I bought a Maytag washer about 4 months ago and the dryer the washing machine has went down a couple of times but I managed to get it to start again. This time it will not start back up. It just as a little water and stuff and will not lock and wash. It never gets the clothes clean and you have to wash them twice or at least a residue on the clothing. I hate this washer and Im very saddened that Maytag will not come out - told me that they had to find someone. There was no one in the area that could fix my washer. It has been nearly a week now and no response from them. Im going to have to buy another washer. I am so upset to spend nearly 800 some dollars on a brand new washing machine and it does not work. I think that was all the complaints that I have seen on this page so somebody needs to put them on the news and also someone needs to start a lawsuit against this company. Shame on you Maytag. Very unhappy with your product and you.

Always have bought Maytag. 16 years on both washer and dryer. The newer models, which I dont have, locks the top of the washer after it starts. I would hate that. I dont care if they are stackable but I would want full size. I dont think I would pay extra for a front loader, but the only front loading washer I have ever owned is small and at our camp.

My mom decided to splurge on a new Maytag Bravos washing machine and matching dryer thinking that at age 80 the machine would outlast her. But no. After 4 years and just past the warranty, the timer started going crazy. The repairman recommended a $250 motherboard and $90 pump and $500 labor (yes he is next on my list) and it still does not work. I WILL get her money back for the repair and we will NOT be getting a bravos to replace it.

I purchased my Bravos washer and dryer in Sept. 2010. What a mistake! The dryer is okay but the washer is a nightmare! The repairman and I are on a first name basis. The last time he was here, he showed me how to recalibrate my washing machine. It stops working in the wash cycle, fills with water and then sits there. I have to manually drain it and start over. Then it gets confused and fills with water when it is supposed to be spinning and draining (consequently draining my well). I shouldnt have to recalibrate anything in life, much less, a brand new washing machine.

Nobody seems to know how to replace this part online. I have discovered what a POS this Maytag MGDC700VWO dryer is. The ONLY way to access this part is to beat an access hole in the bottom-left panel. After the repair, you are left with a nice 4 hole??? What an absolute POS! The back panel has screws but after removing them, I discovered the panel is also tack-welded! This is beyond stupid! Maytag used to be a great product before they were obviously sold to the Yugo factory. Time to move on.

I bought a Maytag Dryer from Lowes in December of 2013. I paid 600.00 for this dryer which I thought was going to last for quite awhile. It stopped working in January of 2016. (2 years old). I had a repairman come out and he said the motor had burned out and he wanted 300.00 to fix it. I called Lowes and asked if I should expect the motor to burn out in 2 years; they said of course not - call Maytag. That proved to be a complete waste of time. They would do nothing. They simply said that there was not a recall on that machine and they were not technicians. However they would be glad to send someone for 125.00 dollars to look at it, then the parts and labor would be more. I have never had a dryer burn out in 2 years - not even when I was raising children and using a dryer daily. This Maytag clothes dryer isnt even used every week and when it is used, there are a few small loads. I am appalled and disappointed in Maytag and the poor quality of this appliance as well as their horrible customer service.

I am in my 24th year of using my Maytag washer and dryer. The set was purchased in 1996, so it has been well worth the money. At this time, it does not spin out as well as it used to, but I just fluff the load and spin it again and then it is ready for the dryer. I have been very pleased with the set and have never had to have a repairman work on them. Cant ask for more than that!

All I can say is, Wow. My Maytag washer and dryer have never needed anything in 21 years of service. Purchased in 1997 at Lowes in Chambersburg, PA. Both work and look like new! Both are top of the line units. Would buy again!

Wish I had read the reviews! I have had Maytag before and they were awesome. New purchase is horrible! Doesnt clean the clothes, leaves a residue on clothing and dryer does not dry properly. Called Maytag and they said use Affresh. Spent $10 on a pack of 5, and it did no good. My dark clothing is getting ruined! The washer is also incredibly LOUD! Very disappointed in this company and would never recommend them to anyone! I had purchased at Lowes, but had a delayed delivery, so I cant take them back, or I would.

Lets be real and say that people with good experiences dont often end up on websites writing reviews because they are busy enjoying their product! I purchased my set in early 2012 and will admit that initially there was a learning curve with using a washer with no agitator. I enjoy doing laundry and Im really good at it but with this washer I had to change my routine. Always pretreat stains. Deposit clothes loosely around the drum and shake clothes loose before putting them in the dryer. My clothes come out great! I have a child, two dogs and a greasy truck driver man and everyones clothes smell great. I can wash my king bedspread and anything else in my house with no issues. And my washer has never torn any of my clothing, however fragile. I dont iron often and I hand wash nothing.I give 4 stars instead of five for the extra steps to ensure my clothes are clean and wrinkle free. No they dont make things like they used to but thats with all the new stuff. My moms 3000 dollar Samsung set (her washer) isnt working as I write this. Too bad more people with good experiences dont get online and share. Hope this has been helpful.

I just started searching the web for information on this item due to the problem I am having. My Neptune Front Loader Model MAH55FLBWW washer makes horrible noises when on spin cycle, and is out of alignment so that the hard plastic bit around the opening is being scraped off. Some of my more delicate items have been ruined or damaged due to this. I bought the Neptune washer/dryer set with stands probably 10 years ago from Home Depot. I am sure the warranty has long since expired, and I have not contacted anyone about possible repairs. At this time, I am not financially able to do much about this. I have never had much of an issue about mold, no issues at all with the dryer, and no motherboards needing to be replaced. From reading what others have had to deal with on this site, I consider myself lucky.

We purchased our Maytag Bravos washer and dryer in 2008. Within a year, the hinges that held the door open on the top load washer broke. In year 2, the area around the fabric softener dispenser rusted so badly that it almost completely ate the porcelain enamel away. In year 4, it started making a noise that I will compare to a jet on takeoff during the rinse cycles. It continued to work but got louder and louder. We looked into the cost of the repair, which was going to be $350 parts + labor. If it had been a good machine, we might have considered fixing it but it wasnt. Even a set of sheets could put it off balance, which stopped the machine with the wash cycle incomplete. It also set its own water level based on the weight of the clothes and many times the top items came out with dry spots that hadnt even been submerged throughout the whole cycle. Consequently, the clothes were never very clean and I would have to rewash many loads. This machine was not cheap - around $1,000. I was so frustrated and felt completely taken by the Whirlpool company again. We have had many unhappy situations with their products over the years - Kitchenaid, Jenn-Air and Maytag. We finally learned our lesson and researched washers online. The best rated that we could find was Speed Queen. We couldnt find it in Canada, so my husband drove 5 hours round trip to the US and bought one. We have had it 4 months now and the difference is unbelievable. Our clothes are clean again. I can set my own water level and the hot cycle actually gives you hot water. It never goes off balance no matter how many or few clothes it has. If I see that I need more water part way through a cycle, it has a button that lets you add some part way through. It doesnt have a lot of bells and whistles. Its a basic but excellent machine that is a pleasure to use. I would recommend it highly. I realize it has only been a short time, but my Maytag never performed like this machine even from day one. It reminds me of my very first washing machine many years ago, an Inglis, which never had a repair in 15 years of use. If our dryer goes, we will definitely buy Speed Queen. The trip is well worth it.

Since the day the Neptune washer and dryer were installed, the washer has given me nothing but problems. It vibrates so badly and dances all over the floor.I have had the repairman over at least seven times and, now, it is out of warranty so I am spending my own money. The last service man was from Hurst Appliances in Regina, SK. He removed the pedestal to see if this might be the problem. He also sold me some foot pads for $50 that he said might help the problem. However the machine is still vibrating and the terrible mold smell comes out of it as well. I am thoroughly disappointed in this product. I will never buy another Maytag product and tell my friends not to as well.

In May 2007, I bought a matching Maytag Neptune washer Model MAH5500 and dryer. I also bought the 3-year extended warranty. Approximately 4 years later, actually 1 month after the warranty had expired, the washer started to get very loud and sounded like a jet engine taking off. I called Brennen Repair Service in Midland, Michigan. The repair man came out and said he did not even have to look at the washer. He knew what was wrong. The bearings were going in the machine. He said I could fix it for approximately $600 or just run it till it quits. I was furious. I called Maytag and explained my issue and was told that there was not a recall and they could do nothing to help me. They even told me that they had not had any complaints of this nature regarding this model. I told them they were full of it. I know of at least 4 people in my family and workplace that have had to replace the Maytag front loader piece of ** washing machine. I think Maytag should stick behind their product with all the complaints out there. I would like to shove my washer through their front window. I previously owned a Maytag washer for 25 years and had not one issue. It ran perfectly. I will never buy another Maytag product nor will anyone in my family. Maytag, you suck. Your service and reputation is appalling.

We purchased the washer and dryer in June 2009. This past weekend, I noticed that the washer was leaking. The price to fix it is half of what a new machine will cost. I am very disappointed in Maytag. When I purchased the machines, I thought I was purchasing a quality product. Ive had paid much less for washers that last longer. Needless to say, I am shopping for another washer this week and it will not be a Maytag or Whirlpool. They are pieces of junk!

We have had this washing machine almost 1 year and the small problems have grown enormous. In addition to the constant soap residue left on the dark clothes (my guess is its on the light clothes too, but you just cant see it) the washer goes out of balance frequently (they are replacing the suspension, after they said its all working great). The repair man said Im not loading the clothes properly, I need to roll each item of clothing into a ball and then place it in the washer. Are you kidding me, my new machine has special needs? And dont put in too large of loads. What!!! Its an XL capacity but I cant do an extra large load, because half the clothes wont get wet or clean. Maytag blew it big time with these models, I could talk about the dryer too. Maybe next time.

Both my washer and dryer are Maytag. Dryer element shorted out but was still under warranty so was fixed. Washer is very loud and now makes a rattling sound. Every so often it will hang in the middle of a cycle and the lid wont open until I unplug it.

I have had Maytags for 20 years and never have been disappointed before I bought the Centennial and it is junk. It doesnt even put enough water in to wash the clothes. After it breaks, I will never buy Maytag again. When did you guys start going down the drain literally? My clothes do not get cleaned. I live in the country and we all get dirty. We need a dependable washer and dont even get me started on the dryer. I thought maybe you would care enough to know.

We purchased a Maytag Bravos Washer and companion dryer in March 2018. I like to wash our king size bedding often and liked that this model had no agitator and could accompany the large loads. I am using the extra rinse constantly since I dont trust the amount of water (not) used. The dryer however, is worthless! No matter the garment or setting, everything comes out in a ball. Tshirts are twisted and wrinkled and half wet. I end up rewashing almost everything then being a guardian for the dryer---checking and rechecking every load. Maytag says sorry, its out of warranty. I absolutely hate these appliances!

I purchased Maytag Bravos MVWX500XWO top loading high efficiency low water washer and it is a piece of junk. All my clothes came out horribly wrinkled and ruined a white jacket when I used the color safe bleach dispenser. I purchased the machine from Sears, where I purchased the extended warranty. I had an A&E technician out and he explained that the new technology of machines are expecting all clothes to be dried in the dryer. Okay, but what do you do with clothes that say hang dry and they come out so wrinkled and twisted that even an iron cant get the wrinkles out? Another suggestion from the technician, put the hang-dry articles in the fluff cycle of the dryer. Well, thats a big nugatory since they are supposed to hang dry them. Supposedly, this machine is all about energy efficiency but isnt it a contradiction when you are using more energy with running a dryer? Someone suggested to me that perhaps there wasnt enough water being dispensed during the spin cycle resulting in horribly wrinkled clothes. Either way, I am on my last nerve with this machine. I always thought that Maytag was an elite company. Well, how wrong I was! Their customer service is pretty much not customer-oriented. Its all about the almighty dollar. After speaking to a supervisor, she explained to me that I should contact Sears with my complaint that Maytag had no recourse. Well honey, Sears did not make the atrocious machine. They are just the so-called messengers. I have unfortunately found that once Maytag sells their horrendous product, they dont even stand by it. Now isnt that typical of companies nowadays and sadly, lacking with this company? Pride in their workmanship! And again, its all about the almighty dollar and who gives a ** about customer satisfaction? Maybe thats why they dont have the Maytag repairman. He was ashamed to be associated with this irreverent company.

I purchased my Maytag Bravos Washer/Dryer several years ago, and I have hated them ever since. The clothes smell and are wrinkled. The dryer never gets the clothes dry. It will run and run and run, and the clothes will still be wet. I previously owned a Maytag Washer/Dryer for nearly 20 years and never had a problem. This set is a piece of junk. When I go to Lowes or any store for that matter and see someone considering this product, I warn them as quickly as possible to stay away from this product. I will continue to do so. Shame on you, Maytag, for making such a horrible product and for being too weak to stand behind your product. I will never buy Maytag again and will do my best to make sure none else does either.

The Maytag Bravos XL low water washing machine is very disappointing. About 20% of the time it needs a second rinse because there isnt enough water released to rinse clothing. Forget washing anything large. It just doesnt do it. Waste of money. The matching dryer is just fine - no complaints.

I purchased a Maytag Bravos washer and dryer 3 years ago, thinking I was buying a high quality washer and dryer seeing that it has the Maytag name on it. When it was nine months old, I had to have the complete tub assembly replaced. Now coming upon three years old, I am having similar issues with the machine so I called out a repair service out to see what my options are. Come to find out this time that the shocks that support the tub are bad. All three of them need to be replaced at a price of $455.00. At this point, it is not worth putting the money into it. Maytag, 3 years old and I am having to start shopping for another washer. It will not be a Maytag.

I purchased our washer and dryer together in 2012. Now my washer is making a really bad sound on the spin cycle. I talked to Maytag in Tenn. and they wanted 130.00 just to show up. Plus 300 to 500 for the parts that was needed. Wow. I am retired and on a fix income. I called a local repairman in OkC. After telling him the brand of washer I had, he said he would not come out to fix it because of the money would be expensive. 300 to 500 dollars for parts. He said it would be cheaper for me to purchase a new one. This seems to be a real problem. I talked to Maytag supervisor and she could not wait for me to get off the phone. Nor would she give me her name. Buy Whirlpool!!!!!!!!

We have had this washer/dryer stack up for about 2 years now. Not long after it was purchased from Best Buy, it started smelling like mold, even though we were doing everything possible to keep it ventilated. Best Buy employee said that service was not covered by the warranty that we purchased, so they suggested we YOUTUBE some ideas on how to get rid of the smell. They said it was a common complaint for front load washers. We have tried Affresh, hot water and bleach, hot water with vinegar and lavender, etc. Nothing is working. There is mold on the plastic inside the washer door and the stench is horrible now. You can smell it when you walk into our home. I believe that stench is the reason we are all having respiratory problems, allergies, etc. I just dont know what to do anymore. Really frustrating!! These appliances cost a lot of money.

I bought a Maytag Bravo washer and dryer 18 months ago. While taking clothes out of my washer, I noticed that the plastic collar above the washtub was shredding around the edges. I called the manufacturer about it. Because it was more than 12 months old, they refused to do anything about it. I feel that shouldnt happen so soon after purchase. Im a single person and dont do that much laundry. The piece should be made of something more durable. I will never buy another Maytag product. Is there anything further I can do to pursue this?

Wow, I bought a Maytag Bravo 300 series washer and dryer three years ago. They have been a complete piece of crap. I spent nearly $2k on the set at Home Depot. During that time, they have been serviced four times and I am now out of warranty and the washer is constantly breaking with LD and F51 errors. The heavy dryer door with light as hell hinges fell off on my wifes foot when she was loading it. I cannot get it back on. It is rigged so it will work. I contacted Maytag and they were not helpful at all. Pretty much sorry about your luck. I will never buy another Maytag product again. I agree with other posters. Too bad you cant chose zero stars!

My Maytag washer and dryer (5000 Series) is about 2 years old. Just as soon as the warranty ran out, I started getting F35 and suds error messages. Information found on the internet tells me that many Maytag customers have experienced the same problem. Whats up with this Maytag? Since many of your customers have experienced the same problems, are you willing to meet the consumer in the middle by repairing the product at no cost or are you building the appliances to last as long as the warranty?

Purchased a new Maytag washer top load/Dryer set on April 1, 2016. Having trouble uploading receipt but I paid 1,145.83 for set. It took 2 weeks to get it delivered on April 15. 1st use it shook and wobbled even though the load was balanced but Ive read that is a problem with these machines. 1st load of clothes, washer didnt fill with enough water to wash properly - 3-4 inches of water for a full load of jeans. Top 2/3 of clothes hardly got wet! Changed the setting, same problem. Changed the setting again, same problem. I had to stand at washing machine and keep lifting the lid to get more water in the machine. Clothes didnt rotate in machine so all the clothes on top half didnt get cleaned. The spin cycle is scary! You could hear clunking noises and it had nothing to do with load being balanced. Did a small load and same thing with water level and spin cycle. Called Home Depot to pick up both machines on next business day. The dryer lint trap is so long, it made a mess trying to remove the lint even after only 1 load. NEVER AGAIN MAYTAG! Ive never regretted an appliance purchase like I do now. Maytag and April Fools day are a perfect match. Only its for real and not a joke.

Purchased dryer less than 6 months ago and now have an issue with the powder coating bubbling up and flaking off on the dryer drum. Maytag says not covered under warranty unless found in less than 30 days. If I had know that I would not have purchased the dryer.

I purchased my Maytag Bravos XL washing machine in July 2016. In August 2016 it broke for the first time. I was just passed my 30 day moneyback guarantee, so Sears would not take the washer back. I have had more than 10 service calls on this washer in one year. I live in a rural area, so Maytag told me I was in a non-serviceable area and would have to wait WEEKS until they found a repair person willing to come to me. I only live 40 miles from Richmond VA, where I purchased the washing machine, so imagine my shock when they told me they couldnt fix it because of my location! Ive had countless people in and out of my house, and it still does not work right. You can only do very small loads, so the perk of having an XL machine is none. But even at that, it does not properly clean anything, tangles clothes, and will leave even the cleanest items looking terrible when they come out.Ive had a new circuit board, new transmission, new bearings and gears, new balancing rods, and still, Im left with a machine that does not wash and makes terrible grinding noises. I bought the washer and matching dryer as a set, and even the dryer had to get a new circuit board put in it in the 1st 60 days! After thousands of dollars in repairs on a $1000 washer, Maytag will not admit I have a defective machine and replace it! I just ran a load of laundry and have to call Maytag yet again, because the grinding noise gets louder with every run. Do not waste your money!I would give anything to have the 29 year old set I gave away when I bought this garbage back! I have literally been on the phone with Maytag in tears because it doesnt work properly, Ive had to throw away items that would not come clean because there is not a laundromat available in the town I live in. All I want is to be able to keep my family in clean clothing and linens, doesnt seem like too much to ask.

We bought a new top of the line Maytag MGD7000XW dryer about 2 years ago. It worked great for about 6 months, thing started acting funny. All of the front console lights stay on all of the time and it ONLY dries on high heat now. This all happened after the warranty period. So fine, I was going to buy a new complete front console (CONSOLE Part Number: W10388467 $300.) as the online repairman suggested. Guess what, Maytag no longer offers the part to fix my dryer. So now I have a 2 year old top of the line P.O.S. MAYTAG dryer that cant be fixed. I will never buy from this company again (Maytag).

My only issue is that I am short and find it difficult to reach the wet clothes to put them in the dryer. Other than that I am quite happy with the machine. I have had no problems to date. Thank you.

TRASH! Bad, Destructive, Dangerous. I am in awe of the worthless, destructiveness of this machine. This washing machine does not add enough water to even cover clothing. It agitates, tangles & tears clothing. You end up with dirty filthy tangled clothing. And this is after waiting for it to make some kind of idiot decision as to whether or not to wash your clothes at all. I frequently go out and it’s made a decision not to start at all. There also is no lint filter, so subsequent loads of laundry are dirtier than the first. You can’t wash clothes without enough water to cover them. I read online that it adds water depending on the weight of the clothing, so wet the clothing first to make it think it’s a heavier load. When you do that it spins the clothes first before it begins to wash them. Your clothes still come out of the machine dirty. If you’re looking for revenge, make someone a gift of this washing machine. Otherwise, put it out with the trash.

My husband and I purchased a brand new Maytag dryer in January 2012. Our first issue came when the sensors went out in March; then the belt slipped off the drum in June; then the thermistor was defective in July; and now, the same thermistor code has popped up twice since replacing it. I purchased my Maytag washer and dryer set from the Maytag store in Glendale, AZ in September 2005. I even bought the stands for them. With my purchase, I got the extended warranty for four more years. I didnt realize that I would really need it. I have had so many issues with the washer and dryer I cant even count - from the control panel not working, to the noise and the vibration when washing, or maybe in the smell of moldy cheese. I also have issues with the constant chimes of D5 code that keeps coming up on the display screen. After 2009, I finally gave up on calling the Maytag customer service folks to have someone come and service the washer because it was out of warranty. I just decided to live with all those issues.As far as my dryer goes, the rollers went bad and that was replaced. The burnt smell isnt so bad as long as you use a wire hanger with a sock on the end of it and clean the inside of the vent. Then try to vacuum it, take the sock, get it wet, and clean the inside of the vent again. This was the most expensive piece of junk I have ever purchased in my life (almost $3,000.00 with the stands and warranty).What really gets me upset is I had the Maytag people servicing my washer and dryer up until 2009 and no one told me about a recall of my washer and dryer. The only reason I found out about it was searching for the specs as the washer finally died and I am replacing it. Trust me. I will not be purchasing a Maytag. I know that Whirlpool purchased Maytag so I am not even going to consider Whirlpool either. Since Whirlpool purchased Maytag, Whirlpool should have contacted all Maytag consumers, (which they didnt), put ads in newspapers (which I did not see) or put an ad on TV. None of these appeared to have happened.By the way, when I bought my Maytag appliances, I was supposed to get a $200 rebate for buying the stands that never came. It must have gotten lost in the mail - as well as the Tide coupons for three years. You, guys, remember that too. I will never ever purchase a Maytag appliance or Whirlpool, since they own Maytag now.

My husband and I purchased our Bravo washer and dryer from Home Depot about 5 years ago. They have been the worst ever. Clothes always tear and we continue to receive an F1 error every time we try to wash something. I dont have the money to buy a new one, but I sure wish I did. We used to own a Neptune Model. After always leaving the door opened and following the recommended monthly cleaning and many extra cleanings with diluted bleach and water, we could not get the smell out. We paid for a new seal, Advice from Washing Machine Repair service even though we paid a lot for an extended warranty. We had to pay for this ourselves. We also had our year to year maintenance. Because we could not fix the issue, nor would MAYTAG, we donated the set to donated it to Salvation Army.We decided to give MAYTAG another chance, so we purchased a brand new FRONT-LOAD WASHER and DRYER in 2014. As I would repeat the same regiment, I would notice little black specks, so I would clean it an extra time with Afresh. I have continued to this date, repeating the same regiment of keeping my washer clean and serviced as we should, I now have the whole tray dispenser spotted with LARGE black goo that smells. So I have continued to clean my Washer.After returning home from the Cleveland Clinic, I was ready to do our laundry from the trip, more black goo and smell coming from my Maytag front-load washer. My sister had stayed with my 86 year old mother and had wash a load of towels while we were gone. She left the door opened also as she was instructed many times, and that is how we found it. So I took the dispenser tray out as usual and bleached it and scrubbed it. As I did this I noticed bigger areas of goo. I looked in the dispenser housing and OMG it was covered with black mold. I am appalled that our $900.00 Washing Machine is like this. This IS BLACK MOLD, There is no way to remove this mold. I have the sides and bottom cleaned with bleach, BUT I cannot get into the multiple crevices.I called Maytag and I was initially told by a Maytag Customer Service Person said that it sounds like BLACK MOLD and MAYTAG COULD DO NOTHING! I asked to speak with a supervisor. At first she seemed a little put off, but as we talked she became more pleasant, I offered to send pictures or a video of the WASHER WITH THE BLACK MOLD and she said no. She told me to pour bleach into each dispensing compartment and the drum. Then run a wash with no clothes on all HOT WATER 2 times, then rinse 2 times and this should get rid of it and to also leave the dispenser drawer open a crack as well as the door after each wash.The Supervisor said ok and thanked her for her help. Then she said good luck and thanks for calling MAYTAG. Ive did and already do everything our Washer manual says to do on cleaning and maintenance of my expensive Maytag Washer and dryer. The manual says nothing about leaving the dispenser drawer open a little so it dries. The bottom of the housing looks great from doing this, along with me scrubbing it until 5:00 am with diluted bleach water. However, in the MANY SEAMS, CREVICES, THE SCHUTE AND POSSIBLY THROUGHOUT THE WASHING MACHINE IS BLACK MOLD that we cannot access without disassembling the machine and voiding our extended warranty.MOLD GROWS RAPIDLY and causes many illness. I already have an ongoing illness since childhood, I take care of my 86 year old mother, my husband just finished cancer treatment in January. We certainly do not need any other health issues. I called my local Appliance repair company and they said that they normally do not handle anything like this, but if my husband couldnt take the outside of the machine off then the top I could pay for a repair person to come out to take it apart then call and have them come back to put it back, pay them again to reassemble our Washer.I believe Whirlpool in its purchase of Maytag has taken a Monkey on its back. Maytag will do nothing, why should they? They already have their money from when we purchased our machines along with money from many other consumers who also have ongoing issues with their WHIRLPOOL/MAYTAG Front-Load washing machines. It is undignified and deceitful how they treat their consumers with such disregard when we have filled their pockets by being loyal customers.Word of mouth is good or bad advertisement for any company. Everyone who has unresolved issues of any kind can write a formal complaint to the CEO and President of Whirlpool/Maytag. The address is on the internet. Shame on Whirlpool/Maytag for taking many consumers hard earned money, when apparently some of Whirlpool/Maytags money is ill gained by developing and manufacturing a consumer product that causes black mold and marketing it to sell to us, the consumer. Maytag Dryer- Bravos XL - Waiting for my third service call since purchasing my dryer less than 2 months ago. After 2 service calls the repairman found a piece of the mold that should have been removed at the factory causing problems. Now, my dryer made a weird noise, sparks flew and it no longer works. After calling the seller and the manufacturer requesting a replacement, they feel it should be repaired (again).

My husband and I were Maytag fans, and we purchased the fourth set of Maytag w/d in May 2019, along with an extended warranty. Four sets may seem like a lot, but my husband and I have been married for almost 30 years now. Long story short, the washer went haywire, and kept flashing LF. After searching Google for answers, my husband flipped the main breaker, then unplugged the washer overnight. It seemed like that fixed the problem, but it didnt. I called Lowes for help and got hung up on numerous times. The hang-ups were not due to my attitude or choice of words. I kept getting transferred from person to person and put on hold, then the phone would go dead. Eventually, someone actually spoke to me and gave me an 800 Maytag number to call, which resulted in more hang-ups.As before, eventually I got to speak to a real human being who took my info and said that a service tech would contact me. Well, over two weeks later, no one has contacted me. However, due to my post/review on the Maytag website, a Lowes representative did call me and offered me a full refund on the washer, but not a word was mentioned about the dryer that seems to be possessed because it turns on and off at will. My husband and I have a limited income, and we purchased the top-of-the-line Maytag w/d thinking that it would last at least ten or more years.For the money that we spent, the w/d should have at least lasted for the warranty period. As noted before, Maytag was once the Toyota of w/d. You could not purchase a better product. Now, the exact opposite is true. Buyer beware, the most expensive with all of the bells and whistles is not always the best. My husband and I have gone retro with the purchase of a new Speed Queen w/d, which will be delivered this week. Hopefully, it will live up to the reviews that I have read.

We have a Maytag drying center that is almost 6 years old. It never did a good job drying especially for the money we paid, but it just quit on us two weeks ago. We purchased it from TA Appliances in Barrie, Ontario who recommended that we call B&K Appliance repair to fix it. The owner showed up and said he would be back to us in a few days to fix it, as soon as part arrives. He now wont return calls and it has been two weeks, so we called Maytag customer service. We knew we were in trouble when we received a message telling us Due to higher than normal call volume... (so much for the Maytags that never need repair). Anyway, we finally reached an incompetent, ignorant and anti-customer service representative who proceeded to tell us in an extremely, nasally drawl that the part needed to fix our 6 years old dryer is no longer available and the most they could offer as compensation for this on our $1500 plus tax dryer that should last at least 10 years is $120. This is for a dryer we never used more than 5 times a week.

I have a gas dryer from Maytag that works very well. Very easy to use and economical using it with propane. Im pleased with my purchase. Ive had it now for about 8 months. I would recommend buying another one.

Maytag Dryer model # MEDC400BW. I purchased this dryer in March 2015 the fuse went out in August. It is now November and it is out again! I have been buying Maytag since I left home at 18. I am 62 now, so I have been a loyal customer because Maytag was a great product. Not anymore since Whirlpool bought them out! You have to call them to schedule a technician and then it can take anywhere from 1 week to 3 depending on when they get the parts because they have to order them, and nobody else can come out to work on it if it is still under warranty! This is so lame and just not right.

I purchased my Bravo Maytag washer, dryer set May 31, 2015. I spent a little extra because they were suppose to be so reliable and last for MANY years. What a HUGE mistake! The washing machine is rusting. (A friend said, although Maytag’s big promotion was Made in America the inferior metal probably came from China). Buy cheap and to “hell” with the consumer! As many horrible reviews as I have read about the Bravo Series of washers and dryers I am shock there has not been a recall or better yet, a class action lawsuit! Rusting washing machine and have had to replace a part on my dryer...of course all cost came out of my pocket. I will NEVER buy anything Maytag as long as I live. I have told and will continue to tell my friends and family my nightmare Maytag story!!!

The pulley on the dryer vent keeps falling off due to poor design. We had a repairman fix the problem under warranty, but the dryer was purchased in 2010 and this is the third time it has fallen off. I have taken the dryer apart and repaired it myself, as I am quite capable, but I called Maytag Customer Service to see if there is something else I should do or replace. They told me they never heard of the problem and they would recommend a service man repair it, which would cost me money and It wasnt needed. No updated part was recommended, or any other help at all, for that matter. I am very unhappy with the Maytag products and will never buy anything again.

Purchased the Maytag Bravos washer and dryer at Home Depot. Previously had a Maytag set that was 25 plus years old that still ran well but was rusting out due flooding. Figured Maytag had great products. Have had mine for 4 years now and had nothing but trouble. Paid countless service calls, mainly on washer, will work for a short while and then stop again. Cant put more than 4 towels, or 3 pairs of pants or basically anything or the codes start popping up. I am so angry that a product I paid a lot of money for is such a piece of crap. Maytag Company has been no help and I see with all the complaints on this site I am not the only one who feels this way. A class action suit would be great!

We purchased this washer (MHW05500FWD) and dryer set in 09/26/2016 and have had nothing but issues. I have had the repairmen out twice. The first time the washer wasnt rinsing out clothes, when the repairman came out he couldnt find anything. In June of 2017 the same thing happen. Once again the repairman came out. I found out that there was a recall on the part which was on Backordered. Now the matching dryer model MED5500FWD is not drying. This is the worst washer and dryer I have ever own. I will NEVER own another front loader again. Buyer Beware!!!

Would give them 0 Stars if that was an option. Bought a Maytag washer and dryer in Aug 2021. Washer broke Jan 6 2022. Called Maytag/Whirlpool on Jan 6 as it was still under warranty. They only had one service company in our area to work on the washer. I called them and it took them 10 days to come see what is wrong. Ordered parts. Said it would be 2 weeks. We are now 6 weeks into this with no parts. Called customer service and they said they were notified that their service company needed a part and would take another 21 days to resolve. Talked to a supervisor (Demetrius) who sounded like he did NOT want to be in that position. Offered no solution other than we will just have to wait. Threw a 3 month extension for the warranty on which still does not fix the problem. Sad to see this company go down the tubes as it was once a pretty decent business with solid products. No longer.

We have had washer/dryer Bravo Series and been nothing but horror stories. Washer bounces all over room to point hoses come out and flooded my laundry room and foyer and garage. It takes over 1hour 45 minutes to do loads sheets which is 2 sheets 2 pillowcases. The repair man told me that takes that long due to MY sheets are dirty. I have been married 46 years and never heard that ever!!! The dryer is just as bad, takes over hour and half to dry sheets and towels almost 2 hours to dry. DO NOT BUY MAYTAG ANYTHING. The person who said needed hurricane straps to hold washer is something I agree with. Just a horror.

Purchased the very top of the line Maytag Washer and dryer.. Top loader MVWB955FC1 washer. I got this huge washer and dryer because I was tired of paying $20 to have my Cal King comforter laundered. Bad idea.. Yes the comforter fits easily in the drum of the washer but it does not even come close to clean.. Why no agitator..? It leaves soap all over it in addition to the dirty laundry smell.. The dryer is better but it takes at least 3 cycles of taking it out and un-wadding it to get it all the way dry. Now my wife just hangs it on the line.It has been just over 3 years Feb 2017 since I bought both units from HH Gregg.. Now the top of the washer around the soap dispensing orifice has rust bubbling up worse than my 25 year old unit I put by the curb.. Maytag support is no help.. “Sorry rust is normal and it your unit is out of warranty”. I asked If this would have been covered under warranty.. NO!.. Not unless you report it within 30 days.. We only use it once or twice a week.. What terrible service..

I purchased the Maytag Washer & Dryer $1891.14 with Extended Warranties Model numbers: MHW5100DW0 & MED5100DWo. In September 2014 from salesman ** at ABC Warehouse for my Wife as a Wedding Gift. The dryer started malfunctioning toward the end of October, it was randomly flashing a red light indicating Check Lint Screen and when this happens the dryer will lock up not allowing you the OPERATOR to dry your clothing. We ALWAYS check our screen before use and clean after each use, so we found that light to be odd. But anyhow we checked the lint screen and nothing was on it nor was it bent out of shape, everything seemed normal to me & my wife besides the fact we spent $1891.14 on BRAND NEW washer & dryer set thats acting weird. I called ABC Warehouse spoke to **. He said Yeah they do that sometimes, you just gotta MAKE SURE YOU BLOW THOSE THINGS OUT MAN cause they dont like it dirty. I explained to him we keep it clean then he said the screen might be slightly bent. He went on to explain how he seen that happen a lot, I just said uh huh uh huh yeah yeah. So now its like the middle of November and the DRYER Check Lint Screen Light is coming on before every load now and staying on for long periods of time not allowing us to dry our clothing. So I called ** again 2nd week of December this time asking for a new unit. He told me to call the ABC Warehouse Store Warranty Department at 1-800-722-3333. I called and they gave me a number to Master Tech Appliance 1919 Federal Blvd, Ann Arbor, MI 48103 (734) 662-0641. I immediately asked why am I calling technicians instead of new unit when my unit is still under the 1yr factory warranty and in addition too, I have purchased an 5yr extended warranty? They wasnt trying to hear that. So I called Whirlpool 1-800-253-1301 told them the situation and asked for a new unit they said NO and then added by telling me their policies and how many times they can come and attempt to fix my unit before replacing it. I screamed and shouted at them explaining to them that I have spent $1891.14 on a non-working unit for my wife as a wedding gift and I am currently drying my clothes at the local Laundry Mat, they said NO still.So I called Master Tech, they couldnt come out until Feb 3, 2015. My wife took off from work. In the mean time it completely stopped working the first week of January, we had to go to the Laundry Mat every couple days cause we got 4 kids. SMH WOW my wife is pissed, I mean furious. When ** from Master Tech showed up he looked at our unit and said its also not getting hot so he called in to his job they told him to come back and order my parts and to schedule another day to come back. 2 weeks later Master Tech called with the appt. My wife took off from work again but this time they called the day of hours into the day to tell us the parts are on back order and they need to reschedule. My wife was VERY UPSET but we did it anyways. Now remind you are dryer is still out of commission. Were going to the LAUNDRY MAT. Master Tech came 3 days later (my wife took off from work) they literally took our dryer apart (Pics Below) for it to still not work, Master Tech called Whirlpool, Whirlpool told them to order us a NEW SWITCH BOARD. Wow what the hell are you serious? So Master Tech leaves again and orders the SWITCH BOARD. They came 5 days later (My wife took off from work) new switchboard and dryer still not working. Now throughout this whole ordeal Ive been in contact with all 3 companies begging for a new unit and nobody wanted to hear that especially WHIRLPOOL & ABC WAREHOUSE. With Whirlpool knowingly the switchboard didnt fix the issue the first time, they instructed Master Tech back to my home with the same but NEW SWITCHBOARD. LOL WOW I CANT BELIEVE THIS IS HAPPENING TO US. Master Tech schedules yet another day to come by 3-13-2015 & yes my wife took off from work AGAIN just to hear ** say sorry they keep sending me back with the same part and they know its not gonna work but anyhow Im here. He switched out the Switch Board again and still nothing. I called ABC Warehouse and they finally okayed us a new dryer with delivery day of next day, which is today 3-14-2015 and when it arrives THE WHOLE FRONT DOOR IS BENT OFF THE HINGE WOW WOW WOW WOW. Now they say our new will be delivered 3-17-2015 and yes my wife has to take off from work.Updated on April 9, 2015: 3/17/15 ABC Warehouse replaced the 1st broken dryer to only return with another broken dryer, same problem, red check screen light flashing & dryer wont spin. They left here.

I bought this dryer 3 years ago and the fuse has blown three times. The dryer gets really hot and blows a fuse. The entire back of the dryer is clean and free of lint, the hose on the back, and the ventilation pipe running out of the house are completely clear, but the dryer continues breaking down. The Whirlpool NC folks have been out here three times yet it has broken down once again. I should not have to purchase another dryer after only three years!

Our washer/dryer combination (2005 Maytag Neptune MLE2000AZW) has given us nothing but problems. The main problem is the stink from the washer. The unit is no longer usable and we are searching for a top loading unit to fit in the space. I am so angry - how did this piece of junk ever pass Maytags quality control?

We purchased our Maytag 4000 series electric dryer in October 2011 from Best Buy. We did get a very good deal and have had little problems until this am. I moved laundry into the dryer and started it. While I was loading the washer, suddenly I heard a popping sound from the dryer and smelled smoke. Scared me looking into it. Sounds like either our electrical cord or our heating element blew. Coming from an era (born in the 1970s) where appliances should last at least 20 years, I am disappointed with Maytag. I shouldnt have problems at least until this thing is 10 years old. And even then I have higher expectations. So when I replace this, it will be with a better product.

We purchased our washer and dryer set in December of 2010 and had it for about 2 years with the extended warranty...needless to say around 1 1/2 - 2 years the metal around our bleach dispenser started rusting. Maytag considers this cosmetic! I am shocked to think that its cosmetic...on the outside of the washer yes, but on the inside no! It is faulty on Maytags part. I have spoken with Maytag and they tell me if it doesnt happen within the first 30 days there is nothing they can do. So I will tell anyone and everyone what was said to me via Maytags own repairman, Buy cheaper washers as NO ONE offers an extended warranty on the inside of the washer rusting. Whirlpool is the owner of Maytag now so beware of Whirlpool as well. Check out the warranties and make sure you will be covered longer than 30 days for rusting on any washer you intend on purchasing. We learned the hard way and well....we will be buying a cheap washer like the repairman suggested when this one goes out.

We bought a Maytag refrigerator bottom freezer at Home Depot in 2012/10/15. A few months ago, a sheet of ice formed on the bottom of the freezer. Since the warranty expired, I decided to look at the problem. Now, I am a mechanical person who usually can fix just about anything mechanical. I used a hair dryer to defrost the freezer and saw that the drainage hole was frozen over. I took the entire freezer apart, cleaned the drainage channel, the drainage hole and reassembled the freezer. No more than 24 hours later, the drainage hole was covered with 1/4-1/3 thick ice, the drainage hose and the tray were dry, and the bottom of the freezer was coated with ice. This one problem that I could not solve. The design is so poor, the draining water freezes over the hole before it drains. I read some of the consumers complaints and I just want to add that do NOT waste your money on repairmen, or parts from Maytag, the refrigerator is NOT repairable. I will write off my loss of $900 and look for a new refrigerator, but Maytag will never see my money again.

Worst customer service ever. I ordered my washer and dryer from home depot 2 weeks before a possible delivery day. The day before delivery I receive a call that they dont have them and I must wait 1 more week. After 3 phone calls I am promised a credit to my account. A week after delivery I am wondering where my credit I was promised is so I call. Im told the most I can be given is $100. I state that I feel my time is worth more than that. A supervisor is brought in and Im told we will get $150 credit. Then put on hold. She reviews account (why didnt you do this first) and told because we didnt call within 48 hrs of delivery the most they can give us is $75. So I call back very frustrated. Then Im told its our word against theirs that we were offered that?!? What?!? Well I am sure you record conversations and thats total BS. I explained how you cant offer something then take it back. I was told the week before I was getting a credit and my account already notated. No one said, Call within 48 hrs to dispute again to get it. Why would I have to I mean seriously. So after a total of at least 2hrs on the phone before and after delivery I am forced to settle with $75. I feel very unappreciated. I purchased and paid for $1633 worth of appliances that were a week later than promised. Called less than 24 hrs before expected delivery and told they dont even have them. Then told Im getting a credit of $150 to be told sorry now just $75. The lady proceeds to say that she doesnt think it was because of the phone call not being made. What? Are you serious. WELL THAT WAS THE LAME EXCUSE I WAS GIVEN SO I COULD CARE LESS IF IT WASNT THE REAL REASON. THAT JUST MEANS I WAS LIED TO. I promise I will never buy Maytag Whirlpool again. One customer may not mean much to you but good customer service means everything to me.

I purchased a Maytag Centennial washer and dryer on February 4th. It was delivered on the 11th. I am dissatisfied with the performance of the washer. I use the same amount of detergent and fabric softener as I did for my 15-year old Maytag washer, but the wash is not as soft as with the old machine. Also, the wash when finished appears to be a lot wetter. What is wrong? What else can I do?

It had always been my wish to own a Maytag washer and dryer as they were considered THE BEST! Well was I wrong!! I am on the third stainless steel drum, this one has a hole in it, need 4 wheels and pulleys, with service $542.61!!! On the average, I am having a service call every 6 months - last year we were gone for 6 months so no laundry was done, one drum was delivered and was egg-shaped. Maytag has been NO HELP! I am very disappointed with Maytag, their service and product. They HAD an excellent reputation, to me that is everything. Quality, customer service, and their word means nothing to me anymore.

Bought our washer dryer set from Sears in the fall of 2010. I had reservations from the start as the machines were new and the salesman was really pushing this set (on sale), with all the customers, even offering extra discounts on these models only, if customers bought that day. Apparently, they had overstock and were trying to sell them all ASAP. That was a warning to me but my husband convinced me that I was being overly suspicious. We had previously owned Maytag machines for 20 years and loved them. So I agreed. Well, I have been cursing that decision ever since. You have to hand wash/prescrub any stain on clothing, even a little make-up like blush or a little mud. Then you have to put up with an inflexible system that wont allow you manual options regarding spins and temperature or times, etc. Its all programmed. Then you put up with clanging spin cycle as it bangs against the wall. Then you pull out very wrinkled and not always cleaned clothes only to begin the most frustrating dryer experience ever. It has a mind of its own. It can actually keep spinning as it keeps adding dry time and the clothes never dry! God help you if you have a regular load. All your clothes will get stuck on the little ledge. They stay there in a heap as the machine spins and spins.The solution? You have to add a bunch of dry towels to create a lot of mass so that it keeps your laundry from getting stuck on the side. Then you have to repeat this several times cause it doesnt dry well. I will never ever shop at Sears and I will never buy Whirlpool or Maytag again. I am now saving to buy another set.

Im very pleased with both the washer and the dryer. The front-load washer is very efficient with many washing options dependent on items being washed. Spin cycle spins very well which lessens the dry time of the washer.

We purchased a top of the line, state of the art Maytag washer and dryer Neptune. The fill valve failed twice, flooding the first floor and the big storage room below. Thank God we were here! Now the thing halts mid-cycle and wont continue. The repairmen both said the design is messed up and they hate to work on the Neptunes.

This Maytag is about 7 years old now, at least, and is still running strong. The one thing I do miss, though, is the lint collector basket that used to be on GE washers Ive had in the past. Kleenexes have a sneaky way to getting into the laundry and picking out the remnants is a royal pain! The lint basket on the GE would save me that task.

I bought a Maytag washer and dryer, the Neptune series and thought I was getting a top of the line, but now the dryer has quit working and the repairman said it is not worth fixing and it is only about 5 years old. So that is what I am so angry about.

We had 10 year old Kenmore units in the past that were much better and worked faster at both cleaning and drying. We prefer a washer with a agitator and top load. The dryer is preferred to be gas. Both the Maytag washer and dryer we have need constant repairs. Washer for control panel repairs, and dryer for false heat sensing problems. Now they say not to use dryer anti-wrinkle sheets. The washer needs less sheets put in at a time to rinse better. It is a agitator less model.

Really havent had any problems. The Maytag repairman really is lonely. Great quality wash machines and dryers for that matter. I havent had to do anything. Spins well... Very quiet, no complaints. Dryer works well too. Many cycles area to put fabric softener and bleach. It has a extra extraction cycle and many other features.

I attempted over and over just to swap out washing machines. I originally purchased a washer and dryer because of a defect in the top load they delivered. They talked me in to the frontload Neptune instead. Within months I started having daily reactions to mold and to my disgust found out it was from my washing machine. I begged to switch back to the top load I originally ordered and the store would not let me and referred me to Maytag who sent me some tablets and would help me no further. Apparently, the Maytag repairman wasnt lonely anymore if a product had to be manufactured and ready for complaint calls. Well I used the product. I used vinegar and baking soda. I have used hot water and bleach. I have left the door open to dry...It is the most cared for item in our family and the one that makes me ill literally. I cannot afford to buy a different one and would be interested to know if my husband’s declining health issues have anything to do with our mold issue or if it is just depression...Anyway, I was very discouraged to find out that other people in other states had washing machines replaced, but why didnt I? I would be happy if they could buy back my old Maytag that I had prior to this Neptune, I am sure it is making someone very happy somewhere. Why couldnt they have respected my very true complaint? I was not trying to get something for nothing. I paid for something to keep us cleaner and free from allergens and instead wash my clothes in mold and have mold spores leaching into the air in my home. Please help.

I have the Maytag Direct Drive Motor washing & dryer set the is supposed to be “commercial technology.” The washer is supposed to keep wet clothes fresh if they don’t make it to the dryer right away. After 2 years, I disagree in that it offers no better outcome than the much older machine I replaced. Furthermore the dryer cuts off leaving my clothes damp every single time, which I cannot stand. It leaves my clothes to wrinkle terribly and damp to stink if I do not collect them fast. I honestly wish I still had my old set. All the new features simply fail to measure up not to mention over complicate and add expense to repairs.

I purchased a Maytag Bravo Washer and Dryer about 2 years ago; dissatisfied with the products. Washer continues to smell. I clean it all the time with the Affresh tablets. Usually, I have to use 2 bags just to get it not to smell for at least 2 weeks. Now, the glass front dryer is rusting out around the window.

I bought a Maytag MEDB835DW0 s/n M51202974 just about 2 months ago brand new. After less than 2 months it malfunctioned that it would not start. I called the customer service center on Sept 11, 2015 to report my problem. The rep I got was polite and caring and said she would keep on top of this. On Monday I called the customer service again to get an update. They could not locate one of the authorized repair people. The one they found did call me back but I was out of their service area and would not service my dryer. I was told that my problem was turned over to their Maytag/Whirlpool research or resource to find a repair and I would be advised within 7 days. They did give me options, I could take my clothes to a laundromat, which is 17 miles away where I love and they wont pay for my gas. Or I could get my own repair center but they would only cover up to $150 of the repair in labor cost and the part would have to come from Maytag/Whirlpool center. Then I would have to send my invoice to Maytag/Whirlpool for reimbursement. Now a company that cant get me a company to fix my dryer is going to send me my money back to me in a timely manner? I dont think so... Now on Monday after talking to the customer service I got a request to fill out a survey of my experience. I filled it in with details and today they called me from the corporate off in Benton Harbor regarding my survey. Well I finally thought I would have some action on this... Oh no was I wrong, they wanted to know why I filled it that way. I told them that this is a warranty issue. They did not offer me anything new but the same crap that the customer service offered. I now have a dryer less than 2 months old that I paid cash for. I am also 70 years old and on a fixed income as I explained to the Benton Harbor. It is quite evident that they could care less about customer service and their warranty. They do advertise on TV the Maytag repairman. Trust me this person does not exist and now I have $700+ item that I should put out on my lawn, take off the door and use it as a planter... and have a sign on THIS IS MAYTAG. DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THEM. I am so frustrated with this issue I want to scream.

We bought the combo Maytag Bravo 300. The issues with the dryer are that it doesnt heat right, have to run the thing twice, after the first 50 minutes the clothes are still damp and it sounds like its going to take off. We had a service man tell us that it was the fan blower rubbing. Now for the washer. It sounds like a b-52 taking off in spin cycle. I know that its the bearings, bearing kit 80 some dollars plus the bearing tool another 80 some bucks. Dont think Im going to invest in Maytags game. If there is ever a class action lawsuit please put me down or notify me.

The washer does not wash good on the initial wash. I have to wash my clothing twice. Cost and time consuming. The washer is “HE” and the water level is never enough. My clothes be saturated with dirt/lint scum and I never overload my washer. HELP!!!

I bought the Centennial top load washer and the dryer in May 2016 at Lowes. They are junk. I had a secondhand Craigslist Maytag washer that lasted 7 yrs and it was still running just fine when I got rid of it after purchasing this HE junk. The flimsy plastic door handle on the dryer fell off about 6 months ago. The clerk at Lowes assured me that the washer was high capacity & could handle heavy loads. Now I cant wash heavy loads because the agitator is already loose and getting ready to break. I have to wash smaller loads on the hand wash cycle. I cant wash my comforter or my rugs. The real kicker is I cant reach Maytag! I have tried calling to sit on hold for 30 mins to an hour. I tried the live chat during their regular business hours and it was not open. I am so disappointed in these machines. This is the first time I have ever purchased a new washer and dryer and this is what I get. I might as well have set $850 on fire. DO NOT BUY NEW MAYTAG MACHINES. THEY ARE JUNK.

I purchased a dryer model med7500yw not even a year ago and the heating element has failed four times causing a lint fire and my clothes are burned and melted. Maytag only wants to keep servicing the dryer and not refund me my money. I asked the representative who claimed to be a supervisor would she feel safe with the dryer in her home and her rude remark was this is not about me and because the service was done back in November and now its January it will need to be serviced yet again. I am losing time from work and the repair men are rude and ignorant.

We purchased a Neptune washer/dryer combination with pedestals a few years ago. The washer vibrates so violently that I had to block it between the dryer and wall to keep it from walking across the floor during the spin cycle. We had a technician come out, and he stated that the unit just needed to be balanced. The level I used showed the washer balanced in all 4 directions. Then he said I had to balance it with the machine running to stop the vibration. That didnt work either. I had previously installed vibration dampers and the technician told me that makes the vibration worse. When is someone going to file another class action lawsuit against Maytag, as there appears to be thousands of complaints for this same washer?

I purchased a Maytag Dryer Model MEDC200XW1 Electric Dryer in November of 2011. Along with a Maytag Washer from Home Depot. This week the dryer stopped heating for no apparent reason. I use it about three times a week. I tried to speak to Maytag customer service, they were very rude and did not care I spent thousands of dollars in kitchen appliances as well. They would not even cover the service call or diagnostic or half the repair cost. Supervisor Brian @ Maytag Customer Service was rude and unprofessional. I will never buy their product again.

The washer drum fills up with very little water, very little. I can do an entire load of laundry and the stuff on top doesnt ever get wet. Went on Spring Break in Florida and a month later our clothes still smell like the beach. Grill out, and I smell steaks the next time I put on the shirt. Stain your clothes in any way, its there forever unless you hand wash it first.To get it to work at all, each time I have to start the wash cycle (I leave the soap out just to save it for the next start), let the drum fill with water, pause it, get all the clothes wet, then cancel the cycle. After it drains and the machine is off and full of wet clothes, then start it all over again adding soap this time. On the second try, set at deep cycle, it will add enough water to cover the clothes - Im guessing because it senses more clothes because the clothes are now wet from the first, cancelled cycle. During the wash cycle, Ill open the lid and robustly move everything around, almost hand washing. #Handy. The dryer is fine, Im keeping it. The washer, cant return it - been three months of this frustration (kept believing it was me, reset it multiple times, change the settings, tried everything). Im buying a new one and throwing this junk out. $700 lesson.

Purchased a maytag washer last yr. and I feel it is the worst washer I have ever dealt with. I hate that every time I wash somethings they come out with lint all over them and they are the same things I have washed before and never had the problem, plus I hate the cover locks so you cant put water in before you put soap in.

I purchased a Maytag washer and dryer (Bravo series) in February 2011. The top edge of the drum in the washer is fraying. I contacted Maytag about the issue and never heard back. Now my dryer is not drying clothes. It feels like there is heat, but after 1 hour, the clothes are all hot and steamy, but still really wet. Our previous washer and dryer was over 10 years old and had no issues whatsoever, we just decided to upgrade to an HE W/D and now after just 14 months, the dryer doesnt work. They dont make them last anymore.

Maytag Bravos XL MVWB980BGO. To start, I live on an acreage so some problems may be related to being on well water. The most annoying part is the washer doesn’t have a drain & spin without rinse. So, when my well pump started acting up, I had no way to just drain & spin off the load, so I had to try to lift thoroughly soaked clothes and try to dry them...which took about four hours. Another aspect that is a pain is uneven loads. It keeps trying to fill, instead of just stopping & letting me adjust the load myself. Then the damn thing won’t reset. I often have to resort to unplugging the machine and starting over. High efficiency is a joke. I’ve had the machine about five years now and it goes low flow error, even though the flow is fine. I’ve tried running cleaners through the water line and it’s still doing the same thing. The only thing left to try is take the machine out and try and manually go through the lines. For the amount of money we spent on this machine, I am thoroughly disgusted with how it runs. It is the first & last Maytag washer that I will ever buy. Next time, I’m buying as cheap & basic a machine as I can buy. On the upside, the dryer works perfectly.

We had a Maytag washer and dryer for over 32 years, the same washer and dryer. Finally our washer failed. We thought it would be a good idea to stick with Maytag. My husband purchased the Bravos XL Maytag washing machine. It is the worst washing machine ever and I regret the purchase. The washing machine doesnt clean clothes. If you use a powdered soap of any kind it leaves residue all over your clothes due to the fact it doesnt use enough water. It binds everything up. It becomes unbalanced with any larger load. Completely ties your sheets and your pants into knots. Yes literally I pull my clothes out and they are in a knot. The washer started to leak about two months ago after having it for a year-and-a-half. We couldnt locate the leak so we had to call a repairman and it cost us over $240 in parts and labor.

MHW7100DW Maytag Washer Steam & YMED7100DW Maytag Dryer Steam. Both of them are easy to use. They hold lots of clothing as well as bedding and many different settings. They both do an excellent job. Brand and excellent reputation. Had my last Maytag washer & dryer over 25-years and had no problems with either. Thats why I bought Maytag again. Repairs are very costly when you have to pay technicians. Dont like poor quality construction or enamel chipping when you place items on them. Very easy to clean both of them. Practically no lint dust emitted into the room from the dryer. Had no problems with my previous washer & dryer. Thats why I purchased a full size Maytag washer and dryer again.

Things that I have read that are true: Rips clothes/towels/sheets. No real problems with motherboard like some have stated. Bought Maytag Bravos Washer/Dryer in 2009. No real problems with the dryer, HOWEVER, may with the Washer. Had the pump go out in 2/2010 to the tune of $199.20 due to a small object in the pump. The repairman said it would just take a very inexpensive part from Maytag to prevent this. In 6/2012 washer not draining, clogged pump. All right, new to HE Washers, so told to use less detergent than detergent manufacturer recommends. $79.13 to fix clogged drain. Even though being careful with items in pockets, loose buttons, etc. AGAIN had pump go in 1/13, $214.22 (same problem cheaper in 2010, repair inflation). Wed noticed it was loud on the spin cycle (like a rocket going off) and were told at that visit the bearings would need to be replaced, and quoted approximately $280 to repair those. Havent fixed, waiting for something else to go wrong and then decide what to do with it. So in 4 years paying almost the purchase price of the unit (if I fixed bearings also). Crazy. If you bought a house and had to pay 4/5 of the house to repair it in that short of a time, no one would own a house!!!

I bought this new washer and dryer pair at Lowes August 2018. I chose this brand because of the very large wash tub (5.3 cu ft) since I have king size bedding. My previous washer was a front loader, and there were problems with the door seal molding and stinking, and loads had dry spots on them after washing. So within a very short time, I realized I hated this new washer. Very noisy, no agitator, very long cycles. You cannot adjust the time or water levels, and the biggest problem... I CANNOT REACH THE BOTTOM OF THE TUB! I had to steal the grabby toy out of our toy box to pull the wet load out! The laundry comes out all tangled up and horribly wrinkled, even when using the wrinkle-free setting. I line dry a lot of my clothes and now have to iron everything. Never had to do that before. I know Im stuck with this set, but will look forward to the day when it dies and I can buy new ones again.

I bought this Maytag Dryer in May 23, 2015. I had nothing but problems. I had 4 techs come out and say different reasons why it does not work. I had the vent exhaust clean out. Still not working, the one tech said there was not enough clothes for the dryer to sense it wet. I did a huge load, still doesn’t work. The sensor for the vent keeps popping up and it’s cleaned. I have to pull it out and in to get the signal light out. Cant turn on the machine. It still does not work. I tried contacting Lowe’s, since I bought an additional services plan. They said I have to call every thirty days for three months. That means I have to take my time out of work and wait for a tech for three months to get make a complaint and TRY to get new one. I really disappointed with Maytag and Lowe’s. I have a tech coming out this Monday, 11/23/2015 for another services call. I will never buy at Lowe’s or Maytag again. How many times does a certified tech from Maytag have to come out check a brand new dryer?

Maytag Bravos Quiet Series 300 washer/dryer - Purchased this set nearly 3 years ago from Lowes. The washing machine smells like toxic sewage. The Affresh brand cleaner no longer works. All of our towels and many of our clothing items have had to be replaced due to the stench. I surmise this is because it does not use enough water. The clothes get wrinkled badly, twisted, stretched out and torn. The dryer does not fully dry. Always had to run it again to get the items dry. Finally, it started making a horrible, loud, screeching and grinding sound. Neither the washer or dryer was quiet for long. Putting these out on my curb today for scrap metal pickup.

Maytag Bravos XL - I purchased my maytag washer & gas dryer on 5/12/12. In Dec 2012 the heating element went out. I had to wait a week for a repairman to come out on Dec. 20 to fix it. Now for the second time on Dec. 30th, 2014 the heating element has gone out. I called for a repairman to come out. I have to wait until Jan. 12th 2015 for service. I have 8 people in my home including 3 grandchildren. This length of waiting is ridiculous and very inconvenient.

I purchased the washer and dryer approx 6 or 7 years ago. Out of the gate about a year the pump had to be replaced on the washer- 2010. 1/2012 the tub needed to be replaced, 6/2012 the PUMP needed to be replaced again! Then 2013 the dryer need a new board at the tune of $391.00. And today, yes - yet once again I need a new pump! Over $2,000 in repairs on these awful machines. I called Maytag because I thought maybe they would care - not so much. The rep told me that the Bravos models were discontinued (shocker) but that she could give me a discount on a new comparable version at ONLY $600. How nice! I will use these until they fail again - which according to history - that wont take long and then I will NEVER EVER EVER purchase a Maytag product again. We work hard for our money and continually giving it to a company (for parts) for a product that they failed to make a quality product is not going to happen again! DO NOT BUY MAYTAG. Do your research and give your money to companies that care. MAYTAG should be held accountable and a class action suit should be filed. They need to GET IT and they never will if we sit back and let them take advantage of consumers.

I have had it since 2011 and still works as good as it did back then. I love it. Hope it helps people decide when they go shopping for a dryer. I have a dog so I have to keep her clean so I wash a lot of her bedding and she sheds a lot. She also sleeps on the with me so that other bedding that I put for her on my bed between her clothes and mine which I do separate. The dryer works a lot and it is still going strong.

Does not rinse clothes or dispense adequate water. This is the worst washing machine I have ever owned. Dark clothes come out of washer with white dust/soap residue on them. Clothes often come out of washer dry - never touched by water in the wash cycle. The spin cycle knots the clothes into a heap. As for the dryer, pulling out the lint filter leaves lint particles all over the top of the dryer. Poor design.

We ordered a new Bravos washer and dryer at the end of November but due to delivery snafus, we did not have both until the second week of December. Just yesterday, both failed. Part of the drum on the washer ripped off, and the dryer just stopped running an hour later. I am used to getting a long life out of appliances. The old dryer was over 20 years old, and while the old washer was only 17 years old, I thought it would be nice to get a matched set.

We bought new appliances when we moved to our new house last June (2016). Sears recommended the Maytag 600S pair (HE washer and dryer). We have contacted Sears numerous time to have service people out because many times (75%) the washer does not fill with enough water to wet all the clothes and there is a layer of dry clothes at the top when the wash cycle ends.I do not believe that dry clothes get clean because they are near wet clothes in the washer. But Sears insists this is by design. Some service people tell us that the top loading HE washer will be gone soon because of the complaints but we have to struggle on. Sears seems to hope we just get tired and stop calling as their Customer Service policy. I have to dump 1-2 buckets of water into almost every wash that we do. As a side note, the 600S series has a slanted top rather than the traditional flat top. It looks cute but things fall/roll off of it. It would be nice to put things on top of the washer or dryer while doing the laundry but they roll/slide/fall off. The design is not so cute anymore. Actually, really a stupid idea.

We purchased Bravos series Maytag washer and dryer. These are a match pair, the top loader, extra large capacity, very top of the line, $$$$$. The washer has already been replaced after many repairs, but the replacement new Maytag leaves a powdered gray residue on all the clothes because of the small amount of water it puts in the washer tub. Even on the deep water cycle, if I put in a blanket it will come out of the washer half dry where water has never reached it. This washer is the worst I have ever seen and cost top dollar. Maytag says nothing wrong but when I show them the powdered residue on the clothes they refuse to answer. This is the worst engineered washer ever, tangles the clothes terribly, does not clean the clothes and usually forces you to wash them twice to removed the soap residue left on them. I have tried every soap on the market, stacked clothing as Maytag suggested, tried various tricks Maytag has suggested, but nothing stops the grey soap residue. This washer cost almost a $1,000 for just the washer, it is a disaster. I have asked Maytag to refund my money but they refuse. If anyone else has their washer - we need to join in a class action lawsuit to force Whirlpool, maker of Maytag to replace this piece of garbage!!!

Purchased a supposedly top-of-the-line Maytag washer and dryer (9000 Series with Steam and MCT-Maytag Commercial Technology; Washer MHWE900VJ). Just under five years of use and the repairman quotes me just over $1000 parts and labor with the overwhelming majority of that quote being parts. No wonder the Maytag repairman is the loneliest guy in town - its not worth fixing your not-yet-5-year-old machine. It kills me that companies are allowed to advertise and promote the quality and reliability of their products and less than 5 years later, the machine is going to the dump, after having paid a premium for quality. This technology was supposedly comparable to what is used in a commercial setting - not very believable in my opinion. No more Maytag or Whirlpool for me.

We bought our Maytag Bravos washer and dryer 3 years ago. We bought the set from E-Z RENTALS in Crossville, TN. We paid on the set for 2 years. You can only imagine how much we paid. Two weeks after the payoff, the washing machine started acting up. We were led to believe that the set had a 10-year warranty on them. They made sure that we saw the 8-10 sticker on the front of the machine. E-Z Rentals said that we had to pay extra for the warranty. They hung us out to dry. I could have bought a nice car for what we paid for this washing machine. Now its torn up again. This will make the 3rd time that we have had to call a repairman. We are ready to take the washing machine to the dump and buy a Whirlpool. The man at E-Z Rentals said that on average, the Bravos machine lasts for 3 to 4 years. After that, its cheaper to buy a new one. Does anyone know if, in fact, these machines come with any type of warranty? We truly do not have a clue. We would be grateful for any information on the washing machine. This has been a hurtful experience. I feel that we were taken advantage of.

This machine was in best machines of 2019/2020. It has many features. Ive had one day and have multiple concerns, I will be returning the machine. The dryer isnt great either. Had multiple loads not dry. On the washer, there is no interior light so you cant actually see items in washer to judge soap etc. Has a soap disp that is supposed to hold multiple loads, says 8. Ive washed over 8 and the out of soap alert hasnt come on as youd expect, but when I check the dispenser is full of water so who knows! Cant see inside so I have so way of knowing if there is soap that is still going in, should I add more or what? The alert bell is too quiet, cant hear outside of the laundry room. Multiple loads have not spun out well, leaving standing water and clothes too wet for dryer. Ive had to run a drain/spin cycle to get clothes spun out. It is supposed to connect to wifi but that hasnt been successful, plus, not everyone keeps a phone on them 24/4! Need a louder alert. I washed a sm item that threw it off balance. My LG washed a small floor mat with no issues. I do a significant amt of research before a LG purchase and I feel I was lead astray. I am not happy with this washer or dryer. I wanted to buy American made but this is not up to the standard I expected from Maytag.

My washer has always had an odor, and I clean the gasket. It gets mold on the gasket and smells horrible! Now for my dryer, it has 3 baffles inside that helps turn and fluff the clothes, and 2 of mine have broke off. And that results in clothes that look like they have been in the dryer for weeks. And I take them out as soon as they are done drying.

Like others that have submitted a review, about six months ago, our then less than two year old Maytag Bravos XL washer became very loud. If the problem is the main bearing as others have suggested, its not covered under the 10 year warranty. Aside from loud noise, the washer has never performed to my wifes satisfaction. Neither has the Maytag Bravos XL dryer. Regardless of the settings, the dryer doesnt dry the laundry completely. Extremely disappointed with both the washer and dryer which replaced our 15 year old Maytag washer and dryer. We will be replacing the defective Maytags with another brand like LG or Samsung very soon.

We purchase a matching Maytag washer and dryer set and within the first three months our washer began to give us error codes and would not wash our clothes completely on any cycle. It was repaired and we began to have the same issues within the next couple of months. This all happened within the first year. We called customer service about extending our service warranty due to the multiple malfunctions of this washer. We were given the run around and, quite frankly, the attitude that this was not their problem. I WILL NOT BUY ANOTHER MAYTAG PRODUCT! Thank you customer service for ensuring that I will not be a repeat customer!
