I bought the Maytag Bravos Series 300 Dryer in 2009. In September 2011, the dryer wont start. I called Maytag. They basically said were on our own. It only lasted two years. What happened to appliances that lasted 10 years? I will never buy a Maytag dryer again.

We bought a bottom freezer Maytag refrigerator a little over a year ago and have nothing but problems with it. It leaks and has ruined my hardwood floors. The lift lid for the meat and cheese broke. I have had other refrigerators with kids at home for 10-12 years and never had these problems. It is just my husband and me now so I know it does not get the abuse other refrigerator that were different brands received. I would never buy another Maytag refrigerator. I have been so disappointed with the product and the service. I read some other reviews and have to agree that Maytag could care less about their customers. I have also received several Im sorry, but basically we cannot help you.

We bought a New Condo, all New Maytag appliances with a 10 yr. warranty, the microwave is a built-in model. I cant believe weve only been here a year and eight months and it just stop working. We use it for heating and short timed cooking like 1 to 2 minutes. I would think a name brand product would last a lot longer than this. I had an off brand microwave for five years before the condo. A couple of times the microwave door didnt close, I thought I forgot to close it. But after reading your reviews I now realize its one of the defects of the product. I called the Maytag company, they informed me that if a serviceman come out to fix it, it will cost me $180 until they can determine if the cause is something covered by their warranty??? The Home Builders bought Maytag junk and passed us the cost, now Maytag wants me to pay to see if their junk can be fixed??? Wow!!! This is unbelievable!

In 2003, I purchased a brand new Maytag washer and dryer set, I chose Maytag because of their reputation. Within the first 6 months, I had a bearing go bad on it and that had to be fixed. It has become noisier and noisier throughout the years and now it is leaking all over the floor when I do a load. I am single, I live alone, I do laundry very seldom and do not do large loads. I am so disappointed with Maytag. When the repairman came out initially to fix it, he said that the brand he fixes most often is Maytag. Expensive lesson learned, Ill never buy any type of Maytag product again.

Purchased a non agitator washer 1 year ago. Constant frustration with the sensing technology. Cannot select a water level or load size. The expectation is that the machine will do that automatically. The water dispenses through the soap container adding soap to dry clothes which then leave white marks on dark clothes. All of the selections for loads do not have a water level close to covering the clothes. The only way to achieve coverage is to reopen the lid multiple times to restart the sensing feature. Another option is to add wet clothes to increase the weight to “fool” the sensor. Some clothes have come out of the wash still dry in areas. Every load, no matter what size takes a full hour to complete! There is no quick load to be done! I have paused the cycle to leave the house and the water drains from the machine causing you to begin your 1 hour cycle again. Epic fail by the Engineers to provide a user friendly machine. This one, as time goes on, just becomes more frustrating and yes very noisy during the spin cycle.

First of all how you wash a load of laundry with a cup full of water? I got this washer and dryer (XL Bravos) as a birthday gift from my husband. This is the worst washer Ive ever had. It takes forever to wash and the laundry is still dirty, it only has a cupful of water in it. Im so disappointed at Maytag for selling something like this. Bought this Maytag Bravos Washer online from Lowe’s in the holiday season
Bought this Maytag Bravos Washer online from Lowe’s in the holiday season of December 2017 because my previous Maytag HE washer broke after 17 years. I have had nothing but issues with this washer right from the start. The clothes do not come clean as I find myself putting them through the wash cycle two or three times to have them washed and come somewhat clean. The clothes come out soaking wet that I have to put them through the rinse and spin cycle at least one or two more times. I called Lowe’s to complain about this washer and they said they only have a 30 day return policy and they would be happy to call for service for me. I told them it didn’t work from the start but they didn’t care. So now, sadly, I have a repairman coming this week to fix my new washer, And hopefully he can fix it that I can use it and it can properly wash clothes. I wish I would have her read the reviews on Consumer Affairs about this washer before purchasing this Maytag. Not happy with Maytag. I would have never bought it and bought a different brand. Codes appear on the face of the washer better. Nowhere in the manual that I had to personally download myself because it didn’t come with one. And oh did I mention that I need a step ladder to reach into the bottom of the tub? This washer should come yellow because it is definitely a lemon!

I dont know where to start. This machine (Bravo XL Top Load Washer) is ridiculous! When I finally figured out how to start it, it did not rinse or spin clothes. I cannot figure out how to get it to do that so Im stuck with a washer full of wet clothes. To add insult to injury, I cannot reach into the washer to retrieve them. I am 52 and all washers are designed by freakishly tall people with NO REGARD FOR WOMEN apparently! Poorly designed! Poorly engineered! What a piece of junk!

We purchased a Maytag washer/dryer 5500 series in October of 2006. It was working good for the first few years, then gradually started failing on us. The clothes would not be clean or they would be soaked when done. Two days ago, on the board it kept blinking LR. So I checked all measures to make sure that it wasnt the motor or the front door lock. That door lock is a big pain! However, it happened to be both the motor and the bearing at the same. This is definitely not worth spending another $700 on. Goodbye Maytag, hello LG!

Maytag in general has gone from being reputable in the early 70s to being the epitome of a rip-off company that sells junk, then refuses to stand behind it. I have a Maytag Washer and dryer. The washer continually goes out of balance and spins across the floor. Repair people tell us that our floor is not strong enough - funny, our new Samsung washer has no apparent issues with the floor or anything else. Our Maytag Gemini is a piece of crap. The ovens do not work or heat up most days. Maytag pushes replacing an EOC board at $800.00, but then the part is not available. Stove is not even six years old. Maytag is a synonym for junk.

We (family of 2) purchased our Maytag Bravo XL Washing Machine Model#MVWB88
We (family of 2) purchased our Maytag Bravo XL Washing Machine Model#MVWB880BW in Nov. 2013 for over $700.00. Last week, Dec. 2019, the washer would not finish the rinse/spin cycle. The clothes were still wet. I researched troubleshooting in the Maytag booklet included with the machine and tried everything. It still showed an OL on the readout. It was not overloaded as I only had 3 towels, 3 washcloths, and 3 hand towels in the washer. I tried just the rinse/spin cycle alone to get the water out of the clothes, but they remained wet, and the OH still appeared on the machine. When I called the place where we bought it, they suggested unplugging it, waiting and plugging it back into the outlet to possibly reset the machine. That seemed to work for 1 very small washload. The next day, I tried washing again and the OH appeared with the clothes still being wet. We had a repair person come out. The service call/diagnostic of $116.98 plus repairs of $304.41 plus $95.00 to install of the new Motor Control Board. I feel that cost is excessive for only 6 years of service. Before we bought this machine in 2013, I had a Maytag which lasted over 20 years with NO problems. I always thought Maytag was the best washer, but this experience has proven to change my mind. We went out and bought another washer rather than replacing the board not knowing how long the new one would last. Needless to say, we did not buy another Maytag. I do not feel I can trust the Maytag products anymore. After this experience, I did more research on the Direct Drive used in this particular model washing machine and found that it had been problematic. I would have thought Maytag would have offered a recall to avoid these costs/problems and avoid dissatisfied customers. Along with the original purchase of the Maytag washer in 2013, we did buy the matching dryer and are hoping the dryer will last longer than the washer. We shall see.... This has been an unexpected and expensive lesson.

I purchased your refrigerator (model #mfd2561heb) in 2005. I bought a Maytag, because I thought it would last me a lifetime. I came to find out it will not. I called Maytag, and got Repair Plus One. The repairman came out without a compressor or capacitor. Now, I have to wait 4 days or more. I have a 3 year olds birthday party, of which we will be working out of our 19 year old Kenmore in the garage, which has worked flawlessly. To make it short, you lost me as a customer, because of this product! I just wanted to let you know. It is sad too, as we enjoyed the refrigerator. Its been making noise for awhile. I thought it was just part of the ice maker. Now, it cost me another $299, plus all the food I had to throw out! There was a big recall of refrigerators from Maytag around the time mine was made. I think that this model should be part of that recall as well. Dont buy a Maytag! They may have had quality at one time, but I just think those days are gone. Thank God for our Kenmore in the garage. I dont know what I wouldve done without it.

We purchased a high capacity washer (MVWB835DW), along with the matching dryer, two years ago from Lowes. This review is not about Lowes. They did the best they could to make things right. The review is about the Maytag washer (made and serviced by WhirIpool). It has been nothing short of a debacle. The first two washers did not work and had to be replaced. The third and current washer has been repaired three times, including the drum and motor. We have been without the use of the washer for over a week each time while waiting for parts and Whirlpool to approve the repair. The washer is not high capacity as advertised. Filling the drum even half way results in the washer stopping mid cycle whereupon we have to adjust the contents back into balance. In addition, the machine leaves a lint residue on dark clothing that has to be wiped off by hand. We have asked Maytag/Whirlpool to replace the machine but they say it has to fail for the same issue four times in order to qualify for replacement. We are done and will purchase another washer from a different manufacturer. It’s easy to understand why Samsung and LG have become such a dominate force in the laundry sector. Whirlpool/Maytag does not care about you or the problems with their product. Buyer beware!

Failed control panel Quiet Series 300 - After seeing countless notations on the net concerning failing touch panel and control boards, now my relatively new dishwasher has started its demise. It is terrible that so many people have the same problem. I sent an email to Maytag and have promptly been ignored. Unless it sets your house on fire, I guess they are not interested as I am no longer interested in supporting this product. It is nice that you can post such similar design failures for the world to see. Thanks Maytag!

We purchased the Maytag over the range microwave December 2014. Three months after installing it the door cracked. Maytag did replace the door and the repairman thought it might be due to the heat from the stove (huh, it was designed to go over the stove, where there will be heat). Now, six months after that, the layers of plastic on the door are separating and the piece around the control panel is cracked. Maytag agreed to replace the control panel but refuse to replace the door as it is only cosmetic (their words). So much for paying a little extra for what we thought would be a quality product. It seems to me that if something was made to go over the stove, it should be made to withstand the heat.

Front load washer is four years old. Approximately two years after owning the washing machine it started burning and ripping our clothes. Maytag sent someone out to repair at no cost. The problem stopped. However, approximately two years later it is happening all over again. Thus, there is either a deficiency in the Maytag product or the repair has failed. Maytag will only repair at our cost. True, the washer is four years old but the same problem keeps happening. Plus, that is not a long time in the life of a washing machine. The customer should not be held responsible for a recurring problem with their product. The front load washer and dryer were very expensive. We will NEVER buy Maytag and we will continue to share our disappointment to whoever will listen. It is shameful that Maytag says they stand by their product but when its put to the test Maytag completely fail. Double thumbs down for Maytag and customer service!!!

Omg I am so shocked at all the complaints about these refrigerators.. I too bought refrigerator, stove, microwave, dishwasher from Lowes after a storm just about destroyed our home. I was so excited to have such a beautiful refrigerator and new kitchen...but shortly after it started freezing on the bottom of freezer and leaking all over. My new floors and kitchen cabinet are ruined. Every other day we have to break up ice and clean it out from freezer.. it still then leaks.. several family members have slipped and hurt themselves. Please if anyone knows how to get it fixed without it costing us a fortune let us know. Maytag (Whirlpool) knows it is a defect... Why will they not fix it? I cant afford a new refrigerator and shouldnt have to after only two years.. If a class action comes up.. please contact me. Shame on them...

My Maytag top loading washer, 4 years old, stopped working in the middle of a wash cycle. Registered Maytag repairman did a diagnosis and finally identified the problem with the control board. The cost of the control board would have cost almost as much as the original wash machine especially since I had to pay for the current service call and labor (to diagnose the problem). In July 2012 I purchased a Maytag BTM standard door refrigerator from Home Depot. Approx. 2 weeks from the 1 yr. Standard warranty July 2013, my refrigerator started cycling like every 20 minutes and loud popping noises started occurring. 1st service tech would only stay 15 minutes & did not want to stick around to hear the noise. Ran the standard tests and said everything was fine. That was around Aug. 2013. So I put up with it for a few more months and finally the popping noise was getting louder. 2nd service guy (Jan. 24, 2014) got to hear my video recording of the refrigerator cycling and loud popping noise. He replaced a bad dul part (Note: they all wanted to blame it on our ice maker that we never ever hooked up). Oops...wrong diagnosis. Whatever he replaced stopped the constant cycling pattern but now the popping noise is getting even louder like a shotgun going off. 3rd repair guy (Feb. 20, 2014) tells us that is normal and recycle product material is not that good nowadays?? I pay a $1000.00 for a noisy refrigerator and they say it is a normal sound. I dont think so. The refrigerator is now popping so hard that the right side of my refrigerator that faces the open is now buckling due to the compression of the heating and cooling which is causing the loud popping noise. If you rub your hand down the side of refrigerator you can feel the waves forming on the side of the refrigerator. Trying to get a Maytag rep out here. Something needs to be done about the production of these bad appliances.

We lost our home in a tornado in 2005 and had to buy all new appliances. So, I bought a Maytag Neptune front load washer and dryer. It was my 1st ever. I will never buy another Maytag appliance again. Just at the end of the 5th year going into the 6th year, the bearings started to go. So, I checked with the place where we bought it and was told how expensive it would be to fix. It was anywhere between $500.00 and $700.00. Well, thats crazy. I therefore e-mailed Maytag numerous times and was thanked for my complaint. But they offered no help with this matter. If they dont back their stuff at all, why would I want to buy their stuff? They could have at least offered to help with it. There are only 2 people living in this house and there is no excuse why that washer should start failing already. If I thought it was worth it, I would load it up and drop it off at a Maytag store and leave it there. It still runs. But it makes an awful noise and we are just waiting for it to crap out. I am going to try to sell it for as much as I can get out of it, hopefully before it completely stops. Maybe some fix-it guy would want it. Well tell him whats wrong and they can fix it and sell it to some other poor person. I lost my job in January. Therefore, I cant afford that much to fix it. So, I will now have to try to find something used, because Maytag does not back their stuff. I would rate this machine lower if I could, but that wasnt an option.

Warranty dept. will not help you! I have been told by technicians sent to service my refrigerator after it spoiled food multiple times from not staying cold. The technician flat out told me that this refrigerator cannot be fixed but they are not allowed to say that it cannot be fixed. They will not return your calls and are just flat out rude. After asking to escalate a call, the rep said the manager will call me right back in a few minutes. Hours went by and I called again five minutes before they closed to speak to someone in management at that moment. This manager told me with no hesitation that they dont always believe what their technicians say because they send out techs that are good, okay, and not good. My first question is why is Maytag confident in the people they are sending to my house time and time again that stay for three hours?! She began to get rude and disrespectful and said, Well, if you had cancer, you wouldnt believe the first thing they say... I am in awe of these remarks. How do you compare a refrigerator to cancer?! I asked for a business address and stated that I would like the address to file with the Better Business Bureau and she told me that they have all the info I need. She refused to let me speak to anyone else. This situation is uncalled for when I have the technician telling me, This refrigerator is not repairable but they wont allow me to say that and Maytag will not make this an easy process for you. This Maytag Bravos HE machine has the poorest design! It doesnt use enough water on the normal cycle so I always have to use the bulky load just to get the clothes wet. The old washers used to spin the water out thus keeping the load even. This machine drains the water first and then tries to spin an uneven load! When this happens the machine bangs loudly from side to side, stops, refills with more water and starts the whole process again until it fixes its problem or until you go shake out the entire load and reposition everything. Then it uses more water to start the process all over again. It takes twice as long to do a load of laundry.Every time I use it I say I hate this machine! This machine should have never been released without extensive testing. Maytag could have figured out all of their own problems and fixed them so we wouldnt be writing all of these bad reviews. A recall should have been done years ago and the problems all fixed. I will never buy Maytag again!

I have had a number of Maytag washing machines in my life and have never disliked a machine as much as the last one I purchased! The bleach dispenser is awful and any bleach that happens to land on the outer rim has ruined many clothes. I took them to my dealer to show him the ruined clothes and was told bleach does not evaporate do must be wiped off each time. I purchased this machine on April 11, 2017 and can not afford to go buy another washer at this time. The Dealer can not help me and when I called Maytag they were not interested! Buyer beware!

I went to Home Depot in Kennesaw, Ga to purchase new W&D combo. I had found what I wanted but when the sales went to complete my order, the units I selected werent available. She talked me into the Maytag Bravo, but I specifically stated I needed a large tub because I wash a lot of towels and sheets. Well this expensive piece of shhh, doesnt even get all the items wet. Ive had to lift the lift and physically flip items in tub, especially with towels and sheets. Also, the washer is loud, did I say loud, I mean freaking loud. The dryer is fine, but I bought combo for a reason... Pricetag $1200.00 with my discount. I waited a week for delivery, I am mad as hell. Whats point of having large tub, when you barely get enough water. Luckily I found out now, so I can have them pick this CRAP UP, Do not buy. Theyre cute looking, but washer does not get your clothes clean.

I will never buy another Maytag product, and moreover, will tell everyone I possibly can, not to do so either. Like many others, I have a two-year-old dishwasher that needs a control board already, and from what Ive read this wont be the first time. It would cost $150 for the part, plus the service calls make it around a $350 experience. The only choice is to pull the machine out, or buy a 5-year warranty for another $318.56. Grand total for your marvelous high quality Maytag that lasts only 7 years? Around $1,000. I am so sad, the company used to symbolize quality but now when I see the logo, I think of landfills.

Constantly does not clean clothes, always out of balance, codes constantly come up, only 2 1/2 years old and already rusting out. No matter what you do this washer does not want to work. Has special cycles for bulky loads but try to wash 7 towels and it will dance all over floor then shut down with an unbalanced code and you have to unplug to reset then wash towels again but not use spin and have to wring out towels by hand. I cannot believe the Maytag company has not recalled this very expensive pile of junk, and their service department is very rude and not helpful at all. Also as soon as you call an appliance repair company and tell them its a Maytag Bravos they say we do not fix those, do yourself a favor and junk it and buy any other brand. I have 3 kids now grown so we have bought about 5 washers over the years and when we saw that this was supposed to save water and energy and do bigger loads we were sold. Big mistake! Whatever you do never buy any appliance from Maytag. Products are garbage, service is nonexistent, and the cost will make you boil.

After 16 months my Maytag dishwasher control panel went bad. The company told me they could not help me. I asked for a new control panel to install myself, no luck. I bit the bullet and bought one online for 110 dollars. 2 months later... you guessed it, its bad. Now I have to send it back under warranty. It was a Maytag name brand OEM part. At 36 months old, my Maytag refrigerator has already suffered from a Freon leak. After repair, the leak continued causing the fridge not to produce ice. After another Freon charge 7 days later, the fridge will freeze ice only in a manual ice tray. The water in the ice maker for whatever reason will not freeze? To make matters even worse, the freezer fan has been noisy for the last year. Maytags solution is to purchase extended warranty for $300 plus or hire repair person at $100 for first hour. A 36 month old refrigerator is in essence a disposable item. Basically for a $700 fridge… that breaks down to about $20.00 per month service charge and then it’s time to replace!

I bought this new washer and dryer pair at Lowes August 2018. I chose this brand because of the very large wash tub (5.3 cu ft) since I have king size bedding. My previous washer was a front loader, and there were problems with the door seal molding and stinking, and loads had dry spots on them after washing. So within a very short time, I realized I hated this new washer. Very noisy, no agitator, very long cycles. You cannot adjust the time or water levels, and the biggest problem... I CANNOT REACH THE BOTTOM OF THE TUB! I had to steal the grabby toy out of our toy box to pull the wet load out! The laundry comes out all tangled up and horribly wrinkled, even when using the wrinkle-free setting. I line dry a lot of my clothes and now have to iron everything. Never had to do that before. I know Im stuck with this set, but will look forward to the day when it dies and I can buy new ones again.

I purchased a Maytag dryer (MDE2400AZW) 2 years ago, but have only been using it for the last year - and fairly infrequently, as this is a dryer that my guests use. I called Home Depot where I bought the dryer (along with the washer). I thought I had purchased an extra warranty, but turns out I only had it on the washer - what was I thinking. I wish I had read these reviews before I made my purchase. My local repair man charged me $192.00 for a new heater and his time. Theres a whole 90-day warranty on the new heater!! I sure hope this one lasts more than a year otherwise Ill be buying a new dryer and it wont be Maytag.

We got our Maytag fridge approx.18 months ago. There was no trouble the first year and there has been nothing but trouble for the last five months. The freezer started frosting one day which causes temp to get in danger zone - we defrost it with a hair dryer about every week and it has continued to frost up ever since. We have a friend that works for a certified Maytag repair business. He came to our rescue five times and called Maytag hot line for help.Together, they could only suggest that the gasket be replaced. He could not see anything wrong with it but we changed it just in case. Still, the problem continues. When we called Maytag customer service (877-556-57420), we were told that no one has had the problem before us. We just looked online; there are 521 complaints about Maytag. My question now is, how do we get a class action lawsuit going?

Maytag Bravos XL Washer and Dryer. How exciting to get a new washer/dryer!!
Maytag Bravos XL Washer and Dryer. How exciting to get a new washer/dryer!! Im a savvy bargain and quality shopper, but I really messed up here. A little over a year ago, we moved from IL back to TX and I got to buy a new washer AND dryer at the same time (a rarity). I went and looked at SO many washers/dryers and decided on the Maytag Bravos XL because a friend said she loved hers. It had a deep water wash and bedding cycle (for our blankets, comforters, sleeping bags, etc), and I thought that I could throw that wayward sock in after I started the load (unlike our previous front load washer).Where do I begin with the complaints? (And Im NOT a complainer - never filled out a review in my life). This is what I sent to Maytag: 1) Im 55 tall and can barely reach the items at the bottom of the drum, along with the lid falling on my head when Im trying to do so. 2) Forget throwing in the wayward sock - it must finish the cycle its in before it will let you unlock the lid (Where did locked lids come from anyway? Is that how those missing socks are disappearing - escaping out of unlocked lids? What are we trying to keep in or who are we trying to keep out of the machine? Doors you lock - not washing machines! I dont get it!).3) Even the deep water/bedding wash cycle does not do the job. Using the exact recommended measurement of HE liquid soap does not get the items clean. What a chore to take something out and have white detergent lines all over it and have to wipe it down with a wet cloth. Sure, I could then do a rinse and spin cycle, but since it doesnt add enough water, it doesnt come out much better. The machine senses by weight how much water to use. I am positive that every energy efficient machine is now programmed to add exactly 4 cups of water per load (regardless if its a comforter or one pair of jeans).4) Supposedly, we are saving so much water usage, but energy efficient is a misnomer - it takes me twice as long to do laundry now. The time factors are ridiculous. There are no quick cycles on this machine. If I have a load of delicate tops that just need a quick wash and rinse before I hang them out (I was not out baling hay in them, so its not like they are filthy dirty. In Texas, its the sweat that you are trying to eliminate), the least amount of time I can find on a cycle is 45 minutes. I might as well hand wash them all and be done in 5 minutes. But, that was the point of the washing machine - to do the work for me! And forget the deep water wash cycle of 58 minutes, plus the added rinse and spin cycle (to try and remove the white soap line). Its now taken one and one-half hours to try and clean/refresh a barely soiled comforter.5) The spin cycle is SO efficient, that I have items come out totally dry many times in certain spots. Im washing a comforter right now and I can guarantee you that when I remove it from the washer, there will be an entire section that looks like it never even got wet. Im no engineer, but after watching through the see-through lid, the agitation is not working well enough to get to every section.6) I havent seen a soap bubble or suds yet. You are told to use such a small amount of detergent, Im not sure how anything actually gets clean. The clothes are sprinkled with water, agitated a small amount, spun until they are almost dry and voila - the same dirty clothes come out! 7) The dryer has now ruined 2 of my bras as the hooks get caught in the mesh panel at the back. It literally melted part of the bra! I tried hooking them together before I threw them in there, but now have to put them in a lingerie bag to keep them from being mauled and mutilated. I have NEVER in 37 years of marriage and washing had that happen before.8) I literally could not get my dryer to turn on and a repairman had to come out to the house to show me the amount of pressure I had to use in one finger to start the dryer. I had almost taken a hammer to it before he arrived. Can you imagine pressing the start button on anything - the dishwasher, a hair dryer, a TV remote control, and it not turning on? And all because you pressed too hard or too light? This computer age and electronic panels are killing me! 9) The dryer has the same locking system as the washing machine. So, if you didnt see the wayward sock on the floor or between the two units until after you pushed (lightly, of course) the start button, you have to stop the unit before you can open the door to throw the sock in.I didnt mean to write a novel (about a washer and dryer, no less)! But, I feel better and hope that I have saved one woman from making the same mistake I did. Read those reviews AND believe them. And by the way, my friend who recommended the Bravos XL to me looked at mine and said Thats NOT my washer and dryer. Evidently, mine was the new and improved version! So much for that claim!

We bought our Maytag Bravos in December 2010. Four months out of warranty, like many other complaints Ive read, we started getting the loud jet taking off noise from the laundry room. Now we are having issues with the lid lock not allowing you to get to the clothes. This machine tries to spin three times and then locks up. It literally locks the lid and will not allow you to get to your clothes! For a machine to fail just four months out of warranty is a joke! After investigating the problems with the machine, it will cost us more to repair than what we originally paid for the washer in the first place. Give me a break! There should be a recall and Maytag should have their feet held to the fire to replace these less than adequate high-dollar machines!

Bought a Maytag HD top load washing 11/4/17. Within the first month the machine began to make a loud squealing noise during the wash cycle. A repairman came out 2 times before finally replacing the gearbox and tub. Within the last month or so the problem began again, another repairman came out twice, and once again, had to replace the gearbox and tub. When he left I ran a load and the machine sounded like a war was occurring inside of it. Very loud banging and grinding... heck I was wishing for just the squealing back! Not only did I buy a Maytag washer for the brand name and trusted longevity, but because they were always a good product in the past. When my Maytag EZ-Epic washer drum failed after only owning it for two years, there was no effort made by any associate to cover this under any sort of warranty at all. To replace this part, I was quoted so much money that I could go out and buy a brand new one for the cost of the repair for this faulty part. I am extremely dissatisfied with the way I was treated because the so called product was out of warranty and I will never buy a Maytag product again. I purchased Maytag refrigerator (model # MSD2572VES). The fridge side stopped working. I was told that the vent/chute between the freezer and fridge ices up and prevents the cold air from the freezer to go through the fridge. The tech said that Maytag was sending him a tube of silicone to apply all around freezer and fridge and that this will probably fix the problem. So in other words, because of a design flaw, the refrigerator cannot function without adding silicone (maybe). I believe I purchased a lemon with a design flaw and they want me to accept a permanent band-aid as the solution. Shouldnt I have right to demand another model instead of having to accept a cheap alternative (silicone)? Now, if factory installed parts break off, can you imagine silicone tubed in after the fact where there was no silicone crevasse? I cant imagine it staying on - permanently.

Refrigerator (Model Mff2558vems) purchased end of November 2011. Early in 2013 notice refrigerator first forming ice all over freezer, including an ice sheet on bottom of freezer. Then noticed water around refrigerator. Called maytag and they sent repairman even though a little over year and out of warranty. Their service people seemed to know exactly what was causing the leak as they came in with the correct replacement part. Worked fine however, there was damage to my newly refinished hardwood floors which Maytag did pay to repair. A couple of days ago I opened the freezer and again noticed ice all over freezer. The next day, water all around freezer. I cleaned everything up, so I thought. The day after, we noticed the hardwood in kitchen buckling up far from refrigerator and the laminate in dining room bubbling, even though there was no visible sign of water. Called Maytag repair company but they couldnt come out for a couple of days. Called another local repair service familiar with Maytag refrigerators and he couldnt find anything wrong with refrigerator even though he knows leaking caused by refrigerator. Called insurance co. and they sent over service master. Leak is definitely coming from refrigerator. They had to pull up hardwood floor, part of walls, the dining room. They now have five large fans going and a defroster to dry things up. This is upsetting, as my daughters wedding is next month, my husband is currently laid off and I dont need this kind of aggravation again. I love the french door idea, so roomy for my large family, but I am now afraid of this refrigerator. I dont want it but think it is ridiculous I have to shell out more money when the refrigerator is less than 3 years old. I talked with a higher level supervisor at Maytag and they are only willing to give a 100.00 rebate towards a new refrigerator since the refrigerator is out of warranty. This is ridiculous. I thought by buying American I was helping our economy but what I got in return is heartache and crappy merchandise. If there is a lawsuit in California against Maytag about these refrigerators I want to join. My friend in N. CA who bought her Maytag refrigerator the same time I did is also experiencing leaking. So frustrating.

I purchased a Maytag Bravos HE top loading washing machine two years ago. The clothes hardly get wet enough to get clean. It leaves a residue on dark clothes and the basket goes unbalanced at the drop of a hat. Whatever you save in water, you spend on electricity because a cycle takes twice as long as a conventional washer. It goes out of balance and bangs the machine enough to walk it across a room. On December 22, 2013 I purchased a Maytag front loading washer Model # MHWEE201YW00 from The Home Depot. On July 28 the bearing failed and greased my clothes and rendered the washer unusable. On August 1st I contacted the Maytag Customer Service Line; the wait for contact was approximately 20 minutes, not a very good answer time and unfortunately the best I would receive during this process. Despite the wait, I received good response and had a service call set up for Wednesday August 6th.On Wednesday August 6th, a service technician from Quaker City Appliances took a look at our washer and determined that the bearings had failed and that the entire drum assembly would need to be replaced. He stated that anytime the bearings fail this soon, it typically means that the bearings weren’t pressed properly or the drum wasn’t tightened enough and that he would order the parts as soon as he got back to the office. On Friday August 8th, a representative from Quaker City Appliances called and notified us that the part was no longer available and instructed my wife to call Whirlpool Customer Service and give them this number **, to coordinate a replacement washer. I called later that afternoon and spent over an hour waiting and was transferred between departments. The first representative was very cordial and professional; the second who I believe was from the Tech-line was anything but. In my career I have held responsibility for customer service and while there are many golden rules, one of the most important was never to tell the customer “I can’t”, well Cheyenne (I believe that was her name) couldn’t help me with anything and clearly told me so. She explained that my problem was referred to the Trade Partners and I needed to call back to Quaker City Appliances on Monday. On Monday August 11th, I called Quaker City Appliances, who promptly informed me that the matter was turned over to Whirlpool and I need to contact them as there was nothing else that could be done. Later that day I called back to customer service, again waiting between two representatives at least an hour. I was informed that my matter was with the Trade Partners and that I will need to wait one to two days for a phone call. A phone call that never came…..Yesterday August 14th, I contacted Whirlpool customer service, again waiting over twenty-five minutes for the first contact, and then was eventually handed over to the tech line and another wait. Eventually, I spoke to a very pleasant representative who gave me the Trade Partner number and transferred me, unfortunately I was disconnected. I called back and found out that the office closed at 5:00. Today I called the Trade Partner line (1-800-874-4698) at about 3:30 and after 40 minutes I have given up and decided to write this letter. All I want is a functioning washing machine.

Depot said they couldnt take them back. $300 Roper washer and dryer work much better than these units I paid like $1100.00 for. Maytag reputation is **. I have Amana front loads in another house that wash in 29 minutes and they come out perfect. Amana dryer works great also. DONT BUY MAYTAG ON THEIR ** REPUTATION AND CONSUMER SERVICE WONT DO ANYTHING!!! I would add the receipt but it just a waste of time.

We purchased a Maytag dishwasher mdb7749sbm1 in 2014 and have had nothing but problems with it since it was delivered. Within a year of owning it, the top jet fell off. We had it replaced and the repairman warned us that it would probably come off again due to a faulty latching system. In the last six months one of the brackets that holds the upper shelf has broken off and the dishwasher leaks every time we use it.My last cycle leaked so bad that essentially it completely soaked the extra large bath towel we place in front of it and travelled halfway through my kitchen. Not to mention that it never washed dishes well, regardless of what cycle we use, which/how little or much detergent/rinse agent and it does not filter at all, as theres debris all over my dishes and glasses. I am now looking to replace it before like other reviewers a control panel fire occurs. Strongly recommend staying away from this brand.

Purchased a Maytag Bravos XL less than 3 years ago Model MVWB725BW0. We have had several repair calls. From reading complaints from others, I have the same: clothes balloon, clothes rip, dark clothes have a scum on them, even a blanket goes off balance and it is hard to start the cycle. It goes off balance all the time, makes a squeaky sound when agitating and the housekeeper can never figure out what cycle to run the clothes on because they always go off balance, there is a loud vibration, etc. The last repair call was for an actual leak on the floor! The appliance company charged us $95 for the service call, did nothing, and told us the parts would be more expensive than a new washing machine. Went to Home Depot today and purchased an LG washer and dryer for over $1500. I am not even going to try to recoup anything from Maytag because this is the second Maytag that I have had a bad experience with and didnt learn a lesson in the first place. Junk. :(

If you are looking for the Maytag repairman he will be at my house Tues fixing my barely 1 yrs old dishwasher. This is ridiculous to pay this amount of money for the reputation that Maytag is known for or I will say was known for. $270.00 for a control panel. My last Maytag lasted over 30 yrs. Not made in the US - not built to last and this was told to me by the people that installed it so take it for what its worth. Look elsewhere. My last Maytag product.

Purchased a Maytag French door freezer underneath refrigerator 8 years ago. It stopped working because of the circuit board located behind the ice and water compartment on April 7th. Contacted a Maytag repairman, which is a whole other story. Had to order the part, weeks and weeks go by telling us the part is coming. Then a call came from the repair man on June 17th, Maytag no longer makes the part. Meantime we located the part by taking the fridge apart ourselves and ordered it arriving today June 19th. Contacted Maytag - Whirlpool corporate. Answer, We are sorry we no longer make the part, and basically told me after spending $2800.00 8 years ago Im up the creek without a paddle.

We bought all Maytag appliances two years ago when we redid our kitchen. I have had nothing but a nightmare with my Maytag dishwasher. It started to leak so we called in the service repair person. He said he could not find the leak but tightened something in the washer, it still leaked. We had him come in again because it still leaked and nothing. We called in a plumber to see if he could find the problem. He couldn’t find anything wrong with the plumbing and thought it might be the washer door seal. The washer is still leaking, it will be the third time the repair man is coming to fix the washer. At this point, I just want to get rid of my two year old dishwasher. I will Never buy another Maytag product. This ordeal has been a nightmare with no help from Maytag service centre. So, so, disappointing.

Maytag Top Loading Washer-We bought this machine a little over a year ago and it is one of the worst products weve ever purchased. More often than not clothes barely get wet and then wad up into a twisted mess which stops the machine. Ive had to restart a load over and over. And, the clothes are not as clean as they were from our former Maytag washer which lasted 14 years. The new washer has to be cleaned at least once a month or it smells. We purchased this washer from HHGregg and they are no longer in business or I would complain to them about selling faulty products. I dont know why the manufacturer decided to remove the agitator from new models. What a mistake! We have decided to get rid of this washer and buy another brand. No more Maytag (or Whirlpool) products... ever!

This is a wonderful washing machine. For cleaning clothes it does exactly what you expect from a washer. We have had 2 Neptune front loaders. They, however, have a couple flaws I dont want to live with again and will be looking for one that has come up with the solution to them. One, the bearings on them need replaced on a periodic basis or it sounds like a 747 taking off. Two - the front gasket around the barrel has a mold problem no matter how much you try to keep the thing clean. Other than that, these machines perform fantastic.

I purchased a MTW6600TB0 Washer and Dryer on 6/17/07. I have had issues with the washer from the beginning; smell in towels and mechanical problems as well. The machine does not fill properly and receive error codes that are electrical issues per A & E service. I get LF errors occasionally and randomly on different cycles. I finally called for service because I now am receiving F51 Error, which has to do with the basket per A & E service technician. I was told on Black Friday that my machine required both baskets and the rotary motor. My machine is just 4/5 years old. No unusual wear and tear. There are only three people in my family and we live in a fairly warm climate so no heavy winter clothing, etc. I was told that my stainless steel basket was rusting to my plastic basket. I am still trying to comprehend the fact that two materials that are not supposed to rust are rusting. After looking for a new washer over Thanksgiving weekend, I find out that Maytag warranties their stainless steel basket and rotary motors for 10 years. So do they warranty the things they say the warranty or not? Of course, it is a holiday weekend and I cannot get a hold of Maytag. I paid for a service call and the technician told me I would be responsible for the repairs at about $500 for parts plus labor. I looked up the parts he recommended replacing and it was over $800. I paid $1000 for this machine less than 5 years ago. Thats $200 a year for the privilege to use a Maytag. Additionally, my set is black. I can not find a black washer anywhere.

Even WORSE, the machine wrinkled the permanent press so the clothes had to be ironed before wearing. (I rarely had this with my last washer). I used the machine settings correctly and I called the company and basically...was told, Youre out of luck. I hoped that it would improve but No Way! Dont purchase this machine, dont waste your $$$.

I purchased a Maytag commercial residential washer in late 2018, supposed to have a warranty for at least 5 years. We are in California and I was told that there was only one facility that could come two weeks later. I removed the front panel to have it ready for service tech, who on the first visit kept saying he did not know what the problem was, and left telling me he would order parts. After Christmas, I could not get in touch with service so again called Maytag. Service was supposed to come out on the 30th.After waiting almost 3 hours, he called to tell me he did not have the parts. Also, this repair tech treated me very bad since I removed the front panel which I thought I was being nice. He called me back on the 30th, said someone gave him a part, and came. All he did was remove control panel, lost the start button and told me it worked without checking it at all. He was rushing to another appointment so I tried to start it and it still had the original issue, which was slow agitator and a rubbing/grinding sound. Now, after he did something with control panel it had a clicking sound. I immediately called corporate and was told when he came back, which has now been over a month with no washer, that he would be with a senior technician.January 5th I waited all afternoon and he called and said he was not coming and that my whole washer would have to be rebuilt. He never replaced the parts on previous invoices I received, and I filed a complaint with the BBB. Now they are completely lying. Technician trying to say I had the control panel apart which is not true, and does not match up with the invoices I received. They are telling me my warranty is voided! Its been a month and a half. I was treated rudely from the beginning and now I am obviously being retaliated against. I have 3 kids, two with severe medical problems and have put so many hours into calling with all these issues.I had another service place come out and he removed the agitator and the transmission shaft/drive motor is rusted out, as well as the parts he said he replaced are worn and definitely not new. For this company to come back after all this time and say I did this, when I have the original invoice that clearly states otherwise is absolutely the worst service ever.I bought this machine thinking it would last, and now have to deal with all this. I have nerve damage and it is very difficult to take all the laundry for a family of 5 to do at laundromat. They refused to send someone else out, where they could easily have seen this repair tech never did what he said, and was unable to diagnose and fix the issue. Its appalling to me that this is how they treat customers. Laura ** at corporate is the one saying warranty is voided. The machine looks brand new as it has always been taken care of. They should be ashamed of themselves. Apparently, this is the standard a lot of times with people trying to get things serviced under a Manufacturer warranty!

In October of 2012 we bought a Maytag Refrigerator Model MFF2258VEM. In the spring and summer of 2014, we noticed puddling on our kitchen floor. We thought it was our dishwasher or sink since the $1800+ fridge was new, but couldnt find the problem. We travel a lot and are gone for extended periods. When we returned in winter of 2014, we discovered that there was substantial puddling and found a sheet of ice in the bottom of the freezer compartment. We did research and found that this is a common problem with all the bottom-freezer Maytag models, which then leak. We discovered that the leak had seeped into our kitchen sub-floor and was destroying all of our kitchen floor tile, causing cracking and breaking, a renovation of just a few years previous that cost a lot of money. There was NO problem with the floor until we put in this Maytag refrigerator. The remedy for the leaking is constant maintenance and a lot of work, totally ridiculous for a product that costs so much. I want to sue Maytag for both replacement of the refrigerator and the cost of replacement of my tile floor. Can someone please advise? Thank you.

I have nothing but great reviews for my Maytag experience... In approx 1975 I purchased a Maytag W&D, Model MAH4000 MDE4000, when their advertisement was portraying Maytag repairmen as the loneliest repairmen. Maytag was so dependable that the repairman was NOT needed...and it was true... That Maytag W&D set lasted til approx 1998 when it was upgraded to the Maytag Neptune MAH4000 series... Had a minor problem with mold in the washer, but Sears and Maytag replaced the seal and made another modification... We also dried the seal at the end of the washing day and left the door slightly ajar between uses... Have not again had that problem.I have since given the Neptune set to my daughter and the washer and dryer are still in operation, WORKING SUPERBLY I might add... So I am searching for a good quality Model MAH4000 and MDE4000 to replace my current much older, yet functional Whirlpool... It may need some repairs and about a year ago, I spent $173 to replace the Pump which was clogged by a sock inadvertently stuffed around the top of the drum when too many items were pushed in at one time. I prefer not to throw additional money at this machine! So, if you know of a Quality pre-owned Maytag Neptune washer and dryer in the Lexington KY area, please contact me...

My Maytag Front Load Washer Model MHWE200XW purchased from Sears had a malfunctioning spin cycle. The machine had light use over the past 15 months, and hence was not covered under warranty. We purchased a Maytag stainless steel French door refrigerator from Home Depot in 2011. The thermostat control (a circuit board made in China) broke and was replaced in 2012 by a certified repair person. He reminded me to dust underneath regularly, which Ive done. A couple of weeks ago I noticed some darkening of my wood floor to the left of the refrigerator and so I pulled it out from the wall a bit. What I saw was that my entire floor was wet and falling apart under the left side and when I looked into the freezer, I pulled out the bottom basket and the bottom was covered in about an inch of ice.I called, posted on Facebook and was put on hold several times for as long as 20 minutes before I hung up. I called Home Depot and asked them to intervene and speak to a rep from Maytag. I have heard nothing. There is black mold in the corner of my kitchen and a soaked floor that may go way beyond. I googled the leak and apparently this is very common with Maytag French Door refrigerators. I have a meeting with an attorney. Getting through to Maytag is seemingly impossible unless you have hours to wait on the phone. We have been getting sick for months and not knowing the cause.

I want to document my experience with Maytag refrigerator model # 1958XEW1
I want to document my experience with Maytag refrigerator model # 1958XEW1 and serial # K12947360. I purchase this refrigerator several years ago as a result of a recommendation of a general contractor who was doing kitchen remodeling work for me. After doing a brief online research on Maytag I went to Yale Electric a store in Boston to purchase a Maytag refrigerator. Worst mistake I ever made and I will never buy a Maytag product again (sad to say). This refrigerator has been leaking since the day it arrived from the store. Unfortunately for me I didnt notice the fridge leaking until after the warranty had expired (my bad). The leak was such as I could not isolate or say it was the fridge because the water would pool in an area that was away from the frig on my kitchen floor. One day by coincidence I actually saw the fridge leak so then I knew the water on my floor was coming from the fridge. I contacted Maytag who mentioned by that time my warranty had expired, however other people who had purchase this fridge model were experiencing the same problem. Maytag said that this leak problem could be fixed by changing the tubing located in the freezer section of the refrigerator to what they called a duckbill type of tubing. So I had that part sent to me and it was installed in the refrigerator freezer area. As you can imagine because I am writing this negative review that the water leak problem was not corrected and there is still water pooling on my floor from this refrigerator. I will never buy a Maytag product again and I wanted to share this experience with other potential buyers of Maytag products.

It doesnt clean the oven. Would never buy a range again with this oven cleaning system. I wanted to try a glass top stove but wish I hadnt. It is harder to clean and the glass scratches. This appears to be a common, known, well publicized problem - freezer drain clogs and needs to be either changed or repaired with a fix, a free replacement part for the drain seal. Easy to install, takes 15 minutes. HOWEVER Maytag will not give you the part!! In order to take advantage of Maytags correction for a well known, chronic, manufacturer defect, you must engage an authorized service person for hundreds of dollars and wasted vacation time waiting at home for them to show up. Unlike any other product, recall this one is not free. My kitchen is full of Maytag products; dishwasher (not so good), range and a refrigerator that had to be replace when the compressor went out after six years. However this is the last straw, Ive learned my lesson, seen the light, THIS IS THE LAST MAYTAG PRODUCT I WILL EVER BUY.

We bought a Maytag Neptune front loading washer from Bens Maytag in Surrey
We bought a Maytag Neptune front loading washer from Bens Maytag in Surrey four years ago and it has been nothing but trouble. There is no screen in the machine to prevent small things (like coins, screws) from going behind the rubber seal and into the pump. As a result, coins frequently block off the outflow to the pump so the machine doesnt drain. We have had to pay for service calls more times than we can count, and have spent more than original price of the machine making repairs and replacing the pump. We now have learned to take off the hoses and open the pump to remove coins ourselves, which we have to do every few weeks! Bens Maytag tells us that its our fault for letting coins go in the wash. There is no accountability for the faulty design of the machine that allows this to happen. We should have cut out losses and thrown this piece of junk out three years ago. We want Maytag to take responsibility for the faulty design of this product and to credit at least our purchase price toward another machine that works properly!

The Maytag Refrigerator Model #MFF2558VEW2 I purchased from Sears is a lemon. Ive had problems with the freezer getting a sheet of ice, under the storage basket. The ice starts melting, and pours out on the floor. I have to remove everything from the freezer basket, remove the sheet of ice, and mop the floor. Ive had problems with a great deal of noise coming from the unit as well. The unit has now stopped working completely. I called Maytag at 1-800-253-1301, and spoke with customer service. I was informed of a faulty part, in the freezer. I received the part in the mail, and a phone number of their contracted repair company. The repair man charged me $166.00 to install the part, and informed me the digital control board needed to be replaced as well, for an additional $170.00. I called Maytag again...they said nothing could be done about it. Ive had the refrigerator for 3 1/2 years, and had all these problems for over a year. Im not going to invest over $300.00 to repair a faulty product. Maytag should stand behind their products, and at least furnish the parts, or replace the unit, with something that actually works.

I purchased the gas stove in June of 2012 from Home Depot, along with a Maytag microwave (Model MGR7662WB4). Home Depot installed both items. After trying to reach into the microwave about the stove, the knob would turn itself on with me brushing up against it. This happened several times, and one time the flame shot up and I almost got burned. The last time it happened, I did not realize that the knob was turned very slightly and gas was coming out of the burner for several hours. If it were not for a friend stopping over, I would not have considered the odor being from the stove. I assumed that the drains were probably backed up and started to add cleaners to the toilet bowls. I had to open the windows for several hours to get the smell out. So I called customer service 2 times. The first person said I would have to pay for the call if the problem was not Maytag and I said, “Forget it.” Then I went into Home Depot and the salesperson in there gave me another number to call for service. They came last Friday and said that he had seen at least 10-15 calls about this and since the unit was working as designed and no recalls, there was nothing they could do. “Just wait and see if a recall would be put into place and I would be on the list to fix it. In the meantime just keep the knobs off (which I was doing already out of fear).” My sister just bought a Whirlpool gas range this summer as well and asked if I could try her knob and it worked perfectly. Again I called CS and was told they could not send me those at no charge and that it would cancel out the warranty. So I asked her what I have to do before I or someone else gets injured and she said that until there was a recall, there was nothing they could do. I told her I was going to contact Consumer Report as well as Pam Zekman on Channel 2 news in Chicago. End of story; I still have the problem and no knobs on the new stove. Anything you can do to help please contact me, and thank you in advance.

This dishwasher works great with regular plates and glasses but not so well with my plastic bowls or cups. Im trying different detergents to see if it makes a difference on how clean the dishes are when done.

We had this washer 16 months. We bought it new from Home Depot. The clothes came out with spots on them, white residue and grease spots. This was ongoing for awhile. The bearings went out after 6 months. It was so loud now the water pump went out. I was told by Whirlpool (they bought out Maytag) that water pump is on back order and could take a couple of months!! To fix the bearings and the water pump was almost 700.00. A new washer is 1000.00. We junked it and had to buy a new washer GE. We are sick about this waste of money!!! What a piece of JUNK this Maytag Bravos XL is!! We need to have a class action suit and try to get something back. This is ridiculous and they arent taking responsibility. Whirlpool/Maytag are rip offs!!!!

I have a Maytag Bravos washer bought 6 years ago. Recently, it started giving trouble by stopping at spin stage. I contacted a local service company and they immediately told me even without looking at machine, that it is a control board problem and will cost a lot to repair and suggested to buy some other company washer instead of repairing. They told it is the third similar complaint this week. But I contacted Maytag and they suggested their factory authorized technician who could not correctly locate the problem but charged for the visit. Later he also came to the same conclusion. Thus my previous washer from another company lasted for more than 20 years (Still in working condition), this washer required a service with a cost same as its price!!!
