We purchased a new Maytag Bravos X washer and dryer from Lowes in June of 2013. After a year and a half of normal use (2 people in the household) the washer needs a new gearbox bearing at a repair cost of $529.00. I called Maytag and spoke to a customer service representative who informed me that there was nothing they could do about it because it was past the one year warranty. I asked to speak with a supervisor who told me they would offer me a 50% discount on the bearing but would not pay for the repair work (the cost of the bearing is approximately $25).Needless to say I will not be having the washer repaired. We will be purchasing a new washer and it WILL NOT be a Maytag, Whirlpool or any other brand made by that company. Its just appalling to think a company like Maytag can scam customers the way they do by producing appliances that are of such poor quality and then offer third rate customer service on top of it. Maytags answer to the whole issue is selling everyone an extended warranty which we all know is as bogus as the companys integrity!!!

Just had the repairman here. This machine is computerized so it won’t last. It does not have a setting that lets me do any load of laundry the way I need to do it. I have to use heavy duty to do a load and then it takes 2 hours. When I want to do a load of sweaters on delicate it will not put near enough water in the machine to wash them. The normal cycle does not add enough water to wash, let alone rinse the clothes. I can’t choose the size of the load based on how much I need to wash so I have to do more loads at 2 hours each or do everything on bulky. Whoever came up with all this needs to be fired. I am extremely unhappy with this machine and I have loved Maytag for years. No more.

My washer is less than 3 years old when I noticed the bleach dispenser has filled with water. I soaked the water out with a towel only to have it fill again the next time I washed. This in addition to the feeling I have that too much soap is left in clothes and spot removal is pretty consistently negligible.

Our Maytag dishwasher was just past the 1-year mark when the control panel stopped working. A certified Maytag repair service came out to diagnose just that and charged us $89. Maytag sent the user interface out to us, and my husband noted that there was absolutely no way that the part could be installed wrong. The wires could only go one way. The repair service (DSM Appliance Service) wanted another $120 to install it. We installed it, and it still doesnt work. Maytag will no longer assist us in any way. I will never buy a Maytag or Whirlpool appliance again. After investigating, I see that this control panel issue has happened many, many times; and I wonder why there hasnt been something done about it.

Bought a washer and dryer from Lowes in June of 2016. Have had service on the dryer 3X and washer 1X since. Two person household that uses product a couple times a week. Dryer drum stops rotating / temp control fails / buzzer doesnt work / motor freezes up / washer makes loud banging sound at the end of the cycle every time....sounds like someone is hitting it with a hammer....Today I want a local serviceman to replace the motor but Maytag insists that I have one of their reps come out next Tuesday to examine the product and then go from there. I have been on the phone for 45 minutes trying to get them to pay me $128 for the failed motor that I will send them for inspection. They will not cooperate. They are hiding behind some BS policy. I want to inform you all in case you are contemplating a Maytag purchase. I will not purchase nor will I recommend Maytag to anyone.

I have Maytag dishwasher model # MDB7609AWB2. I purchased it from Sears on 5.30.10. It was installed 3 weeks later. From June 2010 through November 2011, the dishwasher has stopped working 3 times, every 6 months, requiring a service call to fix the electrical /circuit board problems. The aggravation of owning a poorly built machine and inconvenience of waiting for Sears to send a repair person has sealed our decision to stop doing business with Sears and Maytag.

I bought a new Maytag stove and it is less than two years old and the oven has already quit working. It only has a one year warranty and will cost about $200 to fix. I am very dissatisfied with what I thought was a good product.

I also purchased a Maytag refrigerator model #MBR1953YES3 at Home Depot less than 2 yrs. ago. A year had not passed and I noticed the freezer starting to freeze up. Water started to leak from the bottom freezer. My husband had to break chunks of ice that clogged the drain but still, it continues to freeze. We hired a certified technician to clean the drain but a few days later, a puddle of water appeared all over our kitchen. Now we have a towel to stop the water from coming under the refrigerator. I thought when I was buying a Maytag, I was buying the best. I now know that, it was the biggest mistake. I will think twice before ever considering buying a Maytag again.

I have owned several dishwashers thru the years and my favorite is Maytag. Maytag is quiet, barely hear it running which is rare for a dishwasher, dependable and plenty of space for dishes, pot and pans etc. I wouldnt have any other but Maytag. Also has several options for dishwashing which is a big plus. Love Maytag!!!

I am angry at my Maytag! It sprays water on clothes that is not enough to soak them or let the detergent to be dissolved especially for towels. Hopelessly, I Hand Wash my towels, rinse in tub then just put them in the machine to spin. BAD BAD :( :( Is it possible to increase the water amount?

WOW! I cant believe I bought a Maytag MDB7749AWM1 Dishwasher without reading any reviews. Paid $650 for it a couple of years ago and the control panel is bad. $390 to repair it, unbelievable! Sounds like Maytag has a major customer service problem because I will NEVER BUY A MAYTAG DISHWASHER again! Spent $5000 grand on new Maytag appliances thinking they were the best to replace the outdated ones. Not the same, not sure what youre doing Maytag but youre losing a lot of loyal customers. What a shame! My old dishwasher lasted over 18 years and I didnt have any problems. 2 years? Come on!!! Same problem as the other 5000 people, someone needs a career change!

Recently purchased a washer from Home Depot. Machine is now on its 3rd repair. The wiring harness is fired. Could have caused a fire. Now they still will not replace and part is on order which will take 4 weeks to be in stock. I called Maytag and expressed my concerns to which they could not help me as every washer is theirs can be repaired. I really don’t understand what happened to making things right. Very frustrated that they will not repair or reimburse for that matter. Please refund my mom and pick it up.

Maytag Neptune Stacked Electric Washer & Dryer. Had to buy a motor for Washer but lasted 12 years before giving problems again; then couldnt find anyone that would service for cheaper than $100 for just coming to your house plus $75 an hour for labor. Thats HIGHER than my billable rate! Rip-off Service & parts charges. Found out it was easier & cheaper to troubleshoot ONLINE myself using FIXYA site and others. Expense for an appliance above what most run ~ 1500 for both units. Plus if it doesnt have or offer a 5-year warranty then something is wrong with the quality! Maytag Neptune Series MLE2000AYW 27 Inch Electric Laundry Center with 3.34 Cu. Ft. Washer Capacity, 4 Wash Cycles and 6.0 Cu. Ft. Dryer Capacity, 3 Dry Cycles: White. Worst part on this model was a WAX MOTOR that they used for the Washer to control the door being closed or open. Next worst DESIGN error was they didnt put a drain hole in the plastic rim seal for the Washer door, that area would build up mold & mildew if you didnt learn to keep Washer door open at all times AFTER a wash. We learned by removing the light bulb! Therefore it was easy for my crew to learn to leave the door open after washing. This model was Energy star certified and had a long life here 12 years. Unfortunately I think they build these things to only last 10 years; then you have to replace them. In years gone by... the 1970s Washing machines and dryers would last 20 years!!

This machine does a great job at cleaning clothes. The clothes are always great in color, and removal of removable spots. The cycles are not too long and the machine is not noisy. Machine is nice looking and water cycles can be normal or large.

We bought this from our local big box retailer paying $433.87 after installation, the oven, haul away and home delivery. Two years and 3 months later its a boat anchor. Display is cold and dark after stating we needed to open and close the door before it would heat. We did but it kept displaying the same message. Unplugged it, turned circuit off per Maytag customer service line, still nothing. It is no longer made and you cant get parts. It is useless. The 10 year warranty just covers the magnet and the cavity.

I purchased this machine less than 1 month ago. Have had tech here twice - he cant find anything wrong with machine. As for large capacity it will hold a lot of clothing, but will not clean them. I have had to put less than a 1/4 of tub full of clothing (about 15 small items). Use high water level, extra rinse, then rinse and spin again to get the 2 tablespoons of HE soap off my clothing. Takes over 2.5 hours to wash about 15 items. I have called Maytag and they will not back their product. I purchased at Home Depot and they said they have to do what Maytag says. Sending another tech out in 2 more weeks. Takes more water, more electricity, and more time to wash clothes than ever before.

I bought a Maytag Refrigerator (Model No. MFT2672AEM10; Serial No. K31503192) on 05/13/2013 at LOWES. On 07/27/2013 my son got hospitalized due to some kind of infection. He had fever and diarrhea that didnt go away. We didnt know what caused it. When my wife was cleaning the refrigerator, she noticed that the ice bin container had a rusty screw and metal plate. Why is the ice bin screw/metal plate rusting? We informed Maytag about this issue and they replaced the ice bin. Now, the replacement ice bin is rusty again. I sent an e-mail to the Maytag Customer Service Manager on 04/20/2015 and was told that its no longer covered by the warranty. I informed the manager that this is a defective/flawed design/rusting part from the beginning and Maytag should have REDESIGNED it when I informed them first hand and not just replaced it with the same defective/flawed/rusting part. I told the manager that this is a safety concern and Maytag needs to do something about it. The Customer Service Manager I talked to didnt want to do anything about it.

We purchased our Maytag 4000 series washer and dryer (Model: MHWE450) in December 2010 from Best Buy. For the first six months or so, we were very happy. We started to notice that the washer was getting a little louder by the month. I checked the level multiple times to be sure that wasnt the issue. Assuming it was just part of how the washer broke in, I just let it go - a bad move! Fourteen months after I purchased the set, the washer flooded all over the floor. I opened the washer and pieces of plastic were all over our clothes. After further inspection, the drain was completely full of the same plastic. I cleaned it all up only to find that the washer tub was so loose that it was banging side to side.I called Maytag to ask for help or suggestions. They basically told me that I was out of warranty and kind of out of luck. I responded that we do a total of four to five loads of clothes per week and that there was no reason that this commercial series washer should have failed after 14 months. They offered a one-time service plus extended service contract. Feeling that I had no choice, I spent almost $400 assuming that I had a fixed washer and a year extra warranty. I was told that someone would be out to look at the washer in three days. Finally, after me pressing and pressing, someone showed up a week later. He put a list together of all of the items that were needed to repair the washer.Two days later, Maytag service calls and says that the washer will be too expensive to repair and they would be giving me a reimbursement for buying a new one. They didnt have an exact amount yet. Two more days later, they finally called me with an offer of around $550 ($250 less than what I paid) based on their research of what I should be able to find one for and directed me to the website. One big catch though - it didnt include the $125 shipping charge. When I called to request for it to be paid as well, they declined with basically a “take it or leave” type of attitude. Not knowing what to do, I called every local appliance store until I found someone that had two in stock. When I went to look at them, I was told that both of the ones that they had were rebuilt because that model Maytag washer had a major issue with the bearing and basically needed to be replaced on all of them.Luckily, I was able to buy the washer and a five-year extended service contract for around $690. So in the end, I paid $799 for the new washer, $400 for a warranty, another $100 to replace the washer, and close to $100 in laundry mat costs for three weeks. I promised everyone that I spoke to with Maytag that I would write a review to share my story and thats why I wrote this. The repair plus warranty is a joke. I like this washer/dryer but will never buy another Maytag appliance again. Next time, I will buy extended service contract from the start.

Bought a Maytag microwave model MMV4205DS and I too have had an issue with open/close door display. Just like other reviews Ive read it started out once in a while for the first year then began happening more often til it stopped working by the second year. I also read someone asking why there isnt a class action lawsuit? Good question. Way too many bad reviews on same issue. If I knew how and if we could start one then I would. Thought we could trust a company thats been around for so many years. Wish we had check into it more and I have learned from other products to do just that from now on. Have a backup microwave by GE from WalMart weve had for 10 yrs still working.

The machine started having issues within a week of purchase. The current issue is, when running the clean cycle, the washer becomes stuck in a mode where it is constantly adding and duping water down the drain. First time it happened, I started the clean cycle before going to bed. In the morning the machine was still in the clean cycle. Running water in the tub and pumping back out down the drain. The water heater ran all night, as the washer was filling and draining the tub at the same time. Each time we attempt run the clean cycle, the washer locks up in this mode.This is the only issue I have had. Many people complain about wrinkled clothes and I agree. I take each garment out the washer and shake it out before putting it in the dryer, this makes a huge difference. Just remember, this is not your mothers washer. It does a great job at cleaning the clothes and saves many gallons of water a month.

We have a Maxima washer which is about two years old. The tub around the barrel cracked and flooded the laundry room. The repair person said it would cost more to fix than replace. Very unsatisfied. We are trying to deal with the company but not optimistic.

The first washer my husband and I ever purchased was a somewhat cheap top loader but it worked very well for over 10 years. We decided to fall for a bargain sale at Home Depot and went with the HE Bravos model. We were told that it would save us money and work great! From day one weve had issues. It never really seemed to clean right. It gets thrown off balance if you have more than one bath towel in a load at a time. After an angry call to the company and a somewhat helpful customer service rep, I began washing every load at the deep clean heavily soiled cycle and then did an extra rinse to boot. So much for energy efficient. So, fast forward 4 years, I HATE this washer but cant justify a new one at this time. Now, it stops mid cycle and I have to unplug it then plug it back in and restart it. When this happens, there is an awful smell. Needless to say, well be buying a new washer within a week or 2 and you can bet your life, it will NOT be a Maytag.

We bought a Maytag Neptune front loading washer from Bens Maytag in Surrey four years ago and it has been nothing but trouble. There is no screen in the machine to prevent small things (like coins, screws) from going behind the rubber seal and into the pump. As a result, coins frequently block off the outflow to the pump so the machine doesnt drain.We have had to pay for service calls more times than we can count, and have spent more than original price of the machine making repairs and replacing the pump. We now have learned to take off the hoses and open the pump to remove coins ourselves, which we have to do every few weeks! Bens Maytag tells us that its our fault for letting coins go in the wash. There is no accountability for the faulty design of the machine that allows this to happen. We should have cut out losses and thrown this piece of junk out three years ago. We want Maytag to take responsibility for the faulty design of this product and to credit at least our purchase price toward another machine that works properly!

My washer is about one-year-old. Several months ago I noticed a brand new shirt was damaged after laundering. I thought it was inferior material. A couple of months later I saw a similar situation with another garment and started being more careful with the laundry settings using delicate, short, light washes, etc. The problem has happened a THIRD time to another garment. It appears this washer has a hunger for delicate jersey type fabrics. I started reading online and found out at it is indeed the action of the agitator and I need help rectifying the situation.

We purchased a Maytag Bravo Washer and Dryer in late 2007. We had a one-year warranty on the set. At just over 2 years, we started having problems with the washer. It started making a loud noise when spinning and started beeping all the time during the cycles. We contacted Maytag and they said the only thing they could do for us was to sell us an extended/repair warranty for $320.00. If the cost of fixing the machine was too much, they had the option to replace it with another machine equal to the value of the machine in todays market, or cash, or a gift card equal to that.We were angry about the cost of the warranty and we were unemployed at the time and couldnt afford that so we just had to let it go. The machine progressively got worse where only two of the cycles would work, but not without beeping several times where you had to fix the load, and the sound got so loud it sounded like you had a jet plane just overhead. Just the other day it completely quit working. We have been in contact with Maytag several times but their only answer is their repair warranty. Weve talked to numerous appliance repairman, who all knew exactly what was wrong because they have seen it so many times, and they told us that we have several things going wrong with the machine we would probably need a new drum, a new drain pump and a new control board.We were told that it would cost more to just buy the parts than it would be to buy a new machine. In the course of our phone calls to Maytag, they have continually told us that they are sorry but there is nothing they can do, in fact they only have record of two of our calls (how convenient!). Since experiencing the issues with the machine, we have researched it online and found that scores of consumers are dealing with the exact same problems we are having which shows that there are defects in the manufacturing of these machines. Maytag should be forced to fix these problems. They are well aware of them and they should have to back up their products.There should be a class action lawsuit out against them. We were told by an appliance repairman that Whirlpool (who bought out Maytag) has a washer called Cabrio that is the exact same model as the Bravo and that they do have a class action lawsuit out against this model. Consumers that purchased the Bravo should be included in that lawsuit. I am stuck with a broken down washer, mildewing clothes and dont know where to turn outside of paying out the money for the extended warranty with no guarantee of what we would get out of it, purchasing a used set with no guarantee, or putting out the expense for a new set.This set was an expense set and we went with Maytag because they used to have a good reputation, but we feel like we have been totally cheated. If the appliance companies were forced to offer a longer warranty on their products, they would have to manufacture them at a higher standard. For the cost of these new machines this is exactly what we as consumers should expect. Please help us to know which direction to go. Even with purchasing a new machine we are apprehensive!

We bought this refrigerator one year & 3 months ago & we have had various issues that are now no longer covered under the warranty. The pantry drawer has a peg on the side that is plastic & broke off on the right side. Will have to replace the whole right side panel. One of the door handles is coming loose which should be an easy fix, but its just annoying that it happened at all. Now the control panel is reading OFF/OFF & isnt responding at all. Tried unplugging for 10 secs, then plug it back in, but no luck. I cannot find any info online regarding this issue, so we will have to call Maytag. Hopefully, there is an easy resolution to this problem & we wont have to buy a new motherboard.

I have an MFD2560HEB refrigerator that I purchased 6 years ago. I paid a premium price for what I thought was a quality product. It has had issues with the ice maker from the beginning, yet I was always able to get it fixed with unplugging the unit for a while. The fan inside the unit stopped working last year. I took apart the entire inside to replace it, and now, 4 months later, the water is completely frozen. Unfortunately, I purchased a Maytag induction stove in May and less than a month later, it is not working either. Maytag quality is not! I asked if I could return the stove, but was told I had to let them fix it. Im still waiting to use my $2,000 stove!

When my stackable washer finish its complete cycle, there is water left in the tub. You can manually turn the tub and you can hear water sloshing around.

I purchased a new Maytag top loader at Home Depot. They delivered and set up. From the first load, I have had problems with the washer stopping and jerking. Clothing becomes a tangled mess. I contacted Maytag, they suggested I make sure I put on proper setting for the items within the washer. I do not know how one can fail at putting sheets in the washer and putting the setting on sheets and they are so twisted you have to spend time pulling them apart. This happens to almost everything I wash. I believe that I have a lemon, still under warranty, Maytag believes I should pay for a house call. Home Depot will only forward the information to me that Maytag gives to them.

Called about our upteenth issue with our Maytag microwave. Was told the part was covered but we would have to pay for service. The last tech told us how to wiggle the part to make it work. Paid a fortune and it broke again. They do not care about customers!!

I Hate this machine. It does an inferior job and I wish I never bought it. Our Bravos XL washer was purchased in spring. It left white residue constantly on my clothes. Even WORSE, the machine wrinkled the permanent press so the clothes had to be ironed before wearing. (I rarely had this with my last washer). I used the machine settings correctly and I called the company and basically...was told, Youre out of luck. I hoped that it would improve but No Way! Dont purchase this machine, dont waste your $$$.

Dishwasher could do better with washing the dishes better and less recycling time. Also, it would be better if it had a self cleaning unit on it.

Control Panel MDB8949SBB - I purchased my dishwasher in August of 2013. The control panel has stopped working and Maytag refuses to discuss the issue with us. Regardless of how many complaints they receive they are in denial about their product. They now offer a Repair +1 program which costs $260 for a repair and an additional 1 year warranty. If I do that I will get 1 year out of it before I run into the same problems. Any ideas?

When I went to use this machine (maytag bravos). I noticed there was like a 1/4 filled in tub, checked water flow, that was fine. Then read the manual that Maytag sees using Less Water is better for clothes, I always thought it was less detergent, ohh well. Wouldnt recommend this item to anyone.

Our Maytag Bravos is 4 years old. Settings are preset at the factory. Besides the glitches others have written, the hot water sensor INSIDE the machine has gone out. This means - no clothes can be washed on the hot setting, and the warm setting gives only lukewarm water. I have had more than one plumber look at the machine, and the consensus is...the internal sensor needs replacement. However, this machine being only 48 months old, I am debating whether or not just to buy a new machine. This is a HE washer, and I am very disappointed in its performance. This is the worst Maytag machine I have ever owned.

On March 2011, I purchased a Maytag dishwasher model #MDB7749AWB1. The dishwasher worked excellent for 16 months. One morning, with dishes loaded and ready to go, the start button would not light up. The other buttons did light up but that did me no good, I need the start button. A few days later, none of the buttons would light up. I found a repair person who said it would cost over $200.00 to make repairs. I refuse to put another penny with no guarantee that this new part would work. I will never ever buy another Maytag appliance. The last inexpensive, unknown manufacturers dishwasher lasted me 13 years. Do not waste your money on this thing.

We first purchased a Maytag Neptune washer and dryer set. We loved them. Had them for 15 years with no problems. When we decided to get a new washer and dryer, we were loyal to the Maytag brand. I was immediately drawn to the Maytag Bravos XL due to the extra large capacity. What a mistake! This washer and dryer pair take more than two hours to complete a single load of laundry. It often takes more than one wash to get clothes clean. If you wash an extra drum large load of laundry, often times there is not enough water and agitation to even get all of the clothes wet. I have a one-year-old boy and a six-year-old boy, their clothes get very dirty. This washer Does not get food off of my one-year-old’s bibs. And my six-year-old’s clothes come out looking as if they haven’t even been washed. What a disappointment! My husband and I are going out today to purchase a new washer and dryer set after having just purchased these Maytags in April last year. What a waste of money! Please include me if a class-action suit it’s taken.

3 years ago, we purchased all new Maytag appliances for our home. Within one year, we had issues with the top load refrigerator getting warm and the bottom load freezer getting extremely cold. After calling Maytag and getting horrible customer service (long wait on the phone, no supportive/suggestive advice, rude representative), we were given a phone number for a local Maytag repair man who charged $300 just to walk into the house.He was literally in and then out of our house within 10 minutes. His advice was to unplug and defrost the refrigerator for 24 hours. Thankfully, his suggestion worked, but should have been given to us as a troubleshooter by the representative on the phone with Maytag.We have had to unplug and defrost the refrigerator about every 3 weeks since. It has become very annoying and stressful. There is obviously a defect in the refrigerator that should be replaced by Maytag! I will never buy a Maytag product again.

I live in Southern Indiana and bought my appliance from Charlie Wilsons for 25 years. 3 years ago my Whirlpool washer quit filling up to full level. I decided to move it over and use for my car and pet towels. When I bought my hose in March 1999 every appliance was Whirlpool washer, dryer, refrigerator, stove, dishwasher. GE is made in Louisville, KY but I dislike the union.Anyway I bought a Maytag model MVWC415EW1 June 2017. Recently it started making a grinding noise when going in spin cycle, wadding cloths up and leaking black water on basement floor. Called repair shop out. I just do not have the time to repair stuff anymore. They came out $80.00 service call and tell me at least $300.00 to repair. Wait a minute. $500.00 to buy a new one over $300.00 to repair. Guess what I did? I called Maytag and complained. CASE NUMBER **. They reviewed and denied. Not a problem. I said, I guess you do not need me as a customer anymore.I have twenty year old Whirlpool washer and dryer still running, I have replaced my refrigerator (Old one in garage still running a colder than new fridge and day of the week). Bought Amana=Whirlpool and it has quit and replaced with a Whirlpool July 2019. Nothing is built like it used to be BUT we still pay as much if not more. Off I go to Charlie Wilsons to buy a $1000.00 Speed Queen washer with 7 years parts and labor warranty. Had to order it but old washer still running just not going to full mark.

Purchased the Bravos XL top load washer a month ago. We work outside daily and our clothes get very dirty. I havent really taxed the machine yet (Im doing what I consider a normal load of wash. I know the machine could handle twice as many clothes as its the 5.3 cubic feet washer, but I havent had that many clothes to put in at one time). The washer works great. Clothes are clean and smell fresh. For those that say this washer is extremely loud - you must not have something set up incorrectly. Either the wet pan you put under the machine is making contact with parts it shouldnt or someone didnt level it properly. Really, this is NOT a loud machine. We purchased from Lowes and they delivered, set up and leveled both the washer and dryer. (Yes, we also purchased the matching Bravos XL front load dryer and were impressed that it dries our clothes in half the time our old one did). We would definitely recommend the Maytag Bravos XL washer and dryer.

We finished a kitchen tear out and full remodeling. From top to bottom adding the Maytag double oven insert into our cabinets. We checked out reviews and MANY stated that the oven's fans were LOUD! But we've had them now for 4 months and the reviews do NOT give an accurate account in my opinion. My wife loves using the ovens for all sorts of cooking and baking projects and the units are NOT LOUD at all. You'd have thought from what we read about the ovens that we were making a bad purchase but that's not the case. Quiet, even cooking and a GREAT PURCHASE. If your ovens are loud when cooling something must be wrong! Or maybe we got LUCKY!? I don't think that's the case at all but then I haven't used other's ovens only ours and we are pleased!!! 5 STAR for sure.

Was so excited to get this machine so that I could wash larger loads, including blankets, but unfortunately the machine didnt really clean as expected. That was very frustrating, but even more upsetting was when it began to sound like a jet engine when in the spin cycle. In researching this online, we have discovered that it is probably the bearings. When we called for service from the local store where we purchased the washer and dryer, we were told that it will likely cost at least $600 to repair. We have looked online to see if it is something that we can do ourselves, but really dont want to attempt this as it will require some heavy lifting and a lot of time. I am amazed that a machine like this would fail in such a short period of time and would like to add my name to the list of people who will not buy Maytag again! If a class action suit is ever filed against Maytag for this poor excuse for a washer, count me in, but unfortunately I will probably need to buy a new one before much longer.

I purchased this refrigerator 1 1/2 yrs. ago. The refrigerator stopped getting cold about 3 months after warranty expired. I called Maytag company and told them how disappointed with their product and also how angry I was after spending $1500 only 18 months ago and now it is useless! They kept asking me if I bought the extended warranty and I said I didnt think I would have to after buying a brand new product. And then it breaks so soon!! And now they want me to spend an additional $359 to get the warranty... what a racket! She told me to look under the fridge for leaks. Sorry I cant, Im disabled. She said too bad and would have service man call me but that would be even more expensive. Woops, disconnected.

My husband and I purchased a Maytag Bravos washer and matching dryer in November of 2009. At three or four months old, the dryer quit drying and was emitting a weird smell and smoky air coming out of it. It was under warranty so a technician was called. A fan blade inside it had broken. The repairman replaced it and the motor as a precaution. There was absolutely nothing inside it that could have broken the fan blade and I always check pockets. My hoses were clear also. He told me that it looked poorly designed inside for air flow. He made a box out of sheet metal to fit inside it that he said would help it with air flow on the inside. I still have the dryer but I dont like it very much because it still doesnt do a great job of drying. It has to run too long and at too high a heat to dry laundry. The latch on the door broke a few months ago and had to be replaced too. I havent had problems with the washer as of yet. I like the washer and it washes very well but I will not buy a Maytag washer or dryer again. WHIRLPOOL OWNS MAYTAG NOW AND THEIR PRODUCTS ARE ACTUALLY MADE BY WHIRLPOOL SO I WOULDNT TURN TO THEM.

I bought a Maytag Bravo washer 11 months ago, and I have had nothing but trouble with it. I have had it worked on twice, and now, Sears is sending me a new one, because it is broken again. I would rather have my money back, go somewhere else, and get a new washer. I will never buy anything from Sears again. They could not send a person out for other repairs for 1 week. Then they would have to send out for parts, because the drum is peeling on the tops. So that means more time to wait for parts to come in, and the machine is not spinning out. The cycles are not washing right; sometimes, they wash a cycle 2 times.Sears does nothing but give you a runaround. And the Morrisville Vt. store manager is so rude. He was talking to me like I was stupid. Now, I have to wait 3 more days before a washer comes in from the warehouse after Sears told me it was coming on 4/24 between 9:45-11:45. Then the manager told me I could take the floor model if I want it today, which has scratches on it. I was hoping someday to buy the dryer to match the washer. But now, I do not want anything to do with the brand. I bought a Maytag refrigerator also last year. Its beautiful. Everything is in my kitchen, and I have been working on getting everything to match. I am raising my 2 grandchildren and am on a fixed income. They treat people awfully at Sears, and it is too bad Maytag works with them.

This review is pretty simple, if you have kids, do not buy this washer! I just went to the local wholesale guy after almost 8 months of using this POS, and spent $200 on a older agitator machine, after the first load my 7 year old close came clean of dirt! There is literally no water and the motion of the drum, it is almost impossible for this machine to clean clothes. I really am surprised that no one has started a class action. And to anyone saying the are hog farmers and work outside and get dirty? I would love to see it first hand. I am going to post on YouTube and show what this machine really does. Think about this before you buy, We all get hooked on how big it is, thinking you can do 4 loads at once, but trust me the low water thing is real! How do you clean clothes with no water! You will regret this purchase. And I am a Maytager for life! So disappointing.

Had our house built in 2009 and the builder carry Maytag Appliances. After 3 years every single appliances start giving us problems. First the refrigerator not getting cold, got it fixed. Then the dishwasher panel, then the built-in microwave, then washing machine. Just the other day the refrigerator broke down again and I was told the compressor was bad. Really? Whats going with this company? All the appliances from this maker dont have longevity. I have 20 year older refrigerator from GE and its still working. Please do not buy this garbage... Its a waste of your hard-earned money.

We bought all new appliances for our remodel. I wish I could return this dishwasher. It has a problem with the door staying closed. I added images of how we are able to make it work. A service person is coming by tomorrow to put a new latch on it (I read several reviews saying the latch is messed up). So I made sure the service person is coming with the part. I called Home Depot when the problem started (used for up to 5 washes or so). And Home Depot wont return it! I called Maytag and they tried selling me an extended warranty and I asked what about the 10 year warranty the machine is supposed to come with? I guess thats a joke as the lady told me I should of read the fine print. So buyers beware! I wish I would of know about Maytag. I would have about a Samsung instead!!!

Maytag/Whirlpool dishwasher control panel FAILURE MDB7749SAM - Just like all the above comments about this dishwasher... I too have been a victim. Control panel stopped working after 1 1/2 years. Turned on by itself like other have commented and will not let you push any buttons. Maytag/Whirlpool refuses to do anything about this at all and will cost me over $250 to fix an appliance I purchased at $499. How disgraceful of a company to not stand by their product... A huge shame on you Maytag/Whirlpool for not standing behind your product. If anyone knows of a way to get involved with a class action suit against this company I would like to get in on it.

We bought our Legacy Washer and Dryer from Home Depot in December, 2005. Luckily we also bought the one year warranty, because in January 2006, our washer quit running. We called Home Depot, we got the runaround and I think Maytag sent someone out. When he tipped the washing machine over, a belt was off. He said it happens. The next year, something else went wrong with the washing machine (not under warranty anymore) and I paid $129 for that visit. Three weeks ago, the spin dry quit doing a good job on the extended spin cycle. Tonight, I put a load of clothes in and though the washer sounded like it was agitating the clothes, when I lifted the top I saw it was just noise, no agitating. I cannot afford the service call, let alone the whole repair or a new washer.

I purchased a Maytag Electric Range (Model: MER7662WS1) at Lowes in February 2011. After few months, we found many rusty areas on the stainless oven door and on the stainless drawer.On 9/8, I called Maytag at 1-800-688-9900 to complain that stainless steel is not supposed to rust. A representative took the initiative to schedule A&E Factory Service to come to my house for a warranty repair, and assigned me an order # 40629499. I did not request for this service call and naturally, I regard this as a warranty service or a service of quality check of a product.On 9/19, a technician came to check the rusty area and confirmed that the stainless steel have rusted and the rust will eat through the panel. The technician called Maytag, and got the answer that Maytag will not pay for his visit because its not under warranty. The technician then checked the warranty manual, but could find not any statement that neither rust is cosmetic nor rust is not covered. The technician asked me to pay $132 for his five-minute checking service. I was so upset and called Denice at A&E Factory Service at 1-800-905-9505 to bill Maytag directly. She ignored my request and said that I should take it to Maytag.After a couple of hours waiting, holding and transferring, I explained to two Maytag customer service representatives my problem, only to get a Sorry, its not covered, its cosmetic, reply. I insisted talking to a manager and finally got Melinda at Care Solution Team. She, too, refused to waive the charge for me and claimed herself as a supervisor and decision maker and theres no one above her who could resolve this issue.I emphasized that A&E service call was authorized by Maytag, I did not order the service. Who would have thought that a service authorized by manufacturer is not covered under warranty? Besides, this representative failed to inform me that rust would not be covered, she should have known better. Therefore, I believe that the person who initiated the service call to A&E should be held accountable. But Melinda never wanted to agree with this logic and kept saying, We dont force customer to have home service. You are liable for the bill.She refused to pay for the service and forced me to pay the bill from the mistake they made. She even refused to give out the persons ID # and name of the person who called A&E. She only documented my complaint--whats the point of their documentation? If this is the tactic that Maytag is using to categorize rust as cosmetic (if rust can damage material, then you should not call it cosmetic), and ban customers from claiming the rust damage so they can use poor quality of stainless steel on their appliances to save the cost, then, it is dishonest to advertise that this oven is stainless.A representative even said that Maytag should have emailed me with the confirmation of service call and noted that its a non-warranty service. Also, A&E should have informed me before arrival that the service is not covered. All these were not true. First, I did not receive such email from Maytag or Whirlpool. If Maytag would have warned me with non-covered policy such as this, they should have the courtesy to call me in case the email was unreliably routed to spam box. A&E only informed me that they are coming the next day, but no such thing as telling me that the service will not be covered. Even their technician did not know about the non-covered issue, and had to call Maytag today to find out.Had the person who scheduled the service told me that the rust on the stainless panels is not covered under warranty, will I still allow the service call and agree to pay $132 for a five-minute checkup and watch the technician leave without performing any repair? I asked Melinda to let me talk to her supervisor but she said that theres no one who can talk to me, and the only way to appeal is to write to the companys executives. I could care less if Maytag responds as I have already advised all my family and friends to avoid Maytag products. After spending over $1200 to buy this refrigerator it took 6 months for the ice maker to failed, and it needed a control board replaced. Maytag had a great reputation; however, in the past 5 years their products are worthless. I also have a Maytag dishwasher which failed and was stuck on cancel with a flashing light. The dishwasher panel needs to be replaced and I have just decided to replace both of these products with a different brand.

In a way, l feel fortunate and you will read why in a minute. l have been reading Maytag complaints specifically looking to see if what happened to me has happened to others. Apparently, it has. We purchased our Maytag range, model MER57750AB, in 2005. We too have had some repairs done under warranty. Unfortunately, we live in a day and age where technology isnt always our friend. The old appliances that were not electronically driven lasted forever; todays appliances do not. However, when something with potentially serious consequences happens that is not technology related, it rates in the who is the idiot who designed that? category. I am talking about the exploding exterior glass oven doors.Two weeks ago, the oven door handle on our range came unscrewed on one side. I continued using the appliance, planning on repairing it myself when l found the time. (I used to tinker around the garage with my dad when I was little and therefore, I have great repair skills in several areas.) Last week, I was standing in front of the stove when all of a sudden, the glass panel dropped from the door! It landed straight up on the floor and fell forward so the top edge of the glass landed on my toes (the toes that I had surgery on for six hammertoes last November and are still sore!). Needless to say, l was shocked that this happened, and even more so, I was grateful that it did not break or either of my two grandbabies were around at the time. Then, I looked at the glass and saw that it was attached to the door using only eight small pieces of double sided sticky mounting foam. I mean small! As I said before, idiot! Did they not think that the heat from the oven would eventually wear out the ability of the tape to do its job? I gave up reading after I found enough complaints about the mishaps with the glass on the oven doors to realize that there is a definite problem here. I did not see where the glass fell intact, as mine did. Therefore, I am suggesting that the exploding glass panels more than likely gave way, as mine did, and shattered when they hit the floor. Should there be a product recall for this? Absolutely! The question is how does a recall get put in motion? As others have stated, this could have been a horrible disaster had little ones been around. I pray that doesnt happen to anyone.

Bought the Maytag model MFI2670XEM and within 6 weeks freezer wasnt making ice. Repairman came and fixed it, within a couple weeks same problem again. It was fixed and within a couple months same problem. Fixed, but makes very little ice. Now 18 months later after purchase freezer is leaking water onto the floor. Very disappointed!!! After reading other Maytag reviews I am worried I will have to dump this relatively new refrigerator and buy another (wont be a Maytag) and our upgraded dishwasher from Maytag is terrible! I hand wash all my dishes before putting them into the dishwasher. The smallest bit of ketchup or sauce is not washed away in the wash cycle. Our Maytag stove/oven seems to not heat correctly, as well. Internal temperature gauge reads 5-15 degrees off all the time. Thumbs down Maytag! Extremely disappointed with Maytag products! Will never buy again!

We purchased a Maytag electric convection oven with a warming drawer 3 months ago. We have been happy with the cooking features, but not the Aqualift self-cleaning. It does not work and Maytag does not acknowledge this. Instead they have offered cleaning products to us which their own instructions tell you not to use! Does this sound like a self-cleaning oven? They have offered to send out a service person to check the temperature. However, from reading multiple reviews by others, there will likely be no satisfaction from this company.

I innocently purchased cash from BrandsMart a Maytag French refrigerator MF12665XEM 7, serial #K22311026 in 06/30/2012 in Boca Raton, FL. I assumed I had bought the last fridge I would ever need because it was supposed to be a product that never needs servicing, according to the wide advertising of the bored Maytag repairmen. So I did not buy a warranty. This fridge is completely useless 3.5 years later and I do not have a leg to stand on, Maytag assures me. The only part thats still working is the compressor, which is also the only part that is warranted! Coincidence? What do you think? I cannot afford to replace it. Maytag Dishwasher MDB7749SBW3 - Control panel problem just like everyone else describes. Bought in Nov 2014... how disappointing!! My husband is sure he can fix it if I buy the part. I went online to order the control panel, and of course because Im in Canada I cant ship the part directly from the website, I have to call the Canadian Sears Part Dept., its about $200! As I came across all these reviews I am even contemplating if I should waste our time and money trying to fix this thing... Maytag never again!!!

We have purchased several washer/dryer sets in the past decade & will never purchase another Maytag. After 3 years of very light use, it stopped working. We had a certified Maytag repairman come & tell us we needed a $600 circuit board replaced. We reluctantly paid for it and 3 months later, intermittent problems began. Plus, it is obnoxiously loud. The repairman said this is normal. Randomly stopping the cycle, not starting the cycle at all without multiple restarts ... the list goes on. The 3 Lg sets we have bought are awesome. Maytag may have been king in the 60s, but the quality of their products has tanked. Dont waste your money on their products.

Maytag dryer MEDC215EW - This dryer does not dry the clothes without many wrinkles. Sheets just ball up with the inner sheet a mass of wrinkles. Small loads just flop from top to the bottom of the dryer, falling in clumps. I have gone back to having to ironing. Very disturbing!!! I would not recommend this dryer to anyone.

Purchased a Maytag Bravo Quiet Washing machine. Nice and big for our family and uses less water. Generally okay with it (occasionally need to rinse clothes again as they have streaks/spots after the hand-wash cycle due to low water feature). This year it started making a loud noise while spinning, obviously the bearing. Googled reviews on this washer, reviewers explained Maytag now owned by Whirlpool and not the quality it used to be. Called the repair line, Whirlpool refused to say whether or not this would be covered by the limited warranty, even though it is very clear which part is causing the problem. The only way they would tell is if someone came out, then we were charged $149 for 5 minutes of looking at the machine to be told it isnt covered. In the end we will order the part and fix it ourselves. We will remember not to buy Maytag again.

Updated on 10/09/2019: Well I wrote a review on my brand new Maytag washer that we bought at Lowes in June. When I wrote the last review I was waiting for our repair. They did come to repair and I was told by the repair guy (keep in mind the washer was only 2 months old at the time) that there were 3 fail codes. He said that it was overloaded or loaded wrong.That you cant wash towels with sheets, you cant wash any kind of rug no matter the size, which I only wash small bathroom rugs that are NOT oversized or heavy, you cant wash tennis shoes (which I have not). So I asked him what is the point of investing in what is supposed to be a top of the line, heavy duty, extra large tub, commercial washer? He said that you cant do that with any machine. I told him our old washer that we had 13 years had no problem with washing towels & sheets together. My point is that I am 100% disappointed in this washer & I encourage you to NOT buy Maytag, apparently they no longer live up to their brand.Original Review: We did our research & comparing & this machine came up on top. Its size suites our needs & we were excited about all the great features. We purchased it in mid July of 2019 so its 2 months old & for the last month it started to shut off in the middle of a wash cycle. At first we thought that maybe we were doing something wrong. So we would re-start it & it worked. Fast forward 3 weeks, it was doing it almost every time. Now it isnt working at all, it starts to fill up then shuts down before it starts to wash.Today is a Friday & I called Maytag to request a service call under the warranty (60 days old) Maytag had me on hold for 19 minutes before I could even talk to someone! The customer service person (once she was on) was very nice & sympathetic but couldnt get anyone out to service our machine until Tuesday, which is a HUGE inconvenience since we have not been able to wash for the last 3 days. I am highly disappointed in the machine for the simple reason that I paid for a new topnotch machine because my old one that 13 years old finally gave out & now am in the same situation & in for $1000 I paid for this new washer & having to go pay to do laundry 2 MONTHS later! I will add to my review once they have performed the service call to see if the issue is resolved or the machine replaced if they cant fix it.

Bought Maytag dishwasher 2007 at Lowes. Model mdbtt60aww-37837606ll manufactured in Benton harbor, Michigan. First got a recall that something was faulty, could cause fire, needed replacement. Took 2/3 weeks to get repaired. So couldnt use. Never quite cleaned good - many times had to rewash silverware, glasses. Never took off food unless very well rinsed. Today the control panel went. Called a local repair he said, Dont even fix. Toss and get a new one because its too costly to repair. I asked what should I get. He said no GE, they are getting out of appliances, no Samsung. Hes got whirlpool so guess Ill give that a try. In the past Ive had dishwashers 20 years, appliances 20 years. This junk lasts a year or two. Plastic cracks. None of these appliances are great anymore. Doesnt matter who you buy. Someone needs to get some quality control on what these companies are peddling .

Maytag dishwasher model MDB7759SAB, 1 year old and control panel will not work at all. Maytag site does not recognize model #, got part numbers off parts and cant find the parts. Looking for control panel, cant find black one and others are back ordered for weeks. After reading other peoples problems, it seems Maytag would correct the issue.

Dishwasher is around two-three years old and it will not start or drain. From what I can tell on the internet, this touch-pad control panel has been an ongoing problem for Maytag. Will try to fix myself, and if I cant fix it, I will buy a new dishwasher but not a Maytag. By the way, my washer and dryer both went out this year - five years old and both are Maytags. Stay away from this brand.

Purchased my microwave in 2005 and seldom used it. However in the last few months, the halogen light which lights up the range surface has been flickering. When I asked an electrician doing other work around my house to repair it, he discovered that the halogen light is attached with a dual pin socket which is plastic. When the halogen light gets overheated (and halogen produces alight of heat) it melts the plastic. It has already melted some of the plastic socket. When it fails to operate, I will have to repair the light socket which will be very expensive or buy a new microwave. This microwave cost $800 or more because it offered convection cooking which I have seldom used.This is what is presumed quality appliance? Plus I added the cost of an extended warranty.

Purchased side-by-side with bottom freezer 2009 after Hurricane Ike. Fridge has stopped cooling. Called Maytag Customer Center and was told nothing can be done only to find theres a 10 year warranty on the compressor. This malfunction should not be an issue after 8 years. My GE fridge still works after 25+ years. Horrible!

DO NOT BUY A MAYTAG BRAVOS MCT WASHING MACHINE!!! I have had the machine for two and half weeks, it HAS NOT WORKED EVEN ONCE!!! Service was scheduled - again for a BRAND NEW machine - through Maytag/Whirlpool - and the service ordered never happened. We waited an entire day, 8 am - 4 pm, only to discover the service desk of Maytag doesnt work either. Just got a Bravos Maytag commercial washer. Washed two throw blankets and the washer has a see-through window on top, and I could see that the blankets didnt move on top. How are clothes supposed to get clean if they dont move? It also took an hour and a half for one load. What you are saving on water you are wasting on electricity. I personally dont like them for those reasons. I appreciate the company in my town (little known), they let me return and get the old agitator type with NO sensors. Just love the agitator, might wear on clothes a little more but at least I know theyre clean!

Please Do NOT purchase the Maytag Aqua Lift Gas Range. It does not clean anything, you will pay more money for a cleaning oven that does not clean any grease or droppings if you cook. This is not an Oven for any one, or family that cooks large meals or has gatherings. I had the technicians at my house over 4 times and they confirmed that this oven is not a self cleaning oven. It doesnt get hot enough as your self cleaning ovens. And MAYTAG did not want to hear anything, basically not clean much, but advertised as a self cleaning oven. Having been a Maytag customer for years I will never buy a Maytag product again. And we need to support American made, but not when the consumer is misled.

I purchased a washer & dryer from Lowes on December 3rd. On February 20th, my washer stopped filling up. I called customer service and had someone come out a few days later. The repairman said the sensor broke & it would take 10 days for part to come in. After 2 weeks, I tried calling repair company and they would not answer phone for Maytag, or me. Maytag called another service provider, and it will be another week before part comes in. Never could get in touch with anyone who was helpful! Now it’s been a month, and still not fixed!

My oven smelled for weeks after being installed. The first time I self cleaned, the oven stopped working and the door remained locked. It took weeks to get it repaired because we needed a part that had to be ordered. The second time we self cleaned, the oven smoked, set off smoke alarm that had to be disconnected, the control panel bulged, and the door locked. It was Sunday. I wrote a nasty email to Maytag. The service man who came Monday could not unlock the door, and said he had to order a part and would return the next Tuesday if the part arrived.Next, I had warranty issues. I had to get a copy of the purchase receipt from Home Depot to prove that the oven was still in warranty. Out of the blue, my phone rings on Thursday and it was Joe ** from Maytag in Michigan. He had read my email, said he was sorry for all the problems, and if I did not mind waiting 2 to 3 weeks, he would send me a brand new oven, would have it installed, and would have the old oven sent back for inspection. I did not mind (although there is only so many things that can be grilled or you can bake in a toaster oven). Three weeks later, I have my newly-installed new oven with its new, year-long warranty. Thank you Mr. ** and Maytag for the great service.

My husband and I purchased the Bravos XL washer and dryer set about a year ago as our first big washer/dryer purchase for our new home. We spent about $1200 on the set from Home Depot. I very much regret this purchase as the washer never gets our clothing clean! The washer never puts enough water in the basin and the clothing comes out with strange white smudges EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.I have tried changing detergent, I have tried skipping fabric softener, Ive tried rinsing out the dispenser thinking it was residue from old soap. I dont know what it is, but what I DO know is that the clothes go in without the white smudges and come back out with them for every load. I have to run a second rinse cycle just to get it off, which means Im washing for at least an hour and a half. I DESPISE this machine and its costing me more on my water bill.Additionally, the dryer isnt much better. It constantly shuts itself off even when its not on energy saver mode, with the little red light going on for air flow. Ive checked the connection and dont see what the issue is. If I have a big load such as blankets in there, I have to dry them all individually for almost an hour just to dry my bedding! It simply wont stay on to dry a full load. I very much regret my purchase and wish Id gone with something simpler and cheaper as it would have done a much better job with my laundry. Lesson learned. Dont waste your money on Maytag.

Purchased washer in Jan 2013. Average usage is 1 load per week. Last week the washer started leaking from the rear left side. A service call discovered that the bleach dispenser was filling up with water and overflowing. Bleach dispenser?? I never use it! Seems that the new bleach dispenser hose line has a relief valve whereas the original part did not. Internet research has confirmed that this problem is very common with this make and model. However, a call to Maytag requesting what compensation, if any, would be available resulted in a response that basically was too bad... so sad... cant do anything for you! Seriously? An apparent common, known problem and all they can say is we understand your problem. Needless to say that will definitely be the last lonely repairman Maytag that this household will purchase.

My wife was in the kitchen and started yelling for me to get in there fast. I could smell smoke and then could see the smoke in the kitchen and sparks coming out of the front top right side of the dishwasher. I shut off the power to the dishwasher at the breaker panel. I then removed the contents and then the dishwasher itself. I threw it outside and then the next day I took apart the door and found that the control board was melted and fried. The model # is MDBH949PAM1. We are trying to locate the receipt for date of purchase. Pictures are attached. This is not safe and my wife is very upset as our 4 year old daughter had been leaning on the door not just 15 or so seconds before this happened.

Maytag French Door Refrigerator (Counter depth) #MFC2061KES14 which cost over $2,500 dollars is a DUD and the company is EVIL. The freezer leaks all over the floor and the company will not stand by their product. When I called the company they said they have had to upgrade a part called the drain tube kit because of this problem but did not put a recall. They know that this problem will occur just about the time the warranty runs out. I bet the wife of the CEO of this company has a very expensive good brand of refrigerator. Stand by your product and pay for the repairs and labor to get it fixed and put out a recall. LIFE IN AMERICA!!!

Within the first month of purchasing my front loading Maytag Neptune washer (MAH6700AWW) at Home Depot, the soap dispenser fell off. The machine not only leaked, requiring stack of towels to be placed on the floor to keep the room from flooding, but often produced foul-smelling clothes, despite cleaning the machine. On top of that, the delicate cycle stopped working and then last month, the entire control board went! It is past its warranty period, and I cannot afford a new washer for my family of 6. The machine has been discontinued and the parts unattainable. The control board of our dryer (MDE6700AYW) went too, causing buzzing in the electrical connection and burning, causing us to have to shut down the circuits for the machine. Maytag has lost all my respect as a quality appliance supplier. We spent $1700 on the set and the machines have been a nightmare. Please note: we were NOT notified that there were class action suits against Maytag regarding their machines.

First off, everyone seeing this should be fuming as I am because we are mostly in the same boat with these control panel issues. Mine is Maytag model MDB7749SBM3 about 575.00. A little bit cheaper than most of you because I purchased at the online and had a rebate. About a couple months after the warranty expired, we started having weird light issues with the control panel where are one light would pop up when you didnt hit it or other lights would pop up when you hit something else. We kept dealing with it thinking that it would dry out and resolve itself. Lo and behold, just like it appears to be tens of thousands perhaps hundreds of thousands of machines, it quit. I read this consumer affairs post after it quit and now I know why it did. I opened up the control panel and sure enough, the little ribbon that connects all the electrical connections had brown on the back like it was burnt through. I was able to find a special 1 800 number that Whirlpool has set up because they have purchased Maytag and the woman I spoke with said they would send a technician out and that I was responsible for the diagnostic fee. I was born but it wasnt yesterday. I immediately said to the woman, Absolutely unacceptable. I am NOT paying for anything, very politely highlighting the fact that I know they settled a class action lawsuit in California regarding a control panel issue and there are hundreds maybe thousands of complaints on consumer affairs.com. The woman place me on hold, I am assuming to speak with her supervisor and then let me know that they would pay for the diagnostic fee. She said a repair date for me for about a week and a half later. The repairman had a good day because the dishwasher was already disassembled for him and he proceeded to take pictures and call Maytag. Maytag told him that I was responsible for the installation cost and service fee which according to the technician is about a hundred bucks. I told the technician that is fine but it will not be fine when I call Maytag back. I have not spoken to Maytag about the hundred dollars needs to file a claim for a new dishwasher and associated damages. I have not spoken to Maytag about the hundred dollars but I am only on this to let you know that every single one of us needs to file a claim for a new dishwasher in associated damages in small claims court. I plan on filing a claim for approximately $700 for a new dishwasher and damages. In my opinion, I feel like we should all do this, otherwise big corporations like this will continue to shovel garbage into the stores left and right.Have a good day and good luck with your court case hopefully. The first problem happened a month after we bought the horrible product. I had biscuits baking in the oven and the oven door locked itself like when in self-clean mode. Maytag sent out a repairman that had the part in his truck because they knew there was a problem with that models door. I pointed out that the door does not shut properly, causing inaccurate heating and scorching on the outside of the oven door. The repairman insisted that it was shut properly, and that it was designed at the angle the door sits. He replaced the scorched part of the door, but it immediately scorched again. I have had the part replaced 3 times, and will not do so again until we sell the house. I have spent over money over and over again to make the repair, because it makes the stove look like it is filthy with grease. Now, all the dots painted on the glass top are coming off, and the remaining black glass behind it also looks like burnt grease. It is so embarrassing when entertaining; but the stove is clean. I spent a lot of money for this, and it has been junk from day one. Avoid purchasing.

Bought a Maytag Bravos x MVWX700XX1 about 2 years ago and now the agitator barely moves and makes a very loud grinding noise. Never had a major appliance wear out so fast..is a piece of junk. Will never buy another Maytag product ever again. Their old ads about the Maytag guy being bored because he never needed to fix anything should be considered false advertising.

I purchased my Maytag Centennial Commercial Technology MVWC200XW in May 2012. This is the second time in almost 3 years that it breaks down. The basket decided to drop today and by the time I realized that it did, my whole bathroom had flooded, the water spread down the hall into my spare bedroom and soaked through the floor, also flooding my basement. I called customer service. They are sending a repair man next week, but as for all my ceramic tiles that are now cracked in my bathroom and my hardwood in the hall and bedroom that is full of water and are lifting off the ground. Its my responsibility to call my insurances to fix it. Yet it was their washing machine that caused the damage in the first place. When I purchased the washer I didnt expect to have to repair it every year. Not impressed! I do not recommend this washer.

Purchased a Maytag MDB4949SHZ dishwasher new from Home Depot in January 2018 as part of an extensive home remodel and addition. Did not move back in permanently until late June 2019, so the unit was not used at all until then. It quit working in January 2021 and our local (Sandpoint, ID) appliance repairman diagnosed a bad motor and pump assembly (the main functional component of the dishwasher). The unit was marketed as having a 10 year warranty and based on past experience with older Maytag appliances we purchased it. The fine print reveals that the 10 year warranty applies only to components that are unlikely to ever wear out or fail; all the rest are covered by a one year warranty. Part cost is over $200 and does not include installation. Maytag customer service (45+ minute hold to speak to a live human) of no help. No way are we throwing good money after bad to fix it. Lesson learned; just purchased a Bosch.

I bought a Maytag Neptune washer and dryer set in 2001. I had horrible mold issues with the washer not long after, and the colors washing setting cant be used without the clothes coming out with a smell that implies they were not cleaned. The dryer lasted about a year longer, before it stopped heating the air and also would not stop running. I will never buy from Maytag again! Much the same as many other consumers have commented, I would give it less than one star if that is an option!

It sounds like an old threshing machine... I have to close the laundry door it is so loud. People cant believe its a new machine. So saving water is the big deal we hear so much about...but water is the main cleaning agent and it hardly covers the clothes even on a full load coverage. Do not use bleach in the machine unless the load contains ONLY WHITES. It just destroyed a new pink top as it spurts out the bleach without any controls. It does not get whites or clothes clean and just twists the clothes to the point everything you wear has to be ironed. There is not one good thing I can say about this pair of appliances except BUYER BEWARE~ I wish I had read the reviews... Buy the old...tried and true.

Purchased a maytag washer last yr. and I feel it is the worst washer I have ever dealt with. I hate that every time I wash somethings they come out with lint all over them and they are the same things I have washed before and never had the problem, plus I hate the cover locks so you cant put water in before you put soap in.

Our Maytag Bravos Quiet Series 300 is anything but quiet. Within two years of purchasing it, we now hear an F18 jet fighter taking off from our laundry room. Neighbors near and far come running to avoid getting injured when the spin cycle kicks into after burner. Seriously though, this looked to be a nice machine and operated flawlessly until a month ago when the spin cycle started sounding like a jet fighter taking off. I am handy and often fix appliances and things around the house. From reading reviews here on Consumer Affairs and other places, I am finding that the noise problems are more common than not. Investing $400+ into a replacement tub/bearing set would further support Whirlpool/Maytag and the sucking sound they make to get at my wallet. From what I have read, I am likely to have more problems after fixing this one (it will likely break again). I am going to quit while I am ahead and purchase a new washer. Whirlpool/Maytag will never see my business again. Its ludicrous to have an expensive appliance like a washer only last two years. BTW, I just spent $200 to replace the control panel on my 4-year old Maytag dishwasher. A cheap and horrible design. The part probably cost $10 to make. BOHICA. (bend over, here it comes again). FYI: Whirlpool owns and sells its products under several other appliance names. Names that include, Kenmore (yes, Sears), Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Gladiator GarageWorks, Inglis, Estate, Brastemp, Bauknecht and Consul (Wikipedia source). Like a Lotto Scratcher, peel the Whirlpool or Maytag name sticker off and underneath you will find the real name... CRAP! Its sad to think that you have to purchase products made in Korea to get quality. Very sad.

I had another Maytag washer. It lasted 21 months. BB got me the BravosXL to replace it. I have had it 6 years. It is a piece of junk. Goes out of balance all the time. We are 2 ladies and don’t have heavy clothes to wash. I am washing now. I have put It through a wash cycle. The soap is still on the clothes. I am on my THIRD rinse cycle and there is still soap on the clothes. And I used less soap. Never again MAYTAG.

I bought the matching Bravos washer and dryer 4 years ago. I always bought Kenmore appliances but decided, based on the then reviews, that I would upgrade to Maytag. Biggest mistake I have made! I am a very tolerant person always looking for the best in anything. But I have to say, I hate both the washer and dryer. My clothes are faded, they shrink in the dryer even on delicate. I really cant say anything good about them. Today I washed 2 twin sheets, one king top sheet, and one very thin blanket. When I opened the washer, one twin sheet was on top and not even wet. So now I get to run another load and have to wait to remake my bed. When I have washed rugs on bulky, they are filled with soap when finished. Half the time, it doesnt spin out the water and I run a second and third spin cycle on a variety of items. I avoid doing laundry because it is so frustrating. I am retired so I cant afford to replace them. I just dont want anyone else to suffer the same frustrations!

The machine can clean even king size quilts, and clothes come out very clean. It is a front load and there are no problems with odors. There are many cycles to choose from. Cycles spin gently enough while getting out most of the moisture.

I purchased a 2011 Bravos top loader washer machine. Doing a minimal amount of laundry for 2 persons, the Bravos is in disrepair needing bearings and an inner and outer tub. I was told to purchase a prepaid service call for $350 that will cover repairs plus a mere 1 year additional warranty. The washer sounds like a jet plane, gives off fouls odors, has black tar like residue after each wash and clothes never smell clean. Maytag has no complaint process, except an online chat that tells you to buy the prepay. Maytag has dumped a lemon on consumers and arrogantly expects us to pay for their garbage. They are disrespectful, dishonest and greedy and dont deserve anyones hard earned money for their ill made products.

I purchased my Maytag gas range (model number mGR7665WB) on Thanksgiving 2011! It worked fine until May 2012. Then the bake function just stopped working. If I select bake, the temperature fails to rise above 100F and a sickening gas smell fills the kitchen! PC Richards, where I purchased the product from, sent a repairman who took two weeks and two visits to fix the part! Everything was working fine until six months later during cooking for a full house on the day of my daughters birthday party. Same problem, bake function failed again along with gas smell! I was pregnant at the time and very worried about the gas smell! We had to leave the house a few days after that due to the hurricane and when I returned, everything worked great for a few weeks only to fail on Christmas Eve leaving me to cook the meat for our Christmas Day dinner in a neighbors house, highly embarrassing and inconvenient! Now Maytag and PC Richards are only able to repair at a high cost to me which I cant afford and feel I shouldnt be responsible for as this product has been consistently unreliable and possibly dangerous. I am especially concerned about the gas smell as I have a newborn and a 3-year old in our small apartment!

An average refrigerator/freezer at best. I would not recommend it unless you also buy a service agreement to fix things that go wrong with it. Ice maker went out.

Maytag model mfd2561hes French door stainless steel purchased in June 2005 has been the worst appliance purchase ever. After 1 year warranty expired, icemaker and water dispenser stopped working. Was told by repairman to thaw the tube for water dispensing with a hair dryer. Are you kidding me? Why should I have to pull a huge refrigerator out from wall and put the hair dryer to it to thaw out the water line when I need water? What is the convenience to that? Cant buy fresh vegetables as it will freeze before I can use it. This is the worst appliance ever. Dont buy Maytag products. Maytag doesnt back products like the old days when they would last 20 + years. Cant last even a year anymore. Sad!

The door is worthless. I am the only washing machine user in my home and am gentle with my appliances. However over normal use, the washers door has cracked and has had to be replaced twice since it was purchased from Home Depot.

I purchased my Maytag dishwasher thru Costco. I did so because I got a 2 year warranty if I bought thru them. The washer was approximately 6 months old and they replaced the pump. Approximately 3 months later they replaced the heater. Approximately 4 months after that they replaced the entire operating/electronic board located in the door. Approximately 6 weeks before the warranty was up they had to rebuild the middle dish tray. Now that the warranty is expired by 2 months the door is leaking like a sieve. Unlike most families we use our dishwasher at least twice daily. In summation I would not recommend this brand of appliances to anyone. I will not pay to have this one repaired.

Purchased our Maytag in October 2009. From the beginning it would make loud, popping noises occasionally but seemed to work just fine. At the time of purchase, we opted to buy the 5 year extended warranty for $125.00 (just in case). Here we are at seven months after that warranty is no longer any good and the freezer leaks all over the floor and we have to keep a towel at the bottom to soak it up.This morning I wake up to the panel being completely out and fridge is not running at all!!! We thought when we purchased our Maytag that we were buying the best of the best... not even close! We just paid for an expensive piece of junk! Who has the extra money just lying around to go buy a new fridge? Not us! This is unacceptable!!! I have read other reviews that sound pretty much exact to our experience with this refrigerator. I hope somehow they can and will be held responsible for putting this product on the market knowing full well it is an over-priced piece of junk.

Our range and oven are reliable and durable. Easy to clean and have lasted a long time. I do not regret spending a little extra money to have an appliance that has lasted a long time. The oven heats up at a standard rate. The self clean function is very thorough. I have a white set. I was worried they would stain with your typical spills that come along with cooking. However, They clean very easily.

We purchased both a new Maytag washer & dryer in 2011. Our dryer, Model #7000XG1 all of the sudden started thumping when we were drying our laundry. After we called a technician to come out, he stated we had a crack in our drum. How in the heck does that happen in 4 years time and only laundering for 2 people? Of course this steel drum should not wear out before the other parts, but it did. Since there is a backorder on the replacement drum, it makes you wonder if this problem is wider than it seems. Also, Maytag would do nothing for us other than offer us the purchase of a new dryer at a discounted rate good for only 7 days of their offer. Seriously, how about standing behind your product? And, then again, why would we be enticed to spend that kind of money on the same type of product that has flaws? Uh, duh Maytag or Whirlpool. Silly fools you are.

After reading all the reviews I realize this is a wide spread complaint. After 2 1/2 years the control panel on my Maytag Dishwasher will not work. You press the keys and hope for the best. I am thinking of going to the media with my complaint. Maybe we will all get some sort of refund or upgrade.

We have reported the first time use of New Gas Range using the oven and range top at the same time is impossible because of BURN HAZARD AND the response was soft with no explanations. The range arrived March 26, 2015. We were impressed with first baking only. Family arrived at our vacation home for Easter celebration. Our first meal on Good Friday using both oven and range top was a disaster and the cook was burned on the stainless steel knobs. The oven vents below the knobs were about the temperature of the 380 degree setting of the oven!We rendered the unit unusable and called Maytag customer care department during the late table dinner. I explained on the 45 min call we were having this event and would be all leaving Thursday and their solution was 8 to 10 day shipping of Fake composite stainless looking knobs. These knobs will have to be sent to our Ohio home 500 miles west of the Range location?? If they could ship that day why not overnight??THE SOLUTION OF WEARING OVEN MITTS FOR STOVETOP COOKING IS NOTHING SHORT of silly to conduct meals for our guest. And other members of our family that we permit occasional use of the home open to burns using this Range until we drive 1000 miles round trip to drive the knobs back to NJ from Ohio??? Customer Care fails to listen. We will not be returning until May. To illustrate my concerns about the logistical issues I asked if Maytag would pay for the mileage and tolls for me to replace BURN proof knobs. Oh and will it work or melt? Furthermore who will pay for the takeout needed to feed our family? He did not get it and consulted with supervisors for most of the call therefore 45 min of wasted call. No solution, self installation on an $800 Range. Dissatisfied CUSTOMER with an unusable Gas Range Burn HAZARD!! Poor Design oven vents less than 2 inches below stove knobs! See Photos.
