It is a good refrigerator for the price, but it is not big enough for our family. It does get very cold in the refrigerator part unlike our last refrigerator. I only wish it had more shelf space on the door and the egg place fit more than 6 eggs.

We have a Whirlpool Quiet Wash Plus dishwasher thats been doing a great job cleaning our dishes for just shy of 24 years. We use a cleaner every 2-3 months to keep everything cleaned out and sanitized. We use a liquid detergent and a rinse aid and the dishes come out clean every time. We feel like weve been blessed with this machine and would definitely buy Whirlpool again.

I purchased a Whirlpool 3-door refrigerator with the freezer on the bottom
I purchased a Whirlpool 3-door refrigerator with the freezer on the bottom on 8/17/12. Within 4 days, the ice maker stopped working. It took two days for the repairman to come out and fix it. So all is well with that. Less than 2 weeks later, the refrigerator isnt cooling. Several days later, the repairman came and determined it was the evaporator fan motor and clutch. The parts were back-ordered for 10 days. Parts came in 2 more days before he can come out and install them. He realized they sent the wrong parts. Another week went by, then he came and replaced the fan motor, which is now making an ear-piercing buzzing sound. He came back a week later and said it needed a gasket, which is back-ordered. In the meantime, he put some stick on insulation around the unit. Not much help. Another week went by, and the gasket showed up. It is still making a high-pitched whining sound. He said it was the compressor. Whatever! I hate the refrigerator. The sound is one that just grates on your nerves and you can hear it in all the rooms surrounding the kitchen! A repairman has to deem it unrepairable before they will even consider replacing it. They consider it fixed. What about my bleeding ears! I just want it gone! I am so disappointed. I thought Whirlpool was a good product with a solid reputation. I have a $2300 noise maker! Is there a class action lawsuit?!

I do like my Whirlpool refrigerator, but it started to not cool things anymore. I had to get it fixed. The professional I had come out to fix it said that these particular Whirlpool models didnt have a specific part they they needed. It also got built up with ice that needed to be broken down. Overall, I wouldnt buy this model again, but that doesnt mean that all Whirlpool refrigerators are bad. Just this particular model.

My husband and I purchased this washer in August of 2011. Within 2 years the lid broke because of it a cheap plastic frame on a heavy glass lid. At that time I researched it and found many people with the same complaint. Whirlpool would not do anything for us but the company that we purchased it from did agree to supply the part if we paid the labor. We did this and replaced the lid. Well here it is just right at 2 years again and the lid is completely broken and the washer is unusable. There is no way to bypass the lid issue which makes the washer completely useless.I called Whirlpool again and was told there was nothing that could be done and that because there was not a recall on the product, they would not be able to do anything for me. We have purchased a new Samsung washer that received excellent reviews from Consumer reports and we will NEVER buy another Whirlpool product again. I cannot believe a company that old and as large as Whirlpool will not stand behind a faulty design and faulty made piece of equipment. It is very disappointing.

I have a refrigerator model WRT359SFYM00 that is 4 months old. It suddenly just stopped getting cold. Trying to contact Whirlpool warranty/service department has been a nightmare. Once I did get them they spent almost a week trying to locate someone in my area to service it. I was in constant contact with the phone support person, but they kept telling me its out of my hands a special unit was making calls to find a repair person. After almost a week they informed me they could not find anyone but if I could find someone to service it they would reimburse me (max $250 labor). I spent 5 minutes and 1 phone call and I found someone. They wasted a week bumbling around with wanton disregard for their customer. Their service after the sale is deplorable. They are staffed by people who answer calls but have no ability or authority to fix a problem. Worse yet, they kept telling me it was out of their hands. If not in their hands, then whose? I assure you I will never buy another Whirlpool appliance simply based on this warranty experience. What a horrible way to treat your customers. Shame on Whirlpool!

Whirlpool Platinum Cabrio Washer wtw8240 - Ive owned this washer for two years. Worst two years of my life. Its leaked since day one. They have attempted to repair the leaking on 5 different repair visits (told me the nozzle that puts the water in the tub doesnt stop in time and it overflows on my floor). Finally it seemed to be somewhat fixed and then it started to sound like a freight train coming through my house. They determined the bearings were worn on my tub and had to replace the whole tub unit. Seven visits. I got one month out of it and it’s leaking again. I am now out of the extended warranty I purchased. This is ridiculous. Isnt there a lemon law on appliances? I know if a dealer attempts 4 or more repairs on your car for the same problem unsuccessfully, it qualifies for the lemon law. $800 for a washing machine that dumps water all over my floor and no one can seem to fix it. Well Im done, Whirlpool. Next time I will purchase a plain washer with no bells or whistles and it wont be made by Whirlpool!

We purchased this washer (Whirlpool Cabrio) about two months ago and we have been extremely dissatisfied with its performance. Quite simply, it does not get clothes or anything else clean! I have tried every possible setting and still the dirt remains on anything that is even slightly soiled. So, I cant believe that things that dont look dirty are getting cleaned either. They probably arent even getting rinsed, even with the extra rinse option. It seems almost nobody likes this machine, so why is Whirlpool risking their formerly sterling company reputation by keeping it on the market? I would be happy if I could return it to the store for a refund, but that is not a possibility as far as I can tell. If you are considering buying this machine - dont!

I purchased a 50 gallon Whirlpool water heater, model FG1J5040T3, in November, 2005, and have had the same experience as reported by the hundreds of others, whose comments I have been reading. Basically, pilot wont stay lit. I called Whirlpool, relight the heater, when it doesnt relight, wait to receive repair parts, call a plumber, and pay to have them install it, then repeat same problems. Each time going for a week or so, without hot water. After relighting the heater 10 times in the past year, and service calls, Whirlpool authorized me yesterday to return it to Lowes, and get a replacement. I need to hire a plumber to unhook it, haul it to Lowes, get the new one, and install it. It cost me about $300 to $400. Will the replacement be any better? I am considering just replacing the heater with one made by Rheem.

Whirlpool Cabrio - I have had the same experience as those others that have written reviews - over $1,600.00 (on sale) - approximately 3 years old and I was just informed by a service repairman that water has leaked from the center of the tub into the motor and it is trashed. I went to the Whirlpool website to chat with a representative and they are sorry but unfortunately, we cannot guarantee there will be no repairs or parts replacements needed as components do deteriorate or fail on occasion due to factors over which we have no control - they went on to say that since the washer is approximately 3 years old there would be no assistance that we would be able to provide toward repairs. I agree that a class action suit should be considered since Whirlpool is taking no responsibility for a machine that costs too much - makes your clothes smell and lasts for such a short time. Highway robbery!! The dryer is no better but at least it is still working (today anyway!).

We hate the matching Cabrio washer dryer bought in 2011: Dryer lower blower went out after 18 months in service. The day it went out whirlpool sent me the extended warranty offer. Warranty had expired 6 months prior. I renewed for 12 months and promptly called for a repair. Cost was approximately $450.00, all covered under the newly paid for warranty. I dodged a bullet there. Washer has the splintering fiberglass around the top. Lower bearing is out and sounds like a freight train coming out of the laundry room. Not going to have it repaired. Looking for new units not manufactured by whirlpool. Shameful ROI. No more whirlpool products in our house.

Whirlpool Gold Series Dishwasher - I wish I had discovered this website BEF
Whirlpool Gold Series Dishwasher - I wish I had discovered this website BEFORE I bought this piece of trash last year to replace our antique Maytag that ran like a champ for 10 years. But after 10 year the gaskets wore out and it started leaking. Even at ten years old that Maytag cleaned and dried better than this brand new Whirlpool. My complaints are the same as everybody else here. Doesnt clean even slightly soiled dishes and then it doesnt dry any of the silverware, or plastic pieces like measuring cups and tupperware. All are totally wet and need to be hand dried. So, why am I cleaning the dishes beforehand and drying them after??? The only good thing I can say about this unit, is that it is quiet. But, as my husband said, so is a brick, and a brick would be just about as good at washing and drying our dishes. Buyers Beware!!! This is a terrible product. Turned me against Whirlpool appliances forever.

I got the Cabrio Washer and Dryer set in December of 2015. By March of 2016, the heating element and dryer door latch had broken. Had to have those repaired. By June of 2016 and since, Ive had several repairman out to the house trying to figure out whats wrong with my washer. 9 times out of 10, it will not spin the excess water out and the clothes are soaked. Sometimes it takes me an hour to get the washer to go through a spin cycle. Sometimes the washer wont go into a cycle at all, it just makes a horrible noise (like its draining) and never does anything. It doesnt put out enough water in larger loads, so Ive had to cut my load size in half. It wont work on half the cycle options on the screen, only working on bulky or heavy. Wont wash on normal or quick wash or any of the others. It will make that same horrible sound and do nothing. Nobody can tell me whats wrong with the stupid washer and the repairman said he sees issues with Whirlpool all the time. He said save myself money and buy something else. But I remember a time when a washer and dryer would last for 20 years. What happened to quality products and craftsmanship. I am so tired of the new and fancy appliances that dont last and these companies that dont stand behind their products. Whirlpool you should be ashamed. I will never buy another one of your products. There should be a recall on these particular Cabrio units especially after all the horrible reviews I just read.

I have had the Whirlpool washer for almost a year. It has multiple settings for different types of laundry, i.e. towels, bedding/bulky, colors. It is intuitive. My husband is able to put laundry in and is able to figure out which cycle to use. The tub is roomy and holds large items well. The dryer I just purchased in the last month or so. It matches my washer and so far I love it. It has very similar settings that match the washer. The lint filter is very effective, cleaning after each load is highly recommended. It dries quickly and is quiet.

We have had every issue with our Cabrio model 6600 SB2 that Kimber of Salem, VA has had. Thankfully, we purchased an extended warranty at time of purchase(1-31-07) from Lowes or repair costs would have totaled more that the price of the washer, which was $900.00.It is now making a loud noise during spin cycle that sounds like a bearing going out. It is 1 month from being out of the 4 year extended warranty and today, 12-26-11, the repairman has told me that the washer needs to be rebuilt. The washer itself, does not clean that well and the clothes are so wrinkled when they come out, that the dryer cannot get the wrinkles out, so everything needs to be ironed. What a pain!We bought this washer because Consumer Reports magazine listed it as a best buy. This is not the first recommendation Ive chosen because of their magazine that I was disappointed with. I have lost faith in them. I would not recommend this washer to anyone. The matching dryer, however, has been trouble free.

I originally purchased a Whirlpool hot water heater in 2005. After numerous problems Whirlpool agreed to replace January 2010. I am excited that I found this site, putting it in Favorites! Using the advice from ConsumerReports, we purchased a Whirlpool Gold French door refrigerator model GI 6SDRXXY02. We were looking forward to the energy efficiency reported. I blamed the kids and my husband when the water started appearing on the floor by the refrigerator. After a while, I started investigating and I saw the sheets of ice that had formed in the bottom of the freezer. Several times, I removed the ice, only for it to form and start leaking on the floor weeks later. We discovered the drain was frozen and that during the defrost mode, water would freeze in the bottom, and once the ice was too high, the water would flow over the ice onto the floor. My husband has unloaded the freezer and defrosted the drain with a hair dryer several times. So sick of this!! We never received a recall notice and of course, the warranty is out. I wish we hadnt paid so much for this refrigerator. It would have been out by the curb months ago. We are in the middle of a kitchen remodel and getting new cabinets. I will have to dispose of this expensive refrigerator. UGH, money down the drain!! We wont buy a Whirlpool!!!

I had my Whirlpool Gold refrigerator for two years. I observed water puddling out of the bottom of the freezer about every three days. I called Whirlpool to find out if there was a recall on my problem. There was none although refrigerator repair companies said there should be as Whirlpool has a defective part. That part is the drain for the freezer as it clogs up and does not allow water to drain and then refreezes. When the freezer automatically defrosts, some ice melts and as a result the water comes out of the bottom and puddles on the floor in front of the refrigerator. I recommend that people do not buy Whirlpool refrigerators unless you are willing to pay over $200 to replace the end of the drain line in about two years.

I purchased this water heater (Model# E2F40RD045V, Serial# 1122T461615, Product# 0826354) 1 week ago (Oct. 17, 20011) and it has been installed only after 5 days (Oct 25, 2011). It has yet to heat the water more than warm. I called Lowes (Oct. 21, 2011) and tried to return it only to be told that I would have to get an authorization number from Whirlpool. I called and Whirlpool wanted me to trouble shoot the problem. I had to have an OHM meter and amp meter to do so, which means that I needed to have an electrician present to do these test because I dont own any of these things. I was then told that they could send someone to my house, but I may end up paying for this. I then asked to speak to a supervisor and was told that she would tell me the same thing. The call ended when I told them that I guess I would have to do the best I could because I was not getting any help from them. Out of desperation, I went back to Lowes and got a new heating element to try to fix this problem myself. I installed it and it still did not work. I called back the next day and still did not get any help, I was only told that I needed to have these meters on hand to trouble shoot the problem. Why is it that I have to do this? The lady did not seem to care that I did not have any way to handle this problem. I felt that this problem was my burden and not Whirlpools for putting out a defective product. I have in my home about 5 new Whirlpool major appliances and have been a loyal customer for many years but after this incident, never again. I will also be advising my friends how Whirlpool has treated me. I am very disappointed with your customer service or should I say lack of customer service. I was told that had I said that the water heater was leaking, I would have been given an authorization number immediately! I still do not have any hot water as I sit here typing this complaint. I am sure that Whirlpool is really concerned as you have my phone number and address and your representatives are aware that I am very upset but still no one has even tried to help me other than telling me that I have to trouble shoot the problem. As far as your rating go with me you get an F!

We did not have any manuals how to setup and use. After we called the customer service they send us the operating manual. We encounter several other problems with this unit and the most recent one to our surprise the warning light to change the water filter was on. We hardly using the water from the fridge because of the having monthly spring water delivery service. We called customer service and after explanation of our concern and following their instruction the light was on. We were going to buy LG but bought this to give business to an American company. Now our patriotism is bearing fruit. Customer care blames AIG (service contractor) and Whirlpool say that they can’t manage AIG. At the end of our rope with constant trips to laundromats. Have no idea if it will ever be fixed. So frustrating to see the name of Whirlpool tarnished to this extent. Nobody seems to be in charge and everybody passes the buck. Whirlpool is a shameful example of a company that deserves to go out of business.

I purchased my Whirlpool Duet washer about 14 months ago. After about 8 months, I noticed that it had started leaking. It was under warranty and the seal was replaced no problem. I then started to notice that my clothes were getting small tears in them. Around January (13 months after purchase), I got tired of finding new clothes and jackets with rips and tears in them. I finally found that the plastic piece around the entrance to the washer was rough and jagged. I called Whirlpool and they told me they could send out a service tech to file down the jagged edges. They told me this was a common problem caused by the zippers on jackets hitting the plastic and causing it to become rough. Because it was one month out of warranty, I would have to pay for the service call. The lady told me I could try filing it down myself. I feel like I should not have to file down anything 14 months after purchasing a new washer. I feel like I should not have to worry that my clothes are ruined every time I wash them. If this is a common problem as the lady told me, it appears to me to be a design flaw and should have a recall. I have lost several outfits and jackets due to this machine and I am very frustrated that Whirlpool would not stand behind their product.

Im 61 so I have some experience. I personally know fridges that have lasted over 20 years. I just Googled it and found out the norm is 14 to 17 years. This hunk of crap lasted 4 years. As soon as I got it home and plugged it in (4 yrs ago) the most noticeable thing was the noise. It sounded like a tractor! I considered taking it back (wish I did). Then after a couple of years the pull handle came off! The whole time we had to be careful the door was closing properly. It was problematic. Ive owned (and re-sold) about a dozen fridges in my life. This the first one to fail on me. It was bad from day one!

I hope the CEO posts this on a giant screen in front of all their employees. The first thing I did after moving into our new home is brag about the American made Whirlpool appliances. Being from the Midwest I take pride in made in the USA product and go out of my way to support homegrown companies. I know that a number of the components in my fridge include the fan that failed after 11 month were most likely sourced and manufactured in China... but that no excuse!! Whirlpool needs to do a better job of QC. You need to be passionate and rigorous with your testing. Dont reduce cost at the cost of your customer base. It is amazing were to the point where we can no longer compete with China in quality.Second is customer service, if you know you cant compete in quality you need to be able to make up for that with customer support. I called Whirlpool and scheduled an appointment the day the fridge quit working. I was upset that it would take three days to have a working fridge but I was understanding. Lucky for me I had an understanding neighbor too. Anyways, when the day came for my scheduled warranty repair I was told that Whirlpool was mistaken and that I wouldnt be able to get it serviced for another week! This is just unacceptable.Right away I called the Whirlpool customer service representative and manager to express my frustration with this error. They were polite and both agreed with my frustration. It also sounded as if they also didnt understand why their own company was doing such a poor job addressing repair issues. They made it sound like this was a common problem of people getting overbook at repair service providers. Again another fumble. Bottom line, due to my position, I dont really have a choice but to wait another week for a repair. Take note: Every time you lose a customer like me this you lose 10! I will now go out of my way to tell people about my negative experience rather than my positive. So disappointed.

I have a Whirlpool Duet Steam Washer that will be two years old in September 2013. It has been making terrible, loud noises during the spin cycle for a few months now. Repair tech told me it was the bearings and very costly. It will cost me over half of the original cost to repair a less than two year old washer. This is my second Duet front loader from Whirlpool. The first one was a drum issue and the rod ended up snapping. Again, very costly so I bought a new one. I should have learned my lesson the first time. I do not agree with extended warranties and it is just an additional money maker for the manufacturer. They should be making the product so people do not have to purchase those. Anyway, back to the washer at hand. I refuse to spend that much on a newer washer and will never purchase a Whirlpool product again. I will let this thing bang for as long as it is going to last. Unfortunately have also just purchased the dryer that matches this washer since I still had the old model Duet Dryer, so kind of stuck with them. Spent an hour and a half yesterday on the phone talking to people at Whirlpool and they really dont care if you have an issue or not no matter how old your machine is. They just want you to have purchased the extended warranty or forget it. There should be a recall and they should be helping these customers who all seem to be having the same issue. Done with them!!

I purchased a brand new Whirlpool washing machine only 2 yrs ago. Rather than lasting upward of 10 yrs with normal use as advertised, the machine is nothing more than a giant wash tub. It doesnt Drain and Spin properly. The clothes are still wet at the end of the cycle and I have to either attempt to wring all items by hand or set the machine to Drain and Spin for a second time. Now, it no longer agitates the clothes during either the wash or the rinse. I am SO disappointed in this and very angry that I trusted this well known brand with my hard-earned money. I am also angry at myself for not reviewing internet posts as I am hearing the exact same experiences by others time and again.

Our Whirlpool Duet Washer started sounding like a jet engine 13 months after purchase. We spent $800 on a washer and it started to get very loud during spin cycle. After reading several reviews online with other people describing the same problem, figured it was the bearings. $800 to do my laundry for 13 months kind of crazy right. It would have cost almost $300 for the extended warranty through Whirlpool. In order to have it repaired, the cost would be around $600 because the drum and bearings need to be replaced at this point. Whirlpool’s customer service was no help and pretended they had never heard of this problem. However, reading reviews online tells me otherwise. I can buy a new Samsung on sale for $623, so that is the route we will probably take. We feel extremely cheated by what was once a well-known, reputable company. We will not buy Whirlpool/Maytag again until they put more emphasis on quality products with a cost efficient, longer duration warranty plan.

Regarding a Whirlpool Refrigerator (model ET8CHMXKQ04) purchased in 05. I dont remember exactly when the problem began but the freezer starts its defrost cycle, water drips down through the refrigerator compartment (soaking all paper/cardboard covered products), collects under the crisper trays and eventually spills out onto the floor. Its a river of water that requires a towel to collect.I believe whats missing is some sort of collection funnel and tube that catches this dripping water and delivers it to the evaporation tray behind the base cover plate under the refrigerator. Obviously, Whirlpool has no quality control nor does it do any field tests to ensure their products are designed and operate properly.

I bought my first Cabrio set in 2008 to replace Maytags that lasted forever but looked their age on the outside. No problem with cleaning and drying, just wanted something new. What a mistake! I looked in Consumer Report Guide to pick and found the Cabrio set. Had problems after the first 4 months - UL uneven load codes flashing up, and had to replace suspensions and bearings, boards, etc. Unfortunately within that 4 months I bought another Cabrio set to put in my vacation home. Started with the same issues and really hard to get a service technician to come out because of where we were located. Customer service with Whirlpool sucks as well as Sears service. It is AMAZING to me that Whirlpool will NOT stand behind this product. I am writing this as I see an F1 code flashing on my washer here at my second home. I have a load of towels in it and house guests arriving in the morning! I will be trashing this washer and dryer and finding something old school and reliable. I want no bells and whistles, just clean and dry clothes. Whirlpool, you should be ashamed.

40-gal gas water heater - I own several rental properties and unfortunately put Whirlpool water heaters in them when the old ones go. It is because they are at Lowes and they are cheap. Today, another call came in from a tenant with no hot water. I called customer service and they determined I received the repair kit from an original design defect from back in the middle 2000s. Now 3 years later, it goes out again. Because I have already received the conversion kit taking thermal couple threading from LH to RH, I needed another part number to repair for a grand total of $160! The same part before the conversion kit was $60. I will never buy another Lowes/Whirlpool water heater for as long as I live. I own a hundred rentals and Whirlpool will never again see another cent for the junk water heaters.

Ordered this two days after my son came home from college. He had to be out of his apartment July 31 2016 and brought 4 years worth of laundry with him. Monday my machine breaks, Tuesday I order this thing from Lowes Arrives at 2:30 on Thursday and as it is being installed I ask why the water fill is so slow. It is trickling out like a childs toy. Delivery man tells me the water is completely turned on. He hears this remark a lot from people who buy this model. I put in my first load of laundry, a small load of about 6 things that I am washing for my mother who is in a nursing home. They have that nursing home smell. I push pause as the machine is cleaning to unlock the lid and peek inside. Oh my God the clothes are sitting on top of each other not even covered in water. I then shut the lid and listen to the tiny slush of the machine agitating. At the end of the cycle they smell exactly the same. Dirty.I had read to use the deep fill so I rewash them on deep fill. Look inside halfway through and what do I see? Wet clothes piled on top of each other, still not floating in water. How are these clothes getting clean when they are in a wet pile on the bottom of the machine? I take them out. Still not clean. Not smelling quite as bad, but not smelling like soap. I then washed sheets, a blanket, and some clothing of my sons. Nothing smelled particularly dirty but NOTHING smelled like soap. The quilt was covered in hairs (my son and roommates had a dog) and soap residue. I had read this in reviews online also. I am wasting time since each load takes from 50 to 130 minutes (yes). I am wasting soap, oh but I am saving water - not really.Well Lowes has a 30 day return policy so I went down there and am expecting a GE machine with an agitator tomorrow, Saturday! Cant wait. The only one saving money are these manufacturers They no longer are spending cash on producing the agitator out of plastic, attaching it with nuts and bolts, or using gaskets between the parts. DO NOT BUY THIS PIECE OF JUNK, do not even look at it. I question all the HE machines at this point. You need to use HE soap cause you cant wash away suds in a machine with no water. What a con - the whole thing is.

I am very upset about this Washing Machine and Dryer. I did my research in 2012 and found good reviews on drum size, water usage, bells and whistles. I purchased the set in Feb of 2013 (its on Jan of 2017). NOT EVEN 3 years later, I write to say that my washing Machine is ready for replacement! I paid 989.00 for each and last year the Spring on the Glass Top was worn away, I am told because bleach was splashing up in the spring area. Cost to fix with a local repairman... $235.00. Now I noticed a small amount of water on the floor, move the washer and there is a LARGE amount of water Stain and my cycles keep popping up UL. Two separate repairmen (because I didnt believe my trusted first one) tell me the cost for the shot bearings and seals will cost almost as much as a new washer! I am a family of 3. I have a daycare so do a few extra loads, but am not using this any more than average to low use. Not to mention that on top of all of this the computer appears to be shorting out and to order a new panel the repairman places that at an EXTRA 300.00. SO UPSET! The dryer dries very nicely and is quiet however, the motor went out 6 months ago and we replaced that, not wanting to but better fix than scrapping it only 3 years into a product expected to last well over 10! The little clip on the door to lock it is also loose and hardly locks now. The repairman is having trouble even finding the small part. Young Couple Expecting to have a brand new 1900.00 washer dryer set last a long time only to be out of warranty and already needing to buy a new set! DONT EVER BUY A CABRIO WHIRLPOOL.

I live in an open concept condo and this fridge sounds like a train for more than an hour more than 5 times a day, it is terrible. I have been calling customer support for a solution and first of all, there are no technicians in my area, and since the fridge works as designed there is nothing to fix so Im stuck with a terrible noisy fridge that I hate and destroys my day which I paid a lot of money for thinking that the brand meant quality but it doesnt. Customer support doesnt respect the customer and their answer that the first works as designed makes me understand that Whirpool designs bad quality fridges. I have never heard a fridge making these noises, not even brands that are less named than Whirlpool. For your inner peace, I recommend you to stay away from Whirlpool-Maytag fridges... If the fridge is in bad condition (but working) youre going to be stuck with it. The brand doesnt really mean quality and support... it just means more expensive.

The time came and the customer service now tells us that the breakdown happened the same month we purchased the warranty so we would have to pay ourselves to have it fixed. We went ahead and paid for the repair.A few mos after the ice maker stopped again and the bottom freezer would not freeze anything. Our food spoiled etc. We called Whirlpool now that the warranty was now ok. We had to wait for an appointment with the company of their choice. The repairman came and stated that the part had to be ordered before we can get ice and freezer working. Waited almost 2 weeks for that. Repair done and soon after, like 4 days later we still didnt have ice. Called again, another company was sent... all over again we waited for 2 parts.. He assured us that we should be good. 2 mos now were getting half capacity ice and freezer doesnt freeze everything. Ice cream is a no no.So much money (2500 dollars) paid for that piece of junk. The repairman told us “forget about replacement, the company will send a repairman once a month if they have to“. Its frustrating and some days I wish I could just put it on the sidewalk for the garbage truck. I cant afford to go out and buy a new one (of course it would not be Whirlpool). In the meantime this company Whirlpool is making all this money from selling these junk. I am mad like hell and tell everyone to stay away from Whirlpool. I wish Id purchased a Samsung instead. I could climb the top of a mountain and shout: Dont buy Whirlpool.

I purchased a Whirlpool dishwasher from Home Depot on 2/5/2015. It was delivered damaged on 2/9/2015. Home Depot refused to take it back and Whirlpool sent a tech out to see the damage. I told them I did not want a refurbished dishwasher that I paid almost $1000 for. Whirlpool advised Home Depot that the machine can be repaired. Once again I told both whirlpool and Home Depot that I did not want this dishwasher and to pick it up. Home Depot stated that there would be a 15 percent restocking fee along with a $65 to pick up the washer. Why should we have to pay anything? I am so disgusted for the treatment I received.

My Whirlpool dishwasher is 11 years old and has performed satisfactorily throughout. The utensil container is in the door, saving room inside but making it a bit less convenient to remove. The results are satisfactory, but I carefully rinse everything before putting it in the dishwasher. I dont believe dishes with hardened food would come out clean without this step.

We bought Whirlpool duet front loading washer and matching dryer. In 3 years the water level seemed like it was off. Clothes, especially towels were coming out stinky. Eventually you could hear the clothes were merely flopping around wet. Before we could order the repair part it completely quit and locked our clothes into it. I washed my clothes at my daughters house for a week and dried them at home. Within the week the dryer quit. Not having the money to repair both machines, my son gifted me a set of top loading washer/dryer. Again Whirlpool. In a week we had repair service out. They replaced everything possible and it still didnt work right. Since the 90 days from purchase was approaching we returned it to the store and they had Whirlpool send us a brand new dryer. This one worked for a month then stopped spinning. I havent called for service yet because now with 3 broken machines I am so disgusted. When I think about them I feel like I am going to puke. My washing machine shouldnt be the worst thing in my life, especially since it was a lovely gift from a wonderful son.

I have had my washer dryer set for only 3 years and have all the problems that have already been posted. Whirlpool has no recall on this washer (Cabrio) and does not plan on helping out anybody in any way. Their solution is pay for everything out of pocket or buy their one year warranty for ironically the price of what a new motor, and any of the other common items that are breaking would cost. And this is only good for ONE year. With the history of this company I would expect this to last at least ten years or longer before we start discussing replacing anything. I also had a Maytag that I had a problem with and did not get anywhere with that either. Whirlpool/Maytag, you need to stand behind your product. Your name is not going to get you anywhere nowadays. This blog has a spot about legal representation. If you can help me, please contact me.

My family purchased a newly built home from a reputable homebuilder on December 21st 2019. On the first week of January 2020, we noticed that our upgraded Whirlpool dishwasher, model #WDT730PAHZ0 was shutting off mid cycle, resulting in dishes remaining dirty. The technician gave us an estimate of nearly $500 for replacement of pump motor assembly. He also informed us that this particular model is well known for having this defect. We are requesting that Whirlpool stand behind their reputation for producing reliable high quality products by replacing our dishwasher.

I will make this short. If there was a part that could break on my Whirlpool fridge, it broke. Whirlpools 3rd party repair company (Flamingo Appliance Services, who are awful themselves) was at my home countless times. This last time, they were replacing the same malfunctioning part for the THIRD TIME. The Flamingo technician (Nicholas) insured me that the issues were not related, despite the same exact part being replaced 3 times. I told him that I believed that was a dishonest statement, and he left the fridge un-repaired. Now Whirlpool nor Flamingo will help, and I am stuck with a non-functional fridge, and small children at home. Whirlpool and Flamingo represent everything I despise, have zero integrity, and are a reading on the barometer of where our country is headed.

We purchased a high end KitchenAid Refrigerator Dec 2018. Rust developed on
We purchased a high end KitchenAid Refrigerator Dec 2018. Rust developed on water dispenser door in less than year. They would not honor warranty. Since March we have had ongoing cooling problems with 5 service calls and 4 different fixes and unit still doesnt work. Local authorized service company, Fields, in Jacksonville FL is incompetent. Whirlpool doesnt return calls. The products value is not consistent with the high cost. Here are the gory details. Ref: Setzers, Jacksonville FL (sold unit). Fields Jacksonville FL (factory authorized service company).Less than 1 year in, it began to rust. We called for a Warranty check. Fields Appliance (their factory authorized service company) came out and agreed all 5 doors needed to be replaced. A month rocked on, finally we called to find out where the doors were, and were told Whirlpool (Makers of Kitchenaid) denied the claim. Citing that we lived near the coast! Well, our other appliances arent rusting and the refrigerator doesnt sit outside! They sent us a 6 oz bottle of rust cleaner. A few months later, this refrigerator stops cooling! This was in March, 3 months out of 1 yr warranty. The refrigerant system is warranted for 5 yrs. This was also right at the beginning of Covid 19 shutdown. Fields could not give us a appointment, due to shutdowns. So, I called a local company to fix it out of pocket. He discovered a leak in the coolant lines, fixed the leak and replaced the coolant ($453.61 on 4/9/20). Great, it works! About 3 weeks later, it stops cooling again. Called local service repairman out once more to see whats going on. He replaces a thermal bi metal sensor and well ahh! It works again ($100 on 4/28/2020).About 3 weeks after that, it stops working again! We are thinking by now, its a problem for Setzers, Whirlpool, and Fields. We call the local service repairman out to confirm and he states that the evaporator fan motor will need to be replaced, and that part replaces all sensors as well ($59.99 5/28/2020 service call). We call Setzers and schedule an appointment with Fields. First appointment we could get was 6/16/2020. Guy comes out, and cited a factory defect, per a technical bulletin he had, and relocated a sensor. Simple as that, he assured us it was fixed! Even though I pointed out it felt no cooler when he packed his things to leave. It did nothing! In the background Setzers (when they would call back) were supposedly working with Whirlpool to help fix the problem! Whirlpools reply was that since our repairman was not factory authorized, it completely voided our warranty! Explaining we had no choice, since Fields wouldnt come out and by now we are without a working refrigerator for 3 months, they could care less! Feeling totally frustrated, we call Fields again! On 6/19/2020, they send out another repairman. This guy came in, opened up the back, and immediately stated the refrigerant was overfilled. Didnt do any diagnostics, just told us that we were **, and walked away, without even putting the refrigerator back in place! Neither Fields rep hooked up a diagnostic tool to confirm any real issue, I guess they just knew! Total incompetence! So... As of now we have paid the local repairman ($448.33 on 6/26/2020) to order the evaporation fan motor and install it this coming Monday (7/20/2020). Total amount out of pocket at this point, $1053.90. It took that long to get here! Wish us luck! Setzers wiped their hands clean of the issue and told us to call Whirlpool. We did have not ever received callback.

I have read most of the reviews and it seems like I have ALL those problems with my Whirlpool Cabrio, but I also need to add that there is rust around the bleach dispenser and I DONT use bleach. The inside is also rusted, but its not visible until you take a good look inside because its under the white paint but its all around the inside. I purchased this machine about a year ago and it is the biggest piece of garbage on the planet. The biggest problem is that it will not spin if the load is even slightly unbalanced. It does not clean the clothes. If you try to rebalance and spin the load, it adds more water and then gets stuck in a cycle where it drains and adds water forever. Do not buy one of these. Whirlpool refrigerator - I purchased $6950.93 in Whirlpool products in one day last year at HH GREGG in Lexington, Ky. The refrigerator was purchased on that day September 18, 2012 and my kitchen wasnt going to be ready until December, but I wanted all items bought for measurements (specs) for the new kitchen designer. HH GREGG delivered to my garage October 26, 2012 because they couldnt hold any longer, but when we purchased that day they promised to hold till December when my kitchen would be finished. I have Proof from the kitchen installers the day they finished, December 28, 2012, was the day the appliances were installed. Well here I sit typing this letter on January 7, 2014 and my Whirlpool refrigerator is as of right now is in need of a compressor while losing approx $1000.00 in purchased food. In other words, approximately $900.00 in repair cost. Isnt Whirlpool a large enough company to stand behind its products when I paid $2599.00 for this refrigerator for at least one year from installation instead of purchase date? My fiancee has been trying to work out a solution with Whirlpool and the parts are on back order now. For at least two weeks we have been without a refrigerator and have two young children. Doesnt it show that the parts being on back order from Whirlpool, barely being a year old prove the defective product is being sold to the public daily? I plan on going further with this action due to the name Whirlpool all over my kitchen which disgusts me. Im going to write every columnist I can and do all I can with what little resources I have against this large company if no one helps us. This is absolutely an injustice against consumers...

We purchased our brand new home ten years ago and we were thrilled it had a double wall oven unit that I had always dreamed of owning. Well, the first time I used the self-cleaning mode that dream became a nightmare! The oven was in cleaning mode and I was so happy as I had never had a self-cleaner before! When the cleaning was done, the door remained locked and the control panel was not working. After making sure it was cooled the next day, I called for warranty repair. They came out and fixed it and apologized for the inconvenience. I was thinking it was just a glitch and went on with life. Due to my husband’s business, we only live in the house part time as we do extensive traveling. My children are grown, so my cooking is mainly holidays and birthdays when we all get together. Since it is used so seldom, the need to clean is not as often as others might be. The next two times I cleaned it the same thing happened. The third time they came out they informed me that it was getting too hot in the cleaning mode and the steam was going into the computer panel and melting the electrical wire. They also said I would no longer be under warranty and from now on it would be my issue. The next two times I cleaned the oven, I did so the old fashioned way and skipped the self-cleaning. This week my oven started beeping and giving me a code and will not work. I called my trusted repair man and this is what I learned. The computer board is probably toasted. They no longer make the board, so he will have to send it out to be rebuilt. This will take 10 to 14 days and the cost will be somewhere in the neighborhood of $650.00! Are you kidding me?! How is this my issue? I have checked faithfully every few months, assuming that others are having the same issues, and that Whirlpool would be doing the right thing and recalling these ovens. Stupid me! This last time I had not even used the oven in three days and it still went out? I am old enough to remember when the first place you went to look for appliances was Whirlpool because they were good, they lasted and the company stood behind them. Oh, how the mighty have fallen. From now on they will be the last place I look! I’m not sure what is going to happen, but I can assure you I am not spending $650 to repair this piece of crap!

I purchased a Cabrio Washer and Dryer set last October from Sears. The washer had a damaged washer basket and then stopped working altogether. The service call to get the washer working again was a fiasco. The tech replaced a switch which failed in the first 5 minutes and had to be called back to replace that defective switch. We now have the same problem all over again and we are on our third service call and the warranty is expired. Whirlpool is useless and will probably be out of business if they continue as the middle man for Chinese manufactured garbage. I will never purchase another Whirlpool product again. I bought the Whirlpool WTW 5000DW1 washer and dryer to go with it. Within the first 2 weeks the plastic handle broke on the dryer. Ive been using the corner of the plastic handle ever since to open the dryer. The washer is the worst washer I have ever purchased in my life. The tub doesnt fill up over the clothes half the time. It is perfectly balanced on the floor but it always bounces around and you cannot open it to rearrange the clothes because they lock the lid. The only option is to try to hold it and wait for it to finish or start over by pressing the button for at least 3 seconds. I have had a few items get shredded by it and a lot of times the clothes dont get cleaned and rinsed properly. Even on 2 rinse option. Just the fact that it has a 2 rinse option is a big red flag. It is supposed to be a energy saver and water saver but that isnt true. If you have to wash and rinse the clothes twice because it has spots from the detergent still on the sheets, something just isnt right. Whirlpool shouldnt even put a product like this on the market. I have owned many Whirlpool products before this but this is the last Whirlpool product I will ever buy. Obviously Whirlpool doesnt test its products or care about quality.

Weve had this microwave (WMH31017AW-2) for 2 1/2 yrs and the door is falling apart. It started with one crack and now the middle glass of the door is falling out! I took the door off so the the glass wouldnt fall on the stove and the plastic around the door literally crumbled apart. So disappointed since that was the same reason we took the other one back that was in this house when we bought it. The microwave is now discontinued and when I did find a door online it costs as much as the microwave! We bought a new Whirlpool counter depth side by side stainless steel refrigerator in January 2012. We have had 7 service calls because things were freezing on the top shelf. They installed a new part and it still froze. They told us to do dumb stuff at Whirlpool like turn the temp up, dont use the top shelf, etc. The money they want for these appliances and you should put a band aid on it to make it function properly? Duh? The final fix was to duct tape the vents to allow less air flow. This appliance should have been recalled. I have since read reviews and it is an ongoing problem. Before buying, do your homework and make sure the other brands are not manufactured by Whirlpool. The Whirlpool hotline for problems is not that service friendly, they have an attitude. I need to replace two more appliances and they will not be Whirlpool. The repair service was great but they are independent companies, not Whirlpool. How do you fix a lemon? Consumers need to be aware of this. Whirlpool would rather spend money on repairs that did not work instead of replacing the appliance. If you want 7 or more repair visits and no results, buy Whirlpool.

I bought a Whirlpool Duet Washer and Dryer in September 2013 and washer is already broken. It leaks out the front of the front loading door (yes, I clean it as advised, including leaving door open to air dry etc). I am a retired senior citizen and my wife and I spend 6 months of the year in Florida so the washer has barely been used since we are barely home and its not like we are trying to wash load after load of heavily soiled items daily. I would not recommend this product at all!! The repair people said it would cost approximately $300 to fix and offered a plan to fix it for $350 with a 1 year warranty. Why should I bother to do either if I will have to do same after 1 year? This machine is barely used and broke?! The customer service people were not helpful and seemed only interested selling me the repair plan to fix what should not need fixing. So, to recap - I bought the machine in 9/13 then went to Florida from 10/13 to 4/14 (so it was used 1 month). Then, it was used from 4/14 until 10/14 (6 months). I returned from Florida this year in April 2015 and it started leaking in June 2015 (2 months). So, my machine has been used for a grand total of 9 months and it is already broken!!! Stay far away. Whirlpool should come and replace this machine for us for free if they care anything about customer service and senior citizens but clearly they do not. In Florida we have an old Sears Kenmore machine that has lasted for over 20 years!!

When we bought our side by side fridge (model GD5RVAXVB02), the manual said to clean the condenser coils if you have excess dust and/or pet hair. We have both. We tried with the vacuum and with a brush but it is impossible to get to the coils because they run side to side instead of front to back. You can only get to the first coil in front. The rest cant be accessed from the front, sides or back. I called to find out how Whirlpool recommended they be cleaned and they could only recommend a vacuum attachment tool (8171579A) to clean the floor below the coils or a coil brush (4210463RW) that cant reach the coils! This design is meant to fail prematurely. They could have easily installed the coils running front to back so they could all be easily cleaned.

The French door fridge with the freezer drawers on the bottom are very flexible and easy to access. It goes downhill from there. The ice maker takes 4 days to fill up the bin with no use. The unit does not defrost and freezes up every six weeks requiring a manual defrost. Three mods have been made under the service contract and performance has not improved. PC boards have been replaced and at least one thermistor. My understanding is this is a single compressor unit with piping, relays and valves to port refrigerant to two different evaporators as needed. Unfortunately it simply does not properly balance/defrost and the freezer door freezes up. It certainly is not compatible with a high humidity environment. We will never buy another cooling design like this, but sure like the French Door layout. Glad we have a service contract.
