I bought my LG French Door Refrigerator in December of 2014. It cost over $3000 and I was told by the salesman at Home Depot how GREAT the linear Compressor is. I noticed on Sunday that the ice was melted and the temperature was rising. I found my LG information and called Customer service. I was told the earliest they could come out was 4 days later. They also told me that he could not uninstall the fridge. It had to be moved out of its slot so he could access it, and it had to be unplugged. I was also told that the compressor was under warranty, but the replacement would be 375-425 PLUS state tax. Well, after 4 days, I had to throw away all the food that was inside. Probably another $200/300. The guy came out and told me that he would order the parts, but my cell service was bad so he couldnt tell me if they even had the compressor in stock. He told me they would come out the next day, unless the part isnt available. Which, reading the forum, looks like its 5 weeks out. Terrible product. The Sad thing is, that Im a Realtor. I have caused at least 5 or 6 clients and friends to buy an LG fridge because, the compressor has a 10 year warranty... as if that does any good. Im a single Mom, and I feel like I have to earn my money twice. Once to kill it and bring it home, and again to make sure it doesnt fly out the window. Im angry, Frustrated, and defeated.

Updated on 3/30/2020: So after a good amount of time I thought maybe maybe our problems with this LG fridge was over. LG sent out a repairman who was a nice guy and over two appointments he attempted to fix the problems. And now a week or maybe two weeks later it’s so much worse. Now after correcting the ice maker issue by adapting or changing lines from the freezer to the ice maker and doing something else with the freezer motor or what have you, we notice this morning water leaking from the door where the ice maker is located. After trying to clean up the water we realize it’s not cold in the ice maker compartment and then realize the freezer is not working and half the contents are thawed or half thawed. It must have been happening during the night at some point. Now we have all this food about to ruin soon. This fridge is a nightmare. It has been 4 years of hell. It is just a waste of almost $4,000 dollars!Original Review: I had many LG products when I bought my $4,000 fridge. I was so excited and for us that’s an expensive purchase. Within a year the problems started. We’ve had the fridge fail several times including the famous linear compressor problem now in class action suit. But water runs inside the walls and freezes in the middle drawer chiller section. It rusts the wheels or rollers and now we can’t use the middle drawer. Not a crisper drawer inside but the big whole drawer in the middle which costs you another 1k to have the 4 drawer fridge. It’s useless. They can’t find the parts for the back wheels. The front ones don’t fit. They’ve sent out repair people which we have to pay for and they’ve sent out a dozen parts all of which don’t work and we pay for. We’ve been dealing with customer service supervisor Alexandra ** for 6 months and she can’t or won’t get anything done. LG is a scam company stealing money from consumers!!!

LG has a compressor issue! Our fridge is less than 11 weeks old and the freezer stopped working causing food to defrost and ice tray to melt with water on our hardwood floors. It has been 2 weeks now with daily phone calls to LGs call center. Call center DO NOT follow up on return calls, they book technicians that can not work of the fridge model and when I asked to speak to a supervisor I was told that they do not take calls??? Their most common line from the call center is Im so sorry. I have heard that comment every day for the past 2 weeks and still no fixes and now they have to talk to their technical group. If you are running a call center make your emplyees can solve an issue and not just note-takers. We purchased all major appliances from Trail Appliances (Edmonton) and they indicated they had no complaints with service from LG so beware as once the sale goes through they are not concerned with a customer.

Received brand new broken clothes dryer. Long waiting time before appliance repair was available, then after 2 trips to repair, left the dryer in parts and did not show for 3rd appointment. LG Appliance Company just keeps giving us delays and different stories every time we call. We want these returned and our money back. I have been extremely inconvenienced - during the holidays too - I have had to go to laundromat to dry my clothes. These appliances cost $2,000 and I have not even been able to use them!!! (Purchased from amazon.com. They have been notified).

After one month, I noticed that clothes and shoes smelled. Simple physics: you cant wash dirty clothes in less water and less detergent. LG 2350 front load washer does not rinse out the detergent from the clothes nor cleans them that well. Then the dryer dries that smell into the clothes. You perspire and your business colleagues say, “What’s that smell?” and you have to explain. Buy new clothes and shoes. I work far away from home that my skin got so irritated because of the detergent issue in the clothes. I got rashes and itched deep into my skin, leaving scars. The Best Buy rep came after I complained so much. He suggested we put clean load in wash on sanitary. The washer started sudding up with no detergent added and I have it on video. LG says there’s nothing wrong with their unit. They are liars—look at all these complaints!

We recently purchased a new LG refrigerator. Within less than 5 months, it stopped working and did not cool. Since it was still under warranty, we were directed to LG Support. Not only did the people on support line not speak English, we were told there were no LG techs in our area, and it would be 4 weeks before one could come out. Having no other options, we made the appointment. When our appointment date came, the tech was a no-show, and called an hour after the 6hour window to tell us he would not be coming, and the next available appointment would be an additional 2 weeks away. Again, having no other option, we agreed to the appointment time. During this time period we received a strange box on our doorstep, which contained nothing but packing foam - we were not informed of any shipments coming to us. This apparently was from LG and was supposed to contain parts needed for repair (again, it was just foam). When the tech came (6 weeks after the initial call - meaning we had no fridge for over a month at this point) he arrived and said that because the parts were not there (because they SENT US PACKING FOAM), he would have to come back another time. Again, the next available appointment was 2 more weeks away. Throughout the entire experience LG support was absolutely no help, did not try to help troubleshoot, find alternatives, and was completely incompetent (again, I refer you to the shipment of packing foam, and a 2 month timeline to repair a BRAND NEW refrigerator). I will never purchase another LG appliance after this experience, and have cautioned others not to as well.

I wanted to let everyone know that there is a class action lawsuit for the refrigerators with the light not going out. It has been settled. Our four-year-old refrigerator (LG Refrigerator Model No. LCF25760SW with French doors) is having ice maker problems too. There are no repairmen in our area. It leaked water out into the floor while we were at work and caused floor damage. I ordered another ice maker from someone that LG recommended. It still has problems. Home Depot is where I bought it, but I cant get them to give me a repairmans phone number either. I will never ever buy another LG product again as long as I live. If you live in the middle of nowhere, dont buy LG products! They are not worth the price at all or the trouble.

I bought the washing machine because of the large tub. I assumed I would be able to do good size loads, very reasonable but large. Not the case. I also expected the machine to wash the cloths. My laundry is not unusually soiled in anyway just normal day to day of a retired couple. Even a white towel load with a cup of bleach and the towels were not clean. The machine has a glass top so I watched as I put the load through again. The towels on the top never even were cycled through the soapy water (what little water there was). Because of this they also did not get rinsed adequately. To see just how well they did get rinsed I again put the same towel load in not adding any soap to see if any was still in the towels. The wash looked as though I had put detergent in as usual. I had used the very small amount of the detergent as instructed. I wish I had researched this washer before buying as I NEVER would have bought it. I was blinded by the size of the tub and hope to warn anyone else considering this machine. I have had it 3 weeks and will try to return it to Home Depot where I bought it but I am doubtful I will get very far with that.

I had an LG front load in the washer for six years and the bearing started to go out and needed to be replaced. I called LG and they sold me a warranty to fix the problem. A week later I was contacted by a local appliance store, who came out and looked at my machine. They said yes, it was a bearing problem, but they were not sure that LG would actually authorize the repair, even though I had called LG and specifically requested a bearing repair replacement and they had listened to the machine as it was operating and agreed that it was a bearing problem. The repair technician called them and they did agree to repair my machine. He ordered the parts and two weeks later showed up to do the repair. He worked on my machine for about three hours and finally got the job done. After he had reassembled my machine he said it would be a good idea to run a cycle to make sure it was all cleaned out after the repair. Without me doing anything, he started the machine, which sounded like it was working properly. He left and a few minutes later I left for an appointment. When I came back about 20 minutes later the door on the machine was knocked open the trashcan next to the machine was knocked over water was all over the floor, And the breaker to the machine had been tripped. I called the repair man and he came back within about an hour and looked at the machine. Now the tub, the plastic one that encircles the steel one, has a crack in it and was vibrating so violently inside the machine cabinet that it broke the heating element compartment and spewed water all over the entire inside of the machine in the electronics in there. I called LG to inquire what to do now and they basically say that they will not cover this repair because I should’ve not left the house with the washing machine running unattended. ** believable… I cannot believe that a company would say some such BS to a customer who contacted their repair department, purchased their recommended extended warranty, and used their certified repair technician. And keep in mind it was the technician who at the end of the repair said it would be a good idea to run an empty cycle to clean everything out of the washer. And he did not say you need to stay in the house with your washing machine. And I would imagine almost everybody has washed clothes and left the house with the washer running.I feel that LG has demonstrated incredibly poor customer service and corporate malfeasance with the way they are abusing people with their worthless warranty. I am considering legal action, and possibly a class action lawsuit to see how many other people they have treated in this way. If you have been treated this way, please call me and leave a message at **. Leave your contact information and tell me about your LG warranty nightmare experience. I will write it up and hopefully turn the materials over to a law firm.Nobody should be treated as poorly as I was… Basically they sent a technician into my home who completely destroy my washing machine in an attempt to repair my machine that obviously went wrong, and now LG is blaming me. Ridiculous. Outrageous. Nobody should be allowed to do business this way. I will also be contacting one of our local TV affiliates who does stories on problems like this and see if they want to pick this up. I am pissed and I imagine there are a lot of other people out there just like me.

LG has the worst customer service Ive ever experienced. The ice maker shorted and caused a fire in the freezer. The potential was there to extend into my home and cause major damage. In a nut shell, LG feels that because the fridge is out of warranty they wont do anything about it. I’ve dealt with LG stuff through the years and the products that I’ve gotten seemed to work very well. Aside from TVs and others, being in the elevator business, I have bought and installed LG elevators, which were good quality products. We got an LG refrigerator and it works well. It keeps the food cool. And when it’s working right, it keeps the ice cream hard, and I like that. I was just having an issue with the food getting warm. Their technician came out within a day and a half and fixed it, but didn’t get it right on the first time. When I told them it wasn’t working, they said they could come the following day, which was a Saturday. I was impressed that they came out even on a weekend. They took care of it early in the morning and got us up and running. So I was really happy. I had a big party planned and the technician got the refrigerator all fixed up before that. It started cooling down really well, and everything was fantastic. The technician was a nice gentleman, and very cooperative. He worked with us. All-around, I was happy with the service that I got from LG. And I would be calling them again if I have any problems with the refrigerator. I’m happy that they have their own service department. A lot of times you get different companies that are servicing the product, and they gotta run to LG to get the parts. The guy we had here is directly connected with LG, so it’s part of their system. And I know, being in the business, that if you’re dealing with the in-house manufacturer, they have better availability of parts and technical support than a middleman. You get a couple of people down this chain, and now you gotta order the parts and it takes longer. But the guy we had was able to come with the parts and then he did the job, and that makes the difference. I would absolutely recommend them.

We purchased all LG products and all of them have not lived up to our stand
We purchased all LG products and all of them have not lived up to our standards. The biggest problem is the knobs on the gas stove. The knobs should be ruled as DEFECTIVE and DANGEROUS. In my career I travel quite a bit and even though I have adult kids at home sometimes they do not notice when the gas is on because of the broken knobs. The white plastic on the insides have cracked causing the knobs to just turn but not completely turning the stove off. I have contacted LG and I too have been told to purchase new knobs, however you can purchase the knobs but the problem is still not fixed. I noticed that the new LG stoves have knobs that are very steady. Why not just replace the old knobs with the newer model knobs. I pray that before anything happens like gas explosions, gas leaks etc., they would ruled out that the knobs are defective and update all the former customers with the new knobs. A couple of thousand dollars is better than a couple of million for major lawsuits.

Cost me $350 to repair a one-year-old $500 dishwasher. Now my refrigerator compressor has died. This time, LG is covering the repair under warranty, and the experience over the phone with their customer service department hasnt been too bad. But from reading reviews, poor reliability is typical for LG appliances. I expect the new compressor wont last any longer than the original and Ill be going through this again in 18 months. A refrigerator should last at least 15 years. As the rest of my appliances die, they will NOT be replaced with LG.

I got 1 load without a smell, next load the smell is so bad I light candles in the room. I’ve even used the extra rinse hoping to push the water out of the machine...and I waited 2 months for this machine because I wanted the granite color. Don’t understand. First full year no problem. Now it’s terrible. Don’t know what to do. My husband & I are retired & don’t generate much laundry so this is VERY annoying???

Brand new LG top freezer refrigerator was replaced twice. None of the freezers could maintain a zero or lower temp - sometimes getting up to as much as 15. LG told me theyd send someone out but since the problem is random, if it isnt above zero, they will charge me for the call. INSTEAD of researching what LG has done in the past to fix this problem and just doing that repair, they insist I have to wait until the fridge constantly fails. Which is may or may not. Meanwhile, I cant protect food from freezer burn and spoilage. I called LG. Was disconnected. Called again. was put on hold 15 minutes and was disconnected. Called again. Was told someone would call me back. No one did. Emailed asking what the fix was for this issue and was told to read the owners manual and that I had to call their 800 number to talk to a person. The email contained a link to a chat which told me I was not authorized to use. So I have a new refrigerator with a useless freezer and no help from LG. All they need to do is tell me how the problem has been fixed for others. Instead, they not only lost a customer, I will caution others not to deal with LG.

Purchased an LG gas range on 06/28/2014 from HH Gregg. The 5 top burners work fine. The oven does not work properly. Set the temperature for 350 degrees, wait for over an hour for it to warm up to the correct temperature. And it will not exceed 320 temperature. Waited an additional hour to warm, gave up on dinner. Called LG technician on phone today, response was to put something to bake in the oven as it is warming up, and this would speed up and solve the heating problem. Again after one hour, oven reached a temperature of 295 only. Gave up again!

Purchased LFX31945SST LG French door stainless steel refrigerator. Delivered 11/5/2013. $3499.00 3 year warranty 99.00, new water line 9.99, move old fridge 15.99 tax 212.24 from Home Depot. Fridge still looks brand new, except bottom right-hand corner of control panel is peeling with an appearance of ink stain. Contacted LG service, person said it was a known problem, out of warranty, that I could buy an extended warranty for 2 months at $366. Plus. Please Note: They told me this is a known issue. I called Home Depot they said they could recommend a repair service company but it would be at my expense for this known issue. I have told both Home Depot and LG I will never buy another product from either company again. My recommendation to you is do not give your money to these companies. They will not stand behind what they sell. Help them lose market share and vote at other business with your dollars.

Worst built products ever! I purchased an LG full kitchen package in 2007. I have had issues with the cheaply made parts since day one. The customer service is of no help! I strongly do not recommend LG products to anyone! Between the factory and extended warranty, I have not been able to get any resolution for the replacement of the broken, poorly made parts for my refrigerator and range. Worst made appliances ever!

We purchased an lxsc22396s refrigerator and it stopped working within 90 days. We purchased this refrigerator on 05/24/18 (paid over $2000 for it) and on 07/23/18, it stopped dispensing water, the ice melted, it stopped cooling, and cost us over $250 of spoiled groceries. We contacted LG and they sent out a technician who perform a reset and stated that it will start working in about a week. We contacted LG again to request a loner fridge until ours starts working again. Jovy from LG told us that they cant do anything about it and we just have to wait until they fix it. Very poor customer service from LG. We also submitted a request for a refund for $250 of spoiled food. They told us that all managers were busy and would call us back later in the day. They never called us back. We havent had this refrigerator 90 days and its already giving us problems and costing us money.

I liked all the extra features the refrigerator offered. My lg had an automatic ice dispenser that gave crushed ice or cubed ice and also gave water. I liked that I could choose between crushed ice and ice cubes. I like to be able to get crushed ice for my drinks. When I drink soda and water I like crushed ice. When I make mixed drinks and daiquiris its easier to not have to crush the ice myself for so long. The temperature was not always the easiest to control though. Sometimes the refrigerator got too cold and my vegetables got frost on them. When I turn it down too low the vegetables all spoiled too quickly.

On November of 2011 I bought a top load LG washer, model WT5001CW. It worked great until a few months ago when the bleach dispenser area has begun to rot. It is so bad that the entire area where the bleach goes has come off the hinges and is just dangling off the base. When I contacted LG, I was told that the warranty did not cover cosmetic issues. When I asked to speak with a manager and explain that this more than a cosmetic issue, this is a manufactured defect! I was told that my case would be reviewed and they would get back with as soon as they made a decision. Two months later, I am yet to hear from them. This company needs to take responsibility for the manufacturing of their products.

2 1/2 years ago, I replaced all my kitchen appliances with brand new LG kitchen appliances. About 3 weeks ago, I noticed the refrigerator was not as cold as it should be so I tried to lower the temperature but the inside temperature did not change (50 degrees). I tried to contact someone to come out but nobody seems to service LG appliances (one company said they stopped serving LG about a year ago due to contractual issues). I called LG, they gave me the name and number of 2 companies that are “near” me. I called them and they do not service my area. LG said to have someone local come out and “diagnose“ then we can call them (LG) and they will “authorize” them father warranty work. Again, nobody wants to work on LG...I did schedule service with Sears, their earliest appointment was a week out. I scheduled the appointment, the day of scheduled appointment, they called to cancel due to tech being sick, rescheduled for the following week ...day of 2nd scheduled appointment, (today) another phone call canceling due to tech had “family emergency”....rescheduled for SEPTEMBER 10th!!! I called LG again and they have nothing to tell me other than their “customer service“ will call in 3-5 business days. I thought I was talking to customer service! I have never had such a problem to get something repaired. I am approaching a holiday weekend without a properly working refrigerator!!! Point is DO NOT BUY LG BECAUSE NOBODY WILL SERVICE THE APPLIANCES!!!

Bought this $2600.00 LG refrigerator 1 1/2 years ago and of course it breaks 6 months after warranty expiration. Theres only one servicer in our area. They came to diagnose the problem right away the week before July 4th and company is coming. They ordered the parts from LG but after no contact with them for days we finally called them and they inform us that the parts (Compressor and board) are on back order for 4 weeks (JULY 21st). The back order date is four weeks out!! And we lost over $50.00 in food. Thank god it wasnt more!!We had to buy a Samsung floor model (Cheaper) to get us by and not lose more food. Every time I call to get an update because no one calls us back, I get a foreign speaking person I can hardly understand and placed on hold for 10-50 Minutes!!! I have been told that there are at least 9 people in our area (Valdosta Ga) with this exact same issue with their LG refrigerators!! This is not acceptable! There are a few in a worse circumstance than us, such as an elder couple that just had open heart surgery and no refrigerator now! A single mother with 5 children to feed. Now the only service company in our area doesnt seem to know where the board is and LG says it was delivered! The service center DDD in Albany/Adel says they use a different vender Marcone and it is on back order with them not LG?! WTH!

My brother bought my mother a state-of-the-art LG washer. It is supposed to wash and dry all in one. At first, it worked good. However the drying failed and LG sent out a repair man. They told my mother that it was her fault that the machine was not working (pilot error) wrong! I tested it myself. I spent hours one night doing every combination the book asked and followed the repairmans advice as asked. It did not dry properly. I cleaned the traps and drain the water from the drain hole. My mother has had clothes all over the bathroom to dry her things. She has had LG get repair for the same problem over and over. This time it burst some sort of air line and made a screaming vent of air. I happen to have been visiting her when it happened. The repair man could find nothing wrong other than it not drying. Mom talks my ear off over the matter and all she wants is to wash and dry. She is running back and forth to the laundromat. She is 72 and should not have to have this type of problem. I know she will not run it now. The machine had scared her on the air whatever. The machine is still under warranty but all they do is try to rip her off. One service sent by LG wanted $65 to even touch something not covered. She asked if he could fix the garbage disposal and he did, and charged her $95. I was smoking hot when I heard. One he was there to fix the LG, but took her for 95 dollars for a clogged disposal. I am 300 miles away and all that keeps happening is I talk to the damn repairman via phone. Anybody have any idea on what I can do? The machine was over $1200 and it only washes a few things at a time. My brother was trying to make things easier for her getting the machine as a gift, but it has made her life hell. She would have been better with her old upright washer. And of course the machine worked the two days he visited. He was impressed with the bells, whistles and lights. How can a company like LG get away with this?

Not really happy with the machine nor LG customer service. My fiancé got a really good deal on the washer but a year later, we found out why the machine was discontinued. We could not take the machine back nor get our money back. We had the update and now I regret purchasing this machine. Some days I feel like the machine will still blow. I dont like how it bangs against the sides. It tends to keep running. What was a water saver is not a water saver no more. LG has really bad customer service and I think they should be giving refunds out. I cannot afford to buy a New machine and cannot sell this machine because I will never get my money back for the machine. LG gas range, purchased July 2015, not sure of the model. Beautiful appliance (hence the 2 stars instead of 1), but some issues: The 2 front burners on the cook top (the ones I use most), dont always want to ignite (have to check visually to make sure). A few months ago, started noticing that the oven would preheat correctly but not hold its temperature, so couldnt rely on it. Started getting F9 Heat Error while attempting to preheat, then the igniter failed entirely and had to be replaced. Cost me a few hundred bucks.Tonight, about an hour after turning the oven off, we heard a *crash* in the kitchen. I ran out to find that the outer glass on the oven door had shattered into a million bits and there was broken glass all over the floor. No one in the kitchen and nothing in the oven. Hours later, Im still hearing cracking and glass falling. This is dangerous. Thankfully it didnt happen while my dog was home alone. Not sure what to do at this point, whether its worth the cost of another repair or if I can even trust it, should I decide to go that way. The range was pricey, and Id hoped to get good and reliable use of it for a long time. Didnt expect to have problems within 3 years, certainly not 2 major problems within a month. Never bought LG before, probably wont again. Pretty disappointed, and wouldnt recommend to others, based on my experience.

My refrigerator is 5 years old (LFX28978ST/02). Purchased with every appliance as we were moving into a new home. Already went through one issue shortly after purchasing the fridge with the ice maker. They made it right, but the LG certified technicians had to come back multiple times because they really didnt know what they were doing. Now the latest adventure. Compressor went about a month and a half ago. Turns out the compressor has a 10 year warranty. Great, right? Not so much. Getting this problem resolved has been an absolute nightmare. After doing what they wanted me to (having a repairman come out), I found out labor was not included on the compressor. Fine. I found a very reputable company to inspect and agree to do the repair. Unfortunately, its a half a days work so talking $300-$400 just for labor. Decided to have it fixed rather than buy a new fridge.1st call - said I would have a response in 24 hours. 2nd call - said no, timing to hear something back is 24-48 hours. 3rd call - said no, timing is 3 days. 4th call - said no, timing is 3-5 days. I verified if the 5th day was guaranteed (in this case Friday). 5th call - said no, the day I called didnt count so need to wait until Monday. 6th call - show they called my repairman the day I called. (This would prove to be a trend-lies). 7th call - they called and left a VM to my repairman but left a wrong number to call back. Called back to get the number myself. They didnt have the number. They called my repairman (I dont know why - the customer service rep had no info for us) and he told them the same thing. Put in a request on his computer for service center to call my repairman back. 8th call - said they showed they sent out an e-mail with the info to my repairman (they did not).9th call - my repair man was on vacation so could not confirm anything until he returned. Heard nothing. Supposedly putting in their system to call him again. Nothing. 10th call - immediately asked for a supervisor. Transferred me to someone in the states (Huntsville, AL). She told me the other calls go to the Philippines and that the computer showed someone calling him the day I lodged the complaint (lie). Also told me my previous Confirmation/ID# (or whatever they call it) had been closed. Great! She opened a new number. This was Thursday the 17th. Told me my repairman would hear something in 5 business days and there was no way to expedite because there were so many people in front of me. Thursday should count as day one since I called in the morning. Nothing.11th call - Called back on Friday the 25th. Asked for a supervisor. This time did not get transferred to the states.I assume still the Philippines. Told me the computer showed they called my repair man the day I called the last supervisor. (At this point, I feel like they do this in their system in case they get sued so they can say... Look, we called him. He didnt answer. All lies) Promised someone would call my repair man in 30 minutes and an e-mail would follow. Nothing. 12th call - Called Monday the 28th (today). Again asked for a supervisor. Again, Philippines. Joe promised he would have my issue resolved and would not leave until it was. After missing 41 minutes of work, hung up on me. I guess the moral is, dont buy an LG anything! My stoves electronics are also starting to fail as well. They want you to give in so they dont have to ship a compressor that will probably fail again anyway, but Im not giving up. Back to the phone...

Options were priority #1 but cost vs options was a big consideration. Loved the steam dryer feature but wasnt a fan of the track record that front loading washers have with having to be cleaned regularly. However, thats been a minimal issue since we purchased them two years ago. Brand reputation and capacity is a plus as we have 2 kids and very busy schedules. Our need is to do large loads fast. So far thats been the result. Regular repair and low quality construction would be instant turn-offs for my wife and I. But we likely wouldnt look at anything that would fall into those categories anyway. We have the two red LG front loading washer and dryer set with the steam dry option. Were able to load the washer up with large amounts of clothes regularly and wash them quickly, and we actually saw a drop in our water bill after we brought them home. We opted against the pedestals, but were reconsidering that thought as they are a little short for a guy who is 63 and does his own washing. So far, not a single major issue.

We purchased a brand new LG washer and dryer in May 2013. Last week the washer stopped working and gave us an OE error. After the repairman came yesterday (Tuesday), we have to wait ANOTHER week for pump that was broken. I have been to the laundromat this morning to the tune of $20 to wash and dry clothes, not to mention the time wasted sitting there. Stains remain, the clothes appear dingy, and after the load is complete, all the clothes are twisted together in knots. I have to separately untangle each piece in the load before placing in the dryer. No agitator in the top loader, insufficient water, spin speed ties clothes in knots. Both told me to throw the refrigerator out. It is only 5 years old. Cost me almost 2500.00 new from Brandsmart. I purchased a model LFX8968 refrigerator from Home Depot. Within the first year I had to spend $170 to have a heating element put in the bottom of the unit so it would have frozen water build up in the freezer section (bottom drawer). For the last year and half, the French door which holds the ice maker leaks all over the floor, the ice reservoir melts all the ice cubes together and jams the ice dispenser. Home Depot will not stand behind the product and after hours with LG customer service, Ive given up. LG customer service has actually hung up on me three times and I was respectful - no yelling. Purchase Lg Range at best buy in Oct. 2013 with two year warranty. Range broke, it’s over two weeks- still waiting to be repaired. Made an appointment with LG Customer care Monday. Technician came out Thursday, claimed the parts that was sent to my house by customer care were wrong, so he ordered the part using his cell phone and he gave us time and day that he will be back Saturday same week between 11:00 am to 1:00pm. We waited and he didnt call us. We called him back after 1pm. He didnt get the part. Made another appointment with him, we said Monday morning we’re at home. We go to tampa to work from Monday afternoon and be back Wednesday night, he said available to come Tuesday. We have to work so made arrangement for him to come on Thursday. He said okay, Thursday Jan. 22, between 12:00-1:30. We waited - no calls so we called him back after 1:00. He said “I thought it was done”, we asked “did you get the parts you needed?” He said “yes”, so why he said he thought it was done if he still has the part with him. He said that we did not call LG customer service to make an appointment for him to come, I said: “You gave me a time and date that you will come out Thursday between 12:00 and 1:30pm, why do I need to call LG to make an appointment if you made an arrangement to come?” So, I called LG customer care again and spoke with RJ and advise me that I dont have to call him back because he will be sure that he will call us (Bill the technician) to call us back. Waited again - no call from him so, I called LG back again and spoke with Kyle - couldnt help me, transfer me to Willie, the supervisor, and he said that the LG policy is for the customers to call back to make an appointment AGAIN, if the technician couldnt make it again, and to make another claim to have the stove fix. And then I was transferred to LG Premier Care, spoke with Carnecsha and I told her I will file complaint and Ill call Consumer Advocate to complain. She told me I couldnt do and I told her “why not, we’ve been pushed run around, as a consumer we have rights, this is our life, we bought the warranty as we were told by sales people.” And then she transferred me to Best Buy to the Geek squad who carries the warranty that we bought, and then transferred again to LG to make another arrangement for technician to come out.

I took it upon myself to get someone out and had it fixed by Monday. They are very good at jacking people around and it ended up costing me 743.00 for a new compressor which is covered by LG but they said since I didnt call who they told me to they werent covering it. I had Sears products for 20 years and never had a problem. As a company we keeping signing on for these foreign products and they just dont last. I will never purchase another LG product and I will tell as many people I know the same information.

I purchased the LG Probake gas range 2 1/2 years ago. Of course after a year the warranty was up and I had to have it repaired. It cost 300.00 to repair and it is very hard to find someone to work on it. I was told LG doesnt have spec sheets for anyone to repair their products. It makes it hard. I was also told that it is hard to find parts as LG Discontinues them frequently. Got it fixed in December of 2019 and here we are again. The convection oven stopped working and was shooting out flames. I researched and found out this always fails on this range. Totally disappointed. Couldnt find anyone to repair it in my area and I tried to order the part for it and spent an additional 80.00. Still can not get it to work. Now I am at the point of buying a different range and definitely wont be an LG. I am so upset. I wasted my money. It was the first brand new range I purchased for my family and I have only had it for 2 and a half years.

Three months ago I moved into a home with newer LG appliances. Recently, the freezer and refrigerator stopped keeping the food frozen or even cold. This was on Friday evening, so I searched online for possible solutions. I found a YouTube video of someone with the same fridge as I who had the same problem and he solved it by unplugging the fridge and plugging it back in. We did that, but it did not get colder. On Saturday I called the 1-800 number listed in the Smart Diagnosis section of the manual, hoping for this to tell me what was wrong and get it repaired quickly. The employee who answered the phone said they did not have the software to do this. He could send out a technician, but nobody would be available until after the weekend. I had to take the day off work to stay at home, waiting, only to be told that the technician didnt have a new compressor with him. He said he would order one, and although it would be here the next day, the technician didnt have the availability to come back until three days later. By this time, we had to throw away literally everything in both the fridge and freezer. Hundreds of dollars worth of food, not to mention all of the money spent having to eat at restaurants because of the spoiled food.Another day off work and the technician was able to replace the compressor. Thankfully it was still under warranty. He told us to wait until the next day to fill it with anything that needs to be cold as to ensure it is working correctly. He said that he hadnt had a replaced compressor fail yet. We waited 48 hours before we went back to the grocery store to fully replace what we had lost. That was yesterday.Today, I noticed the ice melting and dripping through the dispenser. I call the 1-800 number yet again, and am told, yet again, that Smart Diagnosis is unable to be used because of the lack of software. Unfortunately this time the employee says that she is unable to schedule a technician to visit because that is unavailable to her. When asked to speak with a supervisor I was told that there wasnt anyone available, but someone from the corporate office would contact me within 72 hours. 72 hours? No supervisor or manager available for simple customer service? UNACCEPTABLE!! This appliance needs to be replaced, not bandaged with defective parts. Parts fail, I understand that, but the level of customer service from LG has me unwilling to ever buy another LG appliance.

We own a lot of LG products so when we were in the market for a new stove, we went straight to the LG section. Well my burner on my range wont turn off. I called LG and they told me my model was on recall and they were aware of the problem. The tech came out and said he had to order the part. Then after spending way too much time on hold (One guy didnt even put me on hold, he put me on mute for 20 minutes!!!), they told me my range was not on the recall list!!! So I would be responsible for the parts and labor!! I then spoke to the supervisor who basically told me there was nothing she could do. So what am I supposed to do with this defected stove... leave the burner on and burn down my house? Not only that the number they gave me for the tech was no longer in service, I had to Google the company myself and provided LG with the correct number... For that alone they should fix my stove! So I will be contacting the better business bureau ...Heres the real kicker, Im hosting Thanksgiving dinner at my house!!! LG stands for Lousy Grinches! They stole my Thanksgiving. Maybe Santa will bring me a real stove... by Maytag.

LG Washing Machine Front Loading WM235OH*C - mold in unit: As the other 899 complaints, I purchased my Washer and Dryer Set 5/9/2011. From day one, the detergent dispenser had standing water and the tub would get a foul odor. I read the owner’s manual and it stated that both were common. The foul odor could be removed with a HE washing machine cleaner and it should be used monthly. It is also recommended to leave the door ajar. I also called customer service and they confirmed that both were normal. I started noticing mold spots on the detergent dispenser tray and would clean it and run an extra load of bleach through the machine. My clothes were not cleaning properly and the smell never went away. On 12.13.12, I noticed more mold spots so this time I had my husband completely take the top off the machine and remove the dispenser tray. The tray and plastic gasket that allows the detergent to flow into the machine were covered in solid black mold. I called LG immediately and offered to forward pictures. The rep I spoke to, was very empathic and stated that LG will back their product and either replace or refund the machine. She also promised that someone from the Executive Team would call me the next morning to handle this issue quickly for me. No one called me. At 3:00 pm, I finally called them back and this time my phone conversation was very different - no one was going to do anything. They could send out a repair tech but that would cost me and most likely find nothing wrong since standing water and odor is normal. They stated the mold came from not using HE detergent and not cleaning the machine. I told her, “I am not stupid, of course I followed the owner’s manual not to mention all the stickers on the machine that say only use HE detergent.” The commercials on TV indicate to only use HE detergent for HE machines and to avoid the smell from the tub, use the HE cleanser monthly. Duh. Really. If I was that stupid, I wouldn’t be calling anyone. I told them I would be more than happy to forward the pictures of the mold and articles on the health risks that black mold offers. She stated that LG would not replace, refund, or promise repair on the machine. I agree with all the other 899 people. Do not buy LG. Do not throw away money and very important - do not place your health at risk

We bought an LG washer and dryer in March of 2014 from Lowes. Fortunate for us, we bought the extended warranty. In that time until now both machines have been serviced by at least 5 different visits. The washer is the main culprit. It will not complete an entire wash cycle without errors or not washing them at all. The technicians who come and repair them stated these machines are the worst to repair. They really could not find a certain problem but continue to throw parts at them. The dryer would not heat or dry clothes but seems to be doing better for now. The washer decided to give us a new code last night when it it began to quit yet again, OE. Reading online this is an error with pump malfunction, kinked drain tube or filter. Now after checking tube and drain, neither is clogged, but now the washer will not drain and has foul smelling water in it. At this point we are done with these machines. We are going to look for a new washer today, preferably with manual controls. We will keep the dryer until it breaks again, which is likely. These machines being a little over two years old should not be breaking down so often. I will not buy another, ever again, and warning others to do the same. The warranty is almost up and rather having to sit around all day on the appointment day waiting for a technician arrive, we will just take the loss and get another washer. I bought LG Tromm set washer and dryer on 10/12/2006. The washer has been a constant problem, and currently, I have been without the use of this machine as it has been waiting for parts. A service man came today to do the repairs (2 weeks without the parts) and found that the drum is bad and stated the machine is junk.I am with American Bankers on an extended warranty that expires today, and I now must wait even longer to see what they are going to do about this machine. The drum has created holes in the front assembly of the machine, and there is even a chance that they do not even make the parts any more. I feel that they need to do something immediately as we have waited long enough for the parts, and now, there are more issues.I would never buy appliances from a store that does not provide their own service contract as that seems to be what is causing such delays in this issue. Why pay good money for the machine and more good money for the service contract, only to be sitting and going on 3 weeks with no washer and no one contacting us to tell us what they are going to do about this issue? This is the worst washing machine I have ever owned, and I will never buy another LG product.

Two months after the warranty expired, all 3 circuit boards went out. The corporate technician was no longer allowed to come out, and we were forced to use a new company that only services LG on Fridays. Weve been doing dishes by hand for 6 weeks, and still, dont have the parts. It will be two more weeks at the minimum before repair is complete due to LG policy, parts distro, and customer service. I had my refrigerator just a few months before it started freezing my food in the produce bins. I had it repaired only to have it do it again and the refrigerator temperature would fluctuate. Again I had it serviced only to have it happen again and then it would not keep my overall refrigerator cold enough. I have lost food and then been without a refrigerator in between repairs. Now they are going to replace it but I am now without a refrigerator while paper works needs to be submitted and processed. Then I will have to wait for LG to replace the refrigerator which I was told would be approximately 7-10 days after the paper work was done. My advice would be get another brand!!

Bought an LG, top-load washer, 3 years ago, model # WT1101CW. There are only 3 of us in the household so the washer was used lightly. Last night it decided to commit suicide. The washer plate and the drive shaft assembly broke into pieces while washing a single shirt. I later found out, this was only half of my problem. The following day I spent 3 hours ping-ponging back and forth with LG customer service (which is in the Philippines... ie, broken English) and Encompass, their third-party parts department. Neither can answer any technical questions and will only ask for a part number.I finally received a phone number for technical questions, but upon calling had to provide a service ID number, which I dont have because I am not a certified technician. Now LG is telling me not to fix it myself, but to call a service technician. I called and they said they would send someone out within 7 days and they would look at it and order parts and that would take another 7-10 days. Once the parts arrive they will send a service technician out to fix it. So, I can use a laundromat for the next 2 to 3 weeks, and then pay a hefty repair bill, or I can just go buy another washing machine from a reputable company that actually provides customer service, and in English. Never again LG! Only 3 years and this LG washer will now be in a landfill. If everybody knew how poorly built these machines are and the non-existent customer that LG provides, LG would be out of business. I can only hope at this point.

When I decided to purchase this washer, I chose LG expecting to be dealing with one of the top corporations in electronics. What a disappointment! On trying to have it repaired - error message indicating the machine is not draining - I contacted you asking for a local authorized dealer. I was given the name of RISING SERVING SOLUTIONS whom I contacted and got an appointment for a WEEK LATER. So far, after 3 visits of their technician who changed the drain motor twice, the brain of the machine and having paid $390 for the repair, I continue to have the same exact problem. On my last conversation with the technician he alleged that the problem is with the drain hose/pipe.Although Im not knowledgeable on the subject this explanation makes no sense, since the machine drains water properly on the wash and rinse cycles, presenting the problem only on the spin going on to dry cycle. Calling twice and speaking to your supervisors at customer service led nowhere. What to do next?

Like others have mentioned, the lint filter on the dryer lifts up on the corner where the clothes land as they tumble. This causes clothes to catch on the corner of the filter and get destroyed. This also allows more lint to get through past the filter, causing lint to buildup inside the dryer and in the ducts leading outside your home. Weve lost countless articles of clothing. We have replaced the lint filter, but it still sticks out and catches clothes.

I purchased LG Waveforce Top Loading Washer WT5001cw and Gas Dryer Set on 7/9/11 from Best Buy. I had a little issue of leaking that out of nowhere was resolved. On 10/31/2102, I went to the washer to get my whites out. I couldnt open the washer because it was locked. I pressed the power button & it would not turn on. I pulled out the manual to troubleshoot the issue. There was nothing in the manual to address this issue. I then called LG. I talked to a rep out of a call center in the country of Panama. The person told me to unplug unit for 30 seconds to reset. I did this. That did not work. The person then told me to check the circuit breaker to see if the outlet tripped. I checked the circuit breaker & everything checked out normal. That did not fix issue. They told me to plug it into a different outlet. I did this. That did not fix issue. I told rep that I smelled a burning smell coming from unit. The rep told me to unplug unit. I immediately unplugged unit. Rep stated that since the unit was a bit over warranty, I would have to send my original receipt to them to be approved for an extended warranty. I faxed LG the documents they requested. As we waited days to see if this warranty was going to be approved, on Sunday, 11/4/12, my husband went down to basement to see if washer would turn on. He plugged it back in & smelt a burning smell & saw smoke coming from the back of unit. He took off a small white cover in the back to see what was happening. We found out that the main power source in the washer had caught on fire and this wasnt the first time since 10/31/12. We immediately called LG to report this & they seemed uninterested in helping us. This call center was in Asia. We also took many pictures. This rep told us we needed to contact LG on Monday to find out what to do next. On Monday, we called & talked to a rep in the USA by the name of Adrianne **, a supposed supervisor for LG. She wasnt helpful whatsoever and she was extremely rude. She made us re-fax and email another copy of original sales receipt to call us a few hours later to tell us that we were not approved for the extended warranty. She said her superiors told her that because we took off the back panel, we voided the warranty or any option for an extended. We were like Are you ** kidding us? This was an emergency situation of an LG appliance on fire in our home and it caught on fire previously days before this. Then this stupid rep told us to go to Best Buy to see if they could do anything for us, which we did that same night, which was tonight. The Best Buy manager pretty much laughed (not at us) as they were shocked LG told us to go back to them. Now, we are in a situation of being without a washer. We are trying to figure out what to do next. This appliance cannot be repaired. Even if it could, we dont want a fire hazard in our home or have to worry about it re-catching on fire in future.

I have the LG model WM2140CW washer and dryer for about 2 years. I have cleaned the gasket, inside of the tub, and door on the washing machine as directed by the manufacturer and run bleach through the tub clean cycle and still cannot get rid of the moldy smell. When cleaning the gasket, I noticed mold and mildew on the gasket and have cleaned them with modified bleach and even used Q-tips to remove the mold, it just comes back. Even after you wipe the gaskets off after each wash, you cannot get all of the mold out of the gaskets and this transfers to your clothes, sometimes needing to be rewashed 2 or 3 times. I keep the door open for ventilation but there is no way for the gasket area to stay completely dry. The smell is so bad at times you have to close the laundry room door to keep it from reeking into the rest of the house. I am calling for service this week but I know what they are going to tell me which is exactly what I have been doing. I would not recommend this LG set to anyone. I plan on going back to a top loading washer just to get the smell out of my house and clothes. As far as the dryer, I have to run it 2 to 3 times just to get clothes dry. Avoid LG at all costs.

We purchased the LG French door, bottom freezer about 5 years ago. We spent the extra money because we thought that LG was one of the best at the time. This model has only the water-in-the-door; icemaker in bottom drawer. The salesperson showed us why THIS bottom drawer was better than others with the same idea: the gear-type rollers were more substantial and the slides were larger. The rationale was that it would be more durable. In the past year, the freezer drawer is becoming harder and harder to pull out and/or push in. I have taken the bin out and found grease/graphite on the bottom of the unit and along the left rail. Water from the icemaker also tends to build up as it sometimes drips onto the left rail, making the rolling very difficult. After wiping it out, it seems to be fine for a few hours...then its hard again. We have had it with LG appliances. We had an LG dishwasher that nobody would work on. The LG washer/dryer that we have, are doing OK for now, but the bellows in the bottom of the washer where the water is pumped has cracked twice in 5 years, allowing water to run get on the floor. I should have had a pan put under the washer, but this indicates either bad engineering or bad design.

Bought our LG for $1,700 in Nov. 2005 from Carls Appliances, Fairfield, NJ. It broke piece by plastic piece the first 6 mos of use. Clip broke that keeps left door shut. Drawers snapped off. Freezer leaks uncontrollably forming 1/2 inch thick slab of ice on bottom of freezer. Light inside on top of fridge so hot it warped entire light casing & recently burnt a hole in the plastic cap on an almond milk container kept on the top shelf! - (the light is being repaired by LG in 2 days because they lost a class action suit for knowledgeably selling defective refrigerators that could cause fire.) a recall that we (as a registered purchaser) were not notified about by LG.

No response at all even 4 days after submitting complaint about product problem. They gave me case number of **. I found a problem of condensation, top left side of the front panel on my new 5 month old LG refrigerator to contact a LG customer representative to get case number. I submitted photos showing the problem with model number. They asked me serial number but I could not find any near area where I found model number. I asked them where was the serial number but they did not respond either. They do not have any respect at all to their customer. I will not recommend this company to anyone. I bought many home appliances when I moved into my house. One company which I called about a strange issue on my oven made a schedule of tech people visit to my home right on the phone. This LG customer support people are ignoring and so slow.

My LG french door Refrigerator & Freezer stopped cooling after 7 years
My LG french door Refrigerator & Freezer stopped cooling after 7 years of no issues. Called LG repair department on (4/14) and they scheduled me with an LG certified technician. The Tech (Hector) arrived at my house on time on (04/17), and fixed my fridge very professionally. The complete cost of repair was reasonable since I was not charged with a new compressor (old one was under 10 years warranty). Currently, (04/26), my fridge is working with no issues. I hesitated at first to pay the upfront charge but it ended up being well worth it so far. I'm crossing my fingers. :-)

Run from LG Refrigerators! Do not buy one! They are the worst and the company is terrible when requesting warranty service!!! We have had an LG fridge for 6 years. It is now on its 3rd complete compressor failure. When calling LG I keep getting told by their customer service that we are in the queue. Fridge has been broken for 7 day and we are still in the queue. The customer service person hopes we will be up in another 24-48 hours. After we get out of the queue, it can take 3-5 days for a service person to get parts. What a bunch of crap! Crappy fridge, crappy customer service, crappy company! Avoid LG!!!!

We just purchased an LG kitchen package including the glass top electric LG range with knobs on the front (LSE4613/LSE4611) and had it delivered on 7/11/20. We have had it in our home for one week and weve accidentally turned the front knobs on multiple times by reaching into the microwave, cleaning the back splash, or reaching above into a cabinet. The knobs should not be that easy to turn. They are a push and turn style knob. We went back to the store to begin an exchange process for a model with the knobs in the back, but we are very disappointed because we like the appearance of this style much better. We are shocked by how easy it is to turn these knobs and really dont want to have to resort to ugly child proofing on our brand new appliances. Is there a better option?
