I am very satisfied with my Maytag washer and dryer. Had it for 10+ years. No complaints. It’s easy to set the machine according to my preference for each load of clothes. The dryer is great. Settings on the machines are very easy to use. This is important since I have a vision problem.

Maytag water efficient, no central spindle top load. Clothes come out with scum on them. Really a problem on the solid darks. I have to scrub with terry cloth to remove. Maytag insists this is normal. Refused to honor warranty. Usually check Consumer Reports for quality and best buy. Energy/water efficiency is important. I like to have some control over the machine so that I can use it the best way for me. Such as soak. This machine cannot be manually controlled at all. Also it doesnt have a lint catcher, doesnt filter the wash or rinse water at all. All the lint and pet hair remains on the clothes or even gets worse. The clothes are not clean. I have no way to control the machine for my use. It may be water efficient but seems to use too little water to clean the clothes. Maytag wants to blame the EPA - This is irresponsible on their part. Its an awful washing machine and they made it. Maytag continued to insist that scum on the clothes was working normally. This scum was added by the machine. I used very little detergent; the clothes were relatively clean - just lightly wore a few days. They come out of the machine with streaks of white scum that I have to scrub off. The clean the machine cycle uses a huge amount of water. This is really DUMB: washing the machine instead of cleaning the clothes! Terrible! And Terrible customer service at Maytag. DO NOT BUY MAYTAG.

I purchased my Maytag double oven (MEW6627DDB) in November 2008. In January 2013, with a setting on 375, it heated to 440 in 15 minutes. The repairman said $650 because it needs a new control panel and 2 new sensors, one for each oven. I contacted Maytag as I felt this oven should not have gone out in 4 years. I spoke with Ebony and then a supervisor, Vana. Basically, I was told that since I didnt purchase an extended warranty, there was nothing they could do. While I have a freezer 40 years old and still going strong, I realize that appliances manufactured many years ago were much more reliable. I feel that Maytag should stand behind their products and should have offered to send me replacement parts. I know I would have had to pay labor for installation. Their answer was I should have purchased the extended warranty. However, one should not have to purchase extended warranties for products. I had every confidence in Maytag. Why else would I have purchased my first Maytag product? I should have stuck with Whirlpool, which I was recently told, now owns Maytag. Maytag customer service personnel were extremely unhelpful. I wonder how many Maytag employees purchase extended warranties for their appliances or if theyre smart enough not to buy Maytag.

We purchased this model from Home Depot in February 2011. In July 2011, I found it full of water and dirty dishes after running a wash cycle. It was completely dead like it wasnt getting any power. I checked the fuses, etc. - nothing was wrong that I could find with the power supply. I called for a service tech that day and they sent someone out to check it. It was the control panel. They shipped me a new control panel and the tech came back to replace it under warranty. It worked great until July 2013. Again, it is full of water and dirty dishes, wont turn on and has no lights on the front panel. I called Maytag to get a service tech. The warranty is expired of course. They offered to sell me a replacement dishwasher at a discount for $409, Model # MDB7749SBW. Or I can buy an additional 1 year of warranty for $269. I also could buy a control board for about $150 online. None of these options is attractive right now, but hopefully if I get the new model, it will not have any issues... I wish they would just tell me it was a crap unit instead of giving me the option to either get a new one or pay for a useless warranty. I am fed up with this dishwasher. 2 control boards in 2 1/2 years is unacceptable and indicative of a defective unit or design. After reading the reviews here it appears to be a defective design.

Two months after purchasing our Maytag refrigerator, the light/cooling unit went out. After speaking with Maytag’s customer service and scheduling a repair company to come fix it, it took 3 separate trips over a span of 2 or 3 weeks to finally find the correct replacement piece to get it to work again. It is now 10 months since buying and we, once again, are having issues with the lights going out and randomly coming back on, the water/ice machine not dispensing, and we’re just waiting to see if the cooling unit isn’t out as well.I called Maytag as soon as we noticed the issue, and after waiting 15 minutes on hold, they scheduled a repair service to come check it out... in 5 days. Having spent $2300 on a refrigerator for our family, we were hoping for a reliable product. I would NOT RECOMMEND this refrigerator and will never buy anything, or let any friends or family members purchase anything, Maytag manufactures ever again. As if the faulty product itself weren’t bad enough, I have had the absolute worst customer service experience. Who would have thought it could be so difficult to look up a customer account, even after having it registered with Maytag after purchasing.

Bought a Maytag dishwasher (Model #MDBH979SAM0) three years ago. Four weeks ago the control panel wouldnt work correctly. No matter what cycle I attempted to select, other cycle buttons lit up. The start button did not light and the cancel button would not turn off. I called a repair guy, he came out and said Maytag was having a lot of problems with the control panels. He reset the machine and finally got it working again. He said he wasnt able to get a new control panel from Maytag due to demand/delay in manufacturing. Today the control panel went out again. Based on all the other reviews Im not sure its feasible to put more money in this machine. Ill research other dishwashers and get one that has a better performance record. DO NOT BUY A MAYTAG.

We bought our Maytag dishwasher at Sears about 2 years ago. It has never cleaned very well, we have to rinse everything almost to the point of spotless before we load it. Its a water saver, which means it takes more than 4 hours to fully cycle. Just today, I went to turn it on and the start button does not work. I looked it up and found that this is a common problem with new Maytag washers. This is really irritating, considering we paid a lot more for the Maytag brand than we would have paid for something without the Maytag reputation. Live and learn, I guess; we certainly will not be buying another Maytag.

Two years old, single person owned and will not operate - At 2:00 am, April 25th, 2012; I went to take a load of laundry out of the washer. It was still full of water and would not operate. I am a single person. I do not do load after load in two years. In fact, I was doing a weekly load of clothing, nothing large. I paid close to $1,000.00 for this unit. This sucks and why only one year warranty? Are you Maytag? A Youigo car would run better than this. And they are built cheap.

We purchased our Maytag 4000 series washer and dryer (Model: MHWE450) in December 2010 from Best Buy. For the first six months or so, we were very happy. We started to notice that the washer was getting a little louder by the month. I checked the level multiple times to be sure that wasnt the issue. Assuming it was just part of how the washer broke in, I just let it go - a bad move! Fourteen months after I purchased the set, the washer flooded all over the floor. I opened the washer and pieces of plastic were all over our clothes. After further inspection, the drain was completely full of the same plastic. I cleaned it all up only to find that the washer tub was so loose that it was banging side to side.I called Maytag to ask for help or suggestions. They basically told me that I was out of warranty and kind of out of luck. I responded that we do a total of four to five loads of clothes per week and that there was no reason that this commercial series washer should have failed after 14 months. They offered a one-time service plus extended service contract. Feeling that I had no choice, I spent almost $400 assuming that I had a fixed washer and a year extra warranty. I was told that someone would be out to look at the washer in three days. Finally, after me pressing and pressing, someone showed up a week later. He put a list together of all of the items that were needed to repair the washer. Two days later, Maytag service calls and says that the washer will be too expensive to repair and they would be giving me a reimbursement for buying a new one. They didnt have an exact amount yet. Two more days later, they finally called me with an offer of around $550 ($250 less than what I paid) based on their research of what I should be able to find one for and directed me to the website. One big catch though - it didnt include the $125 shipping charge. When I called to request for it to be paid as well, they declined with basically a “take it or leave” type of attitude. Not knowing what to do, I called every local appliance store until I found someone that had two in stock. When I went to look at them, I was told that both of the ones that they had were rebuilt because that model Maytag washer had a major issue with the bearing and basically needed to be replaced on all of them.Luckily, I was able to buy the washer and a five-year extended service contract for around $690. So in the end, I paid $799 for the new washer, $400 for a warranty, another $100 to replace the washer, and close to $100 in laundry mat costs for three weeks. I promised everyone that I spoke to with Maytag that I would write a review to share my story and thats why I wrote this. The repair plus warranty is a joke. I like this washer/dryer but will never buy another Maytag appliance again. Next time, I will buy extended service contract from the start.

I wish that I had looked up reviews before purchasing my washer 6 months ago! No matter which setting I use, the washer never fills up with enough water!! I have pulled clothes out that havent even gotten wet, due to not enough water in machine! All due to the government regulated water levels on the sensors!!!! So, I had my plumber put in hot and cold water faucets, then he put a short Y hose on, so this way I can add water to the machine.... The only thing is, you have to wait for the machine to fill with what it thinks is enough water to get your load clean.... stop the washer, then add the water you need. But if it reaches a certain point, it will automatically start draining. So you have to watch and make sure you stop adding the water, before reaching that point!

Maytag French door model is four years old. Water accumulates on the freezer floor in small puddles. As I read other comments, this seems quite often the case. I should probably pull out the refrigerator to see if I have water leakage on my floor. From reading other reviews, it appears that Maytag does not stand behind the product. Am I forced to do the repairs myself, or am I forced to find a repair person and hope their fix eliminates the problem? Any advice would be helpful.

We went to Lowe’s to buy a new washer when our old front loader would’ve cost more to repair than was worth it. This Bravo XL washer is the biggest rip off EVER!! I, like others, have watched with a flashlight & see that most clothes are nowhere NEAR being wet AT ALL!! Let me tell you... I am BEYOND LIVID!! I bought this washer thinking we could wash our comforter at home instead of a laundromat and WHAT A JOKE!! It would never even wet a FOURTH of a queen comforter, let alone the whole thing!! My husband had to actually LEAVE HIS JOB to go home and change because his shirts smelled like a wet animal! People actually were commenting on the smell!!Believe me, we tell EVERYONE how ridiculous this whole energy saving scam is!! AND... I am having to wash clothes TWO and THREE times to get them NEAR smelling normal!! My electric bill and water bill have gone up substantially and again, I AM LIVID BEYOND WORDS!! We spent over $900 for this washer with the extended warranty!!! NEVER EVER AGAIN WOULD I BUY MAYTAG!!! And I have tried EVERYTHING to try to rectify this; I added less detergent, I’ve used the deep water wash, extra rinses. I’ve had the Maytag technician here replacing the circuit board thinking perhaps THAT would give me more water. I sure wish we could all do something for SO MANY of us being taken advantage of!!! Did I mention I’m FUMING?!!?

The control panel and the electronic control box had to be replaced after only two years of use. It cost almost as much as a new dishwasher (492 dollars). The model of the Maytag dishwasher is MDB77479SBM3. This dishwasher looks good from the outside and runs quite but the electronics are cheap and cant stand heat without melting. My wife and I are retired and only used this washer about twice per week. It looks good, cost 650 bucks and it is a pile of junk. No more Maytag in our house. We have owned a Maytag Commercial Centennial washer for 4 years and made the mistake of not buying an extended warranty as we thought Maytag was dependable and a reputable company and thought the manufacturers 10 year limited warranty would cover us. Washer would not spin clothes properly, started making loud noises, lid would not always unlock as time went on, and finally it broke and soaked my tile and it ran through my wall into my hall carpet. Called Maytag and was told we didnt have a 10 year limited parts warranty 6 times (we still have the book that says we do), they offered us a 1 year full warranty for $320.00. We purchased the warranty 11/04/16, Called Maytag as no one knew where the parts were and was told service plan is through AIG. AIG couldnt tell us where the parts were either and when I asked for our refund and we just buy a new washer they advised me they would have to prorate it.Now I feel held hostage. Parts finally come in and Maytag Certified repair man comes to repair machine on 11/30/16, only to be told they could not fix our washer as the screws and transmission rotted and fused to tub. Call Maytag as this should be under my warranty and everyone insists I dont have a warranty. Filed complaint 11/30/16, they sent me a survey on 12/2/16 and I filed my complaint again on the survey. No call from Maytag. Call back on 12/06/16 to be told the survey was them closing my complaint. Now they escalate my complaint and will be called in 48 hours and give me an email address to email my pictures of my warranty. Surprise no call back, so I called them again 12/08/16 and I am advised it takes 3-5 business days. Ask for supervisor and he told me even if I have warranty they will only cover the basket.I will have to pay for technician, and other parts. Still no info on my complaint and you cant talk to anyone just have to wait. I emailed Jeff Fettig CEO of Whirlpool (Whirlpool owns Maytag) as well on 12/6/16 a copy of my complaint with pictures of warranty. The bottom line is Maytag sells junk and their customer service is worse than their product. After being without a washing machine since 11/04/16 we will be buying something Whirlpool does not own which is very limited which is why they can get away with making junk.

I purchased the top load Maytag Commercial Residential washer with an agitator last month. I wanted a basic washer with Hot/Warm/Cold settings, Delicate/Normal/Heavy Duty cycles, Small/Medium/Large loads. I paid over $800 for this washer and I cannot wash my whites or rags in hot water! The hot water setting dispenses hot water, then cold water, back and forth. The end result is cool water. Ive called Maytag, Ive been told that there is nothing that can be done about it, thats how theyre made to be considered HE. I asked them why they even put a hot or warm water setting on the washer. You have no control over the water level, all cycles except for normal run in a deep water setting (full drum of water), I dont know why delicates are in a deep water setting. I only wash a couple pieces of delicates together. I end up using a lot more water and detergent with this washer. I hope we dont have to conserve water in the next few years! So though this washer uses less hot water energy, it wastes a lot of water, my water bill goes up and my detergent is used up much quicker! I cannot add time to my wash cycle, (the actual washing/agitation cycle is very short - 10 minutes) it has to drain all of the water and re-start the cycle with more water! $800 is a lot of money for a washer that doesnt wash like my old cheap washer. The local store cant do anything about it and Maytag brushed me off.

Magtag Bravos Washer top load Model MVWX700XW1 - I purchased my washer in June 2011 with the understanding that this was the best washer for my money and needs. I have family of 4, and laundry is a continual cycle at our home. I had the washer delivered and installed by the store where it was purchased. I was pleased with the machine even though the clothes were extremely wrinkled after each cycle, but the salesman was kind enough to tell me this would be so. 21 months into use, I had a water leak from the internal cold water valve. It’s not covered by warranty; I had the valve replaced. Within 2 weeks, the machine would not spin out the clothes; if it did, they were still wet, or would stop mid-spin cycle and start rinsing again. It took 2 hours to wash a 37 minute hand washables load this past Saturday, 4/6/2013, not to mention the other 4 hours washing to regular loads just to get the machine to rinse and spin. The service technician has spent the past 2 days at my home trying to repair my machine to tell me today that it is not the lid lock, but the master control panel which is still not covered under the manufacturer’s warranty. To say the least, I now have to purchase a new washer as I have invested $250.00 for a valve and the control panel is $275.55 plus labor. This machine is the biggest waste of money that I have ever spent. I have been a loyal Whirlpool customer having owned two other Whirlpool machines, each lasting 17-18 years each. I do not abuse my appliances, overload or in any other manner try to destroy a machine for personal gain. I do, however, feel that Whirlpool/Maytag needs to recall these washers or cover the parts beyond what is written. I have read numerous accounts of these and similar issues by others, yet the company will not stand behind their appliances. Really!

Model# MVWC200BW1 bought in 2015 tangles/stretches clothing. This machine is/has been a true disappointment. The agitator wings are not attached at bottom allowing clothing to get caught and as the agitator turns, so does the clothing causing stretching and severe tangling. Poor design compared to the agitator that would rise and fall - those got clothing clean and did not ruin them. I cannot trust this machine to moderately cost clothing for fear of their demise. The lock-down mode is not convenient for those last minute added items. Will not be buying Maytag/Whirlpool ever again when another machine is purchased. This is a piece of rubbish!

This Maytag was installed in this house in the summer of 1984 and washed dishes for my in-laws for 26 years. We moved in as a family of four and this Maytag dishwasher is still washing the dishes clean. No rinsing, just make sure the food is gone. We replaced the belt about 6 years ago and I think my Mother-in-law replaced the door seal. It has a power saver button, 2 cycles, and the cups are on the bottom rack, plates and such on the top. I dont put plastic bowls on the bottom because it gets a bit too warm for them but all the bells and whistles still work. It is a fairly large model, WU301, with ample room for plates and platters. I dont wash pots because I dont like what the dishwasher soap does to the finish on them. Having the cups on the bottom is nice and the rack is very usable for other dishes as well. The cutlery rack is located on the top rack, removable and a decent size. Almond body, silver and dark brown accents, very 1984 but not a bad look. All of the buttons and knobs are easy to read and use. Maytag, 1984, model #WU301.

I clean my refrigeration weekly and find it odd that now it is rusting. Also, I am able to place magnets on the doors - which should not be for stainless steel. In addition, I spend over $100 a year replacing the mandatory filters. I must also place the setting to high to maintain my milk and juices. I had no issues with my washer. The best thing I ever did was stop using Sabrina softener in it and made the switch to vinegar. The worst thing I ever did was think that paying $900+ for a nice washer would get me more than a year! What a joke! I started noticing small leaks when my hardwood floors started lifting and once my husband looked into this, we realized there is no seal around the top of the drum. So there is no barrier between the drum and your floors basically. Then one day we had a flood. As we watched the cycle run, we noticed that when the water was filling into the bleach and fabric softener compartments it was coming in at such a high rate, it was spilling over the sides down to the floor. So we went to the internet and found a few complaints about this, but no answers. Thankfully we found one guy who had the exact same problem and even had pictures that matched ours. Luckily a real appliance tech answered him and he couldnt even figure it out but took a guess at what I might be: the water inlet valve. But that was just a guess. So we called around to find the part and talked with a few sales persons. One was so nice to even ask a technician standing in line. And he said that there was no way this could be it. But then we decided to take a gamble. We also noticed that both compartments were filling up at the same time, but the bleach should fill during the wash cycle and the fabric softener during the rinse cycle. So it was either the $104 water inlet valve. Or the $200+ circuit board. These are my options after already spending $900+.. So we went with the valve and thank goodness it worked!!!! It is so disappointing that after a short time, this washer broke and cause more damage to my floors. It is an awful design. I bought myself the nicest front loaders for my first house. When that broke 7 years later, I bought this washer because I liked the no agitator design without the smell of a front loader. Now when this one breaks again, Im not buying another HE machine. The majority of people I talked with today said that these HE machines are breaking down faster and faster as the get better and better. I am so beyond disappointed, angry and in shock that this washer failed in less than a year and a half time. My hope is that this review will give the answers we couldnt find without paying an arm and a leg. Is this what passes for quality these days???

Disturbing that this product made it into production. I have the matching dryer too, and its just as bad. First the washer rolls up clothes into a tight ball better than I could do if I did it by hand. Then it spins, setting the wrinkles in thoroughly. Then, even though I shake out the clothes before putting in dryer, after the clothes come out of the dryer (without letting them sit in there) - the clothes look like someone drove over them with a car while they were rolled up in a ball. Bonus: the clothes dont even get dried. Ive watched the clothes in the dryer, the drum is designed so the clothes stick to the outside of it and go around, they never actually tumble or get any air circulation. What a disastrous product.

Bought a Maytag Bravos XL washing machine because I thought it was a dependable brand. We have had it 14 months and the lid (upper left corner) will not stay connected. I called Maytag and the rep states to me Is it broken in the upper left corner and I replied yes. He continued he is just the parts guy, but every bravos has the same problem. I asked for the replacement part ($302), but he said the part is on back order for 60 days. He continued that maybe I should buy two because it will happen again. I only paid $700 for the washer, but it should never break down after 14 months. I highly recommend a different brand.

We were delighted with our new Maytag refrigerator, model #MBF2258XEB, until the compressor died less than a year after we bought it. Home Depot, where we purchased it, directed us to the A&E Company for service. Two weeks later, we are still without refrigeration; Maytag refuses to replace it and even refused to overnight the new compressor. We thought Maytag set an industry standard for excellence. Don’t buy this product if you want a reliable refrigerator from a company that stands behind its products.

I have a top loader Maytag washing machine, Model MVWB835DW4, bought in 11/2019. Five months of light use, the lid cracked. Received a replacement and four months later the lid once again cracked in the exact same spot. Requested replacement parts under warranty and I was told that a service tech must install the lid. Due to health and safety concerns related to Covid, we are not take any chances letting people into our home. My wife and I are 70 years old and are at high risk. Maytags response was they would not send parts under warranty to me and a service tech must install the parts. If I dont let them in by 11/2/2020 (the end of the warranty period) then I would have to pay for the parts. Maytag has the very worse customer service in the industry.

So for the past year our 1 yr old freezer has been leaking and holding a sheet of ice at the bottom. Ive been wondering why my electric bill has skyrocketed the past two months and we just realized that the freezer wont even stay closed anymore. Maytag has become a VERY POOR product. Our less than two year old $450 Maytag Drier just busted as well. After paying repairman after repairman and replacing different parts, we had to get rid of it. I am very dissatisfied with Maytag and will never purchase a product with their name attached. Please keep us posted if there is a class action lawsuit. This is unfair to make a product that fails immediately for the price that is paid!

I purchased a Maytag Gemini gas range in July 2006. Rust has appeared on the bottom of both oven doors. I called Maytag customer service, realizing that my range was no longer covered by warranty. However, I feel the paint on a range, costing over $1,000, should last longer than 5 years. Customer service told me to call a repair technician. When I asked who would pay for this service call, they didnt even bother to respond to me. As I have read other reviews of dissatisfied Maytag Range owners, Im glad I didnt waste money calling a repair tech who would do nothing to help, but charge a $100 plus fee. The paint on a car, which is subjected to all kinds of weather, lasts much longer than 5 years. You would think the paint on an appliance inside a home should last much longer. This rust is becoming very unsightly. I will certainly not purchase a Maytag product again, as the company has proved they do not stand behind their product line.

Control board twice, control panel twice, and cleaning terribly the other two. They replaced the control board once and then would not do anything after that. I have a 50/50 chance of completing a wash cycle. Most times, the washer stops working at 8 minutes remaining in ANY cycle. The washer will leave me with wet clothing and refuses to spin even when most wet, dripping articles are removed. I have tried to put all light-weight items together and that still is not a guarantee that I can get this done in one cycle. Most often, the error code comes up, I spin the drum around, move the clothing around and try again. This process is NOT energy efficient which is why I bought the ** thing in the first place. I am ready to put it on the curb for the trash man to pick up.We had a service person out and he said it is either the bearings or the motor (both a $400 job). I will NEVER buy another front-loading washing machine. At least with the old-fashioned top loaders you can get the load balanced and at least get clothing to go through the spin cycle. I am now hand-wringing clothing once again since the machine tells me when it will spin my clothing. That stupid chime is about to send me out of my mind!

I have given it sufficient time to get used to it. I have tried all cycles for my whites and am not satisfied. I use Clorox in the receptacle and I have only used Tide HE. At this point, I would never recommend this machine.

Maytag bravo - thought it would be a good brand/buy/new technology. Absolutely nothing to like. Complete junk. Bought it in June 2013. Doesnt get things clean and takes a long time to not do that. We thought a good reputation from a major brand would mean a durable efficient washer with a reasonable capacity and good features. Unfortunately we didnt know when we bought it what a bad design/investment it was. It has destroyed numerous garments with fraying and doesnt rinse soap or dirt out because it doesnt use any water. The bravo from Maytag is supposed to be low water efficient. Unfortunately, it doesnt use enough water to wash clothes, no matter how little or how much HE soap you use. It frays clothes, leaves soap residue, wont wash jackets or blankets or bulky things, takes forever to NOT get things clean, doesnt get heavy stains or mud out, the list goes on and on.... oh, and its expensive, and breaks down a lot. I cannot believe that there has not been a government recall where the people who were unfortunate enough to buy one have been given a large amount of money back.

Mine is the same sad story as all the others. Bought our Maytag dishwasher in 2013 (model MDB7749) and 15 months later, the control panel went out. We have contacted Maytag and they basically told us it could be our fault it doesnt work, so they wont fix it. Now we have learned that this is an issue that A LOT of people are having. We called their special number for this problem and were told they still wouldnt fix it since we called BEFORE having it repaired. So my question is, how is this legal and why arent they recalling this product? I know that there was a class action lawsuit against Maytag for this problem. Why dont we hold them accountable as well? This is bad business and we shouldnt allow them to take advantage of hard working people like this.

My refrigerator is a lemon! We bought a Maytag bottom freezer French door refrigerator model #MFD2561HEW in May of 2007. Less than a year later, it stopped working and ruined all the food inside. I cant remember the problem that time, but it was fixed by Maytag and we were reimbursed for a portion of the food we lost. Two years later, the temperature got warm in the refrigerator and freezer sections, and we were gone for a couple of days, so when we got home, all of our food was spoiled. This time we had an extended warranty in effect and they replaced a circuit board, but we were out the food. A few months later, the same thing happened. This time we were home and saved most of the food. The compressor was replaced, again under warranty, but it took 2 weeks to get the part. Now, less than a year later, the freezer and refrigerator compartments are getting too warm and frost is forming in the back of the freezer. When it finally does get cool, it freezes the food in the refrigerator section. It also makes loud bumping sounds. I paid $80 to a repairman today to tell me that theres nothing wrong with it, thats just the way it runs! He suggested I put a gallon of milk jugs filled with water in the freezer to hold the temperature when it starts to rise! This piece of junk is just 5 years old! When I complained, I was told to call Maytag and discuss it with them. This refrigerator was not cheap and I see that many others have had similar problems. How do they get away with selling an inferior product?

I absolutely do not like the fact that you can’t choose what size load you have. The washer wants to do it for you but it is not very good at it. You have to fool the washer to get any kind of water level or just use the deep fill every time which is what I do in order to get the clothes clean! This defeats the whole purpose of trying to save water. Also there are too many settings. I mean we’re just washing clothes here not flying a jet. After seeing all the bad reviews about Maytag I decided to write my review, we purchased a Maytag washer and dryer 1990 when moving into our new home, and we still have the same set. Now it does not have a motherboard which I feel today is the major problem with most appliances. Get away from the motherboards. Turn the machine on and off when its supposed to, or let it run its Cycles. Dont overfill, because this causes wearing motor parts. The dryer belt wore out on the dryer but that was an easy replacement. Im a woman of 64 and get it myself. I am renting to own a Maytag refrigerator and it is leaking water on my floor. Runt my floor already - had to replace the floor once. Sent it back to the place where I got it for them to fix it. Paying insurance by the way that isnt worth a crap either cause they wanting to tell me that I left it open at some point or the lights was off at some point. Anyway to make a long story short they gave me the run around and didnt want to fix it. But how do you fight big companies? This was a rental company by the way rent to own so now I have 4 payments left out of 24 at 180.00 each and they still dont want to fix it. I dont know who to be madder at - the rental company or Maytag from selling this piece of junk. But by me renting to own it if any problems occurred they were suppose to fix it. Youre already paying twice the amount to get one cause of credit issues. But thats no reason to double screw someone or should I say triple cause you getting doubled the rental company alone. They need to recall this refrigerator. It has been a lot of complaint and they want to tell you to go behind the refrigerator unstop a line. Well I didnt buy this refrigerator to have to work on pulling it out from the wall every two days to do this procedure. This is crazy. Any one out there looking to buy a refrigerator my advice to you would be do your research and stay away from rental places whatever you do because you will pay twice the amount and they wont stand behind their promise either to fix it as long as you renting from them! And stay away from Maytag!!!

I bought this washer brand new in 2011 for $650. I had bought a Maytag washer before in 1967 and it was still running in 1995 when I gave it away. Considering my first Maytag lasted me nearly 30 years (Last I heard the machine was still running in 2005), I never thought my new Maytag would give me any problems, until it was at least 10 years old. (I did know Maytag had been bought by Whirlpool but didnt expect any difference in quality). Boy, was I wrong! After using it for a month the machine broke down and it had to have the clutch and gear box replaced. Last week July 2016 the machine broke down again. It was the internal computer (referred to as the electric control unit) a printed circuit board that retails for approximately $300 (A ridiculous price given that much more complicated laptop and tablet computers today can be brought for $100, the circuit board should retail for no more than $40).With labor the repair bill came to $550, which was nearly as much as a new machine and did not justify the cost. Supposedly the electric control is susceptible to current surges and power outages. Given that this is the case, it makes no sense whatsoever that a machine billed as eco-friendly would carry a part that will doom it to the junk pile because of a power surge or outage and does not carry a surge protector. After learning of my experience Maytag called me the next day and offered to sell me a new Maytag at a discount price, which of course I flat-out refused.I would never ever again own a Maytag appliance or one made by its new owner (as of 2005) Whirlpool. With such susceptible electric units these appliances will sooner or later result in electric fires that will end the life of its owners. The US govt needs to protect US citizens from these predatory companies that make over-prized, throwaway products labeled as eco-friendly that are potentially dangerous. My advice for anyone that is thinking of buying a Whirlpool or Maytag washer dont do it. For those that already own these machines do not run them without a heavy duty surge protectors. It is not worth your life.

I have had this washer (top loading washer model MVWX550XW0) almost 2 years. It has ruined some of my clothes. It does not properly wash anything. I have tried every possible solution. I cannot use the HE powder detergent - it will not rinse out. I tried using less than required and double rinse, absolutely did not overload. Even using the HE liquid still did not get clothes clean. I used the number one detergent to the cheaper brand - it makes no difference. I still have to double rinse everything. Small throw rugs will not even get totally wet or clean. I took clothes to the laundromat just to make sure it was the washer. It is this washer. I know I have waited too long to register my complaint, but I have basically thrown away $1200. Also, loads of clothes would take up to 1 & 1/2 to 2 hours to wash. Now that is definitely not energy efficient. I would love for you to pick it up and bring me a standard washer and dryer. I work for a research firm and know when companies really care about their customers. I will be interested to see if the Maytag Man really cares. The only reason I did not check angry is because of my delayed response.

Waiting for parts is even worse. This is a piece of crap appliance and we will never buy another Maytag.

We purchased a $945 Maytag 6.4 Cu. ft. self-cleaning freestanding electric convection range which was part of the stainless-steel package for $3600 + a $600-dollar 5 warranty. I did the research and found a solid 4.0 rating, so I went for it. Now I wish I never wasted my money and time. My 5-year warranty for all 4 appliances expired on 8/17 and now everything starts failing, how convenient. The oven will not heat past 340-350 degrees which won’t work with 90% of the stuff I bake. I called Maytag to see if it can be fixed and was quoted $400 for the issue but nothing else. I can pick up a new stainless-steel oven with the save features on a holiday sale for $500. Don’t waste your money on warranties!

Brand new top of the line top loader washer. Lid locked mid cycle and couldn’t open it. Called Maytag. Sent a repairman out to fix. Three trips later, 5 parts, and over four months later, still broken. Unable to use washing machine. Been going to laundromat to do laundry. When speaking with Maytag, all you get is a sorry. Now I’m waiting on another part and then schedule another appointment to have guy come install. Maytag would rather replace every part, one at a time, than send a new washer. It is beyond ridiculous for a new washer to have to have all of its parts replaced. It’s a hunk of junk and Maytag will not stand by their product. Worthless company. Will NEVER buy another product from them. Their washer and their service is so far below standards, it’s criminal.

We purchased a Maytag dishwasher in January of 2011. Two years later the entire machine stopped working. We had purchased the extended warranty and the control board and panel were replaced. Now two years later it happens again. Maytag/Whirlpool is of no help nor do they care. DO NOT purchase their product!! Multiple complaints and issues with faulty control panels and the cost to replace one is the same as buying a new dishwasher so they cant lose. I will never again own a Maytag or Whirlpool product.

Maytag is the brand I had for 18 years and never had a problem with the washer or dryer in all that time. So when my dryer died I decided to get a new set of Maytag washer and dryer. I picked the set together and they dont have a lot of bells and whistles, simple to use and the washer is an HE. Cost was about $900 for the pair. I bought the washer and dryer in May of 2015. Models are simple to use. I have not had any problems and quite pleased with the work they do.I like to stick with a brand if it has served me well. Energy costs need to be low and I look for sales. Capacity is something I do not need a lot of, since it is just two I am washing for. Good quality is what I look for. I have not ever had paint chipping or rusting. Never had socks missing or a bad result with cleaning or drying. The washer has a cleaning cycle and the dryer is very easy to clean, the lint filter, and I get great results with no static when I take clothes out of the dryer.

Its unfortunate that Maytag expects their products to be so short lived, they wont produce parts for their appliances after 7 years. They just told me they are only required by law to make parts for their products for 7 years so thats what they do. So unfortunately, if your microwave outlives its handle, youre going to have to replace the entire appliance which will cost me almost $500. I will never buy another Maytag or Whirlpool products because of this.

On the first day, first time, the washer wrinkled clothes so bad I could not get them out. I talked to Home Depot people and they said I must lay clothes around tub like pictured in the book. I did that and they were still wrinkled. I called the repairman who said nothing was wrong with the washer. I talked to Home Depot; they did not have the answer. I called the repairman and he checked it out. He found nothing wrong. He did watch it washing and said he had never seen a washer tangle and twist clothes like this before, called Maytag. They said that I was loading clothes wrong, and nothing was wrong with the washer. They would not give me a number to call above them. This washer is bad. Maytag has known it for 4 years and done nothing about it. Ive been ripped off.

Ordered new ones from dealer but rust continues and has spread to top of machine over the bleach dispenser. The metal is falling off! Bad rust on the inside lip under door also. I contacted Maytag when I first noticed rust and they blew me off so I contacted the local dealer we bought from and they did nothing to help. We bought our Maytag Bravo top loader on May 5, 2010. The machine was working fine. Then last week with no warning, the F51 error code popped up. We called Sears and they sent a repairman out. The result was the sensors work independently from each other (tested correct in the Ohms range). It made it through an entire diagnostic test, but will not complete a wash cycle. The repair guy concluded that the control board was bad. Estimated cost to fix was upwards of $400. I cannot afford to fix. Our issue with this product is that it is apparent, from reading all the forums, that this is a known issue. And we believe Maytag should be reimbursing consumers for this repair or they should recall the washer. Our washer is used on the weekends and it should have lasted us for minimally five years. All we wanted was to make it through one military overseas tour with it, not asking much. Instead, this machine lasted two years. Unacceptable.

First of all, the hoses that came with my washer leaked and were cheap made. My husband put the hoses from my old washing machine on the Maytag. Then, I hadnt had my Maytag washing machine but about two months when I had a problem with the mixer. I had to turn the hot water connection off in order to wash in cold water. When I called the store to explain the situation and ask if they had their own serviceman, the person I talked to made me feel like a complete idiot. He said in his twenty something years of selling Maytags, he had never heard of such a thing. Anyway, when a serviceman finally came, he also had to replace another part due to a recall. Now, my washer is right at four years old and is leaking from under it. My husband checked the hoses, and they are not the problem. I bought a Maytag thinking I was buying the top of the line but I guess I was wrong. I will not buy another one nor recommend them.

Maytag has really gone downhill. Had trouble with a factory defect in a new French door Maytag refrigerator within a few months (had it returned) and now the Maytag Centennial EcoConserve Top Load Washer no longer spins after only just barely 2 years of use... I will NEVER buy Maytag again. That is a promise. I will put more money and buy more expensive products from your rivals if it means avoiding Maytag products. That is my advice to anyone reading this review. The washer was used for MAYBE 10 loads of laundry per month... Yes, just for two people who have desk jobs so It was never stressed out. Used HE laundry detergent. Quality is a thing of the past for this company. Your reputation is in the doghouse.

Bought this machine last spring with high hopes. When I noticed issues, I looked up other reviews and saw so many having the same experiences. It does NOT use enough water to clean or rinse the clothes. My clothes are getting stretched and worn. I have to run extra rinse cycles to get the detergent out of my clothes. For the cost of this machine, it should be working much more efficiently than it does. Not seeing any savings in electricity or water bill due to extra cycles needed. Waste of time and money. Never EVER had an issue with it and it still runs perfectly. Well, just out of warranty in May of 2015, the ice maker stopped working in the new Maytag. Called and got service. Learned there was a recalled part. Service man fixed. 2 days later, it broke again. They came back out and fixed again. This time, the motor was REALLY LOUD. They came out to replace that. Now, both the freezer and refrigerator are not properly cooling. Cannot keep ice cream and cannot make ice. Called again. I was told these dual fan systems simply do not work. I am out of warranty and too bad for me. A wasted $2500!!!

First I would like to thank the salesman who has worked diligently to solve the problem I am having. The first load of dark clothes I washed came out with what looked like lint on them. It has to be scraped off. Yes I am using HE detergent. Yes I am using the minimum amount recommended by the manufacturer. & yes to all the other questions I have asked. The solution was to wash the dark clothes on power wash with an extra rinse. Very energy efficient! This was NOT the answer so I was given a 1-800 # to call. After giving all the necessary information & answering all of the questions about detergent etc. the conversation became a little more in depth. Does it happen with dark clothes? Do you dry your clothes outside or in a drier? It was becoming obvious to me that Maytag is aware of this problem. By this point I was even unhappier as no solutions were being offered. Finally after several would you mind holding the line again for just a minute he said he couldnt tell me to do this but some of his friends add a cup of vinegar to their wash. At this point I told him I was sorry I had ever bought this machine. He then said he would have a technician arrange an appointment. He arrived & declared I was using too much detergent even though by then I was using half on the manufacturers recommended amount. Buying an energy efficient washer where I have to use POWER WASH, EXTRA RINSE, VINEGAR & DRIER is not a good answer for a problem Maytag must be aware of as I read the reviews today. I have just done 2 loads of dark laundry with no detergent & the pants are marked so I WANT AN ANSWER.

Dryer wont dry/ service at dead end. So in 2018 we purchased a Maytag Bravos washer/dryer set. The washer does its job, it washes clothes acceptably. The dryer, which has the sole purpose of drying clothes, DOES NOT dry clothes. It leaves each and every load damp. Two to three cycles are required for even the lightest fabrics to dry. Maytag wall oven Model# MEW7530AB01 - We ordered this oven from Home Depot on Aug. 28/13. It was delivered on Sept.7/13. After a self clean cycle, the oven failed on Sept. 24/13. It was repaired on Oct. 23/13. Parts come from U.S. Im in Canada. Part # W10545255. It hadnt cleaned completely so I used the self clean mode again on Oct. 24/13. Oven failed. Fixed again on Nov. 15/13. Same part. Tested self clean again. Oven failed. Repairman fixed a different part. Thermostat #4449751. Oven still not working, had to order the front fuse again. Part # W10545255. Fixed Nov.19/13. Failed again Nov. 19/13. After not having a working oven for so long, Maytag finally agreed to send a new one. It arrived Dec.5/13. Tried cleaning cycle just to make sure. Oven failed. Same part. Called Maytag, told them I just wanted my money back. They refused. They would only repair. I agreed to have a repairman from another company come out. I told Maytag what part it was. They sent the repairman out on Dec. 19/13 with the wrong part. I called Home Depot a second time. I had called them after I talked to Maytag. This time Home Depot said they would take back the oven once it was repaired and I could have a store credit towards another brand. The repairman fixed the oven on Jan.9/14. Home Depot picked up the oven and replaced it with a GE and I love it.The part failing is a fuse in the top of the oven right at the front. Both repairman noted that a lot of heat is in this area during a self clean. When two ovens are having the same problem, I come to the conclusion that it is a design flaw and should be recalled. I only talked to one person at Maytag who was polite on the phone. That was the woman that got me the new oven. Everyone else was rude and hostile. I was even asked why I would clean a new oven. My experience was not a pleasant one at all. I wont be buying any products made buy the Whirlpool Corp. again.
