I purchased a whole stainless steel kitchen from Lowes and purchased all Maytag products because of the so called quality of Maytag. First we had to return the microwave because it was dented badly. We then notified Lowes that the door on the refrigerator cold cut drawer falls off when opening the drawer. Service man said he would send a new door. Same problem. You can clearly see that the drawer and the refrigerator frame is deformed. Maytag says that the warranty does not cover cosmetics. The range has a aqua lift self-cleaning technology that simply sucks. The oven does not clean! I recommend that no one ever buy Maytag products. They are the worst! I should not have listened to the salesman and bought what I originally wanted - SAMSUNG!!!

Bought this Maytag Bravos Washer online from Lowe’s in the holiday season of December 2017 because my previous Maytag HE washer broke after 17 years. I have had nothing but issues with this washer right from the start. The clothes do not come clean as I find myself putting them through the wash cycle two or three times to have them washed and come somewhat clean. The clothes come out soaking wet that I have to put them through the rinse and spin cycle at least one or two more times. I called Lowe’s to complain about this washer and they said they only have a 30 day return policy and they would be happy to call for service for me. I told them it didn’t work from the start but they didn’t care. So now, sadly, I have a repairman coming this week to fix my new washer, And hopefully he can fix it that I can use it and it can properly wash clothes. I wish I would have her read the reviews on Consumer Affairs about this washer before purchasing this Maytag. Not happy with Maytag. I would have never bought it and bought a different brand. Codes appear on the face of the washer better. Nowhere in the manual that I had to personally download myself because it didn’t come with one. And oh did I mention that I need a step ladder to reach into the bottom of the tub? This washer should come yellow because it is definitely a lemon!

My original GE dishwasher that came with our house finally crapped out after about 8 years of use in 2007. Bought a Maytag from Home Depot for around $400. Dont remember the model number. It worked okay but then in the middle of 2010 we got a letter in the mail saying our machine was being recalled because the heating element might catch fire (!!!). The recall gave us the option of getting it fixed or getting a $150 rebate. We chose the rebate option so we trashed this dishwasher and went back to Home Depot to buy another one.We found a very nice Maytag with the stainless steel tub and the racks with the lifetime warranty against corrosion (which was good because our previous Maytag had started to leave rust on our dishes because the plastic on the tips of the rack tines was starting to come off), model #MDBA979AWB1, serial #FY2501885. The one we found was a no-box display model but it had all the accessories with it and still had the factory warranty. We got it for just over $300 and with our rebate applied we were out the door for under $200 including tax. I installed it myself and didnt have any issues for quite some time. My wife and I were both very happy with how clean the dishes got!Now, last night the dishwasher wouldnt start. I checked it out this morning, made sure it had power and was able to get some lights on the control panel to light up but still couldnt get it to start. Looks like Ive been victimized by the control board as most of these complaints have said. I guess I should consider us lucky since ours seems to have lasted longer than the average 18 months to 2 years. Will be contacting Maytag and Home Depot to see what they can do but after reading all these negative reviews Im not hopeful.

Purchased a Maytag fridge April of 2012. Within a few months the freezer was not keeping the food cold enough. I had a lot of food loss. I called Home Depot and they refused to give me a new fridge. They said to call the Mfg. That I did and all they did was send out a service man. This has been fixed 5 times for the same thing. The problem now is that the Extended warranty company refuse to repair it now that they know that it was a pre-existing condition that should have been taken care of under the Mfg. warranty. I paid 180.00 for an extended warranty that now is worthless. I just threw out roughly 200.00 worth of food. Now my lettuce is frozen, eggs are frozen. My husband is disabled and money is not plentiful. I dont know where to turn. Frustrated.

In December of 2013, I purchased a Middle of the Line Maytag Dishwasher model #MDB8949SBW for $600 plus $200.00 for install and removal of 5 yr old Kenmore. At that time I thought I did my research and saw no major negative flaws on this type of machine or similar machines. This replaced a 5 yr old low line Kenmore that just upped and died. Installed just before the holidays, this Maytag machine seemed to have worked tirelessly until a few days ago August 18/2015. The computer controls went haywire. I was hitting normal start buttons and other buttons on the other side of the control panel were blinking and lighting up. Worse was trying to cancel and the control boards were not responding. Even hitting the start button, the machine would not turn on. Finally looking at the facia, I see the tabs of the flexible plastic frame that hold the control panel popping out from underneath the white facia plate. Snapping the frame back in and applying a lot of pressure got the machine to operate. With a family of four and minimal storage space, this machine is used approx once a day. It appears over the year and 1/2 by pulling on the plastic handle - which also happens to be the computer control board frame, the computer has separated from its mount and has allowed moisture to hit the control board/computer and wreak havoc on the electronics. Looking up this model online NOW, I see I am not the only one with Dishwasher computers failing within a year or two- just out of the one year warranty. A Call to Maytags customer service has the computer control board alone cost $160.00 plus the service tech and his labor fees reaching in excess of $450.00. The CS rep gave me a repair discount to $267.00 and a week wait for the Service Tech for this problem to be fixed. I bought this machine on two premises - one for its price, it was the only machine that offered 3 spin jets that really do a good job in cleaning dishes and 2, I owned a 1984 Maytag dishwasher in another home with computer controls in the handle and to this day, that machine is still running flawlessly! My only issue with the 84 Maytag machine was after 4 years the door gasket went - too much soap - replaced and no issues since! I expected similar performance with this one. I guess I have to spend north of 3 bills for similar performance and quality. What was I thinking?

MF12665XEM7 - Maytag Refrigerator purchased from Home Depot. We initially thought it to be a good value until it started leaking puddles of water onto the floor to the front sides of the bottom freezer drawer. This event repeated itself and I feared the water would seep between the floor tiles and begin to degrade the sub flooring or possibly cause mold as well. Upon further investigation of lying on my side and pulling the bottom drawer open, I felt, what I thought to be ice on the bottom of the refrigerators floor. I gently inserted a smooth butter knife and with a nudge, a whole sheet of ice about one half inch thick, lifted from the refrigerator floor. I have since had to repeat this about every three weeks or so. Im nearing retirement and shouldnt have to lay on my floor like this to protect my floor and to keep my wife and I from a potential hazard of a slip and fall from this water on the floor! Dependability People? Hardly! I think they got outsourced! Im disgusted! Thank you!

Maytag used to make a great laundry machine. The barrel of the Bravos XL machine is very deep, and it is difficult to reach the bottom of the machine to get clothes out. My biggest complaint is that the clothes dont get clean; there is not enough water filling the machine to clean the clothes. The clothes get wet, but there is no agitator, and the water isnt deep enough to suspend the dirt and wash it away, even on the deep wash setting. There is also a lot of lint left on the clothes that cant rinse off. Why is the barrel of the machine so deep if it only fills up 1/6 of the height? I had great hopes, but I really regret buying it.

I owned an front loading Maytag Neptune Front Load Washer MAH5500 for more than 10 years and first 5 yrs doing 2-3 loads a day for a family of 12 so this machine held up well, and only issue we had with the machine was the rubber around outside needed to be replaced after about 9 yrs.

I purchased a Maytag Bravos XL at the end of June 2013 because my washer of 14 years finally quit. On the 2nd load of laundry I ran, the machine began making a terrible grinding noise. It sounds as if I am washing a load of rocks while its on the wash cycle. I immediately called the local store I purchased it from and they sent a technician out to look at the machine. He couldnt figure out why it was making this noise, so he called Maytags techs for assistance. They had him run a battery of tests and they finally determined they needed to replace the motor. Are you kidding me? On a brand new machine?! Now Im thinking I have a lemon for sure. They replaced the motor and the machine continues to make the same noise. Ive called Maytags Customer Service to let them know about the garbage theyre producing and all I got was attitude. The warranty only covers parts and does not replace machines, so Im stuck in the song and dance of lets try to figure this out and see how they can make this piece of junk work. I then asked to speak to a manager. She offered me a 6 month extended warranty for free. I guess thats a big sign that Im going to need it since what they are producing is garbage. Whatever happened to customer satisfaction? Its now just the too bad attitude. Now, I feel like Im being held hostage by my machine because I have to take time off of work for appointments with service technicians. Wheres Maytags compensation for my time and the hassle of having to deal with this? I paid $1000 for something and I guess its too much to ask for it to actually work. I am all for buying American (the machine had a sticker, proudly made in Ohio) but if this is the quality of work that they are producing they should be embarrassed to work for this company. I will never buy a Maytag again and am making it my mission to warn others of my expensive mistake!

I purchased a Maytag (as Maytag was always rated the Best) and from the start was not happy with the product. I contacted Maytag (Whirlpool, the makers of Maytag) and was told to get stains out, you had to pre-soak and scrub the area... really? Then I might as well just hand wash all of my clothes and hang to dry. I would not need a washer. My clothes do not come clean at all. DO NOT PURCHASE A MAYTAG (or I think any washer Whirlpool makes as they do not back their products).Prior to this, I had a Whirlpool washer with agitator and loved the washer. Clothes were always clean, and I did not have to pre-soak stains for them to come clean. Go Figure! I have never been so disappointed in a washer or company. I am now looking to purchase a new washer as I have had it with this one... and it wont be a product made by Whirlpool.

From the beginning, the blower motor (for the control panel? never needed one before) was too noisy. I just bought the oven from Lowe’s. They sent out a repairman. He replaced the motor, but has exactly the same level of noise. It is bad design/engineering. Im going to try some other brand. One problem is that you cant listen to the fan noise before you buy the oven and install it. And there are no decibel requirements or ratings. Industry regulations need improvement. Model MEW7527A, bought new in Dec. 2012.

I have the Maytag Bravos washer and dryer. The machine has broken several times every year, and every year, Maytag makes me feel like it is my fault. They built a machine, and they do not stand behind it. And I cannot get a local machinist to work on it. I have asked Maytag to replace it from the start, and they refused, telling me its out of warranty. The only thing out of warranty is the frame--all parts are new. Here is the history:On 1/04/2008, I purchased it from Home Depot, and it cost $815. Then in 4/2009, there was an F51 code, and Maytag replaced the mother board after long hold times and much pleading to help me. They said they could do nothing, because it was out of warranty. It took manager to manager to manager to get the agreement to extend the warranty. (I then found that this was a regular Maytag issue.)From 9/2010 to 10/2010, an ld code occurred. The approved Maytag scheduled service had to come out 4 different times to attempt to fix the issue. One time, they said it was broken wires for the drain pump. The next, it was off balance; and the next, it was a sensor. Then the next time, they replaced the mother board again, and again after much argument that the part was less than a year old. Each time, they get more and more difficult to deal with and made me feel more and more like I am asking them for something unreasonable. The service guys said the washer was like new.... All new parts and I would never have a problem again. It cost $80 after argument, and Maytag covered the parts.Last 2/2011, problems include a fast spin, ld code, and off balance; and it stopped working. It needed new suspension rods which cost $250. Maytag paid nothing. Then in 8/2011, ld code started again, and I would have to turn off to drain and then restart to spin. Maytag called in a service call, and they never showed up. Every time, they said they read over my file and that theres nothing they can do to help me. And no one else for me to speak to.In 10/2011, the ld code came on permanently. The Maytag call I made this time again said there was nothing they could do to help me.I am so frustrated; I dont know what to do next. I threw away an older set working washer and dryer, thinking I made a great decision to upgrade to this new set. Now my family of 5 cannot wash our clothes. No one will work on the washers locally, and Maytag treats me like Im complaining for nothing and I should just spend endless dollars to fix this machine. And Im at a loss. I had to get a part for the dryer the other day, and the parts store person told me that this washer is one of Maytags mistakes. if that is so, why wont they help me?

We bought a new Maytag top load washer March 2018. July of 2021 it starts making the worst racket Ive ever heard. I thought at first that there was a dog being killed by another animal. As I ran to the door I realized it was my washer. Long story short, repair guy said itd be cheaper to just buy a new washer. Maytag did nothing to help us resolve the issue of a 3 yr old machine totally useless. We bought this machine because we thought it would last for years. I mean their commercial shows the repair guys doing nothing because Maytags never need service. My new machine is not a Maytag. No more Maytags for me.

I have always heard Maytag was one of the best so after replacing too many washers to count in 15 years, like Whirlpool and Kenmore, I decided to spend more for quality. I figured pay a few hundred more once rather than spending $400 for a cheaper one that only lasts 3 or 4 years. That choice seemed environmentally responsible and financially as well. However, I couldnt have been more wrong. In 2016 I purchased the Maytag Centennial top loader for $500. I really loved the size of the tub and the way it looked. I can fit a large comforter in it with plenty of room leftover. I also have no interest in a front loader after reading reviews. So I thought this was going to be great! Well it hasnt been. It has broken 3 times. The circuit board twice and now the bearings are going out in the motor. I fixed it the first two times but now Im done. Im done with Maytag, Aka Whirlpool. I think it will be a Speed Queen for me now. Im hoping it wont be a dud also because they are pricey! It actually scares me to spend that kind of money. I have really lost my faith in most companies nowadays. Customer service and quality has gone out the window. I think about how much this impacts the environment! Its terrible that appliances only last a few years before they end up in the landfill.

This refrigerator has been my worst nightmare come true. Everything existent freezes: salads, tomatoes, berries, cherries, milk, water, etc. Never again will I purchase a Maytag product. Service is non-existent.

I like most others have experienced the same issues with the new Maytag top load WM. In addition my new machine dances across the floor like a drunk leprechaun. After Lowes told me that with my extended warranty Id have to miss work and pay 100 bucks for a service call I emailed Maytag. Needless to say they didnt even respond. Ive have learned a few valuable lessons. Dont assume that more money means better merchandise. Made in America doesnt say much. And please dont buy Maytag.

We are having the same problems with the drain clogging and bottom of the freezer filling with ice and then water all over the floor. We currently de-ice the freezer once a week. After paying top dollar for what is advertised as a top product, we expect better service. Especially when Maytag is fully aware of this problem. We sent an email of complaint to Maytag. Heard from them today. They would pay for the replacement part but not the labor. Most places around here charge $250.00 just to walk in the door!!! Is Maytag kidding?!?! NEVER AGAIN. Will also tell anyone who will listen to stay away from Maytag. No wonder they dont belong to the Consumer Resources group!!

Oven worked ok for a year and went under right day after warranty expired. I called factory-approved repair people in Brooklyn but was told repair would cost more than buy new oven. I contacted factory but got no help either.

Maytag Centennial washer - Bought this washer brand new and after the first 2 months started having issues. The washer took FOREVER to fill and to complete a basic load took literally an hour or more. Then within the next 7 months it stopped spinning out the final spin cycle. Spin light would flash as would lid lock but wouldn’t spin the water so I had to manually unplug the machine then plug in out cycle on drain and spin and that worked 50 percent of the time. Repairman came out and said could be a number of issues but he said honestly it would cost me a lot less to just go buy a new washer! This is INSANE! I grew up with the Maytag repairman commercials and thought Maytag was still top of the line but LEMME TELL YA, IT AINT! The Centennial is a total piece of crap so PLEASE don’t purchase this machine as I can promise you will NOT be satisfied! MAYTAG, STEP UP YOUR GAME BECAUSE YOU SUCK.

We purchased the MMV4205DS over the range microwave in June of 2015 & installed it in July the same year. We purchased the matching range & a dishwasher at the same time as they were running a promo of $150 rebate if all 3 were purchased. They denied us of $50 of the rebate & stated that all of the paperwork was not submitted on time. We received rebates on 2 of the appliances & paperwork for all. 3 were in the same mailing. Hmmm. We were told a 3rd party handles their rebate program. So much for taking ownership. Yesterday the door open message appeared on the control panel of the microwave & now there is nothing; no light, no fan--completely dead. So much for buying American. Maytag does not see that this is a problem? Do NOT buy Maytag!!!

I am 86 years old and have happily owned Maytag washers for many years. I just recently purchased the front loading model for ease of access. After using it for sometime, I could not be more disappointed. The clothes come out smelly, stained and gray. I tried using affresh washer cleaner on hot setting and the tablet did not even dissolve. There is black mold growing and must be cleaned constantly. I am so sad that my favorite company has let us down. I cannot afford to buy another washer so I am stuck with this lemon!

I received my Maytag dishwasher in November of 2013 from Home Depot (It was a month overdue the expected delivery date). It was installed by a certified electrician/contractor. By February of 2014, the control panel had to have its first replacement. It is now July 2014 and we are having the repairman come out to replace the third control panel this Monday. Supposedly there was a recall on the control panel and the one replaced less than a month ago was the improved/repaired one. We are beyond frustrated. I too sought Home Depot for help after the first repairman they suggested charged us almost half the cost of the dishwasher for his repair. I have already sunk over the price of the product into repairs. My Maytag dryer broke last week as well. Someone needs to get involved with this situation, perhaps a contact to the media? I think we are all being scammed and deserve refunds by Maytag for the dishwashers and our repair costs.

Purchased a new Maytag dishwasher just under 1 year ago. After a 5 months it started not working. We called the dealer - who gave us a number to call because it was under warranty. We called the number and it took days to get someone to look at it and not fix it. It needed a new part. Its been over a week now and we havent heard anything, and still no working dishwasher. Our last two dishwashers lasted over 18 years. Kenmore and Whirlpool, never had any issues. This is our first Maytag. Service has been snail pace slow. Dont buy a Maytag dishwasher unless you want to spend your life washing dishes.

Four years ago we upgraded our 20+ year old Maytag washer and dryer to go with a more water efficient model. The old units were working like champs so we upgraded with Maytag assuming it to be equal quality. From the beginning we were not pleased with the washers cleaning ability and now we have electrical problems and a leaking transmission. Our serviceman estimated repairs to be the cost of a new washer. (Im not talking about a Maytag for replacement.) I e-mailed the Maytag company and they basically said Too Bad. Totally disappointed!! Wish we had our old units back.

I just off the phone with Maytag and as expected the acted like they didnt know about the issue of fires and etc. Im a senior and also a widow. I have all Maytag appliances. But not anymore! My Maytag over the range microwave model number MMV4250AAW, would not shut off when I had it set to 1 minute on reheat. I unplugged it and now it wont come on at all even though the cord still has power. Dont buy Maytag! Maybe if they get messages from consumers, they might be interested in what we have to say.

I bought a Maytag Centennial Commercial washer, 3.8 cubic feet, Model # MVWC425BW on September 17, 2014. My clothes were never clean and barely wet. The machine took almost 2 hours to do a load of clothes and they werent even clean! I bought the 3-year extended warranty through Lowe’s. Three years and 8 days later the machine stopped working. Serviceman came out and told me the washer was fatally wounded. He said the transmission failed. He also told me the replacement part would be $400.00 and that it wasnt worth it. He said these machines are junk and Maytag has had all kinds of issues with them. So Maytag knows these machines fail and yet do nothing for their consumers. Maytag, you will only ride on your name for so long; consumers are catching on. Maybe back in my Moms day you were the go-to brand but Im afraid that ship has sailed. Ive always gone with Maytag but now I question that choice. I came on Consumer Affairs page to see what brand I could buy other than Maytag. Seems Kenmore gets high marks.

Maytag MVWC300BW clothes washer makes holes in heavy duty T shirts & sheets. It stretches clothing. We are following directions in loading without success. We are washing everything on the gentle cycle twice to get the clothes clean without destroying them. Today we were stood up for our third service call.

Was so excited to get this machine so that I could wash larger loads, including blankets, but unfortunately the machine didnt really clean as expected. That was very frustrating, but even more upsetting was when it began to sound like a jet engine when in the spin cycle. In researching this online, we have discovered that it is probably the bearings. When we called for service from the local store where we purchased the washer and dryer, we were told that it will likely cost at least $600 to repair. We have looked online to see if it is something that we can do ourselves, but really dont want to attempt this as it will require some heavy lifting and a lot of time. I am amazed that a machine like this would fail in such a short period of time and would like to add my name to the list of people who will not buy Maytag again! If a class action suit is ever filed against Maytag for this poor excuse for a washer, count me in, but unfortunately I will probably need to buy a new one before much longer.

I bought a Maytag washer and dryer so many years ago that I have forgotten when it was. They have performed admirably under trying conditions. Our washer finally needs replacing due to the buildup of scale from our very hard well water. This after about 30 years of good service. Looking to replace them and will probably buy another Maytag set when they go on sale.

Dishwasher MAYTAG MDB7749SBM - Have the same problem as everyone else, panel board. Initially lights randomly blinked, flashed etc, but still washed dishes. Now it has completely died. Dishwasher is 3 years old.

First off, the drum split apart on the dryer. The drum part was not in this country, so instead of going ahead and replacing the clothes dryer, they told me to hang the clothes outside for six weeks or whenever the part comes in. That was three months after owning the piece of junk. I was having a bad day already, so I basically completely lost it. Im surprised I didnt get arrested for that. I wont ever lose my temper like that again. The clothes always smell bad, and sometimes really bad. Now, I find out that both washer and dryer could cause a fire. They are sending us a couple of really cheap GFCIs to keep them from a liability issue. Maytag is the absolute worst!

Maytag dishwasher model MDB4949SDE3: This dishwasher is the biggest POS that I have ever owned in 40 years. The first one would never turn on and fill with water and after it finally did it leaked on my new floor. Waited 10 days to have it replaced. The dishwasher cycle is 2.5 - 3.5 hours and the dishes come out dirty. The top rack is not adjustable to wash odd things. I feel that these dishwashers need to be replaced.

I made the mistake of buying a Maytag 2 years ago, this machine would not wash clothes even when using the deep water wash. I should have looked at it closer, it is so full of modern computer garbage that I was having to wash clothes twice so the water saving was negative. I own a business across from a major shopping center so what we did was we loaded it up in one of our trucks and parked it in front of our business with a giant sign and invited people to take a look before buying one. In 6 months we must have had at least a 1000 people inquire.

I purchased a topload washer two years ago and the plastic lid has been replaced 4 times because it cracks at the hinges. It is obviously a manufacturers defect that Maytag refuses to admit. They come up with excuses blaming the consumer instead of their bad design.

Our Bravos model mvwx0600xw0 is 5 years old. I have been dealing with the clothes getting tangled, dark colors full of lint and streaked since I had the machine. Recently the lid lock light has been blinking with 11 minutes left in the cycle. I thought maybe it was off balance, so I stopped the cycle and rearranged everything. Same thing happened again with the lid on the drain and spin cycle. After reading all the other reviews, I realize it is not worth fixing. So long Maytag. It was good knowing you when you sold quality!

I have two major issues with my stove. First is that you have to press enter after setting an oven temperature and it doesn’t even beep to remind you before just cutting off. Older, forgetful people like me have probably prepared countless dishes for the oven only to find that it is not preheated. The second is that if you turn on the timer, it cuts off the oven. You only make that mistake once before writing the timer off as useless. I have a hard time believing that they ran either of these by anyone who cooks! One other mixed feature, the heating element for the oven is below the floor of the oven. This causes it to preheat slower - which compounds problem #1 - but makes cleaning a breeze.

We purchased a front-load Maytag washing machine (Model MHW3505FW1) two years ago this month. When the machine is empty, we always leave to door open. We dont allow clothes to stay in it for long, never for more than a day (the load is usually changed as soon as the cycle is over). Right now, the rubber seal on the front has tons of black mold on it, and when I lift the seal to look underneath, its way worse. There have been many problems like this reported on front-loaders. Wish Id known! Maytag will not send a replacement seal.

We purchased a Maytag electric convection oven with a warming drawer 3 months ago. We have been happy with the cooking features, but not the Aqualift self-cleaning. It does not work and Maytag does not acknowledge this. Instead they have offered cleaning products to us which their own instructions tell you not to use! Does this sound like a self-cleaning oven? They have offered to send out a service person to check the temperature. However, from reading multiple reviews by others, there will likely be no satisfaction from this company.

I purchased My Maytag Washer and Dryer set from Lowe's, which was a very good experience all the way, back in June 2017. After two years I can finally give an honest review. We love this set even though it is not as quiet as the old Maytag washers. Still is but not as. We have not had one bit of trouble from either the washer or dryer. The next size larger would have been the better choice for us since we now have king size bedspreads to wash. It still does the job though, just one piece at a time. A lot of people complain about the smaller amount of water used but it still cleans clothes quite well. If you need more water just use deep water wash or for even more water use the setting for bulky sheets which really fills up the water level.

We bought this from our local big box retailer paying $433.87 after installation, the oven, haul away and home delivery. Two years and 3 months later its a boat anchor. Display is cold and dark after stating we needed to open and close the door before it would heat. We did but it kept displaying the same message. Unplugged it, turned circuit off per Maytag customer service line, still nothing. It is no longer made and you cant get parts. It is useless. The 10 year warranty just covers the magnet and the cavity.

Before you purchase a Maytag washing machine...from anywhere (I got mine at Home Depot), think again. This machine doesnt wash clothes, it doesnt rinse clothing. What it does is takes forever to fill up the tub then it doesnt even come close to filling it to where all the clothing is covered for rinsing or washing, then it just stops and sits there for a few minutes (??) and then it proceeds to empty the tub and youre supposed to feel like your clothes were cleaned.Not in a million years will your clothing get cleaned in a Maytag washing machine. Youve been warned...dont waste your money. Go to a used appliance shop, but the best one they have that does NOT have the Govt. regs built into it, and be happy you saved as much money and did NOT have to go through all the frustration and hassle everyone else has that bought a new Maytag washing machine.

I purchased a product less than one year ago. The clothes are getting snagged in seam on interior of the front panel. I went back to the store and felt the same gap in the seam on the panel on a floor model, so I know it is not just my machine. I called Maytag service and a representative acknowledged the problem but also said that if there is no fix for it, I would be charged for a service call even if no part was replaced- quite a contradictory statement. She said she doubles as the Complaint Department. If this is a manufacturing defect, it should be replaced. The front panel should be recalled.

I purchased my Maytag side by side refrigerator 11/2011 and by 3/2012 the compressor went out flooding my pool house floor. Maytag replaced the entire fridge because I was only a few months old. I bought the 2 year extended warranty, went down to the pool house (which has central heat and air) and the compressor has gone out again! The results leaving my baseboards molded! My warranty went out 3/17/2015 and Maytag is helping NONE! The only thing they have to say is you can buy a new repair one warranty for $363 to repair for one year. I have had this refrigerator for 3.5 years and now this is the second time its gone out! Customer service said, pool house is different than a regular kitchen. I told her that the pool house is 1,000 sq heated/cooled kitchen, bathroom, sitting room. Thats no different than some houses. Why would that make a difference?? My parents have a 30 year old fridge on the back porch thats still running! I will NEVER purchase another MAYTAG product! Stainless side by side with ice maker.

We purchased our Maytag Bravos XL last month and within two weeks, we were noticing a BAD odor every time we used the machine. In fact, I just walked back into our house from outside and the entire house smells like old dirty dishwater and the smell is coming from the laundry room! This is a very expensive washing machine and we bought it because we thought that a Maytag would be better than the Whirlpool that just died after many years of repairs and aggravation. After reading these reviews, I wish I had bought a Speed Queen.

Maytag dishwasher MDB7749SBM2 - I purchased this unit from Home Depot. It worked fine when working. In less than two years the control panel had issues. Would not let you start cycle, would randomly start on its own, would light up randomly, would only let one cycle work, would not work at all, etc. I received no help from Maytag. After open up the door panel the problem is obvious. The ribbon cable from touch (control) panel to control board had black spots from corrosion. Poorly insulated or poor design. $150 for part and another $100+ for repairman. As Ive seen from several of these posts it appears to be a common problem now to Maytag, which they choose to ignore in spite of class action lawsuits. Obviously last Maytag product Ill ever buy.

I purchased my dishwasher exactly two years ago. We are empty nesters so it has had light use. Today, when I tried to start it, the control panel would not work. Thanks to what I found in your site. I will not take a day off of work to wait for a repairman only to have it fail a second time. It is hard for me to believe a company that builds its reputation on a bored repairman would produce a product with a faulty control panel and not do something about it. Like your other folks, I will never buy another Maytag product and will not the waste the money to repair it. I am going out tomorrow to buy another dishwasher and throw this one away.

What a disappointment. I guess this is why we no longer see that commercial about the Maytag repairman being bored. Because now, he is out fixing these pieces of shirt. Bought the Model MZD2766GEW and the MSD2454GRW side by side models of the Maytag side by side and the wide side by side from Home Depot in the year 2002 replacement appliances after a fire. For both units I paid $2526.92 dollars plus tax to put one in my kitchen and one in my basement. I was told by a plumber Maytag was the best, buy Maytag. It seems like from day one things went wrong. The ice maker kept building ice in the bottom of both freezers. The ice maker never worked right and would build up so much ice in the dispensing area, you would open the door and ice would fall all over the floor and you would have to take a knife to the shoot of the ice maker to unclog it. The drawers would freeze, the vegetables and anything in them, you had to keep the refrigerator temp to Zero and things would still freeze. Water eventually would leak all over the floor and I couldnt figure out where it was coming from. The freezers on the left but then water seem to be running to the right and out the refrigerator part. I couldnt afford to call anybody and the warranty was running out. I had 2 year parts and one year labor but at the time couldnt afford the service call charge. Eventually I was sent a recall notice for a compressor or such. I thought, Hurray, It will be fixed. Not at all. He replaced both those parts on both refrigerators and after he left it started leaking again. I called Maytag and they said, did he replace the part that was recalled? I said yes and they said They were not obligated to pay for anything past the recall. I should call and have the units serviced by a technician at my cost. If he says its the recall piece again, to call them back. Again I had no money to call a technician right away but when I did, he came to the house, told me it wasnt the recall and claimed to fix some kind of defrost sensor which cost $180.00 for the parts plus labor, plus service call and this had been a different technician than the first. He left and the problem continued to leak, freeze etc. In fact it seemed worse. I gave up calling and decided to deal with it hoping one day to replace but money problems happen and it is now 2014 I never could afford new refrigerators and have had to put up with the leak for all these years and continue to pick up and replace soaked towels everyday. In 2005 I disabled the ice maker which helped when I opened the door since ice doesnt fall out but both Refrigerators continue to make thick sheets of ice on the bottom and food is frozen into it so I cant use the bottom and when the buildup gets so bad it takes 2 days to defrost by shutting the entire unit off. All I can do is put my food in one freezer and refrigerator while the other defrosts. I also have turned the downstairs one off completely. Now as a second refrigerator I just dont trust keeping it on leaking also. I bought these units after a whole house fire and the last thing I want is another fire because Maytag just doesnt care but I cant afford new Refrigerators because these repairman and Maytag cant figure out whats wrong and fix the problem with this dangerous feature and I call it that because it seems to come with most of their units from when I bought the unit till now.12 years later people are still having the same problem with the same and copy cat units. Maytag, a plea goes out to you to recall and repair these units. The original recall did not work and like me a lot of people need to be redeemed for what you left go on and a lot of repairmen are ripping off people calling this problem what its not and stealing our money when you know what the problem is and can fix it. My plea is recall this problem or be responsible before God or who you believe in for letting it go on so long and the damage it may cost people. Maytag, people use to love you but youve ripped our hearts out and it will cost you in the long run.

We purchased this oven (MGR5775QDS ) along with a Refrigerator/Freezer, Dishwasher and Microwave on 2007 when we remodeled our kitchen. Since then the Refrigerator had to be serviced twice, the Dishwasher had a recall for fire safety - repaired, but I still have a scorched bottom tray, and the oven after self cleaning once has warped and the racks will not hold anything with any weight without collapsing. Maytag sent me new racks about a year ago, but that didnt help. I grill most of my meals or cook on the stovetop but on the rare occasion we try and use the oven it’s a nightmare. We lost a Thanksgiving Turkey and Easter Ham and recently a lasagna and a glass pan. Every time we have one of these events I search the internet in hopes that there has been some kind of recall on this model. It’s not safe. When the 20 lb turkey came crashing down, my wife was nearly burned by the juices that splattered and the house filled up with smoke. Happy Thanksgiving from Maytag - everyone go stand outside in the cold for 1/2 an hour while we clear out the smoke in the house. Recently when the rack collapsed and hot lasagna came crashing down, the glass/pyrex tray broke and left a huge bubbly mess in the bottom of the oven. Yay Maytag, thanks again - ruined a dinner, broke a dish and since we can’t use the self clean option, spent the rest of the evening scrubbing out the oven... and eating takeout food on Valentine’s Day. Sounds like the perfect Romantic evening right? I am so sickened with this company. We purchased all Maytag appliances because of their reputation. But now they dont even stand behind their products. I purchased the top load Maytag Commercial Residential washer with an agitator last month. I wanted a basic washer with Hot/Warm/Cold settings, Delicate/Normal/Heavy Duty cycles, Small/Medium/Large loads. I paid over $800 for this washer and I cannot wash my whites or rags in hot water! The hot water setting dispenses hot water, then cold water, back and forth. The end result is cool water. Ive called Maytag, Ive been told that there is nothing that can be done about it, thats how theyre made to be considered HE. I asked them why they even put a hot or warm water setting on the washer.You have no control over the water level, all cycles except for normal run in a deep water setting (full drum of water), I dont know why delicates are in a deep water setting. I only wash a couple pieces of delicates together. I end up using a lot more water and detergent with this washer. I hope we dont have to conserve water in the next few years! So though this washer uses less hot water energy, it wastes a lot of water, my water bill goes up and my detergent is used up much quicker! I cannot add time to my wash cycle, (the actual washing/agitation cycle is very short - 10 minutes) it has to drain all of the water and re-start the cycle with more water! $800 is a lot of money for a washer that doesnt wash like my old cheap washer. The local store cant do anything about it and Maytag brushed me off.

I just saw that there had been a class action lawsuit settled in 2005 for the Maytag Neptune front load washer and I was never notified as an owner! I have this crummy product and have been living with it for more than 10 years! I just scheduled a repairman to replace the moldy gasket (for the second time) and the noisy pump, and a latch that has to be slammed for a sum of $438. What a crock. I was told this was a top of the line model when I purchased it for $999. Ive never had such a piece of junk before in my life. I run loads of bleach weekly to control the mildew.

I bought Maytag frost-free refrigerator last August 2006. But now, I noticed that ice builds up in the freezer. The product is only five years old but I was told by Whirlpool that they had discontinued making defrost heater. The reason why I bought Maytag was the ad on TV showing the Maytag service technician seating and doing nothing, implying that Maytag brand is a good product. Think again before buying Maytag products.

Last year we replaced a Maytag dishwasher which had a faulty control panel after just a few years of light use (There are just the two of us). It was going to cost almost as much to repair it as to buy a new dishwasher, so we opted for an $800 model (MDB8959AWW6) with a control panel across the top of the door. There had been a recall on that first Maytag for the heating element or something, so we decided to put the credit towards a machine that would last us for years, we hoped!We have been in this house for 18 years and the original cheap builder-installed dishwasher lasted for 12 years. In fact, there was nothing wrong with it when we replaced it with the last one. Whatever happened to the lonely Maytag repair man? We did not buy an extended warranty, but I can see now that probably these things are only meant to last the lifetime of the warranty.We are semi-retired and cannot afford to have the dishwasher repaired, so it will be a decoration in the kitchen from on. Never ever will I recommend Maytag to anyone! One bad experience should have been enough, and we probably would not have bought a Maytag again had it not been for the credit we got for the product recall on the last one!

I purchased a washer on 8/13/12. I had it installed on 8/20/12. It did not clean clothes properly. I went to Two Guys and they said they dont take returns and told me to call Maytag. I called Maytag and they sent a a service agent to check the machine on 9/10/12. They said the machine codes were imbalanced and over stud. They need to recalibrate the machine. I did laundry the same day and still find clothes do not come clean. I need to return the machine. I called Maytag and was told they dont take returns. This machine is not cleaning clothes as it should be and I want a refund!

On 12/09/12, I purchased a Maytag washer, model mvwc200xw, from our local Menards store. About 6 months ago, the washer started making a slight banging noise, and would occasionally move in the spin cycle. Now, when washing a small to medium size load, the banging noise is very loud and does a lot of moving. I found nothing in the troubleshooting guide to help me on this, so I looked on-line and found several websites discussing this same problem. They stated that the problem was a snubber assembly and the replacement part would cost $4.55. They also said the washer would have to be taken apart to change out this $4.55 part.I watched a you-tube video of someone changing this part and quickly came to the conclusion that I would need help in doing this. A comment was left in the video from a Maytag repairman saying that the person changing this part was not doing it in a safe manner. The repairman stated that changing it in the way this person described in the video was DANGEROUS! I wrote an email to Maytag customer service explaining the problem and asked if there was anything they could do to help me on this 1 1/2 year old washer. I received an immediate email stating they would get back to me in 3 days. Ten days later, I finally received a reply. I was told there was nothing they could or would do even though I was a valued customer and that they understand and appreciate my feelings of disappointment.I worked for a large department store from 1970 to 1990 and sold appliances, one of them being the Maytag brand. At that time, they were considered to be a top of the line brand. This was why I purchased Maytag appliances for over 40 years. I am surprised and saddened to see a lot of on-line complaints against Maytag appliances and also that this 1 1/2 year washer needs to be repaired so soon. Obviously, times have changed. I figured it would cost me at least $100.00 to have this washer repaired. Rather than do that, I am going to take this in need of repair to a scrape recycling center and then go out and buy a new washer, but it will not be Maytag! Maytag will never disappoint me again!

Horrible machine. Uses too little water, cycles are too long. No matter what the size of the load, it takes an hour. Just after 3 years the bearing went out on the machine. Cost for repair will be $250. Thats not even an electronic problem which Im sure would be next. NO THANKS. Im getting a new machine and it wont be a Maytag.

My washer is less than 3 years old when I noticed the bleach dispenser has filled with water. I soaked the water out with a towel only to have it fill again the next time I washed. This in addition to the feeling I have that too much soap is left in clothes and spot removal is pretty consistently negligible.

Bought va washer. Trying to upgrade. Water fills about 1/3 of way even on bulky setting. Supposed to be high efficiency. Detergent does not get all the way out because there is no enough water. Have to put it through 2 rinse cycles. Worst machine. Design is flawed. Clothes all wrinkled. I cant afford to buy clothes and have them ruined. Man must have designed. Hate the washer. Im poor and they want take it back... want my money back. I cant buy washer every day. I will keep on complaining. No customer service. People just put you off. It is a Centennial high efficiency. A piece of junk.

Control panel is defective on my Maytag dishwasher. Found a phone number that was created to deal with this problem. I only had to hold for a few minutes but the first person I spoke to was rude and unhelpful so I asked to speak to someone else. When another agent came on the line I told her that only the normal and rinse button light up but do nothing when pressed. She arranged for a repairman to come to my house and determine if my control panel is defective at their cost. When he arrived he asked me what the problem was and I said, The touch pad control panel is not working. He stated, Your control panel needs to be replaced. I have to order the part and come back to fix it. He was there for about five minutes and he never laid a finger on the dishwasher. When I asked if the control panel design has been fixed he said, No, you will probably have to replace it again.There is a video on the internet that shows how to seal the electronics with silicone. The repairman said that they cannot seal the electronics unless Whirlpool provides a kit to do it. I guess the Maytag repairmen may have to come out of retirement. My husband will seal ours after it is replaced so we hopefully dont have to deal with this problem again. So now I am waiting to see if he returns in a reasonable time frame and gets my dishwasher going. There is a class action suit about this issue filed in 2013 about this defect.Updated on 09/23/2015: A repairman came to my home on August 20, 2015, at Whirlpools cost, and he determined my touch pad did not work. He informed me that Maytag would provide the part, free of charge, but it would cost me 85.00 for them to come back and install it in 2-3 days. As of today I am still waiting for the part to come in, apparently due to high demand Maytag was out of touch pads, which were out of stock. No idea of when that would be, the repairmans company said, dont call us, we will call you when the part arrives. So I began to look for the part myself, found a couple on an auction site, but most companies that sold parts were on backorder. Until I found a company that said their inventory was out of stock but they had five, stashed in the back. The price of 105.00 was not that much more than the 85.00 cost for the service call. Got it in two (2) days, installed (in about five minutes), sealed by my husband and I loaded it and washed my dishes. I was so overcome with relief, tears came to my eyes and I almost fell out. I give five star to the fella that had the part stashed until I needed it.The Maytag repairman is still waiting for the part so he can fix my dishwasher.

If I could give less than one star I would. I purchased a Maytag range in September 2021, 33 days later the oven went out!! I have been fighting trying to get it repaired for months!!! The parts are not in, the parts have been shipped, oops we forgot to ship the parts, the technician is on vacation. You name it, I have heard it. After the phone call today, it looks like I will still be without a range at Christmas!! This is totally unacceptable. I purchased a Maytag because I assumed it was a good brand! Do yourself a favor... Never buy a Maytag or Whirlpool Appliance. Its not worth it. For the range to only work for 32 days is just plain Wrong....

We bought a New Condo, all New Maytag appliances with a 10 yr. warranty, the microwave is a built-in model. I cant believe weve only been here a year and eight months and it just stop working. We use it for heating and short timed cooking like 1 to 2 minutes. I would think a name brand product would last a lot longer than this. I had an off brand microwave for five years before the condo. A couple of times the microwave door didnt close, I thought I forgot to close it. But after reading your reviews I now realize its one of the defects of the product. I called the Maytag company, they informed me that if a serviceman come out to fix it, it will cost me $180 until they can determine if the cause is something covered by their warranty??? The Home Builders bought Maytag junk and passed us the cost, now Maytag wants me to pay to see if their junk can be fixed??? Wow!!! This is unbelievable!

I spent extra money on a commercial grade Maytag dryer $1300 before taxes because it had a 10 year warranty. The motor and drum quit - and Maytag refuses to honour the warranty. I am appalled by their dishonesty and lack of integrity. I do not recommend them to anyone.

I have never liked the stove because it is too small (it came with the triplex) and it has porcelain like top. One burner burns to hot, the other three mediocre, there isnt enough space between the burners and the back of the stove. It doesnt cook evenly and it really does not have a low or simmering setting. You cant set a timer for simmering because it cooks too fast. The knobs are stuck and sometimes wont light when you turn them down. The oven is okay, but could be better. Wish it had self cleaning. The broiler in no existence. Food way too close to the flames. We have had this oven since we bought the triplex back in 2011.

I bought a Maytag washer November Thanksgiving of 2013. This washer started giving problems three months after; problems such as the cycle stop turn over properly, the light would say wash but its not washing. It would just stop but the light stuck on wash for long periods of time. Press the pause/start/cancel button, it would sometimes start again and stop and let out the water quickly. The clothes would be filled with water and not wash properly. This the funny part, serious funny part. I contacted Maytag on countless time. They had me on hold so long I had to hang up; a hold for hour I am talking about. One day I finally got through. They gave me a number to contact because where I am located there is no tech. I never got anyone but the machine when I called the number after countless times of trying. I decided to called back Brandsmart, because I just think its not right and fair to me to purchase a washer for so much, to had it shipped for more money. It didnt last me NO time at all and I cannot get any help. Well! Brandsmart told had to have paid export shipping, something I never was offered and since I took it out of the country, there is nothing they can do for me. I hunted for my receipt and to this day I I still have it. All was offered was warranty parts and labor for a month, thirty days. I said no because I would not think anything would go wrong in that short period of time. Nevertheless was not offered any export shipping warranty like what they are trying to ** me with. Here is my receipt number **. I grieve presently how I was just robbed of my money so openly when all I wanted was a replacement.

I purchased a Maytag refrigerator (MBR2258XES4) from Home Depot in 2012. I bought a five year extended warranty. It started leaking at the bottom. Repairmen said defrost drain clogged not covered! Cost: $180. DO NOT BUY MAYTAG, N.E.W. (Asurion Co.) warranties or Home Depot appliances! This is text book deceptive advertising. At no time did Home Depot associates in Kitchen and Bath departments say that this common design flaw existed and that it was not covered under the N.E.W. Asurion warranty which cost me an an additional $150.00! I am interested in joining a class action lawsuit against Home Depot and Asurion Co (N.E.W.) warranties.

Model #MDB8959SAS1 MAYTAG Dishwasher - purchased in 2014 at Home Depot. First we had to replace the rack adjuster, and after that another part broke. Finally, the electrical control board totally melted and smelled up the house. Fortunately our breaker switch worked and it didnt cause a fire. But Ive read other reviews of this happening with Maytag dishwashers where there was a fire. It now resides at the landfill.

This dishwasher has an electronic control panel that is faulty. Within one year of purchase, the control panel shorted out. It was replaced under warranty. Almost exactly a year after that, the same part failed for the same reason. This time, Maytag refused to replace it for free since it was out of warranty. A new control panel would have cost over $250. Disappointed with this Maytag product and their refusal to replace an obviously defective part, I decided to buy a new dishwasher from another manufacturer. Also, it did not make sense to me to spend that kind of money to replace a part that would continue breaking every year. AVOID Maytag dishwashers with electronic control panels!

I have had my Maytag Bravo for 5 years now. I originally paid 1800.00 for the set. And yes that is without the tax. Well I also got a warranty. Three years after I purchased my set my dryer stopped drying my clothes. I called the warranty company for a repair man and lo and behold my warranty is over. The repairman came and said that my lint was backed up. He stated that it was a good thing that I called when I did because they have been known to catch on fire. I asked him how is this possible? I check my lint screen and clean it after every load. He stated that the lint falls off the screen and just settles at the bottom of the dryer. And sometimes the dryer will get so hot that it will actually set the lint on fire. He fixed it but now it is back to doing the same thing two short years later. Im thinking that Maytag must know about this now and I am wondering why they havent did a recall on these before someone gets hurt or even worse by trying to do laundry.

Works like a Dream!! My dryer is an older model Maytag and it works wondrous. I have tried the newer energy efficient kinds and I feel like they dont dry well or make my clothes smell clean. My older maytag works fast, efficiently and I love how my clothes feel fluffed and smell fantastic!

This machine that I bought 2 1/2 years ago is very loud. Sounds like a helicopter that is going to hit the house. Last week the machine did not empty and would not spin. What a mess. We had to take the clothes out and try to wring them out by hand. Then we had to scoop all the water out. Had to call a repairman to fix it. $187 which included two trips to the house and a new pump. The pump was $56. Just the last year my grandson came to live with us, but before that there were just two of us in the house to do laundry for.

We purchased a Maytag 4.2-cu ft High Efficiency Top Load Washer from Lowes. The pump went out within 6 weeks of purchase. Maytag could not get a technician to come to our area to fix the washer. They finally told me they would give me $150.00 for labor if I found someone to fix it. We ended up taking it to a Maytag certified repair shop. It cost us a $99.00 service fee. They ordered a new pump from Maytag, part cost 137.46. I called to get a reimbursement from Maytag and they denied my claim. Their reason I was told was because I didnt call the part in myself. I dont understand why they didnt even reimburse the $99.00. The washer was a lemon and Maytag did not honor their offer, nor the warranty. Very time consuming and bad experience.

Washer Model MVWC555DWO. I dont like this machine. I thought Maytag is a good brand name, but I dont think so anymore. The engineers who designed these new machines with the water level saver dont do laundry. In order to get the cloth covered with water, I have to use the bulky sheet level. I have 2 jeans and a sheet that got holes in them, because the water level was not right. I would have my old machine repaired, if I have know how my new one would do. Im stuck with this machine. I dreaming that this machine breaks down soon and I can buy a new that has a better water level. My old one had water saver level too, but did a great job with the water level.

If I could give this a 0-Star rating, I would! I cant believe Maytag would make such an awful washing machine! Within the first 2 weeks I called their service department because (in my opinion) the washer wasnt washing properly. It took over a month and several calls to get someone out to look at the washer & dryer. According to the technician, both machines were operating properly. Apparently the washer is designed to destroy clothing and bedding! The gentle cycle set on deep fill will add just enough water to get the clothing wet, then agitates for about 10 minutes, then it fills up, agitates for 3 more minutes and drains. During the 10 minute dry-run, I watch my clothes get destroyed! I have never seen anything like this! My sweaters are shredded, my tops are pilled up & in a garment bag this thing managed to destroy a sports bra! This machine has ripped my mattress cover in several places and pulled my sheets from excessive rubbing due to not enough water. And what is up with the slow fill? The technician informed me that the trickling water is also normal. If I could return this washer, I would! I will never buy another Maytag because my Bravos washer died after only 4 years, and this one is brutal!

At 36 months old, my Maytag refrigerator has already suffered from a Freon leak. After repair, the leak continued causing the fridge not to produce ice. After another Freon charge 7 days later, the fridge will freeze ice only in a manual ice tray. The water in the ice maker for whatever reason will not freeze? To make matters even worse, the freezer fan has been noisy for the last year. Maytags solution is to purchase extended warranty for $300 plus or hire repair person at $100 for first hour. A 36 month old refrigerator is in essence a disposable item. Basically for a $700 fridge… that breaks down to about $20.00 per month service charge and then it’s time to replace!

Maytag Dryer- Bravos XL - Waiting for my third service call since purchasing my dryer less than 2 months ago. After 2 service calls the repairman found a piece of the mold that should have been removed at the factory causing problems. Now, my dryer made a weird noise, sparks flew and it no longer works. After calling the seller and the manufacturer requesting a replacement, they feel it should be repaired (again).

Like other reviewers, I am having issues regarding the control board panel for MAYTAG Dishwasher Model Number MDB7749SAM0. The unit was less than 3 yrs old when the control board panel malfunction issue began. I feel like this is a manufacturing defect and the company should be responsible for repairing/replacing the control board panel. I contacted Maytag numerous times regarding this, but customer service continues to tell customers there is NO warranty after one year from purchase date, and they are saying there is no recall or other reported issues regarding the Maytag’s control board at this time. However, I have found numerous online complaints and reviews about the very same issue I am having and same poor customer service. Since MAYTAG does not seem to care about their customer’s concerns regarding their product breaking in I feel that the only solution is DO NOT PURCHASE MAYTAG dishwasher brand again. I have had other brands last much much longer than this one did.

We bought a new commercial Maytag washer. It’s deep, it has the agitator, suppose to be the top of the line. I can do sheets and the top ones are dry when done. It doesnt get clothes clean especially if they are really dirty. So I add water to this wonderful machine——anyone wanting pictures of finished clothing I would be glad to send to you. Dirty jeans come out dirty jeans. If I forget and don’t add water it’s worse. So I watched it. It fills up to maybe halfway on clothes and this is on heavy soil and deep fill. I complained about it at the store and was told “he had one and it did fine” and you can’t get any that do any better.

My dishwasher just stopped working 1 year after purchase. Apparently a control panel issue. I have sold Maytag appliances for over 10 years and this is the thanks I get Maytag... Unreal. I wont buy a Maytag, Amana, Whirlpool, Jenn-Air, KitchenAid, etc.

I purchased this oven about 6 months ago. This is my second Maytag oven which I had for 18 years. I am extremely disappointed in the quality of this oven. I did my homework and shopped around and chose another Maytag. First, the ignitor clicks and clicks but doesnt ignite. After 4-5 times I have to shut the oven off and restart it. But worse than that is the enamel on top. The quality is HORRIBLE. You cannot use anything but a soapy sponge to clean the top. With my last oven I was able to use anything (softscrub, ajax, the scrubber side of a sponge) and the top was shiny clean. My stove top is covered with scratches and is not even thoroughly clean. There are grease spots around the burners that if I scrub any harder Ill take the enamel off completely. Very, very poor quality. Will never buy another Maytag.

I have always hated soft touch control panels so I purchased a Maytag Dishwasher with old style push buttons. IT DID NOT CLEAN THE DISHES, so Lowes took it back and I was convinced to UPGRADE to an MDB7749SBB0 and was told this machine was top of the line, although it was VERY temperamental from the start. I guess I should have done my homework. I see now several complaints about the control panels not working. I was told that MAYTAG was a very reputable company and that they stand behind their product. WRONG!. The company KNOWS these panels have problems and should replace them free of charge as it is obviously a defect. Nope, first they offer to send someone out (In a week) to repair it at $80 just to look at it and the panel is over $100 to replace, and when I complained they tried to sell me extra coverage for $250. REALLY? What is the purpose of purchasing a QUALITY dishwasher? I might as well purchase a cheap dishwasher and replace it when it breaks. I think you should be responsible for your product when you have several complaints on a specific part.

I bought the Maytag Centennial Washer a year ago. I have had nothing but problems. The clothes never get fully wet so you have to wash clothes 2 or 3 times. The lid does not open when running. So you cant put soap after the clothes are damp. I say damp because they dont get wet. Right now the sensing light has been on for 2 hours. I need to catch a flight in the morning and I cannot wash my clothes! My white clothes never get clean. I have to wash 2 or 3 times. Actually 4 time would work better. The water and electric wasted with washing over and over again is nuts. Stay away. Ive warned you!

Brand new washing machine model MHW8200FW purchased at Karls, a Ferguson subsidiary, in Madison, NJ end of June, 2017. I wanted to buy a top of the line machine and this is what the sales person recommended to me. Problems started soon after purchase. Initially I contacted Maytag because the machine wouldnt spin dry a cotton bath mat weighing 4.5lbs soaking wet. I was told I should put more items in the machine to help balance it. Well there WERE more items and the machine wouldnt spin dry them either. I tried every trouble shooting Maytag suggested. Having exhausted my nerves, I called for service. The technician came and said these machines are extremely sensitive and that sometimes they wont even run an empty cycle. He said this is a common complaint with these units. One of his suggestions was to take bath mats, duvets, comforters... articles like that to a laundromat.I did less than 10 wash cycles after his visit when the washer started having more issues and finally broke down completely. The technician who came this time wrote a repair order indicating a mechanical (Stator) AND electrical (Control Panel) breakdown ($500+ for the parts alone if the unit wasnt under warranty). He also stated that he had never seen such problems in a brand new machine.I contacted Maytag for an exchange. Maytag customer service wrote to me that the breakdowns are ... normal, with all the units we sell some may have a defect in the first couple of months... and refused to exchange my defective unit. I can accept that there may be a defect that will warrant a repair, but in this case there are multiple defects in separate systems - mechanical and electrical - within the first month of service. This shouldnt warrant any further discussion, only a quick replacement and an apology.

I bought a Maytag refrigerator over the summer - the French door and drawer freezer. Expensive but crappy. After about a month motor starting making noise then is shut down. Called the store. They came and swapped it out and not even two weeks later same thing. Looked up product and all awful reviews. Never thought to look up reviews before purchasing. Could of save myself the headache. Not to mention my daughter was like, Mom stop buying that brand. It sucks. Did you not realize our washing machine is the same brand and after almost two years it started acting up and your last washing machine you had for 10 years before it even gave you any problems.

I purchased a matching set Maytag washer & dryer June 2013. Sept 2013 the drum went out - 4 weeks for that repair. March 2014 the electric panel went out. Took about 10 phone calls with hold waits of 30 to 70 minutes and 4 months, to find out the replacement part is no longer available and the washer is discontinued. To get a new matching set, I had to pay for a new dryer and they will give me a free washer. I have to give both washer and dryer back - I paid for 2 dryers. 6 month later and more phone calls, no washer and no one will return my calls. The dryer I paid for is at the appliance store waiting on the new washer. We consumers have nowhere to go. I have heard so many similar situations. Where are we to go? Who are we to call?

I bought a new washer and dryer on Sept. 9, 2011. Front Load Commercial 2000 Series. I have had Lowes to my home 2 times since it was delivered because it shimmies across the floor. I am very upset with the purchase of the Maytag front load washer. If you could please get back to me on what can be done. Model MDB7749AWB2 Dishwasher - we purchased this dishwasher 3 years ago on 12/23/2011 and it appears to be falling apart. We have replaced two thermo fuses, one door latch/switch and now need the front control panel and handle because two mounting locations for the six screws have broken off. I truly expected a much longer product life than three years when I purchased a Maytag. So much plastic in crucial high stress areas must have slipped by the engineering folks. Or was it just cost cuts. I believe it will be a long time before I consider a Maytag product again based on this one. Thank you.

I bought my Maytag Dishwasher (mdbh979aww3) about two years ago and just last week, the control buttons on the right stopped working. I see on this site that someone else had the same problem and explained that the wires got corroded, so now Im not sure I even want to replace the part when it only worked for 2 years. Now Im stuck buying a new dishwasher.

We owned the washer for 2 years and 2 days when we got a code F70. After searching online, I found hundreds, if not thousands, of reviews and self-help forums that show this product is in dire need of a recall. The problem I had is the motor control unit (MCU), which is a $225 to $275 part online. However, Maytag will only replace the board under extended warranty with a refurbished board that they say costs $330, whereas they say the new one is over $600. Why is it that Maytag charges double what everyone else charges? If so many people are having these problems, it is obviously a defect and should not be the consumer’s responsibility. It is obvious that this is too common of a problem.

I purchased a range 5 months ago. It is STAINLESS STEEL. It began to rust. I called customer service and they told me it was cosmetic, so they wont help. I think a stainless steel range should not rust after 5 months. Very disappointed, WILL NEVER BUY MAYTAG Again.

I am retired and have always had dogs in my life. My recent purchase of a new Maytag top loading washer has been very frustrating. There is barely enough water to measure in an oversize tub. The placard on the lid, and in the owner manual clearly show three levels of water. Each load takes twice the time as I am used to with my older Kenmore washer. I am forced to cut my loads in two or three, and use more water and energy to do a job that used to take less than half the time, water and electricity. I have had warranty repair to replace the control board twice, but nothing has changed. The repair techs both said there is one program on new washers, the knobs and settings do nothing, and recommended I get used to it. They explained the EPA is responsible for all changes to Protect consumers from harm. WHAT???I wish I had never bought this unit - if I could get my Kenmore back I would, in a hot minute! What a waste of a large tub to properly wash pet bedding and bedspreads/pillows, when there is only 3-4 inches of water! I wasted an entire paycheck, when I could have gotten my other unit repaired or rebuilt. I am seriously frustrated, I am searching for an older washer unit to get back to doing my laundry without being forced into a laundromat for pet bedding and larger items!!!

Unreliable! When you push start, it goes into sensing mode and starts to fill. You walk away thinking it will run to find out an hour later it is still in sensing mode! Wasting electricity, your time and talk about stress! You have a 50-50 chance it will go on and run the load, but if you dont have time to stand there and watch it. FORGET THIS WASHER. Also does not clean as the old agitator washer, which I luckily still have, yeah. Always read reviews before buying anything. Nice website.

I purchased a Maytag Centennial - HE Energy Star Washer from the local Home Depot on Guam.... Probably the worst clothes washer I ever purchased. I typically buy a Whirlpool brand for many of my appliances of which I have always been satisfied with the products. I understand that Whirlpool is now the new principal owners of Maytag. I bought the Maytag for my new second home which I have moved into as my primary residence. Great ads on TV that promote the Maytag product line but the product fails miserably in performance. From the day I purchased the washer, my wife, kids, and I visibly noticed the laundry doesnt get as clean as my previous washers, it takes longer to wash a load of laundry no matter what is the preferred setting, the irritating hum is deafening in my laundry room, now the washer has malfunctioned and doesnt cycle through properly, leaving the clothes either unwashed or wet... I do not know who is your servicing agent or center on Guam and I am debating to repair it or just dispose of it. I can tell you now... MAYTAG... NEVER AGAIN. Now I know why the Maytag Repairman is so lonely.... I wouldnt bother to repair it. I hope these issues do not filter down to your Whirlpool products. That Samsung is looking pretty attractive right now. I bought one of their dishwashers that is doing a pretty good job right now.... Guess what? There was a Maytag next to it that I didnt even look at.

Bought a Maytag microwave model MMV4205DS and I too have had an issue with open/close door display. Just like other reviews Ive read it started out once in a while for the first year then began happening more often til it stopped working by the second year. I also read someone asking why there isnt a class action lawsuit? Good question. Way too many bad reviews on same issue. If I knew how and if we could start one then I would. Thought we could trust a company thats been around for so many years. Wish we had check into it more and I have learned from other products to do just that from now on. Have a backup microwave by GE from WalMart weve had for 10 yrs still working.

I purchased my Maytag washer and dryer set from the Maytag store in Glendale, AZ in September 2005. I even bought the stands for them. With my purchase, I got the extended warranty for four more years. I didnt realize that I would really need it. I have had so many issues with the washer and dryer I cant even count - from the control panel not working, to the noise and the vibration when washing, or maybe in the smell of moldy cheese. I also have issues with the constant chimes of D5 code that keeps coming up on the display screen. After 2009, I finally gave up on calling the Maytag customer service folks to have someone come and service the washer because it was out of warranty. I just decided to live with all those issues.As far as my dryer goes, the rollers went bad and that was replaced. The burnt smell isnt so bad as long as you use a wire hanger with a sock on the end of it and clean the inside of the vent. Then try to vacuum it, take the sock, get it wet, and clean the inside of the vent again. This was the most expensive piece of junk I have ever purchased in my life (almost $3,000.00 with the stands and warranty).What really gets me upset is I had the Maytag people servicing my washer and dryer up until 2009 and no one told me about a recall of my washer and dryer. The only reason I found out about it was searching for the specs as the washer finally died and I am replacing it. Trust me. I will not be purchasing a Maytag. I know that Whirlpool purchased Maytag so I am not even going to consider Whirlpool either. Since Whirlpool purchased Maytag, Whirlpool should have contacted all Maytag consumers, (which they didnt), put ads in newspapers (which I did not see) or put an ad on TV. None of these appeared to have happened.By the way, when I bought my Maytag appliances, I was supposed to get a $200 rebate for buying the stands that never came. It must have gotten lost in the mail - as well as the Tide coupons for three years. You, guys, remember that too. I will never ever purchase a Maytag appliance or Whirlpool, since they own Maytag now.

I bought this new washer and dryer pair at Lowes August 2018. I chose this brand because of the very large wash tub (5.3 cu ft) since I have king size bedding. My previous washer was a front loader, and there were problems with the door seal molding and stinking, and loads had dry spots on them after washing. So within a very short time, I realized I hated this new washer. Very noisy, no agitator, very long cycles. You cannot adjust the time or water levels, and the biggest problem... I CANNOT REACH THE BOTTOM OF THE TUB! I had to steal the grabby toy out of our toy box to pull the wet load out! The laundry comes out all tangled up and horribly wrinkled, even when using the wrinkle-free setting. I line dry a lot of my clothes and now have to iron everything. Never had to do that before. I know Im stuck with this set, but will look forward to the day when it dies and I can buy new ones again.

MCBH979SAB0 - I am also frustrated with Maytag for the same exact problem... the control panel and the dishwasher not working just after our year warranty went out. I purchased this product because of a recall on my former Maytag dishwasher. I was told I should purchase this new model to replace it, only to get fooled again. This seems like BAD business on Maytag! How can we get an official complaint to someone who can fix this? Why would a company like Home Depot continue to support this business!!

I just purchased this washer in Feb. 2012. The motor had gone out in Oct. I called Maytag Service, they came out to repair it. In Nov., it was doing the same thing again. I called Maytag Service, and they sent someone out to fix it. They expected me to take off from work where they inconvenience me with this washer. It is a reject washer. They would give me another washer and not consider people having to work and cant take off for their reject washer. They said as long as it is under warranty. I feel that I should be able to get me another. This washer has given me problems since I had it.

Purchased a Maytag - MDB7749AWM1 dishwasher in 2011 from Home Depot. The door seal has failed several times and been replaced by a serviceman. The warranty has since run out but the seal continues to fall out every time you run the dishwasher and open the door. Has anyone else had a similar problem? I have considered gluing the seal in place but cant find a glue that will handle the temperature. Im sure that Maytag will say they have never seen this problem before. Maytag is off my purchase list forever!!!

Ive had the dishwasher model MDBH979SAB0 for about 3 years now. A few months ago I noticed the faceplate would pop out when you opened the dishwasher. I would have to pop it back in. The dishwasher was out of warranty so I decided to attempt to fix it. I took the faceplate off to realize all of the plastic tabs that screws go in to were snapped off. The only fix for this is a complete new panel from Whirlpool Parts Online to the tune of $194.17 (W10811169).The wheels also fall off the bottom rack. The push pin plastic becomes brittle over time and does not stay in the assembly. To replace the wheel assembly (there are 4 in total) is $38.18 each (W10195416V). The wheels or push pins cant be purchased separately. Both of these items are not covered under warranty past 1 year. Maytags 10 year warranty only covers the upper and Lower Racks (excludes cup shelf and silverware basket), chopper blade and stainless steel tub and inner door liner. So only a small percentage of the parts.The design of the faceplate is defective in that too much force is applied to the faceplate when opening the unit. The handle is integrated in to the faceplate. The plastic used becomes brittle over time and breaks. The panel unit (W10811169) must be replaced in entirety rather than just its housing increasing the cost of repair. To have this failure occur within the first 3 years of use is very premature. I can only assume if I repair the dishwasher I will have the same problem again. I am considering buying a new model that is designed better and comes with a longer warranty on such parts.
