IPod the Gold Series from Whirlpool appliances including the French door with the freezer on the bottom the induction still two ovens and glass top the microwave in the dishwasher does it cost me about $8,900 dubstep problem with it is after two-and-a-half years of using it the freezer stopped working and coming to find out that not only mine but three other ones in my account have the same problem. The sealed system for the freezer had a leak in it. I lost the freezer traffic to Whirlpool. First time around they said, No problem well take care of the part. To take care of Labor. I waited a month. Nothing happened. I called them back. They said I needed to do something else so I waited for it to happen. Nothing happened. Now I call back 8 weeks later without a refrigerator my house come to find out they told me theyre not doing nothing.Well four weeks later now Im sitting with the stove which cost me quite a bit of money like $2,000 for the induction stove. Now its burned out the computer components. Control panels are both out. It will cost $800 to repair it. Now well pull. Said they will also pay for parts for that but not for the labor so now Im stuck without a refrigerator and I dont have a stove in my house and theyre saying its okay that these very expensive piece of equipment that I bought and its okay for them to only last 2 years. Never had a Whirlpool last me less than 10. I think theres something wrong with this picture.

The Gold Series Whirlpool dishwasher has some cool features for changing the configuration of the shelves, etc. After that its all downhill. Poor washing, worse drying. In the past 6 months Ive tried: less dishes, redistribute them differently every use, lower/raise upper shelf, use liquid detergent, powder packets, drying agent... nada. Absolutely NO remnant of food can be on the dishes. Of course I rinse everything well prior to loading washer; this one wants them CLEANED. I dont give a flying fig how loud a machine is as long as its doing its job. This one quietly does very little. AND the genius who designed that horrid cutlery basket needs a new job.The basket slides onto the inside of the door, making it difficult to reach into; it can sit on the outside of the lower tray but it falls off at the slightest disturbance. The baskets are narrow with hinged lids; the lids have small and medium slits so items are placed individually. If your cutlery is the right size! Ours is a little wide in the handle, they dont fit and must be placed into the opened, narrow baskets and butt up against each other. We are only 2 folks, I cook one meal a day and run the washer TWICE because bowls and pots take up the entire space, so I either wash the remainder by hand or keep the sink full of dirty pots and dishes. LOVELY. Bring back the old washer!!!

It was time to put the old Frigidaire Washer out to pasture. I researched for quite some time online to find just the right new one. Its all so confusing as they all claim to be the best. The Whirlpool WTW500DW Top Load is the one I chose to look at along with 2 comparable others. I have had Whirlpool appliances in the past and was always happy with them, so I will be honest, I was leaning towards Whirlpool. I purchased the WTW500DW and matching Dryer after looking at the 2 others first. Price was lower, features were more to my liking and better quality/sturdiness was very apparent to me. This was the lower priced machine out of the 3 but had everything I wanted and a little more. The HUGE wash basket is wonderful. I have literally cut our laundry down from 4-5 loads a week to 2! Our clothes have truly never been cleaner.I am amazed at the great job this machine does with a minimum amount of time and water. It is quiet, efficient and the cycles do what they are supposed to do. The absence of electronic pad buttons is greatly appreciated. Its standard dials are easy to read and set. In my opinion, Whirlpool has done it again. Its a great Washing Machine at a price that is lower than others without as many nice features, it is well built and does the job perfectly.

12 months and 2 weeks, my ice maker quit working. I called Lowes where I purchased this top of the line junk. The first thing they asked was do I purchase the extended warranty. I said no. He advised to call a repairman he recommended, but I would have to pay for the repairs. Whirlpool was just as bad; no warranty, you pay. It appears they are both relying on warranties rather than selling dependable products or customer satisfaction. A couple months later, ice forming on the bottom of the freezer, and puddles every couple of days in front of the refrigerator. I pulled the two draws out and removed the ice. Within a week, it was back. A $2400 refrigerator should last longer then a 1 1/2 years without falling apart. My Whirlpool dishwashers only lasted 1 1/2 years also.

The dishwasher chopper blade broke, and the check valve is gone. My over-the-stove microwave handle came off in my hand, and the top cover for the fan fell off in a pan of hot grease and almost burned me. What the hell is wrong with this picture? I paid a lot of money for inferior products, and I cant find replacement parts anywhere. And they are expensive when you can find them.I have tried to get this resolved before I talked to a rep, and your computers were down. I will never buy another Whirlpool again, and I am spreading the word. Dont buy Whirlpool. I am thinking of posting this on Facebook.

I bought a 40 gal. Whirlpool water heater from Lowes. It was just outside the 6-year warranty when the pilot light went out and wont relight. I called Whirlpool. They are about as worthless as box of rocks. They refuse to replace the thermocoupling free of charge or at least no shipping charge, when they know in fact there is a problem. It was because no class action lawsuit was filed. Its too bad for the customers. I wished they would have just said: “lady, please take your business somewhere else.” It would have made things easier. Or, better yet, they should just put a sign on their water heaters in the store stating: “If you have problems with our product, sorry about your luck. ** you and have a nice day.”

My parents 89 and 76 years old bought a Whirlpool fridge a few months ago.
My parents 89 and 76 years old bought a Whirlpool fridge a few months ago. A month after purchase fridge built up moisture terribly. Water was laying inside so much seeping on floor. We called, Whirlpool sent serviceman out. Serviceman number 1 put some kind of black tape in the door saying it was the seal. We were just disgusted over this and it didnt work. We called again, serviceman number 2 came out, said bad door, so he ordered door. Serviceman number 3 came out, replaced door. Moisture still in fridge, food isnt staying cool, and you can physically still see gap indoor. We called again. Serviceman number 4 came out and said fridge is not level due to floor in house. But nothing wrong with floor in house. This serviceman pushed on fridge said to my 89 year old dad and 76 year old mother and I quote, Put a piece of wood under this side of fridge. We will not replace this fridge. Now mind the fridge was delivered and set up by Lowes. So now this brand new fridge is no good and we have had no help whatsoever to fix this problem. So my parents whom have been married for 62 years with 5 grown children, 16 grandchildren, a 36 greatgrandchildren and 1 great great grandchild have promised none of us will ever look at another Whirlpool anything much less purchase a whirlpool appliance. Just for the simple fact of how a multi trillion dollar company will not stand behind their warranty nor name. We are disgusted with the whole situation. This is the worst experience any of us have ever had. So no I would not recommend Whirlpool to anyone for the simply fact of the way my parents have been so disrespected by this company. Its horrible to know this kind of behavior is even allowed for employees to disrespect people. The Whirlpool fridge is warped, damaged from the time it was built. The warranty I hold in my hand says and I quote after 3 visits and problem not fixed fridge will be replaced.Well Whirlpool has been out 4 times and has refused to replace it. This couple has worked hard all of there lifes, lives on a fixed income and has just threw away money on a Whirlpool fridge they cant use. So now we have are in the process of hiring a lawyer. Its the principle of Good Vs Evil with Whirlpool. How whirlpool has refused to stand behind the Whirlpool warranty. So Like I said earlier I would never recommend buying any product that has anything to do with whirlpool. Shame on Whirlpool just shame on them.

Worst customer service I have ever seen. I have been waiting on a part for my dishwasher since before Thanksgiving. I have sat on hold for 2 or more hours. They cannot connect you to a supervisor, you just continue to wait on hold. They cannot give an eta for the part that has supposedly been in production since before Thanksgiving. I get told one thing, then when I call back for an update 2 weeks later that person has no idea what Im talking about. I will tell you one thing, if you do not want a headache, I suggest you buy another product!! I can guarantee, I will let everyone I know and never purchase Whirlpool again if this is not resolved this week! After doing my research, this part should be recalled. It is a big issue with this very expensive dishwasher.

I am on my second Whirlpool hot water heater within 7 years and both had a 9-year supposed warranty. Upon replacing the pop-off valve (at my expense), I paid $98 to replace the gas valve (part was issued by Whirlpool). Still having problems with pop valve and now the pilot light wont stay lit. Upon calling the number (877 817-6750) I was finally told they would replace the heater. When I stated that I did not want another faulty Whirlpool heater and that I would take the faulty heater back to place of purchase but that I wanted a local plumber to install their own heater, I was told that I had to have a thermal expansion tank or they basically would not do anything. Why would I want a third Whirlpool product? The second one is ruining my tiled basement floor as it is. So after spending over $600 for the faulty heater, now I have to spend $700 to replace it.

Love my new Whirlpool Refrigerator! Works well and no problems for the last year. Filters are pricey but found some at Lowe’s cheaper. Whirlpool stays in touch frequently emailing information about their products, some useful some not applicable. Would I buy this refrigerator again? Yes, I love the ice maker, it is quite large (enough to fill a small cooler), and the convenience of crushed or cubed ice is nice. Most people complain about the motors are loud yet we have not experienced that.

Front-loading does not do good job of rinsing. The Whirlpool Duet will not last longer than 2 years. Whirlpool recommends that owners purchase a new washer every 2 years. Whirlpool suggests owners purchase new clothes each week to avoid washing. Any owner would be required to quit their job in order to wash clothes. The Whirlpool Duet front-loader requires 12 hours per load. This means that only 2 loads can be washed in a 24-hour period. Each load requires 10 rinse cycles to remove suds.

The washer itself doesnt get the clothes clean. The clothes on top never get clean, they smell. It doesnt spin out the clothes evenly even though I put them in evenly. There is oil on my floor under the washer and Rent-A-Center doesnt care and its under their Benefits plus program. They were to send off both washer and dryer last time and had no paperwork where washer was sent off at all. It has ruined a lot of my clothes with spots and I used the Tide pods. Stopped using them cause they were not working. I will never buy another Whirlpool product or appliance. Water pump went out in one year... Why would you not care about your customers... I purchased a Whirlpool front loading washer from PC Richards in January of 2010. The warranty was only for one year (the washer was new, not used). The model # is WFW9050XW. Anyway, the washer had to be repaired by PC Richards twice in the first year I had it. Once because the belt that makes the washer spin broke, then because the pump got clogged. Unfortunately, when you wash your clothes, your socks and underwear can get sucked into the pump. After that warranty expired, I purchased a warranty from my utilities company (PSE&G). I have had to contact them four times for repairs to this machine. The most recent problem is my clothes are still wet after the washer stops. I actually have to wring them out by hand to get the excess water out. When I contacted my utilities company about servicing the washer, I was informed that if the repair is more than the washer is worth they dont have to fix it. I canceled the repair and now got to the laundrymat. I figured if I wait until the end of the year, maybe the repairs wont seem excessive. I contacted Whirlpool about the problems and was informed that I should have been using a garment bag to wash my socks and underwear in. More or less the person I spoke with made it seem as though it was my fault the machine sucked up my underwear and socks. I, on the other hand, disagreed with her. I told her the washer should have been build so that it would not suck up these items. I was so totally pissed off I ended the conversation. I also informed her that I would not be purchasing any other appliances manufactured by Whirlpool or Maytag as they are affiliated. They obviously have no integrity when it comes to their product. However, I am totally baffled. Why do the Maytag machines work better and last longer than the Whirlpool machines? The washer I replaced was a Maytag. I had that machine for 17 years!!!!

Our refrigerator had ice maker problems from the beginning. After 6-7 trips (with a warranty extension) they got it fixed. Then randomly the ice melted, made a puddle in fridge and on the floor, the freezer thawed. Then it would begin running after several days. Finally Whirlpool recommended we replace the computer brain for $1000 PLUS. The refrigerator is 4 years old. We are having a Bosch delivered today, even though the ice and freezer turned back on after being off for 3 days. Customer satisfaction stinks.

We have just built a new home and have spent a ton of money on appliances. I so wish I had looked up the reviews on this Whirlpool Cabrio Washer before we bought it. It makes a very loud annoying sound through at least a third of the cycle (which I was just told by Whirlpool is the normal agitating sound). We have also had to have service out here twice in the first few months because some of the clothes come out dirty in areas that were folded over because of lack of water even on the high water setting. It also, ripped my favorite white blouse right in half. Trust me DONT buy it, you will be sorry.

My whirlpool Cabrio washer top load had the rust problems, bearing problems, support arms replaced along with the complete drive assembly motor bearings and all the parts. My bearings have failed 3 times since 2009. This machine is junk. Customer service at Whirlpool is a joke. They treat you as if you have had to do something wrong. Finally I spoke with a salesman who said speak with the warranty company. I have the extended warranty which I advise everyone who purchases an appliance to get one. So I spoke with them and they sent me a check for a new machine. I must say our warranty company has been very helpful. So THIS IS MY WARNING TO ALL. PLEASE DO NOT BUY FROM WHIRLPOOL. I purchased the washer 1.5 years ago. At about 9 months, the latch was in need of replacing. The washer was locked and would not unlock. That was fixed. Fast forward to 1.5 years old and the control board needs replacing. The washer stopped in the midst of a cycle, filled with water. The repairs are over $400 -- nearly the price of a new washer. I will recommend against purchasing a Whirlpool washer.

My 2 year Jennaire (made by Whirlpool) broke down on 12/14/11. Repairman came out on 12/19. He said that the compressor was not working and ordered another and he came out again on 12/22. He said that it could not be fixed (internal leak or something). An aside to this story was that a tank of compressed oil blew and damaged my hallway and kitchen walls and floors and 2 rugs. That was being handled by the repairmans insurance company. We called Whirlpool and they said that they we could pick out a new refrigerator priced at no more than $2399 even though we paid $2799 for the Jennaire and would have to pay the difference for a model costing more. We went with a Maytag (Whirlpool product) that listed for $2899 but was available at 2 local stores for $2050 and $2100 but I had to give Whirlpool anther $500 because they use the MRP.They finally delivered it on 1/5/12 but would not leave it because no one disconnected the water line to the appliance and they would not touch it. It took me 20 seconds to do it and if they would have told me so it would have been done on the 5th. Rescheduled delivery for 1/8/12 and the unit was delivered damaged (large dent in front) and they would not temporarily leave it until a replacement came.I called Whirlpool again and asked them to just call a local Home Depot or anyone in my area (all had the unit in stock) to deliver one but they told me that it must come from the warehouse in Michigan (I live in PA) and that it would be yet another 5 to 10 business days to receive it. So, I am paying $700 more for a unit that I could have bought and had delivered before Christmas not to mention the inconvenience of no unit for a month. Not to mention the damage to my home, $200+ dollars in thrown away food, time to shop for new unit, time for 2 repairman appointments and time for the 2 deliveries thus far and countless phone calls to Whirlpool to get the new unit.Today is 1/10/12, so I guess Ill have by month end if there are no other problems, you would think that they would try to expedite this just because its been so long or give us a substantial credit for all the trouble. Never again Whirlpool.

Whirlpool Cabrio WTW7340XW washer is a piece of junk! I have had issues since the day I bought it and havent even had some of the failed parts that other people are talking about. It does not save water. I went from 5000 gal to 13000 gal in one month! It doesnt wash clothes. Everything comes out with the same spots they went in with and then some. Light colors come out with what looks like grease spots and whites come out with black spots. I have had it five months and have used six of the monthly cleaning tabs. Clothes get tangled and torn because of the speed of the spin cycle even on delicate. This unit needs to be recalled and redesigned or customers should be offered a different washer of their choice within the price range of this unit.

We have a Cabrio washer and dryer. The Washer has had problems since year one. We have just gone through service with Sears to fix a rusted out hinge on the lid. The tech broke the lid trying to drill out the rusted screws. He ordered a new lid and six weeks and one day later came to put the lid on. This was terrible. We were rescheduled two times for our appointment. Today the washer will not start on the cycle when you press the start button. I have had the agitator replaced 3 times to no avail! Whirlpool is not willing to admit that I have a defective machine and will be sending another service repairman to try and fix the problem - this time, no charge to me after many tries and frustration. I bought a top of the line Whirlpool front load washing machine (WFW97HEDW0) and drier with my new construction house. After a few months the washing machine began making a loud, banging noise during the spin cycle. Then about a month before the 1 year was up the unit broke and dumped all the water in the drum into the catch pan it was installed on. I called for service and someone showed up in about 3 days. The tech opened the unit and found that the plastic/composite drum the spin unit was contained in split in half all the way around. The tech exclaimed he had never come across this issue and would report in what he found but that he did not have the part and it would most likely be a whole new unit but that its up to whirlpool to make the call. I would find out that whirlpool had decided that the unit can be fixed and they have ordered the part and would call to schedule the repair.A week went by, with no word. I called warranty service company, Via Services, and they tell me that the part is on back order and that it would be two more weeks before it would come in. Now were looking at being without a washing machine for a month. I communicate this to the builder and they somehow get whirlpool to come out a week earlier than they said they could. The day came for the repair and two techs take nearly 8 hours to repair the unit (how is this efficient?).After the repair the unit ran with an odd noise that I attributed to the way it was stacked. A month goes by and two days after the 30 day repair warranty I go to do a load of laundry and the unit turns on but wont run. I called for warranty work because it was clearly not repaired sufficiently. I schedule a tech visit which is for a week after. The day come and the tech says he cant fix the unit without charging me for the repair because it is now out of warranty and if I have the extended warranty then I need to set that up with the extended warranty group. I send him away because I had just paid for the extended warranty. I called whirlpool for the extended warranty work and they schedule a repair contractor to come out in 3 days. The repair contractor calls me directly to confirm if the unit is side by side or stacked. I let them know that the units are stacked and they say they cant repair it because its a two tech job and they dont have enough techs. They send me back to talk to whirlpool. Whirlpool then notifies me that because its stacked I have to either unstack it myself or hire someone to unstack it for me. Well, I cant unstack the unit by myself and why should I have to pay someone to unstack it when thats what the unit was designed for? At this point I am going back and forth with the builder to get a refund so I can replace the unit. I will forever steer clear of any whirlpool or subsidiary products. The products are flimsy and the service is no better.

When I try to clean it using the methods recommended by Whirlpool, they will not come off and the top looks terrible. Using stronger things to clean it removes the finish. I purchased a Top load Whirlpool washing machine, replacing my old Whirlpool. I am so unhappy with this new one. I noticed that the water level are low...I had the tech here twice and they said that if here isnt any lights on the dash that the machine is working. I called the head tech, same answer. When I put the clothes in the washer I make sure that the clothes are evenly placed in the tub. The clothes comes out tangled and some not clean. Tonight I noticed that a pair of pant at the bottom of the load had white smudges/ I am so unhappy with this piece of junk/ I cant afford to buy another washer, so I am stuck with this.. I have tried all the different controls, still bad. I know the new machine are different than the old ones. I still believe that the water levels controls are not working. I have used my sister new washers and the clothes are not tangled and they are all clean.

This has progressively become worse, it now becomes un-level during the rinse cycle. We spoke with the appliance store where we purchased it, ;hey said the repairs could cost $400 or more. Thats nearly half of what it cost new. Like other complaints Ive read, cheaper washers have lasted years longer than the Whirlpool. Our last washer, a Kenmore, lasted 15 years.

Why am I not surprised by this stupid American company? I purchased a brand new fridge in June this year and for the last 5 months I have had about 20 different technician visits by five different technicians who changed almost everything you could possibly imagine - evaporator, control, sensor, compressor, display, etc., etc. And the company still refused to take any responsibilities. They kept telling me that more inspection was needed EVEN AFTER all the technicians said there was NOTHING THEY COULD DO. After having to yell at them for about an hour, they finally realized they had to issue me a new fridge. What a piece of crap they are. Even then when I called back about the exchange, they pretended they could not find my file. WTF??? They really tried EVERYTHING they could not to issue an exchange. Wow. What an incredible company and its customer service. I will never, ever buy another American product - nothing complicated with computerized parts anyway. They are NOT capable of producing such complex machines. They should stick with toasters or juicers - lol. Stupid Americans. LG and Samsung all the way baby!!! ** you Whirlpool.

I purchased a Whirlpool fridge (model GX2SHBXVQOO) on November 27, 2010 and it leaks water on my floor. I have to keep a towel there or it runs all over. I also purchased a Whirlpool range (model YGFE461LVQ) and the convection fan went on it a month after we bought it. The manufactures warranty does not allow repair people to travel any further than 100 km to repair, something that we had to take the stove in to be repaired. We got the stove back the same day and brought it home. Low and behold, after a short period of time it started to rattle again and got steadily worse. Also, now my one burner on high does not stay on high; it keeps going out then coming back on.I have called the place we purchased these pieces of junk from and they said there is nothing they can do. I also sent e-mails to Whirlpool and they said they will look into it and get back to me. That was months ago. I called Whirlpool and was basically told that there was nothing they can do, that I was to call the repairman. Never, never, ever buy a Whirlpool product.

I dont know how long it was doing this before I caught it. A repairman came out said I would need the equivalent of a motherboard that would cost $330.00. Needless to say, couldnt afford that amount for repair. So I purchased a very nice used Amana for $100.00. I always thought Whirlpool was a top of the line product. This has changed my mind. I have a Whirlpool Gas Water Heater, product #0733136, that was installed in 2010. The pilot has repeatedly gone out and had to be re-lit. I will never buy another Whirlpool appliance, and fortunately, I am in property management and can advise others to avoid this company as well. My Whirlpool Gold, Model # G16FDRXxQ06, has failed four (4) separate times. In each case I lost thousands of dollars, mostly in high-quality frozen foods. A Sears repair service representative came and repaired the refrigerator. In less than a year, after each repair, I had to call again. Three of these failures resulted in the loss of my food because the refrigerator simply stopped running. Unfortunately, I had been away from home for more than a week. One failure was caused by water leaking. This was apparently caused by a frozen pipe under the refrigerator. The repairman said that this was a routine failure for this Whirlpool model. I would like to recover my financial loss from Whirlpool. Is there a process to claim my loss? Is there a better, more reliable refrigerator?

Whirlpools response has been disgraceful, trying to blame the problem on faulty installation when thousands of people have had the same problem. Ignore ANY US companys product; their warranties are worthless and they repair, not replace. My next oven will be European because in Europe they have to automatically warranty for five years any consumer durable. Consumer Reports ratings are worthless since they dont include breakdown experience in the ratings. Never buy anything from Whirlpool. They sell rubbish and dont honor their own warranty. Check the BBB rating. My brand new double oven broke down the first time that I ran the self clean cycle. Whirlpools response was to claim that the cutout opening was 1/8 inch too narrow and therefore they would not honor the five year warranty that I had bought from them. This was a lie, as I verified the width and it was exactly that required. Others have had the same experience. Whirlpool also makes Maytag, Kitchenaid, Kenmore and Ikea.

We purchased Model WTW81920758200YW0 on September 8, 2012. Its performance has been unsatisfactory, not cleaning the clothes as advertised. Not long after the warranty expired the main bearing failed, bringing a local service technician and we were left with a bill of over $300.00. Yesterday, the machine stopped in mid-cycle. The display went blank and the lid lock would not release. I called a local service company for a visit and the soonest a repairman could show up was next week.A call to a service we had used for the bearing surmised that without knowing the cause of the failure they could only guess that a circuit board was at fault. That visit would be over $300.00 with labor and materials. That was the last straw. We broke the lid lock to retrieve the contents and took a ride to buy another brand of washer. We went back to the appliance store where we purchased this machine to buy a Samsung front loader. The salesman apologized for selling the Cabrio in the first place. Good money after a bad product.

I moved into an apartment in July 2010 after closing in May 2010. My microwave by Whirlpool stopped heating a few days after the one year warranty was over. This appliance was of April 2009 series. My builder doesnt take responsibility and Whirlpool asks for huge service visits and repair costs that leaves me with no choice but to replace, and that too with the same product. This will cost me about $600-700 including installation and warranty, etc. I strongly believe that consumers should be protected against such liabilities. I have to pay for the product, the removal of the faulty one, installation of the new one plus taxes, plus transportation etc., only because Whirlpool sold it and the builder bought it (they are also hand in hand with these suppliers and dont bother after occupancy). I initially purchased all new Whirlpool products as part of my new home purchase in a Pulte subdivision, June, 2011. My WP microwave failed to heat in 2012 and the replacement of the Magnetron and Inverter and service was covered under warranty (would have cost me $493.51). Sadly, the microwave again failed to heat in 2014. I was so disgusted with this second failure, I decided to live without a MW until January, 2016 when I paid for my second service call and learned, once again, I needed a replacement Magnetron and Inverter, to the tune of $400. Both servicemen told me the 2011 magnetron/ inverter mechanisms were new technology and did not last long. Again, sadly, when I contacted Whirlpool, they would not admit to their defective product line and indicated they could do nothing since I am out of warranty. It is unconscionable that a corporation is not liable for their defective products.

Got this refrigerator when I old one of 10 years through AHS home warranty. I asked for a similar one to the one we had. Surprisingly we received the Whirlpool which turns out to 5 times better than are old GE. Same height and width but deeper and with more compartments. We are extremely happy with it

Cabrio (h2low system) top load washer ..USA 120 volt - A true piece of crap... Bought 2010... Even when it does work, 5% of any load will NOT spin out... The damn thing will refill its tub with rinse water to redistribute load so as to get a spin out. SOMETIME month ago, thing just dies... nothing. Technician comes out for two hours its the shift sensor. Replace for 200+ bucks... done. Works for three weeks, dies, tech is back. 4 hrs... its a bad processor board. Ordered 140$ rebuild, comes in mail few days later. Tech is back, replaces board. We have smoke!! Looks like a bad motor part. I could go on... but why. Never ever buy one of these sorry pieces of dreck. Absolutely the worst. Poor quality even when it works. Horrible wash quality. Never again Cabrio. Remember it.

I bought a 50-gal. Whirlpool electric hot water heater about 6 years ago from Lowes. About every two years, something goes bad. So far, I had to replace electronic control board that sits on top of heater twice. Then the heating element went bad. Well, this time, the electronic control board started to smoke and melt. I was home so I smelled something melting and found it. What would have happened if I was not at home? I have dogs that are like my kids; they could have been killed. Whirlpool wants to send the replacement parts knowing this part is no good. Do not buy a Whirlpool electric water heater! Now, Im scared the next time I wont be at home to find the thing smoking. I dont have money to buy a new one. How many other people have the same problem?

We bought a Cabrio washer less than three years ago. I have never felt that it got my clothes clean. The washer recently stopped spinning and agitating. We were told by a very experienced repair technician today that the gear case and bearings in the tub need to be replaced at a cost of $700.00. Needless to say, I am very upset. I called the Whirlpool Company and after being on hold for almost 15 minutes, I was told that my washer is too old to qualify for any help with repair cost or part replacement. My household consists of two adults. We do on average three loads a week. This is an inferior appliance and after this experience I will never purchase another Whirlpool product.

Whirlpool Washer WTW8700EC + Dryer WGD8700EC. Bought to replace a 35-year-old Whirlpool set that is still working and had no repairs in that 35 years of ownership. Gave to family member and its working well. Was not a cheap item but well worth the money. It performs beautifully. I chose Whirlpool. It is a proven brand with a long history of reliability. When I bought my last Whirlpool, I bought the top of the line model washer and dryer. They say you get what you pay for and that holds true in my case as has with many others who believe it! So this time I did the same thing and bought the best top loader they had. It has many options I still need to learn. I just use it like the old machine and dont need to worry about types of fabrics or making mistakes. Just follow the instructions for detergent and softeners and all is good. This machine cleans as great as the old one without beating the clothes to death. New agitator design keeps from paddling the clothes, so I dont need to use the gentle cycle or medium to preserve the clothes. The dryer I can say is most efficient as I noticed it took far less time to dry, and notice a small drop in my electric bill and gas bill. I think this will be my last machine ever needed. I do take care of my things and I do clean and polish my machines, they are an investment like a car or house. Front loaders have a lot of problems with leaks from the doors. Will stick with top load only!

Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum washing machine: You wont believe this until you call a parts replacement place for tiny part. The plastic (or vinyl) lid hinge bearings are located at hinge corners of lid. Hinge pin passes through them, one on each side. Half the size of a penny, UNCONSCIONABLE greed at the price of $32-$33 dollars EACH when ordered from a parts place. IMHO, design by INTENTIONAL failure to fail after three or four years. As a result, the lid will not stay up on its own. Then you find out the horrible news which is an insult to intelligence. Id have expected to pay maybe two or three dollars each, but NEVER the price they are demanding. Theyve got you and there is NOTHING you can do about it. At that rate, parts would run tens of thousands of dollars to replace the entire machine, part by part. These greedy clowns make car dealers look like reasonable people! The LAST Whirlpool machine of ANY kind we will EVER own!

In Feb. 2014 we moved into a new Condo and bought all new kitchen appliances, MAKING one mistake, a Whirlpool side by side refrigerator, Model WRS322FDAM 01. It had to be ordered and was received by Lowes on March 10th. Letters from Whirlpool told me that their service warranty had ended as of 2/1/15 which predated our receipt of the fridge. It is a bit noisy with the ice maker, and when it fills up with water, you can hear it, and yes, the ice does fly a bit when you put it into your glass. The worst thing about this piece of junk, is how cheaply it is made. The materials used must have come from the rejected pile of parts. Its just my husband and I, no grandchildren/children and very little company. So, the fridge received average use and then within 6 months, one of the drawers cracked at the back. I tried to glue it back together myself because I was told that it was not a covered item??? My repair lasted a few months and then came apart entirely. When I removed the broken shelf I noticed something around the LED light on the liner in the back of the fridge. I pulled out the meat drawer and found a crack that began at the bottom of the light and had moved about 3 inches to the left, and another one that began at the right of the light and that was about 4 inches or so.Life intervened and when I looked again, the right side crack had split and deepened and it had now crossed over to the rounded edging connecting the back liner to the side liner. The left side crack had also moved further to the left, and is now approaching the side corner. I spoke with Whirlpool and they sent out a repair company who e-mailed a photo of the cracks to them from our home. The company response was that they would cover the crack with 482395 liner tape. - this was their idea of a repair.I then spoke with a Lowes representative who agreed to send another repair firm out. Well, they came today and when they spoke with Whirlpool, they were told to order an Epoxy kit (# 8212572) - this was their version of a repair. I spoke with a supervisor and told her that they were not repairing the liner, they were just placing a bandage on top of the crack. I compared it to owning a new car but having cracks in the dashboard. In this case the dealer would place tapes over the cracks instead of just replacing the dash. Neither response from Whirlpool was a repair. All they were doing was hiding their piece of garbage. She disagreed and would offer nothing further. I told her that I was going to bring this to the attention of any consumer group that I could, and might even see if a class action suit could be brought to bear as there were many other reports of cracked liners. We are totally disgusted with the product and its manufacturer. Whirlpool used to have a good reputation, but after this, it is now at the bottom of the garbage barrel.

After 6 years, Our $2500 Whirlpool refrigerator stopped cooling and would not dispense ice. Since we had purchased a Whirlpool extended warranty, a Whirlpool authorized technician replaced the compressor and informed Whirlpool it also required a new door that included an ice dispenser. A door was not available so Whirlpool refused additional repair and refunded the $400 purchase price of the warranty. Meanwhile the refrigerator stopped cooling again and Whirlpool refused any additional obligation. The refrigerator was now non-functional and we had to spend $3500 to get a comparable refrigerator. The moral: 1) Whirlpool makes very expensive refrigerators that have about 30% of the life-span compared to earlier vintage refrigerators. 2) They know this and will promptly refuse to warrant their product if it is to their benefit. Shame on you Whirlpool for using your corporate leverage and shady business practices to manipulate your customers.

In the first year of my Whirlpool Washing Machine, the motor quit working entirely. Fortunately, the machine was under a 1-year warranty and the motor was replaced by a Whirlpool service technician. My big complaint with this washing machine is this: Even though you select hot water for the wash cycle, the machine has sensors in it that only allow the water to get lukewarm. If it senses the water getting too hot, it adds cold water to bring the wash temperature back down to 78 degrees F. Next time I will do my research and buy a machine that actually allows one to use hot water.

I purchased a high dollar built in side by side fridge with custom panels in 4/2005 and had my first service call in 5/2005. Since 2005 we have had 11 service call mostly for defrost failures and over temp. readings. From 2011-11/20/2013 we were issue free then the fridge over temp alarm sounded and we could not hear the fan motor. We had the certified tech come out to evaluate and found that the main control board needed to be replaced. Kitchen Aid/Whirlpool no longer make this item and forwarded us to Core Centric solutions to have a new one built. After speaking with the certified tech who had been out to service our fridge 11 times he informed us that these boards in his experience have never lasted more than a year. We spoke with a customer service rep a Kitchen Aid and asked about a prorated discount on a new built in fridge and she said it seemed reasonable but after checking for authorization informed me I needed to have the board rebuilt at my own cost and that even though this typically takes about 4 weeks to build the fact that our family would be without a fridge is not Kitchen Aids problem. 6/20/2005-over temp/not cooling call (replaced defrost thermostat) 9/2005-over temp/freezer iced over in bottom (freezer decided and drain unclogged) 10/05-over temp/not cooling (replaced fan motor) 9/06-over temp/freezer iced over in bottom (drain line decided, kitchen aid had no advice on how to fix) 10/06-over temp/not cooling, ice build up (whirlpool recommended replace heat kit and bimetal) 11/7-over temp and ice buildup in freezer with leakage (adj to drain pump and defrost drain basin made) 11/07- over temp and freezer icing over (whirlpool sent out a new heater probe) 6/08-over temp and ice buildup (bimetal and foam block replaced) 10/09-over temp, lights and motor shutting on and off (replaced defective board) 10/09- fan making excessive noise (ice buildup found on evaporator fan)11/13-over temp ice buildup in freezer, burning smell from fridge and no air movement or cooling in either compartment (need board rebuilt as on 10/09)Board no longer available from whirlpool, must be custom built at owners expense and will take up to 4 weeks. D/t continuing issues and whirlpool not willing to help the customer with replacement I would highly suggest no one buy a Kitchen Aid fridge.

This Whirlpool washing machine is incredibly annoying and slow in everything it does. First off when you press the START button it takes 2-3 minutes before it decides to do anything, like maybe add water (except click, click and more click). If you have pressed the start button and you want to stop it to add something... again you have to wait almost 2-3 minutes before the lock is released and you can open the door. I am at 2 hrs and 15 minutes as I write this on the LIGHT WASH cycle with extra rinse and its still going. I have never seen anything like it. Cant imagine how long a HEAVY CYCLE takes. Cannot even try to measure the time. I put the load in and go to work and hope its complete when Im done 8 hrs later. We had a Maytag for 15 years with no issues (other than a drain hose cracked and had to be replaced) and it was time for a new one with a move to a new place. The sales associate convinced us this was the best machine at the time... Well what a mistake that was. There are no complaints about the actual washing. Everything comes out clean but I suppose taking that long I cant imagine why it wouldnt. I certainly cant recommend a Whirlpool washer to a friend, because I dread the thought of doing laundry at this point.

I had the junky gas water heater for two years and cant keep the thing lit. Calling Whirlpool does no good. They give you the runaround; the store cant do anything. They know they have a faulty product and keep selling it. Some companies are only out for the money. If that wasnt the case, they would discontinue the junk. They will send you replacement parts but if you know nothing about them, you have to put out more money for someone to come and fix it. I would love to send them the bill! I would not recommend this brand of anything to anyone.

Bought a Whirlpool washer and dryer in 2/2013. In 5/2014, the washer went out of balance, but corrected itself quickly. Since then, it sounds like a cement mixer during the spin cycle. It took one month to get someone to come out and look at it. Apparently the bearings went and the part alone costs $450! Add another $250-$300 for labor and I could buy another washer. We called Whirlpool, who were unwilling to do anything to rectify the situation, i.e., replace the washer, send a replacement part, give us a discount on the replacement part. We didnt buy the extended warranty because who would think that a brand new washer would crap out after 15 months... and theres only the two of us.Not like Im washing clothes for a family of 5! I only needed a new washer/dryer because I moved out of state and didnt want to move the ones I had. Regretting that decision. Its unfortunate that there has been a decline in the manufacturing of goods to the point that they can be considered a throw away item. Will NOT be replacing this with another Whirlpool.

I purchased a Whirlpool range YGY399LXUQ in 2012 from a great local appliance store, Trail Appliances. In 2013 the control panel stopped working and I contacted Trail. They quickly came out and replaced the control panel. In 2014 the same issue came up, but Trail could and would not do anything so I contacted Whirlpool Directly - they came out and replaced the control panel. In 2015 (same month) the control panel is not working AGAIN and Whirlpool has washed their hands of it. A replacement is over $400 + installation. The stove is barely worth that much. I would have thought that they would stand behind their product, in that this is an obvious continual issue or at the very least the service that they provide. I would not recommend their ranges to anyone because they will not stand behind what they product nor will I ever purchase anything that Whirlpool makes as it is obviously low quality.

Replaced an old water heater with new Whirlpool 40 gal. short natural gas water heater N40561-403. Good instruction, very clear directions. Also purchased at Lowes was a Utilitech universal gas water heater installation kit. The nipples provided in the kit screwed very loosely into cold water inlet and hot water outlet. I used teflon tape and finished the installation. When I turned the water on both fittings leaked. I couldnt tighten the nipples any further so I shut the water off and drained the tank a bit and reinstalled the nipples with at least 8-9 wraps of teflon tape. Im not sure if that is normal or if nipples were under size or if the cold water inlet and hot water outlet were larger dia. than normal. FYI.

I purchased a (second) Whirlpool washer (WFW87HEDW0) in October 2014. Since purchasing (and to this day), I manually dried the rubber gasket after completing my daily washes, knowing that mold growth was possible. I wash one to two loads of clothes about three to four days per week. During the first year, I did not notice any mold in this area and was confident that the manual drying and cleaning with Affresh was preventing mold growth. However, at the beginning of this year I discovered a little mold growth, which has slowly been increasing, in the inside lower lip of the rubber gasket. The image attached reflects mold in its current state. I was very surprise to see this happening since my diligent cleaning has been thorough and never ending. I even remove the soap dispenser tray to clean and air dry it outside of the washer and leave the washer door open at the end of the daily washes for extra fresh air circulation. This is my first official complaint about a Whirlpool front loader washer, even though I previously owned another (GHW9200LQ0) before this one and had mold growing on the rubber door gasket but, unfortunately, never officially complained about that old machine. Now, I dont qualify for the $500 compensation because I never officially complained three times within the first five years of owning the old washer. To my dismay, I did not immediately realize I had mold growth in the old washer. It was only until years later that a repairman told me that I had mold growth in it. In addition to telling me the price of replacing the rubber part and replacing a broken water pump plus labor would cost as much as buying a new washer. Before purchasing a new washer, I researched and read many reviews about Whirlpool and other brands before deciding on this new Whirlpool. I decided to give Whirlpool another chance and to follow their recommendations on the proper cleaning of the machine. Once again, I am disappointed and angry with Whirlpool and, now, have to figure out what to do with my current situation.

We purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio Washer (Mod #WTW7300XW1) and Dryer in 2011. Also the sealed tank around the drum is now leaking. We invested close to $1000.00 in this washer and in my opinion it is a piece of junk. I first want to begin by saying that we have been a Whirlpool family for years. I now own a Whirlpool microwave, hot water heater, washer/dryer, Jenn-Air stove and dishwasher. My problem now is with the Cabrio Washer purchased in 2008. I started having problems in 2011 and the same problem has raised its ugly head again. When I try to use the Clean cycle, it starts at a 60-minute cycle and goes down to a 2-minute cycle in 3 minutes without cleaning or even running water into the tub. This time, it made a terrible noise and stopped. The tub was replaced in July 2011 after having the same complaint as above. The repairman said that the mechanism on the tub to fit into the spinning cycle is made of plastic and is not holding up. Also, in March 2012, a new control board was installed. I spoke to Whirlpool Customer Service and they informed me that they did not have any other complaints about the Clean cycle and that I should call the repairman. Luckily, I purchased an extended warranty. I vote a thumbs down on the Cabrio washer.

First twice the frame that holds the crisper drawers broken. We bought parts and fixed worked for only short time. Second we bought extended warranty from Home Depot for 5 years. At about 4.5 years ice maker started freezing up. The valve that controls the amt of water that goes in was broken. Had it fixed under warranty. Started having a little problem with it in a couple months. Lasted 8 months. Broke again. Froze up. Had to pound on ice maker compartment door to get open. Once again water overflowed. Froze everything up. Called. Of course our of warranty now expired. Called the guy that put the ice maker repair parts in. The part under warranty but now I have to pay for labor and them coming out to look at it. Now why would I want to put another defective ice maker in. I called Whirlpool. They didn’t care. We have many Maytag appliances in our home but they will be the last. The appliances they make now are cheaply made.

We purchased the Whirlpool Duet (front loader) washer and dryer in 2005 from Best Buy. We had many problems with the washer leaking around the front door. After several visits, Best Buy (in 2007) said we could pick out a new washer. We picked out the Whirlpool Cabrio. About 2 years later the mother board had to be replaced on the Cabrio. We are constantly getting F codes and have to unplug the washer several times for it to reset. It also sounds like a plane getting ready to take off and from what I read that repair is very costly. It has been leaking as well. I contacted Whirlpool today and they informed me that there was no recall on the machine and when I told them that there were many complaints for the same issues online, they said they do not base their recalls on blogs and to fix the problem, I would have to incur the cost. This machine is the biggest piece of junk that I have ever owned. I will be sure not purchase a Whirlpool in the future!

I bought a 40-gallon hot water heater in November 2007. First problem I had with it was in 2009 when the pilot wouldnt stay lit. They sent me a requisition number to take to Lowe’s to pick up the part (igniter) and gave me a service number to give to the plumber to fix it. Plumber actually told me these heaters were junk and this wasnt the last problem Id have. Last Sunday (January 2012)--here we go again. Pilot went out and wont stay lit. Whirlpool is telling me its because I have a draft. Yeppers, that must be it because after they had me (arthritic 53-year old) and my disabled husband performing circus acts trying to relight it, then it was the filter on the bottom, then it was a draft. Last time I tried to light, which really someone as blind and disabled as me shouldnt be doing anyway, I about blew up. I hate getting ** by big corps. I filed a complaint with state Attorney General. If that doesnt work, hell, I think Ill take both Whirlpool and Lowe’s to small claims court. What do I have to lose? $35? Their fancy-schmancy lawyers will probably charge them a couple grand for their efforts. Im sick and tired of getting the short end of the stick. Since when is a hot water tank supposed to last a mere 4 years? Oh, by the way, Whirlpool says it’s all on me now--well see about that. First of all, both of these chumps just lost a customer and I Facebooked by friends about this pleasant experience plus included a link to this page. Consequences are all mine, I guess. Its pretty swell bathing in a sink full of water that you heated on the stove. I dont have any money because Im too busy giving it all to big insurance and big pharma right now. What a country!

It seems the quality issue of the LED of the washer Whirlpool Cabrio. It was broken from the screw part of the glass and the plastic/alloy and the glass. They would charge me $416 to replace the LED but I rejected and was still required to pay $85 for labor fee. I called the company and they didnt admit that was a quality issue but I just found many consumers had the same problem. If someone would like to have a lawsuit, please contact me and I will join.
