I have had this washer 4 years...I bought this washer in May 2016. It makes 3 very loud noise as it moves into its next mode/cycle. Found out this is normal. IF, it is close to your living room, IT is loud.. I called again, saw that it was not filling up. 1/5/2017.. IT will NOT fill up to wash my clothes properly, clothes were still dry!!! Came out, (they sent a company near my area), said everything is right. I have tried, by sending messages, many times to get them to check. No one seems to care. The machine allows water to go out the bottom, rather than fill in the machine. I watched it myself. THERE should be a recall on this machine, definitely, something is sooo wrong.. I NOW have to put it on BULKY SHEETS full time, to get my wash clean.. NO energy savings there... BUT my clothes are finally clean!! Seriously, something is wrong...

Purchased a Maytag top loader. Hand wash clothes leaves a soap residue on clothes. Called Maytag they sent service out. Service tech said (off the record) the design of the machine does not produce enough water, but reported that machine works. Called Maytag again and they said they would need to send out a Master technician. So I set up another appointment (had to take more time off from work) with the Master technician. It was the same guy that came the week before! He didnt bother coming in to look at it! Called Maytag again and they said they would only be able to schedule a service call and if they come out and there is nothing wrong with machine, I would have to pay for the service call!!! I asked for a supervisor and explained why would I do that and he said they would send out another service technician from another service company and I wouldnt have to pay for it. He also offered me an extended warranty for a year for free. Thats great, but my machine is not fixed. This service technician said (off the record too) top loader machines are no good, do not buy, not enough water. He was there less than 5 minutes. Just got off phone with Maytag again and they can no longer do anything else, that the machine is working. I explained to the gentleman that yes the machine fills with a little bit of water and drains the water but it does NOT clean the items! Not going to let this happen to someone else. Plan on spreading the word to everyone to NOT BUY A MAYTAG TOP LOAD WASHING MACHINE. DOES NOT CLEAN YOUR CLOTHES. CONSTANT RESIDUE LEFT ON CLOTHES!

Never waste your money and buy Maytag washer. Mine is XL large tub and has extra wash for extra clean. Dont waste your money. Never fills up with enough water. Almost everytime I wash I have to rewash the load because the clothes are still dirty, have soap spots and most of the time the clothes didnt even get wet. Horrible Horrible washer!!! My water bill has gone up a lot because I have to rewash the load so thats twice... I cant even use the XL tub because it wont fill up with water. Horrible product. Cant believe Maytag is still in business. They dont stand behind product. Called. Complained. They gave me nothing except for some free pods to clean a washer thats only 6 months old. Ive tried every cycle to see which one will wash the best. Still Horrible Horrible. Doesnt get anything cleaned. Here I thought nothing could get worse than a front loader? Well the Maytag is worse Horrible product. Dont buy. Dont waste your money. Try another brand!!!

Purchased a Maytag dishwasher in 2009 then had it repaired for a leak in 2010 (just past the 12-month warranty); next another leak in Nov 2013 so purchased another Maytag as repair appliance company said it wasnt worth fixing. Now in Feb 2015 it is leaking Again! So 2 dishwashers and 1 repair in 5 years! Both were purchased from Home Depot. I will Never buy a Maytag product again.

Most every post about Maytag/Whirlpool dishwashers reads the same. Mine is no different. The control panel on my model MDB7749SBM1 has failed after about 16 months of use. Its a lose-lose situation for the consumer, as the cost of parts and labor for the repair equals or eclipses the replacement cost of a new unit.Another fine example of the degradation of an American brand, once known for quality and reliability. Dont be fooled by the branding. Buyer beware!

I purchased a Maytag Washer Model MVWB765FW in April 2017. Its transmission has failed, makes lot of noise. The cost to repair is about $500. for Parts and Labor, under the 10 year Limited Warranty, as advised by Factory Service. I am better off buying a new Washer for that cost. The days of Maytag reliability are gone. I would not recommend this product to anybody.

Thankfully, Home Depot replaced the washer when Maytag wouldnt authorize a replacement after I had it for 3 days. Maytag wanted me to order a part, wait for the part, and then schedule their third party service contractor. It’s been about 2 weeks without a washer. Ive been posting about my experience and received an email from Maytag asking me to post feedback on their site, but it was rejected. Their note to me was “Our publication guidelines do not permit content that references a service policy, customer service interaction, or customer service question.” In other words, theyre not at all interested in customer service. Maytag/Whirlpool is no longer the brand to look for.

I have a 2 year old Maytag Dishwasher (barely used - it is a weekend house) MDB7749sbm1 and the control panel went out about 2 months ago – I followed another person’s advise of hitting normal and heated dry buttons 3x quickly and that seems to wash the dishes – not sure what cycle it is on because all the lights go on including 2 hr delay. I called Maytag and they kept me on the phone and hold with multiple agents for 34 mins and finally agreed to send someone at no cost to see if the problem can be fixed with no cost to me. I will keep you updated.

We bought the Bravo XL set 11 months ago and the washer leaks all over the place.. Called Maytag and had the repairman show up. Upon arrival he told us these were the worst machines to buy and would never recommend to anyone. He also said that business has been great due to all of this.. He checked the washer and said the water pressure was too high and lowered it. He couldnt find anything wrong with it. After he left I started a load and sure enough it was the same. Called him right back and he said to call Maytag because he was going to another repair job. I called Maytag again and they said to call the repair guy.. Never again will we ever buy Maytag.

1 year 4 month old fridge went out. Waited a month for part/repair. No help from customer service. $1200 fridge, $700, lots of angry calls, no luck. Customer service is horrible. We purchased the Bravos XL washer just over a year ago. It is being replaced 1/10/2017. Simply put this is the worst product I think I have ever encountered. Extremely noisy wash cycles leave residue on the clothes, clothes do not get wet in some spots. This washer is so noisy you can hear it from outside. What an embarrassment. You have to run the clothes twice first with detergent and again without detergent to remove the residue left over from the first wash cycle (not energy efficient at all). If I could give a minus score like minus 10 I would.

I purchased a Maytag Bravo Washer in October of 2011, I had a repair man come to check it since the spin cycle sounds like a jet is revving its engines in the laundry room. He told me that the repair cost is $493.50 to replace the transmission. The machine also has problems with the circuit board. The lid lock goes on and off and on and off so you cannot run the machine. Speaking to Maytag they just kept saying your warranty is over and we dont offer any assistance on the repairs. The machine cost $530.00 in 2011 and they think its reasonable to have repairs more than the cost of a new washer. They said they had no complaints on the model. My repairman advised not to buy Bravo, Cabrio or Calypso models since they all have the same problem with the transmission and electronics. I think they should at least pay for the parts, the transmission is $300. And we didnt even price the electronic part of repair.

I bought the Washer and Dryer. All I can say about this washer is that it does not use water enough to be considered a commercial type of washer. Its balance is poor also for being so deep. I have to pour a bit of water on the clothes so the sensor thinks it’s a heavy load and do an extra rinse. And I saw that on a video regarding this washer trick. But I’m wasting more water cause I have to rearrange the clothes when done. I put the top ones on the bottom and start over. To me it’s a waste of effort sometimes I just go to the laundromat. They should consider their products if we all are complaining about this they should really do something. To me the washer is really useless.

We moved into a new house and the GE washer died after the first week, then the Whirlpool replacement died after two weeks. Decided to try the Maytag which the store gave us for $50 more than the Whirlpool. It runs like a champ. At least two loads of laundry a day every day and sometimes weekends. Clothes come out perfect, no damage and the machine is quiet.

I tried emailing Maytag but from what I read on consumer reports I doubt Ill get an email back. After our 20 plus year old Kenmore fridge was taken by hurricane Sandy I decided to try Maytag. What junk! We have a bottom freezer and were getting water build up on the bottom under the basket. In order to keep the water from leaking on floor I had to chop the ice out of the bottom every 2 days. My husband got frustrated and took the whole freezer apart only to find all the coils were covered in ice. Soon after that the ice maker stopped working. Tried different things to get it working. We finally took it apart and found the factory did not screw in all the screws on the inside so they fell out on the circuit board and shorted the thing out. Lucky it didnt burn the house down. All I can say is junk! Do not buy!

I am writing to tell you the dishwasher sold to my family malfunctioned as a result of an apparent design flaw. I also ended up wasting an entire day for a service person who never arrived. On October 14, 2009, my family bought a Maytag Dishwasher (model #MDBH979AWW) from Home Depot. It had run beautifully until last week, when the left-hand side of the control panel went dead. I then called the Maytag service number (800-688-9900) listed in the instruction manual and scheduled an appointment with the A&E Factory Service vendor for the following Friday (July 6th, 2012) between 8:00AM and 12:00PM. Around 12:30PM, no one had arrived, so I called again. I was told by the agent that the technician was en route and would arrive at my home in forty five minutes. At 2PM, still nobody arrived. I rang again when I was then informed that my name had been strangely kicked out of the system and made available for a reschedule. Wanting to stick with a Maytag-approved business, I went ahead and scheduled the next earliest appointment available, Monday, July 9, 2012. The technician from A&E Factory Service that actually did show up reported that the entire control panel had to be replaced at a cost of $281.48. Interestingly, he added that he had seen other Maytag dishwashers with this exact same problem and recommended that I wait until the water settled before adding extra dishes during a cycle since water apparently leaks into the electronics via a small gap on the top of the inside of the door. Of course, there is nothing in the instructions warning against such.I chose to fix the machine since I didnt have the money to purchase a new one. Are your dishwashers designed to last only a few years? I truly believe that I have been duped by Maytag since this problem resulted from a design flaw. I am asking you to please look into these matters and correct any wrongdoing that you see fit. Copies of receipts for the dishwasher purchase and service repair are enclosed.

My microwave is just 3 yrs old. SE error. Yeah, what a crock...Such junk. However, if we would just manufacture everything in the USA not only would we get better quality, but we would have more jobs. USA stop selling out to cheaper countries and pumping out more volume for less overhead.

Major issues with the Aqua Lift Range. Takes forever to preheat the oven, 15-20 minutes to reach 375 f- 400 f. Aqua clean cycle not efficient and does not clean at all. The stove top is impossible to select and keep the heat consistent. When adjusting the heat up or down when you slightly move the dial it overreacts. When moved the heat sways may more than selected. The fridge works well but the bottom drawer is way too flimsy and it wont last a long time as it will crack. This is our first purchase of Maytag appliances and it will be our last. The stove functions are excellent and the temperature of the burners and oven causes the food to cook even. However after about 6 months the heat from the burners causes the coating on the stovetop to burn like its baking and it cant be cleaned. Now the coating around the burners is horrible and burnt.

Very Poor Quality from Maytag Although (Dishwasher, model MDB8959AWS) - I knew Maytag always had a reputation of selling quality products I have never purchased a Maytag appliance because they usually cost more than other brands, so this is my 1st Maytag product. After ~25 months (after all warranties have expired), the unit stops working. The lights seem to have a mind of their own. I removed power from the unit for 1/2 hour attempting to re-boot the computer but the condition did not change. After researching the issue online, I found that Maytag has a two big problems: 1) Defective dishwashers, 2) Bad or no customer service.I am an engineer and this type of a problem (it happens from time to time) MUST be acknowledged and the customer made whole or the reputation of the company is destroyed and future sales will (and should) diminish to the point that the company may(?) go away for ever. I know products are not designed to last a lifetime like they were in the 60s & 70s but 3.3 years for a $650.00 appliance is way out of line. The dishwasher we replaced was ~18 years old, and we only replaced it because my wife wanted a more modern look.

Our washer stinks. We have done all the things suggested by Maytag, and it still stinks. Maytag suggested having it serviced by A&E, but I see on the Internet that they are probably not the best choice (very bad reviews). We called our local Maytag dealer, and they said that there is no fix available. They just stink. We will buy a new washer and will never buy anything Maytag again. I would suggest the same to everyone else.

We bought a Maytag Bravo model top washer recently and have no good things to say about it. The startup time is too long and clothes are coming out with lint all over them now. If the unit could be returned we would do it immediately but we cannot.

It’s a front loader, very quiet, and uses less water. The clothes come out clean and less wrinkled if you take advantage of the settings. l like the extra rinse and the drawer underneath. The capacity is able to accommodate enough clothes so I only need to do a load of darks and a load of whites each week.

Maytag, you left me disillusioned and disappointed. I used to believe you, trust you. How am I going to feed my kids without a fridge? I bought our side-by-side French door refrigerator a few years ago and even bought the extended warranty (which no longer is in effect, unfortunately). Yesterday, the refrigerator failed, We called a small local repair person who could be at my home in a couple of hours. He listened and said my compressor was out, a leak was probably in there too, and that it would cost about 900 dollars or more to repair. When I called Maytag to see what they thought, they said that because I called a non-Maytag assigned repair person (even though this small-business repair guy didnt even take apart the refrigerator), I could no longer get their repair plus one year warranty offer which runs 400 dollars. But there is nothing I see on their warranty page that says this. Here I was trying to help our local economy by calling a small mom-and-pop repair person who is known in our town and has a good reputation, but I guess that by doing that minor well-intentioned act, it goes against Maytag corporate policy. Wow, how foolish do I feel now? I feel ashamed to admit this, but I actually started crying when I was on the phone with their customer help rep and asked, Isnt there something that can be done? I was thinking to myself that two months after Christmas with three kids is a tough time to replace a 1300-dollar refrigerator. I offered to pay the 400 dollars to get the refrigerator fixed by a sanctioned Maytag official with their warranty, but that I didnt know that I wasnt supposed to call anyone else besides Maytag if my appliances broke down. I would have never called our small local guy if I had known that Maytag corporate had such a policy. She said that no, there was nothing that she could do, and that is what happens to customers who call a non-Maytag assigned repair person. I guess when this happens to your fridge, you ask your neighbors if they can keep some milk, lunch meat and cheese for you, at least until you can save up for another fridge. Thank goodness that dried pasta and Ragu sauce dont have to be refrigerated. There are also cans of peas and corn and dry cereal, so it should be okay.I cant express how absolutely disappointed I am with myself and with my purchase, and how this has soured me on everything Maytag. I feel like an idiot. Can you believe that I had actually scrimped and saved up for months to buy this Maytag refrigerator and the extended warranty (hah, just to be safe)? I had bought it because I thought Maytag was a reputable company and because it was supposed to help the environment with its energy saving technology. But dont you think that a $1300 refrigerator should last more than 7 years (Believe it or not, this newer Maytag fridge was replacing a 20-year-old fridge that I gave to my cousins and which is still running to this day!)? And to add insult to injury, I already had a major repair done 4 years ago on this same French door Maytag fridge when it was only 3 years old. Maytag should offer to come out and fix their mess, but all I received when I called Robin, the supervisor, at their Tennessee call center was a, Sorry, there is nothing that I can do and there is no one else that you can speak to, and Nope, there is no one at corporate that you can call for help either and I have no advice to offer you. I can give you a mailing address though, if you like. I think I did hear pity in her voice, so that was some comfort. Pity from a call center supervisor, think about that! How awful it must be for her if that is all that she can offer to the desperate people who look to her for guidance! I actually felt sorry for her after I hung up the phone. It must be terrible to know that the company that you work for is probably mistreating its customers and all that you can offer is an Im sorry. I wonder how often someone says a rosary for her and her workers taking on those endless calls for help. How often does she cry herself to sleep after a day of that?I really dont like complaining online and I rarely do it, but this experience was just so awful and hopeless that I feel I had to say something to save other people pain and money. I hope that everyone learns from my miserable Maytag mistakes and please pass on my experiences to all of your friends and family. Those big tax refund checks will be coming soon, and I know that a lot of people upgrade their appliances with that money. Please, please think twice before you buy anything Maytag. I would feel better if I knew that people could learn from my stupidity. Remarkably, I was once gullible enough to trust and believe in American-made Maytag - goodness, was I wrong to do that. I bought my Maytag washer and dryer in Monroe County in Georgia, USA in 1980. Its a 1979 product and it STILL works perfectly fine after 40 years! Im 64 years old now and Im hoping Ill never have to buy a new set although I would love one because theyre so pretty these days.

Control Panel MDB8949SBB - I purchased my dishwasher in August of 2013. The control panel has stopped working and Maytag refuses to discuss the issue with us. Regardless of how many complaints they receive they are in denial about their product. They now offer a Repair +1 program which costs $260 for a repair and an additional 1 year warranty. If I do that I will get 1 year out of it before I run into the same problems. Any ideas?

Bought Maytag Dishwasher in 2/2012. 10/2015 dishwasher stopped working. My husband tried to replace the motherboard, however, dishwasher completely done. Called Maytag and they said they would send a repair company at their expense, however, repair service called to verify appointment and told us how much it would cost us! Maytag had no intention of paying the bill even after they said they would. Called Maytag back and said the other customer service person was incorrect. Now, buying another dishwasher only after 3.5 years.

Both work good. Washer could be a little lower and it has quit rinsing and I cannot use it. But it is 9 years old, I think for their age they were a good buy. I plan to get the washer repaired because have been satisfied with how clean it gets my clothes and it washes pretty quick. I got the large capacity and with a very large load the washer gets them clean. The dryer is very good. It is just as good on a large load as small, dries quick. I would buy this type washer and dryer again and would definitely recommend it to folks. I have been very happy with this washer and dryer. The paint is coming off the washer where you put detergent and fabric softener in and it has rusted out some but it is getting a little age on it so this is expected. I like it, I can throw my comforter in and it gets it clean and the large loads always come out great. I think anyone who bought the set would be very happy with it. It is also quiet which I like.

Five years ago made a major investment on new techno with this washer/dryer. This is an updated review. Since the beginning the washer causes awful water hammer. Tried using arrestors, they dont work. Clothes are stretched out. You need to bundle each piece of laundry! The wash takes forever. Top loader has lid lock, very inconvenient - Dryer is OK but needs extra drying time. Would not buy this washer...

We purchased a Maytag front load washer in May 2006 (MAH6700AWW). In November 2012 we had a leak and called a repair service. We were told it was the dispensing hose which had a hole worn in it and was replaced. In February 2014, we called the same service and was told that we had the same problem. Now in November 2014 we are experiencing the same problem. We have notified Whirlpool of this problem and each time were told that the machine was too old to reimburse us in any way. Guess who wont be buying any Whirlpool products if they do not back up their faulty workmanship.

While washing clothes in my Maytag front load washer, I noticed that there was water leaking from the front left corner from the bottom. I have owned the washer for only 2 years, and Maytag manufacturer (Whirlpool) told me that it was going to initially cost $80.00 for a service call and then more money to fix the leak. WOW. Also the wood floors that are underneath the washer and dryer, is starting to warp from the leaking washer. I would recommend DO NOT BUY A MAYTAG APPLIANCE. The warranty is basically worthless along with the washer.

Theres always a problem with this thing. It doesnt clean the clothes, its always off balance, and now it leaks from the bottom side of the machine in the clean washer cycle. Its only 2 1/2 years old. Should of listened to the guy who fixed my old machine. Dont get a Maytag!

I purchased a Maytag Centennial washer and dryer on February 4th. It was delivered on the 11th. I am dissatisfied with the performance of the washer. I use the same amount of detergent and fabric softener as I did for my 15-year old Maytag washer, but the wash is not as soft as with the old machine. Also, the wash when finished appears to be a lot wetter. What is wrong? What else can I do?

Dishwasher MDB7749SBM - Have the same problem as everyone else, panel board (2nd one, 1st was under warranty). This panel W10475787 is 2 years old. Keeps lighting up doing what it wants to do. Dishwasher is 3 years old. Cant find out if there is a recall on this part (there should be).

First off, everyone seeing this should be fuming as I am because we are mostly in the same boat with these control panel issues. Mine is Maytag model MDB7749SBM3 about 575.00. A little bit cheaper than most of you because I purchased at the online and had a rebate. About a couple months after the warranty expired, we started having weird light issues with the control panel where are one light would pop up when you didnt hit it or other lights would pop up when you hit something else. We kept dealing with it thinking that it would dry out and resolve itself. Lo and behold, just like it appears to be tens of thousands perhaps hundreds of thousands of machines, it quit. I read this consumer affairs post after it quit and now I know why it did. I opened up the control panel and sure enough, the little ribbon that connects all the electrical connections had brown on the back like it was burnt through. I was able to find a special 1 800 number that Whirlpool has set up because they have purchased Maytag and the woman I spoke with said they would send a technician out and that I was responsible for the diagnostic fee. I was born but it wasnt yesterday. I immediately said to the woman, Absolutely unacceptable. I am NOT paying for anything, very politely highlighting the fact that I know they settled a class action lawsuit in California regarding a control panel issue and there are hundreds maybe thousands of complaints on consumer affairs.com. The woman place me on hold, I am assuming to speak with her supervisor and then let me know that they would pay for the diagnostic fee. She said a repair date for me for about a week and a half later. The repairman had a good day because the dishwasher was already disassembled for him and he proceeded to take pictures and call Maytag. Maytag told him that I was responsible for the installation cost and service fee which according to the technician is about a hundred bucks. I told the technician that is fine but it will not be fine when I call Maytag back. I have not spoken to Maytag about the hundred dollars needs to file a claim for a new dishwasher and associated damages. I have not spoken to Maytag about the hundred dollars but I am only on this to let you know that every single one of us needs to file a claim for a new dishwasher in associated damages in small claims court. I plan on filing a claim for approximately $700 for a new dishwasher and damages. In my opinion, I feel like we should all do this, otherwise big corporations like this will continue to shovel garbage into the stores left and right.Have a good day and good luck with your court case hopefully. Purchased a new set of Maytag Bravos appliances in 2010. Washer lasted 3 years -- had a failed bearing and repairman said not worth fixing as tub would most likely also need to be replaced. Replaced with a new Speed Queen which has been operating trouble-free. Today dryer quit heating -- repair person stated it needs a new board -- not worth it to me. I am off to now purchase a new Speed Queen dryer. What happened to Maytag quality???

After a year, the plastic parts of Maytag dishwasher is breaking and upstairs propeller is no longer running. Do not buy this product. I made that mistake.

My Maytag washer and dryer (5000 Series) is about 2 years old. Just as soon as the warranty ran out, I started getting F35 and suds error messages. Information found on the internet tells me that many Maytag customers have experienced the same problem. Whats up with this Maytag? Since many of your customers have experienced the same problems, are you willing to meet the consumer in the middle by repairing the product at no cost or are you building the appliances to last as long as the warranty?

I purchased this at Home Depot October 2013. The oven heats well. I like the upper and lower oven feature. The broiler works fine. I rarely cook using convection. The self-cleaning feature, to this date works fine. Dislikes - the stainless is cheesy and scratches easily. The knobs on the front are of poor quality and the cook top stains easily and does not come clean. Disturbing - the gas cook top has come on twice with simple bumps and gone unnoticed for a period of time. Usually, you hear the clicking with the gas turning on, but not always. MOST DISTURBING - last night, 1:30 in the morning, I wake up to the heavy smell of gas. Neither my husband, nor I cooked that day, at all. I walked out to the kitchen (opening windows along the way) and the right front burner knob was turned just enough to expel gas, no clicking noise, no flame. This being the third incident (that I can recall), I think this appliance should be recalled. The knobs are not secure/safe enough to be on a gas appliance. Aside from the hazard described above, I too am dismayed at the fact that drips go between the glass and there is no way to clean it. Another poor design flaw.

Ive always loved Maytag but this centennial makes grinding noise and doesnt wash clothes well. Even on largest setting the drum never fills all the way up with water. It adds water 8 times during wash cycle only to immediately go to drain after last add. Ive only had for approx 4 years and the 10yr warranty only covers motor and basket so be sure to understand your warranties.

We bought a brand new Maytag refrigerator online model # MSD2660KES and it arrived dead. The first Maytag tech that was sent said he does not recommend us fixing the problem because refrigerant leaking will happen every few years. We were not able to return the refrigerator, so we opted to let Maytag fix it. Here we are 2 years later and sure enough, the refrigerator has stopped cooling. We are out of warranty period, so the service call cost us $65.00. The tech told us this time its the compressor and replacement would cost $650.00 to fix. We are not wasting any more money on this piece of junk.

I bought a Maytag dishwasher on June 2008. This new Maytag dishwasher replaced an older Maytag dishwasher that caught fire and was recalled (I found this out after calling Maytag). The new dishwasher (Model: MDB 5601 AWB) also had a recalled part (heater coil) in February 2011. Two months ago, (the unit is now 3 years old), the control board started malfunctioning (certain cycles no longer work). I called Maytag today (Aug 24, 2011) but I was told by a Maytag representative that there was nothing that they could do. After reading so many complaints, I am ready to file a class action suit. It seems that this company continues to perpetrate fraud against an unsuspecting consumer for they knowingly continue to manufacture defective products.

I just saw that there had been a class action lawsuit settled in 2005 for the Maytag Neptune front load washer and I was never notified as an owner! I have this crummy product and have been living with it for more than 10 years! I just scheduled a repairman to replace the moldy gasket (for the second time) and the noisy pump, and a latch that has to be slammed for a sum of $438. What a crock. I was told this was a top of the line model when I purchased it for $999. Ive never had such a piece of junk before in my life. I run loads of bleach weekly to control the mildew.

Maytag 2000 front loading washer - This unit was purchased in Feb 2013 along with the matching dryer. From the onset it has presented with the problem of trapping small objects such as socks, underwear and other small loose objects in the rubber seal at the front of the door leaving them soaking wet and needed to be wrung out by hand. There is not any way to run a second spin only to wring out the clothes without doing an entire wash or rinse again rendering the efficiency void. I have been able to buy a mesh bag to put smaller items in for washing with the regular laundry load. However, this is not why I purchased the washer and I would strongly recommend to others not to buy this product. Very disappointed. I thought the Maytag brand was reliable. Never again will I buy any of their products.

All I can say is, Wow. My Maytag washer and dryer have never needed anything in 21 years of service. Purchased in 1997 at Lowes in Chambersburg, PA. Both work and look like new! Both are top of the line units. Would buy again!

I bought the dryer (Maytag Gas Bravo Dryer) from Home depot in December of 2010. The thermostat went out in July of 2011 and has replaced the same part 5 times up until August of 2011. Then they put a new burner with a thermostat and it lasted till June 1 of 2012. Now the warranty is out, they want me to repair this piece of **. I will never buy a Maytag product again.

Purchased new about 3 years ago, doesnt clean, ties clothes in knots, leaves white spots from softener that doesnt get wet sometimes after cycle, some areas are still dry after untying. Now error code 51 keeps appearing, service man 4 times replaced rps sensor as directed, nothing changes. Need a chain to drag behind truck, no technical support from Maytag or whirlpool. Old ones of 20 years still worked good, gave to niece. Lucky her.

Thank all of you for saving me. I was about to buy a Maytag with bottom freezer from Home Depot. No wonder they are marked down an additional 20% off their sale price.

I reviewed lots of reviews, and decided that the negative reviews ones were sour grapes or uninformed customers! WRONG! Do not buy this washer. I replaced a 16 year old Frontloader Bosch! Should have had the Bosch repaired, but wanted a topload for a change, new look etc. From day 2 the washer began to squeal during the early cycle and at the end as well. Maytag repair was out for an unrelated repair on another appliance. I told the tech about it and he suggested its brand new etc, give it time to settle in.Now 4 months in and another service call to tell me its nothing!! It squeals so loud I can not run it while in the next room. I have videoed it and sent it to the Maytag repair in Glenwood Springs, and he said I should load it only full enough to see the impeller at all times!!!! Forget a full load of work clothes or a pillow or blanket. Which is to be expected to be able to wash. He said I needed to spread the clothes out manually along the outer sides of the TUB only, prior to washing the clothes! not over the impeller. I am not kidding! This is a open tub, so the impeller is the little thing in the middle on the bottom. I advised him, I videoed the event and even with three socks in it for a test it still squeals like a (well you get the idea). Trying to get Maytag help, but nowhere. Matching dryer door hinge broke first week, it has been repaired. Not good quality at all for the top of line Maytag. Then Maytag Man must be busier these days, than of old.

Bought a stove in May of 2014. In July of 2014 we noticed a 1x6 stain inside the glass of the oven door. I called Maytag and they stated only 30 day warranty on cosmetic flaws. I said this was not there when we bought it. They asked if anything had boiled over because if liquids get in the vents on the oven door it can get in between the glass. I stated no, only cleaned with Stainless steel clear. They stated most likely when I sprayed the door it ran down in between the glass. I said that is a flaw. They said, no the vents are there to allow heat out. I asked if they also were designed to let liquids inside the glass, they said no, I said design flaw. They will do nothing. I also pointed out that nowhere in the owners manual is there a reference to this possibly happening. Our sons in laws have a 3 year old LG stainless steel with vents and have never had this problem. Maytag will not stand behind their products even when they are the ones at fault. Buy a different brand.

Maytag washer mvwc565fw: You have heard about how noisy they are & dont fill up enough water unless you set it on deep water wash. I cant get the right water temp. Its cold, cold warm. No hot at all. Sorry I ever bought the piece of junk. Only have had it a month too. The last washer I had it at least lasted 4 years. Wouldnt recommend it to my worst enemy.

This washer came with the home we recently purchased. I used the machine and OMG the spin cycle is NOT quiet.. I posted a video of it on FB. A friend of mine who owns and operates an appliance center watched it.. messaged me back and said Do not call repair man as it is cheaper to buy a new machine... I knew this machine sounded like a piece of **.. I know I wont replace with the same machine.

Same problems as everyone else. Water not soaking the clothes, questionable load capacity, shaky (we have engineers in the house so there is no way they did not look for floor evenness as the stores/Maytag will tell you that you may not have done, complete bs) etc. Its absolutely horrible that were all now stuck with such a terrible machine. I really wish I had read these reviews before (I googled the machine earlier but got generic stuff and didnt stumble upon these reviews until much later). Maytag should take responsibility on this as retail stores do not take back appliances unless they are defective. The Bravos is definitely a defective product from the get-go though.

I purchased a new Maytag top freezer refrigerator. From the time it was delivered the freezer temp never went below 10 degrees. It ran between 10 and 20 degrees. Ice cream was soupy, bread did not freeze. I called Good Deals Appliance in Fort Myers, FL where I bought the refrigerator 3 days after delivery to report the freezer problem. They sent a service tech out who looked at it and said the model I bought has no freezer control so it could not be fixed. The store I bought it from said Whirlpool, who owns Maytag, said 10 degrees is acceptable for the model I bought so there was nothing the store or Whirlpool would do to replace it. I called Whirlpool numerous times, was on hold for over half an hour each time and was told 10 degree freezer temp is acceptable. After considerable arguing, they agreed to send a second repair person who came out and said the freezer temperature problem could not be fixed. After numerous additional calls, a complaint to the BBB and a stop payment on my Visa, Whirlpool sent a third service person who said it could not be repaired. I began the round of phone calls to Whirlpool again as well as to the Good Deals salesman who has been as useless as possible, continually saying it is our problem to deal with Whirlpool. The BBB contacted me and then Good Deals who said Whirlpool has agreed to replace the refrigerator but I have to contact Whirlpool. I have called Whirlpool, waited forever on hold, and left three messages and no one has returned my call. Whirlpool should not call what they do customer service. They are rude and argumentative and make it very difficult for customers to contact them and even more difficult to get a defective appliance replaced. DONT EVEN CONSIDER BUYING WHIRLPOOL OR MAYTAG APPLIANCES?

I have always used Maytag products at home and work. I have never had a problem like this one. The front load washers have a manufacture default with the boot that allows mold to grow even when it is wiped out as instructed. I have contacted other people and they have the same problem. I will not or ever buy a front load Maytag again and could never recommend this product to anyone. I feel that the Maytag company should replace the boot with a different design; at no cost to the consumer! This machine was only a year old. I have no problem with the company I bought it from. They replaced the boot with a bill of $358.65.

Love my washer. Very durable. No issues with it in the last 4 years and I probably use it at least 5 days a week. Has lots of options to wash different types of items and mine is big enough to wash a full size comforter.

Maytag MCT Washer & Dryer - I bought the largest capacity to save time. However even my 6ft tall husband has problems reaching the bottom to remove clothes. Even worse is the lack of water to clean clothes, washes so long it wears clothes and they are still dirty. I tried to improve on my old Neptune and Id love to have it back. I may have to junk this washer. The dryer is very slow. Buying this set was tossing my hard earned money in the trash.

Purchased a Maytag Bravos washing machine. DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE. Disaster as the cycling is hit and miss. The clothes can take 4 hours or more to wash a load. And even then the clothes may still be soaking wet. Grandmas old wringer washer was better. DO NOT BUY MAYTAG. DO NOT BUY MAYTAG BRAVOS.

Purchased 2/13. Used maybe 3 times per week. Panel has gone haywire 6/14. 3 months out of warranty. Confirmed, bad control panel. We need class action lawsuit. This is ridiculous! We purchased our Maytag Refrigerator Model # MBF2258DEHM on 12/21/2015. Just a couple of issues I would like to bring to your attention before you purchase your Maytag. The single refrigerator door does not close automatically. You have to close the door. The metal handle is metal and has a metal smell and feel to it. The stainless steel door and the handles are not the same finish. Although this might not be a problem for some who like the industrial look I prefer my hands to be free of chemicals while I am preparing food. The ice maker takes up too much room. The ice maker should have been an option, not a standard item. I had a Kitchen Aid for 10 years and loved it. I thought I was going to have my Kitchen Aid for 15 years or more. I would have purchased another Kitchen Aid, but the reviews were not good.

This is a top load washer, commercial series, high efficiency without any agitator. It doesnt use enough water to break down the soap, no matter what soap or amount is used. Clothes come out of the machine with soap patches. It is also virtually impossible to balance the load so when it spins, it bangs and thumps and walks across the room until it shuts itself down. Stirring and re-distributing the load, changing the size of the load, small or large (should you actually fill the tub to a full load per instructions) it simply doesnt distribute or balance itself at all. At the end of the day, clothes need more water for extra rinse and then doesnt seem to work with soap removal all of the time. You cant put a load in and walk away and do something else or it will bang around and turn off. A waste of money and time. Save yourself, buy something else.

This is a portable dishwasher. It does a great job washing the dishes. It’s fairly quiet and gets them very clean. It moves quite easily. The silverware tray is generous. The cycle takes a bit of time, but I don’t think it is excessive compared to other brands.

I purchased a Maytag Bravo washing machine item # 26 23872 for $617.69 on 11-23-11 and it was delivered and set up on 12-02-11. My problem is if you have dirty sweaty clothes, you cannot get them clean with such little water. I used the HE detergent as directed. I talked to a woman at the local Sears Appliance store this morning, 7-11-12, about it. She said I need to use Affresh. So I did clean my washer but with a similar brand and my clothes are still stinky. I have even washed an empty load or two with bleach and hot water. I make sure I wash with hot water and completely dry my clothes.When you take a bath and dry yourself off with a towel, it smells like a musty basement. I am allergic to mold. I cant even take a wash cloth, get it wet and wash my face without wanting to throw up from the smell. I have had guest comment on the towels as well. Its embarrassing. The problem is you cannot clean something with an inch of water in the machine. I am 58 years old and now have to do the wash. I went to the store and asked if we could return it for an exchange or anything like a discount on a new one and she would not budge. She said it had to be within 90 days but 90 days was in the middle of winter and I was not having dirty sweaty clothes from doing outdoor yard work.Now that summer is here, 7 months later, my clothes have been smelly for a few months. I cant take it anymore. I showed the woman that I had been to Lowes and had an estimate of 10% off with free delivery, set up and haul away. She said she could do 15% but when you add on the delivery fee, it was higher than Lowes. I purchased my whole upgraded kitchen stainless steel appliances for about $7,000 and this set of washer/dryer but Sears could not help me out? What a disappointment that a loyal customer such as me could not at least get free delivery on a new washer. I went right back to Lowes and ordered the same machine I wanted Sears to sell me matching Lowes price.So now, I am stuck with a 7- to 8-month-old machine still in the one year warranty that is like new but is a worthless piece of junk as my clothes all stink. Run, dont walk if someone tries to sell you a low water HE machine. I tried sending this letter to searsinfo.com corporate office and it is rejected even though the website gives you that address.

I purchased a Maytag 2000 series washing machines. It broke and needed to be repaired within six months of purchase. It continued to break and need to be repaired numerous times and its only a little over 1 1/2 years old. It ripped and ruined clothing on numerous occasions. It would not drain and the door would lock with clothing inside thus ruining them. Both of these issues occurred on more than one occasion. Maytags solution for their defective washer was to keep referring me to my warranty. They were no help at all. My warranty finally came through for me and I was issued a full refund through the warranty I purchased at the time I purchased the washer. My new washer (which is not a Maytag) is being delivered Friday. So finally after being without a washer for over two weeks I will be able to wash clothes again. My experience with Maytag was frustrating and aggravating to say the least and I will definitely never purchase Maytag again. They are far from reliable.

Bought a Maytag Washer & Dryer and after only 4 years the front panel went...cost to replace part only $653.55. After expressing concern about the price Maytag cut the cost of the part in half - now installed $475.00. Disposable dryer. Choked on it and decided to go ahead with the repair. Part was to be in in a week and it is now been a month. Maytag/Parts supplier no idea where the part is and doesnt return phone calls. Have to use the laundromat (family of 5). More money out of pocket. Not to mention time. Called Maytag again to complain about the service and having to pay more money out of pocket to use the laundromat. They basically told me, Too bad. Have used Maytag appliances over the years and always been satisfied but the company is clearly going downhill.

This Bravos washer and dryer saves energy for sure, but sadly, that is it. It does not wash my clothes and rinse them adequately. They are so twisted and wrinkled I have ironed just about all my clothes. Even my synthetics are severely wrinkled. The dryer sensors do not work. They never dry the clothes adequately. The concept was good in that they are compact and have a large capacity, but the design does not work. I was lured in and unfortunately, there were no reviews at the time but I see that everyone shares my sentiments. The washer and dryer are just not any good. Thank you.

Purchased 4 Maytag kitchen appliances - stove, double oven, fridge, dishwasher - was told that they were all made in the USA. WRONG. The microwave comes from China - not sure why Maytag is not being honest. Not happy with my purchases - even though we spent $4000 to buy American. Warranty service is awful - even extended warranty is a joke. Would never purchase Maytag again.

I purchased a french door Maytag refrigerator in Dec. 2009. We have never had decent ice. Icemaker is in the door and the seal does not keep the ice cavity cold enough. After many, many service calls and a replacement refrigerator, I was told to dump the ice twice a week and get ice out of the dispenser all day long. Really? All day long? It is model #bmft2771web1. They will not take care of this problem. It is a defect but they will not take responsibility for it. I now have a problem with my Maytag double oven! The temp on the bottom oven is 25 to 50 degrees off. I am waiting for my dishwasher and microwave to be next. I will never buy another Maytag. Buyer beware. I have to buy my ice from 7-Eleven. Thats why I bought a $ 2,100 refrigerator, so I can get my ice elsewhere!

My husband and I bought this refrigerator on 11/24/17 at Lowes for $2969.00 (excluding tax and white glove delivery). Never thought that not even after less than 2 years we would be having so many issues with this unit. The fridge part stopped cooling a couple of months ago and we were told by a technician that it was due to some coolant issue which of course our home warranty (Choice Home Warranty) wouldnt cover the repair. Well my husband fought them and we were able to have a second technician come and told us it was a sensor issue which he replaced. In the meantime I called Maytag to complain and they wouldnt even send someone to take a look. Anyway, the fridge worked after they replaced the sensor but unfortunately last week we started having the same issue. You would think for such a price you would get a decent unit, but big mistake there...now we have to find a way to replace it and we have little kids in the house. I also find out that Lowes doesnt even carry that brand anymore, perhaps because its defective. Maytag doesnt want to help us and Lowes cant do anything about it. So please STAY AWAY!!!! Should we be compensated, yes I believe so and so does anyone going through the same issue. Money doesnt grow on trees, stop deceiving your consumers Maytag!

We bought this washer before Christmas. I was very excited. However my clothes don’t come out clean. I am actually washing my white uniform with hands because each time I wash, dark scums remain on my clothes. I think that the machine sensor does not sense how much clothes are in there and how much water is required. This machine is very disappointing, it needs to be recalled. See pictures below.

I purchased the Maytag MDB7749SBM dishwasher just over 2 years ago. After owning for 1.5 years, the control board malfunctioned. After discussions with Maytag customer service that began in late December 2014, it was finally repaired in February 2015, with the control board being completely replaced. Within just a few months the dishwasher again fails. The first time, it would not stop running. This time, it will not run at all. I called customer service today (August 1, 2015) and they expect me to pay for the repair.It is easy to Google and find multiple review sites that indicate hundreds of consumers have similar problems, but Maytag will not acknowledge any issue, as the customer service rep indicated today (she said her information showed no recalls). Within two years I am now faced with paying $600+ for a dishwasher for a second time. This is terrible customer service on Maytags part. They have lost my business and I am warning consumers on every platform I have.

I purchased a Maytag dishwasher model MDB7749AWB2 in Dec. 2011 from Home Depot after a major flood destroyed my entire first floor of my house. I had replaced a previous dishwasher only a short time before the flood. This dishwasher is JUNK. I was lucky I bought a five year extended warranty on it which actually gave me 6 years. I needed it. Within a year the control panel went. Then water started spraying out the side of door. Then it sounded like it was crushing ice every time I ran it. Then the control panel went out again. Ice noise came back again. Control panel a 3rd time. It runs for hours as it is.Now the warranty is expired and last time I ran it the start light was blinking a few hours later. We were having high winds on and off so I thought maybe the power went on and off and that’s why it was blinking. Today I turned it on and after about 45 minutes I realized I didn’t hear it running anymore so I got up and looked and sure enough it wasn’t on. Normally the clean light is lit when done. I opened the dishwasher to see it filled with water still. I tried to hit cancel/drain but nothing works yet again. Wonderful news for a single mom that can’t afford to fix this over and over! Maytag is the worse company. Their dishwashers are horrible and they should be doing something about this as I’m not the only one that has had this issue. Home Depot was just as useless. Will NEVER buy again.

Washer goes off-balance even when clothes are evenly distributed in tub. When it is turned off to rearrange clothes (which may have to be performed a couple of times), washer goes back to starting cycle which means more water. Afraid to do laundry unattended.

We purchased a Bravo Maytag series top load washer from Sears in June 22nd 2013. See receipt for verification of sale. It seemed to be alright and we were hoping to be a lucky consumer, but now it is January 2015 and today I could smell smoke along with a weird smell (like an auto repair shop smell). I immediately was concerned about the entire house catching fire. Luckily I figured out the smell was coming from the washer and was able to pause it, stop, and then turn off. We are not happy. Our whole main level smells awful. And Im pregnant so this is probably not good to be inhaling. We are looking for recalls that may be out but weve only seen front load recalls not top loaders. When we bought this it had great reviews, but now it appears there are so many complaints, so my question is: Why isnt Maytag doing something about this massive problem?

We purchased a Maytag refrigerator model # MSF25D2EAS on 10-22-2012 at the Home Depot in Tracy, CA. On 2-2-2014 (15 months) we noticed a puddle on the kitchen floor. Upon inspection, we noticed that the refrigerator was not working. Went over to Home Depot and were given the name and number of the authorized Maytag repair dealer (A and E). The technician arrived on 2-5-2014 and replaced the compressor on-off /overload relay and charged $243.82. On 2-16-2014 (11 days later), the same thing happened again. The technician came on 2-19-2014. This time, it was the compressor at a cost of $800.00 plus the $75.00 service call. One can purchase the compressor online for $300.00 and I am sure that A and E buys it for a lot less. We thought about it and decided not to get it fixed because we did not know what else would go wrong and how long would the second compressor last. We talked to the Appliance Departments assistant manager and were told that Home Depot does not give any kind of consideration and she had worked there for 11 years and had not heard of any problems. She was not telling the truth or she was not aware of the numerous negative customer reviews online. She also informed me that I should have bought a warranty. We have bought quite a few refrigerators in 50 years and they lasted for many years. Home Depot sells inferior products. Maytag must sell these inferior products at discounted prices and of course, some stores are looking for larger profits. I do not trust Home Depot any longer and will not purchase appliances there anymore. It was a very expensive lesson - the price of the refrigerator, loss of food (twice) and the stress it caused. We bought a new refrigerator at Sears and it was not a MAYTAG.

This has the aqua cleaning technology, sounds real good. DOES NOT WORK! The cleaning is done by you as you nearly climb into the oven with a plastic scraper which they supply to scrape prior to the cleaning cycle. Then after you have used the distilled water in the bottom of the oven during the cleaning cycle (steam), you climb back in to wipe out the water and use something similar to a magic eraser to SCRUB the oven.Here is the real kicker....during the cleaning process, in between the glass (in the door) you develop water spots that cannot be cleaned unless you pay to have a service technician come out and tear it a part to clean it. According to Maytag THIS IS NORMAL and is proven (by their engineers without any documentation for the customers to be able to see) to be normal?? The consequence is a brand new stove will never be clean and it is the first thing you see when you come into my house. I AM EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED!!!!

Bought the Model MZD2766GEW and the MSD2454GRW side by side models of the Maytag side by side and the wide side by side from Home Depot in the year 2002 replacement appliances after a fire. For both units I paid $2526.92 dollars plus tax to put one in my kitchen and one in my basement. I was told by a plumber Maytag was the best, buy Maytag. It seems like from day one things went wrong. The ice maker kept building ice in the bottom of both freezers. The ice maker never worked right and would build up so much ice in the dispensing area, you would open the door and ice would fall all over the floor and you would have to take a knife to the shoot of the ice maker to unclog it. The drawers would freeze, the vegetables and anything in them, you had to keep the refrigerator temp to Zero and things would still freeze. Water eventually would leak all over the floor and I couldnt figure out where it was coming from. The freezers on the left but then water seem to be running to the right and out the refrigerator part. I couldnt afford to call anybody and the warranty was running out. I had 2 year parts and one year labor but at the time couldnt afford the service call charge. Eventually I was sent a recall notice for a compressor or such. I thought, Hurray, It will be fixed. Not at all. He replaced both those parts on both refrigerators and after he left it started leaking again. I called Maytag and they said, did he replace the part that was recalled? I said yes and they said They were not obligated to pay for anything past the recall. I should call and have the units serviced by a technician at my cost. If he says its the recall piece again, to call them back. Again I had no money to call a technician right away but when I did, he came to the house, told me it wasnt the recall and claimed to fix some kind of defrost sensor which cost $180.00 for the parts plus labor, plus service call and this had been a different technician than the first. He left and the problem continued to leak, freeze etc. In fact it seemed worse. I gave up calling and decided to deal with it hoping one day to replace but money problems happen and it is now 2014 I never could afford new refrigerators and have had to put up with the leak for all these years and continue to pick up and replace soaked towels everyday. In 2005 I disabled the ice maker which helped when I opened the door since ice doesnt fall out but both Refrigerators continue to make thick sheets of ice on the bottom and food is frozen into it so I cant use the bottom and when the buildup gets so bad it takes 2 days to defrost by shutting the entire unit off. All I can do is put my food in one freezer and refrigerator while the other defrosts. I also have turned the downstairs one off completely. Now as a second refrigerator I just dont trust keeping it on leaking also. I bought these units after a whole house fire and the last thing I want is another fire because Maytag just doesnt care but I cant afford new Refrigerators because these repairman and Maytag cant figure out whats wrong and fix the problem with this dangerous feature and I call it that because it seems to come with most of their units from when I bought the unit till now.12 years later people are still having the same problem with the same and copy cat units. Maytag, a plea goes out to you to recall and repair these units. The original recall did not work and like me a lot of people need to be redeemed for what you left go on and a lot of repairmen are ripping off people calling this problem what its not and stealing our money when you know what the problem is and can fix it. My plea is recall this problem or be responsible before God or who you believe in for letting it go on so long and the damage it may cost people. Maytag, people use to love you but youve ripped our hearts out and it will cost you in the long run.

We bought a new Maytag Bravo XL washer in 2015 under the understanding it has a 10 year warranty. Well it’s 2020 and it starting leaking. Called customer service and lost 3hours of my life waiting for a person. Keep in mind I’m pretty handy and work on spa, and pools. And can troubleshoot things like this. I found the problem on our washer looked up the part and number.When I finally got a person on the phone they wanted to send a technician out to verify what is wrong with it. I was all for that but then they said it would cost $100. I said no because I already know what’s wrong and just need the part so I could fix it. I knew the labor would not be covered under warranty so that’s why I didn’t really need the tech to come. After a few minutes Maytag finally says the unit is. It covered under warranty at all. I asked yes it is because it’s literally written all over the washer it has a 10year warranty. So then Maytag goes to say they only cover the drum and motor for 10 years.So now I’m stuck with a washer that leaks that was sold to us under the pretense of a 10year warranty for parts. And now having to buy $280 worth of parts and shipping to fix it. Maytag advertises that they have the best warranty and they never break as their commercials imply. So they represent themselves And their warranty falsely. Buyer beware. Maytag is shady. I’m guessing Whirlpool is part of them so please do your research before you buy. 1. Customer service doesn’t exist with them. (3hrs hold times.) 2. Misleading warranty coverage. 3. Will not call you back.4. Try to extort more money from you. ($100 to send a tech out to confirm what you already know.)DO NOT BUY!!! Learn from our mistake.

I bought as a pair the Maytag Heavy Duty Washer and Gas Dryer 30+ years ago The pair are like a Timex watch --takes a licking and keeps on ticking. They have never failed me and I have never had to call the Maytag repairman.

I purchased a Maytag refrigerator back in 2005; right around the time Whirlpool was making a play for Maytag. What a mistake! I had previously owned a GE that lasted 19 years! I even selected a model that did not have any ice in door or water in door that are prone to problems. In the 8 years I owned it, I had a serviceman to my place at least 4 times and dumped around $600 into it! Today the final straw... the compressor went! I will NEVER buy a Maytag again!

My complaint sounds just like the others listed here. Purchased Maytag dishwasher MDBH979SAB1 at Home Depot 2/2013. In June 2014, the control panel started to malfunction. When I called Maytag, these were the options given: 1--have it serviced out of warranty at $89-$150 for repairmans trip & diagnostic, which doesnt include parts & labor or 2--obtain something called Repair plus one, which covers the cost of repair and reinstates the warranty for one year at the low cost of $264.95. So either way, Im going to have to pay almost 1/2 of the original purchase price. Ridiculous! We had our previous dishwasher (not a Maytag) for over 13 years, with only minor repairs. We purchased a Maytag because we thought it was a reputable company that stands behind their products---well dont believe it! I would NEVER recommend any of their products.

I purchased a Maytag Dishwasher in April of 2011 - Ive had four control panels in that time and the panel gone again - in fact, one panel came out of the box nonfunctional (I counted that one as it was installed although the tech removed it when it quickly became apparently that it wasnt working). Ive got a complaint in to Maytag but I have low expectations as to a satisfactory conclusion. What Id like is for Maytag to buy this lemon back from me for around $400 - I paid nearly $600 (including installation). Again, I doubt this will happen. From my research online it appears that the control panel issue is a latent defect which Maytag knows about but either wont or cant figure out how to deal with it or correct it. I have a scan of the receipt which Ill see if I can upload later. I know about one class action lawsuit for CA residents. I wonder if its been expanded.

Does not wash. Only very small loads get washed even though it claims to wash bedding. Some clothes NEVER get wet. Many times the clothes have to be rearranged and re-washed AND extra rinse. Cycles are over an hour each (then multiply x2!!). Maytag service has been called MULTIPLE times. They replaced the touch pad then the computer board. Both times saying the machine works “according to design/specs”. This is a Very poor design. Maytag should recall this inferior machine as it does not perform the job it is being sold for.

Two months after my warranty expired, the motor burned out on my dishwasher. I called Maytag to see what they would offer, but they would only offer a discount on the actual part. I was so angry I was ready to buy a new dishwasher and forget about them...but I dont have that kind of cash to throw away. After going 5 weeks without a dishwasher (first-world problem) I paid for the part and a repairman to come and fix the dishwasher. Now 3 months later, the touch panel wont work. I am so upset that I wasted the money to fix this piece of junk. I will never purchase another Maytag again.

Maytag Jetclean EQ Plus Dishwasher - We purchased the dishwasher in June of 2014. Recently the control panel decided it wont work. There is power to the unit. I am told that the unit is no longer in warranty so we have to pay for everything.

My freezer has been leaking from the bottom for a few months and now the icemaker has quit working as well. The refrigerator has been purchased less than two years ago. The warranty is expired. I will not fix this refrigerator, as it is a gigantic piece of junk. However I would like to be compensated by Maytag at least 1/3 of the price so I can have it removed from my house before it creates more damage to my floors and subfloors.

I purchased a refrigerator in Aug. 2012 from Home Depot. In June 2013, it broke. I contacted Maytag/Whirlpool and they had three companies come out to try and fix it over a four-week period when finally it was determined that it was unrepairable. Now I was told that we can get an exchange but now they have the incorrect delivery address and the person supposed to be handling my case has been on vacation and I left several messages. I contacted Maytag for someone else to help and cant seem to get anyone for the past 2 weeks. This has cost me money for food lost, time from work and time making calls.

We purchased our double free standing gas range about 6 years ago. Our top oven went out about 4 years after purchase. We purchased the extended warranty from Sears and it was fixed at no charge. About a year later, the top oven would not work again. We called Sears, our warranty was up so it would be a repair that we would have to pay for. We decided to go with the Maytag repair service since it is a Maytag appliance and we had to pay anyway. The repairman came in and said that the top box that holds the electronic in it had fried wires and it would have to be replaced. So for $480, he could replace it. It was more than likely caused by a power surge. I just read that this also coincidentally happened to someone else so I find this cause to ask more questions. I also note that the top of the oven behind the burners where there is some sort of vent gets extremely hot (I accidentally touched it and had a blister the next day) when the oven is being operated. This is directly under the box that holds the electronic components. I would think that may have something to do with the wires frying since it is that hot directly below the panel. Could this be a defect in the building of the stove? Has anyone else had this instance beside the one person that I read about on your website?

In 2009, we purchased $5,041 worth of Maytag appliances. Three years later, we have had issues with every appliance except the dryer. The washer needed a new motor and circuit board in February 2011. The oven light came on and stayed on because the switch malfunctioned in June 2011. The ice maker in the bottom drawer sprung a leak in February of 2012 and today, the over-the-range microwave stopped working without any sputters or warnings. While I was investigating the possible reasons for my microwaves demise (Im concluding that it is poor craftsmanship!), I found that my dishwasher is on recall. I did not have any problems with that and it is the one appliance that could have started a fire! Maytag appliances will not be bought again by me or anyone I know. They are a huge disappointment and waste of my money!

We bought a Maytag Neptune front loading washer from Bens Maytag in Surrey four years ago and it has been nothing but trouble. There is no screen in the machine to prevent small things (like coins, screws) from going behind the rubber seal and into the pump. As a result, coins frequently block off the outflow to the pump so the machine doesnt drain.We have had to pay for service calls more times than we can count, and have spent more than original price of the machine making repairs and replacing the pump. We now have learned to take off the hoses and open the pump to remove coins ourselves, which we have to do every few weeks! Bens Maytag tells us that its our fault for letting coins go in the wash. There is no accountability for the faulty design of the machine that allows this to happen. We should have cut out losses and thrown this piece of junk out three years ago. We want Maytag to take responsibility for the faulty design of this product and to credit at least our purchase price toward another machine that works properly!

I purchased a Maytag gas dryer in November 2011. This is January 2012. I have got to use mine maybe 2 weeks altogether since I had it. It is to be repaired for the 4th time tomorrow. In the meantime, I have to go to the laundry mat to dry clothes, Maytag refuses to do anything about this. They say they are helping me by getting it repaired each time it breaks down. I want a new dryer. The retailer I bought it from will not stand behind this product either. You see these commercials on TV where the Maytag guy is sitting back and waiting on a call. Thats a bunch of ***! I have never purchased a product from anyone that they would not stand behind it especially for the 4th time in two months. I will never buy another Maytag product as long as I live and I will tell everyone that I know not to buy one either.

Purchased this maytag oven from home depot November 2011. Oven has been working properly since install. The top burner controls do operate too easy and you can just brush up against the stove and turn the gas on which I seen here was mentioned. My major issue is the stainless steel finish that was applied. It appears that this metal was not properly prepared prior to applying the finish. The oven door is with rust blisters. The metal under the coating is causing this problem. The finish in the other areas is with no problems... No chemicals have been used to clean this oven.Customer service of maytag stated that this stove only has a one year warranty... so if you buy any maytag just remember one year and when it breaks down the cost to fix will be more than a new defective maytag stove. I will not purchase another maytag product and I do not recommend that this manufacturer be considered when purchasing any appliance.

My Neptune Maytag pair have been dependable. Great features. Now at 20 yrs old still kicking. Washer-front loader now has issue with fab softener going into wash correctly. Could be build up? Trying to self-fix. Very gentle with washing fine things. Hope I can keep going with them.

MFI2568AES - Last night we woke up because of a noise coming due to continuous snapping of the waterline against the walls of the refrigerator as well as a wall of the house structure itself. Very loud noise. I pulled the refrigerator, went behind it, and shut off the waterline. That stopped the noise and allowed me to go back to sleep. However, need your help to resolve this issue. I will appreciate if you can offer me pointers and guidance.

I bought a new top loader Maytag washer and dryer on 1/1/16. My first experience with the washer was as many in has stated - It Doesnt Clean, the clothes, also I have trouble with the fact that is there is a string loose, it become worst. Why did they improve a product that did not need improving. They just made it worst. It is totally **. Im stuck with it as I cannot afford another washer. The dryer work fine.

I purchased a Maytag French door refrigerator (model MF12569) two years ago. The bottom drawer freezer does not work well. Apparently, the inner tubing of the freezer clogs and it creates huge puddles of water. My floor got damaged and I keep calling Maytag and all I get is their apologies. I purchased an extra warranty which will expire on the third year. I am really disappointed with their product. I see why there are so many complaints filed and what makes matter worse is that they dont seem to acknowledge the problem. Apologies do not cut it. They need to do something to reestablish customer satisfaction.

Maytag Bravos Commercial Washer MVWX500XWO - This has been the worst experience with this $900 washer and breaking down in less than 2 yrs. Complete Garbage, New Locking Mechanism, now spin cycle not working. I am about to take back to Home Depot and let them have it. Garbage product - NOT WHAT MAYTAG USE TO BE... NORMAL 10 YRS NO ISSUES THIS MACHINE - STAY AWAY FROM.

Purchased a new side by side American made Maytag refrigerator (Model: MSD2559XVEB ) in August 2010 from Best Buy. Just returned from a 3 week vacation and the refrigerator died shortly after we left on trip ( 14 months post purchase date ). $700 worth of food ruined.

I purchased a Maytag Dishwasher in March 2013 and the control panel failed in July 2014. I, along with hundreds or thousands of others it seems, discovered that this is an extremely common issue with several models of Maytag dishwashers. Rather than standing behind their products and making it right for their customers, Maytag is hiding behind their one year warranty and refusing to do anything about it or even admit they installed thousands of FAULTY control panels. This has been an expensive, infuriating issue to deal with and I have never been so dissatisfied with a company. Bottom line, they made a bad product that should have been recalled. It blows my mind that they are getting away with this. I wish I had known the recent changes in Maytag/Whirlpool and I wish I had done my research prior to the purchase.
