We purchased a new Maytag washer and dryer from Home Depot; a couple months
We purchased a new Maytag washer and dryer from Home Depot; a couple months later the dryer started to rattle so we contacted Maytag and they sent a service tech out who stated this was normal as the dryer was settling and parts are not as tight as they are when new. This was a garbage response and he was asked to leave. I contact Maytag again, told them of the problem and the tech response and they offered to send another tech out except I would have to pay for the service call since they already sent someone out. I sent them an audio file of the rattle, no reply. Eventually Home Depot ended up replacing the dryer as Maytag refused to help me despite it being in the warranty period.

We purchased Bravos series Maytag washer and dryer. These are a match pair, the top loader, extra large capacity, very top of the line, $$$$$. The washer has already been replaced after many repairs, but the replacement new Maytag leaves a powdered gray residue on all the clothes because of the small amount of water it puts in the washer tub. Even on the deep water cycle, if I put in a blanket it will come out of the washer half dry where water has never reached it. This washer is the worst I have ever seen and cost top dollar. Maytag says nothing wrong but when I show them the powdered residue on the clothes they refuse to answer. This is the worst engineered washer ever, tangles the clothes terribly, does not clean the clothes and usually forces you to wash them twice to removed the soap residue left on them. I have tried every soap on the market, stacked clothing as Maytag suggested, tried various tricks Maytag has suggested, but nothing stops the grey soap residue. This washer cost almost a $1,000 for just the washer, it is a disaster. I have asked Maytag to refund my money but they refuse. If anyone else has their washer - we need to join in a class action lawsuit to force Whirlpool, maker of Maytag to replace this piece of garbage!!!

In the winter of 2007, we remodeled our kitchen and bought all new Maytag appliances. They cost a little more but we felt that we were getting a good quality product. Within months, the handle on the freezer became loose and I had to call for a repairman to tighten it. He told me we should buy the extended warranty because only a trained repairman could fix the handle. That turned out to be untrue thankfully because if it was true, I would have to call for repair at least once a month. The handle is constantly coming loose. A few months later, the microwave would turn on when the door was closed. I called repair as it was still under warranty. After he removed and replaced the door, I was told that we have to be careful when we close the microwave. There was nothing he could do to stop the problem. Approximately three years after we purchased the appliances, we had a problem with the dishwasher. We could only use one function; the others would not work. We were told by the technician that we got water into the door where the controls are and ruined the motherboard. I never heard anything so absurd. I have had a dishwasher in the same place for 25 years with no mishap. The cost of repair was $800. A few months later, we had a problem with the large burner on our cooktop. The outer coils heat up but the inner coils do not. I have yet to call for repair because I do not trust Maytag. Now, our microwave does not work. My husband used it to make popcorn with no problem. A little while later, I tried to heat a cup of coffee and it would not heat. The keypad works, the light comes on in the microwave but the motor does not run. Needless to say, we are very unhappy and will never buy another Maytag appliance. I wish I would have read the reviews before we purchased the appliances. Two of our friends had their kitchens remodeled at the same time we did and they have not had any problems with their appliances. But they didnt buy Maytag. I guess thats why.

I purchased a new Maytag dishwasher model MDB7609AWB1 approximately 2yrs ago from Sears. We purchased quite a few new appliances from them and they are always helpful. Within the first year, right after the warranty was up, it stopped working. No lights on the power panel. I called Sears, out of warranty, sorry. Said they would give me a deal on the repair. Sears came out, replaced the computer. $230.00. 6 months later, it stops working again. I go on line to look up these models and sure enough a lot of people are having the same issues. I did some of the checks that they said to do and found my plastic door latch was broken. A little plastic arm that actuates the switches broke. Should have been made of metal. I replace it myself, very easy, by the way. So I figure, in another 8 months it will prob break again. They run anywhere from $19.00-$30.00. 2 days ago power panel and light, not working again. I called Sears and asked them if they were having issues with the power panels that this was the second time in less than 2 years, and if there were any recalls, they said no. I guess they dont follow their reviews, but according to google reviews, its a major problem with most of them. Maytag, Whirlpool, and Amanda. Ordered a new panel today, again they are $141 from Sears but if you shop, you can get a new one for less than $85.00. If you have any kind of mechanical skills, you can replace it in less than 20 mins. It just seems to me that this big companies have let their quality control go and are more concerned about the profit. There should be a recall on these. Do Not buy a Maytag/Whirlpool dishwasher, they are total junk. Sorry Maytag, you lost another customer.

It seems there is a little opening around the rim of the barrel in the back of my dryer that drawstrings, zippers or similar small parts of the clothes can get stuck in. I purchased 4 new Maytag appliances as part of a kitchen update. The dishwasher was the first to fail, less than a year after being installed. The control panel stopped working (random lights would come on, always different from the one being pressed, and frequently incompatible selections such as Rinse Only and Sanitize. PC Richards sent a repairman with a new part, no charge. A few weeks ago, it happened again. PC Richards says that replacement parts are only under warranty for 90 days, so now the repair is on me. I could pay or repair it myself or pay PC Richards to do it. Thank goodness I am handy, but I still have to pay for the part. Now I am reading that the MDB7749 series has a history of this problem. When is Maytag going to own up and issue free repairs? I certainly will never buy Maytag again, as both the range and the refrigerator also have common problems. Luckily, I paid for the 10-year service agreement on those appliances.

So sad, purchased brand new Maytag washer and dryer, Commercial technology
So sad, purchased brand new Maytag washer and dryer, Commercial technology (MVWB766FW) labels. Looked and appeared impressive. Machines cost almost $1,000 each. Had twenty year old machines that still worked, I didn’t want to face a unexpected breakdown and decided to replace. What a mistake. I’m 67 and all my life from grandma through my mother Maytag was the best, not anymore. Once my equipment was installed I washed a load checking frequently, noticed almost no water in the huge tub and my clothes being beat by the agitator but not enough water to move the clothes. I tried to change to high water setting but had to cancel this load to do so. Once on high water setting I started the load again, water still very low and agitator just rubbing the clothes directly next to it, no movement of the clothes at all. Ran completely through the wash cycle but when moving to the dryer noticed some light blue shorts had dry spots, many, which had never been wet even through the wash, rinse, and spin cycles. Had a warranty service call and was told this is how the machines work. I told the serviceman had I known that I would have never bought the machines. He told me the salesman should have explained this to me which he did not. The only way I can wash my clothes in the new, expensive machine is on bedding cycle with high water setting on. Sad day when American companies can legally sell such crap. Also, called the company where I purchased and ask about return. To that I was told once I made the purchase they were mine and Reid’s Appliance in Santa Barbara didn’t take returns. Reid’s Appliance can’t be trusted. Buyer Beware, this stuff is junk. I will be throwing these machines out soon as they aren’t even sale-able on the used market. MAYTAG RIPPED ME OFF.

Bought this Bravo washer from a Sears Outlet Store. Had trouble the first 2 weeks and did all the troubleshooting to no avail. Just when I was ready to return it to the store I decided to try one more thing. The guys who hooked it up had reversed the water hoses - cold was hooked up to the hot intake, and hot water was hooked up to the cold intake. Took all of 5 minutes to switch the hoses to the correct intake and the machine works like a charm. MAKE SURE THE WATER IS HOOKED UP CORRECTLY.

The serial number is MDB8979SBWD. Just a few months before warranty expired the buttons were being flaky. Eventually it would not start. We brought it to the dealer because they wanted $150 to come to the house. They replaced the front panel. It lasted less than a year and stopped working again. Being out of warranty and being a technician I took off the panel and saw that there was no insulation in so the humidity would build up. The wires in the ribbon wire were corroded. I looked up the price of the panel and it was $150. The dealer wanted $150. I did not want to replace it because of the possibility that was not the only problem. We paid $400 for it on sale, (a mistake I know better than to buy stuff on close outs.) FYI to get the dealer to deal with it it would cost $300! From reading these complaints this panel seems to be a real problem with this and Maytag is not supporting this LEMON. I see a lawsuit here. Too bad Maytag is only out for profit. What is disappointing is that Maytag is owned by Whirlpool. Whirlpool has or used to have good appliances. We had a microwave that lasted 15 years and our last dishwasher that lasted 15 years. We will never buy Maytag or Whirlpool again. Maytag is junk. The dishwasher is probably ok except for the panel. Shame to get rid of it for that but unless I can bypass it that is what we will have to do. $150 is too much for a gamble and it seems that panel is a problem so it probably would not last long anyway.

I purchased a Maytag Bravos XL at the end of June 2013 because my washer of 14 years finally quit. On the 2nd load of laundry I ran, the machine began making a terrible grinding noise. It sounds as if I am washing a load of rocks while its on the wash cycle. I immediately called the local store I purchased it from and they sent a technician out to look at the machine. He couldnt figure out why it was making this noise, so he called Maytags techs for assistance. They had him run a battery of tests and they finally determined they needed to replace the motor. Are you kidding me? On a brand new machine?! Now Im thinking I have a lemon for sure. They replaced the motor and the machine continues to make the same noise. Ive called Maytags Customer Service to let them know about the garbage theyre producing and all I got was attitude. The warranty only covers parts and does not replace machines, so Im stuck in the song and dance of lets try to figure this out and see how they can make this piece of junk work. I then asked to speak to a manager. She offered me a 6 month extended warranty for free. I guess thats a big sign that Im going to need it since what they are producing is garbage. Whatever happened to customer satisfaction? Its now just the too bad attitude. Now, I feel like Im being held hostage by my machine because I have to take time off of work for appointments with service technicians. Wheres Maytags compensation for my time and the hassle of having to deal with this? I paid $1000 for something and I guess its too much to ask for it to actually work. I am all for buying American (the machine had a sticker, proudly made in Ohio) but if this is the quality of work that they are producing they should be embarrassed to work for this company. I will never buy a Maytag again and am making it my mission to warn others of my expensive mistake!

My Maytag (MDBH955AWB) dishwasher (not even 6 years old) is losing its prongs that help the dishes to stand up. They are corroded at the bottom and snap right off, leaving the dishes without support and banging into each other. We are only a family of 3 so it gets moderate to minimal use. The bottom basket costs $200 to replace, a third of the cost of a brand new dishwasher. Everything else about it is fine but my dishes will be chipping away. I cant believe Maytag made the basket so poorly that it doesnt last the lifetime of the dishwasher.

Then in May 2011, we had to replace another control board for about $400. Then in July 2011, the compressor went out at a cost of $300 for the compressor, $350 for labor. I called to Maytag, Gwen agreed to pay for the compressor but not the labor to put it in. So we now have about $1400 invested in our $2200 refrigerator. I purchased a new Maytag dishwasher (model #MDB4651awb3) for $300, in December of 2009. Seven months later, the dishwasher refused to start. Some lights on the front panel would remain on, while others would not respond. The Maytag repairman made a house call and replaced the front control panel, and vent. After the repair, the dishwasher worked fine for nine months. Then, the same thing happened again. It refused to start with the same front panel light problem. I called Maytag, and since the machine was now past the one year warranty, they wanted $275 for an additional 1 year warranty, to repair the machine. Since I can buy a similar new machine for $25 more, and felt this was now an ongoing problem, (it would be the third panel in less than two years). I expected Maytag to offer more to take care of their lemon problem. Since they refused to reconcile the situation, they obviously no longer stand by their machines. I will no longer buy Maytag/ Whirlpool machines, and do not recommend them.

The service providers stated that it really doesnt work and there is nothing they can do about it. The front of my oven, above the vent, is stained from the oven exhaust. They said there is nothing they can do about that either. The last service company that came out for a service call to check the oven temperature came without the proper tool to check the temperature and ended up snapping the propane line. Getting a F51 code and after going on YouTube and checking for problems it seems to say the same code after it works for a bit. This is the worse appliance I have ever purchased. I am so frustrated and will never purchase a Maytag anything again. Never did in the past up to this one and never will after this one.

I purchased the Bravos XL washer and dryer combo 2 years ago. Dryer is fine, but washer was EXTREMELY noisy from day 1 and has gone downhill since. It would leak during spin cycle and frequently stop due to unbalanced load, refill and stop again. Now it wont spin at all! We have checked to make sure it is level, it is. I live in a very rural area and its very difficult to get repairmen to come out. This is my first and last Maytag for me.

Maytag french door bottom freezer model #MFF2558VEB5 - It stinks to read all the similar problems Ive had with my unit. Purchased Nov 2011. Problems started within a year. First minor, deli drawer broke. I use clear duck tape to operate it and that has been fine. But not acceptable. About a year ago the water leak out of bottom freezer was noticed. The bottom inside is frozen sheet. I break up and manually remove quite often. NOTE: I intentionally do not use, did not install, the ice maker - historically they are poor risk so I dont bother. The ice unit is in the machine but not installed. I assume my water build up which freezes on bottom related to poor design of defrost drain and that is supported by other comments here. I find it disgusting. Live and learn. Its B.S.

Bought this Maytag Bravos Washer online from Lowe’s in the holiday season
Bought this Maytag Bravos Washer online from Lowe’s in the holiday season of December 2017 because my previous Maytag HE washer broke after 17 years. I have had nothing but issues with this washer right from the start. The clothes do not come clean as I find myself putting them through the wash cycle two or three times to have them washed and come somewhat clean. The clothes come out soaking wet that I have to put them through the rinse and spin cycle at least one or two more times. I called Lowe’s to complain about this washer and they said they only have a 30 day return policy and they would be happy to call for service for me. I told them it didn’t work from the start but they didn’t care. So now, sadly, I have a repairman coming this week to fix my new washer, And hopefully he can fix it that I can use it and it can properly wash clothes. I wish I would have her read the reviews on Consumer Affairs about this washer before purchasing this Maytag. Not happy with Maytag. I would have never bought it and bought a different brand. Codes appear on the face of the washer better. Nowhere in the manual that I had to personally download myself because it didn’t come with one. And oh did I mention that I need a step ladder to reach into the bottom of the tub? This washer should come yellow because it is definitely a lemon!

We purchased a Maytag washer model MVWC400XWO almost 2 years ago and it has problems with the bearings and the whole computer board is defective. I was told to buy the extended warranty for $350, which we did. As of today, we were told by extended warranty they are refunding our money because there are so many things wrong with this washer, including the whole computer board, that it would cost them too much to fix or replace it. Im in complete shock. We paid well over $500 and are still making payments on it. I spent the day reading hundreds of reviews from people with these exact same problems and Maytag is aware of it and will not help. They should not be selling these anymore. Im completely sick to my stomach. I cant afford another washer and when I called Maytag, they said it was past the year and we are out of luck. I cant believe this can happen to people and they get away with it. A washer should last longer than 2 yrs. There are hundreds of people going through this with Maytag and no one will help.

My mom decided to splurge on a new Maytag Bravos washing machine and matching dryer thinking that at age 80 the machine would outlast her. But no. After 4 years and just past the warranty, the timer started going crazy. The repairman recommended a $250 motherboard and $90 pump and $500 labor (yes he is next on my list) and it still does not work. I WILL get her money back for the repair and we will NOT be getting a bravos to replace it.

So the reviews for the Bravos MCT online were pretty decent. We purchased our set from Lowes. However, the clothes dont turn over. I watched as long as I could (getting frustrated the longer I watched) to see how the clothes were going to get turned over and washed. All they did was get rubbed on the bottom of the pile where those agitator fins are. But they never got a good flipping so that the top of the pile was washed. I only had 4 normal size towels in there. So it isnt like I had too many clothes. So I called Maytag to tell them what I was observing and the gentlemen explained that it was counter-intuitive technology and that it seems like they wont come clean but he promised me by the time the load was done they would be clean. Yet - they did not come clean! The dirt on the towel was still there on the top of the load with dog hair. NOT TO MENTION SUDS!! Im so disappointed because the burden is on me to either take this set back or deal with it. Buyer beware - if you look at this machine and ask yourself how in the world will the clothes get clean - you are asking a great question! They dont!!

I bought the larger capacity machines to save time because Im so busy with my family and wanted to cut down on loads. I was surprised to find the capacity can really only operate at half, which is as large as my old, smaller machines. The washer is extremely sensitive, meaning it may take four or five tries (this morning was four) to arrange the clothes - even a small load of delicates - in it in the exact way the machine wants before it will allow the cycle to start. This is exceptionally frustrating, particularly during the busy morning or when you are tired at night. So you have to stand there and wait until the sensing function is happy and you see the water pouring in. Yet often you will return to the machine and it will have an error message that occurs inexplicably during the spin cycle, so the wash cycle will need to be restarted. It cannot just be continued. The machine is not only a huge time waster but a water/detergent waster as well.I learned that the sensing function on the dryer is useless as well after coming back to many loads of damp clothes that sat there, got little funny smelling as a result, and had to be rewashed in the nightmare washer lol. So now I just use the timer function. It takes about two hours to dry a regular load of towels, so be prepared for that. I bought Maytag because it is an American-made product, but I wont make the same mistake next time. If the quality is any reflection of the functionality, it probably wont last very long anyway. Heres to hoping.

Dishwasher Control Panel MDB7749AWM2 - Purchased unit on 11/22/2011. June of 2014 my start button stopped working, and after searching online I guess I consider myself lucky. Spent 38 minutes on Maytag consumer service site speaking to a rep who walked me thru a reset that did not help and then explained that my machine was no longer under warranty and $149 for the service call and the cost of the part assuming it was a control panel would total over $250 on a machine I spent $500 on. I spoke to a supervisor who was only willing to sell me a control panel at 50% off and do it yourself, and while they claim there are no consumer issues with this part, they stated that the warranty on the part is only 90 days. I told them this was the last Maytag/Whirlpool/KitchenAid appliance I would purchase and they did not seem to care so I will be moving on to another dishwasher since I will not invest $250 in a fix of an item that they will only stand by for 90 days!

I have never given anything a negative review before, but this, by far, the absolute worst appliance I’ve ever had in my entire life. I bought it because I had an old leaky washer, but I’d take it back in a heartbeat because it could ACTUALLY wash my clothes. We spent a lot of money on this washer because we wanted something really nice that would actually work, but this washer is no better than me throwing my clothes in the sink and turning the water on. I’ve tried every kind of detergent and pretreatment that I could possibly try, and nothing helped because the actual machine don’t do nothing. Shirts come out still coated in mud, and half the load is dry??? Please, save your money, get your washer somewhere else. And I hate to even give this thing 1 star because it ain’t even worth that.

Purchased Maytag MDBH979AWW serial #FY4202009 from Lowes October 30, 2009. Control panel went out after warranty, and we replaced it. It quit working again in May 2012, and we replace the control panel, and then in November 2013 it quit and we replaced the control panel along with a new door latch just to be sure on December 4, 2013. The dishwasher quit working mid-cycle a couple of weeks ago only 9.5 months since we replaced the last control panel. Im fairly certain it is the control panel again. We have paid more to replace control panels for this dishwasher than we paid for the original appliance. There should be a recall and compensation on this issue. Very disappointed that Maytag and Whirlpool do not resolve this issue. We will be buying a different dishwasher, and it will not be Maytag or Whirlpool.

We bought a new Maytag Bravo washing machine last spring. It was easy to understand the instructions, but that is all that was good about it. Like everyone is saying. It doesnt wash the clothes completely. On every dark load I have what looks like streaks of lint. I contacted Maytag. They gave me suggestions for solutions. None of them worked. I have put the clothes on for a second rinse and spin and it got out some of the lint. Also. they are evidently spun so hard in the washer, after they come out of the dryer they are a wrinkled mess. All the wash and wear, which is almost everything we own, is wrinkled. I have to iron every item. Never again a Maytag for us. If there is a class action suit, I want in on it.

Maytag Centennial washer - Bought this washer brand new and after the first 2 months started having issues. The washer took FOREVER to fill and to complete a basic load took literally an hour or more. Then within the next 7 months it stopped spinning out the final spin cycle. Spin light would flash as would lid lock but wouldn’t spin the water so I had to manually unplug the machine then plug in out cycle on drain and spin and that worked 50 percent of the time. Repairman came out and said could be a number of issues but he said honestly it would cost me a lot less to just go buy a new washer! This is INSANE! I grew up with the Maytag repairman commercials and thought Maytag was still top of the line but LEMME TELL YA, IT AINT! I have had and worked on many washing machines over the years. The worst design and complete failure of parts to easily align in Maytag front end washers is nothing short of staggering. Creating a tension wire to wrap a rubber seal that requires Hercules to install and easily tears the rubber is beyond ridiculous. I must say I haven’t had any issues with the dryer. Works great. The washer on the other hand is garbage!! It barely cleans the clothes. Some articles only get partially wet. Everything tangles together. The worst part is all my dark clothes ends up full of dust and lint. They look dirtier coming out than when they went in. Very disappointed. If you use deep load it takes about 1 1/2hrs to wash, definitely not energy efficient, and clothes still have lint on both cycles, and unfortunately most of our clothes need to be hung up, so dryer can’t pick up the lint. My old wash was way better. I shoulda went for same old style. Save you money and buy another brand.

I have always hated soft touch control panels so I purchased a Maytag Dishwasher with old style push buttons. IT DID NOT CLEAN THE DISHES, so Lowes took it back and I was convinced to UPGRADE to an MDB7749SBB0 and was told this machine was top of the line, although it was VERY temperamental from the start. I guess I should have done my homework. I see now several complaints about the control panels not working. I was told that MAYTAG was a very reputable company and that they stand behind their product. WRONG!. The company KNOWS these panels have problems and should replace them free of charge as it is obviously a defect. Nope, first they offer to send someone out (In a week) to repair it at $80 just to look at it and the panel is over $100 to replace, and when I complained they tried to sell me extra coverage for $250. REALLY? What is the purpose of purchasing a QUALITY dishwasher? I might as well purchase a cheap dishwasher and replace it when it breaks. I think you should be responsible for your product when you have several complaints on a specific part.

Purchased a new Maytag washer top load/Dryer set on April 1, 2016. Having trouble uploading receipt but I paid 1,145.83 for set. It took 2 weeks to get it delivered on April 15. 1st use it shook and wobbled even though the load was balanced but Ive read that is a problem with these machines. 1st load of clothes, washer didnt fill with enough water to wash properly - 3-4 inches of water for a full load of jeans. Top 2/3 of clothes hardly got wet! Changed the setting, same problem. Changed the setting again, same problem. I had to stand at washing machine and keep lifting the lid to get more water in the machine. Clothes didnt rotate in machine so all the clothes on top half didnt get cleaned. The spin cycle is scary! You could hear clunking noises and it had nothing to do with load being balanced. Did a small load and same thing with water level and spin cycle. Called Home Depot to pick up both machines on next business day. The dryer lint trap is so long, it made a mess trying to remove the lint even after only 1 load. NEVER AGAIN MAYTAG! Let me describe my new normal procedure for laundering a load of clothes. First, load the washer with clothes then press power/cancel then press rapid wash let the clothes get HOPEFULLY saturated with water then hit hold to start and then hit power/cancel this shuts off the washing machine. I then press power/cancel again and select normal and the water empties out of the washing machine from the prior load and then starts to refill, if the add a garment light comes on (when it wants too) and no I dont change any pre-set settings I am able to add extra water with a pitcher, if this procedure works I let the washer run its 1-hour and 48-minute cycle. If not, I have to start over again because the add garment light wouldnt come on to allow the door to unlock. After the clothes are finished I again press power/cancel then hit rapid wash put my fabric softener in the dispenser press hold to start and let it run its 36-minute cycle making sure my clothes are rinsed appropriately and not stiff because of the lack of water. I neglected to say that when Ive tried tricking the washer and think I am able to add extra water, if Ive added too much the sensing kicks in and the washing machine drains all the water out on its own and refills with the little water it allows! Which is maddening! I throw up my hands and sit down and cry!!! I have contacted Maytag/Whirlpool complaining about the lack of water and their wacky water sensor! I asked them how can you conserve water and electricity when you have to wash your clothes over and over with long wash cycles? This doesnt make sense! My white clothes are now dingy and stiff as well as the colored. Maytag says you can use powdered detergents if its HE High Efficiency powdered detergents, but thats not true. The detergent doesnt dissolve and ends up on the clothes at the end of the long wash cycle because of the lack of water! From the beginning I adjusted the amount of powdered detergent for the front load washer and have to dissolve it in hot water prior to washing and hopefully am able to add it to the clothes if the add a garment will let me! I have now resorted to extra cycles to rinse out any remaining detergent hoping my clothes will be soft and fresh smelling. I had planned to replace my old Maytag agitator washing machine with this piece of junk front loader, fortunately we kept our old washing machine as a back up!

This so called high efficiency washing machine, and others like it are absolutely awful. They do not properly clean clothes. I frequently have to put loads of clothes through two or even three times in order to get things cleaned properly which our old washer did easily in one wash. That is the exact opposite of efficient. It is so bad that it actually borders on being a genuine scam. Do not buy! Huge waste of money.

I purchased the Maytag Bravos washer and dryer set one year ago, and have asked myself why ever since. The oversized laundry tub is what attracted me to the model, but it sure doesnt deliver for the money it cost. On normal settings, it doesnt use enough water for all the clothes to even get wet. After the load was complete, there were areas of my clothes bone dry, and obviously still dirty. I soon learned that the only way the washer uses enough water to get all the clothes wet and clean, was to set the machine on the bulky setting. This is the only setting I use now, but all of my clothes winds up twisted together, sometimes in one big ball. As for efficiency, that statement folks is a joke! Because I use the bulky setting, it uses much more water than a traditional washer ever did, and when the load is off balanced, it will go through another rinse cycle to try to even it out. This machine uses far more water and electricity than my old school set! I suppose if you dont get your clothes dirty, you may not need to use the bulky setting, but thats the only way I can wash my laundry with this machine. The old style set I had before this was Maytag also, and lasted about 20 years. I was more than happy to purchase Maytag again, but this set has been nothing but a disappointment. I dont plan to buy another energy efficient machine again, nor would I recommend this product to anyone!

Bought a Maytag washer MVWC415EW in 4/2015. We dont use the washer heavily but over that time span the paint on the top cover and the side where the cover comes down has bubbled up. It looks like a bad rash but only on a washer. I think the company used inferior paint which can bubble up with the heat of the hot water during the wash cycle. I called the company but they do not cover cosmetic items on the warranty. I think since this was a flaw in the paint used they should at least replace the cover portion which would be an easy fix. Maytags are not what they use be! Last Maytag lasted 17 years with no paint problems or mechanical problems.

My washing machine is 2 1/2 years old. It is not overused, just 2 people in the household. Maytag wanted to sell me a contract for $320, I declined. After research I see that this machine has many complaints against it. I bought Maytag because they never need repair. I would like Maytag to fix this machine without charge or recall the machine. From what I have read, these machines are defective. The electronics are failing at 2 to 3 years.

I purchased a Maytag model 4000 Front Loading washer in April 2010 and in May 2011, the tub bearings went out which is a $600 repair. Now in January of 2012, the tub bearings are going out again. Neither Lowes nor Maytag are willing to do anything to remedy the situation. Do not buy Maytag and do not buy from Lowes. Their major appliance buyer has to know about this and continues to retail a product not fit for its intended purpose.

Maytag Bravo Washer and Dryer - We are usually review writers. I just felt it was our duty to help others save their hard-earned dollars and not purchase this product. We have owned this expensive and highly researched set for a bit over 2 years. We have had to have repairmen out a half dozen times for dryer repairs. The washer was purchased with the largest tub because I wanted to be able to wash a full load of sheets or a blanket. NOT!!! It gets off balanced, twists every single item (as in blue jeans, towels, soft t-shirts, etc...any weight or size) into a huge mess and has actually ruined some of my clothing. The dryer gives me error messages all the time. I am beyond words with my disappointment. We saved a long time for this set and now are absolutely stuck for a long time before we can replace. You know Maytag my message to you is that hard-working people used to trust your company name. I have been married 43 years and we keep our purchases for many years. I have never in all these years been so disappointed in the huge purchase we made thinking it was a lifetime investment. Now I am doing everything I can to save this year so maybe can replace it down the road as soon as we can. I am telling you people reading this... DO NOT BUY THIS SET. IT IS A TOTAL WASTE OF YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY.

Bought a new Maytag High Efficiency washer. I followed the directions closely, using the proper type and amount of soap, and the proper settings for the soil level. The clothes come out of the washer smelling almost the same way they went in. I contacted Maytag by email. Their response was to send me instructions on how to operate the washer. I responded again. Their response was basically Sucks to be you. This is the worst washer Ive ever owned, and the customer service is truly awful.

Purchased our Maytag Bravo Quiet Series 300 about 5 years ago and came to this site to read about other washing machine complaints because I am looking for a new washer. Was SHOCKED to hear so many similar complaints to mine (our local appliance store who sold us this unit, as well as services it, said this was unusual). Tiny holes in all our clothes! Black marks on clothes! Dirty clothes! LOUD & BUMPY washing - will sometimes walk itself around the laundry room, slamming into wash sink & dryer (there are dents to prove the violence). UL light that stops the machine & cant be resolved even after I untangle & lift water-soaked items. Finally started seeing black marks splattering out from under machine & was told the bearing is bad and the case (?) is leaking? ... Anyway, result to repair is MORE THAN ITS WORTH.Also have a 3 year old Maytag Quiet Series 300 DISHWASHER, that does not clean well, sometimes leaves half the dishes untouched (dry & dirty), grinds food waste & redistributes onto dishes before baking it on tight (requires soaking to loosen, then wash by hand) ... Oh, and is NOT quiet! I was told I probably use TOO MUCH SOAP. Seriously?!? My complaint is NOT soap residue ... It is D.I.R.T. How can you run a load and still have sauce & ketchup that dripped onto the inside of the door when loading the dishwasher STILL on the inside of the door??? Darn thing cant even clean itself!

We purchased the HE commercial brand for our family of 7. It has been running mostly fine for about 2 1/2 years. It started making a horrible grinding noise about 3 months ago. It was getting worse and worse. I decided to google the issue and discovered there was a common problem with a nut falling off the bottom. I leaned the washer back and found the nut on the floor, right below the center of the pulley. I reattached it by removing the pulley guard which had been getting cut by the loose and wobbly pulley, put some superglue on the nut and reattached it to the bottom. NO MORE NOISE!! Im willing to bet that this has caused slippage of the pulley, poor performance and many other issues. Maytag should do something about it.

Bravo XL - I purchased this dryer in June 2012. In October, the first thermostat was replaced, again in February 2013 and two within a week from March 8th and March 12th. I was told it was my vent. However, the appliance continually showed venting good. I was told to have it cleaned. I did and it is documented that there was great air flow before and after and only a handful of lint collected. I have spoken with Whirlpool and no one will have the integrity or courage to say it may be a faulty unit. I will never purchase another Whirlpool product. I had spent nearly $5,000.00 in Whirlpool appliances in June of 2012. I feel they will cover any issues until the warranty is completed, and then the problems are mine and at my expense.

Like all of the other reviews, I have had this microwave less than two years and it won’t run and reads “door open”. I am filing with the Better Business Bureau as the product advertises “partS” under 10 year under warranty when in reality it is one part with a VERY limited warranty. In order to determine if my issue was covered under warranty I would need to pay $189 not including parts in labor. I called several times and customer service indicated that they had never heard of this issue (which upon looking at this site seems hard to believe) and I would need to gamble the $189 to see if it was covered. Terrible product, terrible customer service.

Brand new top of the line top loader washer. Lid locked mid cycle and couldn’t open it. Called Maytag. Sent a repairman out to fix. Three trips later, 5 parts, and over four months later, still broken. Unable to use washing machine. Been going to laundromat to do laundry. When speaking with Maytag, all you get is a sorry. Now I’m waiting on another part and then schedule another appointment to have guy come install. Maytag would rather replace every part, one at a time, than send a new washer. It is beyond ridiculous for a new washer to have to have all of its parts replaced. It’s a hunk of junk and Maytag will not stand by their product. Worthless company. Will NEVER buy another product from them. Their washer and their service is so far below standards, it’s criminal.

Like many people here, I have a Maytag Dishwasher Model # MDB7749SBW3 Serial # F40107007. We have had this dishwasher for about 12 months to 18 months. The first indication that there was a problem was some of the lights were acting strange. Then the dishwasher starting going nuts. I removed power from the unit thinking that maybe the controller became confused. The problem persisted. I would hit buttons and either nothing would happen or something completely different would happen.I take the dishwasher door apart and remove the touch pad. I notice some discoloration on the ribbon cable. I remove the glued on front panel to look at the electronics behind it (see pictures) and I see some discoloration there as well. So using my multimeter, I find that there is a direct short between pins 4 and 5. I vigorously flex the cable at the point of discoloration and the short goes away. So at this point, I doubt that I can get just the flexible circuit strip so Im going to have to pop for a new touch pad assembly. I didnt go further in the measurements as there was no point since I already detected one failure. Furthermore, I inspected the computer control unit and I did not see any obvious signs of corrosion or discoloration anywhere on the processor board. So it appears that there is no problem with it.Conclusion: Many people are at a disadvantage when it comes to electronic devices. In my professional opinion, this is clearly a failure of the insulating material of the ribbon cable due to environmental contamination. Visual inspection shows that corrosion of the conductors is clearly evident. About Me: I have been an electronics technician on and off for over 20 years now. I have a 2-year college degree in electronics technology and I am currently in school to become an electrical engineer. In my house, when something breaks, I fix it.

We purchased the MMV4205DS over the range microwave in June of 2015 & installed it in July the same year. We purchased the matching range & a dishwasher at the same time as they were running a promo of $150 rebate if all 3 were purchased. They denied us of $50 of the rebate & stated that all of the paperwork was not submitted on time. We received rebates on 2 of the appliances & paperwork for all. 3 were in the same mailing. Hmmm. We were told a 3rd party handles their rebate program. So much for taking ownership. I have a Maytag dishwasher model mdb6759aws3. The control touch pad broke after 1.5 years of light use. It costs $475 to fix (includes labor). Completely unacceptable service provided by Maytag over the phone. The only concession offered was a 25% discount if I bought the replacement part (control touch pad) from them. After some internet research, I learned Maytag marks up their parts prices over 25% so they are really not giving you a discount at all.I filed a complaint with Maytag but they were unable to provide me with any evidence of doing such except for an 11-digit code. Due to a major defect, Maytag should have sent me the replacement part for free. I told Maytag I thought this was fair and that I would pay for the labor. I will never buy another Maytag appliance again! They are junk and the company does not practice common sense customer service.

I have a 50/50 chance of completing a wash cycle. Most times, the washer stops working at 8 minutes remaining in ANY cycle. The washer will leave me with wet clothing and refuses to spin even when most wet, dripping articles are removed. I have tried to put all light-weight items together and that still is not a guarantee that I can get this done in one cycle. Most often, the error code comes up, I spin the drum around, move the clothing around and try again. This process is NOT energy efficient which is why I bought the ** thing in the first place. I am ready to put it on the curb for the trash man to pick up.We had a service person out and he said it is either the bearings or the motor (both a $400 job). I will NEVER buy another front-loading washing machine. At least with the old-fashioned top loaders you can get the load balanced and at least get clothing to go through the spin cycle. I am now hand-wringing clothing once again since the machine tells me when it will spin my clothing. That stupid chime is about to send me out of my mind!

Bought the Maytag MDSH969AWS1 in Dec. 2010, and it quit after 4 and 1/2 years. Ironically, replaced a perfectly good 20 year old GE model that ran great for this piece of junk. I tried to diagnose the problem: the washer fills, but when the cycle is supposed to start it just hums. Then you have to drain it. So I think the problem is the motor or capacitor. The parts are stupidly overpriced, and Im not even sure if that is the problem. It could also be the electronics board (Ive heard of the problems with these on this brand). So instead of risking wasted time and parts Im junking this, er, piece of junk. The stainless steel door was rusting on the bottom too. American made crap! Bought a fancy Samsung to replace it, and will NEVER buy Maytag again. Im old enough to recall the lonely Maytag repairman -- Itd give him a swift kick in the rear for being associated with such a shoddy brand. Maytag, its the Dodge-Jeep of appliances.

My washing machine was noisy from the start. We had recently purchased a new fridge and were told when we questioned its noise thats just the way they are. So we didnt question the noisy washer as we should have. The noise got louder as time went on and at the 18 month mark, it was so bad, we had someone look at it. The washer had never cleaned as well as expected, but again, we were too busy to follow up. The repairman advised that the bearing and tub needed to be replaced! Augh! $450 for parts $300 for labour! I contacted Maytag/Whirlpool and was advised they would go good for the parts, I would have to pay labour. Not being terribly impressed, did a bit of research and was told it was worth fixing. As it was technically out of warranty, I was lucky to have them pay for parts. Took 6 weeks to get part. In that time, had questions about delay, etc... at one point was yelled at on the phone by Melissa from Whirlpool as I asked to speak to a supervisor. So fun :( First part comes and it is defective, luckily there was another one in Vancouver, so only an additional 4 day wait. My machine is now fixed. It is extremely quiet and cleans very well. Suffice to say, it was defective from the start. So, Ive gotten to pay an extra $300 over retail to have a working machine! Lucky me! Repairman also advised that he recommends everyone to purchase the additional 5 year warranty as the manufacturers are now only making machines with a 7 year life expectancy and I was VERY lucky in the beginning to get someone to even talk to me after the 1 year mark.

The computerized function that sets functions do not work well and often shut down the appliance with little clear way to start it up again. The ice maker/dispenser often clogs up or will not produce ice. Weve had it! We broke down today and spent the money on a new GE refrigerator. My very strong advice is DONT BUY A MAYTAG refrigerator with the freezer on the bottom!
