Whirlpool - 30in Built-In Electric Induction Cooktop - Black

Purchased 03/28/13. Refrigerator 62 degrees on July 4, 2013. Called for service July 5 - came out July 9 and told unrepairable - wiring harness set against tubing rusted and broke wires. Since July 9, I have been trying to get my replacement from Whirlpool and always told they will call me 24-48 hours - never calls. Asked for supervisor on July 22, then asked for her name and direct number. Supervisor said someone would call me about delivery. Supervisor told me if a local store would have had in stock, they would have sent it out from there (called local store and was told 6 were in stock and could be delivered tomorrow). Tried to call supervisor back to inform her, but number would not go through (apparently bogus number). As of July 22, 2013, still no refrigerator. Very poor customer service/service repair. July 24 - asked if I needed to get an attorney and/or contact local new consumer advocate - Whirlpool said they would issue a refund check for the refrigerator, and that I should receive it in 14-21 business days - said they could not refund on credit card I used to make original purchase. Hopefully, the check will arrive.

After years, the gas hot water heater model fg1f5040t3nov went out. The plumber had me get a new part. 2-3 weeks ago, it went out again. I am trying another new igniter assembly. If it goes again, Im getting a new heater - not a Whirlpool! My plumber says he can get me a new one for a little more than I spent on the Whirlpool, and its much more dependable.

Whirlpool owned or bought out Maytag. My Maytag Washer (purchased a dryer also) was a disaster from day one. The previous set I owned (Maytag) was 20 years old when I decided to replace it. From day one, the washer literally walked across the floor while turned on (Maytag Performa). I had to sit there and virtually hold it down if I wanted to get my wash done. I called and called and they would eventually come out only to tell me that this was a substandard product from Maytag and I had better buy the extended warranty. After only 7 years, the washer completely stopped working and the dryer (Maytag) is falling apart. I purchased new Samsung washer and dryer and I absolutely love them. So you whine all you want about Samsung underselling you. I contacted you several times and all I received was lip service. I will never purchase a Maytag or Whirlpool washer and dryer and I’ll let all of my friends know about your terrible customer service!

Last December our refrigerator began to freeze food - gallons of milk, bowls of food, and produce. I called Whirlpool: Of course the warranty had expired. It was suggested we turn the unit off back on to reset the computer. We did this for 2 or 3 months and eventually it worked properly. We were gone for 12 days, now the icemaker has stopped and all food is frozen. I called - they will send a tech for a minimum of $95. Read how many trips are usually made before a problem is solved. Cheaper and more logical to buy another unit from anyone but Whirlpool.

No, they dont have a record of this happening to this washer before. Even though I called them and got the lids through them two other times!!! But they will be happy to send me a new lid for $260!!! Also love the fact that they dont acknowledge the lid is a problem. Time to find a new washer that isnt Whirlpool!!

Had this model (WMH73521CS-6) installed as part of kitchen remodel. After 8 months, microwave is failing, indicating door needs to be opened, then closed to operate. This does not fix the issue or reset the condition. AND, there is no way to reset the microwave electronics, not even power cycling (unplugging and replugging from/to electrical outlet).

I just replaced a 4 year Cabiro washer with a Samsung. The washer was making terrible loud noise when spinning. It sounded like a jet plane. The repairman said it was a bearing that was going out and that it was a common problem in the Cabiro washers. Cost to repair it would be $500.00. Last week, it finally started spewing oil from underneath so had to buy a new washer. I will never, ever buy anything made by Whirlpool. Whirlpool said it was off the one year warranty (duh) and they wouldnt help with repairs.

Without a doubt, the worst washing machine Ive ever owned. After 15 years, my trusty old Maytag finally quit, so we searched around and ended up purchasing the Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum 3 years ago. In that time, the hinge on the lid broke, and now it makes a deafening noise when spinning. We called a repairman and he said the bearings were bad and needed to be replaced... Total cost $275 plus $50 for fixing the lid. When we told the repairman that it was only 3 years old he couldnt believe it! We decided against fixing it because from the start it never got the clothes as clean as we were used to, and without the agitator post in the middle, which was a big selling point by the salesperson who sold it to us, the washer continually stops with an Uneven Load message. Large load, small load, it doesnt matter. You cant do a load of any size without the load becoming uneven. We are now searching for a new washer, and although I dont know what well buy, I can guarantee it wont be a Whirlpool.

Im disgusted by both Sears and Whirlpool that I have paid top dollar for my Whirlpool Duet Washer model #WFW9400SW01 (along with the matching Whirlpool duet dryer and 15 floor pedestals) at a cost of over $1,000 for the machine, and hundreds of dollars for the Sears master protection service contract. And 5 weeks after first reporting my washer breakdown and lugging my familys laundry to a ‘local’ laundromat located miles away, I still have no imminent hope of seeing a repair. This is the second time the machine has broken down within 5 years. (Dont even ask me about my nightmare with LG dishwashers!) This time the wire harness is the culprit, a part which apparently has been redesigned & which has been on back order indefinitely - all Sears can tell me is it might be available sometime in October. Is it coming from overseas, I ask. No, Delaware, Ive been told. And it could be as long as into November. While they did tell me I could begin to pursue a replacement machine by the 21st day of non-use, I am so weary of the life energy this appliance nightmare is sapping from me simply to resolve this. And Sears and Whirlpool dont seem at all concerned with the massive amounts of junked appliances winding up in our collective landfill as we all tolerate this built-in obsolescence. Besides the obvious wear & tear issue on my wood floors in replacing the machine (the dryer positioned next to it on a pedestal in my cramped powder room/laundry room will also need to be reinstalled in order to get both to fit properly), what about the consummate waste of having these machines reach the end of their life expectancy after a mere 5 years? I wish Id never upgraded our appliances. In the 7 years since we did, our LG dishwasher has failed innumerable times and been replaced multiple times, until we finally replaced multiple versions with a Bosch (so far, so good); our Kenmore Elite range has also failed and needed repair; my washer has died twice. Shouldnt we expect better when we pay top dollar? And if not Consumer Reports, then why isnt the Attorney Generals Office investigating this clear fleecing of the consumer, Sears policy in which sales people aggressively hound consumers like me into purchasing expensive service contracts, making all sorts of unreliable claims and limited time only price quotes. And then when the consumer actually needs a repair, is treated like Im last in a long line of unhappy customers. Maybe if current embattled Sears CEO Edward Lampert had to face weeks of doing his own familys laundry in a laundromat while he waited for a part on backorder from Sears, he might recognize not only a lot of other people waiting on a Sears part there too. But that while on his watch, the Sears name has eroded big-time as he sacrificed quality in his relentless drive for profits.

We purchased the Whirlpool Cabrio washer and Dryer May 2017. First, this washer is SO LOUD! Honestly, NEVER had a washer that is this loud on the spin cycle. My second issue is, that when I wash my blacks, they have white splotches streaks on them. I use ALL clear and free liquid washer and Downy softener, so I stopped the softener, and still the white streaking. Ive since will use the additional rinse on during the wash, but still leaves white streaks. After 3 separate rinse cycles, no streaking. This leaves me thinking that with the lighter colored clothing, there is probably streaking as well, just can see it - my conclusion is that the clothes arent getting cleaned properly, or rinsed. Another issue is the dryer. First, takes longer than all my previous dryers, even the set 110 mins for towels on high, still takes longer. My washers are not packed tight with clothes either - its just my husband and myself - not a lot of washing. Also, I noticed a crack in the inside dryer/drum where it looks like the paint is chipping and cracked. I used some high heat touch up paint, and it did not help. Needless to say, what I thought was an good reputable product, turns out to be, not so good.

I purchased a washer from Whirlpool through Home Depot on August 7, 2014 and on Dec 31st, 2014 the washer broke. I called Home Depot and was told to call Whirlpool since I was still under a year warranty. After numerous calls I was referred to Advantage |Appliances, a company that provides repair services for Whirlpool. After a week the technician showed up and briefly inspects the machine to conclude that there were two problems with the machine: The controller is defective and there might be another problem since the water is not draining. An order was placed for the part and another week went by with still no part. I called the corporate office only to hear that it might take 5 to 7 days to receive it. In the meantime I had laundry piling up. I was forced to go to the laundromat with one arm in a cast and a painful lower back. I finally received the part on Friday and the technician arrived on Saturday to install the part and then announces that she was willing to fix the water pump but had to get paid in cash since this was not included in the warranty. Now mind you! This woman knew about the problem from her last visit but made believe that it wasnt a problem. Advantage Appliance makes money by extorting their customers out of money. This young lady stood there without blinking asking me to pay her $89.50 to do the job she was suppose to do in the first place. I purchased an extended warranty from Home Depot only to find out that they would not be able to do anything since I was still under warranty. I have never been so angry and want Whirlpool to take responsibility. I am sitting with a washer half full with water and no one is stepping up to do something! Whirlpool is disgusting! The corporate office was not friendly or nice about this situation. They dont care! Why do businesses like Whirlpool get away with this? This is not acceptable.

We purchased our Whirlpool Water Heater about 2 years ago. Three weeks after we bought it, it stopped working; the pilot light would not light. They sent a tech out to replace the thermostat and the thermocouple. Now, it has stopped working again. My husband and I have spent nearly 20 hours on the phone with the WP customer service girls and replaced nearly every part but the tank it self. We have not had hot water for over a week and are at wits end! My husband finally got them to authorize us to get a new water heater from Lowes after they told him there was nothing else they could do to help us. Ive read pages and pages of complaints from other people having this same problem. Why do they put you through all the torture if they know its not going to work? Its very frustrating! We are almost to a point of ripping out all the gas lines and going electric! Will the new one we picked up today have the same problems? Only time will tell!

Five years ago I bought a brand spanking new HE set with a top load washer, top of the line Whirlpool. That washer has been a piece of junk and getting it serviced has been a nightmare. It broke, i.e., the computer part, and was out of commission for FOUR MONTHS. I live on an island off of Alaska, luckily I rented one for the duration but STILL. That was an EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLAR MACHINE. I liked that they are new and shiny and look cool. I hate that the electronics broke after a few years. Ive had washers dryers that lasted TWENTY YEARS. The next set I buy will have plain buttons for cycles and NO ELECTRONICS. None. And still none. Electronics instead of plain buttons. Im not kidding, I will never buy another one with electronics. I bought a top of the line Whirlpool HE top loading set for over $1400 five years ago and that washer has been a bust. I have had a repairman out over 5 times and the last time he took it out and kept it in the shop for FOUR MONTHS. I will never buy a fancy set again. I will buy the old kind with the plain old buttons. Do not make this mistake yourself! Just buy a plain old one!

Terrible wash machine. Some clothes come out having never even gotten wet. The spin cycle ties your clothes in knots so bad you have to machine dry them because the wrinkles are ridiculous. I purchased a Whirlpool Washing Machine in November, 2015 and today, I had a repair person out who said the bearing had ruptured and the washing machine cannot be repaired - 2 1/2 years later. Contacted Whirlpool Customer Service who would do nothing other than try to explain to me that I should have purchased an extended warranty as they could not stand behind the machine past the one year. Would not even offer sending a tech out on their dime to confirm what my repairman had said that this is a failed production process of these machines - it was nothing that I had done caused this issue. But yet they wanted to sell me another machine. It will be a cold day before I purchase another Whirlpool product.I was shocked at the lack of customer service to assist with a situation that both the location I purchased it from and my own repair tech said that they are seeing so often with these machines. I would never purchase another item from Whirlpool again nor would I recommend any of their items. I will go to great lengths to give others the background on how Whirlpool will not stand behind their products, lack of customer service to resolve a situation or can work outside of what is given to them to correct a situation - this is not OK!

We decided to upgrade to the Whirlpool Cabrio Elite set after 20 years of having the same washer and dryer. Yes, they were still working after 20 years, but we wanted the bigger and better and shinier appliances when we bought our new house. The dryer is fine. Dries a load in 38 minutes. The washer is a regular POS that never should have been put on the market. The best thing about this washer is that it has a transparent lid that allows you to watch your laundry getting dirtier as it washes. Its less than a year old so I havent had the problems with the bearings and such yet, but as far as cleaning, it DOES NOT DO THE JOB! My blacks have white residue on them EVERY SINGLE time I wash them. I end up washing/rinsing/rinsing my darks which definitely defeats the save water function. A regular load takes an hour to wash, and then another hour to rewash, which definitely isnt time saving. My whites are grey and often come out with the same dirt on them as they had going in. Im talking about dirt that you can scrape off with your fingernail, which tells me that they arent even getting wet, nevermind washed. The large capacity is a myth, since-- as per instructions--you can only line the dirty clothes around the centre hub without covering the little silver bump in the centre, or else the clothes wont come clean. This wastes a large amount of capacity. In a nutshell, your darks will come out dirtier, your whites will come out dingier, you waste more water from rewashing, you waste more time and electricity due to long wash cycle and rewashing. I will never buy another Whirlpool ANYTHING again.

We had the unfortunate experience of purchasing a Whirlpool product from Lowes. During Memorial Day weekend we came home to a freezer full of defrosted meat. After having to throw away 1/3 of a steer that we purchased from a local 4-H students project due to the temperature of the meat and not knowing how long it had been at that temperature. I called Lowes and they said there was nothing they could do for me since the freezer was over 1 month old. It was right at 2 months. (Purchase date - failure date). They advised me to call Whirlpool directly and gave me a number to the warranty technician. The warranty technician came and immediately found the problem. The defrosting connector was not plugged in when it was manufactured. Clearly a manufacturer issue. I called Whirlpool to find out how much of my over $1500 of meat they would cover. They told me they would not cover any of the loss. Then they offered me a 1 year extended warranty for free for my Inconvenience. What a slap in the face. Why would I need a warranty or even a freezer for that matter since I no longer have anything to put in it. Needless to say I will no longer purchase any products from Lowes or Whirlpool.

Did not allow that and tried another repairman who said the value that switches from freezer to refrigerator was out and if I could find someone to fix it would cost between 600 and 800. Where to begin? I bought Whirlpool Duet Front-Load Washing Machine about 11 months ago after my top load bearing went bad and start making a lot of noise after 8-9 years. 4 months ago (6 months from purchase) it started to act strange; washing machine will not unlock after a cycle, start throwing F3E1 error. Thats when I first called their support service. Their service technicians are very nice actually. They seem to be local small appliance shop, contacted out by Whirlpool, from my guess. Initial visit was to inform me that Im using WAY too much soap, while I was only using well below what was recommended by Whirlpool manual. RED FLAG #1. Technicians told me to stop using too much soap or start using POD. Also to flush my washing machine with 2 cups of white vinegar in hot cycle every few weeks. Ive changed my soap to Tide POD and starting flushing my washing machine immediately after he left my house. It was running OK, but I still saw F3E1 error at the end of every other cycle, until... thing went really bad one day, it simply stopped responding any command while clothes was still in the washing machine. I unplugged power cable and plug it back, it hums for 10 mins and in the end it was the same result. After several attempt, it finally unlocked itself, thus I could wash my clothes at my parents house. This is when I called support service 2nd time. The same technician came and this time, I had video recording of everything. He could not dismiss this with simple soap theory, so he opens up the washing machine and tells me that its due to bad control board. He proceeds to order new control board, which took a few weeks. New technician comes back with new control board and installs, runs a few test command (not full cycle) and leaves. During this whole time, Im left with no washing machine at home. Good thing I travel sometimes and laundry is done remotely sometimes. This repair didnt improve the situation much. I called them back for another appointment. Another technician comes back and tells me that Whirlpool sent back BAD control board. Now, Im really suspecting their product is really piece of **. At least at this point, I was still happy with their service. He leaves my house claiming that they will order new control board and re-install.A few days later, I receive a call from a lady, claiming that Whirlpool has instructed them to ask me to use different outlet, since they believe my outlet is causing issues. Now Im really pissed. Coming from electrical engineering background, I know theres always any chance, but they should double check this with their own technicians. Anyways, I perform their recommendation, which I knew was a shot in the dark. During this whole ordeal, Im working on a project that are out of state (CA). Not only do I have time to stay home for all these service visits, but Im not even home to test my washing machine. During one of the holiday, I was able to take a few days off. This is when I decided to take different approach. I went to the retailer, whom I purchased my washing machine from. They were also nice, but theres so much they can do.I called Whirlpool direct line to explain my situation, how unhappy I was, and to replace my washing machine. Their response was by the book: We can only execute our warranty policy and replacement is not part of warranty. The representative specialist had enough nerve to ask me why I have not called back in several weeks and continue to repeat it as if its my problem for not reporting back. I had spent 2 months of supports and 4 site visits, where I had to reschedule my work or take a day off, before travelling for projects after holiday seasons. This representative really took customer service to next level of hell. In the end Im without properly functioning washing machine for 4 months. I have to coordinate with my parents to use their washing machine when Im back home. My advice, you should really think 3 times before buying Whirlpool washing machine or any other appliance. Also consider that youre on your own, when their product malfunctions, and youll be sitting on dead appliances.

I bought a NEW Whirlpool 40 gallon, natural gas hot water heater from Lowes
I bought a NEW Whirlpool 40 gallon, natural gas hot water heater from Lowes in May 2012. January 04, 2014, the main electronics failed that controlled everything. It has a 9-year warranty (after 1 yr.- parts only). What failed was the Gas Control/thermostat unit, and it takes a HVAC-trained person to replace it. Yes, theyd send the part - free, but required me to pay for installation. Talking with an HVAC business owner, he said hes replaced about 30 of these and he surmised that Whirlpool KNOWS that nationwide, over 10,000 needed replacement yet Whirlpool cares less. Ive had trouble with other Whirlpool products, so when my appliances, etc. go bad, I will NOT replace with Whirlpool products.

I have had this product now for 1.5 years and am very dissatisfied with it. Whirlpool calls their oven an Aqua Lift Self Clean, which is terribly misleading. There is nothing self-cleaning about it, except that the person who needs to clean it is me (myself)! I cannot use oven cleaners on it, because that will void my warranty, so the only way to clean it is to scrub, scrub, scrub, down on my hands and knees, which I havent had to do for many a year. My second issue is with the glass stovetop. I have had many glass tops before and have never, never had such trouble cleaning it. Every time I use the stovetop I need to scrub and polish vehemently to clean it. And thirdly, the dials fail very quickly, and to replace them costs me $50.00 a pop! In just 1.5 years two dials have failed. This is just unacceptable, and I say shame on Whirlpool, and shame on the company that sold it to me. I will never, ever purchase another Whirlpool appliance again.

A whirlpool water heater model FG1F5040T3 purchased from Lowes five years ago developed problems, which could not be fixed. My problems started two weeks ago when the pilot light would not stay lit eight hours at a time and then nothing. Having a service plan through our utilities, they were notified not once but as it stands now, 6 times. Six techs have been out to my house and replaced the thermocouple twice and a complete gas control valve. The pilot still will not stay lit. Supervisor contacted Whirlpool on Thursday. Now its Saturday and no word from Whirlpool and no hot water. Try to get assistance from Whirlpool after work hours and it is impossible. This tells me that they do not care about their customer or the product that they make. Do not buy Whirlpool products!

My elderly mother purchased a Whirlpool Washer Mode Number WTW4955HW1 in November 2020. The washer has had nothing but problems. It leaks, vibrates and moves on the floor. My mother called Home Depot to see what she needs to do, and they said once they deliver the product it is out of their hands. Had our first service call in May 2021 by an authorized service and he said they should sell this on eBay. It is a horrible product, he said there is nothing he can do. Had a second authorized service in June 2021 and they said we needed a new tub which they ordered, and he said this will take up to 2 months, they also said to do only small loads and only use the deep-water wash and deep water rinse. After the technician left the agitator now comes apart. Would not recommend this product to anyone and I would never buy anything at Home Depot because they do stand by the products they sell.

Whirlpool Gold Series Dishwasher - I wish I had discovered this website BEFORE I bought this piece of trash last year to replace our antique Maytag that ran like a champ for 10 years. But after 10 year the gaskets wore out and it started leaking. Even at ten years old that Maytag cleaned and dried better than this brand new Whirlpool. My complaints are the same as everybody else here. Doesnt clean even slightly soiled dishes and then it doesnt dry any of the silverware, or plastic pieces like measuring cups and tupperware. All are totally wet and need to be hand dried. So, why am I cleaning the dishes beforehand and drying them after??? The only good thing I can say about this unit, is that it is quiet. But, as my husband said, so is a brick, and a brick would be just about as good at washing and drying our dishes. Buyers Beware!!! This is a terrible product. Turned me against Whirlpool appliances forever.

It just doesnt stay lit. Every plumber who works on it tells me that they have numerous problems with them and they cannot repair them - the customer has to get the part from Whirlpool. And today the woman I talked to told me that I had to pay the shipping charges, which vary according to how quickly one wants hot water! I personally find that a true rip off. I bought a Whirlpool Cabrio Top Loader High-Efficiency Machine on March 20, 2013. 14 months later, it failed. When I called customer service I was informed the 1 year warranty had expired (I knew this already) and that all they could offer me was a $319 extended warranty to fix machine and guarantee covered future repairs. Luckily, I had the machine repaired at no cost to me after complaining to the sales people I bought the machine from the year earlier. They contacted their Whirlpool representative who had the repair covered. Now, 3 years and 11 days after purchasing it, it failed again. This time the machine would no longer spin out the water. Whirlpool offered nothing more than to give the website and special code for a discount on a new machine. After some haggling, they agreed to pay for 50% of the parts only, no labor. I argued this machine must be a lemon, as they have told me theyve heard no prior issues with this machine and that it would be reasonable to replace this machine. They refused any further assistance. So I threw this piece of junk away and instead, for $185, bought a simple rebuilt 15 year old Maytag washer with agitator, direct drive. Just a couple of knobs. No computer, fancy bells and whistles. I can say with absolute certainty that I will never purchase a Whirlpool product ever again. I also believe these machines are no longer meant to last like old washers (and dryers) used to.

Every appliance Ive ever owned has been a Whirlpool product. I am on my second set of Cabrio washers and dryers. I havent had any issues with the dryers, but the washers are a different story. My first washer, bought in 2008, started throwing water and oil underneath while spinning. A service technician came out... I had to have the entire tub replaced seeing as how the bearings that went bad were in the motor/spinning assembly that was built into the tub. I moved in 2011 and needed another washer and dryer. I was told the problem had been addressed. Now Im having the same problem... the washer is so loud when spinning, you can hear it on the opposite end of the house with doors closed! So the bearing problem has NOT BEEN ADDRESSED!!! Whirlpool will not stand by this product!! Loyalty is not a factor in their assistance... Only profit!!!

I purchased my Whirlpool washer and dryer Cabrio Platinum model in September of 2014 from Lowes and have never been so disappointed in a washer in my life. Not only was it the most expensive washer and dryer set I have ever purchased but it is the absolute worst in performance. It has destroyed most of my clothes and linens, doesnt get them as clean as my former Samsung front-loader, and is constantly twisting up the clothes, getting out of balance and requiring me to adjust the clothes once or twice during each wash cycle. On recent research, I have found that I am not the only one experiencing these problems. Whirlpool should RECALL this series entirely! And I intend to post this review every place I can to prevent future sales of this horrible product.

I have had my Cabrio for a year now and quite frankly, I find more satisfaction taking all of my laundry to a local laundromat. There is no soak cycle and when you have a kid in sports, that doesnt help. There is no agitator, and I am now convinced that they were originally in all washers for a reason. My clothes have all worn out and are shredding, not to mention my very expensive bath towels that I am now cutting into rags. This was the worst purchase I have ever made in my life and will never even look at a Whirlpool again. When I bought my house, I had a Maytag that was 35 years old and it did a better job than the new Cabrio. Should have stuck with that brand!

New models of same washer have redesigned lid, no cross reference part number or dimensions listed to determine if new lid will fit.

I bought a Whirlpool Cabrio 1.5 years ago and it has already died. Repairman need to replace the control board which had gone out. $450.00 to replace that piece, but could not guarantee that it would be the only problem. The motor or some other issue may have caused the board. This machine was purchased at Home Depot on sale and at $450.00 to repair would be approximately 70% of the original price. It will be cheaper to buy a new one rather than fix this one. We were not happy with this machine in the first place. It leaves the clothes stained with a white powder that never rinses off. The cycle time is very long, up to an hour to wash a load. The clothes are still very wet once the cycle is finished, which of course increases the drying time. I cannot recommend Whirlpool top loaders after my experience with this machine.

My family purchased a Whirlpool stainless steel dishwasher at Lowes for around $500. We were replacing a very old GE dishwasher which was so loud you had to leave the room anytime you started it because you couldnt even talk over it. We love the new Whirlpool dishwasher. It is so quiet we thought it was broken at first because we couldnt hear it running and even though it cleans exceptionally well we still sometimes have to look to see that the light is on to know that its actually running. The whole family agrees this may be one of the best purchases weve ever made. The only con I could think of is my son and I put the dishwasher in ourselves and this is the first one weve ever done and the instructions werent as clear so we had to redo the piping of the waterlines a couple of times to figure out in what order to be done. But everything hooked up correctly and worked immediately without a problem. Couldnt be happier.

I bought the Ikea dishwasher (model IUD8500BX1) in 2014. Because it’s from Ikea, it has 5 year warranty. I was using it daily, as I have a family of 5 and we cook and eat at home most days. I have called Whirlpool at least 4 times according to the repairman that was here today. Ive already had to replace the pump because it was holding up water. After which, mold started occurring in the washer. The technician who came out found 4 fault codes on the machine. He was prepared to replace sensors and the circuit board for the heater and the pump, since it likely had mold. But Whirlpool says the parts are functional therefore the replacement parts won’t fix it. He is not allowed to replace anything.Considering the mold is an after effect of the failure to drain, you would think they would fix the mold as well. A replacement dishwasher would be nice, but at least replacement of the internal plastic parts that I cant clean. Instead, they tell me to bleach wash it and run a cycle with bleach. Guess what, Ive already done that. And according to the technician hes never seen a dishwasher have this much mold when it’s used as often as I use it. If you are buying this product thinking they will stand by their product, think again.

It does not do great with cleaning the clothes and they smell when they come out of the washer. Do you have any suggestions. It does not fill with enough water even when using the deep water mode. Please help as I would not recommend this. I called Lowes where I bought it, and they said they knew, but are not recalling, or making any adjustments until Whirlpool does.

Whirlpool customer service says since it is after 1 year, that I would need to pay for the parts & service ($489). I would not recommend this machine or anything Whirlpool.

The one star is just for the oven, which is still working. I have a microwave and oven combo and the microwave is used occasionally for popcorn or to reheat the food. Soon, it stopped warming up. I called the service, which is one of the worse experiences I ever had, and was fixed.Soon after, the same part got broken. But I ran out of the warranty. I bought the extended warranty and all the problems started. I was told by one of the Whirlpool representatives that before my warranty will become effective, I have to fix my microwave on my own expense. But in the Whirlpool terms and conditions, it stated clearly that they do not cover if the repairs are made by anyone other than a participating service provider or those recommended.I decided to cancel the warranty after paying the first rate but before it become effective. I fixed the microwave on my own expense with a different repair service, since the one that was recommended by Whirlpool charged almost a half of the amount as I paid for the whole unit.Within the month, the some part got broken again. I called Whirlpool to find out if this is a manufacture problem and is listed as recall. However, Whirlpool did not respond.

Purchased 2 years ago from Lowes with the matching dryer. This machine (Model #WTW8540BW0) has more problems than the Bosch front load that I replaced. All of my white clothing gets small rust colored lines on it. I am sure this is because the top of the bleach dispenser is lined with rust. I have never owned a washer that rusts (screws are also rusty). I will NEVER purchase another Whirlpool product.

We purchased a mid-grade Whirlpool Gold Series dishwasher a little over 2 years ago. 14 months in, the motor failed, requiring a $295.00 repair/replacement. That was nine months ago, and now the motor has failed again. That is outrageous! No more expensive repairs on this piece of junk. Its going to the scrap heap. We just ordered a Frigidaire. While I have no experience with that brand, it cant possibly be as bad as Whirlpool.

Purchased this Whirlpool refrigerator WRT771REYM at Home Depot in June 2014. Within a few months of purchase, had to call for a repair tech because the water line had frozen. Tech unfroze it and told us not to block the air vents to avoid this happening again. The amount of care we have to take to load this fridge so as not to have the water line freeze is ridiculous. Its very picky. For a while, we were still having to unfreeze the line every couple of months. Then it became more and more frequent, to the point where we cant keep it unfrozen for more than a few hours. This seems like shoddy design to me. And of course, the warranty is expired so I am out of luck unless I want to pay for repairs out of pocket.Adding insult to injury, Whirlpool claims that this isnt a common issue. Not true - there are numerous reviews about this very issue on Amazon, Sears, Home Depot, etc. Just try googling the model #. Sad that Whirlpool does not stand behind its products. Yet another American company to stop building quality and rely on planned obsolescence to ensure revenue generation.

When renovating my kitchen I went with all Whirlpool appliance. I have nothing but trouble with my fridge. About a year old we had to replace the motherboard at our expense. After having that done, about 6 months later I had to defrost it so it would work again. Now it has to be done every month. All they say we can book another service call at my expense again. All I say thank goodness I kept my old Frigidaire. It saved me more than once. So my advice is stay away from Whirlpool. They dont stand behind their products from my experience.

I had a 6 year warranty on the new Water heater and about only 4 years into it the tank began leaking. Whirlpool replaced it but of course I was responsible for Parts and labor to replace it. The replacement only lasted just over only 2 years and just outside the total of 6 years from original purchase date on the first. Whirlpool refused to discuss it since it was a few months out of warranty. If someone else has purchased this heater it would have failed at 2 years and they would have had to warranty it anyway. I will never own another Whirlpool appliance because of their substandard products and warranty. I only wish I had reviewed the reviews of others and taken their experiences into consideration and not purchased Whirlpool. I am now out for another heater and reinstallation charges again.

I guess I am in the lucky group because my washer lasted about 3 years before the problems started. The latest is the lid lock light flashing, the machine doesnt go through full cycle but stops in the middle, doesnt spin and drain. Even before that the clothes didnt come out clean. The repairman said that this product is basically disposable and it makes more sense to buy a new washer than to invest in fixing this one because something else will break next.My old White Westinghouse lasted 18 years without one problem, Im sorry I wanted something new. What a pity that companies nowadays sell junk and the consumer has nowhere to go with a complaint. Im wondering if someone has the name and the address of the CEO of Whirlpool, I would like to ship that piece of junk to where it came from... it would be funny if other customers did the same. And I agree with other posts that class action suit would be in order... too bad nobody started it yet. I wish I had read the reviews before I made the purchase but at least I know now to stay away from all Whirlpool products and do whatever I can to prevent other people from making the same mistake I did.

I like the washer for the most part. The thing I dont like is that even though I always keep the door open after doing a load of wash, the gasket continues to grow mold requiring me to do a monthly bleach/sanitizing process which is different than doing a bleach load of wash. The gasket also needs to be cleaned frequently. This is in a front loader.

Like many other reviews Ive read here this morning, I bought a Whirlpool Cabrio HE Top loading washer before I did my homework. I purchased approximately 2 years ago. While I dont seem to have the volume of complaints Ive read from others, I do have many intermittent complaints. As others have described, from day one I have gone from this uneasy feeling about how it is working to down right POd about the condition of my clothes after a load finishes.List of issues you will avoid by buying a different product: 1. Water levels SO low your clothes dont get clean. Yes Whirlpool, thank you for trying to save me $$ by lowering my water bill, but for goodness sake there should be enough water in the damn tub to cover the load. I literally watch dry clothing twist back and forth and NEVER go out (like they claim) to the edge of the tub and under then back up in the center. Instead they just sit there watching from the edge while the poor items of clothing in the center get twisted together.2. Powdered detergent, even if listed as HE will not dissolve in this low water level and will end up as white patches of film on your dark clothes. Suggestion to avoid this - dont use powdered detergent, but even if you use liquid HE detergent, you may still experience white patches of soap film on your clothes. It happens on all of them but shows up clearly on dark clothes. Setting the washer to always do a 2nd rinse cycle will improve the outcome. Not a perfect solution since the point of a low water washer is to use LESS water and not more by running a 2nd rinse on all your loads.3. No Consumer/User options to allow you to use the washer as you see fit. Since I paid a small fortune for this stupid washer and didnt realize that I would never again be able to dye fabric in my washer I am posting this as a warning to other crafty consumers. DONT BUY THIS WASHER if you ever want to dye fabric or an article of clothing larger than underwear. There is absolutely no setting on the washer cycles that will fill the tub with more than a few inches of water. The washer falsely has a mislabeled setting called Deep Water Soak. This is absolutely a LIE. Good thing I tested the cycle before putting my blanket in there to dye it. The cycle spins many times in the beginning pouring water into the clothes, then empties the tub and does it again. Then after 10 minutes into the cycle it begins to fill (if you want to call it that) the tub. After putting about 3 inches of water in the tub - not even enough to cover the top of the articles in the tub (I used 6 towels as my test subjects) it stops to soak. But stuff is still sticking up out of the water!!! OMG! So frustrating. This would not do for dyeing anything of value as you would not be able to agitate enough to ensure coverage of the fabric evenly with dye. Just dont buy this washer if you have, as I have in the past, enjoyed changing the color of linens and re-dyeing dark clothing that have faded! Whirlpool clearly didnt care about how consumers actually need to use the washer. I may try using this setting by pausing and filling it manually with buckets of hot water from my sink to get enough water in there to cover the fabric. Its just ridiculous that I even have to consider how to outsmart my washer!4. Smelly clothes. Seriously. I do the obligatory monthly Affresh cleanings, and I have learned to leave the lid open after the last load of clothes so the tub can air dry. However, I still from time to time pull a load out of the tub and it smells like mildew. And dont think for one second that the smell will go away when dried. I have opened the dryer and pulled clothes out, smelled the mildew and put them right back in the washer for a 2nd go round. Nothing worse than putting on a clean nightgown and smelling like mildew! Ewe!! With this awful washer you can NEVER leave a load of washed clothing sit for any length of time or you can look forward to smelly clothing. Hate it. Absolutely HATE it. Again, this defeats the purpose of using less water.Cant make myself spend more dollars that I dont have in the budget to replace this piece of crap. I have figured out all the workarounds for now, but as soon as I can replace it I will send it to the dump. Not going to resell or donate to anyone else as it would just be a burden for others. If there was ever a rightful need for a class action lawsuit to compensate consumers for false claims by a company - this is it! Hope this helps prevent anyone reading from making the poor purchase decision I have!

Whirlpool Cabrio - What a nightmare. One year in… from the beginning the washer completes a cycle without attention. It gets stuck in a rinse cycle and eventually stops with an FF error display. Because of this it wastes HUGE quantities of water and takes far too long to actually wash clothes. It is so frustrating. We will buy a new Bosch and THROW this way. Dont buy this washing machine. All of my clothes are dingy and gray. I paid $1,751.96 for this set. What a big waste of money. Sometimes the clothes come out with dry spots and then some come out with lint like they have gone through the dryer and yet they are coming out of the wash. Often they are in a very tight large ball in the center of the machine. I distribute evenly around the machine and I dont overload. The brilliant engineer that decided the machine did not need a soak cycle is a person that has never washed clothes. Wish I would have taken pictures of some of the soil still left on my clothes.

I bought a Whirlpool refrigerator (dbl dr) from Home Depot and received it on August 4th. When I went to clean it I found that blood had spilled from a roast and had accumulated all around the inside of the plastic shelf seal. It was impossible to clean. Water just ran inside the seal and diluted the blood. Then, it leaked all over my kitchen. I had a serviceman here for another problem, sent by Whirlpool. He said hed try to get them to replace the shelf. Never heard from him again. I called Whirlpool today. Was told I could buy another shelf. Otherwise, they didnt care. Said it wasnt a functional problem. This is a definite health hazard. Whirlpool used to be wonderful. What happened? I have a dryer, washer, and water tank about to need replacing. Whirlpool wont see a dime from me. (Home Depot, either.) This has become a very bad company. Ive contacted the NY Dist. Attys office. Meanwhile, I have a fridge with a major shelf missing for the holidays and for the foreseeable future.

Fridge: no ice cubes. Water dripping from the door. Base of one door damaged. After 4 WHIRLPOOL repair services visits, ice cubes OK. Dishwasher: 40% of the time, kitchen floor damped with dirty smelly sticky water. Were first told: Its the product; next: Its the way you arrange dishes; next: The filter is not completely clean. And we are waiting on the 4th visit from the Whirlpool service. We have owned at least 7 dishwashers so far, this is just unbelievable! Poor poor poor performance, with dishes covered with dirty film once in a while. And you never know when the dishwasher will decide to misbehave...Stove: White ceramic stove one day broke with a sauce pan cooking on top of it... Microwave and stove and oven: they beep and beep and beep, to tell you you are increasing the heat (one beep every time you touch), to remind you infinitely the food is ready, etc. And there is NO way these contacts can be disconnected. Now imagine oven on plus 2 saucepans cooking on the stove for which you have to increase/decrease temp. plus the dishwasher finishing, all at once, every day. How much beeping it makes after a long day at work.

Im glad to see that Im not the only one that is dissatisfied with Whirlpool
Im glad to see that Im not the only one that is dissatisfied with Whirlpools products. Three weeks ago I found my basement to be flooded and you could tell that it was from the hot water heater that was installed in 2005. The plumber changed the release valve. I thought that was it. This past Wednesday I go down the basement and find another flood. The plumber said pilot was not lit. The explanation was wind could have come down the chimney and blew out the pilot. Pilot was relighted and within 12 hours there’s cold water again. I called the plumber again and said that the thermal coupling must have gone bad. I went to Lowe’s to get a replacement and found that Whirlpool is sending a free replacement but I would have to pay shipping. All well and good, but what do I do in the meantime for hot water? If Whirlpool made a mistake, why didnt they send the replacement parts to the businesses that sell their products? I guess that would be the simple solution; instead, they expect me to pay $30.00 for shipping and be without hot water. Well, let me tell you: Im tired of this hot water heater. Whirlpool can go out of business for all I care because they dont stand behind their products. Im going to buy myself a Rheem and Im sure Ill be a lot happier. Need a new hot water heater? Don’t get a Whirlpool!

We purchased the pair a year ago and its been nothing but headaches. First of all, half the clothes dont even get wet. They say its high efficiency but I dont think theres any efficiency when it doesnt even wash them. Second, when it actually does wash them, it leaves detergent all over the clothes. Imagine your black dress pants with white bleach like streaks all over them. We called because we were under warranty and a repair man came out. Totally useless. He said because its high efficiency, its supposed to do that. Not clean my clothes?? Why would I have purchased a WASHING machine that doesnt clean clothes?? Is there some other use for it Im unaware of?? He told us to try using deep water setting and extra rinse. So now we can wash 3 pair of socks at a time instead of one. Yippee.Do NOT BUY THIS CABRIO WASHER, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE. Youd be better off with a plastic bucket from the dollar store. If you get it as a gift, the person who bought it for you may secretly hate you. I wish wed had the benefit of these reviews. Now were out $1500. Will NEVER, EVER BUY A WHIRLPOOL PRODUCT AGAIN. ECO friendly top load Whirlpool washing machine - I bought this machine September 2013. Now it has a continuous clicking sound. It appears to be the lid locking mechanism and the washing machine will not turn on. It is under warranty and I am finding it hard to get a repair service in my area that is directed to Whirlpool to come and fix it. The only appliance repair in our area states that they will charge for trip and service if they find that is not a defect within the Whirlpool perimeters. I could be charged up to $200 for trip and service which is half of what I paid for. Whirlpool states this is not the case, and I am now having to wait a week to even set up yet another appointment. I have other machines that lasted 7-10 years until they wore out. I am frustrated and what could be a simple fix has turned into a financial nightmare.

I purchased a Whirlpool Refrigerator Model # WRF990SLAM00 in May of 2013. My wife started noticing ice build up on the ice maker in the refrigerator section of this French Door model. We had it serviced for the same problem 4 times and the problem still existed. At this point, Whirlpool offer to give us our money back, and here is where things got interesting. My wife spoke with a Sheila who was to issue a check to a third party company who would then pick up the refrigerator and give us the check. Sounds simple enough, huh? The company was to get the check in 7-10 business days so we bought a new refrigerator, a Samsung this time, and scheduled its delivery for the time frame we were told the non-functioning fridge would be picked up. My wife could not get in touch with Sheila, which was always a problem, and we talked to a Beth who told us that this whole process had not even been started yet. Well, we are having our new fridge delivered and still waiting on our check and for someone to come and pick up this American-made piece of crap! We wanted to buy American, but this is what we got, a piece of crap!!

It only cleans the bottom of the oven and that is after you mop up the water left in the bottom and scrub it. No amount of scrubbing even touches the sides, back or window, even after using the Aqualift feature 3 times! I spent hundreds of dollars only to be down on my hands and knees scrubbing to no avail.
