I have a Maytag dishwasher MDBH980AWQ10, within the 1st month of owning it there were issues. Now the electronic control panel is shot, dishwasher wont turn on. To replace it...almost the cost of what I paid, warranty has run out. In the last 7 years we have had problems with 5 various Maytag products, replaced our Maytag dishwasher which lasted 20 yrs and Maytag washer & dryer that lasted 30+ years and ran without a hitch. Maytag has not been helpful at all and their authorized service repair. A&E Repair Service is a bigger scam than they are. It is a waste of my finances and time to buy major appliances every 5 years. Each and every one of their new appliances has died shortly after all the warranties have run out. Im beyond frustrated, disgusted, and financially drained. It does not pay to be brand loyal to Maytag for they are no longer respectful nor appreciative of their customers. I would love to give corporate the opportunity to enjoy the same products that are in my home...in their homes...as well as the experience of their customer service. Last Maytag purchase for me! Is there anything that I can do in the meantime so Im not stuck with their lemons?

Maytag Washer over 3 years old. Often problematic not functioning smoothly! Maytag invented this defective machine to intentionally rob the customer with all the probs that comes with it - poor design & quality, & not logistically programmed! I have had the Maytag Bravos washer since November 2010. This washer does not clean clothes. They are never even submerged in water. Had I known this, I would never have purchased it. The salesman at Sears surely didnt mention it. I remember being disappointed at the fact that there wasnt a washer in the place with an agitator. I am disgusted with the washer and the company. I realized that it has been over 12 months since we purchased it, but most people do not feel the need to investigate what is going on under the lid of their washer. I unfortunately assumed that the washer was going to wash! Silly me. No, it does a little spin spin and a little spritz of water (literally, thats it) and at the end, you are left with funk concentrated in the creases of your twisted up, stinky clothes. No agitator plus no water equals no clean! The smell is awful. Someone else described it best - a mildewy basement.Anyone else who is claiming that their clothes do not stink with this machine are surely being deceived by strong perfumes in their detergent and fabric softener. To get a true idea of what their clothes really smell like, they should wash a few times with a scoop of borax and no fabric softener. Then tell us how they smell. I am convinced that the entire line of HE washers is a sophisticated line of crap! They use such small amounts of detergent because that little bit of water going into it will not get any more soap out, much less sweat, dirt and lots of other nasty stuff. This may not be a big deal to other people, but it is huge to me. We have a small homestead. Our clothes get dirty. We spent several hundred dollars of hard earned money on a name we trusted and they do not care.Every load, every day, I am reminded of this fact and it infuriates me. Im not typically one to write in complaints, but as an American citizen where there is a free market (somewhat), I have an obligation. If a product is really good, the makers deserve my praise. Likewise, if the product is really bad, the makers (and refuses to compensate in any way) deserve my complaint, as do my hardworking fellow Americans shopping around for a new washer. Stay away from Maytag and if at all possible, stay away from HE machines. It is so true that they dont make them like they used to.PS: Maytag tried to blame this issue on government regulation when I called. Im sick of this passing the buck. I am fully aware of the chokehold government regulations have on business, but they only hurt small business. To act as if this is not a partnership between the government and big business (like Maytag) only adds insult to injury. Take a look at the money spent lobbying by this company. Disgusting. The good news is, any success they currently enjoy will not last.

I thought washers are supposed to last 10 years or something. 3 years and I have to replace it. I dont know who Im more dissatisfied with - Maytag or Direct Appliance where I purchased it. Just thought I would rant and warn others about this brand. The computer died so it doesnt know what cycle its on. Repair guy said its unfixable. ARGH!

Our circuit board has went out twice. The stove is not designed well. The oven vent sends hot air over the plastic panel / circuit board. It melts... The first one was under warranty and the second, only three years later, was not. This is a very expensive part and Maytag will not even talk about giving me a discount.

My refrigerator outer case has felt very warm to the touch at the section between the top freezer door and the lower refrigerator door for several years. I thought this was a normal function of the defrost mode. It is now very hot to the touch so that I cannot touch it for more than a few seconds. I dont know how long it has been like this. This cannot be normal. I did some online checks and found that there was a Consumer Product Safety Commission Recall release #09-145 and 09-322 that warns about the same problem I am having. My model # (MTB215) matches the recall, however, the last two characters in my serial # is WQ does not. This problem appears to be very consistent with the problem in the recall releases.

Deceptive company and won’t stand behind their product! Purchased brand new washer. Identified and reported noise that I can hear upstairs in my house while washing to technician. Changed a part, not related to the noise. Called back out. He admitted he could hear the noise. Whirlpool engineering department says normal. Sorry, I should never hear a clicking noise upstairs with two closed doors and 150 feet between me and the washer. Will be going back to Samsung next time.

3 years ago, we purchased all new Maytag appliances for our home. Within one year, we had issues with the top load refrigerator getting warm and the bottom load freezer getting extremely cold. After calling Maytag and getting horrible customer service (long wait on the phone, no supportive/suggestive advice, rude representative), we were given a phone number for a local Maytag repair man who charged $300 just to walk into the house.He was literally in and then out of our house within 10 minutes. His advice was to unplug and defrost the refrigerator for 24 hours. Thankfully, his suggestion worked, but should have been given to us as a troubleshooter by the representative on the phone with Maytag.We have had to unplug and defrost the refrigerator about every 3 weeks since. It has become very annoying and stressful. There is obviously a defect in the refrigerator that should be replaced by Maytag! I will never buy a Maytag product again.

I think so much about Maytag dishwasher with electronic controls that I decided to fix up my Maytag mdb3700awx by replacing the motor. It has an old fashion timer. It was trouble free for 10 years until the water supply line fail and sprayed water on the motor and shorted it out. I got a use motor and pump from eBay for 40 dollars. The dishwasher should last 20 more years. Too bad Maytag dont make them like they use to.

MVWC565FWO Maytag Top Load - Bought a new washing machine less than six months ago... extremely noisy: Clank, Clank, Clank, Clank, etc. Reviews said it was just noisy, nothing wrong with it. Last week it would not spin the clothes dry. Now when it is plugged in, it does nothing but run the pump! No lights, no water. Also the deep wash was never deep at all - barely covered a modest load of laundry. Repair coming today. Wish I could return it.

Oven worked ok for a year and went under right day after warranty expired. I called factory-approved repair people in Brooklyn but was told repair would cost more than buy new oven. I contacted factory but got no help either.

Purchased a Maytag Bravos XL less than 3 years ago Model MVWB725BW0. We have had several repair calls. From reading complaints from others, I have the same: clothes balloon, clothes rip, dark clothes have a scum on them, even a blanket goes off balance and it is hard to start the cycle. It goes off balance all the time, makes a squeaky sound when agitating and the housekeeper can never figure out what cycle to run the clothes on because they always go off balance, there is a loud vibration, etc. The last repair call was for an actual leak on the floor! The appliance company charged us $95 for the service call, did nothing, and told us the parts would be more expensive than a new washing machine. Went to Home Depot today and purchased an LG washer and dryer for over $1500. I am not even going to try to recoup anything from Maytag because this is the second Maytag that I have had a bad experience with and didnt learn a lesson in the first place. Junk. :(

I purchased the Maytag oven in January and have had the service technician out 5 times to try to repair the oven because it doesnt heat properly. Theyve told me that because I live in a condominium that it is normal for the oven to take an hour to preheat, then another hour for the second oven to preheat. When I am baking the oven does not hold the temperature and anything I bake takes much longer than it should. They refuse to get me a new oven.

Our experience with our Maytag refrigerator has been anything but good! It has the model # and serial # of the ones that have been recalled, only we have just found out about this. We bought this new at Sears. Soon after, it started having troubles with the freezer, would freeze up and the whole thing would stop working. Over the years, we have had repair after repair, money after money. Just for the record, my husband and I about every two weeks spend about one hour defrosting this monster! It looks nice on the outside.

This has been the worst washer I ever bought. First the washer does not fill with water even on the deep fill function. It pours little water and washes the clothes with basically no water. The sensor for the lid broke less than six months of using it, soap residue is left on the clothes. I do not recommend this washer at all.

Paid $900 for this side by side stainless steel model 15 years ago. Pros: performance, appearance, simplicity. Cons: none. Only 1 minor repair, and the repairman said this is 1 of only 2 makes he recommends.

Purchased my Maytag Bravo MVWX500XWO 4 years ago. While still under warranty I had to call for service once. I felt based on the Maytag reputation I didnt need to extend the warranty. WRONG!! My Maytag first started with the loud and fast spinning. Like it was about to explode! Then my washer started leaking. I thought I was having plumbing problems, so I called a plumber... wasnt the plumbing. My washer wasnt draining out completely so I finally called an appliance repairmen who immediately knew what the problem was ($109.90) for a 15 minute review. The leak was from the bottom of the washer... the seal around the transmission cracked, broke or whatever causing water to drain out in my garage. Also the main control board wasnt working. Repairman said it would cost me $700 to repair!! Really?!! My machine was practically new! Without hesitation the repairman said for me to call the Whirlpool/Maytag 800 number and they would offer me another washer for 50% off at their online outlet. Repairman said this always happens... Why would I want another Maytag or Whirlpool!! Please do not buy the Maytag Bravo... Can you imagine if this happened with a car purchased... 4 years and then having to buy another car??!! Not reliable or worth your money!!

1 year 4 month old fridge went out. Waited a month for part/repair. No help from customer service. $1200 fridge, $700, lots of angry calls, no luck. Customer service is horrible. Add me to the long list of disgruntled buyers of a Maytag Dishwasher. Just like the other 488 people that similarly filed an unsatisfactory rating on this site I too am now on that list. And no surprise - the control panel ceased to function 13 months after I purchased the unit and one month after the manufacturers warranty expired. After brief inspection the problem was obviously a design error leading to premature wear of the electric ribbon in the handle. Phoned Maytag and they advised me it was the first theyd heard of this problem with the model. Only subsequently did I search to discover that the problem was so common it might be characterised as routine. Replace part was 8 weeks and Cdn $153, about 2x the US price. However they wouldnt ship it to me from the US. The repair isnt too difficult: 11 screws and a little patience if youre so inclined. Before installing take a few minutes to trim the plastic where the electronic ribbon strip passes from through the handle without clearance. Save yourself the same repair in another 13 months. Lesson learned - no more Maytag/Whirlpool dishwashers for us.

I wished I researched more before I purchased, but like most people, I believed in the reputation of Maytag. Like many others - my control panel started to go out 19 months after install: Had my first event with the washer; it would not allow me to select normal wash. A high-end machine shouldnt have electrical connection problems within 19 months, just 7 months after the warranty expires.When the repairman pulled apart our machine, he found a similarly burned looking touchpad ribbon cable, that was burned in exactly the same position as the photos shown on Maytags website under the review referred to. This is a review of a washer that is no longer sold. I bought a top of the line Maytag washer 45 years ago. After around 25 years the control (all mechanical) started sticking during the cycle. I opened it up, sprayed it with TV Tuner cleaner, worked it a few times, and it has worked perfectly ever since. That is the only problem or repair on that machine since it was purchased!

We purchased a Maytag dishwasher MDB7609AWS2 in October of 2010. It first stopped working about 2 years ago. Since it was only 2 years old, we were disgusted and decided to let it sit and do dishes by hand. About 2 months after it had stopped, we tried it on a fluke and it worked. It stayed working for about 2 years. It finally stopped again, so we did the same thing, just let it sit. Every once in a while we try it to see if it works. It just recently started working again. We are wondering, what is up with this. We are not sure why or how the sitting works, and it is ridiculous that you have to have an appliance that you cant use periodically. We were too stubborn to have it fixed or buy a new one at this level of newness. We will get by in this manner for at least another few years, so as not to have lost all of our investment in a dishwasher, but we have sworn off Maytag appliances forever.

I bought a Maytag dishwasher MDB7749AWM1 in May of 2011. Yesterday, the on button would not work, so I called a serviceman out from Maytag. He said the whole panel needs to be replaced, parts and service will cost me $240.00. What a shame. 2 months out of warranty. I had two previous Maytag dishwashers, lasted for years with no problem. The newer models are junk, do not buy them! I can see by the other complaints that they had the same problem. They do not stand behind their product. I wonder how long the new panel will last? I bought a brand new Maytag washer and dryer at Home Depot and did not use until a week later when I found out that the washer did not spin out the water and the machine turned off automatically when cycle was not finished. As a result my load was soaking wet. I called Maytag customer service and they sent the technician. I was standing next to the technician to see what was wrong with the washer. After checking several things and seeing the unresponsive of the washer the technician told me the control unit failed and the clutch also failed. He had to order the parts and it will take at least a week for him to come back and fix it.I called Maytag customer services and complained about the brand new washer and ask them to replace it with a new one as I dont know if the problems returns and it doesnt have just one failing part. Both the controlling unit and the clutch were failed. Also i bought a brand new products I expect it to work. I dont want to pay for brand new washer and I could not use it plus it took so much of my time going back and forth between Home Depot and Maytag. It was so stressful and I had tons of laundry that need to be done. I also had to take half a day off to call the Maytag customer services and Home Depot.During my first call with Maytag customer services I asked them to call my local Home Depot so Home Depot will allow me to exchange for another Maytag washer. They had refused at first but when I told them all the reasons above they agreed to call Home Depot and allow the replacement. They asked to hang on the phone while they were calling Home Depot and finally confirmed with me that I could go there and do the replacement.Surprisingly when I came to Home Depot they said they did not get any notes or call from Maytag regarding my PO# and the replacement. I had to wait for 1hr and 15 minutes for the Home Depot to be able to connect to Maytag customer services and we had to wait for their supervisor to approve the replacement. I was so disappointed later to hear Maytag supervisor telling Home Depot that I had to wait for the repair and they did not approve the replacement. Its really a waste of time and money to buy Maytag products and they dont honor what they said to customers. Once you pay them they take your money and dont really care whether their product is worth the money consumers spend on them. In general its a rip-off!!! Stay away from Maytag products if you dont want to waste your time and money!!

I own a Maytag dishwasher - it is a few years old now. I first filed a complaint in 2011. We have had it repaired several times - the control panel keeps breaking. Why is it that my grandmothers old dishwasher worked for 30-40 years and now you are lucky if you can get an appliance that works for a year without breaking? This planned obsolescence is ridiculous. This Maytag Bravos is the worst washing machine I have ever had. Who ever heard of washing with almost no water? Takes way too long. Clothes not clean. Any water savings way offset by ridiculous length of washing time. I can wash and dry a load of clothes in an old stacking washer/dryer before one finishes washing in this thing. I was excited to get it and now cant wait for it to go. Wont make this mistake again.

After buying this dishwasher model MDB6759WWW3 in Jan. 2010, I fully expected it to work longer than it did! So far, the control panel has been replaced 5 times. The last time was Sept. 17, 2012 and already it is out again. I talked with Customer Service, since Georgia has a lemon law. After 4 times it is to be replaced.They had no record of the part that was replaced, just that a technician had come and repaired (by ordering the same part they had no knowledge of). This time they will either replace or instead of me calling, my lawyer will call. I will never buy another Maytag product and will encourage anyone else not to buy either. My daughter had the same experience with a refrigerator, a piece of junk they did nothing about. By the way, I have an extended warranty plan, which should not even be necessary!

My original Maytag washer lasted over 25 years (still using dryer purchased in 1977). But the Maytag model SAV 4655AWW I bought a few years ago is a piece of junk! Not long after it was out of warranty, it started making noise. Not overly loud, but noisy. Since then, though it makes such a loud noise, you can hear it 3 rooms away. It leaks water from the seals, shakes and vibrates all over the place (even when level). The rocking appears to be due to pathetic self-leveling legs they put on the back of the washer. I had to put a 2x4 on the back side of the washer to keep it stable. That took care of the rocking, but still noisy, leaking water and now it gets off balance when spinning and stops. It also wont start sometimes and you can smell it overheating. The transmission is now going out of it. This thing has been one issue after another. What is worse about it is I saw in another forum that this washer wasnt even made by Maytag. Supposedly Maytag bought? After the purchase, they just put their name on it. I bought a Maytag because of the dependability of their previous products, so Im thoroughly disappointed in their company and products. If I had wanted a washer built by some other company, I would have purchased it versus theirs. If you purchase a Maytag, you expect to get a product designed and built by them. Ill never buy another Maytag product and Ill thoroughly research the product Ill buy to replace this hunk of junk. My advice would be dont waste your money on Maytag.

Since the day I bought the Maytag Bravos XL washer it never worked correctly. An entire year of several repair men, which half said there was something wrong and other half said nothing was wrong with it. Now it sits in my garage as the most expensive paperweight. After repeated requests, the Whirlpool company that owns Maytag now refuses to stand by their product, replace it, refund it or anything at all. They have washed their hands, yet I cannot wash my clothes in it!

We (family of 2) purchased our Maytag Bravo XL Washing Machine Model#MVWB880BW in Nov. 2013 for over $700.00. Last week, Dec. 2019, the washer would not finish the rinse/spin cycle. The clothes were still wet. I researched troubleshooting in the Maytag booklet included with the machine and tried everything. It still showed an OL on the readout. It was not overloaded as I only had 3 towels, 3 washcloths, and 3 hand towels in the washer. I tried just the rinse/spin cycle alone to get the water out of the clothes, but they remained wet, and the OH still appeared on the machine. When I called the place where we bought it, they suggested unplugging it, waiting and plugging it back into the outlet to possibly reset the machine. That seemed to work for 1 very small washload. The next day, I tried washing again and the OH appeared with the clothes still being wet. We had a repair person come out. The service call/diagnostic of $116.98 plus repairs of $304.41 plus $95.00 to install of the new Motor Control Board. I feel that cost is excessive for only 6 years of service. Before we bought this machine in 2013, I had a Maytag which lasted over 20 years with NO problems. I always thought Maytag was the best washer, but this experience has proven to change my mind. We went out and bought another washer rather than replacing the board not knowing how long the new one would last. Needless to say, we did not buy another Maytag. I do not feel I can trust the Maytag products anymore. After this experience, I did more research on the Direct Drive used in this particular model washing machine and found that it had been problematic. I would have thought Maytag would have offered a recall to avoid these costs/problems and avoid dissatisfied customers. Along with the original purchase of the Maytag washer in 2013, we did buy the matching dryer and are hoping the dryer will last longer than the washer. We shall see.... This has been an unexpected and expensive lesson.

I bought a Maytag dishwasher from Home Depot in February 2012, $700. After a few months, the buttons stopped working and the machine was unresponsive. I called Home Depot and they fixed it under the warranty. This continued to happen every 2-3 months. After a year of dealing with this, the warranty expired and I had to purchase the manufacturer extended warranty with Maytag, $240 for 5-years of coverage. The problem continued, and every few months, the thing would stop working and I would have to call for service - 2 to 4 weeks without a dishwasher waiting for service appointment then parts and another appointment for the repair.Perhaps my machine was just a lemon. I dont think they make that model anymore. Heres the number so that you can avoid a three year headache of a machine, MD87749 AWM2. I will say that after MANY agonizing phone calls with warranty company, after 2 years of ongoing service calls, they eventually issued me a check to replace my lemon.

My microwave started acting up, after about 5 months. It would not cook a complete cycle, without an error saying that the door is open, and needs to be closed. The repairman has been out 5 times already, and the problem is still not corrected. Maytag/Whirlpool has said they will not replace item, then they decided they would possibly replace at a pro-rated amount. So, I have to purchase a microwave twice, to have one that works? Somehow, I feel Im being taken for a ride in this deal.

I bought a Maytag washer about 4 months ago and the dryer the washing machine has went down a couple of times but I managed to get it to start again. This time it will not start back up. It just as a little water and stuff and will not lock and wash. It never gets the clothes clean and you have to wash them twice or at least a residue on the clothing. I hate this washer and Im very saddened that Maytag will not come out - told me that they had to find someone. There was no one in the area that could fix my washer. It has been nearly a week now and no response from them. Im going to have to buy another washer. I am so upset to spend nearly 800 some dollars on a brand new washing machine and it does not work. I think that was all the complaints that I have seen on this page so somebody needs to put them on the news and also someone needs to start a lawsuit against this company. Shame on you Maytag. Very unhappy with your product and you.

I bought this Centennial washer about 7 weeks ago and it has worked right for 4 of those weeks. The washer wouldnt spin the clothes and they came out soaked. Service guy came out and said it was the computer panel and he didnt have one. So I waited over a week for another service call. He put that one and said that now the transmission was shot and he didnt have one, another wait. This is a piece of junk. Do not buy Maytag or Whirlpool products. I had a Maytag for 15 years and had one service call. They are not what they used to be.

The problem with this dryer (MGD7230HW) is the sensors for drying time dont work. The dryer keeps going even when the contents are dry. Have to use manual timer to conserve energy. Not worth the cost.

Belt broke in inside under tub after 13 months $150. Now another year and I am getting an error message F51 and it stops washing. Im done. Old Maytag lasted 14 years. This is done in 2. Im not paying any more to have it fixed for whatever F51 is. Im cutting my losses now. Hate this machine the way it washes anyway. Always feel like its gonna take off for Mars to join Matt Damon. HA. I try to laugh to stop being mad. Dont buy these. It gets no stars. And after reading other reviews, it deserves none. Shame on this company! Ugh, its making me put a star rating. But I say none.

Save money. I have always had Maytag & loved them until I bought the Bravos xl top load washer. The salesperson insisted it was a large capacity energy efficient w/ great maintenance record -- greatly misleading. The water level does not rise enough to effectively clean or rinse so clothes do not get cleaned or detergent doesnt rinse out thus allowing only 2 to 3 towels or jeans to wash per load. Such ineffective cleaning cycles create the ongoing need for loads to be rewashed and be extremely small, yielding credence to other consumers’ accusations of being mislead and false advertising of xl capacity. As such, it takes hours to wash a family of threes clothes. The machine shakes like crazy and clothes get ruined as they get twisted and tangled into each other ripping, tearing, misshaping and ruining them.

Most every post about Maytag/Whirlpool dishwashers reads the same. Mine is no different. The control panel on my model MDB7749SBM1 has failed after about 16 months of use. Its a lose-lose situation for the consumer, as the cost of parts and labor for the repair equals or eclipses the replacement cost of a new unit.Another fine example of the degradation of an American brand, once known for quality and reliability. Dont be fooled by the branding. Buyer beware!

Bravos XL Top loading High Efficiency Low Water Washer and Dryer - I gave this washing machine a 1 star but would give it a 0 star or less if the choice was available. I agree with everything others have voiced about this washer. I end up using the bulky cycle for everything because it is the only cycle I have found that will use enough water to get the clothes moving around. All the other cycles are a joke. First you must put everything around the wall of the tub away from the so called agitator. Then about 2 cups of water enters the machine. It then goes into this high speed spin. In my opinion it just pushes any soil deeper into the fibers. The drum will then spin slowly and water will spray on the clothes for several minutes but the washer never fills with enough water to cover the clothes. Watching it agitate through the glass top is almost hysterical. Laundry is barely moving. The high speed spin they push as a selling point puts deep wrinkles in everything and the wrinkle control setting on the dryer does nothing for them. It is absolutely the worst machine I have ever owned. My husband has repeatedly told me to sell these and buy another set. I will be ashamed to sell it to anyone. Im not sure how the makers of Maytag got away with selling these machines. I know there are different models but from what I have read they all work the same. I replaced a very low end GE Washer and Dryer with this pair and every time I do laundry I wish I had them back. The matching dryer is very costly to run as almost every load takes 2 cycles to get items dry. Nothing comes out completely dry even if you put it on the more dry setting.

We had perfectly working 20 year old top loading white Whirlpools w/ an agitator, when we remodeled our home and wanted new pretty grey appliances and decided to donate our machines to the church. I chose Maytag top loading due to their former reputation we experienced with dishwashers, etc. It had an agitator, deep fill option, extra rinse, etc. The sales person at Home Depot stated, the agitator is because people like you still want the agitator, and the deep fill will give you the water you have been used to. Not so at all!!Clothes get wound up together, even with filling the wash tub in bundles, there is almost NO water to thoroughly clean & the rinse cycle is a joke. Clothes do NOT come out clean. Im 58 yrs. old and have been doing laundry since I was 13 so I know what I am doing. Its just my husband and I now, and he is so upset that his clothes are pilling probably from rubbing together, even though I occasionally use laundry bags. I seriously wish I would have saved my money and kept the 2 perfectly working whirlpool units I had. This has been such a disappointment. I sincerely would not buy these.P.S. Weve had service out at least 5 times in the last year, and all they do is test the washer and tell us its working as intended... The last thing that is going to happen is we are going to get refunded for a different set, even though we were educated over and over what it would do by Home Depot associates. We are heartbroken. Maytag is going to lose their former reputation on these washers a dryers :( There is simply not enough water to clean or rinse things!

It is nice to know that there are other people out there that have the same problem with the Maytag washers cabinet inside and outside rusting. Our rusting is around the bleach area rim and on the outer seam of the washer. Our washer is now 4 years old. We started having the rusting problems in 2011. We called Maytag and of course. They are sorry for our problem but cant do anything about it. They made it sound like we were the only ones having this problem. We need to stand strong and continue to complain about this problem until Maytag takes responsibility for their poor quality washers. Anyone out there looking to purchase a washer. Do your homework. Buyer beware of Maytag washing machines!!!!

It’s washing day today, so I’m angry, frustrated and livid to do it in my Maytag machines. I’m 72 years old and been doing this for 53 years. It’s not a job you love to do but you do it. I finally get to be able to afford whatever machines I want, so what do I do, buy Maytag. They are beautiful, see through top load, and see through dryer. So finally I get to use them, what a letdown. I don’t understand how they can put these machines on the market. Unbelievable! Also very expensive. The sensor for the water level is way off. It starts washing with hardly no water covering the clothes so this is where I put it on pause and add buckets of water to wet at least the clothing. I did a test to see how the clothes moved inside when washing. It was a load of white towels and I put in a bright green face cloth to see how it moved around in there. Well what a surprise, it stayed on top and moved about 3 inches to the right. That’s all it did. You don’t call that washing, I call that soaking! Terrible washer! I could go on and on but I’m getting too upset. Now for the dryer, the sensors don’t work right so what I do is use the timer and the temperature buttons only. Sometimes clothes gets stuck under the lint basket and by the time the buzzer tells me the load is finished drying, it is so twisted that it’s wrinkled forever. It has ruined a beautiful tablecloth of mine. I can’t sell these machines because I would feel very bad to pass them to someone else…Maytag does but not me. Because of my age I won’t be getting new machines probably, I’m stuck with them, but I would advise anyone shopping for a new washer and dryer, go out there and see what they have, come back home and look for reviews which I did not. Bad mistake! Note: I searched everywhere to write this review to Maytag on their website, none to be found!

Ive owned the stainless steel version of the Maytag dishwasher model MDB7749SBM purchased on Sept 6th 2013. July of 2014, my first control panel went out. Lights not responding. Was within the 1 year warranty period. Now, that panel is acting up again. I called Platinum Factory service and they wanted to charge me for a new panel and the labor. Well, I used a few choice words on how I felt and the customer service person said the part would be free. Well, nothings free as I scheduled a visit by the Platinum Factory Service. They of course call 5 times to make sure you are home. The day of the service, the tech calls me to see if Im home. I of course said I am... then, he goes to tell me the labor charge for him to come out and hourly rate will come to $189!!! I said screw it and dont bother. Maytags quality and engineering SUCK. Avoid them...

I bought a Maytag washer November Thanksgiving of 2013. This washer started giving problems three months after; problems such as the cycle stop turn over properly, the light would say wash but its not washing. It would just stop but the light stuck on wash for long periods of time. Press the pause/start/cancel button, it would sometimes start again and stop and let out the water quickly. The clothes would be filled with water and not wash properly. This the funny part, serious funny part. I contacted Maytag on countless time. They had me on hold so long I had to hang up; a hold for hour I am talking about. One day I finally got through. They gave me a number to contact because where I am located there is no tech. I never got anyone but the machine when I called the number after countless times of trying. I decided to called back Brandsmart, because I just think its not right and fair to me to purchase a washer for so much, to had it shipped for more money. It didnt last me NO time at all and I cannot get any help. Well! Brandsmart told had to have paid export shipping, something I never was offered and since I took it out of the country, there is nothing they can do for me. I hunted for my receipt and to this day I I still have it. All was offered was warranty parts and labor for a month, thirty days. I said no because I would not think anything would go wrong in that short period of time. Nevertheless was not offered any export shipping warranty like what they are trying to ** me with. Here is my receipt number **. I grieve presently how I was just robbed of my money so openly when all I wanted was a replacement.

I am 65 years old and for all of my life there has always been a Maytag washer and Dryer in our home. My great grandmother and great grandfather had a gasoline powered Maytag. My maternal grandmother had wringer-Maytag and my parents have always purchased Maytags. When I was on my own I purchased Maytags. In November of 2012 I purchased a Maytag Bravos XL washer and dryer. I had no reservations because it was Maytag. In October of this year (2017), the washer starting roaring and I had purchased an extended warranty. I called a reported this. A local appliance repair provider was sent out after I called the 800 number on the warranty agreement. I waited several days and finally called the repair provider and was told the parts needed were backordered. Time rocked on several weeks with no communication until I began calling both repair provider and warranty company. Still no washer repair. Ultimately, the resolution was not to repair or replace the washer, but to refund the purchase price and sales tax. The Home Depot salesman that sold us the washer and dryer, as well as the extended warranty coverage assured us that should either the washer or dryer fail it would be repaired or replaced, neither occurred. This left me without a washer for more than a month. Then finally I called the warranty company used by Home Depot and I was told a refund check would be sent for the washer, along with laundry reimbursement check. My difficulty with this is even though I got my money back on the washer and some of my expense on having the laundry and dry cleaning done elsewhere, it does address the issue. Simply, I see the Maytag commercials all the time and they are simply noise on TV now. I am still wondering how this could happen to a washing machine that had less than two and half years of use, never abused, cared for could fail in five years. I was used to having Maytags last decades with little or no repairs. Given the fact this machine was top of the line and well taken care of, I so very disappointed and not buy another Maytag of any kind again. By the way, I have a home in the country with a 27 year Maytag washer and 20 year old Maytag dryer that come from my home in town that Bravos XL dryer replaced. My research during all of this has led me to conclude this is not an isolated incident, but far larger problem with these washing machines. Why has there not been a recall on these inherently defective washers been issued. Where is the justice in this, even though the refund and small laundry reimbursement has been received it does not make any happier. I have lost my confidence in Maytag and I thought that could not happen with Maytag.

I purchased Maytag washer and dryer on 12/6/2011 and they required four repairs of the same problem. The bellow and rubber seal continually break and rip. Same issue all four times and Maytags response was to get a second opinion. Okay, same issue and same problem. Maytag does not warranty their machines for a full year and have yet to solve the problem with the machine.

Maytag has really gone downhill. Had trouble with a factory defect in a new French door Maytag refrigerator within a few months (had it returned) and now the Maytag Centennial EcoConserve Top Load Washer no longer spins after only just barely 2 years of use... I will NEVER buy Maytag again. That is a promise. I will put more money and buy more expensive products from your rivals if it means avoiding Maytag products. That is my advice to anyone reading this review. The washer was used for MAYBE 10 loads of laundry per month... Yes, just for two people who have desk jobs so It was never stressed out. Used HE laundry detergent. Quality is a thing of the past for this company. Your reputation is in the doghouse.

This washer has been the biggest disappointment of any appliance I have ever bought. Purchased 12/2012 and immediately disliked it but thought I needed to get used to the new style since my previous machine operated for 23 yrs! It is loud and does not clean as effectively as my last machine. It stays in the Sensing mode for 15 mins or longer. Rarely will it spin as it should. Most loads, after the sensing stops and the lights go out, I have to move the dial to Drain/Spin, wait for it to sense again and then maybe it will spin. If this doesnt work I have to unplug the machine to allow it to reset. I called Maytag and was told there are no known issues with the machine. I google this model and find many customers have had a similar problem.

We have had Maytag washers in the past, and they always worked well and were reliable. Not so with the Bravos washing machine. It is by far the worst excuse for a washing machine weve ever used. It does NOT clean clothes. It merely ingrains the dirt more into fabric. In four years, we have complained repeatedly to Maytag to try and get some kind of remedy to no avail. Maytag is simply not interested in standing behind their product. So now, after two generations, they have lost us as customers forever and we are telling anyone who will listen; DO NOT BUY A MAYTAG WASHER. They are terrible and not what they once were.

All I can say is, Wow. My Maytag washer and dryer have never needed anything in 21 years of service. Purchased in 1997 at Lowes in Chambersburg, PA. Both work and look like new! Both are top of the line units. Would buy again!

Brand new washing machine model MHW8200FW purchased at Karls, a Ferguson subsidiary, in Madison, NJ end of June, 2017. I wanted to buy a top of the line machine and this is what the sales person recommended to me. Problems started soon after purchase. Initially I contacted Maytag because the machine wouldnt spin dry a cotton bath mat weighing 4.5lbs soaking wet. I was told I should put more items in the machine to help balance it. Well there WERE more items and the machine wouldnt spin dry them either. I tried every trouble shooting Maytag suggested. Having exhausted my nerves, I called for service. The technician came and said these machines are extremely sensitive and that sometimes they wont even run an empty cycle. He said this is a common complaint with these units. One of his suggestions was to take bath mats, duvets, comforters... articles like that to a laundromat.I did less than 10 wash cycles after his visit when the washer started having more issues and finally broke down completely. The technician who came this time wrote a repair order indicating a mechanical (Stator) AND electrical (Control Panel) breakdown ($500+ for the parts alone if the unit wasnt under warranty). He also stated that he had never seen such problems in a brand new machine.I contacted Maytag for an exchange. Maytag customer service wrote to me that the breakdowns are ... normal, with all the units we sell some may have a defect in the first couple of months... and refused to exchange my defective unit. I can accept that there may be a defect that will warrant a repair, but in this case there are multiple defects in separate systems - mechanical and electrical - within the first month of service. This shouldnt warrant any further discussion, only a quick replacement and an apology.

This product is not worth the money or irritation. It does not wash your clothes well and now mine wont spin. I have to completely unplug the machine and start it up to drain and spin. It takes 1 1/2 to wash one load of clothes. Its supposed to be energy efficient. Im pretty sure its not! I waste more time and electric doing a load of clothes than it takes to dry a load of clothes. Im dumping this thing for a real washer, one that works. I do not recommend this washing machine. I purchased the Bravo at Lowes.

We purchased all new appliances 3 years ago including a Maytag dishwasher. Same problem as a lot of others. We had the control board fail three times in just four months. Now today the repairman came and while he was here contacted other Sears technicians and Whirlpool technicians. They came up with the idea to replace the detergent dispenser which they said is causing the main control board to fail. However, while the tech was on the line with Sears and Whirlpool they done troubleshooting on the detergent dispenser and found that it was all within specifications. In fact, that was not a problem because it worked as it should. But in their wisdom they decided to replace the detergent dispenser. We now have to wait another ten days for the part to arrive and reschedule another appointment to have the detergent dispenser that works replaced. The serviceman that was at our house said that they are making him replace a part that is working and that this does not need to be done but he has to take instructions from Sears technicians. Our service person said that he doesnt anticipate that replacing the detergent dispenser will make the dishwasher work but he said if it does it will only last a few weeks as before and then fail once again. We have the dishwasher on extended warranty and there are about 22 months. I suspect that this one will be going to court to get resolved. Never Maytag again or Whirlpool.

Maytag washing machine is the loudest machine Ive ever heard. It doesnt wash the clothes well leaves spots. We had a new barrel put in and it still walks across the floor. The water level doesnt come up high enough, makes grinding noises and it takes forever for the wash to be done. How can you say its an energy saver if it goes on for an hour or so. Very dissatisfied and pissed off.

I have called numerous times and the satisfaction is out the window. The MOLD is so bad on the gasket that I can not get it off and it just keeps getting worse. My clothes smell musty even after they are washed. Really fed up... I have had different Maytags for at least 40 years and I will not purchase another one at this point. Apparently your customer service is as bad as some of your machines. My word of mouth is not good advertising for you.

I had the exact same experience as the Tampa person with my Maytag dishwasher (Model: MDBTT60AWW). It was not cleaning the dishes, even when I thoroughly rinsed them. Plus, it started leaking midway through the cycle. Since the warranty was expired, I purchased an extended warranty in July 2012 for $296 (yes, in hindsight, I should have just bought a new appliance, not Maytag). I had 3 visits from 2 different technicians, both telling me the dishwasher did not leak. One telling me I was using the wrong kind of detergent and thats why dishes werent getting cleaned. The other telling me that there were too much suds and that could cause it to leak. So, I should pour a tablespoon of cooking oil (yes, cooking oil) in the dishwasher when it starts leaking and that will cut down the suds. I dont think so!Then, I found out a couple of weeks ago that this model was under a recall since 2010, not related to the leak at all. Yet, Maytag still sold me the extended warranty (wheres the ethics of that?). I requested a pro-rated refund of the balance on the warranty - and wouldnt you know that with the technicians service calls, the amount of time used on the warranty (6 months) plus an admin fee - I have used $296.48 of the warranty amount. It is almost to the exact penny of what I originally paid, so I will not be receiving any refund. They are only giving me a debit card of $150 or $250 once I buy a new Maytag to replace the recalled model. I do not want to continue down this frustrating path known as Maytag appliances.

We bought a Maytag Gemini double oven in June 2007. It has been a problem from day one. It arrived with a damaged door. They reordered and replaced it. Through the next few months, I became very discouraged with the oven. I bake a good bit and was always used to an oven with fairly accurate temperature. This oven will not reach or sometimes just wont maintain a steady temperature. After a couple of service calls, I gave up. I now raise the temperature setting about 50-75 degrees higher that the recipe requires. Naturally, I dont always get the best results. However, that isnt the thing that really bothers me. These ovens have three ignitors. About every six months, one breaks. The cost is over $200.00 each time. The ovens/broiler are highly unreliable. After mixing up something or on an important holiday, one may find that the oven wont light. Theres no warning! It is simply gone. I will never again buy a Maytag! I called Maytag and questioned them about the lemon law. I was told that the same piece had to break three times in one year. That is crazy, when the entire thing doesnt and has never worked well.

Bought this Maytag Bravo washer in 2013 expecting long service life like I had with my previous machine. After 2 years spin cycle noise got progressively worse. Until now it roars loudly and keeps stopping in the spin cycle for rebalancing. Called Maytag. Experience was as described as others have reported with them and their repair service. Absolutely no help unless I spend another $310 for extended warranty to cover the $380 part (tub and bearing - 1 unit - cant get only the bearing). Paid $800 for the washer now more for the repair wanted. $1100-$1200 for a machine that will need repair again in a couple of years? Dont think so. This machine is only good for a boat anchor. Going out today to buy a replacement for $400 and it wont be a Maytag or its affiliates brand. Feel like a class action suit would be good for Maytag to wake up to.

Purchased a Maytag dishwasher 1 1/2 years ago and the panel went out. I paid $550.00 for this item, wanted to get a nicer one hoping it would last. Of course they only have a year guarantee for parts and Labor. Will not buy another Maytag appliance again!!!

We bought our Maytag dishwasher less than 2 years ago (model MDB8969SDM0) and we are remodeling our kitchen now January 2018, and when we pulled the dishwasher out we found that the wire (12/2) had melted into the back panel. We won’t be putting this Maytag back in.

I bought a full kitchen of Maytag appliances when I bought a new house in 2009. I thought it was a reliable company. Id always gone with GE before. I couldnt get the packing sticker off the oven after trying everything to remove it, so the oven bottom is virtually ruined. The timer on the oven dings once and stops; dinner burns if Im not right there to hear it. I was told by customer service thats the way it works, so I had to buy a separate timer. I am now replacing my 2 ½-year-old dishwasher because the control panel has once again stopped working. It cost me $275 to fix the first time and it lasted less than 3 months. I will never buy Maytag again! I got over 20 years of service from my GE appliances.

I have been on the chatline with Maytag customer service for two days, trying to enforce my warranty, which expires next week. My washer flooded my kitchen over the weekend, and I contacted Maytag to schedule the repair under the warranty. First, the woman, Aisha, looked up my registration, and confirmed that I was who I said I was, that my address and phone number had not changed, and told me that according to the records, the washer was purchased on 2/7/2011. Whats the problem? First, they wanted the model and serial numbers. I realized that this is important information in determining what machine needs what repairs, except there was not one sticker anywhere on my washer! Aisha said that the technician would not perform the repair, if the manufacturer did not install the model information properly on the machine. As if I had any control over the placement, or lack thereof, of proper ID for the washer. This was followed by a request for proof of purchase. I explained that I moved, and misplaced it, but I would have it emailed to me from the original purchaser. I was told that unless she could verify the proof of purchase, and the date of purchase, she could not schedule the repair under the warranty. This is despite the fact that not 5 minutes ago, she had just read this information from her computer! I asked her why would I register someone elses washer under my name and address? She didnt care. I told her I would have the receipt emailed the next day, and she stated that regardless of the date I requested, and scheduled the repair, if the actual repair took place after the expiration date of the warranty, it still would not be covered! I told her that makes no sense. I have no control over your scheduling issues. If you cant honor the warranty if the repair is made after the expiration date, then I need a date prior to that. I am entitled to the terms of the warranty, and intend to use them. Aisha said again that, without proper proof of purchase and purchase date, without proper tags on the washer, and if the repair takes after the expiration date, it would not be covered. I disconnected from her, and reconnected with another rep, who told me that some of the information Aisha gave was incorrect. I can schedule the repair, get the receipt and email it, or submit it through the chat, and regardless of when the repair was actually done, the warranty would still be honored. This person couldnt be sure what effect the lack of proper tags would have on that. My third re-entry into the chat was no better. I located a copy of the receipt in my email, and contacted the chat again. An almost amazing thing happened! This woman again confirmed all of the information Aisha recited last night, and was prepared to schedule the repair, without even asking about proof of purchase. This woman, Jennifer, was willing to schedule the repair, verify that it would be covered under the warranty, even if it was after the expiration date, because I had called and arranged the appointment before the expiration date, and she was willing to have the missing manufacture tags replaced. I had to ask her three times to review the email, and confirm that I had the correct receipt for the technician. I asked if the technician in the course of repairing the washer, had to remove the drainage hose, could he either replace it with a longer one, or add an extension, because according to Lowes at the time of installation, the hose they installed was supplied by the manufacturer, not them. Jennifer stated that since he was only there to repair the leak, and installation is not covered under the warranty, I would have to pay for him to replace the wrong hose, with the correct hose myself, even if he removes it! I told her that she needed to ensure that the technician absolutely did not remove the drainage hose from the back of the washer during his repair, because if he removes a part that is obviously the wrong part, and then replaces the wrong part after his repair, I would file a complaint every single place I possibly could. Why would a repair technician remove a part, determine that it is the wrong part, and then put it back! That is like a mechanic repairing the axle of a car, and discovering the brakes are bad, but since he is only there to repair the axle, he replaces the bad brakes after fixing the axle! He was going to be able to replace the missing manufacturer tags, though! This entire process took at least 3 hours and two days. To date, Maytag/Whirlpool is absolutely the worst company I have had to deal with, right after Sears, and ahead of AT&T. The consequences are that so far, Maytag refuses to have the technician replace the wrong hose with the correct hose, if he removes it in the course of repairing my washer.

We purchased a Maytag dryer in Dec 2012 and several days ago the heating unit failed (mid April 2014). I did a quick search on this site and a few others where I saw numerous such issues with Maytag dryers. I realized that I was 4 months beyond the warranty period but took a shot at calling their customer service line to voice my displeasure only to get the company line that they could do nothing. My wife and I have been married 27 years this year and this was the 4th dryer we have purchased (1st and last Maytag) which obviously did not last like the other brands or like we expected. I definitely do not recommend this brand!

Absolutely the worst washer I have ever had. I have read some of the other reviews, wish I was smarter and checked this out before spending my hard earned money to buy this washer. My washer also is rusting at the top where the bleach goes. I never close the lid when not in use my basement is dry AND I never use bleach??? My clothes come out they are a tangled up mess. When I go to hang them they are partly dry. It isnt as though I stuff the washer NEVER put more than 8 shirts in at a time yet they all come out with dry streaks like that part of the clothing never even got wet. We all know what happens when you leave a tissue in your pocket and it goes through the washer... Well not with this washer the tissue sometimes came out as dry as it went in. HORRIBLE product. I want the old agitator/I SET THE WATER LEVEL type back. It takes forever to get laundry done. They should take these OFF the market and give us poor consumers some cash back.

I am so sorry to see so many people having the same problem. Maytag Dishwasher Model #MDB7749AWM2 purchased 12-10-11. Control Panel needs replaced (260.00...service call, part and labor). Writing this as Ive spent the last 20 mins on hold with Maytag. Im demanding them to make this right. Ive been told by Trisha at Maytag not to believe all these post as people tend to exaggerate the problems. Anybody have info on class action lawsuit? ?

I purchased all Maytag products for my new home three years age. The dishwasher stopped working 13 months after we purchased it. Since the home was under renovations for the first month, we only actually used it for 12 months. When I called Maytag, they told me that it was either the control panel or mother board and that they could not do anything because the warranty was only for 1 year... and didnt offer me anything to make good on this...NOW three years later, my microwave is displaying error code SE.. control panel is bad. Now I have not had a working dishwasher for two years and this just added salt to my wound. I called Maytag furious that this keeps happening with new products. The only thing they would offer to do is for me to purchase an extended warranty at $350.00 and they would have a repair guy fix the microwave. A brand new microwave would cost the same thing???? They flat out told me that there was nothing that they would do for me, and that they were not going to fix it for free.I filed a complaint with them and never heard back from anyone at Maytag. It seems strange that the control panels craps out within one to three years on two of the four Maytag products I purchased. I WILL NEVER BUY MAYTAG AGAIN... I went back to Home Depot and told them that MAYTAG has LOST me as a customer and that I purchased 4 major appliances from them and two stopped working with in 1 to 3 years. Home Depot was shocked and gave me $100.00 towards a new dishwasher. And I did not buy a Maytag.... I still do not have a working microwave... But when I do have the money to replace it, it will not be MAYTAG. Looking online, I notice a lot of the same complaints about Maytags control panels...... Could it be a scam on Maytags part???

I purchased top of the line Maytag washer and dryer in 1975! They are Harvest Gold. They were sold last week along with my house. I now have Whirlpool appliances in the rental apartment I moved to. There are some irritating features.

Maytag washer, top loader, Bravo series: We purchased Maytag washer and dryer 4 years ago. Last week, the washer started sounding like a 747 was landing in our laundry room. Maytag sent a service representative and informed us that the bearings were faulty and it would cost at least $800 to fix. It is appalling that a 4 year old appliance should fail like this. We will buy a different make and we will never buy any Maytag appliance again. This is such poor quality and worse service. Maytag would only offer a 30-40% off a washer, but only if we bought it directly from them. We can get a better offer from any local store. They also said we could get a discount on the part we need, but not the service. Do not, I repeat, do not buy Maytag anything. You will regret the purchase.

I have a Maytag Bravos XL and have white residue on all the clothes that get washed in this machine since I purchased it. I have always used HE Detergent and have followed all Maytags recommendations to reduce the white residue to no avail. I had to wash my clothes 5 times to get the residue off of my clothing and 4 of those were without any detergent and on all temperatures and wash cycles. Model # MVWB835DW.

I owned an front loading Maytag Neptune Front Load Washer MAH5500 for more than 10 years and first 5 yrs doing 2-3 loads a day for a family of 12 so this machine held up well, and only issue we had with the machine was the rubber around outside needed to be replaced after about 9 yrs.

This Bravos washer and dryer saves energy for sure, but sadly, that is it. It does not wash my clothes and rinse them adequately. They are so twisted and wrinkled I have ironed just about all my clothes. Even my synthetics are severely wrinkled. The dryer sensors do not work. They never dry the clothes adequately. The concept was good in that they are compact and have a large capacity, but the design does not work. I was lured in and unfortunately, there were no reviews at the time but I see that everyone shares my sentiments. The washer and dryer are just not any good. Thank you.

Absolutely the worst washer I’ve ever had! Do not buy this washer. Even after a double rinse there is white matter left all over everything! I’ve taken photographs of my laundry after two rinses and it’s disgusting. I will be quite happy to submit the photographs at any time.

This washer is the worst piece of junk I have ever purchased. From day 1 it never cleaned my clothing. It was too much money to call a repairman so I have lived with it since October 13, 2013 and I have finally been able to buy a new washer this week. My husband would come home from work and ask me why I put dirty clothing in his drawers, he said his clothes stunk and were stained. This washer just did not clean the clothing. It didnt use water. I cannot say how many times I would open it after washing a load and the clothes were dry. It saved water alright, it didnt use any and it was installed properly. If you are going to purchase a Maytag Centennial, run. Dont walk. Run, fly, look the other way, just dont buy this HUNK OF JUNK! I cant even sell it, so we will sell it on eBay for parts just to recoup some of our hard earned money! MAYTAG YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF!

Had previous Maytag for years. Good, reliable, easily repaired product. Cycle sequencing very recognizable. New washing machines are ridiculously designed. Neither you nor the repairman have any idea what the cycles are or if they are even working as designed. Many cycles start out trying to wash with little or no visible water in the drum (top loader). The clothes come out tied in knots. I now wait for the agitation to start then pause and add water for three to five minutes then restart. What a nuisance. I have called customer care many times and they are courteous but not very helpful. This machine is an engineering nightmare. If I were in charge I would retire the people who dreamt up this contraption and get back to something reasonable before all their credibility is lost FOREVER!!

We bought commercial Maytag washer & dryer Oct 20th 2020. Very expensive ones. Oct 13 2021 they stopped working so had it checked. The shifter on washer went out & dryer blower is not working really!!!! Not even a year! Been without washer & dryer for 1 month because they didn’t have availability & now have to order parts another 2 weeks!! Never buying this product again!! Don’t buy Maytag!

I paid a lot of money for this washer. It was recommended by a service guy from Sears. It is only 3 years old. I dont think it cleans well at all. Energy efficiency? Not seen on this machine at all. It takes at least an hour for a cycle. It is super loud on the spin cycle. Now it is leaking and has that stagnant odor that front loaders get. Really! Waste of money. Will never buy a Maytag again.

Updated on 02/13/2021: Maytag stove purchased 15 years ago for about $500. Replaced mother board about 5 years ago which wasnt cheap, but otherwise, stove has performed with no problems and still looks and behaves like a new stove.Original review: Our 6-7 year old well cared for Maytag range oven recently stopped working. After a service call for diagnostics, it was determined the electronic module controlling the clock and all oven functions was dead. We were told by the Maytag service tech the module cost was 300$. That cost plus labor for less than an hour, plus the 60$ diagnostic visit came to almost 500$ which is close to cost of a new stove. The technician answered yes to my question, Do you replace a lot of these? He also said the cause may be power fluctuations making me think that surely there is a way to prevent this kind of failure. So, since the price seemed exorbitant, I wrote Maytag to inquire about causation/prevention, etc. I received a fairly prompt and polite reply with totally no explanation. I wrote another email with relatively the same results. I dont recommend buying an electronically controlled Maytag stove.

We had a house built in 2007 and bought all new Maytag appliances - washer, dryer, oven/range, dishwasher, refrigerator and microwave. Consequently, we spent many thousands of $ and Maytag made much money from our purchases. In the 7.5 years since we have been using these appliances, the dishwasher already had to be replaced, as fixing it would have cost just as much as buying a new one. But its the range that I am so angry about. I have replaced the igniter 3 times since 2007, and last night, it went out again. I have spent $494 so far to keep replacing the igniter and once I make the service call to replace it AGAIN, it means I will have spent approx. $700 to keep fixing an appliance that is only 7.5 years old. Maytag says the warranty on the appliance is only for 1 year and will not budge on giving me a break on cost of parts and/or service. I will NEVER AGAIN purchase anything Maytag or recommend Maytag to anyone.

Very poor quality. Vegetables freeze at the back of the fridge I have tried everything. The vegetable drawer constantly comes off its track and the freezer door slide jams and stops the door from closing. It leaves about 1/2 inch gap. Now the Whirlpool/Maytag company changed their corporate policy and wont allow an appliance store that to come out and fix the fridge I have to go back to the manufacturer. Their website wouldnt take my email address when I tried to sign up for an account and they wont answer the phone. What a hassle. Ill buy another brand next time but never GE or Whirlpool again!

We purchased our range in May of 2012. It is now November 2014 and the stove has had three brains, three ignitors in the oven and one ignitor in the back of the stove. When I set it to bake at 350 degrees, the oven heats up and I put the food in the oven. When I go to check the food, I find the oven stone cold and the brain is still displaying 350 degrees. According to Home Depot Warranty department, if the oven has been fixed three times for the same problem, then the unit is considered a LEMON. Ok, what about the three brains? What about the three ignitors? The ignitor in the back of the stove controls the oven as well. SEVEN times for a technician to come out and fix my LEMON stove is ridiculous. California has lemon laws. I will file suit against Home Depot, Whirlpool, A&E and Quality Appliance if this stove is not replaced within the next seven days. IT IS A LEMON! I have lost way too much food in this oven because I dont know when it shuts off.

Good deal, recommended by dealer friend. Front loaders, high efficiency, 12 years or so. Finally needs new bearings on the washer. Replaced electronic board 5 years ago. High repair costs would be the worst which is related to low-quality construction. I expect my next pair to last as long as the last 1. Full size, not stackable but oversized drums. Relatively low water usage, lots of different settings for different loads for washing and drying, automatic water level and wrinkle guard.

I will NEVER get another Maytag product ever again! My not even 1 year old washer broke and I have been waiting almost 2 1/2 months for a part to be replaced. My partner and I are nurses working on the front lines during this COVID pandemic and I can’t even wash my scrubs at my own house but instead I have to go to a damn washateria. The “supervisor” told me 2 weeks ago that if the part is not in by today, 1/27/21, that a brand new washer will be sent to me. Well I call today and the people I spoke to denied any recollection of this information. The “supervisor” stated that she is “documenting all of the information” so when I called back I would not have a problem. Once again I have been lied to and wasting my breath and time. The customer service has been TERRIBLE and I cannot believe that this was once a “reliable” brand! Clearly this brand is unreliable and the personnel is also unreliable. NEVER AGAIN WILL I BUY A MAYTAG! Save your money and buy a different brand!

We have only had this Maytag Washer for 3 1/2 years and the bearings went out. There is just my husband and I in the household and we are retired. We only use the washer once or twice a week. The repairman said the whole tub (inner/outer) would also have to be replaced. We paid $1,126.03 for the machine and it will cost $700 to repair it. Needless to say we will not repair it but will buy another washer. We have always been satisfied with Maytag appliances until now. We probably will not buy another Maytag appliance due to this event.

Problem with the front panel are the dishwasher has been replaced 2 times in 3 months. Was told by the tech repair person is not a well made product. He would replace it if he could had a warranty and added a new warranty for 1 year and is up again and of course have to do it. Was told if it happens again they most likely replace with a new unit. Hopefully. Not happy.

Bought a Maytag washer from Lowes 3 years ago and it is just junk. I am 62 years old and never had a washer that actually broke down. What happened to good American technologies. I guess those days are gone, anyway dont buy a Maytag, duh. It is the day after x-mas and I have to buy another machine.

I bought Maytag frost-free refrigerator last August 2006. But now, I noticed that ice builds up in the freezer. The product is only five years old but I was told by Whirlpool that they had discontinued making defrost heater. The reason why I bought Maytag was the ad on TV showing the Maytag service technician seating and doing nothing, implying that Maytag brand is a good product. Think again before buying Maytag products.

My Maytag AquaLift Range MGR8880AS0 was given to me in September 2014. While the range top was excellent and gave me no problem, the so-called self-cleaning is a total joke. I do not do a lot of grease baking or broiling so I have not needed to clean the oven only twice. The first time was a total surprising astonishment. When I opened the oven immediately after the cycle was completed, the oven was not even 350 degrees, most of the water was still in the oven! This happened shortly after a family crisis (my husband became ill and died), so I did not do any inquiries regarding the cleaning failure. Today, January 24, 2018 I decided I would do my second cleaning. Wow, it was a total and complete failure. The oven was barely warm.I always had a Maytag washer, way back in the 1970/1980. My four children grew up with the Maytag, So, I think when one of my children decided to gift me with a new range after a change in location, the Maytag name was at the top of the list. Unfortunately, in 2014 Maytag was no longer what it had been way back in the olden days. The name Maytag does not stand for what it used to stand. End of my story. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to get this off my chest. Since this was a gift, I do not have a receipt. However, I have an insurance renewal due advice (coverage expires 05/24/2018).

We purchased a washer and dryer, spent in the neighborhood of 1000.00 hard earned $$... extended warranty, the whole enchilada. Maytag. dependable, lonely repair man, ha.. that is just so much stuff. Well anyway it was a Centennial set. What junk. Never really worked that well to begin with. I trashed them both after exhausting all avenues to make it right. Well I got the hair to report the mess to consumer affairs and see if they are what they claim to be. This is more of a warning to all consumers.The stuff you consume today isnt worth the money you pay for it. The money isnt worth the time you spent to earn it. I am gonna try to find a old washer and rebuild it, and a dryer as well. Or just use solar. Best to keep the old stuff repaired and running. I dont know how many people I have spoken to about this problem. Our infrastructure is crumbling. A consumer based economy. Only there is not anyone to service the products we consume... pitiful. I guess my wife will be out back with a tub and washboard before it is all said and done... she will not like it, I guarantee that. I could not even begin to repair the washer. It was a computer operated board that did not work correctly from the beginning. The dude came out from the repair shop and fixed it while still under warranty. It died a slow painful death shortly after that. I disassembled it with a screwdriver and now have potatoes growing in the tub.The dryer has not met the same fate yet. It just sits there, anticipating the moment when I remove it and dissect it with a Sawzall. And I guarantee that day is coming. Do not buy anything from Maytag or its subsidiaries, think long term. We have become a bic lighter economy. I have been on the forefront of that movement. I did not realize it at the time. I do now. and for that I am sorry. I always expect something to work when I need it and if it doesnt, I try to repair it. Cannot fix this stuff now. We bought a Maytag Dishwasher - Model #MDB4949SHW a year and a half ago at a Home Depot Location. We had previously had a Whirlpool dishwasher for 13 years of heavy use, with no issues or difficulties. At the time we purchased our dishwasher, there were various different brands on sale, including the one we purchased. The sales rep at Home Depot advised us that although we could get a similar dishwasher for the same price, that this particular model had a 10 year warranty. When I heard that, all I heard was 10 worry free years. MY MISTAKE. I could never have imagined that a company such as Whirlpool would advertise a warranty, that in the end is made up of nothing but false advertising.We ran a cycle during the Christmas holidays, and detected a funny smell of burnt rubber but didnt know what to make of it. I googled the issue and some people had had experiences with perhaps a plastic utensil or some other plastic, being burned by the heating element, so I figured that its what might have happened. I ran another cycle the next day, and the smell was much less prominent so I thought the problem had gone away. The next time we ran a cycle, the water didnt drain. We called in a repair person, and was shocked to learn that both the drain pump and main control board needed replacing.We got in touch with Whirlpool and low and behold, the only items they cover are nonsense items such as the racks, drum, tub...etc....in other words, the parts that are actually responsible for the running of the machine, are not covered, neither is LABOUR. Therefore, in my opinion, their warranty is trash and should not be relied upon under any circumstances. We purchased a new dishwasher just a year and a half ago, and are left with a heap of junk in our kitchen. Our options? Either spend $600.00 to $700.00 on repairs, possibly more, or buy a new dishwasher. When I asked if there was anything they could do to at least mitigate my damages, I was told....Sorry for your inconvenience...but do you have any other questions. I dont have any other questions...but I do have have a comment.... Make your products better....and dont print warranties that are utterly rubbish, false, and only serve to mislead the consumer. Needless to say, we will not be buying any more appliances from this company. Their one and only goal is profit for their shareholders with no regard whatsoever for the consumer. If I could give it ZERO stars, I most certainly would. :)

The refrigerator is barely over two years old and the bottom pan fills with water, freezes and leaks out onto floor. Is a very common problem with these refrigerators and Maytag is happy to pay for the new part to fix it, but will not pay for any person to fix it. They have known this is a problem for a while, but will do nothing to fix it. They clearly do not stand behind their product with a known ongoing problem. The Maytag repairman is no longer not busy. Will never buy a Maytag appliance again! Will take the new part and fix it ourselves.

I have done absolutely nothing to this dryer except keep the lint screen clean. Have had it for 15 years. Keeps on tickin. It is used daily. Sometimes 3-4 times a day. The outside looks rough. But who cares. I bought a new lg washer with great looks and had it just a year and 2 weeks. Had to spend another $200 on it. Still doesnt work right. Im Maytag all the way!!! It is a simple dryer. But it is a workhorse. It was a gift from my mother and have so much appreciated it. It has been an amazing piece of equipment. From now on I will only look for the maytag brand for whatever appliance I purchase.

Bought a washer and dryer from Lowes in June of 2016. Have had service on the dryer 3X and washer 1X since. Two person household that uses product a couple times a week. Dryer drum stops rotating / temp control fails / buzzer doesnt work / motor freezes up / washer makes loud banging sound at the end of the cycle every time....sounds like someone is hitting it with a hammer....Today I want a local serviceman to replace the motor but Maytag insists that I have one of their reps come out next Tuesday to examine the product and then go from there. I have been on the phone for 45 minutes trying to get them to pay me $128 for the failed motor that I will send them for inspection. They will not cooperate. They are hiding behind some BS policy. I want to inform you all in case you are contemplating a Maytag purchase. I will not purchase nor will I recommend Maytag to anyone.

Having issues with my mothers refrigerator, simple enough huh? She had misplaced my owners manual. NOW you buy the fridge, but like everything else, once they get your money youre basically on your own! I call to have a owners manual sent to her, she doesnt interact with the internet. I mean, there are still your older ones that doesnt even get on a computer. BUT I was told I couldnt get one! But when I bought it, I had one. Instead, I think its ridiculous how once, like any other major company, they get your money, and threw to the wind after that, something as simply as getting an owners manual for my fridge!!!! Last time I do business with MAYTAG!!!

I have a Maytag refrigerator that is 7 years old. It works fine except it needs a new freezer door gasket. In trying to get the part so it can be repaired I discovered that they had chosen to discontinue production of this part. I can no longer get it anywhere. They were the most unhelpful customer service I have ever worked with. They refused to try to find a part for another model that may work. They refused to offer a discount on a replacement product. They even refused to give me a phone number to talk to management. I had always been a loyal customer to their brand prior to this but I will never again purchase a Whirlpool or Maytag product. I dont expect not to have an issue but I do expect the ability to be supported in obtaining a commonly replaced part for a major appliance that is less than 10 years old.

The last Maytag washer was great, the dryer not so much, but I was able to repair it. This Bravos is sorry. 4 years old and the tube goes bad is not what you would expect from Maytag. Consequences, no more Maytag or GE for that matter, that dont leave many brands to choose from.

Purchased Bravos 300 quiet series wash and dryer 3 1/2 yrs ago new. 18 months ago the washer gives me f51 and ul codes. To repair this USA made washer will cost over 250 dollars. I see why the Maytag repairman is not busy. Cause after 2 years you gotta buy a new one. All these digital controls are made in China - junk. Ill buy LG or Samsung next.

After 30 months of light use.... two adults in the house, the top of the machine at the ports that allow adding fabric softener and bleach have rusted in a severe way. The machine is rusting away and Maytag customer service will say nothing except, it is out of warranty. I am very sad that I purchased a $719 washer that is falling apart with scant use.... Maytag no longer stands behind the product and I will never buy another one of their appliances again!
