We just recently remodelled our kitchen and decided to buy a Whirlpool Range. Big mistake. First off, the range was advertised as a built in but it ended up looking like a slide in. We were disappointed but decided it was ok as long as the range performed fine. However, within 6 months of buying it, the oven fan broke and the oven became unusable. I used it only 2 - 3 times before it gave up. Extremely disappointed. Our old oven was sturdier and lasted many years and was in a very good condition when we gave it away. Extremely disappointed since we paid a lot for it.

Model WTW7600XOW, installed 12/9/2010. For about 4 months this washer has sounded like a jet plane when spinning. I called Whirlpool to see if it was recalled or what they recommended. They provided 2 repair places near me. The repair shops recommended buying a new washer since the repair is so costly. A 4 year old washer used by 2 people should have bearings that last more than 4 years.

I have been blessed with my washing machine. I have never had one problem with it. I have had my machine for over three years now. It is a reliable machine, with five different water levels from small to super. It also has three different water temperatures (just great). I am very pleased with my washing machine. I cannot tell you how many machines we looked at before selecting our Whirlpool, thank goodness we did.

Whirlpool Cabrio HE washing machine - I was very excited when buying this product. It never really washed clothes thoroughly. I kept getting strange stains on them and even after emptying it as soon as it finally was able to finish a load without saying UL constantly... the clothes would stink. Im sick I ever bought it! Plus, it rusts terrible.

We purchased the Top Loader Cabrio in 2006 for $1100. About 1 yr. later it just stopped, but was covered under a recall. A year later it stopped working again and cost $400 plus we bought a 3 yr. service contract for $350. A few months after the service contract ended, the spin cycle got very loud and it started leaking grease and water. It now need a ball bearing and $600 of work. So now we spent almost $2000 for this washer in 8 yrs. Our Maytag was $400 and lasted 15 yrs and we gave it to someone else who is still using it and we never had it repaired. It sounds like Cabrio customers have been complaining about the same issues for several years but they keep recurring and Whirlpool is doing nothing to correct them. We are not putting more money into it after reading all the complaints. We are buying another washer and another reliable brand. I would have been a customer for life because I did like the way it worked and cleaned, although I hear so many people had problems with that so I am not waiting for that to fail too. And I recommended the Cabrio to several people who bought them and now I hear they are starting to have problems. You should stand behind your product and correct these problems and recall or fix them at a reasonable cost.

Whirlpool gas range Model WFG5245LAB2 has serious flaws that are a danger. I noticed the handles to turn on the burners seem sloppy. So sloppy in fact that just brushing up against the knobs will turn the gas on. This happened when I had someone visiting and we returned you could smell gas in the house. We were none the worse since we were out however my 3 cats were in the house the entire time. Tonight I removed the large grates that go over the burners to clean the porcelain. Once again I brushed up against the handle and the back burner ignited causing me to burn my hand. This stove is a danger to all.

I would like to share whirlpools lack of ownership for parts they knew were faulty that caused significant damage to my floor. Its absolutely horrendous that one would purchase the highest end dishwasher they offer (all highest end appliances in 3 homes so far) and the company is only willing to cover the replacement of the part. Its a horrible way to run a company. I hope that my review will warn prospective customers to stay away from a company who is only willing to take your cash at purchase (charging an arm and a leg no less) and not care about any repercussions after the fact. I hope they enjoy our 15k, because it will be the last penny they get from us.

We purchased this washer (Whirlpool Cambrio #WTW8000BWO) in December of 2014. It is now 3 1/2 years old and while the washer worked great til just recently, we now have to purchase a different one because this one will cost too much to repair. We did not get the extended warranty. I have since read that the Cambrio has had a lot of problems. Always check the long term owners and what they have to say about the item, would never have purchased this washer had I known what the problems were and that they even were having them they should have taken it off the market til they got the situation fixed.

I had an upscale Frigidaire suite of kitchen appliances and I loved them. A few years later I moved and needed a new set. I thought Whirlpool was about the same and I bought a Whirlpool set. The stove wont boil water or even fry an egg. It heats up and cuts off continuously. I called a service rep out and he called the engineer who told him it is designed like that and I need to use hot water on the stove to boil it. I was shocked at his ignorance and insulted by his stupidity. Ive been cooking for 60+ years and everyone who cooks knows you use cold water to boil water. But really, the stove does not cook anything. When frying eggs the burners cut off every few seconds to the point you cannot cook anything with it and the engineer said thats the way they designed it. DONT BUY WHIRLPOOL. THEY WONT EVEN BOIL WATER. HORRIBLE STOVE AND ONCE YOU HAVE IT YOU ARE STUCK WITH IT.

A whirlpool water heater model FG1F5040T3 purchased from Lowes five years ago developed problems, which could not be fixed. My problems started two weeks ago when the pilot light would not stay lit eight hours at a time and then nothing. Having a service plan through our utilities, they were notified not once but as it stands now, 6 times. Six techs have been out to my house and replaced the thermocouple twice and a complete gas control valve. The pilot still will not stay lit. Supervisor contacted Whirlpool on Thursday. Now its Saturday and no word from Whirlpool and no hot water. Try to get assistance from Whirlpool after work hours and it is impossible. This tells me that they do not care about their customer or the product that they make. Do not buy Whirlpool products!

I bought the stackable Whirlpool Duet. Piece of garbage (model # WFW9150WW). From day one the washer never worked. Error lights/bells kept going on before the second spin cycle. First repair guy couldnt figure it out. And the manual says just unplug and plug the power cable back in. Sure--every time I use it? I called Whirlpool service and they said a new control board was needed without even seeing the machine, which tells me this is a manufacturing flaw. I waited 2 months for the board. When it came, the repair guy put it in and then the machine would not stop filling. So another switch and hose are being ordered. Whirlpool customer service is completely useless. And no one will even discuss replacement. Now Im stuck. $700 out on the first machine and $200 on the extended warranty, which will be useless because Im going to dump the machine. And additional $800 on another new machine which probably wont work either. Oh, yeah, and you have to use special soap, which Ive tried, and got down to using only 1/2 a teaspoon because the suds never cleared. Please tell all your customers never to buy Whirlpool!

I am following up on a review I submitted on April 22, 2015 about a Whirlpool refrigerator with french doors and bottom refrigerator. At the time, paint was falling off from the door as pictured in the previous review. This another chapter on this story and probably the closing chapter. A few months after the paint event which I could have lived for a while, the right door hinge literally disintegrated leaving the door without support. The door seals material is of such poor quality that they have disintegrated and the water condenses inside. The bottom photo shows hinge components that came off the door hinge on the kitchen floor. The second photo from the bottom up photo shows how the door scraped the plastic of the freezer door top trim if the door is not lifted to clear it. The second photo from top to bottom shows the door over the hinge pin if I am not careful lifting the door to clear the freezer door. The first photo from top to bottom shows how the door remains open if not lifted so that the door magnetic seal keeps it in place. It is very hard for me to believe that a country like the United States of America treats its customers with no respect. I met my obligation to pay the amount on the price tag of this appliance but I cannot say that Whirlpool did its part of providing a basic quality product. There is no consumer protection agency in this country to protect consumers from corporate predators that have no sense of a fair deal with a customer. So here we are, being abused by United Corporations of America. I hope the future brings a different understanding of the american people on these matters. Thank you for the opportunity to express myself on this matter. Next step... buy a foreign made appliance that will support another country work force... sounds familiar.

We bought this washer from Sears with big hope. Within the first year, we had 14 service call covered by the warranty but required 2 to 3 weeks in doing without. Whirlpool replaced the washer at no charge but continued to have various issues over the years. The new one is the control module that Whirlpool knew was faulty but did not let their customers know. The control module went over the weekend but I repaired it myself and do not have any more issues. I literally went in and tightened all of the hardware, removed and install the pulleys, motors pumps and replaced a lot of keep components with better quality. Guess that year the CEO made only 20 million rather than 19 million. Being an American company I was disappointed by the consumer relations people but everything is a throw away nowadays. Will not buy a Maytag or Whirlpool product again. Where has American product pride gone?

If you have the double oven below with bad board, start shopping for a new oven, but the part is no longer made. How can you end of the life a product after only 6 years? This is about the RBD305PDS12 double oven! I have wasted 3.5 days with Whirlpool/Maytag. Its very Frustrating how each department passes you along and makes promises about what the other department can do, resulting in zero satisfaction. None of them are well informed to say the least.I have a 6-year-old double oven that has a bad board and after 3 days, I find out it is no longer made. I paid $1500.00 six plus years ago and now I get to spend $2000 plus to get a new one. Again, how can you end of life a product after only 6 years?

Whirlpool convection/microwave GMH6185XVS - In 2011, we purchased a whole new kitchen for our home with the top of the line Whirlpool products. The sorry side of this project was our microwave. This product has been terrible for us! It has been removed from our wall 4 times for failing... and four times we have gone for weeks at a time with a big hole in our kitchen wall!! All of the failures were due to the microwave not heating food or drink, and all, according to our local dealership, were for various different reasons. Again, it has failed and our local appliance center who we bought everything from does not want to deal with it anymore. I dont blame them... I dont either!! It looks beautiful up there above our range telling me the time of day... My wife and I are older adults and take very good care of everything we own. There certainly has never been any abuse to this product (not to mention we spend half our year at a winter home so this microwave only is used for 6 months a year). I contacted Whirlpool customer service about the reliability of this product and their response was that it is now not under warranty and we should deal with our local store about repairs. I have a small Sharp microwave sitting on the counter below this crappy excuse for one that stays there all the time in anticipation on the Whirlpool going down!!! The $60.00 Sharp never fails me!! This was our 2nd time around purchasing all Whirlpool products for our house. We did the same thing when we built back in 1990. All appliances performed as they should have back then. It seems Whirlpool integrity has gone downhill. I will never buy another Whirlpool product nor I will recommend to anyone I know to do the same. Good luck to anyone who purchased one of these.

Two years ago, we purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio Washing Machine from Sears. All of a sudden, it was making sounds in the spin cycle that sounded like a jet airplane taking off. It was terribly loud. We called repair technician, which cost $90, only to find out that the bearing is gone and its going to cost over $500 to fix it. This is absolutely ridiculous! We expected it to last several years, only to find out that we would have to spend almost as much as the washer originally cost in order to fix it. We paid $700 for this machine, two years ago, and I can say that Ive never been more disappointed with a product in my life. My previous washer lasted thirteen years, not to mention my dryer and stove fifteen years, with minimal repairs. I will never buy another Whirlpool appliance again. I have read some other complaints on this consumer affairs website, as well as other sites, regarding this same washer with the same problem on the bearing and cost to repair. If anything, I think Whirlpool should make good on this product and offer something regarding a recall or payment for repair in some form. As far as Im concerned, I will alert everyone I know about Whirlpool appliances and advise them not to purchase it. Now, I either have to pay over $500 to repair my washer or go buy another one. I do not even want this Whirlpool appliance in my house when I can get a washer for cheaper than the cost to repair it.

We purchased an Estate Washer for my 89-year-old mother in 2008. The paint has been peeling down to bare metal on the left top quarter from the corner down to the lid hinge for the past 2 years. I contacted customer service and was given probable causes, one of which was the washer might have gotten dusty! He said that could cause chipping. I reminded him the problem is peeling chunks, no chips, layers of paint. The warranty expired of course. The solution he offered was for me to buy paint from Whirlpool or Lowe’s, and paint it. I have had a Kenmore washer for 24 years. The paint is perfect, and it still runs great. I would never buy another Whirlpool product. The quality is atrocious.

I want to make this clear I’d give NO stars if I could!! Whirlpool is totally junk!! I bought a whole suite of Whirlpool kitchen appliances from Home Depot that is a dishwasher, stove, and fridge. The dishwasher never cleaned the dishes, always left a film on everything, cant clean out the drain area, the screens don’t come off and less a year later the dishwasher top rack literally fell off and broke all the glasses that were loaded in it and the fridge keeps freezing all my food!!! I keep having to adjust the thermostat up down up down just to make it doesn’t freeze. Now that the warranty is no good on any of the crap I will no doubt be charged an arm and a leg to get it fixed, which definitely won’t be worth it!!! Whirlpool is such crap!!! Made in America no wonder!!! Don’t buy any whirlpool anything!!! You will be very VERY disappointed!!! I’ve bought plenty of brand new appliances. Bosch is by far the best dishwasher even the cheaper ones. Now I have to pay to dispose the whirlpool crap!!! I am sure whirlpool doesn’t give a crap though!!! My model - GB9FHDXWD06 - is one of only a very few that fits our space. However, it has failed three times in 5 years: 1) A faulty defrost drain tube that was replaced under warranty, 2) A jammed vent flap that caused the freezer to fail, and 3) a burned-out control panel (an expensive repair). It is also annoyingly noisy and middling at energy efficiency. The coils are in a very narrow space below the refrigerator, which makes them a bear to clean. And, the plastic front plate that must be removed for cleaning breaks far too easily. On the good side, it is a bottom freezer model (which is far better for convenience), the space-wasting ice maker was very easy to remove, the glass shelves, removable baskets, and drawers are easy to clean, and the auto-defrost works very well (after the recall update, number one, above). Temperature uniformity is good and the freezer maintains below 0° very well. Overall, it is a good looking appliance with mediocre efficiency and poor reliability. Not recommended.

That one had the new electronic panel in front, it lasted 6 years then we had all kinds of problems and finally replaced it with a Bosch, also with a electronic control panel. We have had this one 4 years and it is not working at all. Wont start and keep a cycle on. Spent $500 on it and its a piece of crap. I bought a Whirlpool Dryer after reading an excellent review in Consumer Reports, despite it costing more than I wanted to spend. The first thing I noticed was a thump, thump, thump with every rotation of the drum. Then I realized that it took twice as long to dry my laundry as my 45 yr. old GE dryer, which only needed a belt, but which wasnt available anymore. I was disappointed in the Whirlpools performance, but that was only the beginning. One night when the dryer was less than 3 months old, I was in bed for the night and I heard the familiar thump of the dryer running. I went downstairs and could not stop it as it did not respond to anything on the digital control panel. I finally unplugged it. I called Whirlpool and they sent a new control panel, but I had to pay the service man.Not too long after that, the dryer heated up, but the drum would not turn. The serviceman said that it had come off track and he reset it. Shortly after, the door would not stay closed as the clamp that held it shut had fallen inside when I pushed the door closed. I replaced that. Then the drum continued to come disengaged because it was out-of-round. But, of course, the dryer was out of the 90 day warranty period too and a drum replacement would have cost more than the piece of junk was worth. So, I had it put back on for what I told myself would be the last time. Well, it was the last because the control panel went bonkers again and would go on by itself and only ran on one cycle if I plugged it in and unplugged it when it was done. I finally gave up and bought an inexpensive analog GE dryer which I never had any trouble with and dried the clothes in less time with less noise.

My Whirlpool Cabrio WTW7800 was bought 1 and 1/2 years ago. The lid is glass with a plastic edge. The plastic part of the lid next to the glass and hinge is cracking causing the glass to stick up. It is cracked from the top of the lid toward the base if the lid were closed. The only way this could happen if it werent a manufacturer defect would be if someone were to get inside of the washer with the lid locked and try to push up to get out right at the hinges. I have noticed several other complaints of the same problem on this website with the same model. Clearly this is a manufacturer defect. I am on the phone with Whirlpool now.

We purchased a Whirlpool Countertop Microwave (model MT4155) at HHGregg on 6/02/2012. (This was a replacement for another oven that failed after a couple of years - NOT a Whirlpool.) On 6/04/2013, i.e., 2 days past the standard 1 yr warranty expiration, the oven went nuts. I was cooking a plateful of baked potatoes on the auto setting. When the potatoes were done, I opened the door to take them out and the oven started to run! WITH the door open! When I shut the door, it stopped. So the only way to get the oven to operate was to OPEN the door. I dont think this is a safe or effective practice. Knowing it was two days past the warranty, I called customer service anyway just to see what they would say. To my surprise, they (I talked to two different people) were VERY pleasant and accommodating, and offered to cover the cost of repairs and even set up an appointment for the authorized repair person, and then called to verify the appt. as well. Great! I was impressed! The repairman showed up as scheduled and seemed puzzled at first, but he dismantled the outside cabinet and determined the fault was in the door switch. He wasnt sure he had a replacement with him, but he did find one, put the new part in the oven, and re-assembled everything. We made sure it worked and he then left. Fast forward 5.5 months, when again I was cooking potatoes (boiled this time. Maybe the oven doesnt like potatoes!). I had the timer set for 20 minutes on 100%. I was out of the room when it quit cooking, but I think it ran for about 6 minutes and then just shut off and could not be persuaded to restart. The clock continued to count down, and all the other bells and whistles still functioned - it just wouldnt cook. Major hassle. The following day, I was looking at it, messing around to see if I could figure out what was wrong, and discovered that if I pushed on the door latch just a little, the oven would run. Well, thats a nifty workaround, as long as you arent doing any more than briefly reheating something, but not so great if you are actually trying to cook something. I continued to do this for the next few days and then suddenly one night it reverted to the first bad behavior - only running when the door was open. I was able to get that to stop, but the following day, it refused to work at all and it is now sitting here uselessly, just a little over 1.5 years old. I want to go buy another oven (and YES - a different brand!) - my SO wants to repair this one, again. After reading the experiences of others on this site, I REALLY cant see the point in repairing esp not if I have to pay this time (which I probably will), and also when it seems to be a faulty part/design causing this problem. I dont have the time or patience to deal with an unreliable appliance, esp one that I use often. I have not tried to call customer service yet, but Im not expecting great things, not this time. Planned obsolescence? Sure makes me wonder.

I purchased a washer and dryer stackable about 6 months ago. It is suppose to have warranty but when calling the first time to Whirlpool their system was down and the girl was rude and hung up. Today I called and the only time they can offer is work days Monday-Friday 8-5. However, I live in Texas and work an hour and half away from where I live. I have just been transferred here so limited people known. So in order to get my dryer not even 6 months old fixed I have to accommodate the hours available and miss work. The dryer just stopped heating and stuck on the sensing wet cycle. I am a single parent of a disabled son, so with this said a days work is bills not getting paid. I find this unacceptable for a company as well known and one of the best not able to accommodate someones work hours for pretty much a lemon. It was a brand new dryer and washer.

We purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer less than 2 years ago. These are supposed to be high efficiency appliances, but the washer has never cleaned the clothes well and the dryer often has to be run more than once in order to get the clothes dry. Then, about two weeks ago, the washer started making such a loud noise on the spin cycle that it sounded like a jet plane taking off. It was hard to hear the television when it was running. Today, it started screeching and water leaked on the floor. I called the number listed on my manual and was basically told that it would cost half of what we had paid for the machine to fix it. What efficiency, a poor machine that lasts less than two years. We will never buy Whirlpool appliances again.

I have had a terrible experience with fridge Whirlpool. Two fridges have been delivered to me in bad condition. The first one was aesthetically awful (looked old and used) and the freezer didnt work so it was exchanged. The second one works and it looks ok but it makes very loud noises all day every day. I live in an open concept condo and this fridge sounds like a train for more than an hour more than 5 times a day, it is terrible. I have been calling customer support for a solution and first of all, there are no technicians in my area, and since the fridge works as designed there is nothing to fix so Im stuck with a terrible noisy fridge that I hate and destroys my day which I paid a lot of money for thinking that the brand meant quality but it doesnt. Customer support doesnt respect the customer and their answer that the first works as designed makes me understand that Whirpool designs bad quality fridges. I have never heard a fridge making these noises, not even brands that are less named than Whirlpool. For your inner peace, I recommend you to stay away from Whirlpool-Maytag fridges... If the fridge is in bad condition (but working) youre going to be stuck with it. The brand doesnt really mean quality and support... it just means more expensive.

I bought it 3yrs ago, and it give us headache, only two weeks used and it stops working. We call their service center and have them check, findings is the motor not working and have to replace, we are asking them to replace it with new washing machine, but they only replace the motor, what we cannot accept is that they replace it with a surplus motor. Only two weeks used and they replace only surplus parts!!! Damn. What a bad experience... (The motor they put is noisy too)! After a year the spring hinge collapse and have to fix it again. And now my washing machine is like a helicopter when spinning, shaking and moving around our laundry area... I dont want to buy Whirlpool anymore.

Everytime I wash the basket always spins wobbly and unbalanced it seems. I checked the Internet and it turns out others have had the same problem. The solution was to replaced the 4 springs supporting basket and that fixed the problem. Been working ever since.

Worst purchase I have ever made. When I purchased this Cabrio washer in 2015, I didnt find bad reviews but how I wish I had. This washer does not clean clothes well. It has caused holes in clothing and towels. Often all the load wont even be damp even if using the deep water feature. The wash loads rarely fill more than couple of inches. Clothes come out twisted and terribly wrinkled. Sheets and blankets will be half dry and unclean. TERRIBLE APPLIANCE. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. Now I am stuck with a high priced washer I wouldnt even feel good about giving away. WONT FILL. RUINS CLOTHES. TANGLES LOADS. DOESNT CLEAN. DOESNT RINSE PROPERLY. DO NOT BUY!

In Dec 2016, just two and half years after the motherboard was replaced, the exact same problem re-occurred. Again I tried to get a refund on the cost of the part and labour but both were refused. My new fridge is leaking large amounts of water on the floor, but it is not from the ice maker, as it is not hooked up. I have a Whirlpool refrigerator, model number GB2FHDXWS04, purchased in August of 2010. It was with good faith that I chose what I thought was a high-quality product, as well as, it was chosen because it was made in the USA and would be supporting US families, not China.Within one year, just as soon as the one-year warranty expired it began leaking water daily, all over my wooden kitchen floor, causing the floor boards to begin buckling. It is not from the ice maker, as it is not hooked up. Not only is my floor being ruined, but my one-year old refrigerator is not working up to standards, for which I chose the Whirlpool brand. My refrigerator has been maintained and operated by all instructions provided for this product.I assume that this company no longer wants to be in good standing with its customers, and refuses to make good on a major problem, for which a large amount of money was spent on a high quality serviceable item, by paying for the repair or replacement of obviously defective parts, or by the replacement of the entire refrigerator.

It is so loud you can hear it when you are in another room. The temperature on the refrigerator is too cold and freezes fruit when I put it in. I contact Whirlpool online and they said it seems fine to them and also there is no temperature control that I can change myself. I am afraid I am going to come home one day to a dead refrigerator and spoiled food. I was not happy with their response and I WOULD NOT PURCHASE this again. I purchased a brand new refrigerator model # WRX735SDBM00 Ser # K51621170 on 30 June at Lowes. Paid about 1600.00. Within 5 days the ice maker was no longer functioning. I called the service department and a lengthy ordeal commenced of trying to repair. It is now 13 August 2015 and I have had over 10 visits from a technician and I still have no ice. I made a terrible mistake in not returning the appliance to the store within 30 days so now it has to go through the process which means that now I have to continue to wait until the technicians deem that this appliance is not repairable anymore before I can attempt to get a replacement. In the meantime, we have been inconvenienced, aggravated not to mention not be provided a product that works with no future date where I can get this appliance repaired. The local store management have been great to deal with and are trying but their hands are tied until the manufacturer determines they cant fix. In the meantime, the consumer is continuing to wait for the repair/replacement. No one seems to care or has there been any discussion of some compensation (not necessarily money) for the aggravation and inconvenience I have endured. Something is just not right. Suffice to say, never again will I buy a Whirlpool. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE.

I purchased a Whirlpool Duet washer from a local appliance store in May 2009. I also purchased a 60-month extended warranty covering the washer until May 2015. I was shocked when I tried to use the washer today (May 16, 2012) and it would not turn on. I called the repair facility the appliance store supplied as the warranty repair facility, only to be shocked again. I was told the appliance store suddenly went out of business and my ($130) extended warranty was no longer in effect and I would have to pay for repair out of my pocket. I then called Whirlpool knowing they would stand behind their faulty $740, 3-year old washer. They told me there was nothing they could do because the one year warranty they offered was over. I had a repair person look at the washer and he told me a control board had to be replaced and the repair would cost at least $550. I told him I was just going to buy a new washer. I had not been happy with the washer from day one and was very sorry I had purchased it. It did not wash the clothes very well. Also, I had a musty/moldy smell in my basement that would not go away no matter how much I cleaned. The repairman told me today that the smell is coming from the washer. I just cant believe I am out almost $1,000 and there is nothing I can do about it. After reading the many reviews on this website about Whirlpool appliances, I am sure they will not be in business much longer. They should be ashamed of themselves for what they are doing to consumers like myself especially in todays economy. Is there anything that can be done about this?

In the past 8 years, I have had to replace 2 Whirlpool Calypso washing machines and 1 Cabrio washing machine. All 3 washing machines worked great for the first 2 years. I purchased the Whirlpool extended warranty on all 3 washers. The first Calypso had 12 repairs done on it. Finally A&E repair service deemed the washer not repairable. Whirlpool replaced the Calypso with a new Calypso. Based on the problems with the first one, I again, purchased the extended warranty. Again, after the manufacturers warranty expired, I again had issues. After numerous repairs, A&E deemed the washer unrepairable. I contacted Whirpool warranty service and was told that they would reimburse me 75% of the cost of their choice of a Whirlpool washer! Since I have had 10 hand surgeries, I need a washer that does not have an agitator (hence the original Calypso purchase). The model that Whirpool warranty deemed as a replacement had an agitator and was also a much lower energy efficiency rating. I found that the Cabrio was a comparable replacement model and finally Whirlpool agreed to replace the washer at 75%. I was angry that they didnt cover the total replacement, but felt at least I got a totally new problem-free washer. I again purchased the extended warranty. I got the Cabrio in March of 2008. In April of 2011, the washer started getting rust around the bleach dispenser and also I would get UL code (Uneven Load). A&E tech came out and replaced a bearing. He said that the rust was not covered under the warranty. I asked how it was okay to have rust around the bleach dispenser if the washing machine is always wet with water. A month later, I was still having a UL code and the rust was getting worse. A&E came out again and said that even though I saw rust around the bleach dispenser, the rust was in fact underneath the tub and had eaten away at the parts. He called the warranty company to authorize repairs and the Whirlpool warranty company denied any more repairs on the washing machine.

The washer is extremely noisy, to begin with, and I complained to hhgregg about this. They delivered a couple of other machines, all of which were very noisy. The latest problem with this machine has been with the tearing my clothes. My clothing gets caught under the agitator and the items tear. This is a poorly designed washer and I wish I had never purchased it. I was thinking and wrongly so, that the washer would be as good as my previous washers. My husband and I have spent nearly 20 hours on the phone with the WP customer service girls and replaced nearly every part but the tank it self. We have not had hot water for over a week and are at wits end! My husband finally got them to authorize us to get a new water heater from Lowes after they told him there was nothing else they could do to help us. Ive read pages and pages of complaints from other people having this same problem. Why do they put you through all the torture if they know its not going to work? Its very frustrating! My new Whirlpool refrigerator has accumulated ice on the top of the freezer
My new Whirlpool refrigerator has accumulated ice on the top of the freezer compartment from day 1. I called Whirlpool and a repair was scheduled five weeks later September 12. The repair person said he needed a part and would order a new light switch and ice door parts from Whirlpool. Ten days later he came back with a new switch and instructions to file some plastic off the ice door part so it will close properly. It only partially worked; ice stopped forming in the ice chute but still formed on the top around the light switch. The new switch is not flush with the liner and the plastic liner has a small crack starting at the switch. How Whirlpool wants to cut out a six inch square of the liner including the switch and glue in a patch. This patch would only be warrantied for the balance of my one year warranty. I find this unacceptable and will complain to the store where I purchased the refrigerator.

We bought our stainless and black Whirlpool stove last month. We love that its black topped, and doesnt show dirt. We love how the oven door seals, and the fast heat. What we do NOT love, is how easily the knobs turn. You barely brush against them, and gas leaking into the kitchen. I called for service. Our guy said yes, they turn easier than most of the stoves he has worked on. He called tech support from my kitchen, and I overheard the guy at the other end. His response was dismissive. I have had gas ovens for 20 years. They have without exception, had a spring type feeling to the knob. This stove has none. I am writing this so that if others are experiencing the same thing, they will see it is not their imagination. Something is wrong with the design of the knobs or some part is missing.

Please see pictures attached. The whole control panel melted. This makes the oven unusable and extremely dangerous. I will need to replace the whole control panel. I followed the instructions completely in the manual provided for the cleaning cycle. It says in the manual to only clean the over this way as using easy off or any other cleaner will damage the inner surfaces.Whirlpool claims they have no knowledge of this problem but there are numerous complaints on their site about it as well as other internet sites complaining about the melting of the control panel. I need to know how to fix this problem and dont believe I should have to pay for something that is obviously a flaw in the materials used. It is extremely dangerous. Since these pieces of Whirlpool equipment were installed by the broker that originally purchased the home, I have no record of purchase. I can try and contact him and see if he has anything but kind of doubt he has receipts now.

We bought a 20.5 cubic ft Whirlpool refrigerator. 2 months later it started cutting off, and on in a constant repeated cycle then run normal for a while. We had 2 Whirlpool repair appointments. The first guy said he couldnt come fix it unless it was acting up while he was here which was a intermittent issue. Refrigerators dont perform on cue. The 2nd guy came out after the first guy messed around long enough for the warranty to expire. We went ahead, and replaced the startup relay (most common problem). He replaced the control board, and wire harness. He said if that didnt fix it he didnt know what else to do. 2 hours after he left the fridge was right back to doing the same thing. He failed to report back to Whirlpool that the fridge couldnt be repaired. We contacted customer service, and their resolution was to get another repairman to come out, and replace the control board which had already been replaced. In the end they bailed on us, and left us stuck with a broke refrigerator, and we had to buy a new one ourselves. I might add it was not a Whirlpool. They spent $471 trying to fix a broken fridge, and wanted to send another repairman (another $100) to fix a $629 refrigerator how does that make any sense. Whirlpool Washing Machine Model WTW4950XW0 - This washing machine was purchased as a gift by my father. We have owned this machine for about 2 years. I am very disappointed with the quality of this machine. I have 3 children and several pets. I use my machine a lot and need a quality item that will last. This machine is not that item. Within a few months, the machine was off balance and bolts had to be tightened. We have had problems with the belt, bolts coming loose and the machine not draining.More recently, the machine has become very loud... For approximately the last 6 months. My husband has taken the machine apart and looked for anything to be wrong with it and has found nothing. Now the machine is not running. I will turn it on and it fills with water and then stops. I will clear it out and restart it and it does the same thing. Another issue has been with spinning and draining. The clothes are soaking wet even after the drain/spin cycle.I have researched what could possibly be wrong with this machine and have found a vast number of items that could need replaced. With the money I have already put into fixing this machine in the past and the amount it will cost to fix it this time, I believe I will be further ahead if I buy a new machine made by a different company. I will not be buying a Whirlpool product again.

We purchased our unit (Microwave Hood Combination #WMH53520AH-1) in Fall of 2013 and within a year we noticed there were occasionally problems with the sensors; occasionally when you would open the door the lights would flicker and even rarer still, they wouldnt turn on at all. Id close and re-open the door several times to try to get it to register, because if it doesnt you are unable to heat anything in it. The sensor issue increased with the passage of time, but because it was outside of the 1 year warranty, Whirlpool refused to do anything about it, instead advising that I pay $70-140 for a service professional to come out and inspect it. The biggest problem with the sensor issue in this unit is that normally, if you open the door mid-heating cycle, the microwave will automatically turn off but once I opened the door AND IT CONTINUED TO EMIT MICROWAVES - the cycle stayed on!!!Needless to say, on the occasion that the microwave is actually working and we are heating something up in it, we NEVER open the door mid cycle and instead hit the cancel button, which blessedly works. You would think Whirlpool would care about their reputation for making high-quality electrical products. A flaw in the construction or design of a product can appear if quality of materials is poor and the problem can be exacerbated over time. Which is why I assume the warranty is only for one year. High Quality Products and Good Customer Service are such rare things these days. For our next microwave (which I imagine well need soon) I think well forego Whirlpool and go with a different company.

In 2013 my oven died. Upon doing some research my husband and I went to our local appliance stores in search of a new one for a good deal. We chose a Whirlpool electric range with convection oven. We have had it 2 1/2 yrs and have used it often... until today we had been very happy with it. While baking some French fries we heard a loud pop, almost like a shot, running to the kitchen to find the inside tempered glass shattered! Wow! Shocked to say the least we couldnt believe it. Called our Lowes store, to no avail our warranty had expired. They gave us Whirlpools number with no success. I am extremely disappointed and will probably never buy Whirlpool again!

Ive owned whirlpool appliances for forty years or more, and have been consistently pleased with them. My first washer and dryer lasted eighteen years while raising a family. Brand X lasted eight years with at least four repairs before we dumped the set. We moved and sold one set with the house, but my newest washer and dryer set is eleven years, and works fine. Ive had at least four ranges. We sold two of them with the houses, but theyve all been fine, just bought a snazzy new Whirlpool range as an upgrade. Im on my fourth Whirlpool refrigerator, but again we sold one with the house and we upgraded one perfectly good Whirlpool refrigerator to a bigger side by side with icemaker. Third whirlpool dishwasher. Weve moved a lot, leaving behind appliances and buying new ones. Sure, Whirlpool appliances break down, but they sell zillions of them, and you never hear about the zillions that never break down.

I bought a Whirlpool refrigerator model #wrt1litzyv along with the extended warranty from Lowes. The compressor stopped working just before the warranty was to expire and had to be replaced. The cost of repairs almost equaled the price of the refrigerator and took nearly 2 months for the reimbursement check to arrive. I had to call several times. They told me they hadnt received the paperwork even though I sent it registered mail and it was signed for and I had to resend it. Now, less than 4 months later, the refrigerator is again not working properly. Freezer is not freezing properly. Takes 2 days to freeze ice. This is the absolutely worst refrigerator Ive ever had. My last refrigerator lasted 20 years. This one is only 3 years old and of course, the warranty is now expired. I will never buy another Whirlpool product. And I will never buy a major appliance from Lowes either since they play games with the warranties. And after the refrigerator was repaired, Whirlpool tried to sell me another extended warranty. They wanted $308.60 for a 3-year warranty. Ridiculous that they dont stand behind their products. And try to sell more warranties instead of just manufacturing a good product.

Purchased Whirlpool side by side June 2010. Within a few months realized major problem with ice maker. Reservoir on door would leak and freeze inside the door. Service man out at least twice, advised to maintain service contract as would continue to have issues. It still leaks, freezes up and does not dispense properly. Now the inside liner of the refrigerator is cracking and neither the warranty company nor the WHIRLPOOL Manufacture Co. will stand by their product. It is my intent to warn as many people as possible, so they will not have the same bad experiences.

We have tried bleach everything. Our clothes smell. I have skin rashes and I think it is related to mold and mildew. Called the service center. They said could be a sock stuck around the tub area. They need to recall this washer. We spent a lot of money and it has ruined everything. Cannot get the odor out. We cannot afford another one. There is black mold around the rubber lining when you open up the door.

Whirlpool tells its technicians that the front molding piece on their dryers is a disposable part . Basically, it has to be removed to examine the console and removing it will break it 90% of the time. Therefore, the customer will have to replace a $100.00 part simply to diagnose any problems. I now have a dryer with no front panel simply because I wanted to know why a button was sticking.

Purchased my Whirlpool Duet front load washer WFW9150WW00 new in 2010. Also purchased extended warranty. After four years, just before my extended warranty was up, the entire inside needed replacing (drums, bearings). Now at only five years old, it keeps making a beeping noise in middle of wash cycle and wont continue working. Serviceman was told by a Whirlpool tech. that it could be two things, one being the door jamb, the other being the control panel. Door jamb was fine. Ordered new control panel ($240), had it installed and yet the washing machine still keeps beeping and doing the same thing. The serviceman doesnt know what else it could be. So, I am forced to return the part and purchase a new washing machine. I would never recommend Whirlpool to anyone!

The little plastic tabs for the ice dispenser broke. It is absolute garbage. The one we bought in 2003 was great clearly the company has NO integrity or desire to make a decent product. Whirlpool Washing Machine WTW4800XQ4 - This is an expensive piece of garbage. My clothes come out with lint still on them. They do not smell clean and in fact, I wonder if they even are. My blankets come out heavy and soaking wet, so much so that I have to repeat a rinse and drain cycle before I can place into the dryer. The machine is always off balance and its so loud that my almost deaf grandmother who cant hear a thing wants to know what that noise is when shes halfway across the house each time Im doing laundry. Ive called Whirlpool and they have sent a tech out who insisted it was I who did not know how to load a washer and that was causing all of the problems. I found this interesting since I am 37 and never encountered difficulty with a washing machine before. Our visit concluded when he insisted it was user error and went on his way. The next day, the washer was not even cycling, and I phoned whirlpool back. This time, there was a computer problem and there was no arguing about it. The technician came back out reset the internal computer. The machine seemed to run more quietly for about a week, but went right back to its old loud self. The only improvement Ive noted since then is it does not move across the floor now while washing. I wish I never bought this thing and would certainly never recommend it.

We purchased Whirlpool Gold appliances because we thought that they had an excellent reputation? Wrong! Our Whirlpool refrigerator lining started cracking before the unit was 3 years old. Now its 7 years & cracks are so deep and there are so many of them, the refrigerator must be replaced. No help from Whirlpool when I called. Now remember, a refrigerator is supposed to last 14-17 years. 7 years is not acceptable! This is a known problem. If you Google refrigerator liner cracks Whirlpool youll see many of them. Unfortunately, Whirlpool will not accept responsibility for faulty design/manufacturing which leaves the consumer to be out of their hard-earned money. Before you ever buy a Whirlpool product, read the reviews and decide if Whirlpool not standing behind their products makes it worth it for you to buy them. I certainly dont recommend them! I also wish to tell you that a major crack was around the light housing and Whirlpool placed the light cover over it where it was concealed to the buyer. Youd never know it until the light cover would be removed for cleaning. Which wasnt easy to do since Whirlpool installed it with 2 sided sticky glue foam tape. Now thats really scum behavior!

Within the 1st year the Ice Maker broke & repairman said the ill design caused the wire to break. He had replaced numerous ones for the same reason. In the 2nd yr the freezer started frosting. Next thing the freezer quit. Next day refrig quit working. Called Whirlpool, said, So sorry. We will send you a $50.00 Visa gift card. That was to cover $200.00 of just bought groceries. Called repair guy & he diagnoses compressor was bad. (IN A LESS THAN 2 YR OLD REFRIG. THAT COST $2300.00????)Now, we are 28 day w/o refrig. Living with a Igloo cooler. Whirlpool says they have no stock left on compressors for our refrig. (probably because there are so many going bad in their refrigerators). They are trying to locate one somewhere in US so that takes 6 days then they have to ship to repair center then they have to schedule us for repair which will probably be another 7 days. We bought a Gold Series dishwasher on 2/12/2013. It stopped working properly and we had a service call on August 6, 2013. Since then, we have had 3 companies come out 5 different times to try to fix the machine. Nothing on the top rack gets clean. In fact ,they come out dirtier than when they go in. The last service call was on October 7, 2013. I was told by a Whirlpool representative that the repairman would call technical services and that if the problem was not solved, that the machine would be deemed unrepairable and that Whirlpool would replace the machine since it was within the warranty. I was also told that their standard is that if a machine has to have 3 service repairs to be deemed unrepairable. So 7 days after the last repair, the machine was still not washing correctly. Once again everything on the top rack was dirty. The machine has had the motor, the pump, and the hoses replaced. Still doesnt work. So I called again to get the ball rolling on replacing the machine and was told that they would not replace the machine and that I needed to have another repairman come out and sit in front of the machine and call technical service. Apparently, the previous repairman didnt follow their instructions. I called and complained twice, I guess Whirlpool thinks that as consumers we have the ability to change work schedules, school schedules, take vacation time, etc. to wait around for the 6th service call, and wait through the 5-hour window that we are given for the repairman to get there. Well we dont. Obviously I have given Whirlpool plenty of opportunities to fix this problem. They havent been able to do so with 3 different companies. There comes a time when you just stop kicking the dead horse. Now is that time. If they cant figure out whats wrong the first time, and not the second time, and not the third time, why do they think the 6th time is the charm? Because I got so upset with them, they referred me to a customer care manager. She called and left me a message, and I have been calling her now for 2 days with no success on her DIRECT line nonetheless. My phone calls are not returned. I wont even go into how many customer service reps told me a different story every time I called. Whirlpools customer service doesnt care about their consumers. They dont care about our complaints. Now I have a $600 piece of junk. I will never buy another Whirlpool product. I will make sure that every person I know that is looking at appliances knows about what a horrible company Whirlpool is. They just put crap in a shiny package!

We bought the Gold Series Whirlpool fridge (Model WRF990SLAM00) in December
We bought the Gold Series Whirlpool fridge (Model WRF990SLAM00) in December 2013. A few months after its first repair, (dripping on the top left inside of the fridge), which happened within the first year and was covered by the manufacturer’s warranty, it started to make an incredibly loud whirring sound that kept us up at night. Our bedroom is upstairs and far away from our kitchen, and I had to sleep with earplugs to not hear the noise. We tested the noise on a decibel app and it came in between 66-70. A normal fridge noise level should be around 52 decibels. We had a repairman come out and he replaced a fan even though he told me it wasnt going to fix the problem. Wait, what? After he replaced the fan and the whir continued, we called Lowes extended warranty again, and they sent out a different company: 1-800-Appliance.The second guy replaced two kits and found some issue with the ice maker, which we were not even aware of, but the noise remained, and he then had the gall to say it was a normal noise. If it was normal, wouldnt it have been making that noise the first year we had it? We had 1-800-Appliance come out again and he determined he couldnt fix it, so Lowes sent another guy from the same company, and he replaced the same fan that the first guy replaced, which was clearly not the problem. Three perfectly good fans were wasted. BTW, the repairman who said the noise was normal told us that the fridge had a part that was made to be replaced after purchase because if Whirlpool had the part at the point of sale, the fridge would not meet the Energy Star standards. Hello, lawsuit! After three repairs for the same problem and five visits that did not fix the problem, we were told Lowes would issue us a return order in three days. Finally! Not so fast... one week later, no one called, so I called them and then Lowes denied having told us that! We gave them the name of the person who told us they would take the fridge back, but the woman on the other end said she had no record of that (how convenient) and, despite the California lemon law requiring only three attempts at a repair, they would require yet another attempt by one of their repairmen. She told me that if he determined the noise was abnormally loud and not repairable, then she could contact the manufacturer and go from there. So they sent a guy from the first company out and he wrote down that the fridge was not repairable and was very noisy. He said that should take the fridge back at that point. My husband called Lowes several days later after not being contacted by them and they told him that they need to send a different repairman out from 1-800-Appliance and that only 1-800-Appliance could determine if we could get a refund. If that was true, then why send the other company out? By the way, the second guy sent out by 1-800-Appliance wrote down that the noise was very loud and wasnt fixed by his repair. But the notes Lowes said they received from him didnt say that at all. They told me that he wrote that the noise level was normal. I am starting to think there is collusion between Lowes and 1-800-Appliance. Something very wrong here. So, six visits later and horrible customer service from both Lowes and 1-800-appliance, we are now being told that the repairs need to be 30 days apart from each other before they will issue a return. If the cause of the noise was never actually repaired, then why do we have to wait a month between repairs? We continue to jump through the hoops that Lowes keeps throwing our way, but it is now clear that they have no intention of taking the fridge back. The fridge is less than two years old, and we have the extended warranty. We couldnt take the noise any further because it felt like it was causing hearing loss and after several months of that horrible sound we were both on edge, so we bought an amazingly quiet fridge from Pacific Sales, and they assured us that they would not do to us what Lowes did. Pacific Sales pride themselves with having good customer service. Lowes seems to have taken delight in lying to us, selling us a lemon, and then not righting a wrong. We have moved the loud piece of ** into our garage, and if Lowes continues to change the rules of a return and act in collusion with 1-800-appliance, probably in hopes that we will simply throw in the towel, then at least we dont have to hear that horrible sound in the meantime. If they dont do the right thing and take back the fridge, then we will simply keep calling out a repairman to fix the problem. We have three more years of our warranty, and if Lowes doesnt do the right thing, we will make them pay for this one way or another. Viva la revolucion!!

I called Whirlpool warranty on 11/24/17 and requested a repair. A repairman came the following week two days late. He said he needed to order a part. After calling the “Whirlpool approved” repair shop multiple times over the next two weeks, I was told the part was backordered. Finally, yesterday, 12/13/17 the repairman showed up an hour later than appt. time. He took the oven door apart again and the new part didn’t fit my oven door. He had carelessly ordered the wrong part. I was told he’d put a rush on the correct part and that it would be here 12/18/17. I bought a Whirlpool Partner II 5 and a half years ago. It was always noisy and took very long to run a cycle. It started to malfunction after 2 years. We bought a new computer for it and a new control panel for the touch keys. It still kept not running a cycle fully. We found a YOUTUBE video that showed how to reset the model by pressing a combination of Normal and Heated Dry and that seemed to fix it for 2 years. It has stopped working again. Now it seems that the heating element is out. It doesnt clean at all, a scum film has covered the inside of the dishwasher and even mold spots are appearing. Ive had to wait extremely long times on hold to talk with an agent. My option is to hire a repair tech to come out and repair it and I pay for the parts. Seems like a bad deal since Ive already spent over a hundred on repairing it and a lot of hours. I will never buy a Whirlpool brand appliance again.
