We bought the dishwasher on 12/28/11. It broke 4 weeks later. I had the company come out to fix it. 6 months later, it broke again, needed a whole new control board. 3 months later, it broke again, they came out and did some type of repair. 7 months later, it broke again and it needed a whole new control board. They wanted to charge us $250.00 for this, but after some major arguing in regards to how New this was and the warranty now out, they waived the fee. 3 weeks later, the same problem as before! I am so angry about this lemon of a dishwasher! They are coming out again today! I am quite sure they will need to replace the control board again! I will never buy another Whirlpool product.

Whirlpool washing machine #WTW58ESVW1 - I bought this thinking Whirlpool was a good brand name. I was totally wrong. My machine is two years old and the auto sensor switch has quit working 6 times. One time it only did 6 loads of laundry. Another it only worked for 6 weeks. That time I replaced the switch myself to save money on a repairman. Ironically the switch is still under warranty but they will not replace it unless a serviceman comes to confirm that the switch is dead again. This is because 2 have already been returned to them. Obviously, there is a problem with the switch. The company will do nothing. They used the excuse that I did not purchase an extended warranty. This is merely an excuse. Do not purchase any Whirlpool products. You will be wasting your money and time having to end up going to go out to do laundry.

Bought a stainless steel Whirlpool Gold bottom freezer in 2011. I purchased an extended warranty from Lowes (4) years, and still have another year left on it. Im constantly having to mop up puddles that form under the right front of the refrigerator. I read someone elses review with the same issue along with a sheet of ice forming in the bottom of the freezer and having to chip it out so the freezer drawer will close! Im calling the warranty company today.

Bought Whirlpool refrigerator in October 2014, model WDT710PAYH6. Ice maker never worked right and then started leaking water. A month later it is still not fixed even though it is supposed to be under warranty. I bought a Whirlpool dishwasher and stove at that same time -- both of those needed to be replaced right out of the box! Called Whirlpool and they wont replace. Only referred me to a different repair company. Meanwhile it is leaking all over the floor. Now I see all these complaints for the same issue, yet the Whirlpool rep says they know nothing of this problem! I have a brand new Whirlpool matching microwave that sits uninstalled. I am wondering if I should even bother. I bought expensive new appliances to avoid the hassle of older items possibly breaking down -- and I have never been more frustrated in my life.

I purchased a matching set Whirlpool Cabrio top load washer and dryer in 20
I purchased a matching set Whirlpool Cabrio top load washer and dryer in 2007. Bought from Conns for $2,100. After 3 months of ownership, the circuit board had to be replaced on the washer. Three months later the heating element was replaced on the dryer. Just recently I spent $350.00 to replace 4 drum suspensions. The washer literally shook my home. 3 weeks later, the circuit board needs replacement (code F1). Estimate to repair - $325.00. The dryer is not working properly. Im having to run the clothing thru 2 cycles. Back to the washer. It shreds my towels. Ive read where other consumers have had this same problem. These are expensive towels. So, only 7 yrs. into ownership and I am replacing this junk with the old school washer/dryer. Unlike the Cabrio washer, I will have a washer with an agitator that will actually clean my clothing. Whirlpool manufactures trash and the Cabrio duo was the worse purchase I have ever made. Do not purchase Whirlpool and definitely do not purchase Cabrio.

I purchased an appliance package Whirlpool Gold series that included a range, refrigerator and dishwasher. This was approximately 3 years ago. The range has already been replaced by Whirlpool after having it repaired twice and, finally, following the complete breakdown on Thanksgiving with turkey in oven. The refrigerator has broken twice and the computer box that controls all functions was replaced twice. The compressor goes off randomly and is currently off again at the moment. I woke up this morning to this and the temp inside is around 50 degrees. Needless to say the food inside is a loss. I will never purchase any Whirlpool appliance again. These were not inexpensive appliances by the way.

This has been the worst purchase I have ever made! Within 2 months of it going out of its one year warranty I called (Lowes) to have it repaired. Spent $300 on the first repair to get rid of the jet engine sound AND the oil splatter all over the floor then within one month from that repair it has a F code error and wont finish washing a load. It just stops. I have tried everything from unplugging it to restarting and it just wont work. Now have to wait 1 week for the repairman to come back out (hopefully that warranty of 90 days will be helpful). Do Not Buy this machine!!!

At after 4 years of use, my double door refrigerator is giving cooling problem. Upper refrigerator part has excessive cooling and lower part has no cooling... after complaints in customer care, engineer was sent who changed the part that regulates auto cut... it gets blocked by ice so cooling air is not reaching lower part. Once changed exactly after 5 days same problem started... In spite of complaints no one came to check for good 2 wks. After long fight, it was defective board that was changed again. After 3 days same problem again, board was changed... Now after 2 and half month same problem. And now today service center has replied that engineer will be sent after one week.

Was baking a pie when suddenly noticed the electric range had caught fire underneath the bottom of the oven. I could see partially through the slits inside that the heating element was on fire. Could not get to heating element as it covered. Shut the door and turned the oven off so the fire would die out. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. I was baking pecan pie. Whirlpool is no longer a quality brand. Washing machine bought at the same time has been repaired twice since owning. Also, Aqualift technology is a joke. It doesnt remove any messes burned during cooking. I wish Id stayed away from this complaint. Bought a stove, washer, and dryer. Dryer has been the only appliance we havent had a problem with. We saved over a year to ripped off by Whirlpool. I expected a washer and stove to last far longer than 3 years. Actually would be 3 yrs come December. So disappointed.

I purchased a Whirlpool washer and dryer from Sears in April of this year. Here, to date, I had to call four Toms to have this unit repaired. I contacted Sears to have the unit replaced. I believe this particular unit needs to be recalled. Sears informed me that the unit must be assessed by one of their qualified/certified technicians before a request to be valid. I have concerns about this statement. Employees will not go against their company in fear of retaliation. In addition, I paid cash for the unit and now cannot get my money back. I’m dissatisfied with Sears and their values.

I dont know who is the bigger idiot. The designer of this washer or me for not reading the countless bad reviews. I bought a Whirlpool 4.3 CU FT TL WTW5000DW machine on 7/19/2015. It does not come close to cleaning clothes. It now takes me three times longer to do laundry because I have to check every piece of clothing for any stains. These are minor stains mind you but, they will not come out unless I use something like Spray and Wash. My time is valuable, maybe I should drag my clothes to the river and beat them on a rock. Very disappointed.

My Whirlpool French Door refrigerator will have its TWO year old birthday on September 15, 2015.. only if it lives that long! On August 8, one month and one week short of its 2nd birthday the compressor died. Of course the manufacturers warranty expired after one year. Thankfully, I purchased an extended warranty through the retailer. While this will cover my repairs, there is nothing that will cover the hundreds of dollars worth of spoiled frozen and refrigerated products which had to be discarded. I will NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER WHIRLPOOL PRODUCT!

Ive had it with Whirlpool products. I am now getting rid of my third Whirlpool microwave in just eight years. Every one of them had the same exact problem and Whirlpool continues to deny there is a manufacturing defect. Each of them developed a hairline crack extending through the bottom screw of the door handle to the glass on one side and the outside door frame on the other. They will do nothing about it and claim it is just a coincidence. No more Whirlpool ever!

Recently had a Whirlpool gas water heater installed. Would smell gas every time the heater kicked on. I inspected the vent, all the new fittings, with no luck. Leaving the windows open didnt help. Finally found the problem: the factory-installed line from the gas control valve to the tank was leaking. Should have kept my old heater. It was still working flawlessly after 20 years. Purchased the Sears Oasis (made by Whirlpool) washer and dryer almost 4 years ago and I have worked on these machines more than the Maytag machine and dryer I used for over 22 years. Electronic and mechanical problems. One recurring problem is loose change working its way into the drain pump on the washer and it knocks a hole in the side of the housing. You later discover it when you go down to the basement and find about 50 gallons on water on the floor. Very poor design! Never happened the first time with the Maytag.

Cabrio washer 2015 model - The worst washer in 40 years. Everytime I use it I ask myself why did you buy this? Sure it conserves the amount of water but I havent noticed a nickel in savings because you have to wash the same load a couple of times. Since the days of cleaning in a stream clothes have been beaten to remove soil. How in gods name was I fooled into thinking this washer would actually clean our clothes. I put a folded tablecloth in it and when I emptied it the tablecloth was still folded. IF YOU NEED A CLOTHES WASHER TO ACTUALLY CLEAN CLOTHES, DONT BUY THE KIND WITHOUT AN AGITATOR. First of all, I did not want to give a rating of one. Your system forced me
First of all, I did not want to give a rating of one. Your system forced me to. They do not even rate one star.In summary of the below, I did not fail to communicate from the moment we received our appliance and Whirlpool in short intentionally wasted time to let the warranty run out to avoid replacing a lemon of a dryer. Please read details below. We bought our new dryer (model WED9400SZ) on 10/24/10 with a one year service & parts warranty from Appliance Smart in Apple Valley, MN. In March 2010, we called in to Whirlpool customer service to relay our issues & to arrange for service & repair after a few months of noticing holes in our clothing (at first thinking it was the new Whirlpool washer making the holes).Although we purchased the unit in late October, we didnt use it for the first time until late November (1 month later) as we just bought our home & took four weeks to paint the entire home before moving in. Then on December 29, 2010, we left for a three week vacation to Mexico & again hadnt used the dryer during that time. Returning home, we started to use the new washer & dryer (in late January 2011) but had thought it was perhaps the washer making the holes & it took us until to March for Whirlpools preferred service repair providers to determine that the holes were coming from the dryer. I do not have a reference number to refer to for the complaints to Whirlpool as I was not provided one. They only always asked for our delivery address which is: xxxxx ****, Lakeville, MN.The issue of the dryer making noticeable holes in our clothing and in one instance chopped a sock completely in half (both pieces found within the dryer drum not stuck behind the drum or sucked into another area of the dryer) has been consistently ongoing and to date has not been fixed. On several occasions, I expressed my concern to Whirlpool customer service as well as to managers (because the case had been elevated to where they had managers and review boards looking at the problem more closely) as we were getting closer and closer to the warranty expiration and the dryer had not been fixed. Routinely, I was told that regardless of the warranty expiring, if its the same issue that persists and had not been resolved while within the warranty date, they would continue to honor the warranty by continuing to try to fix the problem or replace the unit at no additional cost to me if necessary.Whirlpool had escalated this repair issue (multiple times) to their review board and determined that the dryer was indeed repairable and continued to send out Twin City Appliance to repair it. Finally, just 23 days out of warranty, Whirlpool deemed the dryer should be replaced, but at the cost of a new machine $370 to us (which they somehow prorated to get that figure). We paid $399.98 plus tax for our supposedly new dryer so clearly this is an unexcitable resolution. In speaking to Rhonda this morning, she further prorated the new dryer replacement cost to $260 to include installation and another one year warranty and gave us until December 21, 2011 to take advantage of.This product never worked from day one (a lemon) and has caused roughly $400 in damage to our clothing (all photographed for proof). This has further resulted in me missing work to let in repairmen & and taking great amount of time to lay out out wet clothing around our house to air dry (again, all photographed. ) This has caused extreme stress for me in spending hours and hours on the phone with Whirlpool and repair people (cell phone records of dates & conversation length as proof). I have also developed great anxiety attacks in using our dryer, scared at the outcome of which of our clothing will be ruined. After having two different service repair companies (A&E Factory Service and Twin City Appliance, both in MN) at Whirlpools insistence come to our home on more than 10 occasions within the year warranty to determine the cause & try and repair the faulty machine, this proposed resolution by Whirlpool is absolutely unacceptable. It is important to me as a consumer the this issue is formally filed with a reputable institution (BBB). I feel we have no choice at this point but to contact our lawyer and take this issue up in the courts. Resolution proposed:I am seeking a replacement of our dryer at the equivalent or greater value than the model we purchased and a letter of apology from the CEO or equivalent position in their corporation as I want to know that this poor level of customer service provided by their company was indeed brought to their attention. I am also asking for $400 to replace our damaged clothing. When this goes to court if not resolved via the BBB, I will ask for pain and suffering damages as well. This has been an unbearable chapter for our family this year, one that has weighed heavy on us and caused great stress, anxiety and loss of money and time. I am in shock that a worldwide corporation with the longevity and commercial history and quality service that Whirlpool was known for cannot admit that this lemon we purchased is a (most likely) rare instance and step up to the plate and demonstrate integrity and show value for their customers by doing the right thing. Time after time their customer service reps promised I had nothing to worry about and that if the machine could not be fixed even if it fell out of warranty, they would take care of the replacement of fixing it at no additional cost to me.

The first thing I noticed after purchasing this stove was that the glass top did not clean properly. I used the product given to me by Sears and tried several others but still could not take marks off of the glass top. I never really used the oven that much until retired and started baking often. The self clean does not work at all unless by self clean they mean that you yourself cleans -- I should say scrub it down. I previously had a regular self clean and it truly self cleaned. All I did was take wet paper towel and wipe out. Yet when I asked the Sears saleswoman about how it cleans I was told that it was terrific -- I would not have any problems! What a laugh!

In the first year of my Whirlpool Washing Machine, the motor quit working entirely. Fortunately, the machine was under a 1-year warranty and the motor was replaced by a Whirlpool service technician. My big complaint with this washing machine is this: Even though you select hot water for the wash cycle, the machine has sensors in it that only allow the water to get lukewarm. If it senses the water getting too hot, it adds cold water to bring the wash temperature back down to 78 degrees F. Next time I will do my research and buy a machine that actually allows one to use hot water.

I purchased a new gas water heater from Lowes and paid a plumber to install it. I have been having problems with it staying lit. Once I noticed the issue, I notified my plumber and the plumber was aware of this on-going issue with these water heaters. The plumber told me to call Whirlpool and have them send me a new thermocouple. Ive been putting it off until now, but realized today over the phone with Whirlpool Customer Service that the problem is with the vent. The manual that came with the water heater has a horizontal venting installation, yet Whirlpool claims that it should be vented through to the roof and they sent me, via email, the correct manual. When I asked Whirlpool how the plumber was supposed to know, she said that he should have known that it was not the correct manual (even though there is no model number written anywhere in the instructions manual) and that we should call to make sure that we have the right manual before installing my next product. So, I need to double check every purchase I make! Or is this only with Whirlpool products? After speaking with two different Whirlpool reps, I have concluded that I need to purchase a new water heater, but believe me, it will not be another Whirlpool!

When my old one finally quit due to tank failure and out of warranty, I went to Lowes and bought a 6 year warranty hot water heater costing around $600. Now I figured you get what you pay for RIGHT! WRONG! So about 2 years ago the pilot light started to just go out on occasion, a bit of an inconvenience but there was no default code warning me of any other issues. So typically we just relight it. I called Whirlpool to get help with this issue, but they wanted me to pay for a technician to diagnose the problem. Um isnt that what the warranty is for? I said dont bother. Im not paying $150 for someone to tell me what I already know. Ill just keep relighting it myself. So finally the pilot light goes out for the 100th time but this time I go to reignite it and BOOM! It sounded like a twelve gauge shot gun going off in my face! Then it flutters flames into the chimney of the hot water heater. Scared the crap out of me at first. But it finally stopped and run fine. Well Im laying in bed a few nights later and woke up to a loud thumping noise, I go down stairs and it stops. The following day Im in the kitchen and THUMP THUMP THUMP BURP BURP BURP. Run over to the hot water heater closet and theres the flames shooting out of the gas valve into the hot water heater then BOOM! Its out! The valve unit finally took a crap I guess. I call Whirlpool again to get my warranty - this time it definitely needs to be replaced. So the guy tells me the parts are covered in the warranty but a technician needs to look at it first and the technician Ill have to pay.. Excuse me but what the ** did you just say? I have to pay for a technician to look at your failing part? No I dont think so! Just send me the part - Ill replace it myself. Im a millwright electrician by trade. I specialize in power plants and refineries. Im sure this little gas valve wont be a problem. I spoke with these idiots on a Friday and he said I could have it ground shipped for free and it should be here in 5-6 days or pay extra for quicker delivery. What the hell did he just say? I could pay extra for quicker delivery on Whirlpools faulty part? ** whirlpool should be saying Well have the part overnight to you.Now since it was a 3 day weekend theres no sense in me paying $40 to have it delivered 3 day because it still wouldnt arrive until close to the five day. So I just looked to see where my damn part is because it shouldve been here by now according to the guy on the phone. NOPE! Its set to be delivered in 5 more ** days. DONT BUY A WHIRLPOOL PRODUCT. THEY DO NOT PRACTICE ETHICS.

I love my Whirlpool 4.7 cu. ft. top load washer because it has a pretreat station that is super handy for pretreating stains in a handy little place. The agitator is stronger than my old washer and really gets my clothes cleaner. Its also very quiet and easy to use all the buttons. The best feature is the deep water fill that you can select for more water.

We purchased this washer in April two years ago. I have had service people out twice to replace the lid. Tonight, my husband comes into the kitchen with chunks of something that I could not readily identify. He tells me the entire frame holding the light has rusted out and that the light is hanging into the tub! I followed him into our air conditioned interior laundry room and placed my hand under the rim. It’s filled with rust and the light is dangling down into the tub!

I bought a front loading Whirlpool washer a few years ago after having my old top loading Kenmore for 25 years. It seemed okay, but I did always have to leave the front door open and it always smelled musty, which was of some concern. My clothes never smell totally fresh. The biggest current problem is that several months ago it started with a failure code, alternately would stop without draining, wouldnt fill, or wouldnt drain, and ultimately ended up flooding my basement. So we called for service and they replaced a sensor and said these machines seem to have a lot of service issues with sensors blowing and motors dying. So I paid them that time. Now its a month or two later, failure code again, calling for service one more time. But if it costs too much I will join the legions of dissatisfied Whirlpool customers and will switch to an upright competitors brand.

I have a Whirlpool Cabrio washer (Model: wtw6400sw2 / Serial Number: cu0271913) and I am very disappointed with it. The spin cycle is the worst--sounds like a jet engine and gives me the UL error message of unbalance load. The machine was purchased in 2007 but was kept indoors. I contacted customer service and they advised me to contact the repair service in my area to get a diagnostic analysis of the issue. Hello! I already know what the problem is after reading all these reviews! I cannot tell you how pissed off I am. I will never purchase anything Whirlpool and I will contact BBB as soon as possible. Come on, fellow complainants, let us continue to fight to get a possible recall soon! We all have the same problem because this is a manufacturing defect!

Once again I told both whirlpool and Home Depot that I did not want this dishwasher and to pick it up. Its a piece of junk. The only time it will finish a wash and spin dry is when it is empty. Otherwise, it stops and lists an unbalanced error code. I opened up the service panels and found no broken hangers or clothes. There’s no way to bypass the system. I have read of similar issues and of course, its just out of warranty. I had a perfectly good Kenmore range, but I didnt like the color. I purchased a Whirlpool 30-inch gas range at Lowes. I had problems immediately! The repairmen were at my house 6 times within the first year. My warranty expired and they wanted me to pay for an extended warranty. I refused to pay any more for this piece of junk! I fought with Whirlpool and demanded they either replace the range or reimburse me the full cost. They finally agreed, after many heated conversations, to replace or reimburse me as long as I promised not to purchase a Whirlpool product again. What kind of company would say that? A company that knows their product is defective and has poor customer service. I opted to take the new range that they promised wouldnt have the same problems. It is having the same issues as the original one. It shuts off in the middle of cooking and it is infuriating to say the least. I can promise Whirlpool I will never purchase a product from them ever again!

We purchased our oven in February 2012. In April 2013, we began smelling gas. I called the gas company. They came within thirty minutes and determined the gas was coming from within the oven by using a gas detecting probe. The gas was turned off by the gas company. I contacted an appliance company who came out for $95.00 and used some type of spray looking device to check for leakage or bubbles to tell us we had no problem. Our warranty was only good for the one year. The appliance company ripped us off and Whirlpool was a bad deal. After reading of all the complaints of Whirlpool, I will not buy Whirlpool ever again. We have had the Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer for 4 years now. Let me start off by saying the first 6 months was wonderful. Then after that, the machines were breaking down every time we turned around at the worst times. With 2 adults and 4 children, you see my point. We have had a repairman at our house to fix these machines 6 times and now, we are getting a code on our washer that is F1. Looking up codes online shows to be the computer system of the machine and a $400-$600 repair, might I add. Please save your money and buy a better and more dependable set than Whirlpool. Washers and dryers used to last 20-25 years, or so my parents and grandparents did. All of the manufacturers are building cheap junk so we can buy them more often.

I bought a new Whirlpool refrigerator at Home Depot for about $700. Six months later, suddenly, it starts making an intermittent but constant loud grinding noise and then the squeaking started. I called Home Depot first because I bought the protection plan. They referred me to Whirlpool who said the protection plan doesn’t kick in until another year after the warranty ends. It makes these noises whenever it runs, which seems to be more often (that it is running). Whirlpool may still charge $120 just for someone to come look at it even though it is under warranty. I asked another repair place and they said it might void my warranty for them to look at it instead. Whirlpool said it wouldn’t void the warranty but they would only work on it after the first repair person was finished. I’m waiting for the repair guy to come and see why it is making these loud noises. Another person with more knowledge of fridges than I have listened to the noises and said it sounds like friction in a motor. I read a review of the fridge that said the reviewer had problems after only 6 months and I thought that must be a fluke. Apparently not.

Well, this saga continues. Whirlpool dishwasher was purchased at the HH Gregg on Rockville Road on March 17, 2012. Whirlpool dishwasher broke down on May 17, 2012. I bought the extended warranty but who cares? HH Gregg doesnt because it does not go into effect until a year after purchase. So since its less than year, I called Whirlpool, who sent someone out a week later, who, of course, cannot fix the brand new dishwasher because 2 parts had to be ordered. This was almost 2 weeks ago! I still have not heard from the company, A & E, who works for Whirlpool here in Indy. Whirlpool called me on Monday to tell me theyre sorry and blah, blah, and will try to find part in five more days. Then ship it to me, and, of course, it will probably take another week for the maintenance man to fix it. I mean, I grew up having to wash dishes by hand, so no big problem. But when you spend $600 to $800 for a supposedly nice product to enjoy the leisure time of your life and get extended warranties, you expect it to work for at least 6 months before breaking down. So be warned. Do not buy Whirlpool, and furthermore, beware of buying extended warranties and appliances at HH Gregg.

Compressor arrived the next day however they could not come back until the following Monday to install. By this time I was without a refrigerator for 9 days. Techs installed new compressor and by Tuesday it quit cooling again! Tech came out the next day and said he thought the problem was the compressor and now says its the evaporator. I had to wait until the next week before they would come and install the new evap. By that time I will be without a refrig/freezer for 16 days. I have had a plumbing company work on my Whirlpool water heater three times in the last two months. On the third visit, he told me all the problems customers have had with Whirlpool water heaters. I decided to call Whirlpool for warranty purposes. The unit is three years old. I was told that it was the gas valve, and I was given a free one from Lowes. After installing the new valve, it still did not work properly. After troubleshooting with a technician, I was told it was the orifice. I have had to do all the labor myself, and I dont know how long this is going to go on. I have heard Whirlpool will continue to give you the runaround (from the plumbing company and Lowes salesmen) and will continue to give you the runaround and not replace the unit. On October 29, 2009, we bought a new Whirlpool 30 gallon gas hot water heater to replace a Rheem we had for 20 years. We immediately had problems with the relief valve leaking, so we ran at the local hardware store and bought another valve. Next, we had trouble lighting it (husband was a plumber years ago) but a call to the hotline and we were in business. Now just over 3 years later, the pilot light started to cut off at will. Troubleshooting solved nothing. We called the hotline again and were given a part number, an authorization number and told to go back to Lowes for a replacement part. Figuring how our luck runs, I called first and was told there was no such part number. Trip saved. Now after reading all of these reviews, we have decided to cut our losses and buy another Rheem. You can find the Whirlpool hot water heater sitting beside our 2-year-old Kenmore HE washing machine (also made by Whirlpool) on the garbage pile. No more Whirlpool!

We bought a top loaded Whirlpool washer, model WTW5000DW2 last May from Lowe’s for a summer beach cottage. It has been a terrible experience. There was a 30 day warranty from Lowe’s which unfortunately we missed because we had not moved down for the summer till after the 30 days. Working through Whirlpool, they sent an independent contractor out 5 times over the summer. Control panel was replaced twice. It never worked properly. I’m now back for the summer, and it still does not work. Do not buy this washer.

Model WTW7600XOW, installed 12/9/2010. For about 4 months this washer has sounded like a jet plane when spinning. I called Whirlpool to see if it was recalled or what they recommended. They provided 2 repair places near me. The repair shops recommended buying a new washer since the repair is so costly. A 4 year old washer used by 2 people should have bearings that last more than 4 years.

My side-by-side lasted 2 years 3 months. It stopped cooling. Lost all my food. Inconvenienced by waiting for repair service. Had to take a vacation day from work. This refrigerator replaced a 13 yr old GE and the one in my garage is 25+ years old and still going strong. No help from Whirlpool or Lowes. I will never own a Whirlpool anything ever again.

I purchased a Cabrio top-loading high efficiency low water washer thinking I was doing something for the environment by saving on water and electricity. After about a month, I noticed that my clothes especially those with stretchable fabric were getting larger. My husband kept telling me I was imagining it. Then the clothes would get all tangled especially the pants with ties on the waistband. At the end of the cycle, the clothes are stuck on the sides of the washer and I have to pull them apart. Even after drying, I have to iron everything even my pillowcases which look like they have shrunk they are so wrinkled. I recently bought some 100% cotton outfits and they are even more wrinkled and are starting to lose their shape. I am now noticing that the stains on the clothing are not coming out even when I use a spot remover and put them through a second time. Now I started to notice an odor coming from the machine and my towels and wash clothes have a sour smell. I paid $600 for this machine and after reading the reviews, I just want to replace it. I am now waiting for it to break down. My husband kept insisting I must be doing something wrong. When it goes into the spin cycle, it bounces all around and I have to push it back in place when it is done. I do not think the clothes are getting rinsed enough so now I put them through a second rinse and always put it on low spin. It doesnt see to matter, it sounds like a rocket ready to take off. Is it even worth it to go back to Lowes where I buy all my appliances?

Whirlpool makes a beautiful product that does not last. I bought model WRX988SIBM in April 2015. Two years later the compressor is bad and no warranty coverage. Do not buy this model. It does not carry the Whirlpool 2-5 year sealed refrigeration warranty. Its amazing that an appliance that retails over $3K only comes with a 1 year sealed refrigeration warranty when Whirlpool offers it on other models. Be sure you know what your warranty coverage is before you buy any Whirlpool product.

I purchased the unit in May 2012. Right out of the box on the first day, the tank was leaking water from where pressure relief valve screws into the tank. Whirlpool replaced the part from my local Lowe’s store which I had to go get on my dime and install myself to solve the problem. Its now the 2nd week of January and the water heater is dead. I didnt even get 8 months out of this water heater that has a 12 year warranty. The electronic thermostat died, and I will be going 3 to 4 days without hot water until Whirlpool can ship me another thermostat. Nothing like taking an ice cold shower in the middle of winter. Like I said, buyers beware!

17 month old Whirlpool duet washer door lock broke. ($300) repair! Had given my old (13 years) set to daughter when I moved. That set has never had a repair or problem! Why do they keep making things with more bells and whistles we dont need and so cheaply made? Frustrated, annoyed and becoming cynical in middle age.

This Whirlpool dishwasher is the worst dishwasher I have had in 45 years of using dishwashers. I have bought dishwashers, but now rent and so am stuck with this one. Initially, I complained to the landlord about the dishwasher not getting the dishes clean, so the repairman came and recommend replacement. Unfortunately, it was replaced with the same brand. The new one didnt wash any better than the old one so I pre-rinsed everything and the dishes still come out with sprayed dried food on them. The spray holes in the arms fill with food no matter how thoroughly I rinse the dishes. The silverware in the door rarely is clean. The filter is always coated with food particles. The top shelf is always worse than the bottom shelf. I have used inexpensive GEs before and nothing compares to the poor quality of the whirlpool.

This washing machine has been the worst machine I have ever owned - I have called Paddys Market on several occasions to have a repairman come out and take a look at this machine, which they did - but the machine never got any better - it has never ever washed my clothes properly its a piece of garbage - clothes come out dirtier than when they went in and sometimes come out dry. Its so busy trying to save water - it doesnt use hardly any - and forget doing bigger loads - I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER WHIRLPOOL product again.

Owner of 20 apartments, 16 of them have electric water heaters and 4 have natural gas units. Have replaced over the years all 20 water heaters. 19 of them were replaced with Whirlpool units bought at our local Lowes. It is my opinion that they are very unreliable. The tanks rust out in NO time. The electric units last just a little better than the gas units but still terrible. Of the 4 gas units so far I have had to replace 3 of them and the longest one lasted 6 years and 7 months!! One of them was just over 6 years and the other was 9 days away from warranty expiring. They replaced that one. If you have no other choice make sure to buy extended warranty if available. They just dont last!!

Installed in May 2007, paid $674 for GU2455XTSS1 Whirlpool Dishwasher. It required service in March 2009 for $158 It became noisy in Oct 2011, so I placed a service call for $136. It was very noisy in Jan 2012. Again, I placed service call for an additional $93 that Whirlpool has not reimbursed. I must now replace the motor quoted at $403. The motor has a 90-day warranty. The 4.5 year old dishwasher must now be replaced. Whirlpool has not responded to email and to registered letter requesting a cost-effective solution to repair dishwasher that recognizes that reasonable life of the unit should be 10+ years and not 4.5 years.

I purchased Whirlpool front load washing machine (Sport 1072 CB) in March 2013 and since then it has been my worst nightmare. Buying a Whirlpool washing machine was one of the worst decisions I took. The problems started to come from the first month itself. Many parts have changed and are still being done. I am continuously requesting them to replace the machine but they have decided not to listen. The after sale service of Whirlpool is the worst in the industry.

We purchased a brand new Whirlpool fridge & electric range. Tried the oven on 3/22/14. Turned it on at 350 for 30 minutes. Waited for the new smell to go away. Then turned the temp up to 375. My husband put a frozen lasagna dinner in. 25 minutes later the inside oven door window exploded into the oven and the dinner. Found out the outside window usually explodes. We were lucky. The dealer we bought it from let us exchange it right away. Filed a report with the CSPC and am trying to find out how to file a complaint with Whirlpool.

Whirlpool appliance suite purchased May 2013. Whirlpool Gold French door refrigerator with bottom freezer, Model #GX5FHTXV. At the end of my kitchen remodel, I was excited to have my new Whirlpool appliances delivered by an authorized Whirlpool installer. When the refrigerator install was complete, I alerted the delivery people the French doors were not aligned properly. There was at least 1/4 difference at the top of the doors. They did their best to fix the problem to no avail.I called the Specialty Appliance store to complain and they had a repair man come a few short days later to examine the issue. He inspected the problem and had to order new door parts. A few long weeks later, the repair man came to install the new parts. Well, to my disgust, the new parts did not fix the problem. This next sentence only refers to the place I bought the darn thing. I then called Specialty Appliance to inquire about returning the appliance and of course they wouldnt take the appliance. Im stuck with it. The workman ship is cheap. The internal drawers are poor at best. I spent a good deal of money on what I thought would be a good product. My previous appliance suite was Whirlpool and I NEVER had issues the 13 years I had them.Whirlpool Gold freestanding double oven gas range, Model #GGG388LX. Problem: oven catches fire while self-cleaning oven. Big problem. Takes forever to get rid of the smell that leaves behind. The range itself has worked well. No issues with cooktop and its easy to clean. The grates dont stay black and look rusted in a couple of places. Oven cooks well as I know how to make adjustments as to not overcook meals.Following cleaning instructions provided by Whirlpool, I wipe out the oven (when cool) after spills if there are any. I thought I would run the self clean since Ive had the appliance over a year to properly maintain it. BAD IDEA. After running the self clean cycle for about 35 min, I noticed fire. Wanting to protect my $60K remodel investment, I quickly cancelled the clean cycle and watched smoke pour out of the top. Not a fun experience. It took about 15 minutes for the fire inside the bottom compartment to finally go out. Wont be self cleaning my self-clean oven again! By the way, I didnt clean the oven with chemicals because the owners manual states not to and I HATE using those chemical anyway. Again, stuck with an appliance I am not satisfied with. Lesson learned? Yes, I will NEVER buy a Whirlpool product again. Kinda wish I still had my old white ones...

My washing machine quit working with one month left on the warranty. In trying to schedule repair I was never able to talk to a live person. Via chat and online scheduling they could not or would not come out for 10 days. Also they would not approve use of a local repairman who was willing to work on it in 2 days. Waiting 10 days for service on a washing machine is crazy.

I bought a Whirlpool Gold refrigerator four years ago, June 2012. Today, 9/20/16, I found out that the ice maker has to be replaced to the tune of $350! The repair person told me that Whirlpool has the worst track record, and of his service calls, he has at least three to five Whirlpool refrigerators per week! This is a terrible lack of quality. When youre spending over $2,000 for a refrigerator, you expect it to work for more than four years. Not only that, but I have e-mailed Whirlpool Customer Service twice and have been ignored completely. This is my last Whirlpool product, and I urge you to stay away from them. Samsung has a much better track record.

My stainless steel french door refrigerators compressor quit working and needed replaced after 3 years and 10 months. I had to buy a replacement kit and it cost 400.00. The repairman cost 175.00. I tried to buy an extended warranty but they do not sell them. You get a 1 year warranty. The repairman told me you will be very lucky if you get 4 years out of the replacement. He said all of the new compressors are really junk. Remember when refrigerators used to last 30 to 40 years. Not anymore. It is a money racket. Do not buy anything Energy Star, it is all junk. I have gone through 5 washing machines in 18 years, and I live here by myself.
