I purchased a new Maytag from Home Depot. It was delivered and installed by them on 7/20/12. Today is 9/18/12. It is less than 2 months old and the tub is starting to shred around the upper rim. I called to get it repaired. What a nightmare. First I tried to understand a Filipino woman through a bad connection. She advised me to call a different customer service number, 1-800-688-9900. I talked to Crystal. She called up information on me using my phone number. She asked for the serial number as she had the model number available from the online registration I completed on 7/20/12. I told her I do not have that and asked where it was located. I also told her that I was unable to get it at this time as I am handicapped. She advised me that I had to show my repairman the receipt or I would have to pay a $60 service charge. I get nervous about throwing good money after bad. So I then asked why. If the serial number is so important, why is it not a required info when you register online? She had no answer. I asked to speak to her supervisor. I waited 4 minutes. Enna finally came on the line. She gave conflicting info about my online registration. She said I was not registered online (if not, how did Crystal have all my other info including my model number? Why did Crystal tell me I had registered without the serial number?). Enna told me that the repairman could key in the serial number when he gets to my house and if my washer was under warranty, I would not be charged. Again I asked why, if the serial number is so critical to the process and with all the info they seem to have on me (name, address, phone number, model number, place of purchase, date of delivery, etc.), why is the location of this very critical number is not in the owners manual? Why do they allow you to register without it online and why dont they track sales and delivery by serial number? She was unable to address these issues. I asked to speak to her supervisor. She told me she would give me her supervisors name and number (Kim, **) but she would not give me a last name or contact information. She told me that she was the highest level that I was allowed to speak with.Bottom line, my Maytag is falling apart, getting through the red tape to get it fixed under warranty is silly. Maytag ignores its own concept of tracking by serial number and does not support the use of serial number by telling you where it is located on an appliance or requiring it to register online. Calling customer service is a joke! I was mad when my new $800 washer started to fall apart. Now I am just sad with the way we allow manufacturers to treat us. Mad about the way we allow them to operate in the United States. They create junk or junk parts overseas, products fall apart over here, calls for repair get routed around the world, and then they create more red tape and call it customer service. I made one bad choice. Hopefully, you are reading this and can avoid your own.

We purchased a Maytag washer model MVWC400XWO almost 2 years ago and it has problems with the bearings and the whole computer board is defective. I was told to buy the extended warranty for $350, which we did. As of today, we were told by extended warranty they are refunding our money because there are so many things wrong with this washer, including the whole computer board, that it would cost them too much to fix or replace it. Im in complete shock. We paid well over $500 and are still making payments on it. I spent the day reading hundreds of reviews from people with these exact same problems and Maytag is aware of it and will not help. They should not be selling these anymore. Im completely sick to my stomach. I cant afford another washer and when I called Maytag, they said it was past the year and we are out of luck. I cant believe this can happen to people and they get away with it. A washer should last longer than 2 yrs.There are hundreds of people going through this with Maytag and no one will help.

My dishwasher like many others have mentioned is experiencing the same control panel issues. When I set it to Wash, it spontaneously goes to Rinse Only. I am unsure exactly the age, but given the number of complaints Ive read, with the same problem, it seems as though, there was a flaw many years ago in design and regardless of issues hasnt been resolved with the newer models either. I realize appliances dont last forever, but Maytag was always known for the lonely repairmen and Id hoped the brand would continue to live up to its advertising, despite being purchased by Whirlpool.

Our current dishwasher was already installed when we purchased this house. It is adequate, however, it does not do a great job with caked-on food. This means that the worst dishes need to be pre-cleaned.

I do not recommend this product. I purchased them 2 years ago. Within one month, the drum stopped working on the dryer. This was covered under warranty. In the last month, though, I have noticed that there are blue stains on the new drum. I do not leave clothes in the dryer wet. Last week, the washer stopped agitating or cleaning clothes even though the cycle would still run. I called for a service call and paid $82 for this. I found out the transmission was not working. This is not covered under the warranty. The warranty for entire machine is only 1 year. The 2-10 year warranty only covers the drive motor and wash basket. I cannot understand why a transmission is not covered. I feel like they are not standing behind their product. Finally, after a lot of talking, I did get Maytag to agree to cover the cost of the transmission part; but I am still obligated to pay $150 for labor. Why are products not standing up to use as in the past? I am very disappointed with these products.

This washing machine has been very reliable.No repairs needed yet. This machine has stood the test of time. We use it at least.. four times a week. Light and heavy loads. It fits in our washroom and budget. Just perfect. I would recommend this brand to everyone.

I have now owned my highly efficient and low-cost to operate washing machine for 6 years. It is a top loader and uses HC detergents.This means the washer needs minimal soap to clean the clothes. I especially appreciate the different types of loads such as deep cleaning or regular cleaning. The washer has sensors that evaluate the size of the load and thus only utilize the amount of water necessary. I really like the quietness and being able to get the very best wash because the washer does exactly what it needs to do. It has more than been the appliance that I had hoped for. Love it! It maintains itself.

First off, everyone seeing this should be fuming as I am because we are mostly in the same boat with these control panel issues. Mine is Maytag model MDB7749SBM3 about 575.00. A little bit cheaper than most of you because I purchased at the online and had a rebate. About a couple months after the warranty expired, we started having weird light issues with the control panel where are one light would pop up when you didnt hit it or other lights would pop up when you hit something else. We kept dealing with it thinking that it would dry out and resolve itself. Lo and behold, just like it appears to be tens of thousands perhaps hundreds of thousands of machines, it quit. I read this consumer affairs post after it quit and now I know why it did. I opened up the control panel and sure enough, the little ribbon that connects all the electrical connections had brown on the back like it was burnt through. I was able to find a special 1 800 number that Whirlpool has set up because they have purchased Maytag and the woman I spoke with said they would send a technician out and that I was responsible for the diagnostic fee. I was born but it wasnt yesterday. I immediately said to the woman, Absolutely unacceptable. I am NOT paying for anything, very politely highlighting the fact that I know they settled a class action lawsuit in California regarding a control panel issue and there are hundreds maybe thousands of complaints on consumer affairs.com. The woman place me on hold, I am assuming to speak with her supervisor and then let me know that they would pay for the diagnostic fee. She said a repair date for me for about a week and a half later. The repairman had a good day because the dishwasher was already disassembled for him and he proceeded to take pictures and call Maytag. Maytag told him that I was responsible for the installation cost and service fee which according to the technician is about a hundred bucks. I told the technician that is fine but it will not be fine when I call Maytag back. I have not spoken to Maytag about the hundred dollars needs to file a claim for a new dishwasher and associated damages. I have not spoken to Maytag about the hundred dollars but I am only on this to let you know that every single one of us needs to file a claim for a new dishwasher in associated damages in small claims court. I plan on filing a claim for approximately $700 for a new dishwasher and damages. In my opinion, I feel like we should all do this, otherwise big corporations like this will continue to shovel garbage into the stores left and right.Have a good day and good luck with your court case hopefully. Maytag Centennial - It came with the house. I think its a line made special for rent-to-own kind of places. I cannot stand the washer. It will not take fabric softener unless its in the ball and if you use extra rinse you dont get to use fab softener at all. (I like liquid fab softener on some things). Why it doesnt have a dispenser is beyond me. And the bleach dispenser is poorly designed, too close to the tub and splashes every time. Ive had this six months and would get rid of it in a heartbeat if I could afford to. Plus it snags towels. The washer is crap. And its a Maytag. I wish it would break so I could justify buying one that has some decent features like fab soft dispenser, bleach dispenser that doesnt splash, drum that doesnt snag.

The bearings and motor went out in less than 3 years. The warranty good - the dealer I purchased from Siano Appliance gave me credit to purchase another Maytag washer - which I had to purchase an additional warranty for $320. The new Maytag is less than 5 months old - the motor has been replaced and waiting on a tech now to fix it. It would not come on. SO in warranties I have paid over $640 and am still having issues with the new washer. The first time I purchased a warranty for 10 year - when the machine was replaced I had to purchase another warranty for that machine - now if I have to replaced this one that will be an additional $320. IS this legal?

Top rack fell off with load of dishes. Clips that hold rack to slides broke. Week for repairman, two days for parts, week for repairman. No repairman, call parts be in on 7/28 2014, repairman on 7/31/2014. ONLY HAD DISHER FOR A WEEK, NOW IT IS BROKE. WHAT A RIPOFF.

My Maytag over the range microwave has given me nothing but troubles since my purchase. The turntable off feature never worked, and now the side control panel is barely hanging on because of broken plastic connectors. The handle is now broken in half. I will never purchase another Maytag product. Buyer beware.

The functionality of this machine is so awful. I had the dealer replace it only to find that the awful noises that the machine makes, the fact that the clothes don’t get covered by the water and the clothes are so knotted after the spin cycle you have to untie them is normal for this awful appliance. In the sensing stage the machine groans like a laboring motor around 30 times, then stops with a jolt. My machine is next to the bedrooms and the noise wakes people up. Even in the “deep water” setting, the clothes are not covered by the water. The wash cycle is short and noisy and the spin cycle goes on forever. In the end I have to untie the legs of pants. Whoever designed this machine should be ashamed of herself or himself. Shame on Maytag.

Same issue as everyone else. After about 15 months the control panel on my Maytag dishwasher model#MDBH979SAM1 has malfunctioned. First it would only let me choose the rinse option but now all the lights are turning on and the dishwasher will not stop washing but yet the dishes are still dirty. I called Maytag and they quoted me 249.00 to fix the issue. But if its a common problem with this make and model why do I have to pay to replace the panel. They should recall this model or replace the panel with an updated one that wont have the same issues! I cant imagine paying 249.99 every year to replace this panel that seems to malfunction no matter what you do!!! I paid around 550.00 at the home Depot for this dishwasher! It did not even last me two years!!! I want a lawsuit filed against this company and I want my money back or my dishwasher replaced with one that works and wont have the same issues!!!

Maytag Model #MGR7662 range - We inherited this oven when we bought my mother-in-laws house 2 years ago. We had to get a thermometer to keep in the oven since the temperature is never consistent and is usually 50-100 degrees lower than the digital readout. We will be replacing this oven as soon as we can and it will NOT be a Maytag.

Our experience with our Maytag refrigerator has been anything but good! It has the model # and serial # of the ones that have been recalled, only we have just found out about this. We bought this new at Sears. Soon after, it started having troubles with the freezer, would freeze up and the whole thing would stop working. Over the years, we have had repair after repair, money after money. Just for the record, my husband and I about every two weeks spend about one hour defrosting this monster! It looks nice on the outside.

I purchased the matching Bravos Washer and Dryer in April 2010 at Lowes. I also purchased the extended warranty to have coverage for 4 years after purchase date. I noticed the dryer sensor is not very accurate. The purpose of the sensor is to detect when clothes are dry and then end the drying cycle automatically. However, it fails in both ways. When the dryer stops on its own, the clothes are still damp. I have the setting on NORMAL>LOW HEAT>NORMAL DRYNESS (the reason for the low heat is not to fade/shrink clothes) and even though the heat is on low, it should still keep running until the clothes are dry. So when I open the door and feel the clothes, they are still damp; I turn it back on to run again. If I dont check on it every 10 minutes, the dryer just keeps running and the clothes are bone dry. The sensor should detect this. Once, I decided to test it to see how long it would run with dry clothes and it ran for an HOUR before it shut off. Talk about a waste of electricity.The washer also has issues. First is the SHEETS setting. This setting is supposed to prevent sheets from tangling/balling up. Every time I use the sheets setting, my washer stops with the UL error - uneven load. Meaning, I have to babysit the washer because otherwise, it will stop and wait until I pull out the sheets and loosen them up. I am only washing 1 fitted full size sheet, 2 flat full size sheets, and 4 pillow cases. The reason I bought this machine was because it is supposed to handle king size bedding. Apparently, this washer cannot even handle full size bedding and I refuse to wash each item individually - the machine is supposed to save energy, not require extra loads. The second issue I am having, which resulted in me calling to utilize my extended warranty, is tiny rust dots on my clothes! About 3 months ago, I noticed one of my t-shirts had 4 tan spots smaller than the size of a dime. I assumed I spilled something on myself. About a month later, I noticed it was on another top. Then I assumed it was something on the back of my chair at work causing the spots. It seems to happen every couple of weeks because another article of clothing had these mysterious dots on them. Once, it appeared on my towels and sheets. I realized it was not me spilling anything on myself, nor was it from anything on my chairs. Now, I wasnt sure whether it was the washer or dryer, but I noticed when I pulled out a white sweater from the washer, there were 3 dots on it in the front, and I definitely would have noticed these before, which is how I came to the conclusion it’s from the washer. I cannot see any rust inside of the washer basket so I dont know where its coming from, but I am certain it is not from other articles of clothing (such as zippers or snaps); and the reason I know this is because I do not wash towels with clothes and also, I am 8 months pregnant and have been wearing maternity clothes for the past 5 months and they do NOT contain any zippers or snaps. I took pictures of the rust stains on various items and combined to 1 image. Now, I called my extended warranty to have a service technician come assess these three problems. Well see what happens.

Purchased a Maytag Bravos top loading washing machine in Sept. 2015. First time we used it the machine vibrated enough to shake the walls. We thought the balance was off. Called Lowes (installers) and they came out and said it was level. There was something fishy about the grinding type noise it made. Also noticed that in spite of all the noise that the clothes essentially stayed in the same spot while the basket moved. Sometimes the clothes on top never got completely wet or rotated through the wash water. Called Lowes again and they looked at the machine and said it needed replaced. But the 90 time period for replacement had passed. Lowes said it would be repaired. A technician came and replaced the basket, saying it might have been out of round. He left, we used the washing machine and it was worse. He came back an hour later and talked with Whirlpool and they said there might be something wrong with a gear. Hes going to replace the gearbox sometime. Meanwhile we are stuck with a washer that makes a lot of noise, vibrates terribly and doesnt appear to do much washing. If noise equated to cleanliness then it would be fantastic. But had we known about the noise or the many complaints we would never have made this purchase. Whatever happened to Maytag quality? Bet that Maytag repairman isnt lonely anymore.

For years I wanted a top loading Maytag washer. Last year I bought one at the cost of £720 plus VAT. Started using it last July and in November this year it broke down. The company I bought it from said, Sorry, youre out of our warranty... Really! Here’s some people who might fix it. Eventually Hotpoint took it on and honored a two year warranty. Since November I’ve had an engineer out twice. Still isn’t working. Won’t replace it because it’s now discontinued, so more parts ordered. Engineer advised me to go buy another washer. Thanks Maytag for totally disappointing me in what I thought would be my perfect washer. I will continue to email etc and hope that someone will help me. No point in phoning because no one listens. MY OPINION - DONT BUY AMERICAN PRODUCTS IN THE UK AS NO ONE CAN REPAIR THEM PROMPTLY IF AT ALL.

Buyer Beware! This is by far the WORST washing machine (Maytag Bravo) I have ever owned! The complaints are almost too numerous to list. Among them: Noise level is atrocious, water level is always low and cannot be adjusted, suds do not wash off, clothes do not come clean and get beaten up, takes an hour plus to do a load of laundry, frequently comes unbalanced, do not feel I can leave the house with this running, service calls have provided no fix, Maytag does not care. Do not buy! Saving my pennies to buy a different brand, will never touch a Maytag product again, Surprised there is not a Class Action lawsuit pending. When there is, Ill be right on board.

I purchased a new electric oven/stove, dishwasher and over the stove microwave. My dishwasher didn’t work from installation and it took Maytag over a month and half to repair. My oven door hasn’t worked properly since purchased and finally broke and I have been without an oven for two weeks waiting on repair. The customer service does not listen to you and seem to be completely unconcerned about your problem. I was told the item broken was a common stocked item and the repair would be quick but that was not true. The repairman told me they would have my parts in a week and would install them on a Monday. They have now scheduled my repair for Thursday. Over two weeks with no working oven. I will never purchase a Maytag appliance of any kind due to the terrible customer service.

I have a Bravos washer model # mvwb45owqo and matching dryer. The price for the pair was $1347.00 plus tax. The washer and dryer were bought Jan 14 2010. 10-10-13 the pump went bad and was replaced. I paid $ 221.00 to have it replaced. 10-31-2013 I was washing a load of cloths and it was very noisy. I call the local dealer and they come out and said that it needs a drive shaft tub part #w10193886. I would be about $300.00 to replace the part. Also they charge $75.00 for a service call. I called Maytag and talked to Ashley (**) from customer service and she said they could not give me any help that the washer was too old. I might also add that my last washer was 3 years old and the motor needed to be replaced. It was also a Maytag. I always thought if you paid more money for quality it was worth it. I am sorry I did not buy a cheap machine from Sears or somewhere else. It would of been 1/2 of the cost and I could of replaced it after 3 years or so if necessary and still been money ahead. We also have 4 rental homes that have all Maytag in it. I will be holding my breath that they are not junk also. I will tell everyone I know not to buy Maytag and I will never own anything that has the Maytag name on it again.

In October of 2012 we bought a Maytag Refrigerator Model MFF2258VEM. In the spring and summer of 2014, we noticed puddling on our kitchen floor. We thought it was our dishwasher or sink since the $1800+ fridge was new, but couldnt find the problem. We travel a lot and are gone for extended periods. When we returned in winter of 2014, we discovered that there was substantial puddling and found a sheet of ice in the bottom of the freezer compartment. We did research and found that this is a common problem with all the bottom-freezer Maytag models, which then leak. We discovered that the leak had seeped into our kitchen sub-floor and was destroying all of our kitchen floor tile, causing cracking and breaking, a renovation of just a few years previous that cost a lot of money. There was NO problem with the floor until we put in this Maytag refrigerator. The remedy for the leaking is constant maintenance and a lot of work, totally ridiculous for a product that costs so much. I want to sue Maytag for both replacement of the refrigerator and the cost of replacement of my tile floor. Can someone please advise? Thank you.

Purchased a Maytag Dishwasher (Serial # P33706417) in Sep. 2013. In the beginning was working fine. After a year and a half started having problems pushing the button to start, not starting. Had to wait a few hours then hit it again and all the lights would light up and then it would start washing. Then when done, some lights stayed on and never went off. Then a month or 2 later, same problem but only a couple of lights would go on and when done 2 lights would blink continuously. After several months now, none of the lights are working and cant get dishwasher to start. Called a tech and he said the control board and the touchpad were not working. Would cost me over $400 plus shipping, etc. to for new. Very frustrated with Maytag, as we havent even gotten 2 years out of this dishwasher and the 1 year warranty has expired. DONT BUY A MAYTAG!!!

Have had this side by side for a long time and it is great. Have not had any problems with it. Also have had an Amana which we love as well. These are side by side and are frost free and never have to clean.

On 12/09/12, I purchased a Maytag washer, model mvwc200xw, from our local Menards store. About 6 months ago, the washer started making a slight banging noise, and would occasionally move in the spin cycle. Now, when washing a small to medium size load, the banging noise is very loud and does a lot of moving. I found nothing in the troubleshooting guide to help me on this, so I looked on-line and found several websites discussing this same problem. They stated that the problem was a snubber assembly and the replacement part would cost $4.55. They also said the washer would have to be taken apart to change out this $4.55 part.I watched a you-tube video of someone changing this part and quickly came to the conclusion that I would need help in doing this. A comment was left in the video from a Maytag repairman saying that the person changing this part was not doing it in a safe manner. The repairman stated that changing it in the way this person described in the video was DANGEROUS! I wrote an email to Maytag customer service explaining the problem and asked if there was anything they could do to help me on this 1 1/2 year old washer. I received an immediate email stating they would get back to me in 3 days. Ten days later, I finally received a reply. I was told there was nothing they could or would do even though I was a valued customer and that they understand and appreciate my feelings of disappointment.I worked for a large department store from 1970 to 1990 and sold appliances, one of them being the Maytag brand. At that time, they were considered to be a top of the line brand. This was why I purchased Maytag appliances for over 40 years. I am surprised and saddened to see a lot of on-line complaints against Maytag appliances and also that this 1 1/2 year washer needs to be repaired so soon. Obviously, times have changed. I figured it would cost me at least $100.00 to have this washer repaired. Rather than do that, I am going to take this in need of repair to a scrape recycling center and then go out and buy a new washer, but it will not be Maytag! Maytag will never disappoint me again!

We purchased all Maytag home appliances when our home was remodeled about five years ago. After the first year, the microwave had to be replaced because it malfunctioned. The dishwasher stopped working in the third year, and now, my refrigerator (model# mf12568AEB) wont cool. The technician told me that all of the Freon had leaked out because of a design flaw. Moisture had gotten into the compressor, and with the cost of repair or replacing the compressor, I would probably be better off buying a new refrigerator, preferably not a Maytag.

I went to Home Depot in Kennesaw, Ga to purchase new W&D combo. I had found what I wanted but when the sales went to complete my order, the units I selected werent available. She talked me into the Maytag Bravo, but I specifically stated I needed a large tub because I wash a lot of towels and sheets. Well this expensive piece of shhh, doesnt even get all the items wet. Ive had to lift the lift and physically flip items in tub, especially with towels and sheets. Also, the washer is loud, did I say loud, I mean freaking loud. The dryer is fine, but I bought combo for a reason... Pricetag $1200.00 with my discount. I waited a week for delivery, I am mad as hell. Whats point of having large tub, when you barely get enough water. Luckily I found out now, so I can have them pick this CRAP UP, Do not buy. Theyre cute looking, but washer does not get your clothes clean.

Replacing a working but noisy 14 year old Sears dishwasher for the newer Maytag was my bone head move for 2011. It died the first year control panel shot, no warranty. Paid for repair. This month dead again; same problem. Recall this stainless steel garbage. Maytag model MDBH949. Maytag, never again. Bought twice and last time.

I like my fridge. Its a old one and still works. Its been very reliable and have never had a problem with. I dont think I would ever purchase a different brand for Maytag is the brand for me. They last for years.

Bought the top load water saving washer 3 years ago and paid around $500 dollars for it. It will not operate correctly. I always thought Maytag was the best!! My main complaint is I cannot get no one on the phone to ask questions about what might be wrong with it!! Now Im angry, its like you buy it, its yours, we arent worried about you after that!! I am on a fixed income and no one cares!! Ill never buy anything manufactured by Maytag ever again!!

This oven has been used so very seldom that I didnt feel I could rate it until now. We use the oven 1-2 times a week since purchasing it in March of 2018. There hadnt been any reason to use the Self Cleaning part of the oven until last week. I have had a oven with self-cleaning for 20 years and the oven went out so we purchased this one because of its sleek look and features. However last week I decided to use the self-cleaning setting on it and came home after being gone all day to find that the house smelled like it had a fire burning in it. I ran to the oven to find the whole inside cover in a white powdery substance. It looked like a snow blizzard had gone on inside of it. I was use to a small amount of white residue being inside the oven after it finished and it just wiped right up. We spent hours vacuuming it out then scrubbing it down with vinegar water and a sponge with a scouring pad on it. The casserole spill was still on the bottom, most of the enamel is gone and the glass will not clean off. I did not use any chemicals in the oven prior to turning it to the self-clean mode, I believe that it overheated and burnt the enamel off and distorted the glass. Whirlpool offered to send me a cleaning kit. I told them that would do no good. I had already scrubbed and used a razor blade to try and clean the bottom and the glass and them sending me different cleaning supplies would not fix the fact that 80% of the inside protective coating on the oven is gone. Now it is a porous surface. A Serviceman was scheduled and he called prior to arrival today and asked me to explain what was going on with my oven. I explained and he said I can almost guarantee that Whirlpool will say that it is cosmetic and they only cover cosmetic for 3 months and that I will have to pay for a $100.00 service call. This is a load of crap. This coating is part of the oven to keep it clean and protect the metal from the high heat of baking in it. This is not cosmetic feature like the outside stainless steel finish or the black trim decor. The inside doesnt look pretty. It is a function. See the photos below. Whirlpool Range Item # 805150. My Maytag refrigerator is less than 5 years old; the compressor went out (only warrantied for 1 year, 5 years used to be the minimum). I contacted the company who now owns Maytag, I believe Whirlpool. They told me they can fix it, no matter what the problem is, for $380.00. It turns out they sold me an extended warranty, but that was never explained in the conversation. Prior to contacting them, I had Sears out to fix it; they are the ones that told me it was the compressor. 1 week after buying the extended warranty, the repair company came out to fix it and found out the refrigerator was unplugged and informed me it needed to be plugged in for 24 hours in order for him to determine what was wrong with it. I scheduled an appointment 1 week later. When they came back, they said it was the compressor, and they needed to order the parts. 1 week later, they came back, and the compressor they came with did not work. 3 weeks now, no refrigerator. They said they would put a rush on the order, haha. Now, I have to wait another 8 days for them to come out to repair. 4 weeks without a refrigerator? I think there is some type of implied warranty when you purchase large appliances; these companies are getting away with murder. Are refrigerators now disposable commodities? Cheaper to buy new ones than repair the new ones? What will happen to our landfills?

I have had this range (Maytag MER8775AS electric range) for 36 days. The hot surface indicator light doesnt come on (bulb is fine) and the heat elements turn on and off on their own when I am cooking. 36 days! This thing is junk! I am going to see if I can return it, even though it is outside the 30-day window.

I have a Maytag Bravos washer and on almost every other load, the dark clothes (mainly slacks) come out with white splotches on them and then I have to re-wash the pants and the splotches go away. What could be causing this? Im tired of washing clothes more than once. Its incredibly wasteful and bad for our environment. Thank you.

This is not about a Bravo but Maytag is the biggest piece of junk Ive ever owned. Have not had the washer but a couple of years and is leaking somewhere inside of the machine. Have to turn the water on and off just to wash clothes and still laundry room floor soaked. The dryer I have to run for 70 mins. on high heat at least twice to dry clothes, 3 times for your towels. Of course it lasted long enough so the warranty had run out. Never ever again would I buy this crap.

I purchased my Maytag Neptune washer and dryer 5 years ago. About 2 months ago, my washer started making a lot of noise in the final spin cycle. Well, after I called my repair man (who I purchased the set from), they said that a back bearing is faulty. They suggested calling Maytag because the cost of the repair is $500. I called Maytag and was told that due to the age of my washer, there was nothing they could or would do for me. This is very poor customer service and very poor quality as far as I am concerned. I can hardly afford to get it fixed, but I also cannot be without a washer. Im sorry I have several other appliances that are Maytag in my home.

I purchased a Maytag dishwasher with a control panel in September of 2013. In August of 2014, the control panel died and did not allow me to run the washer. In March of 2015, the piece which was replaced died. When contacting Maytag, even when they did the repair the first time, said they were unable to cover the cost because it was now out of warranty. Ive seen several class action lawsuits around the product with Maytag. Do not buy a Maytag. It used to be a quality brand, but is now terrible.

I have been buying Maytag washer & dryers for 40 years. Have always been satisfied until now. The first 2 sets of washer & dryer were great. Very little ever went wrong. Now I have purchased another set approx. 3 years ago. As of today, I will be putting approx. $300.00 in repair to the washer. Repairman said it is a bad design. It is the second time for the same problem, which was repaired a year ago! I will not buy another Maytag product if they cannot be reliable. I should not have to pay $300.00 in repair for a 3 year old washing machine. I am very disappointed.

I had six service calls, one was a few months after purchase when under warranty for loud noise. I bought it in 08 and since then during the last 6 months, its freezing in the refrigerator. Service person is upset. I contacted corporate and they do not care and told me I should have bought their warranty. Yes, they had to be here when it was under warranty. Still freezing, they played with air hoses, replaced the temp panel and did everything they can, with no results. Theyre giving it one more try and it is going to be hooked up to the Silverado and put on I-75 with a sign on it. Do not buy from this company. Terrible service. I emailed CEO and no response. I just tossed a tomato and strawberry on the tile floor. Yes, buy American. They moved their plant from Indiana (union) to I think TN for non-union. Well, get what you pay for and the employees get what they are paid for. I work in the building business and everyone knows not to buy this product! Just throwing your money away. One good thing is if you like frozen beverages, this is the product to buy! Never again! Receipts in hand! Romney probably owns the stock! LOL

I am angry that Maytag puts out a washer that hasnt been through quality control. The computer panel is a piece of **, and is not worth $1.00. Do not buy this washer. Shame on Maytag.

Really havent had any problems. The Maytag repairman really is lonely. Great quality wash machines and dryers for that matter. I havent had to do anything. Spins well... Very quiet, no complaints. Dryer works well too. Many cycles area to put fabric softener and bleach. It has a extra extraction cycle and many other features.

It does not matter what mode you select, every single piece of clothing comes out a scrunched up wrinkled mess. I have to wash all clothing in bulky sheets mode because it is the only mode where the clothing actually gets submerged in the water. This washing machine is extremely loud and it is without a doubt, the worst purchase I have ever made. I have never written a review before, but this product is so horrible and frustrating. If I can persuade one person not to purchase one, I feel that I have done a good deed.

Purchased standard Maytag refrigerator w/ freezer on top in 2012. Freezer has never been able to keep ice cream. Never called for repair because after reading several of these complaints, mine seemed to be a minor frustration. However, I am waiting for the other shoe to drop.

I bought this MMV4205BAB microwave thinking Maytag was a good brand and I wanted an over the range type. Problems began when it would stop in the middle of a cooking cycle. I called the repairman as it was under warranty. It was decided by the repairman that the weight of thing was too great for its thin frame, not letting the door close correctly. I got a new one and it, from day one, would make a shorting sound every time anything was cooked, on the stove top, under it, while it was on. It finally just shorted out. I have a Maytag washer and dryer that are also junk. So, needless to say, Maytag, 3 strikes and youre out. I will never have another Maytag product and I let others know what a great product it is.

I purchased the washer 12 months ago. I liked large tub size and Maytag name. Thought I had made a good purchase. Boy am I am sorry. The washer overflows my large utility sink for drainage on large load setting and clean setting, ruining the flooring in an adjoining room. You cant wash black clothes in it leave white residue spots all over clothing. You cant use pod soap. Doesnt dissolve totally. Just on your clothing so you must wash again. Purchased washer last Nov. It broke over month ago, tub cracked and would no longer spin. The part took month to get. Same day was repaired. It broke again after 2nd load of wash with the same issue. I have had this refrigerator only 6 weeks. The freezer works but the refrigerator does not cool properly. I went back to Home Depot - Baltimore MD and told them I have lost 3-1 gallons of milk for it spoiled. I am right now putting a 4th gallon in and out of the freezer trying to keep it. A serviceman was to my house the other day and stated this brand new Maytag refrigerator only had in my home 6 weeks needs a new board and a flapper that opens up in freezer that sends cold air to refrigerator. Parts are on order. Home Depot would not trade a Maytag refrigerator that worked well and take this lemon back. I am stuck with a lemon I only bought 6 weeks ago.

Maytag Commercial # MVWB765FW0: My husband and I wanted to get rid of our GE front load. It was horrible. Even constant cleaning and leaving the door open all the time, our clothes still smelled like mildew and musty. My hubby wanted an LG and I said no way. As a little girl my mom had an old wringer washer and her first electric washer was a Maytag in the late 50s. She passed away in 2001 and in her lifetime she had 2 electric washing machines both were Maytags. They were so dependable and built to last so naturally I wanted a Maytag. Wrong! I am so disappointed. We purchased it in Sept of 2017 for $695. I was so excited the first time we used it. It was a little noisy, but living in the county and having a well we were glad it was an energy/water saver. The first couple of months it was so refreshing to have clothes that did not smell musty and mildewy. I noticed they were really wrinkled but I still iron anyway so it was not a big deal. However ironing over and over again on some items did not get rid of the wrinkles and the past 2 months I have been going thru lint rollers like crazy and it still does not come off. I have to use a slightly damp lint brush or go over the clothing with packing tape to get the lint off. It is horrible! I dont want my GE back but I dont want this one either! I wish I would have read reviews first and listened to my hubby. I wont ever have another Maytag and when this one goes I will certainly read reviews and go with something more dependable. Unfortunately for now we have wasted the money and it is ruining our clothes! I agree that we should all do the class action. There are just too many of us experiencing the same issues. Maytag should do right by the consumer! We have learned our lesson, review before you buy!

I was all too excited to FINALLY own a new set! I conducted research and read reviews. We decided on the Maytag Bravo XL set (Lowes) and was thrilled! For the first 6 months. They were both fantastic! 6 months later, several times the clothes washed were soaking wet as if they had been set on soak. It continuously alerted to clean after 3 loads. The dryer... Well, evidently, if you live in a high-humidity region, DO NOT HOOK TO THE WATER LINE FOR THE STEAM OPTION. It will soak your dry clothes! After 3 loads of drying, it fails to re-start for the 4th load for at least 12 hours! When paying over $1,590 for a new set, this should not be an issue. Mind you, I do laundry once a week - 5 to 7 loads including linen. Fortunately, we paid an additional $200 for the warranty at Lowes.Lets see what happens there!

In late March or early April 2010, I purchased a Maytag Microwave from Sears in Ocean, New Jersey. The microwave was installed by Sears technicians on April 9, 2010. The total price for the microwave and installation was $356.53. I specifically purchased the Maytag brand because of Maytags longstanding reputation for quality products with long lifespans.On October 5, 2014, the microwave became inoperative and displayed a code of SE. On or about October 9, 2014, I contacted Maytag Customer Experience Center, via email, and advised them of this problem. I also wrote to Maytag explaining the situation. On October 15, 2014, I was advised via email that, as my warranty had expired, any repairs were my responsibility. I requested that my email be forwarded to Maytags CEO for consideration and review and was advised on October 20, 2014 that a Maytag supervisor would call me within two to three business days (of October 20th). After a follow up letter to the CEO, I was again advised on October 28, 2014, that the microwave was out of warranty and any repairs were my responsibility.I should add that I contacted Maytag Repair Service and was advised that the price of the repair far exceeded the price of the microwave. I feel that four years is not the expected lifespan of a microwave, especially a Maytag, and can only conclude that the Maytag microwave which I purchased was defective. I have purchased less expensive microwaves that have lasted for at least ten years. I got absolutely nowhere with Maytag personnel, found them to be curt and dismissive and would NOT purchase another Maytag product nor would I recommend them. Buyer beware - Maytag is not what it used to be! Very disappointing.

Two years ago I purchased a Maytag Top-Loading HE Low-Water washer. I have always taken great pride in the way my laundry looks and smells but since this purchase, my laundry no longer smells clean and fresh nor does it look clean. I have always used the same detergent and fabric softener (only now I use the HE version) and it served me well. I have read all of the directions and did as I was instructed. I cannot believe that anyone would actually think that you can do laundry with practically no water. Do the decision makers have not common sense at all? I didnt and still dont believe it but what choice did I have when all of the machines are now HE with low water. I think its terrible that consumers dont have a choice. I have come to realize that low water, HE washing machines actually waste more time, energy and money (detergent and fabric softener).My clothes are not clean, nor do they smell good when the wash cycle is finished so I have to wash them again, using more detergent, fabric softener and energy. The super fast spin that supposedly sucks out most of the moisture, also rumples my laundry with semi-permanent wrinkles (even on the low wrinkle setting) so clothes that never had to be ironed before, now need pressing. I find it remarkable that, with all of the detergent ads promoting washing clothes in cold water to save energy, we are told that if our clothes are not sufficiently clean in cold water in our HE washers, that we should try a warmer/hot temperature. Good luck with that because my machine has several temperature settings but only uses one - COLD! I cannot actually believe that with all of the technology that our society holds, we are going backwards in the basics of washing clothes. Terrible product, terrible quality, terrible results, terrible waste of time, resources and money. Why cant you just leave some things alone??

We have had and used this washing machine for over 25 years and only had one small problem and that was to replace the lid switch and the machine is working today as good as the day we bought it, it has went through raising four kids and many grandkids.

I cook a lot so we wanted to purchase a double oven. We purchased this double oven about 10 months ago. Every day I complain about this range. It cooks very uneven. Called Maytag and they sent out a repairman who said I needed to preheat the oven for 25 minutes before putting my food inside. Dont pay any attention to the beep, because when it says it has preheated but it really hasnt. To think you pay that kind of money for such a piece of JUNK!! Also, I have owned 2 other glass top stoves (the last one I owned for 23 years) and never had a scratch on the surface. Theres already a big scratch on this new one. Glass top on this one is such poor quality. Would not recommend to my worst enemy.

We purchased a Maytag Bravos Washer and companion dryer in March 2018. I like to wash our king size bedding often and liked that this model had no agitator and could accompany the large loads. I am using the extra rinse constantly since I dont trust the amount of water (not) used. The dryer however, is worthless! No matter the garment or setting, everything comes out in a ball. Tshirts are twisted and wrinkled and half wet. I end up rewashing almost everything then being a guardian for the dryer---checking and rechecking every load. Maytag says sorry, its out of warranty. I absolutely hate these appliances!

I bought a set of 4 Maytag kitchen appliances. Terrible quality. Dishwasher racks poorly designed for anything except standard size dishes. Microwave has a hotspot and explodes whatever Im reheating. But refrigerator is the worst. According to my service man, Maytag is aware of known issue with poor quality evaporator coils that erode quickly, leaking freon. Causes problems with ice buildup in freezer, poor ice production until it loses enough freon to stop chilling correctly causing food spoilage. Im to that point now. This fridge is only good for offshore fishing site. Whirlpool is aware but will stall as long as possible, then refuse replacement, but they will offer to help you replace the appliance. HA! Fool me once, shame on you. Twice, shame on me.

In the last 6 years my husband and I have bought the high end front load Maytag washers and both have crapped out within the year. I will never buy another product from this company again. Their customer service was no help and the washer needs to be rebuilt. We are waiting for parts which are back ordered months in advance. I will have no washing machine for at least 2 months. I do not trust any product made by Maytag and any company who sells Maytag should be ashamed to sell their product. There is nothing that I have experienced that would make me trust this company whatsoever!

When my stackable washer finish its complete cycle, there is water left in the tub. You can manually turn the tub and you can hear water sloshing around.

Refrigerator (Model Mff2558vems) purchased end of November 2011. Early in 2013 notice refrigerator first forming ice all over freezer, including an ice sheet on bottom of freezer. Then noticed water around refrigerator. Called maytag and they sent repairman even though a little over year and out of warranty. Their service people seemed to know exactly what was causing the leak as they came in with the correct replacement part. Worked fine however, there was damage to my newly refinished hardwood floors which Maytag did pay to repair. A couple of days ago I opened the freezer and again noticed ice all over freezer. The next day, water all around freezer. I cleaned everything up, so I thought. The day after, we noticed the hardwood in kitchen buckling up far from refrigerator and the laminate in dining room bubbling, even though there was no visible sign of water. Called Maytag repair company but they couldnt come out for a couple of days. Called another local repair service familiar with Maytag refrigerators and he couldnt find anything wrong with refrigerator even though he knows leaking caused by refrigerator. Called insurance co. and they sent over service master. Leak is definitely coming from refrigerator. They had to pull up hardwood floor, part of walls, the dining room. They now have five large fans going and a defroster to dry things up. This is upsetting, as my daughters wedding is next month, my husband is currently laid off and I dont need this kind of aggravation again. I love the french door idea, so roomy for my large family, but I am now afraid of this refrigerator. I dont want it but think it is ridiculous I have to shell out more money when the refrigerator is less than 3 years old. I talked with a higher level supervisor at Maytag and they are only willing to give a 100.00 rebate towards a new refrigerator since the refrigerator is out of warranty. This is ridiculous. I thought by buying American I was helping our economy but what I got in return is heartache and crappy merchandise. If there is a lawsuit in California against Maytag about these refrigerators I want to join. My friend in N. CA who bought her Maytag refrigerator the same time I did is also experiencing leaking. So frustrating.

I bought this washer in November of 2012 thinking it’s one of the best because it is a Maytag. Five months later, the wash machine needed a new gear case because it was making this horrible loud noise when it was washing and spinning. The service guy came over and replaced this part. Now, the washer does not want to spin. The clothes are soaked, and I have to stand there and manually turn the knob to spin it; and it still doesnt spin right. This is the worst experience I’ve ever had with a washing machine, and I regret ever buying this Maytag. They should recall this series of washers because there is something really wrong when you have to have it repaired twice, and it is not even a year old!

I purchased my 10kg commercial Maytag dryer in March 2015 and started using it in May 2015. Within two months the heater had broken. I contacted the people I bought it off and it turned out I had to contact Whirlpool. It took them 8 weeks to get my dryer going again. The dryer broke down again in November. This time it was a sensor. Again I had to contact Whirlpool, it took them three weeks to get it going again. Being a care home the dryer is essential to our business. We were led to believe when we took out the extended warranty that the dryer would be fixed within a week. I will never purchase a Maytag again or anything to do with Whirlpool.

I have a Maytag washing machine for close to 20 years, so when it was time to replace it, I bought another Maytag: the Bravos. I read reviews, and most negative ones complained that it used too little water, twisted clothes, and was noisy. But I wanted an HE and can tolerate noise just fine. What I cannot tolerate is the fact that -- less than 2 years after purchase -- the control panel is malfunctioning, and it will cost $500 to repair. Id rather buy a new washing machine than throw good money after bad on this one. Bye-bye, Maytag.

I bought a Maytag washer 6 years ago. Energy saver. Less water. Nothing ever seemed clean. Always white streaks and I used liquid detergent. So we went out and bought another Maytag with agitator June 2017. Never drains properly. I will never ever buy another Maytag product.

This Bravos 300 washer has never cleaned clothes adequately. I have 3 sons who are athletic and this washer does not clean sweaty or dirty clothes even with extra rinse. Now my machine is 4 years and 3 months old and it needs a new bearing which will cost me $385. The repairman said this is a common repair in this machine. Maytag should be ashamed of the poor quality of this machine. I am now looking to by a new traditional top loader. These HE machines are a joke. I am contacting them to make a complaint and see if anything can be done.

I had bought Maytag Dishwasher MDBH979AWW3 in Sep. 2009. Oct 2011, the dishwasher stopped working and the control panel had to be replaced, few days later, it stopped working again and the Thermal fuse had to be replaced. Now two months later, it stopped working again. Till this point, Ive spent a lot of money on the repairs and I wish I had used that money to buy a new dishwasher. Looks like not just the Maytag dishwashers are faulty, but even the parts they have are faulty. I will not recommend any Maytag products to anyone.

I read the reviews before I bought this washer, went to a major department store to buy it. This way I knew that I could get good support if something happened to it. Its been 3 months, I use the washer everyday. There are 4 adults in my building, they use it daily. I have never had a problem yet, the clothes come out cleaner than the front loader I have. It seems Maytag still makes a good product. I am the first to admit, when you make large number of products you will have some with a defect. But this washer the Centennial by Maytag works great.. Plenty of water in the tub, the clothes come out clean.. Maybe those people having problems need to stop buy at big box home centers. Theyre known for lumber not washers.

We paid over 2000.00 for our refrigerator in May 2011 and within a year ice started forming on the bottom and then leaking out on to the floor. Every week I have to get out large beach towel to lay under the pull out drawer, break up the built up ice and then pull it out onto the towel. I too called Maytag who said it was out of warranty. Now today I notice a significant temperature drop in the refrigerator and freezer. Whats odd is that the day before yesterday the freezer was so cold the ice cream was solid as a rock. I have not changed the factory settings since it was installed. I HATE MAYTAG!!!

Wow! I wished I had reviewed this page before purchasing a Maytag. We bought a new Maytag Range (#MGR5751BDD) from Menards in March 2008. Within a couple of months, we were out of a stove. I was lighting the burner to make dinner for my family (it is a gas range) and all the burners started making a clicking noise and they caught on fire. Luckily, my husband was nearby and took the fire extinguisher to it.We thought for sure that the house was going to be gone. We contacted Maytag and they had a guy come out (wasnt the friendliest and cted like he could care less). He stated there was wiring that was bad but because we took the fire extinguisher to it we probably voided the warranty. What? He would submit a report to Maytag.Maytag reluctantly gave us some money but not near enough to cover the stove that was only a couple of months old. Now, I cant use the new range that is 2.5 years old. It pops and spurts because the regulator needs to be replaced. The bad thing is by the time we pay for a repairman and the new part, it will cost us a lot of money we cant afford. This stinks.

Wish I would have read the many, many, many reviews on the Maytag MDB8959SBS dishwasher before buying it. As noted by others, the touch control buttons stopped working 1 month after the 1 year warranty expired and Maytag wont do anything about it. BE WARY OF THE 10 YEAR WARRANTY CLAIM - IT DOESNT COVER THIS PROBLEM. Maytag should issue a recall on this product and do the right thing - take care of customers like they used to.

Had Maytags since we got married (57 yrs). The first one lasted over 30 years, the second about 15 years, then got a Kenmore that washed beautifully, but lasted 3 years. Have a newer Maytag now that is supposed to be more efficient, but takes forever to wash a load. The biggest disappointment with new appliances is there is no timer to let you know what is happening during the cycle.

Less than 2 yrs old and starts giving UL error on spin cycle. I try replacing the springs. No relief. Notice dark brown fluid under dryer. Thing sound like a plane taking off. A little more research and Im thinking its the bearings. Looks like an expensive repair, now I have to decide whether to cut my losses. Seriously? The reviews on here are just horrible, not like this was an dl hell machine.

Maytag Bravos electric steam dryer purchased 2009 - I have had to replace the door hinges within one year of usage at my expense. The blower belt and pulley had come off twice, the last time about a half hour after the repairman (again at my expense) left. I put it back on myself and if it comes off again, I will use Locktite to glue it on the blower shaft. I figure I will be lucky if this crap lasts a couple more years anyway. No more Maytag for us! What does it take for the consumer to get some representation with regard to lemon laws here? I will take my wrath out on Home Depot here since I have no recourse. If enough people complain, maybe they will stop selling that junk. I also will disregard Consumer Reports in the future.

Im very pleased with both the washer and the dryer. The front-load washer is very efficient with many washing options dependent on items being washed. Spin cycle spins very well which lessens the dry time of the washer.

I have been the latest victim in purchasing a Maytag Refrigerator. Something needs to be done about the defective products they are putting on the market. I received 9/7/13 (yesterday) a new Model FW: 555 Complaints and Reviews about Maytag Refrigerators bottom freezer refrigerator. After being plugged in for 3 hrs, the temp was 60 degrees.. After 8 hrs same and 24 hrs same. I lost everything because of the defect. I notified the store 3 hrs after purchasing it and because I had it delivered on a Saturday I have to wait till Monday to get this resolved. I want everyone to read before buying a Maytag product.

I had a stroke last year in August and my children got together and bought me a washer. And after the third use this thing started messing up and I had to call in someone. Now the warranty is up and I am sitting here with a new broken down machine.

I bought a Maytag dishwasher in January 2013. Three months later, the cheap plastic latch on the door malfunctioned. I waited 3 weeks for the repairmen to get the part in. Is there a sense of urgency anymore? If I owed Maytag money, I bet there would be a real sense of urgency on their part. Next time it will be an LG dishwasher.

Bought the washer in February 2012 for $900 at a local appliance store, delivery included. Just yesterday (10/16/15) a 5 cent piece of grey plastic flew out of the lid lock mechanism. Thinking this $900 modern piece of machinery painstakingly designed by intelligent people with university degrees would certainly work if I just stuck the plastic part back in. I just popped it back in, the lid locked, and the machine spun away happily (only having to run a correct cycle for an unbalanced load twice! What joy!) Fast forward 40 minutes, I skip down the stairs to go retrieve my flannel sheets (because its October in Pennsylvania, its getting freezing cold at night) and pull up gently to open the lid. It doesnt budge. About 2 hours later, following a screaming match and some furious googling, it was determined we would need two people to pop the entire top off the machine to extract my sheets.So in order to use the washer to clean clothing now, weve been unplugging the machine. Removing the three screws on the control panel (aka brainbox), unplugging the black and white wire from the brain box, taking the control panel off and sitting it on the dryer, and using putty knives to push in the metal clips holding down the top of the machine down, and prying the entire top of the machine back on its hinge. Then I can get my clothes out. Then doing so in reverse (dont forget to add detergent before shutting the lid! It will lock and you will have to pop the entire top off again.) to use the washer. All because of a 5 cent piece of PLASTIC. What brainchild figured, Eh, we can just use plastic for this important piece that the washer wont run properly without. It doesnt matter!? Someone that wanted to make $300 a pop doing service calls thats who.I cant believe Maytag has gone so far down the tubes. In case anyone else ran into this problem and needs to fix it, write down the model number, serial number, and other crud listed under the lid. Then use them to wipe while youre in the bathroom. All you need is the company and part number on the lid lock mechanism. According to Maytags website my washer doesnt exist. And there was no way, no matter how creatively I googled, to find a part for it with the Maytag model number. So now I have to try to find this measly mechanism to replace and try to use this piece of crud for a few more months. I guess my Christmas present this year is buying a new washer. And you can BET it will not be a Maytag.And two more things: with no agitator, you can fit really big stuff, but you also get to hear your washing machine dancing on your basement floor with an uneven load. No matter how many times you try to re-position items, it runs a corrective cycle, refills with water, and spins everything into a ball AGAIN. Also, the miserable thing is starting to rust. At least I knew that one would work without a cheap piece of plastic. And at this point I might prefer wringing my clothes to hearing my washer try to escape. In short: cheap parts, no replacements available through company for DIY repairmen, company designed to force customers to use their servicing for $300 a pop. 1/10 would NOT recommend Maytag.

My Maytag washing machine is rusting out at less than three years! [Photos included]. I have called customer service twice, spoken to two different women and have been told that it is a cosmetic issue [Model MTW2541240; Serial CW2541240 ]. The last e-mail with photos was sent to Gwendolyn **. I indicated that the rust has ruined very expensive sheets, other clothing, towels. It took me a long time to figure out what was causing the spots on the clothes. There is rust on the outside of the machine, the lid and inside the actual drum which holds the water. The machine is a lemon. You have me registered in your system with the date of purchase.My question to you, since when is rust in the inside of a washing machine a cosmetic issue? Are you aware of this issue? Do you as the CEO believe this is what is acceptable for a Maytag washing machine? I firmly suspect this issue is beyond my washer based on my research with various stores and sales people. They are telling me I am not the first with this issue, non-Lowes stores. I purchased the machine at Lowes and because no one at Whirlpool was responsive to him or to Lowes, he is offering to apply the refund to a new Lowes washing machine. I am now in the process of searching my credit card records from Sept-Oct 2008 which is when I bought the machine.I would like not to be restricted to Lowes for another washing machine. I will notify Rick ** (at the Lowes Turtle Creek, Coconut Creek store in Florida, telephone 954 346-3993) of this letter to you so that you and Rick dont think I am trying to obtain a double refund. I just want the full value of the washer back so that I will have a choice in the replacement. The selection at Lowes is limiting. I will upgrade to more of a commercial washer and pay the difference. I wanted you to be made aware of this issue.

I bought a new washer and dryer on Sept. 9, 2011. Front Load Commercial 2000 Series. I have had Lowes to my home 2 times since it was delivered because it shimmies across the floor. I am very upset with the purchase of the Maytag front load washer. If you could please get back to me on what can be done. Ran washer with extra rinse and clothes came out with dry spots. The only way to get clean wash is to wash everything on bulky/sheets. We lost every appliance in Sandy. If I had known the machine was so-called water saver I never would have purchased it. I was in a hurry. I hate the machine.

My washer has always had an odor, and I clean the gasket. It gets mold on the gasket and smells horrible! Now for my dryer, it has 3 baffles inside that helps turn and fluff the clothes, and 2 of mine have broke off. And that results in clothes that look like they have been in the dryer for weeks. And I take them out as soon as they are done drying.

Purchased new Neptune stacks in 2002 and had several service calls on our expense and we noticed the hinges on the washer door were rusting! Ordered new ones from dealer but rust continues and has spread to top of machine over the bleach dispenser. The metal is falling off! Bad rust on the inside lip under door also. I contacted Maytag when I first noticed rust and they blew me off so I contacted the local dealer we bought from and they did nothing to help. Our Maytag dishwasher was just past the 1-year mark when the control panel stopped working. A certified Maytag repair service came out to diagnose just that and charged us $89. Maytag sent the user interface out to us, and my husband noted that there was absolutely no way that the part could be installed wrong. The wires could only go one way. The repair service (DSM Appliance Service) wanted another $120 to install it. We installed it, and it still doesnt work. Maytag will no longer assist us in any way. I will never buy a Maytag or Whirlpool appliance again. After investigating, I see that this control panel issue has happened many, many times; and I wonder why there hasnt been something done about it.

I have a Maytag refrigerator, Model #MBR 2256KES6, that is only 18 months old. It has totally stopped working. First, there was a large puddle of water on the kitchen floor and then a loud clicking noise in the middle of the night. It does not cool the fridge or the freezer. I cannot believe that a $1300 product is done working at 18 months. I cannot afford a new refrigerator. They should be arrested for selling such junk to the public.

I have had my Maytag set for shy of 2 full years, of actual usage time, that is. My dryer seems to be functioning normally, minus an occasional lengthy cycle time, even after the clothes are dry. The washer however, is sitting in my garage now. F51 error code, which online told me the rotary position sensor was the issue. Yes, I was told by an A&E repairman, who was at the house for an unrelated repair, that it was the bearing that was bad. When he showed me what I was looking for, there was the bearing laying in the clear plastic housing, in the underside of the washer. Its going to cost around $350.00 to get the part, if it can be found, and the service call. No, not really worth wasting more money on it. I am very unsatisfied with this unit. With 4 kids and 2 adults at home, I expected much more from the Maytag name.

Bought a Maytag dishwasher 2011! Use it 2 weeks, digital board went down had it replaced! Now 2013, the board is down as well as the motor!! Can you imagine I use it once a day, at most 2 people in this house, and it completely breaks down! Thank goodness I have a Home Depot warranty. I would strongly advise against this product that I spent over $500 for 2 years ago!! How they could sell this dishwasher is a mystery.

The bleach dispenser will dispense bleach BUT it is full of water after each use. The dispenser is flushed with water by the machine at the engineered time in the cycle. The warranty service companies want me to pay around $300 ($100 + $70/ hr) for them to work on it. I have to use a measuring cup and pour water into the dispenser until it begins to siphon out. Stop pouring, and the dispenser will be empty for the next addition of bleach. The washer is allowing water to partially fill the dispenser AFTER the bleach has been flushed/siphoned out into the load of clothes. If the flush water were completely shut off after flushing operation, the dispenser should be empty.

We bought our Maytag Bravos in December 2010. Four months out of warranty, like many other complaints Ive read, we started getting the loud jet taking off noise from the laundry room. Now we are having issues with the lid lock not allowing you to get to the clothes. This machine tries to spin three times and then locks up. It literally locks the lid and will not allow you to get to your clothes! For a machine to fail just four months out of warranty is a joke! After investigating the problems with the machine, it will cost us more to repair than what we originally paid for the washer in the first place. Give me a break! There should be a recall and Maytag should have their feet held to the fire to replace these less than adequate high-dollar machines!

I bought a Maytag refrigerator, model MBF 2256 KEQ2, two and a half years ago. Now the cooling coils are freezing up. I checked heater and thermostat for continuity and they were okay so the only thing left was the timer control circuit. On the earlier models, the timer control circuit is controlled by a Timer Motor or an Adaptive Defrost Timer which is separate from the main Electronic Control Board and much less expensive. On later models (including mine), the timer control circuit is incorporated into the main Electronic Control Board so if your automatic defrost quits working, more than likely you will have to replace the main board. I did not purchase an extended warranty because I believe they are useless from past experience. I bought the part on Amazon.com, received it in four days and replaced it myself for a cost of $78. This part costs $110 to $118 at Sears or a Maytag dealer.

We bought a Maytag 2000 Series machine about 2 years ago. At first the machine worked great, as a new machine should. Then, after about 7 months water started pouring out of the top dispenser for detergent. I read the manual and looked online at the Maytag website for common problems. It said that sometimes small clothing gets sucked through the hose and needs to be unclogged. I followed the instructions to fix the problem. It worked fine for about 2 weeks later during the middle of a load the machine would stop and give me error codes. I looked these codes up and now I have another clog on the drain tube that needs to be fixed. Lo and behold these 2 problems have been continuing ever since. I cannot do a load of laundry without getting a code and having to take the machine apart. I called Maytag to explain my situation and the customer service representative said that because I fixed the problem myself at this point there is nothing that can be done. They do not guarantee that their equipment will work nor will they help solve the problem. I cannot believe that we spent so much money on something that I cant use. Not to mention the fact that when I do complete a load some of the clothes are ruined by the machine ripping holes in them. I would not recommend buying a Maytag because they dont care about customer satisfaction or the quality of machines they sell.

Bought this because it’s American made. It seems to be very glitchy. If you don’t use the detergent drawer it always flashes low detergent. The quick wash leaves soap on clothes. It acts up and leaves clothes too wet. No buzzer to tell you when it’s done. Have to hold button for 3 seconds to start. You can’t just hit button and walk away. Then wait for it to sense the load first to make sure it starts. Very expensive model.

3 year old Maytag Washer model MVWX600XW broke. Paid $345.55 for extended warranty. I had to wait 10 days for Appliances Unlimited to fix the washer in Sept. then the washer broke again in November needing 3 more parts including a motor. It took almost 2 weeks for Appliances Unlimited to come to the house, then I have to wait 5 weeks for a new motor to be in stock.

Maytag Centennial 3.4 top-loader was purchased at Home Depot. It has never worked yet. On 4/28/12, the third weekend, I sat home for the servicemen to fix this junk machine. The first two times, the machine didn’t work ten minutes after they left and today they went to the wrong address. I have much more important things to do than to sit around and wait for someone to figure out what is wrong with this machine. It would have been cheaper for me to junk this brand new machine and buy a washer from a company that makes washers that work!

Maytag dishwasher model MDBH949AWW - I purchased a dishwasher thinking I was buying the best (laugh is on me). The date of purchase was 1/18/10, the control panel was replaced on 5-25-11 at no charge. On 10-15-12, the control panel failed again so I was forced to hand wash an entire load of dirty dishes. I used the dishwasher once a week. I am debating if it is worth it to repair it or replace it, in light of the fact that it could go out again the next year. Wish I had found this website before I made the purchase.

Bought a Maytag Stainless Steel kitchen stove to upgrade my appliance before retirement. 14 months later the spring loaded hinge failed. A bad piece of engineering in the way of a retainer pin to hold the spring pressure tore out of its pressed metal hole. The hollow pin was fastened in place by a 3 fluted punch instead of with a proper rivet with a head. My local parts supplier had 10 on hand so you know they are aware of this. $70 and an hours labor and it is repaired. My local seller said, Too bad you didnt get the extended warranty. So much for Maytag dependability.

Purchased a Maytag Dryer, Washer and Oven Range in December 2011. Both washer and oven were serviced within 1 year under warranty. The dryer stopped working in August 2013, not under warranty. Total cost to repair is $450. Called Maytag to see if they could reduce the repair cost, answer... NO. Maytag spends millions of dollars in advertising... Built Strong to Last Long but they cant spend several hundreds to keep customers. Will never buy a Maytag, Whirlpool, KitchenAid or any other related company product ever. Their motto should be Built Weak to Last Weeks.

We got our Maytag dishwasher in 2011. Weve experienced a lot of the same problems other people have mentioned. Control Panel was the first thing to go out. Now it has a foul odor coming from it and it doesnt get the dishes clean. The heating coil has stopped working and is rusting. This dishwasher is junk and Im very disappointed. I will never buy Maytag again nor any company related to them.

I have a Maytag refrigerator - the kind with the French doors with the freezer in the bottom and then the middle drawer is now leaking water all over my hardwood floors. This is ridiculous. Maytag better get off their butt. They need to send people out or send letters to people that have these freezers to fix them. When you pay a lot for something they should get a good product. If there a recall they should of send out letters or something.

This machine (Maytag Bravos XL) was in our new house and is relatively new. It is the worse machine I have ever owned. I am 58 and cant reach the bottom of the tub to get clothes out. It doesnt fill with enough water to clean the clothes, and repeatedly I have my clothes coming out dirty. I have had to rewash clothes to get them clean at all. Or they come out with grime all over them. I had both a LG and Samsung front loaders in the past, if I could afford it I would throw this Maytag out on the curb! Its a piece of junk.

Thank all of you for saving me. I was about to buy a Maytag with bottom freezer from Home Depot. No wonder they are marked down an additional 20% off their sale price.
