Bought washing machine a little over 5 years. Front loader, very good looking LG model. One day the washing machine wasnt turning and started leaking water. Out of warranty, I decided to take it apart. I found that a piece of the back spider had broken off. The spider made a hole at the bottom of the plastic drum. Then, as you can see from the pictures noticed that the spider itself was crumbling into pieces. I bought the spider from SEARS parts and to my surprise the part was made by LG and it was bad, defective. When I inspected the spider had tiny cracks all over the place and in the crucial sections. My complaint is how can LG manufacture a spider that lasted less than 6 years and then does not try to fix its mistakes by improving the defective parts but just makes more of the same low quality.

First, I like the fridge. Its attractive and when it works, it works great. However, the sealed refrigerant system, isnt. The week after the 1 year warranty ended, it stopped getting cold. Fine. Repair guy comes and refills refrigerant (didnt both checking for leaks or question how a sealed system lost its refrigerant). As expected, a few months later it dies again. He comes back and refills it, AND finds a leak which he repairs and replaces the compressor. Fast forward another year. Fridge dies again, and the saga with LG Customer support begins. I call. Explain the situation. The nice gentleman takes my info, says hes going to request a warranty extension to cover it. Then I wait. And wait. And wait.I call back two weeks later to inquire as to whats going on. Evidently he had misfiled it, so they had to start over. New guy takes the same info, insists Ill have to pay for repairs, but (after I demanded) said hed put in a request, but that I should get a call back 72 hours later. I give it a week and call back. Person I talk to says its still not decided and should get a call back Thursday (that was a Monday). Another week... I call the following Monday. Its now been over a month since I first called. Im told that my request for warranty coverage was denied, and after I asked, he tells me that it was decided last Thursday. At this point, I become unhinged and unload on the poor call center guy (I feel bad about this part) about how disrespectful it is that they cant be bothered to inform me of the status at ANY point along the way, nor follow up like they say theyre going to, and demanded to know what they were going to do about making this right. He gets his supervisor to override the decision and Im getting coverage finally. Great. They send the work order to a repair place in Los Angeles (Im up near Santa Barbara) and tell me that theyll be there the next day between 8-12. Next day, no show. Maybe I misheard him so I wait another day. No show. So I call back to ask whats going on.Evidently, the appointment was declined. So nice of them to let me know before I took time off work to wait for the guy. Fine... When can I get another one? to which they provide me with a phone number for the repair place (Repair place has 1 star on Yelp with 30 reviews btw, so you know Im expecting greatness... #sarcasm).I call repair place for the appointment, and they tell me the code they have from LG to cover the repair is no good, and Ill need to show the original purchase receipt. I understand having to show the receipt, except that LG knows from our history with them that Im the original owner. Ok fine, Ill dig that out, but what about the authorization code? They dont seem to be able to explain who is supposed to get that squared away. On the plus side, the repair guy did show up for the second appointment and determined that the compressor was shot. Now we have to wait AGAIN for LG to decide whether to replace it or the entire unit. For comparisons sake, heres how this SHOULD have gone down: 1. I call them. Tell them the history (which they already have) and explain the current situation. 2. They apologize profusely for the trouble, and the several fridges full of food Ive lost, and promise to get someone out ASAP. 3. Within 2 days, a repair guy shows up, determines its a similar/related problem. 4. LG offers to replace the entire fridge since this one is a lemon.

After 3 attempts from an LG only repair shop, I still do not have a working refrigerator. It has been a month. I had to buy a small back up refrigerator because the LG is not fixable. It is only 4 years old and costs approx. $1,800 dollars. This is very upsetting.

After installing a new LG gas dryer the dryer ran fine but there was no heat. I called LG and they said a service person would call within 48 hours. The first contact from a repair person was 3 weeks later, not 48 hours. When I declined the service (I had already paid a local service person to do the work) the LG service person on the phone was quite insistent about why I did not want service at that point and refused to accept that fact that their huge delay in time was the problem..

I hate my LG washing machine... it smells and there is water that accumulates in the rubber gasket and black mold! I think the problem is the horizontal drum... The water does not drain properly. I never heard of buying a product to clean your wash machine... That pretty much saying there are issues! The dryer also sucks! It shuts off before clothes are dry... So if youre not home to restart.. They smell! The dryer also seems to take a long time to dry. Who would think that products would decline in quality... With all this technology we have today!!! I want my old fashion washer and dryer back!!!!

My fridge was having insufficient temperature problem. I made complaint for Repeat repair with Coimbatore branch incharge Mr. **. Earlier it was attended by his technician only. Also complaint was registered with Customer Care on 28.04.21. Pls find below complaint confirmation: Dear customer ** is given to **. After completion of your work to your satisfaction please share the Happiness Code: 11500 with our Service Engineer to close your Service request. I waited till today morning. Since Lockdown was announced, I arranged with private company and got repaired within 4 hours. Change your logo “LG Never care” instead of “LG Care”. Waste of Time. Waste of food kept in fridge. Since you failed to rectify my repair, pls return my amount ₹649.

This is first time I had problem with washer and dryer. The washer is terrible smell like sewer while using and after use. The mold around the front end door creates black mold. Also the rubber gasket is not properly designed. As soon we bought the machine it leaked terribly wetting the whole wooden floor many times. We called the LG within 1 year warranty period. The repair men came and fixed it but it happened again. I have fix it on my own. BAD, BAD... BAD design and BAD machine. I will not anyone to buy this machine. There are many other brands in the market you want to consider but never ever LG washer. The dryer is takes longer than normal time other dryers will take. Worse machine. They should be stopped in the USA market completely unless they replace all the faulty machines or refund or correct the problems.

LG Gas stove - bought this year - I just walked into the kitchen and smelled gas. This is the fourth time this has happened. I didnt use the stove today, so someone must have accidentally brushed against the stove and slightly turned the knob. There is no safety apparatus to alert you to the knob turning or that gas is leaking (stove doesnt automatically light). I cant believe in this day and age that this appliance passed any safety inspections. Thank goodness I dont have any small children, Id get this stove out of the house immediately. As it is, I frequently go into the kitchen just to verify that none of the stove knobs are turned, I am now paranoid we are going to blow up...

Top of the line LG purchased in Spring 2018. Was expensive. Control panel uses touchpads on hard plastic service which also serves as the door handle. We bought a 2 year extended warranty. The new vertical cracks cover the control touch pads, and will eventually render the dishwasher inoperative. Of course, it is considered normal wear and tear, and not covered by warranty. But, for $240 plus $250 flat rate service charge, I can get it replaced. How long before it cracks again? What a piece of junk. Do not ever buy a dishwasher that has flimsy handles which house the controls....

I bought an LG front loading washer and dryer and have nothing but problems from the beginning with both. The washer will not use and flush the laundry detergent, hence the clothes smell as dirty as when I began. The dryer shows incorrect time, ie: 26 mins left but the time goes off in 4 mins, drying time takes a lot longer than my old one. Clearly disgusted with both.

We purchased an LG Bottom Freezer Fridge in 2011, cost over $2000. To date we have had 3 service calls for faulty boards to a drilling sound loud enough to drown out my TV in the next room. I paid $200 for an extended warranty to repair the first time the drilling sound started. Warranty valid for 90 day only. 1 year to the day, the drilling sound started again. I called LG customer service. The first person Eddie hung up less than 5 minutes into the call. Called back to a person by the name of Luigie. I explained the issue to him, he had 2 ways to resolve the problem, 1: spend another $200 for a service call or 2: unplug my fully stocked refrigerator for a few days, when asked if LG was going to replace the spoilage, he said that LG does not assume that liability however, he did tell me that the issue is known by LG. Never again will I buy an LG product!

We have a WM2301HS bought in Sept 2010 and after a few months, we noticed that the are grease-like stains on some of the clothes, but not all the time. It is a pain to get those stains out. Some comments suggested the contents of the laundry are to blame, but judging from the complaints, we are not alone. Did anyone get this solved? All in all, this machine works great (and looks good). The only service call (yes, life was not good) we had at the beginning was to put a missing clamp on the bottom drain of the gasket (how could they miss that in assembly?).

Nacretia was very helpful. She reached out to me via phone and provided me with the resolution that was being offered from LG. (Which did not completely fulfill what I wanted given the money we invested in this product and the trouble, time involved with getting it resolved.) The offer was fair enough for me to accept to be done with this ordeal. I do appreciate LG getting back in touch with me, offering the resolution, and following through with everything in the offer quickly. In the future, if LG finds a resolution to the linear compressor issues we might consider trying LG products again, but until then I cant recommend the refrigerators based off my experience.

I am a neat freak when it comes to my appliances, I use an aluminum tray at the bottom of my oven to catch spills, etc. We had our stove for 6-7 years, I used the self clean option for the first time today. The sides, where the metal shelving are held is rusted. The coating on the bottom of the oven cracked & sections rusted, the metal sheeting is also warped. Like others, I bought LG because of the reputation that Consumer Reports said. Obviously they didnt test the stove long enough or use it the way a real homeowner would use it, and here we paid close to $1800 for our glass top stove and it cant last 10 years. From now on, a stove better have a damned good warranty before I ever buy it.

We purchased an LG fridge about a year and a half ago. When it stopped working we called the company and it took 10 days to authorize repair. Their authorized repair person came out and said it was the compressor and he came back a week later with a new compressor. After 6 hours of trying to repair he said he put in wrong compressor. At that point LG said it sucks to be you and that they were done with us and not even a sorry that you paid 2000 for their equipment that doesnt work now and its now the responsibility of the repair person to fix it. The compressor has a 10 year warranty but that is false advertisement since it really doesnt. Their customer service rep said the fridge is no longer under warranty after a year and a half. Dont buy an LG fridge. Its not worth the hassle.

I purchased my LG refrigerator in 09/29/2015. After 4 years of service it suddenly stopped working. I had not heard of the problems til this moment. Looking at everything on the internet I wonder if I shouldnt just buy a different refrigerator. We have had a tech here and he is ordering a new compressor for our frig. We lost all or most of the food plus we had to purchase a small freezer to keep food in so we werent running out with our concerns about COVID. I had bought an extended warranty at the time of purchase because the fridge. Was only fully covered for 1 year. Now I understand LG has revised it to cover 5 years so I spent that money for nothing. We are retired and so our money is tight and every cost affects the budget. We havent had a refrigerator for just about a week and now I am thinking about buying a small one for my garage just to keep cold drinks and condiments. With the freezer and small fridge Ill have spent 400.00 dollars and I now I think the money would have been better spent buying a different brand. I havent had to deal with LG in any of this with my extended warranty and with other complaints not sure I want to. If you are reading these post stay away from LG refrigerator until they prove they have fixed these problems. They had to settle a class action lawsuit in 2014 and now are back in court as of 2019 with the same problem and new complaints. This means that LG has had an ongoing problem without resolution for over ten years and are willing to continue to sell these products. If this were a car company they would be forced to make a recall.

We purchased a brand new LG washer and dryer from Home Depot in November 20
We purchased a brand new LG washer and dryer from Home Depot in November 2011. As soon as we started using the washer, we noticed water was leaking from the bottom of the machine, which several months later caused heavy damage to the drywall and created black mold. Initially we contacted LG in November and a technician was sent to our home three times; however, they couldnt identify the problem. First, we were told that the sensors had to be replaced and then the machines had to be replaced. However, LG doesnt replace products, they try to fix it. It wasnt until June 2012 that we noticed there was mold on our baseboard. This has caused major stress on us since we have a newborn. We called an environmental company to come and inspect the wall and test the air in our home, which cost us $450, and LG still refuses to replace the washer and dryer. The problem with the dryer is, if you place comforters or a heavy load, it shuts off without finishing the complete dry cycle. I constantly have to check the washer for leaks and turn on the dryer every time it shuts off. I cannot understand how brand new machines cause so much trouble. We explained this to LG and they said they can only send a technician to correct the problem. So far, the technician has come twice this month and it still hasnt been fixed. I cannot understand how this company cannot replace defective machines. This is horrible customer service. We are disappointed and will never recommend nor purchase any LG products again.

Buyer beware of this refrigerator! I have an LG fridge (through sears –kenmore elite). I have spoken to Sears and LG. Both are saying that my less than two year old fridge not working is the others problem. I have now paid to have both a Sears technician and an LG technician look at it. The first tech said the issue was the refrigerant cooling system and the compressor was gone. This was the local LG authorized appliance repair person. The second was the Sears authorized repair tech who said it was the electrical board, but it could also be the compressor but they werent sure. Both say NOT their problem!! It is going to cost 1150.00 to fix my fridge after Xmas! I have now had no fridge for over two weeks. Life is definitely Not Good!!!I spoke to Sears, they also told me, not their problem. So what what do I do now? I know, pay $1150.00 for my fridge. If my fridge, was older, I would get it! But it is less than two years old!! You know that is not right!! This fridge is a lemon, avoid at all costs. Please avoid this model and beware that neither LG or Sears cares even a little bit about assisting you if your appliance is not under warranty!!!

The dryer is efficient however, the front loader filter that is located inside the door, requires constant monitoring for tears and dismemberment of the felted seal. First contact on Feb 23rd for compressor replacement, 5 years into a ten-year compressor warranty. Lengthy wait on hold,13 verifiable calls later, as of March 5th, there has been no authorization for a compressor to be shipped to the service vendor. Service vendor made 7 of 10 calls in one day. LG will not provide a direct number to reach the same person twice. They will provide you with a badge number and first name. When you call back, there is no way to get back to the same person. Today they tell me it takes five days to process a parts authorization. They also tell me it will be another 7 to 10 days before they ship the parts once they are ordered.Once that happens, the service provider has to order the parts, and reschedule service at the home location. Both my self and the service provider have been sent to another company called Encompass who then has you start all over. I was told on March 1st that the authorization was in my email, all I had to do was open it. On March 2nd, I was assured it would be processed in 24 to 48 hours. Today, that has grown to 5-7 business days to approve parts. This has left me no choice other than to be a month or more without a refrigerator. The original purchase price was just over $2700.00 on sale.

PSA: DO NOT buy an LG refrigerator. Both they, and the service company they contract with, A&E are absolutely horrible. Back story: I purchased an LG fridge 2.5 years ago to replace an aging one which was keeping food in the 56º range. The new fridge worked fine with the exception of the black satin stainless finish on it which had started peeling off. About a month ago I called to report that. They sent out a service tech who said it was a manufacturers defect and it was covered. They would replace the doors in approximately two weeks.About a week after that, the fridge quit working. I checked all the stuff a non technical person like myself knows to check: had the door been left open; was the air intake clogged. Nope and nope. I busted out the manual. They said to call LG if it was failing to cool so I got on the horn with their service. Shortly into the phone call, the customer service person says, touch the inside of the fridge, does it have any condensation on it? It did not. He told me it was the compressor and promptly scheduled a service call which was about a week out. So I threw out stuff which would perish soon, got freezer stuff to my friends and cleaned the fridge so that it would not get stanky sitting closed up without power. The tech shows up as scheduled, confirms it is the compressor and also the motherboard and orders parts. The parts arrive a few days later, they are the wrong parts. We are now a week and a half in. He blames it on LG (who knows if it was LG or A&E at this point) and says he is going to order the parts and they will be overnighted. Had this been the case they would have arrived on a Thursday, come the next Tuesday, there are still no parts, so we call again. Now the story is that they will be ordering the parts and they will be here tomorrow. LG ships the parts to the consumers home, and A&E will not schedule until the parts arrive so first you get to wait for the parts, then you get to wait for them to have availability in their schedule. The parts arrive, three days later they schedule the tech yet again. They call the day that the repair is to be scheduled and say that the tech called in that day and they will need to reschedule. At this point another friend gets on the horn and basically tells them, oh hell no! and they miraculously find someone from Cape Girardeau and send him up. The guy puts the parts in, says to leave the fridge for 24 hours before putting anything into it. This was yesterday. Wake up this morning and the fridge is yet again a balmy 65º.Call LG AGAIN .... and A&E is closed and wont be able to schedule anything until Monday. Which will then of course be another service call scheduled days out, another tech coming out saying, yes the fridge is not working, ordering additional parts, waiting for parts, waiting to schedule said parts to be told that the fridge cannot be repaired. The fridge is under manufacturers warranty. The failed compressor has a 10 year warranty. I have the extended 5 year store warranty. There are so many 1 ⭐️ reviews on the LG fridge and A&E with people who are having the exact same issues as I am with both companies on Consumer Affairs, this entire debacle is being repeated all over the place. We are now three weeks into this, the doors never did arrive, the fridge still doesnt work and we are waiting on service yet again. If I can save any of you the headache, I wanted to put this out there.

I replaced a whirlpool microwave with the LG. Had to have repairs after the warranty ran out. The whirlpool was 14 years old and never had a problem. Only thing good about LG service is that the quoted price was what I paid even though they replaced 3 major components. Oh, if you havent had stainless steel appliances, they show every little fingerprint and spatter. If I had known this I would have stayed with painted surfaces.

Our LG Tromm Washer Machine has a rectangular area with a lid and this is where you pour your detergent. It collects black mold constantly and only part of it comes out to clean. That part being a small piece which holds the softener and bleach. I even keep it open at all times so air can hit it and it still gets quite moldy. Also, it needs to be drained every now and then as well at bottom of machine. Dryer DOES NOT dry loads at all. I have to dry numerous times, both large and small load, even using the appropriate dry choices. Probably spent more on electricity than what I should have been with these supposedly more efficient machines. I have been unhappy for almost 7 years with these machines.

LG TOP LOADER WT4970CW. This set was $1200 on sale and should have just bought a cheap one. It took me literally from 7am to 5 to wash a load because of off balance issues. Then it still wasnt done, clothes smelled like mildew so I emptied the washer and boxed it back up and returned it. I dont have time to babysit. DO NOT BUY THIS! Bought from Menards in Columbus, Indiana. I called LG at the request of Menards, just to find out that these issues are not uncommon.

My three-year-old LG front loader washer (WM2301HR) started making grinding noises as it slowly stopped tumbling and spinning. After pulling the back panel off, I discovered the splines in the rotor were worn smooth. This is a warranty part - 10 years. LG will only provide the part if I call an authorized LG tech to my house. $100 to show up, plus $60 per hour to replace a $70 part. Are you kidding LG? Never again. Never again.

Control knobs will turn on with a slight bump. Has burned items on my stove because was caught by someone in my household. Smoke alarms going off and rooms filled with smoke. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE!!! LG refuses to acknowledge or correct the problem, despite numerous consumers having the same exact complaint. They have denied my request for a fix. I check recalls every week just expecting to find this range on the list, but not yet. I hope it doesn’t take a serious incident for this to be addressed. Im hoping a lawyer will file a class action suit against LG. Costco says they must go thru the manufacture for this problem. Who will pay for my house if it burns down because of this stove?

Wife wanted new appliances so we went to Hopeless Depot and bought LG. What a mistake. Bought a french door refrigerator. Within 2 months the ice maker went out. LG came out and installed a new ice maker and all seemed fine until the other day it went out again. Now everything is out of warranty and the ice maker went out again. I called LG and they gave me the number to 3 repair companies and they all told me the same thing. 90 days on the ice maker, no warranty. Fridge is a year and 2 months old. I have the old KitchenAid refrigerator in the garage that works like a champ. 25 years old. So to add insult to injury the turntable motor on the microwave is going out. It is the same age. 14 months old. I wont even bother calling them - Ill just let everything fail. Do not buy LG - they suck. Their stuff does not last. Get KitchenAid.

I needed a dishwasher. LG had a whole set of stuff on sale and I thought it looked good. So I bought it all including the refrigerator and the washer. I also use LG phones, so I like their products. Within an hour after the service people left and delivered, I noticed a dent in the refrigerator door. We then had multiple appointments. The guy came out twice and he didn’t have what he needed. Then we had more appointments that were cancelled. Finally, I had one that they cancelled and when I called the vendor that I had been dealing with, they told me that I had to refile my claim. I then got a hold of LG directly and I found out that the vendor had ordered in a wrong door and all this time, they never returned it, so LG never sent them a replacement. So the vendor kept scheduling an install and they expected me to have the door. The vendor was not knowledgeable at all.It took about nine months to get the refrigerator done. But I love it. My favorite feature is that little extra door on it, but the shelving is not adjustable enough. I can’t get them on the height I would like them. And on the dishwasher, the settings are not made for American dishes. It’s small in the rack and certain spaces, and not as flexible as my older one was and it seems to not hold as many dishes, either.

Just before my top loading “smart drum” washer was off warranty it kept saying UE (uneven) and refused to spin...even after setting it on spin only. It would constantly set more time and refill with water and not fully spin. We are on a well and water use was a concern! I called LG and they contacted the authorized serviceman who came out a couple of days later. He replaced the motherboard and said all was good. That lasted less than 2 weeks before it was doing the same thing again. Called the repairman myself this time and he spoke to LG. Turns out my washer was a lemon and I actually got a new one on warranty. That was great UNTIL the new one started doing it too at about the same age as the original one started it. The new washer didn’t come with any warranty either so I’m stuck with it.LG top loading washers are a total piece of crap and it frustrates me to no end, wastes our well water and power, and I spend all day sometimes just trying to get 1 load of wash done! Too many times have I had to put dripping clothes into the dryer because I can’t get the washer to spin them out! If I had the money I would buy a new washer...but not an LG!

The repairman showed up Tuesday and now has to order parts. These parts are a clutch and PC board. Lowes and LG has no idea when the repair company will receive the parts. We have now been without a washing machine for over 2 weeks. I will not buy another LG product nor do business at Lowes unless it is an emergency. Thank God we do have a 5 year warranty on the washer and dryer.

And broke my tiles in my kitchen and said if 2 service people come out and cannot figure it out theyll replace the dishwasher. We bought a home that had a completely remodeled kitchen with a brand new LG LRFD25850ST refrigerator (French door style, with freezer below). It is a beautiful LOOKING appliance. The ice maker works. Thats the only nice thing I can say about it. When you open the doors, in just a few seconds it starts beeping the open door alarm. This is not a defect. It is designed that way. The problem is that the time before the alarm goes off is not settable, and it comes on so soon that you cannot possibly put groceries away before if relentlessly goes off. In fact, its darn hard to even get things OUT of the fridge without it going off.Everything plastic on the inside of this fridge is made of a cheap, brittle grade of plastic. The produce bin doors and wide lower drawer have all cracked and broken multiple times in multiple places. The front support plastic edge on the lower shelf cracked in several places and started to sag. Some PVC plastic pipe cement and my own supplies of plastic to reinforce it have kept it in shape, but most people will not be able to make repairs like this and they will end up with the cover doors drawers all broken and coming apart. One day it just started accumulating a big thick sheet of ice in the bottom of the freezer. After months of just chipping it out of there in big chunks before it started to melt at the front edge and run water all over the floor (which it did multiple times), we went away for a week, so we took out all the food and shut the thing off. After 5 days of being off and completely dethawing, it stopped creating that ice sheet. I assume the defrost draining tube was blocked somewhere.Temperature distribution throughout the fridge is very unpredictable. Sometimes the ice cream is soft, sometimes hard as a rock, sometimes the milk is too warm while other things in the fridge annoyingly freeze hard as a rock, or vice versa. The light bulb compartment cracks and deforms. The cover is very hard to get off, and the bulbs are very hard to unscrew. I dont know how a simple thing like a light socket can be made poorly, but these are. And cover has melted and deformed from the bulb heat (and we are not using incorrect lamps. They are 15w small appliance bulbs).

I have an LG front load. It does not have an option to add more water and there is never any extra water in it other than what is on the clothes. As a result I have to wet the clothes down before I start the cycle and do a “rinse and spin” at the end of a full wash as the “extra rinse” does not utilize enough water to justify the electricity being used but the rinse and spin seems to have residual water in the drum. Even with minimal soap and fabric softener or using vinegar in the mid cycle the clothes still come out with a chemical smell to them. Yes I clean the machine regularly as it also has a problem with getting smelly quickly. Had to replace the sensor that creates the spin at year 6 but DIY as this is such a common problem and instructions found easily on the internet.

Ive had this fridge for over 3 years and it finally stopped cooling and making ice in April. LG has sent out 3 different technicians to repair it but none of them seems to know what is wrong with it. One tech said the issue was with the compressor, they ordered the part, when the tech came to install the new compressor he said there is nothing wrong with the compressor. It is the motherboard that went out. He returned to install the new motherboard and it is still not working. There is an issue with this particular fridge based on all the reviews Ive seen online. They need to do a recall on this fridge since it is a manufacturing issue and replace all those fridges that people are issues with. I am still waiting for my issue to be resolved.

LG has always had a good reputation and everyone I know who has an LG product loves it (including me). Now, after 2 years, the compressor died. Even after a thorough cleaning and professional servicing, the freezer wont even freeze and, according to the repairman, the pressure will never build up high enough to do so. What does this mean to me? Almost $1000 to replace the compressor. One thing to note: the replacement part is an updated part number meaning the original one had issues. With COVID-19 cutting customer service hours, I can understand LG not answering their phone. But that doesnt help with me having to go out on my own to get a repairman and shell out so much money. So LG, what do you say about this?

WT5001CW - We are still having significant problems with our LG washer. The latest issue involves the troubled spin cycle particularly when washing items in the Towel Setting. While trying to wash just 3 bath towels along with several smaller items, our washer will become unbalanced during the spin cycle subsequently causing our machine to stop operating! After having to stop, adjust, and rearrange items, the machine will resume the spin cycle only to have the washer once again cease normal operation requiring me to repeat the process of pulling out these wet items. As I indicated previously, I believe this chronic balance problem is due to a defective LG software issue rendering our washer unsuitable for the ordinary purpose for which it was sold to us. This LG washer is defective. We cannot operate the washer for which it was intended.

Purchased an expensive french door refrigerator in 2015. In 2016 the motherboard went out and we were out of a refrigerator for 2 weeks. Was advised to purchase the extended warranty to lower the repair cost (to $300). Now, in 2017, the compressor is out and we are again without a fridge for a week and lost all our food. The kicker? The compressor is under a 10 year warranty but only for the $160 part. LG is still charging me $400 for labor. Its their flat fee for warranty work, regardless of how long it takes. They overcharge for the labor to cover the cost of all the parts they have to replace. This fridge has cost me ~$1,000 is service and lost food and its only 3 years old. Spoke with supervisor Donald and he was rude, interrupted me constantly, and flatly refused to provide any customer to lower the labor charge since Ive had so many problems with this fridge. He told me to call other techs and see what they would charge--I have. No one else will work on LG fridge compressors because they fail too often. Im filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and sending a letter to the corporate office. I encourage everyone here who is a victim of LG to do the same. Purchased my LG French door refrigerator in 2015. After the first year of owning it, the water lines froze up completely and started freezing the inside of my refrigerator. Service tech sent out to fix. Cost was more than what it should have been to fix a refrigerator that was just a year old. Then year 2 another service call and money spent out of my pocket to fix just to turn around and call them 7 months later. After more money was thrown into the refrigerator it was fixed only for a short time. In 2018, had another service tech come out and he could not tell me what the issue was. Call again, another service tech came out and we were told it was fixed. 2 weeks later I called again because the fridge had stopped Cooling yet again and again we lost most of the food inside. This time we were sent parts and the Tech that came out said it would cost over $1,000 for labor and we didnt have the parts that we truly needed. The service technician somehow broke the back panel of the refrigerator also. This was in July of 2018. The tech left the refrigerator taking apart and in pieces. Over a year later 2 October 2019, the appliance still sits in my house with the parts out of it and I have a non-working refrigerator. I purchased a small used refrigerator to get by until I was financially able to purchase another refrigerator. In 2015, we suffered a house fire which was a total loss so when I redone my kitchen I read reviews and thought I was making an informed purchase. Was I ever wrong!! My LG refrigerator isnt worth a dime and my LG dishwasher has had several issues in which Ive not even bothered to try to get fixed. I have just dealt with these issues myself also I have a LG washer and dryer. Luckily I havent had issues with it yet but I wouldnt be surprised if and when it does happen. With a name brand such as LG you would think they would do more for the customer. I finally spoke with LG again September of 2019, as I had heard they were covering certain aspects of French door refrigerators being fixed in the hopes of getting back my $2,500 refrigerator but still nothing has been done. I would steer clear of LG appliances in general. But more importantly I would make sure I stayed away from any LG refrigerators as they do not stand behind their product. This was the first time I had purchased so many appliances at once and lesson learned the hard way!

Bought it in 2015 with 5 year extended warranty from Home Depot, nice features and look, first time no cooling in 2018, linear compressor broke, had to buy a small freezer to move the food as the service came after a week, then another week for the compressor to arrive. Then in 2019 the top ice maker not working getting frozen, tech changed sprayer. Now, Oct 2020 the freeze and fridge not cooling, it seems to be the compressor again, need to wait one week for tech to come, overall a joke. Other techs recommend not to buy LG or Samsung as the parts not ready available and break frequently. Updated on 01/08/2019: After two failures and unsuccessful repairs, Asurion sent another repair company over. The repairman walked into the house and said I know what the problem is already as he heard the compressor groaning in the kitchen. After conferring with his boss over the phone, I was informed that they no longer will do repairs on LG products because LG does not pay their invoice. So not only does Home Depot continue to sell this junk, but the repair shops that would handle the extended warranty repairs will not work on LG. A couple of weeks later, Asurion (out of the blue) called and said that a reimbursement check was being sent. Could that be due to the class action lawsuit recently filed nationwide against LG?? So we got the check, disposed of the LG, and bought a KitchenAid that sits quietly in the kitchen, keeping things cool and keeping us composed. OH, and never a word from LG through any of this business.Original Review: Two Compressors in Two Months...LG is junk: We purchased this LG from Home Depot in December of 2016. It had great features, was very attractive, and large capacity. In November, 2017 we returned home to find the kitchen flooded and the fridge was warm. We called the Home Depot warranty company and a repairman came out two days later. They didnt have local repairmen so he came from 60 miles away btw. He said it was the compressor and he said he replaces LG compressors on a regular basis. Ultimately it took him 3 weeks to obtain one due to LG being out of stock on compressors. He installed it and the warranty company gave us a food reimbursement check. Two days later, the same thing happened! Spoiled food. Flood. Repairman showed up again and repeated the slow ordering process. Home Depot sent over a small dorm fridge just in time for Thanksgiving. Now the compressor is again making noises. LG is totally unresponsive to this; they would rather the repairmen make the repairs for them, that they are too cheap to do upon manufacture.

We bought a beautiful looking top loading LG washer and dryer from Sears in Eureka, California in September 2011 for our second home in Humboldt County. We didnt purchase an extended warranty - although looking back, we should have done so. Because the appliances are installed in a second home (to this date, April 2013), they have been used about 12 times total.Suddenly, during a visit to this second home in mid-February, the dryer quit drying; there was no heat at all. We did the trouble-shooting with LG Customer Service to no avail. Then we contacted Sears to arrange for a repair. We returned to the home at the end of March, and the repairman came to the house. His analysis showed that the heating element needs to be replaced, which he had to order. As the repairman was leaving, he told us that he is about the only one in the area who will tackle fixing LG appliances because they are so poorly made. He mentioned that our washer is probably on a recall list. Sure enough, the washer - Serial Number (WT5001CW) is on the LG recall list. So now, I am attempting to make sure that the only repairman in the whole area who will touch LG appliances is prepared and scheduled to come to our second home when we can schedule ourselves to be there and can fix both appliances! It is hard to believe that these appliances are so poorly made, that they both are broken after having been used a handful of times! They look great but apparently are pieces of crap; and they cost a lot of money. What is the matter with these corporations and their quality control? Do these people really think I will ever buy another LG appliance again? And is it really worth the (certainly temporary) health of their bottom line to continue to sell these shoddy products? And what else do disgruntled customers do? They tell everyone they know about their negative experience with these products. Shame on LG!

This is next to impossible now that we are living out of an ice chest and a tiny dorm/beverage refrigerator that we have in our entertainment room. After doing some research online, I discovered that the linear compressor failing after about 2 years is extremely common and that LG has known about the problem since 2014 but continues to manufacture and sell these faulty products. We also talked to a local appliance repair company, and they will NOT service LG refrigerators. They did not feel right about installing the new linear compressors in peoples refrigerators because it is the exact same part (the linear compressor), and it just ends up failing again. They did not want their companies reputation ruined by LGs faulty parts. So here we are, no refrigerator and no service. I am beyond disappointed LG. We spent close to $3000 on this refrigerator, and my husband is currently out of a job, so we do not have any money to have to buy a new refrigerator right now.

Stainless refrigerator has permanent horizontal streaks after 6 weeks of use. No children, no visitors just 2 of us. Cannot after multiple calls receive any help. No one will even come assess issue. Their advice... purchase new doors and pay for service call as well. We will never purchase another appliance from a big box store, in this case it was Best Buy. No we did not purchase the extra coverage and we do not feel we should have.

When I bought my washer, I was told I had to leave the door open to keep it from molding and smelling. I thought that was very odd, but it is correct. Even leaving the door open between loads, I still have a musty moldy odor that lingers on our clothing. I use the correct detergent and clean the washer like directed by the instruction manual. I hate this machine.

Our front load LG washer began giving us problems 8 months from purchase. I called LG twice and they recommended unplugging the unit to reset the computer. The machine would work after waiting 6-8 hrs. Eventually, that did not work and repair was needed. The repair men discover two tears in the rubber gasket that were caused by metal clips below that had 1) sharp edges and 2) placed too near the gasket. Over the year of use, the tears occurred and dripped onto the thermistor. It was a manufacturing/quality issue, even supported by the repair man and discussed with their technician at LG who agreed and took notes. LG refused to pay for the repair because it was outside the warranty period. They were disrespectful on the phone and emailing exchange kept sticking to company line of outside the warranty period. Good companies stick by their workmanship. I believe they can make good machines. Mine was a lemon and they couldnt care less.

This stainless steel dishwasher is only 2 1/2 years old and must be replaced. I have struggled with dirty glasses and dishes the entire time. The washer sweats after cycle finishes and leaves a gritty film and smell. The inside has developed a nasty clouded surface that must be wiped out with each use. The rinse aid helps only a little and I have also used vinegar and CLR to clean it out. Nothing works. A repairman ($75) said the arms were hopeless clogged and recommended buying a new washer. This one cost over $750!!!

We have had our LG Refrigerator for 2 years and this is the second repair on ice maker. We have never had a problem with an ice maker. We should have read the reviews before we bought. We are thankful for purchasing an extended warranty but when that runs out we will probably have to purchase a new refrigerator after reading the reviews. LG needs to close up shop because at this rate I cant see sales increasing. Does Home Depot realize the problems with these refrigerators?

LG refrigerator (French door/expensive) had to have compressor replaced at 2 yrs, $800+ in labor, parts took 3 weeks to arrive from Korea so without a ref for all that time. Now a couple years later it went out again, compressor, evaporator and other parts replaced. It doesnt cool and is deemed unrepairable. Have spent another $905 in labor. Asking LG to at least reimburse for labor but not getting good support. Product is not good quality apparently and parts take an unreasonable amount of time to arrive. Warranty support inadequate under the circumstances.

While working for my employer on the 9th floor, I smelled an electrical burning/fire coming from our snack room. I wasnt sure which machine it was coming from (snacks, soda, countertop water dispenser, coffee maker, or refrigerator). I later learned that the clock on the LG microwave was out and it was humming. When I opened the door of the microwave, the rotating glass was broken in pieces and the microwave was extremely hot like an oven. I immediately unplugged it, reported it to the leasing office and they notified the fire department. We are not replacing this microwave with another LG.

Over the years we have had a number of refrigerator brands and have never had any major problems. Our LG refrigerator has lasted less than 2 years and after 4 weeks of dealing with this company we are still without a refrigerator. The unit stopped cooling and we called customer service. Seeing that it was a refrigerator we thought a day or 2 and it would be repaired. It took a week for their service rep from A & E Appliance Repair to arrive. It looks like this company has some connection to Sears. Then another week went by before a part arrived. Looking at the control board that arrive it had broken clips and it didnt look new. A few days later a service rep arrived and installed this part, no change no cooling. He indicated he would have to order another board. At the time didnt think this might just be a scam of sending out a used board. After 2 more weeks they are saying it is on back order and dont know when it will be available. The conversation is turning to buying a service contract. I have now spoke with 10-15 reps in LG customer service and a number have indicated they will expedite the process and get back to us. Never happens. You can never get back to the last person you talked to. I have seen some references to a class action law suit. This looks like the only hope anyone who has purchased an LG product has to recover the loss.

On June 6, 2010 I bought an LG wm2301hr washer from Best Buy. Today we found that this washer had a slow leak in a faulty valve at the top of this unit that must have been leaking for a while. It was just a slow steady drip for a long time until today 3-2-2012. The way we found was that there’s a moldy smell in the closet behind the wash room with lots of black mold growing under the baseboards. Now, we have ruined carpet, ruined clothes, ruined sheetrock and baseboards and a washer that I have to fix myself. I expected a lot more quality for an $1100.00 washer. Best Buy said sorry. LG said sorry out of warranty. Wow, with the water dripping on the motor, I don’t even know if the machine is safe to put back in service. Any help would be great!

My LG refrigerator quit around Feb. 14. The repairman came on Feb. 17 and said he would order a new board and compressor. It is now March 11 and I am still waiting. I called the Brick customer service and they do seem to want to help but nothing comes of it. I have a serious heart condition and am finding it even harder since I do not feel well enough to go out to get food most of the time. The customer service did not call back and kept me waiting all day yesterday so I did not get to go out and get some food. It is getting warmer outside so my new outdoor storage is no longer working either and the remaining food is going bad. My cats can attest to that and refuse to eat the remaining steak. I am having to eat food that causes me to get terrible attacks of angina. This whole episode is like something out of a nightmare.I called the Brick customer support again this morning and he said he would call the Brick store in Barrie where I purchased the refrigerator and see about having a bar fridge sent over to use until the repair gets done. I should not have had to wait this long as they should have a stock of parts locally and not to be sent from China. Also, since I have paid a large sum of money for the extended guarantee, there should have been immediate action to see that I was not so inconvenienced as this. The very nice man in the Brick customer service just called and said he talked to the Brick store. The Brick store just called and it seems all is starting to go more smoothly and they are prepared to lend me a bar fridge. Of course, that still means long walks just to get to the fridge as I have little room for it. I am keeping my fingers crossed that the repair is now going to be done soon. If not, I will be taking much stronger action to see results and maybe help the rest of people that own LG products to get better treatment in the future. I have many LG products so it means a lot to me.

This range has performed usually well. However, the burners on the stove dont really heat up to fit the pot that one would cook with. Meaning, that when you turn the burner on to fit a small pot, it still heats way above the pots diameter. The range stove top glass cracked early on. The other problem is that the stove had to be serviced to adjust the oven temperature and to have a new seal put on the oven door. It looks great and does the job, but I cant understand how the glass on the stove top cracked.

DO NOT PURCHASE ANY LG REFRIGERATOR!!! We bought an LG French door refrigerator less than a year ago and we no longer have a refrigerator already. A very expensive appliance that is required normally important in life has been broken for over a month now. LG sent out a subcontracted company name Tasko who set an appt initially A day or so after report of failure of the compressor. Technician showed up unable to speak English and said I think....after only a few minutes someone else would have to come back...he couldnt fix the issue. I said, why did you come if you can not fix it and when will someone be back? My refrigerator isnt working and all my food is spoiling. EXPENSIVE LOSS!!! Plus its almost THANKSGIVING! He replied, someone will call by Friday...a whole week away...NO ONE CALLED FOR 2 more weeks! I received a call out of the blue on November 5th (my birthday) stating...I am on my way! I said, no you are not...NO ONE CALLED TO SET AN APPT AND ITS MY BIRTHDAY, we are not available! I said, I will call you back to set appt. Before an appointment was made...No phone call or appt was made with me but the Technician who does NOT speak English...KNOCKS ON MY DOOR ON VETERANS DAY! I am not dressed and not prepared for this person to be in my home. My husband shockingly lets this tech in and he had me trapped in my bedroom for probably 5-6 hours in which I was having a medical emergency with my cat and I needed to get my cat to Vet. This Tech finally leaves and did not fix the refrigerator but leaves it unplugged saying do not plug in for 3 hours. My food is still spoiling and after 3 hours the refrigerator is now making a very loud noise and is not working at all to cool anywhere.I received a call from LG the next afternoon and I informed the rep of the horrendous customer service and how very unhappy and angry I was at how this man was in my home without a appt and unannounced at all. The rep said, I understand and will be calling Tasko to discuss this with the Tech and he knew that communication with that company was not easy to accomplish from prior conversations. He is very sorry for our experience. Our refrigerator does not work at all at this time. I call LG back a day or so after not hearing a word back and I AM STILL WITH A FRIDGE AND THANKSGIVING IS FAST APPROACHING!!! I called to request a new refrigerator as this is a class action suit issue across the country and My fridge is under warranty. I got the run around saying I must produce a receipt now even though they gave us all in their computer as customers of this fridge. I said I can not find my receipt and the company we purchased it at HH Gregg has closed all stores so I can not get a receipt from them because they did not upload to the warranty dept that bought their contracts. I am constantly calling for a new refrigerator STILL on Nov 21 and THANKSGIVING is tomorrow...I HAVE NO REFRIGERATOR NOW FOR OVER A MONTH and no one seems to give a flying rip and wants to send the same company back to my home that I have had such a horrific experience with for the past month. I requested to speak to the President of LG and was told they dont have that number!!! I said, Are you kidding me?!! The rep said, I will request a EXECUTIVE will call you within the next two days. Meanwhile, I AM STILL WITHOUT A REFRIGERATOR that is less than a year old and tomorrow is THANKSGIVING!!! I STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED A CALL FROM AN EXECUTIVE and suspect I will not be, I think its time to contact one of the class action suit attys! Thoroughly disgusted, frustrated and infuriated! Do not buy any refrigerator from LG...or anything else if this is how you will be treated especially after spending nearly $4000 dollars for such an important appliance in life!

We bought ALL LG appliances 3 yrs. ago, including their French door-in-door refrigerator. We’ve been without that fridge for THREE WEEKS now!! LG’s customer svc. is shameful. They think 3 wks isn’t unreasonable to live without a fridge. It took 2 wks & dozens of phone calls, hanging on hold for over 10 mins. to even get an LG certified tech assigned to our case. Took another week for THEIR certified tech to receive the new compressor from LG parts. (LG refuses to expedite shipping even when we offered to pay for it). He came, installed the new one & it’s STILL doesn’t work!!!!Admittedly, we were enamored by their products. We drank the “Life’s Good” Koolaid. The only element that differentiates one manufacturer, from another is their customer service when things go wrong. It’s easy to spew “Life’s good” mantra when people are spending millions on your products. It’s what a company does to help its brand loyal customers WHEN THINGS GO WRONG - that is the true measure of their worth. I was an LG brand loyal consumer. I’m over that now & hope to warn others so this nightmare doesn’t happen to them. My neighbor had a similar compressor problem with their Samsung fridge. They received a full refund for what they paid for it, in TWO DAYS!One of my husband’s cancer meds requires refrigeration. Even knowing that, LG customer service reps give the same rehearsed canned response; “we’re sorry for your inconvenience”. 1) They’re NOT “sorry” & 2) Being without a fridge for the whole month of August is considered well beyond “inconvenience”!!! They’re doing NOTHING except continuing to try to get it repaired at a snail’s pace. There’s NO possibility of getting anything done quick with them. I offered to give them MY FedEx acct. # to overnight another compressor. No, they can’t even do that. If I could afford to put this piece of garbage on the curb for trash pick-up, I would. But we bought all new appliances knowing we were going to be retiring & these were supposed to last us as we prepared to live on our fixed incomes. I would go buy a similar fridge by another brand manufacturer if I could, but we’re not drawing the salaries we once did. LG expects us to wait ANOTHER 3 wks or longer to see if their tech can replace the compressor, again. When asked if they could overnight it - no, that’s not their policy. They are a disgrace!!!

We have had this machine for almost two years, but being very busy in our lives have never actually watched the machine go through a full wash cycle, until I did it just recently. I put an average load of clothes in it and started a normal cycle. A little later I looked in to see that the clothes were only about half-immersed in water during the wash. Clearly, this was not good. I see that many people online have complained about this same problem. I find that the washer will only truly fill if the Bulky/bedding cycle is selected. Otherwise it simply will not put sufficient water in the tub for a proper wash. My fix to fool the machine is: start the load on Bulky, wait till it fills to the desired level, pause, change to normal and proceed. This will not make the rinse cycle fill up, but if you happen to catch it you can do the same for rinse. Sort of makes a joke of this high-tech automatic machine doesnt it?

The LG washer started making oil spots in our clothes. I learned from a friend who is a technician to apply DAWN dishwasher liquid to the spots and let soak. After washing, if the spots come out, its from the machine. I have to clean my machine once a month with a commercial cleaner that is expensive to use. The problem with the washer is that all the cycles except for the towel, bulky items, and large loads do not use enough water to get the soap out of the clothes. The so-called water saving modes are causing the spots. LG tech service is of no help. The LG dryer lint tray compacts the lint so if you dont clean inside the lint trap, the tray will not go all the way down. I had several clothes that were torn because of this. I will never buy another LG appliance again!

We purchased our matching washer dryer combo from Sears as part of our remodel on our bathroom when our prior set died for the 10th time in 6 years. However had I known that $20-$70 repairs would amount to less than the headaches I would now be dealing with, I would have kept those workhorses any day of the week. Not only does our washer smell like everyone elses no matter what remedy we try, but it leaks, and leaks, and LEAKS! Weve had it serviced 3 times in the last 6 mos. trying to replace things that were wrong from the motor to hoses to outlets and now find out theres lawsuits because of these issues. Because of cutting corners and faulty mechanisms I have to do more laundry, which causes more leaks, which causes more laundry, crazy cyclic cycle. When are we the consumers going to say ENOUGH and when is anyone going to have our backs to compensate and make this right for us? Im tired of paying and paying and paying while these companies continue to manufacture GARBAGE!!! My washer still leaks after dumping thousands of dollars down the drain! Thanks LG!!! I purchased an LG washer and dryer WM2140CW about two years ago. The washer did not work correctly from day #1 of installation. The door would only seal if I pressed very, very firmly to enable the lock to engage. However, this issue was such that I was the only person strong enough to make it happen and even then, I would have to close several times over before I could get it to latch. After about four or five visits, changing boards, door locks, and finally a new door, it was fixed. Within the past few weeks, the washer now has suddenly stopped powering on when the button is pressed. Since these devices come with a whopping one year warranty, its now out of that coverage. If I unplug and plug back in, a spark will appear, every time, and it may or may not work for a load of laundry. I contacted LG and they had me do a hard reset, power off, hold the power button, plug back in. After establishing the hard reset was probably not going to do anything, they gave me the names of the local businesses which were authorized to work on the machine. Now, I am looking at parts and labor in access of the original purchase price of the machine. If you buy an LG machine, after coming to this website and seeing a 90%+ unsatisfactory rating, then you get you what you deserve. I know I certainly regret not checking some review sites before my purchase.

Within 2 years of purchasing our top-load (no center agitator) washer/dryer set, the metal around the bleach dispenser in the washer began to rust. We lifted the top of the washer and the entire bottom was rusted. It looks as if the underside of the washer top was not sealed properly from water damage. We found many other similar complaints online and contacted LG, only to be told that the rust is cosmetic. Soon our bleach dispenser will be unusable. During a normal cycle, water runs through the bleach dispenser, so even if I stop using it for bleach, the rusty water will still enter the washer drum. There is no reality in which rust running into the washer should be considered cosmetic.

My LG double oven range was manufactured in July of 2014. I purchased it not long after. It is now December 2017 and it is over $500 to repair. A relay board has failed and LG cannot get me the part until after Christmas. I got rid of this bad product and purchased a GE stove. LG customer service was abysmal. I will never purchase another LG product again.

Bought a LG washing machine in December of 2011. In October of 2014 it just died with no warning. It cost $336.31 to fix. I tried to get help from LG with the cost of the repair and they either hang up on you or keep you on hold so long that the call gets lost. Even when you give them the information they ask for, they are still unwilling to help you with the cost of fixing it. They really act like they do not care about the financial burden in the consumer. The main board had to be replaced after less than 3 years. The serial # is 110kwhxax921 and the model # is WT4801CWABW(0). I will never purchase anything LG again.

Our LG range model LRE307578B/01 stopped heating in early December 2013. Called extended warranty company for repair service. Nite Owl Appliance Repairs, Inc. responded and evaluated our range on December 17 saying a relay and heating element were needed. On December 18 the appliance repair company said one of the parts had to be ordered because the LG warehouse did not have the part. Over 2 1/2 months have past and still no parts. Have contacted LG, the repair company and purchasing company (Home Depot) for help to be told parts are on order. Appliances break, I can handle that situation, but waiting for over 2 1/2 months for parts seems beyond reason. I truly believe our range is a lemon and should be replaced. Thank you.

I have three LG appliances and I have major problem with all.My microwave shelf makes contact with the oven wall because of too much play with shelf brackets and because the shelf should be smaller that what it is. It burned a line through to the metal and arced sparks. I wrote to the company service on the LG website but they did not reply. Today I called LG. The company representative said that it was no longer covered with warranty. I stressed that it was a safety issue and a design flaw. I switched to a supervisor who did not budge from that stand. I explained that it has been that way since day one but I had been very careful, that I always pull the shelf to the most forward position. Of course, as it should be safe for everyone. She said that she could have someone repair it at my expense. I said this was not acceptable. She then said I should buy microwave paint at the hardware store to fix the oven before using it again and not to operate it in the future with the shelf in, some solution! She also said the manual explains when to remove the shelf. I asked if it says never to use the shelf since that would be the only way to avoid the problem. She acknowledged that it did not. I reminded her of the light relay fire issue that they had with their refrigerators and that LG avoided the responsibility for that for about 4 years. Online reports made it clear that they only started to cover the repair recently on the 2005 models. I also made note of the problem with the leaking of the water through the seam between the two panels on the front of the dishwasher. She noted my problem but again, she said that it was off the warranty, but that she would send someone to my home to repair it at my expense. Again, this problem exists since day one. Someone needs to make these people responsible for their products. The refrigerator incident could have burnt my house down. Heaven knows what damage the toxic fumes from the microwave could cause.

Recalled for the off balance spin issue; repair took a week or two, then after software upgrade, was told I could not use the washer for washing some items that I need to wash in it - the reason I originally bought the machine in the first place. No apparent solution to this issue - only to purchase another machine. After this experience, would NOT purchase another LG washing machine...

The range looked very nice when I first bought it, but the plastic inside the knob broke after a couple of months. There is no easy way to replace the plastic. I just redid my whole kitchen and its embarrassing that now, I have to use a pair of pliers to turn the burners on and off. On top of it, the cover on the oven door is falling apart. Im extremely disappointed. I expected a better quality from LG.
