As I write this, I am on my 5th service call in four months of ownership. The machine runs short cycles and requires us to not only do an extra rinse, each load requires an additional Quick Wash (with extra rinse) to get the detergent out. We use so little detergent that a 75 fl. oz. bottle has lasted four months with over 50% left. The techs Whirlpool sends are great. The call center first level people are fabulous. The supervisor is not helpful proclaiming that it was fixed. However, we still have to re-run the clothes every time.

My wife and I purchased this Cabrio washer 6 years ago when we got our new home. I have replaced the discharge pump 2 times, and approximately 2 months ago, we developed a noise so loud it was like a jet engine landing. I called our appliance store and paid $100 for an estimate, only to find out it will cost $973.00 to fix it. When we bought this, I was told it will be the last washer we will ever need. Ill never use Whirlpool again and recommend no one else does, either. I wrote to your customer chat line and basically the reply was Sorry about your luck. I know Im not the only one with this issue.

I bought a Whirlpool Partner II 5 and a half years ago. It was always noisy and took very long to run a cycle. It started to malfunction after 2 years. We bought a new computer for it and a new control panel for the touch keys. It still kept not running a cycle fully. We found a YOUTUBE video that showed how to reset the model by pressing a combination of Normal and Heated Dry and that seemed to fix it for 2 years. It has stopped working again. Now it seems that the heating element is out. It doesnt clean at all, a scum film has covered the inside of the dishwasher and even mold spots are appearing. Ive had to wait extremely long times on hold to talk with an agent. My option is to hire a repair tech to come out and repair it and I pay for the parts. Seems like a bad deal since Ive already spent over a hundred on repairing it and a lot of hours. I will never buy a Whirlpool brand appliance again.

We purchased a Whirlpool front loading washer about three years ago. During our first year the machine worked OK, but three months after warranty expiration (12 month warranty), the sensors seems to go wonky and it no longer worked (at 15 months of age). We paid about $95 in the Minneapolis area for a service call. The repairman had to call Whirlpool from our home to inquire about the sequence of flashing lights on the sensor. After getting off the phone he told us he thought he knew the problem, but could not guarantee that the $200+ part he suggested ordering would solve the problem. The installation would require additional labor charges, of course. I reported the incident to the manager of the repair service and was told the repairman was expert in Whirlpools but this did not further inspire confidence. We were not willing to sink this amount into the machine, so ditched it and bought a top-loading inexpensive Roeper. The top-loading machine definitely appears harder on the clothes than the front loading Whirlpool, but it gets the clothes cleaner and has been problem-free so far.

We have had the same problem with the magnetron in our Whirlpool Microwave Hood Combination. Replaced this part in Dec. 2012 after warranty expired. Cost of repair was nearly cost of microwave. Magnetron went out a second time this week. When I called Whirlpool customer service, the management rep was very hard line about the warranty on the unit and parts. Very clear this company has a product reliability issue and does not want to keep its customers. I dont plan to purchase another Whirlpool product ever. What a frustrating disappointment!

I have a gas range Model WFG540HOESO Airlift self clean. When anyone reaches across or leans against the range, ever so slightly, the knobs turn and gas is released. It is EXTREMELY dangerous. The Airlift self clean has never worked. When the repairman contacted the technicians at Whirlpool, they told him that there was nothing they could do. In other words, I am stuck with an oven that will not self clean. The water in the bottom does not even come to a boil.

I purchased a Whirlpool washing machine from PC Richards in Lake Grove 15 months ago. I paid $590.00. I had to call PC Richards back because it sounded like the machine was not spinning right. The servicemen came back and said nothing was wrong. It was supposed to sound like that. Now the machine stopped draining and spinning. I went to the store and they handed me customer service numbers and said they could not help me. I contacted Whirlpool online and received a phone call from a woman that gave me a lesson on how to load the machine and put soap in it! She was a very polite woman, but, gee, that didn’t solve my problem. After 4 days I was able to get through by phone and was told to call service. I contacted Mahler Appliance. He looked at it and said he couldn’t fix it and took a check for $81.47. He told me to call Whirlpool. I called Whirlpool again and got their service people. The gentleman came and could not figure out what was wrong. He tried a few things and said it was probably the main board. He said to call Whirlpool, but they most likely won’t give me back my money. He could charge me $460.00 for a new board per his supervisor. I just paid $590.00 for the machine and another $87.00 to some guy who took advantage. He left with an $87.00 check and I still have a broken washer. He did tighten up a loose wire he said he found and told me to try it and good luck. So I tried it. I put clothes in and turned it on.I came back about 20 minutes later to see if it continued to run and I slipped and fell on the ceramic floor because water drained out from somewhere and went all over my floor. I have injured my back and elbow from hitting the hard floor. I also have water all over the place and finally a very broken defective washer. I am angry. I hurt myself and have spent close to $1000.00 and I still have no working washer and no way to buy another one. The washer is 15 months old. That’s brand new to me. There was obviously a problem from the beginning. Whirlpool has always had a quality name for years. I would hope that they would stand by their product and fix my washer for me. It is obviously defective.

Updated on 12/28/2020: I purchased a 28 cu. ft. side by side Whirlpool refrigerator less than 3 years ago (Feb. 18). The icemaker dispenser paddle quit working nearly a year ago and there are no replacement parts supported. Today the ice maker quit making ice. This is crap for a major appliance that youd expect to go twenty years or so. Very dissatisfied. Dont waste your money on this stuff.Original Review: I purchased a Whirlpool side by side refrigerator about 2-1/2 years ago, paid $1,800+ for it. Now two months ago the ice maker dispenser through the door quit working. I replaced the auger motor and that didnt help. Now the parts department says the actuator panels are no longer available. This is planned obsolescence to the Nth degree. No support for a major appliance less than 3 years old. Whirlpool SUCKS!!!

Worst appliance of any kind that I have ever used. Has only on/off button, in effect. Wastes water. There is no option to change anything once cycle has begun. No soaking. Occasionally, the machine simply decides to stop and drain itself so that you can start all over again!! No idea how long cycle is. Nearly done? No idea. No matter what temp or how much detergent or how much water, the clothes are not clean. The lid locks and so there is no way to know whats going on. I suspect there is very little water during rinse cycle. All of the whirlpool appliances are similarly horrible. Washer is the WORST. Shame on you Made in America.

I bought my Whirlpool gas stovetop in March of 2016. The burner knobs that connect to the stove is made of plastic and all 5 knobs broke within the first year. Each year I have replaced knobs and had issues with the knob breaking and then not being able to tell if the gas is off or on. I have called and talked to people at Whirlpool about this issue several times. Although they seemed concerned they will not replace the knobs and I have had to purchase them through Whirlpool. The gas stovetop obviously has a serious and extremely dangerous design flaw. I have kept some of the broken knobs just to tell others about this terrifying flaw. Again, last night the gas was on for several hours before we discovered it!! I called Whirlpool again and they were unconcerned. The Model is #WCG97US0DS00, Serial#D60509297. Beware and DO NOT PURCHASE this gas stovetop. I wish I had not bought mine.

My wife and I were gifted a brand new washer (model: WTW7300DW0) and dryer set. We were very excited to try them out as we had just moved into our new home and had been without a W/D for about a week. We ran our first couple of loads and discovered that our clothing was, especially dark colors, covered in white stains. We didnt know what it was so, we did a little research and found out it was most likely soap residue. So, we reduced the amount of soap we were using... and it still happened. We tried every setting available on the touch screen... clothes still came out covered in soap. We eventually called Whirlpool and had a technician come check it out. He ran his tests, said everything was fine, and to use only a teaspoon of soap for every full load of laundry. This didnt sound right to me but we tried it out... stains... still... and I noticed our whites were not getting cleaned very well at all. Sweat stains from undergarments were hardly touched during the wash cycle. After several more phone calls to Whirlpool, were having another technician come out. I just want Whirlpool to take this POS off of our hands and exchange it for something that works. A washing machine that actually washes would be nice.

Its an IKEA double wall oven. Top oven is convection, bottom oven is regular. The cost was half of what a single wall oven was at other stores. It is very simple without a lot of fancy timers and extras. Its great for cooking a very large meal when you need two ovens or have recipes that need different temperatures. I was able to shop entirely online to the store in another city and have the wall oven delivered for minimal charge. I dont mind paying more for better quality, but it seems increasingly hard to find. I purchased my no-name double wall oven from IKEA in 2010 for around $1000. That was almost half the price of a name brand single wall oven. Apparently the oven is made by Whirlpool. Self clean option works well. You cant beat it for putting on a great big meal where items require cooking at different temperatures. Both ovens are full size so you could cook a giant turkey and a ham at same time. Never had a problem with it either.

I currently rent, and so when our literally 30-yr. old GE dishwasher broke down, our landlords went out and installed us a new Whirlpool Dishwasher. I was excited because FINALLY I would have clean dishes and a dishwasher that didnt leak a bucket of water all over the floor. Well, weve had it for about 6-8 months now and I have to say that I am not impressed. It is not as great as I thought itd be. First of all, my dishes still look cloudy (despite using various brands - even homemade - detergent). Second, one out of every three washes gives me still-dirty dishes (food still on them, even though I rinse before loading the dishes). Now, Im not talking about tough stuck-on, need a jack-hammer to remove food. Just normal food. Mostly it is oil, like if I had a plate that I had eaten French fries on and there was grease left behind that normal rinsing didnt remove. A new dishwasher SHOULD be able to clean that! Third, it guzzles Jet Dry liquid (or whatever rinse aid you use) like an alcoholic in a bar. I have used a BIG bottle in one month. One month. With the old 30 yr. old dishwasher, it took me around 2 YEARS to use a big bottle. And lastly, it takes F-O-R-E-V-E-R to wash a load. My old dishwasher took an hour tops - to rinse, wash, rinse, and dry - and it was 30 years old. This new Whirlpool takes 3 HOURS!!! I can literally hand-wash all of my dishes (and with a family of 4 thats a lot of dirty dishes in one day), sit them out to air dry, and take a nap and it take LESS TIME than using the dishwasher. The dishwasher has all the bells and whistles to make it look good, but trust me, if I could have had the 30-year old dishwasher rebuilt to newness, I would have begged my landlord to do that instead. Dont waste your money on Whirlpool appliances. I left another less than friendly review for my Whirlpool Cabrio washer (only 5 years old), if you care to see it. Learned my lesson, dont buy Whirlpool. So disappointed because they used to be (USED TO BE) a reputable dependable brand.

Our Whirlpool Duet Washer started sounding like a jet engine 13 months after purchase. We spent $800 on a washer and it started to get very loud during spin cycle. After reading several reviews online with other people describing the same problem, figured it was the bearings. $800 to do my laundry for 13 months kind of crazy right. It would have cost almost $300 for the extended warranty through Whirlpool. In order to have it repaired, the cost would be around $600 because the drum and bearings need to be replaced at this point. Whirlpool’s customer service was no help and pretended they had never heard of this problem. However, reading reviews online tells me otherwise. I can buy a new Samsung on sale for $623, so that is the route we will probably take. We feel extremely cheated by what was once a well-known, reputable company. We will not buy Whirlpool/Maytag again until they put more emphasis on quality products with a cost efficient, longer duration warranty plan.

I bought a Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum washer 2 years ago and it is by far the worst washer I have ever owned. Its a water saving device with extremely long cycles. The clothes dont get wet enough, dont come out clean and they do not smell fresh. I have to put them through 3 rinse cycles and often times have to re-wash my clothing. The cycles are very long, using more electricity, and it takes me 3 times as long to get my weekly laundry done. My clothing comes out more wrinkled and twisted causing longer time ironing. My old agitator style washer did a superior job compared to this piece of junk. I dont like the automatic locking lid, nor do I like the machine choosing the spin cycle for me. There isnt even a soak cycle. If I want to soak my things I have to do it in the sink and then drag them to the washer to rinse and spin them.I spend a fortune on laundry additives in order to get my clothing clean and then they arent as clean as with my old washer. I now dread doing laundry and every time I look at the washer I feel like taking it to the dump! There isnt anything I like about this machine and I wouldnt recommend it to anyone. It is a piece of crap. This is 2016 and they havent learned how to make a good working washing machine. When I move, I will be celebrating leaving it here! I will never, ever buy a product made by them again.

I purchased this refrigerator and have had problems with it from almost the
I purchased this refrigerator and have had problems with it from almost the beginning. First, the doors wholl not stay open long enough to remove items. The technician Whirlpool sent out said the cause was an uneven floor. I checked with a level and the floor is almost completely even. So, then it said thats the way it was intended to work. Isnt that what the adjustment wheels on the bottom are supposed to correct? They dont. One individual in Whirlpools customer service department told me that the doors were not a functional part of the fridge and, therefore were not covered by the warranty. What?Next the refrigerator leaked and ruined the ceiling in the floor below. A few weeks after that was fixed (the fridge, not the ceiling), the unit completely shut down and I lost a tremendous amount of food. Bad enough to have to go through this but then to have Whirlpool treat me so the horribly was absurd. Fridge broke on Friday and a service person came out on Wednesday. Tech tells me he has to order the part (control box) and I find out the next day that the part was on back order. I had already been without a fridge for a week when Whirlpool tells me the part was not available until 9/19 (this was on 8/6)! That was not an acceptable solution so I requested a refund or a new fridge. Nope, their job is to repair, not replace. They said they needed 7-10 days to see if they could get the part earlier. What? Then if it couldnt be repaired in a reasonable amount of time they would consider replacing the appliance. They would not define reasonable amount of time.I believe I spoke to about 10 or 12 different whirlpool reps, and was told 4 times that a supervisor would return my call. One person did call back when I was unable to answer the phone and I called her back within 20 minutes. Guess what, she wasnt available and she never responded to my 3 return calls. When I complained that I had spoken to so many different people and was tired of telling the fridge saga to yet another person who would not help me, she volunteered to be my point person. She gave me her direct extension and said she would handle my case. I left 3 or 4 messages for her and she never returned my call. In other words, I was constantly told that I would receive return calls but never did. In summary, no one cared that I had an almost brand new Whirlpool refrigerator that was not working and that the date I could expect a repair was indefinite. In addition to all of that, every time I called they were experiencing a high call volume. Maybe they could hire more staff? When this all started, Home Depot told me I had to go through Whirlpool because it was under their warranty for the first year. Finally I decided to go to the store (after all, I did pay them for the fridge). After 3.5 hours in Home Depot, they agreed to replace the refrigerator. I havent gotten it yet (they did send over a small loaner), I am really hoping this is the end of this fiasco. I want my life back!! !

Called Whirlpool & they offered to send me a paste I could rub in & rinse off. THATS NOT SELF CLEANING. ITS MYSELF CLEANING plus cancer in abdomen so difficult for me to do. Class action suit is being filed again but not sure if it will be for 1 state. Many complaints on Whirlpool & other companies using aqualift.

Bought the dishwasher 3 years ago and now its not worth anything as its pump gave away. Cost to replace the pump is $200 or more so it doesnt make sense to do that since you can get a new one for $300-$400. Everyone I talk to say they are not building these as they use to and they give out in 2-3 years. I am very unhappy with this dishwasher.

The interior has an excellent layout and accommodates our oversized dishes. The racks operate with ease. The outside appearance is tastefully done and the noise level when in operation is very low compared to other brands we have owned. We are pleased with the overall operation of this unit and would recommend it to others.

I purchased a Whirlpool water heater and after working fine for about 2 1/2 years, I began having problems with it staying lit. I dealt with troubleshooting beginning in January of 2012 and finally in March of 2012, I was sent some replacement parts. The unit worked fine through the summer and once the weather started getting cold in October of 2012, I began to have problems with the unit again. After a couple of months complaining and threatening to file a BBB complaint, I was sent all of the parts left to change on the water heater. And I was told after the parts were changed if the unit still did not work, that it was probably a venting issue and that I would be responsible for that issue and the unit was not defective. I received the parts on 12/04/12 and they were changed out the same day. Now the unit will light when I hold down the button to light it but once I let go, the pilot light goes out. At least before changing out the parts, the unit was able to be turned on and sometimes it would work and other times it didnt, but now it will not light at all. This is very frustrating because the unit is under warranty and Whirlpool has for an entire year fought me tooth and nail just to send me the parts for the unit, only for the unit to still not work. I have a family and it is discouraging to not know when you are going to have hot water, having to constantly fix the unit or to call Whirlpool to troubleshoot and finally for the unit to still not work after replacing the parts. It looks like I will not have any hot water at all now.

Ive had the WDF510PAY dishwasher for 3 years and the circulation pump broke. To be more specific the impeller inside the circulation pump warped and then basically got lodged because it became oblong and then it wouldnt pump water to the spray arms etc. I bought a new pump because the warranty only last a year. The pump cost around 90 bucks. After not even 1 full year this factory replacement pump failed again. I reviewed other Whirlpool dishwashers more expensive and I found they all have this same junky circulation pump. Im not sure of a better dishwasher but I would never recommend a Whirlpool dishwasher again. They also use the same circulation pump in Maytag and many other brands. Whirlpool or whoever designed and sold this pump to Whirlpool should be tracked down and beaten. Simple products like dishwashers should last more than 3 years. The technology is nothing new. A product should last 10 years at least.

Whirlpool Cambridge Model #WTW7300DW0 - Someone needs to help us consumers with this wash machine purchase being refund our money back from Whirlpool. It literally eats my clothes. I have 23 shirts that have pin holes in them and 1 shirt with large holes in it. I also have a ruined comforter and blanket. The comforter has soap stains everywhere which dont come out so its not cleaning the clothes, the blanket (which Ive had for over 30 years) was frayed one side, seam torn off - the piece never came out of the wash machine. I have pictures attached of the damaged. Its suppose to be Water Efficient - thats a joke! I do 1 set of king sheets. It runs for an hour and 20 minutes and fills water to the rim of the washer and does this twice. Id like them to pay for my water bills! Oh they came to service it only to tell me I was putting the clothes in wrong. The service company said I had to put the clothes against the sides and leave the middle open. They told me there was nothing wrong but consumer error. Well I did clothes today and aligned them like the service company said - 4 more shirts were ruined. Called Whirlpool today. They said they were sending someone else out to fix the problem and said, Unfortunately, we dont pay for damaged goods. Well from all the reviews I read Whirlpool needs to suck it up and recall this piece of crap they call a wash machine. Did I mention its only 1 year old, yea this is horrible!

I purchased a Whirlpool 12-gallon point-of-use water heater as a booster when I was going to get a tankless and when we decided that we didnt need a tankless, I tried to get an RA number through the manufacturer so that the store could give me credit, as it says directly on the water heater, Do not return to store. They said there is nothing that they will do and it cant be returned to the store. So, what am I supposed to do with this water heater now? Before I knew this was going to happen, I purchased a 50-gallon Whirlpool water heater as well. So now, I have the 50-gallon that I have had to replace the element for already and I have only had it for less than a month and a half, and the 12-gallon is just sitting in my garage. A couple years ago we purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio WTW8000 top-load, high-capacity, washing machine based upon good claims of the salesman at Lowes - Appliance Dept. This was not an inexpensive machine. However, this washing machine failed to live up to representations and performance is poor. However, biggest complaint is that clothes are able to get stuck between drum and the unique agitating device which results in holes and tears in material. This is a significant design flaw and were not sure why more people dont complain about this rather significant design flaw. Of course, there are other shortcomings... but destruction of clothes is a serious problem. While this machine is in excellent condition, it will be replaced with a more traditional washing machine with vertical agitator ASAP.

Bought the washer from HH Gregg for over $560 12/2012. Turned on power 4/2014 and just heard clicking noises then nothing. Had to get technician. Paid for $75 service charge and waiting for cost of labor and part for the lid lock/latch assembly. I see a lot of complaints with this new machine. I bought a new one BECAUSE I did not want any problems with repairs. Whirlpool is ripping off the consumer passing out this piece of discombobulated metal, wires and electronics. An appliance like this should last AT LEAST 7 years without a problem. I wish there was a class action lawsuit and will be waiting to the day it surely comes.

The pilot will not stay lit, and apparently, there was some sort of class action lawsuit due to a defective part that I missed out on because I didnt know about it. I will make this short. If there was a part that could break on my Whirlpool fridge, it broke. Whirlpools 3rd party repair company (Flamingo Appliance Services, who are awful themselves) was at my home countless times. This last time, they were replacing the same malfunctioning part for the THIRD TIME. The Flamingo technician (Nicholas) insured me that the issues were not related, despite the same exact part being replaced 3 times. I told him that I believed that was a dishonest statement, and he left the fridge un-repaired. Now Whirlpool nor Flamingo will help, and I am stuck with a non-functional fridge, and small children at home. Whirlpool and Flamingo represent everything I despise, have zero integrity, and are a reading on the barometer of where our country is headed.

It has had very little use as I typically take my clothes to the laundry mat since it is anything but large capacity. I have always had problems with the buttons malfunctioning but I went to empty a load and the water was still standing in it - I got code ld and realized that the entire tub had broke off and dropped into the bottom of the machine. Of course I did not know until my washer went and had service come to my house. He explained prior information, looked at my machine for 2 seconds and said someone put in a heavy load that machine was not able to handle and 2 belts broke and guts of machine are destroyed. Its a $799 fix, not including labor, youre better off buying a new machine. How does he know thats the reason for breaking??? The machine is 2 years old, not a scratch on it!!! Unbelievable!!!! Then states thats $114 for the service call. $114 for 2 seconds!!! Im absolutely furious!!! Whirlpool has a new program (if it helps anyone), if your machine is fairly new they will give you a invoice for 1/2 off a new Whirlpool... Take it from there. There should be a tremendous action lawsuit, look at all these complaints...

We bought the Whirlpool Cabrio forcibly when our 20-year-old top load whirl
We bought the Whirlpool Cabrio forcibly when our 20-year-old top load whirlpool finally gave out. The Cabrio sucks. It does not get anything clean, it ruins clothes due to low water which creates friction, clothes are left wrinkly, smelly, pilled with lint, stinky and unclean. Ive had it for a year and Ive given every cycle a chance. It simply does not do what it is supposed to.The HE washers are supposed to reduce water, but having to rewash everything several times with load times up to two hours not only increases the amount of water used but increases the amount of energy used. Our electric bill has gone up $30-55 a month on average. This doesnt even account for the fact that Im spending nearly 16 hours a week doing laundry for a household of five. Thats nearly triple the time I used to spend on laundry. From having to pretreat even the most minor stains to spending hours trying to get the wrinkles out, and having to remove pills of lint, to the fact that one wash cycle does not get the odors out nor the dirt out therefore multiple cycles are required. I honestly think I might spend less time if I hand wash everything, I certainly would get them clean and deodorized. UNFORTUNATELY Government regulations force the consumers to buy HE washers so our choices for clean deodorized clothes are non existent. If I had to do it again I would buy a used non-HE washer knowing it would run another 10 years and actually get my clothes clean.

So I had a problem with the water heater after 2 years and had the sensor fix by my heating people. Now the water heater is 3 years old and started leaking from the top of the water heater. Called my heating people and they fix the pipe and coupling on top but he told me the water was still bubbling up at the top. He told me it could stop and 70% it would be ok. Went to check on it and it continues to leak so I called Whirlpool because it was still under warranty. They are the most horrible people to deal with. First of all I told the guy it was leaking from the top but he asked me if it was leaking out of the side pipe. Didnt know what he was talking about and he kept sighing on the phone. If I knew about water heaters I wouldnt be calling them. After all the questions it came down to it was leaking where I told him at the top. He gave me a number and told me to take the water heater back to Lowes and get a new one and then call them and they would move the warranty over to the new heater. Really???? We are not talking about clothes you want to bring back to a store. Asked him how I should do this and he told me to call a heating contractor. So does he think that the heating contractor and going to run the water heater back for a new one??? In the end I just called my heating people and they are going to send somebody out to install a new heater. So much for Whirlpools warranty. If this is under warranty and it is exclusive to Lowes then they should be having Lowes bring a new one and install it.

We bought this refrigerator because it was the only panel ready one we could find. When it was delivered the two doors did not line up. There was an adjustment that could be made but it required that Whirlpool had to do it. We made an appointment and was told it would cost $179 for the adjustment!! This for a refrigerator we had just purchased for several thousand dollars. The service person showed up and after working on the refrigerator he could not balance the doors. He blamed it on uneven floor, misaligned cabinets – anything he could say to shift the blame from Whirlpool. We called and complained again. They sent out another service person. He was just as useless as the first one. Told us to even out the doors we would need to shim the refrigerator which he would not do. Complained to Whirlpool with no results. Finally hired someone not affiliated with Whirlpool who was able to get the doors to be aligned. Never Never buy a Whirlpool/Kitchen Aid Appliance. It has a 9-year warranty (after 1 yr.- parts only). What failed was the Gas Control/thermostat unit, and it takes a HVAC-trained person to replace it. Yes, theyd send the part - free, but required me to pay for installation. Talking with an HVAC business owner, he said hes replaced about 30 of these and he surmised that Whirlpool KNOWS that nationwide, over 10,000 needed replacement yet Whirlpool cares less. Bought a Whirlpool refrigerator from Best Buy a yr 1/2 ago. Went wrong from delivery and never stopped! There isnt enough room here to specify so Ill try to synopsis this. They screwed up delivery date and then time. Fridge was unbalanced, doors wouldnt close delivery guys didnt know what to do. Tried to fix it and then call their office and were put on hold for over 30 mins. And the Rep was unhelpful and rude to me and then the delivery guys finally got door shut on freezer but Ice maker wouldnt work so they said they would have to have someone Whirlpool to fix it after them talking and being on hold again with their Rep. They were upset and late and felt sorry for me and told me Confidentially That this was not uncommon and they would do what they could to help me.It took many calls, people and conversations (subsequently I found dents, drawers cracked, cracks in back wall) for them to get someone here. When they did the guy was rude and acted like a pre-programmed robot. He said, Show me whats wrong and I did. He stood there and just stared at me and said, I dont see anything wrong. I was shocked! I said, You mean thats supposed to shower the kitchen with crushed ice, etc? He said YES! I said, Ok, please leave my home. I will contact Whirlpool and Best Buy Again. I did and it went on and on and on and to this day theyve done nothing. I have copious notes, dates, names etc. I have also heard many other complaints about both companies and will never do business with either again and will tell anyone and everyone I meet.

I was so thankful that I had snow on my deck to keep everything cold. I had several family members in my house and watching my husband defrost a frost-free frig? This was a nightmare. Then a few weeks later, my husband company refrigerators did the same thing: freeze up and stop working. He defrosted theirs as well.I know that lots of consumers have had the same issue with any of the bottom freezer refrigerator doing the same thing. I think we, consumers, should make these company recall these lemons. Why should we have to pay more and buy more our parents had their appliances last for years. He had done this approximately 3 times since my warranty ended in September of last year. The problem is the food goes bad, the freezer ices up, causing the refrigerator to ice up and stop the air flow.I contacted the company and this is what they told me: I had to pay $295.12 to get the repair completed. It was the DEF control board. I guess others have the compressor go out and that cost over $600 to fix. Why is it our fault as a consumer buying their products promised and concern for 1 year, not 10 years. It is no wonder why America is broke? My question to the Whirlpool was, how on earth can this be the consumers fault? Here is their reply:According to the model and serial number provided, we do not indicate that there are any known recalls with this particular model. A recall requires that a product poses a threat to a persons life or health. Since this is not the case in this instance, we do not have a recall. Once a product warranty has expired, any costs for maintenance, service, or component replacements are then within the owners time frame of responsibility. Taking this into consideration, I regret to inform you that due to the age of the product, we will be unable to assist with the cost of the repair. If you have purchased an extended warranty, we would recommend contacting your extended warranty provider directly to discuss the options they provide.Oh, they sent me a postcard asking if the repair service I received was good... Yes, the company who came out did a fantastic job. I think I may have to call them back; it is acting up again. I have 90 day warranty....

I purchased a dishwasher from Menards. It was a top of the line Whirlpool Dishwasher. We ordered new cabinets for a kitchen upgrade and when the cabinets arrived they were damaged during Thanksgiving holiday. We purchased the dishwasher and it sat in our garage until the second set of cabinets arrived in mid January.Once the GC installed the new cabinets we noticed a small dent in the front of the stainless steel dishwasher. I notified Whirlpool and they took my model and serial number. The supervisor April said there is nothing that I can do. You passed the 30 day cosmetic warranty. I explained the issue to her and she didnt seem to care. The dishwasher sat in the garage for 7-8 weeks. This is not the consumers fault. This company could of sent a service mechanic out and replaced the front panel. But she chose to ready some meaningless policy to me. I will never buy a Whirlpool product again, and I will tell everyone about the poor and unprofessional service that Whirlpool offers.

We purchased this washer and dryer new in 2011. Have repaired door to washer twice. New doors total cost $500.00 each time. Now it is cracked yet again and the dryer door has to be adjusted. The temp does not work right. Have to do minimum of 2 cycles for drying. Very unhappy. We may as well buy a new set of another make. Tired of the expensive repairs.

It seems that it gets scratch only by looking at it. This refrigerator is very expensive and I not even done paying for it and this appliance looks awful!! Susan the person that I was chatting with just told me that cosmetic doesnt cover and there is nothing that Whirlpool can do about. It bothers me that paying so much money for something that it is poor quality material.

Refrigerator model LFFU17F5HWD - For 2 years it worked, but with problems - always frosting over. I called a service tech and they said it was a common problem, but to find a service tech to come and look at it. The cost for that was $250.00 and still no fix. Now it quit working completely. I was always told by my dad that Whirlpool was the best - maybe true, 30 years ago. I know one thing if I have to buy another refrigerator - it wont be a Whirlpool. You do stand up to your name Whirlpool of trouble. If anyone reads this, please take my advice and do not buy a Whirlpool. I have a washer and dryer thats Whirlpool too. They work but I wont have anything in my house that says Whirlpool on it. Its too bad that they were a great product at one time. Consumer Reports should do something about this company or the BBB. Im so mad I cant even spell well. Thats my 2 cents on Whirlpool of crap.

We bought a Whirlpool Washing machine a couple of years ago. We have been having problems. It does not get the clothes clean and laundry has an odor to it. We bought it at HHGreg by the Dayton mall in Centerville, Ohio and also bought the extended warranty. It was the largest capacity machine they had in Whirlpool so I dont need to mention what we spent for this thing. We have had a service tech out 3 times. The first time he replaced a part. It still didnt fix it. So they were out two other times saying nothing was wrong with it. Not only is it not getting the clothes clean, but is putting lint pieces all over the laundry. The warranty place already said if they come out again and they cannot find out what is wrong, then we would have to pay for the service call. We then went to the store we bought the machine and talked to the manager. We got no help from him. All he did was throw us back to the warranty place. Not to mention, the family is having itching problems with their skin because the clothes are not only not getting clean but the soap is not rinsing out. In other words, we are suppose to eat this expense and move on. This is a new machine!!!!! And all it is worth is taking it to a metal place to scrap out!!!!! We will never buy another Whirlpool product again. It is really **. They don’t back their products up and do the consumer right. There are a lot of complaints online about the same identical thing I am writing about. They should reimburse the people the money that they wasted. Thank you.

I purchased a top load Whirlpool washer from Lowes 2-8-12. It got so it wouldnt rinse. When it came to that cycle, it just skipped it and went directly to spin. I dont know how long it was doing this before I caught it. A repairman came out said I would need the equivalent of a motherboard that would cost $330.00. Needless to say, couldnt afford that amount for repair. So I purchased a very nice used Amana for $100.00. I always thought Whirlpool was a top of the line product. This has changed my mind. If it wont last any longer than 5 years I dont want it. There are just the two of us and we are retired so the machine was not overused. I am so disappointed and angry about this.

After 6 years, Our $2500 Whirlpool refrigerator stopped cooling and would not dispense ice. Since we had purchased a Whirlpool extended warranty, a Whirlpool authorized technician replaced the compressor and informed Whirlpool it also required a new door that included an ice dispenser. A door was not available so Whirlpool refused additional repair and refunded the $400 purchase price of the warranty. Meanwhile the refrigerator stopped cooling again and Whirlpool refused any additional obligation. The refrigerator was now non-functional and we had to spend $3500 to get a comparable refrigerator. The moral: 1) Whirlpool makes very expensive refrigerators that have about 30% of the life-span compared to earlier vintage refrigerators. 2) They know this and will promptly refuse to warrant their product if it is to their benefit. Shame on you Whirlpool for using your corporate leverage and shady business practices to manipulate your customers.

We purchased a Whirlpool side by side from Lowes and an extended warranty. Immediately maybe a month the ice maker froze. Ice container in the door. Repairman said design is notorious for this problem. This was an ongoing problem. They replaced icemaker and it continued. Finally the warranty people told me it could be deemed a lemon if repaired for the same issue 4 times in a year. They deemed it a LEMON and I received a store credit for the purchase price less the warranty amount. I purchased a new LG French door. No issues and its been 5 years. If you have an extended warranty do some checking on the lemon.

Read reviews on the same washer (Cabrio Whirlpool) that I had purchased in January 2017. I have the same problem everyone else has with it, not cleaning the clothes. It was such a disappointment. Had a Whirlpool front in loader for 15 years. Loved it! But the washing machines without the agitator on it is a laugh. What person thought up that design. What a joke on the poor unknowing people that purchased one. Im also upset at G&H Appliances for not standing by their products they sell. Found out that Lowes has a 30 day satisfaction guarantee on what they sell. Not buying from Lowes and buying a washer without on agitator on it. Was two big mistakes I made. I wanted to help out a small local business, but wont be doing that again. They sure are not worried about me.

I purchased a 29 cu ft Whirlpool French Door refrigerator (WRF990SLAM) Feb, of 2013 from Lowes and have had nothing but problems since I purchased it. First, I noticed that the fridge sounded louder than normal. Then a few months later, ice started building up in back of the fridge. Then the most craziest thing ever started happening, the water dispenser started randomly shooting out water. Lastly, the ice maker takes forever to make ice. Still to this day, Whirlpool has yet to fix the problem. Funny that the technician said that theyve received a lot of complaints regarding the same issue for this model...so, I say you should be able to fix it then or replace my fridge. I have a 2yr extended warranty which states if they cannot fix my fridge after 3 attempts then they have to replace it. They refuse to honor that. Whirlpool and Lowes are full of crap!!! Whirlpool doesnt care at all that their products are crappy and their service is bad. They sent me a survey asking how do I like my product and I informed them of my issues and they sent me a response to purchase an extended warranty. Now, if they really reviewed the surveys, they would see that I have an extended warranty for 2yrs but regardless of that what about the issues Im having with my fridge? Do you not see my comments? If you didnt care you shouldnt even bother asking. Lowes pretended to care and made me believe they were going to replace my fridge but then sided with Whirlpool and said that they have to make 3 unsuccessful attempts to fix the fridge but each attempt has to be 30 days apart. Thats a bunch of crap because its been 6 months and my fridge still has not been fixed or replaced!! I have a Samsung side by side that I bought a year before Whirlpool and never had a problem with it. I bought it from Home Depot also, along with a stove microwave and dishwasher. I will be sticking with Samsung and Home Depot from now on!

I purchased this Whirlpool washer (model WTW7600XW2) on October 2011. Fabric softener dispenser is full of water at end of cycle. Repairman has replaced parts three times, but the problem is still not corrected. Today, I talked with a Whirlpool supervisor. She says this is normal. She told me to take the cup out and empty it. The cup is not removable, so she said I could blot it out with a cloth or sponge. I paid $800.00 for a washer with an automatic fabric dispenser that I must empty manually. After 18 months, the dryer just quit. The best part is, we hang clothes out most of the time. It was used one winter, $1400 wasted. We purchased this washer in 2017, its the top loading Cabrio washer and it has been nothing but junk since day one. Purchased from RC Wiley in Boise and unfortunately did not buy the extended warranty because we trusted that this American company would make a washer that would last longer than 3 yrs. This washer barely washes clothes, leaves a residue on them since there is no agitator, also constantly gets unbalanced or gives and error of LF which means water supply issue when there isnt one. My 15 yr old about has a heart attack when he uses the quick setting and his clothes arent done in an hour and a half. Ive even resorted to turning the thing on to just rinse and spin so things get done sooner, still the stupid washer just sits. I would sell it but I dont want to pass on the pain, so its going to the dump to or to Goodwill cause its not worth the headache. Too bad you cant trust an American company to make a good product. Sad I really wanted to like this washer.

My Whirlpool Cabrio washer (WTW6600SG2) is a money pit! After reading all of the nightmare stories concerning this washer one would think Whirlpool would offer a recall and try to correct their wrong doing. Do not buy a Whirlpool Cabrio. It was the worst decision I have ever made! Whirlpool does not stand behind their products. I cant believe they can get away with treating their customers so unfairly, taking their hard earned money for crap like this, then not offering to help after so many have had issues. The Cabrio is loud, doesnt get clothes clean, and is always flashing UL for uneven load (when it works at all). My local repairman has made many trips to fix my problem Cabrio. I purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator in 2014. It is a side by side with ice maker in the door. About 8 month ago the ice machine stopped working. I called an appliance repair center and they diagnosed the problem as being the control board for the ice machine. After only 3 years this stopped working? I gave them to OK to fix it. A few days later I was informed that the part is on backorder for a few months. Well a few months has become 6 months and no part is available. I contacted Whirlpool and they called me and promised a solution, but then they never contacted me again. So it is almost 7 months later and I still have no ice. How can a relatively newer product break down and then not have a part available? Whirlpool absolutely does NOT care about their customers and does NOT back their products. Stay away at all costs.

Now it has an obstruction in the Freon lines that causes it to freeze up and not cool. I contacted a reputable local appliance company who diagnosed the motherboard was not functioning on the appliance. They ordered a new one from Whirlpool and replaced it. Forty-five days later, the replacement motherboard stopped functioning. When I contacted Whirlpool directly to inform them what was happening, they continually stated that the appliance company was not part of Whirlpools approved appliance technicians, and offered no assistance in guaranteeing the problem will not continue to happen. Purchased top loading Whirlpool Washer WTW5000DW0 10/12/2015 at Best Buys, first no agitator machine for us. Two weeks later I call for repair service because of the noise from tub. Explained in other reviews as earthquake or jet engines. The machine is in the garage and can be heard through the walls into the house. Repair tells this is normal for the machine and it must be our first none agitator machine.I then purchased a extended warranty policy through Whirlpool. 12/13/2016 machine no longer washing clothes. Call Whirlpool for service. Repair came out 01/17/2017 (a month later). Washer plate had to be replaced. The gear was completely shredded. Not in stock, waited 2 weeks to get repaired. Tension springs on outer tub replaced at same time. Was told the excessive grinding and bumping of the tub was not the reason for the gear shredding.06/30/2017 same problem, I set a repair date 07/01/2017 between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. No one shows and no call. I call Whirlpool and they are sorry and set the appointment the same day for before 5:00 p.m. No one shows our calls. I call back. Already closed. I call the next day. Sets a new date 07/05/2017, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Same problem. I called back speak to a supervisor who says hell get to problem and find out whats wrong. Sets a new date 07/08/2017 8:00 to 12:00 p.m. 07/07/2017 I get a call after 5:00 p.m. that the repairman is not available and can we reset for 07/13/2017. I hung up and called back the next day and spoke to a supervisor I had previously spoke with. He called an outside repair company that Whirlpool uses in this area. New date 07/12/2017. Repairman shows and I explain the washer plate was loose again and I smelled metal burning. I had told my wife to continue to use the machine to wash the clothes. The repairman tells me I voided the warranty by doing this. Im standing in the garage while he has his head in the machine trying to get the washer plate out. He shuts the lid and turns the machine on wash/spin says the machine is ok. We have an exchange of words and tell him I want to see the washer plate gears. He says he cant get the plate out now and I wasnt there for him to show it to me. This continued until he forced the plate off. He called Tech Support to say I voided the warranty. He told them customer claims loud noises and banging. I asked to speak to Tech but he tells me they dont speak with the customer. I looked at the gears on the washer plate and the transmission. Both had metal shavings. He tells me he is going to do me a favor and replace both. Its supposed to take a week. Wait and see. I have asked for a replacement or money for the machine through Whirlpool. I was told there has to be at least 4 repair requests for the same problem and the repairman has to determine that there is a problem or that its a lemon. I will not recommend or purchase another Whirlpool product.
