CODE: LOC or LC 
PROBLEM: Control Lock has been activated  
FIX: Touch the Control Lock button, or (on older models) determine which button activates control lock from your Owner's Manual. Some models require you to press and hold the button. 

CODE: dET  
PROBLEM: Detergent cartridge not detected in the dispenser.  
FIX: This is on select models. If you are using single-load doses of detergent, ignore this message. Ensure the dispenser cartridge is inserted correctly and the dispenser drawer is shut completely. 

CODE: Int  
PROBLEM: The cycle was paused or canceled.  
FIX: The washer may take 20 to 30 minutes to stop spinning and drain, and will display this error code during that time. To remove the code, press pause or cancel button twice and the power button once. If the code is still displayed, unplug the washer or disconnect the power for one minute. 

CODE: rL or F34  
PROBLEM: Items were detected in the washer during the Clean Washer cycle.  
FIX: Remove items from the drum and restart the Clean Washer cycle. 

CODE: Sud or Sd  
PROBLEM: There are too many suds in the washing machine.  
FIX: The washer will not be able to spin out water with the excess suds. When "Sud" or "Sd" is displayed, the washer automatically extends the rinse time to remove the excess suds. During this time, the washer pauses the tumbling and adds water for additional rinsing. This pause allows the bubbles in the suds to break. This pause and rinsing are necessary and may occur several times to eliminate the suds. 

CODE: F5 E2  
PROBLEM: The door is not locking properly.  
FIX: Check that there are no items blocking the door and it is closing completely. Press the Pause or Cancel button twice and the Power button once to clear the code. 

CODE: F7 E1  
PROBLEM: Indicates a motor speed sensing error,  
FIX: The motor can not achieve the correct speed for the cycle selection. Check that All the shipping bolts have been removed, the washer has not been overloaded, press the Pause or Cancel button twice and the Power button once to clear the code. 

CODE: F8 E1 or LO FL  
PROBLEM: The washer is sensing a low flow of water.  
FIX: Check that, the household water supply is turned on and both the cold and the hot water faucets or valves are fully open. The water inlet hoses are not kinked (learn more about How to check your Fill Hoses if your Washer is not Filling). There are no anti-flood hoses and controls in the water line connected to the washer (learn more about Should I use Flood Safe Devices on my Front Load Washer. Press the Pause or Cancel button twice and the Power button once to clear the code. 

CODE: F8 E2  
PROBLEM: Indicates there is a problem with the Dispenser System  
FIX: This is on select models. Verify detergent drawer or detergent cartridge is not clogged with detergent.  

CODE: F9 E1  
PROBLEM: Indicates that drain times are longer than expected, typically over eight (8) minutes.  
FIX: Make sure the drain hose is not kinked or clogged. Use the U-shaped drain hose form on the drain hose. The standpipe (drainpipe) height requirements are 96" (244 cm) maximum and 39" (99 cm) minimum. 

CODE: Other F# E# code  
PROBLEM: Indicates other error  
FIX: Unplug the washer or disconnect the power for one minute and reconnect it again. Reselect the cycle and press Start.

My 4-year old water heater has upper/lower sensor issues for the fourth time this year. The rep was supposed to send replacement parts to arrive today (day four with no hot water), but the wrong ones were shipped. A different rep called and offered to exchange the unit for a new one. The expense to me will be $350-$450 for the plumber to uninstall my unit, take it to Lowes and bring the new one back to install. The plumber suggested I take my $450 and just buy a new non-Whirlpool unit. He knew immediately that I had a Whirlpool hot water heater because its the most common repaired vendor. Whirlpool should be covering this expense for re-installation of their inferior product. Poor customer service. Day 4 with no hot water during the holidays with no solution in sight short of me purchasing a new hot water heater. Whirlpool finally got the right parts to me and I paid a plumber $190 to install. One week to the day later, my pilot light will not stay lit. No change in ventilation since it has been installed. I will say I have been dealing with their rep Chris on the phone who is extremely nice and I feel sorry for him. But we all have the exact same issue which is not being resolved.

I have a Whirlpool double oven. When I attempted to use the self-clean feature according to manufacture instruction, the bottom oven stopped cleaning in the middle of the cycle. I had a repairman out and he replaced the thermal fuse in the back of the oven. It cost $85. I didnt attempt to clean it again for another few months since I dont use the bottom oven often. When I did attempt to use the self-clean feature according to manufacture instruction, the same thing happened. I called the repairman and he said that the thermal fuse would blow every time I tried to clean the oven, because of the way the oven was manufactured. I contacted Whirlpool and they were not at all helpful. I intend to contact them again.

When I grew up, my mom and dad had a Whirlpool dishwasher and it was the ONLY dishwasher we EVER had. The SAME one, for over 20 years! So, with confidence, I purchased a mid-range unit. (over $600 2015). By 2016, ONE year later, I was already buying replacement parts because the top rack was falling apart and the bottom spinner broke as well. The parts were extremely expensive and hard to find. Now, a mere 4 years later, you cannot find ANY parts for this machine and there are so many issues with the unit. It is no longer functioning. When it did work it ran for 4 HOURS!! Even then, the dishes are filthy. I am so upset by whirlpool. I want a full refund from the company for treating their loyal customer so badly.

My washer was already installed in my home when I purchased it and I must say, it helps when the family gets together and you don't feel like washing the dishes. The dual chamber pod holder is great if you need to use and the heat function works wonderful. I don't have the problem of the left over water that a lot of dishwashers leave behind and no spots!

It cleans well, and is easy to select water temp, spin speed, etc. It's simple to load, but because I am short, I have difficulty reaching stuff at the bottom of the tub. A stool is needed. LOL. In the 5 years that I have owned it, I have not needed any kind of service to be done on it. Very reliable. I have had Whirlpool washers and dryers before and my success with them is why I purchased the set I have now. And so far, so good. Highly recommend.

I replaced my 12 year old Whirlpool double ovens with the current Whirlpool double ovens. The new 30 built in double ovens have been re-designed to vent the heat below the lower oven. The ovens come with a part that pushes the heat down instead of straight out. My built in ovens have a cabinet drawer below and after using the ovens just 4 times over the holidays I noticed the heat is damaging the finish. According to Whirlpools service center I should have checked on that before buying/installing. They told me to stop using my ovens, that this is a fire hazard, but they are not responsible. They do not have a solution to this problem. This is a poor design on their part. There is a disclaimer in their installation booklet that came packed with the ovens that the installer gave me. It says the cabinets need to be able to withstand the heat of the ovens. The cabinets can handle the heat of the ovens, just not the hot air venting directly onto the cabinets below the oven. Where does one find cabinets that can withstand 400 degree heat being pushed directly onto them? As a customer I did not have that information until after the ovens were installed and it was too late to purchase another brand.

We purchased a Whirlpool upright frost-less freezer (model # EVL201NXRQ05) in October of 2008. So, you see, it is not even four years old. A few months ago I noticed that some things in the freezer were very soft. I looked at the back of the freezer and there was some ice buildup around the area where the coils are located. I took everything out of the freezer and removed the panel over the coils. There was major ice buildup on the coils. I completely defrosted it and dried it out. I restarted it and it seemed to be working okay. But a few days ago, when I got something from the top shelf of the freezer, it was not even frozen. So, here I go again. I removed everything from the freezer and have defrosted it again. However, this time, as soon as I turned it back on, the ice started building up on the coils immediately. It is impossible to contact anyone at Whirlpool that gives a crap. We have also been having problems with our Whirlpool Gold refrigerator. We have spent over $250 on it and it still is not working properly. I would love to just throw them in a ravine, but we have spent a lot of money on these appliances. We thought that Whirlpool was supposed to be number one in appliances. What a huge mistake we have made and it is costing us dearly.

The reason for the call was to find out how to file a claim after replacing the ice maker and paying for it the 3rd time, they were very argumentative and would not listen to me about the design flaw in the wire harness that burns up the motor for the ice maker. I found out about the design flaw from talking to the repairman that replace the ice maker who works for Dick Kearsley Clearfield UT. He told me that Whirlpool knows about the problem for the 22 cubic foot and 25 cubic foot refrigerator and that is why they have 2 different new wire harnesses in the box for replacement of the old wiring harness.

He said it would cost over $500 to fix it. Whirlpool warranty sucks - only one year. Called whirlpool, told them the problem and asked if this is a problem with this washer. Got told no they have no problems with it. Found out later not only do they have this problem with it they change design because of it. Repairman said his own daughter had same problem and he had many service calls on this model all with same problem. WHIRLPOOL WILL NOT REPAIR OR REPLACE PRODUCT WHICH IS A MANUFACTURE DEFAULT. It sets in our house unusable. I will never buy a whirlpool product again. Sad because that use to be all I would buy.

Lowes will not fix the problem when there is 1000s of complaints. I would have never paid this much, if I knew it wasnt going to last!UPDATED ON 05/15/2015: Whirlpool sent out Appliance Hospital to diagnose the problems. The washing machine needs a new tub, seals, circuit boards, drain motor etc and the dryer needs everything + an idler pulley because the original one disintegrated. The part they want me to buy is the same one that already failed. The cost to fix it, is over the amount I paid. REALLY? Somebody needs to do something to help the consumers. Blogging doesnt seem to help. I am handicapped and I have to go to the laundry mat now because I cant afford another set. DONT BUY WHIRLPOOL.

The cold water only rinse is not an environmental feature... clothes come out so wrinkled that instead of hanging them to dry as I used to (after shaking out the few wrinkles from a warm water rinse in the old washer) I now have use the dryer. This refrigerator (Model #wrf560seymoo, Serial # VS31343718) was new in April 2013. In the last 3 years it has required 3 service repairs. Two under the extended warranty, one recent one 3 months out of warranty. All repairs came up in the last 3 years. The first repair addressed frost build up in the freezer. The second required replacement of the water filter compartment and the third will be addressing water dripping from the freezer door when I open it. Even after turning off the ice maker and removing the frozen puddle from the bottom of the freezer, it still drips water when I open the door. I have a call into service on this right now. I would like the company to fix the current issue even though it is outside of warranty. This product is too new to have so many problems and be just over 5 years old.

The plastic around the lower door handle is cracking (currently in 4 directions from the handle) and the plastic on the side of the control panel is cracking in the center area and lower side. Neither of these area experience abnormal stress in day-to-day use. Unfortunately I could not get a good photo of the other crack on the lower corner of the control panel but included the one on the side in the middle. I contacted Whirlpool customer support about 1-2 months ago and to date, have not received any type of response or concern from them about this issue.

My past machines have lasted 12 plus years on upwards to 15 years each.Let me share exactly what my washing machine is doing: I went to wash clothes as usual the other day; the machine filled up and stopped abruptly - that was it! It did not spin but instead emptied the water without washing the clothes and made some loud chitty chitty bang bang noises before it was all over. I unplugged it after wasting a lot more water thinking that it might just suddenly start working. It did not start working again, it just continued its non-working status.My family has bought Whirlpool washing machines and dryers for years from Sears; we were totally satisfied with the products we purchased, however, this washing machine did not make the five year mark. I really do not know what is going on with the machine; what I do know is this - it stopped working and I would like to get it working again. I contacted an appliance company who came out for $95.00 and used some type of spray looking device to check for leakage or bubbles to tell us we had no problem. Our warranty was only good for the one year. The appliance company ripped us off and Whirlpool was a bad deal. After reading of all the complaints of Whirlpool, I will not buy Whirlpool ever again. I exchanged my fancy front loader Cabrio washing machine for a top loader after having numerous issues: clothes werent getting clean, extended water cycle, and a leak. The original purchase was made at Lowes, where I elected to invest in the 3 yr extended warranty plan. After several visits from their sub-contractor, they allowed me to exchange the washer for a top loader Whirlpool Cabrio. At first the washer seemed to work, but after about 8 months I started having problems. The bearings went out and when the service company replaced it they forgot to screw top of the machine together. During my first load, I heard this terrible noise and discovered that the entire top of the machine had separated from the bottom by 2 inches. I frantically rushed to turn the washer off before my laundry room flooded. So, they were out again and screwed the machine back together but failed to retrieve the original screw that they removed from the washer during the first round. Well, the screw got lodged in-between the drum and interior, causing it to completely break the machine. Lowes agreed to exchange the washer for another top loader Cabrio, but my 3 year service contract would not cover the new washer. Not to my surprise, I immediately had issues with it and had to hire a repairman to assess the problem, who concluded that it was the bearings. He informed me that it would be about $700 to replace the bearings and cheaper to just buy a new machine. I called Whirlpool and explained to them about all my issues, now becoming almost comical. They arranged for an outside contractor to assess it. After confirming that the bearing were bad they replaced them. Another few months go by before problems occur, this time the washing machine stopped draining water and spinning. The service company was out another 4 times. They replaced things like the mother board and control panel. My last appointment was today, where the service guy said, There is only one error code. It is a stuck button. I said, Will you at least witness a full cycle so I can show you all my problems: clothes still dirty and stinky, items still wet after spin cycle, cycle taking 2 to 3 hours to run, horrible noises, and timer adding minutes to original cycle. He called Whirlpool because he genuinely felt sorry for my situation. They were of no help. He didnt stay to witness a cycle. Moral of story: if the error code doesnt detect a problem, the consumer will not be helped (this is something that consumers do not have access to). They will happily call a technician out to put a bandaid on an issue until your warranty runs out. I have had between 7 to 10 service calls out to my house, requiring me to take either an entire or 1/2 day off of work each time. If I added up all time lost at work, I could have easily purchased a top-of-the-line washer/dryer duo and been done with all this Whirlpool foolishness. Do yourself a favor, stay away from this product.

Expensive extended warranty came and replaced the Ice Maker, which (about a year later) has just started leaking all over the floor (again).This I suspect was a protest against using all of the ice one day. It froze up, which causes the leak, froze solid items that were in the fridge compartment (and spoiled some items).The other design fault is while the right hand door will stay open, the left will not, it closes. But it does not close properly - just enough to make you think it is closed.Dangle beers in a nearby stream, keep your food in the cellar, dig a deep hole in the backyard, learn to eat all your food the day you buy it, but do not buy this fridge!

After numerous complaints, Whirlpool offered the best they could do, that was to extend our warranty (6 additional months). The first drum was broken upon delivery, so another would have to be ordered. There goes another week. Finally it came in. We were all but assured the problem would be fixed.Two days later, same drain error code! 3 more socks caught in the drain pump! Took the socks out myself after watching them do it so I didnt have to call them out again and pay the fee. Next day, there were more holes in clothes! Called and and they said they cant get a service guy out for at least a week! That was all during the Christmas and New Years holidays! January 9th, the service repair man came and said, Yep, its the same problem. We need to replace the tub and drum again. The part would be guaranteed to be in by Friday, January 13th!Guess what? Today I got a call, the parts were on back-order and it wont be until January 24th until they can become available. Seriously? Seriously?! I have a family of 6. Me, my wife, a 8 year old girl, a 7 year old girl, a 5 year old boy and an 18 month old girl. The piles upon piles of laundry are limitless waiting for empty promises.In the meantime, we have had to wash essential clothes (school clothes, socks, underwear, etc.) at laundromats, and friends and other family members houses. Whirlpool doesnt give a care about any of our problems. I come from a huge family, as does my wife. Together, we probably have 100 family members. Warranty was one year and I went online only to notice that the OEM factory replacement part(s) are now made out of stainless steel (or aluminum). I also noted that the parts were made prior to 2015 (date on the video and other vendor sites) Which is a good 2 years prior to my purchasing of this product. This means that they obviously knew there was an issue but continued to produce and sell them with known faulty parts well after they realized at least 2 plus years when you consider that they would have had to re-tool, redesign and send to production prior to the product release date.So it looks like they have continued to sell the product knowing fully well they were defective and did so just to sell replacement parts or to use up existing parts inventory. I work in the second largest printing company in the world for 28 years on press and know a bit about quality workmanship. Its really sort of typical on how over the years some good manufacturers cut quality and design in planned obsolescence into their product just to make money for the useless corporate bloat that has taken over. I made the mistake in buying what I thought was a good product from a great company but they just proved me wrong. People do not buy any products from this manufacture and find out what other unit they make and steer away from them too.

It is self-destructing.I called Whirlpool, and they simply refused to address any questions, once I told them that I did not have an extended service plan and that my unit was older than 12 months. I informed them that I refused to pay for an ESP, because I refuse to pay additional monies in order for the product to perform as advertised. They were rude. I said bad words. The call ended.$600 was gone. And I now have to run out and buy another washer, and I can promise you it will not be a Whirlpool. I am a local law enforcement officer. I would love to speak with an attorney about this if a class action suit is pending. I am beyond pissed. My moms chartreuse-colored Maytag still works after almost 30 years of service to our family. It required a new drive belt at somewhere around year 17. The belt cost $45.The Whirlpool CS rep informed me in a surprisingly snarky fashion that it would probably cost over $360 for the total cost of repair and that the only way to know exactly how much is to schedule a service call. I was also told that I would be on the hook for $100 for the service call even if I declined the repair.

I was advised when I bought the machine to make sure to read the manual, which was very helpful in learning to use it properly. I have never had residue on my dark clothing or ever had the clothes come out partially dry. I use liquid HE detergent nothing powder goes in the machine. I also read many reviews before buying it and a got some advice from them. I have washed king size comforters with no problems. Everything has always cleaned very well. The only issues I have are that when bleach was used in a previous cycle. Ive had a problem with the bleach not being fully dispensed and ending up in the next load. Fortunately it was just towels and not darks!!! Although, I had just bought the towels and now they look tie died which was very upsetting to me. I learned to add water to the bleach dispenser to dilute it and that issue seemed to dissipate. BUT NOW... I COULD THROW A TANTRUM. I PAID 1800+ FOR THE PAIR AND THE WASHER IS SHOT!!! A pretty common problem with the Cabrio from what Ive read. It started by making a very loud noise when spinning, like a helicopter was landing in my laundry room! I continued using it, I even thought the sound was getting better after I did the clean cycle. The last load I did would not complete the cycle because it kept reading that it was unbalanced and unfortunately it was a load of heavy wet towels. I was far from happy when I had to remove them and go to a Laundromat. Needless to say its the bearings and to fix its very costly. I cant even fathom that a less than 4 year old machine needs to be repaired and the cost is roughly half of what I paid for it!!! I do know I will NEVER buy another Whirlpool. What happened to making things to last??? Next machine I will definitely get extended warranty. I can honestly agree with all the other reviews... THIS MACHINE IS HORRIBLE!!!

I thought this was a dumb answer because had I known that an over the stove microwave would have problems from cooking I would have installed it in my living room over the television. I called customer service several times. One of the times I called I talked to a representative who actually acted as if she wanted to help me. She suggested sending an e-mail with pictures and gave me an e-mail address. I did this and got no response. I was getting close to the warranty expiration date. I called again and was told that pictures wouldnt work; I would have to pay to have a serviceman come out and write a statement saying that it was not cosmetic. The cracking and chipping is so bad that I cant clean parts of the door because the cloth or sponges catch on the cracks. The door on the GE microwave did not look as bad after nine years of use as the Whirlpool does after 1 year and 8 days of use. I am not the smartest person in the world but I know the difference between poor quality material and workmanship as opposed to cosmetic problems. Im pretty sure that if my wife put her makeup on and pieces of her face started cracking and falling off she wouldnt want to hear that it is not a real problem its only cosmetic. Bottom line is I am very dissatisfied with the poor customer service and warranty problems I have experienced. I will not buy another Whirlpool product and would strongly suggest to others to buy any brand but Whirlpool.

I didn't realize it had an internal heater so I was moving the hose between hot & cold under the sink but now that I know. I will try the heater. The settings are complicated so you have to read the instructions fully. Before I read them I thought every load took 2-3 hours but they don't. I do like to use the heavy soil setting and that does take a couple hours, but if I'm in a hurry or the load is not that bad I use a shorter 50 min setting. For the drain hose I either put it out the window or put a screen in the sink & tie it to the faucet. You have to tie it down wherever you aim it because the water comes out with enough force to throw the hose. I had a couple incidents of kitchen flood before this stuck in my head, now that sucker is secured well. I intend to make a permanent drain to the pipe eventually but for now I just use window/ sink. This required a longer drain hose. For apartment use, I am very happy.

I cleaned the inside of the outer glass, but that didnt take care of the problem. Most of the stains are between the other two panes of glass. That, I cant get to. I feel that this is poor design and not sealed properly. I take good care of everything I own and I expected this range to last me the rest of my life but it is put together with cheap plastic parts that wont last long. It is the first new range that I ever owned and paid a lot more for it than any Ive had. I expected better.

We found out that a coin had passed through the barrel down into the pump and caused the plastic pump to crack with the high speed spin. We replaced that pump at a cost of over $100. We shopped around to find the part as reasonable as possible. The machine worked fine for about another 10 months, then it happened again. The new pump began spitting out water all over the floor. So again, we found another coin, another crack in the pump and again replaced it, another $100+. Finally, a third time, it was the same thing; the pump cracked due to a coin. This time, it was the pump on the opposite side, but still, water was all over the floor. This time, we ordered the part through Whirlpool and complained about this happening for a third time. My husband asked them about the Lemon Law and he was told that he would have had to purchase all of the pumps through Whirlpool. What does that have to do with it? We bought the pumps where we could afford them! The washer cost about $700 to begin with, and within 4 years, weve spent approx. $400 more? Thats not the end of it though. Now we are hearing loud noises and there is water all over the floor again every time you wash. This time, its not the pumps though. It appears that it has something to do with the bearings and maybe a seal somewhere around the barrel itself. But you can hear something knocking around - it sounds almost like a nut. We are going to call a local repairman to come and look at it tomorrow. This is just ridiculous. I feel like weve been completely duped over this purchase. The salesman talked this up like it was the cream of the crop and weve had nothing but problems. My last washing machine was a Kenmore and it lasted nearly 15 years and not once did I have to call a repairman or buy parts for it! Guess what Im going to buy again? If Whirlpool would just acknowledge these problems and fix them for people, it might renew faith in your company. I know I dont know the inner workings of a washing machine, but it seems to me that a screen prior to the pumps to keep coins from entering the pumps wouldve been a very cheap fix to a huge problem. I also own the Cabrio dryer and have hated it since the day I got it. It never dry things with one cycle. I always have to run it a second time. Knock on wood though, I have never had any breakdowns with that. I can guarantee my next buy will not be Whirlpool, nor will I pick expensive models again. I bought the cheap stuff years ago and it lasted forever! Im very nervous because I bought a Whirlpool fridge last year and I am praying I have no problems with that!

Thinking it was just a fluke, I replaced the broken washer with another exact model (I know, I know... should have done my homework!).This time, after replacing the motherboard within two months of owning the new machine, the machine began to work fine, and washed great! Again, I thought I had just gotten a lemon with the previous machine. But, here we are 4 years into owning the new one, and it has completely quit working. Clothes smelled like mildew despite cleaning the machine as recommended. So, I called out a repairman, he said the transmission had gone out and it would be cheaper to just replace the machine. What?? I spent almost $700 on it only 4 years ago! When I told him this, his response was that he had seen repeated problems with this machine and felt like they were disposable washing machines that you had to figure would only last a few years before having to be replaced. Again, WHAT??I dont know about everyone else, but I dont have $700 to throw around every 3-4 years to replace new appliances because the manufacturers cant/wont make a better product. We had owned a Whirlpool dishwasher, and it had all kinds of problems too. So, once again, I contacted Whirlpool about the washing machine and got nowhere!!! SO disappointing!!! Absolutely the WORST customer service I have EVER seen!!! Well we had one and they never put him in the system. Finally got that taken care of, 6 months of having to press pause and restart 5 times just to do one load. Arrrrrggggghhhh! Now water leaking out the bottom. Called again, on hold, then on hold again to be transferred to tech support. Yeah, right. No tech support. Talked to management, they could care less about us even though we have other products from them. Dont buy, they are lemons. We had ropes for 15 years and lasted through everything. Thanks Whirlpool, heres to losing a customer!!!!

We did not purchase a warranty through them (BIG MISTAKE) because everything we heard about Whirlpool was positive, at least through friends and family. 1 year and 6 months later we have NO freezer and their warranty expires a year after purchase date! I called the company and they are no help at all! From all the comments I have read on here, there are few positive results! From now on I will be checking all reviews before I purchase a product again and WILL NEVER buy another whirlpool product again!

We purchased a Whirlpool Accubake Drop-in Stove (Model # RS675PXG015) on 10/21/2006 from Lowes Companies, which cost $1,100.00. In 11/2012, we had an error message E1-F2, and we tried everything to get it to clear - all suggestions given by electrical repairman who does repair for Lowes Cos. The stove is porcelain, which also has problems of staining that cant be cleaned. We were told the repair would cost $200 for the panel, and if that doesnt work, another $400 for the other panel. In reviewing other complaints for this Whirlpool stove, there are enough complaints to recall this item or at least give deep cuts for the parts to repair this stove. We have purchased other Whirlpool items, and this one is not well made and too costly to repair. It should last at least 15 years or more. Cant Whirlpool do something about this obvious problem?

Bought a Whirlpool Cabrio Washer Dryer combination on 4-5-2009, had it delivered on 4-20-2009, was very excited to get this set as it was like my first ever brand new washer dryer. I thought Id spend the money get something good and it would last for years and years. Was I ever wrong. I bought the set and the extended warranty from Lowes and my total with delivery was 2579.00. 20 days after the extended warranty expires (that I never used) the bearings on my Washer go bad. This thing in spin cycle sounds like a jet engine. I called to see if Lowes would still honor my warranty because I never used it and they said no. I called Whirlpool and checked to see if there was a recall and they said no. I checked to see if there is anything they could do at all because this is a huge known issue and of course they said no. (Just look on YouTube for Whirlpool bearing replacement and the amount of views should indicate the amount of troubled users.)Called a repair scheduled through Whirlpools website to come look at it for a 75 dollar assessment and they said it would be about 500-550 to replace the outer tub - largely due to the fact its labor intensive and the bearings are packed in the outer tub from the factory. I was like are you ** kidding me? I paid 1029 for the unit brand new in 2009 and 550 to fix? I said thank you to the repair guy and escorted him nicely out. Upon that I called back Whirlpool to tell them how displeased I am and how I will not be another product of theirs ever and mostly due to the fact they know this is a huge issue and wont do anything about it. I will be going to Lowes to see if the guy who sold me this pile of crap will work me a deal on another unit or set of another brand after I show him my receipt and express my displeasure with that product. If they wont do anything I will go to another store and spend my money elsewhere - I have choices and others do too. So if you are thinking about buying anything in the Cabrio line, dont. Go Samsung or LG - 10 year warranty straight from the manufacturer and costs 200-300 less than I paid for my washer dryer 5 years ago. The bearings are ** and shouldve lasted a lot longer for the amount I used this machine and for what I paid! Shame on you Whirlpool for using crappy parts to make your machines.
