I bought this Maytag Dryer in May 23, 2015. I had nothing but problems. I had 4 techs come out and say different reasons why it does not work. I had the vent exhaust clean out. Still not working, the one tech said there was not enough clothes for the dryer to sense it wet. I did a huge load, still doesn’t work. The sensor for the vent keeps popping up and it’s cleaned. I have to pull it out and in to get the signal light out. Cant turn on the machine. It still does not work. I tried contacting Lowe’s, since I bought an additional services plan. They said I have to call every thirty days for three months. That means I have to take my time out of work and wait for a tech for three months to get make a complaint and TRY to get new one. I really disappointed with Maytag and Lowe’s. I have a tech coming out this Monday, 11/23/2015 for another services call. I will never buy at Lowe’s or Maytag again. How many times does a certified tech from Maytag have to come out check a brand new dryer?

I purchased a Maytag Bravo Washer and Dryer about 2 years ago; dissatisfied with the products. Washer continues to smell. I clean it all the time with the Affresh tablets. Usually, I have to use 2 bags just to get it not to smell for at least 2 weeks. Now, the glass front dryer is rusting out around the window.

I would have given this washer/dryer a 0 star, but wasnt able to. Bought the pair and first thing, couldnt get enough water in the tub, clothes wallowing around for an hour in the few cups of dirty water that it allows. Cant even believe how terrible this combo washer and dryer is! Now I get to wash everything in this piece of ____ twice, thank you Maytag! Just took out a load and it is dingy and stinks, so now its wet, on the floor waiting its turn to go back for another wash (possibly even a third). If you want clean clothes, do NOT get this washer. Dryer has issues also. For whatever reason, the AF signal has been on for a couple of months. Turn it off and back on and its okay for a bit, then back on. Its the Air Filter. Its not plugged, so I dont know, I just keep using it with intervals of resetting it altogether. What a total waste of money. Am going to give it away for free as soon as I find a replacement! Save yourself a huge headache and look elsewhere than Maytag. Oh, and if Maytag happens to read my review, you can contact me for a refund any time, just respond to this post, you can even come pick it up and get it out of my home. Thanks a bunch!

I have now owned my highly efficient and low-cost to operate washing machine for 6 years. It is a top loader and uses HC detergents. This means the washer needs minimal soap to clean the clothes. I especially appreciate the different types of loads such as deep cleaning or regular cleaning. The washer has sensors that evaluate the size of the load and thus only utilize the amount of water necessary. I really like the quietness and being able to get the very best wash because the washer does exactly what it needs to do. It has more than been the appliance that I had hoped for. Love it! It maintains itself.

All of my brand new white wash cloths have black stains on them. They look like mechanics use them to check the oil. And, my white denim capri pants have weird stains on them. This washing machine is a joke. It may be water efficient, but sacrifices cleanliness and stain removal. Maytag should recall this ** Queen.

Maytag washer Purchased December 2016. Washer is very slow: runs 1 hour plus. Wash takes a VERY long time. Small load only. Heavy loads go to Laundromat. Maytag does not clean clothes, always MUSTY smelling. Cycle OFTEN does not drain tub And forced to use Drain, Spin cycle to drain tub. Wrinkle cycle ties clothes in knots. Using AFRESH to clean tub makes no difference in foul odor. One service call, error codes found, computer reset. Repairman said that the MACHINE WORKS AS DESIGNED. Repairman said that any tiny bit of debris can cause washer to clog and fail to drain. At best clothes always wet, slow to dry. My old Whirlpool washed any sized load. Clothes always clean and fresh. I used laundry only when we had power outage. LIKELY WILL PUT THIS ON THE CURB. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS MACHINE.

I bought my Bravos washer (Maytag Bravos Model # MVWX700XL2) back in 2013. Worst mistake ever, First off the clothes never came out clean, regardless of how diligent I was following the directions on how to use this particular type of machine. Secondly, it started going off balance for every load if I put more than 4 pieces of clothing in. 2 months after having it recently repaired AGAIN for not spinning and going off balance, it is doing it again. It is only 4 years old! I bought it for the Maytag reputation, but now I am doubting that reliability.

Bought a Maytag 4000 series washer and dryer combo for about 2100 dollars in October 2011. Had a professional look at it today since the clothes stayed wet after the spin cycle. Told us it would cost 1000 dollars to repair the washing machine. So a total write-off in barely four years. I am very disappointed.

We bought Maytag refrigerator MTB2195 AEW in 2006 for a hefty sum. The store where it was purchased was closed. The place where it was serviced was closed. We have had seals replaced, fixed, etc. twice. The freezer is full of ice balls hanging. The refrigerator doesnt keep as cold as it should and stays steamed on glass. I had a repairman again today and was told that he cant fix it. The frame will not stay tight. Theres a 3/8 in. drop from left side to right. It cant seal properly. You have always been a great product. Whats happening here? What can you do for me; Im at wits end. I have an older refrigerator in the basement thats 26 years old and is still going strong. I need something done quickly as I dont want to wrangle with this ice any longer and shouldnt have to. Please give me your attention on this as soon as possible. Kathy

Maytag microwave MMV4205BAB - I purchased this microwave in 2007. By 2009, the whole inside was peeling down to the metal. Under the glass plate, the bottom is all rusted. Ive called customer service every year since 2009 and they say the same thing. No extended warranty, nothing they can do. They acknowledged that this was not normal, but they did nothing! Do not buy anything from Maytag. If you do, buy all of the expensive warranties or you will be sorry like I am.

Weve always bought Maytag, but this is our last time. The washer is just a piece of junk. It uses very little water and the agitator does not work. The clothes end up at the bottom in a ball. The water level is so low sometimes my clothes arent even wet. As I type this it has been stuck in the rinse cycle for 2 hours. It just keeps repeating. Maytag should have to replace everyone of the BRAVOS XL washers. I am no longer a loyal customer. I might as well go down to the river and beat my clothes on a rock. At least they would be cleaner. Shame on you Maytag!!!

I bought this Maytag dishwasher model # MDB7749SBM2 and of course it ran great until the warranty was up and then the touch pad started acting up where if you would press normal every other thing would light up. I replaced the keypad and then the controller and its working at this point again. The keypad ribbon cable had a big burn mark in it and by all these complaints it seems like an issue Maytag has and does not want to address. Luckily I work on electrical and was able to do this myself and I had no labor but over $300.00 in parts. What upsets me is I bought because of the reputation and the Made in America on it and it was replacing a 20 yr old Kenmore that was still working great when I took it out. With all the complaints about the same issue Maytag which is Whirlpool would step up to the plate and fix this. No more Maytags/Whirlpool for me again.

The entire back of the dryer is clean and free of lint, the hose on the back, and the ventilation pipe running out of the house are completely clear, but the dryer continues breaking down. March 31, 2013 a Maytag front loader washer series 2000 was purchased. In January an error code E4 and F3 kept stopping the washer. Service replaced some minor part, worked for a week. Then service replaced a circuit board - worked fine for a few months. About June of 2014 the codes came up again. This time Service wants 430.00 for a 700.00 dollar washer to fix a continuing issue. So I decided not to spend the money. I could buy another washer, different brand of course, and try and fix it myself. I removed the top and the bottom front covers. The 3 wires going into the circuit board that was replaced were loose, barely plugged in. The catch all at the very bottom right had derbies and coin in it, cleaned that out. Looked at the motherboard with a magnifying glass. It had no bad solders, cracks or burn marks, so I proceeded to run my hands around the entire drum inside... and in the back side where you can’t really see were some more loose wires.... tightened them. Now with the spin rpms you can understand how things shake loose, I always look for the common sense issues.... I am currently on my third wash load. It runs smoother and quieter than it did when it was first installed. Point is the Maytag service sucks and with only a year warranty from the manufacturer. What did I have to lose to try and fix it myself. I am sure this is happening with a lot of other people. The odds of a motherboard or a circuit board going bad in such a short time made no sense. So check all the wiring FIRST. Make sure everything is securely plugged in. I would not recommend anyone buy a Maytag or Whirlpool (owns Maytag) for their reliability or service.

I have always thought of Maytag being the quality manufacturer of appliance products. We purchased a Maytag microwave (MMV4205DH-1) and after just two years it has begun to give us grief (we are in our early 70s, no family at home, so appliance receives medium usage). We constantly get the open/door message when we are trying to set the timer for operation. We open and close, open and close, etc. Just yesterday my wife noticed a slight crack on the door just below the handle, most likely due to frequent open and closing. Went online and read a number of reviews and found many others have had same or similar issues. Done with Maytag.

After buying this dishwasher model MDB6759WWW3 in Jan. 2010, I fully expected it to work longer than it did! So far, the control panel has been replaced 5 times. The last time was Sept. 17, 2012 and already it is out again. I talked with Customer Service, since Georgia has a lemon law. After 4 times it is to be replaced. They had no record of the part that was replaced, just that a technician had come and repaired (by ordering the same part they had no knowledge of). This time they will either replace or instead of me calling, my lawyer will call. I will never buy another Maytag product and will encourage anyone else not to buy either. My daughter had the same experience with a refrigerator, a piece of junk they did nothing about. By the way, I have an extended warranty plan, which should not even be necessary!

MAYTAG BRAVO QUIET SERIES 400 - Do not buy. Piece of junk. I have bought Maytags for years, but they really messed up on these. First I had a new dress in the washer... It ripped it all the way down the back. Last month my dryer went out. It was the heating element. When the Maytag opened up the dryer, all the lint had been going into the dryer casing instead out to the vent. The whole inside of the dryer was packed with lint... It was around the motor and was a major fire hazard. The Maytag man said it was the worst he had seen in his 30 years. This month my washer starts making real loud noises when it spins. Sometimes I have to run it through another spin. Then it just quit. It wont do anything at all. You hear the motor like it is hung... It just hums. You have to unplug it to get it to stop. Maytag repairman said it was the bearings ($300.00 at least) and the computer board had gone out. The repairman said it would cost more than to just go buy a new one. The Maytag repairman himself told me whatever you do, do not buy another Maytag... Now that is sad!!! I grew up with Maytag. My mothers washers lasted at least fifteen years. This is my fourth and last set of Maytags after these!!!

Our oven is 3 years old and the last time I used the self clean option caused the control panel to malfunction. Now we have to buy a new panel. The repair guy online advises people not to use the self clean as this is a common problem!!! What? I cant use that feature? That is so ridiculous!!! Now we have to pay $300. Horrific, useless, inconsiderate, rude, discourteous, arrogant and banal! I bought a brand new washer and dryer. The dryer is steam type and defective and they will not exchange, despite never being used. Nowhere am I committed to an agreement saying that the machine will not be replaced if it is defective. I am getting the run-around from the store, the manufacturer and the service technicians that didnt even arrive with tools when they came to evaluate the problem. If I had my way, I would return the washer and dryer and change manufacturers. But it is a stacking unit and I used the washer which commits me to it! Maytag, Whirlpool, JennAir and KitchenAid are all the same company. I am running out of options except going to the European manufacturers! Miele will at least install the appliances. They will be my next machines and I will not have to pay a plumber twice to install them the next time!

I purchased this machine (Maytag Bravos XL MVWX700XL2 ) about 18 months ago. I was so excited with the looks and the reviews I found on the machine at that time. For the first 14 months I was happy. All of a sudden, it has become the washer from Hades! It twists and almost ruins my clothing. Not to mention, I think it is permanent wrinkles that it puts into things. I washed our comforter on Bulky. The part that must have been at the bottom is completely wrinkled and it also wrecked all of the fill. This was a comforter that it is supposed to be fine to put in the washer. I am attaching pictures in which you can almost plainly see where the comforter was at the bottom. I had a serviceman out a few weeks ago. He said Maytag knows that there is a problem, however, there is no service bulletin that is out yet on it. In addition, he ran all of the codes and told me there is nothing wrong with my machine. That must be why I have to iron almost every piece of clothing in this house. Maytag will hopefully give me decent customer service on this, or I will come unglued. For the price of this washing machine, I expected much more.

On August 25, 2011, we purchased a Maytag washing machine (Model Number MVVYC400XW2) at the Lowes Saugus, MA, store. Initially, we had no performance problems with it; however, on January 12, 2012, the washing machine wouldnt start. That day, I called Maytag for service on the machine, and it was fixed. Then on August 18, 2012, the same thing happened. A serviceman was called for the second time, and was repaired. Ironically, the Maytag 1- year warranty was expiring on August 24.Prior to the expiration of the Maytag warranty, I had been contacted by mail about an extended warranty plan, which I thought was being offered by Maytag, which it wasnt. The offer was being made by Federal Warranty Service Corporation. I purchased a 5-year extended warranty, expiring on August 25, 2017, the reason to have coverage for what seems to be a faulty machine. I would probably need it.Dealing with Federal Warranty has been nothing but grief. In 2012, the washing machine, had required 3 service calls, one with a Supervisor explaining my frustration with the number of service calls I have had made for the washing machine, but nothing has changed. Thus far in 2013, I have made two (2) additional calls for service on the same washing machine. Not only are there the numerous service calls made but the inconvenience of not having a washing machine, and the additional costs for outside laundering, during that time has to be taken into consideration. Additionally, my wife is 68 years old, and Im 71 (72 in August). Going up and down the stairs to the basement isnt something we should be doing, especially to find an inoperable washing machine.

Thats right. We bought it in September 2010, and it worked fine for two years. This week, our Maytag (Model: MDB7609AWW2) simply stopped turning on. The appliance repair guy pointed out that Maytag has a horrible record which the new owners (Whirlpool) do not seem to be concerned with because even though they know these electronics are dying very quickly, the replacement parts are exactly the same (unchanged). The cost to replace the suspected failed parts is somewhere around $250. The repair guy just said, I can do it, but its going to break again. His suggestion is to shop for the cheapest dishwasher out there since even the most expensive ones fail so quickly. This particular model has a huge amount of the same complaints.

Like so many others, I now discover, we are having a ridiculously frustrating problem with our Maytag dishwasher, bought one and a half years ago. Last week, the control panel stopped working -- we press normal and a whole bunch of other lights come on; try to press other cleaning options and entirely different ones light up again. Sometimes we can get it, with luck, to quick wash or super clean and thus have our dishes cleaned (which the machine never did that effectively anyway); sometimes we cant. I havent called the company yet, but given what Ive read, Im unsure if it would do any good. Judging from all the similar comments, Maytag is clearly selling a radically inferior product and care nothing much about this. We will surely never, ever buy another one of their products.

I replaced fuse and 30 days later, it blew again. I replaced it again and now, March 2013, 6 months later, the same thing; the thermo fuse blew, no heat. The vent is clean and air flow is very good. Maytag will not admit a problem. This is not an inexpensive dryer; it may be cheap, but not inexpensive. Maytag quality appears to have vanished. I have Maytag throughout the house but will think twice before purchasing Maytag again. Chinese produced parts/products are inferior. Maybe Ill look at Bosch or LG from now on.

If there was a zero star rating available, that is what I would select! We purchased this range along with a complete kitchen ensemble for a remodel of our kitchen in December of 2011. Within a few months of purchase the enamel finish started blistering, flaking and peeling. Upon contacting Whirlpool Corp about the problem through their online chatline, email, regular mail and phone, we were informed (quite rudely I might add) that Whirlpool does not warranty cosmetic deficiencies over 30 days after product purchase. This is American Quality?? Since this has occurred the retirement home we are building will have no Whirlpool Corp products in it which includes: Maytag, Whirlpool, KitchenAid, Amana, Jenn-Air, Brastemp, Consul, Bauknecht, Gladiator, or any of the product lineup from the Chinese company Hefei Sanyo which they are buying. The attached photos were taken in May of 2012 and since that time the product finish has only exponentially deteriorated.

Both of these are only 2 1/2 years old.

We purchased the Maytag front loader Neptune washer and dryer set in 2006.
We purchased the Maytag front loader Neptune washer and dryer set in 2006. Since then, the washer violently vibrates during the spin cycle - moving out of place and requiring me to move it manually. A certified Maytag technician came out to fix it and could not. The Maytag representative I spoke with said the circuit board is known to be defective and Maytag has not given any direction on how to fix, but that the board is irreparable at that time (in addition to the mold smell that emits from the washer despite the fixes for this). The old washers also used to have a coin receptacle so that any coins that were left in pockets went into the coin receptacle instead of into the pump area. This protected the pump assembly. But to cut costs, they took that coin receptacle out. This causes any coins or other possible things that fall out of the pocket to go into the pump area, getting lodged in there and requiring a costly replacement for the part in addition to costly labor. This washer does not do the best job in the spin cycle because it vibrates so much, leaving a lot of excess water in the clothes. I have also smelled a burning smell when doing loads that suggests there may be electrical issues that could cause a fire hazard. Then there is the dryer. The Maytag Neptune front load dryer has design issue with the electrical assembly. We smelled a burning smell and unplugged it. After taking apart the front cover, the heating coils had set on fire excess lint that had gotten into the heating assembly. In addition, the coil snapped in half, possibly causing a short in the wiring. This also caused other electrical issues that are causing more money to fix. In addition, this is the second time we have dealt with electrical issues with the dryer that have cost us over $400 to fix, including having to replace the drum because it was cracked. Lint and other items seems to get into the very important electrical areas of the dryer due to a faulty design in the lint tray, because the lint goes right through a hole into the areas where the heater coils are, which caused the burning smell in our dryer. In my opinion, both these machines could be very good machines if they were not made so cheaply and if they put good quality into the machines. They dont seem to be worth the price and the support is not there. Even more frustrating, the company does not stand behind the product, leading me to believe that they know about these problems, but dont want to fix them when they go bad. This can pose a hardship for families waiting for two weeks for parts while their dryers or washers are broken. Not to mention the enormous repair costs after the warranty has expired. Try to get them to replace something on the warranty and you have even more problems.

This all was noticed almost immediately after purchase, but we lived with it trying not to believe our worse fears. That is until we both started breaking out with skin rashes. Just logged on this site after a Google search... We were shocked and disappointed in our purchase decision. We will join in a class action lawsuit if ever one is initiated... We purchased a Maytag Front Load Washer in April 2011. We did not purchase an extended warranty. From the beginning, it didnt seem to clean as well as our 12 year old top load Whirlpool had. Then in Summer 2013 it began to create fabric pulls in fine fabrics - tablecloths, blouses, etc. Whirlpool sent a repairman who charged $90 to tell us that the drum needed to be replaced because of a rough spot. He ordered a new drum and we understood that it would be replaced because it was within the 5 year manufacturers warranty on drums, but we would have to pay for installation. 2 months later, Whirlpool informed us they could not supply the new drum. Why are replacement parts not available for a 2 year old machine? The customer service rep told me that they would replace the machine for 15 percent of the cost of a new machine. All I needed to do would be to pick out a machine and let customer service know the model number and they would make arrangements and contact me re: payment of the 15%. When I contacted them again I was told that I would be expected to pay $508.00. That is 15% of a $3000.00 machine. It it completely unfair. Later, I was told that the first rep I spoke to must have been wrong because they dont pro rate replacements on a percentage basis. I told them that I was not interested and they have lost a good Whirlpool customer. In the last 15 years we have purchased 7 appliances made by Whirlpool. Never again! I am not impressed by their customer service.

We purchased the Maytag Bravos XL MCT washer and dryer in July of 2013 and have been completely and totally dissatisfied with every use since. We immediately contacted the store where we purchased them and were told we had to contact Maytag. We contacted Maytag on numerous occasions only to be read ridiculous solutions from a notebook that were no different than the instructions in the users manual and never worked. We had our first set of washer (with agitator) and dryer for 23 wonderful years. The washer absolutely does not work. The decision to remove the agitator and reduce the water levels is absurd. The soap does not get distributed, the lack of water causes loads of clothes or sheets to get rolled up into tight balls with no hope of being cleaned, and the spin cycle is so powerful it rips your clothes apart unnecessarily. The dryer is smaller than the washer and cannot handle the same size load the washer can put out and typically requires more than one cycle to complete a drying. All in all this has been the most painful experience we have ever had with any appliance. We are completely dissatisfied with both the store where we purchased these units and the complete and total lack of response from Maytag after requesting either of them to take back these units or make some equitable adjustment so we could purchase different units. We have reached a point where we will most likely store these Maytag units in the garage and purchase a new washer and dryer, being forced to accept the financial loss.

We bought our Legacy Washer and Dryer from Home Depot in December, 2005. Luckily we also bought the one year warranty, because in January 2006, our washer quit running. We called Home Depot, we got the runaround and I think Maytag sent someone out. When he tipped the washing machine over, a belt was off. He said it happens. The next year, something else went wrong with the washing machine (not under warranty anymore) and I paid $129 for that visit. Three weeks ago, the spin dry quit doing a good job on the extended spin cycle. Tonight, I put a load of clothes in and though the washer sounded like it was agitating the clothes, when I lifted the top I saw it was just noise, no agitating. I cannot afford the service call, let alone the whole repair or a new washer.

I purchased my Bravos washer in 2011. Three days before the warranty was up, the motor went out. It was leaking oil and had to be replaced. Two days later it quit working again I had to have another repairman out and found that the gear shifter had popped off so he put it back on and charged us 85.00. Luckily my husband watched him repair it and knew what to do if it happened again, which it does just about every 2 or 3 loads so I have to pull it out and pop the ring back on. I waste more water than I save with this machine. I have to drain the water so I can move the machine out and start all over because they didnt wash, and that wastes more soap. I would get laundry done cleaner and faster if I beat it against a rock. This is the worst washing machine I have ever owned and I will never buy a high efficiency washer or another Maytag again.

I purchased a Maytag Bravos washer and dryer combo 2.5 years ago. Six months in, I noticed that the washer would always stop halfway through the cycle. We had a repairman come out because it was under warranty and he said it just had to be reset. I then started to become weary of the product. The washer, that is larger than most, is still a problem today. The dryer, the last couple of months, has not dried clothes completely. Today the dryer just stopped. We have a similar problem to the others who gave reviews on their still NEW Maytag refrigerators. Ours isnt even four years old and several weeks ago we started smelling a chemical odor which then permeated all of our food in the refrigerator and freezer. We didnt buy the extended warranty because we have owned a few refrigerators and all have lasted just fine for 15+ years with no problems. So I called Maytag. They said for a charge of $369.95 they would schedule a repair and would cover the service call, parts and repair and provide an 12 month warranty. If the service call results in an inability to repair the refrigerator, they will refund the full amount of $369.95. So I asked if Maytag would then replace the refrigerator, and the rep said we have to start with the service call before they would discuss any type of refund or replacement. Im angry and disappointed in Maytag. Its a good thing we have a spare refrigerator in our basement. What a hassle! Weve already had to throw away over $100 in food that picked up that horrible odor. Shame on Maytag!

I called Maytag/Whirlpool to see if they would help with the cost of the part. I am 60 years old and the only one who uses the washing machine. It is not beat up. Maytag would not offer any solution at all and refused to even pay for any part of the control panel. They said it was really my tough luck for not having bought the extended warranty. I have always been an advocate for Maytag Appliances. Never bought anything beside Maytag. Our old Maytag refrigerator broke. Would cost too much to fix. So, we decided to buy new. We had the old white, which I was perfectly fine in buying again, however, white was super expensive. So, the salesperson persuaded us to purchase stainless steel. We got a pkg for close to $4000 all in June of 2016. Needless to say, these items have been called for repair within the 1 year warranty over half a dozen times, and have had to replace pieces that have just broken. My worst experience is the stove. I really do not like it at all. I feel the product is misleading. We wanted a self cleaning oven. It is the newest brand out there for what I consider a joke. It is the AquaLift Technology that does not clean anything. My old Maytag self cleaning oven cleaned far better than this. The same spots are in the oven. It just is worthless. I have addressed my frustration with Maytag where I was told that the oven is for the light user. Well, then you need to educate the people who sell your stuff, because I have a family I cook a lot. If this product was made for an apartment single person who does not cook then we should have been informed. Your product states Self Cleaning. Its not self cleaning!!! My frustration went up to the main office of Maytag where their resolution was to give me a discount on a new stove. What do I do with the one I have, and I was told I could sell it!!!! Really Maytag wow from a consumer that has always been a valued customer this is the level of service I get. I ended up purchasing an extended warranty on all Maytag products, because of my fear of something just breaking again. My advice to all is either buy a no named brand or buy something cheaper. Please folks if you have a family do not purchase these products. Its for people that just need a pretty display of appliances!!!

Why is no one doing anything about the crappy product that Maytag is puttin
Why is no one doing anything about the crappy product that Maytag is putting out. I am a single mom of 4 and I had to purchase a new refrigerator about 3 years ago. Spent a lot of money on this Maytag, approx. $1400 and it is now useless. I had nothing but issues with it from the time I got it. The bottom freezer kept icing up and then leaking all over my kitchen floor. I had to call a repair guy out, who charged arm and a leg and said it was fixed and 3 months later it was doing the same thing. Since I could not afford to pay ridiculous amount of money to repair it again (although I question what they said they fixed), I had to chop up the ice each month and take huge pieces outside and i had to keep towels always at the bottom of my fridge (yes very attractive) but it ruined my floor and carpet. Now all of a sudden the piece of junk just shut off and stopped working and keeps making this popping noise. Lights went out in front panel. So I had to call a service guy out again but this time I called an independent local guy that is not gonna rape you in charges like Maytag does and he told me to look into this that he has heard so many complaints that the front board with control button has been known to blow out the back circuit board, which is what happened. He told me that parts are MDs, so he would have to get another manufacturer and he heard that even with replacing both of them, it has been known to not work and Maytag takes NO responsibility at all for any of this. THIS IS WRONG. I cant afford to spend around $800 to now fix this or another $1,400 to buy a new one. So I am without a refrigerator. What a nightmare. MAYTAG, TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR CRAPPY PRODUCT. We are hard working people that spend our money and expect a good product. I also have an oven I bought and I can tell you it is a piece of crap too. I swear at it all of the time, as it takes forever to cook anything and the outside that is supposed to be stainless steel is all yoked up. It is like a tin can, looks horrible. I will never ever buy another Maytag product and I hope that ConsumerAffairs steps in and does something about this.

I purchased a Maytag dishwasher less than 2 years ago through Home Depot and did not purchase the extended warranty. The start button has stopped working and is not lighting up. I was referred by Pacific Sales, the appliance sales company at Home Depot, directly to Maytag to schedule repairs which I am willing to pay for. After a nearly hour long call between hold times and conversations I was told the service would be scheduled for Thursday or Friday of this week. As we were scheduling the appointment, I was told the computer for scheduling had gone down and to call the next day to schedule. I called next day and spoke with a customer service rep who said there was no record of my call the day before. I gave her all of my information, then she transferred me to another service person who then had no record of my two prior conversations. After giving my info to the this 3rd customer service representative, I learned that a repair could not be scheduled for over a week. I asked to speak with someone about my complaints and was told there was no one I could speak with but that she would pass on the complaint. I asked for a return call or email to confirm that my complaint was received and she said that I would not get that. I then asked for a free service call because of their poor customer service. This was of course denied. The dishwasher has been fine for the short period of time I have owned it but I wont buy another Maytag because of their poor customer service and because the dishwasher has a problem in less than two years. Worst Washer ever...hated it from day one of receiving it (but couldnt return because moving into new place, took awhile to get it installed, and by then the 30 day return window had lapsed, so now stuck with this piece of garbage!). Is ALWAYS off balance whenever you wash anything of weight (i.e.: towels, sheets, blankets etc.). It takes me close to 2 hrs to get these items washed because I have to keep starting and stopping it to try to get it to spin dry because it ALWAYS throws the items so is off bal. and wont spin. Then when you hit pause, adj. bal., & start it again, it starts REWASHING the items (instead of continuing on from where you left off), and sometimes when it cant balance in the spinning cycle it just shuts down making you think the full cycle is complete, only to open up the lid to find your clothes all sopping wet. Also, NONE of the cycles will get any of my clothes clean...it just uses so little water your clothes come out feeling grungy and still dirty. I have had to resort to ONLY using the BULKY cycle because it is the ONLY cycle that will use a higher water level (mainly because bulky items like towels will absorb the water so it needs to add more). With this cycle at least my clothes dont FEEL dirty when they are done washing! There is no way of knowing how much time is left on any of the cycles, which is a real problem when you have to start and stop it, because you really have no idea how far back it goes to start itself up all over again. There is just no way to time it, because it keeps messing up where you have to keep stopping/starting it, and then you have no idea of time frame. Never saw a machine built so UNUSER friendly!I will NEVER buy a MAYTAG washer again, and NEVER will I buy a washer unless it HAS the center agitator, and a control for water level. These HE washers are the worst, and unfortunately they are now the only washers being made, but without water, clothes just DO NOT ever get clean anymore no matter which fancy and expensive detergent you use. HE washers are HORRIFIC. I may just buy an old style used washer with the agitator... at least I wont be wasting energy to only wind up with STILL dirty clothes when using HE washers! FINAL NOTE: AVOID Maytag HE Washers at ALL COST! You will be sorry if you decide to purchase one!

I bought a brand new Maytag bottom freezer fridge in May 2005. The first thing to go was the timing switch. I lost all contents of the fridge and freezer. The next to go was the compressor. I emailed someone from customer service, who replied how happy they are to hear from me, and how I can call anytime. I called customer service, and spoke to a supervisor. The fridge was built in the USA, but cannot tell me where the parts are from. No one seems to get, that I am disgusted that an appliance would last only as long as the warranty lasts. Oh, and the repairs are only covered for 90 days. My parents have a 62 year old RCA chest freezer that is still going strong. The lesson is, dont get rid of your old appliances. They may use a lot of energy, but they last. I will never buy from Maytag, ever again.

We bought the Bravo XL set 11 months ago and the washer leaks all over the place.. Called Maytag and had the repairman show up. Upon arrival he told us these were the worst machines to buy and would never recommend to anyone. He also said that business has been great due to all of this.. He checked the washer and said the water pressure was too high and lowered it. He couldnt find anything wrong with it. After he left I started a load and sure enough it was the same. Called him right back and he said to call Maytag because he was going to another repair job. I called Maytag again and they said to call the repair guy.. Never again will we ever buy Maytag.

Same problems as everyone else. Water not soaking the clothes, questionable load capacity, shaky (we have engineers in the house so there is no way they did not look for floor evenness as the stores/Maytag will tell you that you may not have done, complete bs) etc. Its absolutely horrible that were all now stuck with such a terrible machine. I really wish I had read these reviews before (I googled the machine earlier but got generic stuff and didnt stumble upon these reviews until much later). Maytag should take responsibility on this as retail stores do not take back appliances unless they are defective. The Bravos is definitely a defective product from the get-go though.

I am about to replace the control panel on my Maytag dishwasher (MDB7749SAM1) for the second time since purchasing it in 2012. Additionally, I have replaced the door gasket twice, as it becomes loose and does not properly seal, causing water to leak from the door during the wash cycle. There are many documented complaints of corrosion on the control panel ribbon cable necessitating replacement of the entire unit. If there were a way to replace the ribbon cable instead of the entire panel, it might be a bit easier to swallow the repair expense. Either way, it is ridiculous to have to spend almost 1/3 the original cost of the dishwasher to make it usable again, and twice in only 5 years time! My previous dishwasher was 30 years old and still functioning (though noisily) when I replaced it with this expensive lemon. I have not contacted Maytag, as it is not in warranty, however, it seems that a major appliance should last longer than a couple of years without issues.

My husband and I just purchased on 4/8/17 a BRAND NEW MAYTAG 4.3 CUBIC FEET CAPACITY FRONT LOADING WASHER WITH STEAM AFTER OUR PREVIOUS 15 year old washer that we both used just finally started having issues. So we decided to go new and with front loader with good brand. How sadly I was wrong! We brought our washer home, hooked it up and turned it on with 1/2 load of tiny laundry. It didnt even make it through one load! This POS started throwing error codes E1, E2, F8, F9, Suds and wouldnt drain any water. We reviewed the manual again, checked the filter hoses and detergent. All was fine but washer wouldnt work! I called Maytag 2 days later on Monday and after repairman came to look at it Thursday said it needs new drain pump and today now power wont turn on and nothing will work on front of machine, mind you this machine is brand new! I am so disgusted and angry that any company would sell this quality to anybody and at the prices they charge! NEVER AGAIN WILL I PURCHASE ANOTHER MAYTAG!

Very Poor Quality from Maytag Although (Dishwasher, model MDB8959AWS) - I knew Maytag always had a reputation of selling quality products I have never purchased a Maytag appliance because they usually cost more than other brands, so this is my 1st Maytag product. After ~25 months (after all warranties have expired), the unit stops working. The lights seem to have a mind of their own. I removed power from the unit for 1/2 hour attempting to re-boot the computer but the condition did not change. After researching the issue online, I found that Maytag has a two big problems: 1) Defective dishwashers, 2) Bad or no customer service.I am an engineer and this type of a problem (it happens from time to time) MUST be acknowledged and the customer made whole or the reputation of the company is destroyed and future sales will (and should) diminish to the point that the company may(?) go away for ever. I know products are not designed to last a lifetime like they were in the 60s & 70s but 3.3 years for a $650.00 appliance is way out of line. The dishwasher we replaced was ~18 years old, and we only replaced it because my wife wanted a more modern look.

We purchased the Maytag double oven 30 inch 5 burner, stainless steel, model MGT8885XS. Oven worked good for six weeks. The igniter broke in the bottom oven and when the third party non-Maytag repairman came out to fix it, he was unable to remove the bottom oven door. It is not flush and heat escapes when the bottom oven is on and it causes the top oven to get condensation. The repair man was directed from a technician from Whirlpool that he had to order a new seal and hinges. I dont want it fixed. I want a new one. I have called Customer Service for Whirlpool and the third party and the store in which I bought it from and everyone is pushing it off onto someone else. Customer service is poor and stated they will only fix the oven and will not send us a new oven. We sent our rebate in the mail which was to arrive within 8 weeks and we have yet to receive it. Very poor customer service. Glad I purchased the 4 year warranty. I will never buy Maytag again.

I purchased the Bravos X washer approximately 13 mos ago. Washer was noisy and has deteriorated since installation. I questioned the ability of a non agitator appliance getting close clean but was assured it would. Not the best if clothes are just moving against clothes. The machine had a difficult time in between adjusting to wash balancing a 3x event upon starting. It leaked intermittently during spin cycles and stopped due to unbalanced loads, sometimes refilling and stopping again. Now it wont spin at all, circuit board problems! This is my first and last Maytag. The company will most likely not balance/compensate on the purchase price (like the Bravos X) because it is beyond the 12 mos warranty.

In December of 2013, I purchased a Middle of the Line Maytag Dishwasher model #MDB8949SBW for $600 plus $200.00 for install and removal of 5 yr old Kenmore. At that time I thought I did my research and saw no major negative flaws on this type of machine or similar machines. This replaced a 5 yr old low line Kenmore that just upped and died. Installed just before the holidays, this Maytag machine seemed to have worked tirelessly until a few days ago August 18/2015. The computer controls went haywire. I was hitting normal start buttons and other buttons on the other side of the control panel were blinking and lighting up. Worse was trying to cancel and the control boards were not responding. Even hitting the start button, the machine would not turn on. Finally looking at the facia, I see the tabs of the flexible plastic frame that hold the control panel popping out from underneath the white facia plate. Snapping the frame back in and applying a lot of pressure got the machine to operate. With a family of four and minimal storage space, this machine is used approx once a day. It appears over the year and 1/2 by pulling on the plastic handle - which also happens to be the computer control board frame, the computer has separated from its mount and has allowed moisture to hit the control board/computer and wreak havoc on the electronics. Looking up this model online NOW, I see I am not the only one with Dishwasher computers failing within a year or two- just out of the one year warranty. A Call to Maytags customer service has the computer control board alone cost $160.00 plus the service tech and his labor fees reaching in excess of $450.00. The CS rep gave me a repair discount to $267.00 and a week wait for the Service Tech for this problem to be fixed. I bought this machine on two premises - one for its price, it was the only machine that offered 3 spin jets that really do a good job in cleaning dishes and 2, I owned a 1984 Maytag dishwasher in another home with computer controls in the handle and to this day, that machine is still running flawlessly! My only issue with the 84 Maytag machine was after 4 years the door gasket went - too much soap - replaced and no issues since! I expected similar performance with this one. I guess I have to spend north of 3 bills for similar performance and quality. What was I thinking?

Purchased a Maytag fridge April of 2012. Within a few months the freezer was not keeping the food cold enough. I had a lot of food loss. I called Home Depot and they refused to give me a new fridge. They said to call the Mfg. That I did and all they did was send out a service man. This has been fixed 5 times for the same thing. The problem now is that the Extended warranty company refuse to repair it now that they know that it was a pre-existing condition that should have been taken care of under the Mfg. warranty. I paid 180.00 for an extended warranty that now is worthless. I just threw out roughly 200.00 worth of food. Now my lettuce is frozen, eggs are frozen. My husband is disabled and money is not plentiful. I dont know where to turn. Frustrated.

Manufacturer says not covered. Not sure but already this brand new model has been discontinued, so the manufacturer i.e. Maytag or Whirlpool take your pick found out about the defective design/part but now does not want to honor the warranty ridiculous. And one of the main selling points was made in USA (which turned out to be only assembled in USA), and the consumer reports which gave good rating but they were duped too.

Bought all stainless steel Maytag appliances when we remodeled our kitchen in 2010. French door fridge freezer broke down three times. First the fridge lost its temp and we lost our food. The freezer went into overdrive and froze the vodka solid. Second time massive ice build up in bottom of freezer so we had to constantly chip it away to keep door closed. Third time was a repeat of the fridge not working at all and the freezer going insanely cold. Sad to say, we have given up and bought another fridge freezer for $1,500, not a Maytag! On to the washing machine: a super duper top of the line expensive Maytag. At the end of last year it started to make disturbing jet engine noises in spin mode. It for worse and worse so I had a repair man come and take a look at it. He said it would cost over $700 to fix. Once again, we decided to cut our loses and buy another washing machine. I have saved all the paperwork including the repair bills for both appliances so Im good to go on the class action lawsuit.

My husband bought me a Maytag washer as a surprise gift. I was so excited to get a Maytag. I will never purchase a Maytag again. I am so tired of washing, rewashing and rerinsing my clothes and still not getting the soap out. I have used every different kind of detergent and used with and without fabric softener. I have also tried cold, warm and hot water. I would rather use more water and get the soap out instead of using more electricity to keep rewashing my clothes and then in the end having to take a wet cloth to get the soap out. Never had to do this with any other washer I owned. Very disappointed as I always thought Maytag was the best.

Recently May 2019, bought a Maytag Bravos Washer, HE. Its now installed and so disappointed with this product. Not enough water to wash Clothes. Would of taken cashback from Maytag, but cant wait 6 to 8 weeks for cashback. 6 to 8 weeks after they have washer picked up. How long did we want to go without clean clothes, hummm. Problem was looked at by a professional appliance repair company sent by Maytag. His opinion, suggestion was, washer just didnt deliver enough water to wash clothes. I know its HE, suppose to me water miser, but Maytag Bravos just doesnt give enough WATER. How do we get clean cloth like that. As I mentioned in summary, I have added attachment close proximity to add water to washer raising water level to wash Cloth. Yes with proper water it does clean good, JUST NOT A AUTOMATIC WASHER now. Were only two, Rural NB, up to 3-4 washes per week, more when company around.

I bought a Maytag washer November Thanksgiving of 2013. This washer started giving problems three months after; problems such as the cycle stop turn over properly, the light would say wash but its not washing. It would just stop but the light stuck on wash for long periods of time. Press the pause/start/cancel button, it would sometimes start again and stop and let out the water quickly. The clothes would be filled with water and not wash properly. This the funny part, serious funny part. I contacted Maytag on countless time. They had me on hold so long I had to hang up; a hold for hour I am talking about. One day I finally got through. They gave me a number to contact because where I am located there is no tech. I never got anyone but the machine when I called the number after countless times of trying. I decided to called back Brandsmart, because I just think its not right and fair to me to purchase a washer for so much, to had it shipped for more money. It didnt last me NO time at all and I cannot get any help. Well! Brandsmart told had to have paid export shipping, something I never was offered and since I took it out of the country, there is nothing they can do for me. I hunted for my receipt and to this day I I still have it. All was offered was warranty parts and labor for a month, thirty days. I said no because I would not think anything would go wrong in that short period of time. Nevertheless was not offered any export shipping warranty like what they are trying to ** me with. Here is my receipt number **. I grieve presently how I was just robbed of my money so openly when all I wanted was a replacement.

I don’t feel it uses enough water. I put a full load in and it only fills up less than half with water. I try half loads and still not clean. It’s always shutting off when I wash sheets. Indicating it’s off balance. Today I started it before work and the lid exploded. I don’t think I want to even replace it at all. This could have seriously hurt someone. I purchased the Maytag Bravos washer and dryer set one year ago, and have asked myself why ever since. The oversized laundry tub is what attracted me to the model, but it sure doesnt deliver for the money it cost. On normal settings, it doesnt use enough water for all the clothes to even get wet. After the load was complete, there were areas of my clothes bone dry, and obviously still dirty. I soon learned that the only way the washer uses enough water to get all the clothes wet and clean, was to set the machine on the bulky setting. This is the only setting I use now, but all of my clothes winds up twisted together, sometimes in one big ball. As for efficiency, that statement folks is a joke! Because I use the bulky setting, it uses much more water than a traditional washer ever did, and when the load is off balanced, it will go through another rinse cycle to try to even it out. This machine uses far more water and electricity than my old school set! I suppose if you dont get your clothes dirty, you may not need to use the bulky setting, but thats the only way I can wash my laundry with this machine. The old style set I had before this was Maytag also, and lasted about 20 years. I was more than happy to purchase Maytag again, but this set has been nothing but a disappointment. I dont plan to buy another energy efficient machine again, nor would I recommend this product to anyone!

I had a Maytag washing machine replaced under warranty back in 2011 via Maytags Extended Service Plan. This took me several months to get done because of back and forth issues with Maytag not wanting to honor the replacement. Executive Support had to get involved after I wrote a complaint on this site. When they replaced this, they sent me forms to extend my warranty, which I did. They never changed the model or serial number so Ive been paying for 2 years now for an extended warranty on a machine I do not own.The new washer broke and I called in for service on 11/18/13. Active Appliance was sent out, said it was an easy fix but they needed to order a part. On 11/20/13 they contacted me to tell me I needed to speak to Maytag because my Model/Serial didnt match with my warranty records. I double-checked these and called Maytag Extended Service and was told that I would need to speak to sales at 866-730-6094. I spoke to someone named Lindsey there who told me that I would need to send a letter in to cancel my policy and request a refund for the 2 years Id been paying for a non-existent unit and that they could start a new policy for me and get a service order in without issue. My call was disconnected during this and when I called back, I was told to call back in the morning to get back to Lindsey because the office was closing and they couldnt do callbacks.I called back on 11/21/13 and spoke to Sam who verified that the letter was needed to cancel and refund but that I would have to pay for the repair to the washer myself and theyd tack on the cost of the new warranty onto that bill so Id be covered AFTER THE FACT. Because the unit wasnt covered under warranty, Id have to cover the costs myself and it had been MY responsibility, not theirs, to make sure that the correct model/serial was on the coverage.Maytag sent me the forms and I would expect them to have added the new information on it...not send me forms with my original washing machine information. Especially as this had been escalated to Executive Support and the person I dealt with there had gone over everything to make sure it all got handled in a satisfactory matter. So for now, Im waiting for a callback from the original rep, Lindsey, but Maytag tends to Stonewall and not return calls so Im dreading how long this entire process is going to take and cost.
