Maytag washer was bought May 2010 with an extended warranty, which expired May 2014. This machine was used by two people with average wash loads. Five months later the machine computer programming didnt work and the machine sounded like a jet taking off. Whirlpool said a one-year warranty would cost $329! This would have been less expensive than a new machine, but I felt I couldnt trust having it repaired. A repairman very familiar with Maytag products said he had three service calls the same day with similar complaints for the Bravos 300 series. He told me the bearings were bad and the cost to fix was not worth the money and this machine should have been recalled. I bought another brand and will not buy Maytag again. When my new machine was delivered, there was grease on the floor from the Maytag.

I bought my Maytag in 2013. It worked fine at first but for the last year it isnt getting clothes clean. In fact, some look like theyve never been washed. I have to run the rinse cycle 2-3 times and they still seem somewhat soapy. The washer still leaves clothes drippy after running the spin cycle. It takes 2-3 hours to complete a small load. I wish I had my old Kenmore back. It worked fine for nearly 20 years!

Purchased Maytag Model MVWB865GW0 Ser# **, had it ONE year, circuit board and switch have gone bad, will not turn to change the type of wash cycle and the lid will not lock, which makes the washing machine not start to wash. Contacted Maytag to request a service call, per the service team the circuit board will cost $300, plus a switch $75 and Labor $100 plus tax. We will be better off buying a new washing machine! We should not have this high cost within ONE year of purchasing! Will not purchase a Maytag again!

Went from an old simple Maytag to newer model, but still somewhat basic compared to others. However still getting used to the water saver feature in that getting in the right amount of detergent as not to have it set on my clothes and having to put through another rinse cycle and a more slimmer agitator. But do like the Maytag brand.

Bought a nice looking Maytag fridge 2 years ago. For the past 6 months it has been leaking all over the kitchen floor. Most recently it has started leaking every 2 days. It is so frustrating as well as extremely dangerous! Both my younger kids have slipped and fell because of the slippery floor. We now have to keep a towel there all the time.Please let me know if there is a product recall. Not the Maytag we used to have. My parents bought all their Maytag appliances when they got married and they lasted over 30 years! This is why I bought the Maytag fridge... not sure of the quality now.

Maytag top load 300 series washer - This is the worst washer I have owned! It does not wash items- especially sheets - without getting totally tangled up and twisted! I wish I had my old one back that lasted 20+ years. I will NEVER buy another.

I love my Maytag washing machine. It have different settings for the wash, also a size load for your washing, and I love the rain cycle. You could do single runs with Downy or extra runs which is great. Especially great if you’re doing blankets and towels you need that extra rains. Great reliable machine. Highly recommended.

Constantly does not clean clothes, always out of balance, codes constantly come up, only 2 1/2 years old and already rusting out. No matter what you do this washer does not want to work. Has special cycles for bulky loads but try to wash 7 towels and it will dance all over floor then shut down with an unbalanced code and you have to unplug to reset then wash towels again but not use spin and have to wring out towels by hand. I cannot believe the Maytag company has not recalled this very expensive pile of junk, and their service department is very rude and not helpful at all.Also as soon as you call an appliance repair company and tell them its a Maytag Bravos they say we do not fix those, do yourself a favor and junk it and buy any other brand. I have 3 kids now grown so we have bought about 5 washers over the years and when we saw that this was supposed to save water and energy and do bigger loads we were sold. Big mistake! Whatever you do never buy any appliance from Maytag. Products are garbage, service is nonexistent, and the cost will make you boil.

Maytag washing machine exploded sending glass shrapnel everywhere. At this point I believe Maytag should replace the machine. I appreciate after MANY hours on hold and being transferred that you are sending a repair person out, but there is tiny glass shrapnel all over inside. This is crazy, and a MAJOR safety concern.??? Update - can’t find parts or an eta. Replace the machine!

I sold my 20 year old Maytag set and upgraded to this Maytag Bravos washer. This machine takes almost 1 hour to do a load and they come out dirty. Only way to get clean is to set on bulky sheet which uses twice as much water as old machine. This unit should have never been put on the market.

On 7/8/11, the non-freezer part of the refrigerator failed to cool to needed temperature. This fridge is model MI TXEMMWWOO, with serial no EY4705715, purchased on 7/13/10 at Home Depot.We contacted Maytag and were told to wait until Monday. On Monday, we were told that a serviceman would be out on Thursday, the 14th. On Wednesday, the 13th, the serviceman called to inform us that he would come the next day and that he would have to collect for the call. Since the fridge was still under warranty, we demurred.We went to Home Depot for advice. They called Maytag, and after an hour of getting the runaround, we were told that the serviceman would come on the 19th and that the call would be covered by the warranty.On the 18th, the serviceman called with the same message as before: he would have to collect the charges for the service call. Another trip to Home Depot led to the advice to activate the extended warranty at this point.Under the extended warranty, the serviceman came on the 21st, had to order a new part, and finally installed the new part on the 29th, three weeks after the misery began, and after spoiled foods, many bags of ice, and great inconvenience.We have other Maytag appliances, but this purchase has been a cruel lesson in Maytags lack of product quality, deceptive warranty practice, and indifference to consumer satisfaction.

The bearings and motor went out in less than 3 years. The warranty good - the dealer I purchased from Siano Appliance gave me credit to purchase another Maytag washer - which I had to purchase an additional warranty for $320. The new Maytag is less than 5 months old - the motor has been replaced and waiting on a tech now to fix it. It would not come on. SO in warranties I have paid over $640 and am still having issues with the new washer. The first time I purchased a warranty for 10 year - when the machine was replaced I had to purchase another warranty for that machine - now if I have to replaced this one that will be an additional $320. IS this legal?

Bought va washer. Trying to upgrade. Water fills about 1/3 of way even on bulky setting. Supposed to be high efficiency. Detergent does not get all the way out because there is no enough water. Have to put it through 2 rinse cycles. Worst machine. Design is flawed. Clothes all wrinkled. I cant afford to buy clothes and have them ruined. Man must have designed. Hate the washer. Im poor and they want take it back... want my money back. I cant buy washer every day. I will keep on complaining. No customer service. People just put you off. It is a Centennial high efficiency. A piece of junk.

I purchased a Maytag Bravos XL washer mid November 2013. Less than six weeks later it leaked water. The repair person has been to repair it four times. The last visit was yesterday. It now has more problems than it originally had. It still leaked water. Maytag does not stand by what they sell. All they say is they will repair it. My caution to anyone reading this is never buy a Maytag appliance. I hope this review helps someone in their decision making process.

On my 3rd circuit board for a MDB7749SBMO MODEL dish washer. The people at Maytag are people that wont even talk to you about it. How many people have to complain before theres a recall on a faulty ribbon cable.

We bought the Maytag washer from Home Depot on 5/4/2011 and it quit working on about 7/2014. We had a repairperson look at it and he said the drive transmission is worn out. He recommended that we buy a different machine since the part does not hold up since the part is made out of a plastic fiber material that does not show up. We bought the Maytag because we thought they had good products but a 3 year life on a wash machine is not acceptable. It is installed at our cabin so we only use it part of the year on limited bases.

I bought this washer about 6 months ago and I seem to get clothes that just arent clean and have marks on my dress pants and my whites are awfully dingy. Never have I ever had white things that didnt stay white. I honestly would never buy this type of washer again. I am actually hoping that there is a way to at least change the water level. Also I hate the fact that I cant add bleach to the water before the clothes and to let the bin fill and mix correctly. I dont think the bleach even gets to the clothes.

Purchase of what we thought was high quality Maytag dishwasher. Paid $600 and $250 to get it installed, which was really just to take out the old dishwasher we wish now we had kept, and plug in the new one. Called lawyer who has class action suit now against Maytag, Eppsteiner & Florica. They are not representing customers who live in Canada, only U.S.My recommendation to Maytag dealer who only sells Maytags, Haleys Maytag of Antigonish, Nova Scotia, find another company to represent. Maytag is a real loser. Never again purchase a Maytag, and I told 10 people who will tell 10 people... who will tell 10 people. Our model number... same as all of yours... the loser MDB6709AWW1. Dont waste your money buying this overpriced dishwasher that will then require you to spend more money every 2 years on a Control panel and Key pad that are defective from the factory.

First we design the cheapest, flimsiest drawer possible on the bottom of the stove. Then we mount it on cheap plastic guides on a flimsy metal track. What a joke! Listen, drawers have been around over 700 years. If you cant do better than that, you need to look for another line of work.

This washer has a fault with certain types of blankets. Parts of these blankets come out shredded. We end up replacing these blankets. Other than this problem, the washer has worked fine.

I called Maytags customer service about an over the range microwave that was bought 2 years ago and barely used. The mechanism in the microwave on the latch for the door, clicked into the body of the unit and therefore the door does not register closed which doesnt allow it to come on. After explaining this issue to the customer service rep, she insisted that the only thing that Maytag would stand behind was the part if needed. A service call would be between $100 - $150. The microwave isnt even that old and why would Maytag not stand behind a like new unit? I bought 3 Maytag products and I am now regretting it. I had asked to speak to a supervisor and she just proceeded to repeat the same thing the sales rep did. They will only cover the cheap part if needed.What happened to Maytag being top of the line? Apparently they dont care about standing behind their products and would rather you buy an expensive extended warranty to cover their cheaply made appliance. I think they should be under review as a company. I would somewhat understand paying if my appliance was 5 to 10 years old. But its basically new. How is there no protection for customers when it comes to purchasing lemons from an appliance dealer? I write this as the repairman is fixing my Neptune washer. As with many other complaints, I was experiencing the awful mold smell with the only fix being leaving the washer door open when not in use. This works but for the past few years a switch on the front broke which means we have had to leave the top off the washer and rig it every time we used it. Sometimes it would work and sometimes an error code would show and I would have to just turn to spin and finish that way. At the same time in 2005, I purchased all Maytag appliances. First the microwave went out then the ice maker broke and is still broken, then the dishwasher went out and had to be replaced. Washer broke so basically the only thing that has had no issues is the oven and all happened just outside the five-year warranty. Never again will I buy Maytag.

I purchased a Maytag dishwasher (Model MDB7809AWWI) in Sept. of 2009. In 2010 and 2011, it had dead control panels. The first time, it was under warranty. The second time, it was not, and I purchased a costly service plan to have it repaired. Now, 2012, its dead a third time. Maytag tried to tell me that I could purchase another plan for $289. I informed them that for that cost, I can replace it with a dishwasher that doesnt require costly service plans and yearly repairs. They informed me that their parts only have a 30-day warranty. If theyre not willing to stand behind their products enough to admit that one is faulty, then Im not willing to stand behind them as a company.

We purchased a MDB8949SAW dishwasher in 2013. 1 month after the warranty expired the touch buttons went on it. If you selected normal it would opt for something else like rinse only. We researched online and my husband followed instruction online to take the door off and seal the moisture to prevent this from happening. This worked for about 2 months and now back to the same thing. We paid $500 for this and just living with the problem for now. All we can do is warn others.

We purchased the Maytag Bravos MCT in July 2017. Just passed the 1 year warranty and the glass door just shattered. No reason for it really other than it must have been defective. Nothing dropped on it and it wasnt cold or hot in the room. I got nothing. Maytag said they didnt know why it would happen, and would have to send service tech out. A lid for this type of washer alone is $200-$300. Buyer beware. Dont get a glass top loader.

New side by side, water inlet to ice always freezes. Had a service man out, said some tube needed to be enlarged but still freezes up.The ice dispenser is total junk. Keeps spitting out ice after glass is removed and just a poor design. Dont recommend this brand.

This dishwashers start button stopped working after 1 1/2 years. We did not buy the Extended service warranty. So we are responsible for the service call and the replacement of the control panel. Ridiculous. I called Maytag to file a complaint and they never returned my call. I will NEVER buy Maytag again. There are enough problems posted to know better. This company should be ashamed!!!

I also am the unfortunate owner of a Maytag dishwasher Quiet Series 300. I bought it in April 2006. The control panel has been a problem since the first year of operation. Typically, one of the indicator lights would randomly go on and off during the machines off mode. At other times, the control panel would not operate. However, if I waited a few hours, it would dry out, enough and then would operate. Apparently, steam leaks into the control panel and causes it to be erratic. This has been a problem with this design for many years and the Maytag Corporation has not cared enough about its customers to correct the design flaw. I remember when the name Maytag indicated a top of the line product. Sadly, this is no longer the case. As a result, my loyalty to them has ceased.I probably will not buy another Maytag product again. Their standards have eroded.

Horrible machine. Uses too little water, cycles are too long. No matter what the size of the load, it takes an hour. Just after 3 years the bearing went out on the machine. Cost for repair will be $250. Thats not even an electronic problem which Im sure would be next. NO THANKS. Im getting a new machine and it wont be a Maytag.

We bought a Maytag dishwasher 4 years ago, we had to have it serviced a few months after purchase for the soap & rinse agent dispenser not working, then a few months after warranty was up the buttons on machine wouldnt work, the control panel failed so we had to pay for a new one and install it... Well last night exactly one year from the install of the new control panel I walked into my kitchen to find it full of smoke and the dishwasher pour out smoke, when my husband came home he took the door off and sure enough the control panel was burnt and melted! Very scary. It is a very good thing I was home and this is why I never leave appliances running if I am not home.

We bought a Maytag refrigerator. Big big mistake. It bangs, makes all kinds of noises. The bottom freezer has ice that builds up once in a while, has to be unloaded and thawed out. We have had several service calls and they do not know whats wrong. Trouble started about a month out of warranty. Called Maytag and they would not do anything. WE are very disappointed in Maytag. We spent more money to get a good product and ended up with junk. We are getting rid of it and buying one that is made by a company that knows what they are doing.

Like most people with this Bravos machine, I am 3 months out of warranty and the ball bearing is trash. When the wash goes into spin cycle, it makes a loud clicking noise and takes a few minutes to start spinning. I called service repair and he told me that it was the ball bearing and to talk with them as he has dealt with quite a few high end machines from Maytag that are breaking down after warranty. I should have realized there was a problem when we kept coming up with white spots on our clean laundry and would have to re-rinse clean clothes. This kind of defeats the water saver that is advertised with the machine.Do not buy this product. For a high end washer and dryer, there are many problems. Maybe that is why the Maytag guy is not shown sleeping in commercials any longer. Hes too busy fixing all these machines. Btw, they wont cover the part even though I offered to pay for the service. The best they can do is give me 25% off. Yippee! I cant wait for the other problems to hit me like everyone else.

We had perfectly working 20 year old top loading white Whirlpools w/ an agitator, when we remodeled our home and wanted new pretty grey appliances and decided to donate our machines to the church. I chose Maytag top loading due to their former reputation we experienced with dishwashers, etc. It had an agitator, deep fill option, extra rinse, etc. The sales person at Home Depot stated, the agitator is because people like you still want the agitator, and the deep fill will give you the water you have been used to. Not so at all!!Clothes get wound up together, even with filling the wash tub in bundles, there is almost NO water to thoroughly clean & the rinse cycle is a joke. Clothes do NOT come out clean. Im 58 yrs. old and have been doing laundry since I was 13 so I know what I am doing. Its just my husband and I now, and he is so upset that his clothes are pilling probably from rubbing together, even though I occasionally use laundry bags. I seriously wish I would have saved my money and kept the 2 perfectly working whirlpool units I had. This has been such a disappointment. I sincerely would not buy these.P.S. Weve had service out at least 5 times in the last year, and all they do is test the washer and tell us its working as intended... The last thing that is going to happen is we are going to get refunded for a different set, even though we were educated over and over what it would do by Home Depot associates. We are heartbroken. Maytag is going to lose their former reputation on these washers a dryers :( There is simply not enough water to clean or rinse things!

Here is my question, this failure mode is obviously a designed in feature providing planned obsolescence to the device. Why is this company not being held to account for the damages in this case? Are all the judges that bought that no suit can be brought?Have all of you contacted your state consumer protection organizations regarding this issue? I would also recommend that you write both your state senator, the state consumer protection organization and any media outlets you can think of. High rate of control panel failure, devices activating by themselves when people are potentially away from the house, risk of fire or flooding... these are serious things and I would think a story that some news organization would surely be interested in digging into. Now that would serve to light a little fire under the Maytag organization if something like that was to occur.This sure seems to me to be a defrauding of the consumer - selling them a product at the top end of the price range that has such a significant design flaw that in the end can only be considered not fit for purpose. I havent yet contacted Maytag and Home Depot (who I believe are fully complicit in this as well), but I will be doing so to give them a chance to make this right, which I fully expect them to decline to do. Then I will begin writing letters. Am also considering small claims court. But above all, do not just accept this and move on! Companies like this need to be held to account, and they need to be reported so that others purchasing new devices in the future know to stay away from them.

I have had to replace the control panel on my Maytag Dishwasher 2 times in the last 4 years I have owned it. I diagnosed the problem using the serviceman repair manual which is located on the kick plate or lower plate for panel of your dishwasher. This is not one of the dishwashers that is listed on the recall list, but it is on the dishwashers list that Maytag suggested that you buy to replace your dishwasher that is on the recall list. I bought a Maytag Bravos from Home Depot back for around $1000 in Nov. 07. After 3 yrs, the whole tub assembly had to be replaced but I had bought a warranty so that was taken care of but it was out of service for about 2 months while I waited for parts. Now every time I use it, I get the OL on the control panel and it wont spin without getting out of control and stopping. Washers in the past have lasted me at least 15 yrs and cost less than half that much. I will never buy another Maytag ever. This is what happens when companies merge and quality is no longer important. I think the stock market ruins companies. Im currently looking for the best quality, large capacity washer on the market. I will pay more for quality but thats what I thought last time.

I purchased a Maytag Legacy Series Quiet Series 300 in early July 2010. It had a recall for a heater part that could potentially burn down my house, so we couldnt use it while we waited for that part to be replaced. They offered me a small sum of money towards the purchase of a much more expensive dishwasher which I declined since Id only had the dishwasher a few months at the most. It is now the end of August 2011, a month past their factory warranty. The dishwasher did not get my dishes clean, made awful grinding noises and three days ago, it refused to drain and then spewed 50 or more gallons of water all over my kitchen which then leaked into the basement. The repairman charged $85 to tell me that the computer in the control panel had burned out and was not fixable. I think I paid somewhere in the region of $500 for this machine. My last dishwasher lasted about ten years. This is completely unacceptable. In searching the internet, I found hundreds, if not thousands of identical complaints. Clearly, this machine is a lemon and Maytag should be forced to replace it or better yet, refund the money spent to purchase the machine. Plus, pay for my valuable time spent mopping up water, washing dishes by hand, searching the internet for probable cause and potential solutions, waiting for Maytag/Home Depot to respond to my inquiries and a large sum for general annoyance. Maytag had a reputation of reliability (emphasis on had). Theyve got some slick ads but they do not stand behind their products at all. I will never by another Maytag product and I urge you to do the same.

Maytag MDBH979SAM1 w/ Steam - I purchased this dishwasher Jan 2014 as a scratch or dent at the Sears Outlet. The dishwasher worked great until 4-5-2015. About 3 months after the warranty ran out I called Sears and asked if there was any extended warranty coverage since I used the Sears card. They said No, but recommended I call MasterCard since my card had the MC emblem. MC says that they do extend the warranty up to 12 months. I just filed a claim and hopefully will get a paid for repair. So, if you used a credit card, you may have a warranty extension like me. Check it out. 2 stars because the dishwater is a great unit except for the control board. What a shame Maytag.

I didnt want something from Sears due to horrible experiences with them. Maytag is very reliable and the cost was reasonable. They fit in the small space available for washer and dryer. They have all the features I need. The only complaint I have about the dryer is that for some reason if the load is small, it takes longer to dry than with a full load. I have had them for about 5 years now. I expect a washer and dryer to work correctly every time. If its poor construction I would not buy it. I also expect an appliance to last many years with proper maintenance.

I have a two year old version of this dishwasher (MDB894995BB3) and now the start and cancel light on the control panel stopped working. I now see that this is a common theme with this model and I feel it is their obligation to repair these units with permanent fix and not the same thing that will fail again. I have 3 different Maytag appliances all bought 2 years ago from Home Depot and they are all broken. I will never buy a Maytag product again. I might replace this dishwasher as I know it will fail again. 2 years on a dishwasher is a complete failure. Unreliable Junk. Do not buy Maytag.

Maytag washer not draining properly. Called Aug 15 for help. First tech in on August 23, makes a diagnosis, orders part; no news, I call, am given Sep 15 as next date. Come 9/15, I take off from work, only to find out tech cannot come that day, to reschedule. Next tech comes 9/25 with a different diagnosis and different part to order. By October 3, an announcement that part came in, to make an appointment. By now, its been a month and a half, I am so angry. I call a friend, who fixes it in 15 minutes by simply clearing a clogged drain filter. This is unacceptable: the inordinate wait, incompetent techs, unresponsiveness from customer service. I cancelled my contract with Maytag Warranty/AIG.

We have had this refrigerator (Maytag Side By Side Refrigerator with Ice Dispenser 27 CU) for 5 years this month and have already had to have it serviced once and now the ice dispenser just went out. I wish there was a brand out there that did not have problems and when problems occur, you do not get the runaround to get them fixed!

My husband and I bought a Maytag dishwasher, Stove and Fridge. We were very reluctant because at our prior home we had Maytag appliances and they kept going out. Against our better judgement when we moved into our new home we decided to go with Maytag once again. First the dishwasher front panel stopped working. We had it replaced and it cost over 250.00 with replacement part and labor. Not a week later went by when our Fridge went out, that cost us another 300.00 plus to fix. Keep in mind we had only had these appliances for about 14 months. Less than a year of replacing the dishwasher panel it has gone out again. This is very frustrating and expensive. I dont usually write comments, but felt the public needed to know that Maytag has poorly made appliances. I recommend you spend the extra couple of hundred bucks and buy the better brands and warranties. Thank you.

Bought a new home in July of 2016 and the builder had included a Maytag Bravos XL washer and dryer. They are THE WORST performing appliances I have ever used! I will replace as soon as I have the means to do so. DO NOT PURCHASE the Maytag Bravos XL appliances. The engineers that designed them should be fired! The washing machine makes an incredibly loud noise (like an old starter grinding in a 50s car). Im told that this is normal for the machine. Does NOT clean well and leaves soap spots on dark clothes... leaves them on light clothes but I cannot see them. Whites come out dingy even with bleach. The tub is so deep that I have to use tongs to get out smaller items, I am 53 tall and have never had this issue before. Soap dispenser drawer wont stay closed during wash cycle. Clothes are so badly tangled during the wash cycle that it is hard to describe the wrinkled mess that has to go into the dryer.Dryer issues: Very loud. Very wobbly and unstable, and yes, it has been leveled 3 times. Bed linens have to be separated at least 3 times during the drying cycles because they twist and wad up into big, wet knots of cloth. Infuriating!!! Dry time is very long unless you wish to cook your clothes. So disappointed in this product. Total rubbish!!

I hate this machine: Maytag bravo xl washer. Clothes come out extremely wrinkled, drum so deep can barely reach bottom on my tip toes & Im 57 & clothes dont come out clean. I cant wait to replace it!!! Why are clothes so wrinkled, I want to hang dry things & everything has to be ironed.

I agree with everyone else on here. I would give this Maytag Neptune washer less than 1 star if I could. I also purchased this washer 5 years ago when I bought a new house. According to their commercials, the Maytag repairman is bored because their products are so great. I believe it is because the cost to fix their merchandise when it breaks costs so much.I had a 5-year warranty on my purchase and this washer started making this awful noise but the company wouldnt repair it because it was not broken. However, here I am less than 5 months later, and the bearings are so bad, the tube is scraping and falling apart and leaving plastic pieces in my clothes. I have a 3 year old I dont need plastic pieces in my clothes. You know my husband just left me and I do not have the money to spend on the repair ($500-700) nor have the money to spend on a new washer. Thanks Maytag for your great and wonderful service!

I purchased this oven about 6 months ago. This is my second Maytag oven which I had for 18 years. I am extremely disappointed in the quality of this oven. I did my homework and shopped around and chose another Maytag. First, the ignitor clicks and clicks but doesnt ignite. After 4-5 times I have to shut the oven off and restart it. But worse than that is the enamel on top. The quality is HORRIBLE. You cannot use anything but a soapy sponge to clean the top. With my last oven I was able to use anything (softscrub, ajax, the scrubber side of a sponge) and the top was shiny clean. My stove top is covered with scratches and is not even thoroughly clean. There are grease spots around the burners that if I scrub any harder Ill take the enamel off completely. Very, very poor quality. Will never buy another Maytag.

Have had this side by side for a long time and it is great. Have not had any problems with it. Also have had an Amana which we love as well. These are side by side and are frost free and never have to clean.

Like other reviewers, I am having issues regarding the control board panel for MAYTAG Dishwasher Model Number MDB7749SAM0. The unit was less than 3 yrs old when the control board panel malfunction issue began. I feel like this is a manufacturing defect and the company should be responsible for repairing/replacing the control board panel. I contacted Maytag numerous times regarding this, but customer service continues to tell customers there is NO warranty after one year from purchase date, and they are saying there is no recall or other reported issues regarding the Maytag’s control board at this time. However, I have found numerous online complaints and reviews about the very same issue I am having and same poor customer service. Since MAYTAG does not seem to care about their customer’s concerns regarding their product breaking in I feel that the only solution is DO NOT PURCHASE MAYTAG dishwasher brand again. I have had other brands last much much longer than this one did.

I wish we would have never bought this brand and model. Within a month there was a loud banging and the serviceman came out and changed a valve out but it just got a little quieter but never went away. 2nd issue is cloths ball up when your doing bedding. Not sure if they are really clean or not. 3rd when we take the cloths out of the washer we are still seeing soap spots where they were not rinsed very well. We are using the right soap Gain but we cannot wash cloths in the bedding setting. We have to use the extra rinse setting to get all the soap out which defeats the whole savings issue of this machine. It says when you do your monthly machine cleaning it resets the water level but there never seems to be enough water in the tub. Also if your doing sheets in the washer and when the spin cycle starts you have to hold your breath to see if its going to get out of balance which it does 50% of the time so you stop and move things around. Also we cannot put a whole lot of cloths into this big drum because they dont wash correctly. Worst purchase we ever made. With all the negative reviews you would think that Maytag would come out with some fixes but I dont think they really care anymore.

I purchased Maytag gas range in March 2011 at Home Depot, Model No. MGR5605WWO. I received the product in May 2011. The porcelain on the grates chips away leaving large grooves in grate, which affects cooking efficiency, (the fire burns erratically). First, I called 1-800-688-9900. The grates were replaced. And then same problem, it was replaced again, and again the same problem. The warranty to cover stove was extended by 6 months. The enamel on the round magnetic cover for the burner is also chipping away. I was told that this chipping of the enamel is a cosmetic problem and does not affect the functionality of the stove problem.A repair technician was sent out at my request to see firsthand the problem grates. I was told by him that if it occurred again, the manufacturer needs to be made aware of the defective grates. He noted that the enamel covering on the grates was not uniform. I have been told by Maytag supervisor today that she will get back to me within 3-5 days and let me know what is going to be done. I have had gas ranges before, but this is the first time this problem has occurred and its continuation is unacceptable. Is there anything further I can do to ensure I have stove grates that do not chip continuously?

Because of the power of advertising, we replaced every appliance in our home in 2005 with Maytags. Since then, weve had minor problems with the stove and dryer, many problems with the dishwasher and washing machine, and complete failure of two Maytag microwaves, the last one was only two years old. The washing machine failures resulted in major flood damage two separate times due to two separate failures. Our refrigerator, model MBB2256GEW, has yet to let us down, however, since new it makes loud snapping noises that wake us up at night. It sounds like someone banging two large sticks together. Fortunately, I can repair most of these issues when they arise, but Id much rather get some rest like the Maytag repair man...

Washer sounds like gearing is broken, is noisy during operation, various combinations of options dont work, appearance of only one agitation cycle combination on washer, just many settings but all with the same response; dryer does not timely dry clothes, all settings default to the same palpable heat temperature; clothes take much longer to dry in new dryer than they did in old Maytag. Newer Maytag set appears to be secondhand garbage sold as new by Menards. Company unresponsive to complaints.

I have owned three different Maytag washer/dryer sets. The reason for so many? Selling the set with the house upon moving. I kept my last set which is Bravo. I love Maytag for their features, their dependability, their reputation. I have never had repairs on any of them. Totally awesome! My second set had a neat feature of a drying rack where you could place a sweater or shoes and no tumbling. Sorry I sold that set w/ the house. I am very pleased w/ my present set of Bravo. No agitator. A coworker also bought this set. Maytag is the best!

I contacted Maytag, and they claimed to know of NO issues with this fridge. I told them its all over the internet, many others with the same fridge and same problem. Anybody up for a class action?

I bought a Maytag dishwasher less than two years ago. The Maytag repairman just informed me that the control panel, the control board and the harness were burnt and needed to be replaced with parts costing over $300. I said, No, thanks. I paid him the $99 service call fee and called Maytag to see if they would help. Nope, they pretty much said, tough luck.

We have a Maytag dishwasher that came with the house we purchased in 2012. Im not sure of the exact age but the former owner said it was a relatively new installation. The appliance works very well; cleans well. Just a couple of things of concern. First, it is really noisy. The fact that we can very clearly hear it running in the adjacent room does not speak well for it in this regard. The other things that has occurred is that rusting is evident on the trays of the dishwasher. One of the upright pieces has already broken off due to rust and two others are close to coming apart very soon. Nothing sharp is placed in those areas that are coming apart so there would be nothing remarkable to disturb the plastic coating on the wire racks. I can only conclude that the plastic coating was defective at the start; hence the rusting at the base of the upright pointing racks. That said, it does clean well but I dont foresee this unit lasting much longer overall due to the rack damage that is continuing to occur. I would expect the racks to at least last as long as the dishwasher but this does not seem very likely at the rate the racks are deteriorating.

I bought a Maytag refrigerator over the summer - the French door and drawer freezer. Expensive but crappy. After about a month motor starting making noise then is shut down. Called the store. They came and swapped it out and not even two weeks later same thing. Looked up product and all awful reviews. Never thought to look up reviews before purchasing. Could of save myself the headache. Not to mention my daughter was like, Mom stop buying that brand. It sucks. Did you not realize our washing machine is the same brand and after almost two years it started acting up and your last washing machine you had for 10 years before it even gave you any problems.

We moved into a new house and the GE washer died after the first week, then the Whirlpool replacement died after two weeks. Decided to try the Maytag which the store gave us for $50 more than the Whirlpool. It runs like a champ. At least two loads of laundry a day every day and sometimes weekends. Clothes come out perfect, no damage and the machine is quiet.

I bought my Maytag Model LA608 washer in 1976. It has very few electronics and a mechanical timer. It has been used every week since then for 2 or 3 people. It has had 3 problems in its lifetime. I replaced the 2 valves that control the hot and cold water entering the machine. I replaced a small plastic sprayer part. And last year I replaced 3 clamps that rusted and started to leak. Thats it in 40 years. I was able to open up the front and back covers to get at the parts quite easily.It is a simple machine with almost no electronics to stop working. Nothing bothers me about the machine. Its simple and wonderful. When it finally breaks, I will try and find a good sized machine that washes permanent press and regular clothes, has a controller to select hot/cold/warm water temperatures, has a regular and gentle cycle, and has 3 load levels for the water to be used. I will try to find one that is good quality with few electronic parts. I will not buy a high efficiency model that uses less water as I am on a well and water shortage is not a problem where I live. I will not buy a front loading model.I would not buy a machine that has options that I do not need. I would hope to find a quality machine similar to what I have now. I would read as many ratings about the various models before making a selection and then I would cross my fingers and hope for the best. If it is possible, try and find a good quality machine that will be dependable over time. Buy a basic machine with only the options that you really need. There will be fewer parts to stop working.

Maytag Neptune MAH8700AWW and MDE9700AYH Washer and Dryer - Electrical overload to house circuit, multiple water pump replacements (Maytag would not sell rebuild kit with impeller and gasket or seal causing us to have to buy complete water pumps with mounts and motor.), electronic error readouts, odor and mold washing machine. The welds breaking on the drum causing possible fire hazard by filling case up with dryer lint fibers, around the electrical components, and air intake heater and also allowing metal fragments to get imbedded in the familys clothes. Also, Maytag Oversize Capacity Plus Quiet Pack Heavy Duty with Lifetime Tub.

Faulty control board. Have owned a Maytag dishwasher model MDB6769PASI for 2.5 years. The unit started beeping at random times for about a week - then went dead! Sounds like other reported failures and it is unlikely repairs will be permanent! Never again Maytag.

This washing machine has been very reliable.No repairs needed yet. This machine has stood the test of time. We use it at least.. four times a week. Light and heavy loads. It fits in our washroom and budget. Just perfect. I would recommend this brand to everyone.

I bought a Maytag dishwasher (MDB7749SBM) and 1 yr and 4 months the control panel went out and all Maytag would do is tell me that they will pay for the parts, and I have to pay for the labor. I remember when Maytag had the best Warranty on their appliances. I am very disappointing with paying for labor. They also offer an extended plan of $269.00 for a year. What a joke!!!

We purchased a washing machine, top loading washer model MVWC415EW1 on 9/2/2015 and the machine did not work right. 11/2/2015 is stopped working all together. It will not wash the clothes. The repair man says we need a new cold water valve. Maytag says it does not have the part to fix the machine. Period. Now we have a new machine with a 10 year warranty which does us no good as Maytag does not have the parts to fix. So it is back to a laundry mat until we can save enough to buy a new machine from anyone but Maytag .

A 14-month-old cabinet dryer required a new motor. I was promised delivery in 3/4 days. Following several calls, all of which resulted in the delivery date being extended to over eight weeks, the same engineer called to install the new motor. He refused to do it as the surrounding paneling had not been removed to give him access to the cabinet. It took another four days for him to return after we called in our builder to remove the panel--three screws and four-minute work. I asked for the warranty to be extended, by way of recognition of Maytags awful service. My request was rejected out of hand and the reasons do not accord with the chronological evidence I hold. I am about to bring a claim in the local County Court.

Maytag washing machine Model # MHWE500VW - 2 control boards only last 4 years. I paid top dollar, $1229.00 to be exact and the parts and labor are $659.00 with no guarantee that there wont be further problems. Technician told me that this is typical of Maytag products. Contacted Maytag and they told me to take a hike and have a nice day. I will attempt to get some help from the place of purchase, Hamai Appliance, Maui, Hawaii.

I purchased our Maytag dishwasher last November. Last week, the control panel went out. I called customer service and they were actually polite and helpful, except for the fact that I had to wait an entire week to have a technician come to my house. Being that I live in the Balt/DC Metro area, I would have thought they would have enough people in the area to come over faster. Anyhow, we finally had the technician come today and tell us that the control panel needs replaced and that he highly recommends an extended warranty, which costs $200 for 5 years. He let my husband know that the repair itself would cost $500 if not covered by warranty!!! What a ripoff! I purchased this dishwasher because I grew up believing in the Maytag brand. Sounds like this is an extremely common issue and if Maytag wants to make things right, they should discontinue sale of their crap product and provide those of us who are stuck with it, a complimentary 5 year warranty. I shouldnt have to pay $200 in extended warranty to make up for the fact that my control panel is likely to go out again in another year, when Ill be forced to buy a new dishwasher.

Bravos washer purchased Sept. 2016. I purchased the Maytag washer based on experience and reputation. I am so disappointed in this washer. I have had the control board replaced after only 3 months and it vibrates, shakes and is very noisy. It does not fill with enough water and the clothes are tangled at the end of the wash. I will never buy another Maytag.

After researching the top-rated washing machine in consumer reports, we decided to spend the extra cash ($930) and buy the top-rated machine. Spending almost double on a high end machine, you would expect this machine to last longer than three years. The motherboard needs to be replaced because it gets stuck on a UL code near the end of the cycle. Now, we have had two people come try to fix it, and they said to trash it and buy a new one. Only three years! If I had paid $300, I wouldnt be so upset, but that was a total waste of money for it to last less than any machine Ive ever had. How is a consumer supposed to know what a good washing machine is if they spend extra cash for the top-rated machine and that one is still bad? The company should replace something like a motherboard that goes faulty when it had nothing to do with use. So unfair and frustrating.

This will be the third repair of this refrigerator in one year, the same issue of the refrigerator warming up. Water all over the floor due to ice thaw. Also food spoilage. I want another refrigerator at this point. The Maytag repairman is definitely not lonely. He has more business than he can handle with this defective refrigerator. Terrible. Do Not Buy!!

My Maytag has been out of service more than in service and this is my 2nd one in 2 years. They replaced my first one due to breaking down several times. I have spent so much $$ at the laundromat after paying big bucks for a washer.

Purchased a supposedly top-of-the-line Maytag washer and dryer (9000 Series with Steam and MCT-Maytag Commercial Technology; Washer MHWE900VJ). Just under five years of use and the repairman quotes me just over $1000 parts and labor with the overwhelming majority of that quote being parts. No wonder the Maytag repairman is the loneliest guy in town - its not worth fixing your not-yet-5-year-old machine. It kills me that companies are allowed to advertise and promote the quality and reliability of their products and less than 5 years later, the machine is going to the dump, after having paid a premium for quality. This technology was supposedly comparable to what is used in a commercial setting - not very believable in my opinion. No more Maytag or Whirlpool for me.

less than 2 yrs old and has completely failed to operate. We have been patient with this model. It does roll the clothes to point they are wrapped around and among each other and must be pulled apart before placing in dryer. The wash cycle now takes more than 45 minutes, It fails to spin the load often. Now, it has failed to the point it will not operate with or without any clothes in it.

I bought my Maytag Bravos top load washer from Home Depot. In one year. I had the Maytag warranty people out three or four times. The warranty ran out and I purchased an extended warranty from A&E. I have had them out at least five times.I called Maytag and they told me since that I didn’t get the extended warranty from them, that there was nothing they could do for me. I explained to them that this washer cost me over $900 and that I have had numerous repairs on the washer, in which the warranties cost me over $400 so far.How much do I have to keep paying for this lemon? Maytag will not do anything about it! This goes to show you that paying top dollar for a washer does not guarantee you will have a good product. In this economy we can’t afford for this to happen. This is a very bad product and Maytag will not stand behind their own products, but they are willing to charge the consumer high dollar for them. This is a disgrace!

Maytag Neptune Stacked Electric Washer & Dryer. Had to buy a motor for Washer but lasted 12 years before giving problems again; then couldnt find anyone that would service for cheaper than $100 for just coming to your house plus $75 an hour for labor. Thats HIGHER than my billable rate! Rip-off Service & parts charges. Found out it was easier & cheaper to troubleshoot ONLINE myself using FIXYA site and others. Expense for an appliance above what most run ~ 1500 for both units. Plus if it doesnt have or offer a 5-year warranty then something is wrong with the quality! Maytag Neptune Series MLE2000AYW 27 Inch Electric Laundry Center with 3.34 Cu. Ft. Washer Capacity, 4 Wash Cycles and 6.0 Cu. Ft. Dryer Capacity, 3 Dry Cycles: White. Worst part on this model was a WAX MOTOR that they used for the Washer to control the door being closed or open. Next worst DESIGN error was they didnt put a drain hole in the plastic rim seal for the Washer door, that area would build up mold & mildew if you didnt learn to keep Washer door open at all times AFTER a wash. We learned by removing the light bulb! Therefore it was easy for my crew to learn to leave the door open after washing. This model was Energy star certified and had a long life here 12 years. Unfortunately I think they build these things to only last 10 years; then you have to replace them. In years gone by... the 1970s Washing machines and dryers would last 20 years!!

I have called numerous times and the satisfaction is out the window. The MOLD is so bad on the gasket that I can not get it off and it just keeps getting worse. My clothes smell musty even after they are washed. Really fed up... I have had different Maytags for at least 40 years and I will not purchase another one at this point. Apparently your customer service is as bad as some of your machines. My word of mouth is not good advertising for you.

My Maytag dishwasher which is less than 2 yrs old had its control panel and board gone bad. It took almost $400 to fix it. It seems like an ongoing problem and Maytag does not do anything. Great stove for the price. The oven bakes good, the self-cleaning oven is awesome, the top is easy to clean up and regulating the temperature is so easy.

Purchased less than a year ago, Machine stopped working. Approved service company says no error codes visible must be ok. Machine still does not work month later, service again does not show up for call, following month same. Its still in warranty but they claim it is fine. Error code disappear right after popping-up no storage of error codes.. I had to buy small washer to manage home. Really bad choice of product. Will not use this brand again.

I spent over 2000 on a Maytag refrigerator. In less than 5 years, the coolant system has gone out twice! The only response I get is, “We are sorry, but it is 5 years old.” Are you kidding me? I have a 20-year-old fridge in the garage that is still working and I didnt spend over $2k on it! I thought Maytag was the best product out there and it certainly is not. Do not ever buy Maytag.

I bought my Maytag washer thinking that I was buying a quality product. My washer hardly ever can complete a spin cycle without bumping and knocking and then stopping. I have to babysit this washer because we never know if it will complete a cycle or not. The machine is totally level. We have to adjust almost every load just to wash clothes. Sorry Maytag but this washer is crap and I will never buy anything made by Maytag. What a waste of my money.

I purchased Maytag dishwasher Model #MDB7749SBW in November of 2013. The front touch panel no longer works. Everytime I push the selection for wash it automatically jumps to Cancel. This dishwasher is less than 2 years old. I didnt purchase the extended warranty simply because I thought I was purchasing a very reliable product. Lonely Maytag Repairman of old. Ha Ha. I am very disappointed and am telling friends about this and all of the reviews Ive read that are similar complaints. I would never purchase a Maytag product again.

I purchased a small (14.5 cubic feet) refrigerator for my basement from Home Depot on January 26, 2013. It was delivered on January 30, 2013. On February 14, 2013, we found that it was not cooling like it was supposed to. The soft drinks in it were not cold. I called Home Depot and was told I had to call Maytag for a repairman to come out. Since it was so new, I felt it should be replaced. They disagree. The warranty only calls for repair. So a repairman came out on Feb. 19th. He said that it has no freon. He doesnt know why. It could have a leak. It could have leaked out in the warehouse. There is no way to know this. He said another repairman would be out to fix it on the 20th. On the 20th, no one showed up or called. I called the repair company, S & S Appliance of Bessemer. I was told the repairman that I needed is in Montgomery today and the repairman yesterday was told to tell me he would call me. He was told to not tell me someone would be out today. So now, I have to wait until tomorrow for someone else to call me and see when he can fit me in his schedule. I think Maytag has a problem with their refrigerators. I think Home Depot has a problem not standing behind what they sell. I think S & S has a problem with their servicemen. I am not happy with any of these companies and will never buy another Maytag refrigerator or washer, but thats another story.

Maytag Washer over 3 years old. Often problematic not functioning smoothly! Maytag invented this defective machine to intentionally rob the customer with all the probs that comes with it - poor design & quality, & not logistically programmed! I have had the Maytag Bravos washer since November 2010. This washer does not clean clothes. They are never even submerged in water. Had I known this, I would never have purchased it. The salesman at Sears surely didnt mention it. I remember being disappointed at the fact that there wasnt a washer in the place with an agitator. I am disgusted with the washer and the company. I realized that it has been over 12 months since we purchased it, but most people do not feel the need to investigate what is going on under the lid of their washer. I unfortunately assumed that the washer was going to wash! Silly me. No, it does a little spin spin and a little spritz of water (literally, thats it) and at the end, you are left with funk concentrated in the creases of your twisted up, stinky clothes. No agitator plus no water equals no clean! The smell is awful. Someone else described it best - a mildewy basement.Anyone else who is claiming that their clothes do not stink with this machine are surely being deceived by strong perfumes in their detergent and fabric softener. To get a true idea of what their clothes really smell like, they should wash a few times with a scoop of borax and no fabric softener. Then tell us how they smell. I am convinced that the entire line of HE washers is a sophisticated line of crap! They use such small amounts of detergent because that little bit of water going into it will not get any more soap out, much less sweat, dirt and lots of other nasty stuff. This may not be a big deal to other people, but it is huge to me. We have a small homestead. Our clothes get dirty. We spent several hundred dollars of hard earned money on a name we trusted and they do not care.Every load, every day, I am reminded of this fact and it infuriates me. Im not typically one to write in complaints, but as an American citizen where there is a free market (somewhat), I have an obligation. If a product is really good, the makers deserve my praise. Likewise, if the product is really bad, the makers (and refuses to compensate in any way) deserve my complaint, as do my hardworking fellow Americans shopping around for a new washer. Stay away from Maytag and if at all possible, stay away from HE machines. It is so true that they dont make them like they used to.PS: Maytag tried to blame this issue on government regulation when I called. Im sick of this passing the buck. I am fully aware of the chokehold government regulations have on business, but they only hurt small business. To act as if this is not a partnership between the government and big business (like Maytag) only adds insult to injury. Take a look at the money spent lobbying by this company. Disgusting. The good news is, any success they currently enjoy will not last.

We used our previous Maytag washing machine for about 15 years without any problems. But this machine on the first try was a big disappointment because it did not wash clothes very well. Clothes come out of washing machine smelling bad and you could see the soap scum on darker clothing. We try to return the machine to Home Depot after 3 days, but they said after 48 hours they could not take it back. So if there was any problems we had to call a technician to repair it. Well, there is nothing to repair because thats just the way the machine is designed to conserve water.Worst washer and the customer service is even worse than this machine because they just keep repeating that if there is nothing to repair then, there is no problem. So, therefore its not their responsibility. TERRIBLE!!! I even bought their extended warranty and that doesnt do anything with dissatisfaction on this product. If you are owner of this company or at least care about your company, you should stop making this kind of product, and listen to peoples complaints!!! What a waste of our hard earned money in this bad economy!!!

The washer stopped and displayed F51. It had that growling, horrible sound like it was dying. After restarting and trying everything, including going back to Lowes to see if a serviceman could fix it, with no luck, and father reading all the reviews on the F51 error and all of the displeased customers we divided after two years on a $900.00 machine, we would tear it apart and fix it ourselves! If possible and if not, what are we losing? Nothing! What we found was clothing between the outer casing and the drum preventing it from spinning. Unfortunately, we did not know how to get to them. With a lot of effort, we got the leggings out that was causing the drum not to spin. I am sure there is a lot more socks and a pair of fairy wings that I never found after Halloween in there. If there is anyone out there who knows how to get the outer casing off of the drum, please let me know. After removing the tights, I no longer have the error code F51 and my washer now works. I just wanted everyone with F51 error code to know it goes away after removing the clothing that gets stuck between the drum and the outer plastic casing around the drum.

After two years of dealing with this awful washer, I felt compelled to write a review. I have had $50 rebuilt washing machines, as well as new ones from the bargain aisle. They worked very well for us. But when it was time to purchase a new one, we wanted a washer with a larger capacity and ended up with this boobie prize. Honestly, whoever designed this washing machine should be ashamed. I cannot believe it made it past the testing stage! Blankets and quilts roll into a ball and never get clean, detergent gets trapped inside this ball of doom, the simplest dirt on clothes survive the cycles, and forget trying to clean stains. I scrub them out, then use the rinse cycle. JUST AWFUL!!! Honestly, this is THE WORST and most disappointing purchase I have ever made. Stay away from it.

Three years ago, we purchased a gas Maytag double oven, it worked fine for three years, then it blew the breaker. When we turned the power back on, we could not turn the oven off. The control panel had to be replaced, dinner too. We had bought the extended warranty, so that was covered. Last week, after four months, it happened again. We placed an oven thermometer inside the oven and it is was higher than the maximum temperature of 600 which the thermometer could measure. We are currently awaiting a new control panel. Maytag used to be a good name, but recommend you to buy something else.

This Maytag (Whirlpool) model MDB7749SBMI dishwasher was purchased 10/28/13 at Home Depot. That makes it 2 1/2 years old to date. It has been a good dishwasher up until now. A few weeks ago I noticed it was doing something wonky. First of all it was not responding its usual way when I tried to turn it on after closing the door. The start button was not responding immediately, nor were some of the other buttons. I also noticed that after the dry cycle had completed and the door was then opened to unload, that the lights on the door were flashing. Then, when I shut the door after unloading the dishes, the washer would come on without having any buttons pushed. Recently, in addition to the difficulty we are experiencing getting it to start, the washer will keep running without ever turning off. Last night I turned it on before going to bed, and it was still running this morning. Calling the service number, the control panel part will run around $150, with a $98 charge for repairman to come out. Who knows if that 98$ isnt just to walk in the door, and whether that includes the time it takes to install the part. The dishwasher was around $400 with my husbands military discount from Home Depot, so it seems crazy to spend that kind of money to have a part replaced that is going to break again because of PLANNED OBSOLESCENCE. If that part is replaced (at half the cost of the dishwasher) whos to say what other part is going to break next, perhaps requiring another service call plus price of part. So, conclusion is to throw this one in the landfill and purchase another dishwasher, sadly.The case of Planned Obsolescence is reflected in many of the comments/reports here on Consumer Affairs. The age of the failing control panels of the Maytag/Whirlpool washers are running around the same time spans. No doubt in my mind that these control panels are designed to fail after a specific amount of run cycles/time on this machine. These appliance companies that are manufacturing these total crap appliances so that people will have to buy replacements within 3 or 4 years are filling our already packed landfills while robbing the consumer. Its plain to see for all who care to investigate the matter. A service repairman whom Ive used for years and has been in the business for 25, told me that most appliances today are total pieces of junk compared what they used to be and are designed to fail. He said it has greatly impacted his business because people are replacing appliances versus repairing them because it is not cost effective to have them repaired. He also added that the guts of these appliances looked like they were made from Cracker Jack toy quality plastic materials. There should be laws to stop these manufactures from Planned Obsolescence, and we need to go back to the way appliances use to be made... to last! I have no idea what its going to take to ever see that happen. This is what happens when you have very little competition and 2 major appliance manufacturers. More parts are being designed to fail, so that they can line their pockets. Pitiful.

I am not dissatisfied with hhgregg, but with Maytag products. I purchased the Maytag Centennial Top Load Washer and Maytag Centennial Dryer to match. I was a bit leery of the new energy star models that use he only type detergent, but decided that was the newest and greatest thing out, so how could it be wrong? For the past two months, I have been sooooo very disappointed in Maytag. Neither of these brand new machines are worthy of being considered brand new. The washer takes extremely too long to wash a normal load, too noisy, and has ruined several items of clothing, due to malfunctioning distribution of bleach, fabric softener released after clothes are through washing. There has also been several times that the load wash is complete and the clothes are not even wet (like they were never involved in a wash cycle). As for the dryer, you have to run it through two 40 minutes cycles to get the load of clothes completely dry, so much for energy-saving. This is my first complaint to anyone, but after reading several reviews on Maytags website, I am reassured I am not alone. There are hundreds of other dissatisfied consumers of this Maytag product. I will be writing a letter to Maytag, requesting a refund.

Our front load washer is two weeks past the one year warranty and need $650 in repairs! I will never purchase a Maytag product again. My last Maytag was 19 years old when we got this new front loader for energy efficiency. You dont save money when you have to replace it after one year.

I take pride in my cooking and love my kitchen. As you know this is where everyone gathers when you are entertaining. The Aqualift system does not work. I have run the process 3 to 4 times consecutively in row and the inside oven the oven is never clean. I wipe out the sides over and over. So disappointed. The only saving feature is that you can not see into the horrible look of the inside the oven when it is closed. Was this feature really tested before it went to market????

Purchased from Lowes October 2014, paid $680.00. Now needs $600.00 in repairs for new springs and basket rim according to a Maytag appliance repairman.Washer is leaking in the front left. Repairman thinks I need 4 new springs and a redesigned taller basket rim to keep the water from pouring out over it. Yes, it is 16 months old!! Ridiculous!

I purchased top of the line Maytag washer and dryer in 1975! They are Harvest Gold. They were sold last week along with my house. I now have Whirlpool appliances in the rental apartment I moved to. There are some irritating features.

Just like most of the other consumers, the control panel on my three year old Maytag dishwasher (MDB 6701AWW3) has failed for the fourth time. The cost of repairs and extended warranties has now far surpassed the original cost of the machine, which was $400. Today when I called Maytags customer service, I was offered another extended warranty for $316.05 for one year. I suggested that there was a defect in design but was assured that this was probably due to use of the machine. I guess if I left it as an unused space filler, it would last forever. They commiserated with my frustration. Never again will I purchase this brand.

I purchased an LG (white) washer last year, but my husband upgraded all appliances to stainless, including Maytag washer and dryer. The washer does not fill with enough water to cover the clothes. It barely agitates them to wash. Some clothes even come out with dry spots on them at times! They smell and are still dirty when done. I have tried every setting hoping that was the issue. Normal, power wash, none work any better! Had to resort to the soak function which does not add fabric softener or drain the water completely. Thankfully I didnt sell or get rid of the LG. Putting the LG back in asap. Nevermind the mixed color finishes of white and stainless between the washer and dryer. Clean clothes most important! Piece of garbage and complete rip off!

Purchased the Maytag Bravos XL washer and dryer in January, 2014. Today, 5/16/15 (less than 1 1/2 years later) the repairman tells me that the cause of the loud noise in the spin cycle is bad bearings. Only a 1-year warranty on the machine. I have never purchased extended warranties on appliances so this will cost me $400! Or a new washer since this is more than half the cost of the new washer. This is bad business, Maytag. Ive been a loyal Maytag customer for years but I think Im heading to Speed Queen with their 5-year warranty unless youre going to give me a helluva deal to keep me. Grrrrrrr.
