This machine has cost me hundreds of hours babysitting it. It will not finish a load on time nor does it ever complete a spin cycle without reloading it or taking items out, and trying over and over to balance it... I must say I HATE this machine and would strongly advise no one to purchase it. It is a waste of money and time. My energy bill has increased since this machine has come into my home, along with my water usage... Never again will I buy a LG.

Purchased an LG side by side model #LFXC24726S several years ago (2015?). The compressor went out and after reading the angry reviews on this site, I feared the worst. I called up LG, and after about 10 minutes they had scheduled a repairman to fix the fridge in two days. LG overnighted the replacement part and paid for the repair. The fridge is now humming along and everyone is happy. Thank you LG for the excellent service!

You know I expected that LG would be a good company and that if should something happen to my recently purchased LG fridge, that they would provide good service to me. How wrong I was. LG really let me down with not just their product - this new expensive fridge that broke that just after 1 year, but especially with their service. I asked if they could provide a service technician and the only one in my area wont repair the coolant system. So they purposely have the only technician in the Greater Vancouver area not do coolant systems. This seems designed to frustrate customers. They then said they could get another technician a week later who would cost $500 for labor (5 times the other service rate). In the end, I decided to scrap my fairly new fridge and get a KitchenAid fridge because its a better quality product and KitchenAid does right by its customers. LG is a really terrible company and I would recommend staying away from their products if you dont want to go through service hell.

Update on 06/11/2020: It is now June 11th and there still is no resolve even though my original review states there is a resolution in process. It is true that LG reached out to me as shown below however, I responded to them and I have heard nothing back. As far as Im concerned, this reaching out with a form e-mail is just more of the same. If I could give LG zero stars I would.Original Review: I have a top of the line washer that is still under warranty that will not run. I called LG on 5/30 and it was determined by them someone needed to come to my home. I was assigned to a second rate authorized agent that operates out of his home. I called this agent on 6/2 because I never heard from them during the 24-48 business hour time frame. (It was at this point that I did some research on who they were and found bad reviews for them.) To make a very long story short I was promised on 6/2 that a reputable company I found would be assigned to me and it would be 24-48 hours before Id hear. I found this company on LGs website as an authorized service agent and when I called them directly, they informed me they were available to come out the next day if LG would assign it to them. As I said, LG promised this would be done. When I heard nothing, I called them once again on 6/4. I spoke with a very nice rep (her name was Jess) who transferred me to executive services and I was told by that lady that the company I requested had no availability. I informed her that I had been told they would be able to come out the following day if LG would assign it to them and this is what was supposed to be being done. When I asked her to hold for a minute, I placed a call to the company I requested and as I began leaving a message as to what I had been told by LG, the LG executive services lady hung up on me. She was able to hear me leaving this message as I was using a separate phone line. So, this morning I called the authorized agent and told them what I had been told (that they had no availability) and I was told that simply was not true. So, I called LG back and this time I was told by the authorized agent I spoke with didnt have an open contract with them and they couldnt be assigned to me. Finally, the truth! In other words, they didnt have a negotiated rate with LG, much like it is with HMO Insurance. At any rate, he contacted the authorized to see if they would agree to make my repair with just an order # and they agreed they would, however, LG has to send them the amount they are willing to pay and if the authorized agent agrees to it they will do the repair and if not, we are back to square one. So, they have till Monday (6/8) to get back with me however, they will only be contacting me if its a go. If not, I have to call them back and start all over. I have a feeling I will be calling them back to start at square one. LIFE certainly isnt GOOD! I purchased this machine based on Consumer Reports testing and we were just about to buy an LG Smart TV and soundbar because they also have a very high rating. But there is no way we are going to based solely on the fact that they have horrible customer service!

In 2012 we purchased an LG French Door refrigerator - the most expensive fridge weve ever had - to update our kitchen appliances. In 2013, the freezer section malfunctioned, food defrosted. Since we had the extended warranty, the freezer problem was repaired, but we still had the loss of food. Several months later, we discovered the food in the refrigerator section was freezing. After trying to adjust the temp according to the manual, we called the warranty insurance & since we have the gadget that is supposed to diagnose the problem, allow parts to come with the service person, had this done. Of course he had to order parts. White refrigerator, a black gasket arrived. More parts ordered. Weeks later, same problem. 2nd technician said 1st repair was not done properly, so more parts. More food loss each time. In March 2014, same problem with food freezing in fridge section. We have been waiting 3 weeks for proper parts (again, wrong color gasket seal sent - so another wait). Also yellow discolorations all over the white door, and neither LG nor the warranty insurance will cover this, as its considered cosmetic. So our nearly $3000 refrigerator is the worst appliance weve ever owned. Have complained to LG, nothing resolved. Can you say LEMON? Needless to say, when warranty coverage is over, appliance will be replaced and NOT with an LG!

Bought a brand new stacking washer/ dryer set in March of 2018. Loved the features and functions, and it ran smooth and quiet. By January 2019, the door hinge had seized, and we noticed dried soapy residue under the left side of the machine. Had to argue with LG to replace hinge under warranty, and they tried to charge me to un-stack the unit. The tech said that we should be more careful loading soap into the tray, and that dripping soap gets on the hinges and eats the metal. Seems like a pretty big problem for a washing machine where the dispenser tray is right above the door hinge.By April, the latch had also failed, but was out of warranty. Fortunately I had purchased an extended warranty. They also tried to hit me for $150 to un-stack the unit. Now here we are in June 2019, with a seized hinge again! Door wont fully open or close, and now the door leaks when a cycle is run. However, the unit is also leaking from inside the soap apparatus somewhere inside the machine. The entire leg, face plate, and the inside of the machine is rusting below the soap tray. This probably caused the first hinge issue.Warranty company says it is a pre-existing condition and will not cover corrosion and rust related issues as that should be by the manufacturer. LG says its not their problem, and only offer a 90 day warranty on first hinge replacement, which is expired. I am now on the hook for the entire repair, which is yet to be determined (since I have to pay for someone to even come out and tell me what is wrong). Not even a year into it, and this thing is a piece of garbage. With the two units, tax, delivery, installation, extended warranty, new floor pan, etc., I spent $2000.00 on this set, and all of that is completely worthless when you have a problem with it.

I had friends and relatives who spoke quite highly of LG. And because I trust their judgment, I decided to heed their recommendation. And Im so very glad that I did, because my experience with LG has been nothing short of wonderful so far. Spacious freezer, sleek design, compact, portable and ease of use is off the charts. Indeed, most of the features are satisfactory and I can think of few, if any, that arent. Though the bottom shelves are somewhat small for my liking. Theres too little room to store all of the cheeses, cold cuts, etc. That we consume as a family. But thats obviously a very small inconvenience.

So far haven’t had any problems with my LG washing machine. It is easy to operate and cleans the clothes perfectly. You can choose your own cycle but typically I usually just have normal loads unless I am doing a towel or blanket wash in which I choose one of the heavier load settings. I love that I can also add an extra rinse or 2 to any load as well.

This washer is not a true balance washer as stated. It will pause with the UE code so I can redistribute the clothes or fill with water and try to re balance on its own adding an additional 10 min to 3 hours worth of wash time every single load. It will display UE regardless of light, medium or heavy loads. It wont even allow me to do the full tub clean option without pausing with the UE. No kidding!! I have called LG in regards to this matter and they state that the washer must not be balanced (and I assure you it is and has been checked with a level to see if I am losing my mind.) I do not understand why this washer is being sold still and not recalled. This is in regards to the LG Model WT4870CW Washer.

I remodeled my kitchen at the end of 2015 and bought brand new LG appliances: a fridge, a range and a dishwasher. The fridge broke twice since. The dishwasher broke once. The range has not broken yet BUT all the markings on the knobs came off and it is very hard to know at what temperature we are setting the burners. This has been for me an awful experience. I will never buy LG again.

14-month-old drain hose ruptured, service call repair at my costs. A year later drain pump burned out and ruined many clothes as they mildewed and that smell does not come out. Now another year later, washer just continues to fill with water, tried to turn power off with power button but power would just keep turning itself back on, even with power secured water kept coming. Had to shut off water supply, costing more than this washer is worth. Could have bought cheap washer for the cost of repairs and been ahead. Washer not worth the money or cost of repairs with continual breakdowns. You are welcome to contact me. Thank you.

We purchased an expensive LG French Door Refrigerator LFXS30766S/02 October 31, 2015. Two weeks and a half weeks ago (at not even three years old), the ice in the door melted all over the floor. Then, the whole thing died. I called LG and was told that someone would call back in 3-5 business days to schedule an appointment. No one called. A few days later, two huge boxes from FedEx randomly showed up. They sent a compressor and two other parts without even looking at it. Still no call. After reading an overwhelming amount of complaints/reviews and finding out that no one around here is willing to work on LG, we decided to just purchase a new refrigerator. We had lost at least $500.00 worth of food and not taking any chances. Who knows how long we would have had to wait. At 12 days in, LG called to see if anyone had called. I had told them no. 14 days in, another person called to ask the same question. I cant believe they havent been held accountable for this issue. Thankfully, we had our new refrigerator delivered this morning and had the LG piece of junk hauled away. We will never purchase ANY LG product again.

Power wave technology will not activate on new washer! New WT5070CW washer
Power wave technology will not activate on new washer! New WT5070CW washer arrived. I tried five different cycles and none can produce the powerful jets advertised as LGs Wave Force technology. Technician can only get the wave force action to occur while the washer is in test mode. The Wave Force action appears to be created by centrifugal force of the spinning drum. The drum will not spin fast enough on any cycle to create the wave force action. I am an engineer and it appears that the RPM setting on the motors variable frequency drive is not set high enough to create the wave force action. Hopefully, this is just a software glitch that LG engineers will quickly figure out. I plan on returning quickly if LG does not step up and fix the problem! Is anyone else experiencing this?

My dryer is 3 months old and has never worked. I have a backup of 8 giant garbage bags of dirty clothes because the drying takes so long. (The 4 yr old washer is fine.) The LG repairman says maybe its the venting but the venting man (when one can be found) says the venting is clear and correctly installed. I have spent days on the phone seeking service!I can only run the dryer on its timer, or else it will quit in about 4 minutes. When on its timer, every 20 minutes I have to open its front door, let out humidity, have an extra washcloth to wipe out moisture and lint from around the front door. This seems to show me that the interior is not designed to let moist air out. Heat goes out the vent but not moisture and lint. Current laundry is still damp after 3 such 20 minute cycles. Because of its recent cost I cannot afford to replace it. You should not have to experience this. Whatever happened to LG?

Since the day I bought my LG fridge I have had issues, a leaky water dispenser and frost building up in my freezer so I can’t use it. LG has sent repair here at least 9 times and they refuse to replace the fridge. There is always an excuse. The freezer door has been replaced 3 times and repair just left and LG had them here to verify that the fridge needs replacing. Once again they refuse to do so and are ordering another freezer door. Customer service lies to you on the phone and you just keep going around in circles. I spent a lot of money on this fridge as a replacement after our house being hit by a tornado and I am appalled at the treatment we have received! Shame on you LG! If I could rate it a zero I would!

My refrigerator is 5 years old (LFX28978ST/02). Purchased with every appliance as we were moving into a new home. Already went through one issue shortly after purchasing the fridge with the ice maker. They made it right, but the LG certified technicians had to come back multiple times because they really didnt know what they were doing. Now the latest adventure. Compressor went about a month and a half ago. Turns out the compressor has a 10 year warranty. Great, right? Not so much. Getting this problem resolved has been an absolute nightmare. After doing what they wanted me to (having a repairman come out), I found out labor was not included on the compressor. Fine. I found a very reputable company to inspect and agree to do the repair. Unfortunately, its a half a days work so talking $300-$400 just for labor. Decided to have it fixed rather than buy a new fridge.1st call - said I would have a response in 24 hours. 2nd call - said no, timing to hear something back is 24-48 hours. 3rd call - said no, timing is 3 days. 4th call - said no, timing is 3-5 days. I verified if the 5th day was guaranteed (in this case Friday). 5th call - said no, the day I called didnt count so need to wait until Monday. 6th call - show they called my repairman the day I called. (This would prove to be a trend-lies). 7th call - they called and left a VM to my repairman but left a wrong number to call back. Called back to get the number myself. They didnt have the number. They called my repairman (I dont know why - the customer service rep had no info for us) and he told them the same thing. Put in a request on his computer for service center to call my repairman back. 8th call - said they showed they sent out an e-mail with the info to my repairman (they did not).9th call - my repair man was on vacation so could not confirm anything until he returned. Heard nothing. Supposedly putting in their system to call him again. Nothing. 10th call - immediately asked for a supervisor. Transferred me to someone in the states (Huntsville, AL). She told me the other calls go to the Philippines and that the computer showed someone calling him the day I lodged the complaint (lie). Also told me my previous Confirmation/ID# (or whatever they call it) had been closed. Great! She opened a new number. This was Thursday the 17th. Told me my repairman would hear something in 5 business days and there was no way to expedite because there were so many people in front of me. Thursday should count as day one since I called in the morning. Nothing.11th call - Called back on Friday the 25th. Asked for a supervisor. This time did not get transferred to the states.I assume still the Philippines. Told me the computer showed they called my repair man the day I called the last supervisor. (At this point, I feel like they do this in their system in case they get sued so they can say... Look, we called him. He didnt answer. All lies) Promised someone would call my repair man in 30 minutes and an e-mail would follow. Nothing. 12th call - Called Monday the 28th (today). Again asked for a supervisor. Again, Philippines. Joe promised he would have my issue resolved and would not leave until it was. After missing 41 minutes of work, hung up on me. I guess the moral is, dont buy an LG anything! My stoves electronics are also starting to fail as well. They want you to give in so they dont have to ship a compressor that will probably fail again anyway, but Im not giving up. Back to the phone...

We had this dishwasher for 11 mos before we noticed cracks along the top of the co tell panel. LG claims that this is surely cosmetic akin to a scratch or dent. I disagree, this is a poorly designed unit. Lowes actually did not want to cover this cosmetic defect, the repairman got it covered due to the cracks allowing moisture into the controls. Fast forward 3 mos, the newly replaced control panel now has cracks the same as the previous panel. The plastic used on these panels is apparently defective or the unit produces more heat than the panel can withstand. This is an engineering issue and not enough testing was done to notice the apparent heat issues. I am not the only person who has had this same problem, but yet LG does not want to admit it has issues.

LG Washer/Dryer unit. Noticed water on floor, thought it was the washer. Repairman identified water coming from dryer. He was not able to fix the problem. Might add, weve passed the one yr. warranty and didnt purchase an extended warranty thinking back over 50 yrs of never having to call a W/D repair person. After some personal research discovered the water drain was not connected to the proper reservoir. Never saw a drop of water in the prescribed reservoir which means it was never properly installed at the factory or whatever reason LG can figure who to blame. Theyve given me some repair phone #s. None service our area. Discovered that they have a very narrow presence for repair people. This is a BUYER BEWARE of LG. No service, poor and rude customer service and a phone number with a broken answering string. In the meantime, LG has a duty and a responsibility to mitigate all damages and the Consumer Affairs Division of the State of California needs to look into a company that sells their products without providing a reasonable method of getting repair service. Their star deserves a huge Zero. I bought both items at Home Depot and they could not give me a repair person for LG. Right now were stuck with having an expensive dryer that doesnt work. Carting a basket of wet laundry to dry outside is a huge inconvenience for an 80 yr. old.

First time I have ever felt compelled to write a review but after reading through so many here and having the worst experience Ive ever had with a Customer Service group I really need to. For the reviewer who said they took a day off to be home for a confirmed (via email) service appointment that was a no-show cancellation because LG never actually had a repair person confirmed - the exact same thing happened to me two weeks ago today... I even called that morning 3 hours into my 4 hour window to verify and was told someone was en route only to find out when I called 90 minutes later I was only then told that the appointment was canceled. I later spoke with the repair facility and they told me they had declined the job because they didnt have availability!Seems Im luckier than most that my LG fridge has gone 8 years without incident. 16 days ago my wife opened it in the morning and it was totally dead. No lights, no compressor, just no power. The outlet tested fine but the lack of lights pointed to it being electrical. I called the toll free number for LG on the inside of fridge and the person seemed helpful enough; Said it probably needed a new motherboard, but because it was out of warranty he would need my credit card details and for $361 we could get this fixed. Thats cheaper than a new fridge so I gave him what I needed and they were certainly very expedient in putting the charge on my credit card! I started to look around on the internet to see if any other reports of this issue and if the fridge could in fact be saved and learned that this whole issue likely stemmed from a small, blown 15 amp fuse... A part that LG soldered into the motherboard rather than put in a easily bracket for easy replacement that could be purchased for about 25 cents. After the no-show appointment, LG Customer Service said they would give the job to another repair facility. They put me on hold, came back a few minutes later and told me they had left them a voicemail and they gave me the phone number and told me that I was free to reach out to them too. I phoned, and left a voicemail around midday that Friday and never received a callback. Over the weekend I phoned and left another voicemail to give them my cell # as well as Id be back at work on Monday and that would be the best number to reach me. By midday on Monday I still had not gotten a call. I did call the number through from the email confirmation the previous week and got a speaking person who gave me the true story on the canceled appointment and told me they could see me on Wednesday afternoon. Confirmed it with them and asked them to contact LG and that I would do the same to let them know that their other company doesnt appear to exist and they need to reassign it to the original technician they schedule. I called LG and was on the phone on hold for most of the time for almost an hour. After an hour and 20 minutes I was disconnected and nobody called me back (all this time Im at work and doing LGs work for them!). I called LG back on my way home and the told me all was good to go.Repairman comes on Wednesday (approximately 1 week since no fridge/contacting LG) after I take a half day to be home and the diagnosis is a blown fuse. Great, but despite it being known from the onset that the motherboard needs to be replaced he doesnt have the part, but they do have 2 in their warehouse and will work with the warranty company on the formalities to try and replace by Friday. No appointment gets made, Repair Service says theyre waiting on LG to approve. I call LG and they tell me another Department cant make the appointment as the Repair Services schedule isnt available online. I call the Repair Service and they tell me nonsense, theyre getting scheduling confirmations from them right now. I call LG back, they tell me theyre now waiting on the Claims Department to approve the part, a process that can take up to 3 business days (this despite charging me almost $400 to replace the part over a week ago).Monday this week comes and I have no phone call, and no appointment. I call LG back and again more being put on hold but now the explanation is were waiting on the part to come in. They couldnt answer me when their Claims Dept approved this so we arrived to this step, nor why we couldnt have had the repair facility (a LG contracted provider!) use one of theirs. They have in stock but Im starting to feel this whole thing is shady. They told me refrigerator repairs are given priority status (a joke!) and that my simple repair was being given a priority to be remedied this week.I called LG back 2 days later (Wednesday, 2 weeks of no fridge and first contact with LG) having not heard back from them and was told that the system shows that I was told that I would be contacted by Friday at the latest if the part had not arrived. I lost my patience at that point and told them I was not told the part coming in would take a full week and that I was instead told that my repair would be a priority to be completed this week and how could we be waiting on a part we knew it needed from the onset, that is readily available to purchase online at a fraction of what Im being charged, and that their repair service was in possession of 2 of them. I told them that rather than trying to bilk a few extra dollars of profit on this 5 minute repair job by using the cheapest available board they can assign in their system they really need to make this a customer resolution case as its been 2 weeks and I need to speak with someone who can look at this absurd situation and make an actual decision to get it fixed. They tell me they will try to forward me to a supervisor to see if they can help. After 10+ minutes on hold the person I was speaking with comes back online and tells me the repair appointment has been made for between 8 AM and 12 PM tomorrow. I thought someone in charge realized and was acting in customer-retention mode until they told me it was not the repairman who had seen me a week ago that would be coming but the one who never returned my 2 voicemails. I asked to confirm for certain hes bringing the board and fully prepared for the appointment to make the repair and am told is the case.I take another half day from work, and the repairman shows up early and when I let him in my house I half-jokingly say to him, Please tell me you have the board and he looks at me with no clue and says he didnt bring anything, the work-order he got only said LG Refrigerator - not cooling. Hes almost as angry as I am that he wasnt told the fridge was totally dead of electric and that another technician had already been here and made the diagnosis. I felt bad for him as he came from a good distance away in the teeth of rush hour having been told to make my call a priority but a total waste of his time and mine. At this point I called LG and just lost it with them and essentially told them their Out of Warranty purchase had to be some kind of scam bordering on criminality as there is no way a real business enterprise could be this incompetent! I was told my account was being escalated to their real Resolution people (i.e. the ones tasked with explaining the inexcusable) and it would take 24 to 48 business hours for one of them to contact me and no doubt the buffer is in hopes that Im much calmer.I have a family of 4 thats been living out of a cooler on my kitchen floor the last 16 days and running out every other night for a new 16 LBS bag of ice. I had to invest in a chest freezer for my garage so that we had some kind of food for my kids on-hand. Ive burned 2 full days off from work and have easily spent more than 3 hours on the phone during business hours on hold with LG. And my fridge is still not fixed, and no appointment in sight for someone to come here and essentially unplug 5 little plugs and then plug the 5 little plugs into the new board. And they charged me almost $400 for this level of service when I could have gotten a new board for $120 and done this myself.I think LG right now on the service front is trying to milk the last nickel of profit on these out of warranty purchases on the assumption it will be the last nickel they see from these customers. Perhaps a self-fulfilling prophecy experiences like this will make a reality. Maybe the US market isnt working out for LG Appliance as it doesnt seem like their heart is in it for the long-haul.

When I decided to purchase this washer, I chose LG expecting to be dealing with one of the top corporations in electronics. What a disappointment! On trying to have it repaired - error message indicating the machine is not draining - I contacted you asking for a local authorized dealer. I was given the name of RISING SERVING SOLUTIONS whom I contacted and got an appointment for a WEEK LATER. So far, after 3 visits of their technician who changed the drain motor twice, the brain of the machine and having paid $390 for the repair, I continue to have the same exact problem. On my last conversation with the technician he alleged that the problem is with the drain hose/pipe.Although Im not knowledgeable on the subject this explanation makes no sense, since the machine drains water properly on the wash and rinse cycles, presenting the problem only on the spin going on to dry cycle. Calling twice and speaking to your supervisors at customer service led nowhere. What to do next?

Fridge stopped cooling in early May. Its only 2.5 years old. After six repair appointments 3 of which were to tell us they could not do it that day, and had to order parts and a four hour repair appointment it broke again a week later. Called LG. Called repair service A & E through Lowes. Still have no fridge and more parts on order including another compressor. LG refuses to acknowledge the first four hour repair in May because it was set up with the same repair company but through LOWES my extended warranty. I called and offered to walk away for the near cost of replacing it. They refused so I am taking them to Small Claims Court. LG is garbage.

Both washer and dryer match. I have the clear top to look down into the top loading washer. It does an excellent wash job, handles large loads with ease, and has more than enough cycle options. Its energy efficient by using only the necessary amount of water. Cant believe I waited this long to buy a new model.

I spent $250 in repairs, the screen showing the temperature does not show correct numbers anymore, and the technician told me that we cannot repair that unless we pay big money for it which doesnt make sense on top of the $250 we already paid.

What a HORRIBLE company. My refrigerator compressor went out after only 3 years. We have an extended warranty. They failed to show for the service appt, did not notify me via the text chain they CONFIRMED from, called from a FRAUDULENT NUMBER and then said THE CUSTOMER was unavailable? I called that day and rescheduled for 2 days later. They still did not show up. I called and they said they closed the claim because they NEVER HEARD FROM ME after the first appt???? Yes. they did (in fact their EXECUTIVE SUPPORT LINE HEARD FROM ME) and they told me my rescheduled day and time was today 8-12. At this point, they said it was going to be ANOTHER WEEK?! Why NO PRIORITY when THEY caused these delays?? Finally agreed to allow for and outside service provider to come out. I called him immediately and he was amazing. He was there within 30 min to assess the situation. Between him coming and 2 hours later, I got a NEW case number with a NEW service provider (which I didnt need or ask for) and they CANCELLED THE TICKET HE WAS WORKING FROM!!!! Now he cant order parts for me, and they expect me to sit home ALL DAY tomorrow to wait for another technician to come out?? I have never experienced a worse customer service situation in my life. I will never buy anything LG again and will definitely be spreading my story anywhere I can. Still no fridge, lost all of our food and no resolution or ounce of compassion from this company. BUYER BEWARE!!!

I purchased the LG french door fridge in the summer of 2016. Since then, the compressor stopped functioning after 2 years. I spoke with LG and they were no help and had to pay to service people to figure it out. This past month weve had an awful smell in our kitchen whose source could not be identified. It was only yesterday we figured out it was emanating from the fridge. We checked online for similar complaints and found someone who located it at the back of the fridge. We had to remove the lower panel and clean out these trays filled with thick yellow residue. The trays do not come out so we had to use chopsticks and an entire pack of clothes to clean it out... This is unacceptable to us and we are at a loss as to what to do with this fridge. STAY CLEAR OF THIS FRIDGE!!!

Anything but LG! Had trouble right off the start with LG. Started getting error codes on the front panel within a year of owning. Tech said motherboard needed to be replaced. Then within a couple of months noticed water collecting inside the fridge. Cold air ducts became blocked because moisture got into them and froze. This duct supplies cold air to the ice maker. Cubes melted sending water all over floor. Tech removed all internal components from freezer, cleared duct and adjusted/moved the thermostat.Last week while on vacation got a call from my son saying fridge quit working sending water all over floor again! Tech came out said compressor is not working and stated it would be less expensive to buy new than replacing the compressor. This is just over 5 years old! We will place a call to LG and see if they want to stand behind their product!

I bought my first LG front load washer 4 years ago. Stopped working, repair person sad it was the bearings, changed them out, still not working, so had to service second time, changed internal set of bearings so ok, now a new problem. The water is pouring out of the bottom of machine. So back to repair person. He told me LG had by now paid more for repairs, than the machine is worth, so now LG finally agree to relapse my machine, but I had to drive 225km to pick it up myself. But died that, and now, only 1/1/2 years later this LG is also stuffed. So for me LG never again. Worst machine I ever had, and I am 76 years old, so have had a few machines. Shall go back to ASKO.

I like the ice maker and smartphone functionality, its pretty nice. I can connect it to my phone, play music on it, pour the water to almost any temperature nearly instantly, open sections without touching it, and more. I like all of it, my refrigerator has so much functionality I couldnt imagine switching to anything else, except maybe the Samsung one. The price was good. The overall fridge is just perfect.

The 10 year warranty LG highlights on their compressor is misleading. We spent $2300 on an LG French door refrigerator in late November 2015, it stopped cooling in February 2018 (26 months). Two techs found the compressor failed. While the part is covered, the $600-$800 in labor is not. After reading other nightmares, we opted to buy a new fridge (NOT an LG) and contact an attorney. Had my washer for just under four months. Extremely disappointed when it failed and leaked gallons of water on the floor. (Luckily, the washer is in my basement.) I contacted LG service at 10:00 a.m. on 1/6/15. The tech, Nate, showed up at 3:00 p.m. the same day. He ordered the part, water pump, which was delivered before 10:30 a.m. on 1/7/15. I called Nate to let him know that the part was in. He was at my house at 5:00 p.m., the same day as the part was delivered. I read all the reviews, including people waiting 6 weeks for a repair or replacement. I didnt hold much hope for having it fixed in a reasonable amount of time. My customer service and repair experience was, fortunately for me, great. Im not sure if I would recommend the washer as my old washer lasted 8 years with approximately 8 loads per week.

We bought an LG LFX31925ST French Door refrigerator in January 2012. It has operated flawlessly. Both my wife and I have frequently commented on what a great purchase this was. We recently observed a periodic error message indicating that a freezer fan was failing. Since I dont expect anything mechanical to run forever, I was happy that the product pointed me to the likely problem with an error message. I was impressed that I was easily able to download owner and repair manuals online, and that part diagrams and the parts themselves were readily available from numerous sources. We ordered the needed part and removing the freezer drawer and replacing the back wall with new sensor and fans was a $100 repair that took 45 minutes at most.We have owned refrigerators in the past that required a new ice maker every year. Our LG ice maker is now more than 5 years old and with daily use still works perfectly. Im sold on LG products. I dont have the receipt anymore, but these are the registration details: Model Number: LFX31925ST. Serial Number: 106KREL0F452. Purchase Date: 01/12/2012.

I have been a follower of Consumers Reports for many years. When my 11 yr. old Electrolux started making noises I figured it was time to look for a new refrigerator. I was very happy with the French Dr. Electrolux so I chose to look for similar replacement. I went to Consumer Reports and found that it rated the LG LFXS28S96S/04 as the best French Door available. On 11-2-2021 I purchased one from Costco. I was very happy with most of the features, until it started making ice. Within a few days the door ice maker would not drop any ice. Upon checking I found that the ice in the small door ice maker were clumped together. Reading the instructions I had to break the clumps so the ice would come down the chute. In thirty years I had never encountered such a problem. I have a fifteen year old Maytag still working and prior to that a Sears which never gave me any problems with the ice maker. I cannot understand how Consumer Reports would have given the LG such high reviews that testing an actual use of the unit would have shown the problems with the door ice maker. I saw later that other consumers of the LG refrigerators have experience the same problems I did.

I purchased an LG refrigerator (LSXS26326S-00) in 2015. This year January 11 it stopped cooling. I had a repair man come out to check it. We were told it was the compressor, which would run about $550 labor and $350 for the new compressor (also $145 diagnostic fee). The compressor was ordered and the repairs were done. It was repaired on a Thursday afternoon and stopped working by Friday evening. The repair man came out again and notified us the the BRAND NEW compressor was faulty. He told us this was common with LG parts and this was part of a class action lawsuit. At the time of this review, I am still without a refrigerator and just over $1000 in the negative for repairs that did not solve my problem!! I will never purchase another LG anything!! I am very upset that with this known problem LG as a company did nothing to notify consumers who purchased these faulty models of this problem that is beyond repair. So I did go online to see if the claims were true about a class action lawsuit and they were. The last day to file a claim was February 5, 2021. I was already past that date by the time I was notified there was such a thing. I wasted time and lots money on this situation and couldve just purchased a new refrigerator. I will tell everyone I know to never by LG appliances and go through this horrible experience!!LG this is for you...Consumers like myself work really hard to make sure they purchase quality products. You are doing them a disservice by not being open and honest about your products if they have problems. A company of your magnitude should make good with consumers who purchased these FAULTY models. Reimburse them or offer them a replacement model (equivalent or greater) with at least a 10 year warranty for all the pain and frustration that your product caused!!

Our family purchased a LG refrigerator four years ago. The refrigerator retailed for two thousand dollars. We started to have problems with the unit after two years with ice build-up on the back. After contacting LG they told us to defrost the fridge. We did that every four months as needed. Now after just four years we woke up to the refrigerator at forty degrees and everything melted in the freezer and now all the food has gone bad. The last refrigerator we owned lasted fourteen years when we gave it to our son still working. Today we spent literally five hours on the phone with service and tech dept. until I wanted to cry in frustration. I am writing this letter because my mom who lives with a terminal illness has been without a fridge for nine days. Neither the fridge nor freezer works. This isnt the first time. She went without a fridge for a week before this a month ago. She recently purchased this fridge in October of 2012. We were told to go buy or ask a neighbor for a cooler to put our food in. We live in a very small town, and it is difficult to eat out all the time. We have been losing out hundreds of dollars with the food going spoiled. In addition, I am working all day, and my mom is without food. The first guy who came to fix the fridge brought a hair dryer. The second guy said he only ordered the part for the freezer and not the fridge even though we told him that neither worked. When my mom called the appliance company to see how soon the part was coming in and asked if she could get the part number, the manager said he did not have to tell her that and spoke very rudely. Then when she asked when the technician was coming out, the manager told her the technician would be in court all day. My mom isnt able to speak well as her muscles are going out. She also noticed a scratch on her fridge that was done by the technicians. The appliance company said they had nothing to do with that as did LG when we called. Therefore, I called and spoke with the supervisor and filed a formal complaint hoping someone will hear our frustrations. The supervisor was helpful and did as much as he could, which was to see when the part would come in. However, the manager of the appliance company said he was on the road and couldnt give the information right there and then. That is understandable, but I dont understand why it is taking so long to get a part in. Can the part not be delivered in 1 or 2 business days? We paid over $1200 for this fridge. I dont understand the customer service. The appliance company has been rude and LG has not been able to do much. I understand there is a process for everything, but this has become too much. What are we to do? My mom is stressed with having a terminal illness and her husband passing away recently. Can you please fix this situation? I have sent this through the post office with urgency hoping that you can address the situation.

A few years ago I purchased new appliances. A refrigerator, stove and over the range microwave. I had an appliance technician that LG had the fewest repair calls so I went with that company when purchasing. Well in the first year the microwave had to be repaired. The glass stop stove after a year and a half has 2 burners not working and now my refrigerator decided to stop working during the worst time possible. I called the warranty company and because of the pandemic they are not doing any house repairs. I was told to think out of the box or go buy a new one. Now I do have an old refrigerator in the garage but with 8 people living in my home that is not enough room, especially when we need to stock up so we dont go out as often. I purchased my LG refrigerator in February 2017. (Note: it is not yet 3 years old.) I absolutely love the refrigerators features: The 3 drawers in the bottom freezer, the ice/water dispenser and maker in the door, the large, wide door shelves, the separate crisper drawer. (BTW, I still love their design.) The problems with this refrigerator began 2 years after purchasing it. Since then, this less-than-3-year-old refrigerator has completely stopped cooling 3 separate times. We have replaced all the parts in the entire cooling system: the compressor, the evaporator, the filter dryer, and a service valve. It has cost us many hundreds of dollars in labor costs, parts, and food loss. It just broke on us for the last time. We are chucking this lemon and buying a new Not-LG refrigerator. If you look online, you will see a class action suit against LG due to their cooling system issues. LG has known that the design of their refrigerator cooling system is faulty, and they have continued to sell them without addressing their design problems. Once the first year of use is behind you, you must pay for these repairs. In my opinion, LG does not deserve your business. More importantly, you DO NOT WANT an LG! No one wants this much malfunction and trouble.

We are an LG household. Washer, dryer, and refrigerators. Our main kitchen refrigerator, a 2016 model, stopped working in July 2019. First failure. LG send out their authorized repair technician who came and changed the compressor. It worked for about 2 weeks and died. That was the second failure. LG sent out another technician who said the previous technician had done an incomplete repair, he said he completed it, and left. The refrigerator worked for a few more days, then died again. That was the third failure. The fridge has now been non-functional for over a week, and the repairman is not scheduled to come for another week. It is not good to send repairmen who are unable to perform a satisfactory repair the first time around, not to speak of the extreme inconvenience of losing three refrigerators worth of food (from three failures in the span of a month). Looking back, I would have much preferred a replacement machine after the first machine failed, or a refund after the second failure. We are now on the third failure and not thinking good thoughts of the LG refrigerator company.

We bought our LG front load model WM2487HRM in 2008 and about 6 months after, it started shaking so bad that our whole house would shake. My husband put some vibration pads under the feet and these seem to help for a long time. However, the mold and regular cleaning has been terrible. In the last year, we have been using only the low spin with only using light loads. This seems to elevate the washer moving a foot, however, it now moves about a foot with all three. The low spin, only putting in half load or less with the pads under the feet as well. There are other problems too. The washer will leak from the front. The washer will sometimes not get the soap into the drum. We have tried all of these options because the set cost $3,200.00, which is ridiculous considering our problems. It will cost $800.00 to $1,200.00 to fix and at this point, we will wait and buy another. But not the same brand.

I purchased an LG Front Loader washing machine model WM3570HWA less than a year ago. It cost over $800.00. I hate this machine. It smells all the time. I leave the door open constantly. I have to leave the window open because of the smell. I have cleaned the tub several times according to the LG instructions. The cycle takes forever. Helps for a couple of days. I also dont find the clothes get that clean and fresh smelling when done. I would take back my old Whirlpool agitator machine in a heartbeat. I am going to get rid of this machine and eat my $800.00+. I will never buy an LG product again. I do not recommend this to anyone. I wish I would have read Consumer Affairs before purchasing this machine.

I had purchased a LG refrigerator about 5 years ago. Needless to say, my 15 year old mini fridge is one-upping this terrible product. I have been trying to have SOMEONE repair it, however, there is no appliance store that is certified to fix it. Clearly this speaks volumes. I have had nothing but terrible service from LG, who expressed no concern for this ongoing inconvenience (understatement). I am just about at the two month mark of having a non-functional refrigerator. The fan was replaced although that still didnt fix the problem. Ill be purchasing a new one because dumping more money into this product seems counterproductive at this point. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE A LG PRODUCT AGAIN!! (Im only 31.)

I have been reading the many complaints of the LG gas oven switch complaints. We have been having the same problems. (1) Clothing catching on switches and accidentally lighting the burners. (2) Switches turning on but not far enough to ignite the gas supply leaving raw gas to disperse into the kitchen. I wrote to LG about this problem and the answer indicated that they had heard about the problem but it was not dangerous enough to issue a recall. Maybe they need a house fire or a gassing death before they are compelled to take real action. By the way the answer I received had many grammatical errors in the reply so I assume it may be written by some low paid clerk with no real knowledge of the danger with this design problem. No more LG products for this household.

I replaced all of my kitchen appliances with LG 18 months ago. The dishwasher control panel died one month out of warranty and LG refused to cover it. Cost me $350 to repair a one-year-old $500 dishwasher. Now my refrigerator compressor has died. This time, LG is covering the repair under warranty, and the experience over the phone with their customer service department hasnt been too bad. But from reading reviews, poor reliability is typical for LG appliances. I expect the new compressor wont last any longer than the original and Ill be going through this again in 18 months. A refrigerator should last at least 15 years. As the rest of my appliances die, they will NOT be replaced with LG.

The washer (model WT1201C) only used sufficient water amount to clean when set to bulky, and even then the no-agitator washer would throw the clothes off balance. This would trigger the washer to refill in an attempt to balance the load, which would then throw the clothes off balance, and this cycle would repeat ALL DAY long. I put clothes on before work at 6am and when I got home at 3 in the afternoon the washer was still continuing to fill and spin, fill and spin. I was so frustrated when LG said it was bc of gov. regulations and that all the washers did this, I finally gave up and bought a Speed Queen which works AMAZINGLY well.

I will never ever buy another LG product of any kind. I purchased my washing machine almost five years ago and have been fighting with it ever since. At ok never point I discovered that the machine had actually been recalled. The machine was known to vibrate across the floor. The techs have been out numerous times but when Home Depot called they said they were only out twice, once a no power issue. They are so misinformed. I had the motherboard replaced and other issues. Now if I wash a quilt the machine stops and flashes. Then when I put it on Spin Only it shoots out water!! So I am left with soggy blankets. I am so furious and disappointed. They should have designated this a lemon four years ago. I think someone needs to instigate a class-action lawsuit against LG. Why are we putting up with this??? I plan to have my lawyer look into this. The techs are coming again on Friday. They will say the same nonsense. I will tell them it is time to sue.

Today I came home from work and the same burner was on HIGH. Thankfully I had cleared the stove top off and have not used it. It could have burned my house down while I was at work. We purchased our refrigerator in Dec 2018, and it decided to quit on us this week; suspect it is the compressor. We called LG 2 days ago and finally got a return call from the repair company stating they can’t get to us until June 1st. LG only has 1 company in the entire area of Phoenix that does the repairs. How insane is that!So now, all of the freezer and fridge food we purchased to hold us off during this stay at home crisis is spoiling and thawing - into the garbage it goes. LG’s solution is to give us a $200 allowance to buy a mini fridge until the repair can be made. What’s up with that? That won’t cover the dollar amount for the food we have in the fridge/freezer and the mini fridge certainly won’t be able to store all that we have in the fridge/freezer. Then we’ll have the hassle of getting rid of a mini fridge after the refrigerator is fixed. There is a class action lawsuit. I guess LG figures what’s the point of fixing fridges quickly or compensating folks for spoiled food when they’ll just have to pay out later...probably less to the consumers, right? **

Bought April 2013. Drying fault reported November 2013. Machine blew up/imploded February 2013. After 3 engineer visits that took 2 months to complete the machine was deemed repaired (engineer 1 guessed the fault wrong, engineer 2 guessed the fault right but instead of logging it he marked the job as complete, engineer 3 brought the right part and recommissioned the machine).Soon after during a fast spin cycle the machine exploded. By that I mean that it spun out of control at 1400 RPM, a bracket broke, the motor is broken, the drum is broken and in all I have a ruined appliance - what would have happened if my terrified wife had not been there to hit the power supply off (not to mention what could have happened to her)? The machine did not cut itself out. The 4th engineer found essential fixing screws were not where they should be ... did engineer 3 fail to correctly put the machine back together, or did LG supply a dangerously defective machine?I would be able to answer these questions if LG showed any interest at all in handling my complaints. After being escalated numerous times to supervisors we have never heard from a supervisor. We have never received an apology. We are forced to accept the same sub-contracted repair company to tinker with this appliance. I have told the supplier that I am not accepting anymore repairs and I am demanding a refund. This is spiraling into a court case. This machine cost 600. It is meant to be the best. Instead, it broke down within the first year and the after sales warranty service has been appalling. Their telephone number costs money to ring, it inevitably means a lengthy wait and discussion, the person at their end has no authority other than to follow a script, their supervisors make no attempt to communicate to us, their repair service is awful (4 engineers!!! and after the 3rd the machine exploded!).I rang their head office and the abrupt receptionist repeatedly told me to speak to customer service about my problem and that they do not give out names ... the senior managers are ring fenced in hiding from customers who are thoroughly fed up with their service. I tried publicly shaming them into giving me what they legal have to. Their Facebook team ignored me and their Twitter team gave me the link to their website. Seriously, this is a company that shows no interest in customer service. If they did, then I would not be in this situation.(And for info, the initial fault is a drying fault. The machine vents the steam during the drying cycle via the water waste pipe. Before it gets there it passes through an internal chamber and takes with it all the lint, hair and other debris collected in a drying cycle. However, that muck instead of being discharged settles on the inside of this chamber. It builds up and then blocks the chamber. This then means the machine can NOT remove the steam generated during a drying cycle so the clothes just become so hot that they will burn skin - proof being when my wife burnt herself on the machine. Now, being a simple customer I of course cant state the obvious that this is a fundamental design flaw. I have to PAY for a qualified engineer to inspect the machine and they have to write a report to state this. 1 - I have to PAY! 2 - What independent engineer is going to do that against a mega corporation?)I will never buy LG again and their level of customer service has pushed me to channel my anger into putting an objective and correct review of them on any review site I can find. Not to mention an exponential Facebook network. They just do not care.

Updated on 08/12/2019: I posted a review of LG refrigerator here a while ago. I described how shortly after the warranty ended, it needed a circuit board replaced and every shelf cracked. LG responded to me claiming this was unusual and they wanted to take care of it. They asked me for more and more information, model, serial number, date of purchase, photos, etc. This went on for several weeks. Finally they responded that the warranty was over and they owed me nothing. But they already knew this since my review already mentioned that. So the only reason they responded must be to give others the impression that they stood behind the products when they actually didnt. It was rubbing salt into a wound. I thought readers should know. And LG, dont bother responding. I wont fall for it again.Original Review: I think all refrigerators today are junk and this one is no exception. Shortly after the warranty expired, it needed over $200 in repairs (circuit board). It has a top freezer and bottom fridge. When you put your hand over the space between them, you feel the cold air escaping. Most of the poorly constructed shelves have cracked but I have been told this is standard on any brand of fridge. The shelves cost almost as much as a new fridge.

I went to a local repair/refurbished shop and asked them if it was possible to repair the dryer. They told me it would cost the same amount to repair the dryer as replacing it. Purchased the LG 5 element double oven slide-in range in late June, 2019 along with an LG dishwasher. In September, while using multiple elements, the range must have overheated because it shut off and flashed an error notice that I had to dig deep on the web/blogs to figure out what it was...Best I could come up with was motherboard failure. I cut power from the circuit and the next day and since, no problem with the error. THAT is not the issue right now. Lets start with the cooktop. I am OCD with cleaning the top. It even gets a wipe down when it hasnt been used. There are white marks on 3/5 of the elements. The previous range, which was 15 plus years old did not have these marks and that cooktop took a beating.I get things that are used cannot look showroom new, but 8 months of not daily use and it looks older than the previous range...which is very frustrating. Now lets move to the ovens. This model has the bright blue enamel interior. The easy clean function does NOTHING at all. Spills and drips happen and the easy clean was one of the reasons I selected the LG model. Ok, so I just gently wiped the minor spills and drips with a wet rag when the oven cooled and would do the self clean as needed. I wipe the glass on the oven doors regularly and honestly have no clue how there are drips in between the glass on both top and bottom. You cant see it unless the door is open or the light is on but they are there and shouldnt be unless there is a problem with the door/glass seals..NOW, today I ran the self clean cycle for the first time since purchasing this unit. I am absolutely livid!! The cycle ran for four hours and then it took some more time to cool so I could wipe the accumulated ash from all of the cleaned spatter and drips that I couldnt wipe out. Both top and bottom ovens look ruined. The grime just cooked into the finish! While wiping with the damp towel, it was shiny and looked clean. As it dried, it looked like bacon cooled bacon grease. I wiped again with another towel and dried with a microfiber cloth...still there and will NOT go back to the shiny finish and seriously looks like coagulated bacon grease. This range was not cheap but is manufactured extremely cheaply. I am sick to my stomach with my decision to buy this unit as opposed to one that was more readily available. The dishwasher I have no problem with so far but this range is absolute JUNK! I looked at many reviews prior to purchase but I wish I had looked at this site before purchasing this unit because this would have tipped me into the cons...dont buy column. Do not purchase an LG range!

I am a neat freak when it comes to my appliances, I use an aluminum tray at the bottom of my oven to catch spills, etc. We had our stove for 6-7 years, I used the self clean option for the first time today. The sides, where the metal shelving are held is rusted. The coating on the bottom of the oven cracked & sections rusted, the metal sheeting is also warped. Like others, I bought LG because of the reputation that Consumer Reports said. Obviously they didnt test the stove long enough or use it the way a real homeowner would use it, and here we paid close to $1800 for our glass top stove and it cant last 10 years. From now on, a stove better have a damned good warranty before I ever buy it.

Bought French Door fridge with ice and water dispenser about 18 months ago. Had minor problems, but were able to solve them. Today, at 5pm when my service provider is gone until Monday morning, the refrigerator started to emit a burning rubber/Teflon-like smell along with a chemical smell that is sort of sweet. Hard to describe, but it has given me a headache. We pulled the fridge out from its niche and dusted the vents, which we do every couple of months anyway. The smell is still there but it seems to have abated because we opened the windows (its 20 degrees outside so now I have a headache AND I am freezing). According to the door panel, the temperature in both freezer and fridge is constant and not dropping or rising, so that is good.Does anyone have similar experiences and do you know what it might be? I was able to get hold of someone from the company I bought it from - I bought an extended warranty from them - and he said he had no idea what it could be and hes never heard of anything like that on an LG. Said that it might be dust or dog hair - NOPE. I am afraid to leave it plugged in when we go to bed. Anyone have any suggestions?

We purchased an LG French door with freezer drawer in bottom. Have had problems with mold developing along the door gaskets as doors do not closed properly. Yesterday, there was an odor that smelled like burning plastic. It smelled like some electrical insulation was burning. The smell diminished, but this morning we discovered that the electrical cord was burning at the outlet. I called the service contract people and was told that the electric cord was not covered, that if they sent someone out it would cost $100.00+. Drove to the local HHGregg store where we purchased it originally and spoke with the manager, which was as helpful as talking to the service provider. Our washing machine did not work from the moment of moving into our new home. It was still under warranty. It is a LG washing machine. Model: WT1801HVA. I called LG in August of 2020 to have it repaired. Because we had no idea what was wrong with it and if it was covered under warranty, we decided to go with the flat rate program through LG. That means for one flat rate, no matter what is wrong with it, you won’t be charged anymore than that fee to fix it. This fee can be reimbursed if the machine cannot be fixed. I was charged $219.45 on Sept 2, 2020. We were given 3 companies to chose from to come out and fix it. The first company we called said they don’t come to Okotoks. The second company stated it was a two person job and refused to even look at it. The third company was Summer Breeze Appliance. They came out one time, could not fix it but ordered the parts. The second time they came out, they could not get the panel in correctly and came back another day. They put the new panel in and the washing machine worked once before not working again. We called Summer Breeze and the technician to advise them their work did not work. To this day, we have not heard back... I believe they are out of business. SO we decided to get paid out a pro rate fee for our washing machine through LG so we didn’t have to go through the hassle. We finally got our cheque for that a couple of months ago ($769.87). Here comes the headache. I requested to have the one time flat rate fee reimbursed sometime in December of 2020. I have called LG every two weeks since the beginning of January to get this money back. I have been told since January that the customer service representatives have contacted their finance department multiple times with no response. I provided LG with the exact date of the transaction and they asked me to check my credit card statements. I told them I had not received anything. The most recent dealings with LG have been the worse. On 2021/03/03, I spoke to an executive team member, Mohammed (**). After a very lengthy conversation he stated he will look into it (the same thing every other representative stated) and will get back to me. Not one customer service representative ever got back to me. So I asked him to call me back by a certain date with any information. He said he could not provide a date to call me back. I pleaded and said give me a date to call back please as I am so busy when I am working. He stated maybe by Monday. I said, ‘maybe? Can you please promise Monday and not maybe?’. He stated ‘hopefully I won’t pass away by then. Hopefully I will still be alive to speak to you on Monday’. Monday 2021/03/08, at noon, I still hadn’t heard from Mohammed and thought maybe he did in fact pass away (cruel humour I know). I called LG and asked to speak to him. The customer service representative said that he was unavailable and that he will call me when he is free. Hours go by with no call. It is now 1 hour before they close. I call and ask to speak to another executive team member. He states he can’t help me because Mohammed has the information. I ask to speak to upper management. He hangs up on me. I call back and speak to Ernesto who tells me I have to email to speak to upper management. Email has been sent. He also says that Mohammed is right next to him. I ask him to ask Mohammed for an update. He said he couldn’t do that. Ernesto states the refund has been ‘approved’. He stated Covid has disrupted everything. I ask for him to put my call on hold to speak to Mohammed about ‘details only he can provide’. He refuses as well and hangs up on me. I am hoping to get some resolution to this matter. I have spent upwards of 14 hours on the phone with LG and feel like I am not getting anywhere. We are still without our washing machine and this has been a huge disruption in our life.

Updated on 05/22/2020: Our refrigerator died on May 8th and now 15 DAYS LATER we still do not have a resolution from LG. I just tried calling the latest number they gave us to call puts you on hold for 10 minutes and then hangs up on you. I have wasted 40 minutes so far trying to talk to a person. I am on medication that suppresses my immune system which makes my in an at risk category for COVID. We were trying to limit our trip out during this time but now my husband has to do daily shopping because we have no frig - putting me at more risk. This is all absolutely UNACCEPTABLE to have a company have no regard for an essential item like a refrigerator and the impact that has on your daily life when you dont have one.Original Review: We purchased a new LG Refrigerator in March of 2018 on night Thursday, May 7th the refrigerator completely died. To add insult to injury, my husband has just gotten groceries that day, so the frig and the freezer were fully stocked, and we lost almost everything. We contacted LG first thing Friday morning and had to leave a message with a call back number. They never called us back, so on Saturday morning, we called again, and this time spoke with a person who only told us that it seems that the linear compressor has failed and she would put in a request for a local service provider to contact us.It is now Monday, May 11th, and we still have not been contacted by a service provider. During this time of COVID-19 we are trying very hard to only go to the store once a week for essentials. This is next to impossible now that we are living out of an ice chest and a tiny dorm/beverage refrigerator that we have in our entertainment room. After doing some research online, I discovered that the linear compressor failing after about 2 years is extremely common and that LG has known about the problem since 2014 but continues to manufacture and sell these faulty products. We also talked to a local appliance repair company, and they will NOT service LG refrigerators. They did not feel right about installing the new linear compressors in peoples refrigerators because it is the exact same part (the linear compressor), and it just ends up failing again. They did not want their companies reputation ruined by LGs faulty parts. So here we are, no refrigerator and no service. I am beyond disappointed LG. We spent close to $3000 on this refrigerator, and my husband is currently out of a job, so we do not have any money to have to buy a new refrigerator right now.

I bought my French door LG refrigerator in Jan 2018. Now - in March 2018 it is no longer cooling. I bought the extended warranty through Lowes. They sent a tech to assess the problem. Compressor needs replacing. After only 14 months of use! Yes the extended warranty (that I paid $269 for) covers the expense of fixing it - but the tech had to order the parts so am still without fridge until those parts come in and he can get back here to fix it. Am very disappointed in LG! Won’t buy this brand again. Am concerned to be thinking I may have to replace the compressor on a yearly basis.

I do like my LG electric stove. I have the convection oven as well as regular baking. Cleaning the oven has been easy with just water. The top also cleans well. I use Windex and a razor blade. I have had about 4 years and is an awesome product!!

Dishwasher D1484CF is a good-looking machine and we have had it for a few years but for the majority of that time it has been broken and awaiting repairs. The problem is always the same, the ON and OFF switch fails and fails and fails. The switch has a sensor that means it doesnt actually need to be touched... just the sense of your finger seems to set the machine, but it fails and fails etc.

Bought an LG top load washer because it was supposed to be the greatest thing ever. Constantly twists clothes, gets off balance and shuts down, and all of my light colored laundry is ruined because the piece of crap doesnt get clothes clean. Cant believe a company would release a machine like this.

First LG purchase was in Nov. 2009 with a convection oven/stove and dishwasher. Bought them at hhgregg and purchased the extended warranty. Moved out of that home in May 2010 and left the appliances there as I had planned on renting out that home. The end of May (for my new place) I purchased an LG front loader washer and dryer (Home Depot with extended 5 yr warranty) because it seemed like LG was a good brand from all the reviews I had read. Got renters in the next month for my old house and they were in there about a year. We left the house empty with someone checking on it every couple days for a year and a half. We moved back in Dec. 2012. We moved out again in March of 2014 to a larger home but took the stove with us. The dishwasher started having issues in July of 2014 for our new tenants. Our extended warranty covered it and the repairs ended up costing more than it was to buy a new one so it was completely replaced by the warranty. All in all, the dishwasher was used for about 3 of those 5 years before needing replacement. In December 2014 my dryer wont power on at all and I have to call Home Depot for the repair. They tell me its the motherboard and it gets replaced. This ends up being about a $200+ repair covered by the warranty. That same month, my LG oven wont heat up. The display says its 350 but I can easily touch the racks, and food is not cooking. My stove is no longer under warranty so the expense is on me. I call a repair guy out who tells me its one of the heating elements. $125 later everything seemed fine until 8 months later when now my washing machine wont drain and my stove has another issue. Neither are under warranty. The washing machine needs a new pump at about $200. My stoves motherboard gets replaced at about $200. Fast forward to April 2016. Stove not heating up again. Had appliance guy out who tried telling me we dont have enough electricity coming into our house after charging me $200 for some electrical part he said was bad and it didnt solve the problem. I called electric company who checked everything and house had plenty of juice. Got part of my money back from the appliance guy since he misdiagnosed the stove and cost me more money. Husband replaced the second heating element (theres two in this particular model) and everything seemed fine until August of this year. Washing machine is giving pump failure message again, dryers display is not working right (cant see how many minutes left -- digital display unreadable), and the stove went out again. Stove was approx 5 years old before we started replacing part after part. Washer and dryer were 5 years old before we started having issues. I have an LG fridge and dishwasher (purchased Dec. 2014), but I think these will be my last appliance purchases from LG. 3 appliances getting replaced is ridiculous in one month. Quality is just not important anymore to these companies. I dont expect them to last forever, but 7-8 years would have been nice. Will not purchase another LG appliance.
