Model #wfw70hebw Duet washer. Lasted 18 months, replaced one sensor and then find out computer board is toast. Seems this was an issue as I was told there is a CORE deposit on the old board so it can be repaired and resold. WTF? New board (repaired) is almost $300. That is a bunch of bull.

Our Whirlpool Duet front loader washer developed a mildew smell and started making a horrible banging noise on the spin cycle. We had a service man come out and the concrete weight had broken in half. He said this was not uncommon. I just did a Google search and apparently this is a true factory defect. Luckily we had purchased an extended warranty. I always thought Whirlpool was a premium brand but after this experience I will never buy another washer from them. They should do a product recall.

Whatever you do, dont ever buy a Whirlpool French door refrigerator. For the last 5 months this $2,200 error in our judgement has not worked. We purchased it late last September and were so excited to enjoy this sleek machine. Wrong. In November a controller broke and the refrigerator portion froze over freezing everything and blowing apart the deli drawer. Then the ice maker was not working, it topped out at about 10 cubes a day. After that it acquired the lovely habit of shutting off every several minutes. 24 hours a day. Every time it would turn back on it would chime. 24 hours a day. And neither the refrigerator nor freezer portion would maintain temperature. Whirlpool keeps sending people out, turning us into their Guinea Pig while they try to come up with a solution. The chiming has finally stopped but we still dont have an ice maker and the light is intermittent. Another repair man is due tomorrow. So unless you have countless hours to spend waiting for and dealing with repairmen, making phone calls and enjoying throwing away spoiled food, dont waste your money with this company.

On December 21, it became clear that I needed to replace our 13-year old Rheem water heater. We decided to buy one from Lowes, 36 miles away and have a handy man install it. He installed the new Whirlpool 50 gal gas water heater with a 12-year warranty on Friday, the 22nd, but could not get it to stay lit. He called Whirlpool to troubleshoot. They said it could be one of two parts and that they would ship the parts on the Monday after Christmas. He asked who would install and they recommended a local plumber. He called that plumber but they indicated they did not do Whirlpool warranty work and would have to charge. On Monday, I called Whirlpool and was assured the parts would be shipped that day for overnight delivery. I confronted them about the local plumber not doing their warranty work so they set up an appointment with a company called A&E for Wednesday morning. On Tuesday morning, I called Whirlpool to get the tracking number on the parts and was told that they did not get shipped on Monday as promised but would be shipped that day, arriving by the end of the day Wednesday, too late for the appointment for installation.By Tuesday night, my wife got on this site and was appalled to read the numerous identical complaints. I decided that Wednesday morning that I would hire a plumber to remove the Whirlpool and install another so we would not have a lifetime of problems from Whirlpool. The plumber installed a different water heater. It started right up and we have had no problems since. I got an R or RA number from Whirlpool which I think they only gave me because the parts had not arrived on time and I returned the piece of ** to Lowes for a refund. Lowes has a seven-day return policy of these.

We purchased a Cabrio model WTW6600SB2 washer, it has lasted 4 years, then when the pump went out, we paid $200. To fix it then on the 2nd load, it went out, now the tech man says the motor is cracked and Im not sure if the motor is replaced, it will even work. I looked at the motor and it is made of plastic! Can you believe this? Plastic! I didnt believe it until I saw it with my own eyes. I will never purchase a Whirlpool appliance again nor will any of my relatives or friends if they ever ask my opinion.

In January 2016 we ordered a Whirlpool Dishwasher through Home Depot. First, Whirlpool delivered the wrong dishwasher and the installer took my old one away - leaving minimal options to correct the problem quickly. Home Depot did not make the order Model # error but they did compensate for the error. Now, with 18 months of very low use (2 in household - prewashing all the dishes) the pump on the dishwasher is gone. Before posting this review I contacted Whirlpool via email. Two weeks later I had a phone message and I returned the call only to wait for 30 minutes to get through to a customer service agent who could offer absolutely no solutions or compensation for their poor quality product or service. There needs to be a zero on the scale of STARS to reflect Whirlpools overall quality.

A-10 error on display ultimately means needs a new pump. The washer (model WFC7500VW 2) is 3 months, 9 days old and is now unusable. I cannot get any service (under 1-year manufacturers warranty) because the sticker inside the door with the model and serial # is missing (i.e., it was sold to me by Homedepot.com without a serial # on the door label, sticker is intact and is brand new and apparently was printed without a serial #).I made multiple calls to Whirlpool in Benton Harbor, Michigan and finally spoke with Courtney (who states she was a supervisor) pretty much said all they will do is to reprint a label from the factory and I should have it in 7-10 business days. They refuse to stand behind their product and authorize timely repair of their product they sold to my without a serial # on the door tag from the factory. I have to wait to schedule factory warranty repair until I get the new label (probably 3 weeks plus without a usable washer). Courtney refused to contact me via email for any of her contact information or to supply verification of conversation or promise of a new factory label. Also, she refused to try to authorize any type of manufacturers warranty to fix the brand new unusable washer!

We bought a gas hot water heater from Lowes on Dec. 31, 2010. In July 2011, there was no hot water. After much yelling and headaches, Whirlpool agreed to send out a technician to look at it, since I refuse to go in the attic and I will not work on gas appliances. After 7 days with no hot water, they replaced a valve that failed, they said, because our attic was too hot. The old unit never complained. Eight months later out, the unit went again (and we had an attic fan put in). This time, Whirlpool sent out a local plumber (and I paid for the call) though we had a warranty and extended plan with Lowes?! This time I was told no problem it was too windy and it blew out the pilot. Its funny we never noticed the attic being windy even during the hurricanes. Four to 5 months later, well, you guessed it but this time my husband just re-lit it. Then the next time, 5 months later, my brother-in-law did it. That was August to September 2012. See, this morning, there is no hot water. I had to fight with Lowes since we have the 5-year extended plan. I cannot get anyone to explain why it makes sense to them that a 2 1/2 year old hot water heater has to be re-lit every 4-6 months. Then I went online. Now I know why Lowes and Whirlpool are ignoring the issue. So, anyone know a good lawyer or what are they doing to get satisfaction?

Before last Thanksgiving (2020) had installers set up this 3 door bottom freezer 2.4K new Whirlpool Fridge. It immediately froze almost half of the goods (big holiday foods). Whirlpool Tech showed up 3 times of 4 appts and could not repair. He said should work and now we froze Christmas Holiday foods. Different company of Whirlpool Tech was here was here twice, second time he ordered 4 parts and as of March 12, 2020, we can only use about half of our 24.7 cu ft fridge. For almost 6 months we have bins in our garage instead of the fridge...now our garage is too warm for bins of food. Whirlpool refuses to confirm this $24K fridge a lemon. We DESERVE more!

I am 50 and I have to admit this is in the top 5 of the best purchases I ever made. For me to take the time to find a place to write a review 3 years later should be testament to how happy I am. The ice melts and water drains out, so when you come in the kitchen all of the sudden you step in a puddle of water. Whirlpool Duet WFW94HEAW0 Washer - Bought the machine in Feb 2014 and was generally very pleased with it. However a few weeks ago we started getting oil/grease stains on clothing. Wasnt sure what was causing it but it has now got so bad that the machine cant be used. An internet search indicates it is possibly a ball racer ring and doesnt sound an uncommon issue. A call to Whirlpool resulted in a quote for circa $350 for a service call. Thats a 1/3rd of the original value (includes a 12 month warranty). And its just over a year old!!! We had a problem with the Maytag Neptune that ended in a class action suit and now this replacement machine seems to be even worse. I would recommend anyone to really consider what to buy and give this range a miss.

I purchased a Whirlpool (Cabrio) Washer on March 1 2018. I previously had a Roper top loader with an agitator that was 22 years old. I used that washer for that many years and washed clothes 6 out of the 7 days of the week. Probably at least 20 loads a week. I never had a problem with it getting my clothes wet & clean. It never left them dirtier after washing them than they were before washing them. I am so disappointed in this washer!!! I can see it will not do any good to complain to Whirlpool because apparently they dont care about their customers. They think theyre products are perfect when they are far from it. I plainly told the associate I wash clothes every day. Really dirt clothes. (My son is a mechanic). I need a good washer. I can wash them by hand better than this washer does. I am very thankful I have not paid the full price for this washer yet. I will be calling them to come pick it up when my next payment is due. I will be going to one of the local consignment or thrift stores and purchasing myself an old timey top loader washer with an agitator for $100 or less. Whirlpool I had high hopes with this product and would have been buying a dryer to match soon but I believe I will stick to my Roper products or anything other than Whirlpool.

We too have nothing but problems with our supposedly top of the line convection/microwave oven. Purchased in 2010 in February for new kitchen. From start, original microwave installed did not work, would not cook or heat. Dealer replaced. One year later, same problem, but now out of warranty. Had to pay labor, costs, and parts to get fixed. Fast forward 13 months, again magnetron needs replaced, microwave will not work. What a hunk of junk for our money. I will never buy any Whirlpool appliances again, and I will tell everyone I know the same. When you call customer service, they are nice but only say “too bad, out of warranty”. What a joke for a major appliance company to tell customers. It is obvious that this microwave is faulty from the get go, and they just keep on making them the same way and not trying to fix the problem.

We bought a Whirlpool Cabrio 6300 washer based off the salesmans recommendation (not very happy about this). After the warranty ran out, every time in the spin cycle, it makes a sound similar to a piece of metal banging around inside the cylinder during the cycle. Our friends have told us they had a similar experience and for their machine, they found out the bearings were going out. Weve had this machine a total of 3 years. I doubt we ever buy another item from HH Gregg plus will do our investigation on Consumer Buyers digest before we toss any more money out for a washing machine.

Long story short, we replaced a very old Whirlpool water heater with a new one a couple of years ago... We have had nothing but trouble. First, pilot light wouldnt stay lit. Found out that it was defective.... Whirlpool DID offer a no cost conversion kit. Had to pay shipping and installation costs. Have had the plumber out four more times to try to ANYTHING to keep it lit.... No luck. He even spoke to a Whirlpool tech on the phone and followed his advice. I have filed an online complaint with Whirlpool and the site stated that I would hear back within three working days. Guess what.... no reply. I have four other Whirlpool appliances that I love, BUT as they wear out, I will NOT consider Whirlpool.

We purchased a Whirlpool Accubake Drop-in Stove (Model # RS675PXG015) on 10/21/2006 from Lowes Companies, which cost $1,100.00. In 11/2012, we had an error message E1-F2, and we tried everything to get it to clear - all suggestions given by electrical repairman who does repair for Lowes Cos. The stove is porcelain, which also has problems of staining that cant be cleaned. We were told the repair would cost $200 for the panel, and if that doesnt work, another $400 for the other panel. In reviewing other complaints for this Whirlpool stove, there are enough complaints to recall this item or at least give deep cuts for the parts to repair this stove. We have purchased other Whirlpool items, and this one is not well made and too costly to repair. It should last at least 15 years or more. Cant Whirlpool do something about this obvious problem?

I have called Whirlpool six times to request a replacement for a broken deli drawer in my refrigerator. I was told to throw everything away from the unit, since the whole assembly would come complete in the mail. First call: Ordered the replacement: what came was a glass shelf without a drawer or gliders and hardware. Second call: requested the drawer and remaining parts. Third call: only received the plastic drawer without any means of installing it. Fourth call: received only one side glider, again without hardware to install. Fifth call: requested a supervisor (Kimberly) who took the order for the remaining glider and all hardware. Received second glider and (1) screw when two are needed.Sixth call: asked rep Brigitte for a supervisor and was not connected. Given the run around and told that the rep spoke with a supervisor for me and would send out a repairman to assemble the unit. I just need the missing screw. I have spent a lot of time on the phone trying to get what I need from Whirlpool and do not have time to wait for a service repairman to come out. I just cannot fathom how that many calls - with me being patient and calm - cannot produce the required items. Horrible.

My Duet Sport washer drum is damaged due to the poor quality of the bearing
My Duet Sport washer drum is damaged due to the poor quality of the bearings. I replaced the Whirlpool Duet Front Loader Washer Bearing & Seal Kit W10253866, W10253856 but because the bearings were damaged the drum is also damaged. When I opened the rear panel of the washer the bearings had literally come apart and bearings fell out. All of the floor and the oil/grease was everywhere. I replaced the bearings but it didnt matter because the drum is warped. Priced the drum and it is nearly $400.00 to replace the assembly. The cost of the drum assembly is about half the cost of a new washer. I will never buy another Whirlpool product again. Just a shame that the cost of a replacement drum is so high. What caused the bearings to just explode and damage the drum. What did I do to cause this? Absolutely nothing. I have since discovered that this is has happened to scores of people with this same washer.

The washer before this one, I had it for over 10 years and replaced it because of rust (thats another problem with Whirlpool - rust). Now the Cabrio hasnt got all kinds of problems - UL, F1 and jumping. The serviceman asked me for $450 for repair; it included a set of springs for the drum, a new electronic board and a 30-day warranty on parts and labor. Im better off buying a new one (I cant afford at this moment). I bought a new Whirlpool refrigerator at Home Depot for about $700. Six months later, suddenly, it starts making an intermittent but constant loud grinding noise and then the squeaking started. I called Home Depot first because I bought the protection plan. They referred me to Whirlpool who said the protection plan doesn’t kick in until another year after the warranty ends. It makes these noises whenever it runs, which seems to be more often (that it is running). Whirlpool may still charge $120 just for someone to come look at it even though it is under warranty. I asked another repair place and they said it might void my warranty for them to look at it instead. Whirlpool said it wouldn’t void the warranty but they would only work on it after the first repair person was finished. I’m waiting for the repair guy to come and see why it is making these loud noises. Another person with more knowledge of fridges than I have listened to the noises and said it sounds like friction in a motor. I read a review of the fridge that said the reviewer had problems after only 6 months and I thought that must be a fluke. Apparently not.

I purchased a Whirlpool side-by-side refrigerator from Lowes for $1,100. It arrived missing a shelf. Last year, the warranty expired and the ice maker mysteriously failed. Next a drawer slide failed. Next the lights, both of them, failed. I was offered a service call, the estimate $300+. Next, the ice bucket bottom broke and filled the freezer with cubes. Next another drawer slide failed. Whirlpool makes an over-priced, poorly engineered, poorly made product and Lowes sells their products without any care for their customers. I will do my best to warn anybody who is interested that while Whirlpool used to be a good company, it has degraded into producing junk and trading on a once storied reputation. And Lowes touts these products without any interest in its consumers.

Where to begin? I bought Whirlpool Duet Front-Load Washing Machine about 11 months ago after my top load bearing went bad and start making a lot of noise after 8-9 years. 4 months ago (6 months from purchase) it started to act strange; washing machine will not unlock after a cycle, start throwing F3E1 error. Thats when I first called their support service. Their service technicians are very nice actually. They seem to be local small appliance shop, contacted out by Whirlpool, from my guess. Initial visit was to inform me that Im using WAY too much soap, while I was only using well below what was recommended by Whirlpool manual. RED FLAG #1. Technicians told me to stop using too much soap or start using POD. Also to flush my washing machine with 2 cups of white vinegar in hot cycle every few weeks. Ive changed my soap to Tide POD and starting flushing my washing machine immediately after he left my house. It was running OK, but I still saw F3E1 error at the end of every other cycle, until... thing went really bad one day, it simply stopped responding any command while clothes was still in the washing machine. I unplugged power cable and plug it back, it hums for 10 mins and in the end it was the same result. After several attempt, it finally unlocked itself, thus I could wash my clothes at my parents house. This is when I called support service 2nd time. The same technician came and this time, I had video recording of everything. He could not dismiss this with simple soap theory, so he opens up the washing machine and tells me that its due to bad control board. He proceeds to order new control board, which took a few weeks. New technician comes back with new control board and installs, runs a few test command (not full cycle) and leaves. During this whole time, Im left with no washing machine at home. Good thing I travel sometimes and laundry is done remotely sometimes. This repair didnt improve the situation much. I called them back for another appointment. Another technician comes back and tells me that Whirlpool sent back BAD control board. Now, Im really suspecting their product is really piece of **. At least at this point, I was still happy with their service. He leaves my house claiming that they will order new control board and re-install.A few days later, I receive a call from a lady, claiming that Whirlpool has instructed them to ask me to use different outlet, since they believe my outlet is causing issues. Now Im really pissed. Coming from electrical engineering background, I know theres always any chance, but they should double check this with their own technicians. Anyways, I perform their recommendation, which I knew was a shot in the dark. During this whole ordeal, Im working on a project that are out of state (CA). Not only do I have time to stay home for all these service visits, but Im not even home to test my washing machine. During one of the holiday, I was able to take a few days off. This is when I decided to take different approach. I went to the retailer, whom I purchased my washing machine from. They were also nice, but theres so much they can do.I called Whirlpool direct line to explain my situation, how unhappy I was, and to replace my washing machine. Their response was by the book: We can only execute our warranty policy and replacement is not part of warranty. The representative specialist had enough nerve to ask me why I have not called back in several weeks and continue to repeat it as if its my problem for not reporting back. I had spent 2 months of supports and 4 site visits, where I had to reschedule my work or take a day off, before travelling for projects after holiday seasons. This representative really took customer service to next level of hell. In the end Im without properly functioning washing machine for 4 months. I have to coordinate with my parents to use their washing machine when Im back home. My advice, you should really think 3 times before buying Whirlpool washing machine or any other appliance. Also consider that youre on your own, when their product malfunctions, and youll be sitting on dead appliances.

The salesperson was great but we are not happy with our washer. We already had it swapped out once because of white spots showing up on our clothes. The only thing they could think of was that the bleach I used wasnt rinsing out completely so it showed up on our clothes. Recently, I washed a table runner by itself and it had some red in it. Now there are red spots on a couple of items that I washed after the runner. My husband just now asked why there were red spots on a shirt that he wears all the time. I explained. Also, we have had some white spots on clothes and I could scratch it out without leaving a permanent mark. Were no longer using bleach and we use only liquid detergent and all of it is HE. The website lists DISCONTINUED fridges. Called their RUDE rep and found out only can get a Smaller, stainless steel ONLY refrigerator. So is that how they work, sell crappy refrigerators and then replace with a lesser refrigerator, which most likely will break down too. SHAME ON WHIRLPOOL. Or is it DEADPOOL. Your reputation is shot. We will NEVER purchase another piece of junk from you!!!

I bought my Whirlpool refrigerator (Fresh door with Ice maker) from Best Buy in July 2017. By 2019 December the ice maker had stopped working and the refrigerator turns off / shuts down automatically. Have confirmed that the power is still on because of the display on the door. So it is not a power issue. Paid $180 for a Whirlpool authorized consultation and they said the Ice maker motor does has stopped working and the computer board needs to be repaired. This will cost me around $800. Called up customer service to see if the cost can be lowered but of course they said a NO. I am truly upset with the brand and with Customer Service for their lack of empathy.

In May of 2010, my husband and I purchased a Cabrio washing machine. By the fall of 2010, I had put in a call to Whirlpool due to the washing machine chewing holes into clothing and not cleaning the clothes. Some of the clothes would come out of the washing machine with dry spots on them. Whirlpool sent out two different servicemen and even though one of them replaced the agitator we have still had problems with it. One of the servicemen even tried to tell me it wasnt the machine but it was my detergent (I use HE Purex dye free). I was told by a service rep at Whirlpool that there was nothing more they could do and I would just have to deal with it. I understand that products go faulty but with good customer service these issues could be resolved. Whirlpool obviously has little regard for their customers. I have contacted the Better Business Bureau. Hopefully they can get results.

In October 2009, I purchased a Whirlpool Energy smart gas water heater with flame lock safety system.$509.00 I had it installed on 5/4/2009 by Westmoreland Affordable Plumbing, $218.00. On 10/15 called Whirlpool stating that the upper thermistor was coding as a failure. They sent me another one to replace it on 10/19/2009. On 10/19/2009, 1 and 1/2 hours later, the tank was coding a bad gas valve, called back and told Whirlpool what had happened and that I smelled gas. I shut off the gas to the water heater and waited for a valve replacement to arrive. On 10/21/2009 I had E.H. Plumbing to install the new gas valve to the water heater, $150.00. On 10/28/2009 the new gas valve went bad. I contacted Whirlpool and argued with them until I had them replace the hot water tank. With their approval I went to Lowes and tried to get the same water tank but they no longer sold that model anymore. I was given their equivalent to the one I had purchased earlier. I had it installed on 10/29/2009, $150.00. I now see a class action suit was filed against Whirlpool for the model in 2008. They were still selling this model after the lawsuit???? I spent $1027.00 for a $509 hot water tank and a lot a days without any hot water. I have all my receipts and returned codes for this transaction. Is it possible to get my $300.00 back (for two extra installations) as a result of this problem? I also kept the old gas valve thermostat.

Long story short is that my dishwasher was 7 months old and two parts went out on it. 4 months (and almost 3 hours total on the phone) later it still does not work. Whirlpool only has one repair person in our area and that person is a small business owner who works alone and is now in his 2nd week of vacation leaving no one else in his shop to do repair while he is out. I do not know if my part is ordered nor do I have a repair date! Never will I ever again purchase a $900.00 dishwasher or any appliance from Whirlpool!

I want to make this clear I’d give NO stars if I could!! Whirlpool is totally junk!! I bought a whole suite of Whirlpool kitchen appliances from Home Depot that is a dishwasher, stove, and fridge. The dishwasher never cleaned the dishes, always left a film on everything, cant clean out the drain area, the screens don’t come off and less a year later the dishwasher top rack literally fell off and broke all the glasses that were loaded in it and the fridge keeps freezing all my food!!! I keep having to adjust the thermostat up down up down just to make it doesn’t freeze. Now that the warranty is no good on any of the crap I will no doubt be charged an arm and a leg to get it fixed, which definitely won’t be worth it!!! Whirlpool is such crap!!! Made in America no wonder!!! Don’t buy any whirlpool anything!!! You will be very VERY disappointed!!! I’ve bought plenty of brand new appliances. Bosch is by far the best dishwasher even the cheaper ones. Now I have to pay to dispose the whirlpool crap!!! I am sure whirlpool doesn’t give a crap though!!! They will keep selling their crap, but don’t Buy it!!! You will be soooo disappointed!!!

We purchased a 50 gallon water heater in 2005. In 2008, the thermocoupling unit went out and Whirlpool sent us the replacement part and we had a plumper install the piece (at our expense, of course). Now, we are running into the exact same problem 3 years later with the pilot light not staying lit. We had a plumber come out this weekend and replace the part but unfortunately this time, its not fixing the problem. The plumber charged us $178. He said that he can replace the thermostat on the water heater but that would cost us close to $400 to replace and makes no sense to do since purchasing a new one wouldnt be much more than that. I am so frustrated with this water heater; I just want to throw it out in the middle of the street! We still have 3 years left on our warranty too. I have 2 very young daughters who need to take baths, and who also dirty up quite a bit of clothes that need to be washed in warm water. What a nightmare! Whirlpool, help us!

Paid between $800.00 and $1,000 (cant recall exactly) three years ago and the oven locked recently while cooking a pizza. Couldnt get the lock to disengage and the oven turned on self-clean mode without me doing anything. The pizza burned crispy before I finally got the door open. The failure code for the control panel showed up. I didnt buy the extended warranty because we only needed it to last 5 - 6 years until we do a full kitchen remodel and the really inexpensive (~ $250) oven that was installed by the previous owners to sell the house lasted six years with no trouble. Now we have to pay $391.00 to repair what I consider a brand new oven. In doing some research it looks like the control panel fail is common and is associated with using the self clean mode which we only used once. Great oven if you only need one for a few years and are willing to pay the price.

I called customer service and they will sell me a new 1-year warranty for about $345.00. Customer service thinks it sounds like the motor or the gear box! After reading the reviews on this washer, its not worth it to repair. More trouble looms for us. My ref. stopped working. I troubleshoot it and did not work. I filled out a service request back on February 2nd, 2015. I got an email back from a subcontractor called Active Appliance INC. with a date service on February 6th, 2015, 4 days after my service request, and that is the only available date. The technician arrived while I am not at the house, however I talked to him before he started the work on my refrigerator and asked him kindly if he can call me after founding the issue, and he assured me that he will. No call and when I arrived home I found that he told the attendant that the refrigerator is not working and he has to report to the office. REALLY! We know that! Anyway I called Active Appliance and the customer services rep. told me that she could not answer with the diagnose until she speak with the technician and that will be Monday February 9th, I asked if I could speak with a manager, and her reply was Our managers do not talk to the customers. I had to hang up and call Whirlpool customer services and spoke with a nice gentleman, that he was not happy with Active Appliance INC. services. He placed me on hold and called them and within 3 minute he got back with the news, what was wrong with the refrigerator, electric computer panel burned out and then the fan continue to work with no stop, so it burned as well. He assured me that the services will be done no later than Tuesday February, 10th.While on the phone I got a call from active appliance and this time she wanted to know if I am warranted. I told her that I have Whirlpool on the other line and they assured me that I am. She said that it does not matter and she has to get something in writing. I placed her on hold and talked with Whirlpool and he assured me that he will contact them and email me a confirmation, which he did. By Tuesday February 10th, no call no follow up. I called Active appliance and they stated that it would take up to 14 working days for a part to arrive. I called Whirlpool and spoke with a customer services manager, and she got on the phone and told me that they are going to do their best and get back with me. Today February 16th I got a call to cancel a work service order due to technician calling sick and reschedule for February 25th Wednesday, I told her that they did not call to schedule the service first place, her answer was Never mind, I am calling to cancel anyway. Would you like to take this appointment or NOT? I asked her kindly to reevaluate their service procedures and the way they handle their customer, and I told her that I bought my refrigerator from Whirlpool and they are the company in charge of their product and I do not wish to continue this dialog with Active Appliance!I called Whirlpool and the customer service gentleman was helping me and we got disconnected, however when I called back they were closed for the day, however the customer service has my phone number but I got no phone call!!!! I think this is the worst POOR service I got within the last 20 years!!!!! I hope someone at Whirlpool care about their services and can contact me to handle the issue.

I purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator from Home Depot in Nov, 2013. Model is WRF560SEYWOO with water in the door and bottom freezer with ice compartment. This is a very small refrigerator for my very small space. I swear these companies program their appliances to break down exactly 1 month after the warranty is up. Thats what happened to me. Dec 2014 this horrible loud humming noise started. You could hear it out on the sidewalk! Then the door with the water just detached from the bottom and screws and plastic pieces fell out all over the floor. The day the repairman came he noticed all the rubber lining in the doors was detaching and huge chunks were falling off of it. He called to get replacement parts for everything and whatyaknow, all parts for this unit have been discontinued! This is what we did to cope with all these defects. The noise was caused by ice building up around the exhaust fan because the unit had stopped defrosting that area, so every 3 days I have to get out my hairdryer and melt the ice at the back of the unit. Next we MacGyvered the door so that it is resting on the freezer door. Next, he brought in some tape and taped all the pieces of rubber falling off my doors!! This frigging frig cost me $1,653.00!! I AM FURIOUS. Why isnt Con. AFFAIRS DOING ANYTHING ABOUT THIS?!

And then there is a strong possibility that the compressor is toast. I called the company and they were not willing to help out at all. Why should a refrigerator only last 5 years (technically less)? Our experience in calling Whirlpool for service is that it is very expensive and time consuming. A refrigerator installed at the same time as the purchase had a defective ice maker which took three service calls and a final installation of a broken part by me before we were together again. 2 (two) service men recommended that if we had problems again that we do what they did. My wife and I made the unfortunate mistake of purchasing the Whirlpool Gold
My wife and I made the unfortunate mistake of purchasing the Whirlpool Gold Series, model #WRF989SDAM00 refrigerator two years ago...yes TWO YEARS AGO! We have experienced numerous issues with the appliance but our latest (no cold air in both the fridge and freezer) prompted a call to a service center. The serviceman that showed up knew immediately what the issue was, our compressor and evaporator had malfunctioned and according to him, We have seen the same problem in a number of these models and that Whirlpool has since redesigned the casing to prevent this issue in new models. What about those of us who purchased the previous model?! Now shame on us I guess for not purchasing the extended warranty...I suppose I just took it for granted that in todays competitive manufacturing world Whirlpool would be committed to building a quality product! Because of this I was offered two options from Whirlpool. #1 - pay for the parts yourself...over $800 or #2 - purchase their 1 year warranty program @ $350/year, this warranty will cover all parts and labor for an entire year. Based on my experiences though, I will need to purchase a 1 year warranty @ $350/year for the life of this lemon, potentially costing me $5500 over a 10 year period. I ultimately took option 3...tossed the piece of junk and bought a new fridge from their competition. Dont be fooled by the attractive design and appearance, the Whirlpool Gold Series refrigerator is a money pit waiting to happen!

Cabrio WTW8200YWO - We purchased this washer five years ago. About a year ago it started getting noisier and noisier on spin cycle. Now it sounds like a jumbo jet taking off. A Google search quickly revealed this is a ubiquitous problem with these washers. As we are in our 70s and dont have kids at home, we are very light users of the washer. First, I would suggest that no one buy this washer. Second, I suggest that Whirlpool should recall these washers. I called Whirlpool and it turns out they clearly know about this issue. The good news is they will offer you a discount on repairs or even on a new machine. The bad news is it will still cost you several hundred dollars to fix their design defect. I suggest that you avoid purchasing Whirlpool products both because of their defective design and because of Whirlpools unwillingness to take responsibility for these problems.

The Whirlpool Gold Series we purchased, to replace the older refrigerator, has far exceeded our expectations. The French Door setup was exactly what my wife had talked about. The saleslady at Home Depot, where it was the least expensive by $283, was very well informed. We went through the specs, colors, types of finishes, etc and picked the perfect one for my wife's needs and wants. The model performs well fully loaded or almost empty. She told a few family members and they went out and bought the same model, or next model up, as we did. To wrap it all up, "Buy this. It performs as well as, if not better, than all the rest."

Purchased a Whirpool Cabrio washer. We bought this on sale at a Lowes and paid half the original price. Get it delivered and set up no issues. After about a week of washing clothes, there is a God awful smell coming from the washer because the water does not drain completely! I have used refresh washer cleaner to try and get it to go away. Most of the time there is no smell, but about once every other week, the smell is so bad it permeates through my home and makes it smell of rotten garbage. I do not recommend this washer. The cycle times jump around from the original time it tells you and the smell is just so bad. The little tray where you put liquid detergent doesnt even have a way to drain the detergent into the laundry properly and after every wash I have to dump the tray out because it stays filled with water where the water comes in and causes the detergent to rise out of the tiny hole on top. You might as well just add the detergent directly onto your clothes. I use an excellent brand of detergent that has top reviews and my clothes still dont come out smelling good from this washer. I have tried other detergents too to make sure it wasnt that one. I wish my hubby and I wouldve never paid for this thing and gone with a different one.

I purchased our brand new double ovens on 9/27/11. I was happy until 11/3/11 when the inside glass exploded, shooting shards of it all over our kitchen during the self-cleaning cycle. I immediately called Kitchen Aides corporate office in Michigan. She said that she could send a technician out to access the damages but didnt see that this was a product issue. Like I dont know how to properly push buttons to self clean! The technician came out the next day and said that he was only authorized to replace the glass, nothing else. He couldnt tell me why it shattered, he thought perhaps there was a bubble in the glass during manufacturing. I said I think it needs a whole new door at the very least, but more likely a new unit. I just paid $3000 for what will be a refurbished oven after one month of use. Today, I called once again to tell them that I am not satisfied with new glass, not to mention my oven is unusable in its current state and still has glass sipping out. I spoke to a woman in their safety committee department, who told me that Whirlpools warranty is replacement of broken parts, nothing more, and since only one pane of glass broke and not the door physically, they couldnt authorize a new door or new oven. Mind you, that we still dont know why it broke, was it just faulty glass or could it be a heating problem? She didnt care, only that they could only repair the glass. I asked if the glass could be overnighted since I have been without an oven for four days now. She said that she had no way of doing that, so I asked if I could speak to the parts department and she said I could not, that only techs could contact them. I asked if she could do anything for me? Could she assure me that it would be fixed within the week? No. Could she assure me that it would be fixed by Thanksgiving? No. Whirlpools policy clearly is that once you purchase their products, they have no intentions of listening to their customers complaints or concerns only to do the very minimum required.

On October 29, 2009, we bought a new Whirlpool 30 gallon gas hot water heater to replace a Rheem we had for 20 years. We immediately had problems with the relief valve leaking, so we ran at the local hardware store and bought another valve. Next, we had trouble lighting it (husband was a plumber years ago) but a call to the hotline and we were in business. Now just over 3 years later, the pilot light started to cut off at will. Troubleshooting solved nothing. We called the hotline again and were given a part number, an authorization number and told to go back to Lowes for a replacement part. Figuring how our luck runs, I called first and was told there was no such part number. Trip saved. Now after reading all of these reviews, we have decided to cut our losses and buy another Rheem. You can find the Whirlpool hot water heater sitting beside our 2-year-old Kenmore HE washing machine (also made by Whirlpool) on the garbage pile. No more Whirlpool!

Its an IKEA double wall oven. Top oven is convection, bottom oven is regular. The cost was half of what a single wall oven was at other stores. It is very simple without a lot of fancy timers and extras. Its great for cooking a very large meal when you need two ovens or have recipes that need different temperatures. I was able to shop entirely online to the store in another city and have the wall oven delivered for minimal charge. I dont mind paying more for better quality, but it seems increasingly hard to find. I purchased my no-name double wall oven from IKEA in 2010 for around $1000. That was almost half the price of a name brand single wall oven. Apparently the oven is made by Whirlpool. Self clean option works well. You cant beat it for putting on a great big meal where items require cooking at different temperatures. Both ovens are full size so you could cook a giant turkey and a ham at same time. It does not clean properly, if the dishes are not almost totally cleaned before putting them in the dishwasher. It has stainless steel inside, but the plastic holders have all had to be replaced. It is a large dishwasher that holds pots and pan. It is plain and has nothing outstanding to look at. Dishwasher are not meant to last any longer than 8 years, I have been told by a repairman. I will never purchase a KitchenAid, made by Whirlpool again!

Will never buy another Whirlpool/GE product again. Nothing but problems. Paid $1700 for a Whirlpool/goldstar refrigerator 2 years ago. Problems from the start with slide-out shelf cracking, evaporator fan burnt out within 2 years, digital display cannot read anymore. Now have another problem again - not cooling. Going to the trash. No wonder your stock price have dropped. I would sell off to. Whirlpool/GE have been going down hill for the last 5 years. Maybe more. Cheap products, do reflect, it just a matter of time, I would think you would address these issues in your product line, but it shows your company is all about profits instead of quality of products. Keep going like you are, and you will be bankrupt. Cheap overpriced and nothing but junk in any products you manufacture.

I know that appliances are made to be disposable, but throwing away a $40 toaster after 18 months is easier to live with than throwing away a $350-$400 dishwasher. We bought a new dishwasher at Lowes on October 15, 2015. It is now May 11, 2016. The manufacturers warranty was for a year. It has been about a year and half since it was installed. Not very long for an appliance that one would assume would last at least 5-10 years. When we called Whirlpool to see about a repair visit, we were told that the trip to the house would cost $105, and the parts could go as high as $250-$300. So if you weigh the original price to the repair price, having it repaired is not rational, but neither is throwing away a dishwasher thats almost new. Its still clean inside. No soap residue or anything in the tub. In the past, by the time we were in the market for a new dishwasher, our old dishwasher looked like it had been through the war. It just breaks my heart to know that a company is so slipshod at making appliances that they wear out in less than two years. There doesnt seem to be any recourse but to dump a perfectly good, relatively new dishwasher in the landfill. We are leaving a very big footprint by doing this.

I bought a 40 gal. Whirlpool water heater from Lowes. It was just outside the 6-year warranty when the pilot light went out and wont relight. I called Whirlpool. They are about as worthless as box of rocks. They refuse to replace the thermocoupling free of charge or at least no shipping charge, when they know in fact there is a problem. It was because no class action lawsuit was filed. Its too bad for the customers. I wished they would have just said: “lady, please take your business somewhere else.” It would have made things easier. Or, better yet, they should just put a sign on their water heaters in the store stating: “If you have problems with our product, sorry about your luck. ** you and have a nice day.”

Like many others Im experiencing the same sensor problem with my 4-year old Whirlpool oven. It wont start even after opening and closing the door multiple times as directed. I installed this oven to replace the original Whirlpool model when it died after about seven years. Im absolutely done with this thing. How frustrating when you find out that your guest isnt able to a forgotten cup of coffee that went cold. I thought to call a repairman but after reading all the reviews, I feel its better to switch brands.

GS6SHEXNB02 Whirlpool Gold Refrigerator - Bad ice maker module. Ice maker valve is bad. Its gone out 3 times a year since I got it. We order a replacement, it goes bad again. Its not the ice maker itself, its a bad valve. Signs its going out, ice maker stops making ice or the ice cubes are small or the refrigerator water will start pulsing coming out (start and stop). Whirlpool made a bad product and they know about. Several complaints online about the ice maker no longer making ice. Bad product.

6 months after we moved into our new house our Whirlpool refrigerator froze up and we had it repaired. 6 months later the same thing. Still under warranty. 6 months later the same thing. I asked for a new refrigerator. They said it could not be replaced unless it was deemed unrepairable!!!! Now after 2 years with the same problem every 6 months I get in contact with corporate and advised to get an extended warranty because “they don’t replace refrigerators”. So an extended warranty will cost $350 this year and increases every year because the fridge is over 1 year old. Ok so I am paying to have it repaired with their so called warranty!!! We went to an appliance store and purchased a new not Whirlpool refrigerator. Will never buy anything Whirlpool again and let all my friends and family know of my experience.

Never again will I purchase any Whirlpool product. I was seduced into purchasing a Whirlpool dehumidifier by the sale price at Canadian Tire. Big mistake! It worked as expected for four months before all the refrigerant leaked out - we found this out later. I contacted Whirlpool and was told I could take it to their authorized service depot (a 50 minute drive from here) for repairs. I did so and was charged $44.80 for them to troubleshoot the unit. Two weeks later they told me that the refrigerant had leaked out and it would cost $563 for repairs. For a $200 unit!! Get serious! I pointed out, according to my Canadian Tire receipt that the warranty was for 5 years on the compressor and sealed components. After further collaboration between the repair depot and Whirlpool, I was told that my warranty is not with Whirlpool but rather with the company that produced the unit for Whirlpool, namely Hisense and that the Whirlpool repair depot did not do warranty work for Hisense. I then had to fax the technician report to Hisense to get an authorization number for a replacement unit from Canadian Tire. Once armed with the authorization number, I had to visit my local Canadian Tire store and pick up the replacement. That unit worked well for about nine months before it failed. Considering service depot charges and all the driving involved, it cost me something like $100 for a warranty replacement (not including my time). No more fooling around with this junk. I just ordered a Kenmore dehumidifier. Hope that one is a better investment. I see now that Canadian Tire no longer sells these units. Maybe they figured it out. Judging from other Whirlpool reviews, it seems I am not alone in my views. My recommendation - stay away from Whirlpool!

I purchased a new gas water heater from Lowes and paid a plumber to install it. I have been having problems with it staying lit. Once I noticed the issue, I notified my plumber and the plumber was aware of this on-going issue with these water heaters. The plumber told me to call Whirlpool and have them send me a new thermocouple. Ive been putting it off until now, but realized today over the phone with Whirlpool Customer Service that the problem is with the vent. The manual that came with the water heater has a horizontal venting installation, yet Whirlpool claims that it should be vented through to the roof and they sent me, via email, the correct manual. When I asked Whirlpool how the plumber was supposed to know, she said that he should have known that it was not the correct manual (even though there is no model number written anywhere in the instructions manual) and that we should call to make sure that we have the right manual before installing my next product. So, I need to double check every purchase I make! Or is this only with Whirlpool products? After speaking with two different Whirlpool reps, I have concluded that I need to purchase a new water heater, but believe me, it will not be another Whirlpool!

I bought a brand new KitchenAid stainless steel refrigerator for close to $3,000.00. It has a big crack in the back casing which Im sure is affecting the seal. It is still under manufacturers warranty. Whirlpool sent out a technician to put a yellowish plastic epoxy to seal the crack. When I told him that this was unacceptable as it dries yellowish and has a dull finish he explained that that was all Whirlpool was willing to do.I have been dealing with Whirlpool for 4 weeks now and they refuse to repair the crack and they deny any manufacturing defect. I have sent them pictures of the crack and they still refuse to resolve this issue. Very bad, horrible experience with customer service, long waits on the phone, rude and ineffective employees. This CLEARLY is a company that will not stand by their product and I recommend everyone to CLEARLY stay away from purchasing any Whirlpool products. They will be paying a lot of money for very poorly manufactured products. Please, please, do not purchase Whirlpool products! You will be happier spending money on a company that values you as a customer before and after the sale. Obviously Whirlpool would rather forget you after they have sold you their product and have their money. Thank you for reading this. We moved into a new home in December. We purchased the home too late to choose our appliances or upgrade over what they install. From the start the oven has been aggravating in both the noise that it emits and the variance in actual temperature. We have had the Appliance Service out twice for these ovens. We are told that the noise which sounds like a wind tunnel is normal. It is there to keep the circuit board cool especially during the cleaning process. The noise is quite aggravating and is amplified throughout our open floor plan to all parts of the house. The temperature variance has been calibrated to be more accurate, but Im not convinced it is on the right temperature yet. I continue to give it a try, but Im not sure if the noise of the fan in the oven is making me feel negative towards using the oven at any time. We hate to have to replace these new units with another set of double ovens, but I doubt if I can continue with this noise much longer. It will definitely not be a Whirlpool or KitchenAid double oven of any sort.

I am so unhappy with my Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer. The clothes get so tangled and twisted that it stretches my sweaters totally out of shape. There is not enough water on any of the cycles that really clean your clothes. I saved my money so I could get something energy efficient and look great in my new laundry room. I would never recommend this product. Your sheets will not come clean because they ball up in the middle of the washer and come out partly dry. I have had this set for 3 years and now the bearing is gone; it leaks from the bottom and throws grease all over my new floor. I have battled the horrible odor since the second month. It smells so bad that I make sure I dont wash the day I have guest over. I am so disappointed and mad at myself for not reading any reviews before I spent my hard earned money. So here I am now 3 years into my ownership and having to spend more money on a defective product. The sad part is that I really thought I was getting something nice that would last me and my husband for years. There are only two of us in our household. This machine does not work properly; now it is broken, but hey it really looks good.

Whirlpool under-counter dishwasher (model DU1345XTVB0) was purchased 14 months ago. Upper rack plastic adjustable wheel rack is broken. Will not replace. Dishwasher has probable design flaw with wheel positions causing overhanging load to put extreme stress on outer two wheels. November 4, 2017 we purchased a 2018 Tiffin RV with a Whirlpool 3-door refrigerator/freezer. We did not use the RV refrigerator until our first trip to Florida January 2018. Immediate problems with the freezer icing up on freezer door and icing up in the top 2 shelves of refrigerator. Milk, fruit, even cheese froze in the top of the refrigerator. Bottom freezer door froze so bad I had to yank on the drawer very hard to even get it open & chunks of ice would fall off the door on the floor outside once it opened. Called Whirlpool warranty service phone number two times 2/16/2018. I wont go into all the details but we were on hold for a 90 minutes and were transferred 7 times by the automated system. Talked to one person, Lindsey, who immediately transferred me again to RV Dept. No one ever answered. System kept saying, Please wait. Then just disconnected and another recording came on saying to call back. We did not after this fiasco! February 19, 2018 we called Tiffin MH & told them about the NO CUSTOMER SERVICE from Whirlpool. They told us to call Sears in Sebring, FL. We did. If we wanted Whirlpool service to bring the motorhome to them & the warranty only covered parts NOT labor or service calls. They did not want to work on it. March 13, 2018 We went to Tiffin MH Service in Red Bay, AL. Earl called Whirlpool tech, Steve, & tried to explain the problem. Steve told him he did not talk on speaker phone & told him very hatefully to put him on the private line. Steve just very angrily insisting that Earl had him on speaker phone. I do not understand Whirlpools Steve issue with being on speaker phone? Finally Earl got him to listen to our refrigerator problems as he stood there at the refrigerator going through each issue step-by-step. Steve said to put silicon in the seal & that Whirlpool WOULD NOT replace a 3 month old refrigerator that actually had only been used 2 months. We found out later Tiffin is going to replace the refrigerator.

I purchased a whirlpool under counter oven - my main reason for not buying something cheap was the safety of my family - I chose the AKZM656 eye level oven. The stove is about two years old, but we do not use it that much. Two days ago my wife set the timer and placed a dish in for cooking; she then went outside to water the garden. About twenty minutes later she returned as something was burning- the oven reached a temperature of 350 degrees and would have burnt the whole kitchen down if she did not spot it. Now surely the oven should be designed to switch off if sensors fail? I reported this to Hirsch (Ballito) but they say they have no one servicing the Richards Bay area. I am not sure if this stove should be fixed as it is obviously not safe and makes me wonder how Whirlpool get safety standards passed on these items. Surely you expect better when buying a well-known whirlpool brand?

My induction cooktop totally failed to work two months after installation. Whirlpool sent a repairman who told us it was the main board. He also said he was unable to locate any of that part anywhere in his computer. We called Whirlpool via our store, Ikea. They apologized, asked for 48 hours to locate a part, then said they would replace the cooktop if they were unable to find out. Almost 48 hours later, they hadnt located it and denied any replacement option. The parts cost is over $800. The cooktop cost just over $900. Whirlpool reps would only read from a script of legal warranty jargon. Then they said they needed 5 to 7 days. We had a baby visiting - we needed our stove. To me, an apology would be replacing that unit if the part wasnt available, not a verbal statement. Fortunately, we had the phone # of a local Ikea manager who told us to bring the cooktop to the store as they had them in stock. They replaced it with a new one. Over the years of my long life, I have bought many Whirlpool products. Never again. I need a washer and dryer, and will not be purchasing any associated with the Whirlpool Corporation. A couple of years ago, we had 2 natural gas hot water heaters installed. We immediately had a service call to replace the thermostat on one of them. Then recently, the other one had to be replaced because of the leaky tank. It was still in warranty, and we had to pay $425 for the old one to be removed and the new one installed. Now, this one has a bad thermostat and the A & E Factory Service is coming tomorrow to install the new thermostat. We have been inconvenienced by this for a couple of weeks as we have no hot water in the master bath. We were just lucky that we had one hot water heater working in the other part of the house.
