Im told even though my fridge is leaking water and making sizzling sound nothing can be done and my model number and serial number match the recall for this product and I was told that if my fridge catches fire then, Call us but to me thats ridiculous.

We purchased this product from Lowe’s in 2009. We liked it for the first 6 months. Then it started putting holes in our clothes, the washer smells bad, coins get stuck, and make noise. Something needs to be done because there are thousands of upset consumers out there, all with the same complaints and Maytag does nothing. It’s not Lowe’s fault. They didnt make the washer. We had perfectly working 20 year old top loading white Whirlpools w/ an agitator, when we remodeled our home and wanted new pretty grey appliances and decided to donate our machines to the church. I chose Maytag top loading due to their former reputation we experienced with dishwashers, etc. It had an agitator, deep fill option, extra rinse, etc. The sales person at Home Depot stated, the agitator is because people like you still want the agitator, and the deep fill will give you the water you have been used to. Not so at all!!Clothes get wound up together, even with filling the wash tub in bundles, there is almost NO water to thoroughly clean & the rinse cycle is a joke. Clothes do NOT come out clean. Im 58 yrs. old and have been doing laundry since I was 13 so I know what I am doing. Its just my husband and I now, and he is so upset that his clothes are pilling probably from rubbing together, even though I occasionally use laundry bags. I seriously wish I would have saved my money and kept the 2 perfectly working whirlpool units I had. This has been such a disappointment. I sincerely would not buy these.P.S. Weve had service out at least 5 times in the last year, and all they do is test the washer and tell us its working as intended... The last thing that is going to happen is we are going to get refunded for a different set, even though we were educated over and over what it would do by Home Depot associates. We are heartbroken. Maytag is going to lose their former reputation on these washers a dryers :( There is simply not enough water to clean or rinse things!

Electronic control board fried after 3 yrs on Maytag Gemini range - certain buttons on control board would not set for ovens. Called Maytag, said was not covered, past 1 year warranty. Recommended repair shops, all overpriced. The piece cost between $300-500 for a 3 year old stove. Cheapest repairman wanted 90 to install piece. Ordered piece online and replaced it myself with help from YouTube video. Maytag has lousy repair records lately. Of 4 Maytag appliances purchased in 3 yr kitchen remodeling… already had issues with 3 of them. Do not recommend Maytag anymore!

Maytag gas range 5 burners. Maytag is quality. Period. I doubt that other brands are made as well. From the handle of the oven door to the ease of cleaning the burners, you wont find better for the price. I look for quality and reliability. I read reviews. A deal breaker on any major purchased would be too many bad reviews and shoddy materials or construction. This range has 3 regular burners, one large burner and one small burner. The oven shelves easily adjust from one level to another. The controls are easy to reach and the timer and bake controls are easy to operate.

I am replacing my second Maytag Bravos washing machine. My first had heavy use and I rationalized that the 5 year life span was due to the heavy use. The one that I am replacing now is only 3 years old and has only done laundry for one 67 year old woman. It suddenly needed two parts with a repair bill that was going to be over $600.00. I decided it was in my best interest to spend a couple hundred more and replace it. I will not be buy Maytag again. The appliance company that I have bought most of my appliances from recommends Speed Queen which ironically also has a full 10 year warranty on all parts and labor.

I have a Maytag Bravo washer which I purchased from Brubaker Appliances in Lancaster, PA four years ago. I also purchased from them an extended 5-year warranty. I have this installed on 2nd floor with a drain and a drain pan The drain pump got a hole in it and leaked water all the way down to the basement, over $6,000 in damage. The drain pan and drain didnt work because the Maytag has a noise barrier on the bottom and when that was soaked with water, it sealed off the drain pipe. Also, when I contacted repair at Brubakers, they replaced the drain pump but then informed me that it wasnt covered because penny got in there and that is neglect. $332 later, I was told that the extended warranty covered everything and also no one will take responsibility for installing the washer so that the drain pipe could be blocked. I will never purchase a Maytag again or anything from Brubaker Appliances.

We recently purchased a Maytag refrigerator, love it, no problems until the mystery person in my house accidentally broke the slide out door for bottom drawer. So I called Maytag, and with no questions asked they sent me a new part by Purolator! Great customer service makes everything better! Thanks Maytag.

The dishwasher would not start July 30 2015. Tried to get service around here and no shops could respond. Called Midsouth Distributors for circuit board. They did not have one but would order and gave me the part # W10595570 based on the Model # MDB7749SBW3. Hoping could find one quicker somewhere else. Ordered one overnight from Sears and planned to replace the board by myself. However, I noticed the flat wire with 14 wires in the ribbon cable had brown spots. From my experience in the electrical systems, I realized this must be shorting out the start signal to the dishwasher logic controller. Sure enough, after scraping this off with a sharp knife, I was able to start my dish washer.My previous MAYTAG lasted 20 years. I bought this one in February 2014 at Home Depot. The design for the electrical controls is obviously very poor as testified by so many angry owners. MAYTAG should be required to replace all these control panels with a improved design at their cost. I hope this obvious poor design of a part gets attention in the United States and ConsumerAffairs will help us. I have called 1-800-688-9900 and registered with MAYTAG a complaint about this poor design.

The brackets that make the door open and close are just screwed Into the plastic lining with no kind of anchors. If you use the freezer a lot the screws come loose. Can’t close the door. And then 300 dollars later a service call. All to replace a screw. That’s just fine but the hole is stripped because no one could install a 50 cent anchor on installation at the factory. No more Maytag for me.

I have a Maytag Clothes Washer. Lid Closed Light is flashing and agitator will not spin. Troubleshooting shows when the washer does not detect the lid is closed the agitator will not spin. I went to Maytag Canada website and chose Live Agent. There is no Live Agent! You get a Virtual Assistant that does not work; bad software. Virtual Agent shows connected. I type in the details of my issue and the Virtual Agent responds with No Input Detected. I type in the details again and the Virtual Assistant responds with Connection Closed, try refreshing. Over and over again. Tried calling the Maytag Canada 1-800 number. I have now been in the queue for more than 40 minutes. Just stupid cycling for a recording for common problems dealing with products that are not a washing machine (about a 9 minute cycle). NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. Avoid Maytag, Whirlpool and Kitchen-Aid products. Buy from another manufacturer that has live people working at the company.

We have had 2 Maytag dishwashers only last less than 2 years. Since we can only have a portable because of owning an older home the expense is too much anymore. We also had a Maytag Neptune clothes washer last only 2 1/2 years. We had always respected Maytag and trusted them. That trust is gone. It is too expensive to buy and lose them after barely 1 1/2 years. We had a Kenmore that lasted 23 years. I dont know what company to trust anymore. This is a review of a washer that is no longer sold. I bought a top of the line Maytag washer 45 years ago. After around 25 years the control (all mechanical) started sticking during the cycle. I opened it up, sprayed it with TV Tuner cleaner, worked it a few times, and it has worked perfectly ever since. That is the only problem or repair on that machine since it was purchased!

I do not like this Maytag Centennial Washer at all, I have had it for a year and a half and it just does not perform good at all. Most of the time the clothes still come out with dirt on them but what I am most mad about is the fact that it keeps leaving bleach spots on my clothes, several washes after I use the bleach. I will definitely not recommend this washer to anyone.

Maytag dishwasher mdbh979sam1 - Every single one of the Maytag/whirlpool dishwashers with soft pushbuttons and LEDs will fail--check it on YouTube. They have a very thin printed circuit strip from the door controller to the brains, and this rusts through in a few years. You must buy the whole controller for $150, you cant replace just the ribbon. And youll be doing this every few years. Maytag disavows this if you call them. The design runs the steam past this ribbon, so it corrodes really fast. Get a real pushbutton or a real dial knob model instead. With this model, the issue shows up when the LED pushbuttons stop responding or randomly light.

We had Maytag brand washer and dryers in the past. They worked for years and I was able to repair or replace switches and some parts on my own. The new Bravos XL is a very inferior machine, nothing but problems. The clothes have to be washed two or more times to make them clean. There is no agitator, so your clothes have only other clothes to scrub up against, and the spin cycle is just thumping and banging and thrashing around until you’re able to get in and rescue it from itself. Our older machines had tiny steel shot in the rim of the machine to keep it balanced. Don’t buy this machine ever!!!

I purchased my new refrigerator in 2005. Within 3 months, the bottom freezer went out. I had purchased warranty and it was fixed. Again, the fan went out 1 year later with the same exact problem. Now, it went out again 2 years later with the same exact problem. I called Maytag and they do not care. They are rude and simply will not fix this refrigerator. The warranty is gone and again, I have to pay for this constant problem. Why doesnt Maytag own up and service this problem. Didnt we pay for this? It wasnt given to us free. Someone needs to step up and gets it resolved for consumers. If legal action needs to bring this to their ignorance, so be it. We all have spent a great deal of money on a refrigerator and all they do is say, is “Too bad. How can any company continue to be in business and operate this way?

Purchased MBF1958 model refrigerator July 2012. Has had 3 major problems. 2nd time the compressor has failed. For over 1 month have been playing phone tag and given the runaround by Maytag. Never return calls when promised and get a different story with each person I speak with. After 2 service calls to diagnose a bad compressor, $69 service fee, two weeks for the replacement to come in, the third serviceman decides this is not the problem and the refrigerator cannot be fixed. Maytag has once again offered to SELL me a replacement at a discounted price. Do I really want to subject myself to the HORRENDOUS MAYTAG EXPERIENCE again?

For the first time I bought a new washing machine in order to have one that lasted. Bought a brand new Maytag Front Loading HE washer model MHW3505FW1. Controls stopped working and the machine turns on and off by itself. Its either a faulty control board or computer, either of which are going to be more than a $400 repair. So more than half of what we can pay for a new machine. Maytag only warranties two parts for more than a year. So in reality, its not worth the repair and I will not buy a Maytag of Whirlpool product ever again.

I purchase my Maytag electric glass top stove 9 years ago. 2 years ago, one of the burners went out and had to be replaced. Now, in the past 2 days, my oven is taking FOREVER to preheat from 0 to 455 degrees. So far, its been 78 minutes waiting for it to go from 0 degrees to 425! Apparently the heating element is defective. As far as the self cleaning oven, it is absolutely worthless, and does NOT work! Needless to say that Im very disappointed, and looking at another repair expense!

My Maytag Refrigerator Freezer model MFI2569VEM4 started leaking water into base under bottom freezer door. It then fills up and freezes into solid sheet of ice and overflows and leaks into floor. Ruins Hardwood Floor. BEWARE!!!!! I have now seen several similar complaints online. Mine started doing this less than 2 years old!!!!!

We bought our Maytag dishwasher because of the topnotch features; such as 10 year warranty, low noise level, maximum cleaning power and it looks great. The dishes come out exceptionally clean and don’t needs to be rinsed prior to putting them in.

I bought my Maytag Bravos washer and dryer set about 3.5 years ago when I moved into my home. There was a 20-year old set here that did work, but I wanted something newer and more efficient, so I donated the old set and bought these. Performance of the washer has always seemed mediocre, clothes dont get as clean as I think they should, whites are dingy, despite using hard-water additives and the correct HE products.A few months ago, the washer started a new behavior: stopping during the initial fill cycle and displaying an F1 error. I soon figured out if I hit cancel then start again, it would resume filling and proceed with the cycle. Over time, I had to repeat it more and more. Its now up to ten F1 errors both at the beginning and end of the cycle. I dont have that kind of time to babysit my washer. I already have a full-time job.I have called Maytag/Whirlpool twice now, both times getting unsatisfactory answers. Even after escalating to the customer service supervisor, I was basically told that it is most likely the control board that is the problem and since Im no longer under warranty (that washer ‘is’ almost 4 years old, maam), Id either have to order the part myself from their supplier (total cost $250 + the risk of DIY), or buy their service package for about $350 which included fixing that problem plus one additional years warranty.I pointed out that for a major household appliance that I (over) paid for, I expect a life of more than 4 years, especially since I had a working 20-year old washer when I moved in here. Since when is this acceptable? I could understand if it were a wear-and-tear part, like a rubber seal or something that moved constantly and would eventually need replaced. But this is the electronics module, something that cant (or at least, shouldnt) be worn down or broken by use or even user error. This is an integral part of the machine, and if it has a fault (which it clearly does), the manufacturer needs to stand behind it and help the consumer.What angered me even further is that the customer service manager even admitted that models similar to mine had had similar problems, and a free control board was sent to those customers. But my model was not in that range of production, so clearly they have no fault, in their eyes. Apparently, its not even remotely possible that maybe when they determined the range of models they believed to be faulty, mine hadnt been in use long enough to display the same behavior? Maybe the range they selected is too restrictive and they missed some. From the volume of complaints Ive seen online, Id bet that to be the case.I asked to be transferred to their legal department, and was refused because we just dont transfer customers to the legal department. Well, I just dont buy Maytag or Whirlpool anymore, and Im going to do my best to make sure nobody else does either. Im replacing this ** with a different brand, one Ill be sure has tremendous reviews and a manufacturer that will stand behind it.

This has nothing to do with the vendor. This is clearly shoddy workmanship on the part of Maytag. I bought this refrigerator in 2005 and already the compressor is gone. So therefore, I have to replace the whole unit.What kind of ** is this? You mean to tell me that you people cant find someone to build a compressor that holds up more than a few years? We purchased this washer (MHW05500FWD) and dryer set in 09/26/2016 and have had nothing but issues. I have had the repairmen out twice. The first time the washer wasnt rinsing out clothes, when the repairman came out he couldnt find anything. In June of 2017 the same thing happen. Once again the repairman came out. I found out that there was a recall on the part which was on Backordered. Now the matching dryer model MED5500FWD is not drying. This is the worst washer and dryer I have ever own. I will NEVER own another front loader again. Buyer Beware!!!

The big problem is Lowes and Home Dopey, I mean Depot. I am an appliance repairman for 30 years. Their machines are built to a lower spec. Buying same machine from mom n pop store will help! Will cost you more but it will last longer with less repairs! P.S., While Maytag does make some of their own appliances, when Whirlpool bought Maytag years ago they shut down the Newton, Iowa plant. Whirlpool builds that washer and puts Maytags name on it. If you want a good washer buy a Speed Queen, go online and check their reviews! One more thing, LG and Samsung build terrible appliances. Do yourself a favor and stay away from them, just saying!

Magtag Bravos Washer top load Model MVWX700XW1 - I purchased my washer in June 2011 with the understanding that this was the best washer for my money and needs. I have family of 4, and laundry is a continual cycle at our home. I had the washer delivered and installed by the store where it was purchased. I was pleased with the machine even though the clothes were extremely wrinkled after each cycle, but the salesman was kind enough to tell me this would be so. 21 months into use, I had a water leak from the internal cold water valve. It’s not covered by warranty; I had the valve replaced. Within 2 weeks, the machine would not spin out the clothes; if it did, they were still wet, or would stop mid-spin cycle and start rinsing again. It took 2 hours to wash a 37 minute hand washables load this past Saturday, 4/6/2013, not to mention the other 4 hours washing to regular loads just to get the machine to rinse and spin. The service technician has spent the past 2 days at my home trying to repair my machine to tell me today that it is not the lid lock, but the master control panel which is still not covered under the manufacturer’s warranty. To say the least, I now have to purchase a new washer as I have invested $250.00 for a valve and the control panel is $275.55 plus labor.This machine is the biggest waste of money that I have ever spent. I have been a loyal Whirlpool customer having owned two other Whirlpool machines, each lasting 17-18 years each. I do not abuse my appliances, overload or in any other manner try to destroy a machine for personal gain. I do, however, feel that Whirlpool/Maytag needs to recall these washers or cover the parts beyond what is written. I have read numerous accounts of these and similar issues by others, yet the company will not stand behind their appliances. Really!

I have a Maytag refrigerator that is 7 years old. It works fine except it needs a new freezer door gasket. In trying to get the part so it can be repaired I discovered that they had chosen to discontinue production of this part. I can no longer get it anywhere. They were the most unhelpful customer service I have ever worked with. They refused to try to find a part for another model that may work. They refused to offer a discount on a replacement product. They even refused to give me a phone number to talk to management. I had always been a loyal customer to their brand prior to this but I will never again purchase a Whirlpool or Maytag product. I dont expect not to have an issue but I do expect the ability to be supported in obtaining a commonly replaced part for a major appliance that is less than 10 years old.

I have a basic Maytag dishwasher circa 2012. Not sure of the model number. It works well, no fancy features but everything you really need is there. My only real complaint is that the heat dry cycle always seems to leave the dishes a little wet, but thats common enough for dishwashers. It cleans nicely and hasnt had any issues or breaks in 3+ years. Basic. Three wash cycles (light, normal, heavy); Extra rinse option, extra hot option, and heat dry or eco-dry (i.e. no dry). Nice big rinse aid dispenser. Its not that roomy inside. Id say the size is average. It looks nice - its white and unobtrusive. It works really well with Cascade dish pods. The bottom rack is kind of a pain if your plates are curved more than usual.

Maytag Bravos MCT washer not good - Owned this since June 2017. This thing has never worked properly. Every time after a cycle is complete we have to wring the soaked clothes by hand. Even after doing this the drying time ends up being double what it should be because the clothes are so wet. Not only time wasted on hand wringing clothes but also wasted energy in drying them afterwards. Also this thing is supposed to auto-detect how much water it should use but half of the time it uses too little water and doesn’t actually wash all of the clothes. Some clothes stay totally dry when this happens.

So far we have replaced the belt. Clothes have never come out clean. High Efficiency... Yeah, we have to put it on extra rinse to rinse all the soap out or wash twice because the clothes just do not get clean. Now it stops right before it drains after the wash. So I had to pull out clothes and use pitchers to get water out before we could tip forward and pull hoses to drain the rest. We checked hoses and connections. All lights work, it did a wash cycle, and again stopped before the drain. Really. All I got was “Didnt you take out the extended warranty?” Well, No I did not. Why would I consider the fact that MAYTAG would need repairs within the first 3 years. Its not like I do a lot of wash. Or have big bulky items. I have a laundry mat close by for that stuff, because it wouldnt get it clean anyway. Never again…

Purchased a Maytag Bravos top loading washing machine in Sept. 2015. First time we used it the machine vibrated enough to shake the walls. We thought the balance was off. Called Lowes (installers) and they came out and said it was level. There was something fishy about the grinding type noise it made. Also noticed that in spite of all the noise that the clothes essentially stayed in the same spot while the basket moved. Sometimes the clothes on top never got completely wet or rotated through the wash water. Called Lowes again and they looked at the machine and said it needed replaced. But the 90 time period for replacement had passed. Lowes said it would be repaired. A technician came and replaced the basket, saying it might have been out of round. He left, we used the washing machine and it was worse. He came back an hour later and talked with Whirlpool and they said there might be something wrong with a gear. Hes going to replace the gearbox sometime. Meanwhile we are stuck with a washer that makes a lot of noise, vibrates terribly and doesnt appear to do much washing. If noise equated to cleanliness then it would be fantastic. But had we known about the noise or the many complaints we would never have made this purchase. Whatever happened to Maytag quality? Bet that Maytag repairman isnt lonely anymore.

I purchased my Maytag HE washer from Home Depot. I immediately started getting spots on my clothes that looked like bleach had taken the color out. After trying 3 times to get a tech to my house, he came in and looked at it a few minutes. He said nothing was wrong and to run a cup of water through it. I called back the next day (5/17/11) and told them Im still having problem. They told me to call the appliance team and have a different tech come out. I called and left a message. No one called me back. I called the next day and asked for a supervisor (Kitty), who gave me specific numbers to call. I called an appliance repair, who was leaving on vacation and gave me yet another person to call. Finally, I got Scott out to look at the washer on 5/27/11. He said the only thing he sees wrong is it got very sudsy, so use less soap. I started using the smallest amount of soap and diluting it with water, running the washer on the bulky cycle and running water through the machine if I ever used bleach. Did it solve the problem? No. Finally in December 2011, the machine ruined a very expensive shirt. I called Maytag and was informed that if a tech comes out, I would have to prove the machine has failed or they would charge me. I have contacted Maytag and informed them of everything, including all of the damaged clothes. I was told they could not compensate for consumer error. I informed them the only error I made was buying a Maytag product, and I will never make that expensive error again.

On the first day, first time, the washer wrinkled clothes so bad I could not get them out. I talked to Home Depot people and they said I must lay clothes around tub like pictured in the book. I did that and they were still wrinkled. I called the repairman who said nothing was wrong with the washer. I talked to Home Depot; they did not have the answer. I called the repairman and he checked it out. He found nothing wrong. He did watch it washing and said he had never seen a washer tangle and twist clothes like this before, called Maytag. They said that I was loading clothes wrong, and nothing was wrong with the washer. They would not give me a number to call above them. This washer is bad. Maytag has known it for 4 years and done nothing about it. Ive been ripped off.

I bought a brand new top/bottom refrigerator from them. 1 1/2 yrs later, the cooling stopped and had 2 repair guys come out. They replaced it with BRAND NEW refrigerator. Now 1 1/2 yrs later, the same issue is happening. ALL my food I buy goes to waste. I bought NEW so this wouldnt happen. What happened to the old fridges from back in the day! Maytag has the WORST Customer Service!!!

We have a Maytag dishwasher that came with the house we purchased in 2012. Im not sure of the exact age but the former owner said it was a relatively new installation. The appliance works very well; cleans well. Just a couple of things of concern. First, it is really noisy. The fact that we can very clearly hear it running in the adjacent room does not speak well for it in this regard. The other things that has occurred is that rusting is evident on the trays of the dishwasher. One of the upright pieces has already broken off due to rust and two others are close to coming apart very soon. Nothing sharp is placed in those areas that are coming apart so there would be nothing remarkable to disturb the plastic coating on the wire racks. I can only conclude that the plastic coating was defective at the start; hence the rusting at the base of the upright pointing racks. That said, it does clean well but I dont foresee this unit lasting much longer overall due to the rack damage that is continuing to occur. I would expect the racks to at least last as long as the dishwasher but this does not seem very likely at the rate the racks are deteriorating.

I had the microwave serviced and they heated a cup of water which was fine. I heat food on the tray and only one side gets heated. I have to turn the plate to heat the rest of the food. I never had that problem with a turntable microwave. I cannot understand why they are still selling this inferior product. Maytag used to have excellent products. What happened to this company?

Do not buy this dishwasher unless you get the extended warranty. We purchased this dishwasher in Jan 2014. The first one delivered was completely busted up (which was probably the delivery companys fault for not handling it correctly). Then we had to wait for the replacement one to come in to get installed. In Sept 2014 the control panel stopped working. It was repaired under the warranty but it took several weeks for the authorized repair shop to be able to come out, diagnose, order part, and then come back to fix it. Now March 2015 (5 months later) we had the same exact problem with the control panel. The repair company was unwilling to order the part to bring with them even though they already had it in their records what we needed due to the previous repair. It was going to $300 to repair it since they only warranty the repair for 90 days. We decided to replace our 14-month old dishwasher rather than put any more money into it. Shame on you Maytag for putting out such a bad product - obviously this is a common problem. It is quiet and does a good job of washing but to have it take several weeks to get a repair done combined with having a problem that cost 50% of the purchase price to replace twice within a year of each other, absolutely not worth the money. Should have just spent the extra on a higher quality product. Will definitely get the extended warranty on whatever we replace it with.

Bravo XL - This is the worst washing machine I have ever purchased! Loved it at first but after a year or so we couldnt wash a full load without error messages. Then we couldnt even wash one pair of jeans without an error message. Called to have it repaired and $300. Later the bearing was replaced and the washer worked wonderfully once again. Less than a year later and we are back to having a non functional washer. Cannot wash anything without the error message. Customer service is absolutely no help. For such an expensive washer and supposedly a good brand, this machine is a real disappointment.

Maytag Dishwasher MDB77495 - We bought this dishwasher September of 2013. April 2013 when you pressed the option I wanted the options auto clean, rinse only, steam sanitize and delay hours. The thing would work when pressing start but I have no idea what it is doing. The repair man replaced the board and all was good for a couple of months then it happened again. The board was replaced again and in two more months it failed again. The repair man told me that moisture was getting to the board and there was corrosion on the ribbon mentioned in another review here. He contacted Maytag both times and gave them my contact information but they never called me + they told him that they have never heard of this happening with this machine. We had a Maytag machine 8 years ago where the board actually melted but like an idiot decided to try them again. I will never buy a Maytag again.

I have Maytag Model MGT8885XS03 Gas Range. I bought it in Nov 2013. The surface burner valves, which regulate the gas flow, are a bad design. One valve got stuck and needed replacement within first 13 month. Then another valve got stuck about a year ago and the third one got stuck today Nov 19. So far I spent $400.00, just for 2 of them and the last one has not being replaced yet. This is a safety issue, because it always happen when the stove is on and will not turn off. I need Maytag to replace my stove because I am afraid this will burn my house down. I bought Maytag because they always advertise as quality product, and now I have to live with the nightmare of burning my house down.

Nineteen months in a home of empty nesters and the darn thing is a game of trying to outwit its electronics. We live a long way from town, which makes service calls a high dollar thing. I have spent considerable time this weekend trying to cipher its moods and order parts. This washer was purchased on an invalid reputation. Others beware.

Our washer finally needs replacing due to the buildup of scale from our very hard well water. This after about 30 years of good service. Looking to replace them and will probably buy another Maytag set when they go on sale.

My dishwasher is 9.5 months old. The computer board needs to be replaced and they cannot find the part. It’s been 2 1/2 weeks since I called in the repair which is under warranty. I was told they have 10 business days to search the country. Really search the country. Does anyone know what will happen if they cannot find the parts I need?

My Neptune dryer purchased in November 2005 had the drum crack at about three years old. I complained so much that they finally agreed to send a replacement drum for free. Now, two years later, the drum has cracked again and tore through the housing on the front of the dryer. The repairman said it would be too expensive to repair. Consumers, beware.

If you dont want your sheets ripped, then DO NOT purchase this machine. All my sheets have been torn, and many items of clothing damaged beyond repair due to this machine. Also, the machine started rusting out the first year I bought it (see photo). The repair man said that I must be doing something wrong - of course, its the consumer and not the machine - ha! Maytag should have given all of us a huge credit to a different machine because they knew of these problems early on. Never again will I purchase a Maytag appliance.

I bought a fridge, model number MBF1958, its a top fridge-bottom freezer. The freezer part leaked and spilled water that then froze onto the bottom of the freezer, which of course froze. I discovered this 1 month after the 1 year warranty ended. Maytag gave me a courtesy repair service guaranteed for 90 days. Of course, 2 weeks after the 90-day period ended, I have the same problem again.

Purchased what was supposed to be a good dishwasher. In less than 3 years the control panel went out. It would cost more to replace the panel than to buy a new dishwasher. I will never buy another Maytag product.

I bought a Maytag Bravos Quiet Series 300 washer just over two years ago from Home Depot. The control board and sensor went out last week. The service technician seemed rather surprised that a newer machine would have that kind of non-wear-and-tear problem and suggested that I contact Maytag/Whirlpool to see if they could help offset the parts costs, as the repair was going to cost over $600! The customer service agent I spoke with said that there was nothing they could do because the item did not have an extended warranty. I explained to her that we purchased this unit, even though it was out of our price range, because we were told that it would last a lifetime. I would have been happy if it would have just lasted 5 years! She was very detached and it was clear that Maytag/Whirlpool was not going to stand behind their product. I will now take the repair money and go buy a new washer. You can be sure that it absolutely will not have the Maytag/Whirlpool brand!

In July 2001 my husband and I purchased a 6-year old home. We are still here. We have replaced the refrigerator, oven and microwave - all in stainless steel. I am still waiting for the Maytag dishwasher to wear out. It has never been repaired because it has never broken down. Cleans dishes and silverware great.

I chose Maytag because they received a good rating from Consumer Reports. I liked that they were for extra large loads however now that Ive had them for 12 years I know the large loads are no more than my old Kenmore washer and dryer. The real deal breaker for me is the size of load that you can actually wash. I was hoping I would be able to wash a blanket without worrying about the washer going off balance. My washer and dryer are Maytag although I dont know the model number. They are full size but the extra large load is not extra large. The knob on my washer broke and Maytag wanted $15 for a plastic knob! I found it on eBay for $3. The washer goes off balance too easily.

I purchased a Maytag dryer #MEDB400VQ for $715.48 along with a 5-year warranty for $119.99 on March 30/2012. Since then, the dryer has broken six times. Our warranty stated that after it breaks 3 times, we would get a new dryer. All claims for a new dryer have been denied. The dryer is still broken, going on 10 days, only to find out that parts needed are on back order for two more weeks. This is unacceptable! I will never ever buy a Maytag again and will tell all family and friends my story so they do not purchase a Maytag and go through the hell that Maytag has put my family of five through!

Well Maytag, I have to say that I am very disappointed with your washer. When I put it on the bedding setting and try to wash a big load, it barely moves the load around. If you have a regular agitator to replace this useless one that is in this new washer I would like to have one. My laundry is barely getting washed and when you look inside the washer everything that is on the top stays on the top, not like the older washers where you could see that the laundry was getting sucked down with the proper agitator.

Like many people here, I have a Maytag Dishwasher Model # MDB7749SBW3 Serial # F40107007. We have had this dishwasher for about 12 months to 18 months. The first indication that there was a problem was some of the lights were acting strange. Then the dishwasher starting going nuts. I removed power from the unit thinking that maybe the controller became confused. The problem persisted. I would hit buttons and either nothing would happen or something completely different would happen.I take the dishwasher door apart and remove the touch pad. I notice some discoloration on the ribbon cable. I remove the glued on front panel to look at the electronics behind it (see pictures) and I see some discoloration there as well. So using my multimeter, I find that there is a direct short between pins 4 and 5. I vigorously flex the cable at the point of discoloration and the short goes away. So at this point, I doubt that I can get just the flexible circuit strip so Im going to have to pop for a new touch pad assembly. I didnt go further in the measurements as there was no point since I already detected one failure. Furthermore, I inspected the computer control unit and I did not see any obvious signs of corrosion or discoloration anywhere on the processor board. So it appears that there is no problem with it.Conclusion: Many people are at a disadvantage when it comes to electronic devices. In my professional opinion, this is clearly a failure of the insulating material of the ribbon cable due to environmental contamination. Visual inspection shows that corrosion of the conductors is clearly evident. About Me: I have been an electronics technician on and off for over 20 years now. I have a 2-year college degree in electronics technology and I am currently in school to become an electrical engineer. In my house, when something breaks, I fix it.

WARNING: Do not buy a Maytag washer, unless you get a very extended warranty. My wife and I had A GE, but it wore out after only a few years. So, we decided to go with a Maytag, since they always claimed that the Maytag repairman had nothing to do, which leads you to believe that they never need service. WELL, 3 years and 10 months and our Maytag blew its transmission. Oil is leaking from the seal, and its on borrowed time. So, off we go to get another washer. Just keep in mind that Maytag, and Whirlpool are one and the same company, so buyer beware. Oh, yeah, forgot to mention, there is a sticker on the washer stating that there is a 10 year warranty. That is only on the drum, which never goes bad, and the electric motor. NO OTHER PARTS are under warranty unless you participate in the extended warranty. My wife and I are going to go out and look at some used washers. There are places that refurbish them, and they have a better warranty, believe me. I am hoping that we can find one WITHOUT A FREAKING COMPUTER BOARD in it. Cost to fix my washer, according to the accredited Maytag repairman is $560.04. I think I can get a basic washer that wont stop working after a few years for less than that. Just in case you are wondering, its only my wife and I, we only do laundry a couple of times a week. It's mounted above the stove, ten years old and still looks & operates like brand new. Have never had a problem with it and it's used almost daily. From heating up food to making dinner & popcorn. This is the longest lasting microwave I've ever purchased. Maytag made a great product.

We purchased the Bravos X set (Model Number: MEDX700XW0 and Model Number: MVWX700XW2) form Lowes in October 2012. When the items arrived and we used the dryer for the first time in the delicate setting, the machine kept cutting off! So, Lowes brought us a new one. At first it worked but then the delicate cycle on that machine ended up not working as well a few months later. I ignored it and used the other settings. Yesterday, the washer broke. The entire basket detached! We were washing a small blanket and sheet set and kept hearing a loud banging sound. I went to check and the clothes were soaked and the entire drum was detached. I am so friggin angry! We spent over 1200 for this set and less than 3 years later, the set is ruined. I am on the phone with Maytag now b/c they need to replace this set or give us an upgraded set. They know that this set had issues yet they decided to still market and sell it. I want to sue!

Maytag 765 Washer - What a disappointment after having a Maytag set for 2 decades only to get a new one that isnt worth much quality wise. 2 new washers in 2 weeks due to a ratcheting noise that they both have. The solution??? Have a third service call only to hear, replace it (which we did) or replace the transmission. The 3rd call coming up will be the same. What good is a new transmission going to fix it when the last 2 machines had New transmissions. Quality??? I dont think so. Oh, I had to buy the second replacement in order to get credit for the first one. This was at Lowes. Is there even a quality washer out there anymore?

DB7749SAM1 Maytag Stainless Steel Dishwasher worked great for 14 months then lights went crazy. My last machine was 30 years old before its motor died. I should have fixed it. Maytag needs to step up and fix this. I will make sure everyone knows from here on out, social media is a wonderful thing. I have not even used it that much - still looks brand new and this is unbelievable. I have seen so many bad reviews now on how Maytag has built poorly designed appliances and then to add insult to injury they will not fix their mistakes.

In the last 6 years, Ive had a Whirlpool dishwasher that the motor seized due to poor design and overseas Asian motor builder (3 years of normal service). I cleaned the motor and it seems to barely work another couple of months but the design and manufacture process was garbage at best. Thinking I would go with the best produce MAYTAG (Old commercial about repairman having no calls), only to find out that it too was bought out by CRAPPY WHIRLPOOL and it too lasted a couple of years with cheap MADE IN CHINA electronics!!! Thats why we are the laughing stock in the world as far as products.I remember the days of where built in the USA was the best of the best, now with selling our great nation down the toilet so some Wall Street Commie can make his/her biz-zillion dollars and sell this nation down the toilet. Maybe they need to go down to Arlington and see who really has paid the price for their luxurious life-style!!!

My Bravo washer does NOT clean my clothes. I have tried many detergents. I have to pre-treat all spots with dish soap and run hot water over and then rub the spots out. This was the only recommendation given after consulting with Maytag. I have to pre-soak my clothes in a pail of water with detergent. The water is brown. My clothes are dingy, spotted and have bleach spots. I am very careful so this is not from pouring into the bleach dispenser. Maytag was the reason I purchased this washer. Never again.

Two years ago I bought a matched set of Maytag Neptune washer and dryer. Although I bought really liked the front loading and large capacity, I bought them because they were Maytags. I remember my parents grumbling that they couldnt afford a decent washer or dryer like Maytag and had to settle for Kenmore or some other brand that they figured was inferior. I noticed that they struggled through 20-25 years of maintenance free use of their inferior appliances. So when I found a pair of Maytag, I thought I had finally arrived. I was 60 years old and I knew this would be the last washer and dryer I would ever have to buy.It is now 2 years later and we developed dryer problems. The repairman found the computer malfunctioning and suggested it would be cheaper to replace than to repair. We asked him to check the washer while he was here and his diagnosis was similar. The drum bearings were gone and probably too expensive to repair. The Maytags are now in some scrap yard and I now have an inferior washer and dryer and I am looking forward to many years of maintenance free struggles. I used to think that Maytag repairmen are the loneliest people because their machines were reliable. I now know that they are lonely because all of the Maytags are garbage and not worth fixing.

I purchased a Maytag Washer Bravos Quiet series 300 & a Dryer Bravos Quiet series 400 w/ steam in June 2009 from Lowes. I cant express my dissatisfaction in strong enough language with these products. From the time they were installed there were problems.The Bravos series 300 washer: Quiet? Never. The thing sounds like a huge motor whirring around my laundry room. Several times, a coin got stuck in the motor and created a clanking sound that had to be fixed. Ive never had a washer that allowed coins to enter the motor. I cant close the lid on the washer until the whole unit is dry because of the mold problem. I dont feel the washer really gets clothes clean. When we purchased the unit, the Lowes salesman stressed that we could fit a large bedspread into the oversized tub and get it clean. This didnt turn out to be true. The clothes tangle terribly and the unit is off-balance with any kind of a larger load. Ive been forced to purchase the extended warranty because of the complete & total lack of confidence I have in this awful washer (same goes with the dryer).The Bravos series 400 Dryer: This unit never dries. All the setting that should be used with the sensor never work which causes a huge problem. I start out on a particular setting with a stated time limit say, for instance 45 minutes. 45 minutes later, I look at the dryer and theres 1 hr of time still left to go! The dryer just runs on and on. Ive taken to using only the timed dry and I start out at 1 hr, then check it every 10 minutes or so. This is very hard on the fabrics and has caused the useful life of my clothes to be greatly diminished. Also, the stupid thing will start to beep and I cant figure out why. Using this dryer has increased the electricity costs to us.I cant stress enough to STAY away from these products. I purchased Maytag because of their prior good reputation. That reputation is in tatters now. They should recall this product and replace it with products that actually do what they advertise!

Maytag MHW3505FW Washer and dryer were purchased 13 months ago. I purchased and spent $2,000 because the Lowes salesperson and the stickers on the machine said they had a 10 year GUARANTEE AND commercial quality/technology. Exactly 2 weeks after 12 months the washer started flashing erratically when I was able to turn it on. Wouldnt react to any of the touch controls and stopped working. Called Lowes who told me because I hadnt bought an extended warranty they would do nothing. When I told them I was told a 10 year warranty was in place they said they only cover a year. I was told to call Maytag. Maytag said the 10 year warranty only covers the steel drum and motor! Nothing else is covered after one year. I was offered an extended warranty for $600. Not something I will be doing. I will replace with non-computer washer and dryer and will NEVER BUY MAYTAG again. They should be sued for false advertising.

We purchased a Maytag MDB7749SBWO Maytag dishwasher. Suddenly the control panel does not work. Trying to find out why I found that there are thousands of complaints about this known defect with water and steam getting in and corroding the control panel. Shame on Maytag for continuing to sell these without fixing the problem. I expected my dishwasher to last many years based on the Maytag reputation instead I need to replace it. I am not going to spend the money on a repair with a machine that will have the same problem again according to other consumers.

Please let me know if there is a class action suit. This refrigerator leaks water all my floor every three days or so. I have to chip the ice off the bottom of freezer every three or four days. Storage is also a joke. Poor design.

I would say you have plenty of options when choosing a color for your dishwasher. You can choose black or stainless. Try one today you wont be disappointed. I load plenty of dishes into the space. It has extra pockets for little things and it has plenty of hooks and hangers to use for bigger cycles. Kenmore Dishwasher runs great. Very efficient and cleans the tough stains better than any dishwasher Ive ever used. I would recommend this to anyone looking to buy a dishwasher. Of all the dishwashers I researched at Lowes and Home Depot and Sears and Ace and other local stores, the Maytag was the lowest price with all the features I wanted.

Bought our washer dryer set from Sears in the fall of 2010. I had reservations from the start as the machines were new and the salesman was really pushing this set (on sale), with all the customers, even offering extra discounts on these models only, if customers bought that day. Apparently, they had overstock and were trying to sell them all ASAP. That was a warning to me but my husband convinced me that I was being overly suspicious. We had previously owned Maytag machines for 20 years and loved them. So I agreed. Well, I have been cursing that decision ever since. You have to hand wash/prescrub any stain on clothing, even a little make-up like blush or a little mud. Then you have to put up with an inflexible system that wont allow you manual options regarding spins and temperature or times, etc. Its all programmed. Then you put up with clanging spin cycle as it bangs against the wall. Then you pull out very wrinkled and not always cleaned clothes only to begin the most frustrating dryer experience ever. It has a mind of its own. It can actually keep spinning as it keeps adding dry time and the clothes never dry! God help you if you have a regular load. All your clothes will get stuck on the little ledge. They stay there in a heap as the machine spins and spins.The solution? You have to add a bunch of dry towels to create a lot of mass so that it keeps your laundry from getting stuck on the side. Then you have to repeat this several times cause it doesnt dry well. I will never ever shop at Sears and I will never buy Whirlpool or Maytag again. I am now saving to buy another set.

I bought a Maytag Top Loader. I soon discovered that it is not possible to do a cold water wash. After much communication with Maytag Customer Service it was determined that there is no way to bypass it. And it uses a lot of hot water, even on a cold wash. Their explanation was that the water needed to be a certain temperature to make the detergent work effectively. The same detergent that I’ve been using for 40 years with cold water in my Speed Queen. When I need to do a cold water wash, I go to my parents home and use their washer. Disappointing purchase, my last Maytag, for sure.

We bought what was supposed to be the top of the line Maytag dishwasher as part of a kitchen remodel in 2011. Well tonight it has quit working for the 3rd time! I think this is the last straw for us! I bought a new refrigerator 6 weeks ago and it is not cooling or freezing anymore. I lost all my food. I spent 50 minutes on the phone to be told that the earliest they can fix it is in three days! Maytag Centennial commercial technology washer - Bought what I thought would be a great washer given the Maytag brand about 3 years ago. We had a repairman come out and take a torn pillowcase out that was jamming. It worked for a couple of weeks, now refuses to start. We have decided to rid ourselves of the Bravos 300 washing machine and not deal with Maytag any more. I would not advise anyone to buy a washer of this type, as it never really got the clothes clean to begin with.

Maytag range model mer8875ws - Glass top broke on brand new oven over most used burner then glass spider lined out from there. Wife called Maytag and they told her that it broke from the impact of something dropping on it. I guess the man was psychic because he had no picture of SO CALLED IMPACT SITE. My Daughter got me a Maytag oven with the AquaLift technology and is a piece of Junk. Half the time the Water is still there when the cycle is over. The water has made it between the front glass pieces and the finish on the top of the stove looks horrible, it just looks dirty. The knobs are cheap and the fake chrome finish is flaking off. Unfortunately Im stuck with it because I cant afford a new one... this was a gift to me because Im disabled and it was to make my life easier.

Hello, My recently purchased dishwasher has leaked water within less than half an hour of the fifth time to be used and showed error: F8E4, dishwasher model and SN are: Model: MDB4949SKZ. Serial # : FA3003347. Registered: 09/11/2021, Ive been calling Home Depot who in turn asked the installer to check the connection, and the latter advised and reported its a manufacturer issue. And calling Maytag for several times but no response or action. On-line service scheduling of Maytag is not working!!! And the live chat is not helping, as well. Now my dishwasher is not working since more than two weeks, knowing that it has been installed only a month ago.

We Purchased a Maytag gas oven/stove three years ago believing it to be the quality of the Maytag of yesteryear, Boy have we been disappointed! When Whirlpool Corp. bought out Maytag several years ago they continued using the Maytag name only.. The quality is now less than substandard, It is a cheaply built piece of crap.. Fridge model mff2055drm00 - Purchased 2 years ago. Upon delivery and working water leaked from bottom. Called recommended service. Result took out fridge and brought in another new one. Today the fridge/freezer ices up, ends up sounding like a rocket ship. Not working efficiently. Called for authorized service. Was told needed a new thermostat... after TWO Years? Service call price $125, quote to purchase, replace and install thermostat $550. Almost $700. Big mistake buying Maytag- who knew? But never again! We are quite angry and very disappointed with the mediocre performance of this product.

First the dishwasher - Control board no longer works. Seen many people with same problem. Dishwasher sitting there useless since cant afford to replace. Will cost as much as the purchase. Stove has defect between glass on oven door. Aqua clean feature is a farce and I feel vent at bottom of oven is asking for a disaster if any grease should spill in there. Maytag will not honor or admit any defects.

Purchased Maytag dishwasher model # MDB4709PAB3 8/2012 @ Lowes in NY with extended warranty. After a while, noticed wood floor warping in front of appliance. Called repair and after several tries, they couldnt repair leak under door. After many complaints to Lowes and Maytag, was finally issued a new dishwasher 8/2013 same model #. Person that hooked it up couldnt wait around to see if all was okay. Ran dishwasher after he left and as usual for this model it leaks worse than before. Called Maytag complaint dept and they said they would issue me another dishwasher of my choice and same price through Lowes. But they never spoke to Lowes and Maytag will not call me back. I would think there must be a leak problem with this model. Do not buy. It is not worth the trouble!

My double oven was purchased over 6 years ago. They have been served yearly and work fine. The only thing is the cleaning cycle which if used at the high temperature to clean can affect the oven temperature control. I don’t use this function anymore.

MDB4949SDM1 - After owning Maytag model MDB/C-2 for thirteen (13) plus years, I decided to purchase the subject Maytag Model when my 13 year old died. Big mistake. Previous model was very simplistic in rack design and it provided user-friendly options such as two detachable baskets for silverware and a special rack for delicate items.The new model has been designed so your dishes go in on angles on the top rack and as such bowls, small plates etc never stay in place once you move the rack and the lower rack configuration was redesigned and the rear area which was open to allow for bigger pots and pans to fit better has been removed, so now you have to lay your pans on top of the tines, very difficult to low the dishwasher.Additionally, I purchased the stainless steel model; apparently in the coating process a drip pattern was sealed that you can see when sunlight hits dishwasher. Further the stainless steel face that they bond to the door has popped, so when you grab the handle the face pops in and out. Lastly the new design has an adjustable upper rack; I tried numerous times to adjust the rack and couldnt so when I called Customer Service for these issues, it basically boils down to if the Service Man comes out and determines my issues are cosmetic and the rack which Ive never been able to adjust should happen to work then I have to pay the service call as there is not warranty coverage. So I declined the Service Call and advised that this would be my last Maytag purchase. I highly recommend anyone considering this unit fully investigate and test out before buying.

Maytag Bravos Commercial Washer MVWX500XWO - This has been the worst experience with this $900 washer and breaking down in less than 2 yrs. Complete Garbage, New Locking Mechanism, now spin cycle not working. I am about to take back to Home Depot and let them have it. Garbage product - NOT WHAT MAYTAG USE TO BE... NORMAL 10 YRS NO ISSUES THIS MACHINE - STAY AWAY FROM.

Purchased my Maytag range/oven 14 years ago and it still works to this day. I had to replace both oven heating elements. I am a do it yourselfer, took me less than 5min to replace both. The cook top is easy to clean. As long as you take care of it, it should last you a long time.

Apparently the Maytag Bravos HE top loading washer is poorly designed. We have sparingly used this washer for approx 3 years and it began to make a horrible noise in the spin cycle and then to give us UL error codes. After searching on the internet we discovered that the seal around the main spin shaft and the bearings were bad. Inspection under the machine revealed a terrible rust and grease spot and splatters of rust and grease on underside of unit. This is a typical problem and this machine should have been recalled or at the very least repaired by Maytag for little if any cost. They now make a kit to fix this problem, but this should not happen after only 2-4 years of use on a $700+ machine. Very, very disappointed with Maytag! Customer service, of course, offered us nothing as pathetic 1 year warranty was expired. Ten year on the tub, like anything will go wrong with that.

Maytag french door 2015 refrigerator. Not happy at all. Freezer gets rim frost on sides of pull drawers and the smell is like dirty socks when motor is running! The whole kitchen stinks???

Maytag washer has increased my water bill; it was supposed to be energy efficient! Also, the washer will not wash a blanket. Sensors will move a large item to one side causing an uneven load which then causes numerous extra fills until stopped manually. I was told to add more items! A blanket barely fits in the tub. I had to invest in lint rollers since the rinse cycle is inefficient. This washing machine is useless. I should have stuck with Kenmore.

I bought a Maytag side by side fridge freezer in 2010 at a cost of £2000. Having come back from a week away it had entirely defrosted spoiling all the contents. An engineer came to look at it but said the fault was unrepairable so he wrote it off. Maytag (Whirlpool) think that it is perfectly ok for a 5 year old fridge freezer costing two grand should now pack up. I, on the other hand, do not... They offered me £700 of the cost of a new Maytag. Joy! I thought. However, this one does not make ice or have chilled water (the principal reason for buying Maytag in the first place). I was then told that this was the ONLY fridge freezer in the entire Maytag or Whirlpool range. Is there nothing else you can do to help? I pleaded. No was the reply. The moral of this story is going posh on an American Fridge freezer is not guarantee that you will get the after sales service that the price would suggest.

I have called numerous times and the satisfaction is out the window. The MOLD is so bad on the gasket that I can not get it off and it just keeps getting worse. My clothes smell musty even after they are washed. Really fed up... I have had different Maytags for at least 40 years and I will not purchase another one at this point. Apparently your customer service is as bad as some of your machines. My word of mouth is not good advertising for you.

We purchased a Maytag refrigerator model # MSF25D2EAS on 10-22-2012 at the Home Depot in Tracy, CA. On 2-2-2014 (15 months) we noticed a puddle on the kitchen floor. Upon inspection, we noticed that the refrigerator was not working. Went over to Home Depot and were given the name and number of the authorized Maytag repair dealer (A and E). The technician arrived on 2-5-2014 and replaced the compressor on-off /overload relay and charged $243.82. On 2-16-2014 (11 days later), the same thing happened again. The technician came on 2-19-2014. This time, it was the compressor at a cost of $800.00 plus the $75.00 service call. One can purchase the compressor online for $300.00 and I am sure that A and E buys it for a lot less. We thought about it and decided not to get it fixed because we did not know what else would go wrong and how long would the second compressor last. We talked to the Appliance Departments assistant manager and were told that Home Depot does not give any kind of consideration and she had worked there for 11 years and had not heard of any problems. She was not telling the truth or she was not aware of the numerous negative customer reviews online. She also informed me that I should have bought a warranty. We have bought quite a few refrigerators in 50 years and they lasted for many years. Home Depot sells inferior products. Maytag must sell these inferior products at discounted prices and of course, some stores are looking for larger profits. I do not trust Home Depot any longer and will not purchase appliances there anymore. It was a very expensive lesson - the price of the refrigerator, loss of food (twice) and the stress it caused. We bought a new refrigerator at Sears and it was not a MAYTAG.

I was told to at first to just leave the door open, then when that did not work I was told that I should bleach my machine at least once a week which I did. That did not work either. Then I was told to buy the product REFRESH and that would take care of the smell. That did not work either. So I am at my wits end with the stench of my clothes.

We bought a Maytag Neptune Washer and dryer package from Home Depot in 2004 and had nothing but problems ever since. Such things as washer had mold constantly. Also, clothes seemed to have a foul odor after washing. The dryer always seemed to have to be ran twice to get clothes dry.

I have a two year old version of this dishwasher (MDB894995BB3) and now the start and cancel light on the control panel stopped working. I now see that this is a common theme with this model and I feel it is their obligation to repair these units with permanent fix and not the same thing that will fail again. I have 3 different Maytag appliances all bought 2 years ago from Home Depot and they are all broken. I will never buy a Maytag product again. I might replace this dishwasher as I know it will fail again. 2 years on a dishwasher is a complete failure. Unreliable Junk. Do not buy Maytag.

The Maytag Commercial Technology wash machine, the one with the clear top, leaves soap residue on our clothes. We have tried different detergents, always high efficiency, using the extra rinse, using the deep fill and nothing works. We have tried cleaning with vinegar and using the clean washer cycle. We had 2 technicians look at it, one tore the machine apart, both said nothing is wrong with the machine. So, we are left to believe that we are stuck with a machine the leaves soap residue on our clothes as Maytag will do nothing for us because of the assessments of the technicians.

Wish there was some way to secure all dishwasher under the cabinets better. It tips forward slightly, but gets caught on counter top, so it won’t fall over. The dishwasher itself is truly amazing. I love the stainless steel inside. I ensure I use the dishwasher cleaner on hottest cycle once a month. I have no odors. Both racks hold up well and the silverware tray has never given me any problems. I even like the thin little third top rack, which is where I lay my larger flat knives or spatula. As long as I use the finish dishwasher cleaner, the dishes come out sparkling. And a few times I have forgotten to fill the finish container, the dishes still sparkle. My teenagers do the dishes a few times a week. They don’t wash them off ahead of time. On occasion I have to pick a few pieces of corn or food out of the bottom, but the dishes still sparkle and the leftover food caught on the drain, well it looks clean enough to eat. I would definitely buy it again.

I purchased a refrigerator in Aug. 2012 from Home Depot. In June 2013, it broke. I contacted Maytag/Whirlpool and they had three companies come out to try and fix it over a four-week period when finally it was determined that it was unrepairable. Now I was told that we can get an exchange but now they have the incorrect delivery address and the person supposed to be handling my case has been on vacation and I left several messages. I contacted Maytag for someone else to help and cant seem to get anyone for the past 2 weeks. This has cost me money for food lost, time from work and time making calls.

About 4 years we purchased a dishwasher model # MDB7749AWM2 made by Maytag.The first part of Aug. 2015 it quit working. I had a repairman look at it and he said it was the control panel and he would order one. He ordered it and we waited a couple of weeks, no part. He called about it and they told him Sept. 9th it would be sent. Sept. 9 came went and no part. He called them again and they told him they had no record of the order. So he ordered it again in few weeks, was told it was back-ordered. This happened a couple more times and I told him to cancel the order. I would go buy a new one but not a Maytag.

I like the full width drawer for large items. Our Maytag refrigerator is 12 years old and just beginning to make noises and get too cold. The little plastic features for setting the temp and humidity on the produce doors were the first to break. Water is inside door which is not as convenient.
