Purchased a Maytag front loader and matching dryer in Sears and have had nothing but problems with both since the beginning. Now that the warranty has run out we have even more problems and doing laundry has become stressful. Big lemons. Wish I had kept my Kenmore units. Now looking into reviews for other brands, may go back to the Kenmore brand too. NOTHING can be as bad as Maytag.

I have the Maytag Bravos washer and dryer. The machine has broken several times every year, and every year, Maytag makes me feel like it is my fault. They built a machine, and they do not stand behind it. And I cannot get a local machinist to work on it. I have asked Maytag to replace it from the start, and they refused, telling me its out of warranty. The only thing out of warranty is the frame--all parts are new. Here is the history:On 1/04/2008, I purchased it from Home Depot, and it cost $815. Then in 4/2009, there was an F51 code, and Maytag replaced the mother board after long hold times and much pleading to help me. They said they could do nothing, because it was out of warranty. It took manager to manager to manager to get the agreement to extend the warranty. (I then found that this was a regular Maytag issue.)From 9/2010 to 10/2010, an ld code occurred. The approved Maytag scheduled service had to come out 4 different times to attempt to fix the issue. One time, they said it was broken wires for the drain pump. The next, it was off balance; and the next, it was a sensor. Then the next time, they replaced the mother board again, and again after much argument that the part was less than a year old. Each time, they get more and more difficult to deal with and made me feel more and more like I am asking them for something unreasonable. The service guys said the washer was like new.... All new parts and I would never have a problem again. It cost $80 after argument, and Maytag covered the parts.Last 2/2011, problems include a fast spin, ld code, and off balance; and it stopped working. It needed new suspension rods which cost $250. Maytag paid nothing. Then in 8/2011, ld code started again, and I would have to turn off to drain and then restart to spin. Maytag called in a service call, and they never showed up. Every time, they said they read over my file and that theres nothing they can do to help me. And no one else for me to speak to.In 10/2011, the ld code came on permanently. The Maytag call I made this time again said there was nothing they could do to help me.I am so frustrated; I dont know what to do next. I threw away an older set working washer and dryer, thinking I made a great decision to upgrade to this new set. Now my family of 5 cannot wash our clothes. No one will work on the washers locally, and Maytag treats me like Im complaining for nothing and I should just spend endless dollars to fix this machine. And Im at a loss. I had to get a part for the dryer the other day, and the parts store person told me that this washer is one of Maytags mistakes. if that is so, why wont they help me?

We can do nothing at the control panel even though the drum light will come on when the door is opened, we cannot turn it from the control panel. After a varying length of time, a fault code of F70 is displayed (which is not covered in the owners manual), the dryer can then be started by depressing the power button and all functions seem to be restored.

I purchased both a Maytag Neptune washer and dryer in 2007. This is without a doubt one of the biggest mistake I have made. I have had the dryer drum and rollers replaced and the washer will no longer run. It is going to cost me hundreds of dollars to repair. To think I bought these units for 2 reasons: 1. that Maytag are the dependability people, but its not! and 2. Energy efficiency. It is not too efficient when they are broken more than they work. The worst was when the repairman told me that I had purchased the worst product on the market. These units are in short, garbage! I will never buy another Maytag Product!

I bought Maytag Bravos X in 2014. I bought a set. The dryer is fine. Right after the warranty was up the washer started having problems. Maytag was no help. One sensor after another went bad. Now I have to unplug it to get it to start and then again to get it to spin. It hasnt spun on its own since 2015. It just recently wont start on its own. I have appliance repair people out and they cant fix it. They say everyone has problems with them. My mother swore by Maytags and had a set for twenty years or so, but now they are garbage.

Not only does dryer come with missing parts and are told by Maytag 1 to 2 weeks for delivery or drive 25 miles to pick up one. You do not qualify for rebate even though you do not receive washer and dryer for 5 days after rebate starts. Should have kept my old GE was faster and got clothes cleaner. Was looking at a Maytag refrigerator not anymore with their service.

I purchased a Maytag Bravos XL Top Loading Washer and matching dryer in 2013. I had a repairman out to install a new screen on the dryer because the lint was spilling over into the surrounding area. The new screen has been catching most of the lint, but I still have to vacuum the surrounding area after a few loads. Also, I have to turn the dryer on two (2) cycles in order to dry most of the clothes, and the machine makes a lot of noise. Those are minor problems compared to the washer. It constantly tears holes in my towels and wash clothes. I NEVER put in a full load because the water level is so low, and it does not clean the clothes. It takes a long time to go through cycles and it is EXTREMELY noisy.I called Maytag and they said that they never heard of the problem of creating holes in towels and wash clothes, and wanted to charge me over $100 to have a repairman come out. They also said that the repairman might not find anything wrong. I feel that the washing machine is very hard on the clothes - like the salesman at Lowes said It’s like beating the clothes against a rock. The washer and dryer are JUNK, and I would not recommend these to anyone! I would trash them, but they were very expensive and we cannot afford to buy new at this time.

I purchase this dryer not even a year ago. It is not performing right. I call customer support and they willing to try something to see the problem. I hope I don’t have to pay anything out my pocket.

Ive had my washer and dryer since 2007. We purchased a new vacation home and it was included. I used the HD washing machines at my daughters, though hers was a front loader from a different company. Im unhappy with mine. Would not purchase one again. I find my clothes arent clean and my kitchen clothes and towels always have a residue on them. I now wash everything on warm, use the proper amount of soap and have to do heavy load cycle. Im still not happy, but it beats buying a new one.

Maytag model mfd2561hes French door stainless steel purchased in June 2005 has been the worst appliance purchase ever. After 1 year warranty expired, icemaker and water dispenser stopped working. Was told by repairman to thaw the tube for water dispensing with a hair dryer. Are you kidding me? Why should I have to pull a huge refrigerator out from wall and put the hair dryer to it to thaw out the water line when I need water? What is the convenience to that? Cant buy fresh vegetables as it will freeze before I can use it. This is the worst appliance ever. Dont buy Maytag products. Maytag doesnt back products like the old days when they would last 20 + years. Cant last even a year anymore. Sad!

I bought a brand-new dryer Maytag Bravos. It broke after 3 weeks. They came to fix. A few months later, same thing happened, but I have 6 people in my house. They told me someone would be here the next day, and then that person canceled. They called someone else. He came and said I have to wait 3 days for parts. I called at least 6x and waited 30 minutes each time. They kept telling me theyd call back, and theres absolutely no call back. Then I called corporate Yvette, who was totally cocky and rude (866 817 5404). She said she would try to get back to me another day because she had meetings! Then, I was irate. I mean how rude. So she called me back and said, I ordered you the parts. Now you call Dan Marc, the service company, and make the appointment. Is this woman kidding? Then she went on about how Maytag has a 13% rating (They are Maytag.) and how their product is so wonderful. Now this woman is competent cocky and rude, and shes the presidents secretary! So whatever I call Dan Marc, they have no appointments Tom and wont make me an appointment. This is how a new product should work? I asked her what I do when it breaks again and again and the warranty is up. She told me they dont work on what ifs and if that time comes, it will be her decision. I am disgusted and have a house full of kids with no dryer? And I have given them another chance after that Neptune disaster. Im appalled and dont even know what to do.

I purchased a Maytag Bravo Washer and Dryer about 2 years ago; dissatisfied with the products. Washer continues to smell. I clean it all the time with the Affresh tablets. Usually, I have to use 2 bags just to get it not to smell for at least 2 weeks. Now, the glass front dryer is rusting out around the window.

It just keeps going. Still looks great. We have had our Maytag Neptune analog dryer for over 20 years. It has dried a usual 3 loads a day, with very little maintenance. We have replaced the motor, blower, and support rollers, but these are parts that were just wear and tear items, after years of extraordinary use. It has outlasted 3 or 4 washing machines.

We purchased a Maytag Bravos washer & dryer in September 2012 and 2 1/2 years later March 2015, no heat. We called a repairman and he said heat element went out. When researching this problem online I was shocked how many people had the same problem as we have. It cost over $300 to fix and I am concerned that it will just break again and again after reading these reviews. I think that a class action lawsuit may be needed so that this unfortunate situation does not continue to happen to other consumers.

We bought a new top of the line Maytag MGD7000XW dryer about 2 years ago. It worked great for about 6 months, thing started acting funny. All of the front console lights stay on all of the time and it ONLY dries on high heat now. This all happened after the warranty period. So fine, I was going to buy a new complete front console (CONSOLE Part Number: W10388467 $300.) as the online repairman suggested. Guess what, Maytag no longer offers the part to fix my dryer. So now I have a 2 year old top of the line P.O.S. MAYTAG dryer that cant be fixed. I will never buy from this company again (Maytag).

We bought our front load washer and dryer about 5 years ago and have had no problems with either. We also purchased a Maytag French door refrigerator 2 months ago to replace our Sears Elite brand when its compressor went out after 27 months (Ill never buy another Sears appliance).

This Bravos washer and dryer saves energy for sure, but sadly, that is it. It does not wash my clothes and rinse them adequately. They are so twisted and wrinkled I have ironed just about all my clothes. Even my synthetics are severely wrinkled. The dryer sensors do not work. They never dry the clothes adequately. The concept was good in that they are compact and have a large capacity, but the design does not work. I was lured in and unfortunately, there were no reviews at the time but I see that everyone shares my sentiments. The washer and dryer are just not any good. Thank you.

Maytag Bravos XL - I have always loved Maytag and never had any problems. In Feb we did some major remodeling with new flooring in our laundry room. Decided to buy a brand new washer and dryer even though our 10-year old Maytag washer and dryer worked perfectly fine. After looking at Home Depot and Lowes we first settled for a Samsung W & D but before it was delivered we shopped some more. After doing some inquiring we decided that we wanted to stick to a long trusted W & D line so we chose this washing mashing and matching dryer. From day one I decided I did not care for it. I found if I put too many clothes in that they did not come out clean. Any dark pants would come out with what looked to be soap or softener stains and would have to rewash 1 or 2 times. Now I can only put in about 4 pairs of pants to wash. I have been cleaning it once a month as the manual says to do but yesterday I noticed a terrible odor coming for the washer. I could smell it out in the hall. I did the cleaning again but still smell it. Now after searching the internet I find a video that shows the problem is mold under the drum. No amount of Affresh or bleach is going to clean something UNDER the drum. It is not my job to have to take this apart every few months and clean out mold and moldy water. Sounds like this problem has been going on for a few years and this should have been fixed long before this. I wish I had my old faithful washer and dryer back. Maybe I should have stuck to the Samsung washer and dryer.

I bought a Maytag Neptune washer and dryer set in 2001. I had horrible mold issues with the washer not long after, and the colors washing setting cant be used without the clothes coming out with a smell that implies they were not cleaned. The dryer lasted about a year longer, before it stopped heating the air and also would not stop running. I will never buy from Maytag again! Much the same as many other consumers have commented, I would give it less than one star if that is an option!

I bought the dryer (Maytag Gas Bravo Dryer) from Home depot in December of 2010. The thermostat went out in July of 2011 and has replaced the same part 5 times up until August of 2011. Then they put a new burner with a thermostat and it lasted till June 1 of 2012. Now the warranty is out, they want me to repair this piece of **. I will never buy a Maytag product again.

I purchased My Maytag Washer and Dryer set from Lowe's, which was a very good experience all the way, back in June 2017. After two years I can finally give an honest review. We love this set even though it is not as quiet as the old Maytag washers. Still is but not as. We have not had one bit of trouble from either the washer or dryer. The next size larger would have been the better choice for us since we now have king size bedspreads to wash. It still does the job though, just one piece at a time. A lot of people complain about the smaller amount of water used but it still cleans clothes quite well. If you need more water just use deep water wash or for even more water use the setting for bulky sheets which really fills up the water level.

Within the first month of purchasing my front loading Maytag Neptune washer (MAH6700AWW) at Home Depot, the soap dispenser fell off. The machine not only leaked, requiring stack of towels to be placed on the floor to keep the room from flooding, but often produced foul-smelling clothes, despite cleaning the machine. On top of that, the delicate cycle stopped working and then last month, the entire control board went! It is past its warranty period, and I cannot afford a new washer for my family of 6. The machine has been discontinued and the parts unattainable. The control board of our dryer (MDE6700AYW) went too, causing buzzing in the electrical connection and burning, causing us to have to shut down the circuits for the machine. Maytag has lost all my respect as a quality appliance supplier. We spent $1700 on the set and the machines have been a nightmare. Please note: we were NOT notified that there were class action suits against Maytag regarding their machines.

In December of 2013 I purchased a Maytag clothes dryer model Neptune. In July of 2014, I was hearing a banging sound as the drum rotated. As a mechanical inclined person that I am I removed the top of the dryer and turned the drum by hand. As I turned the drum I noticed that the stainless steel crimped bead around the drum had separated just enough to hit the side wall of the dryer. I was able to bang down the raised portion of the raised bead. This was a quick fix and there was no more banging as the drum turned around. Then in June of this month it started to make that banging sound again. So I removed the top of the dryer and discovered that the bead separated again and then there was a crack that spread to about 1 1/2 inches. I banged down the raised portion again and this lasted for 2 weeks. That’s when I noticed that the crack spread further apart and actually ripped a hole in the left side wall of the machine and froze in position where it would not turn at all. So I reversed the turn of the drum by hand to allow the drum to turn again. At this point I decided to order a new drum which came to $264.00 which included shipping. When it arrives I will replace the entire drum. Being that Maytag/Whirlpool refused to honor their product because this issue happened after the warranty had just expired and the company didnt want to replace the drum. I have never heard of a dryer drum seal bead coming apart in all my experience with repairing an appliance. No I wouldnt suggest purchasing a Maytag/Whirlpool product to anyone. I feel the company should have done the right thing and replaced the drum. In life if you do the right thing all the time, then there would never be an issue with the consumer and corporation. Always do the right thing and you will never go wrong.

MAYTAG BRAVOS WASHER - Biggest mistake I have ever made, like all the other complaints, washer does not clean the clothes. This washer and dryer are in our vacation home. Only used on weekends we are there, now the washer is broken, will not spin and UL light comes on, even with no clothes in it. DO NOT BUY!!! Like others have stated, we need to start a class action lawsuit against Maytag for fraud and knowingly selling junk.

Purchased the Maytag Bravos XL washer and dryer in January, 2014. Today, 5/16/15 (less than 1 1/2 years later) the repairman tells me that the cause of the loud noise in the spin cycle is bad bearings. Only a 1-year warranty on the machine. I have never purchased extended warranties on appliances so this will cost me $400! Or a new washer since this is more than half the cost of the new washer. This is bad business, Maytag. Ive been a loyal Maytag customer for years but I think Im heading to Speed Queen with their 5-year warranty unless youre going to give me a helluva deal to keep me. Grrrrrrr.

I have had KitchenAid and Whirlpool my whole life - lots of them - NEVER EVER have I had so much trouble with a washer. This front loader is the worst possible machine. My former Whirlpool was a front loader too - Never a problem. I purchased this Maytag set simply to have a matched set because our Whirlpool dryer died. This washer has to be babysat. The washer holds water and it gets musty - never ever before have I had this problem. Maytag says it is designed this way and I have to continue to buy AFFRESH (which is also very expensive). I have to use this two to three times a week and the pkg says once every 6 months - DONT DONT BUY MAYTAG. LOUSY.

Was so excited to get this machine so that I could wash larger loads, including blankets, but unfortunately the machine didnt really clean as expected. That was very frustrating, but even more upsetting was when it began to sound like a jet engine when in the spin cycle. In researching this online, we have discovered that it is probably the bearings. When we called for service from the local store where we purchased the washer and dryer, we were told that it will likely cost at least $600 to repair. We have looked online to see if it is something that we can do ourselves, but really dont want to attempt this as it will require some heavy lifting and a lot of time. I am amazed that a machine like this would fail in such a short period of time and would like to add my name to the list of people who will not buy Maytag again! If a class action suit is ever filed against Maytag for this poor excuse for a washer, count me in, but unfortunately I will probably need to buy a new one before much longer.

Centennial commercial tech. washer - We purchased this piece of junk in Sept 2013, and had to have a repairman twice before it was six weeks in my home. I wrote several letters but the only thing that I received were applications for insurance to cover repairs. I should have received a replacement as it was bad from day one, but Maytag doesnt replace!!! Its been semi-reliable for the past several months, until early this year. It started jerking when it changed cycles, sounding as if the drum was hitting really hard against the sides. It has continued to do that regularly; now it wont function on the cycle its set on. It wont spin, sometimes the lid lock wont work. It starts filling when it should be draining. This evening, it stayed in the rinse cycle for 40 minutes and when I realized it was still rinsing I had to unplug it to get it stopped. It goes on and on, (and so could I out of frustration). The good name of Maytag has turned to trash, and when it leaves my home, no more Maytags!!! PS. The dryer we got with it takes at least 1 1/2 full cycles to dry a load, and since I couldnt get it to spin properly, Ill be lucky to get this last load dry in 2 to 2 1/2 cycles.

Have had problems with the set since day one. Bought brand new from Home Depot. Got a great deal and now know why. Never cleaned the clothes properly, water marks on so many items, musty smelling regardless of how many times we cleaned it, horrible at removing stains, and finally not even 5 yo the motor stopped worked. The dryer has been repaired too and hasnt ever done a stellar job. Will never buy another Maytag product again!

Purchased a stackable washer and dryer (Maytag) for our new condo in Feb 2015. After it was installed a few months later the problems began. The washer wasnt removing the water from the clothes. We contacted Maytag and they informed us that they subcontract out to a company called Appliance Service of Central Florida (727-462-0394). Contacted Appliance Service and set up a date to be serviced. Since then, we have had Appliance Service out to our place over 8 times. They found fault in our control panel, our door lock, replaced our motor and have replace several other parts. It has been over 4 months since they started repairs on our machine and have informed me that they have a right to try and fix the problem. I have no problem with this but when and how long do I have to put up with this? They dont seem to care that my wife and I havent had a working washer in over 4 months.The people doing the repairs stated that this machine should have been replaced because it had or has several problems with it and after replacing the motor, electric panel etc it still isnt working. When I contacted Maytag they stated that as long as Appliance Service is working on the problem, it out of their hands. Is there anything I can do besides contacting a lawyer and spending more money?

Purchased a Maytag Bravos XL less than 3 years ago Model MVWB725BW0. We have had several repair calls. From reading complaints from others, I have the same: clothes balloon, clothes rip, dark clothes have a scum on them, even a blanket goes off balance and it is hard to start the cycle. It goes off balance all the time, makes a squeaky sound when agitating and the housekeeper can never figure out what cycle to run the clothes on because they always go off balance, there is a loud vibration, etc. The last repair call was for an actual leak on the floor! The appliance company charged us $95 for the service call, did nothing, and told us the parts would be more expensive than a new washing machine. Went to Home Depot today and purchased an LG washer and dryer for over $1500. I am not even going to try to recoup anything from Maytag because this is the second Maytag that I have had a bad experience with and didnt learn a lesson in the first place. Junk. :(

I have had nothing except trouble with my new Maytag Bravos washer! I first had a suspension arm or something like that replaced along with the agitator. My water cycle has never worked correctly since it was new. I take out the clothes and half are still dry. My daughter washed her kids’ clothes in the washer while she was living with us and the stains did not come out. She thought that is really unusual since they werent stains that normally you would see left on the clothes. I went to my father-in-law’s house (they have a front loading Bosch), took her detergent with her that she used here and guess what? It’s just one washing and the stain was gone. She had washed the clothes in our washer at least 7 times trying to get out the stain. Now, we have such a loud noise that it sounds like it is going to take off. Then, the bottom of the washer started to leak. We took it out and checked it and we cant find the leak. The clothes smell awful when they come out of the wash. I dont know if it is bacteria build up. I use the cycle cleaner when I am supposed to. This is so sad. This is the first time I have had matching washer and dryer and I wish I would have kept my old Sears model that worked great. I havent decided if we want to fix it. With the price to fix it, I can buy one I might like. Never will I buy Maytag again or another Whirlpool without checking out the reports.

I purchased this set 2/15/2014 and have never been more disappointed with a product! The washer is top loading high efficiency and there is NO water level for different sizes of loads. If I add two small items or a load of towels the water level is the same and the larger loads do not get clean, I can only run very small loads of clothes and sometimes even those do not get cleaned. I have seen soap on some items because there was not enough water to rinse it all out - and I measure the soap very carefully. Additionally, when using bleach for whites it stays in the washer even after running a second rinse with the tub empty to clean it out. I have ruined a lot of items due to bleach stains. And shortly after getting the washer something came loose and it rattles every time it spins making it very noisy. I am seriously considering selling this set with a huge loss and purchasing another washer so that I will not ruin anymore clothes and to be sure my clothes get cleaned. I have had the set for 8 months and will never recommend this product to anyone.The dryer has its issue as well. It shuts off before the clothes are dry every time I try to dry a load and sometimes 5 minutes or less after I start it. I have to use the timer all the time because the auto settings shut off while the clothes are wet. Additionally, I have to run most loads for 2-3 cycles to get the clothes dry. My reliable old dryer of almost 20 years dried my clothes perfectly with the auto time settings and was a far superior dryer than this one.

Does not rinse clothes or dispense adequate water. This is the worst washing machine I have ever owned. Dark clothes come out of washer with white dust/soap residue on them. Clothes often come out of washer dry - never touched by water in the wash cycle. The spin cycle knots the clothes into a heap. As for the dryer, pulling out the lint filter leaves lint particles all over the top of the dryer. Poor design.

We purchased a Maytag dryer in Dec 2012 and several days ago the heating unit failed (mid April 2014). I did a quick search on this site and a few others where I saw numerous such issues with Maytag dryers. I realized that I was 4 months beyond the warranty period but took a shot at calling their customer service line to voice my displeasure only to get the company line that they could do nothing. My wife and I have been married 27 years this year and this was the 4th dryer we have purchased (1st and last Maytag) which obviously did not last like the other brands or like we expected. I definitely do not recommend this brand!

I asked a simple question online to see the location of the lint trap on my washer, I had read my manual and could find nothing about the lint trap, and to get a simple answer as to location, they wanted to be paid $30.00, I dont want them to come and show me just a simple answer as to where I could find it. It should be in the owners manual but it isnt

I attempted over and over just to swap out washing machines. I originally purchased a washer and dryer because of a defect in the top load they delivered. They talked me in to the frontload Neptune instead. Within months I started having daily reactions to mold and to my disgust found out it was from my washing machine. I begged to switch back to the top load I originally ordered and the store would not let me and referred me to Maytag who sent me some tablets and would help me no further. Apparently, the Maytag repairman wasnt lonely anymore if a product had to be manufactured and ready for complaint calls. Well I used the product. I used vinegar and baking soda. I have used hot water and bleach. I have left the door open to dry...It is the most cared for item in our family and the one that makes me ill literally. I cannot afford to buy a different one and would be interested to know if my husband’s declining health issues have anything to do with our mold issue or if it is just depression...Anyway, I was very discouraged to find out that other people in other states had washing machines replaced, but why didnt I? I would be happy if they could buy back my old Maytag that I had prior to this Neptune, I am sure it is making someone very happy somewhere. Why couldnt they have respected my very true complaint? I was not trying to get something for nothing. I paid for something to keep us cleaner and free from allergens and instead wash my clothes in mold and have mold spores leaching into the air in my home. Please help.

I purchased one of the first Impeller washer and dryer. The dryer is great, but the washer needed repair immediately. Home Depot refused to exchange the pair, so I will never buy from them again. The washer takes over an hour to complete the wash cycle, has to be set on Bulk in order to get enough water for a decent wash, and is extremely rough on clothing. Its made holes in some of my shirts and everything comes out twisted without enough rinsing. Sleeves are always turned inside out. Thats how rough it is. It costs me more in water and electricity. Neither Home Depot nor Maytag would replace the pair for me.

I bought two sets of Maytag washer and dryer. We have had them for less than a year and the tubs had to be replaced out of both of them. Now, its less than six months later and they are doing the same thing, so the tubs have to be replaced again. What kind of equipment are you making? This is just an outrage. You are scamming people to buy your products by your so called advertising and rep. Well, this is false advertising on your part. I will never buy another Maytag anything or Whirlpool either. I also see there are a lot of others having the same thing being done to them. I would be ashamed to even have these products to sell. Shame on you. Scammer.

I purchased this washer in Oct. of 2017. From the beginning, it has not cleaned clothing properly and leaves a white residue on clothing. To get the residue off, I must wash the clothing again or sometimes it will come off in the dryer. The water level is too low to efficiently clean. I thought I would save water getting this but not at the price of multiple washes... What good is that? Since there is no agitator the clothes just sit at the bottom and move back and forth as one big clump, with just a few inches of water. I am sorry Ive waited so long since I am now past the point of returning this piece of junk.

I got a new washer and dryer for my ex wife and son last August. Its October and the agitator broke off. She is not abusive to things and just the two of them dont produce much laundry. This was just poorly built. Maytag should be ashamed to have built such a poor product. I thought GE had the worst appliances, but Maytag must have hired their engineers. I have pictures and it has 10 year warranty right on the lid, lol. Should be 10 months,

Would give them 0 Stars if that was an option. Bought a Maytag washer and dryer in Aug 2021. Washer broke Jan 6 2022. Called Maytag/Whirlpool on Jan 6 as it was still under warranty. They only had one service company in our area to work on the washer. I called them and it took them 10 days to come see what is wrong. Ordered parts. Said it would be 2 weeks. We are now 6 weeks into this with no parts. Called customer service and they said they were notified that their service company needed a part and would take another 21 days to resolve. Talked to a supervisor (Demetrius) who sounded like he did NOT want to be in that position. Offered no solution other than we will just have to wait. Threw a 3 month extension for the warranty on which still does not fix the problem. Sad to see this company go down the tubes as it was once a pretty decent business with solid products. No longer.

Maytag Bravos XL - This is the worst product I have ever owned! I purchased a Maytag because when my husband and I were married 29 years ago we bought a Maytag washer and dryer and still using the dryer. However we lost the washer and had to replace it. Worst mistake ever!!! Within a year a circuit board went out (they replaced but I was advised I needed an extended warranty which I do have) and was told by the technician that this model was junk! I called Maytag and expressed my great disappointment and all I was told is we document customers input. I then ask ok so what are you going to do about it? And I did not get a response. I asked for a different model but was declined. As you can see it is rusting at only a 1.5 years old and tearing up my clothes. It destroyed a doily that belonged to my late mother. Maytag used to have integrity in their product but not anymore. Not only all of these issues but I have to wash clothes twice and they still are not clean. Plus they have a dirt film on them and yes I used THE detergent!!

We bought a washer & dryer from Home Depot 2 1/2 years ago. The control board went out on my washer. I called Maytag and they wanted $109 for a diagnostic fee and wouldnt tell me how much the labor would be. A control board costs $350. So by the time all is said and done... the money would be better spent buying a new one. Maytags slogan of dependability lasts is a bunch of hooey. Washers should last more than 2 1/2 years and Maytag should back up their appliances. They just lost a customer.

Unsafe Maytag - We have had lousy service from our last purchase of a Maytag Atlantis washer and dryer. The washer failed after 14 months, and since it was more expensive to repair it, we replaced it. I needed to do a simple repair to the dryer today, and I had to take the front of the machine off. I found the inside too so full of lint. I believe it was only days away from catching fire. The blanket of lint I removed from the top of the heating element appeared to be charred and black, a fire ready to start in my opinion. I will not have this machine repaired. I want this fire trap out of my house. Before you ask, I must add, my wife cleaned the lint trap often. The Maytag Company has not been helpful. I will add that our first set of Maytags gave us many years of good dependable service. What happened to this company?

We bought our new Maytag top loading washer and matching dryer about 2 years ago. I am a busy woman so I havent had the time to write a review, but today being my day off, once again I find myself frustrated and disappointed with this set. The washing machine has a huge capacity, which was a huge selling point for me, however, if I put more than a small load in, the clothes come out still dirty, stinky and even have dry spots on them where they werent even in contact with the water. Even on deep fill it cleans the clothes inadequately, but at least they get wet. The dryer leaves the clothing rough and wrinkled unless I use the delicate setting, which I do for all cloths, and I use fabric softener liquid and a dryer sheet.I had a front load washer and dryer before, and my clothes came out clean and beautifully soft, but I replaced them because of the musty smell problem from the washer. I wish I would have kept them and figured it out. This set is the worst and I spent so much money on them. It takes so long to wash a load of laundry, and there is no way to interrupt a cycle without it draining and starting over completely. I have tons of laundry to do and I started 2 hours ago and the first load is still going. Geesh!!! Dont buy a Maytag. I paid for the extended warranty, but they are not broken. They have sucked from the very beginning.

I have owned two Maytag washers. Top load and front load. They have been the biggest piece of garbage I have ever purchased. My current front loader eats and destroys clothing. I have had to throw out numerous clothes as the machine simply destroys them. I have also had numerous problems with Maytag washers. The wiring is garbage. Couple yrs after purchase the washer shorted out. Im handy so I took it apart. Discovered a broken wire. I had to rewire a new connection with as. The wire used in manufacturing is so thin its line a strand of hair. Now it leaks under the drum. I had to place a container under the drum to collect the water. My other purchase was a top load. The lint was just a nightmare. Maytag sent me some contraption after numerous complaints that was suppose to assist in the collection of lint. Again, a piece of garbage. DONT BUY. Save your MONEY.

It is impossible to dry clothes in the dryer without the worst wrinkles you can imagine. I have 2 of them and they are both horrible machines!! The drum spins too fast which causes the clothes to get stuck against the tumbler fins. The centrifugal force holds them there and they just ride around without tumbling in the drum. When the cycle is finished the clothes have been dryer while jammed up against the fins and they are so wrinkled you have to wash them again. The ONLY way to get them through a drying cycle without a tremendous amount of wrinkles is to stop the machine every 5-8 minutes and fluff the clothes around inside the drum by hand. DO NOT BUY!!

Maytag Bravos XL - I purchased my maytag washer & gas dryer on 5/12/12. In Dec 2012 the heating element went out. I had to wait a week for a repairman to come out on Dec. 20 to fix it. Now for the second time on Dec. 30th, 2014 the heating element has gone out. I called for a repairman to come out. I have to wait until Jan. 12th 2015 for service. I have 8 people in my home including 3 grandchildren. This length of waiting is ridiculous and very inconvenient.

We purchased our Maytag Neptune washer and dryer in 2006. Months after our purchase, we tried every HE detergent we could find to see if our towels would smell fresh. Nothing we have tried has worked. I just went to Maytags web site. I found out there was a recall on this washing machine due to the mold on the door gasket. Why didnt they send me a recall notice so this could be corrected with a refund or something?

I bought a Maytag washer about 4 months ago and the dryer the washing machine has went down a couple of times but I managed to get it to start again. This time it will not start back up. It just as a little water and stuff and will not lock and wash. It never gets the clothes clean and you have to wash them twice or at least a residue on the clothing. I hate this washer and Im very saddened that Maytag will not come out - told me that they had to find someone. There was no one in the area that could fix my washer. It has been nearly a week now and no response from them. Im going to have to buy another washer. I am so upset to spend nearly 800 some dollars on a brand new washing machine and it does not work. I think that was all the complaints that I have seen on this page so somebody needs to put them on the news and also someone needs to start a lawsuit against this company. Shame on you Maytag. Very unhappy with your product and you.

I just finished paying off my Maytag Bravos series washer and dryer, and now they are failing! The washer isnt getting dirt out and the dryer power button broke. And its not like I can use some pliers to get the switch to work, its like the part that controls the power just dropped out of existence, leaving me with a knob in my hand that connects to nothing! Of course, the limited warranty only covers the drums, not the little dinky parts that break more easily. I had inherited a set of Maytags and they were well over 20 years old (possibly 30) and they both were powerhouses. But this is terrible! I feel super disappointed that Im going to have to buy a new set after only owning these for 18 months. I know I WONT be buying Maytag ever again, though!

We purchased this new set of Neptune Washer and dryer at Lowes, in Yakima Washington in 2004, and now discover that there is a class action lawsuit due to the problems associated with mold, the pump, the motherboard, etc. Our washer is making horrendous noises when it spins, and the motherboard barely works at all. I trusted Maytag and bought this set and a stackable set at the same time. Yes, I am angry and will never buy a Maytag or Whirlpool again.

We purchased a washer and dryer, spent in the neighborhood of 1000.00 hard earned $$... extended warranty, the whole enchilada. Maytag. dependable, lonely repair man, ha.. that is just so much stuff. Well anyway it was a Centennial set. What junk. Never really worked that well to begin with. I trashed them both after exhausting all avenues to make it right. Well I got the hair to report the mess to consumer affairs and see if they are what they claim to be. This is more of a warning to all consumers.The stuff you consume today isnt worth the money you pay for it. The money isnt worth the time you spent to earn it. I am gonna try to find a old washer and rebuild it, and a dryer as well. Or just use solar. Best to keep the old stuff repaired and running. I dont know how many people I have spoken to about this problem. Our infrastructure is crumbling. A consumer based economy. Only there is not anyone to service the products we consume... pitiful. I guess my wife will be out back with a tub and washboard before it is all said and done... she will not like it, I guarantee that. I could not even begin to repair the washer. It was a computer operated board that did not work correctly from the beginning. The dude came out from the repair shop and fixed it while still under warranty. It died a slow painful death shortly after that. I disassembled it with a screwdriver and now have potatoes growing in the tub.The dryer has not met the same fate yet. It just sits there, anticipating the moment when I remove it and dissect it with a Sawzall. And I guarantee that day is coming. Do not buy anything from Maytag or its subsidiaries, think long term. We have become a bic lighter economy. I have been on the forefront of that movement. I did not realize it at the time. I do now. and for that I am sorry. I always expect something to work when I need it and if it doesnt, I try to repair it. Cannot fix this stuff now. I purchased my Maytag Bravos washer and dryer in July 2007. As with any appliance, we always purchase the extended warranty as it usually runs about $100 on appliance. My first experience with problems was in February 2010 when the control panel went out. If I had not purchased the extended warranty, I would have been in trouble. It ran out in July 2008. It was downhill from there. In September 2010, it quit spinning; and the fabric dispenser would not work. I called again in September 2010. The tub was out of balance. In June 2011, the panel control went out again. In November 2011, it would not spin. In June 2012, the panel for control had to be changed out again. In July 2012, now the pump is leaking. And guess what, my extended warranty is up 8/1/2012. I contacted Customer Service, which said unless there was the same problem within 12 months, there was nothing they could do. Well, Im fired up. I intend on making a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and anyone else who will listen to me. I paid over $2000 for the washer and dryer, and it should last more than 5 years. This is ridiculous! When Whirlpool bought out Maytag, then the product went to crap! Dont tell me the Maytag repairman does not have anything to do now, because I know I keep him real busy. I am so tired of the companys just blowing you off when you work hard for your money and purchase a product for your family that should last at least 10 years. I am a principled person, and this is not going to go away easy. The repairman is coming next week to fix it again. I am going to give him an earful as well. The last one who came to change out the panel board (3rd time) said they had nothing but problems with this unit. Well maybe they made it that way, so when the warranty runs out, they can charge you an arm and a leg for the part and the labor to repair. I will never buy a Maytag product ever again. My next one will be the new LG washer and dryer. Talk about the lemon law. This product from what I am reading here should very well fall within that category.

I purchased a new washer and dryer from Lowes a few months ago. I had my former washer and dryer for nearly 20 years and although the dryer started to have some issues, the washer worked wonderfully. To have a matching set, I decided to purchase both a new washer and dryer. I was told the Maytag Bravos XL model was the top of the line and could handle large loads. After just a few washes I realized this machine does not add enough water to get the top clothes wet and there is no agitator to pull the clothes into the water. I returned to Lowes and was told to use the deep water wash. I tried that and still had clothes coming out from the wash still dry and dirty. Unfortunately Lowes would not take the machines back and I was told to call Maytag. Maytag said there was nothing they could do except send out a technician for a service fee of $98 to help me determine if the machine is functioning correctly. I could not dislike a washer and dryer more! The dryer catches clothes on one of the screws inside and pulls fabric pieces out. This is in my opinion the worst washer dryer set I could imagine having. I will share my experience with as many people as I can to help others avoid making the costly mistake of purchasing a Maytag product. Maytag does not seem to care they have designed and sold a dysfunctional product!

My husband bought a washing machine for me, February 2019, based on my request for a top load and a quick cycle time. The first issue was that the washer and dryer was the wrong color. I didn’t realize that he had ordered a stainless steel set before I accepted it. When he got home and discovered it, he called and tried to get the correct color, and Maytag refused to correct the mistake. When the technician starts the washer and dryer before they leave to make sure it’s working, it immediately becomes a used item that they can’t sell is what they explained to my husband! The technician also didn’t remove a plastic bag from the dryer vent that I asked him to check on before he attached the hose to the wall! Took me 2 days to figure out why the machine wasn’t drying the clothes properly!This Maytag washer has the longest quick washing time ever! 40 minutes! I have had trouble from day one with getting laundry clean with this brand new machine! And I’ve been washing clothes for almost 30 yrs! I discovered today that this washer only washes for 10 minutes in the soapy water and then begins draining! Unbelievable! This washing machine that takes 40+ minutes to complete a load of laundry! This is the worst experience I’ve ever had with a washer in 30 years of doing laundry! Don’t waste your money or your time even to look at this machine! It’s a poor buy!

Within the first 2 years, the dryer stopped heating. After a $300, a few parts and a few attempts to repair the dryer worked again. The sensor still kept saying check the vent and we gave up and removed the outside vent cover. Works great now. The washer worked great until year 4 when it began to sound like a helicopter. It got so bad that it literally hurt my ears and could be heard outside. It also leaked. Called repairman and they couldnt even remove the drum because it had rusted solid. After a total of 4 years we are replacing the set. Do not WASTE your money!

Never dies, never have had to have it serviced. House burned down is reason why it died. So I rebuilt, bought another one, then moved took it with me, then left it with my daughter and moved to Mexico. The dryer is still working to date and this all happened over 10 years ago. I sooo want another one. Best brand period. I only buy Maytag as they last. Unfortunately I do not have one now as they were unavailable in this country so bought something different. I was told the machine I have currently was as good as a maytag - they lied. I recently found out they have them now, so when I can afford one again, I will purchase one.

We lost our home in a tornado in 2005 and had to buy all new appliances. So, I bought a Maytag Neptune front load washer and dryer. It was my 1st ever. I will never buy another Maytag appliance again. Just at the end of the 5th year going into the 6th year, the bearings started to go. So, I checked with the place where we bought it and was told how expensive it would be to fix. It was anywhere between $500.00 and $700.00. Well, thats crazy. I therefore e-mailed Maytag numerous times and was thanked for my complaint. But they offered no help with this matter. If they dont back their stuff at all, why would I want to buy their stuff? They could have at least offered to help with it. There are only 2 people living in this house and there is no excuse why that washer should start failing already. If I thought it was worth it, I would load it up and drop it off at a Maytag store and leave it there. It still runs. But it makes an awful noise and we are just waiting for it to crap out. I am going to try to sell it for as much as I can get out of it, hopefully before it completely stops. Maybe some fix-it guy would want it. Well tell him whats wrong and they can fix it and sell it to some other poor person. I lost my job in January. Therefore, I cant afford that much to fix it. So, I will now have to try to find something used, because Maytag does not back their stuff. I would rate this machine lower if I could, but that wasnt an option.

I recently purchased a Maytag centennial washer and dryer from my local Home Depot. I set up a delivery date of 2/9/12. I was contacted on 2/6/12 by a Maytag staff telling me that my washer and dryer were on back-order until 2/29/12. This is unacceptable to me. Why does your company not tell its retailers that some items may be back ordered? I would have accepted this if told when I scheduled my original delivery, but being told days later and after taking the day off from work, is poor customer service to me. I am giving very serious consideration to voiding this order and finding a new company to deal with. I do not have the confidence that future issues will be shared or dealt with in a timely manner.

I have nothing but great reviews for my Maytag experience... In approx 1975 I purchased a Maytag W&D, Model MAH4000 MDE4000, when their advertisement was portraying Maytag repairmen as the loneliest repairmen. Maytag was so dependable that the repairman was NOT needed...and it was true... That Maytag W&D set lasted til approx 1998 when it was upgraded to the Maytag Neptune MAH4000 series... Had a minor problem with mold in the washer, but Sears and Maytag replaced the seal and made another modification... We also dried the seal at the end of the washing day and left the door slightly ajar between uses... Have not again had that problem.I have since given the Neptune set to my daughter and the washer and dryer are still in operation, WORKING SUPERBLY I might add... So I am searching for a good quality Model MAH4000 and MDE4000 to replace my current much older, yet functional Whirlpool... It may need some repairs and about a year ago, I spent $173 to replace the Pump which was clogged by a sock inadvertently stuffed around the top of the drum when too many items were pushed in at one time. I prefer not to throw additional money at this machine! So, if you know of a Quality pre-owned Maytag Neptune washer and dryer in the Lexington KY area, please contact me...

Our $1,000.00 Maytag Bravos is only 4 years old (also bought the matching dryer at the same time). We have had to purchase two new motherboards for the washer and now the uL, during the spin cycle, comes on and my clothes will not spin out. I have followed the manuals directions to unplug, wait, replug, redistribute, etc... all to NO avail. So very disappointed with this machine. Bought it because it was a Maytag, but will never buy another :( I had this machine repaired with major amount of parts and expense (due to the uL problem), BUT the uL code still keeps coming up. I am one really unhappy customer.

Maytag Neptune MAH8700AWW and MDE9700AYH Washer and Dryer - Electrical overload to house circuit, multiple water pump replacements (Maytag would not sell rebuild kit with impeller and gasket or seal causing us to have to buy complete water pumps with mounts and motor.), electronic error readouts, odor and mold washing machine. The welds breaking on the drum causing possible fire hazard by filling case up with dryer lint fibers, around the electrical components, and air intake heater and also allowing metal fragments to get imbedded in the familys clothes. Also, Maytag Oversize Capacity Plus Quiet Pack Heavy Duty with Lifetime Tub.

We purchased our Maytag Bravos washer/dryer in January of 2012. In October of 2013, I noticed that the lid would not close properly. In examining the lid, we discovered that the screws were in tact but the information panel on the inside of the lid had come unglued causing the lid to be obstructed from closing properly. After calling Maytag we were told that they make a quality product and, in what I consider to be a condescending reply, could not help us. Replacement of the lid with the service call would cost almost the cost of this expensive washer. So disappointed in what we thought was a wise purchase!

I purchased this dryer in September 2011. By August 2012, one month before the warranty expires, the thermo fuse blew and the dryer would not dry; no heat. I replaced fuse and 30 days later, it blew again. I replaced it again and now, March 2013, 6 months later, the same thing; the thermo fuse blew, no heat. The vent is clean and air flow is very good. Maytag will not admit a problem. This is not an inexpensive dryer; it may be cheap, but not inexpensive. Maytag quality appears to have vanished. I have Maytag throughout the house but will think twice before purchasing Maytag again. Chinese produced parts/products are inferior. Maybe Ill look at Bosch or LG from now on.

Purchased a new Maytag washer and dryer in November 2015 after having a old set not Maytag for 25 years with no repairs. WOW. Then the new washer went out in Feb. 2016, now the dryer in May 2016. Very unhappy. Is it because the machines are now made in Mexico? Cheap labor and cheap parts. ICK!!! Thank god for the extended warranty.

We are a family of three. We purchased our Washer and Dryer New, November 2011 at Lowes, in Lindale TX. I am disabled. I have had several spine surgeries and getting ready for another. I was injured at work and it left me crippled. I do not receive any benefits from my County Employer. My wife is a schoolteacher. We live on a limited income after my accident. We purchased this set with utmost confidence, our last set was twenty years old. We updated due to water, electric, and the environment. Our Maytags we had were still usable, it was just time for their retirement. They were hand me downs washer and dryer set. Truly! I dont know how old they were. When our washer started having troubles, it was making a horrible noise. We called Hughes Appliance. Theyre an authorized Maytag Repair Service Warranty Center. They sent Mark out we used them before. He stated the motor was not loctited from the factory. It worked its way loose almost coming completely off. This cost me a $85 service call. Mark also stated that the Tub Bearings were going out because off this. He called Maytag Customer Service and Dealer Warranty Service, said they wouldnt pay for the repairs or even the Service call for their factorys snotty WorkmanShip. I tried calling myself and got absolutely nowhere. I was polite, courteous and nice and they still Said, Sorry, We Know its less than three years old but thats the way it is. Sorry Sir! Have Nice Day! Its going to cost $389 to replace the tub bearings in top load washer. The washer only cost about 750 less than three years ago. Its the most expensive clothes washer Ive ever owned. One thing! If they dont make things right, I promise I will never own a Maytag again! And when I am in a store and see someone looking at their product I will make a point to tell them my situation and about my Maytag Washer. One thing is certain I can make sure young customer dont buy the wrong appliances while I sit patiently in my wheelchair waiting on my wife. Thanks Maytag! Its not What You Did For Me! I purchased a brand new MHWE450WW01 Washer and MGDE500VW2 Dryer in February. The dryer takes forever to dry something; seriously, 3 hours for jeans! The washer sounded more like a jet engine taking off. I called Brothers Main, they sent a service person who identified right away that it was a known problem and he had over 6 repairs already, but be prepared to wait up to 3 months for the replacement parts. This is ridiculous. The service center, you can never get through to them and when you do, they dont seem to care. I had a 10-year old washer that made less noise than this brand new one that I spent $1800 for.

We purchased our washer and dryer set in December of 2010 and had it for about 2 years with the extended warranty...needless to say around 1 1/2 - 2 years the metal around our bleach dispenser started rusting. Maytag considers this cosmetic! I am shocked to think that its cosmetic...on the outside of the washer yes, but on the inside no! It is faulty on Maytags part. I have spoken with Maytag and they tell me if it doesnt happen within the first 30 days there is nothing they can do. So I will tell anyone and everyone what was said to me via Maytags own repairman, Buy cheaper washers as NO ONE offers an extended warranty on the inside of the washer rusting. Whirlpool is the owner of Maytag now so beware of Whirlpool as well. Check out the warranties and make sure you will be covered longer than 30 days for rusting on any washer you intend on purchasing. We learned the hard way and well....we will be buying a cheap washer like the repairman suggested when this one goes out.

I reviewed lots of reviews, and decided that the negative reviews ones were sour grapes or uninformed customers! WRONG! Do not buy this washer. I replaced a 16 year old Frontloader Bosch! Should have had the Bosch repaired, but wanted a topload for a change, new look etc. From day 2 the washer began to squeal during the early cycle and at the end as well. Maytag repair was out for an unrelated repair on another appliance. I told the tech about it and he suggested its brand new etc, give it time to settle in.Now 4 months in and another service call to tell me its nothing!! It squeals so loud I can not run it while in the next room. I have videoed it and sent it to the Maytag repair in Glenwood Springs, and he said I should load it only full enough to see the impeller at all times!!!! Forget a full load of work clothes or a pillow or blanket. Which is to be expected to be able to wash. He said I needed to spread the clothes out manually along the outer sides of the TUB only, prior to washing the clothes! not over the impeller. I am not kidding! This is a open tub, so the impeller is the little thing in the middle on the bottom. I advised him, I videoed the event and even with three socks in it for a test it still squeals like a (well you get the idea). Trying to get Maytag help, but nowhere. Matching dryer door hinge broke first week, it has been repaired. Not good quality at all for the top of line Maytag. Then Maytag Man must be busier these days, than of old.

Bought the matching washer dryer set thinking would be energy saving and reliable. Two months after warranty ended it quit, press pause/start button, no reaction. Started looking online and found out this is Maytags Frankenstein. Checked obvious stuff like power supply. Wont be buying another Maytag product EVER. Dryer still works but washer dead. Am retired, low income. Cant afford expensive repairs. Maytag ought to be eating this, not the consumer.

Things that I have read that are true: Rips clothes/towels/sheets. No real problems with motherboard like some have stated. Bought Maytag Bravos Washer/Dryer in 2009. No real problems with the dryer, HOWEVER, may with the Washer. Had the pump go out in 2/2010 to the tune of $199.20 due to a small object in the pump. The repairman said it would just take a very inexpensive part from Maytag to prevent this. In 6/2012 washer not draining, clogged pump. All right, new to HE Washers, so told to use less detergent than detergent manufacturer recommends. $79.13 to fix clogged drain. Even though being careful with items in pockets, loose buttons, etc. AGAIN had pump go in 1/13, $214.22 (same problem cheaper in 2010, repair inflation). Wed noticed it was loud on the spin cycle (like a rocket going off) and were told at that visit the bearings would need to be replaced, and quoted approximately $280 to repair those. Havent fixed, waiting for something else to go wrong and then decide what to do with it. So in 4 years paying almost the purchase price of the unit (if I fixed bearings also). Crazy. If you bought a house and had to pay 4/5 of the house to repair it in that short of a time, no one would own a house!!!

We purchased a new Maytag Bravos washer and dryer. The washing machine senses the weight of the clothing and determines how much water to use. The machine does not put enough water in to completely immerse the clothes, therefore after the load has washed, the clothes come out of the washing machine partially dry. I have to wash the clothes a second time therefore using detergent twice, water twice, electricity twice and my time twice to wash each load. After a while the machine stopped washing altogether. I would load the laundry, add the soap, close the machine and start the machine. It would begin to put water on the clothes and sense the weight of the clothing and it would get stuck there. I would hear a buzzing sound and the clothes have been stuck on this same cycle for over 15 minutes and it would not wash the clothes. I tried starting the machine again, and it would drain the machine. Id have to add more soap, use more water, use more electricity and use my time again to try and wash the same load. They sent out a repair company who looked at the machine, did whatever they did (and left a bunch of water on the floor behind the dryer and didnt have the decency to tell me so that I could clean it up). They said they had to order parts and they would come back. They called me several hours later and said they had the parts in their warehouse and they could repair the machine.After a while, they said they were finished and that the machine was repaired. I tried to wash a load after they left and... the original issues were still there. I called the repair company and told them what happened. I typically do laundry once a week, so out of fairness to the technicians, I told the lady that I didnt have any more dirty laundry and that I wanted to try the machine again when I had dirty laundry the next week. I called the next week and Maytag said that I had to pay for the technicians to come out, even though they never repaired the washing machine.After complaints they offered me a $75 credit towards the repair company which I refused to accept. Then they told me I could buy another Maytag machine and they would give me a discount. So basically, I would get something like $76 off of a $600 machine. Really? And then the idiot had the nerve to tell me that it was customary for the clothes to come out partially dry. So in other words, he was telling me that these machines were designed with flaws to partially wash clothes so that consumers would have dirty clothes. I asked for a replacement machine of equal value and they told me that Maytag does NOT replace machines. They sell this crap, knowing that it is no good and they arent willing to replace it! I got someone else on the phone and he said that I will not have to pay for the technicians coming out a second time to attempt to fix the machine. I AM NOT A HAPPY CAMPER.

Below is the message I submitted to Maytag on 5/6/2016 at 10:00 a.m. ET and just received an answer via phone call today 5/9/2016 at 3:30 p.m. ET that Maytag will be doing nothing. Also, my husband has still not received a call about the drum seal and when Maytag can come fix this part that broke in their machine only months after purchase. I will let you read my message to Maytag and you may decide if you would like to buy their dryer after reading what I sent and knowing they will be doing nothing. (Washer works just fine).If this message could be passed onto customer retention and/or management, I would greatly appreciate that action being taken. My husband, and I purchased a Maytag Washer and Dryer Set from Lowes in (Listed Location) on (Listed Date) (Model Number: MGDC555DW2 and Serial Number: **). The dryers drum seal has already gone bad on one side. We had a Maytag servicer come to our home on Monday, May 2, 2016 to confirm this and said he needed to order parts and we would hear back from him on my husbands cell number in a few days, which we still have not received contact. Additionally, due to the drum seal going bad, a whole load of laundry has extreme tears in the material to the point of being ruined. I have pictures of the clothes/sheets and drum seal, however there is not a location on this contact form to upload them. I have three work shirts, worth around $30.00 each and new bed sheets just bought in the amount of $77.39 which have full threads pulled through them due to the dryer going bad in only four and a half months of normal usage. I am writing to request compensation for my items that are now unwearable/unusable and would be glad to provide pictures and receipts for price of items. We of course have not used the dryer since, which has been a huge inconvenience, especially with no update in knowing when the dryer will be fixed and reusable. I purchased a Maytag gas dryer in November 2011. This is January 2012. I have got to use mine maybe 2 weeks altogether since I had it. It is to be repaired for the 4th time tomorrow. In the meantime, I have to go to the laundry mat to dry clothes, Maytag refuses to do anything about this. They say they are helping me by getting it repaired each time it breaks down. I want a new dryer. The retailer I bought it from will not stand behind this product either. You see these commercials on TV where the Maytag guy is sitting back and waiting on a call. Thats a bunch of ***! I have never purchased a product from anyone that they would not stand behind it especially for the 4th time in two months. I will never buy another Maytag product as long as I live and I will tell everyone that I know not to buy one either.

This Maytag Centennial with commercial technology washer has ruined a couple of thousand of dollars of clothing, maybe 10 to 12 of my favorite shirts (ripped holes around the top of the pockets), bath towels and sheets and comforters and hand knitted small blankets that can never be replaced. It tore holes in nearly everything that was made out of cotton, I was doing spring cleaning and I normally wash most of my summer clothing, but this time this washing machine destroyed nearly all my summer clothing. This washing machine came with the house I just purchased. (I gave my older Maytag washer and dryer to some needy folks which worked great when I moved here). Disappointed in MAYTAG. Will never buy another Maytag!

The washer does not get clothes clean at all even with the help of odor blaster, does not spin right, does not even out the clothes, walks while it is spinning. My towels do not smell good at all. The dryer gets too hot and the lint trap is always a mess even though I clean it after every use.

When we sold our home (to buy a new one), it had a really nice matching set Kenmore front load washer and dryer, which worked fantastic!!! We gave the Kenmore set to someone, since the new home had a brand new Maytag Bravo XL, and Im regretting it... Our clothes are always full of lint, it does not remove any dirt and God forbid you spill something on your clothes, our white clothes are now yellow, and his work clothes (dress, shirts and pants) are ruined due to the harsh rubbing from the lack of water... I wish I would of done an Internet search on Maytags Bravo XL before getting rid of our old washer... BUYER BEWARE is all I can say!!!

I bought a every expensive Maytag Neptune (washer and dryer one unit) and it is now sitting in the carport. The washer broke and I had to have service people come to my house continuously. Over a period of 6 months I had to pay for 3 motor control boards plus service calls. Thats when I had I moved to the carport. In 2012 I bought a Whirlpool Duet washer and dryer so I would be able to stack them. I had to put them at Sears because I had to use layaway. I paid for them over 12 weeks and had to use a laundromat during that time. Last week I got a F01 E02 error code which means replace motor control board. These boards cost over $300 each not counting the cost to install it.I did talk to Sears since the washer was only bought 4 years ago. They were nice to me but could do anything for me. Truly sad when a washer only lasts 4 years for the amount of money I had to pay to purchase it. I dont know what I going to do now since I am now retired but I WILL NEVER BUY A WHIRLPOOL OR MAYTAG AGAIN.

We purchased our Maytag washer and dryer 5 years ago... THE ABSOLUTE WORSE PURCHASE... on average 3 repairs a year after the first 6 months!!! Now the dryer is down. It takes minimum 2 trips out from a repair company to fix even minor issues. We are going to Sears today to replace both units. PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF A HEADACHE AND DO NOT PURCHASE A MAYTAG! I purchase the Maytag Bravos washer & dryer set 3 1/2 years ago brand new. I figured being a Maytag it would last for a long time but nope I was wrong??? I will never buy another Maytag product as long as I live and I will tell all my friends and family not to purchase a Maytag product also!

Have owned washer and dryer for one year. Liked the styling, basic functions and the manufacturers reputation. Also liked the fact that there was a rebate on the pair. We bought the entry level Maytag pair from Lowes. Lowes delivered the units quickly. Thats the good news. The BAD news is (they) dont tell you when you buy the unit that you have to buy and use special detergents. One of the cycles on the dryer stopped working within ten weeks. But the REAL thing we hate about these is the fact that they are built out of PAPER-THIN METAL. If you push on it hard with one finger you will have a permanent dent. They proudly display American flag stickers on the units proclaiming Made In the USA. They should be more concerned about the quality of their construction. A local appliance salesman told us that twenty years ago (these) appliances would commonly last fifteen to twenty years. Today you are lucky to get five or six years (But then they get to sell you another, and another, and another).

Purchased a Maytag Bravos top load washer and dryer in May of 2011. We had our other Maytag washer and dryer for 14 years, and they were working fine when we sold them. We saved a year for a new one. We spent $1,700.00 for them both. We assumed they would last as long as our old ones. Been buying Maytag our whole lives. Besides the clothes not getting cleaned. Besides the washer smelling, even after we clean it regularly with the product proposed. Besides it not working on the normal function. Besides it shredding our clothes if you put it on the highest spin speed. It started to make a very loud noise. Like an airplane taking off. Called a friend of ours that use to have an appliance store in Fenton, Michigan for decades. He said it was the bearings and that You have to replace the whole tub. A $300-$400 fix. And that it would do the same thing again in a short period of time. He said that they are junk.We would be better off buying a new one. He said, The ONLY one you can buy now that will last like they use to is Speed Queen. I had never heard of them. They start at about $750. But they are worth it. He said that they dont make any washers to last more than 3-4 years anymore. We will NEVER buy Maytag again. And Sears wouldnt give us the time of day. Each time we called and asked to be switched over to the recall department, we just got a busy signal, then a fax machine noise. We have shopped at Sears for years. Boy, loyalty doesnt mean anything in this day and age. Im sure Speed Queen will be happy to help us out. DO NOT buy any Maytag products. There should be a class action suit against them for this. There are thousands of us that got ripped off. I cant tell you how upset my husband and I are about this. We are retired, and on a fixed income, and I am disabled. The stress this has caused cannot be put into words.

I purchased a Maytag washer and dryer (Bravo series) in February 2011. The top edge of the drum in the washer is fraying. I contacted Maytag about the issue and never heard back. Now my dryer is not drying clothes. It feels like there is heat, but after 1 hour, the clothes are all hot and steamy, but still really wet. Our previous washer and dryer was over 10 years old and had no issues whatsoever, we just decided to upgrade to an HE W/D and now after just 14 months, the dryer doesnt work. They dont make them last anymore.

Im so mad over my new purchase on the XL Bravo washer and dryer and Home Depot will not return. I have 3 kids and a hard working husband. My clothes do not come out clean no matter what cycle I use. It takes forever just to wash one load. If you spill something on your clothes and it dries crusty it will come out of the washer crusty. I want to cry. So much money wasted and cant get our money back. Would never recommend a washer without an agitator. Towels come out soaking wet, and dont spin dry if heavy...forget washing a blanket. 4th day using the dryer and now there is no heat. What was I thinking!! So mad and sad too!

Bought a Maytag front load washer and dryer, it rattled and shook from day 1, they have come out 3 times in 1 month to fix that, now it wont even spin. This will be the 4th day of work I have had to miss, and all they say is, We have to send someone out to repair. Sorry. Do not purchase their products!! They dont care.

Replaced a Maytag Bravos xl washer and dryer in 2015. First year was fine but almost right after the warranty period, the spinning cycle was loud. You cant even have a conversation near the washer. I put up with it after calling the repair department. Because I was told that it will cost as much to repair than buy a new washer. Now the washer does not drain when a small amount of cloth are in the washer. Dont buy this washer and dryer. Maytag is not as good as it once claim.

Maytag, Whirlpool, and Sears are junk dealers. We bought a Maytag Bravo topload washer in April 2011. Shortly after the first year, after using it once weekly, it began to stop draining. Clothes were soaked, meaning lots of wringing out by hand and using the dryer double time to get them dry. There are no clogs or kinks in the line. The machine is junk! It should have lasted much longer than this. I am not going to spend more money to have a repair person come and check on it. Its not worth it. Im going to buy a GE washer, the old-fashioned kind that gets clothes clean. Maytag, Whirlpool, and Sears are much worse-off breeds these days. They are off the list for good. Their products are a joke. Unfortunately, Im not laughing, but close to tears. Enjoy my money, you **.

I purchased Maytag washer and dryer on 12/6/2011 and they required four repairs of the same problem. The bellow and rubber seal continually break and rip. Same issue all four times and Maytags response was to get a second opinion. Okay, same issue and same problem. Maytag does not warranty their machines for a full year and have yet to solve the problem with the machine.

The only reason I am giving 2 stars is because I didnt actually spend my hard earned money buying these machines, they came with our house purchase. At first I was excited to have a good quality washer/dryer... Now I understand why the previous owners left them behind. My complaints are like most of the others on here - takes way too long to do a load because of the stupid water sensor, it doesnt wash loads evenly so everything on top hardly gets wet and washed properly, lint all over our clothes, powder residue left behind even though I set it to 2 rinses, a lot of settings but missing useful ones like quick wash... just all around disappointing. At least one good thing has come out of this and we will not be buying Maytag for our new laundry room. Saying that I have also read so many bad/worrying reviews about Samsung and LG - cant any company make good, reliable, lasting products and stand behind a warranty anymore?!

Disturbing that this product made it into production. I have the matching dryer too, and its just as bad. First the washer rolls up clothes into a tight ball better than I could do if I did it by hand. Then it spins, setting the wrinkles in thoroughly. Then, even though I shake out the clothes before putting in dryer, after the clothes come out of the dryer (without letting them sit in there) - the clothes look like someone drove over them with a car while they were rolled up in a ball. Bonus: the clothes dont even get dried. Ive watched the clothes in the dryer, the drum is designed so the clothes stick to the outside of it and go around, they never actually tumble or get any air circulation. What a disastrous product.

This washer has no agitator post and doesnt seem to clean as well as ones with agitator posts. I have heard that they are easier on your clothes though. The dryer works well enough, but I believe the control panel/motherboard needs replacing. The signal sounds even with the dryer turned off, which is startling to my dog and me. I reset it by flipping off the 220 breaker in the garage and leaving it off until the next time I do laundry!

We purchased our Bravos XL Washer and Dryer from Home Depot in November 2012. We also purchased the three-year extended warranty. I just replaced the washer today, and definitely NOT with a Maytag. We only spent that much on the Bravos XL set as we were heading into retirement and wanted to update our appliances. Maytag has always had a decent reputation, so we decided on this particular set.This washer was a terrible purchase decision. The drain hose had to be replaced due to leaking. We handled that fine. However, just past the extended warranty period, the main bearing went out. Also, the transmission was going out, and the washer was spewing nasty black fluid all over from underneath. The repair was going to be a minimum of $750.00 just for the bearing and tub assembly, and the repairman was honest and said it wasnt worth it, to just replace the washer. We didnt even discuss the transmission issue. We were more than a little disappointed in the duration of life out of this washer. I had my other washer for 20 years plus. Thankfully, and hopefully, the dryer will remain in good working order for some time.Being a senior, this was not the expected lifetime I was after out of a major appliance. I dont need this sort of expense every four years, or less as Ive read on these reviews. On average I do 2 to 3 normal sized loads of laundry a week at most. Not good Maytag, not good. If there ever is a class action suit in regard to these machines, Im interested!

Maytag Commercial # MVWB765FW0: My husband and I wanted to get rid of our GE front load. It was horrible. Even constant cleaning and leaving the door open all the time, our clothes still smelled like mildew and musty. My hubby wanted an LG and I said no way. As a little girl my mom had an old wringer washer and her first electric washer was a Maytag in the late 50s. She passed away in 2001 and in her lifetime she had 2 electric washing machines both were Maytags. They were so dependable and built to last so naturally I wanted a Maytag. Wrong! I am so disappointed. We purchased it in Sept of 2017 for $695. I was so excited the first time we used it. It was a little noisy, but living in the county and having a well we were glad it was an energy/water saver. The first couple of months it was so refreshing to have clothes that did not smell musty and mildewy. I noticed they were really wrinkled but I still iron anyway so it was not a big deal. However ironing over and over again on some items did not get rid of the wrinkles and the past 2 months I have been going thru lint rollers like crazy and it still does not come off. I have to use a slightly damp lint brush or go over the clothing with packing tape to get the lint off. It is horrible! I dont want my GE back but I dont want this one either! I wish I would have read reviews first and listened to my hubby. I wont ever have another Maytag and when this one goes I will certainly read reviews and go with something more dependable. Unfortunately for now we have wasted the money and it is ruining our clothes! I agree that we should all do the class action. There are just too many of us experiencing the same issues. Maytag should do right by the consumer! We have learned our lesson, review before you buy!

I am very happy with my washer. It is easy to use and does an outstanding cleaning job. I have had it for almost 7 years and have not had any problems with it. It has many different settings so it can handle virtually any cleaning job. I am particularly happy with the spin speed which is adjustable but the high speed spin really wrings the water out so the dryer which incidentally is also a Maytag drys in a fairly short time. The washer is a front loader and doesn’t use much water.

Called Maytag. Was part of 2005 recall with Neptune Maytag washer. We did not realize it and now Maytag will not do anything. Now having dryer issues with a cracked drum. Called and there was no resolution or attempt to resolve.

TRASH! Bad, Destructive, Dangerous. I am in awe of the worthless, destructiveness of this machine. This washing machine does not add enough water to even cover clothing. It agitates, tangles & tears clothing. You end up with dirty filthy tangled clothing. And this is after waiting for it to make some kind of idiot decision as to whether or not to wash your clothes at all. I frequently go out and it’s made a decision not to start at all. There also is no lint filter, so subsequent loads of laundry are dirtier than the first. You can’t wash clothes without enough water to cover them. I read online that it adds water depending on the weight of the clothing, so wet the clothing first to make it think it’s a heavier load. When you do that it spins the clothes first before it begins to wash them. Your clothes still come out of the machine dirty. If you’re looking for revenge, make someone a gift of this washing machine. Otherwise, put it out with the trash.

We purchased a Maytag Washer and Dryer from The Home Depot in September of 2017. We did not purchase the extended warranty because of our confidence in the brand. Within less than a year, both appliances started making noises. By September of 2018, the washer sounded like it had a bag of mice squeaking inside every time we ran a load and had stopped spinning entirely. I called and spoke to a very kind lady who assured me that even if we were outside the one year manufacturers warranty, they would offer us the extended warranty without question because it was so close to the one year purchase. She took my credit card, we were charged for a five year plan and service was scheduled. After service, both units were still louder than I would prefer but the technician said it was common. Over the last few months, both have become louder and louder. Now the dryer shuts off and wont stay on. When I called back to schedule service again, the date of our purchase was all of a sudden in question. (I applied for the contract over the phone so THEIR rep entered the purchase date.) They are now telling us they will only honor the cost of parts and we are subject to pay for diagnostics and labor (which is the largest cost of repair). They are telling us our contract has to be cancelled and AFTER we receive and PAY FOR all but the parts, we can call and pay for a NEW contract. This has been the WORST appliance purchase we have EVER made and we have lost all confidence in the quality of Maytag/Whirlpool appliances. Both units have been VERY disappointing and we spent over $700 on each unit. NEVER AGAIN.

I recently purchased a Maytag washer and dryer from Lowes. The performance of the washer was highly unsatisfactory. The water sensor does not allow sufficient water to enter the machine. Thinking it was a malfunctioning machine, I spoke to Lowes, and ask them to swap it out with another machine. They were cooperative and pleasant to deal with however, the replacement machine was no improvement. The water sensor does not allow enough water to enter the machine to even begin to saturate the load of laundry! I bought a washing machine, not a dry cleaning machine, but a dry machine was what I got and that is NOT okay with me. The literature states that load will not be covered with water, so that is how it is designed to work. With inferior water levels, and no agitator, there is not even a chance of water splash saturating and cleaning clothes. I am not an engineer, but common sense says this is efficient nonsense. VERY, VERY DISSATISFIED!
