Bought a refrigerator from Home Depot in November 2012 for a cost of $1,647.48. In August 2013 it stops making ice day 1, stops cooling & it is running nonstop, all lights on display go out day 2. Called Home Depot & was given another number to call, called that number was told someone would be out next day to look at it. Also told my warranty would expire in November & I needed to buy another warranty. Maytag customer service was very rude. If their product was any good why do I have to pay extra for another warranty. A $1,647.48 refrigerator that only lasts 9 months, REALLY!!! Do not purchase Maytag appliances if you dont want to lose your money. Shame on Home Depot for not standing behind their merchandise. If you have a problem while warranty is in effect, Home Depot should replace product.

Was very happy with choice when it arrived. Bought October of 2010. Now, this summer, nothing but problems. Honestly weekly cleaning of vents underneath, sheets of ice in freezer, refrigerator not staying cool, constant frost plugging areas, and no more ideas of how to make it work. I already quit with Kenmore after terrible problems with their appliances and now when Maytag doesnt stand up for years what are we supposed to buy? OUTRAGED with American quality of products and disposables. UGH!!!

Maytag French door Bottom Mount Model # MFT2976AEW02 - Purchased this model refrigerator in late 2013. Had minor problems with ice maker for last 6 months, not have freezer problems, as the bottom freezer is not keeping food frozen. Called repairman today. He ran 64 checks on refrigerator, said to keep eye on problem and he will re check in 24 hours. Called private company, Maytag in Latrobe. They referred us to the Maytag repairman. We will keep you posted. We moved all of our frozen food to a downstairs older freezer for safekeeping. Keep checking, we will update.

This new refrigerator, which was delivered to my house on 9/20/17, is so loud that I cannot have a conversation in my kitchen. It is supposed to be energy efficient. I do not know how that is possible as it runs 50 out of every 60 minutes. I contacted their customer service about this appliance. They repeatedly put me on hold or disconnected me. If I could give lower than one star, I would. Learn from my mistake - dont purchase from this company.

In August of 2009, we had an opportunity to remodel our kitchen plus add new windows and doors. How exciting! SO we had put down new flooring in our kitchen that matched our oak cabinets and since we had a little money saved, we wanted to purchase new appliances to match. We purchased a Maytag side by side with ice and water in the door. It also had the fingerprint resistant stuff on the outside. It cost about $1300. You buy name brand so they will last a while but here we are November 12, 2014, 7 years later and the compressor goes out. If repaired, it will cost $8090 to fix. Why do I want another Maytag. We bought this refrigerator one year & 3 months ago & we have had various issues that are now no longer covered under the warranty. The pantry drawer has a peg on the side that is plastic & broke off on the right side. Will have to replace the whole right side panel. One of the door handles is coming loose which should be an easy fix, but its just annoying that it happened at all. Now the control panel is reading OFF/OFF & isnt responding at all. Tried unplugging for 10 secs, then plug it back in, but no luck. I cannot find any info online regarding this issue, so we will have to call Maytag. Hopefully, there is an easy resolution to this problem & we wont have to buy a new motherboard.

Purchased side-by-side with bottom freezer 2009 after Hurricane Ike. Fridge has stopped cooling. Called Maytag Customer Center and was told nothing can be done only to find theres a 10 year warranty on the compressor. This malfunction should not be an issue after 8 years. My GE fridge still works after 25+ years. Horrible!

I have an MSD2542VEB01 model refrigerator purchased slightly over two years ago. I have the same problem as many others, which is the plastic breaking on the shelves. The first time, it was within a year and the part was under warranty. It is now a year and a half later and one is broken beyond use and another is cracking again. Maytag refuses to help me as there is no “recall and the plastic is not available separately from the easily removable glass of the shelf. The least expensive price that I can find for the shelf is $107 and I need two of them. $214 (plus shipping) when all I need is two pieces of plastic? Be very careful when selecting your appliances.

We purchased a Maytag refrigerator model # 1TXEGMYWOO. The refrigerator part froze all of the food in it. We moved the temperature selector to the last place (two notches away from the recommended setting), and the food still froze. The furniture store we purchased it from replaced it with another refrigerator (same model). And that one did the exact same thing. We had to throw out more groceries. Obviously, this model is defective. We are now waiting for the store to replace this one (with a different model and brand). They have been very good about trying to make things right for us. Maytag, however, is a different story. They were very rude and indifferent when I called to complain. Their policy is to repair or replace the part (temperature gauge). I dont want a new part. This is a new product. And I bought it expecting it to work. I have had to throw hundreds of dollars worth of groceries away. I was very disappointed in their attitude. I will not purchase another Maytag item again. They used to have a good reputation. They now sell inferior products and do not stand behind their products.

Maytag mod# MBF2258XE81, Ser# K04712605. 3 years old. At 6 months old, the drain plug clogged. Freezing water under pull out drawer of freezer, spilling onto kitchen floor. Fixed under warranty. 9 months later the same thing. I had to pay $190. Now, it has been happening for 6 months, and I use a spatula to lift the sheet of ice out. I have to do this every 10 days, or it leaks onto the floor, tile and rug in my kitchen. This is just wrong. I see I am not the only one. If Maytag does not fix this known problem, I guess I will get a new fridge. I had my last fridge for 21 years, never had problem. Thought I was upgrading.

The Deli drawer randomly falls, shelves in general do not fit well. Rough edges on door corners are a hazard especially for children. Service call line was extremely poor with a total disregard to customer concerns. It has been a very bad decision!

We moved into our first house just over two years ago and decided we needed to get a new refrigerator. We did a ton of research online, reading reviews, etc. We found a few not so great complaints regarding Maytag; however, we took our chances. (Note that we live in a house built in the 40s, so the fridge space is small and we needed a fridge size that is smaller than normal. We didnt have many options.) Well, a little less than 12 months later (yes, luckily right before the warranty expired) our ice dispenser stopped working properly. The mini-ice door would not close properly, resulting in a lot of frost in where the ice door was located. (There was so much we couldnt open the freezer door. It would get stuck.) So, we called out the repair guy and he said he had never seen this issue before and basically had to replace the whole flap and parts. Sweet. It was fixed and cost was covered! Well, about 5 months later, it happened again! Ah, they got it fixed yet again. Well, another six months later and after the warranty expired (lucky us), the fridge completely stopped cooling. (And it just happened to be Halloween, not a great day for a house issue.) So, we had to remove all our perishable food and place it in a cooler (which works hundred times better than Maytag products), and move all frozen food to a family members house 15 minutes away (luckily!). We were also super lucky we found a repair company that could come out at 5pm the next day, which happened to be a Friday! Awesome company (Conners Repair in Metro-Detroit). He concluded the defrost board was broken, meaning it was freezing and creating frost and then not defrosting, clogs the vents and not allowing circulation to occur. He was shocked when he found out we only had this fridge for 2 years and said this is something that normally happens in 20-year old fridges. I then decided to call Maytag and nicely requested a refund for the issue. I was told no due to the warranty expiring and also because we didnt use a Maytag repair company. I didnt want to wait a week as I thought this was something that needed immediate attention. I also am not sure why it matters who you get to fix your fridge. I have an invoice for proof of the issue and the repairman even said hed call to verify the issue. I don’t understand why I have to pay for something that was not properly produced, and not to mention the time out of my schedule to deal with Maytags issues. I now know not to buy any Maytag products due to the lack quality. I guess I learned the hard way.

I have a 4 year old Maytag refrigerator, model F2557HE, with French doors above and freezer below. The compressor is dying, which amounts to total failure of the fridge. Periodically the compressor tries to start, there is a whirring sound that lasts and lasts and repeats as the food defrosts. Then mysteriously hours or days later it starts to run again and the melted ice cube bin turns into an iceberg. The appliance repair company tried replacing the starter to no avail, and now tells me it is the compressor itself. Each time it stops, I transfer my food to the 30 year old Whirlpool in the garage which still works fine.

Built a new house, bought new appliances for the kitchen. Like others, did all the research, wanted to buy American made. Wow, did we ever make a mistake. Refrigerator is just over 2 years old. It is worthless. Repairman, Maytag Certified, says that it appears to be internal problems and probably come from the factory that way. He suggested I contact Maytag directly and they should be able to make things right for me and my family.So, I called, sat on hold for 10-15 minutes, and was finally connected to a customer service employee. I explained all that I knew about the problem, she pulled the repairmans notes and the notes of the technician that had spoken with the repairman. After reviewing the file, she informed me that my 2-year-old refrigerator was out of warranty and there was nothing that could be done.What ever happened to American Made companies standing behind their product? I didnt spend $2000 on a refrigerator that would last me 2 years. I expected 7-10 years, AT LEAST! I expected a company with the name MAYTAG to show some shame for creating a piece of junk and charging a customer this much money for something they know is obviously flawed from the factory. Shame? No. Guilt? None whatsoever.Caution to those considering a Maytag product. Run away! Go find a more reputable company. Go find a company who views customer service and quality products as a priority. I didnt purchase the cheapest refrigerator on purpose. I paid extra for American made and what I thought was a quality product sold by a quality company. Reality has now set in.

To begin with, the Bravos 300 washer was bought because we owned a Maytag previously and it was with us for 25 years. It was still running when we gave it away and the only problem was a small oil leak starting at the drive. The new washer has no agitator, just the new style flat thing at the bottom of the tub. You cannot wash a set of fitted sheets without it turning into a tangled mess. The washer quit working after about 5 years and all indications pointed to the control. The control would reset after unplugging, but would freeze immediately when you tried to enter a command. We live in an isolated place and it is not feasible to fly in a service person. I ordered a new control, but there was no change in function. After several hours of detective work, it turns out that the mickey mouse plug for the electrical connection at the pump had broken inside. Because the pump would not work, the whole control would freeze. We will never buy another Maytag.

At 10 months old, the compressor fails. It took one week to fix. Exactly two months later, the compressor fails again. This time, there are no compressors in stock per the manufacturer and the extended warranty folks. Ten days and counting. 90 degrees outside. No idea when they will be available. It’s time to walk this one year old to the curb and get a responsibly built one. I should have held on to my old one. DO NOT CONSIDER A MAYTAG refrigerator.

The fridge is very loud, leaks water from ice maker, runs all the time. I have had two repairman out to try and fix it but still not fixed. It is one year old now. If I could get my $2100.00 back I would take it and run. It so loud we have to turn up the TV so we can hear it. Drives us crazy.

Delivered 10-4-19. 12-9-19 - Not Cooling, Called Whirlpool on hold for exactly 1 hour. 12-11-19 - Repair service here - ordered new Control Panel. 12-17-19 - New Control Panel Replaced. 1-6-20 - Freezer is not freezing. Control Panel going up and down and blinking constantly. Called Whirlpool - on hold for exactly 1 hour. They called service repair. 1-8-20 - Service Repair here and ordered 2 thermostats: 1 for freezer and 1 for refrigerator. 1-15-20 - Service Repair here to install 2 thermostats - At this time I purchased the extended warranty for $119.30 for 3 years.3-1-21 - Control Panel completely went out again. I called Whirlpool - on hold exactly 1 hour before they answer phone. I am so pissed. They call Service Repair. 3-3-21 - Service Repair here. They order new Control Panel. States these panels are continuously going out and they are having to replace them everywhere. 3-12-21 - I called Service Repair since we havent heard anything. ETA on control panel from Whirlpool is not scheduled until 3-19. I am really pissed by now.In the meantime I have been on hold with Whirlpool for 47 minutes. At exactly 1 hour being on hold, they answer my call. Im told I have to wait. There is nothing they can do. I told her we were buying ice every other day at $10.07 for 2 20# bags and they wont replace money. Told me to throw my items away and they would replace all the food for $250.00 one time during the 3 year contract period. The service is Customer service on their contract is terrible. Waiting for parts is even worse. This is a piece of crap appliance and we will never buy another Maytag.

Maytag model MBF1958XEQ1 frost build up and ice build up bottom freezer 2011 model. Recently refrigerator not able to stay cold. Contacted Associated Service Corp. because my fridge had a ten year warranty on the compressor only. It cost me $377 dollars to have a service tech change the circuit board and remove a rubber drain valve that was blocking the excess water drain to the evaporator tray. It is working well now but will keep looking for ice build up.

Like many others Ive read about online, our Maytag fridge model MFI2269VEW5 with bottom mount freezer has ice forming at the bottom of the freezer compartment. The ice then melts and runs onto the kitchen floor. At this point, I am able to prevent this leakage problem by removing the 1/2-inch layer of ice that builds up about once a week. Using a stiff plastic spatula, I am sometimes able to remove the ice in one large sheet but usually it breaks up and has to be removed in pieces. I have seen several videos online showing how this problem can be fixed but as a pensioner with limited income, I am sure the expense of a repairman would be prohibitive. I could likely make the suggested repairs myself but because of a knee replacement, I am not able to kneel for any length of time so that is out of the question. Besides, when we purchased this fridge 3 years ago, we expected it to run trouble free for the rest of our days. This is obviously a design problem and Maytag should be covering the cost for all repairs. However, it is a sad reality that Maytag and their owner, the Whirlpool Corporation is only interested in making a profit to satisfy their stock holders. They apparently only pay lip service to making quality products that last and customer satisfaction seems to be a thing of the past.

Bought a Maytag bottom door refrigerator/freezer about 3 years ago and within 6 months had the bottom drawer ice freeze issue that is so common all over the internet. Today is the THIRD ** time Ive had to take this piece of crap product apart and clear the ice. For all of you who have contacted Maytag in the past... Ill bet you got the same response I did when the fridge was new. They claim there are NO KNOWN ISSUES. They actually told me they had NO RECORD of previous complaints with this issue. MAYTAG SUCKS! I wouldnt take a free appliance from them. Worst customer service possible and they take no responsibility for their ** design and problems. There should be a class action suit for this issue. I bought a Maytag refrigerator over the summer - the French door and drawer freezer. Expensive but crappy. After about a month motor starting making noise then is shut down. Called the store. They came and swapped it out and not even two weeks later same thing. Looked up product and all awful reviews. Never thought to look up reviews before purchasing. Could of save myself the headache. Not to mention my daughter was like, Mom stop buying that brand. It sucks. Did you not realize our washing machine is the same brand and after almost two years it started acting up and your last washing machine you had for 10 years before it even gave you any problems.

I purchased my Maytag Refrigerator in Feb 2013. It is model MFF2558VEW7. It has the French doors w/ freezer at the bottom. This past week, I lost everything in the freezer. I call the Home Depot where I purchased it and they said that I have to call Maytag. I did and they sent a repairman out. It needed a compressor. After only 8 months, the compressor goes out? Why should this fridge be repaired and I not be given a new one? With all the problems with the Maytag, there needs to be one big class action filed. I asked for a loaner because it would take up to five work days for them to order the part. The answer was, We do not provide loaners.

I bought a refrigerator from Home Depot in July 2013. In late November 2014, I noticed water on the floor in front of the fridge. I called the Maytag customer service and reported the problem.. The customer service rep explained to me that Maytag discovered a design flaw in the part that allows the water to drain when going through the defrost cycle. I also called Home Depot. Their response was it was my problem because the fridge was out of warranty and I did not buy an extended warranty plan. After two more calls to Maytag, they scheduled a service appointment. The service repairman told me the same thing about the design flaw. I have the old part and the package the new part was in. The two parts are completely different. I requested that Maytag or Home Depot replace the fridge or give me credit for the amount I spent. Maytag is now saying there was not a design flaw and because of that, Home Depot refuses to replace the appliance. I will never buy another Maytag product or shop at Home Depot. The extended warranty is a way to place the responsibility directly on the consumer and eliminating the responsibility of the manufacturer and the store.

Our Maytag refrigerator was about a year old when we noticed rust on the edge of the stainless steel doors. I called Maytag and they were nice enough to replace the doors even though the warranty had expired by their standards. Keep in mind, the warranty starts when you purchase the product, not when you install it. We ordered our appliances from Lowes well in advance of our kitchen remodel so we would have them when we needed them. The time our appliances sat in Lowes warehouse used up two months of our warranty.Now, the new stainless steel doors are rusting and they are refusing to do any thing about it. Should stainless steel rust? Maytag doesnt seem to care whether their product performs the way they should. Its all about the warranty. Once the warranty lapses, they could care less whether their product blows up. Thats the customers problem. Whatever happened to building a quality product that lasted and customers bought for generations? Obviously, thats a thing of the past.My goal in writing this is to make consumers aware of appliance warranties. When I spoke to Lucas, a Maytag customer service supervisor, he informed me their products offered no warranty on the finish of the product. So, according to Lucas, the finish on your brand new Maytag appliance could flake off like dandruff and its your problem regardless whether its a manufacturing defect or not. Remember, buyer beware!

Purchased a Maytag fridge in August of 2010. Had issues January 2014 - needed a new circuit board. At the happy cost $230.00. Well it is now May 2014 and had to have the repair man here again for another circuit board $258.64. Maytag will not stand behind their product or parts they use in their products. They flat out told us that we shouldnt have to replace the circuit board that often and then said they wont stand behind it. So buyer beware. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING MAYTAG!!!!!

Our new refrigerator was pissing all over the kitchen floor. We had to disconnect the ice maker after an alleged repair part was supplied. (We had to pay a plumber to install it.) It didnt work, so we finally had to disconnect all the parts related to the ice maker. Here it is July, and ice cubes would really be appreciated right now. I get angry when I see all the Maytag commercials that pop up on the internet!

Side by side refrigerator model #msd255oveu01. I bought this refrigerator Apr. 2011... The 1st year, the ice kept sticking in machine or freezing up. Now they have had to replace the modules 3 times. Once fall of 2012 and and again yesterday, 3/19/14 and they had to come back today to replace that one. I have called Maytag and they wont stand behind it since the warranty is over. I have told them that this is an ongoing thing with the ice maker and I have had to have it serviced ever since I have bought it. I told them from the git go that the ice maker needed replace. The ice dispenser also drops an ice cube on the floor on occasion and if I use crushed ice it jams up. This product is defective and is not a good product.

My Maytag refrigerator was purchased from Home Depot less than 3 years ago. It is a French door, bottom freezer draw model #MFI2569VEA1. Every four days, there is a huge puddle of water at the base of the unit and it is starting to ruin my ceramic tiles. I tried the online video solutions to no avail. Home Depot wont repair it, they told me to contact Maytag. Maytag wants me to purchase a $375 warranty, which is 30% of what I paid for the refrigerator. I will never buy a Maytag refrigerator again, or any Maytag product for that matter. They once stood for solid reliability and peace of mind, now you get a piece of junk instead. I cant even sell it on Craigslist if I wanted to because who would want it? If a class action suit is ever initiated, Ill be on board. I hope Consumer Affairs contacts me.

I purchased a Maytag French Door Refrigerator in July 2011 from Lowes online and had it delivered on August 16, 2011. In September 2011, I could not get the ice maker to work. So I called Lowes and they called in a repairman. He came and replaced a part to fix the problem. I dont have any complaint with his work but here it is, October, and the ice maker makes maybe four ice cubes at a time on a good day.I am really disappointed with this product and according to their commercials, I would like to know which of these techs are setting around doing nothing, maybe he could come and fix my fridge once and for all. I would sure find it difficult to recommend any Maytag appliance as a result of this mess. I could call a repairman myself, but I was under the impression thats what a warranty was for. According to Lowes we are required to call them and they will schedule a repairman or the warranty isnt any good. I replaced a GE French Door with this Maytag, I sure am sorry I chose this Maytag.I know an ice maker problem is minor compared to some of the complaints on this appliance, but when you pay good money for a product you have every right to expect everything about it to work. Im just wondering where these appliances are actually made?

Fridge model mff2055drm00 - Purchased 2 years ago. Upon delivery and working water leaked from bottom. Called recommended service. Result took out fridge and brought in another new one. Today the fridge/freezer ices up, ends up sounding like a rocket ship. Not working efficiently. Called for authorized service. Was told needed a new thermostat... after TWO Years? Service call price $125, quote to purchase, replace and install thermostat $550. Almost $700. Big mistake buying Maytag- who knew? But never again! We are quite angry and very disappointed with the mediocre performance of this product.

Maytag msd2650kes refrigerator - I replaced compressor switch three times then compressor went out after only almost four years. We bought all new Maytag when remodeling. Never again will we ever be that stupid again.

I bought my black refrigerator in 2006. It has ice in the door and freezer on left side and refrigerator on right. I have not had any problem with my refrigerator and it continues to serve me well. When I need to buy another one, I will probably get a stainless that doesnt show handprints.

Our Maytag ref. is not quite 4 years old and it is leaking water on to our floor. The ref. is a French door with water and ice in the door and freezer on the bottom. We have to clean up puddles of water at least 3 or 4 times a day. I see that this is not an isolated problem, as others have complained about this defect doing the same thing with their Maytag refs. Why hasn’t Consumer Affairs demanded a recall on these expensive defective refrigerators to date?

We recently purchased a Maytag refrigerator, love it, no problems until the mystery person in my house accidentally broke the slide out door for bottom drawer. Maytag bottom freezer / refrigerator: What a low-quality operation these guys are operating. We have a 5-year-old double door unit, which is not a cheap ticket item; and we thought that Maytag was from the days of old. The compressor failed along with ice makers and some high-use parts inside. I can understand the plastic lids and guides wearing out with heavy use, but not the compressor. I called Maytag and was directed to their proud Tennessee Service Location. It might as well be in China, where the real owners are located. She said, Oh well, we build quality units that are to last 12 years. However, they are man-made, and you cant count on that being a positive thing. What arrogance. I might get stuck with another brand from Asia. But it will never be a Maytag or any other in their family of products. The repairman is really busy these days.

I purchased a Maytag refrigerator from a local business (Decker and Sons in Grand Rapids, Michigan). The fridge is a French door style with the freezer on the bottom and a water dispenser/ice maker in the left door. In the 19 months weve owned the unit weve had to have service three times. One time for the freezer door not shutting correctly, and two times because the refrigerator portion quit cooling (freezer was fine). Both times it was due to something breaking that defrosts the area behind the vegetable drawers.Both times all of our food went bad. Second time it took almost two weeks to fix (Diamond was the repair service). Now, after the service, the left door doesnt shut correctly. The quality of the unit is so questionable that I hesitate to fill it back up with food. Its just plain old junk. Luckily, we purchased a five year warranty when we purchased it...but we thought the service would be performed by the shop where we bought it, but its farmed out to other repair providers.

I have a Maytag side by side. In the first year, the ice maker failed and I had to replace it (in warranty/no charge). In the fifth year, the compressor failed (no warranty) and it hasnt been replaced. Since then, I have been looking at reviews and warranties of new refrigerators. The warranties (unless you want to pay $3,000+) are all one year limited. The reviews are scathing and it doesnt matter what brand. My question is, why dont you/we all get together and file a class action suit and demand millions in damages? Complaining wont get you anywhere with these people; however, hitting them in the pocket book will make them pay attention, especially if the penalty is severe enough.

We bought our beautiful Maytag refrigerator model MFI2568AES at our local Home Depot approx. 4 to 5 years ago. The refrigerator stopped cooling last week and we had just renewed the warranty for 3 years. The service repair stated that the problem was not covered (internal corrosion) and they could not do anything for us. Is this how long Maytag refrigerators last? Home Depot was also not willing to do anything for us. Were very upset and disappointed and using ice chests for now.

Our refrigerator is just 2 years old and it have been leaking for over a year. It started leaking right when the warranty expired. I am so mad. I called them and they said... You can purchase a warranty for $400. I am like.... what!!! I called my home warranty and they fixed it for $100. A few months later it is leaking again! I am so mad... It is a $1200 refrigerator. What can we do as a group to fight for this? There have to be something that we can do?? It is so frustrating. If there is an attorney that can take care of this group that would be great.

I purchased a Maytag stainless steel French door model the middle of 2006. While cleaning the French doors with the cleaning product given to me with the purchase of the new fridge, I notice what looked like coffee on the doors. It wasnt, it was rust on the stainless steel doors. I called the service tech and they came out. Rubbing the fridge, he told me it wasnt rust. He took a closer look and found that it was in fact rust. He called his office; they told him that rusting on the doors has been an issue lately. He charged me $65.00 for what I already knew. I called Maytag and it took a while, but they decided to send new doors. However, I had to have a Maytag rep install it, which would cost me. I didnt have it done. Two years later in 2010, the French doors felt hot to the touch and the inside was warm and not cooling. The freezer was fine. I called for a tech to come out and it’s another $65.00 to fix a fan motor that blows cool air from the bottom to the top. Oh, it’s not under warranty because it wasnt inside with the motor. Total cost: $235.00. In 2010, I woke up and opened the fridge to get milk out. It was warm and so was the inside of the fridge. I thought it was the same problem, but the freezer also was warm. Upset and not wanting to pay for this again, I unplugged the thing and started using a little fridge that I have stored in the basement. It has no freezer. Today, I finally got over being pissed and decided that I would have a tech come out and find out and finally fix it. The tech said that the compressor has failed and it would cost $790.00 to fix. Im not having it fixed, so it’s another $65.00 gone. The tech said that the compressor in Maytags/Whirlpools has been a pretty big issue lately. All I can say is that I will not ever purchase Whirlpool products again. From inside to the outside, this product has been unsatisfactory. I just noticed that the rubber is failing on one of the French doors. Wake up, Whirlpool. Model number is MFD2561HES.

The refrigerator works well. No problems. Easy to move to clean behind it. Good value. I havent had any problems since I bought it. Keeps a steady temp; Its exactly the size I needed; has plenty of space. Its a plain fridge with a reasonable price!

I bought a brand new top/bottom refrigerator from them. 1 1/2 yrs later, the cooling stopped and had 2 repair guys come out. They replaced it with BRAND NEW refrigerator. Now 1 1/2 yrs later, the same issue is happening. ALL my food I buy goes to waste. I bought NEW so this wouldnt happen. What happened to the old fridges from back in the day! Maytag has the WORST Customer Service!!!

We too were having a water leak from the French door freezer and a sheet of ice under the freezer drawer. The repairman came and told us that it was a common problem with the French Door fridge and an easy fix. Maytag has a new P type defrost hose that doesnt freeze up. He changed the part, $149.75 bill, and no more problem. Should Maytag have let consumers know this was a part that was failing? Yes, definitely. But at least the fix was reasonably cheap.

I innocently purchased cash from BrandsMart a Maytag French refrigerator MF12665XEM 7, serial #K22311026 in 06/30/2012 in Boca Raton, FL. I assumed I had bought the last fridge I would ever need because it was supposed to be a product that never needs servicing, according to the wide advertising of the bored Maytag repairmen. So I did not buy a warranty. This fridge is completely useless 3.5 years later and I do not have a leg to stand on, Maytag assures me. The only part thats still working is the compressor, which is also the only part that is warranted! Coincidence? What do you think? I cannot afford to replace it. Neither can I afford to fix it.It started with water from the lower freezer pouring out on the kitchen floor. The next few days the cooling element in the upper fridge went, followed by the inability of the fridge to make ice. Then the freezer at the bottom went completely. This appliance was well cared for by me, personally, ever since I bought it. In a week, it was totally gone (with the exception of the compressor). It has been inspected by accredited appliance repairmen who have told me it is gone! Gone? $2200 gone? I am a widow living on SS, now with no fridge. I bought this appliance with what I made from the sale of my house, when they couldnt give them away in 2012. I need a fridge! This is South Florida and temps even now are in the 90s F. I just want everyone to be aware that Maytag went bankrupt several years ago. They were bought out by another company that still puts the little Maytag sticker on, and all the products are made in Mexico. Apparently all the lawsuits wiped out the company. I did not know this when spent several thousand dollars on one of the best Maytag refrigerators a few years ago. I had nothing but problems with it, and literally had to fight with customer service while it was still under warranty. Needless to say, it only lasted 7 years before the compressor went out, which is roughly $1000 to fix. Kenmore here come...

Horrible Refrigerator MSB27C2XAM00. I bought this refrigerator November 2013. Over the past 5 months I have made over 10 calls to Maytag customer service. Each phone call averages 30-45 minutes in length. In total I have and have had 6 service repair visits. Within 4 weeks of acquiring the unit, the letters on the ice/water dispenser wore off. They replaced the panel and within 4 weeks the letters wore off on the replacement panel. The subsequent calls made to customer service were regarding slow water dispensing and shrinking ice cubes. I was advised in order to maintain water speed and decent sized ice cube production I would have to replace the filter every time the water dispensing slows, which is on average every 4 to 6 weeks (each filter costs $40).When I asked why I would have to change the filter so frequently when the packaging instructions with the water filter states you can expect an average of 6 months use or 200 gallons, (mind you we are a family of 2 adults and one child under the age of 10 surely not consuming 200 gallons of water within 4 weeks), Maytag advised me to attain a whole house water filtration system. I was told that the water supply to my home must require extra filtration which is why the filters are not lasting. I asked if other NYC residents have made such complaints. Maytag advised they cannot share this information for confidentiality reasons. I told the rep that I did not want specific names/address of the complainants. I just wanted to know if there were any other similar complaints! If its the NYC water supply I would have to believe there would be similar complaints. Maytag would not advise.They will not budge in replacing the unit. After spending $1,400 on this refrigerator I am now expected to invest $500 annually on water filters in order for the refrigerator to work properly. I was also advised that if another service tech came to my home and the issue was found to be the same I would be responsible for payment of the service call. I did my research before purchasing this Maytag product. I ultimately selected Maytag for their reputation. I am so disappointed with this unit and with the company that I will never purchase another Maytag appliance and I will advise everyone I know to never purchase from this company again. Such a disappointment!

I have been trying to get my refrigerator repaired for over 5 months through the extended service plan I paid for. They sent out a service repairman. He could not repair the refrigerator without some parts so he ordered parts. We waited months to find out he can not get the part anymore that he ordered. So now Maytag Extended Plans and Service Power said they would have to replace the whole refrigerator but every time I call about it, they give me the runaround and say someone will be calling me back within 48 hours.I never get a call back. I give them a few days, then I call back and get the same runaround again. Im getting nowhere with these people. My refrigerator is a $6,500 refrigerator that Im sure they just dont want to replace or offer me anything for that matter. They should abide by the contract I have with them.

We had our kitchen redone by Home Depot in Sept. 2006. It was gutted and all was replaced: walls, heat windows, doors, lights, appliances. The Maytag refrigerator stopped working 7 years later. I feel an expensive appliance should last longer than that.

The engineers at Maytag saved a few pennies by only using one thermistor for temperature control. It is in the box. There is nothing monitoring the temperature in the freezer. If you put your fridge in the garage where the temp is 40 degrees, the motor will never come on, and your frozen foods will melt! In my new MRT118FFFZ01 unit, the temperature in the box varies by plus or minus 3 degrees F, but the freezer varies from minus1 1 to plus 25 degrees F. 36 degrees difference! Lousy design. Have had two service calls, and they both said that this was the way it was designed and there is no fix for it.

Shame on Maytag! Customer Service is appalling! Paid 2500 for one of their top of the line refrigerator/freezer and had the repair people 5 times in one year. It was determined that it is a bad model number that Maytag wont recall but knows it is faulty. Started with ice build up in freezer making it sound like a plane taking off. It kept running trying to defrost (energy efficient-right). The repairman put in a request to have the product replaced based on symptoms and freezer being at 26 degrees. We had to wait five business days for Maytag to review it. I have a family and was having guests. They told me to buy a dorm refrigerator and they would send me a small credit towards it in 4 to 6 weeks. They finally agreed to replace the known faulty model, but I have to wait for the exchange team to contact me (2 weeks later). I keep calling and leaving messages but cant get the exchange team to even return my calls. I have my sons graduation this weekend and I dont have a freezer and my refrigerator is faulty with all my vegetables rotting within two days. It also took two days to originally get someone in management to call me back (even though it did no good - she cant help me). You cannot talk to management if you call customer service. They downright refuse! What a company!

I have done widespread reading and realize that the front panel flashing and a clanging noise coming from the fridge, as well as it not cooling or freezing or the water dispenser not working, is a common issue. My extended warranty had run out, and as I rely on the fridge given Im insulin-diabetic and have meds to store, I phoned Maytag to see if they would help regarding the part. No joy. It means that as I cannot to pay a repairman hundreds of dollars to repair it, I have to order the HV board myself and will attempt to fix it. I am hugely disillusioned with Maytag and would never recommend it to anyone.

We have had this refrigerator (Maytag Side By Side Refrigerator with Ice Dispenser 27 CU) for 5 years this month and have already had to have it serviced once and now the ice dispenser just went out. I wish there was a brand out there that did not have problems and when problems occur, you do not get the runaround to get them fixed!

Maytag French Door Fridge Model MFT267AEW10 - Not even 1 month out of warranty and the water line solenoid is leaking. It seems the water line installed at the factory was pulled so tightly that it has caused the solenoid inlet to start leaking. We really researched this refrigerator and thought we were buying the best. Not so, Maytag wont warranty it. The last purchase of Maytag I will ever make. We should have bought the Samsung but we were trying to buy American. Wont make that mistake again. Not a smart investment. Refrigerators are supposed to last a good ten years. How sad.

I purchased the Maytag MFI2670XEM0 3 Door Refrigerator in Oct 2012. Thank God I purchased the extended warranty. The freezer has had issues with improper sealing since I bought it. It builds up ice around the bottom of the freezer where the seal meets. So bad it prevents it from closing. It happens fast, so I have to scrape it off every week minimum, to keep it closed. They have replaced the seals twice, all of the slide rails, twice and it still doesnt close right. I thought when I moved to Florida, I wouldnt have to scrape ice.Next: Ice maker quit working and had to replace that. Now, I came out this morning and about busted my ** when I slipped on all the water flooding my kitchen. The ice maker has a stupid little fitting on top of the refrigerator that has a rubber bulb connected to the ice maker water line. It split in half and every time the ice maker cycles, it pours water out that fitting and down the side. Why in the ** did they design it like that? It has caused damage to my cabinets and tile floor from running under it.Im sick of this appliance. I thought Maytag was known for quality. What happened to that? What a disappointing piece of junk and Im stuck with it unless I want to put out money for something different. There should be a Lemon Law rule for appliances like this. I have asked and get nothing from the warranty service but silence (crickets). They are sending out a tech again but that will require two service calls because they always have to order parts, which takes 2-3 weeks. Ive had to call them at least 5 times, which has amounted to no less than 10 service calls and here we go again. Stay clear of these units at all cost.

My Maytag Refrigerator Freezer model MFI2569VEM4 started leaking water into base under bottom freezer door. It then fills up and freezes into solid sheet of ice and overflows and leaks into floor. I bought a brand new Maytag bottom freezer fridge on Aug. 12th, 2012. The main compressor went out on Memorial Day of 2013. I contacted the store I bought it from; they referred me to a local repairman who fixes Maytag. I talked to him and told him the problem along with the make & model of mine. He ended up telling me what exactly the problem was, & there were about 5 people ahead of me with the same fridge, & same problem... all main compressor problems. Check this out. We purchased our Maytag Refrigerator Model # MBF2258DEHM on 12/21/2015. Just a couple of issues I would like to bring to your attention before you purchase your Maytag. The single refrigerator door does not close automatically. You have to close the door. The metal handle is metal and has a metal smell and feel to it. The stainless steel door and the handles are not the same finish. Although this might not be a problem for some who like the industrial look I prefer my hands to be free of chemicals while I am preparing food. The ice maker takes up too much room. The ice maker should have been an option, not a standard item. I had a Kitchen Aid for 10 years and loved it. I thought I was going to have my Kitchen Aid for 15 years or more. I would have purchased another Kitchen Aid, but the reviews were not good.

We purchased a Maytag refrigerator Model # M1TXEMMWS02 and Serial # E01103420 in April of 2010 from Home Depot in Aurora, Illinois. First off, we did register the fridge online via Maytag which of course, they have no record of! Now, we go on vacation and come back to all of our food ruined because the refrigerator stopped working! No refrigerator should stop working within two years! I called Maytag and they offered me a Repair Plus One package of $302.73! Are you kidding? We paid $400.00 for fridge. Then of course, only one-year warranty and have to pay at least $75 for a service call, labor plus parts! If it’s the compressor, the charge is $326.20, plus shipping and handling! What a joke! There needs to be longer warranty and should offer free service calls and much more. I am disgusted in Maytag products and in which we purchased due to a reputable name! Never again.

I bought the newest most energy efficient Maytag model M9BXXGMYM00 (for about 1K) from a local appliance store and after 9 months it wouldnt freeze. The local store picked up and left a loner for the fridge and made repairs in shop returning it in a week - great - except that approx. 11 months later the fridge again wouldnt freeze. The store sent repairman who charged 125$ to tell me it had leaked its freon again and would need repairs which were no longer covered under 1 year Maytag warranty. I asked the store to back their work but was only given a refill of the freon and half off the service visit. 2 months later the fridge is not freezing. I know because the repairman and store owner Mike told me that it had freon leak and that Mike himself had made repairs to the leak that the unit wasnt repaired.I have read that freon is toxic and can be hazardous to people with heart conditions and a list of bad effects. Maytag will only send someone to repair unit for a service call charge plus the repair charges and will not replace a defective unit. I can take the appliance store to small claims court over faulty warranty repairs but probably not the health risks - which are disputed by the experts. Ive read reviews and have heard from people who have appliance issues that the companies basically use a defective unit as a cash cow sending repairmen back again and again and never fixing the problem making a lot of money off of frustrated people who have bought a lemon from a company who doesnt back their product or their work. I was only looking for a decent refrigerator and paid plenty for one. I now have to get rid of a nuisance or pay to fix it - probably more than once and spend lots of time getting through the court vs. store owner process for any of the 1000 bucks lost on the defective toxic junk I got from Maytag.

My five year old refrigerator freezer was leaking due to a corner filler part left in the the freezer compartment that lodged over the drain hole in the freezer. It cost me $232.90 to have a repair technician dig it out. MAYTAG accepts no responsibility for poor inspection, workmanship or quality control and they will not reimburse my fee.

After my divorce, I bought a new house for my youngest son and me. It came without a fridge, so I used some of my settlement money to buy one I had been dying to get - stainless, French door, with bottom drawer freezer! It worked fine for the first 9 months or so. Then, water started pouring through the ceiling of my downstairs master bedroom. Turns out it was coming from the freezer water line. Ceiling tiles ruined, carpet stained. Then it started making this god awful noise. It starts, rumbles for a while (long enough to wake everyone up or give the dog a coronary), then is quiet for a while. Next, I open the freezer to find a sheet of ice across the bottom of the drawer. I assumed I had done something, so I got rid of it and thought nothing else of it. Last night, I get ready to make dinner and there is this blizzard of frost all over the freezer. It looks like a winter wonderland. I am afraid to see what is there when I go home and even more fearful to attempt to use my warranty.

I also bought a Maytag refrigerator in 2013. Right after the warranty expired it was forming ice on the bottom and back of the freezer and was not making ice. I called Maytag and they told me they have no complaints on this type of refrigerator. It was also always making a lot of noise. Maytag was supposed to be the quiet one. I will never buy another Maytag product and I will do anything to make sure nobody else does either.

Shortly after purchasing my Maytag refrigerator had to pay for a new motor in the ice maker. The cover for the lower large food tray broke. Now approx. 4 years later am getting ice build-up on the bottom of the lower freezer unit, about one-half inch thick. It is enough so the freezer door wont seal when it closes and the inside builds up with frost. Not happy with Maytag or this refrigerator.

On the 11/25/16 bought a refrigerator at Home Depot. Beside that the first was not called off, wait for another month 12/31/16 for the other refrigerator the problem are. I file a complaint because Maytag left me a message refrigerator half a price. Now they deny when I have proof.

Like everyone else got that French door fridge and was also duped on that 1 yr warranty - a 95 dollar repair visit for a 485 repair job on a 1200 dollar purchase. Shame on them. Im gonna fix my new floor and replace that frozen bottom, leaking on the left, non-working ice maker 2 yr old refrigerator. Very disappointed with the whole thing and sorry for all of our losses.

The freezer will frost up and the shelves will not move. Repairman has been out three times, once to clean the drain. The second time he installed new tracks for 250.00. Two hours later they still wont move. The third time out he said it was repaired, but two hours later they didnt move again. We are very disappointed with Maytag.

Purchased standard Maytag refrigerator w/ freezer on top in 2012. Freezer has never been able to keep ice cream. Never called for repair because after reading several of these complaints, mine seemed to be a minor frustration. However, I am waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Within 1 year the ice maker stopped working, and every 8 to 10 days it gets a sheet of ice on the bottom, and water runs out all over the floor. Guess, Yes the warranty expired and scared to death that Im gonna have to replace my floor. If there is a class action suit out there please inform me.

I had the same problem with my refrigerator that others had that the water would freeze in the bottom of the freezer then leak on the floor. Now I have to have my floor replaced because leaking. I also have to have some walls replaced because of mold. When I called Maytag they said that they would send the part but we would have to install & that they knew this part was a problem. Luckily I had the extra year warranty. How can a company get away with this? If they know that a part is failing why didnt they notify anybody? Now the damage is done & hopefully my Homeowners insurance is going to pay for the damage. I paid $1,100 for it, 1 1/2 years. Thank goodness I bought the extended warranty. My advice is dont buy any Maytag products ever!!

We bought a refrigerator June 4th 2014. 6 month ago the freezer and refrigerator was getting warm. Had to call repair service, it was the blower! On Saturday 12/9/17 freezer wasnt freezing, then fridge was clicking on and off. Unplugged it, called repair service, it was the compressor. $800.00 to fix it, the same amount as when we purchased it. Repair service told us to call Maytag, he said, Maybe they will help you, would not help at all. Talked to Lori, all she said was warranty is up after a year, I then said, I think a refrigerator should last longer than 3 years! Will never buy anything Maytag again! Yes Maytag does SUCK!!!

French door always has freezer closing problems. Whenever the freezer is not closed tight, the bottom will form ice block, and freezer doesnt close. I have extended warranty but the repair people do not give quick appointment. I sick of this product.

We purchased our French Door, bottom freezer in April 2010 after a renovation. We have loved it besides needing more refrigerated space. This past weekend I noticed the appliance was cutting off and a few seconds later coming back on. It has an outside ice and water dispenser as well and the lights will blink on and off of course when the fridge cut off. Called for a repair and when the repairman called in the parts he was told he needed 2 computer boards. One was available however the other was discontinued and they would not allow him to just replace the one board. The fridge cost us $1798.00 from Home Depot. I cant believe how irresponsible Maytag is in this case. I have a kitchen full of MAYTAG appliances and have loved them all. But this is unacceptable. The Maytag fridge I had before was 16 years old. I gave it to a family member when we bought this one and that one just broke down last year so it was 21 years old! Whats up MAYTAG?

I am having the same problem with the sheet of ice forming on the bottom of the freezer and leaking water out every week or so. It is getting very frustrating. After reading all these reviews I am realizing it is a manufacturing flaw and think there should be a recall. We have model MF12269VEQ3.

Maytag 18.5 cu ft Bottom Freezer Refrigerator purchased 12/10/12. 1/12/16 the bottom of the freezer had an inch of ice that leaked onto the floor. My plumber chipped away ice and unclogged drains $97.50. 4/19/18) the same $97.50. 5/22/18 an appliance repair business installed a drain kit $148.40. This was his 25th Maytag with the same problem. A whole website has complaints about this problem. I sent a letter to Maytag and they wanted to send out their technician to find out the problem (with a service cost to me). With all these complaints, and a kit to fix it, they already know the problem but refuse to do anything about it. Maytag used to be a reputable company. No more. The customer service said I should have bought an extended warranty. I said a $1400 refrigerator should last longer than 3 years (the first leaking occurrence). I will never buy a Maytag product (nor Whirlpool that makes it).

This product was purchased in March. In September, the agitator broke off. Thats a new one on me with a washer. Every other one Ive bought tended to last 10 years or so, then something like a motor wore out. It was an obvious design flaw on a topheavy agitator held on by a flimsy plastic sleeve. To make matters worse, their warranty service seems mostly geared to selling extended warranties, necessitated by the poor quality and bad design of their products. So, for a mere $182, I can have it covered for the next six or seven times the agitator breaks. No thanks, Ill figure out how to fix it myself when its no longer under warranty, or just cut my losses by buying another machine, and never another Maytag or Whirlpool product. I had a similar experience with a Whirlpool refrigerator purchased in April 2017, which had a defective module that went fortunately just before it was out of warranty.

Weve had 2 Maytag washers that lasted a combined 41 years. Five years ago we purchased a Bravos XL top load washing machine directly from Whirlpool. Like many other reviews, it is impossible to keep the machine from going out of balance and trying to tear the laundry room apart. I called Maytag and of course they want to make sure the machine is level in at least 3 dimensional space as well as 2 parallel dimensions per String Theory. As far as the 3 dimensions, I assured them I had already thought of this (as an aside, ever try to find any flat metal on one of these machines? Kind of helps when using a level.)So after more exciting conversation, they offered me a Warranty for $437. While trying to control my laughter, I said I could trash the Bravos and buy a new machine for that price. As far as repairing it, it cost $120 for a repairman to grace my door step plus $35 every 15 minutes plus parts -- again, the decision is to trash it and buy a new machine. In case I was too subtle in my comments, I WILL NEVER BUY A WHIRLPOOL PRODUCT AGAIN. Im too frustrated to tell you about my KitchenAid fridge. As much as I detest it, I am forced to join the buy and trash 5 year club . Sometimes the good old days were really better.

I purchased a Maytag French door refrigerator (model MF12569) two years ago. The bottom drawer freezer does not work well. Apparently, the inner tubing of the freezer clogs and it creates huge puddles of water. My floor got damaged and I keep calling Maytag and all I get is their apologies. I purchased an extra warranty which will expire on the third year. I am really disappointed with their product. I see why there are so many complaints filed and what makes matter worse is that they dont seem to acknowledge the problem. Apologies do not cut it. They need to do something to reestablish customer satisfaction.

My fridge and freezer got warm and compressor is not running. It is not even 8 years old. I replaced start relay and start capacitor. It cost me $75, from Maytag store. I worked two days the bam! It’s broke again. It’s a Maytag junk, now what? I have two kids in college. It will cost me $100 for a service call. Our food is ruined.

My refrigerator temperature control panel started flashing lights and the ice maker flap started opening and closing over and over. I checked online and there are numerous model #s doing the same thing, most all contacted Maytag, some were fixed for no charge. Some were not even though they admitted there was a defect in the electronic control panel. I was one of the ones they refused to fix because they said it was an older model but they fixed a 2006 model, a defective part is a defective part no matter the age especially if they know and admit there is a problem with the control panel.I cant understand why they wont take care of their problem, so now I have to spend over $300.00 to fix a problem that they made in manufacturing, that is not an outrageous amount, thank goodness, but I just dont understand why they wont stand behind their product when they can fix out for probably half that cost to take care of their problem. I didnt make the refrigerator, they did.

I bought this Maytag French door model MFF2258VEW2 in 2010. Within the first year, it was freezing my vegetables. They sent someone out to fix it. Thank goodness it was under warranty. The man laid the bill down and it was over $800 to fix it. Six months later, it froze up. I called and they said they would send someone out, but I would have to pay for it. Im on disability and cant pay that kind of money. I got someone to come out and fix it. Well, guess what? It has started freezing my vegetables again. This is the third time this thing has gone bad. What do these people think they are doing putting things out like this? I had a Maytag for 30 years and never had any problem with it. So I saved and saved to get me a new one but I will never buy another Maytag. The company should have to replace all the refrigerators that are like this one.

I have had this refrigerator for a few years and never have had a problem. It keeps food uniformly cold, and is frost free. While appearance is attractive, it doesnt look like a $3,000 refrigerator. However, black pebbled-surface exterior is easy to clean and scratch-resistant. Plastic and glass interior fittings also have held up very well. I originally thought it would be too small because I was buying it to fit a certain space in the kitchen. But it has turned out to be just the right size because there is no wasted space inside. I bought this at Home Depot on sale for about $400.00 and it has turned out to be an excellent buy. Delivery was on time, efficient, and people were polite and helpful. Refrigerator was ready to be used about 15 minutes after delivery arrived. I have found Maytag appliances to be extremely reliable and made to last. They have never disappointed me. I will continue to buy them. I highly recommend it.

We have a bottom freezer Maytag refrigerator and after 2 years normal use it started leaking water onto the floor every day. After researching this problem I see that it is a widespread issue originating from an engineering mistake. I spent a weekend afternoon taking apart the freezer, clearing the frozen drain line, and putting it all back together. Im assuming this will keep happening every so often since it is a Design Flaw! Do yourself a favor and avoid Maytag!

H.V. Board failure on Maytag model #MFI2568AES refrigerator. Whirlpool needs to step up their parts program. This refrigerator has been down for over 6 weeks and part will not arrive till 7/10/14. There is no excuse. The Maytag name is about as good as our country gone to H_ _ L in a hand basket. Consumers should not have a wait on parts or repairs that forces them to buy a new appliance when they spend $2500 and it only last a few years and try to contact them, they wont reply. I hope everyone who reads this considers LG, GE or SAMSUNG and not whirlpool excuses and JUNK.

I bought a new Maytag refrigerator on July 2, 2011. The ice continues to drop after removing your glass. Now you must pick the ice from the floor. Maytag said it has a 10 second delay and will continue to drop ice. Im tired of picking up ice and wiping water from the floor. Who wants a product that leaves a mess?

I tried emailing Maytag but from what I read on consumer reports I doubt Ill get an email back. After our 20 plus year old Kenmore fridge was taken by hurricane Sandy I decided to try Maytag. What junk! We have a bottom freezer and were getting water build up on the bottom under the basket. In order to keep the water from leaking on floor I had to chop the ice out of the bottom every 2 days. My husband got frustrated and took the whole freezer apart only to find all the coils were covered in ice. Soon after that the ice maker stopped working. Tried different things to get it working. We finally took it apart and found the factory did not screw in all the screws on the inside so they fell out on the circuit board and shorted the thing out. Lucky it didnt burn the house down. All I can say is junk! Do not buy!

A refrigerator we have had for just two years has been leaking water from the freezer and damaged our hardwood floor. We thought it was someone dropping ice or leaving the freezer drawer open but no, there is an admitted problem with the mechanism. No coverage from Maytag for the cost of fixing THEIR MISTAKE. The company doesnt seem to care. Got the run around from their management.

Purchased a Maytag French door freezer underneath refrigerator 8 years ago. It stopped working because of the circuit board located behind the ice and water compartment on April 7th. Contacted a Maytag repairman, which is a whole other story. Had to order the part, weeks and weeks go by telling us the part is coming. Then a call came from the repair man on June 17th, Maytag no longer makes the part. Meantime we located the part by taking the fridge apart ourselves and ordered it arriving today June 19th. Contacted Maytag - Whirlpool corporate. Answer, We are sorry we no longer make the part, and basically told me after spending $2800.00 8 years ago Im up the creek without a paddle.

It went bad, then I called a technician who replaced the compressor. After a few months, it broke down again after I had bought new parts for it. I was very dissatisfied with how the refrigerator was built. I spent lots of money on it, and it wasnt worth it.

Consumers be aware! Anyone who’s considering purchasing a Maytag Appliance I would highly suggest reconsidering! I bought a $2000+ Maytag fridge Model # MFT2776FEZ00 in March of 2017 and have had numerous repair calls on it: Several for ice maker not make ice, ice freezing in the bucket into 1 big CHUNK, water running down front of door on the inside and outside, to not working at all and ice maker needing to be replaced. Several calls for fridge not properly cooling (temperature was set at 37 degrees F but the temperature in the fridge is 55 degrees F - per 2 thermometers), food is spoiling. The back inside of “Temp Controlled Pantry” is freezing everything and whole back wall behind the drawer is frozen with 1-2” of frost and ice. Defroster is not working and again parts being ordered to repair an obvious issue with this model.I contacted Maytag and their response was “sorry, we can document the problem.” They will do nothing more! These Appliance companies are ripping off the consumers! Everyone passes the buck! Repairman says, contact the Appliance store you purchased it from, Appliance store says, contact Maytag, Maytag says it’s the repair companys issue.

Fridge leaked all over our floor and ruined it! Very unhappy! When we open the freezer we find a sheet of ice on the bottom. We have to keep a towel on the floor so we dont slip and get hurt. I finally get a new kitchen and the fridge is ruining it! Yuck.

Maytag fridges, obsolete in less than 3 years. TWICE! My last Maytag fridge dies at about 2.5 years. I called up customer service. It was a compressor not repairable. This was an expensive fridge. Reluctantly we bought another one as the space could only accommodate a Maytag. Again less than 3 years old, the ice maker is shot and the plastic inserts are all falling apart. This time Ill renovate my kitchen for that extra 2 inches to accommodate a different brand.

Well I like all the other people have the very same problem. Ruined floor from sheet of ice that forms on the bottom tray daily. I was told I need a new main board which I understand is about $500.00. I am 55 years old and this was my first brand new fridge. I am so so upset. I grew up with the whole Maytag repairman commercials where he was so lonely cause he never had any repairs to do. All my life I grew up with these commercials. I thought I was buying the best. What a disappointment. It has been in my living room for 2 years. I keep thinking something wonderful is going to happen. Now I have to pay someone to haul it off. Great.

I purchased Maytag fridge a year ago and it has been a nightmare. The freezer doesnt freeze items. the drawers were all damaged upon receiving. I have contacted Maytag for more than 10 times and 5 techs came that I paid 125 each visit to fix the fridge because I didnt purchase the warranty thinking it was a good product . It is not! They dont stand behind their word. They lie and they send unqualified techs the misdiagnose issue to collect service calls. Please avoid this brand by all cost. My experience is terrible and I never want to wish it on anyone.

I have a Maytag MFI2665XEW6. Im getting water on the floor by the bottom draw. It looks like the coil in the back is freezing up and then melting down to the bottom of the freezer and out to the floor. I dont know how to lower the temp on the door panel.

Maytag Frenchdoor MFX2570AEM3 - Was initially really excited with this brand new fridge. We have not even fully paid it off, as we bought with credit at Home Depot, and it continuously leaks water from freezer! I have taken everything out, defrosted, spent about two hours pushing hot water through the freezer drain with a turkey baster and it was only about four days before I had a puddle on my floor again! We have bought quite a few maytag products before, but after this fridge, probably never again! If there is a recall or a lawsuit pending, please, someone advise me of either.
