I bought a Whirlpool Cabrio Top Load washing machine September of 2012. It has never cleaned the clothes well. For the last month the machine has a very loud spin cycle. I am very unhappy with this purchase and it is 2 months out of warranty. I emailed WHIRLPOOL and was told that all appliances have problems and wear out. WOW! It is 14 months old and has been used with care. I will never buy another Whirlpool product.

I bought this washer on 2-28-09. By 3-12 the thing took a crap. The whole counter balance broke off away from the drum. This washer lasted 3 years and 1 month. What a piece of garbage. I expected this front loader to last a lot longer than 3 years! Of course when I called Whirlpool they said, “Well its not under warranty so you can buy the 1-yr warranty for $300.00,” and theyll come out and fix it for me. If Im going to pay $300, I might as well buy a new machine! I only paid $600 for it and to last 3 years is pitiful. This is defect in workmanship if the machine breaks in only 3 years. I told her that something should be covered because it should last longer than that. She basically said “oh well”. Oh well, I guess I wont be buying another Whirlpool again. Steer clear of this Duet Sport machine!

We spent a lot of time researching to make sure we were making the right choice, found the one that was right for us. When it got delivered there was a problem though, the plastic scratch protector film they put on the doors for delivery left an adhesive residue that looked like dull spots all over our new shiny black doors. I immediately opened up the owners manual to see how they recommend removing this blotchy sticky residue, assuming we werent the first ones to ever come across this problem, unfortunately they only provide generic cleaning tips. So I went to their website and found what I was looking for. I tried all of the cleaning methods they provide, none of them even came close to working. So I grabbed some adhesive remover and tried that, it worked great to remove the residue however my microfiber cloth (which they recommend explicitly) started leaving scratches all over the finish.I called the customer service to see about getting a new door delivered, thinking this wont be more than a 5 minute phone call since I had followed all of their steps they provide both in the owners manual and on their website. Heres where I find out that their policy DOES NOT cover scratches/cosmetic damage, period. I tried reasoning with them, I had them read their own recommended cleaning procedures, and we both concluded that I had followed their procedures to the T! You might think that if the all of the typical procedures didnt resolve the issue, that would be the point where the customer service reps would have the ability to make a decision that satisfy the customer, you would be wrong! They kept telling me over and over that their policy doesnt cover cosmetic, therefore there was nothing they could do. It was delivered with a defect of sorts, how is the customer responsible for that? The only way I can see it having worked out in my favor is if I had never tried to clean it myself and immediately called customer service, I still fear they would have given me the same line of cosmetic damages are not covered even if I would have tried each procedure with them walking me thru it over the phone. Lesson learned, I will never purchase another Whirlpool product!

Whirlpool Duet - they are highly rated and are aesthetically pleasing. Highly rated, they are expensive, my last Duet w/d didnt last as long as expected. Ive had to repair both machines once since I purchased them. Good quality is of utmost importance, plenty of washing and drying options, front loading washing machine, full size extra large capacity, attractive machines, good reputation for quality and lack of repairs.

Reliability. I have bought Whirlpool used and new and they have been the best washers that last so much longer than other brands. They also have more than enough settings to truly take care of everything in your home that can be washed.

My Whirlpool Cabro washer does not get clothes clean. When I contacted the manufacturer, I was told that it is water saving. What kind of water-saving is it if it does not clean my clothes. I would think cleaning clothes require water. If this feature renders the product ineffective, this product should not be in the market.

I have the 4.3 cu. ft. washer. This washer worked OK, but the lid lock does fail after about one year if the washer is in an environment where moisture may be present.I noticed the lid lock not working all the time about two months before the warranty expired. If this happens, call the warranty department immediately. After checking the ground wire and resetting the washer power over and over again, the lid lock finally stopped working completely. Here is how to fix it:There are two screws on the back of the top portion of the washer. Unscrew them from the silver straps. The washer lid will now push forward and up and off. Prop it up with a stick.Unscrew the two screws on the lid lock and start taking it apart (after reading this entire review). Be careful not to lose any parts and be sure to know where everything goes for re-assembly. Take pictures if necessary. Take the lid lock completely apart including any small pieces.The plastic slide needs to be cleaned. It has a spring that may fall when you pull it apart.The metal contact points inside the lid lock mechanism need to be cleaned. Be extremely careful when pulling the red cover off of the housing assembly. Pull the four metal contact points completely out of the plastic assembly. Be real careful with the black plastic slide piece, the metal rocker switch and the switch actuating motor. Use a small file and rubbing alcohol to clean off any green or white corrosion. Make sure to check all contact points.Re-assemble and you will immediately notice the lock switch working better. Re-install onto the machine. Re-install the upper portion of the washer. Start your laundry. Repeat after one year or when the lid lock becomes faulty again. These points should have been made out of a less corrosive material. Poor craftsmanship. Would not recommend.

So far this washing machine has been perfect. Its a top load not front load which I prefer. Im not a big fan of how it locks and I cant throw other stuff in once it started. Other than that Im very satisfied.

We bought this Whirlpool he washer two months ago, and it is the most aggravatingly frustrating washer weve ever had the displeasure to use. There are times when it washes just fine, but I always have to put the mode on deep water wash because the normal mode uses very little water (like its supposed to) but it doesnt clean the clothes. However, most of the time it doesnt wash at all. All the lights will turn off and youll hear this sound and itll drain the water without having been in the wash cycle. Worthless piece of equipment! I prefer the old washer where I have more control. Whirlpool used to be such a good brand, What Is Happening? The new design for their washing machine nowadays generates a lot of complaints, and with good reason (because they suck).

Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum WTW8800 model - In the words of the service technician who came out finally to service the machine. This machine is a piece of crap that should be recalled from the market. It is a low level-water unit that has no agitator ability in it and does not provide enough water to even slightly clean clothes. Everything must be sorted into the smallest loads possible and even then the clothes dont clean because they beehive into a ball and do not agitate. Technician says the machine cannot be fixed and simply recommends it be trashed (it is 1 1/2 years old). Technician recommends going back to front loaders where at least the clothes agitate. Called Whirlpool for help and was told all system are down...duhhhh. Call back in an hour and Good Luck.

I have a 1 year old Whirlpool washing machine (Model: WFW94HEXSW Serial:C04151969). The grease from the drum is found to be the cause of clothes being ruined during the wash cycle. I waited over 3 months for a replacement. The drum arrived broken. I ordered again, and it was then said to be on back order. The water shut off developed a slow leak, causing the water to fill, and flow out the front door, causing carpet damage. We have been forced to throw away good clothes, and pay to have our clothes washed, at a not so local laundromat. We feel it would be more than reasonable to have our washer replaced, and professionally installed immediately.

Whirlpool cabrio top loader is junk from the first month. My washer has had way too many repairs. A&E repair has been a frequent at my home. Now Im getting ready to repair it again! Hub gasket or pump not sure this time. All has been replaced previously. Never ending - always something wrong with it!!!

Whirlpool Auto Load Sensing - I bought the washer in Aug 2010 and it worked well until the timer went out this year. Its only 4 years old! The repairman said it would cost $350 to fix - the machine cost me $469 to begin with! Whirlpool builds a poor quality product and Id advise people not to buy their brand of anything.

It is a top of the line washing machine. I have had it for almost four years. It is the best washing machine I have ever had. I have really enjoyed it, because; I am able to wash my comforters in this washing machine.

I have had my washing Machines since 2011 and have had continuous problems with the washing machine during spin cycle sounding like a freight train going through my house. Whirlpool has had people to my house 5 times to fix. When warranty was up in 2012, I was told they would continue to cover this particular issue. They came out again in April 2013 and now I am being told, Too bad; if you want fixed then you will need to pay for it.

We were a Whirlpool family, and have been using a Whirlpool front loader – Duet Steam Model # WFW9500TW - for the past nine years without any issues until recently when it started to vibrate. Technician sent by Whirlpool blamed it on failing bearing and that it was cheaper to replace than to repair (In hindsight, I wish we had tried repairing). Naturally, we decided to replace with a new front loader from Whirlpool - Model # WFW6620HW. Our previous version had a max spin speed of 1000 RPM and a capacity of 3.5 cu. ft. This new one has a top spin speed of 1160 RPM and a capacity of 4.5 cu. ft. The main problem with our old one was vibration, and this was being caused by the washer going into high spin while the clothes were not evenly distributed throughout the drum. In one spin, the clothes would spin perfectly without any vibration, but in another spin of the same cycle, the washer would not allocate that same clothes properly throughout the drum, which leads the drum to cause vibration from unbalanced high spin. Vibration is a problem, because like most Americans, we live in a wood frame house, and have a basement underneath with the washer located on the main floor. Vibration from unbalanced high RPM spin gets sent down to other areas of the house, causing damage, drywall cracks, separation in trims, etc. And these are all only the damages one can see with their eyes.One point about vibration and some myth busting. Provided that all your washer legs are meeting the floor and not on a saggy floor, your washer should not vibrate more than it does during an empty spin. If it does, then it is due to faulty, poor design/engineering. What happens is when the steel drum becomes unbalanced with laundry in high spin, it starts to shake as more of the weight is on one side, which one can notice looking inside the washer window. There are concrete weights fastened to the top and bottom of drum to keep the drum in place and to reduce its shaking tendencies. However, this weight also causes the washer cabinet to wobble if the drum itself is shaking. This wobble in turn causes the washer legs, which may be firmly grasping the floor, to very slightly come off the floor, which one can feel if touching both the washer feet and floor with their finger at the high spin of an unbalanced spin. And that motion of legs coming off the floor and hitting back at high RPM is what causes vibration to be felt on the floor and to be seen on the cabinet. Of course, this effect is amplified with washers that decide to go into an unbalanced spin with an even higher max spin. When our old washer perfectly balanced the clothes, it behaved like it was running high spin while the drum was empty. This is how all washers should behave, especially in America where the vast majority of homes are wood frame based. However, that was not what we experienced with this new Whirlpool. If a washer is not capable of balancing out the clothes, extra function or feature should be deployed in containing the drum shake to within the drum, and not allow it to escape.First, our old front load Duet Steam Whirlpool was Made in Germany. This new one is ‘assembled’ in America. The door window of the new one is plastic and feels cheap and flimsy, but I expect all the darker color door windows of newer front loaders to be plastic. Consider it cost cutting. We did not look for additional anti-vibration technology because our old Duet didn’t have anti-vibration features aside from its two springs and four suspensions. We decided not to use Load & Go because I have personally seen liquid HE detergents gum up over time, so I didn’t want to risk it gumming up inside the washer.After the installers left, I spend an hour cleaning the outside of the washer to perfection. Sadly, time wasted. Once I was done, I first did a wash without clothes, and then with clothes in Normal, fast spin cycle with drum about 2/3rds full. Just pants and t-shirts. There is a recirculating pump at the top of the drum to distribute the water, and to also distribute soap mixed water. But I am not sure if this is without problems. These pumps can collect soap residue with time, and you will eventually end up rinsing the laundry with soap mixed water even in rinse cycle.In getting to the first spin in wash cycle, I was flabbergasted to see how, just how rudimentary, I want to reiterate the word rudimentary, the load detection was before entering high spin. Our nine-year-old washer had a more comprehensive one. The new washer would spin the clothes at very, very low spin and simply see if the drum is most evenly spinning. That’s all. Compared it to our old washer which would also shake the drum to see if there was movement from side to side, because clothes can change their position when entering high spin. This rudimentary load detection causes the new washer to create an even worse uneven load distribution around the drum before spin, even though it may seem even at very low RPM. So, why is the new washer’s load detection so basic? I believe it is due to ball bearings.Front load washer models from other companies employ ball bearings to reduce vibrations from uneven loads. Whirlpool does not employ such feature, at least, they do not advertise them. However, to my surprise, I hear metal balls hitting each other every time the drum direction changes during the wash cycle. I inquired Whirlpool about this and I received contradictory responses. My theory is that the basic load detection before spin speed is used because Whirlpool assumes any changes to load distribution will be taken care of or reduced by the ball bearings of the washer. But this ultimately allows the washer to go into more uneven spins. The bearings may also be used to increase the tolerance of what is considered an ‘unbalanced load’ in order to get the washer to go into spin cycle faster, decreasing the time involved of the washer to go into spin cycle. Sadly, to my dismay, the new washer ended up causing a worse vibration than our old one with failing bearing.I called up the retailer the same day of delivery and complained of vibration. He first sent an installer to see if it was installed properly, and upon showing the installer of the vibration issues, the retailer sent me a new washer couple of days later thinking the first one was a lemon, and even though it has less noisy draining noise, it too exhibited the same issues with it going into significantly uneven spin. In the end, we decided to return the Whirlpool washer all together, at a loss of $200 because the retailer did not hold up to their spoken return policy.We have done many loads in this washer to see if our loading is an issue, loads of varying sizes, loads of varying types, loads of weights, and we maybe only had an evenly distributed load around the drum about once or twice. Once it was a King comforter. But, like our old washer, this too ended up not distributing properly around the drum in the final spin cycle and started vibrating, even though it was vibration-free in the previous high spin cycle. This proves that the problem exists directly within the washer, not the floor, leveling, load, etc.Some other problems with the washer: - The washer door, Load & Go dispenser at bottom, and single load dispenser at top are all plastic parts which all vibrate significantly during fast spin cycle. Especially the Load & Go dispenser which keeps hitting the cabinet to make banging noise. - Drain sounds are much, much louder than our previous Duet. It was even louder in the first one we received. Combine this to uneven spins and this washer can perhaps compete with an engine in terms of the sound it generates. - Single use dispenser at top left will hit the washer door if washer door is opened when the dispenser is also in open position. - Buttons are sometimes unresponsive, to which I have to power off and try again. But this has only happened a couple of times.- There is a small ¼ in. opening where the steel drum meets the rubber gasket, opening in which items like coins, etc., may fall through and are irretrievable. Don’t think small socks would be affected.To potential buyers, I suggest you proceed with caution when it comes to this washer. Understand the retailer’s appliance return policy and make sure it is shown in paper. It can save you a lot of headache. Get the extended warranty of three years because manufacturers only give you one-year warranty for a reason. I would also suggest that you avoid this washer at all costs if you have any floor level below where this washer is to be installed, especially if the level below is a basement. Your house is more important and more valuable than a $1000 washer.In the end, I am very disappointed in Whirlpool, an American company. Perhaps Whirlpool focuses their attention on top loaders, not front loaders. But Whirlpool had nine years to improve their washers, and it is sad that we may now have to go outside of America for a quality product to be used in American homes. P.S. Purchased this washer new 2015 for use in our cabin. Now 4 years later with very little use the motor has seized. Washer is useless. What happened to 20 years of almost daily use and still runs great. This washer is a very poor quality washer and has now failed. Please save your money and buy a different brand.

We purchased Whirlpool Cabrio Washer Model #WTW7300DW0 and Dryer in 2013 from Home Depot. The washer is the worst appliance we ever owned. It makes a horrific metal rubbing noise during agitation. The Whirlpool assigned repair service provider, after 2 trips and $300 has been unsuccessful in repairing the problem. Even after he called Whirlpool direct for assistance. Given that we used a Home Depot Gift Card for purchase, the repair expense is rapidly diminishing any benefit to keeping the machine. Well not even consider purchasing Whirlpool again.

We purchased a Cabrio model WTW6600SB2 washer, it has lasted 4 years, then when the pump went out, we paid $200. To fix it then on the 2nd load, it went out, now the tech man says the motor is cracked and Im not sure if the motor is replaced, it will even work. I looked at the motor and it is made of plastic! Can you believe this? Plastic! I didnt believe it until I saw it with my own eyes. I will never purchase a Whirlpool appliance again nor will any of my relatives or friends if they ever ask my opinion.

I purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio Set from a local store. Just over a year later, the washer got very loud like a jet engine. Called the registered repairman, he came out took a look and said he would get back to me. Called him 3 times over 3 weeks, no show (Hoodland Appliance). Called someone else, repaired it for $400.00. Called Whirlpool, they are not interested. 2 years later now and the machine is getting loud again. This is due to the spin throws water up and it is able to get out of the tub and down into the barring and the soap residue wears the barring out. Bad design. Called Whirlpool again and again they are not interested but can put me in touch with a repairman. I will not repair again but will use until dies and buy something else not related to Whirlpool. So much for energy efficiency.

Very loud when in spin cycle, tub leaking out of the bottom. Bearing is shot. Only lasted about 3 years. It also knots up the laundry, does not remove dirt from soiled clothing.

What a horrible experience. I purchased a Whirlpool Duet HE Front Loading Steam Washer in 9/9. I have used it no more than 15 times. It has an error code F70. I called Whirlpool and used one of their recommended technicians. He was there for no more than five minutes and he informed me that it was one of the two parts--one is $300, the other is $500. Both these parts are computer chips. He instructed me to call Whirlpool stating that they would give me the parts for free. I did, and they refused stating that the product is now out of the one-year warranty. This is clearly defective. I am now faced with $1,000 fix. I feel that I was further misled by Whirlpool because they should have told me before the service call that I was going to have to pay $1,000. The customer service reps and the manager were both unresponsive and rude.

Whirpool has its main washers, then the off brand of Whirlpool. After using the washer after a few months the balance starts to get off balance. Trying to find parts and get them put in is easy, hard part is replacing them after they wear off after use a few months.

On 12-22-13 we purchased a new Whirlpool Washer- Model=Top Loading-WTW4800BQ. We also purchased Lowes extended warranty. Washer was delivered on 12-24-13 around 1:00pm. Connected washer. Washer filled with water. System started but would not wash. 10 minutes later it rinsed and drained but would not go thru wash cycle. We clicked the cancel button for 3-seconds to restart. Same problem. Called Lowes - Lady name Kelly continued to tell us we did something wrong. She would not listen and continued to say its Christmas EVE. Finally the workers came out to check it out around 4:00. Confirmed washer is defective and new washer will be delivered on 12-26-13. Confused as to the label on the machine says made with pride in America. Our 20yr. old Cabrio only lasted two years and went up. Never buy another Whirlpool product!

The machine never allows enough water to clean the clothes and I do not have the option to add more water or to spin the clothes again. The maker of this machine must think that people do not have the ability to know how to wash clothes or think for themselves. I need a washer that I can tell to add more water or just spin these clothes again. Very disappointed. I need an older model that I can control.

I bought what I thought was a great washing machine. It is a top loading Cabrio from Whirlpool. The machine leaves white residue on all my dark clothing. It is a disaster. I am following washing instructions exactly, using HE detergent, loading the right amount, I even tried using PODS. I tried different temperature water, different cycles of washing and spinning and the same thing happens. I had an old Maytag that broke that cleaned beautifully. This thing is a piece of garbage and I would love to send it back if they would let me. DO NOT BUY IT. I AM BEGGING YOU, YOU WILL BE VERY UPSET.

Doesnt wash clothes properly - often some items of clothing just dont get wet. After 3 years the whole main bearing in it failed, causing unbelievable noise and constant overload faults. All Whirlpool top load washers have this critical design fault where water leaks into the main bearing (the bearing is an unsealed type with a cheap grommet seal) and then after a year or 2 the bearing starts to cease and the machine overloads itself trying to operate. Replacing the bearing means pulling the whole machine apart - and with a cheap press-fit bearing like this, special tools are needed and it will never operate smoothly again anyhow. In any case in 2 years, the faulty bearing seal design will let water destroy the bearing again. Effectively it is not repairable. Sounds like class action to me. So, it became an $1000 paperweight and I bought a new Samsung unit. I assume the Koreans know how to design bearings and seals...

My elderly parents had everything they own destroyed in Hurricane Sandy. After rebuilding their home, the new Whirlpool washing machine was broken. Whirlpool refused to disconnect and remove the machine that was obviously broken before it arrived. This is something that no one should have to go through. It is appalling and bad business. Through the kindness of friends, we had several male friends help with the removal. Truly shocking, that this is how Whirlpool handled this situation.

I purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio top loading machine approx 3 yrs. ago. When I first bought it, the machine was super quiet... loved it. I loved the capacity of it. About a yr ago I noticed it started making all kinds of noise, we cant have a conversation downstairs because its so loud. Turns out the bearings are broken. The technician was nice enough to explain to me that its a common problem with those machines. However, Whirlpool is not willing to stand by their product and repair it free of charge. Any other product would of been recalled and repaired. That goes for cars, baby products, and so on. But not Whirlpool, I called and spoke to Andrea in Michigan who told me that there is nothing that they are willing to do. After reading the other reviews and their terrible one star average rating it doesnt surprise me. Shame on me for not researching this product before buying. I hope this saves someone else from making the same mistake. In case your wondering, it cost me $117.00 to have the tech look at the machine. The labor would of cost $125.00 and the part is $251.00........

My Cabrio is only 4 years old and it stop working properly. I call a service technicians to repair it and after aol $45 service charge level, he tells me that it has a Motor capacitor defect at a cost of $360 to repair. So I have paid useless piece of junk. I out and purchased another washer only $150 more than the repair. I will never buy a Whirlpool product again. My last washer a Maytag (before Whirlpool bought them out) lasted over 20 years. So if you do not want to buy a new $600 washer every 4 years. Stay clear of Whirlpool.

We purchased a higher end cabrio model only 3 years ago. Last year, on about every 5th cycle, the load would not spin at the end. Id have to remove all the wet clothes, set it to drain and spin, start it and wait for it to hopefully kick in. When I do it right, it kicks into the spin mode. I had to quickly press start/stop to unlock the hatch and reload the soaking wet clothes and wait for it to spin properly. Yesterday the same thing happened again. This time, it did not kick in. I ended up flipping the washer over and taking a look underneath. I discovered that the motor was seized. It had lost all its lubricating oil and smoked the belt. Now, my 3 year old washer is sitting in the driveway awaiting a trip to the dump since I got fed up and went out and purchased a new Samsung top loader. I emailed and called whirlpool with no luck. Not impressed. When I went out to buy a washer today the first thing I told the salesman was to stick anything with the name whirlpool out in the trash bin out back.

Off balance, wont wash correctly. Familiar stories online. Wasted money on a washer that is not very old. Wont buy another one ever again.

My washing machine stopped working. I called customer service and got through to Tonya, in the Benton Harbor, Michigan call center. She was wonderful! Living is SW Florida, were having a difficult time right now dealing with the aftermath of Irma. Tonya is an angel during this trying time! Thank you Whirlpool for have exceptional customer service reps! Ill continue to purchase your products as a result.

On 11-29-2014 we were washing our laundry and our whirlpool washing machine started making a really loud noise so I went to investigate the problem. I open the bottom part of the washer to find out that the whole cement block to balance the drum was on the floor of the washer so I called the 1800 number on the machine and no one at whirlpool corporation wanted to even help. No one said sorry. No one said Let me see if I can help. No one. Every one I talked to they cant help at all. No one apologized once about the poor product that whirlpool sells and the defect that their products has. My washer is one year and one month old. So I can say truly with confidence that whirlpool product are the worst in the world plus their customer service even more. It is very sad after we paid all kind of money for our washer now I have to buy another one after one year and one month. Very bad customer service.

Have owned my Whirlpool washer model# LSR 701 0PQ1 two years and had no problems with it before today... The washer was used once a week since I purchased it and only myself use it. There is only myself and my son and our loads are always small. Well today I put a load in and went to finish my other housework and when I went to check on the load, there was a weird smell in my laundry room. As I approach the washer to put softener in the rinse I saw a flash behind on the left hand side of the control panel where the size of load and water temperature selection is. I unplugged the washer and put the fire out. Have never had anything happen like this before with this brand. I already know I have to buy another washer but am scared to get another Whirlpool.

Ive been a landlord since 1997 and have multiple sets of coin laundry machines. The older Whirlpool machines are great and have lasted 25-40+ years with almost no issues. Replaced a washer with this model 4 years ago and have multiple problems. Im buying a used coin operated washer thats older than this model just to get rid of it. Cost of parts is almost half the cost of a new washer, and adding on labor and time makes no sense. Very happy to get rid of it. Electronics instead of mechanics has been the problem. Electronic switch that is activated with the coin slide broke, the main board fried, and the lid switch has caused problems

Our Whirlpool Cabrio washer is 2 years old and also sounds as if its a jet on the runway preparing for takeoff. The spin cycle started this about a month ago. It is so loud now. It is just SCARY. I am so angry! No recall??? seriously???!!! Rip-off. I will NEVER buy anything Whirlpool again!!!

I purchased the Whirlpool Cabrio (wtw6600sw2) about five years ago. Last year, the motherboard had to be replaced. This year, it started to have load balance issues on the spin cycle; in other words, it wont spin without sounding like its going to tear itself apart. It cost $75 to have someone look at it, and to fix it will cost almost $400, and whats next? I spent a lot of money for this machine, and Whirlpools answer was to offer me a discount to purchase a new Whirlpool. I called Whirlpool and my model does not have a recall, but models with same problems have been recalled. I will never buy a Whirlpool again!!!

Front load is terrible. Doesnt wring clothes thoroughly. Runs for 1 hour on fastest cycle. A HUGE WASTE OF ENERGY! NOT A GOOD MACHINE!!! Our clothes are wet always after the spin cycle. It also doesnt do small throw rugs. Awful!

I bought a commercial coin operator washer (Whirlpool washer model CAE2743BQ) for $800 and after using it for 4 months the washer stop working. The main board panel lights turned all and the washer did not start. Called Whirlpool several times and nobody could help me and told me to look online for a distribution center to get parts. The customer service only knew about regular washers not coin operator. The washer had only 3 months warranty from Home Depot and I was supposed to pay for all the repairs and Whirlpool would pay for parts. So far I spend $400 in repairs and the certified technicians could not repair the washer. They replaced the actuator shift, the main board etc, etc and nothing. The technicians reset the washer at least 10 times, calling Whirlpool tech support and the washer worked for one load and the main board lights stayed on all over again, the start button did not work. I sent a letter to the warranty department that I got online and they told me to call the same 1800 that I had called at least 50 times in the past year. Now it has been more than one year and the machine is defective. Technician said could be the soap that my tenants are using, or overloading the washer or an electric problem that they cannot identify. I gave up... I will not buy a coin operator heavy duty washer from them again. I requested a return authorization for a defective product and I did not get anywhere. Thanks.

Contacted Whirlpool - unit (Cabrio washer 7600xt) is out of 12-mo warranty. Spoke with manager, Tracy **. She said they would not help - out of warranty. Called local parts/service center - ea. hinge is $42 plus shipping and labor to install. Obviously this is a defective design. The lid is too heavy. I was having a difficult time deciding to spend 150-200 dollars every 2-3 years for hinges on a $700 washer and then I read all the other complaints about Whirlpool washers. I will sell it for scrap and buy a better brand.

When you first get the washer it looks like it can get the job done. Its the brand name and you trust to get the best clean from the washer. After a couple of months I dont see them clean. It washes with a couple of shakes back and forth and when my clothes are ready they seem like they were dipped in water. Not clean. It has all these fancy buttons for all different types of cycles and loads and they all seem to wash the same. As a mother of 3 kids I want my kids to put on CLEAN clothes. Not clothes that look like they have just been dipped in the water with detergent. I feel a good on cleaning board and my hands do a lot more than these high priced washers.

I have had this Cabrio washer and it seems to be going well with the washer and I have done lots of laundry from this washer and it seems that it works well and I would recommend it to people and people would like to get their laundry done and people can choose what kinds of washers they want.

Had the washer 3 years. After 1st year had to replace motherboard and lid locking mechanism. Beginning of year 3 the basket came loose, the machine wouldnt spin the water out of the clothes completely and then it quit cycling into the next cycle, ie, the tub filled up with water for the wash cycle but then would not begin agitating. The water sat in the tub until the wash cycle was done and then would drain but would not spin. Each cycle had to be manually started by pressing the pause button, raising the washer lid, and then pressing the pause button again. I called a repair person who ran a diagnostic on the machine and said it needed a new pump, new motherboard again and something else to make it spin properly. Sorry I dont remember what the something is. The estimate to repair was approximately $759 so I am now shopping for a new machine thats not a Whirlpool.

Had washer for 5 months. It now has a door latch error. It has been 3 weeks and it is still not repaired. Parts take a week to 10 days to get. We are now going back and trying the original part ordered. Not sure if this will fix it this time, as it didnt the first time, but we have no choice. Whirlpool will not stand behind their product and give us a replacement and for good reason, it is obviously junk and we will have the same issues in 5 months. Calling their help line is a waste of time, they understand your frustration but do nothing to help relieve it. Their supervisors have the ability to do nothing and excel at it. Thought this was a good product when we bought it but are now suffering for this decision.

I purchased Whirlpool front load washing machine (Sport 1072 CB) in March 2013 and since then it has been my worst nightmare. Buying a Whirlpool washing machine was one of the worst decisions I took. The problems started to come from the first month itself. Many parts have changed and are still being done. I am continuously requesting them to replace the machine but they have decided not to listen. The after sale service of Whirlpool is the worst in the industry.

We bought a Whirlpool model WFW5620HW front-load washer at Lowes. The unit shook so violently during part of the spin cycle that the Whirlpool-authorized service company technician said not to use it while parts were ordered. It seems the balance ring was not functioning. Parts ordered were shocks and tub assembly. The technician suggested trying to get a whole new unit, as the repair is so intensive he had only done one or two in his career.Whirlpool customer service said they would not replace the unit, and an escalated request had the same response. I think this is terrible customer service - when there is such intensive failure in the unit, they should provide a brand new machine. The work has not yet been done - we are without use of a washer for an unknown period of time, since the order of a tub assembly is so uncommon that they do not have a time estimate. Needless to say, we will never buy Whirlpool again, and suggest you do the same.

I wish I had gone on this website and read the reviews before I bought my washer about two years ago. I thought the Whirlpool Cabrio was going to be a good machine because of the brand name and because it is one of the more expensive washers. Like many others have said, I am disappointed with this washer. I bought it because it has a large capacity, but mostly because it has a hand wash cycle and a deep water soak. I have found that the only cycle that actually may get clothes clean is the Bulky Items cycle, because it actually covers the clothes in water. Some of the other cycles dont even get the clothes entirely wet. And the deep water soak doesnt wash the clothes, rinse them, or spin them dry. I might as well pre-soak clothing in my laundry tub, and then put them in the machine to wash them. Prior to this machine, I had a Maytag Neptune front loader, which did alright, but it had a few problems. I am ready to go back to the inexpensive agitator machine my mother used to have, if anyone still makes them. They at least got the clothes clean, and you could soak clothing if you wanted to. Im sorry that I bought this expensive washer. I wish I had bought a relatively inexpensive, simple machine. One good thing about this machine though is that I was able to wash a sleeping bag on the Bulky Items cycle. So, I didnt have to take the sleeping bag to the laundromat. Whirlpool needs to improve this machine or go back to the drawing board and create a new one.

I am writing to you all today to urge you to not purchase Whirlpool products specifically Whirlpool 2-cu ft High-Efficiency Front-Load Washer. I purchased a front loader washing machine for our tenants through Sears back in June of 2013. When it was hooked up it had an error code on it so we contacted Sears and 3 weeks later they sent out a repairman telling us it needed a new motor (this machine had not even washed 1 load of laundry). They ordered the part and Sears paid 1200 to replace a part on an 800.00 washer.....yeah I know dumb right. Well the part replacement did not work. (Surprised) They ordered and delivered a new washer 1 month later....same error code. Lets try again with another washer......same error code. How about another one......water would not stop running into the machine because the sensor was broken. Wait we are not done how about another one.....same error code. No I am not kidding, 10 months later 5 washing machines and my tenants have yet to have been able to wash a single load of laundry. I have been reimbursing my tenants every month for not having a washer for the past 10 months. I finally had Sears reimburse for the washer which they will pick up soon. I am out all the interest for the past 10 months for a product never used. To top it all off I called Whirlpool directly to see if they would be willing to at least give me a coupon for any amount toward the purchase of a different washer. They told me quote We dont do anything to compensate our customer for their troubles. That is the icing on the cake folks!!! I will never purchase another Whirlpool product and I encourage you all to not as well. I want to show them how not caring for their customers can impact them. Please share if you can, but more importantly please pass the word!!!!!

I have bought a top load 6.2kg washing machine 3 months back. But now almost all the plastic parts are having a cracks. When I asked for replacement they said plastic parts are not covered in warranty.

We bought a Cabrio washer four years ago for over 1,000 dollars. It lasted two years. The cost to repair was too high. We bought a low-end simple machine two years ago from Whirlpool. Now we are told it needs a new control panel, which again is going to make it not worth fixing. Two machines in four years. I called their customer service and there was nothing they could for me. The person they recommended to fix it told me it wasnt worth fixing and didnt even come out. I am done with Whirlpool.

I purchased a new Whirlpool washer, from day one it did not work, for the past month I have been trying to fix the problem with service people. The service people were at my house 5 times without any positive results. I was told by Whirlpool representative that they will not replace the washer or give me my money back, they have 12 months to fix the problem. I have never seen such a bad customer service and arrogance towards a customer. I will never buy anything manufactured by this company.

I purchased a new Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum washing machine 2 years ago. Do not like it at all. Does not get my clothes clean. Pulls threads in my clothing. When I wash clothes on the normal cycle they are barely damp when the cycle is finished. When I use fabric softener it leaves blue spots on my clothes. I cannot afford to buy another washer so Im stuck with this one until it breaks. I would NOT buy another Whirlpool high-efficiency washing machine ever again.

Read reviews on the same washer (Cabrio Whirlpool) that I had purchased in January 2017. I have the same problem everyone else has with it, not cleaning the clothes. It was such a disappointment. Had a Whirlpool front in loader for 15 years. Loved it! But the washing machines without the agitator on it is a laugh. What person thought up that design. What a joke on the poor unknowing people that purchased one. Im also upset at G&H Appliances for not standing by their products they sell. Found out that Lowes has a 30 day satisfaction guarantee on what they sell. Not buying from Lowes and buying a washer without on agitator on it. Was two big mistakes I made. I wanted to help out a small local business, but wont be doing that again. They sure are not worried about me.

We have had the washing machine about four months. When washing sheets, they twist up badly. The machine does not seem to get the clothes very clean. It seems that it does better when we put it on the bulky setting for all washing that we do. More water is needed I guess.

My Whirlpool washer broke down on July 06, 2014. I contacted the local supplier (Unicomer Trinidad) on July 07, 2014. Their technician came on July 10, 2014. He said that he will have to check and see if they have the part that is needed to repair the machine, they will contact me the next day. No one contacted me. I called on July 14, 2014. I was told that they do not have the part and it has to be order. It will take about 2 weeks for it to reach them, no one contacted me since. I contacted them (Unicomer Trinidad) on August 04, 2014. I was told that they do not have the part and it will take 2-3 weeks to reach them. I did filled out a form on the Whirlpool support site about 2 weeks ago but no one contacted me. I contacting Whirlpool US HQ by telephone, they gave me a number for Whirlpool Florida. I was told that they are responsible for my area but when I try calling the number, it was out of service. When I contacted back Whirlpool US HQ, I was told that they cannot help me check the website for the local representative which I could not find. This washing machine is 10 months old plus I took the extended warranty. It is a Duet WFW94HEXL2 washer.

Seems to use very little water. When I take the clothes out, they are bone dry in places which means they havent even seen any water! Clean (?) clothes end up smelling musty and I end up having to wash them two or three times which completely goes against any eco argument! I am really disappointed with this product and would never buy Whirlpool again. I have just washed our dog blankets. The cycle finished so took them out, had to check that the detergent had been used as the blankets were almost completely dry. The blankets still completely smell of dog so have had to put them through another wash (with more detergent – waste of money) and with a pre-wash cycle. Rubbish! We also have a Whirlpool drier and that is no better. Washing never comes out completely dry. It always has to be fully aired, sometimes more than others. There is no consistency in how wet or dry the clothes come out. Avoid at all costs.

I have always like the Whirlpool brand in general. It is a well known company and the products have always been of quality. I will say that recently I discovered that Whirlpool will only allow their own technicians to work on more current washers and driers and that is concerning since I have always used a technician I know and trust.

Cabrio Washer - We were getting unbalanced load messages and the washer would stop. I called in a serviceman and he said it wasnt worth fixing. It would be cheaper to buy a new one. This washer is only 5 years old.

WTW5640X The machine is tearing up clothes of many including mine. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and thought I had over-loaded the machine. Not so. There has been nothing run through the machine other than clothes and bedding. When I called for service 1 1/2 months after warranty is out of date I am told I can have a service call including parts and labor and another year warranty for almost $400. If it werent for the numerous reports online of the machine doing the same to others I might have gone for it. Shame on you Whirlpool. Are you the next GM?

Bought Model# wtw4800xq4 washer @ Lowes 9/01/13. Started having problems within months at our beach cottage unrented, our use only, no more than 4 small loads a month. Replaced circuit board, still same problem - stuck in rinse, never drains, wont spin. Another company came out, replaced solenoid. Thank God we bought year extended warranty. Quit again. Have to wring out clothes by hand, rinse out soap in sink. Another company comes, replaces shifter, breaks again. I go to Lowes, demand new unit. They send another company out, broke next day 1 load later. Got new washer from them same model. Within months problems start again. Now broken again. After new shifter 3 months ago, songs like rocks in coffee can. PIECE OF JUNK. CALLING again for service after Christmas. Absolutely disgusted with Whirlpool and the whole lack of admission of design flaws. NEVER WHIRLPOOL, new mantra here.

I bought a Whirlpool washer and after a few months it started acting up when spinning. I contacted your so called customer service and they gave me the runaround. Told me I wasnt loading it right. Im 60, I know how to load a washer. Well it got worse and worse and finally went kaput. Its going to cost over $100 to fix the springs and I was told it was your lemon and all that brand was bad. I bought a Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum washer 2 years ago and it is by far the worst washer I have ever owned. Its a water saving device with extremely long cycles. The clothes dont get wet enough, dont come out clean and they do not smell fresh. I have to put them through 3 rinse cycles and often times have to re-wash my clothing. The cycles are very long, using more electricity, and it takes me 3 times as long to get my weekly laundry done. My clothing comes out more wrinkled and twisted causing longer time ironing. My old agitator style washer did a superior job compared to this piece of junk. I dont like the automatic locking lid, nor do I like the machine choosing the spin cycle for me. There isnt even a soak cycle. If I want to soak my things I have to do it in the sink and then drag them to the washer to rinse and spin them.I spend a fortune on laundry additives in order to get my clothing clean and then they arent as clean as with my old washer. I now dread doing laundry and every time I look at the washer I feel like taking it to the dump! There isnt anything I like about this machine and I wouldnt recommend it to anyone. It is a piece of crap. This is 2016 and they havent learned how to make a good working washing machine. When I move, I will be celebrating leaving it here! I will never, ever buy a product made by them again.

We purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio Washer (Mod #WTW7300XW1) and Dryer in 2011. Ever since we have had the washer it has eaten clothing, towels, sheets etc. It now has a main bearing that is so noisy that we have to close the door to the laundry room to be able to hear in the rest of the house. Also the sealed tank around the drum is now leaking. We invested close to $1000.00 in this washer and in my opinion it is a piece of junk. The washer repairman told me that he has had 3 (three) other Cabrios with the same problem in the last month, but Whirlpool says that there is nothing they can do as they have had no issues with this problem. Last Whirlpool product that I will buy.

High end Whirlpool dual front loader washing machine model number WFW94HEXW2 died after 5+ years of less than moderate use. Used no more than once a week. Paid for a top end model. Had 2 mechanics look at it. Mechanically it is fine. The CCU is not working correctly and wont allow it to start. We replaced it, but to no avail. It is barely out of warranty at 5+ years old. Called Whirlpool and they said they would do nothing. Asked for a manager and she was rude to add insult to injury. Cant get to the serial number because the door is locked shut as part of the shutdown problem. Cant find original receipt so including a picture of the credit card purchase. Trying to contact retailer but so far have not heard back from them.

Whirlpool Cabrio washer - Absolute piece of garbage! Doesnt clean clothes at all. Too bad there isnt a glass top to this machine where you can witness the inefficient operations as it goes through a cycle. How can a machine be energy efficient when a cycle takes an hour and a half? What a sad situation that this is made in America. I feel like such a sucker when I read all of these posts.

The washer was 5 months old and broke. Three service appointments and multiple phone calls, it still wasn’t fixed. Whirlpool sent rusty parts out to my home and that was the second excuse for not fixing the washer. The poor service guy must have been 70 years old. Hello, how do washer parts get rusty when they are not even used and are kept in a box?

On November 1, 2011, I purchased the Whirlpool Estate washer (model # ETW4400XQ) from Wholesale Appliance in Charleston, SC. The first time I used it I knew something wasnt right when both the regular and so-called gentle cycle agitated at an incredibly fast speed. It is damaging my clothes. I called the dealer and they sent out a service person. He said that was just the way it was and he couldnt do anything. So, I keep trying to use the gentle cycle, but it was the same thing. I would have to stand by the machine and stop it after a couple of minutes so it wouldnt ruin the clothes. The more I thought about it, I decided that the repairman wasnt right. I called Whirlpool customer service and they sent a different repair service. He also said that he couldnt do anything to make it slow down as it was programmed by a computer inside and he could not change it. I went to the dealer, Wholesale Appliances, and they said there was nothing they could do as far as giving me a refund or a discount on a better machine. The setting on the washer clearly says gentle cycle.” Well, the whole world knows that does not mean beat the clothes to death as fast as possible. Can you make any suggestions? Thanks.

First of all, I would like to tell everyone who ever reads this, that please please please never ever use any Whirlpool products, as their service sucks, their response sucks too, and zero co-operation from their people, which will make you regret to have used their products in future. Please note I registered a complaint on the whirlpool no. **.The complaint was that the washing machine used by us had issues, the power button/ on & off button had come out, and this was clearly stated while registering the complaint. I get a call from Mr. ** (Representative of shree enterprises bibwewadi, pune) and the power button issue was well informed to him as well over the phone by me. He arrived to our place without any new material, he sees the machine and interchanges the buttons, i.e. the broken power button is replaced by other button from my machine which was less used compared to the power button. I had to pay a sum of rs. 400/- for the pathetic service I received from your end.I expect a response from your side within next 4 hours, or I might have to escalate this issue!!! (Please note Whirlpool team that I had submitted the same on your website yesterday, yet I have not received any response from your side). (Whirlpool rating- 0 out of 100). Thanks. We bought Whirlpool Frontloader Washing Machine not over 1 month ago and it started to malfunction showing Ed1 error on its display. We contacted the service center and it was taking too long to have a visit from a technician. Then the technician, who also installed the unit came and checked the unit. He called someone from corporate office or from support team to ask what is error code Ed1 and overheard over the phone that this is a known issue on the brand. The technician said it is possible that unit will be replaced or only the motor. I contacted the brand support thru Messenger and requested to have the unit replaced, because again, the unit is not over 1mo old.I was advised it is not possible as replacement of unit is only applicable when the issue happened within seven days of delivery. STUPID ISNT? Policy is something unworthy for a product that is over 30k. And again, unit started to malfunction not over a month after it was first used. I would say we pretty much took care of the unit, we only use it twice a week. Placed it where it was perfect to put. Followed every advice given to us by the technician who installed it but still, it malfunctioned a few weeks after we started to use it. I am ashamed of the brand itself, we should have chosen Panasonic or Samsung instead not a dumb brand like Whirlpool. I certainly do not recommend the brand for a washing machine unit. Frontloader is a crap.

We purchased an Estate Washer for my 89-year-old mother in 2008. The paint has been peeling down to bare metal on the left top quarter from the corner down to the lid hinge for the past 2 years. I contacted customer service and was given probable causes, one of which was the washer might have gotten dusty! He said that could cause chipping. I reminded him the problem is peeling chunks, no chips, layers of paint. The warranty expired of course. The solution he offered was for me to buy paint from Whirlpool or Lowe’s, and paint it. I have had a Kenmore washer for 24 years. The paint is perfect, and it still runs great. I would never buy another Whirlpool product. The quality is atrocious.

On April 10, I bought a Whirlpool washing machine with a sensor. My clothes do not come clean. The dirty spots are still visible. I had three technicians come to check it out and after they just made the machine start, make the water run, and make the water empty, they confirmed that it was working normally. I have insisted on having someone come and just do a small wash and they did not agree because they are not there to wash clothes. I went back to Leon’s where I bought it and the saleslady told me that she could not do anything about it. I have been dealing with the customer service and the person has tried three times to get someone to come and check the washer properly and was insisting in front of me that I wasnt at all satisfied with the performance of the washer and still confirmed that the washer was working fine. They keep saying that there are no parts that need to be fixed or exchanged, so that means there is nothing wrong with the washer. I have tried all different kind of soaps. They were suggesting that I use Tide, which was the best performing soap. I used Tide or Purex - I even tried half a bottle of bleach - and it would not clean my clothes. The problem is the clothes are not turning, they just hardly moved with water that just keeps the clothes humid. I tried putting in more water with a bucket and when I push the start button, it would drain out all the water that it did not put itself. Ive called the consumer protection and they have advised me to take legal actions against the company and the store that sold it to me. They confirmed that whatever we buy, the article has to do the work it was made for; so the performance of a washing machine is to wash clothes. I even took a three-year prolonged warranty and the store told me that once the one-year warranty with the company has expired, then they could help me with sending their technicians and see what the problem was and they would take it from there. I have an account with the store and I have eighteen months to pay it off. So I was wondering if the saleslady did sell me an appliance saying that it was very good and that I should not have any problems with it. Can I take steps going against her for false advertisement? It’s a month now that my clothes are not washed properly and I need to rewash them by hand before putting them out to dry. The consumer protection office has been telling me that the store should be the one to finalize the problem with the company, but it seems that not even they can come to an agreement. Whatever steps I will take against the company and the store, what are my chances of getting my washer replaced? Whirlpool has been advised about me taking them to court and I got permission to do so. Actually, they invited me to go ahead and do what I thought was right. I do not have the money or time to waste on something that maybe I will have no chance to get anywhere. All I want is to have it replaced with another washer that would be more performing. If anyone has had the same problem and had their case solved, maybe it will give me hope to go on. Please, what is the best and fastest way for me to get this problem resolved? I do need a washing machine. I do need to wear clean clothes. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

I purchased my Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine a couple years ago at Lowes. It sucks. First of all, my washer stinks all the time. It smells like sewer even after the cleaning cycle. My dark clothes come out with a white residue, and my whites come out with dirt on them that wasnt on them before washing... All this even after running an additional rinse cycle. How is this energy efficient? Not to mention, time efficient??? Crazy that once you buy something like this for this amount of money youre pretty much stuck with it... Isnt there a lemon law for appliances? This was so expensive and such piece of crap. I will never buy a Whirlpool washer ever again!

Installers left and Home Depot Cabrio washer stopped with water left in tub. I reset GFIC outlet, tried again and it stopped. Did some research and tried different outlets. Same result. I discovered that if you shut off machine as soon as the GFIC is reset, then the washer will drain no matter what. I have been on the phone with Home Depot and they have no solution but to wait one week for a repairman. Very dissatisfying service. Now I am running a 20 foot, 3 prong, heavy duty extension cord into living area where there are no GFIC outlets and it has been running. I believe there is a fault in the washer, but they must not care if we get electrocuted from the faulty grounding of their Whirlpool product.

Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum WTW8500BWO - It doesnt wash anything very well. I hate it. Dont want it. Wish I didnt buy it. I do all kinds and sizes of loads. My clothes come out dirty - I have to wash my clothes 2 or 3 times.

My parents bought a Whirlpool washer machine and the machine was fine for the first two years, then water started leaking from the bottom of the machine and no one has yet to fix the problem! They have the worst customer service department. The A&E worker who came to my parents house smelled, wasted a bunch of time working on the machine and didnt fix anything! The A&E worker visited my parents house over 10 times and the problem still wasnt fixed! They (worker) have ordered parts after parts and still water keeps running from the bottom of the machine! Someone, please help and cut Whirlpool from the stores! Ive spent almost a whole on the phone trying to help out my elderly parents! Its ** and a lot of headache! Never use Whirlpool; theyre all crap!

I bought a Cabrio washer. Since we bought it, I have had to fix it. The machine is a piece of junk. It looks nice though. After 5 technicians later, our piece of junk is still having problems. We are a poor family with 3 kids who struggle to make ends meet. I feel that this company has taken advantage of the people who put their trust in the so called American company Whirlpool.

This machine always leaves me questioning if its going to finish the cycle. It goes thru all kinds of spastic sounds in order to advance to the next step. I learned I cannot presoak a load more than 10 minutes before the machine empties ON ITS OWN! I just dont trust the machine and would not buy again.

I saw on the Today Show that my Whirlpool Duet washer, purchased in 2008 was a mold-producing nightmare. We are now part of a class action lawsuit that seeks redress. When I called Whirlpool Customer Service, I was fed the company line that the problem is that we dont clean the machine regularly. The instructions call for monthly maintenance, but the rep said we need to wipe it dry after each use. This is an original defect in the machine that Whirlpool refuses to own up to. We had been Whirlpool devotees for years but will never purchase another Whirlpool product.

I purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio washer in July of 2013. In the first 6 months had a technician in to repair it. Worked fine up until now. The washer fills up, the clothes just soaks there for awhile (doesnt wash) then drains out. It doesnt fully drain so I have to put it on spin and drain again. Any suggestions on what I should do?

The Cabrio washing machine I was told by salesman best made so I spent big $$, makes sense right?! Wrong! During spin cycles sounds like jet plane taking off, was told barrings or drive shaft is at fault cause water seeping inside, causing rust, Whirlpool didn’t seal it or designed it to ensure no seepage. Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine WTW8800YC0 - My washing machine that I purchased a little over 3 years ago apparently is a piece of junk. Ive noticed a smell in the past few months, even while using Affresh. Now, its making so much noise that we must close the laundry room door while the washer is on. I called customer service and they will sell me a new 1-year warranty for about $345.00. Customer service thinks it sounds like the motor or the gear box! After reading the reviews on this washer, its not worth it to repair. More trouble looms for us. Whirlpool doesnt stand behind the product and as many complaints as there are, the washer shouldnt even be sold anymore! Never buy Whirlpool!

The machine pass all the cycles but the clothes are only very wet and still dirty.

This is the loudest washing machine I have ever had. Sounds like it is grinding. Called Whirlpool and said that is normal. Will never buy another one and will let everyone I know how noisy it is and not buy one.

I bought a Whirlpool washer in Aug. 2015. At the end of September I had to call and get a repair man to come out twice because my clothes got stuck way down under the agitator. Not only that, but it does not clean my clothes well at all. I am really dissatisfied with this washer!!

I bought the HE Whirlpool Cabrio 2 years ago. It has all the bells and whistles, fancy cycles, etc. but doesnt clean ANYTHING. I have to wash three times to get things clean... So much for energy efficiency. It also gets out of balance with larger loads. What a waste of money and time.

I bought a Whirlpool Duet Washer and Dryer in September 2013 and washer is already broken. It leaks out the front of the front loading door (yes, I clean it as advised, including leaving door open to air dry etc). I am a retired senior citizen and my wife and I spend 6 months of the year in Florida so the washer has barely been used since we are barely home and its not like we are trying to wash load after load of heavily soiled items daily. I would not recommend this product at all!! The repair people said it would cost approximately $300 to fix and offered a plan to fix it for $350 with a 1 year warranty. Why should I bother to do either if I will have to do same after 1 year? This machine is barely used and broke?! The customer service people were not helpful and seemed only interested selling me the repair plan to fix what should not need fixing. So, to recap - I bought the machine in 9/13 then went to Florida from 10/13 to 4/14 (so it was used 1 month). Then, it was used from 4/14 until 10/14 (6 months). I returned from Florida this year in April 2015 and it started leaking in June 2015 (2 months). So, my machine has been used for a grand total of 9 months and it is already broken!!! Stay far away. Whirlpool should come and replace this machine for us for free if they care anything about customer service and senior citizens but clearly they do not. In Florida we have an old Sears Kenmore machine that has lasted for over 20 years!!

I purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio on October 27th, 2010. The Cabrio is always giving me the UL code, which indicates the load isnt in balance. Ive been doing laundry for 27 years. I know how to load dirty clothes into a washing machine evenly. Sometimes it will take me all day to do one load of laundry! Seven months after my purchase, my Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine started giving me the F51 error code. I called the phone number on my Lowes receipt for warranty work. Two weeks later, I finally had my washing machine running again. I was happy and thought Id only have to deal with the UL code. Boy was I wrong?!Now Im two weeks away from my warranty expiring. Im getting the F51 error code again! This washing machine is an $800 piece of junk! Hopefully, I can get the Cabrio repaired before my warranty expires in two weeks. I do a lot of laundry. We are a family of six. So, I know Im hard on washing machines but come on. Shouldnt an $800 washing machine last at least two years? Im not even a full year into owning this junky washer and Ive had two breakdowns! In my opinion, this washing machine needs to be recalled and people need a reliable replacement or refund.

Whirlpool ADP100 wh. A few programs, washes well, dries ok, not great but ok. Standard free standing size, 60 x 85 x 59 cm. The washer itself is fine, but oh the cheap moulded plastic parts, utensil basket, water arms etc, so poorly made. Its amazing that a company would use such poor quality and design to save what can be a few cents on the overall product, personally I was disgusted at the cheap crappy plastic bits.

We purchased a Whirlpool Duet machine in September 2010. About a year ago, I started noticing tears and stains on clothing. Luckily, it was always on a washcloth or blanket, nothing special. Last week, it tore a 3-inch hole in my good jacket. I was not happy! My husband and I checked inside the drum and all around the seal. Neither of us found any rough edges. I thought if I called Whirlpool, they might have had a recall. They assured they had never heard of this problem. REALLY!!! Just look at all these e-mail complaints. Back to the old top loading - basic wash machine. Definitely not a Whirlpool!!!

I bought the stackable Whirlpool Duet. Piece of garbage (model # WFW9150WW). From day one the washer never worked. Error lights/bells kept going on before the second spin cycle. First repair guy couldnt figure it out. And the manual says just unplug and plug the power cable back in. Sure--every time I use it? I called Whirlpool service and they said a new control board was needed without even seeing the machine, which tells me this is a manufacturing flaw. I waited 2 months for the board. When it came, the repair guy put it in and then the machine would not stop filling. So another switch and hose are being ordered. Whirlpool customer service is completely useless. And no one will even discuss replacement. Now Im stuck. $700 out on the first machine and $200 on the extended warranty, which will be useless because Im going to dump the machine. And additional $800 on another new machine which probably wont work either. Oh, yeah, and you have to use special soap, which Ive tried, and got down to using only 1/2 a teaspoon because the suds never cleared. Please tell all your customers never to buy Whirlpool!

We purchased the washing machine on February 2, 2013 and initially noticed that some of the clothes were still dry when the complete load was over. Meaning that I am not saving water cost because I then have to rewash the clothes and pre-scrub the clothes. Then a little over a year later, the machine is making this extremely loud piercing noise when spinning. The cost to replace the part is $250.00+ the repairmans fee. Whirlpool says there is nothing they will do. From reading the other reviews, this is really sad because of the numerous people having the same issueS with a capital S. I definitely would support a class action suit.

We bought our Whirlpool Cabrio 7 years ago and it was great at first. I have not had any trouble with it ripping clothing. The clothes are clean. Its constantly breaking down. First it was the drain pump. Then the main computer board went! I called Whirlpool and of course the lady says its not covered. I had back up though. Google is amazing! I asked why this wasnt a recall as all over the web, people had this same problem. I pushed and pushed and she put me on hold. Came back to say it was in fact covered. What? Really? What changed your mind? She wasnt allowed to tell me. Supposedly had something to do with the date of manufacture. So okay, they send the repair guy out, its fixed. Now tonight, the lid locks and nothing happens! This repair was about 6 months ago. Grrrrr. Its been one thing after another with this hunk of expensive junk. When I buy an appliance I expect it to be problem free for far longer than this. I am not getting a code or anything, just dead air. So frustrating with three kids not being able to do laundry when I need it randomly :( Has anyone else had this problem? The lid locks, then does nothing. I unplugged it, pressed off and restarted it. Changed settings. Nothing is working.

I bought a Whirlpool CABRIO washing machine. I was assured it would do large & bulky. I didnt realize that being so called energy efficient meant that it didnt put enough water in to get my clothes saturated! On large loads or bulky items when I put in my laundry detergent only to find out I had to try to wash them again. Parts of the clothes would still be unwashed & dry after going through a whole cycle! After washing the clothes that did get clean comes out looking like I took them to a stream and washed them on rocks. After taking care of my clothes so they didnt look as old as they were, they are now faded & old looking. I hate this washing machine!

We have had our washer just over a year when the plastic hose that fills the detergent tray began leaking. The entire assembly is plastic and poor quality. Whirlpool customer service says since it is after 1 year, that I would need to pay for the parts & service ($489). I would not recommend this machine or anything Whirlpool.

In August of 2013 the lid on my Whirlpool Cabrio, model #WTW7800XW0 simply fell apart. This washer was purchased from Lowe’s in Live Oak, Florida on August 23, 2010. Lowe’s put me in contact with the authorized repair service, A&E Factory Service. The A&E technician arrived and told me the hinges were the cause of the lid breaking apart. He ordered a new lid and new hinges. When the lid and hinges were delivered the technician came back to my home and looked at the hinges again and said they didnt look that bad so he didnt bother even opening the box with the new hinges. He just put the new lid on and said I shouldnt have any further problem. The total cost of the new lid, hinges and service call amounted to $385.50. Well, here it is - not even a year later and the same problem is back with me. Yesterday (July 23, 2014) I was doing a load of laundry. When the load was complete and the lid lock turned off - the lid actually sprung upward and now the lid wont close. It seems that Whirlpool is fully aware they either have a design flaw of defective lids and they are gouging the customers for their errors. The Cabrio model is supposed to be top of the line - certainly not a cheap machine. I was, at least, happy with the performance of this machine cleaning my clothes properly but this lid problem is ridiculous. I do not plan to purchase any Whirlpool products in the future if they do not make things right by myself and hundreds of others with this same problem.
