I have always bought LG products because they seem to last a lifetime and they look great in my kitchen. My washer and dryer are both LG and they play a little tune when my laundry is finished. I have gotten great compliments from friends and family alike on my washer and dryer. I plan to purchase a LG side by side to replace my current one as it is over 22 years old and should start giving me problems soon. But, I have not had any problems during this 22 years of service. I look forward to getting my new one.

I purchased this refrigerator, model LFD22860ST, from Sears in Feb. 2007. Two weeks ago, I smelled an electrical type smell that woke me up in the middle of the night. The light bulbs had been burning while the doors were shut. The wiring was burnt. The light cover was burned and melted off and was laying on top of food. The top of the liner had begun to melt as well. I managed to get one bulb out. The other bulb burned out. One of the plastic tabs in the upper inside corners of the french doors (the part that is supposed to keep the door firmly closed) broke off. And the bracket deep inside that you screw the tab into has broken out as well. So, there is no way to anchor/screw a new tab in even if I wanted to. Its the door with the controls and water in it, so its a challenge to make sure it is not coming open by itself. The plastic piece that runs across the lower inside, that holds the crisper bins in, has broken in the middle. So, every time you pull/push the bins back in, you have to struggle with that as well. The ice maker overfills. And when you open the bottom freezer door, ice cubes come tumbling out all over the floor. With that, Im constantly turning the ice maker either on or off. Ive noticed that LG has discontinued this model. Was it discontinued because of these problems? I paid an awful lot of money for this designer, stainless steel, french door refrigerator. I really expected it to last more than 4 years!

DO NOT BUY AN LG COUNTER TOP REFRIGERATOR FREEZER AT ANY PRICE!!! On Nov 3, 2013, I purchased an LG refrigerator-freezer model #LFC21776ST, Serial # 308TRJL49636. An extended warranty was also purchased to service this unit from New Leaf Service Pro, located at 909 Lake Carolyn Pkwy Suite# 900, Irving, TX 75039.On February 2, 2015, I reported to the warranty company, New Leaf Service Pro, that the freezer was not working, and that the automatic ice machine was not functioning. On February 6, 2015, a technician was sent out. He wrote up the issue that he adjusted the temperature controls. On May 15, the same issue was filed with the warranty co. This time, the technician said the ice bucket was not sitting correctly and that was why the ice was not forming. The very next day, I contacted New Leaf and told them that the freezer was still not working and the ice was not freezing. They told me to unplug the unit and replug it, and also to flip the circuit breaker. Again, on August 1, 2015, the same issue was occurring and I contacted New Leaf and asked for a new company to come out. They refused and said they could not change the service company in the middle of the issue (thus stating that it was the same issue all along). On Aug 6, 2015, once again New Leaf sent out a technician who said the computer board needed to be changed. After waiting 2 weeks for the part to be delivered, a 4th repair call was made on August 22, 2015, a fifth service visit was made and the computer was changed. THE UNIT STILL DID NOT FREEZE!After 5 failed attempts to repair this lemon LG refrigerator-freezer, the service company refused to replace the unit and finally sent out a new service technician for a second opinion, for a 6th attempt to repair this lemon. By this time, I had been without reliable or functioning freezer service since February 2015. I had to discard hundreds of dollars of food. This time, the repair company said it was the compressor that had to be replaced. Even though the compressor was covered by LG for 10 years under the manufacturers limited warranty, they refused to deal with this compressor failing because I had the extended warranty. The extended warranty company said they would not repair it unless I signed a damage waiver for them to enter my home (meaning that if they scratched my flooring or damaged a wall, they would not be responsible). I finally ended up removing the unit from the warranty company, and I am now on my own. I still do not have a functioning freezer since February 2015. Do NOT buy an LG unit and do NOT cover it with an extended warranty from New Leaf Service Pro.

I bought an LG refrigerator two years ago on the advise of the salesperson. First mistake. I was told they had good service. Two years later the compressor went bad, no support from LG, the repairman said he could order the compressor but they were backed ordered and could take up to a month to get one in. His hourly rate over a $100 an hour. He told me he has replace over ten compressors in the last year. Cheaper to buy a new refrigerator. Would I buy another LG. No way.

LG refusing to act to repair safety concern. LG gas stove is overheating during self clean cycle to a point that it damaging kitchen cabinets. According to LG statement air vent is at the stove bottom but it is in fact at the top vent. That was a head technician recommended to check our kitchen cabinets instead of dealing with design issue. LRG 3081ST gas stove - My first problem was that Best Buy never warned me that to convert this stove to propane was going to cost close to $300.00. The next problem was as soon as I started to use the product, the fan in the convection oven does not work most of the time, the controls are very difficult to use and very confusing, one of the burners does not work! After contacting Best Buy they told me I had to call LG, which I did. After many tries and disconnected calls I finally reached a person and he reluctantly set up an appointment with a local repair shop, and although she agreed the fan should work better but after calling LG they said it was normal and there was nothing she could do. But they did agree it probably should have a new burner but that is still on order. The stove is basically a cheap POS. I would not recommend anyone to buy this model.

They have not been able to provide a service person to repair it. As of today I was hung up on twice, an told that since the machine is now out of warranty to call Home Depot. Really, we spend 3 months working with you, providing you with a service provider in our area and now this. Never again will I buy anything with the LG name attached to it. I spoke to Sherry and Jessica in the executive services dept, very rude, one actually hung up on.

Bought our LG French door refrigerator Sept 2017, July of 2018 our fridge stopped working. Customer service is horrible. With every call we hear that we will get an email in 3 to 5 days and that there is no one to service it in this area so it will take longer for someone to come out. We never receive the emails and have put out 3 calls to them each time we are told we are on the list. After the second week of waiting, our fridge has started cooling again and we are unsure what to make if it. Nervous to use it since we are unsure if it will stop working again and we will be out more food items. With a fridge less than 1 year old that we are still paying for we are truly frustrated! It has now been 3 weeks of waiting and still nothing. Our fridge is under the 1 year warranty but what good does that do if nobody comes to fix it! Buyer beware!

It is a basic fridge with no special features: comes standard ice maker. It has the side by side freezer and cooler which is nice in its self. First of all, these products need to be simplified on the manufacturing to save the environment. I dislike the fact that I did not get any cool features, I do have a basic model. I wanted a smart fridge, but you have to make a ton of money in order to afford one decent feature. I dislike the fact that certain features do not come as standard. I initially chose this product due to the price and not the features. In 2019, they should really have standard luxury features. None of these companies really care about the customer, its all about a profit.

The washer creates air pockets with shirts, bed sheets, and other clothing which cause some clothing not to get wet at all. Customer service at LG had no idea what I was talking about. Do not waste your money on the washer, and do not bother getting Home Depot
Do not waste your money on the washer, and do not bother getting Home Depot extended warranty. Both are useless. LG doesnt want to know anything after only 1 year. Extended warranty states that it is not a covered service, so why the extended warranty? Just to get more money out of you. Washer has defect - seal gets damaged and they state it is not a mechanical problem, even though water is leaking due to the seal hole. The rep told me the seal just keeps the door closed, but the washer is working fine. The seal gets damaged due to a manufacture defect. They know this and so it is not covered. I searched many reviews and complaints are all the same. Do not bother purchasing LG products. You get no help in correcting their defects!

I purchased the LG washing machine WT1101C - top loading, glass top - in July 2013. I am very disappointed with this product. I have yet to wash a load that does not become unbalanced, and I have tried several different combinations of laundry items. The machine WILL rebalance the load - but it does this by jiggling and REfilling with water and spinning again. That process can be repeated as many times as necessary unless I intervene and redistribute the clothes myself. One day I left it alone to see what would happen and it washed for 2 hours! Energy Efficient?? No way - it uses too much water and takes too long even on the supposedly shortest cycles. Im going to donate it and get a brand I have had before and that has an agitator. The dryer works fine.

I spent almost $3000 on my fridge in Jan. of 2015. Last week it slowly stopped cooling, we didnt notice at first and then last Friday I realized it was barely cold. Started checking all the food and most was bad. We hadnt been home much so I looked in the freezer for the first time in a couple of days and everything was defrosted. Had to throw away 3.5 trash bags of food. I called LG, they gave me a authorized tech to come look at it, which he did on Friday. Did the unplug thing, wait hours and nothing. He came back on Sat. to tap the system to see if Freon was leaking - we only had 25% Freon running through the fridge which could also mean the compressor is bad as well. This tech was leaving to go on vacation, I decided I couldnt wait a week for him to come back so called LG to get another techs #. Tech 2 came out yesterday and discovered Tech 1 had illegally removed the tap after performing the Freon test and Freon had been leaking out of my fridge for 4 days! He also ruined whatever it is you connect the tap too. Tech 2 said now all my hoses are contaminated and this fridge will be a nightmare to repair, he probably will even decline the job because it could possibly mean weeks of having to come back on multiple occasions to get it fixed. Tech 2 called LG while here, documented everything with their tech support, pictures, videos everything. LG has extended the warranty for us but now they want us to have a 3rd Tech come out, has to be specific one and this company cant get out until the end of next week, we have already been extremely inconvenienced without a fridge for a week and now they want us to wait another week to get the 3rd authorized tech before they will proceed??? I called Tech 2 again today and he said he doesnt understand, he was already here yesterday, he is an authorized technician for LG and he documented everything, there is nothing else for him to do. Just today alone I have logged 8 calls with LG, takes an average of 7-10 minutes just to get where you need to be. If you want to talk to a supervisor they say one will call you back in 30 mins., over an hour later Im calling them back because I have not received a call from a supervisor. At this point Im getting upset and told the supervisor I just need a new refrigerator and her response was well thats not up to you. Very dissatisfied with the runaround Im getting from LG, I bought 4 appliances from them in 2015 and will never buy another one because of their antiquated customer service system. Also, should I be contacting the EPA, is my fridge still leaking Freon but LG says thats ok and just wait another week?? At this point I have lost two days of work, probably about $400 of food and my stress level is through the roof!

Sometimes the result of the rerun is loose dry items (ideal), or a dry compressed log still needing separation. This is a waste of owners time and effort. There was no such hassle with our old dryer. LG LFX21960 - We have had our LG French door water dispensing refrigerator for 5 years and what a waste of money it has been. The ice crisper drawers are cheaply made and fall off their track on a weekly basis. This problem began happening within a year of use. In the last year (so 4 years of use), our interior light bulb malfunctioned and melted its own plastic casing, our ice maker has broken and had to be replaced, and our water line (the one that runs the ice and water of the refrigerator) has sprung 2 separate pinhole leaks. Those leaks have caused water damage to our kitchen floor as well as the wall behind the refrigerator. All of the problems have been fixed at our expense. Not only that, we have had to use the LG service repairman to come out and fix our model. We have not been able to use our own repair service. I will never buy an LG product again!

Some of the dryer cycles dont run as long as theyre supposed to (and the clothes are still damp). This is one of the infamous models with the notoriously bad compressors. When the first repairman came out 9/30/2019, he diagnosed that it needed a full rebuild: compressor, evaporator, and dryer. LG rejected that estimate, mailed us a new compressor, and set up another appointment with the only other Certified LG Service provider in our area. The second company came out on 10/15 and replaced the compressor. The refrigerator seemed to be functioning normally for 10 days, just long enough for me to trust it again and fill it with groceries. Then it abruptly stopped working again. We were told that the earliest repair appointment would be 11/08, but that there was absolutely nooo wayyyy we would have to wait that long because this issue was being escalated to the early service list. We were given a $200 voucher for replacement groceries.11/08 Comes, and the service company is at our house again. He pokes around, makes a few phone calls, and determines that the refrigerator DOES need a new evaporator and cooler, but because the parts werent at my house, theyd have to come back. Their earliest appointment date was 12/3. The refrigerator was not freezing, but was holding at a pretty consistent 39 degrees, so we were able to still keep condiments and produce in the fridge. Thanksgiving passes without a functioning refrigerator.12/3, the fourth day we have taken off work for this issue, the repairman comes, spends three hours at my house, tells me he needs to make a phone call, and pulls out of my driveway leaving huge refrigerator parts behind. The fridge is now in worse shape than before, as it is not cooling at all. I also have old, ruined refrigerator parts that Ive been told to keep at my house until they can come back out and collect/recycle them responsibly. The fridge maintains a constant 78 degrees, which is 13 degrees warmer than I even heat my house in the winter...That night, we were told by LG that we would qualify for a refund or replacement of the refrigerator and that they would send us an email with a portal for uploading documents, but when I called back a few days later after never receiving the information, I was told that some sort of malfunction had caused them to delete my email address from the ticket. With each conversation I have with LG, and with the Certified LG Companies that they choose to do business with despite the most 1 star reviews I have ever seen on Google, I am left more flabbergasted and confused. My fiance is a construction worker, and I am a high school teacher. I have never experienced the level of disrespect and inconsistency as I have with LG throughout this ordeal. We have had to take off four days of work, lost 100s of dollars in groceries, and countless hours on the phone due to no fault or negligence of our own. I cant believe a multi-million dollar international company cannot do any better than this. We have another appointment on 12/27, so I will not be able to host another family holiday, and that will mark exactly three months since our fridge was rendered inoperable the first time.

I am the owner of a 2 year old LG French door refrigerator that failed over
I am the owner of a 2 year old LG French door refrigerator that failed over Thanksgiving. Being it was the holidays, I took to dealing with the matter immediately by contacting LGs customer service department. In the initial conversation, we determined that the issue was likely the compressor, which if true, would be covered under warranty. Learning that an authorized technician was needed to service the appliance I was then given a phone number to a local service dealer in the Scottsdale area. This company did not return my call but, I was able to get through the week after Thanksgiving. They told me that they had only one technician on staff authorized and he was out of town for 3 weeks. This was not acceptable being the holidays and the fact that we had a full house.Through my own inquiry, I found one repair service willing to work on LG appliances... most would not because they have a pretty bad reputation it appears. The only issue, was that we needed to have him authorized. This I was able to begin through a chat with a member of the LG customer service department, however, the authorization was never put forward I was to discover. This required another online chat, some apologies and eventually a successful authorization for my serviceman. Now able to open the back of the appliance, indeed it was discovered to be an issue with leaking coolant and a faulty part (parts). Now began the test of getting the parts (under warranty) ordered and delivered to my repairman. The part was ordered and we waited. I requested that someone contact me to let me know when it would arrive. This was wishful thinking. I opened another chat to see where the part was and the LG agent could not find any information and asked for a PON number which I did not have. He said perhaps the part was on back order. To shorten a very long litany of my technician and myself spending hours of precious time getting the runaround with (excuse me) a very incompetent customer service system; my repairman was told after many conversations with the parts dept., that 30 day deadline was expired and we have to start all over again. So another chat last week resulted in a request for authorization again and I was told a rush request would be made for second authorization. I was also again promised that the agent would keep me posted. Yea right. Having no fridge for the holidays with a houseful of family is frustrating in and of itself and 2K plus fridge should not fail in just two years; add a complete run-around by the folks we trusted with hard earned money with their brand over many other choices on the market, to simply supply a part and authorize and repair completely beside myself. All I need is a warrantied part, a second authorization (since time expired because of LG inefficiency), an LG customer service person who will see the process through and an attempt by LG to stand by its motto; life is good. I believe all agree that those requests are reasonable. To date I have had 6 chats average 40 minutes each, three long phone calls, a long wait for the supervisor but disconnected after 20 minutes, 4 letter submissions and a technician about to give up because of time lost from numerous calls to the parts department and total frustration. The fridge failed 11-24-16 and todays date is 1-13-17 and zero success. If anyone knows of a way I can pressure these people for one or two damned parts; (that my service guy could have fixed it in one hour two months ago) please let me know.

So we splurged and bought one of those washing machines with all the bells and whistles. Rust formed around the bleach dispenser after just over a year. This is completely unacceptable. It continues to grow daily and is not cosmetic to me. I have never had a washing machine rust out on me, what will this look like after 3 years? 5 years? If it lasts that long. There were some huge lawsuits back many years ago with auto manufacturers and rusting vehicles. Maybe an attorney should look into a class action suit against LG. A $1200 washing machines shouldnt rust. If they do, you should get relief from the company not the runaround.

I requested for LG to come and fix my refrigerator since the 15th of June. It is over 2 weeks and I am still waiting for an answer. I would advise that no one should ever buy any appliance from LG. Their customer service is terrible. I do not wish for anyone to live for one month without a refrigerator. Now they are telling me that I will hear back in 20 more days. I wish they go out of business for good for lying to customers...

It was energy efficient and self defrosting. Very reliable. Fantastic refrigerator that was very easy to clean. Items kept at the proper temperature. Quiet. But do wish the dial was easier to reach. It was towards the back of mine. Im short and short arms so hard to reach that far. Other than the dial though it was a terrific refrigerator. Served us very well. I am very happy with LG overall.

LG has the worst customer service. I just got told by one of their supervisors that it isnt her problem. We paid almost 1800.00 for a side by side (model #LFC25765st100) less than 3 years ago and now we have spent $230.37 to have it fixed and it still does not work. After over 3 weeks without a refrigerator to be treated like dirt by their customer service department isnt sitting well with me. They told us we had to use one of their factory authorized repair companies but when I was speaking to the supervisor she told me that was a lie and I could use whoever I wanted with their approval. They lied about 12 times to me in total and will do nothing to fix my refrigerator except charge me another $400.00. I will be spending half of what the refrigerator cost and it is only 3 years old. I thought LG was a good product but I will never buy another and everyone I know will be told to stay away from them.

I have never written a review before! But I think now is the time! Frustration has taken over. We have all LG in our home (Washer, Dryer, Smart TV, Sound Bars, Dish Washer, Fridge with water and ice, Microwave, and Stove). I believe all are less than 3 years old. I agree with the other people who have written reviews on the dishwasher, it does not clean very well. Works best if you only have it half full and dishes have lots of space between them. Have to put it on pre-soak and then the 2-hour cycle. But it is quiet! Now for the frustration, our stove. We have the flat top with upper and lower ovens. Great idea as we use the upper oven for most things. The glass in the doors have stains between the glass. We called and it is a common issue and they recommend having the glass removed and have it cleaned but it will get dirty again so be prepared to do it somewhat often. The upper ceramic top has 4 elements (2 small in the back and two large in the front). My preference would be 1 small and 1 large in both back and front like most stove tops. One of the large front elements burned out a few weeks ago. We called to order the element and install it myself. Not a hard task if you are at all mechanically inclined. You cannot order parts and work on LG unless you are a certified repair shop?? It was not a money issue, it was something I wanted to do. So we prepaid on our visa to have a LG service person come in and replace the element. They said they would be there so we would have to have someone home between 7AM and 7 PM (odd, but one of the family members stayed home from work that day, they were to call just before arriving). They never showed up or called?? We called LG and questioned why and rescheduled for yesterday. Again no one showed up!! I called last night (on the phone for 1 hour and 10 minutes). The end result was they would credit our Visa and we could call a service repair shop ourselves (has to be LG trained) and get it fixed ourselves!!! Life is Good.

Out of warranty, 3 year old top of the line all stainless unit (3.7 cu. ft. capacity), now water temperature goes up to 98 F at most during all wash cycles. A Sears’ contract proved no better. The Sears tech put in a new heater unit, it made no difference. Even though the water is tepid at best, the worker from Sears says it is working fine and he sees nothing wrong with the machine until a month ago. I got nice hot water when I washed my clothes. Now, I have to settle for tepid water or cold.

I had a technician come from Sears who ordered the wrong part which fit the unit but the wiring jacket was different.I tried to order that part again today, (6 months later) thinking I could rewire the part myself. SHOCK! That part was no longer available as well. In fact there was a long list of Display Assembly Boards no longer available for LG products! The technician I talked to stated that LG was notorious for this problem! Sorry LG. Your customer service rely that things go wrong with electronic equipment from time to time is a lame excuse! We bought a LG washer (top loading.) and dryer set at Best Buy, 20 June 2016. They looked like quality products, but we were very mistaken. The washer spends a lot of time load sensing, almost as much as washing. A lot of clicking going on, and the tub jiggles back and forth for a few minutes before the washing cycle starts. Even with Extra Water, selected, it is barely enough to get the clothes thoroughly wet in the wash cycle. The clothes in the very middle of the tub never hardly move during the agitation, so they do not really get washed good. Then during this last week the washer goes from wash cycle to spin cycle. It forgets the rinse cycle. Also, we can only get hot water, never warm. For some reason the warm setting is always cold. It also takes a long time just to wash a load of clothes. The dryer will not dry our clothes completely, but we work around that problem, and we shouldnt have to. We had a Kenmore washer and dryer set for thirteen years, and never had many problems. I worked as a product designer for many years, and our company had strict rules for testing and designing before any new product was introduced to the market. I can hardly believe that LG is putting these defective new products out to the marketplace. Anyway, we are disgusted, and learned a very expensive lesson.

When we purchased the WT5101HW Washing machine we did so because my Maytag Neptune machine (Which contributed to Maytag going bankrupt) had to be replaced. I had thought LG would be a great experience, I was wrong. Initially the machine worked well and was efficient as expected, however that did not last. My wife noted that the clothes would smell musty and the machine took a long time to finish. We cleaned the machine monthly and left the lid up when not in use and put up with the lackluster performance. Last year things became decidedly worse when frequent UE errors began to appear and the machine would fill with water to almost the top. When I contacted LG an appointment was set for a technician to repair the machine. The first visit was a software update. No effect. The 2nd visit the Stator Assembly and Rotor Assembly were replaced. No effect. The third visit the Housing Assembly, Clutch Coupling, Stator Assembly, Rotor Assembly and Pulsator Assembly were replaced. Issues persists. The fourth visit the PCB Assembly, Display was replaced at which point the service rep indicated that just about everything replaceable was replaced. The machine appeared to work ok for a short while, however still using excess quantities of water and sounding like a helicopter landing when in spin cycle. The UE errors persist. We lived with this a while and then my wife mentioned our water bill has about tripled ever since the repairs. On contacting LG again I was told they would be happy to send at our cost a service technician and that the machine was now too far out of warranty for any other recourse. The original issue was never resolved and persists.I can no longer in good conscience recommend any LG Washing Machine. I have multiple short videos on my phone of the machine filling with water in attempt to balance and with the UE flashing in the background. There is no True balance as advertised and if high efficiency means using more water and being prone to developing black mold then the machine is highly efficient, just not in cleaning, conserving water or energy.

Our dryer failed during a run, and would not power back on. I checked the circuit breaker and the plug, and unable to restart the unit, I placed a service request with LG. Over the past month I have experienced nothing but frustration and disappointment from LG customer service. I have been given inaccurate information, been repeatedly told to expect a call back or email about service status, but the only communication I have had with LG is when I have initiated contact. Please note that because I have two children, one of whom is still out of school because of the pandemic, the only times I can call when the 800 number is operating is on W and F when I am commuting to/from onsite days at my job. Below is a detailed timeline of my experience:Th 4/15. Dryer breaks during run. Test fuse, power line, reset per manufacturer’s instructions. Fr 4/16. Submit ticket through LG website describing problem. Sa 4/17. Receive email response from website instructing me to do the troubleshooting I had already completed prior to submitting ticket to website. Call LG 800 number to request repair. Told that I would hear back within 24-48h about getting an LG service technician. Tu 4/20. Call LG because I received no call back. Am informed that they could not find a local technician, and my request was being escalated to the regional services team. Fr 4/23. Call LG for a status update. Rep informs me that they have 5 business days to find local authorized technician, but that if they cannot within 5 days, I can get a replacement authorization. W 4/28. Call LG again, to request replacement authorization. Am told I need to wait an additional 48h for update.F 4/30. Call for status update. Rep tells me that information I received on 4/23 about replacement is incorrect, and that regional services is still looking for repair. Request transfer to executive services. Call gets cutoff partway through. Attempt to call back, but service line is closed for the day. Particularly disappointed that the executive services person I was speaking with did not call me back, because the first thing he asked for was my phone number, in case we got disconnected.W 5/5. Call LG; request immediate transfer to executive services. Rep curtly informs me that they have hundreds of thousands of technicians, just none in our area. Furthermore, that LG has 30 days from my initial call to locate repair services, so I am not yet entitled to a replacement dryer. However, she does provide me with contact info for an authorized service provider in American Canyon. I contact said service provider, Linet Electronics. Technician at Linet tells me that yes, they do service our model of dryer, and they do service our town (35 miles away), and yes he does have availability. He advises against booking him directly for warranty repairs, because then I will need to work request reimbursement from LG for the repair.W 5/12. Call LG; request they contract with Linet Electronics to service our dryer. I provide phone number, but the rep insists that I need to provide email and postal address, too. They should have this information, since I got the phone number from their authorized service system, which is infuriating. I call back once I have the email and post address. The new rep calls Linet, but Linet wants an extra $225 to do the service call, and so LG will not authorize service (this strikes me as absurd, since replacing the unit outright, or providing me a refund, will undoubtedly cost more than the service call with a surcharge). I am told that regional service has 2 chances to find someone in our area before we qualify for replacement, but apparently hasn’t done anything since my first escalation on 4/20 (15 business days ago). Rep promises that I will get a call back within 24-48h about warranty replacement. I tell him I am highly doubtful about that, since I have not received any updates, by phone or email, at any point so far. That my only contact with LG has been contact that I initiated. Th 5/13. Much to my surprise, Jacob, the rep I spoke with on 5/12, calls me back to let me know there has been no action on my replacement request yet. He promises to call me back in 24h. F 5/14. No call back from Jacob. Monday will be 30 days since my dryer broke. I will call LG and demand they send a replacement dryer, though I am not confident they will honor their warranty obligations at this point.

On June 6, 2010 I bought an LG wm2301hr washer from Best Buy. Today we found that this washer had a slow leak in a faulty valve at the top of this unit that must have been leaking for a while. The way we found was that there’s a moldy smell in the closet behind the wash room with lots of black mold growing under the baseboards. Now, we have ruined carpet, ruined clothes, ruined sheetrock and baseboards and a washer that I have to fix myself. I expected a lot more quality for an $1100.00 washer. Best Buy said sorry. Im a professional mechanic and electronics tech. I just had to replace a relay and two corroded microswitches due to poor design of the icemaker hatch. Weak return springs prevent a tight seal when not in use, allowing moisture from ice melt to drip down past the hatch and, as evidenced by mineral scale, into the chamber containing the relay board, front panel control board, and the in-door ice and water lever microswitches (!). Observed heavy corrosion on electronic parts and fasteners inside, as well as around the front seal where it meets the metallic enclosure. The front seal, intended to prevent moisture intrusion from the exterior of the unit, instead prevents moisture introduced by the ice chute from escaping the chamber. This oversight exposes control boards and electronic parts and connectors to sustained high-humidity environment (!). Control boards inside are not potted (no resin/silicone/thermoplastic encapsulation) and there are no rubber seals on electrical connectors contained within. ICs, pads, and components on the front panel control board show corrosion and, in my opinion, are not long for the world. Ive added a desiccant pack inside the chamber and a bead of silicone sealant under the defective icemaker hatch behind the front bezel to mitigate the design oversight and hopefully extend the life of my investment. Rust at the bottom of the front control panel may be an indicator of the problem described above on your unit.Additionally, the linear compressor used in this fridge is currently the focus of a class action lawsuit (which I am not party to). LG asserted that these units can have up to a 20 year lifespan (avg of 14 years) but have had a significant portion of units fail starting around the 3-year mark. My compressor is still functioning for now but Ive purchased a 3rd party wireless temperature monitoring panel with sensors for both compartments to mitigate the risk of foodborne illness associated with a failing compressor. This appliance is at best, a very poor investment. At worst, it is a hazard to my wife and children. Moisture intrusion behind the front panel presents a reliability problem, a mold hazard, and a fire hazard due to the line voltage connections within. The poor design choices make it clear that the engineers involved with the project had some serious deficiencies in failure mode analysis, fail-safe design, and keeping with good engineering principals. Ive experienced similar design oversights involving moisture control with other LG products Ive owned and maintained (LG window unit AC, LG Waveforce washer and dryer) and will never purchase another LG appliance. Longevity is important to me, but does not seem to be a priority for LG. My wife thinks it looks pretty in our kitchen, so theres that I suppose. Hopefully the compressor fails and I can get this stylish lemon out of here soon..

Then it completely stopped working on 2/7/2021. I had to throw so much food on Super Bowl Sunday morning. The CL E error code on the control panel turned out to be an issue with a compressor. The part is even backordered for 2 months. I requested a replacement. I didn’t want to deal with the repair since it is definitely a lemon with a major defect. This appliance is not reliable. It will give the same problem over and over even with the replacement of the compressor. Who wants to exchange a compressor at a brand new $4000 worth refrigerator?! Pacific Sales manager was no help. I talked to many people at Best Buy customer service. They didn’t want to do anything for a customer since their 15 day return period was over and I didn’t buy their Geek Squad protection. I was told LG’s replacement or reimbursement process takes up to 6 weeks and the approval is not even guaranteed. They may attempt to repair first. I have already lived without a refrigerator for a month and now I am unsure of how long I have to live more without it. I have been calling LG customer service 3-4 times every week for a month to follow up. I have to repeat myself whenever I call for 30-40 mins because the notes are not complete and they don’t have a matching report from a tech side. Return authorization department is never connected even with an hour wait. It is ridiculous you get to use a refrigerator only for 2 months and you don’t get any help or support despite $4000 spent on an appliance with a major defect. I’m so frustrated with all the inconvenience caused by this refrigerator. I hope Best Buy and LG build up a better follow up system and prompt return service for defective products.

We bought the top of the line LG Front Load Washing Machine 3 years ago. We had a repairman out 1 mo ago to service our LG dryer and while he was here he said our washing machine was about to go. He pointed out the loud noise we heard was from the drum that was about to disconnect from the machine. One month later, thats exactly what happened. When I called LG they said the drum was covered but the service was not. I called two of the recommended service repair people and the estimates I received were $695 and $800. I called LG back and asked if this was typical of a 3-year-old washer. I was told it was not their fault that I didnt buy the extended warranty! They do not stand behind their products!

In 2008 I purchased a four piece kitchen appliance set from LG. Within a year the knobs on the stove started to cracked. I was not aware that there was a recall in 2010 to replace these knobs. Since purchasing this set I have had to replace the dishwasher and the refrigerator as both of them stopped working or begin leaking to the point of repair costing more than replacement. I contacted LG about the knobs recently and they informed me that if I was the original purchaser they would replace the knobs one time for free. After one month of waiting I did not receive the knobs and gave them a call. They then informed me that my request was denied which is why I did not receive the knobs. According to their records my stove was unaffected by this issue. I offered to supply them with pictures of the knobs proving in fact my stove was affected. Not only did they not care that I would never buy LG products again but they did not even have the decency to call me and inform me that they were not going to fulfill the commitment of providing me with the knobs. For any consumer out there interested in buying an LG, I would think twice.

On Feb. 6, 2017 our 11 month-old LG refrigerator stopped cooling. Since that time the compressor has been replaced and the main motherboard. Nearly 2 months later the freezer is inoperable as well as the ice maker. The refrigerator is semi-warm. I have asked for an exchange, and the service companies believe we have a lemon. LG refuses to exchange it. Their parts-shipping times, responses, and their techs on the phone are awful to deal with. We bought LG, expecting to trust and enjoy it. It is horrible! My husband and I bought our LG refrigerator about 14 months ago. We were not offered an extended warranty and did not think to purchase one in the midst of the chaos of purchasing our first new home. Setting that aside, I recently contacted LG with a problem and they refused to help us saying I needed to pay a service company to come out for something I feel they should take responsibility for. The issue being that a screw had come loose behind the ice maker and completely unaware, had dropped into our ice causing it to go into my husbands smoothie. While in the NutriBullet I heard a noise, assuming it was the ice, like it always does, then when it continued I went to stop the machine, it was too late, because just then the screw burst out the side causing a terrible mess everywhere. Now I need to replace the cup and chopped up blade to our NutriBullet. LG wants to take no responsibility whatsoever. I personally feel they should at least send me a replacement screw and possibly help pay for the replacements. My opinion is this was a defect and should be covered, being it was barely out of the warranty period. I am just glad that no one swallowed that screw causing physical damage. My advice... Be sure to get an extended warranty, if its not offered, ask for one! Products just arent built like they used to be! (It was quite baffling trying to figure out where a white screw came from... Until I traced it back to the ice machine, and there it was, an empty hole behind the ice container.) Now to find a replacement screw for it, I cant afford to pay for a service call for a little screw. Amazing how something so tiny can make such a big mess! :/

We bought a home with a new LG side-by-side refrigerator already installed. We have been in the house for 4 years and have had a service call on the refrigerator freezer at least 5 times. 1. The fan motor went bad, so the compressor shut down, causing food to defrost. 2. Water would not flow from the dispenser or to the ice maker. One of the solenoids was bad. 3. The ice cube tray that makes the ice was warped, so the water would overflow into the ice bin and freeze all the ice together. Apparently, the heater for the tray causes the tray to warp over time.4. The hose in the back that supplies water to the icemaker developed a leak and soaked our floors. This was repaired and it re-occurred multiple times. This issue is so common with LG that there is a procedure on YouTube on how to replace and repair the hose. I have owned refrigerators for 20 years with no problems. I believe LG definitely has a quality problem, so buy at your own risk.

In 2008 we bought an LG range. On the first cleaning, soot went into the oven door window. The same thing happened with the replacement range. LG then gave us a better range at no additional charge with the understanding that we could make no further claims. We havent, but the third range had the same problem. Additionally, the whole back of the range moves when you try to turn something on. Now theres a crack there caused by the mere force of turning on a burner. Those burners take a long time to do small kitchen tasks like boil water. I bought an electric kettle for that. The range takes a full 10 minutes to get to 420. This is an extremely disappointing product.

Our LG range was emitting dangerous levels of carbon monoxide. After two weeks and first paying a $200 flat fee, an LG approved technician finally came and replaced some parts and fixed it. He said it likely a manufacturers defect but he cant say 100% which means that LG keeps their fee. In the meantime, Ive written two letters to LG (where it says they will reply within 24 hours) and gotten no response, spoken with two customer service managers who show no concern for the fact their appliance put my family in danger, and spent way too much time on hold on the telephone and online chat with very little to show for it. Their lack of customer service is appalling.

Absolute worst customer service ever. $3000 Refrigerator stopped working one month after going out of warranty, so basically at the 13 month period. Had to purchase a repair plan for $350 to get it fixed. Repair person has been here three times and it is still not working over one month later. I have been living out of coolers for a month now. Now they are telling me they have to get authorization to order a new part, which if that goes through wont arrive for another week. This is ridiculous that we should have to go through this for this long. I replaced all the appliances in my kitchen last year with new LG and this is what I get. The drawer is broken. The plastic on the shelves have fallen off and the ice maker lever fell off a year ago. It is not a quality refrigerator for the price of $2200.00 made by LG. I also purchased the LG dishwasher at the same time and had to have service on it 5 times. It never cleaned the dishes very well and I tried to talk to customer service at LG and not only were they rude, the woman in customer service was threatening and nasty to me on the phone. I went two months at one time without a dishwasher when the dishwasher was fairly new. The customer service did not want to hear from me or help me in any way. This dishwasher cost $700. We purchased an LG refrigerator model # LFXS29766s and an LG double oven stove on 9/3/2016 after the salesperson raved about the quality and reliability of LG’s appliances. On the evening of 8/22/2019 the refrigerator failed (just shy of the 3 year mark). The freezer started to defrost and the ice makers stopped working. By the next morning the refrigerator had stopped cooling and food was found at room temperature. Everything was tossed. A claim was filed through Home Depot (where product was initially purchased with a 5 yr protection plan) and was then forwarded to LG. I was informed on Monday 8/26 by an LG manager that there is no local service department in my area and that service was scheduled through a subcontractor (A&E Service) with the soonest availability being 9/17/2019 (3 weeks out) and that they had no one else that would/could service the refrigerator. They said they could escalate to 9/9/2019 but that is the very best they could offer which is still 2 weeks. The LG manager I spoke to said they would reimburse me up to $200 if I bought a mini fridge to hold us over. I already have a mini fridge and it isn’t suitable unless I plan on feeding my family cereal for the next 2 weeks. We need a functioning refrigerator ASAP and if I go out and buy a new one I’ve basically just thrown away the $2,442.00 I spent on this one. Now we sit here, stuck with a faulty refrigerator, no food in the house and we’re expected to wait weeks for a resolution. This is not acceptable.

I have an LG Tromm Washer and Dryer. I have only had it for a few years. As others have complained, the washer has a foul smell due to the mold that grows as a result of the water getting trapped in the rubber door seal (poor design/manufacturer defect). Its not like LG did not know about it. Look at all of the complaints. There is definitely negligence on their part at this point. At the very least, there should have been a label put on the machine that warns you not to use it in a small space, which is unrealistic since most laundry rooms are not large. How come this product has not been recalled due to the health hazard? In addition now, I cant find the reason why the dryer does not make any noise (although it does turn on) and the washer wont even turn on! Maybe this is a blessing in disguise to get rid of these machines. Unfortunately, most people are being duped out of a small fortune to buy them without being fully informed of the health hazard. This may need additional legal action. My child now has respiratory problems/asthma and is on medication daily. I have also developed an adult-onset asthma.

Purchased a $1500 5 burner range (gas) late Nov 2013. Was delivered and installed December 2013. Used the cook top, but not the oven until Christmas. Christmas day dinner was ruined due to oven not functioning properly. Took twice the time to cook as it should have, nothing browns, everything looks anemic. Called Home Depot and got LG certified tech information. First visit January 2014, next 2 visits included 2 new sensors and a control board. Still does not work properly. Multiple calls to LG, and was promised that after 3 visits and 3 parts replaced it was deemed a lemon and would be exchanged for new range. Never happened. 10 months and 8 tech visits later, and I still dont qualify for exchange/replacement. Executive services is useless. Adrienne (the supervisor of all supervisors) asked for receipt and invoice to be faxed for the resolution team. Faxed immediately after conversation and one week later was told I STILL dont qualify for exchange or refund. When I asked her what does qualify she said, as an LG customer you are on a need-to-know basis. She refused to tell me! I have not encountered ONE LG person who has been helpful or even nice. I will soon be replacing all 5 major LG appliances with Samsung. NEVER WILL I BUY LG AGAIN. Luckily Home Depot has facilitated this interaction and I am now getting my money back. Within the first year of owning a new LG gas range, the 5 burner control knobs were breaking where the knob slides onto the shaft of the gas control mechanism. I tried repairing it myself and it worked for a while, but now they are so bad they need replacing. Why can it not be made of metal? This simple solution would solve the problem. While searching various parts replacement sites, the knobs are over $70.00 each to replace. 5 x 70 = $350.00 for knobs? Is this customer service and support after the sale? I am so disappointed in the quality of these knobs and the expense to replace them that I may replace the whole range on principle and never purchase an LG product again, of any type. What happens when I put the new knobs on and they crack and break? Another $350.00 in todays dollars for knobs? I dont think so. I have checked around and there are no replacement knobs of better quality available. LG needs to get their act together.

The top loading LG Smart Drive was purchased when we moved to a new home. We have had nothing but problems ever since. It becomes unbalanced frequently. When it becomes unbalanced, it adds more water in an attempt to swish the clothes to regain balance. Waste!!! This washer is unbalanced more than it is in balance. Sometimes it takes 2 days to wash a load of clothes. Ridiculous. In addition, I am never able to wash a small load - EVER. A small load in this machine is like a free ticket straight to unbalanced status. Bought top load washer & dryer. Very first load ripped almost new $85 shirt and washcloth half. Called LG and they sent repair person out to view shirt and washcloth. Told to return it to HH Gregg and get a new washer, did so and contacted LG to pay for shirt. After sending tons of pictures, many calls, they refused to pay since I no longer had the original machine (go figure??? Their LG repair person said to return it). Often have to rewash clothes, not enough water, loud, major wrinkles, etc. Then a recall for the machine comes and schedule appointment with LG for repair person to handle recall. They come out, update software to the machine??? and then tell me not to wash anything in the machine that sheds water (waterproof? like mattress covers, etc.). Hmmm. Then he tells me my dryer doesnt dry because there are sensors in the dryer that get coated with dryer sheet film and it confuses the dryer. Oh and the replaced machine ripped another shirt, even though you have to button shirts, pants, and turn inside out!!!! LG washers/dryers dont wash and dry like regular washers and dryers we have all been used to in the past. The new save water costs more water and electricity by having to rewash and dry so many times. LG COULDNT CARE LESS EITHER AFTER YOU HAVE BOUGHT IT! He also told me my unit did not have energy saver and I was standing in front of my A/C reading all the functions with all the controls on it. He had no clue what I was talking about. Bought the top-loading Inverter Direct Drive about 3 years ago. This is the biggest POS appliance we have ever owned! Washer gets unbalanced with almost every load - no matter how small or large. It mostly gets unbalanced at 34 minutes remaining and at 11 minutes remaining. Unless you use the bulky setting, you get next to NO water in the tub. And the very WORST PART is that it has RUINED countless shirts, pants, and shorts. It will put dark, short streaks (stains) ON YOUR CLOTHES THAT YOU CANNOT GET OUT. I purchased all the appliances in my kitchen LG 6 years ago. The Microwave broke two months ago and Now the refrigerator stop working two weeks ago. I contacted LG and the problem has not been solve. They changed the compressor but the freezer and ice maker is not working at all. I lost so far over the 300.00 in food, and I have to purchase food outside every day for the family because I dont have place to keep my food. I spoke with the technician and he doesnt have a clue what is going on. I think that their equipment has manuf issues that needs to be addressed by the company. I need a new refrigerator from them, otherwise I will get a lawyer this week and walk to their office in Englewood and solve my problem one way or other, but I need good equipment. What can I do?

I purchased my LG Waveforce washer from Sears (thankfully it was on sale).
I purchased my LG Waveforce washer from Sears (thankfully it was on sale). I have the same problem as the Shannon in LA. Takes forever to wash a load, from the error codes. This started from the beginning and I called LG and every time they came out it would not duplicate. Finally after months of this and many phone calls to LG, they actually replaced it. Same thing. I just gave up and have been dealing with this washer for about 4 years now, waiting till it completely dies and I can buy a new washer. I sure do miss my old Kenmore that had a ringer in the middle. That one got my clothes clean. There is never enough water to get the clothes really clean, if and when it finishes washing which takes double time because it stops and starts over. The only setting I use is the bulky/bedding one because it uses the most water. I can never leave the house once I start a load, because it would never finish. Thankfully its only me, dont wash much and I sit near it, so I can hear when it ** up. The clothes smell moldy after washing them, and the machine is always smelly after a wash. I hate this piece of crap.

Purchased new refrigerator from RC Willey 18 months ago with our new house,
Purchased new refrigerator from RC Willey 18 months ago with our new house, have had an LG frontload washer and dryer for over 7 years without an issue. Fridge had great reviews and we really liked the door-in-door. Has worked flawlessly until yesterday. Found water all over the floor (luckily we found it quickly and cleaned it up, it would have eventually ruined our laminate floors (except I have not pulled out the fridge to check underneath). Checked with the manual and went through all the troubleshooting, nothing worked. Called customer service, and they quickly set-up a case number and scheduled a technician to come and see what is wrong. Had the service company call me the next day and confirm an appointment for the following day (Good so far, right? Except all of our frozen food is thawed. Luckily my wife is a florist and she has a floral cooler that we put our refrigerated items in). Two hours later the same person called back and said that they cant do the service call, they do not do LG warranty work. They would call LG and have them schedule someone else. Wanting to make sure that no-one dropped the ball, having no fridge/freezer is a major inconvenience, I called LG service back and asked if the cancellation had been taken care of and a new service company scheduled. It had not. The customer service person was apologetic and said that they needed to get an authorized service company scheduled to come service the refrigerator, because not all companies are equipped to handle cooling issues. Why wasnt this already figured into the request? The person also let me know that the service will hopefully get set up tomorrow (Friday 1/18/2019), and I should hear back next Monday or Tuesday. They gave me another case number. So I went back to the original text response I received from LG Customer Service, it indicated an authorized repair service located 68 miles away. Except I called them and they wont do any work on LG refrigerators without a work authorization code from LG. A cooling issue? They told me they arent equipped to work on LG cooling issues anyway. So then I started looking on-line to see if this was a common problem. Way too many nightmare customer service stories for an issue that is an obvious defect. I would not choose to be without a fridge/freezer for any length of time, and would want to replace it with another product quickly. Pretty disappointed in this product that was pretty expensive.

Purchase this LG Electric Range LRE3012ST in 2011 and oven stopped heating
Purchase this LG Electric Range LRE3012ST in 2011 and oven stopped heating correctly in August 2016. Repairman stated the oven control board and oven sensor need replacing. The oven sensor part was available, however LG no produce the oven control board. I call LG and they referred me to ENCompass who in turn sent an incorrect part; was later told by customer service, part was not available and there was nothing they could do. How can you produce products and not parts for the products? I have not been able to reach executives as of to date and still without a working oven. Bad... customer service.

I found this site while researching LG FL washers. I have had an LG WM2010C
I found this site while researching LG FL washers. I have had an LG WM2010CW washer for years now. I went through the mold issue and solved it with common sense. Im not disparaging anyone here with mold issues but these suggestions fixed my issue which was minor in comparison.Clean out the filter at the bottom of the machine; then run a clean cycle with a cup of vinegar. Pour it into the dispenser for detergent, not the bleach dispenser. When the cycle is done, re-clean the filter and wipe out interior with vinegar. Get out the goop manually. Remove the dispenser drawer and wipe out the entire compartment with vinegar. Allow to air dry overnight leaving out the drawer. Replace the drawer and run a rinse to remove the vinegar. Quit using fabric softener or dryer sheets and switch to an unscented powder detergent. You need to be able to smell the machine. Use 2 tbsp. per load for moderate water, 1 if your water is soft. Adjust up or down as needed from there. Fill the softener compartment with white vinegar. Run an extra rinse on every load to work on the buildup. If you are using scented detergent and its still strong-smelling after the cycle, it isnt rinsing out. To monitor rinsing, add a gallon of water through dispenser drawer during rinse cycle, or more if needed, to see water. If detergent isnt rinsing out, either the oil or dirt is in your clothes. Do this for a month or so as every load of clothes will be reintroducing mold to your machine. Fabric softener is made from animal fat and will get rancid and breed mold. It also leaves fatty, greasy residue on your clothes that detergent must cut through. Detergents are alkaline so the mold in your washer needs that environment. The vinegar is a mild acid. Once your washer is back to normal and you have detergent dosage worked out, use a max of a tbsp. of softener or mix softener (50/50) with vinegar. The clean cycle on your washer is for maintenance. It isnt designed to eradicate a major problem. It took awhile for the machine to get in such bad shape and it will take time to fix it.

The washer goes unbalanced since I bought it new. Ive called LG MULTIPLE TI
The washer goes unbalanced since I bought it new. Ive called LG MULTIPLE TIMES and they have done nothing about it. They finally want to send out a repairman but per my research I have found out that the repairman will change my computer board and slow down the spin on my machine leaving my clothes wet still. This is not what I paid $700 for, its deceptive trade practice. Ive called Sears and LG both and neither is gonna stand behind their product. LG customer service is horrible and if you comment with a negative comment on their facebook page they will just remove it. If LG was a honest company they would leave THE NEGATIVE COMMENTS UNTIL THEY RESOLVE THE ISSUE.
