Maytag Bravos electric steam dryer purchased 2009 - I have had to replace the door hinges within one year of usage at my expense. The blower belt and pulley had come off twice, the last time about a half hour after the repairman (again at my expense) left. I put it back on myself and if it comes off again, I will use Locktite to glue it on the blower shaft. I figure I will be lucky if this crap lasts a couple more years anyway. No more Maytag for us! What does it take for the consumer to get some representation with regard to lemon laws here? I will take my wrath out on Home Depot here since I have no recourse. If enough people complain, maybe they will stop selling that junk. I also will disregard Consumer Reports in the future.

Mine is the Chrome Maytag four-burner cooktop model. About $700. I installed it with ease. After two years there are only one or two slight scratches. It sees full meals for two cooked daily. The grate is first class and looks new, the top itself is easy to clean with a damp soapy cloth and mineral oil. There is easily enough BTU power for any size of pro pan. The igniters are healthy and fine and a repair would be easy.

Like so many other consumers, I was drawn to the Maytag name because of what I thought was the high quality of their products and their stellar reputation. So when our old wall-mount oven failed, I sought out a replacement from the Maytag line. I purchased a model MEW5530WDDB17 in 2011 and had it professionally installed. It worked well for a couple of years. Then, suddenly, three of the numbers on the digital control panel stopped working, making it impossible to set the oven to any temperature that included a 4, a 2 or a 5. When I contacted Maytag, I was informed that the unit was out of warranty, but that I could schedule a service call. I had already researched this issue online and knew that the service person would inform me that I needed a new control board and that one could be installed for around $300, and that the new board would come with a 90 day warranty. When I asked the person to whom I was speaking, she said that she had no further information for me. I know that a lot of others have had this same issue with their Maytag range/ovens, and many of them agree with me that we will never purchase another Maytag product.

I purchased a dryer model med7500yw not even a year ago and the heating element has failed four times causing a lint fire and my clothes are burned and melted. Maytag only wants to keep servicing the dryer and not refund me my money. I asked the representative who claimed to be a supervisor would she feel safe with the dryer in her home and her rude remark was this is not about me and because the service was done back in November and now its January it will need to be serviced yet again. I am losing time from work and the repair men are rude and ignorant.

My experience over the past 2 years with my top loading Maytag washer is echoed in almost every review here. 1. Not enough water to clean the clothes 2. Clothes come out still dirty and covered with detergent 3. Barely agitates 4. Repeated repairs for leaking and computer board breakdown 5. Complete lack of interest by either Lowe’s and Maytag when contacted. I could write a long, detailed complaint but it has all been said quite well. We need to band together and file a class action lawsuit against Maytag. Any lawyers out there willing to take this on?

I have owned a Maytag washer since 1989 (25 years) that has had absolutely NO PROBLEMS WHATSOEVER. It now has a slight leak, so I am considering replacing it. I contacted an appliance store and advised them of my problem. The salesman made a comment which indeed surprised me. He said that, although he would like to make a sale, I should do everything in my power to keep that old Maytag machine because they dont make them like that any more! From reading the reviews about the new Maytag now I understand why! I do not plan on buying another Maytag, which really saddens me, as they were once a high quality, dependable product.

I had no issues with my washer. The best thing I ever did was stop using Sabrina softener in it and made the switch to vinegar. The worst thing I ever did was think that paying $900+ for a nice washer would get me more than a year! What a joke! I started noticing small leaks when my hardwood floors started lifting and once my husband looked into this, we realized there is no seal around the top of the drum. So there is no barrier between the drum and your floors basically. Then one day we had a flood. As we watched the cycle run, we noticed that when the water was filling into the bleach and fabric softener compartments it was coming in at such a high rate, it was spilling over the sides down to the floor. So we went to the internet and found a few complaints about this, but no answers. Thankfully we found one guy who had the exact same problem and even had pictures that matched ours. Luckily a real appliance tech answered him and he couldnt even figure it out but took a guess at what I might be: the water inlet valve. But that was just a guess. So we called around to find the part and talked with a few sales persons. One was so nice to even ask a technician standing in line. And he said that there was no way this could be it. But then we decided to take a gamble. We also noticed that both compartments were filling up at the same time, but the bleach should fill during the wash cycle and the fabric softener during the rinse cycle. So it was either the $104 water inlet valve. Or the $200+ circuit board. These are my options after already spending $900+.. So we went with the valve and thank goodness it worked!!!! It is so disappointing that after a short time, this washer broke and cause more damage to my floors. It is an awful design. I bought myself the nicest front loaders for my first house. When that broke 7 years later, I bought this washer because I liked the no agitator design without the smell of a front loader. Now when this one breaks again, Im not buying another HE machine. The majority of people I talked with today said that these HE machines are breaking down faster and faster as the get better and better. I am so beyond disappointed, angry and in shock that this washer failed in less than a year and a half time. My hope is that this review will give the answers we couldnt find without paying an arm and a leg. Is this what passes for quality these days???

Bought a new maytag gas range march 2013 model #mgr8674ab. The oven would not light at all. Would just click. Still under warranty. Called the service. They came and had to replace the controls in back. 2 months later the same thing, only this time it comes on and goes right back off. Then a week ago got it to light, used the oven and tried to turn it off and it would go off but immediately light up again. Scary to say the least. Another call to service. They are coming tomorrow. This is November 12 2013. I would not buy another maytag gas stove. There is something terribly wrong with this model.

I am sorry I purchased this machine. It was meant to replace a 17-year-old Maytag dishwasher that was not repairable. I figured they were good machines. Wrong. Perhaps I have a lemon, I do not know. I bought the machine on the 23rd of November and it was installed on the 29th of November. Here it is December 12th and I am sick to my stomach. I have already had to contact Maytag customer support and have a repairman coming. This machine does not clean worth a damn! My glasses look worse coming out of the machine than when they went in. I have run two loads with the machine so far. The auto-sense cycle is a joke. It took over four hours to complete and things did not come out clean. Last night I tried the normal cycle. It came up with a run time of 2:36. The first rinse was cold water. The detergent cup was open and empty at 20 minutes in. So what does the machine do for the next two hours??? When the cycle was finished I looked at the glasses and they were spotted and streaked with remnants of fingerprints and lips. So I ran it again trying the quick cycle. Not one bit of difference, still nasty looking glasses. If this machine cannot get the upper rack clean, how can I be sure the lower rack is getting sufficient cleaning? One would think that for $600 it could at least do the job it was meant to do.

I have had a Maytag Bravo Model MVWX500XW0. Bought less than 3 yrs ago for over $550. Four days ago, the drum would not turn during wash or spin. It would act like it was going to turn but then the door lock lid kept flashing. Today Maytag repairman came by and put in a new lock circuit. Instead of fixing the problem, it made it worse. The washer started making rapid clicking sounds and finally the lid lock stopped working altogether. The repairman could not get his computer to even do a diagnostic. Instead he calls his boss who says it must be the motherboard, a $300 part. My research indicates that Maytag almost always says replace motherboard and customers find that doesnt work either. Ive never had a washer last less than 10 years. Three years for a high-priced washer is mind boggling. Ive also never had a repairman make things worse by installing new part but that happened. I will never buy a Maytag product again, even if its owned by Whirlpool, which used to be a name you could count on.

I had a problem with my 1 year old oven. I scheduled an appointment and no one showed up. So I fixed it myself. A week later they called to schedule an appointment and I told them that they were scheduled for last week. So their response was OK, I dont need them anymore - goodbye. The parts are under warranty so I send them the part I replaced myself and the invoice for the cost. I didnt get a response. So 3 months later I send a second letter. Three more months and still no response. I can remember when Maytag had commercials showing their repair sleeping because they had no work to do. Now, their products are failing and their entire service depart is asleep.

On June 17, 2013, we purchased this over the stove microwave for my elderly parents. They use it daily to heat their lunches. In December 2014, it would stop turning and finally in January 2015 it completely died... no heating and no turning. The technician quoted a repair at $200 when we only paid a little more to purchase it. I emailed Maytag to tell them that it was manufactured and purchased in 2013 with light use and that it should never have died in such a short period of time. An e-Solutions Specialist contacted me to tell me that they certainly understand my frustration, but that occasionally failures occur and that there was nothing they could do. I replied back that they could DO something because they were customer service and that was there job. No reply back yet, but after seeing so many of the same issues here, Im not holding my breath and I would never buy or recommend a Maytag product of any kind to anyone. I dont expect 15 years from an appliance, but I certainly think 18 months is just wrong.

My dishwashers warranty expired in March 2011 and it stopped running in April 2011. I have not had the use of my dishwasher since then. I was able to finally afford to have a technician take a look at it. I am told that it is the circuit board and it is going to cost as much as the price I bought the dishwasher for. I thought Maytag products were better than the other products so I paid a little more and got a Maytag only to find out that they are garbage. I might as well bought an unknown brand at a cheaper price for all your products were worth. I guess you cannot trust anyone these days, and I will never buy a Maytag product of any kind again. I think that you should fix this.

We purchased a Maytag dishwasher & installed Aug 15 2012. After installation the control panel wasnt working & Lowes replaced the dishwasher with the same model. After the years warranty was up I started having trouble with the second dishwasher panel. I limped along with it for months until I could not get it to work at all. A repairman came and said that the touchpad & board was damaged. He said it wasnt hooked up properly. After an estimate of over three hundred dollars we decided to rid ourselves of it and purchased another, cheaper brand. Was out 79 dollars for the repair estimate & over 500.00 for the Maytag dishwasher. Plus a new one installed for 700.00. Had the use of this appliance less than two years.

I purchased the gas stove in June of 2012 from Home Depot, along with a Maytag microwave (Model MGR7662WB4). Home Depot installed both items. After trying to reach into the microwave about the stove, the knob would turn itself on with me brushing up against it. This happened several times, and one time the flame shot up and I almost got burned. The last time it happened, I did not realize that the knob was turned very slightly and gas was coming out of the burner for several hours. If it were not for a friend stopping over, I would not have considered the odor being from the stove. I assumed that the drains were probably backed up and started to add cleaners to the toilet bowls. I had to open the windows for several hours to get the smell out. So I called customer service 2 times. The first person said I would have to pay for the call if the problem was not Maytag and I said, “Forget it.” Then I went into Home Depot and the salesperson in there gave me another number to call for service. They came last Friday and said that he had seen at least 10-15 calls about this and since the unit was working as designed and no recalls, there was nothing they could do. “Just wait and see if a recall would be put into place and I would be on the list to fix it. In the meantime just keep the knobs off (which I was doing already out of fear).” My sister just bought a Whirlpool gas range this summer as well and asked if I could try her knob and it worked perfectly. Again I called CS and was told they could not send me those at no charge and that it would cancel out the warranty. So I asked her what I have to do before I or someone else gets injured and she said that until there was a recall, there was nothing they could do. I told her I was going to contact Consumer Report as well as Pam Zekman on Channel 2 news in Chicago. End of story; I still have the problem and no knobs on the new stove. Anything you can do to help please contact me, and thank you in advance.

We just replaced our 20-year-old washer and dryer for a new Maytag Bravos set. The Home Depot staff convinced us that top loading units were of good quality and reliable. We were fairly satisfied with our expensive purchase when our washer stopped spinning. We are just past our 1-year warranty of course so we called the service department. A young man in a beat-up pickup truck showed up and spent his time reading the manual that was hidden under the washer. His best guess was a $300 part plus a $100 fee for him to show up. So to repair a less than 2-year-old machine is $400. Im tempted to buy a different washer. It wont be a Maytag, unless you can convince me otherwise. I give you credit for great advertising! I was convinced that Maytag was a good name with limited repairs.

I am a Baby Boomer... just like so many of us, I watched those lonely Maytag Repairman television commercials. Yes, silly me I purchased our top loading Maytag Bravos XL because of the brand name and because the machine was large enough to wash our bedding. Well, like so many fellow purchasers have found, this machine does not get the clothes clean and leaves soap spots all over the clothes. Its embarrassing. Additionally, there is that funny smell after the clothes come out of the wash. Well, Maytag has really done a number on us all. The clothes would not be clean or they would be soaked when done. Two days ago, on the board it kept blinking LR. I wish I had researched high efficiency washers before buying because of a name we trusted implicitly. Our washer does not get our clothes clean & cleaning it with Affresh is not enough. I have never had to work so hard at getting clothes clean! Towels smell musty, stinky. My husbands sweaty workout & gardening clothes smell worse, even with subsequent washes & his shirts have white spots from the detergent not even being washed out. The rinse cycle water just washes out the bottom of the machine while the clothes are plastered against the side of the machine. I do not wash my husbands clothes with anyone elses or it all smells and if he washes them twice, they still have that odor that comes from being dank. Even if I stop the washer to arrange the clothes on the bottom so they will get rinsed properly (gotta wait two hours for a load to finish) I have bought every HE laundry detergent on the market, every odor remover, vinegar, baking soda, bleach. For a year Ive been chasing my tail to do the dance that I never had to do with a top loader agitator Maytag that we had for 7 years and never had to clean once, but used unscented detergent that got the worst smells and stains out without much thought. Even reviews that I read about their amended top loader with an agitator are not very good.

I have a basic Maytag dishwasher circa 2012. Not sure of the model number. It works well, no fancy features but everything you really need is there. My only real complaint is that the heat dry cycle always seems to leave the dishes a little wet, but thats common enough for dishwashers. It cleans nicely and hasnt had any issues or breaks in 3+ years. Basic. Three wash cycles (light, normal, heavy); Extra rinse option, extra hot option, and heat dry or eco-dry (i.e. no dry). Nice big rinse aid dispenser. Its not that roomy inside. Id say the size is average. It looks nice - its white and unobtrusive. It works really well with Cascade dish pods. The bottom rack is kind of a pain if your plates are curved more than usual.

Maytag Bravos top load washing machine - This is the worst washing machine I have ever used. Like some of the other complaints it leaves lint on your clothing. It does not put enough water in the machine. The so called smart technology that senses your load does a terrible job. Your clothing is halfway out of the water, with dry spots, even after 10 minutes of agitation. I am constantly adding 3 to 5 gallons of water to my loads to get things in the water. And if I want to let thing soak for a while you have to unplug the machine, because after 10 minutes it will automatically drain the water out. 2 years of dissatisfaction. I cant wait for it to die. I should have come to this site first. Never buy a machine without an agitator!

This is the worse designed product. The gaskets on the door keep making mold. The end caps that hold the pantry lid keeps snapping off, had to replace them twice. It is a very elaborate and complicated installation which of course they will not cover. The water dispenser is inside the left side of the fridge and the water runs so slow, that you lose a lot of the refrigeration by the time you fill a glass. This appliance is very noisy. The customer service is sometimes nonexistent. I called on 9-16, I waited 24 min on the line and decided to hang up. The next day I tried again after 15 min they hang up on me. I tried again later got Customer service, but no they could not help me with installation of a replacement for a warrantied part that snapped off for no reason at all. I have complained while this appliance was under warranty, and after. They do not care. My advice is stay clear of Maytag refrigerator, I CERTAINLY WILL.

I have always thought of Maytag being the quality manufacturer of appliance products. We purchased a Maytag microwave (MMV4205DH-1) and after just two years it has begun to give us grief (we are in our early 70s, no family at home, so appliance receives medium usage). We constantly get the open/door message when we are trying to set the timer for operation. We open and close, open and close, etc. Just yesterday my wife noticed a slight crack on the door just below the handle, most likely due to frequent open and closing. Went online and read a number of reviews and found many others have had same or similar issues. Done with Maytag.

I bought a dishwasher from Maytag model #MDB774SBW0, in 2013, last year prior to the year warranty it broke. The control panel had to be replaced. This year its broken again. Control panel not working properly and its starting to rust on the outside in the corner. Per the company unless the repairman damages it out theres nothing they can do. I cannot believe this piece of junk. First of all it costs so much and has broken twice for the same issue in 2 years. Will not buy another Maytag, very unacceptable.

We bought our Legacy Washer and Dryer from Home Depot in December, 2005. Luckily we also bought the one year warranty, because in January 2006, our washer quit running. We called Home Depot, we got the runaround and I think Maytag sent someone out. When he tipped the washing machine over, a belt was off. He said it happens. The next year, something else went wrong with the washing machine (not under warranty anymore) and I paid $129 for that visit. Three weeks ago, the spin dry quit doing a good job on the extended spin cycle. Tonight, I put a load of clothes in and though the washer sounded like it was agitating the clothes, when I lifted the top I saw it was just noise, no agitating. I cannot afford the service call, let alone the whole repair or a new washer.

I bought the Maytag Bravo XL washer and dryer several years ago after reading many reviews. I like the glass top of the washing machine and the front door glass on the dryer. The dryer is fine its the washing machine that does not perform like the old machines. Whoever came up with the bright idea of saving water by cutting down the volume in your machine to about 6 inches for a good size load probably have never used a washing machine in their life. It does not get your clothes clean and does not get the soap out of a clothing to my satisfaction. Who made this suggestion? Could it be the same branch of government that made everybody use those spiral light bulbs years ago? The fluorescence that give off loads of EMF?

I recently purchased a Maytag centennial washer and dryer from my local Home Depot. I set up a delivery date of 2/9/12. I was contacted on 2/6/12 by a Maytag staff telling me that my washer and dryer were on back-order until 2/29/12. This is unacceptable to me. Why does your company not tell its retailers that some items may be back ordered? I would have accepted this if told when I scheduled my original delivery, but being told days later and after taking the day off from work, is poor customer service to me. I am giving very serious consideration to voiding this order and finding a new company to deal with. I do not have the confidence that future issues will be shared or dealt with in a timely manner.

MCT commercial technology washer Bravos XL - HORRIBLE product, NEVER worked right! Maytag misrepresented this washer. DONT buy it! Lie after lie! Its suppose to be high efficiency... conserve water and energy. I have to use 3 times the amount of water and energy because it doesnt wash the first time correctly. Leaves soap in clothes, just doesnt wash properly. I have done EVERYTHING they have recommended NOTHING works! I will NEVER buy another product from them. Even the repair people and Customer people say they have nothing but problems. Im going to small claims court. Im sure with all the problems we could get a class action lawsuit. No stars.

The best we can tell, we got our Maytag in 1991. This was because the repairman told us that was the last year they made parts for it. It ran wonderfully until 2018. The water valve broke, but a repairman easily fixed it. In 2019, it stopped running. The repairman fixed it, temporarily, he said. He refused to charge us for his work because he said we might get a few more loads done before it completely pooped out. Were still using it. I love this machine. It has gone WAY past the expected life span of a washing machine. Weve had it for 29 years!

Since the day the Neptune washer and dryer were installed, the washer has given me nothing but problems. It vibrates so badly and dances all over the floor.I have had the repairman over at least seven times and, now, it is out of warranty so I am spending my own money. The last service man was from Hurst Appliances in Regina, SK. He removed the pedestal to see if this might be the problem. He also sold me some foot pads for $50 that he said might help the problem. However the machine is still vibrating and the terrible mold smell comes out of it as well. I am thoroughly disappointed in this product. I will never buy another Maytag product and tell my friends not to as well.

We are on our 2nd Bravos XL. The first washer lasted 6 years and there was a part going out that kept making it stop in the process. Basically the repair guy said it will just go out one day so it was up to us to repair or replace the machine. The machine didn’t have an agitator and we had been having issues with white residue on the clothes for a long time but thought it was related to the other part. So we bought a new one, with an agitator. It was the new model. We’ve had it around 6 months and we have lots of issues with the white residue. The only success we have with not getting white residue on darks is using deep fill and very little detergent. We use powder because the liquid makes dark spots on our dark clothes. So either way, there’s a problem. So we are using a lot of water when it’s supposed to be water saving. And we are using much less detergent that the company says. I think it’s the machine that has problems. I’ve read a long thread on Facebook and it appears that Maytag tells you to use Affresh regularly. It also says to follow their instructions. But everyone seems to follow instructions but Maytag takes no responsibility for their product. Makes me sad because Maytag was the best on the market at one time and we will never buy again. Our dryer works fine but the washer sucks. And that was a lot of money that I paid. I hope that Maytag decides to make it right and help their “customers” enjoy their products once again.

I bought this washer in November of 2012 thinking it’s one of the best because it is a Maytag. Five months later, the wash machine needed a new gear case because it was making this horrible loud noise when it was washing and spinning. The service guy came over and replaced this part. Now, the washer does not want to spin. The clothes are soaked, and I have to stand there and manually turn the knob to spin it; and it still doesnt spin right. This is the worst experience I’ve ever had with a washing machine, and I regret ever buying this Maytag. They should recall this series of washers because there is something really wrong when you have to have it repaired twice, and it is not even a year old!

I called Maytag and was told basically, tough luck. I said something about Maytag, that it was supposed to be a great brand and should last longer than 1 year. The part to fix it plus labor was going to cost nearly as much as a new microwave to replace it. Now, the microwave has started to turn on by itself. Customer service was very rude and came off with a we dont really care attitude. I will never buy Maytag again.

Purchased Maytag dishwasher model # MDB4709PAB3 8/2012 @ Lowes in NY with extended warranty. After a while, noticed wood floor warping in front of appliance. Called repair and after several tries, they couldnt repair leak under door. After many complaints to Lowes and Maytag, was finally issued a new dishwasher 8/2013 same model #. Person that hooked it up couldnt wait around to see if all was okay. Ran dishwasher after he left and as usual for this model it leaks worse than before. Called Maytag complaint dept and they said they would issue me another dishwasher of my choice and same price through Lowes. But they never spoke to Lowes and Maytag will not call me back. I would think there must be a leak problem with this model. Do not buy. It is not worth the trouble!

I bought the quiet series 200 dishwasher about 2 years ago. The control board went out and because it was past the industry standard one-year warranty, we were told we need to pay the cost of repair and parts ourselves. Well, I came here and seen that there were numerous complaints about that board specifically with all their models of dishwashers. I called and raised hell two times, and then I found them on Facebook and publicly bashed them there on their own page. They got back to me there and gave me an email address to explain my problem with their product. So I did. I even copied this web address and pasted it to my complaint. First, they called me and offered the part at 50% off. I told them, Go to hell. Even at 50% off the part combined with the techs labor, Im still better off buying a new machine and it will not be a Maytag ever again! A week after that another phone call came from them, this time saying they will cover the part 100%, but no labor. I agreed and for about $180 I got a new control panel installed and a one-year warranty on everything except cosmetic damage. Not bad, eh? Certainly not typical, I was told by the repair guy. Be angry, be respectful, but be persistent and public! That’s my advice.

I called Maytags customer service about an over the range microwave that was bought 2 years ago and barely used. The mechanism in the microwave on the latch for the door, clicked into the body of the unit and therefore the door does not register closed which doesnt allow it to come on. After explaining this issue to the customer service rep, she insisted that the only thing that Maytag would stand behind was the part if needed. A service call would be between $100 - $150. The microwave isnt even that old and why would Maytag not stand behind a like new unit? I bought 3 Maytag products and I am now regretting it. I had asked to speak to a supervisor and she just proceeded to repeat the same thing the sales rep did. They will only cover the cheap part if needed. What happened to Maytag being top of the line? Apparently they dont care about standing behind their products and would rather you buy an expensive extended warranty to cover their cheaply made appliance. I think they should be under review as a company. I would somewhat understand paying if my appliance was 5 to 10 years old. But its basically new. How is there no protection for customers when it comes to purchasing lemons from an appliance dealer? I will NEVER buy Maytag again and plan on selling my 2 other newly purchased appliances before they have issues. Maytags reviews on social media are terrible. All they offer are the words Im sorry and I understand your frustration. I assume thats just what they have written down in front of them to tell everyone who calls with issues. How do you not stand behind your products! I wish I could select no stars vs the 1.

We bought a Maytag refrigerator (single-door) with a top-loading freezer that failed after four years. The freezer began to ice up and two repairmen from the company that does the extended warranty repairs in the Ottawa area were unable to figure out the problem. After the second visit, the freezer iced up again and the thermostat appeared to be failing. Even though we had an extended warranty, we just gave up and went to a different dealer to buy a new refrigerator that could be delivered within three days - and it wasnt a Maytag or any other of Whirlpools brands. I do not have a problem with Lowes; the problem is this crummy washer. Any digital anything is only as good as its programmer, and it seems that all digital stuff suffers from the same malady. I long for the old top loader I had 30 years ago. It actually did get the clothes cleaner and they did not smell after being washed. Plus, I could customize each load just exactly the way I wanted to with the knobs and dials. This Maytag goes to Error when adding water because I have an old well which does not supply enough water fast enough for the way it was programmed. I have to fill two two-gallon buckets and carry them to the laundry room and pour them into the washer. Every time. Hot, cold, or warm, it doesnt matter. And I, too, have to pre-wash some dirtier items. The old gasoline Maytag did a better job than this one. And this is progress!!!

Maytag Dishwasher model MDBH989AWB3. The dishwasher was purchased at Home Depot March 19, 2010 in Hollywood, FL; delivered to our new home April 16, 2010 in Brunswick, ME. My complaint is the exact same complaint as the previous 28 complaints! I think the reason our unit worked for 6 yrs is because it was in use only 6 months a year. My experience: you make your selection, two lights come on, you press start, but nothing happens. You think this is a simple repair. You read the manual and try their troubleshooting advice, but to no avail. When you contact the company, they tell you that this is going to be an expensive repair, probably over $500. You contact Home Depot who want nothing to do with you or your dead dishwasher. Their advice: contact the Maytag company. You contact local appliance repairmen and they will repair it at a cost of over $500. You offer the unit to the repairman for free; he declines. He suggests you check the online Consumer Affairs site. It is on that site that you realize the dead dishwasher belongs where one brings other dead things: the dump. I will NEVER buy another Maytag product. I would suggest no one else does either, unless you want to practice your skills in dealing with frustration or you want to throw $693.40 to the wind and watch it flit away helplessly. We purchased a Maytag 4000 series washer and dryer in October 2011, and within 5 months, the main bearing failed. The Maytag repair person told us it was an inherent issue and to make sure we use HE detergent (We always have.). Maytag advised parts were not available for 3 weeks, so no washer after 5 months of use. The bearing failed a second time after 11 months. Maytag refused to replace the washer and advised it was repairable condition. Now, we have the bearing fail a third time, and Maytag has advised that they would not repair the washer under the extended warranty program. They offered us 75% refund on the washer (So I guess they expect their products to only last 4 years.), which is simply unacceptable. We are now faced with purchasing a new washer, which will not match the dryer; or we have to purchase a washer and dryer of another brand. We had purchased a Maytag refrigerator from a local appliance store in May 2012. The fridge was delivered in June and come August 5, 2013, it does not work. First, the temperature of the refrigerator declined drastically causing us to lose over $500 worth of food. Items that were even unopened had to be thrown down the drain. The first call was made to Maytag customer service. They decided to send a technician. Great. The technician came and informed us that it was the refrigerant. WRONG. The second technician comes and states that the compressor is shot and that is why it is not staying cold. Time to order the compressor that is on back order. Shocking. Another week goes by without a fridge. Cut to the third technician who comes and installs the new compressor. Fridge is cool and at about 32 degrees for probably 4 hours. The food goes back in the fridge and the temperature climbs to 70 within minutes. Strike two. Contact Customer Service and demand answers on what can be done. Speak with the first representative named Melinda. If you get her good luck. She states she doesnt care and hangs up. Call back to speak with another representative who is very sweet and compassionate and tries her best to help. Unfortunately, she was unable to do so. Asked to speak with a supervisor and had the displeasure of speaking with Scott. For all the trouble that we have been going through, time wasted, food thrown away, Scott can offer $100. Yeah, okay, nice try. The more we speak with Scott, he ups the ante to $150 and the final offer of $200. I advised Scott that there is someone higher than him that needs to be involved after he told me that he was the highest I could go. Wrong again. Time goes by and nothing happens. We receive a call from Yvette ** that was missed and call her back in the corporate executive office. We have contacted her and left her 4 voice mails and the response has been nothing. Actually, calling her you get her message that she is not available. This is over the span of a week. Nothing. ANOTHER technician is sent to look at the fridge and what was supposed to be a brand new compressor that was installed and states that the fridge is condemned. Well isnt that lovely?! Of course because the parts are made in Brazil and Maytag is charged $15 for them and they charge the consumer $200. There is no reason why they should work. We got in touch with the appliance store who told us that we need to speak with Maytag to ask for our money back because we are NOT taking the same fridge as a replacement. Now, we are plagued with the appliance store not taking our calls, the corporate executives not taking our calls, and a $1300 stainless steel french door paperweight. With a call in to our attorney and the phone poised to be dialing our local news stations, I am not sure of what the next move for Maytag will be. Im sitting here after 21 days of not having a refrigerator hoping that a call and resolution comes soon. My family will NEVER EVER purchase a Maytag appliance again. I wouldnt even purchase Maytag brand toilet paper because Im sure that it would need to have one function and even that function as easy as it is would not work. People, please save yourself the headache and the money and the time of dealing with Maytag, Whirlpool, and Amana. Their customer service does not care about you, their products are crap, and they will swindle you and leave you high and dry. I hope to have some good news about this issue but I can guarantee that nothing good is going to come of this, well, at least for Maytag. Get on your social media and let people know how TERRIBLE this company is. STOP BUYING THEIR PRODUCTS. Sorry Maytag, the buck stops here.

However, if I waited a few hours, it would dry out, enough and then would operate. Apparently, steam leaks into the control panel and causes it to be erratic. This has been a problem with this design for many years and the Maytag Corporation has not cared enough about its customers to correct the design flaw. I remember when the name Maytag indicated a top of the line product. Sadly, this is no longer the case. As a result, my loyalty to them has ceased.I probably will not buy another Maytag product again. Their standards have eroded.

We have a model MF12269VEMS. Approx 3 years old. Ice maker and water dispenser work great. Fridge works well. We have experienced over the last 6 months a buildup of ice that forms inside the freezer under the drawers. If we dont catch it every 4-5 days we cannot open the drawers as the ice catches the bottom plastic drawers. I called Maytag directly and the pleasant young lady told me after checking that it did not seem to be an issue...clearly after looking into the internet I am not alone! Maybe someone can email me a fix?

My Maytag MDB7609AWW2 dishwasher was purchased on 1/2010. Last month, the control board only worked on the right side of the panel and the dishwasher would not run. I called Maytag to see if this was a typical issue with the washer, which they denied. I ordered and replaced the control panel but this did not help. After reading all these posts, I do not think Maytag is being honest with their customers. Also, it looks like even if I am able to fix this issue, it is likely to repeat. I think I will cut my losses now and buy a different brand of dishwasher. I will never buy a Maytag again.

Leaking water and puddles in front (each side) of refrigerator. Purchased from Home Depot on 12-20-2011... After doing a search on the internet I found that this is a common problem with the Maytag refrigerator. This model is a two door with ice maker on left door and freezer on bottom of unit. Looks like Maytag does not want to be bothered with my problem. Model #MF12569YEW. It certainly was not an inexpensive model. Whatever happened to the Maytag repairman who was never needed because the Maytag products were so great???Updated on 03/21/2015This is not the first time this Maytag product had problems. Expensive piece of junk in my book! First, as many consumers have experienced there was water leaking in front of the refrigerator onto our hardwood floor. Now the door gasket seal ripped on the end tabs. What happened to Maytag?

I purchased a Maytag Gemini gas range in July 2006. Rust has appeared on the bottom of both oven doors. I called Maytag customer service, realizing that my range was no longer covered by warranty. However, I feel the paint on a range, costing over $1,000, should last longer than 5 years. Customer service told me to call a repair technician. When I asked who would pay for this service call, they didnt even bother to respond to me. As I have read other reviews of dissatisfied Maytag Range owners, Im glad I didnt waste money calling a repair tech who would do nothing to help, but charge a $100 plus fee. The paint on a car, which is subjected to all kinds of weather, lasts much longer than 5 years. You would think the paint on an appliance inside a home should last much longer. This rust is becoming very unsightly. I will certainly not purchase a Maytag product again, as the company has proved they do not stand behind their product line.

I purchased a Bravo Washer and Dryer from Home Depot. The Maytag Bravo washer and dryer we purchased from Home Depot did not work from the beginning. Before I called Maytag, I tried for several months to redo the way I was loading the washer and dryer.I tried several different settings however, the clothing keeps coming out smelling like it is still worn. Spots are in the clothing that normally comes out with a washing (with my prior washer). The clothing just does not get cleaned and it gets so tangled that it has ruined some of my clothing. There is clumping of the detergent, even though not a lot has been used.I had the repair company come out three times for both the washer and the dryer. They have checked and no errors codes where found. One gentleman told me again to redo the way I load the washer and the dryer. I have done it so many times, but I tried again and even purchased little dryer balls. It made no difference.I called Maytag again and was told they would have to have another company come in and do a second opinion. The person came and said that he agreed that the washer should be able to wash and the dryer should be working correctly. He recommended that a possible problem with the motherboard for the dryer (which was a possible problem mentioned by visit #2) could be handled, but he had to have it approved. He would check with the company and get back to me. I received a call the next day and a message was left telling me there is nothing he can do with the washer. He was told by Maytag/Whirlpool that I should only fill the tub lightly and not pack it down (I told everyone how I load and I never pack my clothing down). The washer should, when loaded with wet clothing, be only 1/3 to full otherwise it decreases the wash ability dramatically. The problem of the siphoning action for the softener section of the washer should be handled by running boiling water through the tube to loosen up the wax portion of the softener. The possible correction for the dryer exchanging the motherboard (it could be set incorrectly) was turned down by saying that the dryer is running to Maytag/Whirlpool’s satisfaction and nothing else would be done, since there are no error codes for both washer and dryer. My towels have a mildew odor to them when they are used. They have to be washed twice and run through the dryer a long time before I can put them away. I purchased a high capacity washer and dryer and I am told now not to fill it more then 1/2 full. That is not what I was told by the person selling it. Otherwise, I would not have purchased this set at all.

If you dont want your sheets ripped, then DO NOT purchase this machine. All my sheets have been torn, and many items of clothing damaged beyond repair due to this machine. Also, the machine started rusting out the first year I bought it (see photo). The repair man said that I must be doing something wrong - of course, its the consumer and not the machine - ha! Maytag should have given all of us a huge credit to a different machine because they knew of these problems early on. Never again will I purchase a Maytag appliance.

I purchased a matching set Maytag washer & dryer June 2013. Sept 2013 the drum went out - 4 weeks for that repair. March 2014 the electric panel went out. Took about 10 phone calls with hold waits of 30 to 70 minutes and 4 months, to find out the replacement part is no longer available and the washer is discontinued. To get a new matching set, I had to pay for a new dryer and they will give me a free washer. I have to give both washer and dryer back - I paid for 2 dryers. 6 month later and more phone calls, no washer and no one will return my calls. The dryer I paid for is at the appliance store waiting on the new washer. We consumers have nowhere to go. I have heard so many similar situations. Where are we to go? Who are we to call?

My $1500 2 yr old Maytag mbf2258Dem refrigerator stopped cooling properly (wont freeze). The icemaker was the slowest I have ever had. That may have been the problem when I bought it. The Maytag Repairman came out and said that even with Maytag sending me a new compressor (under warranty) this unit was not worth fixing. I called Maytag and they said sorry there was nothing they would do. So l looked up every review I could find... and this refrigerator is just bad. Not Worth Fixing. So Maytag deceived me. Bought our washer dryer set from Sears in the fall of 2010. I had reservations from the start as the machines were new and the salesman was really pushing this set (on sale), with all the customers, even offering extra discounts on these models only, if customers bought that day. Apparently, they had overstock and were trying to sell them all ASAP. That was a warning to me but my husband convinced me that I was being overly suspicious. We had previously owned Maytag machines for 20 years and loved them. So I agreed. Well, I have been cursing that decision ever since. You have to hand wash/prescrub any stain on clothing, even a little make-up like blush or a little mud. Then you have to put up with an inflexible system that wont allow you manual options regarding spins and temperature or times, etc. Its all programmed. Then you put up with clanging spin cycle as it bangs against the wall. Then you pull out very wrinkled and not always cleaned clothes only to begin the most frustrating dryer experience ever. It has a mind of its own. It can actually keep spinning as it keeps adding dry time and the clothes never dry! God help you if you have a regular load. All your clothes will get stuck on the little ledge. They stay there in a heap as the machine spins and spins. The solution? You have to add a bunch of dry towels to create a lot of mass so that it keeps your laundry from getting stuck on the side. Then you have to repeat this several times cause it doesnt dry well. I will never ever shop at Sears and I will never buy Whirlpool or Maytag again. I am now saving to buy another set.

Like so many others, I now discover, we are having a ridiculously frustrating problem with our Maytag dishwasher, bought one and a half years ago. Last week, the control panel stopped working -- we press normal and a whole bunch of other lights come on; try to press other cleaning options and entirely different ones light up again. Sometimes we can get it, with luck, to quick wash or super clean and thus have our dishes cleaned (which the machine never did that effectively anyway); sometimes we cant. I havent called the company yet, but given what Ive read, Im unsure if it would do any good. Judging from all the similar comments, Maytag is clearly selling a radically inferior product and care nothing much about this. We will surely never, ever buy another one of their products.

WE bought all new Maytag kitchen appliances and the extended best service contract. Cost 1/2 of the cost of the appliances. This was 3 years ago. Recently dishwasher went blank. Service call was a factory neutral wire. Then ice maker replaced with a reman unit. Then we thought something was wrong with the oven cleaning system aqua lift. So after many hours and calls two service techs told us the system will not clean the oven and after many cycles it will not and the bad part is they are still selling this system to the public. Criminal. I think they should own up to the public when they do this kind of thing. On top of this I would go buy the self cleaning oven but the tech even said he will not use it because it will break and need replacement. It is no better other than you can use oven cleaner to clean the finish without the heating element and you cannot use anything that works on the aqua lift finish. Bad deal.

Well Maytag, I have to say that I am very disappointed with your washer. When I put it on the bedding setting and try to wash a big load, it barely moves the load around. If you have a regular agitator to replace this useless one that is in this new washer I would like to have one. My laundry is barely getting washed and when you look inside the washer everything that is on the top stays on the top, not like the older washers where you could see that the laundry was getting sucked down with the proper agitator.

My Maytag (MER7662XQ) oven has stopped working after barely 6 months of use. I filed a warranty-repair complaint and reported the error codes shown: F1 (faulty touchpad) and F3 (faulty temp sensor). Although Maytag promptly sent a repairman, he arrived without parts and left within 5 minutes without fixing anything. He said he would order parts. Whenever they were delivered to us, by mail, we should call again to schedule another repair. But he warned he was prohibited from coming out for another 7 days. So far, Ive been without an oven for almost 3 weeks and there has been no action or information. My calls to Maytag produced nothing, except confirmation they show the repair as open since they do not actually distribute parts, and the repairman is with an outside company. We currently have had our Maytag washing machine for approximately 15 years. The first thing we noticed was how user friendly it was. Also, the options that came with our washing machine met all of our needs. The second thing that we were excited about was how quiet it was. Our previous washing machine could be heard at the back of the house and was constantly out of balance. The third thing we noticed was how much cleaner our clothes were. Our clothes smelled better and had less wear thus saving us money. Speaking of which, the machine is an energy saver. One of the most significant attributes I can attest to is how reliable it is. There has never been an issue that required repair services. I am sure our Maytag will be in service for years to come. c

I do not recommend this product. I purchased them 2 years ago. Within one month, the drum stopped working on the dryer. This was covered under warranty. In the last month, though, I have noticed that there are blue stains on the new drum. I do not leave clothes in the dryer wet. Last week, the washer stopped agitating or cleaning clothes even though the cycle would still run. I called for a service call and paid $82 for this. I found out the transmission was not working. This is not covered under the warranty. The warranty for entire machine is only 1 year. The 2-10 year warranty only covers the drive motor and wash basket. I cannot understand why a transmission is not covered. I feel like they are not standing behind their product. Finally, after a lot of talking, I did get Maytag to agree to cover the cost of the transmission part; but I am still obligated to pay $150 for labor. Why are products not standing up to use as in the past? I am very disappointed with these products.

I did not purchase a stove to not use the oven. This is totally ridiculous!!! I am tired of this situation. Maytag needs to recall these ovens, so I can purchase an oven that works.
