In August 2011, I purchased and had installed a Whirlpool Wall Oven RBS305PVQ04 for $1000+. In July 2014, the oven failed with blown internal fuses and a thermostat $225+. In November 2014, the oven failed again, this time with a failed controller board. Whirlpool claims there are no replacement parts after just three years! In calling Whirlpool customer service for help, they basically said tough luck! NO parts, NO adjustments, NO service, you own a boat anchor. I tried to buy American; boy, was that a mistake. So it cost me $415 per year to own this LEMON. DO NOT DEAL WITH THE WHIRLPOOL COMPANY!

We purchased this microwave from Lowes. It already had a cracked handle but I wanted to change my appliances to Stainless and it was very cheap. I could just order a new handle and we would still be saving money. I received the new handle and it was very difficult to install, but I did it. Not even 2 months later, the same thing happened to this handle. We thought Lowes had somehow broken the original handle, but after reading all the other complaints, I realized that its a manufacturer problem. Last night, I was cooking on the stove and the plastic from the handle fell into the pot. I had to throw the whole pot of very expensive, and time consuming meal away for fear of eating the plastic.

Dont buy this washing machine. All of my clothes are dingy and gray. I paid $1,751.96 for this set. What a big waste of money. Sometimes the clothes come out with dry spots and then some come out with lint like they have gone through the dryer and yet they are coming out of the wash. Often they are in a very tight large ball in the center of the machine. I distribute evenly around the machine and I dont overload. The brilliant engineer that decided the machine did not need a soak cycle is a person that has never washed clothes. Wish I would have taken pictures of some of the soil still left on my clothes.

I purchased Whirlpool refrigerator WRF992FIFM00. On December 2016. It was cost $3400 but it stopped working after 6 months. I called Whirlpool for service. Technician came. Diagnosed it and he said he needs two parts but parts are not available. So he asked me call Whirlpool for help. I did call Whirlpool three times and the problem cant be solve. Whirlpool told me have to wait at least 10 days so they locate the parts so they can send out to Whirlpool contractor for repair. They dont have another solution rather than I have to wait until parts have available. I have to thrown all my food and I live without refrigerator. So what the point I need purchase extension warranty if they dont have parts to repair. I would not recommend anyone to purchase appliance from Whirlpool.

In 2013, my husband purchased a Whirlpool Hot Water Heater model #E2F40RD045V 40 gal. from Lowes in Vancouver, WA. On 12/12/15, had to call a plumber, the hot water heater was intermittent hot/cold. He flushed it, checked all power connections and changed the elements. On 3/18/16, NO hot water. Having a 6 year warranty, I called Whirlpool. They gave all kinds of excuses and told me to try a bunch of tests. By the time I got back to call them they were closed. I called them again on Monday 3/21/16 and said nothing worked and it had popped the breaker. They said change the elements. I told them I had just changed the elements 3 months before. I told them it was faulty wiring. They said the top element must be faulty. I gave up at that point and called the plumber. He came right out the next day. I had purchased a Rheem hot water heater to install and asked him to check the Whirlpool hot water heater elements he installed before he removed it. That is when it was discovered that under the insulation around the bottom element it was all scorched from FAULTY wiring. I called Whirlpool again and told them I could send them a picture and they said dont bother and immediately gave me an RA to return the hot water heater to Lowes. I told them I had already purchased another hot water heater and it was not a Whirlpool. I am going to request a refund.

I bought a Cabrio set in June 2007. Within two years, I had to have the barrings replaced ($800 job). Now, its two years later and Im getting a F50 code. Update on a report filed last 4/19/2012 regarding a Whirlpool side-by-side
Update on a report filed last 4/19/2012 regarding a Whirlpool side-by-side refrigerator. I originally described the issue as a fire in the relay/compressor which destroyed the compressor and relay. I eventually called Whirlpool and they agreed to send out a technician to perform a repair free of charge. The Whirlpool authorized repair person replaced the compressor and relay, recharged the system and all is working as it should be. Whirlpool covered the repair even though the refrigerator was manufactured in 2003 and I purchased it in 2004.

This company should be avoided at all costs. If you work for this disgusting company DONT!! You will be out of work soon! It is unbelievable how bad they are at responding to their (now ex) customers. What the hell are we in the EU for when a supposed UK co is Italian and they never respond (AKA 1940). Ludicrous! Incompetent! Stupid! Totally without comprehension. Do NOT buy ANY INDESIT or HOTPOINT products EVER!!! They are dangerous and you will NOT get any help to put them right.

I am very upset. I bought a Whirlpool range (model YGFE461LVS) 2 and a half years ago and today when I tried to bake a cake, the oven overheated (as if I had put it on broil) and although the display box showed that it had turned itself off, the oven kept heating and getting hotter and hotter, I had to unplug it. I feel like I have bought disposable appliances! How could I have such serious problems after only 2 years? To top it all off, this past week my fridge (also a whirlpool, model WRT779RFYM10) also started acting up. Water is leaking all over inside the fridge and the freezer. I have to clean it up everyday.

Disappointed with Whirlpool Gold bottom freezer GX2SHBXVY05. We purchase this refrigerator in December 2010 thinking we were buying a good quality french door fridge. It didnt take long before problems started with the freezer over freezing and the fridge not cooling. We also had a problem with water pooling on the bottom of the freezer then freezing into a solid piece of ice. Water eventually started pooling on the kitchen floor and living room carpet. We did not purchase the extended warranty believing we shouldnt have had to as we were believing a good name brand. After having a repair person in twice we were told we needed a new computer board and switch. Total cost for repair $350.00 plus previous charges, so far adding up to over $450.00. We called Whirlpool customer service, was a waste of time as they simply told me they could send out their own repair person to obtain the same diagnosis I already had. They told me I should have purchased the warranty. I told them I shouldnt have needed to. Whirlpool customer service refused to do anything for me as it was too long past the 1 year limited warranty. Doing my own research I found this to be a problem with a great many Whirlpool fridge owners and I mentioned this to their customer service and mentioned there should be a recall. I will no longer purchased another Whirlpool product as the company does not stand behind their product.

Same old story! Whirlpool Cabrio is a lemon! I did pay a service guy to find out what the problem was - $70. I ordered a control board for $210, I still had the problems. I ordered bearings for $80. Yay, my Cabrio works! Well, this was all 4 months ago and here we go again. My washing machine is doing everything it was before I replaced the brand new parts. Im so mad! I spent $360. I couldve had a new washer, not a $1000 Cabrio, but who cares at this point! Anything seems better than this pile!

Bought Whirlpool refrigerator Model GB2FHDXWS from Best Buy in July, 2012. I began freezing up immediately. Called Best Buy. They replaced it. Now the second one quit. Freezer doesnt work. Refrigerator motor works constantly. Called Whirlpool and was informed unit only has one year warranty. Got an estimate to repair it. Evidently, sealed unit needs to be replaced at $700. Will never buy another Whirlpool appliance again. Will not deal with a company that will not stand by its products.

I bought a Whirlpool French door, freezer drawer on bottom at Lowes 2 years
I bought a Whirlpool French door, freezer drawer on bottom at Lowes 2 years ago for $2,600. The refrigerator needed a new motherboard within the first year and now that it is in the 2nd year, service is required again. The repairman ordered the part and came the 2nd time to replace the part upon receipt. Now it needs the 3rd part since it is still not working. I have a herniated disc in my neck and had to remove everything from the refrigerator and freezer to take downstairs to salvage our food. Now I have to go through the same thing again for the 3rd time after the additional part comes. This refrigerator is junk. I asked Lowes for a new replacement but of course was denied. Does anyone know a good lawyer for this type of situation? I never had a problem with an appliance like this.

I purchased a home from Pulte and closed in June of 2020 and had no choice but to take Whirlpool appliances. Pulte does not offer high end appliances in order to maximize their profit. The first thing that failed after only 3 months was the Microwave and because we didnt want to get the same cheap microwave we upgraded and paid 400 for a Kitchen Aid, same size but never received the trim kit that matches the oven that came in sometime in October 2020. It is now January 2022 and we are still waiting for the trim kit. Every time we call to find out we spend hours on the phone. The refrigerator is a cheap version of the worst refrigerator made in China, the ice maker works ok but ice gets stuck in the chute and when it doesnt get stuck half goes to the glass and the other half to the floor. Poor design and we are stuck with it. Tried to buy an LG from Costco but it wont go through the door so again we are stuck with this small refrigerator with no room for groceries for two people. Stovetop is also cheap, only looks good the day we got the house, one of the burners would go off when turned to low with gas still flowing. Grates look 10 years old but must admit we cook every day. Oven will not calibrate and it is not accurate so we have learned to set everything 10 degrees higher to make up for the variance. Dishwasher had issues as well, unless you run it for 3 hours the shorter settings always have dishes or utensils still soiled. Warranties have expired after one year so it is now time to replace almost everything if we want decent appliances. Very disappointed but I blame Pulte for buying cheap.

I am writing to you all today to urge you to not purchase Whirlpool product
I am writing to you all today to urge you to not purchase Whirlpool products specifically Whirlpool 2-cu ft High-Efficiency Front-Load Washer. I purchased a front loader washing machine for our tenants through Sears back in June of 2013. When it was hooked up it had an error code on it so we contacted Sears and 3 weeks later they sent out a repairman telling us it needed a new motor (this machine had not even washed 1 load of laundry). They ordered the part and Sears paid 1200 to replace a part on an 800.00 washer.....yeah I know dumb right. Well the part replacement did not work. (Surprised) They ordered and delivered a new washer 1 month later....same error code. Lets try again with another washer......same error code. How about another one......water would not stop running into the machine because the sensor was broken. Wait we are not done how about another one.....same error code. No I am not kidding, 10 months later 5 washing machines and my tenants have yet to have been able to wash a single load of laundry. I have been reimbursing my tenants every month for not having a washer for the past 10 months. I finally had Sears reimburse for the washer which they will pick up soon. I am out all the interest for the past 10 months for a product never used. To top it all off I called Whirlpool directly to see if they would be willing to at least give me a coupon for any amount toward the purchase of a different washer. They told me quote We dont do anything to compensate our customer for their troubles. That is the icing on the cake folks!!! I will never purchase another Whirlpool product and I encourage you all to not as well. I want to show them how not caring for their customers can impact them. Please share if you can, but more importantly please pass the word!!!!!

After 14 years of good service with Whirlpool Duet front load washer dryer
After 14 years of good service with Whirlpool Duet front load washer dryer set, wife chose Whirlpool kitchen appliances as part of a kitchen update project. All matching fridge, range, microwave hood and dishwasher. What a nightmare! The icemaker growls and whines all the time and the dishwasher was broken before being packaged at the manufacturer. A wheel from the middle rack was missing when the dishwasher was opened. It wasnt in the sealed dishwasher nor in the box. So it had to have been broken off before the item was boxed. We called for warranty claim and A-1 Appliance was recommended out of Shreveport, LA. In a few weeks he showed up, looked at the rack for a while and said Ill have to order a new part. I said fine. (How hard can that be? Right?) So here we are 5 months later, unable to use the middle rack because it cant hold any weight with the roller missing. Multiple calls to Whirlpool and A1 and we keep getting promises and runarounds that turn out to be lies. How hard is it to say go to your local Lowes and well authorize them to give to give you a rack from an in-stock dishwasher? Let Lowes wait on the new part! Sounds simple, and any other company would have done that, or told us to return it to Lowes for another one. But NO! Whirlpool just whines about being behind on parts, shorthanded, or lies about the part is in and its A1s problem now.So, today, same story. A1 says they need 2 parts. **! Its one part. Whirlpool says A1 has the needed part. Same old runaround. So, we just replaced our 14 year old washer and dryer with NON Whirlpool units. $2500 more in of appliances that Whirlpool could have gotten, but Im guessing they dont even care about missing and losing sells. They certainly do not care about warranty, parts, quality, customer satisfaction or repeat customers. Never again with Whirlpool! Beware!

We purchased a 50 gallon water heater in 2005. In 2008, the thermocoupling unit went out and Whirlpool sent us the replacement part and we had a plumper install the piece (at our expense, of course). Now, we are running into the exact same problem 3 years later with the pilot light not staying lit. We had a plumber come out this weekend and replace the part but unfortunately this time, its not fixing the problem. The plumber charged us $178. He said that he can replace the thermostat on the water heater but that would cost us close to $400 to replace and makes no sense to do since purchasing a new one wouldnt be much more than that. I am so frustrated with this water heater; I just want to throw it out in the middle of the street! We still have 3 years left on our warranty too. I have 2 very young daughters who need to take baths, and who also dirty up quite a bit of clothes that need to be washed in warm water. What a nightmare! Whirlpool, help us!

I am posting to help anyone else avoid the purchase of this machine! The lid has cracked and now warped into a position where it wont stay down. Obviously a washer will not work without being in the locked position, so we have to put several heavy things on top of it just to run a load of laundry. This is not what we expect out of a washer that we paid $900 for only two years ago!!!! We contacted Whirlpool and they offered to fix it for $350. REALLY??? I SHOULD NOT have to pour money into a washer this expensive after two years!!!! I am so disappointed in Whirlpool, this was the entire reason we purchased Whirlpool products, to avoid stress of broken appliances. I purchased a Whirlpool water heater and after working fine for about 2 1/2 years, I began having problems with it staying lit. I dealt with troubleshooting beginning in January of 2012 and finally in March of 2012, I was sent some replacement parts. The unit worked fine through the summer and once the weather started getting cold in October of 2012, I began to have problems with the unit again. After a couple of months complaining and threatening to file a BBB complaint, I was sent all of the parts left to change on the water heater. And I was told after the parts were changed if the unit still did not work, that it was probably a venting issue and that I would be responsible for that issue and the unit was not defective. I received the parts on 12/04/12 and they were changed out the same day. Now the unit will light when I hold down the button to light it but once I let go, the pilot light goes out. At least before changing out the parts, the unit was able to be turned on and sometimes it would work and other times it didnt, but now it will not light at all. This is very frustrating because the unit is under warranty and Whirlpool has for an entire year fought me tooth and nail just to send me the parts for the unit, only for the unit to still not work. I have a family and it is discouraging to not know when you are going to have hot water, having to constantly fix the unit or to call Whirlpool to troubleshoot and finally for the unit to still not work after replacing the parts. It looks like I will not have any hot water at all now.

Am I going to lose $1000 worth of food each year? No satisfaction with Whirlpool whatsoever for this piece of junk. And the problems were manufacturer defects. In fact, one of the parts had a recall on it and we were never notified. I dont know about anyone else, but I cant afford to just throw away $1000 worth of food every year. My wife could not get the door to open unless she pushed the door button hard several times. I checked to see if the trim kit was causing the problem and it was not. We kept trying to get the door to open as it should but could not make it work correctly. I even used a little lubricant and it did not help. We then looked up the reviews and saw this was a prevalent problem. We then returned the unit and trim and ordered a Samsung. It will be in on the 25th of March. We purchased a water heater at Lowes. Our old water heater had an issue but we always had good water pressure with the hot water until we made the horrendous mistake to purchase at LOWES - the worst possible place to buy a water heater. They sent the water heater and we had to look for someone to connect the WHIRLPOOL WATER HEATER (the runaway water heater). When it was installed the water pressure at my home was so bad that only one shower can be used at a time. This never happened before with the old water heater, there was no pressure at all.We called LOWES the WORST PLACE TO BUY A WATER HEATER, they did not accept any responsibility and they sent me to the Technician that Lowes has in DENVER to fix the problem. This bad company (WHIRLPOOL) sent us a crooked technician who wanted to charge us $600 dollars to repair something other than the water heater. We did not trust this person and we called another technician who told us that the water heater is not working properly. There is no one at LOWES and NO ONE at the Whirlpool customer service who can help us with this disgraceful water heater.DONT BUY WHIRLPOOL WATER HEATERS. DONT BUY AT LOWES!!! They are crooks! They do not respond for their products. They do not want to exchange the damn water heater as HOME DEPOT would. Buy everything at HOME DEPOT! Run away from Lowes! They dont stand behind their products, they send you all the work and if you have something wrong with your purchase they will not help you.

My stove is great. The only thing I would change is one more big eye. Having two big eyes would really help. I also love the oven although I have to pay attention because it heats on the hot side. A cake will be done in 18 min instead of 20 or 25.

Purchased a new Whirlpool washer and it has the sensor-- like I am too stupid to decide on the level of water to match my load-- not sure why I got an agitator because I am the only thing it agitates. The clothes just sit there in its own filth and then go in the dryer. Actually put a stained item in the wash to remove the stain and instead it just spread to other clothing and has stained and possibly damaged them. Washing the same clothes 3 times is not saving energy, water and time for me.

In January 2021 I purchased a front load Whirlpool washer and matching dryer. They were delivered on February 6 2021. The first load we found water on the floor. I thought I didnt close the detergent drawer so I proceeded with the next load. Again I found water this even through the ceiling tile in room below. So with the next load I sat in laundry room to see what was happening. When on the rinse cycle water shoots out the front of the dispenser drawer.Contacted service, they sent repair man. He ordered new parts and I waited over 3 weeks for next repair call to find out that whirlpool had part all along. Repair man came again and still no resolution to issue. He was told to order same parts again - still no resolution yet again. I fought with Whirlpool till they said they would give me a new machine. Now fighting because delivery people wont uninstall 1st washer and install new machine. Today is June 28 2021 and I still DONT HAVE A WASHER TO USE. I havent even used the dryer yet. I have $3400 and numerous hours with Whirlpool trying to resolve this issue! Can you help? Whirlpool continues to string us along, telling us to be patient, theyre doing their best.

I bought the Ikea dishwasher (model IUD8500BX1) in 2014. Because it’s from Ikea, it has 5 year warranty. I was using it daily, as I have a family of 5 and we cook and eat at home most days. I have called Whirlpool at least 4 times according to the repairman that was here today. Ive already had to replace the pump because it was holding up water. After which, mold started occurring in the washer. The technician who came out found 4 fault codes on the machine. He was prepared to replace sensors and the circuit board for the heater and the pump, since it likely had mold. But Whirlpool says the parts are functional therefore the replacement parts won’t fix it. He is not allowed to replace anything.Considering the mold is an after effect of the failure to drain, you would think they would fix the mold as well. A replacement dishwasher would be nice, but at least replacement of the internal plastic parts that I cant clean. Instead, they tell me to bleach wash it and run a cycle with bleach. Guess what, Ive already done that. And according to the technician hes never seen a dishwasher have this much mold when it’s used as often as I use it. If you are buying this product thinking they will stand by their product, think again.

I have purchased two Whirlpool microwaves since 2007. The first unit lasted 5-1/2 years, the second one lasted only 2-1/2 years. I used it at dinner but several hours later it was dead. After reading other reviews I have decided it would be cheaper and less stressful to get a new one. So Tomorrow I will be purchasing a new microwave which WILL NOT be Whirlpool. I no longer have confidence in any of their products.

Bought a Whirlpool French door refrigerator in March 2014 and have had to have it serviced 4 times now - all for the same issue. We get frost in the refrigerator (not the freezer, the refrigerator). The same parts keep being replaced but they are all defective. This last time the service tech said he contacted Whirlpool and they had a redesigned part that should take care of it. Within 3 days of the new part being installed the frost is back. The other issue is the loud noise of the compressor. We have had multiple Whirlpool products through the years, but this is the last.

Never again will I buy a Whirlpool product. I paid over $800 for a new washer 51/2 years ago. I had it worked on twice under extended warranty. Now the bearings are out of the tub and it sounds like a jet taking off when it spins. I had whirlpool products in the past and they lasted for years with no problems. I have a friend who has a relative who is an engineer for whirlpool and his job is to engineer their products so they fail within a certain time frame. They dont want them to last like they use to. They now have gotten their product line to the point where they can tell when it will fail. This is crap. What happened to products that lasted like they use to. NEVER BUY WHIRLPOOL.

I purchased a Whirlpool range YGY399LXUQ in 2012 from a great local appliance store, Trail Appliances. In 2013 the control panel stopped working and I contacted Trail. They quickly came out and replaced the control panel. In 2014 the same issue came up, but Trail could and would not do anything so I contacted Whirlpool Directly - they came out and replaced the control panel. In 2015 (same month) the control panel is not working AGAIN and Whirlpool has washed their hands of it. A replacement is over $400 + installation. The stove is barely worth that much. I would have thought that they would stand behind their product, in that this is an obvious continual issue or at the very least the service that they provide. I would not recommend their ranges to anyone because they will not stand behind what they product nor will I ever purchase anything that Whirlpool makes as it is obviously low quality.

I bought this dishwasher in Nov. 2018 to replace one that was barely workin
I bought this dishwasher in Nov. 2018 to replace one that was barely working. I have enjoyed using it much more than my old one. Its very quiet and does a great job of cleaning dishes, pans and silverware. The only problem we had was installing it. The leveling screws do not hold their height adjustment when the dishwasher is pushed across the floor during installation because the leveling screw pad was changed from steel to plastic and the tapped hole for the leveling screw is too loose. The effect of this - whereas the steel pad would slide the plastic pad will grab, turn and move the leveling screw out of adjustment. Especially if its tapped hole is too loose. So we went to Home Depot and bought 4 5/16 nuts and used them as lock nuts on the 4 leveling screws. This cost 50 cents. Once we installed it everything worked perfectly. It does take longer to complete a cycle than my old one - 3 hours vs. 2 but it uses less water and does a great job of cleaning. You must use a drying agent with your dish soap or it wont get dry enough. Also, if you use the short 1 hour wash it wont have as much time to dry and some dishes wont be completely dry. I usually wait to do a full wash with the normal cycle - 3 hour.

I bought my microwave on Dec. 8, 2010 and paid to have it installed. On June 29, 2011, the microwave quit heating anything up so I called Whirlpool. They sent a technician out and he repaired the magnetron. The tech said it was defective. I accepted that but then on Nov. 8, 2011, the microwave quit again, same problem. I called Whirlpool and told them I thought it was a lemon and wanted it replaced but they refused and said that they paid to have it fixed. They came out and fixed it. Same problem, the magnetron. Well, here we are another six months later, it has quit again. I have been on the phone with Whirlpool. I spoke to a lady named Barbara and she said even though its out of warranty, they would be willing to pay for the parts, not the labor. Of course, labor is more than the parts. So, I asked her whats going to happen another six months from here on. When it goes out again, she said that that was it. They werent paying for any more parts. I asked her for her supervisors number. She advised me to write a letter and someone would call me. Well, a lady named Donna did call and she told me the same thing. They would pay for parts but not labor and the offer was only good for 30 days. Also, I have the tech talk to their techs but she didnt have the number and maybe they could find the problem. Well, the problem is its defective. Thats all there is to it. We could fix it over and over again but its going to keep burning out. I told Donna surely I cant be the only one complaining about this microwave and her response was theres no recall on it. Something needs to happen. This cant be right. We spent hard-earned money on this product and shouldnt have such a problem every six months.

Before that call we had spent quite a lot of hours on the phone with Whirlpool and Brands Mart USA.. We purchased three appliances from Brands Mart USA Range, Dishwasher and Microwave at the same time they were all Whirlpool products. What happened to Good Customer Service and Return Customers for Job Security? Well neither Company care for their customers. We did not break a motherboard for a stove oven because the range was never turned on because it was broken when purchased.. We are unable to get any help from either company. I have had my washer dryer set for only 3 years and have all the problems that have already been posted. Whirlpool has no recall on this washer (Cabrio) and does not plan on helping out anybody in any way. Their solution is pay for everything out of pocket or buy their one year warranty for ironically the price of what a new motor, and any of the other common items that are breaking would cost. And this is only good for ONE year. With the history of this company I would expect this to last at least ten years or longer before we start discussing replacing anything. I also had a Maytag that I had a problem with and did not get anywhere with that either. Whirlpool/Maytag, you need to stand behind your product. Your name is not going to get you anywhere nowadays. This blog has a spot about legal representation. If you can help me, please contact me.

Since keeping records of the failures, the unit failed either by the gas control valve or the thermocouple on December 2011, November 2011, April 2010, February 2009, and April 2008. Whirlpool has at all times supplied the parts but denied that the parts are technically faulted. Whirlpool has further rejected all requests to refund me for defective product. To be fair to Whirlpool, I have contacted them but have not given them time
To be fair to Whirlpool, I have contacted them but have not given them time to respond. I feel so strongly about this issue that I want to get the message about this company product out. About 2 years ago, we purchased a Whirlpool fridge, stove, and dishwasher. I have had so many problems with the stove (WFG540H0AS0) that it has pissed me off, actually. First, the knobs that control the stove top melted. MELTED! We had to replace them to the tune of $30.00 each and there are 5. Why would anyone use knobs that cannot withstand heat on a stove?! News flash, I cook on my stove. Therefore, there will be heat used. Second, the oven keeps shutting off in the middle of cooking my holiday meal. Of course, this made my turkey take much longer than usual. Today, it shut off in the middle of cupcakes. Third, the oven does ignite without turning it on and off multiple times. So we called the repair person who told us to replace the ignition switch for it. This helped for about one month. Then the problem started again. I just emailed Whirlpool and I will call them next business day. I am so disappointed with Whirlpool. I thought they had a good reputation for quality products.

I am in construction and have had to deal with failed motherboards on new Whirlpool fridges that we put in some rental properties. Knowing that, when I went to buy a fridge for my own house, I went to a very reputable appliance company and talked openly about getting a fridge that wasnt going to be a problem. My sales agent and I go back always and he was very open about the problems with the more gadgeted Whirlpools so we picked a low bells and whistles French door fridge to avoid that. It stopped cooling at about the same age as all the rental units did and had a control panel fail. The sales guy and I laughed about how even knowing about the issues I didnt avoid it. Their company came out and fixed it for just short of 300 bucks. Two months later, it stopped cooling again. The service tech came out and this time hit the side of the fridge with his hand and opened a relay getting it to work, at least for another week. The tech told his boss that I must not have shut the freezer causing it to go into defrost mode. The third time it failed, we were out of town and lost all our perishables. We had the same tech come out and replace the board he got to work the last time with a whack to the side of the unit. That board should have been under a parts warranty for 90 days but I may have missed that with the slap repair working for the additional 2 weeks.Im trying to put this behind me but Whirlpool sent me an Extended Warranty Plan opportunity. I can now buy a plan on an almost 3-year old fridge. I am wondering if they are trying to give me the hook up on a bad product or just hoping to prey off my fears and cash in. The company I bought the appliance from has been first rate but their hands are tied by Whirlpool who has virtually no support for their vendors. Before buying a Whirlpool, consider a Sub-Zero. After you figure in the repairs, they arent too far apart in price.

If everyone would submit their complains to Whirlpool, they might do something about this. Submit your complaint to ALL of the followings emails: investor_relations@whirlpool.com media@whirlpool.com whirlpool_customerexperience@whirlpool.com B2Bdevelopment@whirlpool.com. Here is what I wrote to Whirlpool: Model: WTW7800XWO, Serial number: C02670320. I purchased the 4.6 Cu. Ft. Cabrio Platinum Top Load Washer in June 2010. The washer lid has broken 3 times now. Its snapping by the hinges. I have been charged about $300 per lid. I believe the hinges are not durable enough to support the weight of the glass lid. I have read hundreds of reviews regarding the same model and issues, I also have a friend who has the same model and is experiencing the same issues and has had to replace the lid twice now. Im disappointed that Whirlpool has not taken accountability for this and either issue a recall or replace the lid at no charge to the customer. If there has been so many complaints, why hasnt Whirlpool taken action on this? I am requesting that the Whirlpool Headquarters address this issue immediately. When I called customer service to complain about this issue, the rep informed me that they have never heard about this issue before. From all the reviews I have read online, it seems that customer service is telling them the same thing. By not addressing this defect, Whirlpool will lose thousands of customers. This is not the way to retain or have returning customers. This is the first time I have purchased a Whirlpool appliance. I will not be a returning customer if this matter is not resolved.

I closed on our new home in December 29, 2019! The first issue we experienced with our Whirlpool Oven was March 2020! The first technician who arrive in March 2020 was supposed to replaced two parts, but, one part in her possession was the wrong part that Whirlpool ordered for an electric oven, not a gas oven! Since March 2020, three additional technicians have been sent out from Texas Home Appliance Center, and accomplisnhed nothing! As a matter of fact, the third Technician, Edward, came out to service the oven and all he did was turn the oven on! He had no instruments and did not appear to check on any other issues! Three visits from Technicians later, I finally received a call from a Whirlpool Supervisor, today approximately, 1:47pm CST! Her explanation was the following: The documentation from the so-called professional technicians stated there was no issues with the oven! Even though the oven is still not operational according to its specs! Theres even one part that is missing where Whirlpool ordered the wrong part, ac cording to the Technician. And, we never heard from that Technician again with respect to the followup on the missing part! The Supervisor I spoke with today ~1:47pm today, Dec 9, 2020, stated I was welcome to call again to place a warranty work order, but, if they dont find anything wrong with the oven, I would have to pay for the visit! This is ridiculous on many levels. I will be writing other reviews to influence the public not to purchase Whirlpool Ovens if this is the kind of Customer Service Orientation they will received. This is unacceptable Customer Service Orientation! I have a Whirlpool oven, where 3 techncians have serviced it, and, it still doesnt perform correctly! It still takes 30 minutes to cook a can of biscuits, and, they still required more time in the oven! Whirlpool states if the documentation from the technicians states the oven is working properly, then, Whirlpool cannot do anything for us - even though the oven is still under warranty! UNACCEPTABLE! Ive purchased my last Whirlpool Oven!

I knew I couldnt be the only one with these problems. The reviews confirmed it. I bought my Cabrio washer in 2012. Energy efficient, no agitator to catch on clothes, Great. It took me a while to figure out that the machine was eating my clothes and not cleaning them at all. Oh, they smelled fresh. That HE detergent smells nasty. The machine ate the edges off my good towels, T-shirts, jeans. Brand new underwear (thick elastic) was stretched all the way out and pulled. Normal stains and dirt do not come out even with pretreating. I started running my clothes on the delicate cycle, prewashing stains in a bucket by hand and then putting clothes in mesh bag before running the load. They still came out dirty and ruined. When I run the loads, it still registers as not being that energy efficient on the controls. Id gladly trade it back for my old washer. I feel like I have stepped back in time to a time where you washed everything in a tub or bucket. What a waste of time.

After 2 1/2 yrs, the bearings have gone out, also every time I run the cleaning cycle, water leaks out under the washer. My boyfriend looked the parts to fix the washer, since I called Lowes concerning the warranty and its out. Cost to repair, just in parts would be around $400, I paid a lot of money for a product to last only 2 1/2 yrs. Such a lack of quality in workmanship. My wife and I purchased our Whirlpool Duet Model # WFW95HEDC 7/19/16. I put my first claim in on 12/19/16. We were sitting downstairs one night watching tv and all of a sudden a noise like the sound of a tractor trailer putting on its jake brake came roaring from upstairs. It was so loud that we both jumped. The machine would periodically vibrate violently while going thru its spin cycle. The frequency started to get closer and closer together. Whirlpool had a technician come to our home. They came out 3 times and said that nothing was wrong. They said that it was vibrating because it was on a pedestal and upstairs on a non solid floor. They also blamed the loose water hose on the noise. SERIOUSLY??? After the 3rd visit, and a week before the 4th visit our machine started to leak. We paid $1,079.00 for this washer and we were having to take our laundry to a laundromat to wash it. The technician came out the 4th time and replaced a cracked drum. Apparently it vibrated so badly that the drum cracked. So everything seemed ok, then WHALAH!!! We wash the clothes and go to move it to the dryer and it is dripping wet. Somehow after they replaced the drum the machine started to not spin the water from the clothes very well. Takes drying the clothes for 50min 2x to get them dry. I am now set to have the appliance company come out for a 5th time and still not corrected. Whats worse is that every time I contact Whirlpool they give me the same canned speech and want to set up another appointment with the appliance company. I am soon at the year mark with my manufacturers warranty and still having issues. I think Whirlpool keeps kicking the can down the road without making good on correcting the issue so they can get past the year mark and make us take it up with Home Depot on our extended service plan. I feel bad for everyone out there who got screwed by this company.

I have a top-freezer model WRT5715MYW. This week will mark the 3rd time Ive had a service call to complain about food freezing in the refrigerator compartment. The last time the repairman told me I couldnt place food in the center of the refrigerator since that is where the cold air from the freezer compartment comes down into the refrigerator compartment. This time when I called to schedule the repair call, the woman at the appliance store where I purchased this told me she also has a Whirpool refrigerator and she cant place any food on the bottom shelf of the refrigerator due to freezing. So this 21 cu ft refrigerator has a lot less usable space than I was led to believe when I purchased it. I would not recommend this product due to this reason. Beware of that channel that comes down the center of the back of the refrigerator. It seems like a design flaw to me.

I will never buy another Whirlpool.

After Hurricane Katrina, six years ago, the gas water heater in my house had to be replaced due to the house getting flooded. For the past six years, the pilot light and/or igniter for the gas water heater has had to be replaced if not once a year, twice a year because it will not stay lit. Each time, Whirlpool would send a new igniter and/or pilot light part and would reimburse me the cost of labor to have the part(s) replaced. Now, after six years and exhausted of fighting with Whirlpool to stand behind their product and make it right, they are finally giving me an authorization to get a new gas water heater. However, now they are telling me they will not cover the cost of labor for replacing the entire water heater. My plumber will have to pull the defective water heater out of my house, take it to Lowes, pick up the new water heater and install it in my home. And Im supposed to accept their not paying for the labor of replacing their faulty water heater? I questioned this and told Whirlpool they paid for labor for the parts to be replaced for the past six years. Whirlpool then said they would pay up to $100. This is not acceptable. I was reimbursed more than $100 for the labor to replace a part that fits in a shoe box. (Multiply $100+ times 6. They paid more than $600 over the past six years.) The cost to replace an entire water heater, picking it up from the store included, will cost more than $200, if not $300! I would not have to pay anything if the Whirlpool product was not defective!I told the manager I was speaking with at Whirlpool I wanted to speak with his boss or someone who had more authority than he did. He refused. I asked him, Was he telling me no I could not speak with someone above him? He finally said he would have someone call me.I believe I should be reimbursed for the entire amount of labor to replace the water heater since the water heater is a defective product and I have to have it replaced not by my choice but out of necessity and safety. If it is defective in one area, who is to say in trying to light the pilot light, one day it will not do something worse than just not light up. What if it decides to explode? Defective is defective and I feel my family is in danger from a defective product and it should be replaced at the cost of Whirlpool not mine.

We replaced our kitchen appliances and went with Whirlpool. The oven and Refrigerator havent had any issues yet but the dishwasher has been crap since it was installed. While it looks 10 times better than my old dirty dishwasher it replaced, its main function of washing dishes is 1/4 the of the quality after running two or three times. Not to mention the average cycle time is 4-8 hrs. Dishwashers by design, should be convenient and save time. Whirlpool managed to remove both of those traits from this Dishwasher and now their warranty service said they can send out a technician but I will have to pay for it if it’s not covered under warranty!

My Whirpool refrigerator model # WRF990SLAM01 was 14 months old (2 months past the new product warranty) when we started having issues with multiple areas. The ice machine stopped making ice and started dripping from the dispenser and the freezer stopped freezing food. I called and was told to purchase an extended warranty which cost me $375.00. The service tech has been to my house 12 times over the last 9 months. They have replaced multiple parts and even started replacing parts a second time. I was instructed by the service tech to call and request a replacement fridge. Whirlpool customer service told me that it would have to be considered a lemon before they replaced the product. I was told that would require each component to be replaced 3 times. I would need to take off work 27 more times for the repairs!!! The service tech came out one more time and he said there was nothing else he could do. I called again to complain and even wrote to Whirlpool corporation (though they never called me back at my request). After much complaining, which I do not normally do, they have decided to replace the unit. BUT I have to pay and additional $476.29 for them to replace this unit!!! I feel like I was totally raked over the coals from this company. I will never buy another Whirlpool product again and I recommend you do not either.

The fridge had already been re-engineered by the time the repair man got here but the fix didnt work. We had a 50 degree refrigerator for over a month. Now the stove wont keep a constant temperature so we wait for the service man once again. They look beautiful but they are the worst we have owned over our 36 years. They obviously have engineering issues looking at all the other reviews. I dont see us purchasing another Whirlpool appliance in the future.

I have been extremely dissatisfied with the Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine!!! I tried to take it back and Lowes would not let me return it because I had had it for 6 months. It doesnt put enough water in the machine to get all of the clothes wet. It doesnt get the clothes clean and it leaves some kind of lint residue all over dark clothes. I am only able to put in 1/4 of the clothes I put in my Maytag washer which I loved, but it wore out. I am also short and it is so deep I have to use a stool to get up on to reach into so i can reach the bottom of the machine. Even though it is a huge tub, I can only put a few pieces of clothes in it to get it to clean the clothes. It is a very poor design and needs to be recalled!

We paid $6,000 over and above my homes purchase price for double ovens that are defective. Whirlpool will not address the problem! When you bake a pie or a turkey, the bottom and center are raw, and the top burns, because the bottom element is hidden under the bottom of the oven, instead of on top of the interior floor area of the oven. Whirlpools new design is defective! The service technician says the oven is performing as designed therefore there is a design defect! However, Whirlpool will not take any action, because the parts are not broken and they send us back to the extended service plan people. It is ridiculous for the consumer to be caught in the middle. Whirlpool does not want to stand by their product. The builder of our home, Coleman Homes in Middleton, ID, purchased the ovens from Whirlpool originally. Therefore Whirlpool says we are not the original purchaser of the product, Coleman Homes are, and Whirlpool cannot do anything because we did not buy the ovens directly from Whirlpool ourselves, Coleman Homes did. The Whirlpool Warranty (waste of money) says they cannot do anything because it is not a parts issue. Coleman Homes says they cannot do anything because the warranty was given to us when we purchased the home. Whirlpool needs to replace the hidden element with a true baking element so the ovens will bake properly!!! Model Number: WOD51EC0AS Serial Number: D52208658

Whirlpool Gold (Model No. GX5FHDXVY04), expensive French-Door style refrigerator , with bottom freezer pull-out drawer, purchased in 2010, has drain line that repeatedly blocks, causing frozen sheet of water on bottom of freezer and consequent leaking of water onto wood flooring (ruining said flooring). To add insult to injury, 5-year extended repair warranty I purchased specifically EXCLUDES drain lines, leading me to believe that this is a well-known problem that is costly to repair which is true because the drain line and pan on this particular model is nigh impossible to access without upending the unit (two people required) and accessing the bottom panel of the unit. This appears to me to be a design defect that Whirlpool should correct -- at its expense, not mine. I am currently reviewing possible courses of action, to include, but not limited to, BBB complaint and litigation.

This washer has been a lemon since the day we bought it. Always leaves marks all over dark clothes. Had to have a part replaced before we owned it a year & repairman from the company said they have to replace that same part every time they go out so they carry them on the truck. Latch broke after owning it for less than 2 years & now it no longer spins water out of clothes. All this & we havent even owned it 3 years. I had a GE washer for years when I first got married & had children. Never had problems like this. Paid it off on Monday & on Friday it became a piece of junk. How is Whirlpool getting away with this misrepresentation? I dont even see how they can call it a washer.

In 2008 I bought a Whirlpool range from Lowes. About a year ago I began to notice an electrical smell when I would use the oven. I called the repairman in October and he had to replace wires that had melted. The first time using the oven blew a fuse. Repairman came back replaced everything for free and it has worked fine since October. 2 days ago the fuse blew again. When I flipped the breaker in order to use the cooktop there was an arc flash which blew a hole through the back of the panel on the stove where the cord is hooked to the stove and a hole burned in my wall. After reading Whirlpools fan mail I see that there are severe issues with the quality of Whirlpool products. It is a sad day when the names we have come to trust are more concerned with the bottom dollar than with customer satisfaction with their product.

It knotted my clothes up and twisted them to the point that clothes are so badly out of shape, hems are pulled out and some clothing torn. We no longer use the washer. Also, a very bad film all over our clothing. I have just tonight contacted the Whirlpool company as I have made numerous complaints to the business where I bought it to no avail. The day after buying and using once, the store sent a repairman out and he said use it on delicate. I have done that with the same results. I bought my washer in December of 2011. I am hoping Whirlpool contacts me. If not, we can contact the state attorney generals office, Consumer Affairs and our main TV station to make complaints. I have a Whirlpool Cabrio washer. It was great for almost year. After that it has been nothing but trouble. The body of the washer has rust coming through the paint and large areas that is so rusted that the paint has chipped off completely. A washer is expected to deal with water and not rust through the body. I have a 10-year old Ford truck without a speck of rust. Dont they undercoat? The circuit board has had to be replaced because of rust. I have to take several Q-tips and go under the cover to remove all the rust if I dont it gets rust stains on my clothes, which is impossible to remove. The customer service is non existent. They have left me on the line for over 40 minutes. I hang on only because it would be another hour or so of my time to get someone to answer. I was without a washer for a month while waiting for parts. Why dont they have parts for their products? I had to slop my way too dirty laundry mats 3 times a week as I do 2 to 3 loads a day.My washer is downstairs and stops and gives me the unbalanced message even when its not, running up and down the stairs several times to complete one load. I also get the F51 message for no perceivable reason. The extra rinse button only works 1/2 the time. This was an expensive washer ($1,000.00) and I feel that I deserve my money back. They are knowingly making an inferior product.

We purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio, top load washing machine WTW6600SW back in 11/07. Last week (todays date is 8/19/11), the machine sounded like a plane taking off when it spins out. When the local service technician came out this week, he said that the bearings are shot. Since the tub and bearings are all one part, we were told by the technician that the part and labor costs would be $379.99 to repair it. I had a 14-year-old 40-gallon tank that was working great but I decided it was time to get it replaced. I picked out a Whirlpool 400-gallon tank stated to be good for a family of 3 to 4 people. Immediately after installation, I got complaints from family members that there was no enough hot water for morning showers. I turned up the thermostat to the maximum 140 degrees, but there was still wasnt enough hot water. The Whirlpool rep on the phone stated that 3 people cant take back-to-back showers. The unit wasnt designed for this. I told him the unit is advertised for a family of 3 to 4 and I have only 3. I asked where on the advertisement does it state 3 people cant take back-to-back showers? His response was, Where does it state you can? I asked his name and he would not give it to me. If 3 people cant take showers on a unit stated to be for a family of 3 to 4, something is wrong. 5 years and 11 months ago I bought a 50 gallon gas, Whirlpool hot water heater with a 6-year warranty from Lowes. The 2007 water heaters were on sale, so I paid $329 for it. Within 6 months, I replaced the gas valve, and a few months after that, the thermo-couple went out and I replace that. Each time I called Whirlpool and got return authorization numbers for the parts, I still ended up paying for the parts plus labor. A year after that, the igniter went out and I had that replaced. Last year (the day before Thanksgiving), the thermo-couple went out again and I had to have that replaced - and it cost me for the part plus the labor - even though I had a return authorization number. I also replaced the water line connections/hoses to the water heater at that time. The customer service rep for Whirlpool told me at that time if I had another problem with the water heater, they would replace it for free - and the warranty was good until Dec 31, 2013 (this year). NOTE: Every plumber that has come out to fix the water heater and replace the parts stated that they see a myriad of problems with Whirlpool water heaters. They said the parts like the thermo-couples, igniters, gas valves, etc are poorly built and they replace them all the time. On Christmas Eve 2013 (two days ago), the water heater started leaking from the top by the valves - and so much pressure had built up in the heater the new water hose connections burst, spewing water all over the heater closet. I called Whirlpool the day after Christmas (today). At first, they told me they would not replace the heater as it was not in warranty and then I told them what I was told by the service rep last year. She finally agreed that my heater is indeed under warranty and gave me a replacement authorization number but she told me my warranty did not cover labor. I called Lowes. At first, they told me I would have to remove the old hot water heater myself and bring it back to the store in order to get my replacement. I am a 59 year old woman and I take care of my brother, a disable veteran. Although I am in good shape and healthy, I dont have anyone to help me get the gas and water disconnected and help me lift it into my Suburban. The man at Lowes agreed to bring out the the replacement heater and pick up the old one at no charge, but I will still have to pay $299 plus the cost of new hoses to have it installed. By the time the replacement one is installed, I will have paid a little over $1200 for a $329 water heater. I could have installed a tankless one for that, but I cannot see spending that kind of money right after Christmas. If I have one issue with this replacement, I will install a tankless water heater - and it will not be made by Whirlpool or any of its affiliates. My recommendation would be to steer clear of Whirlpool and their products.
