Same issue as everyone else. After about 15 months the control panel on my Maytag dishwasher model#MDBH979SAM1 has malfunctioned. First it would only let me choose the rinse option but now all the lights are turning on and the dishwasher will not stop washing but yet the dishes are still dirty. I called Maytag and they quoted me 249.00 to fix the issue. But if its a common problem with this make and model why do I have to pay to replace the panel. They should recall this model or replace the panel with an updated one that wont have the same issues! I cant imagine paying 249.99 every year to replace this panel that seems to malfunction no matter what you do!!! I paid around 550.00 at the home Depot for this dishwasher! It did not even last me two years!!! I want a lawsuit filed against this company and I want my money back or my dishwasher replaced with one that works and wont have the same issues!!!

We bought a pair of Maytag Bravo MCT washer and dryer on May 30, 2011. On April 30th our dryer would not turn on. We called the Maytag service where we bought our machine, and were told it was a fried motherboard and would cost approx $600 parts plus labour. For a machine to last less than three years is very unreasonable. Maytag used to have such a good name. That is why we originally went for this brand. We were told by the service tech, that if we opted to buy a new replacement machine they would waive the service call charge. Is this how Maytag keeps selling units?? We bought the higher end units thinking that they would last 10+ years but now it seems Maytag has designed their machines that are disposable. Tisk tisk Maytag. No wonder your service men are lonely... Your sales staff are too busy reselling to loyal customers. Well, you have lost customer with us. We are going to Sears to buy a new dryer made by GE and will sell our Maytag washer on Craigslist and replace it with the matching washer from GE.

Its frustrating the way the bottom of the dishwasher has curves making wasted space. Second, the tracks for the trays are such that often the tray comes off the track and makes it difficult to get back on without unloading dirty dishes to do so. Finally, I really dont get the lighting system for dishwashing on the outside of the machine.

We purchased the washer and dryer set from Lowes about 5 years ago, and purchased the extended warranty fortunately for us. We had good luck with the washer for about 6 months, then we had to call problem service out because the washer filled with water but wouldnt do anything else. It took several days for the service people to come out and when they did, they had to order parts to do the repair, so we did not have a washer for a few days or a week. They got the washer fixed and everything was good for a few months, then our dryer quit working. We were told that the tub of the dryer had come off, so they had to order another one. So we were again without a dryer. Once they got the parts in the repair company that was sent out to fix our dryer, did not fix the dryer correctly so we had to call Lowes repair service to send someone out again. We have owned this set for over 4 years and once again our dyer has gone out. During all of this time, I and my Brother had to leave our job in order to be home and meet the maintenance people to fix both washer and dryer. I would not recommend this set to anyone, this is one of the worst sets that I have owned. I thought Maytag was a brand that you never had problems with, but we have had nothing but problems with this set.

We purchased a Maytag refrigerator with bottom freezer and French doors, in March of 2015, Model No. MFF2258DEM00. Its adjustable shelves and adjustable door bins were big points in its favor, at least in my eyes. So far both the fridge and freezer cool fine. The automatic ice maker was never connected, so we obviously have had no problems there. However, within a few months of purchase the bar that supports--and provides tracks for--the vegetable and fruit bins broke. It was replaced, but within another few months it had broken again. This is a DESIGN DEFECT that wont be remedied by replacing the item. The bar, which is plastic, hangs from a thin lip about 1/2 long by 1/8 thick. Thats way too flimsy to support the weight of one bin, much less two. There is no way to repair the bar. The entire assemblage needs to be redesigned and remade from sturdier material. Its not simply the inconvenience of having bins that dont operate smoothly. With their track broken, the bins rest on the glass top of the meat and cheese drawer--and threaten to break that. Theyve already caused the door to that drawer to crack.

Ive had this Maytag microwave for about 4 years and the magnetron had to be replaced. The keypad was replaced three times due to SE code shutting down unit which happened again. When I explained this to Maytag, they said it is out of warranty. I explained to them that the last keypad which was replaced was only 6 months old. They replied but the unit is out of warranty! We purchased our Maytag fridge on May 13, 2013. On June 19, 2013, it stopped working. We called Home Depot where we bought the fridge and they told us that we would have to deal with Maytag. What a nightmare. The repair guy came out and ordered a compressor for the fridge. 2 days later, when the compressor came in, the repair guy told us that the fridge was unrepairable. Great, what was I supposed to do with this hunk of metal now? I called Home Depot back, and they ordered me a new fridge, added a five-year warranty for free, and the Store Manager even dropped off a small dorm size fridge for us till our new one came in. Yeah for Home Depot!!!! I would recommend no one ever buy a Maytag product again - what a piece of junk. Their customer service didnt even care; they had the same old story - We will get back with you in 72 hours. Maytag was good when it was built in the US; now its just more China Junk.

Maytag MDBH979SAM1 w/ Steam - I purchased this dishwasher Jan 2014 as a scratch or dent at the Sears Outlet. The dishwasher worked great until 4-5-2015. About 3 months after the warranty ran out I called Sears and asked if there was any extended warranty coverage since I used the Sears card. They said No, but recommended I call MasterCard since my card had the MC emblem. MC says that they do extend the warranty up to 12 months. I just filed a claim and hopefully will get a paid for repair. So, if you used a credit card, you may have a warranty extension like me. Check it out. 2 stars because the dishwater is a great unit except for the control board. What a shame Maytag.

We bought Maytag refrigerator MTB2195 AEW in 2006 for a hefty sum. The store where it was purchased was closed. The place where it was serviced was closed. We have had seals replaced, fixed, etc. twice. The freezer is full of ice balls hanging. The refrigerator doesnt keep as cold as it should and stays steamed on glass. I had a repairman again today and was told that he cant fix it. The frame will not stay tight. Theres a 3/8 in. drop from left side to right. It cant seal properly. You have always been a great product. Whats happening here? What can you do for me; Im at wits end. I have an older refrigerator in the basement thats 26 years old and is still going strong. I need something done quickly as I dont want to wrangle with this ice any longer and shouldnt have to. Please give me your attention on this as soon as possible. Kathy

2 years ago I purchased a Maytag Washer & Gas Dryer. Unfortunately, I did not invest or believe in extended warranties. I believe in trying to buy quality products. The door on the washer would not open and 2 error codes were displayed. I was trying to add another piece of laundry and the washer had just started. I canceled the load, waited for the door lock light to go out, but the door would not open. The error codes began displaying E3 and F5. I immediately went to the Maytag website for a resolution. The suggestions did not work and was instructed to obtain service if they did not. I called for a service call for $35, but was told that the repair would be over $300 for parts and that was not including labor. The parts I needed were a control panel and a part for the door lock. This was not a Maytag Company service tech and he told me that this happens because the parts are plastic. Currently, besides a Maytag Washer & Dryer I have a microwave, stove, and dishwasher that are also Maytag. When I replace these appliances, I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER MAYTAG PRODUCT. I expect the quality and life of an appliance to be more than 2 years, without buying an extended warranty. When I told a friend what had happened with my Maytag Washer, she told me that she had a Maytag Washer broke down with a control panel problem, and she couldnt remember the other part. She informed me that her repair was over $500.

Maytag Commercial # MVWB765FW0: My husband and I wanted to get rid of our GE front load. It was horrible. Even constant cleaning and leaving the door open all the time, our clothes still smelled like mildew and musty. My hubby wanted an LG and I said no way. As a little girl my mom had an old wringer washer and her first electric washer was a Maytag in the late 50s. She passed away in 2001 and in her lifetime she had 2 electric washing machines both were Maytags. They were so dependable and built to last so naturally I wanted a Maytag. Wrong! I am so disappointed. We purchased it in Sept of 2017 for $695. I was so excited the first time we used it. It was a little noisy, but living in the county and having a well we were glad it was an energy/water saver. The first couple of months it was so refreshing to have clothes that did not smell musty and mildewy. I noticed they were really wrinkled but I still iron anyway so it was not a big deal. However ironing over and over again on some items did not get rid of the wrinkles and the past 2 months I have been going thru lint rollers like crazy and it still does not come off. I have to use a slightly damp lint brush or go over the clothing with packing tape to get the lint off. It is horrible! I dont want my GE back but I dont want this one either! I wish I would have read reviews first and listened to my hubby. I wont ever have another Maytag and when this one goes I will certainly read reviews and go with something more dependable. Unfortunately for now we have wasted the money and it is ruining our clothes! I agree that we should all do the class action. There are just too many of us experiencing the same issues. Maytag should do right by the consumer! We have learned our lesson, review before you buy!

I purchased the matching Bravos Washer and Dryer in April 2010 at Lowes. I also purchased the extended warranty to have coverage for 4 years after purchase date. I noticed the dryer sensor is not very accurate. The purpose of the sensor is to detect when clothes are dry and then end the drying cycle automatically. However, it fails in both ways. When the dryer stops on its own, the clothes are still damp. I have the setting on NORMAL>LOW HEAT>NORMAL DRYNESS (the reason for the low heat is not to fade/shrink clothes) and even though the heat is on low, it should still keep running until the clothes are dry. So when I open the door and feel the clothes, they are still damp; I turn it back on to run again. If I dont check on it every 10 minutes, the dryer just keeps running and the clothes are bone dry. The sensor should detect this. Once, I decided to test it to see how long it would run with dry clothes and it ran for an HOUR before it shut off. Talk about a waste of electricity. The washer also has issues. First is the SHEETS setting. This setting is supposed to prevent sheets from tangling/balling up. Every time I use the sheets setting, my washer stops with the UL error - uneven load. Meaning, I have to babysit the washer because otherwise, it will stop and wait until I pull out the sheets and loosen them up. I am only washing 1 fitted full size sheet, 2 flat full size sheets, and 4 pillow cases. The reason I bought this machine was because it is supposed to handle king size bedding. Apparently, this washer cannot even handle full size bedding and I refuse to wash each item individually - the machine is supposed to save energy, not require extra loads. The second issue I am having, which resulted in me calling to utilize my extended warranty, is tiny rust dots on my clothes! About 3 months ago, I noticed one of my t-shirts had 4 tan spots smaller than the size of a dime. I assumed I spilled something on myself. About a month later, I noticed it was on another top. Then I assumed it was something on the back of my chair at work causing the spots. It seems to happen every couple of weeks because another article of clothing had these mysterious dots on them. Once, it appeared on my towels and sheets. I realized it was not me spilling anything on myself, nor was it from anything on my chairs. Now, I wasnt sure whether it was the washer or dryer, but I noticed when I pulled out a white sweater from the washer, there were 3 dots on it in the front, and I definitely would have noticed these before, which is how I came to the conclusion it’s from the washer. I cannot see any rust inside of the washer basket so I dont know where its coming from, but I am certain it is not from other articles of clothing (such as zippers or snaps); and the reason I know this is because I do not wash towels with clothes and also, I am 8 months pregnant and have been wearing maternity clothes for the past 5 months and they do NOT contain any zippers or snaps. I took pictures of the rust stains on various items and combined to 1 image. Now, I called my extended warranty to have a service technician come assess these three problems. Well see what happens.

I purchased a Maytag Dishwasher (MDB7749AWW1) just over a year ago from Sears. I did not get an extended warranty since the appliance wasnt over $1,000 and I thought I would take my chances. Sure enough, about one month after the warranty expired, it all falls apart. There is something wrong with the control panel and I cant get anything to work. Ive been looking online and see that this is a common problem. So rather than throw more dough into the money pit, Im purchasing a new, simple, uncomplicated GE Americana washer from Home Depot for $279. I figure this will cost me less than going through the repair dance with Sears and Maytag. I will never purchase an appliance from Sears again. Ive been through the mill already with a $2,000 Jenn-Air range that has broken down five times in the past three years (2 times it was the control panel). I was lucky that I purchased the 5 year extended warranty on that one, but never, ever again will I deal with Sears.

I bought a Maytag refrigerator, model MBF 2256 KEQ2, two and a half years ago. Now the cooling coils are freezing up. I checked heater and thermostat for continuity and they were okay so the only thing left was the timer control circuit. On the earlier models, the timer control circuit is controlled by a Timer Motor or an Adaptive Defrost Timer which is separate from the main Electronic Control Board and much less expensive. On later models (including mine), the timer control circuit is incorporated into the main Electronic Control Board so if your automatic defrost quits working, more than likely you will have to replace the main board. I did not purchase an extended warranty because I believe they are useless from past experience. I bought the part on Amazon.com, received it in four days and replaced it myself for a cost of $78. This part costs $110 to $118 at Sears or a Maytag dealer.

If I want to line dry something, first I have to pick off all the lint. Even when I use the dryer, I still have to pick off lint and there’s often creases with dirt dried right in. Maytag products are a waste of money! I purchased a Maytag Front Load Washer a couple of years ago during the Cash for Clunkers rebate where we were asked to give up our reliable machines for so called energy efficient new models. After spending over $1,000 on this fancy front load machine and having it installed, I go to use it the first time and it won’t work. It took me a month to get someone to come and repair the bad board on it. I then started to use it and after a year, the thing started making a horrible loud noise. I called the repair folks and they told me it is out of warranty. I called a local repair guy who told me that the drum is shot and that it will cost $700 to repair. So I got a total of 10 months of use out of this stupid thing. Thats $100 a month to do my laundry! I would be better of dry cleaning! I have searched the web and see that this is a common issue and that Maytag refuses to make this right. Well, I can choose to never buy a Maytag again. I hope that others will heed our advice and do the same.

We built a new home in 2008 and purchased a Maytag appliance package from Home Depot, including a dishwasher, stove and refrigerator. From the beginning, we had problems with our French door refrigerator (MFC2061HEW; it has been discontinued). Within the first year we had 3 ice makers replaced because it was not making any ice. Now, mind you, we went through Maytag to have their repairman to service our appliance and they set up all the service calls. We limped by for awhile and called a different repairman to come and check the fridge because it was not staying cold or making ice again and, of course, it was out of warranty. The first thing he did was check the freon and we were told that it didnt have enough freon to keep it going, so he recharged it and it worked great. We have had to have the repairman come back again this month because it stopped making ice and the temperature for upper and lower was all over the place. He checked the freon again and said the unit has a slow leak in it and he was unable to fix that. I contacted Maytag because I felt if the first repairman had checked the freon from the beginning, we wouldnt be having this problem. The only suggestion I got from them was call a company with a dye kit test and that they are sorry, but its not under warranty. I dont know about anyone else, but $2000.00 for a fridge that has been a pain since day one is a lot of money to replace. I feel they dont care about their customers and they should be responsible for paying for the repair that should have been caught from the get-go.

Maytag service workers came out and at first said they needed to balance it. That was not it. Then they said it was the drawers that I purchased as an option. Finally, one guy just straight up said they had no answer for it. Then came the day, last month, it was spinning and suddenly it started to rock and I ducked out because I thought the tub was coming through. I seen smoke. Yelled for the kids to get outside. With the phone in one hand calling the fire dept, I ran for the electric box & started throwing switches. Fire dept said that is what saved my house. Now it sits in my dining area because of a lawsuit I was never contacted about. No parts are available. Thats what happened when Maytag chose to send the business to China. Now they are back to making them in the USA but why would I buy again from a company that does not make good? Well I love blogging and Facebooking. I know 40% of Central FL because Ive lived here 60 years, plus my husband serve all of Orange County 35 years. This review will go out all over. Anyone need a tall table?

We have reported the first time use of New Gas Range using the oven and range top at the same time is impossible because of BURN HAZARD AND the response was soft with no explanations. The range arrived March 26, 2015. We were impressed with first baking only. Family arrived at our vacation home for Easter celebration. Our first meal on Good Friday using both oven and range top was a disaster and the cook was burned on the stainless steel knobs. The oven vents below the knobs were about the temperature of the 380 degree setting of the oven!We rendered the unit unusable and called Maytag customer care department during the late table dinner. I explained on the 45 min call we were having this event and would be all leaving Thursday and their solution was 8 to 10 day shipping of Fake composite stainless looking knobs. These knobs will have to be sent to our Ohio home 500 miles west of the Range location?? If they could ship that day why not overnight??THE SOLUTION OF WEARING OVEN MITTS FOR STOVETOP COOKING IS NOTHING SHORT of silly to conduct meals for our guest. And other members of our family that we permit occasional use of the home open to burns using this Range until we drive 1000 miles round trip to drive the knobs back to NJ from Ohio??? Customer Care fails to listen. We will not be returning until May. To illustrate my concerns about the logistical issues I asked if Maytag would pay for the mileage and tolls for me to replace BURN proof knobs. Oh and will it work or melt? Furthermore who will pay for the takeout needed to feed our family? He did not get it and consulted with supervisors for most of the call therefore 45 min of wasted call. No solution, self installation on an $800 Range. Dissatisfied CUSTOMER with an unusable Gas Range Burn HAZARD!! Poor Design oven vents less than 2 inches below stove knobs! See Photos.

My wife & I purchased our Maytag dishwasher model # MDBH979SAB1 on 3/8/
My wife & I purchased our Maytag dishwasher model # MDBH979SAB1 on 3/8/13 from homedepot.com. Approximately 24.5 months later our dishwasher experienced control panel light button malfunctions similar in description to the many other consumer complaints on this & other forums. I would like to share some additional information based on my research about this issue and possible fix. The source of Whirlpools control panel issue is design related. The issue is caused from moisture which induces oxidation on the Flexible Printed Circuit (FPC) cable that is integrated with the control panel and connects via connector to the electronic control box. The issue usually manifests itself on the cable just where it bends coming out of the touch membrane panel. The oxidization of the FPC cable eventually creates electronic shorts or opens between the parallel traces thus causing the panel control lighted function problem which disables the dishwasher from being used. The cable, since integrated with the control panel, is not a separate replaceable part. In order to repair, the Whirlpool diagnostic action is to replace the entire control panel. I quickly learned after doing some online research about Whirlpools control panel issue that it extends back to at least 2011 with control panel part # W10475784 and corresponding or like PNs of this design. The number of control panels sold of this design by various online appliance part centers coincide with the high number of reported like control panel failures. In just 2015 alone so far, the sales for this control panel have been in the hundreds. This indicates that Whirlpool continues to replace defectively designed control panels upon failure with defectively designed control panels. There was also a class action lawsuit filed against Whirlpool in the state of California on May 6th, 2013 for the control panel issue. The filed lawsuit is public & the whole document is available online as a pdf file. Unfortunately, Judge **, granted Stipulation to Dismiss Case with prejudice 74 on 5/23/14. I was unable to find out any details as to why the case was dismissed. I did not call Whirlpool about my control panel issue, instead I handled all correspondence through Email to them at WHIRLPOOL_CUSTOMEREXPERIENCE@WHIRLPOOL. COM.My initial correspondence included all the facts about this issue & that I did not wish to have their warranty coverage/period explained to me for I understood them, the problem was a quality issue, and just basically wanted to know what they were going to do or have been doing about resolution. The email correspondence with them got me nowhere. They initially replied back with all the form niceties like We apologize, We understand your frustration, & We value you as a customer, but denied every knowing about such control panel issue, regurgitated their warranty policy & period and were unwilling to resolve anything. In their last reply they stated how unfortunate it was that customers only take the time to provide negative feedback!! This is just bad business, and though I would not like to think it, but the control panel issue may have been by marketing design. Please keep in mind that Whirlpool manufactures appliances under at least 15 different name brands including Maytag, Kenmore, Admiral Kirkland, KitchenAid, Roper, Speed Queen to name a few. All is not lost, being an electronics engineer I looked into the do it yourself fix. If you are not comfortable in doing this, you may be able to find someone to help. I was able to repair mine by carefully scraping off the oxidation from the FPC cable (will appear brown in color) & encapsulating it with high density 100% dampening silicon (non-caulk type) to protect it from moisture & withstand heat. There can be other ways of protecting it from moisture instead of silicon, just make sure it can withstand heat, wont become brittle, & that it may not cause potential damage to the cable itself. My repair has worked for about 4 weeks now, & shows no sign of oxidizing. The problem may be more severe if the oxidation has actually opened or broke one or more of the small cable traces. Do not attempt to solder this cable! Its way too thin & will only make matters worse. An open can be carefully bridged with a conductive glue or ink thats on the market. One source is a window defogger repair kit product thats sold at auto stores that has a conductive glue in it. Post open repairs will need to be checked with an ohm meter to make sure repair is good and that any adjacent trace lines have not been shorted by repair. Of those of you that have just bought or had installed Whirlpools defective control panel, please encapsulate the FPC cable as soon as possible to protect it from moisture. If you dont, it will surely oxidize again over time.

We bought a brand new Maytag refrigerator online model # MSD2660KES and it arrived dead. The first Maytag tech that was sent said he does not recommend us fixing the problem because refrigerant leaking will happen every few years. We were not able to return the refrigerator, so we opted to let Maytag fix it. Here we are 2 years later and sure enough, the refrigerator has stopped cooling. We are out of warranty period, so the service call cost us $65.00. The tech told us this time its the compressor and replacement would cost $650.00 to fix. We are not wasting any more money on this piece of junk.

This washing machine is garbage! We paid almost 1000$ for it and it damaged most of our clothes. We believe this washer was released from Maytag with a functional problem. Because it does not drain the water and soap properly, therefore it leaves white stains on the clothes after it is done. Please see in the picture. After recommendation from Lowes we clean washed with Affresh for many times, it did not fix the issue! We called Maytag customer warranty service. They sent a technician and his solution did not solve our problem. We called them again and they said if they send a technician again they might charge us 130$. We think Maytag warranty is a waste of time and energy. They are useless. We will never ever buy anything from Maytag.

We have a 3 year old washer dryer. The wash stopped working so we called Maytag directly to have their repair person come look at their product. Little did we know that they sub contract repair to local companies I could have contacted myself. After being told the authorized dealer was Maytag I soon found out it was not a Maytag employee. The man who came has no idea what is wrong and is guessing at issues. Once a installed part is not the cause he wants to try something else but we have to pay for him to trial and error. We have spent hundreds of dollars and yet our washer is still broken. We have decided to go buy another washer as this is our cheaper option (it will not be a Maytag or Whirlpool). When I tried to talk to ** (Maytag manager who lied on the phone to me and was very rude) manager I was talking to refused and told I had to file my complaint with her co-work. I have never heard of this! We will never buy Maytag or Whirlpool (same company) as our dishwasher after 1 year 3 months old needed a new motor total repair $450.00. Their products break down early.

Stay away from this product!!! Lets just say one star is too much for this product. Terrible. Lets just say one star is too much for this product. We bought this washer 2/2017. We used our previous Maytag washing machine for about 15 years without any problems. But this machine on the first try was a big disappointment because it did not wash clothes very well. Clothes come out of washing machine smelling bad and you could see the soap scum on darker clothing. We try to return the machine to Home Depot after 3 days, but they said after 48 hours they could not take it back. So if there was any problems we had to call a technician to repair it. Well, there is nothing to repair because thats just the way the machine is designed to conserve water.Worst washer and the customer service is even worse than this machine because they just keep repeating that if there is nothing to repair then, there is no problem. So, therefore its not their responsibility. TERRIBLE!!! I even bought their extended warranty and that doesnt do anything with dissatisfaction on this product. If you are owner of this company or at least care about your company, you should stop making this kind of product, and listen to peoples complaints!!! What a waste of our hard earned money in this bad economy!!!

Also seems like a case of the middle American getting worked over by the big corporate giant. Not happy. Will not suggest Maytag to anyone. Not looking forward to having to replace something that should have lasted significantly longer.

Maytag Bravo Washer - I recently purchase a fairly expensive washer built by Maytag. In my opinion it is the worst washing machine I have ever owned. Again in my opinion their advertising about being such a reliable company should be considered false advertising, and near criminal. If you had a lower rating I would use it. Absolutely you should never use the word Bravo in a description of this washer. I will never purchase a Maytag appliance again. Check the internet for reviews before you purchase. Dual oven - one is a convection oven. Never used the bottom drawer so that was wasted on previous range. I purchased a white appliance to match my others. The white stove top is a pain. Too bad it wasnt black. I checked this model online and found a good price in the city. I contacted the local Home Depot and they did a price match less 10% - all a bonus. The ovens work great although I have not tried the self clean. I have read that similar models have problems related to the self clean feature - high heat and circuit boards. My plan is to have a fan directed at the top of the stove when I use it and the range hood fan going. The convection oven is great - hard to mess up a recipe with that. The dual ovens are truly a great feature - strongly recommend. The keep warm is great also - nice to have two things cooking at the same time. That being said - the bottom oven is low, but that is worth the extra cooking space.

This was a Home Depot purchase. I love the middle drawer but the freezer has this problem. I removed the ice but it comes back. I did not purchase the extended warranty because if you have an excellent product, you dont need an extended warranty. And of course this happened RIGHT AFTER the warranty ran out. I purchased my Maytag Neptune pair on Jan. 24, 2005. I was unaware of the problems and lawsuit related to these items. Luckily, I didnt have any problems with them until May of this year. At that time, I spent $337.00 for a new control panel for the dryer. (Just because I didnt want to split up my set.) I expected them to last me for the rest of my life. Of course, the washer had started to do something even the repair man had never heard of before, right about the same time. I told him that the tub would fill up with gallons of water, and surprise me when I opened the door on various occasions, flooding my laundry room and the basement downstairs. Mind you, this would occur even with the water supply cut off to the machine, no hot or cold running to it.He performed a diagnostic test on it and said everything showed up fine. Of course, it didnt overflow while he was here. He is the one who told me about all the trouble and the lawsuits. I had wondered why I didnt see them for sale anymore. I have been keeping the water turned off except when I need to use it after all this time. It still happens! The repairman thought I was senile or something. I dont have a mold problem, no trouble with the door lock (yet), and out of all the comments and complaints Ive read online today, only this site had one with a problem of it flooding the house. My husband and I are on a fixed income, and here is this unit (that I thought would be my last) rotting out my floor and wall in the laundry room, and flooding my basement. Not to mention it rusting out the inside of the washer and its pedestal. I would like to hear from anyone else who had this water problem, and what it took to fix it.

Purchased a Maytag side by side MSB27C2XAM00 in June 2014 to replace a 20 year old Kenmore. After 14 months the fridge stopped keeping things cold in the food compartment and in the freezer. And, the water and ice dispensers stopped working. Called Maytag and they confirmed the fridge was 2 months past the warranty and the best they could do was offer an extended one-year warranty for $325 and set up an appointment. I declined and called a local repair company. They responded promptly and discovered the problem was a bad board. Had to replace the board at a cost of $475 (parts and labor). It was $150 more than the extended warranty but I was already in the hole for $100 service call and I was able to get the fridge repaired on the spot. I had the Kenmore for 20+ years without one repair. Maytag was good for one year and 2 months. Dont know how this company will last with a $2000 product that lasts a year. I can not recommend this product and advise anyone in the market for any appliance to avoid Maytag products.Updated on 11/20/2015: After the board was replaced, the fridge worked but was not keeping either of the side by side compartments cold. They were cool but not cold. Repairman returned. Said it was the compressor which needed to be repaired/replaced. Maytag said the compressor was under a 10 year warranty unlike the other parts of the fridge. Good news, Maytag covered the cost of the part / but bad news that it broke after 14 months of use. However, the service people told me the cost of the compressor was the smallest part of the repair. Labor and service would be costly and Id be better off getting a new fridge with a 5 year warranty contact. After I got over the initial shock of having to toss a 14 month old fridge that cost $1500 and complaining to Maytag, I went to Lowes and found a replacement fridge. This time it was not a Maytag. Moral of the story stay away from Maytag. Dont be fooled by the brand. Avoid them at all costs. And purchase a fridge with a 5yr+ warranty contact!

After 2 years and 1 month, the machine stopped spinning the clothes on any of the cycles. After attempting to use the spin cycle manually that stopped working. I called Maytag, my washer is out of warranty. After discussing the situation with knowledgeable appliance people, they said it is probably the motherboard. I know how expensive that is to repair and pay for a repairman to diagnosis the problem. I decided to purchase a new washer. Of course, it was not a Maytag. I read online all the people with same or similar problems left out of luck. This is an outrage and Maytag should not be allowed to get away with producing, selling and not standing behind the products. Washer leaves spots on clothes and massive knots in clothes. The serviceman has been here twice since we bought it and was told to use extra wash option and heavy load wash with fabric softener option as well, and to only use about one tablespoon of detergent. So much for the green option! Results, still washing clothes 2 or 3 times per load then into the dryer. Tried an experiment - washed a pair of my daughters white capris and then washed them at a friends house while water was saved in a separate tub. Holy crap, the dirt in the water. Do not buy this machine. Not even if it is offered to you for free.

We had purchased a Maytag refrigerator from a local appliance store in May
We had purchased a Maytag refrigerator from a local appliance store in May 2012. The fridge was delivered in June and come August 5, 2013, it does not work. First, the temperature of the refrigerator declined drastically causing us to lose over $500 worth of food. Items that were even unopened had to be thrown down the drain. The first call was made to Maytag customer service. They decided to send a technician. Great. The technician came and informed us that it was the refrigerant. WRONG. The second technician comes and states that the compressor is shot and that is why it is not staying cold. Time to order the compressor that is on back order. Shocking. Another week goes by without a fridge. Cut to the third technician who comes and installs the new compressor. Fridge is cool and at about 32 degrees for probably 4 hours. The food goes back in the fridge and the temperature climbs to 70 within minutes. Strike two. Contact Customer Service and demand answers on what can be done. Speak with the first representative named Melinda. If you get her good luck. She states she doesnt care and hangs up. Call back to speak with another representative who is very sweet and compassionate and tries her best to help. Unfortunately, she was unable to do so. Asked to speak with a supervisor and had the displeasure of speaking with Scott. For all the trouble that we have been going through, time wasted, food thrown away, Scott can offer $100. Yeah, okay, nice try. The more we speak with Scott, he ups the ante to $150 and the final offer of $200. I advised Scott that there is someone higher than him that needs to be involved after he told me that he was the highest I could go. Wrong again. Time goes by and nothing happens. We receive a call from Yvette ** that was missed and call her back in the corporate executive office. We have contacted her and left her 4 voice mails and the response has been nothing. Actually, calling her you get her message that she is not available. This is over the span of a week. Nothing. ANOTHER technician is sent to look at the fridge and what was supposed to be a brand new compressor that was installed and states that the fridge is condemned. Well isnt that lovely?! Of course because the parts are made in Brazil and Maytag is charged $15 for them and they charge the consumer $200. There is no reason why they should work. We got in touch with the appliance store who told us that we need to speak with Maytag to ask for our money back because we are NOT taking the same fridge as a replacement. Now, we are plagued with the appliance store not taking our calls, the corporate executives not taking our calls, and a $1300 stainless steel french door paperweight. With a call in to our attorney and the phone poised to be dialing our local news stations, I am not sure of what the next move for Maytag will be. Im sitting here after 21 days of not having a refrigerator hoping that a call and resolution comes soon. My family will NEVER EVER purchase a Maytag appliance again. I wouldnt even purchase Maytag brand toilet paper because Im sure that it would need to have one function and even that function as easy as it is would not work. People, please save yourself the headache and the money and the time of dealing with Maytag, Whirlpool, and Amana. Their customer service does not care about you, their products are crap, and they will swindle you and leave you high and dry. I hope to have some good news about this issue but I can guarantee that nothing good is going to come of this, well, at least for Maytag. Get on your social media and let people know how TERRIBLE this company is. STOP BUYING THEIR PRODUCTS. Sorry Maytag, the buck stops here.

I first had issues with it putting holes in my clothes. I then found out if you do not zip up all zippers and button all buttons, the machine will rip them up due to the high speed spin cycles. CONSUMER BEWARE! The Maytag Bravos X is without equal the biggest disappointment I have ever had the frustration of using. What a rip off! Water goes in, water goes out and it makes A LOT of noise. That’s it! (That locking lid should have been our first clue.) Specifically, a normal load takes one hour. What you save in water you pay double for in electricity. If you place a folded pair of pants in the washer that’s the way they come out; folded. Two twin sheets and a small blanket come out of the washer with dry spots every single time. If I use liquid fabric softener the clothes come out spotted with it. And it is louder than the train. You would be 100x better off purchasing a washer at a yard sale for $25 than to throw your money away on the Maytag Bravos X. DON’T DO IT.

The load level is not an issue. We have had the serviceman out four times, he has called the tech support each time and they cannot resolve the issue. Maytag said sorry! Unless it does it constantly then they cant help. The control panel has been replaced and the drum has been replaced. I had the old style machine and finally it gave out and I bought an LG HE Large capacity. It was a well I can print it here but kept the machine for 5 years and gave it away. I bought a new Bravo Maytag set 5.2 with the old style agitator thinking I was going to get a great machine and NO. These new machines do not use enough water in the load sensing and clothes on top never get in the water. They come out with soap stains even with a double rinse. And no I am not using too much soap! My old machine had small medium and large load settings plus you could add more water if needed. Way better machine. The techs are trained to tell you this is how the machines work and there is nothing wrong with them. Finally an honest tech told me they are having all sorts of complaints and problems. If all you wash is bedding and dress clothes you get by but if you really have soiled clothes you have to do a lot of prep and then stop in the middle of the wash cycle and rotate your clothes manually! Total BS for 8-900 dollar machines. Do yourself a favor and buy a front load. At least the clothes will get flopped in and out of the water and hopefully rotate so they actually get clean. That is what I am going to try before I go back to the old scrub board and tub!

We knew we were out of the 1 year warranty and contacted a repair service, who told us the bearing was no good. Contacted Maytag who offered in goodwill to pay for the parts and we would pay for the labor. A different repair person came in and told us the washer has no bearings but a transmission, which went bad. They ordered the transmission and today the repair person was in to install it. He installed the transmission, but while trying to take out the old one he dented the drum. According to my husband the repair person banged so hard that it sounded as if something could have been damaged, sure enough it was the drum. Contacted Maytag to see if anything can be done as now we still have no washer, and the repair person was their selection not ours. All we got from Maytag was they are not responsible and there is not much more they can do. I cannot believe the last Maytag product we had lasted over 20 years and this one is less than 6 years with problems. Will not purchase another of their products again.

Very disappointed with my 2014 purchase of model MDB8959SBS3 dishwasher. In fact it is no longer in service. We used the dishwasher approximately twice a day. The wheels on the pull out racks starting falling apart in the first 6 months. Then the soap dispenser failed. It would not shut. We replaced both the wheels and the dispenser only to find ourselves with the exact same problems in a matter of months. My hubby got really good at fixing both of these items. The final straw was earlier this year as when we turned it on the motor/water pump started making a screeching sound. Never had to replace an appliance that was only four years old in my lifetime. Just very disappointed with the quality of Maytags dishwasher.

Maytag BRAVOS XL Washer - The worst washer I have ever used. Do not buy! It does not use enough water and leaves a white scummy residue on dark clothes. You have to wash them all off in warm water and then send it through one or two more rinses to get it washed off. I may as well do laundry by hand! Absolutely disgusting!

Warranty dept. will not help you! I have been told by technicians sent to service my refrigerator after it spoiled food multiple times from not staying cold. The technician flat out told me that this refrigerator cannot be fixed but they are not allowed to say that it cannot be fixed. They will not return your calls and are just flat out rude. After asking to escalate a call, the rep said the manager will call me right back in a few minutes. Hours went by and I called again five minutes before they closed to speak to someone in management at that moment. This manager told me with no hesitation that they dont always believe what their technicians say because they send out techs that are good, okay, and not good. My first question is why is Maytag confident in the people they are sending to my house time and time again that stay for three hours?! She began to get rude and disrespectful and said, Well, if you had cancer, you wouldnt believe the first thing they say... I am in awe of these remarks. How do you compare a refrigerator to cancer?! I asked for a business address and stated that I would like the address to file with the Better Business Bureau and she told me that they have all the info I need. She refused to let me speak to anyone else. This situation is uncalled for when I have the technician telling me, This refrigerator is not repairable but they wont allow me to say that and Maytag will not make this an easy process for you. Unbelievable!

Maytag mod# MBF2258XE81, Ser# K04712605. 3 years old. At 6 months old, the drain plug clogged. Freezing water under pull out drawer of freezer, spilling onto kitchen floor. Fixed under warranty. 9 months later the same thing. I had to pay $190. Now, it has been happening for 6 months, and I use a spatula to lift the sheet of ice out. I have to do this every 10 days, or it leaks onto the floor, tile and rug in my kitchen. This is just wrong. I see I am not the only one. If Maytag does not fix this known problem, I guess I will get a new fridge. I had my last fridge for 21 years, never had problem. Thought I was upgrading.

We purchased this microwave in Jan. 2012 to accompany a Maytag double oven for our kitchen remodel. Last night while using the microwave, 2 sparks shot up out of the top of the microwave and an electrical surge noise. I quickly un-plugged the appliance. The next day I attempted to use the microwave again and dense electrical smelling smoke poured from the top of the microwave, again un-plugged the machine. I have called an appliance repairman since the 1 year warranty is up. This machine is not even 2 years old and we will never again purchase a Maytag product. PS If the problem is the magnetron (whatever that is) I will contact Maytag for the warranty information.

The lights on the panel completely quit working mid cycle. At $175 per replacement, we are into repairs for half of what we paid for the dishwasher. Bought Maytag because it is made in the USA but found out that a majority of the parts are imported from China? Very disappointing.

My brand new top of the line Maytag Bravo washing machine lid was broken and locked and would not open. I had clothes in there getting moldy. Three days in Pacific Sales trying to get help. The washer, of course, is under warranty (about 90 days). Finally a repairman came out from Appliance Doctor. He had no clue what he was doing. The company was rude. Then Maytag said High Tech was coming out yesterday, Monday, Dec 16, 2013 between 8 and noon. It never happened and when I called High Tech, he was rude and said it was not on his calendar.Maytag will not give my money back or a new machine or provide a competent repair company to fix it. I will be giving away the 1000.00 washing machine for someone else to fix and buying another brand. I would never buy Maytag anything after this experience. Please note, this is the first time I have ever complained to Consumer Affairs. Thank you for your time.

Maytag Top Loading Washer-We bought this machine a little over a year ago and it is one of the worst products weve ever purchased. More often than not clothes barely get wet and then wad up into a twisted mess which stops the machine. Ive had to restart a load over and over. And, the clothes are not as clean as they were from our former Maytag washer which lasted 14 years. The new washer has to be cleaned at least once a month or it smells. We purchased this washer from HHGregg and they are no longer in business or I would complain to them about selling faulty products. I dont know why the manufacturer decided to remove the agitator from new models. What a mistake! We have decided to get rid of this washer and buy another brand. No more Maytag (or Whirlpool) products... ever!

I purchased a new Maytag dishwasher model MDB7609AWB1 approximately 2yrs ago from Sears. We purchased quite a few new appliances from them and they are always helpful. Within the first year, right after the warranty was up, it stopped working. No lights on the power panel. I called Sears, out of warranty, sorry. Said they would give me a deal on the repair. Sears came out, replaced the computer. $230.00. 6 months later, it stops working again. I go on line to look up these models and sure enough a lot of people are having the same issues. I did some of the checks that they said to do and found my plastic door latch was broken. A little plastic arm that actuates the switches broke. Should have been made of metal. I replace it myself, very easy, by the way. So I figure, in another 8 months it will prob break again. They run anywhere from $19.00-$30.00. 2 days ago power panel and light, not working again. I called Sears and asked them if they were having issues with the power panels that this was the second time in less than 2 years, and if there were any recalls, they said no. I guess they dont follow their reviews, but according to google reviews, its a major problem with most of them. Maytag, Whirlpool, and Amanda. Ordered a new panel today, again they are $141 from Sears but if you shop, you can get a new one for less than $85.00. If you have any kind of mechanical skills, you can replace it in less than 20 mins. It just seems to me that this big companies have let their quality control go and are more concerned about the profit. There should be a recall on these. Do Not buy a Maytag/Whirlpool dishwasher, they are total junk. Sorry Maytag, you lost another customer.

I purchased a Maytag Legacy Series Quiet Series 300 in early July 2010. It had a recall for a heater part that could potentially burn down my house, so we couldnt use it while we waited for that part to be replaced. They offered me a small sum of money towards the purchase of a much more expensive dishwasher which I declined since Id only had the dishwasher a few months at the most. It is now the end of August 2011, a month past their factory warranty. The dishwasher did not get my dishes clean, made awful grinding noises and three days ago, it refused to drain and then spewed 50 or more gallons of water all over my kitchen which then leaked into the basement. The repairman charged $85 to tell me that the computer in the control panel had burned out and was not fixable. I think I paid somewhere in the region of $500 for this machine. My last dishwasher lasted about ten years. This is completely unacceptable. In searching the internet, I found hundreds, if not thousands of identical complaints. Clearly, this machine is a lemon and Maytag should be forced to replace it or better yet, refund the money spent to purchase the machine. Plus, pay for my valuable time spent mopping up water, washing dishes by hand, searching the internet for probable cause and potential solutions, waiting for Maytag/Home Depot to respond to my inquiries and a large sum for general annoyance. Maytag had a reputation of reliability (emphasis on had). Theyve got some slick ads but they do not stand behind their products at all. I will never by another Maytag product and I urge you to do the same.

I purchased this high-end dishwasher 7 years ago and 3 years of fairly light use, the control panel on the top would operate sporadically or not at all. Called the dealer who sent out the repairman that installed it and had to replace the control panel to the tune of $300 once the labor was included (took 2 visits as he had to order the part, so 2 trip charges). Now 3 & 1/2 years later, it is doing it again!! A call to Maytag and then a transfer to Whirlpool customer service got me nowhere. They said there were no recalls or documentation for problems with the dishwasher. Really??? I see lots of complaints on this problem with very similar Maytag dishwasher models. They would not send me a new part at no charge as a result but offered to set up a service appointment for me so I can spend another $300 (probably higher now after 3 years) and would register my complaint. Thanks for nothing!Doing that would turn my originally $900 dishwasher into a $1500 one with the result that it will probably fail again in 3 years. Absolutely ridiculous customer service. I saw a YouTube video on taking it apart and applying silicone around the ribbon connections as others have done in the hopes I can get it working again for a while as I dont have the $$$ needed to replace it again on a retired fixed income. :(

We bought a New Condo, all New Maytag appliances with a 10 yr. warranty, the microwave is a built-in model. I cant believe weve only been here a year and eight months and it just stop working. We use it for heating and short timed cooking like 1 to 2 minutes. I would think a name brand product would last a lot longer than this. I had an off brand microwave for five years before the condo. A couple of times the microwave door didnt close, I thought I forgot to close it. But after reading your reviews I now realize its one of the defects of the product. I called the Maytag company, they informed me that if a serviceman come out to fix it, it will cost me $180 until they can determine if the cause is something covered by their warranty??? The Home Builders bought Maytag junk and passed us the cost, now Maytag wants me to pay to see if their junk can be fixed??? Wow!!! This is unbelievable!

Bought this Maytag Bravos Washer online from Lowe’s in the holiday season
Bought this Maytag Bravos Washer online from Lowe’s in the holiday season of December 2017 because my previous Maytag HE washer broke after 17 years. I have had nothing but issues with this washer right from the start. The clothes do not come clean as I find myself putting them through the wash cycle two or three times to have them washed and come somewhat clean. The clothes come out soaking wet that I have to put them through the rinse and spin cycle at least one or two more times. I called Lowe’s to complain about this washer and they said they only have a 30 day return policy and they would be happy to call for service for me. I told them it didn’t work from the start but they didn’t care. So now, sadly, I have a repairman coming this week to fix my new washer, And hopefully he can fix it that I can use it and it can properly wash clothes. I wish I would have her read the reviews on Consumer Affairs about this washer before purchasing this Maytag. Not happy with Maytag. I would have never bought it and bought a different brand. Codes appear on the face of the washer better. Nowhere in the manual that I had to personally download myself because it didn’t come with one. And oh did I mention that I need a step ladder to reach into the bottom of the tub? This washer should come yellow because it is definitely a lemon!

This Bravos washer and dryer saves energy for sure, but sadly, that is it. It does not wash my clothes and rinse them adequately. They are so twisted and wrinkled I have ironed just about all my clothes. Even my synthetics are severely wrinkled. The dryer sensors do not work. They never dry the clothes adequately. The concept was good in that they are compact and have a large capacity, but the design does not work. I was lured in and unfortunately, there were no reviews at the time but I see that everyone shares my sentiments. The washer and dryer are just not any good. Thank you.

Bravos XL MCT model#MVWB835DW. Bought this new. After 2 weeks called Maytag. Washing machine did not work. I called off and on for 7 months to Maytag customer service. During this time they tried to do troubleshooting over the phone. Sent technician out. He said that there was problems with this model, that they were working on updates and would get back to me. 10 months after installation, technician came out. Washing machine worked, but still took 2 to 3 hours to wash one load of clothes. Started calling Maytag again. Washer now take 3 to 5 hours to wash load of clothes. You also have to do extra spin cycles (1 to 9 times) to get water out. A year later they send technician out. He tells me that this machine wasnt made to do loads larger than medium, that it cannot wash heavy items such as sweaters, sweatshirts, towels, blankets or comforters. That the normal cycle is not to be used. This is not a working function on this model. It is there because of regulations. Called back to Maytag. They said it was out of warranty and that there was nothing that they could do.

I am retired and have always had dogs in my life. My recent purchase of a new Maytag top loading washer has been very frustrating. There is barely enough water to measure in an oversize tub. The placard on the lid, and in the owner manual clearly show three levels of water. Each load takes twice the time as I am used to with my older Kenmore washer. I am forced to cut my loads in two or three, and use more water and energy to do a job that used to take less than half the time, water and electricity. I have had warranty repair to replace the control board twice, but nothing has changed. The repair techs both said there is one program on new washers, the knobs and settings do nothing, and recommended I get used to it. They explained the EPA is responsible for all changes to Protect consumers from harm. WHAT???I wish I had never bought this unit - if I could get my Kenmore back I would, in a hot minute! What a waste of a large tub to properly wash pet bedding and bedspreads/pillows, when there is only 3-4 inches of water! I wasted an entire paycheck, when I could have gotten my other unit repaired or rebuilt. I am seriously frustrated, I am searching for an older washer unit to get back to doing my laundry without being forced into a laundromat for pet bedding and larger items!!!

Maytag Bravos XL - I have always loved Maytag and never had any problems. In Feb we did some major remodeling with new flooring in our laundry room. Decided to buy a brand new washer and dryer even though our 10-year old Maytag washer and dryer worked perfectly fine. After looking at Home Depot and Lowes we first settled for a Samsung W & D but before it was delivered we shopped some more. After doing some inquiring we decided that we wanted to stick to a long trusted W & D line so we chose this washing mashing and matching dryer. From day one I decided I did not care for it. I found if I put too many clothes in that they did not come out clean. Any dark pants would come out with what looked to be soap or softener stains and would have to rewash 1 or 2 times. Now I can only put in about 4 pairs of pants to wash. I have been cleaning it once a month as the manual says to do but yesterday I noticed a terrible odor coming for the washer. I could smell it out in the hall. I did the cleaning again but still smell it. Now after searching the internet I find a video that shows the problem is mold under the drum. No amount of Affresh or bleach is going to clean something UNDER the drum. It is not my job to have to take this apart every few months and clean out mold and moldy water. Sounds like this problem has been going on for a few years and this should have been fixed long before this. I wish I had my old faithful washer and dryer back. Maybe I should have stuck to the Samsung washer and dryer.

We bought a new top of the line Maytag MGD7000XW dryer about 2 years ago. It worked great for about 6 months, thing started acting funny. All of the front console lights stay on all of the time and it ONLY dries on high heat now. This all happened after the warranty period. So fine, I was going to buy a new complete front console (CONSOLE Part Number: W10388467 $300.) as the online repairman suggested. Guess what, Maytag no longer offers the part to fix my dryer. The steam/heat produced by the oven has made the electronic (digital) control panel buckle. Yes! This is a thousand-dollar (plus) stove, and it has warped, through no fault of mine. When I want to cook something, I press the keypad to enter the number of cooking degrees that I want. The problem is, the control board is not working correctly. Regardless of my typing in 350, it will default to 100 degrees and stay at 100.As a teacher, I do not have a huge income. I was disgusted with my recent repair estimate of $80 for a service call, and a quote of over $600 for the replacement part, plus some not-yet-determined labor installation costs. Calling the 800 phone number for Maytag connected me to some local people working as independent and overpriced contractors in Los Angeles, California. They are not MAYTAG employees, so they are not well-informed about the product.I miss the time when manufacturers stood by their products, and had factory-trained and authorized employees available to make repairs. I bought this monster Maytag stove from Lowes. I am disgusted with both companies. I have gone online to research buying my own part and hiring a local yokel to put it in. Most everyone I have encountered has been a rip-off artist. I am teaching your kids and grand kids to read and write, and you dont want to help me repair my stove without price-gouging. I can use the burners to some stove-top cooking. Life has become a hassle without being able to cook.

Bravo Large Capacity Washer with Optimal Dispensers - 4.3 Cu. Ft. - The washers shortest cycles take at least an hour (not including having to do another spin/drain) and uses such little water that I have to use the extra rinse cycle on most loads. The washing machine is VERY hard on the clothes; towels (which I feel are pretty hardy) have been destroyed. Today the machine stopped draining/spinning completely and smelled like it was burning. I called the warranty number and was told it would be a week until someone could come out. When I tried to escalate a sooner repair date the manager Jessie refused to assist in any way insisting there was nothing he could do. I spent the morning calling my local repair shops and was able to find a Maytag warranty repair person to come out the same day, but had to call the warranty number again and have Maytag place the request. If I would have known a brand new washer was going to go bad after 2 years and cost me over $500 to repair, I would have gone with another brand, In fact, I will never buy a Maytag or Whirlpool. I will ensure that I tell everyone and post comments all over the website about how ** of a product Maytag/Whirlpool produces. Companies like these give the U.S. a bad name! Maytag, you suck!

Come on people are you serious! Im talking about all those people who give this washer great reviews or even mediocre reviews. This washing machine sucks! Thank God for the glass lid so you can see how terrible it washes. No water in this thing. Clothes that sit on the edge of the bowl do not agitate enough to be washed if there was water in the wash cycle. Bleach that you use in your white wash cycle is left over and gets onto your colored cycle if you wash it the color cycle next. I ** you not, mark my words that stains are left on clothes even in a cycle that has lots of water in it. If you think Im high or crazy take a look at your local Home Depot or Lowes store. Check the area for washing machines that are for sale that have been used. You will find this Maytag Bravos XL machine there. They look good and are practically brand new and they will be there for weeks on and because people return them if they get lucky to return them. I called my store and they refuse to take it back and told me to call the manufacturer. I did just that... I called the manufacturer and they told me they can send out a serviceman to check the washing machine. Butt...and a big butt, if they find nothing wrong with the washing machine that I will be charged a service fee. Bunch of **! For all of us that get stuck with this pile of garbage we can thank the tree huggers for trying to save the world with low water consumption water washing machines.

Maytag washer mvwc565fw: You have heard about how noisy they are & dont fill up enough water unless you set it on deep water wash. I cant get the right water temp. Its cold, cold warm. No hot at all. Sorry I ever bought the piece of junk. Only have had it a month too. The last washer I had it at least lasted 4 years. Wouldnt recommend it to my worst enemy.

I purchased these appliances on 02-10-16 from Home Depot in Loganville Ga., for almost $2000.00. I filed the first repair call less than 3 weeks after delivery. The sensor panel was bad and had to be replaced. Now 8 months later the washer is not starting, AGAIN. The dryer will only dry one load a day or you get the AF code. This means that the dryer cannot push air over 5 or so and we need to have a vent booster fan (an additional $200.00) installed plus have an electrician run a new outlet. I returned to Home Depot with my complaint. Feeling that I have an inferior product, they tried to get Maytag to make it right. Maytag refused to offer any solutions whatsoever. Home Depot refunded a little over $300.00 for my inconvenience. The washer is an absolute ill-conceived piece of junk. It is ROUGH on clothing and does not remove soap. I started out with brand new (expensive) towels when I purchased this machine and 8 months later all of the hems have been snatched off and theyre unraveling and falling apart and are slowly becoming car wash towels. You cannot wash delicates in this machine and allow it to spin. Underwires in bras are badly misshaped or broken completely. You cannot wear them afterwards without being gouged by bent wires. The only way around this is to take away the spin cycle, but you better be ready with a clean garbage can to haul the dripping clothes elsewhere and hung up to drip dry. The washer has NEVER removed all of the soap from bed sheets. I have a dark gray set that show the soap best. Now I have to wash once with soap then wash again with no soap. This negates the machines being efficient.Unfortunately, I found the negative reviews AFTER buying the machine. My complaints are well known to Maytag, seeing has to how the same complaints are found online as far back as 8 years ago. I have been brand loyal for 30+ years to Whirlpool and thought that I was moving up with a Maytag, based on my parents 50 year experience... I was wrong! I will never purchase another Maytag product nor Whirlpool since Whirlpool now owns Maytag. I have researched and am of the opinion that Speed Queen is a far better product and plan to junk this set and replace them with Speed Queen.

I purchased a Maytag Centennial Commercial Technology washer in September 2010 which is less than two years ago. It decides to stop spinning correctly in the Spin cycles. Clothes come out sopping wet so I contacted Maytag to have a tech come out. On the day that the tech came out from A&E Factory Service, he stated it was a switch. He changed the switch and still, it did not spin correctly. He then proceeds to state that it is another part, which again, it did not do the function correctly. He then proceeded to state that it is the clutch, then the transmission. The cost was raising to $519.00.I stated that I did not want to proceed because I would be purchasing a new washer with that quote. I stated to place all the original parts back onto the washer. He did so, but did not place them on correctly. The casing of the washer no longer is secured to the drum - bolts and plastic pieces are still on the side. He left my house with finger prints of grease on the walls. If this is the workmanship that Maytag recommends, then my business deserves to go elsewhere.A complaint was filed with the A&E Factory Service. However, no one has contacted me about the complaint as was requested. All I want is for my washer to be fixed or to have a tech who is knowledgeable to come out and fix it. I contacted Maytag to inform then of the situation and they stated that all their techs are certified. I do not believe that my washer of less than two years old could possibly have so many parts that are faulty. I hope that this may, in turn, help another consumer to avoid purchasing washers through Maytag and their parent company, Whirlpool.

We love our Maytag Dishwasher! It's very durable, doesn't use a lot of water and really gets our dishes exceptionally clean. The best part is that it sterilizes on the final cycle! We've long trusted any Maytag appliance in our families for generations.

MDB7749SBW - Purchased a new dishwasher from Home Depot & had them install it. It worked for 6 1/2 months & the control panel blinked & went dead. I did some research & found there were a lot of problems with the control panels & even a class action lawsuit. I went to Home Depot & they said contact Maytag & brushed me off. I set up a repair per warranty & all was fine for 10 months & same problem has happened again. I told them at Home Depot to replace the unit since nearly every repair job on the control panels prematurely fail again every time. I am going back to the Home Depot again. I do have older Maytag appliances that perform as required & I do know Lowes would have replaced the defective dishwasher.

After owning Maytag Model MHWE450WW01 for nine months, we had to have the bearing and drum replaced. It was down two weeks, and I missed two half days of work. Two weeks after being supposedly fixed, it is down again, belt out this time and I will be missing two half days of work again. After missing two days of work, I still have a piece of junk washing machine.

This is March 18, 2021. I bought a Maytag washer, model MHW5630HW2, which is their high end front load washer, in early July, 2020. The machine worked fine except that out of an available 10 cycles, only two would run. The seller, which was Sears, replaced it as defective. The second machine runs all the cycles but, though leveled carefully, it rattles, screeches, walks across the floor and generally seems to be trying to tear itself apart. The repair service replaced the shock absorbers in this new machine, after a six week wait for parts. This did nothing to fix the problem. The repairman finally just said he doesnt know how to fix it. After many patient hours on the phone with Maytag, they have said I have no recourse. The machine is under warranty and I purchased, for an extra $350, a five year warranty. Both warranties are useless. Maytag refuses to stand behind their product. I live in a small town in New Mexico. There is only one repairman. He cant fix it. Sooo...if you live in a small town, or dont want to spend endless fruitless hours with repair people or on the phone with Maytag, who will ultimately tell you they just cant help you, DONT BUY THIS MACHINE.
