Product Reviews:

They really dont make them like they use to, do they? This Whirlpool Cabrio
They really dont make them like they use to, do they? This Whirlpool Cabrio aka Caprio has given us problems for the past 3 years, weve owned it for 5 years. It doesnt matter how much, or how little clothing you put in this washer machine. It will start going NUTS, Thudding, Banging against the inside of itself, completely out of whack, and then it will show a UL where the time is shown. Every time we do laundry this happens, and we have to stick our hands in the hot water and reorganize the clothes, and pull more and more clothes out till theres only about 3 items of clothing left! This washer is GARBAGE! I advise people to keep away from it. The washer we had in the past lasted us years upon years. These washers of now in days are Crap Garbage. Keep the fancy tech look, and give me the old fashion Knobs ANY DAY! Whirlpool brand is Not what it once was.

I have had my washer dryer set for only 3 years and have all the problems that have already been posted. Whirlpool has no recall on this washer (Cabrio) and does not plan on helping out anybody in any way. Their solution is pay for everything out of pocket or buy their one year warranty for ironically the price of what a new motor, and any of the other common items that are breaking would cost. And this is only good for ONE year. With the history of this company I would expect this to last at least ten years or longer before we start discussing replacing anything. I also had a Maytag that I had a problem with and did not get anywhere with that either. Whirlpool/Maytag, you need to stand behind your product. Your name is not going to get you anywhere nowadays. This blog has a spot about legal representation. If you can help me, please contact me.

Whirlpool Cabrio Top Load Washer Model: WTW7800XWO purchased at Lowes 8/26/2010. The lid was broken at the hinge in less than a year and was replaced under factory warranty. Lid falls down and pinches fingers. The second lid broke in the same location in less than a year. Lid falls down and strikes the eye. I’m speaking with repair technicians and researching complaints on this product. It appears to be a design defect that is not being addressed by the manufacturer.

Fridge residue - ED5FVGXWS07: Well, I gave it a long time and this is how they make Whirlpool refrigerators! I had a GE for 20 years and was so looking forward to this new one. What idiot designs a fridge that leaves water stains like this? And, the water falls onto the floor when refilling a water bottle plus there is no catch for the water. Argh! I really dont want to live with this for 20 years! Their resolution was to get a water softener; really?! It has a filter built in. They refused to replace the fridge.

I purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio Washer in May of 2009. I do laundry for only 3 adults, so I never run more than 3-4 loads a week. It constantly is off-balance when spinning and requires positioning the load again several times before it will continue its cycle. Now 5 to 8 minutes into it filling with water, it stops filling and beeps, and code F shows up on the screen. Also, during the spin cycles, it is very loud and fast. It sounds like it is about to take off anytime. I called customer service to no avail. They just wanted me to schedule a repairman to come out and fix it at my expense. Now, I know why they only give a one-year warranty - they know it will last one year but not much longer. Im from a generation of people that is used to appliances lasting 10 - 14 years and the company stood behind their products and didnt ask you to buy an expensive extended warranty for the 2nd year and so on. If inferior products were not manufactured, there would be no need for an extended warranty. Anyway, Im not going to put any money (I was quoted a $129 charge by Whirlpools service department just for the diagnosis of the problem which didnt include the labor or parts costs.) into a washer that will probably continue to have problems and become a money pit. Consequently, I will never buy nor recommend anyone buy Whirlpool appliances. It would get quite expensive buying a new washer every 3 years or buying the extended warranty plan. The matching dryer had no major problems, but a couple of years ago, I had to have the door changed from opening from right to left to opening from left to right because the door catch broke on the right side. Hopefully, nothing else will go wrong with it in the near future.

Whirlpool Cabrio - This expensive machine should be called the Presidential
Whirlpool Cabrio - This expensive machine should be called the Presidential. First it spins, spins, spins. It sprays tiny amounts of water, so little, that there is 2 inches or less. There isnt enough water to cover the clothes so no agitator to stir and mix them. There are ridges on the bottom of the tub called aggrivators to twist everything into pretzels. This twisting spreads the dirt around, but does NOT remove it, the utter lack of water giving it no where to go. I use a hose to add extra water, and I hand soap dirty spots. I stop the washer frequently to hand rub and slop the clothes around and un-twist them. Explain to me how running this machine 3 times plus adding water saves water and energy. I cant, in good conscience, sell this POS to someone else, and I cant afford something else. I sure miss my simple reliable old Maytag. I could say even more about this atrocity, but not now. I HATE THIS POS!

My whirlpool Cabrio washer top load had the rust problems, bearing problems
My whirlpool Cabrio washer top load had the rust problems, bearing problems, support arms replaced along with the complete drive assembly motor bearings and all the parts. My bearings have failed 3 times since 2009. This machine is junk. Customer service at Whirlpool is a joke. They treat you as if you have had to do something wrong. Finally I spoke with a salesman who said speak with the warranty company. I have the extended warranty which I advise everyone who purchases an appliance to get one. So I spoke with them and they sent me a check for a new machine. I must say our warranty company has been very helpful. So THIS IS MY WARNING TO ALL. PLEASE DO NOT BUY FROM WHIRLPOOL. IF YOU DO YOU DESERVE WHAT YOU GET, SORRY TO SAY... Have a great day.

I have bought Whirlpool washer (small size) and dryer less than 2 years ago. The washer started to develop an error f6, as it shown. Finally, machine could not work as far as warranty was expired. The Sears technician made very quick overlook and told that probably engine was gone and advised to buy a new machine, as repairing parts are not available in Canada. He charged me 96 dollars for that.

When we bought our side by side fridge (model GD5RVAXVB02), the manual said to clean the condenser coils if you have excess dust and/or pet hair. We have both. We tried with the vacuum and with a brush but it is impossible to get to the coils because they run side to side instead of front to back. You can only get to the first coil in front. The rest cant be accessed from the front, sides or back. I called to find out how Whirlpool recommended they be cleaned and they could only recommend a vacuum attachment tool (8171579A) to clean the floor below the coils or a coil brush (4210463RW) that cant reach the coils! This design is meant to fail prematurely. They could have easily installed the coils running front to back so they could all be easily cleaned.

Please DO NOT purchase an appliance with Whirlpool. I have had my double oven WiFi for 7 months. It has worked great. They did a update on it and I have had an hour glass for 2 1/2 weeks but the crazy part was they sent me a part, had it expedited 2 day shipping on a Friday and I didn’t get till Thursday of the next week. Go figure. So they send a new part and guess what? It’s broken and my oven doesn’t work once again. The other part is they have to wait for the code on the error 3-5 days. One we are going on week 3 with no oven and at this point I call and tell them my husband can run to Lowe’s and take a control panel off a new stove and put it on or better yet something is wrong with this oven. I need another oven because at this point I’m extremely pissed. Please DO NOT buy any products with this company. They SUCK!!!! They should replace it and pay me for all the meals I have had to buy.

I purchased a 50 gallon Whirlpool water heater, model FG1J5040T3, in November, 2005, and have had the same experience as reported by the hundreds of others, whose comments I have been reading. Basically, pilot wont stay lit. I called Whirlpool, relight the heater, when it doesnt relight, wait to receive repair parts, call a plumber, and pay to have them install it, then repeat same problems. Each time going for a week or so, without hot water. After relighting the heater 10 times in the past year, and service calls, Whirlpool authorized me yesterday to return it to Lowes, and get a replacement. I need to hire a plumber to unhook it, haul it to Lowes, get the new one, and install it. It cost me about $300 to $400. Will the replacement be any better? I am considering just replacing the heater with one made by Rheem.

I am writing to you all today to urge you to not purchase Whirlpool product
I am writing to you all today to urge you to not purchase Whirlpool products specifically Whirlpool 2-cu ft High-Efficiency Front-Load Washer. I purchased a front loader washing machine for our tenants through Sears back in June of 2013. When it was hooked up it had an error code on it so we contacted Sears and 3 weeks later they sent out a repairman telling us it needed a new motor (this machine had not even washed 1 load of laundry). They ordered the part and Sears paid 1200 to replace a part on an 800.00 washer.....yeah I know dumb right. Well the part replacement did not work. (Surprised) They ordered and delivered a new washer 1 month later....same error code. Lets try again with another washer......same error code. How about another one......water would not stop running into the machine because the sensor was broken. Wait we are not done how about another one.....same error code. No I am not kidding, 10 months later 5 washing machines and my tenants have yet to have been able to wash a single load of laundry. I have been reimbursing my tenants every month for not having a washer for the past 10 months. I finally had Sears reimburse for the washer which they will pick up soon. I am out all the interest for the past 10 months for a product never used. To top it all off I called Whirlpool directly to see if they would be willing to at least give me a coupon for any amount toward the purchase of a different washer. They told me quote We dont do anything to compensate our customer for their troubles. That is the icing on the cake folks!!! I will never purchase another Whirlpool product and I encourage you all to not as well. I want to show them how not caring for their customers can impact them. Please share if you can, but more importantly please pass the word!!!!!

I rent a condo unit and hardly use the microwave. It is nice to have. Never had one over the stove and it came with the unit, so I gave mine away. After living here for 3 years I am now moving to another city 5 hours away. I noticed the other day when I went to melt butter for popcorn, the door crack, which I noticed the second year we lived here, has gotten worse. Not just worse, but the handle looks like one pull and its completely broken. My landlord expects us to pay for this. I am reading and I see that its from the heat from the stove, which is also a Whirlpool product, is to blame, not the user. How is this right, how is this fair?? When we move we will have to buy a new microwave, that will sit once again on my beautiful microwave cabinet and I promise, it WILL NOT be a Whirlpool!!!

The control panel is difficult to use. It’s much too easy to switch power from the top oven to the bottom oven without knowing it. In addition, the plastic cover over the control panel makes it difficult to use especially if your fingers have flour or oil on them. It would be much easier and more accurate if knobs were used to control the all the functions instead of a electronic screen. Also, the clock has never operated accurately. Always runs fast. Temperature of the ovens is pretty accurate. However, it does take a long time to reach chosen temperature. Both ovens are large and able to handle an 18 inch round pizza dish. Other than the control panel, I’m pleased with both the gas stove top and both electric ovens.

We purchased our side by side refrigerator from Lowes. When it was delivered, we noticed the freezer door was rubbing on the ice maker and would not close properly. The refrigerator was replaced. Then about 10 months later, the water dispenser stopped working. Service came out and said the water line had ice in it (we do not keep the freezer on high). They replaced the water line in the door. About 6 months later, after the unit was out of warranty, the same thing happened. We called Whirlpool and they said there was nothing they could do, because the unit was out of warranty. I cleaned out the water line tubing myself and the unit worked again, but the problem occurred again several months later and it does not seem right that the water dispenser line should keep freezing up. In addition, every two months we have to take the ice maker apart because the ice will no longer dispense because of an ice buildup in the ice cube container. We used to think that Whirlpool made reliable products, but with these problems and Whirlpools unwillingness to correct the problem, we will never buy their products again. They have lost a long time customer because of their products now and their customer support.

Purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator July 29, 2015. Our first service call was August 4, 2015. The units freezer was frosting over, the basket rails were covered in frost, which made it hard to open. Items in freezer containers were covered in frost and labels unreadable. The interior light was frozen shut. Since the first service call we have had 8 service calls with multiple appliance dealers. No one can fix the frost issue. It just keeps recurring. Whirlpool did step up and extend our warranty for another year. In order to schedule a repair we have to call Whirlpool, a 45 minute phone call for an appliance company not of our choice to make the service call. The unit has been removed from our home for repair in dealers shop. Very inconvenient for us to have no refrigerator. Whirlpool has refused to replace the unit, choosing instead to patch-patch-patch one service call at a time. Whirlpool has enjoyed years of an excellent reputation. We are very disappointed. This is no longer true.

I would like to share whirlpools lack of ownership for parts they knew were faulty that caused significant damage to my floor. Its absolutely horrendous that one would purchase the highest end dishwasher they offer (all highest end appliances in 3 homes so far) and the company is only willing to cover the replacement of the part. Its a horrible way to run a company. I hope that my review will warn prospective customers to stay away from a company who is only willing to take your cash at purchase (charging an arm and a leg no less) and not care about any repercussions after the fact. I hope they enjoy our 15k, because it will be the last penny they get from us.

I recently purchased a Whirlpool Gold Edition double range. After a couple of uses, the top oven thermostat went on the blink. I sat the thermostat to preheat. After 20 mins. and a call to the warranty department, the oven never reached the desired temperature. The warranty department sent a repair person who could find nothing wrong with the stove. I called Lowes and told them I couldnt trust the oven not to do it again (after several times of it happening and resetting the circuit breaker). This would be a disaster if it happened during the holidays when I cook for 20 or more people. Lowes manager said they wanted me to feel comfortable so they replaced the entire range. GUESS WHAT... 2 weeks after having the new one... same problem. I set the thermostat to 400 degrees and when it got to 390, I saw the light blinking. Waiting 10 more mins, nothing changed. I hit the cancel button, reset the bake... the thermostat, when I turned it back on, showed 365... What the heck! I didnt open the oven door. Whirlpool ranges are a piece of crap. I am calling Lowes again tomorrow to return and advise them to stop selling the junk. Dont blame Lowes... They do the best they can with the crap they sell.

I purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator from Gerhard’s Appliance, Glenside, PA on 12/15/2011.There have been problems with the unit since it was delivered on 12/19/2011. The doors were not the same height. There were stains (which looked like rust) on both doors. A shelf on the door and one in the fridge were missing. One of the deliverymen adjusted the door height then, and the door has been creaking on opening/closing since. That door has been replaced, but the problem continues. The freezer (which has an icemaker/water dispenser built in) started to produce ice on the inside of the unit door and on the wall surfaces. Attempts made to rectify the problem were unsuccessful. A new freezer door was ordered. After the door replacement, the frost problem got worse. I can fax you a copy of all service contacts so far (at least 7). Please help me replace this lemon.

Less than a year of ownership, the ice maker on the side by side fridge broke after normal use. Not having proof of purchase, I appealed to Whirlpool given the nature of my situation. They did NOTHING but try and sell me a new service agreement they offer to have it fixed. They cared little about my brand loyalty, situation or circumstances - all they wanted was to make more money off of the consumer. We bought all Whirlpool Gold Appliances when we re-did our kitchen 5 years
We bought all Whirlpool Gold Appliances when we re-did our kitchen 5 years ago -- fridge, d. washer, oven, glass top stove, and microwave. Recently I noticed a pool of water in front of the fridge. Turns out there is a sticky grommet problem that prevents moisture from draining into a pan on the inside back bottom of the fridge. Whirlpool will send you a replacement part that is totally different than the original poor design (a long hose affair) BUT wont pay for the labor to put it in unless the unit is less than 2 years old.I watched a video showing how to do it, but it looks pretty tricky and involved plus risky because you can break the drain pan in the process. Spoke with a Whirlpool rep and a supervisor -- both admitted to a quality problem but got nowhere on the labor. Theyre sending the part, and the supervisors supervisor is supposed to give me a call, so well see if they eventually do the right thing and cover the labor. I mean cmon... the parts obvious a bad design, or they wouldnt be sending a totally redesigned part! Covering the labor only if its two years old or less? Even the Whirlpool techs online are saying the problem happens after about 4 years! The grommet gets sticky and wont drain due to heat from the compressor, and that takes time to happen. Ill update this when I hear back from Whirlpool.

I purchased a Whirlpool fridge in September of 2015. In March of 2016 I noticed the Fridge portion was getting too cold. By April 2016 the freezer stopped freezing and fridge started warming up. I reported the issue to Whirlpool and made an appointment. The day of the appointment the first company called and their tech couldnt make it because of a family emergency. They sent another company out instead. That company diagnosed the issue as a faulty chiller and ordered the part and told me they would be in touch. A week goes by with no working fridge and I call them. They say it will be another week for the parts. Two weeks go by - no call. I call them and they say they have the parts and I make an appointment. The day of the appointment I call them to find out what time they will be out and they tell me they dont have all the parts. And when I mention that I have been without a fridge and that I am frustrated that they arent calling me and that I am having to call them back the lady starts yelling at me asking me if I want to cancel my appointment. So I call Whirlpool and ask for another company. They send a company out that is not trained to be working on a sealed unit. So I call Whirlpool back again and they send an in house tech out three days later. This is over about a month without a fridge at this point. Their tech simply recharges the system and says that it should be fine.A week later the freezer stops freezing and the fridge warms up to the point that both are not usable. The tech comes out and diagnoses that there it is most likely the chiller because of a build up of frost in the freezer. Orders the part and a week and a bit later I call Whirlpool up to get an ETA on the parts. They say they have the parts now (no call??) and they schedule an appointment. The tech comes out and puts the part in almost a week later (2 months now) and says that it is still building up frost in an area that it shouldnt and calls tech support back and forth for the next two hours. He leaves saying give it some time to see if it works, but admits to me that it is likely it is leaking in an area that he cant access. So I call up Whirlpool and explain the situation and ask for a new Fridge. It has been two months and the tech by his own admission could not say he fixed the problem and thought the problem maybe somewhere else. After looking at my case and me being on hold back and forth for about a half hour the supervisor says that at this time I need to wait to see if it fails again. And that if it does I need to have a tech back on site to verify. So this will be the seventh time I took time off work, it will be the fourth time the fridge fails and that I will have to throw out groceries. When is enough enough. I am into this now for almost double what the fridge is worth in lost wages and groceries.Do yourself a favour and stay away from Whirlpool!!! If I have to guess the following will happen: five days from now the fridge will stop working again (when the Freon leaks out - same timeline as previously) and then I have to call for a tech (3-4 days) and the tech will come out, determine that it isnt working. I have another conversation with a supervisor asking for a new fridge and they miraculously agree (yeah I know). Then what two weeks, a month... before I get a new fridge. I anticipate that I will have been without a fridge for 3 months before it is all resolved. Ridiculous is all I can say. Whirlpool should be embarrassed.

I just purchased a new Whirlpool 6th Sense hot water tank #333570. This unit is a piece of garbage. Whirlpool should be ashamed at the quality of product they make. This unit came with a bent temperature and pressure relief valve, which required a piece of copper tubing to be bent awkwardly just to remedy the situation. Also, the control box is set at 12 (most other brands are 14, which is common), forcing the gas lines to be re-piped (very expensive). This unit also is extremely noisy, runs really, really hot and is not energy-efficient at all. Shame on me for not researching this product more closely. If youre buying a new hot water tank, steer clear of Whirlpool products.

The damn thing will refill its tub with rinse water to redistribute load so as to get a spin out. SOMETIME month ago, thing just dies... nothing. Technician comes out for two hours its the shift sensor. Replace for 200+ bucks... done. Works for three weeks, dies, tech is back. 4 hrs... its a bad processor board. Ordered 140$ rebuild, comes in mail few days later. Tech is back, replaces board. We have smoke!! Looks like a bad motor part. I could go on... but why. Never ever buy one of these sorry pieces of dreck. Absolutely the worst. Poor quality even when it works. Horrible wash quality. Never again Cabrio. Remember it.

Whirlpool is an absolutely terrible company. I bought a stove and a microwave. The stoves lower drawer would fall off its track every time I opened it because it only had a single track at the front instead of one that went to the back to keep it stable. It scratched my baseboards horribly and was a huge pain. When I called to complain, they said they had no record of such a problem and were completely useless, despite the fact that the store I got it from acknowledged having the same problem and said that Whirlpool came out to fix it for them. Maybe Whirlpool only helps corporate customers so they can keep fooling people into buying their unbelievably ** products. The plastic casing around the microwave door handles started cracking (first the bottom cracked and a large piece fell off and now the second is cracking). I called to complain and was informed that because this was happening over a year after purchase (the microwave is 1 year and 2 months old) they couldnt do anything about it. The last time I checked, appliances are meant to last longer than a year before they literally fall apart. What a joke. I will never buy Whirlpool again and I will make a point of telling every single person I ever know whos buying a home to avoid their products as well. What an epic fail.

We bought this washing machine from Lowes 5/15 and from the beginning have noticed that clothes especially dark fabrics come out of the washer with white fuzz or sediment on them. They need to be washed again and the fuzz isnt removed with a lint brush. I called whirlpool and they told me to use fabric softener. I dont like adding chemicals to my wash due to a skin condition. Lowes say they have never heard this complaint but clearly others have experienced this problem from the above reviews. Dont buy this washer. It doesnt clean your clothes. The only thing the customer representatives from Whirlpool wanted was to sell me an extended warranty. Why would I want that when the washer doesnt even clean clothes?

We called Lowes to purchase the parts, but they do not sell the parts. There was a nine year warranty. Our last water heater lasted about 11 years. Its such a shame that this one is giving us problems just after 3 years. Im really considering just buying another one. I dont want to continue struggling with this one. Its been a bad purchase and coming to find out that Im not the only one with this problem. If its a defect Whirlpool should at least replace them for the inconvenience. They should take responsibility for selling defective products.

I live in Florida and in December 2012, purchased a Whirlpool upright freez
I live in Florida and in December 2012, purchased a Whirlpool upright freezer from my local Badcocks. About two months after the purchase it started making this weird loud sound. I contacted Whirlpool and they sent a local appliance company technician out to check it. The technician ripped my brand new Linoleum floor when pulling out the freezer. The result was, in his opinion, nothing was wrong with it, that the loud sound was normal. As it continued, another tech came out and his opinion was it needed a new compressor. So, it was replaced and lasted about a month. I was getting something out for dinner and noticed everything in my freezer was unthawed... all that money wasted a freezer full of food gone. So, Whirlpool once again sent the same appliance company out but a different technician. This one said it that he needed to order parts which he did, a different tech came out to install the parts and told us he didnt know what they were for and our freezer didnt need the parts the previous tech ordered. So this tech put dye in the lines and left. The dye leaked out from under my freezer all over the floor which is now stained because of the dye that leaked. This is the brand new floor they had already ripped during the first service call. So, now not only is my floor ripped but stained as well.Once again, about a month later, I find my freezer full of meat unthawed a third time. Once again I called and find out they have dropped the contract with the company that came out the first two times. So they refer me to another local appliance repair, and this new tech says that it needs a new compressor. This will be the second new one in less than 6 months. They order that part and repair the freezer; this fix lasted for about three months this time. On my fourth call to Whirlpool, I expressed my frustration with losing my food and the hassle of an inferior product purchased brand new under warranty. I definitely was not satisfied with the service and the customer service representative could not find my warranty record. He was also very rude and when he finally found my record, he told me I was no longer under Whirlpool warranty. This was wrong as I have my paperwork showing date of purchase AND the four-year extended warranty we purchased as well. I asked him what they would do for me since their inferior appliance and incompetent repair technicians cost me hundreds of dollars of ruined meat and other frozen food. He said they would do nothing except have another repair tech come out. Until the freezer is determined to be unrepairable that is all they can do.So I scheduled the tech to come out the fourth time and he found that some untrained tech had put oil in the line and the lines and compressor has to be replaced and flushed. I have already not had a freezer for a week waiting for tech to come out and now the parts are put on back order for another three weeks. The fourth repair tech called Whirlpool from my home, while I was standing there, and told them that it basically is beyond repair because of the price of parts and labor. He told Whirlpool it would be cheaper to replace the freezer but Whirlpool told the tech to replace the lines and compressor and flush everything out. So three weeks later, he comes back out on 10/13/2013 to make the repairs. I bought this freezer in December 2012 for $1200 and have been dealing with issues on and off since Feb. 2013 and now its 11/29/13 and once again my freezer has stopped working. I have lost all my food because Whirlpool sold me a defective appliance and would not make it right. I have asked them to replace it and they wouldnt. My husband and I have just purchased our second house and we were very excited about the remodel coming up in the kitchen. We were going to purchase stainless steel Whirlpool appliances, but after this company has treated me so badly, I will not buy anything with the Whirlpool name for our stove, dishwasher, microwave and refrigerator. We probably would have spent about $3500 on appliances, but we will purchase a different brand and give our $3500 to a company that will treat me better as a customer .I used to have trust in this company because it is well known for quality products, but I dont trust them anymore. I will advise any of my loved ones and friends not to purchase any Whirlpool appliance because of the inferior quality and lack of interest in making this situation right. I tried for almost a year and gave them 5 opportunities to do the right thing and now Im done. They dont care about the customer and that is a shame because they have lost a valued customer. As of now I have another tech coming Tuesday b/c my freezer is sitting not running again. Model #EV201NZTQ02.

My husband and I purchased a Whirlpool Refrigerator, model number GI6SARXXF
My husband and I purchased a Whirlpool Refrigerator, model number GI6SARXXF04, serial number K20311478 on February 3, 2012. It was delivered soon after. In April of 2012 our ice maker quit working. We called The Appliance Doctor for service. They reset the control, and left saying that they thought it was fixed. The ice maker as a result was not fixed. They came out again, and stated that the ice maker needed to be replaced altogether. So they ordered the part and we waited for two weeks for it to arrive and be installed. By this time it was April 23, 2012.Then in June of 2013 we began having water pool in the bottom of the refrigerator and freeze, and water began to leak onto our hardwood floors causing them to buckle. We cleaned it up for a while thinking perhaps something had spilled, and busted up the ice on our own. The beginning of 2014 we called for service from Lanny Adams Appliance. The technician worked on it and stated that something was plugged up in the water line and he thought it was fixed, we paid for this service on our own. On August 14, 2014 we had another technician come out because it was not fixed. The technician came out and stated that it would cost another $219.95. He further stated that he thought that there was a recall of some kind, that I should look into it. I did look into it and printed out the Technical Service Pointer that was produced in November of 2013. When I called Whirlpool at that point, someone was sent to fix it. Of course I had already paid to have it repaired in February of 2014, Whirlpool stated that it was not their responsibility, which again it was not fixed until August of 2014. As a further note, my floors were never fixed because I have hardwood floors throughout my house and simply cannot fix the area in front of the refrigerator. My floor had just been refinished, and after speaking with the floor company that had just refinished my floors a few months earlier, they stated all of the floors would have to be redone or it would not match. Figuring Whirlpool is definitely not going to pay for that, I have just dealt with it, since it cost me over $3000.00 to have the floors refinished. Now, it is February of 2015 and the whole refrigerator is not cooling, and the freezer is not freezing. Again, I woke up to water in the floor on my hardwood floors, and have had to move all of my food to my ten year old Frigidaire refrigerator that is in my basement and has NEVER had a service call. After speaking with service company, they state it will cost $1200.00 to fix the refrigerator....REALLY? So, now I get to go spend a lot more money for a new appliance. You can bet it WILL NOT be a Whirlpool!I contacted Whirlpool again, and I spoke with Robin in your Customer Service Department after speaking with one of your Customer Service Representatives that stated I was basically on my own with the repairs. Robin stated that there was nothing Whirlpool would do, but she would agree to pay for parts and I will be left with the repair labor. Although your company may think that this is good customer service, I have to disagree given the fact that I have had nothing but consistent problems with the refrigerator since I bought it. At this point, I would like to ask you if in your opinion this is a good appliance? I asked Robin and she stated that I needed to buy an extended warranty. Dont you realize it isnt about the warranty? It is about the fact that I have had the appliance for 3 years and have had consistent problems. I believe the refrigerator is a lemon, and I would like it replaced.I have always trusted the Whirlpool name, but at this point, I do not see myself buying another Whirlpool appliance.

Absolute junk. Bought an entire matching set 2 years ago. Fridge, microwave, dishwasher and oven. Oven is the most user unfriendly thing I have ever bought. That’s my fault. Microwave failed. 300 to replace. Ice maker in side by side fridge failed, another 300 dollar fix. I used to have a field mouse or two get into the house every year. Don’t have that problem anymore because the fridge is so loud it scares them off. Talking to Customer service was the most frustrating thing of all. They think if they say your name in a nice soft tone long enough it will make everything ok. Mother and father raved about Whirlpool products. How times have changed. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of these products. Also, look up the other brand names made in the same factory and steer clear of those as well. I used to think appliances were all the same. How wrong I was. Do your research. It will save you a bundle in the long run.

However, my second water heater did the same exact thing in a different location on the tank after 2 1/2 years. The tech came and said we needed a new control panel. We waited 3 weeks for the panel. He came on 3-24-17. He put the part in. Took less than 10 min and said, All set. I went downstairs and put a few things in. I was a bit leery and the machine started. I went back upstairs and I hear beeping. I go back down and the machine is flashing again. I called the repair people they said, Unplug it for 10 min. It may reset itself. If it doesnt, call back. It didnt. I called back and wanted me to wait till the following week. I told her I had clothes in there.Someone came the next morning and said it needed a harness and they would order it. Well its the 28th and I havent heard anything. I have called whirlpool several times with no satisfaction. We had the machine less than a year and its been dead for 2 months. I am disabled. I have multiple sclerosis so every day is a new issue. I dont know the model you have but this exactly what I just had happen in May. Its what they call the jazz board that is behind the light area inside the front of the refrigerator, where the light bulb goes. This is a circuit board and it seems when connection arent happening properly the fridge wont go into defrost mode and the water freezes over the evaporator not allowing any cold air to the top but working cooling freezer and making lots of frost too. I paid $400 to Sears service repair. The jazz board itself, I kept the old one and you can buy it online for about $100 and a child can do the labor that I paid hundreds for because, like you, I didnt know what the problem was. The 2 rear steel rack supports were flaming/sparking. I was told by Whirlpool over the phone that this might have been a recalled item, but they would send a technician to check. The technician said it was a build-up of grease and that I should not have used the rack and not to use the rack at all in the future. However, I do not use the microwave often enough to get a build-up of grease and it is cleaned thoroughly. This is a Whirlpool-manufactured product. Why would it be unsafe and why can I not ever use the rack again? If this was a hazard, why has it not been recalled? The technician removed the rack and sprayed a white substance on the support, and I was charged $138.03 for this and left with a partially, unusable appliance. I would like this to be replaced, so that I can use 100% of my microwave or be reimbursed for this expense. Please explain. Thank you.

Ive been a landlord since 1997 and have multiple sets of coin laundry machines. The older Whirlpool machines are great and have lasted 25-40+ years with almost no issues. Replaced a washer with this model 4 years ago and have multiple problems. Im buying a used coin operated washer thats older than this model just to get rid of it. Cost of parts is almost half the cost of a new washer, and adding on labor and time makes no sense. Very happy to get rid of it. Electronics instead of mechanics has been the problem. Electronic switch that is activated with the coin slide broke, the main board fried, and the lid switch has caused problems

Whirlpool microwave 1163XVS - I purchased a new home and a Whirlpool microwave in May 2010. The microwave has all of a sudden stopped heating! Turns on, spins, counts down, lights up, etc., but will not heat. Found this site by trying on my own to detect a possible reason and Im shocked to see these many complaints of the exact problem. Unbelievable, should be class action suit maybe for continuing to take money from consumers for defective product that Whirlpool knows about and appears to not take responsibility. Ive read enough, not even going to call for repair. Im buying another brand and spending more wisely this time. Thanks for the heads up. Shame on Whirlpool.

I had a Whirlpool Natural Gas Water Heater professionally installed on 2-27-2107. This unit came with a Honeywell controller and thermopile assembly. Today is 05-18-2019 and the unit is not inoperative. The pilot is lit but the burner wont light. Here are the issues that I have come across so far: When I go to the Whirlpool site there is no direct link to Whirlpool water heaters, just kitchen appliances and washer/dryers. When I click on parts and accessories link it gives links to washers, dryers or pedestals. Again... No information about water heaters. I scroll down to the bottom of this page and I see a link to All Replacement Parts When I click that it takes me to another site managed by RepairClinic. When I enter the model number for the water heater it says Not Found. I entered the part number for the thermopile on the tag on the orange wire #321165-002 and 100078039 and again it returns as Part Not Found. Its obvious that Whirlpool is putting little effort into supporting their water heaters or their customers. I called their support line and they were able to order the thermopile assembly for $55 plus $27.95 in shipping to get it here by Tuesday. Today is Saturday. So that means almost 4 days without hot water. And since this water heater was a warranty replacement for a previous one that went bad they will not cover the cost of replacement parts for the thermopile. Lesson learned: No more Whirlpool purchases for any of their appliances.

Second time in 3 years our freezer/fridge has gone out. Same symptoms as last time, which was a bad motor. Repaired BY WHIRLPOOL. Completely useless. I don’t expect to have to replace a refrigerator every three years. Especially when I paid $$$$ for it to begin with. DO NOT BUY!! We will be switching brands. And as the installed items in our house start to go (yeah, they’ve already had to service an oven installed at the same time 3 years ago too) they too will be replaced with other brands. You’ve lost a lifetime customer! Shame on you Whirlpool.

Owner of 20 apartments, 16 of them have electric water heaters and 4 have natural gas units. Have replaced over the years all 20 water heaters. 19 of them were replaced with Whirlpool units bought at our local Lowes. It is my opinion that they are very unreliable. The tanks rust out in NO time. The electric units last just a little better than the gas units but still terrible. Of the 4 gas units so far I have had to replace 3 of them and the longest one lasted 6 years and 7 months!! One of them was just over 6 years and the other was 9 days away from warranty expiring. They replaced that one. If you have no other choice make sure to buy extended warranty if available. They just dont last!!

We purchased a brand new Cabrio washer and dryer in December 2010. We didnt move into the new house until February 2011 to start using the appliances. Last week, we called a repairman in to see what was wrong with the machine because it was making such strange sounds. He said it needed 3 new parts including a gear. The gear he took out was broken and gummed up with soap. We were told by an appliance salesperson that the water should never have been able to get to the gear. Parts were to be here by Tuesday of this week and the machine repaired. They called to reschedule yesterday. I called them this morning and they said the tub and another part would be delivered today, but the gear would not be sent out until September 12. This is a brand new machine which was obviously sent out of the factory with a defect. It doesnt clean properly and sounds like an airplane ready for take-off. I have never heard a machine this loud.We are going out and purchase another brand. My advice: Dont buy Whirlpool!Donna

We purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer less than 2 years ago. These are supposed to be high efficiency appliances, but the washer has never cleaned the clothes well and the dryer often has to be run more than once in order to get the clothes dry. Then, about two weeks ago, the washer started making such a loud noise on the spin cycle that it sounded like a jet plane taking off. It was hard to hear the television when it was running. Today, it started screeching and water leaked on the floor. I called the number listed on my manual and was basically told that it would cost half of what we had paid for the machine to fix it. What efficiency, a poor machine that lasts less than two years. We will never buy Whirlpool appliances again.

We purchased our unit (Microwave Hood Combination #WMH53520AH-1) in Fall of 2013 and within a year we noticed there were occasionally problems with the sensors; occasionally when you would open the door the lights would flicker and even rarer still, they wouldnt turn on at all. Id close and re-open the door several times to try to get it to register, because if it doesnt you are unable to heat anything in it. The sensor issue increased with the passage of time, but because it was outside of the 1 year warranty, Whirlpool refused to do anything about it, instead advising that I pay $70-140 for a service professional to come out and inspect it. The biggest problem with the sensor issue in this unit is that normally, if you open the door mid-heating cycle, the microwave will automatically turn off but once I opened the door AND IT CONTINUED TO EMIT MICROWAVES - the cycle stayed on!!!Needless to say, on the occasion that the microwave is actually working and we are heating something up in it, we NEVER open the door mid cycle and instead hit the cancel button, which blessedly works. You would think Whirlpool would care about their reputation for making high-quality electrical products. A flaw in the construction or design of a product can appear if quality of materials is poor and the problem can be exacerbated over time. Which is why I assume the warranty is only for one year. High Quality Products and Good Customer Service are such rare things these days. For our next microwave (which I imagine well need soon) I think well forego Whirlpool and go with a different company.

We purchased a new refrigerator and dishwasher about three and a half years
We purchased a new refrigerator and dishwasher about three and a half years ago. There are only two of us living in the house and we both work so it is not like we use our dishwasher every day. Dishwasher is Whirlpool Whisper Quiet III Gold model. About three months ago, the panel lights quit working but the dishwasher would still run. Now the blasted thing will not even turn on. Our ice maker freezes up and we are always having to ice pick out the ice and clean out the ice maker. Basically, we never use it because we are tired of the process of cleaning it just to have ice. Now after reading reviews, I do not want to fork out the money to have a repair person come in and fix the dishwasher which most likely will break down somewhere else. Plus the dishwasher tray has a lot of broken tips and are rusty and I have actually had to file a few to keep from getting stabbed by the sharp point. The previous dishwasher worked great and had been in the house for over 15 years. I wish I could remember what brand it was. I only replaced it because I wanted one to match the refrigerator. I am appalled at the quality of the Whirlpool products. I have to get another dishwasher and I have other things that I need to spend my money on rather than a dishwasher. I wont buy another Whirlpool product as of September 13, 2013.

I wait for more than 30 days for parts to arrive and my dishwasher to be fixed. Called Whirlpool/Flamingo. Both dont give confirmation as to when the parts will arrive (note they havent been shipped by distributor). Wow seriously??? Please Im already facing inconvenience since more than month on a brand New appliance. They say no compensation no replacement. Only I will have to wait indefinite time for dishwasher to be shipped and repaired. So much of inconvenience and customer service says she will not call me back and I will have to follow up? In July 2018 I purchased a coin operated commercial front load 27 in washer and dryer. It was placed in and used in a six unit apartment building occupied by 8 long term adults. Prior washers and dryers had been operational for years with minor repairs at times. In June of 2019 the interior cement center balance on the top of the washer drum broke with resulting damage to screws securing the center balance and potentially other unknown parts. This was reported to Whirlpool customer Care service and they referred me to one of their a repair services. The repair service in about early August repaired the washer. In late September 2019 the cement balance broke a second time and this was again reported to Whirlpool service who requested I notify their recommended repair service. On inspecting the washer the repair service stated the entire washer was required to be rebuilt. The labor for installation of would cost me $1,125 with Whirlpool providing the parts under their warranty. The $1,125 labor cost was just under what I paid for a new coin operated front load washer. I reported this to Whirlpool whose supervising staff, without any inspection of damaged washer as to determine whether the washer was fit for its purpose when sold as a commercial washer, rejected any replacement of the less one year old washer and insisted they would only pay for the parts and I would have to pay for the labor, particularly when the both the cost of the replacement parts and the labor would be substantially in excess of a new machine. Due to time and effort constraints the problem was resolved by simply dumping the defective washer and purchasing a new commercial front load washer from a more responsible company.

We have had this washer for a year and the longest it has run before breaking down is 3 weeks. Since it takes longer than that to get a repairman out to look at it and another 2 to 4 weeks to get parts, it has run less than half of the time we have owned it. This thing is a hunk of junk. Well, this saga continues. Whirlpool dishwasher was purchased at the HH Gregg on Rockville Road on March 17, 2012. Whirlpool dishwasher broke down on May 17, 2012. I bought the extended warranty but who cares? HH Gregg doesnt because it does not go into effect until a year after purchase. So since its less than year, I called Whirlpool, who sent someone out a week later, who, of course, cannot fix the brand new dishwasher because 2 parts had to be ordered. This was almost 2 weeks ago! I still have not heard from the company, A & E, who works for Whirlpool here in Indy. Whirlpool called me on Monday to tell me theyre sorry and blah, blah, and will try to find part in five more days. Then ship it to me, and, of course, it will probably take another week for the maintenance man to fix it. I mean, I grew up having to wash dishes by hand, so no big problem. But when you spend $600 to $800 for a supposedly nice product to enjoy the leisure time of your life and get extended warranties, you expect it to work for at least 6 months before breaking down. So be warned. Do not buy Whirlpool, and furthermore, beware of buying extended warranties and appliances at HH Gregg.

I purchased a Whirlpool microwave model #WHM3205XVS1 on October 2, 2011. The handle broke off in little pieces and was repaired in March 2012. Handle broke off again in little pieces in September 2012. This will be the 3rd handle that will continue to break in little pieces every 6 months. According to both repair men that were here, this is their comment: No customer abuse, this is a very common problem with this model. After to speaking to 3 people at Whirlpool, I was told by everyone, This is cosmetic problem and we will not fix after the 1 year manufacturers warranty is up. I started with the the first person, went to her supervisor, then went to her supervisor. I am now waiting for a call from a manager although I was told I will continue to get the same answer no matter how far up the chain of command I go. So, I was told that it is okay to have 2 screws sticking out holding the remaining part of the handle that is left, because it is a cosmetic, not a functional problem. I will never stop with Whirlpool. I will call 4 times a day if necessary. I will never purchase another Whirlpool product again! I will tell everyone I know not to purchase one of their products. Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine is less than five years old. First repair was replacement of control panel (under warranty). Second, third and fourth attempts to fix the out-of-balance problem which continually caused the machine to shut down altogether (even a small load) left my repairman totally frustrated after replacing most of the parts, finally telling me it just cant be fixed! What? I paid over $1,000 for this machine in Oct. 2007 and expected it to last many, many years. My mother-in-law has a washing machine she bought used in 1979 and it is still working beautifully. Ive read the 14 pages of complaints on the Consumer Affairs website and agree with Diana in Kissimmee, Fl - I am sick to my stomach not only for Whirlpool not recalling the Cabrio, but for Lowes and Sears and any other supposedly family-friendly business for continuing to sell it! Someone please contact me if you know of a class action suit being filed.
