Bought a new Bravo washer and gas dryer; Dryer model mgdb980bg. Bought it September 2013. I have had nothing but problems. The dryer would run for 10 minutes then shut off saying check lint trap. Then once it started going again, it close were even damp. It wouldnt sense so it wouldnt start. Finally it got to the point where I couldnt get my dryer working so I phone repair place. The guy came out and set the temperature. Gauges or sensors were off by over 20 degrees as well our entire starter motor was shot. That was over a month ago and we are still waiting for a part that is apparently back ordered. I call today and they said its a faulty dryer and it could take anywhere from a week to two months to get the part. I am requesting a new dryer.

We purchased a Maytag washer/dryer 5500 series in October of 2006. It was working good for the first few years, then gradually started failing on us. The clothes would not be clean or they would be soaked when done. Two days ago, on the board it kept blinking LR. So I checked all measures to make sure that it wasnt the motor or the front door lock. That door lock is a big pain! However, it happened to be both the motor and the bearing at the same. This is definitely not worth spending another $700 on. Goodbye Maytag, hello LG!

I chose Maytag because they received a good rating from Consumer Reports. I liked that they were for extra large loads however now that Ive had them for 12 years I know the large loads are no more than my old Kenmore washer and dryer. The real deal breaker for me is the size of load that you can actually wash. I was hoping I would be able to wash a blanket without worrying about the washer going off balance. My washer and dryer are Maytag although I dont know the model number. They are full size but the extra large load is not extra large. The knob on my washer broke and Maytag wanted $15 for a plastic knob! I found it on eBay for $3. The washer goes off balance too easily.

Our Maytag Atlantis dryer had smoke coming out and almost had our house on fire! Had it not for us double checking the entire house would have burnt down! The dryer is less than 10 years old and already it is tearing apart. I cant risk using it again. Terrible company. I would never buy Maytag products ever again!

My mother always said Maytags were the best but I never bought a washer and dryer until about 5 years ago and both are the worst appliances I have ever owned. The washer has rust all over the bleach container and smells to high heaven and I clean it with Affresh all the time. The dryer doesnt dry well and the washer doesnt wash well. I am trashing both and buying some new ones.

Only three years old and Ive had problem after problem with the washer. As Im typing this I have a full load of clothes in the washer that will not wash, its full of water and wont even drain and spin. PLUS the lid wont unlock. So aggravated.

I have had this washer (top loading washer model MVWX550XW0) almost 2 years. It has ruined some of my clothes. It does not properly wash anything. I have tried every possible solution. I cannot use the HE powder detergent - it will not rinse out. I tried using less than required and double rinse, absolutely did not overload. Even using the HE liquid still did not get clothes clean. I used the number one detergent to the cheaper brand - it makes no difference. I still have to double rinse everything. Small throw rugs will not even get totally wet or clean. I took clothes to the laundromat just to make sure it was the washer. It is this washer. I know I have waited too long to register my complaint, but I have basically thrown away $1200. Also, loads of clothes would take up to 1 & 1/2 to 2 hours to wash. Now that is definitely not energy efficient. I would love for you to pick it up and bring me a standard washer and dryer. I work for a research firm and know when companies really care about their customers. I will be interested to see if the Maytag Man really cares. The only reason I did not check angry is because of my delayed response.

I purchased a washer/dryer, Maytag from Home Depot Nashville. It was delivered and set up. 02/24/17 the date of purchase, delivered 03/07/17. I have tried in every way to get the washer to wash properly, but to no avail. The water level doesnt cover the clothes, it takes 10 to 15 minutes for the wash to begin its cycle. It doesnt spin the clothes dry enough to put into the dryer. The washer makes all kinds of sounds thats drives you nuts while setting up to not wash your clothes clean. I have contacted Maytag on several occasion about this problem, they sent out someone to service the washer. Now, why would a brand new washer need servicing. Somethings wrong. It isnt functioning up to standards and they should give me another washer. Now on 05/18/17 the washer was serviced, I have called them again to do something about this piece of **. I was told that the only thing they could do is come service it again. Why, must this brand new washer be serviced every week. It doesnt make sense... I dont want this machine, I want my money back so I can purchase a machine that will wash my clothes properly. I purchased a secondhand washer and dryer from a used appliance store, it lasted my family 10 complete year. The only reason I dont have it now is because I wanted to upgrade, since I have never had a brand new set. What a disappointment. Everything that looks good from Maytag isnt good. I dont understand why they wont stand behind their product.Somethings got to be done about this. Maytag will not take my money 1,200 and force me to keep this malfunctioning piece of nothing. Im going to Youtube this product so the consumer can see how this product doesnt work properly, therefore they wont waste their hard earned money. I will be contacting the BBB Nashville, and wherever I need to. I will let the consumer know the make and model of this product and where it was purchased from. Maytag I want every penny back. And, should hold you responsible for ever time I have had to go to the wash house because my brand new set wont work, and your company wants to service it every time I try to wash. I purchased this appliance on the strength of the well known name, that was the wrong thing to do.

Maytag washer has increased my water bill; it was supposed to be energy efficient! Also, the washer will not wash a blanket. Sensors will move a large item to one side causing an uneven load which then causes numerous extra fills until stopped manually. I was told to add more items! A blanket barely fits in the tub. I had to invest in lint rollers since the rinse cycle is inefficient. This washing machine is useless. I should have stuck with Kenmore.

We purchased our Maytag Bravo XL in 2012. Over the past year and a half we noticed the inside of the top lid is rusting as well as the bleach dispenser area. I called Maytag about the lid and they said there was nothing they can do and that we could buy a new lid replacement. Really??? My parents had only Maytag in their home for over 50 years with little to no repairs needed ever! We were a family of five back then. Because my parents always bought Maytag products so did we. This is the first time in 40 years that I have ever seen this happen! I was hoping for a recall for these issues but dont find any online. The washer and dryer were not cheap and purchased from a reputable retailer.

Almost two years after purchasing the Maytag Bravo XL, I am fed up. I have the exact same problems as everyone else in these reviews. Soap scum left on dark clothes since day 1. I thought maybe I was doing something wrong. I have read and re-read the manual especially the troubleshooting guide and still have the same thing happen. Its very frustrating. I constantly have to re-rinse clothes because of soap, lint, dirt, etc left on clothes. I wouldnt give away this washer to anyone, I would rather burn it. I am currently looking for a new washer, the last one I had for 11 years was a front loading Whirlpool. I should have stuck with a Whirlpool, I still have the matching dryer no problems at all.

After 2 service calls the repairman found a piece of the mold that should have been removed at the factory causing problems. Now, my dryer made a weird noise, sparks flew and it no longer works. Maytag Neptune Stacked Electric Washer & Dryer. Had to buy a motor for Washer but lasted 12 years before giving problems again; then couldnt find anyone that would service for cheaper than $100 for just coming to your house plus $75 an hour for labor. Thats HIGHER than my billable rate! Rip-off Service & parts charges. Found out it was easier & cheaper to troubleshoot ONLINE myself using FIXYA site and others. Expense for an appliance above what most run ~ 1500 for both units. Plus if it doesnt have or offer a 5-year warranty then something is wrong with the quality! Maytag Neptune Series MLE2000AYW 27 Inch Electric Laundry Center with 3.34 Cu. Ft. Washer Capacity, 4 Wash Cycles and 6.0 Cu. Ft. Dryer Capacity, 3 Dry Cycles: White. Worst part on this model was a WAX MOTOR that they used for the Washer to control the door being closed or open. Next worst DESIGN error was they didnt put a drain hole in the plastic rim seal for the Washer door, that area would build up mold & mildew if you didnt learn to keep Washer door open at all times AFTER a wash. We learned by removing the light bulb! Therefore it was easy for my crew to learn to leave the door open after washing. This model was Energy star certified and had a long life here 12 years. Unfortunately I think they build these things to only last 10 years; then you have to replace them. In years gone by... the 1970s Washing machines and dryers would last 20 years!!

I bought this Maytag MCT washer and dryer set brand new from Lowes October
I bought this Maytag MCT washer and dryer set brand new from Lowes October 31st, 2016. When I washed the first load it made so much noise I thought it was broken. Called Lowes and they said it is just noisier than the older ones. This is the water/load sensing model, supposed to be great. I am usually here by myself, so at most I wash one load of clothes a week. I have a queen size mattress pad in there washing right now. This pad fills up the drum pretty much, I have it on deep water but that only gives me maybe 1/4 of the drum that has water in it. The pad is wet from wicking, NOT from the water covering it. How is this supposed to clean anything when the water is not covering the items? When it spins out, it gets off balance easily. The manual says to not worry about balancing load as you put it in there, but doesnt make any sense to just cram on one side as the water isnt going to float the cloth around to balance. The settings for Bulky does nothing more than the setting for Deep Water, you still do not get enough water to wash your clothes. It also does not do any good to add fabric softener to the machine, as it seems to just take it all out, you cannot smell any fabric softener on your laundry when you are transferring it to the dryer. And the laundry when dry isnt soft like it was with the old machines. I will be 62 in December 2017. My parents always had Maytags, never a problem. This is the 4th set of Maytags I have had. And bought a set for my daughter in 2013 also. And this by far is the worst. Their quality is completely gone now. Nothing but cheap made products that are predestined to fail. Friend across the street said she had looked at this set when she was in market to get a new set. She has an friend who works on appliances and who works for stores selling these models and he told her, they were not worth buying. Wish I had known that. Do not waste your money.

I bought our Maytag HE washer model #MVWC565FW back in July 2019 after having owned a Kenmore scratch and dent washer from Sears for approx 25 years, and in just one month of using it I knew it was a mistake. There are only 2 water levels - deep water (full tub) or practically no water (though there are a number of settings, there is no difference in water level, its just full drum or very very little water). The auto-sensor water level option is a joke - there is barely enough water to wash anything - its like going back hundreds of years to washing and beating your clothes on rocks. Items in the washer become so tangled it sometimes takes a while to detangle before placing in the dryer. Water stops filling the tub when lid is open - I can no longer wash and rinse delicates while the drum is filling. It took 3 calls w/ Customer Service to get an ADDITIONAL lid latch that I can use to trick the machine to thinking the lid is closed - I keep the actual lid open, then stick in the lid latch I bought - take it out when Im done hand rinsing. This also enabled to to view the washing in action - IT DOES NOTHING! Clothes stay in the same place as you placed them in the tub - they dont move, they dont wash - and I bought a washer with an agitator - that is in quotes because it is a misnomer with this brand! The wash cycles ARE SO LONG it takes all day to wash a few loads of laundry. Once you select a setting YOU CANNOT CHANGE IT - the washer empties and stops, then you have to start all over again - ENERGY AND WATER EFFICIENT...REALLY???? What a bunch of you know what! This is the most inflexible piece of junk I have ever had the displeasure of owning. I have to keep jugs of water on hand that I keep filling up to at least have a bit of water. When I called Cust. Svc. at the beginning telling them my experience - the person on the phone had nothing to contribute - they couldnt even tell me what cycles might fit my needs - they told me to go back to Home Depot and ask someone there! WORST APPLIANCE WORST COMPANY.

Bravos XL washing machine is the worst washer I have ever used. IT DOESNT GET THE CLOTHES CLEAN! There is not enough water when filling up, and you cant control it. I put a load of dog blankets in the washer and at the end, they were in the same order as I put them in; they hadnt moved! All the stains were still there and there was soap scum everywhere. Also, while I appreciate a large drum, it is so large that I cant even reach down to get the clothes on the bottom, I have to use a stick to get them up. I am so irritated that I spent $1636 for the washer and dryer (dryer works fine but same trouble with the huge drum). I got mine from Sears online after checking the Consumer Reports which put it in the top 5 washers!!! Dont buy this washer. Waste of money. Will probably just have to throw it out and its brand new.

We bought the combo Maytag Bravo 300. The issues with the dryer are that it doesnt heat right, have to run the thing twice, after the first 50 minutes the clothes are still damp and it sounds like its going to take off. We had a service man tell us that it was the fan blower rubbing. Now for the washer. It sounds like a b-52 taking off in spin cycle. I know that its the bearings, bearing kit 80 some dollars plus the bearing tool another 80 some bucks. Dont think Im going to invest in Maytags game. I purchased my Bravos washer and dryer in about July of 2012. So far I have no complaints about the dryer but I hate the washing machine as do two friends of mine. My husband specifically wanted something energy efficient which is why we didnt purchase the basic traditional style washer weve always used. From the first time I used the washer, I was amazed and disappointed at the noise level. Because the lid is glass, I could observe the water level during each part of the laundry cycle. The water did not cover the laundry in the washer. When I mentioned this to one of my friends, she said that she has to wash some of her clothes twice. How is this energy efficient? I finally figured out that using the heavy duty wash cycle and heavy soil setting usually results in more water but requires an hour to wash and rinse the clothes. The downside is that the heavy duty cycle is too hard on some of my more delicate items so I have to hand wash many more clothes than I did with my old style washer that allowed me to select the water level I wanted. Most recently, when I washed a bulky mattress pad with a few other items, the water level never covered the pad because the load of laundry was so lightweight. At the end of the cycle, parts of the mattress pad were bone dry so I will have to take it to the laundromat if I cannot make the washing machine fill up with water high enough to cover the mattress pad. I dont want to spend the amount of time hand washing so much of my clothing, monitoring the water level in the washing machine and rewashing loads of laundry. After reading many of these comments, it appears that I have many more issues to look forward to. When this washer starts to break down, I will go back to an old style machine and a different brand.

I purchased my Bravos washer and dryer in Sept. 2010. What a mistake! The dryer is okay but the washer is a nightmare! The repairman and I are on a first name basis. The last time he was here, he showed me how to recalibrate my washing machine. It stops working in the wash cycle, fills with water and then sits there. I have to manually drain it and start over. Then it gets confused and fills with water when it is supposed to be spinning and draining (consequently draining my well). I shouldnt have to recalibrate anything in life, much less, a brand new washing machine.

I purchased the Maytag Washer & Dryer $1891.14 with Extended Warranties
I purchased the Maytag Washer & Dryer $1891.14 with Extended Warranties Model numbers: MHW5100DW0 & MED5100DWo. In September 2014 from salesman ** at ABC Warehouse for my Wife as a Wedding Gift. The dryer started malfunctioning toward the end of October, it was randomly flashing a red light indicating Check Lint Screen and when this happens the dryer will lock up not allowing you the OPERATOR to dry your clothing. We ALWAYS check our screen before use and clean after each use, so we found that light to be odd. But anyhow we checked the lint screen and nothing was on it nor was it bent out of shape, everything seemed normal to me & my wife besides the fact we spent $1891.14 on BRAND NEW washer & dryer set thats acting weird. I called ABC Warehouse spoke to **. He said Yeah they do that sometimes, you just gotta MAKE SURE YOU BLOW THOSE THINGS OUT MAN cause they dont like it dirty. I explained to him we keep it clean then he said the screen might be slightly bent. He went on to explain how he seen that happen a lot, I just said uh huh uh huh yeah yeah. So now its like the middle of November and the DRYER Check Lint Screen Light is coming on before every load now and staying on for long periods of time not allowing us to dry our clothing. So I called ** again 2nd week of December this time asking for a new unit. He told me to call the ABC Warehouse Store Warranty Department at 1-800-722-3333. I called and they gave me a number to Master Tech Appliance 1919 Federal Blvd, Ann Arbor, MI 48103 (734) 662-0641. I immediately asked why am I calling technicians instead of new unit when my unit is still under the 1yr factory warranty and in addition too, I have purchased an 5yr extended warranty? They wasnt trying to hear that. So I called Whirlpool 1-800-253-1301 told them the situation and asked for a new unit they said NO and then added by telling me their policies and how many times they can come and attempt to fix my unit before replacing it. I screamed and shouted at them explaining to them that I have spent $1891.14 on a non-working unit for my wife as a wedding gift and I am currently drying my clothes at the local Laundry Mat, they said NO still. So I called Master Tech, they couldnt come out until Feb 3, 2015. My wife took off from work. In the mean time it completely stopped working the first week of January, we had to go to the Laundry Mat every couple days cause we got 4 kids. SMH WOW my wife is pissed, I mean furious. When ** from Master Tech showed up he looked at our unit and said its also not getting hot so he called in to his job they told him to come back and order my parts and to schedule another day to come back. 2 weeks later Master Tech called with the appt. My wife took off from work again but this time they called the day of hours into the day to tell us the parts are on back order and they need to reschedule. My wife was VERY UPSET but we did it anyways. Now remind you are dryer is still out of commission. Were going to the LAUNDRY MAT. Master Tech came 3 days later (my wife took off from work) they literally took our dryer apart (Pics Below) for it to still not work, Master Tech called Whirlpool, Whirlpool told them to order us a NEW SWITCH BOARD. Wow what the hell are you serious? So Master Tech leaves again and orders the SWITCH BOARD. They came 5 days later (My wife took off from work) new switchboard and dryer still not working. Now throughout this whole ordeal Ive been in contact with all 3 companies begging for a new unit and nobody wanted to hear that especially WHIRLPOOL & ABC WAREHOUSE. With Whirlpool knowingly the switchboard didnt fix the issue the first time, they instructed Master Tech back to my home with the same but NEW SWITCHBOARD. LOL WOW I CANT BELIEVE THIS IS HAPPENING TO US. Master Tech schedules yet another day to come by 3-13-2015 & yes my wife took off from work AGAIN just to hear ** say sorry they keep sending me back with the same part and they know its not gonna work but anyhow Im here. He switched out the Switch Board again and still nothing. I called ABC Warehouse and they finally okayed us a new dryer with delivery day of next day, which is today 3-14-2015 and when it arrives THE WHOLE FRONT DOOR IS BENT OFF THE HINGE WOW WOW WOW WOW. Now they say our new will be delivered 3-17-2015 and yes my wife has to take off from work.Updated on April 9, 2015: 3/17/15 ABC Warehouse replaced the 1st broken dryer to only return with another broken dryer, same problem, red check screen light flashing & dryer wont spin. They left here.

This Maytag Centennial with commercial technology washer has ruined a couple of thousand of dollars of clothing, maybe 10 to 12 of my favorite shirts (ripped holes around the top of the pockets), bath towels and sheets and comforters and hand knitted small blankets that can never be replaced. It tore holes in nearly everything that was made out of cotton, I was doing spring cleaning and I normally wash most of my summer clothing, but this time this washing machine destroyed nearly all my summer clothing. This washing machine came with the house I just purchased. (I gave my older Maytag washer and dryer to some needy folks which worked great when I moved here). Disappointed in MAYTAG. Four years ago we upgraded our 20+ year old Maytag washer and dryer to go with a more water efficient model. The old units were working like champs so we upgraded with Maytag assuming it to be equal quality. From the beginning we were not pleased with the washers cleaning ability and now we have electrical problems and a leaking transmission. Our serviceman estimated repairs to be the cost of a new washer. (Im not talking about a Maytag for replacement.) I e-mailed the Maytag company and they basically said Too Bad. Totally disappointed!! I was contacted on 2/6/12 by a Maytag staff telling me that my washer and dryer were on back-order until 2/29/12. This is unacceptable to me. Why does your company not tell its retailers that some items may be back ordered? I would have accepted this if told when I scheduled my original delivery, but being told days later and after taking the day off from work, is poor customer service to me. I am giving very serious consideration to voiding this order and finding a new company to deal with. I do not have the confidence that future issues will be shared or dealt with in a timely manner.

Maytag WFW7590FW & YWED75HEFW 24 Compact Washer and Dryer: These 2 machines are a lemon and the extended warranty plan was completely disappointed. Both needs maintenance before the 1 year warranty ends. The washer was the worst between the pair. The washer cannot spin the laundry dry. The Home Depot extended warranty plan was not the cost. It takes 2 business day for the service call to call us back. Then a schedule date was 2 days later. The service person complained about not getting authorization to do the work without charging us. He did even showed up for the 3rd call. He did nothing to resolve the issue and said the diagnostics showed there was a load issue, which was not true. A very light load still didnt spin dry. The washer not spinning clothing dry issue has been more than 1 month and is still not resolved. The repair person Dean didnt even re-schedule another date after not showing up today. There is a 90 day policy that we cant request for another repair person to attend to the issue. The dryer also made excessive noise which was caused by a broken attachment that established the drum.

Things that I have read that are true: Rips clothes/towels/sheets. No real problems with motherboard like some have stated. Bought Maytag Bravos Washer/Dryer in 2009. No real problems with the dryer, HOWEVER, may with the Washer. Had the pump go out in 2/2010 to the tune of $199.20 due to a small object in the pump. The repairman said it would just take a very inexpensive part from Maytag to prevent this. In 6/2012 washer not draining, clogged pump. All right, new to HE Washers, so told to use less detergent than detergent manufacturer recommends. $79.13 to fix clogged drain. Even though being careful with items in pockets, loose buttons, etc. AGAIN had pump go in 1/13, $214.22 (same problem cheaper in 2010, repair inflation). Wed noticed it was loud on the spin cycle (like a rocket going off) and were told at that visit the bearings would need to be replaced, and quoted approximately $280 to repair those. Havent fixed, waiting for something else to go wrong and then decide what to do with it. So in 4 years paying almost the purchase price of the unit (if I fixed bearings also). Crazy. If you bought a house and had to pay 4/5 of the house to repair it in that short of a time, no one would own a house!!!

Small loads just flop from top to the bottom of the dryer, falling in clumps. I have gone back to having to ironing. Very disturbing!!! I would not recommend this dryer to anyone.

I purchased a Maytag washer-dryer combo in late July 2014. It wasnt until early August that we actually used the washer. It worked fine the first day, but the next day it would no longer fill. After following all of the troubleshooting instructions, I called Maytag to schedule a repair. They said they would locate an authorized tech to make the repair. I called back the next day and was informed that there was no repairman in my area and they would contact a service that contacts local repair techs. A few days later I called back to learn that they still could not locate a repair tech. I live near the New Mexico/Arizona border, and asked if a service tech could travel from Tucson, Arizona and was told that they could not cross state lines and, at that point there was nothing else they could do. They claim that I live in a remote area, but I reside near a major US Interstate (I-10). I will be filing a complaint with the BBB and my states Attorney General. It is now late October and all of my efforts have been ignored. I am totally disgusted with Maytags customer service.

We recently purchased a Maytag Washer/Dryer set, but shortly after it arrived, we realized it was way too big for our needs, so traded it in for a smaller model (Model #MVWB765FC3). After a few washes, it developed a loud clicking noise during the entire wash cycle. Inquired about it at the retailer we purchased it from (showed them video of it) and was told it was not supposed to make that noise. Subsequently the Maytag Repairman paid us a visit and told us theres nothing wrong with the machine and that the retailer should not have told us what they did.#1). The machine did not make that noise initially. It started after a few loads of laundry. #2). The first machine we brought home was the same model (only larger) and that one didnt make that noise. To add insult to injury, the repairman has the audacity to tell my husband, Well, this visit didnt cost you anything. Really?! It cost him 4 hours of pay while he sat home waiting for you! In addition, we were delivered two cosmetically defective dryers that had to be returned. Furthermore, when I was washer/dryer shopping, I sent Maytags Customer Service Dept. an e-mail through their website asking questions about the product. To this day, I have still not received a response. I had a bad experience about 20 years ago with Maytag, but thought Id give them a second chance. I tell you...there will not be a 3rd time.

I purchased a matching set Maytag washer & dryer June 2013. Sept 2013 the drum went out - 4 weeks for that repair. March 2014 the electric panel went out. Took about 10 phone calls with hold waits of 30 to 70 minutes and 4 months, to find out the replacement part is no longer available and the washer is discontinued. To get a new matching set, I had to pay for a new dryer and they will give me a free washer. I have to give both washer and dryer back - I paid for 2 dryers. 6 month later and more phone calls, no washer and no one will return my calls. The dryer I paid for is at the appliance store waiting on the new washer. We consumers have nowhere to go. I have heard so many similar situations. Where are we to go? Who are we to call?

Dryer doesn’t wash all the clothes and the dryer doesn’t dry anything correctly. All, regardless of materials or size of load, comes out damp. Repairman’s excuse was that it’s a learning curve(?) and our dryer vent was the cause (which it wasn’t as we had it checked out and there was nothing in it) and that was it. Very disappointed in the washer and dryer and now the company where we bought them as it seems that we’re stuck with over $2K worth of equipment that doesn’t wash or dry well. We’re awaiting to speak with manager for a replacement of anything not Maytag. Not holding our breath and definitely not a happy customer.

Maytag washer model MVWC416FW1. This is the worst washer ever. I only had this washer for 1 year and 2 months. Oil leaks from the bottom all over my floor. The washer is soooooooo loud you can probably hear it down the street when it is on spin cycle and the start button works when it wants. I called Maytag and they told me if a service man come it may not be covered and I will have to pay out of pocket. The 10 year warranty listed on top of the washer and dryer only covers the parts not the labor. Very disappointed. Its a good thing I purchased an extended warranty but I dont know what will they do. 1 year and may be buying another washer. It DEFINITELY wont be a Maytag. If I could rate this a 0 I would.

After seeing all the bad reviews about Maytag I decided to write my review, we purchased a Maytag washer and dryer 1990 when moving into our new home, and we still have the same set. Now it does not have a motherboard which I feel today is the major problem with most appliances. Get away from the motherboards. Turn the machine on and off when its supposed to, or let it run its Cycles. Dont overfill, because this causes wearing motor parts. The dryer belt wore out on the dryer but that was an easy replacement. Im a woman of 64 and get it myself. Maytag I hope that you get back to the plain ol simple washer and dryer because mine is probably going to wear out which I hope not but I would so love to get the same set I got now.

After everything posted here why would anyone take a chance buying any Whirlpool product including all subsidiaries. I made the mistake of buying a Maytag washer and dryer less than 3 yrs ago. There are only 2 people in the household and we only wash linens, towels and undergarments- the rest goes for dry cleaning. The washer stopped filling with water, similar to what was posted by another customer. Maytag customer service was 2 weeks out. When the service tech arrived he diagnosed the problem as a faulty water value but didn’t have the part- another week. I asked the tech why it takes 2 weeks to get someone out for a service call- he told me that there were 4 techs working the area but 2 quit and they were never replaced. The tech went on to say that he was leaving because of the misdirected grief he gets from customers because “the Whirlpool brand is crap”, it takes to long to get service and usually the cost is more than the appliance is worth- and they take it out on him. That is not hard to understand.Bottom line- IF THE SERVICE TECH IS TELLING YOU THE BRAND IS “CRAP” what else do you need to know. FYI- Maytag repairman quoted a new water valve at $70, labor $150 for a total of $230. I paid $600 for the machine- is this a joke? The exact same part was available on Amazon for $43 and was delivered in a day. With the help of a YouTube video I replaced the part in 10mins. On top of the fact that the appliance is crap, it would have taken 3 weeks to get fixed- Maytag is also screwing customers with overpriced parts that shouldn’t have to be replaced in the first place- fair warning, STAY AWAY.

We purchased the Maytag Bravos XL Washer and Dryer based on the good review
We purchased the Maytag Bravos XL Washer and Dryer based on the good reviews. This has been the worst appliance purchase we have ever made. The washer had to be replaced on the 3rd day after it was installed due to a motherboard issue. The washer constantly has the UL error code so I cannot leave the house if I am going to wash any clothes - I readjust all the clothing in the washer; however, there is no rhyme or reason to the UL code - just made workmanship. We also have had many issues with the dryer as well. Our clothes stopped drying, the clothes had a mildew smell and the lint was wet even though we religiously clean out the lint element. We researched and found this was a common issue. The belt comes off on these dryers; apparently it happens quite often. We fixed it ourselves - twice- by watching a YouTube video. Now our dryer catch (latch) doesnt work and we have to repair that as well.It is obvious from all the complaints that both of these Maytag machines that there should be a class action lawsuit at this point in time. I will NEVER purchase a Maytag or Whirlpool product - EVER. Whenever anyone asks me for a recommendation I tell them to stay FAR FAR away from both Maytag and Whirlpool products since they are unreliable, have terrible workmanship and the company will not do the right thing and fix the issue and provide refunds to those that have purchased these terrible machines. A washer and dryer is a big investment and should last more than a couple of years. I never had issues with my Kenmore or GE products and wish I still had them. DO NOT PURCHASE ANY PRODUCTS MANUFACTURED BY MAYTAG OR WHIRLPOOL. EVER.

I purchased the Legacy series washer and dryer from Home Depot in 2005. For the first 3 years, the washer worked fine. Since then, it has all been downhill. When I use bleach, I have to run an empty load because for whatever reason, the bleach goes through to the next load which has resulted in a number of ruined clothes. The wash cycle leaves clothes dirty and some even come out partially dry?! The rinse cycle does not always work as more times than not, the fabric softener is still in the dispenser cup. The spin cycle is getting worse with each load. Sometimes I reset the spin cycle as many as three times at which point I hand wring the clothes. This creates a strain on the dryer as I have to run it extra long to dry the clothes. I am more disappointed than I can say. I will never purchase anything Maytag again and I will not purchase from the company who makes Maytag products.

My husband bought me a brand new Bravo Maytag washer and dryer from Home Depot in November 2010. In May of 2011, we moved and the dryer hookup was electric instead of gas. My husband knew how much I love the dryer, so he surprised me with another Bravo dryer to match the washer. We put the other dryer in storage and were happy with our purchase until April. In April 2012, the dryer stopped working. It wouldnt dry the clothes at all, and every time we tried to dry, the dryer was filled with wet lint. We were only a week away from moving again, so we waited until we got to the new house. The new house had gas hookups. So, we put the dryer that didnt work in storage and were thankful we didnt get rid of the other dryer. Now, just a few months later, the gas dryer isnt drying and is having the same issues as the electric dryer. How very disappointing! Both dryers are broken now, and it has only been 2 years. Each dryer has gotten about a year of use and then both quit. My husband, I and my two-year-old dont do that much laundry to break 2 dryers. My old GE washer and dryer lasted for years and is still working. We gave them to my husbands aunt who uses them and loves them. I agree someone should start a class action against Maytag. These issues are ridiculous!

I purchased my Maytag Bravos XL washing machine in July 2016. In August 2016 it broke for the first time. I was just passed my 30 day moneyback guarantee, so Sears would not take the washer back. I have had more than 10 service calls on this washer in one year. I live in a rural area, so Maytag told me I was in a non-serviceable area and would have to wait WEEKS until they found a repair person willing to come to me. I only live 40 miles from Richmond VA, where I purchased the washing machine, so imagine my shock when they told me they couldnt fix it because of my location! Ive had countless people in and out of my house, and it still does not work right. You can only do very small loads, so the perk of having an XL machine is none. But even at that, it does not properly clean anything, tangles clothes, and will leave even the cleanest items looking terrible when they come out.Ive had a new circuit board, new transmission, new bearings and gears, new balancing rods, and still, Im left with a machine that does not wash and makes terrible grinding noises. I bought the washer and matching dryer as a set, and even the dryer had to get a new circuit board put in it in the 1st 60 days! After thousands of dollars in repairs on a $1000 washer, Maytag will not admit I have a defective machine and replace it! I just ran a load of laundry and have to call Maytag yet again, because the grinding noise gets louder with every run. Do not waste your money!I would give anything to have the 29 year old set I gave away when I bought this garbage back! I have literally been on the phone with Maytag in tears because it doesnt work properly, Ive had to throw away items that would not come clean because there is not a laundromat available in the town I live in. All I want is to be able to keep my family in clean clothing and linens, doesnt seem like too much to ask.

I have nothing but great reviews for my Maytag experience... In approx 1975 I purchased a Maytag W&D, Model MAH4000 MDE4000, when their advertisement was portraying Maytag repairmen as the loneliest repairmen. Maytag was so dependable that the repairman was NOT needed...and it was true... That Maytag W&D set lasted til approx 1998 when it was upgraded to the Maytag Neptune MAH4000 series... Had a minor problem with mold in the washer, but Sears and Maytag replaced the seal and made another modification... We also dried the seal at the end of the washing day and left the door slightly ajar between uses... Have not again had that problem.I have since given the Neptune set to my daughter and the washer and dryer are still in operation, WORKING SUPERBLY I might add... So I am searching for a good quality Model MAH4000 and MDE4000 to replace my current much older, yet functional Whirlpool... It may need some repairs and about a year ago, I spent $173 to replace the Pump which was clogged by a sock inadvertently stuffed around the top of the drum when too many items were pushed in at one time. I prefer not to throw additional money at this machine! So, if you know of a Quality pre-owned Maytag Neptune washer and dryer in the Lexington KY area, please contact me...

I called the Maytag CEOs office and talked to a machine. Some really nice lady called me back and said she cannot do anything to help me. They have no consumer person to help you and troubleshoot with you. The washer is rusting, it is an inside washer. I live in SE, Texas and they told me it was due to living close to the coast. I purchased a Neptune washer/dryer front loader. All Neptune washers have basic design flaw over which the company should be sued. Since the bulk of the weight is in the front of the horizontal wash-drum, the entire assembly is suspended by a rear mounted bearing allowing the drum to spin. That bearing assembly is woefully under-designed and not able to support the unequally distributed weight that is inherent in any front load design.Since the forces of gravity cause a loading of the rear bearing on the front of the bearing raceway only, the machine is doomed to catastrophic failure of the entire drum system--and they all do this. When the washer goes into spin mode, it sounds like a jet engine taking off and that is a symptom of the bearing design beginning to fail which begins on the first use of the machine. The cost of the drum assembly/bearing and the labor is far more expensive than buying a new machine and therefore, not worth it. Avoid Maytag products at all costs.

They have all the features I need. The only complaint I have about the dryer is that for some reason if the load is small, it takes longer to dry than with a full load. My 20 year old tiny washer with agitator cleaned a million times better in half the time. In fact this washer doesnt even clean your clothes! The reason is because so little water comes in and you cannot manually control the amount of water. Ive tried deep water wash-total joke. Heavy duty wash and extra rinse, still no better. You can wash it 2-3 times with the same poor results. Who wants to put on dirty underwear! The dryer easily takes 2 cycles to get an average size load dry and forget sheets and towels! I purchased a Bravo Washer and Dryer from Home Depot. The Maytag Bravo washer and dryer we purchased from Home Depot did not work from the beginning. Before I called Maytag, I tried for several months to redo the way I was loading the washer and dryer.I tried several different settings however, the clothing keeps coming out smelling like it is still worn. Spots are in the clothing that normally comes out with a washing (with my prior washer). The clothing just does not get cleaned and it gets so tangled that it has ruined some of my clothing. There is clumping of the detergent, even though not a lot has been used.I had the repair company come out three times for both the washer and the dryer. They have checked and no errors codes where found. One gentleman told me again to redo the way I load the washer and the dryer. I have done it so many times, but I tried again and even purchased little dryer balls. It made no difference.I called Maytag again and was told they would have to have another company come in and do a second opinion. The person came and said that he agreed that the washer should be able to wash and the dryer should be working correctly. He recommended that a possible problem with the motherboard for the dryer (which was a possible problem mentioned by visit #2) could be handled, but he had to have it approved. He would check with the company and get back to me. I received a call the next day and a message was left telling me there is nothing he can do with the washer. He was told by Maytag/Whirlpool that I should only fill the tub lightly and not pack it down (I told everyone how I load and I never pack my clothing down). The washer should, when loaded with wet clothing, be only 1/3 to full otherwise it decreases the wash ability dramatically. The problem of the siphoning action for the softener section of the washer should be handled by running boiling water through the tube to loosen up the wax portion of the softener. The possible correction for the dryer exchanging the motherboard (it could be set incorrectly) was turned down by saying that the dryer is running to Maytag/Whirlpool’s satisfaction and nothing else would be done, since there are no error codes for both washer and dryer. My towels have a mildew odor to them when they are used. They have to be washed twice and run through the dryer a long time before I can put them away. I purchased a high capacity washer and dryer and I am told now not to fill it more then 1/2 full. That is not what I was told by the person selling it. Otherwise, I would not have purchased this set at all.

All I can say is what a mistake. Had a front loader that always smelled and had mold around rubber gasket in door. So, wanted a top loader this time after old GE died. Unbelievable, not enough water to clean clothing. Clothing comes out with some dry spots. And the worse thing is washing black items, tiny particles on black pants, shirts, etc. Think is lint not soap but not sure. You have to rub all over the clothing to try and remove. This washer is 8 months old and I have cleaned it with baking soda and vinegar mixture thinking this would help, it doesnt. The spin cycle sounds like a rocket ship taking off. Lots of banging noises during operation also. I have invested a lot of money thinking Maytag is rated high. It is a pretty grey color with glass top. Well I was fooled, not only the saying looks arent everything for people but its true for washing machines. I have gotten multiple mail from co. wanting me to get extended warranty. Think I will, usually dont, cause I think it wont be reliable. Wish I had my washer from the 70s and 80s. Plain old wringer that got things clean. Just put black pants in dryer on very low heat taken out damp cause I dont dry a lot of my clothing. This seems to have helped to remove stains (soap)/ lint. but, talk about wrinkles, oh boy, this machine has that spin cycle going 100 miles a minute. And if you pick a lower spin speed things come out wet. I actually can say I hate this Maytag Bravo. Things dont come out clean, wrinkles beyond control, very loud. Please folks check out your sites on the internet before buying Maytag.

I purchased my Maytag Bravos washing machine set in July 2007. In May 2011, I had to have the shocks and another part relating to running a balanced load replaced. I spent about $500 on those repairs. The parts to replace the shocks took more than 6 weeks to arrive! Roughly one year later, the plastic water pump has broken and needs replacing - another $100 part plus labor. I always believed Maytag was a reputable company, but I am very sad at the quality of the product I purchased based on their reputation. They should be ashamed! To date, the dryer has been good - knock on wood!

Purchased a Maytag washer and dryer 6 years ago and everything was fine until 3 weeks ago when the washer stopped spinning. We knew we were out of the 1 year warranty and contacted a repair service, who told us the bearing was no good. Contacted Maytag who offered in goodwill to pay for the parts and we would pay for the labor. A different repair person came in and told us the washer has no bearings but a transmission, which went bad. They ordered the transmission and today the repair person was in to install it. He installed the transmission, but while trying to take out the old one he dented the drum. According to my husband the repair person banged so hard that it sounded as if something could have been damaged, sure enough it was the drum. Contacted Maytag to see if anything can be done as now we still have no washer, and the repair person was their selection not ours. All we got from Maytag was they are not responsible and there is not much more they can do. I cannot believe the last Maytag product we had lasted over 20 years and this one is less than 6 years with problems. Will not purchase another of their products again.

Our $1,000.00 Maytag Bravos is only 4 years old (also bought the matching dryer at the same time). We have had to purchase two new motherboards for the washer and now the uL, during the spin cycle, comes on and my clothes will not spin out. I have followed the manuals directions to unplug, wait, replug, redistribute, etc... all to NO avail. So very disappointed with this machine. Bought it because it was a Maytag, but will never buy another :( I had this machine repaired with major amount of parts and expense (due to the uL problem), BUT the uL code still keeps coming up. I am one really unhappy customer.

I bought the Maytag Bravo XL washer and dryer several years ago after reading many reviews. I like the glass top of the washing machine and the front door glass on the dryer. The dryer is fine its the washing machine that does not perform like the old machines. Whoever came up with the bright idea of saving water by cutting down the volume in your machine to about 6 inches for a good size load probably have never used a washing machine in their life. It does not get your clothes clean and does not get the soap out of a clothing to my satisfaction. Who made this suggestion? Could it be the same branch of government that made everybody use those spiral light bulbs years ago? The fluorescence that give off loads of EMF?

This is just a heads up to anyone thinking about purchasing the front loading Maytag Neptune washer and dryer. We spent $1900.00 on these machines and have had nothing but trouble from them. I will never purchase a Maytag or now, Whirlpool appliance again. As to the rating above, if I could post negative 150 stars I would. I have spent as much in repairs as the new dryer cost.

The washer and dryer were purchased together as a set 4 years ago in 2010. There have been times where I actually had clothes come from the washer completely and partially dry due to lack of water inside the washer! It fills based on how many clothes are in the washer or capacity that it senses. I have had so many clothes dry washed and torn up due to its use! If you set the washer to the wrinkle control position it does not go through the last rinse and spin cycle, you must reset it to the rinse, drain, spin cycle again in order to finish processing that load.It has already thrown its belt 2 times! Which my husband had to fix since we could not get in touch with anyone at Maytag who knew what we were talking about! If change gets stuck inside the washer bin in the little groove in the tank it is very difficult to get out, Im sure everyone has washed a pair of pants with the change still in the pockets, yes I know this is user error but if you dont know the change is in the little grooves because you cant see them, it stops the washer! So be sure to search this every time you do laundry! The dryer has a mind of its own! Sometimes it will finish drying your clothes, sometimes it wont finish the time set! Theres no reason just doesnt finish! There is so many reasons I will never purchase this brand again. Ive run out of room and patience. My clothes look like Im homeless!

I purchased the Maytag Atlantis Washer and dryer in 2004. I had the washer transmission replaced in 2006, I believe. For about a year now, the washer makes an awful screeching noise. I am not sure if its towards the end of the spin cycle or the rinse cycle, or both. In addition (and over the last 3-4 years), the dial sticks or stalls every delicate cycle. It will stop during the initial agitating and all you can hear is a ticking noise, in which you then have to manually give the dial a slight turn for the cycle to continue. It does it once on the light delicate and twice on the normal delicate. It really is a shame that Maytag is not acknowledging all of these problems as it is not feasible for most people to have a spare $1500 kicking around for a new washer and dryer every time they unfortunately buy a lemon. My previous washer and dryer were 25 years old and still working perfectly when I decided to part with them because they were fairly small. I dont even ever recall having any issues with either one of them in the whole 25 years that I had them. To see all of these complaints makes me more irritated with my appliances and my selection!

I purchased a Maytag Bravos Quiet Series washer and dryer in 2009. The repair people have been to my house 7 times. The dryer had a useless part on the drum that made a banging noise while running. The washer keeps getting coins and small undergarments stuck in the motor. Every now and then, one of us leaves a coin in the pocket by mistake. I did purchase the extended warranty on the set. The repairperson that comes to my house is great. I would, however, not want to have to keep leaving work to meet repairmen. The machines are not quiet. If you need quiet from your appliances, this is not the set for you. If you do not clean the washer with Affresh or Clorox product, your clothes and your room smells. The clothes are always so tangled after washing; they tend to wear out quickly. Im not sure about this high efficiency washer. I wish I had just purchased a regular machine.

We purchased a new Maytag Bravos Washer and Dryer in April 2012. The dryer has been nothing but a piece of trash. It has been serviced 4 times for the same problem. The first time, a thermo element failed and dryer wouldnt heat. Second time, thermo element failed and was replaced. Third time, thermo element was replaced and flame scoop was replaced. Service man called the factory to find out what could be causing this problem. Factory service recommended replacing gas valve. The valve was ordered and replaced. A couple weeks later, the thermo element has failed again, and of course, the failure happens on a weekend. We are a retired couple, so we might only have a couple loads of clothes per week. All of the repairs have been covered under the first year warranty. When you spend $900 for a dryer, you would think it will work for at least the first year!

We purchased our Maytag Elite dryer almost a year ago. Began to have problems with it several weeks ago. We first tried to correct the problem through the store where we purchased it. After three failed service repair visits the technician recommended we call Maytag directly. We did. Another service appointment was set up. The repair guy determined there was nothing wrong with our dryer (?? It wasnt drying on one of the heat settings!!) but said he would come back and replace the front sensors anyway. After he left I called Maytag again. Explained why I was frustrated. I was told that since the repair guy said nothing was wrong with the dryer there was nothing further they could do for me. Further attempts at repair had to be at my expense. I was incredulous to say the least. The dryer doesnt function properly on the normal heat setting, but because the repair guy cant find the cause I am therefore just out of luck?I will never, ever purchase another Maytag product. I am shocked that they will not stand behind a product that is still under warranty. After only 11 months of use I am stuck with a dryer that will only dry on high heat?! How can a single service visit by their repair guy (whom is on their payroll) be the final say? No second opinion? Is he infallible? Simply unbelievable.

We purchased a new Maytag Bravos X washer and dryer from Lowes in June of 2013. After a year and a half of normal use (2 people in the household) the washer needs a new gearbox bearing at a repair cost of $529.00. I called Maytag and spoke to a customer service representative who informed me that there was nothing they could do about it because it was past the one year warranty. I asked to speak with a supervisor who told me they would offer me a 50% discount on the bearing but would not pay for the repair work (the cost of the bearing is approximately $25).Needless to say I will not be having the washer repaired. We will be purchasing a new washer and it WILL NOT be a Maytag, Whirlpool or any other brand made by that company. Its just appalling to think a company like Maytag can scam customers the way they do by producing appliances that are of such poor quality and then offer third rate customer service on top of it. Maytags answer to the whole issue is selling everyone an extended warranty which we all know is as bogus as the companys integrity!!!

Now it is out of warranty and it is leaking again. Was just fixed a little over a year ago. I am now seeing a lot of rust around the top of the washer. It has just about covered the one port where you put the bleach in. The seam around the top in the crease is full of rust. My dryer is fine, bought them both at the same time. Maytag Bravos XL - This is the worst product I have ever owned! I purchased a Maytag because when my husband and I were married 29 years ago we bought a Maytag washer and dryer and still using the dryer. However we lost the washer and had to replace it. Worst mistake ever!!! Within a year a circuit board went out (they replaced but I was advised I needed an extended warranty which I do have) and was told by the technician that this model was junk! I called Maytag and expressed my great disappointment and all I was told is we document customers input. I then ask ok so what are you going to do about it? And I did not get a response. I asked for a different model but was declined. As you can see it is rusting at only a 1.5 years old and tearing up my clothes. It destroyed a doily that belonged to my late mother. Maytag used to have integrity in their product but not anymore. Not only all of these issues but I have to wash clothes twice and they still are not clean. Plus they have a dirt film on them and yes I used THE detergent!!

We purchased a Neptune washer/dryer combination with pedestals a few years ago. The washer vibrates so violently that I had to block it between the dryer and wall to keep it from walking across the floor during the spin cycle. We had a technician come out, and he stated that the unit just needed to be balanced. The level I used showed the washer balanced in all 4 directions. Then he said I had to balance it with the machine running to stop the vibration. That didnt work either. I had previously installed vibration dampers and the technician told me that makes the vibration worse. When is someone going to file another class action lawsuit against Maytag, as there appears to be thousands of complaints for this same washer?

We purchased the washer and dryer set from Lowes about 5 years ago, and purchased the extended warranty fortunately for us. We had good luck with the washer for about 6 months, then we had to call problem service out because the washer filled with water but wouldnt do anything else. It took several days for the service people to come out and when they did, they had to order parts to do the repair, so we did not have a washer for a few days or a week. They got the washer fixed and everything was good for a few months, then our dryer quit working. We were told that the tub of the dryer had come off, so they had to order another one. So we were again without a dryer. Once they got the parts in the repair company that was sent out to fix our dryer, did not fix the dryer correctly so we had to call Lowes repair service to send someone out again. We have owned this set for over 4 years and once again our dyer has gone out. During all of this time, I and my Brother had to leave our job in order to be home and meet the maintenance people to fix both washer and dryer. I would not recommend this set to anyone, this is one of the worst sets that I have owned. I thought Maytag was a brand that you never had problems with, but we have had nothing but problems with this set.

I will replace as soon as I have the means to do so. DO NOT PURCHASE the Maytag Bravos XL appliances. The engineers that designed them should be fired! Clothes are so badly tangled during the wash cycle that it is hard to describe the wrinkled mess that has to go into the dryer.Dryer issues: Very loud. Very wobbly and unstable, and yes, it has been leveled 3 times. Bed linens have to be separated at least 3 times during the drying cycles because they twist and wad up into big, wet knots of cloth. Purchased a new Maytag washer (MAH5500BWW) and matching dryer along with the pedestal that they sit on in late November of 2003. Spent well over $1900.00 for everything including the delivery charge. I noticed the build up of mold/mildew inside the washer starting in early 2005 but cleaned it every week or so and it seemed to go away. As time went along the mold/mildew smell got stronger even after each cleaning that I did with bleach. Nothing seemed to help.It wasnt until 3 days ago when I had my dryer vent cleaned by a professional company that the technician looked over at the washer and said You know that washer was recalled and that there was a class action lawsuit against Maytag about mold/mildew issues involving that model. He opened up the washer door and looked and was shocked. He told me that he himself had the same Maytag model washer and was notified by Maytag years ago about the class action lawsuit. He told me that he had received what he called a buy back check from Maytag. I wondered why I had not been notified since I had purchased both units new and registered both with Maytag after my purchase.I decided to do a search for my washer model number and looked for mold/mildew issues and was shocked to find thousands of complaints involving this issue with this model of washer. I then called Maytag/Whirlpool and this is where the fun begins. I called and explained to the customer service rep at Maytag/Whirlpool what the problem was with my washer and asked her why I was never notified of any recall or class action lawsuit involving my washer. After thinking for a minute or two she says that she is unaware of any problems with my model of washer and asked me to recheck my model number. I do this and again she says that she is unaware of any problems associated with my washer. I explain to her about the thousands of complaints on the internet about this mold/mildew problem and she then says I shouldnt believe everything I read on the internet. At this point I ask to speak to her supervisor which she says she transfers me to and the fun continues. The supervisor then tells me that the customer service rep whom I was speaking with is new and doesnt remember the issues with my model of Maytag washer but she herself does remember the issue of mold/mildew build up inside the washer. I ask her why wouldnt this issue of mold/mildew in this washer be in your system for this rep to be able to refer to? She then says that since this issue was so long ago its not in their system anymore. Huh???She asks me if I was part of the class action lawsuit involving this washer and I explain to her that I was never notified of any such lawsuit so I couldnt have been part of it. She then says that Maytag has since settled this issue long ago and since I missed signing up for the class action lawsuit I was just out of luck. Somehow its now my fault for them not notifying me about the class action lawsuit years ago!She then offers to send out a repair person to look at my washer and to look at the mold/mildew problem. I ask her if the service call was free and she snickered and said no, why would it be free? I tell her I thought it should be free because I paid nearly $2000.00 for these machines because I was looking to get the top of the line machines. Now I have a mold/mildew infested Maytag washer that smells and looks so bad its a assumed health risk. She again tells me that the service call will not be free and asks if I want her to schedule it now. I quickly decline! She then tries explain to me in some odd fashion that I should be happy that I got 10 years of service from my washer/dryer and hoped that I would continue to purchase Maytag. What??? Are you crazy woman!? Now its me who is laughing at this point. I almost say some very bad things to her but better judgment takes hold and I just hang up. Now you have heard my story and Im now looking for another washer/dryer so I can remove this health hazard from my home. I will never ever buy anything that has a Maytag/Whirlpool named attached to it.

Now, its less than six months later and they are doing the same thing, so the tubs have to be replaced again. What kind of equipment are you making? This is just an outrage. You are scamming people to buy your products by your so called advertising and rep. Well, this is false advertising on your part. I will never buy another Maytag anything or Whirlpool either. I also see there are a lot of others having the same thing being done to them. I would be ashamed to even have these products to sell. Shame on you. Scammer.

We purchased our Maytag 4000 series washer and dryer (Model: MHWE450) in December 2010 from Best Buy. For the first six months or so, we were very happy. We started to notice that the washer was getting a little louder by the month. I checked the level multiple times to be sure that wasnt the issue. Assuming it was just part of how the washer broke in, I just let it go - a bad move! Fourteen months after I purchased the set, the washer flooded all over the floor. I opened the washer and pieces of plastic were all over our clothes. After further inspection, the drain was completely full of the same plastic. I cleaned it all up only to find that the washer tub was so loose that it was banging side to side.I called Maytag to ask for help or suggestions. They basically told me that I was out of warranty and kind of out of luck. I responded that we do a total of four to five loads of clothes per week and that there was no reason that this commercial series washer should have failed after 14 months. They offered a one-time service plus extended service contract. Feeling that I had no choice, I spent almost $400 assuming that I had a fixed washer and a year extra warranty. I was told that someone would be out to look at the washer in three days. Finally, after me pressing and pressing, someone showed up a week later. He put a list together of all of the items that were needed to repair the washer. Two days later, Maytag service calls and says that the washer will be too expensive to repair and they would be giving me a reimbursement for buying a new one. They didnt have an exact amount yet. Two more days later, they finally called me with an offer of around $550 ($250 less than what I paid) based on their research of what I should be able to find one for and directed me to the website. One big catch though - it didnt include the $125 shipping charge. When I called to request for it to be paid as well, they declined with basically a “take it or leave” type of attitude. Not knowing what to do, I called every local appliance store until I found someone that had two in stock. When I went to look at them, I was told that both of the ones that they had were rebuilt because that model Maytag washer had a major issue with the bearing and basically needed to be replaced on all of them.Luckily, I was able to buy the washer and a five-year extended service contract for around $690. So in the end, I paid $799 for the new washer, $400 for a warranty, another $100 to replace the washer, and close to $100 in laundry mat costs for three weeks. I promised everyone that I spoke to with Maytag that I would write a review to share my story and thats why I wrote this. The repair plus warranty is a joke. I like this washer/dryer but will never buy another Maytag appliance again. Next time, I will buy extended service contract from the start.

1. can not get enough water in the Maytag machine to cover the clothes. 2. All of the clothes come out twisted. 3. After watching the machine wash the clothes I notice that agitator did not move all of the clothes down into the water, and that was probably because there was not enough water in the tub. 4. The machine gets out of balance easily and at that time the machine door is locked and you need to push the pause button and wait for it to unlock the door. 5. Its louder than my old Kenmore washer that we have had for 15 years.6. The Maytag dryer does not dry as fast as my old Kenmore dryer that we have had for 15 years.Bottom line is I would not buy another Maytag product. Do your homework.

We had 10 year old Kenmore units in the past that were much better and worked faster at both cleaning and drying. We prefer a washer with a agitator and top load. The dryer is preferred to be gas. Both the Maytag washer and dryer we have need constant repairs. Washer for control panel repairs, and dryer for false heat sensing problems. Now they say not to use dryer anti-wrinkle sheets. The washer needs less sheets put in at a time to rinse better. It is a agitator less model.

I purchased a Maytag Bravo Washer and Dryer about 2 years ago; dissatisfied with the products. Washer continues to smell. I clean it all the time with the Affresh tablets. Usually, I have to use 2 bags just to get it not to smell for at least 2 weeks. Now, the glass front dryer is rusting out around the window.

We purchased this washer (MHW05500FWD) and dryer set in 09/26/2016 and have had nothing but issues. I have had the repairmen out twice. The first time the washer wasnt rinsing out clothes, when the repairman came out he couldnt find anything. In June of 2017 the same thing happen. Once again the repairman came out. I found out that there was a recall on the part which was on Backordered. Now the matching dryer model MED5500FWD is not drying. This is the worst washer and dryer I have ever own. I will NEVER own another front loader again. Buyer Beware!!!

You cannot go wrong with Maytag, even if there were issues they are reliable in repair, and parts are available so you arent forced to purchase new like some technology. I have been pleased with the front load washer dryer since 1998.
