First front loader washer and love it. Saving on water, less tangling of clothes. So far they are quieter than others that I have had. The dryer is almost 10 years old and the washer less than a year. The machine I had previous to this was top loader that had to be replaced, would no longer spin.

We purchased at Home Depot on 5/12/2012 a Maytag dishwasher model MDBH979SAM. The following November it started not working correctly. We had to fiddle with the cancel button to get it to work at all. It just kept on getting worst to where it would not function at all. We called Maytag service. They set up a service call with a local warranty service provider who ordered a control board and a week later came and installed. No charges at this point. Now, here at the end of August 2013, out of warranty, it is doing the same thing! I just called Maytag customer service in Tennessee and was told they are so sorry but would sell me a one year service contract. This I immediately refused. I told the person I was talking to that I had seen this website and was aware that hundreds were having the same issues and that I knew first hand that they were doing nothing about it! I informed this person I will be in contact with my home states Attorney General’s Office Consumer Fraud Division and would ask for any assistance from them available. This person then offered to replace the part at no charge, but I would have to pay for the service people to come and determine the problem (real hard to figure out that it is the control board again, same as everyone else) and then pay to have them come and install it after they order and receive it! The service order left by the tech when he replaced the first board showed a $74 fee that was covered by the warranty. So from this I have determined that it will end up costing me $150 for this repair. I also realize this repair may last six months to a year if I am lucky! Needless to say I refused this last offer too. I will have to wait to hear from our Attorney Generals office. How can any reputable business do this?

The lonely salesman in the Maytag commercial for their washing machines says it all. The first Maytag washer we owned we used for 20 years and during that time had only a belt break one time which we replaced and used for a few more years. We then moved to a new home in 2006 and decided to purchase a new Maytag.

You can not add water to the fill, blankets dont even get wet when you wash them, you can do double rinse but cant control the fill, have to sit there and lift the lid up and down for 20 minutes to get enough water in the machine! The washing machines have turned into absolute garbage! Wish I would have come here first, whats the difference if I control the load size water or IF I SELECT DOUBLE RINSE? THIS WASHER 200% GUARANTEED I WILL NEVER BUY A MAYTAG AGAIN. ABSOLUTE TRASH FOR $700.

I have always thought of Maytag being the quality manufacturer of appliance products. We purchased a Maytag microwave (MMV4205DH-1) and after just two years it has begun to give us grief (we are in our early 70s, no family at home, so appliance receives medium usage). We constantly get the open/door message when we are trying to set the timer for operation. We open and close, open and close, etc. Just yesterday my wife noticed a slight crack on the door just below the handle, most likely due to frequent open and closing. Went online and read a number of reviews and found many others have had same or similar issues. Done with Maytag.

We bought 10 18-lb washers about a year ago. They are a maintenance nightmare. For example on June 5 7 out of 10 machine were out of service. One has been down since Jan 20 and the others for various lengths of time. The guarantee for these machines has been misleading since the parts for repair are never available. We are losing business and money because of the Maytag failure to provide equipment that operates as advertised. We need help now.

If I could give less than one star I would. I purchased a Maytag range in September 2021, 33 days later the oven went out!! I have been fighting trying to get it repaired for months!!! The parts are not in, the parts have been shipped, oops we forgot to ship the parts, the technician is on vacation. You name it, I have heard it. After the phone call today, it looks like I will still be without a range at Christmas!! This is totally unacceptable. I purchased a Maytag because I assumed it was a good brand! Do yourself a favor... Never buy a Maytag or Whirlpool Appliance. Its not worth it. For the range to only work for 32 days is just plain Wrong....

We purchased a Maytag washer model MVWC400XWO almost 2 years ago and it has problems with the bearings and the whole computer board is defective. I was told to buy the extended warranty for $350, which we did. As of today, we were told by extended warranty they are refunding our money because there are so many things wrong with this washer, including the whole computer board, that it would cost them too much to fix or replace it. Im in complete shock. We paid well over $500 and are still making payments on it. I spent the day reading hundreds of reviews from people with these exact same problems and Maytag is aware of it and will not help. They should not be selling these anymore. Im completely sick to my stomach. I cant afford another washer and when I called Maytag, they said it was past the year and we are out of luck. I cant believe this can happen to people and they get away with it. A washer should last longer than 2 yrs. There are hundreds of people going through this with Maytag and no one will help.

I purchased a Maytag model no. MDBH979AWB dishwasher on 4/28/2010, and I did not take out the extended warranty. I thought a Maytag product was built to last, but according to Maytag, I am wrong because they only offer a 1-year warranty on their products. About 2 months ago the hi-temp button on the control panel stopped working. Then a few days ago, the START button stopped working, I emailed Maytag and they sent me a PDF file that shows the warranty is only 1 year. I purchased the dishwasher at Home Depot, I went there and talked to customer service, they were no help either.I am very disappointed in both Maytag and Home Depot for selling products that Are CRAP! I paid $499 for this dishwasher, and if I would have known it only came with a 1-year warranty I would not have purchased it. I will no longer purchase any products that are made by Maytag or any products associated with Maytag.

From the beginning, the blower motor (for the control panel? never needed one before) was too noisy. I just bought the oven from Lowe’s. They sent out a repairman. He replaced the motor, but has exactly the same level of noise. It is bad design/engineering. Im going to try some other brand. One problem is that you cant listen to the fan noise before you buy the oven and install it. And there are no decibel requirements or ratings. Industry regulations need improvement. The washer is designed to use low amounts of water. The top is glass so you can watch what is or is not happening. The manual states there should be clothes above the water after filling. However after the wash cycle with a full or even half full washer, there is still some dry clothes above the water. As a result the clothes are not washed until the rinse cycle. I called Maytag and a repair tech came out to fix it. His solution was to trick the sensors by dumping a pail of water on top of the dry clothes before starting the washer. The sensors think there are more clothes than there really is. Will never buy another Maytag or Whirlpool product again.

The Maytag Washer Model # MVWB835DW is the worst I have EVER had!! I have 6 kids, my husband and myself who I do laundry for and this was supposed to be a XL washer so I can do large loads! It does not do anything to stains and all my clothes come out with clumps of powder and if I use liquid it leaves greasy residue on them! Everyone in our home has had rashes from the washing powder not getting rinsed out and my husband who gets grease and oil on his clothes has all stained clothing because of this washer that does NOT clean anything! I used to be able to get every single grease and oil stain out until I purchased this washer! My 9 yr old now has a scalded skin from the washing powder not getting rinsed no matter how much I use!! I even tried using vinegar to make it dissolve and it does not help! No matter what we do it does not fill up nor wash the clothing properly!! This washer needs to be discontinued immediately and anyone who has it have the option of exchanging it with a better washer! It is absolutely ridiculous that they know this washer does this yet keep selling it!

I am writing to tell you the dishwasher sold to my family malfunctioned as a result of an apparent design flaw. I also ended up wasting an entire day for a service person who never arrived. On October 14, 2009, my family bought a Maytag Dishwasher (model #MDBH979AWW) from Home Depot. It had run beautifully until last week, when the left-hand side of the control panel went dead. I then called the Maytag service number (800-688-9900) listed in the instruction manual and scheduled an appointment with the A&E Factory Service vendor for the following Friday (July 6th, 2012) between 8:00AM and 12:00PM. Around 12:30PM, no one had arrived, so I called again. I was told by the agent that the technician was en route and would arrive at my home in forty five minutes. At 2PM, still nobody arrived. I rang again when I was then informed that my name had been strangely kicked out of the system and made available for a reschedule. Wanting to stick with a Maytag-approved business, I went ahead and scheduled the next earliest appointment available, Monday, July 9, 2012. The technician from A&E Factory Service that actually did show up reported that the entire control panel had to be replaced at a cost of $281.48. Interestingly, he added that he had seen other Maytag dishwashers with this exact same problem and recommended that I wait until the water settled before adding extra dishes during a cycle since water apparently leaks into the electronics via a small gap on the top of the inside of the door. Of course, there is nothing in the instructions warning against such.I chose to fix the machine since I didnt have the money to purchase a new one. Are your dishwashers designed to last only a few years? I truly believe that I have been duped by Maytag since this problem resulted from a design flaw. I am asking you to please look into these matters and correct any wrongdoing that you see fit. Copies of receipts for the dishwasher purchase and service repair are enclosed.

I read the reviews before I bought this washer, went to a major department store to buy it. This way I knew that I could get good support if something happened to it. Its been 3 months, I use the washer everyday. There are 4 adults in my building, they use it daily. I have never had a problem yet, the clothes come out cleaner than the front loader I have. It seems Maytag still makes a good product. I am the first to admit, when you make large number of products you will have some with a defect. But this washer the Centennial by Maytag works great.. Plenty of water in the tub, the clothes come out clean.. Maybe those people having problems need to stop buy at big box home centers. Theyre known for lumber not washers.

I purchased Maytag Washer and Dryer 3-4 years ago, upgraded to the premium washer and dryer, SS drums and have been dissatisfied from the start. The washer was extremely noisy; we were told this was normal. The dryer began making strange noises just outside the warranty period, and the belt and pulley had to be replaced. I was shocked at the cheapness of the pulley design, but the replacement part was of better quality. The washer began making a horrendous squeak shortly afterwards, again, outside the warranty period. The repairman said that they were all like that, Maytag used inferior transmissions and that it would be cheaper to replace the washer than repairing it. My mother had the same experience with a similar model. Needless to say, I will never purchase another Maytag product. FYI, there are only three people in our household, all adults, light duty use.

In March 2014 I purchased all my kitchen appliances from Home Depot. Everything was Whirlpool except the dishwasher, a Maytag. The floor in my kitchen is wood, and I noticed that the finish was coming up in the area around the dishwasher. I called an accredited service company and the technician said the appliance was not level and proceeded to do that. Next, tech #2 - dishwasher not level, fixed it - different company. Tech #3 - dishwasher not level, fixed it, said perhaps I did not load the appliance properly and water splashed out! Dishwasher continued to leak, floor continued to warp. Came back as #4 and decided it was the control in door. Ordered new one, installed it - dishwasher leaked. Called Maytag at that point. They refuse to accept that it is defective merchandise, will not replace it on my word. They need a tech to certify that it is unfixable. Tune in tomorrow. This will be #5. My best advise at this time is Do Not Buy a Maytag appliance. They will not stand behind their products! Home Depot order # below.. Appliance model #MDB8959SBS.

Disturbing that this product made it into production. I have the matching dryer too, and its just as bad. First the washer rolls up clothes into a tight ball better than I could do if I did it by hand. Then it spins, setting the wrinkles in thoroughly. Then, even though I shake out the clothes before putting in dryer, after the clothes come out of the dryer (without letting them sit in there) - the clothes look like someone drove over them with a car while they were rolled up in a ball. Bonus: the clothes dont even get dried. Ive watched the clothes in the dryer, the drum is designed so the clothes stick to the outside of it and go around, they never actually tumble or get any air circulation. What a disastrous product.

I purchased a Maytag model # MRT 18 FFFHO1 refrigerator from Home Depot. After 7 months, it stopped cooling (wouldnt cool below 52 degrees). Fortunately, I had taken out a 5-year extended warranty. Thats the good news. The bad news is that after numerous trips by a certified repair man -- and three spring/summer months without reliable refrigeration -- Home Depot promised a refund. Well see.Bottom line: keep looking for a refrigerator that works. I have tried GE, Frigidaire, Maytag and Sanyo. Since many of these companies are really just one inept cooperation with more names than Frank Abagnale (Catch Me If You Can), let the buyer beware! I would give Home Depot protection plan 5 stars, though. They stayed with me through thick and thin: by emails, phone calls and text messages. However, their protection plan is worth more than Home Depots appliance products -- through no fault of theirs.

Echoing the sentiments of others on this site, I am deeply disappointed in Maytag brand appliances manufactured by the Whirlpool Corp. When, for the first time in my life, I was able to buy all brand new kitchen appliances, I didnt even consider any other brand but Maytag. This was based on many decades of using Maytag products and watching my mother use them. I come from a big family so our appliances got used hard, and the Maytag brand ones worked year after year, decade after decade with little or no maintenance. To put it quite frankly, my new Maytag products are junk. I could supply a whole laundry list of problems but, in the interest of space, will just tell about the latest. A couple of weeks ago the fake tin foil paint on my oven and burner knobs just started falling off, revealing cheap plastic underneath. When I called Maytag to complain, I was asked how I clean the knobs. I told them that when I clean the stove front I remove the knobs and drop them in warm water with a couple drops of Dawn dishwashing liquid for the few minutes it takes to clean and polish the stove front, and that I had been using this same procedure for 2 years. The rep. hemmed and hawed awhile and then went away to consult her database. When she returned she told me that one is not allowed to soak the knobs per the manual, and therefore she could not offer any help. She then generously offered to transfer me to the parts department, where the rep. informed me that replacements would cost $70 EACH, thats a total of $350 plus shipping for 5 cheap plastic knobs. WOW! What a deal! I tell everyone I meet NOT to buy any Maytag branded product, and to apply extreme skepticism before considering any Whirlpool product. (BTW - the last certified Maytag appliance repairman to come & fix one of the appliances essentially admitted they are junk.) Model #: MGR8775AS SN: R32810432.

Now, I am on my 3rd repair. When would it fail, on Christmas Eve morning when I am trying to prepare dinner for 20 people who are coming for dinner party. I paid too much for this piece of junk. I purchased a Maytag refrigerator (MBF2258XEB), stove (MER8674AB) and dishwasher (MDB7749SBB) on May 26, 2013. So far all three have been worked on. First, the dishwasher would not fill up with water after the trial run. Called the repairman out. A tag was placed in a position that was preventing the dishwasher from loading up with water. Granted, we should have taken the tag off, however, it stated not to. Lucky for me, I am still under warranty. Second, the refrigerator, which is a freezer at the bottom, started to leak. I thought that maybe we were dropping ice. However, I finally called and had the repairman back out. He knew exactly what the problem was because Maytag knew about it. There was a faulty plug. So in a matter of mins the problem was fixed. Lucky me still under warranty. Those two things happen within six months of purchasing these items. Now, the oven does not work. It heats up to the desire temperature but then cuts off. Called the repairman and he thought it might be the lower baking element. Unlucky for me, warranty has expired. So, $90.00 for service call. Received a called from the repairman, $120.00 for labor and $70.00 for the baking element. I purchased the baking element myself, $58.08 and installed it. Still does the same thing. Now I have another appointment for him to come back out and see what is wrong. Another $90.00! So far I have spent $238.08 on a $699.99 stove. I will never buy Maytag again. Depending on the amount to repair will depend on whether or not I go back to Sears and buy Kenmore. I had Kenmore for 10 years with no problems. I should have gone back to Sears for my upgrade. I did contact Maytag via email. I am still waiting for a reply. Live and learn!

We purchased a Maytag Washer and Dryer from The Home Depot in September of 2017. We did not purchase the extended warranty because of our confidence in the brand. Within less than a year, both appliances started making noises. By September of 2018, the washer sounded like it had a bag of mice squeaking inside every time we ran a load and had stopped spinning entirely. I called and spoke to a very kind lady who assured me that even if we were outside the one year manufacturers warranty, they would offer us the extended warranty without question because it was so close to the one year purchase. She took my credit card, we were charged for a five year plan and service was scheduled. After service, both units were still louder than I would prefer but the technician said it was common. Over the last few months, both have become louder and louder. Now the dryer shuts off and wont stay on. When I called back to schedule service again, the date of our purchase was all of a sudden in question. (I applied for the contract over the phone so THEIR rep entered the purchase date.) They are now telling us they will only honor the cost of parts and we are subject to pay for diagnostics and labor (which is the largest cost of repair). They are telling us our contract has to be cancelled and AFTER we receive and PAY FOR all but the parts, we can call and pay for a NEW contract. This has been the WORST appliance purchase we have EVER made and we have lost all confidence in the quality of Maytag/Whirlpool appliances. Both units have been VERY disappointing and we spent over $700 on each unit. NEVER AGAIN.

The timer had to be replaced on the dryer, and the entire electrical panel on the washer has gone out and needs to be replaced. So disappointing. Model number MVWX655DW (washer), MEDX655DW (dryer).

Bravos XL washer - I agree with others, if I won the lottery, this would be on the street in two minutes. It is a complete waste of money. Nothing comes clean. Supposed to be water efficient, well not when you have to wash everything multiple times and I have to do them in such small loads to have any hope of anything getting clean. Some clothes just never look clean. I have the same issue with all my dark things coming out with white residue and yet I use liquid detergent. I follow all the instructions and do the monthly Affresh tablet (cash grab) and still nothing is ever clean. I am SO disappointed in this machine. I thought Maytag and Whirlpool were good brands but not anymore. I also get a constant HC error and there is nothing wrong with my water lines. Just so disappointing, save your money and frustration and buy something else!!

I had the old style machine and finally it gave out and I bought an LG HE Large capacity. It was a well I can print it here but kept the machine for 5 years and gave it away. I bought a new Bravo Maytag set 5.2 with the old style agitator thinking I was going to get a great machine and NO. These new machines do not use enough water in the load sensing and clothes on top never get in the water. They come out with soap stains even with a double rinse. And no I am not using too much soap! My old machine had small medium and large load settings plus you could add more water if needed. Way better machine. The techs are trained to tell you this is how the machines work and there is nothing wrong with them. Finally an honest tech told me they are having all sorts of complaints and problems. If all you wash is bedding and dress clothes you get by but if you really have soiled clothes you have to do a lot of prep and then stop in the middle of the wash cycle and rotate your clothes manually! Total BS for 8-900 dollar machines. Do yourself a favor and buy a front load. At least the clothes will get flopped in and out of the water and hopefully rotate so they actually get clean. That is what I am going to try before I go back to the old scrub board and tub!

Very disappointed with Maytag Bravos XL, four year old unit with bearings going out. Quoted $400 + for repair. With two in the house, wash demands are normal. Quality is questionable to have bearings & seal going out in four years. Also you cannot buy the bolt which holds the Washer Motor Rotor Cover on without buying the whole $130 assembly. Daughter has Whirlpool brand with same problem. Seems to me this is a problem Maytag/Whirlpool should address. My old unit (that I wish I still had), worked for 25 years. Would not recommend these machines.

This washing machine worked great for just under 3 years. I noticed it wasnt draining completely. Per my appliance repair guy, the bearings were shot & it was going to cost over $300 to fix it. Called Maytag because my owners manual stated I had a 10 yr warranty. Wrong. The warranty only covers the wash basket & the drive motor. Look on Maytags Facebook page & you will see pages & pages of complaints on all of their appliances. Refrigerators, washers, dryers, if its got a Maytag name on it, its broken. Many of these appliances worked for only a year out two before they bit the dust. I went to Maytags fb page & ranted about their poor quality products & Maytags refusal to stand behind their products. Know what happened? They sent me an email stating that theyd reviewed my case yet again & there was nothing they would do. Then they blocked me on fb. Yep. Please please before you buy any Maytag/Whirlpool/KitchenAid product, please dont! Save your money & buy another brand. All Maytag will do is send you a form letter telling you they understand your frustration & you can email them your info, theyll investigate & get back with you. When (if) they respond theyll tell you theres nothing they can do. Basically you are sold, too bad, so sad. I now have a $600 piece of junk sitting in my garage. Im hoping I can get $20 out of it from the scrap yard.

My Maytag 2000 has ripped our clothes. This is my 1st front loading set. I looked on the internet and it seems that this is a known problem. Very upset that a brand that I had for 30 years and recommended to others as well has turned into a terrible company. Im a single mom and Im not in a position to replace a washer every year. I trusted Maytag! A recall and either replacement of the parts, or delivery of new part to fix the problem should have been put in place. I wrote to Maytag to see if they will do something to fix this problem.I have the set, washer shakes a lot, but works well. Washer also always has a lot of water left on the door seals folds, terrible design... I will post on other sites to warn other customers. This is not OK, my clothes are destroyed. See pictures. Clothes got trapped in a gap that exists in the perimeter of the opening, where it meets the door. Why is there a gap at all???

Does not rinse clothes or dispense adequate water. This is the worst washing machine I have ever owned. Dark clothes come out of washer with white dust/soap residue on them. Clothes often come out of washer dry - never touched by water in the wash cycle. The spin cycle knots the clothes into a heap. As for the dryer, pulling out the lint filter leaves lint particles all over the top of the dryer. Poor design.

We had been a Whirlpool only brand household for as long as I can remember. When our Whirlpool washer and dryer gave out on us 11 years ago, we had a friend swear by the quality of Maytag appliances and decided to try something new. We purchased a Maytag Atlantis washer and dryer set. We have had our Maytag Atlantis washer and dryer since 2003 and both appliances are still as dependable and hard working as the day we purchased them. We live in a house with well water and our water is treated to be soft water. We have 2 daughters and 4 grandchildren who have come and put our machines through some heavy duty challenges when their non-Maytag brand washers and dryers have failed them. We are still very satisfied with our Maytag purchase some 11 years later, and so are our daughters and grandchildren!

I dont have time for that, I have four children and my husband works in construction and comes home with filthy clothes that are just wet and dirty when they come out of this washer. I dont usually write reviews but I hope I can save someone else the hassle. I wish I would have read the reviews beforehand, they all complain of the same thing. This washer altogether is BAD! ITS LOUD, it bangs around if I dont put in the tiniest loads, even then, they come out dirty. Dont waste your time.

I forked over the $$$ to have the part replaced and installed. Now, 2 years later the panel is once again slowly dying. I just got off the phone with the Maytag people and they refuse fix it and take responsibility for the product failure. The machine has worked adequately for me aside from the control panel issues. The control panel was built to break. Shame on Maytag! Lets go forward with the class action lawsuit!!!

We purchased our Maytag dishwasher less than a year ago and are very disappointed with the poorly designed quality of this product. We had a Maytag repairman look at our dishwasher and he told us that; the dishwasher cleans with enzymes in the dishwasher not water pressure, and we need to make sure the water in the kitchen faucet need to be hot before starting the dishwasher, we also need detergent, rinse aid, and citric acid added to each load. Adding all these products to the dishwasher does not fix a poorly designed product. This product does not clean the dishes, even with rinse aid the glasses come out cloudy. The dishwasher has a power blast button, it does not clean the dishes any better than the regular setting and it runs for four hours. We will never buy another Maytag product.

Maytag 18.5 cu ft Bottom Freezer Refrigerator purchased 12/10/12. 1/12/16 the bottom of the freezer had an inch of ice that leaked onto the floor. My plumber chipped away ice and unclogged drains $97.50. 4/19/18) the same $97.50. 5/22/18 an appliance repair business installed a drain kit $148.40. This was his 25th Maytag with the same problem. A whole website has complaints about this problem. I sent a letter to Maytag and they wanted to send out their technician to find out the problem (with a service cost to me). With all these complaints, and a kit to fix it, they already know the problem but refuse to do anything about it. Maytag used to be a reputable company. No more. The customer service said I should have bought an extended warranty. I said a $1400 refrigerator should last longer than 3 years (the first leaking occurrence). I will never buy a Maytag product (nor Whirlpool that makes it).

We are a family of three. We purchased our Washer and Dryer New, November 2011 at Lowes, in Lindale TX. I am disabled. I have had several spine surgeries and getting ready for another. I was injured at work and it left me crippled. I do not receive any benefits from my County Employer. My wife is a schoolteacher. We live on a limited income after my accident. We purchased this set with utmost confidence, our last set was twenty years old. We updated due to water, electric, and the environment. Our Maytags we had were still usable, it was just time for their retirement. They were hand me downs washer and dryer set. Truly! I dont know how old they were. When our washer started having troubles, it was making a horrible noise. We called Hughes Appliance. Theyre an authorized Maytag Repair Service Warranty Center. They sent Mark out we used them before. He stated the motor was not loctited from the factory. It worked its way loose almost coming completely off. This cost me a $85 service call. Mark also stated that the Tub Bearings were going out because off this. He called Maytag Customer Service and Dealer Warranty Service, said they wouldnt pay for the repairs or even the Service call for their factorys snotty WorkmanShip. I tried calling myself and got absolutely nowhere. I was polite, courteous and nice and they still Said, Sorry, We Know its less than three years old but thats the way it is. Sorry Sir! Have Nice Day! Its going to cost $389 to replace the tub bearings in top load washer. The washer only cost about 750 less than three years ago. Its the most expensive clothes washer Ive ever owned. One thing! If they dont make things right, I promise I will never own a Maytag again! And when I am in a store and see someone looking at their product I will make a point to tell them my situation and about my Maytag Washer. One thing is certain I can make sure young customer dont buy the wrong appliances while I sit patiently in my wheelchair waiting on my wife. Thanks Maytag! Its not What You Did For Me! Its What I Can Do For You!

Dryer doesn’t dry any size load in one cycle regardless of settings. Mysteriously, it triggers a message to check the lint filter and line when running a small load with nothing blocking the venting system. It never happens on large loads which would block more of the air flow. You could get a comparably sized dryer for much less. This not the premium product that you pay for.

When I called Maytag, I asked them if there were any issues with the control panels as I had heard there have been multiple issues with them needing to be replaced. I was told they had no record of any complaints and offered to sell me an extended warranty for $269, but there was nothing else they could do for me. I ultimately had my repairman order the part and it was replaced. My repairman did say Maytag did upgrade the panel because of all the issues they were having with the panel. Hopefully, they have fixed the problem and it will not have to be replaced again. But if it does, I will not replace it again. I will look into a new dishwasher and definitely not a Maytag. I purchased this Maytag washer/dryer set in February 2017 and I am very, very happy with it. This is a brand that has proven dependable for more than 80+ years. This is a low water washer that saves money on energy bills. I love the extra large capacity and was very concerned how well it would clean without an agitator. But having confidence in the name, which is why I purchased this set, I was very pleased with the cleaning power. The only disadvantage I see is with the soak cycle which is timed. I would like to have an option to soak indefinitely. So if you are trying to remove blood stains, you may have to use the soak cycle a few times before all the blood is removed. I bought a Maytag Dryer from Lowes in December of 2013. I paid 600.00 for this dryer which I thought was going to last for quite awhile. It stopped working in January of 2016. (2 years old). I had a repairman come out and he said the motor had burned out and he wanted 300.00 to fix it. I called Lowes and asked if I should expect the motor to burn out in 2 years; they said of course not - call Maytag. That proved to be a complete waste of time. They would do nothing. They simply said that there was not a recall on that machine and they were not technicians. However they would be glad to send someone for 125.00 dollars to look at it, then the parts and labor would be more. I have never had a dryer burn out in 2 years - not even when I was raising children and using a dryer daily. This Maytag clothes dryer isnt even used every week and when it is used, there are a few small loads. I am appalled and disappointed in Maytag and the poor quality of this appliance as well as their horrible customer service.

My Maytag dishwasher MDB7749SAM is not quite 5 years old. At the end of December 2016 a bubble appeared on my vinyl floor. The plumber could not find any broken pipes or reason for any moisture to have gotten under the flooring. A flooring company did not know what was causing the bubble, moisture or the vinyl glue had failed. The floor got worse and worse, more bubbles.Called the flooring company again. Raised the register cover and could see all the moisture under the vinyl and underlayment. Plumber discovered the dishwasher fill valve had failed but because there was so much insulation on the kick plate, at the bottom of the dishwasher, it forced the water, which was in a pan under the dishwasher, to push the water to the back by the wall and under the flooring. Plumber said, the insulation acted like a dam to keep the water from showing in the front of the dishwasher. The first and subsequent bubbles, in vinyl were 3 feet away from the dishwasher. No way to tell the dishwasher had the problem. Has anyone experienced this problem? If not, take care to remove the kickplate and check your dishwasher for water problems.

We purchased our Maytag Bravos washer and dryer in 2008. Within a year, the hinges that held the door open on the top load washer broke. In year 2, the area around the fabric softener dispenser rusted so badly that it almost completely ate the porcelain enamel away. In year 4, it started making a noise that I will compare to a jet on takeoff during the rinse cycles. It continued to work but got louder and louder. We looked into the cost of the repair, which was going to be $350 parts + labor. If it had been a good machine, we might have considered fixing it but it wasnt. Even a set of sheets could put it off balance, which stopped the machine with the wash cycle incomplete. It also set its own water level based on the weight of the clothes and many times the top items came out with dry spots that hadnt even been submerged throughout the whole cycle. Consequently, the clothes were never very clean and I would have to rewash many loads. This machine was not cheap - around $1,000. I was so frustrated and felt completely taken by the Whirlpool company again. We have had many unhappy situations with their products over the years - Kitchenaid, Jenn-Air and Maytag. We finally learned our lesson and researched washers online. The best rated that we could find was Speed Queen. We couldnt find it in Canada, so my husband drove 5 hours round trip to the US and bought one. We have had it 4 months now and the difference is unbelievable. Our clothes are clean again. I can set my own water level and the hot cycle actually gives you hot water. It never goes off balance no matter how many or few clothes it has. If I see that I need more water part way through a cycle, it has a button that lets you add some part way through. It doesnt have a lot of bells and whistles. Its a basic but excellent machine that is a pleasure to use. I would recommend it highly. I realize it has only been a short time, but my Maytag never performed like this machine even from day one. It reminds me of my very first washing machine many years ago, an Inglis, which never had a repair in 15 years of use. If our dryer goes, we will definitely buy Speed Queen. The trip is well worth it.

I bought a Neptune Washer in 1999. 6 years later (2005), it started making the 747 landing noise. It was implied that somehow it was our fault, maybe, something from my contractor husbands pocket. After all, it was a Maytag, and surely there could be no design or engineering flaw! (My daughter still has 34-yr.old one.) We were told the repairs would be so expensive. It would be wiser to buy a new one. Foolish me, I bought another Neptune to match my dryer. Of course, now this one has the same bearing problem and again its cheaper to buy a new washer. I am angry and not sure how to proceed. Any washer, but especially a Maytag, should last more than 5 - 6 years. I should not have to buy my 3rd washer in 12 years. And if I do, it certainly wont be a Maytag!

I purchased my washing machine in July 2020 and it was broken by November. It took months without a washer before the warranty finally replaced my machine. I had the second machine less than 6 months when the water pump went out on it. They told me it would be two weeks for the repairman to come out. In the meantime my clothes were locked in the washer half full of dirty water. They told me we would have to force the lock to retrieve the clothes so they would not mold. The repairman called, never showed up, just called to ask what was wrong. Told me he would order parts and I had to wait 21 days to see if they would be able to find them. Today is day 21. I called the warranty back and was told it would be escalated and someone would call me in 4 days with a resolution. In the meantime I have spent $60 a week doing laundry for my family of 6 at the laundromat for MONTHS. Out of the 18 months have dealt with Maytag, I have spent more than 6 months at the laundromat. When I asked to be reimbursed the money I have spent they offered me a free 6 month extended warranty or a fifty dollar gift card. This product is garbage! The customer service is garbage. The lid lock and sensor have went out on the machine and the repair costs are equal to the purchase of the machine. Whether the consumer has an extended warranty or not, this is unreasonable. So hear this Maytag, the CONSUMERS will invest elsewhere when delivered cheap merchandise like this even if it is Made in the USA as you wish to tout in order to bait the consumer for their money instead of providing superior quality American products. This consumer is sending this machine out the door.

I bought a Maytag refrigerator, model MBF2258XEW, March 2013. Bottom freezer, single door. The past 3 or 4 weeks I have been noticing water occasionally puddling on the floor at the freezer. The ice maker has never been hooked up, with no problem before now. I recently noticed that my wood floor is darkening in a spot that often gets wet. After reading some of these complaints it appears I am not alone experiencing water problems with something that is sold on its reputation for being trouble-free. I also see that I should expect to pay a few hundred dollars out of my pocket to fix the problem. Very disappointing.

Refrigerator (Model Mff2558vems) purchased end of November 2011. Early in 2013 notice refrigerator first forming ice all over freezer, including an ice sheet on bottom of freezer. Then noticed water around refrigerator. Called maytag and they sent repairman even though a little over year and out of warranty. Their service people seemed to know exactly what was causing the leak as they came in with the correct replacement part. Worked fine however, there was damage to my newly refinished hardwood floors which Maytag did pay to repair. A couple of days ago I opened the freezer and again noticed ice all over freezer. The next day, water all around freezer. I cleaned everything up, so I thought. The day after, we noticed the hardwood in kitchen buckling up far from refrigerator and the laminate in dining room bubbling, even though there was no visible sign of water. Called Maytag repair company but they couldnt come out for a couple of days. Called another local repair service familiar with Maytag refrigerators and he couldnt find anything wrong with refrigerator even though he knows leaking caused by refrigerator. Called insurance co. and they sent over service master. Leak is definitely coming from refrigerator. They had to pull up hardwood floor, part of walls, the dining room. They now have five large fans going and a defroster to dry things up. This is upsetting, as my daughters wedding is next month, my husband is currently laid off and I dont need this kind of aggravation again. I love the french door idea, so roomy for my large family, but I am now afraid of this refrigerator. I dont want it but think it is ridiculous I have to shell out more money when the refrigerator is less than 3 years old. I talked with a higher level supervisor at Maytag and they are only willing to give a 100.00 rebate towards a new refrigerator since the refrigerator is out of warranty. This is ridiculous. I thought by buying American I was helping our economy but what I got in return is heartache and crappy merchandise. If there is a lawsuit in California against Maytag about these refrigerators I want to join. My friend in N. CA who bought her Maytag refrigerator the same time I did is also experiencing leaking. So frustrating.

I have been trying to solve the issue with my washer, that my parents bought me for my new home. Home Depot, where they were bought, came out twice, and all they say is there is nothing wrong with the washer. There are plenty of things wrong with the washer. It doesnt clean the clothes. I have to use the heavy wash cycle, to try and get the clothes clean. Maytag wont even deal with the situation. The fight has been going on for over 2 years (washer serial # is CY4744432 manufacturers number is MVWC6ESWWI).Not sure if I should just give up. Im really tired of fighting with Maytag and Home Depot. I hope you can help.

I purchased a Maytag Bravos washer in 2009. I have had nothing but problems. Since, it seems that this washer was never tested nor perfected but just put on the market to sell to us, the consumers, the company does not care that this washer breaks down constantly. First the pump had to be replaced, then the tub was replaced. These were nothing compared to coins falling through to get caught in the pump and cause the washer not to drain. When I bought my washer, I also purchased an extended warranty not knowing that if the washer were to breakdown to many times, Maytag would refuse to repair under the service plan that I purchased because now they are telling me that by letting the coins fall through is abuse of the washer. Really so what they are saying is accidents will not be covered, I thought thats why we purchase insurance.Thank You, Maytag. I will never buy your product again.

I purchased a Maytag refrigerator 4.3 years ago. Model #NSD2572VEW01 side-by-side. Came home to find water on floor. Called for service at a local company. Tried several new parts, only to find out I had a bad compressor. Part cost $358.30 + labor charge which couldnt be estimated because of difficulty with installation. Called Maytag for help, was told FIVE times, Sorry, nothing we can do to help you. Have never had any other appliance in my life except Maytag. NEVER had a problem with anything before. Have washer, dryer, fridge, stove, microwave, and dishwasher. Found the answer to be unacceptable!!!

The way the outlet line and pump are set up, the Maytag Bravos does not remove all water from the bottom leaving about 2-3 inches. Even following the monthly cleaning and care has not stopped the inside of the tub from producing MOLD. When I contact Maytag there was nothing they could do about this problem. At this point my washer is only a few years old. I attempted to clean it myself but the drum would not break free. My options are, deal with the smell of mold and mildew, Pay Maytag $250 to come out and clean it (this would need to be done every 1-2 years) or buy a new washer. NOTE: I paid about $550 for this one. I have run a few clean cycles with bleach, but I think at this point the mold has embedded itself into the plastic tub.

Always have bought Maytag. 16 years on both washer and dryer. The newer models, which I dont have, locks the top of the washer after it starts. I would hate that. I dont care if they are stackable but I would want full size. I dont think I would pay extra for a front loader, but the only front loading washer I have ever owned is small and at our camp.

My Maytag Bravo washing machine is very basic and convenient. It was the first appliance I bought when I purchased my new home in September of 2019. it is commercial grade so I’m able to wash everything from towels to comforters to heavy coats. I like the clean lines of it and the knobs are easy to use and are perfect for my needs. It has wrinkle control, deep water wash, a variety of temperatures including tap, cold, cool, warm and hot. There is a fabric softener feature and an extra rinse. The push button Start is perfect and easy to use.

My less then 6 month old washer presented an error code and stopped working in mid November 2021, so I contacted Maytag and they sent a service man out to my house. The service man was distraught and said it the washing machine had catastrophic failure - they would order the parts and get it repaired. Early January I still had heard nothing, So I again contacted Maytag and they had no answer. On January 26th I finally received an email saying due to parts on backorder I had been approved a new washer and JB Hunt would be handling the delivery and disposal of the original washer. On Feb. 07 - I contact Maytag, yet again, due to not hearing anything for almost 2 weeks - They stated that the request was not submitted properly and it would be another 5 days before a representative would be in contact with me. I am currently still paying on this brand new washer that does not work on top of 4 + months of laundromat fees due to not having a functioning washing machine and I am nowhere closer than I was mid November to a solution for this washing machine. I would NEVER recommend Maytag to anyone!!

This machine sucks. Im down to washing three to four items only on an extra capacity machine because every single load becomes unbalanced. Feeling the weight of each item and then placing it correctly doesnt work. Repairman came out. Said it was balanced. Lie. At this point I want to take a sledgehammer to it and send the pieces one by one to Maytag. They should be embarrassed to even have this product for sale to the public with their name on it.

3 years ago, we purchased all new Maytag appliances for our home. Within one year, we had issues with the top load refrigerator getting warm and the bottom load freezer getting extremely cold. After calling Maytag and getting horrible customer service (long wait on the phone, no supportive/suggestive advice, rude representative), we were given a phone number for a local Maytag repair man who charged $300 just to walk into the house. He was literally in and then out of our house within 10 minutes. His advice was to unplug and defrost the refrigerator for 24 hours. Thankfully, his suggestion worked, but should have been given to us as a troubleshooter by the representative on the phone with Maytag. We have had to unplug and defrost the refrigerator about every 3 weeks since. It has become very annoying and stressful. There is obviously a defect in the refrigerator that should be replaced by Maytag! I will never buy a Maytag product again.

So I get the matching set washer and dryer when I moved into my new house. I thought I was getting a nice set. I paid around $1600 for them with the sale they had going on. From day one the washer wouldnt get a full size comforter wet on the bulky cycle or heavy duty cycle. I even tried the extra rinse cycle on both as well. I would have stop it mid wash and rotate the comforter. Clothes wouldnt settle sometimes and would leave the top dry and bottom soaking wet. In the first year the lid latch started going bad. So sometimes you would go back to realize the load hadnt even started. Clothes dont get clean no matter what setting you use. It is the worst purchase Ive ever made. The dryer was ok until its almost second year. It just stopped drying it seemed. I cleaned EVERYTHING! No effect. It takes 3 full cycles at minimum to dry clothes. I cant understand why these machines arent pulled from the market or recalled because they are junk.

The control panel of my dishwasher is malfunctioning. I looked this up online and ran into a recall for the heating element. Sure enough, my dishwasher is effected. I asked why I was not contacted. First they made up a story as to not having my contact information. This is simply not true, as I purchased the dishwasher directly from Maytag. Three years ago there was another recall and the heating element caused another problem so Maytag replaced my dishwasher. If a heating element overheats, it seems to me that a short-term affect could be overheating the control panel, causing it to malfunction. I read through a few recent complains and would also like to inquire about having this issue looked into by the Consumer Affairs.

I have had my washer and dryer for 14 months and from day one, my washer eats holes in my clothes. It is always the bottom center front of my shirts. I complained about this and was told it was my clothes. They were either old, or the type of fabric, or too much bleach, etc. etc. Everything was wrong with myclothes except the washer. I purchased a new shirt and washed it without ever had worn it, and when I took it out of the washer, it has holes in the front. NOW YOU TELL ME that is the shirt and not the washer. I spoke to Destiny today at the Resolution Center, she knew one phrase, its a low usage washer. I would reply, 3 inches of water in a drum does not wash my familys clothes. Every load is covered in white soap specks, whether powder, liquid or pods are used. Again, Id hear, its a lower usage washer. Ok, I got it.The machine has been cleaned with Affresh. This washer cannot clean a single shirt let alone a full load of wash. Maytag (actually made by Whirlpool) should be ashamed to produce such a shoddy product and expect to the consumer to keep paying for repairs. From reading the reviews on a couple of websites, consumers have to keep repairing this washer time and time again. Destiny told me she would send a technician out at my expense. The machine will be in the landfill on Saturday. Never again Maytag/Whirlpool.

Then we couldnt even wash one pair of jeans without an error message. Called to have it repaired and $300. Later the bearing was replaced and the washer worked wonderfully once again. This is the absolutely worse washer I have ever owned! My clothes actually come out dirtier after they are washed. It leaves white stains on clothes that I have to scrub out by hand. Maytag you should be ashamed of yourselves for coming out with a washer like this. It takes me 2 or 3 times to wash clothes and I have to use the power wash, extra rinse, and maximum clean setting to even come close to cleaning. It is cheaper to take my clothes to the dry cleaner now than use the washer. The washer takes over an hour to complete the wash cycle, has to be set on Bulk in order to get enough water for a decent wash, and is extremely rough on clothing. Its made holes in some of my shirts and everything comes out twisted without enough rinsing. Sleeves are always turned inside out. Thats how rough it is. It costs me more in water and electricity. I purchased a Maytag Bravos Quiet Series washer and dryer in 2009. The repair people have been to my house 7 times. The dryer had a useless part on the drum that made a banging noise while running. The washer keeps getting coins and small undergarments stuck in the motor. Every now and then, one of us leaves a coin in the pocket by mistake. I did purchase the extended warranty on the set. The repairperson that comes to my house is great. I would, however, not want to have to keep leaving work to meet repairmen. The machines are not quiet. If you need quiet from your appliances, this is not the set for you. If you do not clean the washer with Affresh or Clorox product, your clothes and your room smells. The clothes are always so tangled after washing; they tend to wear out quickly. Im not sure about this high efficiency washer. I wish I had just purchased a regular machine.

Purchased new Maytag Refrigerator from Mannys in Western MA. Top freezer, over $900.00. Never has worked correctly. We need to turn the freezer way up to freeze the ice cream and it forms frost all around the freezer with mini icicles hanging! But even worse... no matter what setting you put the refrigerator on it ruins your food by freezing everything. The only safe spot is in the deli drawer. I have thrown away hundreds of dollars worth of food that is destroyed because it froze in the refrigerator.A service man from Mannys came and ordered parts. He came back and said they were the wrong parts. Now he says that the refrigerator has a problem and Maytag is trying to come out with a plan on how to fix it. I talked with Maytag (took 44 minutes to get someone on the phone). The manager in service was rude, said they dont replace food and they would work on fixing it. 2 weeks later... no calls from either place. I called Mannys and they said they should have some news by next week. In the meantime I dont have a refrigerator that works! NEVER BUY A MAYTAG REFRIGERATOR!!! It is still under warranty and I asked for a new refrigerator... both Mannys and Maytag said no way.

To begin with, the Bravos 300 washer was bought because we owned a Maytag previously and it was with us for 25 years. It was still running when we gave it away and the only problem was a small oil leak starting at the drive. The new washer has no agitator, just the new style flat thing at the bottom of the tub. You cannot wash a set of fitted sheets without it turning into a tangled mess. The washer quit working after about 5 years and all indications pointed to the control. The control would reset after unplugging, but would freeze immediately when you tried to enter a command. We live in an isolated place and it is not feasible to fly in a service person. I ordered a new control, but there was no change in function. After several hours of detective work, it turns out that the mickey mouse plug for the electrical connection at the pump had broken inside. Because the pump would not work, the whole control would freeze. We will never buy another Maytag.

Absolutely no help unless I spend another $310 for extended warranty to cover the $380 part (tub and bearing - 1 unit - cant get only the bearing). Paid $800 for the washer now more for the repair wanted. $1100-$1200 for a machine that will need repair again in a couple of years? Dont think so. This machine is only good for a boat anchor. We recently purchased a Maytag Washer/Dryer set, but shortly after it arrived, we realized it was way too big for our needs, so traded it in for a smaller model (Model #MVWB765FC3). After a few washes, it developed a loud clicking noise during the entire wash cycle. Inquired about it at the retailer we purchased it from (showed them video of it) and was told it was not supposed to make that noise. Subsequently the Maytag Repairman paid us a visit and told us theres nothing wrong with the machine and that the retailer should not have told us what they did.#1). The machine did not make that noise initially. It started after a few loads of laundry. #2). The first machine we brought home was the same model (only larger) and that one didnt make that noise. To add insult to injury, the repairman has the audacity to tell my husband, Well, this visit didnt cost you anything. Really?! It cost him 4 hours of pay while he sat home waiting for you! In addition, we were delivered two cosmetically defective dryers that had to be returned. Furthermore, when I was washer/dryer shopping, I sent Maytags Customer Service Dept. an e-mail through their website asking questions about the product. To this day, I have still not received a response. I had a bad experience about 20 years ago with Maytag, but thought Id give them a second chance. I tell you...there will not be a 3rd time.
