Common deception of USA and Chinese mfg to fool consumers is to license a well knownBrand to glantz in china. Glantz mfg almost all mini frigs under dozens of well known brands. Federal Trade Commission should ban this kind of deceptive marketing. Complain to the FTC Wash DC!!! 2) Chinese mfg gantz mfg defects and how I fixed them: A) back of freezer compartment open, freezer does not freeze B) 45f inside not 40f!!! C) defective thermostat remedies: 1) aluminum foil to seal back freezer 2) weather stripping around door to bring temp from f45 to 40f.D) used Youtube video to adjust defective thermostat, until I can find a replacement thermostat!!! Dys videos: watch youtube repair videos before you trash your frig. 2) check the country of origin, if its made in china, it will not last very long!! 3) buy an extended warranty for any chinese product. Because of the continuous that, drip, freeze cycle, it creates an ice dam around the rubber boot between the ice maker and ice bin....which they located in the door where there is inadequate cold, so the cubes melt, making even more of a mess, causing it to be unable to dispense them because it is one big mass... oh and that creates an ice dam also, so on top of replacing a torn boot a couple times a year I have to chisel out the ice bucket and defrost it once a week.Want more? The ice tastes horrible. I have no idea why. It didnt in my last refrigerator. The Tap water tastes fine, I disconnected the line running in to the ice maker and tried the water from there and its fine. So somewhere in the ice maker, something is wrong. There is more. The unit is a year old and now inside the refrigerator it smells like gamey shrimp. I have no shrimp in the freezer, fridge, not have I. I dont store anything in poor sealing containers, nothing has spilled, I removed all drawers, panels, shelves and scrubbed the whole inside with bleach/water. I changed every filter, checked the drip pan (clean), and still half-rotten shrimp smell.My last refrigerator was an Amana from 1986. I bought it used in 93 and owned it until I got this Whirlpool. Never had a problem with it. I have had non-stop problems with this over-priced Whirlpool and I guarantee it is the LAST Whirlpool product I will ever own.

The machine runs so loud on the spin cycle you cant have a phone conversation or hear the TV over it and is leaking grease from the bottom. My mistake to not purchase the extended warranty but you would think a machine would last more than 2 years. I contacted Whirlpool online and by mail and they do not stand behind their product. I did contact a local repair shop and by our phone conversation was told it would be approx 300-350 to fix it and Im not putting that kind of money into a repair. Just want to let consumers know this machine is junk and spend your money on quality appliances, not Whirljunkpool.

Control board was replaced a couple times since we bought house. We just put up with it. The tub has a manufacturers defect in bottom where the plastic is so thin it finally cracked and over time water trickling out went to wall. Then ruined an area in finished basement ceiling. Ive used a couple different things to stop the leak but it always starts leaking. Customer service says its not under warranty so will buy a new dishwasher. But not Whirlpool or Maytag. Same company now. Dishwasher is a total piece of crap.

I called Whirlpool and after providing all information about the unit, she informed me that she would not send me the part because the serial number was not registered in my name. I explained to her that I purchased the building and did not install the water heater that a prior owner had installed it. All I wanted was a repair part. The Whirlpool rep refused to sell me a part unless I could provide a bill of sale where I purchased the tank. The part cost $41 which I was more than happy to pay for regardless of any warranty coverage. I have an obligation to provide services to my tenants. Being unable to repair the tank for a problem which appears to be commonplace for this brand, I had to replace with a new tank at a cost of $1380.00.

Lowe’s indicated that it was a manufacturer issue so I called Whirlpool. After talking to the service rep, they said they would send a part, which I would need to install or call a plumber. The part didnt show, so I called again. This time I was told that they needed to confirm the problem with a local service tech. We are now at 5 days without hot water, and it looks like it is going to be another 3. Dont buy Whirlpool. Lowe’s has tried to help but cant get anything done either.

In April of 2014, we now have a factory defect that has resulted in the entire unit unable to keep the fridge below 70 degrees F. It has been 2 weeks since the fridge died and Whirlpool has informed me it will be another 2 weeks until a replacement fridge will be delivered. I have spoken with countless customer service reps and 2 customer service managers, as well as 1 executive from the executive office in Michigan. Several times Whirlpool has dropped the ball in this process. The original repair appointments were booked and had to be rebooked because the repair company could not accommodate the appointment times Whirlpool booked. It took over a week to get the fridge declared dead. Then another week just to process the request through tech support... After speaking with 2 customer service managers and being told it was being rushed, I spoke with an executive who said the claim had never been submitted and it would take another 24 to 48 hours to process. I spoke with the executive after the 48 hours and he said the fridge will be delivered in 2 weeks! 4 weeks without refrigeration for a second factory defect. I have explained that I have a newborn (6 weeks old when this started) and a 2 year old, and we have had up to 9 people staying in the house (to visit with the baby) over this period and that I need a fridge to keep my breast milk cold. I was told I would receive a $75 gift card and a $125 check to help with food and costs associated with the loss of our fridge... Neither have arrived. We are spending quite a bit on ice just to be able to keep food and milk cold to temp. so we dont have to spend money on eating out (too expensive for us). I am shocked by Whirlpool’s poor customer service. The first time the fridge was replaced I dealt with one person and didnt have to call the customer service line every day. I wish I had her number still.

I have replaced the entire flame/pilot/thermal couple assembly several times. Each time I use the unit, it works for about 2 weeks, then Im back to turning on the pilot light every day. Im convinced that there is an inherent design flaw that Whirlpool should be forced to deal with. It seems that this should be a fraud case to sell a known, documented, defective product. Whirlpool makes a beautiful product that does not last. I bought model WRX988SIBM in April 2015. Two years later the compressor is bad and no warranty coverage. Do not buy this model. It does not carry the Whirlpool 2-5 year sealed refrigeration warranty. Its amazing that an appliance that retails over $3K only comes with a 1 year sealed refrigeration warranty when Whirlpool offers it on other models. Be sure you know what your warranty coverage is before you buy any Whirlpool product.

The saleslady at Home Depot, where it was the least expensive by $283, was very well informed. We went through the specs, colors, types of finishes, etc and picked the perfect one for my wife's needs and wants. The model performs well fully loaded or almost empty. She told a few family members and they went out and bought the same model, or next model up, as we did. To wrap it all up, "Buy this. It performs as well as, if not better, than all the rest."

We are now going back and trying the original part ordered. Not sure if this will fix it this time, as it didnt the first time, but we have no choice. Whirlpool will not stand behind their product and give us a replacement and for good reason, it is obviously junk and we will have the same issues in 5 months. Calling their help line is a waste of time, they understand your frustration but do nothing to help relieve it. Their supervisors have the ability to do nothing and excel at it. Thought this was a good product when we bought it but are now suffering for this decision.

Have checked with a lot of friends of mine with similar models. Nobody is having a problem with especially units hardly one and a half years old. My bro-in-law also bought a Whirlpool a year prior to mine. He is having no problems. See no reason to spend $300-$400 on a comparatively new unit. Also have a 7-month-old stainless steel Whirlpool dishwasher and 4-year-old Gold Accura cooking range. Now spend morning and nights looking at them wondering when they are gonna blow. Need to replace my washer/dryer too but guess which brand I am not opting for.

I pretty sure the Whirlpool is paying people to write positive reviews. Technicians have come and gone telling me that there isnt anything wrong with it. That their diagnostic isnt detecting anything. Well when I call them again I will have the tech wait while I wash my sons sweaty uniform and then they can smell it after it goes through the wash. I called Whirlpool and the repair man replaced the motor. Approximately four months after that, the lid got stuck and the machine would not respond. Same routine as before, but this time the transmission was replaced. While the machine was apart, I noticed the white insulating panel from the bottom was brown in a spot and looked as if it had gotten hot. A month before the 1 year warranty expired, the washer started making an intermittent grinding sound nearly identical to the sound made when the motor went out. This time a different service company was sent out my Whirlpool and the said that nothing was wrong. Now, the machine is out of warranty and has stopped cleaning close and during the spin cycle the you can hear water running into the machine constantly. Last months water bill shows a 40% increase in water consumption when nothing has changed to incur a larger bill. Seeing all these comments makes me wonder why the heck nothing is being done to force recalls on such poor products. Consumers should be treated with a lot more respect than this. I will never recommend a Whirlpool product to anyone I meet. In fact, I will strongly discourage anyone who is contemplating buying a Whirlpool washer machine.

I bought a Whirlpool fridge in June of 2014 and the plastic part of the stainless steel handle that attaches it to the fridge broke about a month or so later. After replacing the fridge because the company said they no longer made the part they gave me a new fridge and with that one the door would not close without leaving a gap of about 1/3rd of an inch open at the hinge side. They took that fridge back and sent me a new fridge. A week later I got in the mail a handle for the first fridge which I no longer had. About a week after that I noticed that the latest and third fridges handle had a crack in the same place. Whirlpool sent me 5 replacement parts and they were all defective with the same crack visible in the replacements. Finally I got a replacement handle that looked good and it broke today, Feb 6th 2016, in the same place as the first one. I should mention that each time the company replaced the fridge it was with a different and better model and each with a slightly different handle. There are other design flaws with the fridge. The door is in a corner and there are cabinets on the wall so the door can only open slightly more than 90 degrees which makes it impossible to open the crisper drawer enough to get a cabbage in it and if I want to clean the crisper drawer I must move and turn the fridge in the kitchen. Also if the crisper drawer is not closed completely it causes the guard rail on the bottom door shelf to fly off sending everything on the bottom shelf to fall to the floor. Fun when some are made of glass and filled with liquid. You would think I would have learned my lesson about this company but no! I went to Lowes and bought a Whirlpool dishwasher and when I saw that the automatic door would not open enough to dispense the soap, powder or packet I called a certified Whirlpool repairman who told me after receiving a duplicate that of course would not work either, that there was no solution to the problem and I went back to Lowes and bought a Samsung and my problems were solved. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER Whirlpool or as I now call it, Whirledpoo, product, EVER.

The only way someone could give this machine a good review is if they work for Whirlpool or they think beating clothes up against a rock in the filthy Ganges River makes them clean.We purchased the HE top loader because we were told that all the problems of the front loaders had been worked out in the new top loaders. What a joke. At least the front loader I had, cleaned the clothes. Since we got the glass top model, I made a movie that shows several items of clothes just sitting on top, not getting wet, not getting moved around, not getting rinsed; therefore, not getting clean.After the wash cycle spins down, the clothes are pinned up against the side and the rinse barely touches them before its final spin. We have several items that had stains left from the soap - yes, we used HE soap, Im not stupid. Never again will I waste my money on a Whirlpool product or anything from Best Buy.

Wouldnt open more than 5 inches on one side and 3 inches on the other. Had service tech out. Cost almost $200. Did not get French doors repaired because the part cost over $125. It is now 2 and half months and 6 technician visits later and the fridge is still not working. The customer service manager, Demetrius, stated the additional service calls are not costing Whirlpool more money because the repair company has 90 days to fix the problem so they are not going to replace the fridge. While this may be fine for Whirlpool it is certainly not good customer service. We were told they cant call the service company to get the details of prior visits and that we need to call the service company as there is nothing Whirlpool customer service can do but schedule technician visits. After a lot of aggravation, losing hundreds of dollars of food and hours on the phone here we are without a working fridge. Buyer beware!

They suggested me to go for the AMC and to be on the safer side, I also took AMC under warranty period only. (AMC card - My cheque dates and service details all are mentioned onto it.) Recently I faced another issue on 26th Feb for which ticket was raised. Engineer visited on 27th Feb and advised us to replace the motor part. On 3rd March they replaced motor mechanism and ball-bearings. Then engineer advised us to check the working by giving a trial wash.I started the machine to wash clothes and after 20 mins machine started making abnormal noise. (I have made video of it, audio of the video captured the noise). I again called up the service engineer immediately and informed him about the voice coming out of machine and he gave a lame answer by saying “It is normal sound”. Then I again called Whirlpool and requested senior engineer visit to resolve the issue. Senior engineer visited and told us that one of motor screw wasn’t tighten properly. It opened while running the machine which completely damaged the motor.After that I am continuously calling to service centre to get the updates on my machine motor replacement. Finally they mentioned that they dont have motor part available with them due to company ceased this model productivity. When I raised this issue with the Whirlpool team they mentioned that they can only pay 40% of the machine value, because I had AMC. However, I did mention that this damage is caused by the negligence of their service engineer, but they didn’t discuss anything about it.When I continuously chased them they dropped me an email to refund only the 40% of the machine value. I feel cheated and harassed!! When I bought the machine they gave us 10 years warranty now they mention that motor is not available as it’s a 5 years old model. My grievance is that since I had already taken the AMC and the damage was also caused by their engineer, why I have to bear the loss. I have already struggled a lot with this machine since last 5 years from the day I bought this machine and now I am losing my hard earned money. Kindly do the needful. I still have to add about 3 to 6 gals of water after it fills to try to help them get as clean as I possible can. I have stopped using fabric softener because I believe that is what may be leaving the stains on the clothes because it doesnt dilute it. Also you cant soak clothes in the washer long enough. I know it offers a presoak but when the clothes are not getting wet... That is not soaking. I tried to fill it up and raise the lid so it wouldnt wash until I was ready for it to wash but it automatically emptied the tub after a short time.It is funny watching the clothes when washing... Even I could tell they were not going to be washed well. I thought who in the world developed this washer. Certainly no one that had ever really considered what women need to wash clothes on a daily basis. I would sell it but I dont think anyone would buy it. If there is a class action suit I would consider joining in. Whirlpool could not have spent much effort in checking this washer out. A lot of money down the drain. I did not buy the dryer because of the lint vent being on top of it. What a mess those make when you have to empty it. So I purchased a Maytag Bravos XL. Now that is a wonderful dryer! As one homemaker to another I suggest you check it out. Never had one I liked more.

So now Im forced to pay for another install. I requested that Whirlpool pay this expense, and their representative, **, said no. I intend to sue them for all monies spent on this lemon and due to this lemon, I will never buy another Whirlpool product of any kind. I have told family and friends and theyve agreed that due to the bad product and worse customer service, they will also stay away from purchasing anything made by this company. Whirlpool certainly wont be hurt by me and me alone. But Ill make sure that anyone I run into at Lowes or anywhere else is even looking at a Whirlpool product will get an earful from me. This is the type of customer service that consumers dont have to put up with anymore. We called the service tech who came in, took the door apart, and replaced the handle, but for some reason, installed different and incorrect screws for the door. Over the next 7 or 8 months, the handle pulled off twice more, and we repeated the cycle. At this point in time, we had been experiencing a situation where the stove would shut itself off. Bear in mind, it is less than 18 months old. Even now, the oven heats, and mid way through cooking anything, it decides to shut itself off. Clearly, there are issues with Whirlpool products, and when I called them, they want to do nothing about it. They jockey me around, from one service person to the next, frustrating me as I have to retell the issues to each new individual, and then they only tell me a replaced board, which would cost more than $600, is the way to go. Ive had this stove for 2 years, and it is seriously the biggest piece of garbage anyone ever put out on the market. Apparently there are no recalls on it, and so apparently, Whirlpool is more interested in ripping off their customers, than standing behind their product. I am currently seeking permission in a local paper to write a public service piece. I hope people will read it, and avoid this company at all costs. I hope whirlpool enjoys it. I dont know how they have turned a blind eye to all these complaints. As far as what I have read, with regards to other whirlpool problems, exploding glass, dangerous fumes, etc. They should be investigated, because what they are pulling off is criminal. If I want someone to steal from me, Ill leave my doors open, and let them come take me for what I have. I dont need to support a company that is stealing from me, while they wear smile on their face.

Today they are saying that it has not been installed correctly and that it should actually sit out from the countertop, i.e. jut out from the rest of the kitchen so that the steam can vent into the room. The panel should also be lower than the other doors of the kitchen cabinetry too. Hardly integrated and would be a bloody eyesore. Less than 6 months after I had been using it, I noticed that all my husband’s shirts were getting sweat stains under the arms and my hand towels were very smelly after drying with them one time. I called Sears to have someone come out and tell us what the problem was. He said I was using too much detergent so I reduced the amount of what I was using. It did not help the problem so I started using the extra rinse each time I washed, still did not fix the problem. I called them out 3 more times in 2011. One tech told me I was still using too much detergent so I reduced down to 1 tablespoon like he suggested. I stopped using softener in my washer because he said I needed to clean my machine more than one time a month, to clean it every 3 weeks. No solution to the problem still. I have had a tech from Sears and one from Whirlpool (who incidentally was the same man, he was from A&E Appliances). When he came in the door, my husband told him he had been here before and I said 2 times. He lied and said he had not been out before. Are we blind? No. He ran the cycle but sat in his truck while he was running it. None of the techs have ever put a tool on the machine to check if the water level is right. They just stand there and tell us to change the amount of detergent or clean the machine with Clorox more often. I cleaned it 8 days in a row and the clothes still smell and still do not get cleaned. We talked to main man at Whirlpool and said they couldnt do anything because their 1 year warranty had run out. We have been using Whirlpool appliances for over 30 years but I will not ever buy another one. I have probably had 5 Whirlpool washers over the years but never had a problem until we got this Cabrio top loader without an agitator. I would not recommend this washer to my worst enemy, if I had one.

(Surprised) They ordered and delivered a new washer 1 month later....same error code. Lets try again with another washer......same error code. How about another one......water would not stop running into the machine because the sensor was broken. Wait we are not done how about another one.....same error code. No I am not kidding, 10 months later 5 washing machines and my tenants have yet to have been able to wash a single load of laundry. I have been reimbursing my tenants every month for not having a washer for the past 10 months. I finally had Sears reimburse for the washer which they will pick up soon. I am out all the interest for the past 10 months for a product never used. To top it all off I called Whirlpool directly to see if they would be willing to at least give me a coupon for any amount toward the purchase of a different washer. They told me quote We dont do anything to compensate our customer for their troubles. That is the icing on the cake folks!!! After the second time with that, I went and bought a new washer - different brand, dials - no touch screen, and it has an agitator. Twice I have slipped, once banged my big toe to the point of cracking my big toenail and bleeding profusely, and the second time I slipped on my butt and really hurt my back. This is of real concern as one of my children has Cerebral Palsy and autism and could really hurt himself in our kitchen. We originally called while it was still under warranty and the technician said that we will need to learn how to defrost the tube that seems to be getting built up with ice. Thats the only way to fix it. We thought it meant fix it for a long period of time. After several months of this re-occurring problem, we realized that this is something you need to do very frequently, meaning several times a week. We have had no help from Whirlpool, they tell us that essentially it is our problem. They didnt even offer to provide parts. They were not interested in our problems and just asked us if we wanted to pay for a service call, and that was it. Now but what kind of service is this?? Clearly, after researching these products, this is a design flaw and a lot of consumers have complained about the the same issues. You would think that Whirlpool would have the decency and the business smarts to create a recall to solve consumers issues.Unfortunately, I am not able to purchase a new unit. This was an expensive purchase as it was… and we have absolutely no resolution to the problem. I have to say that after our injuries in our household, eventually someone will slip and do some serious permanent damage to their body or even worse, fall and sustain a head injury and perhaps even die. And although this may seem like a far fetched comment, it really isnt out of the realm of possibility at all! How long does it take for a manufacturer to respond to a flaw in their design??

This was not an inexpensive machine. However, this washing machine failed to live up to representations and performance is poor. However, biggest complaint is that clothes are able to get stuck between drum and the unique agitating device which results in holes and tears in material. This is a significant design flaw and were not sure why more people dont complain about this rather significant design flaw. Of course, there are other shortcomings... but destruction of clothes is a serious problem. While this machine is in excellent condition, it will be replaced with a more traditional washing machine with vertical agitator ASAP.

However, in September 2014 the water heaters pilot went out and would not re-light, so I contacted Whirlpool about the warranty. It took 4 telephone calls (two of which involved a plumber, per Whirlpools request), and several days of cold showers for an authorization code to purchase a $8 part (thermo coupler). The hassles that Whirlpool put me through, no one should have to endure. Who ever heard of a technician telling you that they have to talk to the plumber, when you call them to explain a problem with your water heater, such as, the pilot will not stay lit and the plumber said it is the coupler (I couldnt remember the whole name of the part, but surely they should have understood what was wrong). Secondly, providing a plumber (unless youre married to one) to converse with them involves more money. Now I have a plumber at my house so I call Whirlpool and this technician insists that the plumber perform a test on thermo coupler to make sure that it was faulty before she gave the authorization for a new one. Yet again, when I called to Whirlpool with the plumber, while I was voicing my problems in resolving the issue of my water heater with this technician, and she just hung-up on me. So as not to be defeated and having already invested in the expense of the plumber, I called Whirlpool again and requested a manager. The technician asked if she could help and I informed her of my previous encounters. She apologized and took my information to have a manager to call me later; however, she did give me the authorization code for the thermo coupler without delay. When I went to purchase the part, I didnt have the old part (as trade; the plumber hadnt removed it), so I paid for it out-of pocket, to return the old part later.

Absolutely not especially for the money spent.The machine wrinkles clothes like I have never see before. The dryer usually gets them out but not always. They are mangled after washing. Using the first or second spin speed helps reduce some but they are wetter going into the dryer that way. If I wash bed clothes, the tight fitting sheet that fits snugly around the mattress must be washed alone. If not, all the other items end up encased in it as if youve intentionally packed it that way to carry everything around. This leaves everything absolutely soaked. I have also had shirts come out with dry spots on them. How does a piece of clothing come out of a washer with more than one dry spot on it? And no I did not over pack the machine.I have had no problems with the dryer. It does its job so no complaints on that. I would not recommend the Whirlpool Cabrio to my worst enemy. Complete waste of time, money, and water!!! Very disappointed and will never buy from this company again and will prevent anyone else from doing so the rest of my life. Did the company do zero testing on this machine before selling it? Because I see a lot of repetitive reviews. Or the company was well aware and did not care and just wanted to make money? I used an HE detergent, reduced the detergent and put the dark clothes through an extra rinse and still find residue that has to be scraped off. I called Whirlpool on Dec. 19th, 2018 to complain about this and was told there was no history reported of this kind of problem. Then I went on the ConsumerAffairs website to learn that many others have the same residue issue, among many other products. I will not ever purchase a Whirlpool machine of any kind again.

The parts are under warranty but you still pay labor and technician visit running up to $250-$300. The plastic tub was obtained only if we paid for it $100 and the steel drum they sent under warranty. The plastic tub has a hole with a black plug and sensor in it. There is a discrepancy in the measurement of the old tub and new tubs hole that is slightly larger, therefore when installed a steady stream of water leaks out. I now have 3 plastic tubs as that was their solution, to send more of the same that did not measure correctly. An investigation was done to determine they were the correct parts. As asked we had a whirlpool technician come to verify parts were correct and being installed correctly and the parts sent would not fix the machine due to the hole discrepancy. Many calls were made to whirlpool and they continue to give me the runaround. They now are not taking their technicians information. The technician has given the information to 3 sales reps in the new england area and made several phone calls to whirlpool and no one is willing to give us a solution.

Had to wait another 4 days for someone to come out. So tomorrow is the day. We shall see will it be another compressor and another week to put it in? I never heard of any company stretching a repair over a months time. I am so angry with Whirlpool, Assurant and A&E repair company; you just dont know. I would not recommend buying or going through these companies. This is very unprofessional.

There certainly has never been any abuse to this product (not to mention we spend half our year at a winter home so this microwave only is used for 6 months a year). I contacted Whirlpool customer service about the reliability of this product and their response was that it is now not under warranty and we should deal with our local store about repairs. I have a small Sharp microwave sitting on the counter below this crappy excuse for one that stays there all the time in anticipation on the Whirlpool going down!!! The $60.00 Sharp never fails me!! This was our 2nd time around purchasing all Whirlpool products for our house. We did the same thing when we built back in 1990. All appliances performed as they should have back then. It seems Whirlpool integrity has gone downhill. I will never buy another Whirlpool product nor I will recommend to anyone I know to do the same. Good luck to anyone who purchased one of these.

I purchased a new gas water heater from Lowes and paid a plumber to install it. I have been having problems with it staying lit. Once I noticed the issue, I notified my plumber and the plumber was aware of this on-going issue with these water heaters. The plumber told me to call Whirlpool and have them send me a new thermocouple. Ive been putting it off until now, but realized today over the phone with Whirlpool Customer Service that the problem is with the vent. The manual that came with the water heater has a horizontal venting installation, yet Whirlpool claims that it should be vented through to the roof and they sent me, via email, the correct manual. When I asked Whirlpool how the plumber was supposed to know, she said that he should have known that it was not the correct manual (even though there is no model number written anywhere in the instructions manual) and that we should call to make sure that we have the right manual before installing my next product. So, I need to double check every purchase I make! Or is this only with Whirlpool products? After speaking with two different Whirlpool reps, I have concluded that I need to purchase a new water heater, but believe me, it will not be another Whirlpool!

Talked to tech & checked the manual for testing the thermocouple on my natural gas water heater. Everything checked out fine but pilot wouldnt stay lit. Tested thermal switch.... everything. They said replace the valve/thermostat. Still no dice. Turns out the thermocouple was cracked on the inside near the burner assembly & would give passing readings on the voltmeter 9 out of 10 times. If you have any pilot problems, replace the thermocouple first. Was only 10 bucks. I keep a spare now. Dont forget to vacuum any dust from the fine mesh screen on the very bottom. Fresh air supply.

Since 10 days I am calling hundreds of Whirlpool persons including Area manager, ware house, customer service, nobody is giving any date when I will be getting it. Moreover, they have stopped taking my call recently. Right now, I am at a loss how can I get a refrigerator or my money back... Last option is consumer forum. I really request you to never buy a Whirlpool refrigerator.

This is not a new washer (Whirlpool Cabrio INTW6200VWO) and it works well BUT since we have owned it we have had rust at the bleach dispenser. I am seeing on the internet there are many complaints about this and there was a recall? But they have run out of replacement parts??? Never received any recall notice. We have online instructions on how to repair and have done this many times and the rust comes back. About a week ago we sanded, primed and enamel painted the area plus I have put NO BLEACH in the dispenser and the rust is coming back. I hate to replace a working machine but this rust can and will get on my clothing. Whirlpool was the absolutely best in the past but this one is a lemon.

We bought our house in December 2010 and the water heater (fg1f4034t3NOV) just started to give me fits. I had the same pilot light problems everyone else encountered. The person at the 877-251-1679 number gave me a good tip and that may have fixed the problem in the short-term. They told me theres a screen for venting on the bottom of the unit and to use a bottle brush after turning off the unit to clean the screen. I did this yesterday and the pilot light has stayed lit. I called the toll-free number and was told the water heater was out of warranty, but they could send me the part to fix the heater at half-price. I ordered it and they waived ground shipping. I hope to have the situation fixed soon. I’m very pleased with the level of service.

Updated on 03/15/2020: We bought this eight years ago to replace a 20-year-old Maytag that had finally developed a rust-related leak after serving us faithfully and needing only one almost trivial repair ($10 DIY lid switch replacement) over that period. I have replaced the water pump, the gear case, rotating seal (3 times), the lid switch striker (3 times), and the replacement gear case is making noises indicating incipient bearing failure. In its finite wisdom, Whirlpool decided to make the failure-prone main bearing irreplaceable, which means you have to replace the entire gear case, at a best-case cost of $120 and a worst-case cost of $300, plus labor, unless you do the work yourself, as I do. The secondary issue is mold and a musty odor. The most effective way to eliminate this is to pull the drum (non-trivial, requires a car jack, a 2x4, and a special spanner/wrench) and swab down the inside of the tub with disinfectant. (Been there ... done that three times over 8 years.)Original Review: I am in the process of replacing the bottom seal on my 6-year-old Whirlpool Cabrio (WTW5500XW2) washer. This will be the fourth major repair I have done on it. Fortunately, I can do the work myself and know how to find the best price on parts, but it is still discouraging that a lightly-used washer would have so many problems in such as short time. (It replaced a 20-year-old Maytag that finally rusted out.) Repairs to date: 1) replaced drain pump motor; 2) replaced lid switch; 3) removed basket twice to clean outer tub, due to mold and odors; 4) replaced suspension rods due to excessive spin vibration; 5) out of commission awaiting a new bottom seal. Total cost of parts (labor was on me) is well over $100.
