I bought a Whirlpool fridge in June of 2014 and the plastic part of the stainless steel handle that attaches it to the fridge broke about a month or so later. After replacing the fridge because the company said they no longer made the part they gave me a new fridge and with that one the door would not close without leaving a gap of about 1/3rd of an inch open at the hinge side. They took that fridge back and sent me a new fridge. A week later I got in the mail a handle for the first fridge which I no longer had. About a week after that I noticed that the latest and third fridges handle had a crack in the same place. Whirlpool sent me 5 replacement parts and they were all defective with the same crack visible in the replacements. Finally I got a replacement handle that looked good and it broke today, Feb 6th 2016, in the same place as the first one. I should mention that each time the company replaced the fridge it was with a different and better model and each with a slightly different handle. There are other design flaws with the fridge. The door is in a corner and there are cabinets on the wall so the door can only open slightly more than 90 degrees which makes it impossible to open the crisper drawer enough to get a cabbage in it and if I want to clean the crisper drawer I must move and turn the fridge in the kitchen. Also if the crisper drawer is not closed completely it causes the guard rail on the bottom door shelf to fly off sending everything on the bottom shelf to fall to the floor. Fun when some are made of glass and filled with liquid. You would think I would have learned my lesson about this company but no! I went to Lowes and bought a Whirlpool dishwasher and when I saw that the automatic door would not open enough to dispense the soap, powder or packet I called a certified Whirlpool repairman who told me after receiving a duplicate that of course would not work either, that there was no solution to the problem and I went back to Lowes and bought a Samsung and my problems were solved. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER Whirlpool or as I now call it, Whirledpoo, product, EVER.

They sold me a washer that did not work. First load failed and the machine locked closed. Error E1 F9. Took 7 days for technicians to open the machine. The laundry was rancid by then. Needed a new drain pump motor, which was installed 37 days later. Whirlpool offered $150 for my loss of clothing. Ridiculous. Value $900, I asked for $500. Awful.

A couple of years ago I replaced my Whirlpool gas range because after seven years, the house was growing a gas smell that was becoming stronger. I called the gas company and they determined that it was the oven and not their problem. I called an appliance person who could not find the leak but charged me for the service call. Before I had him leave though, I called the gas company back and had the two talk. There was a conflict with their assessments. The service guy left frustrated. The gas company guy came back and again checked and told me that the oven is definitely leaking. He told me they use instruments, not soap, to determine leaks. With this, I was mad at the appliance company. After voicing my frustration, they were going to allow me to purchase a similar new Whirlpool freestanding gas range at a discount and deliver it for free. I relented and spent close to $600 for the new range. After installation, I realized that the quality was cheaper than my old one. The metal rods in the oven racks are thinner and less of them so they are further apart. The cooktop grates are already wearing and chipping. But the thing that has irked me the most is the burners. You cant adjust them to low for a long simmer because the flame goes out, not immediately, but when youre not around to watch it; and the whole house smells of gas fumes! I called the appliance store and they said that because I didnt buy an extended warranty and that a year has already passed, I would have to pay for the service charge. I called Whirlpool and they said that they have not encountered this problem with their stoves yet. Even while on the phone, I could turn every burner on separately and the flame would go out in a circular motion as I turned the knob to low. The only suggestion they had was to call my appliance company and have them look at it. I got nowhere and I was quite frustrated! These Whirlpool stoves should be recalled! Gas leaks are dangerous! I will never buy a Whirlpool again!

Originally, I loved my machine. At the one year mark, my washing machine began a f51 error code. I looked it up and it had a recall. The entire board had to be replaced. Now, I keep getting a ul code and it will not quit. Also, the inside of the top is rusting out so badly that chunks of rust fall into the washing machine and stain my clothes. I wish Whirlpool would fix these common errors. I see many other people complaining online that the same thing is happening over and over.

When you shell out the money for a new water heater you expect it to work the first time. Mine did not. Luke warm water was all that we could achieve. After going through the troubleshooting steps we could not clearly define the problem. So they ordered me the parts and sent them to me. The parts were for the old model control unit and does not mate up with the wiring that is in the unit. The representative was put back in that they had no idea how that happened. And, no wrench came with the thermostat just another thing to spend money on. I told them I have had it. Then they say that this is a manufacturers defect and they can provide me with a list of repair technicians in the area. I gave them one star because I could not give them zero. They should have lead off with the service technician. Still not repaired. I will keep you updated.

Bought this dishwasher (Model No WDF530PAYB3) in 2013. First the plastic latch for the dishwasher detergent door broke. Then, the paint on the face of the door started to bubble, peel, and now is rusting. Next, the heating element broke. Lastly, it started leaked on my wood floor causing damage. 2013-2014 I bought that Dishwasher, Micro-Hood, Stove, Refrigerator, Washer, and Dryer all Whirlpool. All the kitchen appliances were Whirlpool Gold. They would not fix their product. Offered a discount on a new one as if I will ever buy Whirlpool again.

Whirlpool Cabrio - Our washing machine just started leaking water with oil underneath. This would be our third repair since purchasing this machine but it doesnt sound like a repair is possible or worth it. Its too bad we cant go back to the old models. They definitely lasted longer with no problems. Companies should make the older models bigger and forget about the front loaders and newer models without the agitators. Too much shaking in the machine causes too many repairs!

You can put many items in the top and bottom and the utensil basket can be moved for better cleaning or more room. We bought our dishwasher April 2018. This morning I noticed the paint had bubbled above the heat vent (area 3x 1/2). Upon closer inspection, the the paint was also peeling. We called the company to see if they would replace the skin but the agent said the only thing they could do was send us touch-up paint. The door is considered cosmetic & only covered for 30 days. If we wanted to replace the door panel, we were welcome to buy one from them. However as this seems to be a manufacturing defect, we would be replacing the door every 16 months. When we realized whirlpool wouldnt back their product, my husband looked a little closer to see what needed to be done & found that it had rusted under the paint & painting on top of rust will adhere properly.

We bought a Whirlpool microwave model # GH7208XRY4 at the Habitat For Humanity store. It was brand new still in the unopened box with the warranty card in the box. The box was undamaged and in perfect shape. We loved this microwave until six months later, it started to throw a code F6 and wouldnt work - it wouldnt turn on or off and we couldnt use it at all. Since this is an under the cabinet model, it was a little hard to uninstall it as its a built-in. I called the customer service center and they dont cover it because the ordinal purchase date was 2012, we bought it in Oct 2014. I guess someone bought it in 2012. They say that since the ordinal purchase date was 2012, they dont warranty. They also said because I had bought it from the ReStore, it was a donated item and would cover it. I told them the box was unopened and it worked for several months, so their stand was it might have been damaged when I bought it. Again I told them it worked for 6 months, so how could it have been damaged when I bought it? They were very unhelpful.

Whirlpool Cabrio - What a nightmare. One year in… from the beginning the washer completes a cycle without attention. It gets stuck in a rinse cycle and eventually stops with an FF error display. Because of this it wastes HUGE quantities of water and takes far too long to actually wash clothes. It is so frustrating. We will buy a new Bosch and THROW this way. We cant even pass it on to our grandchildren.

I bought a Whirlpool refrigerator (dbl dr) from Home Depot and received it on August 4th. When I went to clean it I found that blood had spilled from a roast and had accumulated all around the inside of the plastic shelf seal. It was impossible to clean. Water just ran inside the seal and diluted the blood. Then, it leaked all over my kitchen. I had a serviceman here for another problem, sent by Whirlpool. He said hed try to get them to replace the shelf. Never heard from him again. I called Whirlpool today. Was told I could buy another shelf. Otherwise, they didnt care. Said it wasnt a functional problem. This is a definite health hazard. Whirlpool used to be wonderful. What happened? I have a dryer, washer, and water tank about to need replacing. Whirlpool wont see a dime from me. (Home Depot, either.) This has become a very bad company. Ive contacted the NY Dist. Attys office. Meanwhile, I have a fridge with a major shelf missing for the holidays and for the foreseeable future.

When my dryer died my wife and I decided to get both a new washer & dryer. I kick myself for two reasons. My 15-year-old washer which worked fine I replaced, and I didnt check reviews before buying. What a mistake. The eco-friendly Whirlpool washer designed to save energy doesnt clean close, my towels are the worse. Coming out of a shower and using a freshly washed towel to dry off and it smelling like it had never been washed tears it for me. Im hoping like many others they will rebate or even better recall and pay back the money I spent on a worthless washing machine! So, if Whirlpool wont do the right thing, I will do my best to warn others to not buy this top loading piece of **.

My Brother-In-Law bought a Whirlpool Gas Water Heater from Lowes last year. The Water Heater was still under warranty and would not stay lit. He called Whirlpool and they told him to send them a picture of where the water heater was installed (really? a picture). They told him he could not order the replacement part which was a Thermopile because he had to have a licensed person install it? Really? In your own home? My husband finally got Lowes to order the part because Whirlpools only help was for him to purchase a new water heater and Lowes would give him 10% off a new one. Lowes and Whirlpool have a monopoly on water heaters. Whirlpool is the only brand that Lowes sells. So if you want your warranty to be good on a water heater DO NOT BUY WHIRLPOOL.

We purchased a side by side Whirlpool refrigerator/freezer in June 2011 and have had nothing but problems with this piece of crap appliance. Ice maker has been repaired 3 times, water line clogged twice because of freezing and thawing. Now the machine only cools both sides to 45 degrees F. I am having a repair person come out on Monday to tell me what is wrong but I am so upset with the poor workmanship of this product I dont want to put another dime into the repair. We paid $1100 on this and have paid at least $600 in repairs over the past 4 years!! I agree with all of the other comments on the poor manufacturing choices. We had a GE prior to this and it lasted 10 years but we had the same issues. Repairing it every few years. I am not sure what brand to purchase next. If anyone has a suggestion I would be open to it.

I purchased a Cabrio washing machine and discovered multiple repair issues
I purchased a Cabrio washing machine and discovered multiple repair issues over the last few months. I have had to replace a pump for $85 and now the machine will not complete a cycle. I found out the the whole thing is rusted above the barrel which is causing a leak in the back and leaving our floors covered in rust shavings. From my research and reading others reviews and issues, they pay for a serviceman to come out and still it does not solve the problem. My husband is a student in college and we are living off student loans. We bought this machine because we trusted that a Whirlpool would last and be a good investment. I am very displeased on this machine and doubt I will ever put my trust in Whirlpool again. I called to complain and got the typical response I have read others got. I am not paying for a service call when it will not fix the washer in the end. I plan to file complaint after complaint and encourage any class action suit against Whirlpool for producing a poor washing machine and misadvertisement on this machine. I will move forward in this. I feel that as consumers we have a right and should have a sense of ease when you spend $900 on a product that it should work and not give out as it has so quickly. If there has been multiple people with common complaints, then there should be a recall on this washing machine.

Whirlpool N50T61-403 - I bought this thing today 8.21.14 from Lowes. It is a Whirlpool 50-Gal water heater (6th sense) and was going to have it installed by their installer, but elected after seeing it was very similar to lining up with my old unit. I got it in and then filled it. After filling, I lit the pilot light per the instructions then turned the knob for heating it up. Success, the flame spread across the burners...then went out. The steady blink changed to the 2 blink code indicating a bad thermopile. It did not work - right out of the box. No plumber near me carries the part. Whirlpool has thus been pretty good about it offering to have someone come out at their cost... But if no one has the parts, that is no good. I am moving from this house so if we can get it to work, its the problem for the next owner. If not - Ill have to get an RMA and go back to Lowes... Then try the Rheem from Home Depot. Will see if they will overnight a part tomorrow. I found the other reviews - and I dont like it that this thing appears to have difficulty right out of the box.

Within 5 years, this is my experience: A broken brand new Whirlpool fridge after 6 months of purchase; a broken oven that needed repair after 1 year, and today, the oven door just shattered in pieces after I heard a loud noise from the kitchen, almost injured the kids. And guess what, I just returned a new Tilt-Head Stand Mixer KitchenAid that wouldnt stay in place; the head keeps on tilting and would not stay locked. After being on hold on the phone for almost 3 weeks for a return, I found out it was a Whirlpool brand family. This is horrible, I would suggest to never buy the Whirlpool brand; their products are a real nightmare and their customer service is not reliable. If you do buy from them, expect unreliable products and very long long wait periods on the phone.

My induction cooktop totally failed to work two months after installation. Whirlpool sent a repairman who told us it was the main board. He also said he was unable to locate any of that part anywhere in his computer. We called Whirlpool via our store, Ikea. They apologized, asked for 48 hours to locate a part, then said they would replace the cooktop if they were unable to find out. Almost 48 hours later, they hadnt located it and denied any replacement option. The parts cost is over $800. The cooktop cost just over $900. Whirlpool reps would only read from a script of legal warranty jargon. Then they said they needed 5 to 7 days. We had a baby visiting - we needed our stove. To me, an apology would be replacing that unit if the part wasnt available, not a verbal statement. Fortunately, we had the phone # of a local Ikea manager who told us to bring the cooktop to the store as they had them in stock. They replaced it with a new one. Over the years of my long life, I have bought many Whirlpool products. Never again. I need a washer and dryer, and will not be purchasing any associated with the Whirlpool Corporation. Thanks to Ikea, though, for standing by their customers.

Five years ago I bought a brand spanking new HE set with a top load washer, top of the line Whirlpool. That washer has been a piece of junk and getting it serviced has been a nightmare. It broke, i.e., the computer part, and was out of commission for FOUR MONTHS. I live on an island off of Alaska, luckily I rented one for the duration but STILL. That was an EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLAR MACHINE. I liked that they are new and shiny and look cool. I hate that the electronics broke after a few years. Ive had washers dryers that lasted TWENTY YEARS. The next set I buy will have plain buttons for cycles and NO ELECTRONICS. None. And still none. Electronics instead of plain buttons. Im not kidding, I will never buy another one with electronics. I bought a top of the line Whirlpool HE top loading set for over $1400 five years ago and that washer has been a bust. I have had a repairman out over 5 times and the last time he took it out and kept it in the shop for FOUR MONTHS. I will never buy a fancy set again. I will buy the old kind with the plain old buttons. Do not make this mistake yourself! Just buy a plain old one!

We recently purchased a refrigerator from a reputable local appliance store
We recently purchased a refrigerator from a reputable local appliance store after months of shopping and comparing and research. As an opinion, Whirlpool seemed to set the standard for a quality appliance. Unfortunately, we failed miserably by buying this side-by-side fridge. Two unsolvable problems. First, the cold side door is extremely difficult to open. Ive tried ALL gasket lube methods and failed. Second, the stainless steel used on the front of the machine is obviously low grade that accepts magnets and is almost impossible to clean weekly without streaking. They were kind enough to provide us with their special cleaner {free} but it takes about an hour and a half to use for moderate success. The lady on the help desk listened but seemed rather cold and uninterested in the problems. At this point, we would be willing to pay the extra and go to a Kitchen Aid instead. Our advise is beware of these types of issues and get some kind of guarantee from your store when buying a WHIRLPOOL refrigerator. This is simply terrible.

I purchased the Whirlpool touchscreen gas convection range and I do not recommend this product at all. The oven cannot operate without using the touchscreen to set the temperature and it has a mind of its own. Woke up in the middle of the night and the oven turned itself on to 550 broil. I called Whirlpool, they sent a tech out who replaced the touchscreen and the same problem is happening. Not engineered very well. The range would have been fine without the touchscreen, if only it had an old fashioned knob to set the temp. I do not recommend buying this appliance.

Bought this because it was a Whirlpool product and liked how it was supposed to work at the store, HhGregg in Downingtown. Anyway one week in we started having problems, clothes not being washed well, and constant problems of dripping wet clothes, like they were never spun at all. Would have to readjust all the clothes, respin, most times we have to that that every time we wash clothes and have to respin more than once and even then, clothes have too much water left in them, so it takes forever to get our clothes dry. We have a service contract with Sears, we have repairmen out a few times. Get told, dont wash towels in it, only do very small loads, supposed to be a large capacity washer, nothing wrong with it. Now its worse than ever, terrible product. I want a different washer, its rusting at the lid, its only at the most 2 yrs old, it was expensive and am very, very frustrated!!! I want what I paid For!!! Whirlpool, shame on you for putting out such crap.On to my next problem with a Whirlpool range, again bought it because it was a Whirlpool. We had our Kitchen remodeled and the range I had was white. We needed a stainless steel range, Bought the Gold series AquaLift convection oven. This is the most horrible piece of crap. The convection oven does not cook as a convection should, food takes forever to cook on convection, reg feature works faster and hotter than the convection. In my old range I used the convection feature always unless I was baking a cake. Then used the AquaLift feature to clean my oven, it was not dirty , but I like a sparkling oven, so followed the directions, set it to clean. It looked the same after it supposedly cleaned the oven. Nothing was cleaned, tried it again, it was a little more dirty, something had spilled. I wiped out the oven, used the AquaLift self cleaning feature again, same results, old oven, self clean, the oven after a cleaning cycle, only ash was left, wipe it out, it was spotless. So I called for repair, the repair guy was here about 5-6 different times, tried this and that, replaced a heating element in the oven, turned the temperature up in the oven, so now when I bake, I have to figure out what temp I need to put it on. Tried that, even admitted that the AquaLift feature was a bust. I contacted Whirlpool, I want it replaced with a different model. This range is about I and a half years old, want to replace it but again was very expensive. Its a terrible product, it cant be a coincidence, that both newer appliances made by Whirlpool are terrible!!!! Combined they cost me almost 3000.00 dollars. I feel that I have been ripped off definitely did not get the great products that I thought I was buying. No response from Whirlpool, no satisfaction. I want them both replaced or my money back, take them out of here, they are useless!!!!! I will NEVER buy another Whirlpool product again, and have told everyone I know about the terrible quality of these products.

I purchased a Whirlpool microwave model #WHM3205XVS1 on October 2, 2011. The handle broke off in little pieces and was repaired in March 2012. Handle broke off again in little pieces in September 2012. This will be the 3rd handle that will continue to break in little pieces every 6 months. According to both repair men that were here, this is their comment: No customer abuse, this is a very common problem with this model. After to speaking to 3 people at Whirlpool, I was told by everyone, This is cosmetic problem and we will not fix after the 1 year manufacturers warranty is up. I started with the the first person, went to her supervisor, then went to her supervisor. I am now waiting for a call from a manager although I was told I will continue to get the same answer no matter how far up the chain of command I go. So, I was told that it is okay to have 2 screws sticking out holding the remaining part of the handle that is left, because it is a cosmetic, not a functional problem. I will never stop with Whirlpool. I will call 4 times a day if necessary. I will never purchase another Whirlpool product again! I will tell everyone I know not to purchase one of their products. Be careful. They manufacture products for many other companies, i.e., Sears, Amana, Jenn-Air, and many, many more.

My fridge is only 8 months old and stopped working about 5 weeks ago. They have sent repair techs out 5 times, replaced the compressor, condenser, some fan thing and evaporator. It worked for 2 days then the compressor started leaking again. Ive lost 2 refrigerator full of groceries. It damaged my floor. I was unable to have family over for Christmas and Ive been using a mini fridge. The Whirlpool customer service people have been no help and some have been very rude. I have no idea when this will ever be fixed. There is no way I would ever buy any appliance from Whirlpool again. Terrible experience.

I have had this unit less than a year and started having pilot problems. I would just relight and ask family members to take shorter showers or not run the washing machine or dishwasher at the same time. I would have to relight the pilot 3-4 times a year and would just tolerate. Now the water heater fails on a daily basis. In the last four weeks, my wife would say NO HOT WATER AGAIN. I am so tired of dealing with this, so last night, I called Whirlpool and associate was polite but gave me a lot of things that I should do (43 yrs a pipefitter). Before all was said and done, he is shipping me a new gas valve (at my expense) that I will gladly install to get rid of this problem. Will not EVER buy a hot water heater from Whirpool or Lowes ever again. Whirpool should stick to washing machines!

Bought expensive fridge 2009. Now (2015) random very loud rat-tat-tat sounds lasting 5-10 seconds. Very loud. Paid for repairman to evaluate. He said it was probably compressor spring and other springs would probably soon break and would shut down fridge. Said it is very expensive to repair and it would be best to dump the fridge and buy a new one. I called the 800 number located inside the fridge. Jacob at Whirlpool listened to my story and said, Yep, it sounds like the compressor spring and the other springs will likely break. He said he can make me a one-time offer of a full repair of the compressor for only $359.65. We pay Whirlpool and they will have a local guy here come and fix it. We paid by visa. And, via email we get a document that shows we just bought a service contract. This is a surprise to us as we were told were paying to have the compressor repaired. In a few days, a call comes from local repair shop. Guy says, he will come out and check out the noise and see if he can repair our unit. We tell him the noise is intermittent and we cant predict when the noise will occur. We also tell him Jacob from Whirlpool said it was the compressor and that we paid to have it repaired. He says it doesnt sound like it is the compressor and that he cant diagnose the problem if he cant hear the noise. We tell Maytag/Whirlpool via phone we are faxing formal request for refund of our $359.65. Lady from Whirlpool says we, should get a refund in 4-6 weeks. Well, we will see.We are very disappointed in the the short life of our very expensive fridge and we are disgusted with the false and misleading comments made by Jacob of Whirlpool. He told us we were paying for the repair of our compressor and instead we get a stupid service contract. We are in the process of buying a new fridge. And no... It will NOT be a Maytag/Whirlpool!

Whirlpools front load washers do not have easy access to the drain pump filter. The entire front of the machine including the door has to be taken off to access the filter. When putting washer back together the parts are cheap and screws break. Most companies that sell front load washers provide easy access to the drain pump filter. Buy one of those instead of a Whirlpool and you will save yourself a lot of time and hassle.

Ice maker stopped making ice. This side by side Whirlpool refrigerator was purchased 4 years ago. We called Whirlpool. An authorized repair man identified the problem. At the bottom hinge of the freezer door two of the wires have been broken. A defective design, but no recall from Whirlpool. The solution is to replace the entire freezer door for a cost of $1200. Ridiculous that a replacement door cost more than the purchase price from Lowes. It would appear that these 2 wires could be reconnected, but Whirlpools only solution is an entire new door. Automakers stand behind their products with recalls, but its not the same with Whirlpool. Love my Whirlpool range, washer and dryer, but this counter depth side by side is a real loser.

It was on sale and the price was good for comparable refrigerators. The biggest problem is that instead of a simple dial to control temperature, you have to be a computer genius to figure out how to turn it to a different temp. even by the instructions. And the ice maker throws ice all over the floor even if you hold the glass up against the top. When I first got it, it made a very loud noise when it run, but that changed with time to a bearable volume. Everything seems to work well other than those few little things.

I bought a new house in Hattiesburg with a Whirlpool dishwasher that is loud. It runs normally but when you open it the dishes are just as dirty as when you put them in if not worse since it will spray any residue from the bottom to the top shelf. I have taken it out and inspected all lines and such but can find nothing wrong to the naked eye. Thus I’ve got dirty dishes that must soak since the drying cycle retakes grime back on and then be rewashed.

Well 2 wks after that it started freezing again and I called the Co. again and the same thing happened again and this was after my warranty had expired. Well then this young man came out and replaced the fan and a heating rod I believe to help it to stop freezing. Well 2 days ago it started freezing up once again. Im disabled and live on a fix income so now Ive got to figure out to get me another frig. And it WILL NOT BE A WHIRLPOOL REFRIGERATOR. But kudos to the Co. and the young man for trying to fix it even though it took 3XS and still not working.

We purchased our new home in February of 2012 and found a good deal on a 6 appliance package from a local dealer (not box store). In these four years, had to replace igniter in gas range oven. Weve had 3 repair visits for the fridge, dead ice-maker, temperature imbalance freezing vegetables, meat drawer constantly falling off tracks, door shelf rails fall off and all shelf contents fall to floor. Dishwasher rinse dispenser has never functioned, never empties. Technician claims it is working as designed. Washing machine - 3 separate service calls. We finally decided to buy a different brand last year. Only the dryer and microwave have have performed as expected with no service calls. The package deal saved us about $500 but in just 4 years we have spent over $1000 (including $400 to buy a new washing machine). VERY disappointed in this brand.

Called Sears repair and came out Saturday 10/10/2015 to inspect the machine. When the repairman checked the codes he determined there was a problem with the motor. When he lifted the machine up the capacitor fell out in 2 pieces. It had blown apart and the motor had burned up. The estimated repair bill was $480.00. Needless to say we did not repair the machine. I installed my new water heater in 2012. Within 3 months, it was not producing hot water. When I called, a helpful person at the Whirlpool warranty line told me it was because there was too much cold water being mixed into the hot water coming from the tank. I hung up... Called again and was told that they would be able to get someone in 2 weeks out to my house to check it. I told them that was not acceptable. I hung up... I called Lowes, where I bought it. The person on the other line finally, after more than 1 hour, was able to get a repair person out there within 2 days. I had to pay the fee to have the guy come look at my hot water tank, and tell me that he hated Whirlpools. He called Whirlpool, 3 times; he was hung up on 2 times. He explained what had happened was I had a hot water leak, that it probably it was overloaded, the thermostat control everything else was fine. However, that I had installed the heater myself not a professional. Therefore it was not up to NATIONAL code; therefore, Whirlpool refused to honor the warranty. So, short version, in order to get the tank repaired, I was supposed to spend an additional $300-$400 to bring the heater up to code for them to honor the warranty. What you ask made my heater out of code? It is outside in my utility room, and the flue was cut to fit and the OUTSIDE vent pipe was not above the roofline. It didnt matter that it is not in an enclosed space, that this was nothing to do with the reasoning the thermocouple went out.I simply turned up the heat, so far so good. Will I ever buy another Whirlpool? No. I have a Whirlpool fridge bought before the hot water tank situation. The ice maker went out within 6 months of purchase. When I called to have it repaired, the service guy stated he hates Whirlpool. The piece he had to replace was plastic that was replaced with a metal piece that should have been metal to begin with.

The knobs on the Whirlpool gas stove model Super Capacity 465 AccuBake system are easily confusing and dangerous. If the knob is turned in the wrong direction when intending to turn the burner off, it turns to a very low setting which is although nice for simmering, it is very easy for it to be mistaken as the off position and leaves only the gas leaking if the smell is not noticed in time.

I have read the reviews and agree with all negative comments. There is no point in investing in a high efficiency machine when I have to rewash many dark items several times in spite of always adding the extra rinse cycle. The clothes appear cleaner if I do not add liquid fabric softener, but as I prefer to use my clothes line when possible, I am unable to use fabric softener. Also, although it is supposed to be a high capacity machine, I only fill the tub about one third of its capacity, hoping this will increase the cleanliness of your clothes. It doesnt seem to help.I have contacted Whirlpool several times and the final suggestion was that pay for a technicians visit, approx. $100, plus extra for repairs. I have decided not to throw good money after bad and to buy another brand of washer. This is the WORST appliance I have ever owned even though it is supposedly high-end. PLEASE do not buy a Whirlpool appliance. If the Cabrio washing machine is an indication of the quality of their appliances, you will be wasting your money.

I have a 3 1/2 year old 9400WFW WP washer with a 70 error code. After viewing complaints on various websites, it appears this is a large scale problem with Whirlpool Duet owners. I just got off the phone with WP customer service and explained how many complaints are out there for F70 code error, yet they do not have a recall on this part! How can this be justified? This is a non-mechanical part of the washing machine. The life expectancy should be more than 3 years. My washer is not overused as there are only 2 people in the household. I do not want to pay the cost to repair this. I think WP should issue a part recall on this model. If I could give them zero stars I would. NEVER BUY A WHIRLPOOL GAS WATER HEATER! Our Whirlpool water heater Is 4 years old. Pilot light wont stay lit. A reputable plumber came out and said that the control knob is bad and to call Whirlpool to get part because its still under warranty. So I call and get nothing but a hassle. They tried to tell me that it was installed in a room that the installation manual says it not to be in. (Background here. The house was built in 1960. It is on a cement slab and its a prefab house.) The manual says Do not install in bathrooms, bedrooms or any OCCUPIED room normally kept closed. Now let me tell you where it is at. It is in a 5 by 3 boxed area with cement floor and walls to the ceiling with access doors to it and to the furnace which is also in this area. The access door to water heater is on the back side of a bedroom closet, access door to furnace is in a hall. So Whirlpool tells me that they cant give me the part Even if I pay for it due to some national fuel and gas code. They wont even tell me where I could buy the part... They said the only way they can help me is if I relocate the water heater or put in a ventless water heater. Our water heater is vented thru the roof of house... It gets plenty of ventilation. They wouldnt let me talk to a supervisor to complain... So this is why I am on here writing this review. I might add this is not our first issue with Whirlpool. Had a brand new KitchenAid refrigerator with ice maker. The ice maker didnt work from first day. After 3 techs and 3 visits it still doesnt work. Then also the compressor went out. If you want a better product and want good customer service then dont buy Whirlpool.Oh and one more thing. Our plumber also doesnt like Whirlpool. He said he had problems every time when he has to deal with them. He said its to the point when someone calls for services and tells him its a Whirlpool he just cringes. Now thats pretty bad. I just spent 4 almost 5 hours of my morning upset to the point of tears. With no results. Another note. I called my gas company. They said our water heater is in a safe place. If it wasnt they wouldnt be supplying gas to us. Live and learn. Done with Whirlpool.

I purchased a washing machine in year 2002. It was working perfectly. Recently, its drive belt started slipping. I called local service center, S. R. Enterprises, with mobile number 9204792391.The technician came after 3 days and declared that the gear box is leaking and will have to be replaced. They had no gearbox in stock for model f45, top loading, fully automatic. After a wait, they took away the machine to their workshop on 30.09.2011 and returned it on 04.10.2011.They charged me Rs. 4,730. I will have to be replaced. I found that its LID, which was perfectly okay, is now making a terrible sound when opened and would fall down, not allowing to load the machine. I informed the service center immediately. After many reminders, a man turned up yesterday and declared that the LID will have to be replaced and I will have to pay Rs. 2,000 for that. I rang up the service center to say, Since it has been damaged in your workshop, you should replace it free of cost to me. Their reply was evasive and negative. I called your call center and they registered my complaint - customer number **, comp. number **. I was assured that the LID will be replaced within 24 hours.

My brand new oven kept turning off automatically. When reported, they kept sending a technician who kept lying to both parties regarding what the issue was. Whirlpool customer service people have been extremely rude and declined to fix the issue although my oven was under warranty without giving me proper reasoning for their actions. We were looking for stainless steel and this model was that. This model has lots of presets which we like. We lucked out and got it on sale and were able to get features of a more expensive model for a lesser price. The only downside is getting the turntable back in when you clean it. One of the things I wish it had was a way use the timer for foods cooking in the microwave plus use the timer separately for timing food you arent cooking in the microwave, but will be part of the meal. Also, the defrost options could be clearer!

Whirlpool Accubake Gas stove/oven - Several times now, in the year and a half that Ive owned this appliance, Ive had issues with the knobs easily being turned on. The pilot never lights, and gas leaks horribly. One day I decided to take my daughter to the park and wed ran into the kitchen to grab a few drinks. A few hours later when we came home, I barely got the key in the door when I smelled gas. I left the door wide open and stepped inside the house and saw the not one, but two knobs had somehow been turned on. Im assuming that when my daughter and I grabbed our drinks, one or both of us must have barely bumped the knobs. We had to stand outside and leave the front door open for over an hour to air out the house!Ive found that I literally have to keep the knobs off the stove to prevent the gas from leaking in our home and someone passing out. NEVER in a million years would I have made such a huge purchase (and yes, its a huge purchase for a single mother!) on something thats used on a daily basis if I had known what a danger it could be. I almost forgot to add, that the stove top grill began rusting the first time I washed them off and the oven often does not light and we have to leave the drip pan unscrewed in order to light the pilot.

I bought a Whirlpool Cabrio 2 years ago and until last week it was fine. We got an error message that said we had to call for service so we called a local whirlpool repairman. The repair guy told us it was the control panel and it was going to cost between $400 to $500. He also said that he works on a lot of whirlpool washers and this is the first time he saw a machines control panel fail. He recommended that we call Whirlpool.I called Whirlpool customer service and after waiting on the phone for 40 minutes I was quickly transferred to customer resolution and was told that since I hadnt purchased the extended warranty there was nothing that they could do for me. I kept asking her, There is nothing that you can do to help me? And the consistent answer was no. I will never buy another Whirlpool appliance. This has been so frustrating to have an appliance that looks brand new and wont work. The manufacturer wont even try to help with fixing the problem. Amazing AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE.

We purchased the Whirlpool Gold Gas Range (model #GW399LXUQ06) in November 2011. Last week, I noticed the porcelain enamel finish on the stove top grates has fallen off in pieces. I contacted Whirlpool today, February 14, 2012, about this issue and they advised me it is a cosmetic problem which is not covered under the warranty. They advised me that it would cost over $100 per grate to replace. We have had this stove for less than three months and I feel these grates are defective and Whirlpool should be responsible for replacing them. I am very dissatisfied with this stove.

Disappointed with Whirlpool Gold bottom freezer GX2SHBXVY05. We purchase this refrigerator in December 2010 thinking we were buying a good quality french door fridge. It didnt take long before problems started with the freezer over freezing and the fridge not cooling. We also had a problem with water pooling on the bottom of the freezer then freezing into a solid piece of ice. Water eventually started pooling on the kitchen floor and living room carpet. We did not purchase the extended warranty believing we shouldnt have had to as we were believing a good name brand. After having a repair person in twice we were told we needed a new computer board and switch. Total cost for repair $350.00 plus previous charges, so far adding up to over $450.00. We called Whirlpool customer service, was a waste of time as they simply told me they could send out their own repair person to obtain the same diagnosis I already had. They told me I should have purchased the warranty. I told them I shouldnt have needed to. Whirlpool customer service refused to do anything for me as it was too long past the 1 year limited warranty. Doing my own research I found this to be a problem with a great many Whirlpool fridge owners and I mentioned this to their customer service and mentioned there should be a recall. I will no longer purchased another Whirlpool product as the company does not stand behind their product.

I have had to replace my Whirlpool 50-gallon hot water heater 2 times. First time it broke, it caused thousands of dollars’ worth of damages plus Im out a $760.00 deductible. I had the last one just over 1 month and couldnt exchange it at Lowe’s because it’s a few days over a month. So I had to get return authorization before I could return it again. I went through speaking to a hateful CSR. After calling back again, the lady, a real nice lady, helped me. I will never buy another Whirlpool product again, and if anyone is smart, they will stay away from them too. Hateful, hateful CSR. Beware.

There are many things that we love about it; however it has had ongoing problems and the the latest one cannot seem to be fixed despite multiple repair calls by two different repair services. The service center has been responsive and even extended our warranty but we are getting tired calling them and having repair people in our home. My elderly mother purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine in 2013 (Model Number WTW8600YW1). It never filled properly with water. It evolved to a sensor and circuit board issue that Whirlpool never totally remedied. Hence, the machine never worked properly. This 800 dollar purchase on an elderly persons limited budget had to be utilized minimally. Now fast forward in 2015, even with minimal usage and white glove handling, the machine is displaying an F51 error. You guessed it, Whirlpool will not remedy the issue, although it is well-documented to be a widespread complaint hence clearly a product defect. Shame on Whirlpool, their business practices, and what amounts to theft of an elderly womans finite income. I have advised my mother to trash the useless Whirlpool appliance and purchase a Kenmore washing machine, of which I have been the proud owner for 10 years, doing laundry for a family of 5.

I bought this piece of junk Whirlpool Cabrio washer two years ago and it’s been nothing but junk. Just like everyone else, this thing has never gotten my clothes clean no matter what I do. Anything with a drawstring or straps gets ripped up or stretched out. It’s loud and shakes, even though it’s leveled. Now, to top it off, it’s leaking water from the basket seal. I called Whirlpool and they couldnt give a damn. Since it’s out of warranty, it’s my problem, even though she said they know this machine has a lot of problems. So now Im stuck either fixing this thing or buying a new washer. Every appliance in my house is a Whirlpool and Ive had nothing but problems with several of them. I thought when I bought the brand it was a good brand and they stood behind their stuff. Boy, was I wrong! I will never buy Whirlpool again! They should recall this washer!

We called the number they have located on the side of the water heater and they sent 3 references such as plumbers for us to contact because everything they told us to purchase didnt work... so after their references, plumber came out. Instead of him telling us what was wrong why all of a sudden we stopped getting hot water he didnt return our phone call. As a professional that sucks!!! The electrician did it correct the first time. Whirlpool just dont want to accept the fact that their equipment is faulty!!! But thats good because I will NEVER purchase anything WHIRLPOOL makes. My ref. stopped working. I troubleshoot it and did not work. I filled out a service request back on February 2nd, 2015. I got an email back from a subcontractor called Active Appliance INC. with a date service on February 6th, 2015, 4 days after my service request, and that is the only available date. The technician arrived while I am not at the house, however I talked to him before he started the work on my refrigerator and asked him kindly if he can call me after founding the issue, and he assured me that he will. No call and when I arrived home I found that he told the attendant that the refrigerator is not working and he has to report to the office. REALLY! We know that! Anyway I called Active Appliance and the customer services rep. told me that she could not answer with the diagnose until she speak with the technician and that will be Monday February 9th, I asked if I could speak with a manager, and her reply was Our managers do not talk to the customers. I had to hang up and call Whirlpool customer services and spoke with a nice gentleman, that he was not happy with Active Appliance INC. services. He placed me on hold and called them and within 3 minute he got back with the news, what was wrong with the refrigerator, electric computer panel burned out and then the fan continue to work with no stop, so it burned as well. He assured me that the services will be done no later than Tuesday February, 10th.While on the phone I got a call from active appliance and this time she wanted to know if I am warranted. I told her that I have Whirlpool on the other line and they assured me that I am. She said that it does not matter and she has to get something in writing. I placed her on hold and talked with Whirlpool and he assured me that he will contact them and email me a confirmation, which he did. By Tuesday February 10th, no call no follow up. I called Active appliance and they stated that it would take up to 14 working days for a part to arrive. I called Whirlpool and spoke with a customer services manager, and she got on the phone and told me that they are going to do their best and get back with me. Today February 16th I got a call to cancel a work service order due to technician calling sick and reschedule for February 25th Wednesday, I told her that they did not call to schedule the service first place, her answer was Never mind, I am calling to cancel anyway. Would you like to take this appointment or NOT? I asked her kindly to reevaluate their service procedures and the way they handle their customer, and I told her that I bought my refrigerator from Whirlpool and they are the company in charge of their product and I do not wish to continue this dialog with Active Appliance!I called Whirlpool and the customer service gentleman was helping me and we got disconnected, however when I called back they were closed for the day, however the customer service has my phone number but I got no phone call!!!! I think this is the worst POOR service I got within the last 20 years!!!!! I hope someone at Whirlpool care about their services and can contact me to handle the issue.

Im so disappointed with this product. Its only a couple of years old, which seems fairly new as my old washer was over 20 years old when I finally got rid of it because of the noise it was making! First, the Cabrio stopped draining and spinning, even though the display showed that the cycle was done. Phoned Whirlpool, and the best they could do was send out a repairman - at our cost, of course! We refused, and kept using the machine - put it on for an extra drain and spin. Then, it stopped working completely! My husband hauled it out to a repair shop and was told it needs a new motherboard at a cost of $400 plus labor! This was an expensive washing machine, and I feel Whirlpool should offer its customers better service! I guess we need to buy a new machine - definitely not Whirlpool!!

In October 2009, I purchased a Whirlpool Energy smart gas water heater with flame lock safety system.$509.00 I had it installed on 5/4/2009 by Westmoreland Affordable Plumbing, $218.00. On 10/15 called Whirlpool stating that the upper thermistor was coding as a failure. They sent me another one to replace it on 10/19/2009. On 10/19/2009, 1 and 1/2 hours later, the tank was coding a bad gas valve, called back and told Whirlpool what had happened and that I smelled gas. I shut off the gas to the water heater and waited for a valve replacement to arrive. On 10/21/2009 I had E.H. Plumbing to install the new gas valve to the water heater, $150.00. On 10/28/2009 the new gas valve went bad. I contacted Whirlpool and argued with them until I had them replace the hot water tank. With their approval I went to Lowes and tried to get the same water tank but they no longer sold that model anymore. I was given their equivalent to the one I had purchased earlier. I had it installed on 10/29/2009, $150.00. I now see a class action suit was filed against Whirlpool for the model in 2008. They were still selling this model after the lawsuit???? I spent $1027.00 for a $509 hot water tank and a lot a days without any hot water. I have all my receipts and returned codes for this transaction. Is it possible to get my $300.00 back (for two extra installations) as a result of this problem? I also kept the old gas valve thermostat.

I purchased the original Whirlpool water heater from Lowes in April 2008 for $372, and an installation charge of $443, grand total - $815. In February 2012 the tank leaked profusely, enough to ruin a section of hardwood floor in the room behind the garage where it was installed. Whirlpool provided me with return authorization, and Lowes provided me with a replacement water heater. So far so good. Since the original installation was done through Lowes, the replacement had to be as well, according to Whirlpool, but now they charged $500 with tax to install the replacement water heater! Grand total now is $1315. Fast forward to May, 2014 and the replacement water heater, just barely 2 years old, shuts off with a code of Bad gas control valve/thermostat. I call Whirlpool and an extremely rude 20-something staffer tells me the unit is out of warranty by one month! The replacement unit has no warranty at all - nada - only the original one does... Is this unbelievable or what?! BUT, they would be glad to send me the replacement of the defective part for $200 PLUS overnight shipping charges, and I would be responsible for all labor charges to install it. Had I opted for this my original $372 water heater would have wound up costing me in the neighborhood of $1800!! I told her in no uncertain terms what she could do with the repair part, and now I am going to go shopping for a water heater that will last me more than 2-4 years, and you can bet it wont be a Whirlpool, and it wont come from Lowes.

So 3 guys have been out to all replace the same part. This morning, hot water is out. Both tanks. Can’t keep pilot light lit. Called WP. They gave me more numbers of authorized contractors. No hot water and now I’ve got another $300 I owe to fix the SAME BROKEN PART. I wonder if this is how their last class action lawsuit got started?

I waited years to buy this machine. I hate it!!! I agree with the other bad reviews. It destroys clothes. There is barely enough water in it to cover the bottom of the machine much less the laundry. Even deep water is a joke. It does not clean. I put it on the hottest water temp and I can put my hand in there and it is barely warm (it is not my hot water heater). My lightweight comforters come out all tacky and grungy in the middle. The softener dispenser (I use vinegar) dumps in the laundry (no it is not over full) (no I do not slam it shut). I can not let anything soak because the machine will drain after a few minutes and all my detergent, scent crystals etc. are all wasted. I feel like I have to take a survey and complete a questionnaire every time I do laundry. Can someone tell me how to put a comforter in there and leave that little middle eye open? They say the water saver is government regulated? Yup I need the government to do my laundry... I believe in saving water. I have a water saver toilet, shower, faucets. However I can not clean dirty jeans in a gallon of water. My clothes do not even get wet. How does whirlpool get away with advertising this machine can do king size comforter? The gentle cycle will tear apart anything I might put in there because there is no water and that blooming thing just twist and turns so it tears anything delicate. This is the 21st century. I think I should not have to babysit my washing machine. Why should I have to readjust everything in hopes it might be almost clean??? Place this here and that there, wipe the lint out before doing dark laundry. This machine belongs in the dark ages. It is so complicated yet it achieves nothing. A big rip off. I so tired of crying over this purchase. I hate this machine!!!

We purchased 4.0 cu. ft. Cabrio Top Load Washer with 6th Sense Technology MODEL WTW7340XW2 on 11/20/2011. We are a small family of 3 so use of the machine is light. We noticed a strange sound and some leaks a week ago and called in a technician recommended on the Whirlpool website. To our horror he informed us that we need to replace the tub bearing assembly, rotor and stator - to a cost of $1095! This machine is not even 3 years old. Did we buy a lemon? I called Whirlpool. They were simply not interested. The online chat person sent me to the Whirlpool Customer Experience Team where I was told that I should buy an insurance plan to cover the costs of repairs. They then sent me on to the insurance department who want me to pay $338 to buy a repair plan to have the machine fixed. And then referred me to the Manufacturing division when I wanted to know how to escalate the problem - and if you call that number - there is no option to deal with problems - seriously?!? Is this what I should expect when buying the Whirlpool brand?

Whirlpool serviceman came out to see why our brand new dishwasher didnt dry the dishes and left pools of water on glass bottoms. Repairman said all the new dishwashers are like this. The heating elements do not heat hot enough so that the machine gets a higher efficiency rating. He said the solution is to use the dishwasher during the day and at the end of the cycle, open the door so the dishes air dry. My previous 24 year old GE dishwasher did a great job of drying the dishes even when we didnt use the heated dry cycle! The only reason we had to buy a new dishwasher is because we bought a new house. I am very disgusted with the Whirlpool dishwasher. Might as well do dishes by hand.
