Oven was purchased and put in May 2014. I have not be able to use. The oven temperature is off. If the oven is used at 500 degrees the temperature is really 900. I thought I had a gas leak because I got a bad headache because of the smell. The gas co told me to get a repair person to look at it. Maytag has been horrible to deal with. I have taken 3 separate days off trying to get it fixed. The last Maytag repair man had the nerve to ask me where the gas line was. He shut the wrong off and had a gas leak in my house. I had to open all windows. He was supposed to come back the next day. He did not and I received no calls. I have paid for an oven that is dangerous that I cannot use. I feel Im being treated this way because I am an older woman. I will never buy another Maytag.

I purchased the Maytag Bravos top load washer and the matching dryer at Home Depot back in 2009 after giving my son my very old Maytag washer and dryer that was running just fine. I liked the top load energy efficiency idea of the new Bravos and the large capacity of both the washer and dryer. Also, the Maytag name sold me, gave me confidence I was purchasing a quality product... WRONG. When it was delivered, there was damage to the dryer door, so a new one was ordered and mailed directly to me. Once it came in, I called to have someone come put it on. First issue, not a really big deal but disappointing.About one month into using the dryer, the top of it became so hot it could literally burn your hand. There was also an error message. I had purchased a one-year warranty, even though technically there is a manufacturers warranty on the product. A part had to be replaced in the panel. This happened twice. We then moved out of state for one year and the washer and dryer stayed in storage unused during that time.Fast forward to 2014 and the washer will not complete any cycle except the spin cycle. I keep getting an error message of OL which means overload. The machine is NOT overloaded. It literally takes me hours to get through one cycle of washing clothes. And they dont even come out clean. I called Maytag repair and they offered me a one-year warranty for $363.75 since the washer is having issues. They explained to me if its the control panel the cost alone for that is $383.00 not including labor. Also, the dryer take forever to dry. I have to run each load through a cycle twice to dry everything. So much for the energy efficiency of these machines. At this point, I am considering just buying another washer, something cheaper without all the fancy bells and whistles. I am terribly disappointed in Maytag.

This is a portable dishwasher. It does a great job washing the dishes. It’s fairly quiet and gets them very clean. It moves quite easily. The silverware tray is generous. The cycle takes a bit of time, but I don’t think it is excessive compared to other brands.

I recently purchased a Maytag centennial washer and dryer from my local Home Depot. I set up a delivery date of 2/9/12. I was contacted on 2/6/12 by a Maytag staff telling me that my washer and dryer were on back-order until 2/29/12. This is unacceptable to me. Why does your company not tell its retailers that some items may be back ordered? I would have accepted this if told when I scheduled my original delivery, but being told days later and after taking the day off from work, is poor customer service to me. I am giving very serious consideration to voiding this order and finding a new company to deal with. I do not have the confidence that future issues will be shared or dealt with in a timely manner.

I have been reading the recent comments about the Maytag Bravo I purchased in 2011, and is sitting in my laundry room broken down. The timer wont advance past 18 minutes. I have reset it to factory default a number of times to no avail. I am very frustrated that the customer service offered an extended warranty for $319 to cover the service repair and another 1 years warranty. My washer is three years old! The warranty they offer is half the cost of the purchase price! The quality of this machine is very poor. I am truly disappointed with Maytag, who used to be a company you could trust. They have lost my trust along with my business.

Washing machine required service approx 3 months after purchase. Dryer heating element stopped working just after the year warranty ended. To fix dryer will cost approximately 30% of the purchase price of the machine. And all the while I am tainted by the 10 Year Warranty sticker that I never removed from the machines. Never again will I purchase a Maytag product.

Back a couple years ago, Dec. 29, 1983, I purchased a Maytag washer, model A209, and a Maytag Dryer, model DG110. Im still using them daily. The washer has given NO problems, other than the brake has taken to squealing. This causes nothing more than a notice that the load is done, so no repair is necessary. The dryer has proven more problematic, as I have had to replace the ignitor three times, the blower fan twice, and the motor (and belt) once. I still think I have gotten my moneys worth.

Problems with Maytag dishwasher, purchased at Sears Canada Model MDB7749S i
Problems with Maytag dishwasher, purchased at Sears Canada Model MDB7749S is only a couple of years old, and as such is no longer under warranty. This Dishwasher is less than 3 years old! Both the interior and exterior is stainless steel and looks virtually new. Cost of parts and labour to repair amount to more than a new dishwasher--this is unacceptable. Poor design. Little value compared to cost. First issue: bottom rack wheels fall off because the plastic pin holding the plastic wheels on the rack become fall out, leaving no way to hold the wheels onto the rack. Second issue: faulty design of the integrated door handle and control panel on the exterior door face. The control panel pops out of the front cover panel when door is pulled open. With some struggle it can be popped back in.I agree with another reviewer who wrote: The design of the faceplate is defective in that too much force is applied to the faceplate when opening the unit. The handle is integrated in to the faceplate. The plastic used becomes brittle over time and breaks. The panel unit (W10811169) must be replaced in entirety rather than just its housing increasing the cost of repair. To have this failure occur within the first 3 years of use is very premature. I can only assume if I repair the dishwasher I will have the same problem again. I am considering buying a new model that is designed better and comes with a longer warranty on such parts.

I purchased a washer and dryer model MAH8700AWW. In 2005, I purchased the extended warranty. In 2009, I had to replace the main control board and motor on the dryer. Now, I find out that the washer has a warped drum which caught on the door boot and messed the shaft up. I didnt know that it has probably been that way since I purchased it because every time I washed clothed, I had to stay in with it because when it would go to spin, the washer would walk out into the middle of the room. I called about it and they told me to put rubber pieces to hold it still. Now it is going to cost $ 821.95 to fix. That is more than I paid for the washing machine and Maytag will not help to fix it. I would like someone to contact the company and find out why they dont stand behind their products anymore.

I purchased a Maytag dryer (MDE2400AZW) 2 years ago, but have only been using it for the last year - and fairly infrequently, as this is a dryer that my guests use. I called Home Depot where I bought the dryer (along with the washer). I thought I had purchased an extra warranty, but turns out I only had it on the washer - what was I thinking. I wish I had read these reviews before I made my purchase. My local repair man charged me $192.00 for a new heater and his time. Theres a whole 90-day warranty on the new heater!! I sure hope this one lasts more than a year otherwise Ill be buying a new dryer and it wont be Maytag.

We purchased a Maytag from Lowes about 3 years ago. The spin function quit working properly last Feb 19. We paid $350 to have parts replaced thinking it was a fluke and we would be set for a long time to come. Well, last week the same thing happened... not even a year later. Lowes doesnt care and Maytag doesnt care. They want you to spend more to get a warranty to get you to 5 years... well as far as I am concerned that is not good enough. An appliance should last 10-15 years. This Maytag was to replace a Whirlpool that caught all of our clothes in the agitator fins, so after a short period of dealing with that we paid out for a Maytag without an agitator. So in the span of 6 years... we had about $1,500 of dissatisfaction. I believe our repair guy said they the companies are one and the same. Selling junk ought to be illegal.

I spoke with Mike today at the customer service department at Maytag to see if Maytag would pay for the parts to repair my 04/2010 Maytag front load washer (model MHWE450WW00). The bearing assembly needs to be replaced. So, that means the tub and basket need to be replaced too. The original cost in 04/2010 was $1,088 plus tax. The cost to repair is $1,048. Maytag will do nothing since it was purchased over 12 months ago. I cant believe I just threw almost $1100 away on a washer. Obviously, there is something wrong when an appliance doesnt work after 1.5 years.

Maytag Quiet Series 400. Only good thing is the 3 spray arms. The racks are arranged in the worst configuration so you cannot fit many dishes in. The controls are extremely confusing. They do not seem to work in a logical way. The manual is of little help in figuring out how to operate the machine. I dont use the drying feature, so the only options on the panel that work together are Normal and Hi Temp Wash. Ive never had a dishwasher that took 2 hours to wash, but the settings dont allow for a smaller load or shorter time. The rinse agent receptacle is confusing and difficult to understand and use. Way too complicated compared to earlier dishwashers that Ive used. Would not buy this one again.

Same thing as what most people are complaining about - I also have hardwood floors that are ruined. I just had a kitchen remodel and now I wish the floors werent new. Warped badly under the fridge. It is a constant pain. I have to break up the ice with a blunt object to get it out. I was so excited to get a new fridge. Of course it was on sale, now I know why. Bravo Series Washer and Dryer. I hate, hate, hate this washer and dryer. I
Bravo Series Washer and Dryer. I hate, hate, hate this washer and dryer. I have had it for 2 years and hate it more every day. What makes is worse is the over $2,000 spent to buy this piece of crap technology. The engineer should be fired and sham on Maytag for selling such a piece of crap. Washer does not get clothes clean and I have pictures to prove the amount of dirt and lint and soap left on clothes and bedding. Very poor design, and worse yet absolutely horrible engineering. To wash one item on delicate takes 47 minutes. No way around it and you are limited to the water temperature you want to use and the spin cycle that you want for that item. Water level is too low no matter what setting you use. I have read and reread and gone step by step according to instructions with no success of clothes coming out clean. Clothes are also twisted and knotted and wrinkled like no other machine I have used in over 50 years. The washer is very limited in what it allows you to do. Bedding cycle is a joke that does not work at all. One of the reasons I bought this was so that I would no longer have to take the time to drive to a laundromat. I washed a comforter and so much soap and lint and dirt was left on the comforter. I still had to take it to the laundromat to get it clean.Dryer is just as bad. Even with the energy saver off it still takes 1 hour and 20 minutes to dry 4 towels that are 5 years old. I cant imagine how long it would take to dry brand new fluffy towels. It was engineered to sense when ONE piece of clothing is dry. I want ALL my clothes dry, not one piece and the machine shut off. How stupid is that??? Engineers - design it so it senses when clothes are still damp and the machine keeps running!!! I can only use the time dry setting because no other setting even comes close to getting the clothes dry.To top off the hatred of this machine some damn engineer apparently thought this was a car and needed to be aerodynamic with a curved lid on both washer and dryer so you cannot put anything on top of the machine!!! Not every house is 5,000 square feet with plenty of room and storage!!! They want to force you to buy the drawers to put underneath and then the washer becomes too tall for short people to reach down into to get the clothes out. There is not one positive thing I can say about the washer and on top of it I will never purchase another item from the store I bought this set from. I have had service come out time and time again and they say it is an installation problem. Installation says it is service and yet no one will admit it is just a very poorly designed machine. Do not buy this brand or series of washer and dryers. This series deserves a minus and the company should replace every set sold!!!

We have had this washer for 1 year. I noticed right away my clothes would come out extremely wrinkled. Now not only are they wrinkled, they also smell musty. After researching I find others have the same issue, even finding a video of horrible mold under the drum. We called to have it serviced since we have a 5-year warranty. The service man recommended using Afresh. WELL, we do faithfully every month. He said they would not pay to have it cleaned, and even if he cleaned it, that the mold would come back. This to me is a major design flaw, one that could potentially make people sick. IF there is that much mold growing in the machine, with no way of cleaning it, and now the clothes are smelling, there is a HUGE issue!

I loved my first Maytag combo unit and when that quit I bought another Maytag. The Neptune is a front load washer. I immediately noticed the door gasket getting moldy. I contacted Maytag whose response was leave the door open. Well, I did that and not only did I still get mold, but the light burned out. I recently started having trouble - the water doesnt drain and the clothes are still wet. Rather than have it repaired, I elected to buy a new washer/dryer unit. My husband bought me a brand new Bravo Maytag washer and dryer from Home Depot in November 2010. In May of 2011, we moved and the dryer hookup was electric instead of gas. My husband knew how much I love the dryer, so he surprised me with another Bravo dryer to match the washer. We put the other dryer in storage and were happy with our purchase until April. In April 2012, the dryer stopped working. It wouldnt dry the clothes at all, and every time we tried to dry, the dryer was filled with wet lint. We were only a week away from moving again, so we waited until we got to the new house. The new house had gas hookups. So, we put the dryer that didnt work in storage and were thankful we didnt get rid of the other dryer. Now, just a few months later, the gas dryer isnt drying and is having the same issues as the electric dryer. How very disappointing! Both dryers are broken now, and it has only been 2 years. Each dryer has gotten about a year of use and then both quit. My husband, I and my two-year-old dont do that much laundry to break 2 dryers. My old GE washer and dryer lasted for years and is still working. We gave them to my husbands aunt who uses them and loves them. I agree someone should start a class action against Maytag. These issues are ridiculous!

This washer is the worst piece of junk I have ever purchased. From day 1 it never cleaned my clothing. It was too much money to call a repairman so I have lived with it since October 13, 2013 and I have finally been able to buy a new washer this week. My husband would come home from work and ask me why I put dirty clothing in his drawers, he said his clothes stunk and were stained. This washer just did not clean the clothing. It didnt use water. I cannot say how many times I would open it after washing a load and the clothes were dry. It saved water alright, it didnt use any and it was installed properly. If you are going to purchase a Maytag Centennial, run. Dont walk. Run, fly, look the other way, just dont buy this HUNK OF JUNK! I cant even sell it, so we will sell it on eBay for parts just to recoup some of our hard earned money! MAYTAG YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF!

I purchased a 5 Maytag appliances in the last year. Stupidest thing I have ever done. The clothes washer being the worst. Front Load, model # MHW3505FW1. Last night I threw 5 small, lighter weight things in the washer on normal cycle, med temp, max extract... like usual. An hour and thirty-eight minutes later (normal cycle time), I opened it to find most things never even got wet. One scarf was still folded in fourth - the way I put it in! I called service even though I know there is nothing wrong with the washer, other than being so poorly designed, it cant get clothes wet with a damn tub and a hose. After I told her the problem, she puts me on hold, comes back to tell me she researched this everywhere and she found that this is a symptom of a NEW washer! Its SOO efficient that you cant even tell it was wet! Bull. Most of the items were brand new and you could see the original creases and smell the new smell. They CLEARLY were never wet. They wanted to set up an appointment for servicing, so now I have to be here for them to tell me nothing its not broken. I will never buy another Maytag again.

Brand New 2017 Maytag Dishwasher MOB8959SFZ4 - The first time we used it it leaked from the door. I called the plumber back to make sure it was level and lined up properly and it was. Called the dealer, they sent a technician who sent away for a new latching mechanism. 3 weeks later the parts showed up. Technician installed them ran it through empty and no leaks problem solved? Nope. So I loaded it up and ran it again and it leaked. Called the dealer back but the technician is away on vacation. They suggested that the top rack might be pushing against the door for some reason when it is loaded so I removed everything from the dishwasher and ran it through again but it leaked again. Its something to do with the door not latching properly and it doesnt have a lever that locks like the old ones did. Its such a flimsy product. It baffles me that importers are getting away with bringing this crap into the country. Im now in week 5 with a brand new dishwasher that doesnt work. Maybe thats why its known for being one of the quietest dishwashers on the market.

I have a Model MBF 1958XES4 which I bought from Home Depot in June of 2012. It has leaked repeatedly onto my wood floor. The water also collects and freezes on the floor of the freezer. I already have warped floor boards as a result. I just got it fixed. The repair person said he has done over 200 of these repairs in the last year. He also said Maytag knows its a defect and has supplied them with replacement parts. The company apparently tells its repair companies not to discuss this with their customers. I have yet to contact Maytag, although apparently from others experiences that will be futile. Im willing to join others in pursuing this. I had a 40 year old Kelvinator which was still working well which I replaced with this refrigerator when I redid my kitchen.

Was very happy with choice when it arrived. Bought October of 2010. Now, this summer, nothing but problems. Honestly weekly cleaning of vents underneath, sheets of ice in freezer, refrigerator not staying cool, constant frost plugging areas, and no more ideas of how to make it work. I already quit with Kenmore after terrible problems with their appliances and now when Maytag doesnt stand up for years what are we supposed to buy? OUTRAGED with American quality of products and disposables. UGH!!!

Major issues with the Aqua Lift Range. Takes forever to preheat the oven, 15-20 minutes to reach 375 f- 400 f. Aqua clean cycle not efficient and does not clean at all. The stove top is impossible to select and keep the heat consistent. When adjusting the heat up or down when you slightly move the dial it overreacts. When moved the heat sways may more than selected. The fridge works well but the bottom drawer is way too flimsy and it wont last a long time as it will crack. This is our first purchase of Maytag appliances and it will be our last. I bought a Maytag dishwasher from Home Depot in February 2012, $700. After a few months, the buttons stopped working and the machine was unresponsive. I called Home Depot and they fixed it under the warranty. This continued to happen every 2-3 months. After a year of dealing with this, the warranty expired and I had to purchase the manufacturer extended warranty with Maytag, $240 for 5-years of coverage. The problem continued, and every few months, the thing would stop working and I would have to call for service - 2 to 4 weeks without a dishwasher waiting for service appointment then parts and another appointment for the repair.Perhaps my machine was just a lemon. I dont think they make that model anymore. Heres the number so that you can avoid a three year headache of a machine, MD87749 AWM2. I will say that after MANY agonizing phone calls with warranty company, after 2 years of ongoing service calls, they eventually issued me a check to replace my lemon.

We bought a Maytag Bravos XL assuming that because of the brand name it would be a great machine. WRONG. This washer is truly awful. Every single load of darks comes out covered in soap scum. I always have to rewash every dark load with no soap for a full normal cycle in order to get the scum off. My whites are probably also scummy but often I just throw them in the dryer as I cant see the scum. Its just a very, very poorly designed machine that obviously wasnt tested before they started manufacturing and selling it. Its criminal how Maytag continued to sell this piece of junk, and Ill never trust their brand again.

I bought a Maytag Gemini double oven gas range 5 burners (model MGT8885XS000), even air true convection cooking. Within 4 months, 1 of the gas valves (knobs to turn gas on with) froze. I could not turn one of the top burners off. Maytag came out and fixed it. Three months later, another one froze. Again Maytag came out and fixed it. Our warranty ended. Over the next year, all five burner valves have frozen. I called Maytag, told them what happened. The most they could do for me was to give me the part half off. So I can pay $200.00 for parts and pay for a repairman to come out and fix it. The oven cost $2,000.00. I am still paying for it. Chances are if I repaired it would break again.

Maytag Dryer model # MEDC400BW. I purchased this dryer in March 2015 the fuse went out in August. It is now November and it is out again! I have been buying Maytag since I left home at 18. I am 62 now, so I have been a loyal customer because Maytag was a great product. Not anymore since Whirlpool bought them out! You have to call them to schedule a technician and then it can take anywhere from 1 week to 3 depending on when they get the parts because they have to order them, and nobody else can come out to work on it if it is still under warranty! This is so lame and just not right.

We bought this range (model MER8700DS 1) March 25, 2015. Manual states when you use the oven first few times odor or smoke may happen and is normal. It also tells you this is not harmful but remove birds to another room because the fumes can kill them. Noxious fumes? Forget about the birds! Had to open up the whole house and go outside. Burned my eyes, throat and lungs. Day after day, repeatedly turned temp up to 400 trying to burn off what we thought might be a coating. No luck.Maytag got very concerned when I explained about the noxious fumes and had someone come out right away. Tech took it apart. He removed bottom (screwed in) plate that covers the bottom heating element. That plate gives the added ability to have 3 racks and make full use of the 6.3 cubic ft. capacity. Under the plate we found bits of insulation. We think that is what we smelt as it burnt up. He couldnt smell anything when he had it up to 400. So off he went thinking problem solved. Well, it still stinks. We will have Home Depot take it back. Oven takes forever to come to temp which we read in many complaints but thought thats minor. Dont know what oven to get instead since Whirlpool makes so many brand names. And other brands all seem to have their own problems.

Purchased a Maytag MSD2553WEW00 refrigerator on 2/27/2011 from Home Depot. Began using it in July 2012 upon completion of home construction. In February 2014, after less than two years of service, the refrigerator was running but no longer cooling. After the expense of several part replacements and a service call, it was determined that the compressor had failed. Unlike most manufacturers, Maytag did not warrant the compressor and closed system beyond 12 months. The refrigerator looks like new but the cost of repair is prohibitive relative to purchasing another new refrigerator. Maytag was contacted but was not helpful.

In March 2014 I purchased all my kitchen appliances from Home Depot. Everything was Whirlpool except the dishwasher, a Maytag. The floor in my kitchen is wood, and I noticed that the finish was coming up in the area around the dishwasher. I called an accredited service company and the technician said the appliance was not level and proceeded to do that. Next, tech #2 - dishwasher not level, fixed it - different company. Tech #3 - dishwasher not level, fixed it, said perhaps I did not load the appliance properly and water splashed out! Dishwasher continued to leak, floor continued to warp. Came back as #4 and decided it was the control in door. Ordered new one, installed it - dishwasher leaked. Called Maytag at that point. They refuse to accept that it is defective merchandise, will not replace it on my word. They need a tech to certify that it is unfixable. Tune in tomorrow. This will be #5. My best advise at this time is Do Not Buy a Maytag appliance. They will not stand behind their products! Home Depot order # below.. Appliance model #MDB8959SBS.

After less than 3 years the interior lip of the machine is rusting. I found this when I was cleaning the interior of the machine because my white clothes were coming out with black soot on them. I can estimate that bleach was used in the dispenser 3-4 times tops over these 3 years. Very disappointed in the equipment. Ive submitted a complaint to Maytag with hopes of a favorable response. We bought our Legacy Washer and Dryer from Home Depot in December, 2005. Luckily we also bought the one year warranty, because in January 2006, our washer quit running. We called Home Depot, we got the runaround and I think Maytag sent someone out. When he tipped the washing machine over, a belt was off. He said it happens. The next year, something else went wrong with the washing machine (not under warranty anymore) and I paid $129 for that visit. Three weeks ago, the spin dry quit doing a good job on the extended spin cycle. Tonight, I put a load of clothes in and though the washer sounded like it was agitating the clothes, when I lifted the top I saw it was just noise, no agitating. I cannot afford the service call, let alone the whole repair or a new washer.

Bought a Maytag Bravos XL washing machine because I thought it was a dependable brand. We have had it 14 months and the lid (upper left corner) will not stay connected. I called Maytag and the rep states to me Is it broken in the upper left corner and I replied yes. He continued he is just the parts guy, but every bravos has the same problem. I asked for the replacement part ($302), but he said the part is on back order for 60 days. He continued that maybe I should buy two because it will happen again. I only paid $700 for the washer, but it should never break down after 14 months. I highly recommend a different brand.

This Maytag Bravos HE machine has the poorest design! It doesnt use enough water on the normal cycle so I always have to use the bulky load just to get the clothes wet. The old washers used to spin the water out thus keeping the load even. This machine drains the water first and then tries to spin an uneven load! When this happens the machine bangs loudly from side to side, stops, refills with more water and starts the whole process again until it fixes its problem or until you go shake out the entire load and reposition everything. Then it uses more water to start the process all over again. It takes twice as long to do a load of laundry.Every time I use it I say I hate this machine! This machine should have never been released without extensive testing. Maytag could have figured out all of their own problems and fixed them so we wouldnt be writing all of these bad reviews. A recall should have been done years ago and the problems all fixed. I will never buy Maytag again!

Brand new washing machine model MHW8200FW purchased at Karls, a Ferguson subsidiary, in Madison, NJ end of June, 2017. I wanted to buy a top of the line machine and this is what the sales person recommended to me. Problems started soon after purchase. Initially I contacted Maytag because the machine wouldnt spin dry a cotton bath mat weighing 4.5lbs soaking wet. I was told I should put more items in the machine to help balance it. Well there WERE more items and the machine wouldnt spin dry them either. I tried every trouble shooting Maytag suggested. Having exhausted my nerves, I called for service. The technician came and said these machines are extremely sensitive and that sometimes they wont even run an empty cycle. He said this is a common complaint with these units. One of his suggestions was to take bath mats, duvets, comforters... articles like that to a laundromat.I did less than 10 wash cycles after his visit when the washer started having more issues and finally broke down completely. The technician who came this time wrote a repair order indicating a mechanical (Stator) AND electrical (Control Panel) breakdown ($500+ for the parts alone if the unit wasnt under warranty). He also stated that he had never seen such problems in a brand new machine.I contacted Maytag for an exchange. Maytag customer service wrote to me that the breakdowns are ... normal, with all the units we sell some may have a defect in the first couple of months... and refused to exchange my defective unit. I can accept that there may be a defect that will warrant a repair, but in this case there are multiple defects in separate systems - mechanical and electrical - within the first month of service. This shouldnt warrant any further discussion, only a quick replacement and an apology.

I purchased a Maytag front loader washer less than a year ago. Based on their deceptive advertising, Maytags rarely need service (model MHWE201YW00). There was a loud banging within 11 months. I called service for the additional warranty I purchased. The service man told me this machine is shot. The bearing completely broke and the drum was loose. They ordered 3 huge boxes, 3-1/2 feet cubes delivered to my house. I had to drag them into my garage where they have been sitting for two weeks. I am now 4 weeks without a washer with 4 kids. Ive called Corporate Headquarters and have spoken to their Corporate Board Gwenn and Jackyln who seem to think they can diagnose the problem. I told them the machine smelled like it was burning and the last load was dripping wet and the clothes smelled burnt. This is a stackable in my kids bedroom and I told them I was concerned about an electrical fire. Ive already missed one day of work for this. I am now being told Jan. 11, 2013 is when it can be serviced. That would be 2 months without a machine. They are willing to endanger my children with wet wires and an electrical fire. Mr. Fettig is impossible to get in touch with and this customer service center apparently has no supervisors. What they say, goes. A class action should be started against Mr. Fettig and his team of crooks who are putting crap out into the market place, falsely advertising it and then not backing up when their product breaks less than a year and becomes a possible hazard in someones home. Ive sent to his home address a UPS letter to Mr. Fettig, letting him know if a fire starts in my home due to water on the wet wires (water that got behind the drum because of the faulty bearing), water that was leaking from the bottom of the washer that I hold him and his company personally responsible. They have been alerted to the problem numerous times and ignore it. I spoke to their Safety department and I asked what to do if I smell a burning smell when the machine was running. They told me to immediately shut it off and unplug. Yet Whirlpool is trying to put a Band-aid on a machine that has already been infected with water damage to the wires. This has been such a frustrating, stressful experience. Even 5 weeks from now, when my replacement parts are put in, I will worry each time the machine is run if there will be a spark from the damaged wire. Something must be done legally to stop these crooks from doing to this and getting away with it. All they care about is their profit margin. The Whirlpool creed to their customers is a bunch of bull! Mr. Fettig vacations at his home on Dolphine Island, Alabama while hardworking people are scrambling around trying to figure out what happened to their new appliance that promised to work but is broken in less than a year. He vacations at his home in Florida while the hard-earned money you spent on his product is a waste.

We purchased a Maytag washer/dryer 5500 series in October of 2006. It was working good for the first few years, then gradually started failing on us. The clothes would not be clean or they would be soaked when done. Two days ago, on the board it kept blinking LR. So I checked all measures to make sure that it wasnt the motor or the front door lock. That door lock is a big pain! However, it happened to be both the motor and the bearing at the same. This is definitely not worth spending another $700 on. Goodbye Maytag, hello LG!

Approximately one week ago, the display on my fridge began to flash and ice door flap continuously opens and closes. Upon researching the issue, it seems to be a very common issue and a known defect. One in which was apparently a recall at one point. I was told by a Maytag representative that the recall was from 2007 to 2009 and has since expired. Expired? Its a known defect and should be the responsibility of Maytag to provide the parts and labor to repair the fridge. I asked for a supervisor and was told that one would contact me within 24 hours. Well, about a week later, I never received that call so I called Maytag again. This time I was told by the maytag representative and a supervisor that there was no recall and that it was a Quality issue. A play with words, in my opinion. Anyhow, regardless of the title the issue was given, I was told I would be responsible for the repairs and costs. I attempted to look up the recall on Maytags website and had seen the last two letters of the serial number to my fridge listed under the recall, but when I tried to investigate further, the site referred me to the 800 phone number I had been calling. Now, had this been an issue that was not a known defect and apparently a recall, I wouldnt be writing on this site right now. But, because it is a known defect that maytag is aware of, I think its Maytags responsibility to pay for the parts and labor for my fridge.

My dishwasher, purchased in 2013 sings the same tune as many of these complaints...stopped working correctly, turned on whenever it wanted to, etc. Thought it was the cpu...no. Called Whirlpool and they gave me the same runaround that they give everyone...more money for a temporary fix. Did some more research that led me here and discovered that the ribbon cable leading to the control panel was fried due to heat and moisture. Easy to check for yourself... looks like brown crap on the cable...if you have a meter, you can easily check it. Tried to repair it, very difficult, but I tried. NEWS?...I wrote a complaint to the Better Business B... and mentioned that this is a safety issue, which it is.Believe it or not, just received a call from the corporate office (Whirlpool) and they were interested...I actually got their attention. They said they would have someone contact me... she did today... so this is encouraging. I dont know what they are offering, but this poor design is a serious problem, and if you want to get in Whirlpools face better go through the BBB. I already have purchased a new part and am adding silicone to the cable to protect it from the heat...but Im really seeking full reimbursement because this is not going to end well. Good luck...

Like most people with this Bravos machine, I am 3 months out of warranty and the ball bearing is trash. When the wash goes into spin cycle, it makes a loud clicking noise and takes a few minutes to start spinning. I called service repair and he told me that it was the ball bearing and to talk with them as he has dealt with quite a few high end machines from Maytag that are breaking down after warranty. I should have realized there was a problem when we kept coming up with white spots on our clean laundry and would have to re-rinse clean clothes. This kind of defeats the water saver that is advertised with the machine.Do not buy this product. For a high end washer and dryer, there are many problems. Maybe that is why the Maytag guy is not shown sleeping in commercials any longer. Hes too busy fixing all these machines. Btw, they wont cover the part even though I offered to pay for the service. Both work good. Washer could be a little lower and it has quit rinsing and I cannot use it. But it is 9 years old, I think for their age they were a good buy. I plan to get the washer repaired because have been satisfied with how clean it gets my clothes and it washes pretty quick. I got the large capacity and with a very large load the washer gets them clean. The dryer is very good. It is just as good on a large load as small, dries quick. I would buy this type washer and dryer again and would definitely recommend it to folks. I have been very happy with this washer and dryer. The paint is coming off the washer where you put detergent and fabric softener in and it has rusted out some but it is getting a little age on it so this is expected. I like it, I can throw my comforter in and it gets it clean and the large loads always come out great. I think anyone who bought the set would be very happy with it. It is also quiet which I like.

We would have to haul the washer to his shop and he would have to tear apart the washer to fix. He said it would be a big job to fix and we would be out of a washer for a few days.I also had contacted Menards shortly after we purchased the machine and they told us to contact Maytag. They wanted nothing to do with us and didnt want to stand behind a product that they had sold. Getting major warranty work done on a NEW washer makes no sense to me. Is there any place to give a zero to this Maytag Front Load Washing Machine
Is there any place to give a zero to this Maytag Front Load Washing Machine Model MHW5500FW1 and if there is a class action lawsuit please include us! We have owned other Maytag Washing Machines and never experienced such an epic failure as we have with this washing machine! We were so excited when we purchased our new Maytag washer/dryer set in March of 2018 we even remodeled our pantry/laundry room to accommodate them! As the chief operator of the washing machine, I have literally cried at what a mistake weve made! We have no complaint of the Maytag dryer. Let me describe my new normal procedure for laundering a load of clothes. First, load the washer with clothes then press power/cancel then press rapid wash let the clothes get HOPEFULLY saturated with water then hit hold to start and then hit power/cancel this shuts off the washing machine. I then press power/cancel again and select normal and the water empties out of the washing machine from the prior load and then starts to refill, if the add a garment light comes on (when it wants too) and no I dont change any pre-set settings I am able to add extra water with a pitcher, if this procedure works I let the washer run its 1-hour and 48-minute cycle. If not, I have to start over again because the add garment light wouldnt come on to allow the door to unlock. After the clothes are finished I again press power/cancel then hit rapid wash put my fabric softener in the dispenser press hold to start and let it run its 36-minute cycle making sure my clothes are rinsed appropriately and not stiff because of the lack of water. I neglected to say that when Ive tried tricking the washer and think I am able to add extra water, if Ive added too much the sensing kicks in and the washing machine drains all the water out on its own and refills with the little water it allows! Which is maddening! I throw up my hands and sit down and cry!!! I have contacted Maytag/Whirlpool complaining about the lack of water and their wacky water sensor! I asked them how can you conserve water and electricity when you have to wash your clothes over and over with long wash cycles? This doesnt make sense! My white clothes are now dingy and stiff as well as the colored. Maytag says you can use powdered detergents if its HE High Efficiency powdered detergents, but thats not true. The detergent doesnt dissolve and ends up on the clothes at the end of the long wash cycle because of the lack of water! From the beginning I adjusted the amount of powdered detergent for the front load washer and have to dissolve it in hot water prior to washing and hopefully am able to add it to the clothes if the add a garment will let me! I have now resorted to extra cycles to rinse out any remaining detergent hoping my clothes will be soft and fresh smelling. I had planned to replace my old Maytag agitator washing machine with this piece of junk front loader, fortunately we kept our old washing machine as a back up!

We bought a new Maytag Bravo series thinking we were buying the best product... not! The washer has been running great. But when it came time to clean the washer on the Affresh cycle, the washer overflowed. It turns out the washer fills up higher on the Affresh cycle than it does on the regular wash cycles. Well, that’s why it overflowed; the plastic tub that hold the water had a freaking crack in it near the top! This washer isnt even 3 months old. I had to get a repairman in here once to check it out, then again to come back and fix it. At least it was under warranty. Im afraid what else will happen. Piece of crap Maytag, great quality checks! Maybe hire some real people that can see what the hell they are doing in quality. I told them about the damages to my basement. They sent me paperwork to fill out. Forget it, the paperwork gives you the runaround!

Our washer ran great until last week. Had repairman in. User interface died after 18 months use. $250 for the part plus labor. This is a $1000 washer. Buyer beware. Maytag is just another name for any washer in the Whirlpool lineup. Uses the same parts. Has the same issues. Should have bought a Speed Queen.

I purchased a Maytag quiet series dishwasher (Model Number: MDB6759AWW) for $500.00 in May 2009. Three months later, I started experiencing difficulty with the control panel. One light would continue to blink and it would not do anything else. I called to have it repaired but by the time he was to come out, it started working again only to stop working again the next week. On 7 Oct 09, the repairman came out and replaced the panel. Then, about six months later, it stopped working again. I called again but canceled the appointment because it started working again. Then, after having it for one year, it stopped working again and I called only to be told that it was no longer under warranty. Now, we cant get the control panel to do anything. From all the other similar complaints I have read, it seems like there is a defect with the control panel. A dishwasher should last for more than one to two years. This is very frustrating.

I have had my washer and dryer for more than 5 years. As normal, over time, stuff wears out and parts need to be replaced. The manual doesnt list part numbers that are needed. The website doesnt pull up part numbers when you type in the model number. After paying for overnight shipping that isnt guaranteed (and was more than the part itself), it didnt show up until a couple of days later and it was the wrong part. I would have to pay for shipping costs of the return, now tripling the cost of the actual part. Calls to customer service were not at all helpful as all they could say was that I would have to pay for the return shipping and they were sorry there was nothing they could do. I wont be purchasing anything from Maytag ever again.

After one year, this famous Neptune washing machine began to sound so noisy during the spin cycle that neighbors must have thought a 747 was taking off from our house. After researching the web, I found that the main bearing always fails in this machine and there is a new one-man repair industry started up across the US to just replace these bearings. In fact, someone invented a bearing puller just for this problem. I am deeply disappointed that a once fine company would knowingly put out such trash. I am replacing ours with another brand, even though we have used Maytag for 30 years. Customers always determine who wins and who loses in the long run. Bye, Maytag!

We had a Maytag washer and dryer for over 32 years, the same washer and dryer. Finally our washer failed. We thought it would be a good idea to stick with Maytag. My husband purchased the Bravos XL Maytag washing machine. It is the worst washing machine ever and I regret the purchase. The washing machine doesnt clean clothes. If you use a powdered soap of any kind it leaves residue all over your clothes due to the fact it doesnt use enough water. It binds everything up. It becomes unbalanced with any larger load. Completely ties your sheets and your pants into knots. Yes literally I pull my clothes out and they are in a knot. The washer started to leak about two months ago after having it for a year-and-a-half. We couldnt locate the leak so we had to call a repairman and it cost us over $240 in parts and labor.

I purchased a Maytag washer on 7/23/11 from HHGregg. The salesperson told us they would highly recommend the new (HE) washer and said that everyone will start selling these only. So I bought your Maytag HE washer Centennial commercial brand. My complaint is my clothes dont seem to get clean. I have started putting less clothes in each load to see if that would help and it does not seem to help. When my clothes still come out smelling like my perfume and there are dry spots on my clothes, this tells me my clothes are not getting cleaned. I also have very sensitive skin. If my clothes were not rinsed good enough, I itch very bad. I called the store I bought this at and the salesperson I spoke with also said there were other complaints about HE washers. When you turn it on and wait til it starts washing, look in there with the lid open... theres barely any water! The clothes on top stay dry! The only way to wash your clothes in it is to add three-3 gallon buckets of water at the start of each STAGE of EACH cycle! My wife showed me after three months of washing clothes like this. I purchased the washer and dryer approx 6 or 7 years ago. Out of the gate about a year the pump had to be replaced on the washer- 2010. 1/2012 the tub needed to be replaced, 6/2012 the PUMP needed to be replaced again! Then 2013 the dryer need a new board at the tune of $391.00. And today, yes - yet once again I need a new pump! Over $2,000 in repairs on these awful machines. I called Maytag because I thought maybe they would care - not so much. The rep told me that the Bravos models were discontinued (shocker) but that she could give me a discount on a new comparable version at ONLY $600. How nice! I will use these until they fail again - which according to history - that wont take long and then I will NEVER EVER EVER purchase a Maytag product again. We work hard for our money and continually giving it to a company (for parts) for a product that they failed to make a quality product is not going to happen again! DO NOT BUY MAYTAG. Do your research and give your money to companies that care. MAYTAG should be held accountable and a class action suit should be filed. They need to GET IT and they never will if we sit back and let them take advantage of consumers.

We bought the Maytag Aqualift cooktop about a year ago & are continuously dissatisfied with it, for several reasons: 1) the cooktop is a huge nuisance to cook on. The burners are either raging hot (causing boil-overs), or too cool to simmer. The boil-overs then require much cleaning with an expensive cleaning agent. 2) the oven, whether you use regular or convection, underheats - so you can’t tell how long the cooking or baking process will take, & you have to monitor the cooking process. 3) the so-called self-clean is a joke; the oven will not be clean unless you crawl inside & clean it manually. Overall, I’d prefer to toss this range in the trash. I’m a good cook, but I get angry every time I use this expensive, poorly- designed product.

Purchased our Maytag in October 2009. From the beginning it would make loud, popping noises occasionally but seemed to work just fine. At the time of purchase, we opted to buy the 5 year extended warranty for $125.00 (just in case). Here we are at seven months after that warranty is no longer any good and the freezer leaks all over the floor and we have to keep a towel at the bottom to soak it up.This morning I wake up to the panel being completely out and fridge is not running at all!!! We thought when we purchased our Maytag that we were buying the best of the best... not even close! We just paid for an expensive piece of junk! Who has the extra money just lying around to go buy a new fridge? Not us! This is unacceptable!!! I have read other reviews that sound pretty much exact to our experience with this refrigerator. I hope somehow they can and will be held responsible for putting this product on the market knowing full well it is an over-priced piece of junk.

I purchased a Maytag Front-Loading Washing machine. It was purchased on 11/30/15. Approximately this January, 2017 the spin cycle stopped getting all the water out of the laundry. Towels came out wet, shirts came out wet and I tried washing a small bathroom rug that came out of the washer dripping with water. My husband called Maytag to tell them about this issue. They told him I didnt know how to load the washer machine. Wow, I have only been using washing machines for 45 years and now I dont know how to load a machine. Then they said they will send him a video to watch on how to load a washing machine. I watched it. I wasnt doing anything incorrectly. (Maybe someone should send them a video on how to build a proper washing machine.) I previously had a Maytag Neptune machine that lasted twenty years until there was a class action suit against the machine. The clothes came out fine from that machine. I just purchased an Electrolux front loader that works beautifully. Now I have a Maytag machine that is nothing but a piece of junk in my opinion. It cost $824.21. I will never buy a Maytag machine EVER. MHW7100DW.

I would have given this washer/dryer a 0 star, but wasnt able to. Bought the pair and first thing, couldnt get enough water in the tub, clothes wallowing around for an hour in the few cups of dirty water that it allows. Cant even believe how terrible this combo washer and dryer is! Now I get to wash everything in this piece of ____ twice, thank you Maytag! Just took out a load and it is dingy and stinks, so now its wet, on the floor waiting its turn to go back for another wash (possibly even a third). If you want clean clothes, do NOT get this washer. Dryer has issues also. For whatever reason, the AF signal has been on for a couple of months. Turn it off and back on and its okay for a bit, then back on. Its the Air Filter. Its not plugged, so I dont know, I just keep using it with intervals of resetting it altogether. What a total waste of money. Am going to give it away for free as soon as I find a replacement! Save yourself a huge headache and look elsewhere than Maytag. Oh, and if Maytag happens to read my review, you can contact me for a refund any time, just respond to this post, you can even come pick it up and get it out of my home. Thanks a bunch!

I have had a Maytag Bravo Model MVWX500XW0. Bought less than 3 yrs ago for over $550. Four days ago, the drum would not turn during wash or spin. It would act like it was going to turn but then the door lock lid kept flashing. Today Maytag repairman came by and put in a new lock circuit. Instead of fixing the problem, it made it worse. The washer started making rapid clicking sounds and finally the lid lock stopped working altogether. The repairman could not get his computer to even do a diagnostic. Instead he calls his boss who says it must be the motherboard, a $300 part. My research indicates that Maytag almost always says replace motherboard and customers find that doesnt work either. Ive never had a washer last less than 10 years. Three years for a high-priced washer is mind boggling. Ive also never had a repairman make things worse by installing new part but that happened. We purchased a Maytag Washer and Dryer from The Home Depot in September of 2017. We did not purchase the extended warranty because of our confidence in the brand. Within less than a year, both appliances started making noises. By September of 2018, the washer sounded like it had a bag of mice squeaking inside every time we ran a load and had stopped spinning entirely. I called and spoke to a very kind lady who assured me that even if we were outside the one year manufacturers warranty, they would offer us the extended warranty without question because it was so close to the one year purchase. She took my credit card, we were charged for a five year plan and service was scheduled. After service, both units were still louder than I would prefer but the technician said it was common. Over the last few months, both have become louder and louder. Now the dryer shuts off and wont stay on. When I called back to schedule service again, the date of our purchase was all of a sudden in question. (I applied for the contract over the phone so THEIR rep entered the purchase date.) They are now telling us they will only honor the cost of parts and we are subject to pay for diagnostics and labor (which is the largest cost of repair). They are telling us our contract has to be cancelled and AFTER we receive and PAY FOR all but the parts, we can call and pay for a NEW contract. This has been the WORST appliance purchase we have EVER made and we have lost all confidence in the quality of Maytag/Whirlpool appliances. Both units have been VERY disappointing and we spent over $700 on each unit. NEVER AGAIN.

We purchased a Maytag French Door Refrigerator with a bottom freezer in 2010. About 6 months ago, we noticed water leaking out the front of the refrigerator. We recently called Maytag service and were told that the refrigerator pan was too small and they would order it and have the independent contractor replace it. The woman I spoke with said that Maytag has been having a lot of complaints about this as the pan put in the refrigerator was too small. In my opinion - an obvious design flaw. The service tech came to our house today with a larger drain...not a pan as I had been told by Maytag (Maytag is the one who ordered the drain to be put in). We ended up paying an unexpected $209 (Pan vs. drainage replacement is a lot more expensive). Needless to say, we are upset for having to pay $209 for a Maytag design flaw as well as not being told upfront what the correct part was that was being ordered. We called Maytag and were told there was nothing they could do because its not on the recall list (yet) and because we didnt buy the extended warranty. We are feeling like suckers and will never buy another Maytag.

I have the Maytag Bravos washer and dryer. The machine has broken several times every year, and every year, Maytag makes me feel like it is my fault. They built a machine, and they do not stand behind it. And I cannot get a local machinist to work on it. I have asked Maytag to replace it from the start, and they refused, telling me its out of warranty. The only thing out of warranty is the frame--all parts are new. Here is the history:On 1/04/2008, I purchased it from Home Depot, and it cost $815. Then in 4/2009, there was an F51 code, and Maytag replaced the mother board after long hold times and much pleading to help me. They said they could do nothing, because it was out of warranty. It took manager to manager to manager to get the agreement to extend the warranty. (I then found that this was a regular Maytag issue.)From 9/2010 to 10/2010, an ld code occurred. The approved Maytag scheduled service had to come out 4 different times to attempt to fix the issue. One time, they said it was broken wires for the drain pump. The next, it was off balance; and the next, it was a sensor. Then the next time, they replaced the mother board again, and again after much argument that the part was less than a year old. Each time, they get more and more difficult to deal with and made me feel more and more like I am asking them for something unreasonable. The service guys said the washer was like new.... All new parts and I would never have a problem again. It cost $80 after argument, and Maytag covered the parts.Last 2/2011, problems include a fast spin, ld code, and off balance; and it stopped working. It needed new suspension rods which cost $250. Maytag paid nothing. Then in 8/2011, ld code started again, and I would have to turn off to drain and then restart to spin. Maytag called in a service call, and they never showed up. Every time, they said they read over my file and that theres nothing they can do to help me. And no one else for me to speak to.In 10/2011, the ld code came on permanently. The Maytag call I made this time again said there was nothing they could do to help me.I am so frustrated; I dont know what to do next. I threw away an older set working washer and dryer, thinking I made a great decision to upgrade to this new set. Now my family of 5 cannot wash our clothes. No one will work on the washers locally, and Maytag treats me like Im complaining for nothing and I should just spend endless dollars to fix this machine. And Im at a loss. I had to get a part for the dryer the other day, and the parts store person told me that this washer is one of Maytags mistakes. if that is so, why wont they help me?
