All I ever heard was Maytag is the best so I purchased the washer/dryer over a year ago and have had nothing but trouble from the get go. It takes an hour and a half to two hours for a wash (if youre lucky). Normally, I almost always have to stop and restart it and move clothes around, babysit it. I cant wash but four or five garments at a time. Its a piece of junk and I tell everyone I talk to, never buy Maytag, ever.

Purchased dishwasher Mod # MDB7749SBM1 thinking it was Maytag (lonely repairman) in June 2013 from Home Depot. Cost new over $1,000. As of March 2016, three service calls, two of which required replacement of the control panel. Now the control panel has failed a third time and we are told by Whirlpool (parent company of Maytag dishwashers) they will not cover the repair. They have offered a discount for a new dishwasher. Since that did not seem like a very good option to me, they offered to let me pay for current service plus a year for over $350.00. I was sad to discover that they are the manufacturer of most dishwashers available at your local home store dealer (Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Roper, Amana). VERY DISSATISFIED CUSTOMER!!!

I will never buy another energy efficient washer again. My Bravos is supposed to save money and be environment friendly, but when you have to wash clothes more than once to get them clean, theres no savings. Ive tried different detergents, cleaned the washer, rinsed twice, added vinegar, baking soda and everything imaginable to get the clothes smelling fresh without any luck. I have had several items ruined because the bleach dispenser pours onto dry laundry. Im disgusted.

Does a good job of cleaning but takes much longer to complete. Pretty much standard features. Has rinse only cycle, air dry only cycle, and cycle for pots and pans. Top rack had special holders for long stemmed glasses which I dont need. Standard size. Same size as my Kitchen Aid. White, front load, no special appearance. It takes much longer than my old dishwasher. Also the soap dispenser broke after 2 months and had to be replaced. It requires that two buttons have to be pushed to start. My old one only required one. It does a good job of cleaning.

I have a Maytag Bravos XL and have white residue on all the clothes that get washed in this machine since I purchased it. I have always used HE Detergent and have followed all Maytags recommendations to reduce the white residue to no avail. I had to wash my clothes 5 times to get the residue off of my clothing and 4 of those were without any detergent and on all temperatures and wash cycles. Model # MVWB835DW.

25 months ago, I bought a brand new Maytag stainless steel microwave. We had upgraded all of our appliances except the microwave when we moved in our home. Our first purchase was the Maytag refrigerator. Should have learned my lesson from that because after less than a year, the freezer on the bottom went out twice! We bought this new microwave to replace an old one that didnt match the other appliances and was worn out. Two months ago, the code SE started appearing and then would go away after a few minutes. Now it doesnt go away and you cant use the microwave. I finally called a repair person since its out of warranty and was told that it would cost over $300 to fix it. Really! Im so angry because now I have to take money. I dont have to replace a microwave that should have another few years of use. Nothing at all reliable about a Maytag. I doubt Ill buy anything else they make.

Purchased the Maytag Bravo Nov 2010 and had to replace it after just 5 years. In the five years we owned it, it required a new water pump and the stabilizers had to be repaired. Its motor burned up and I was not able to find a replacement. I was quoted $224 (parts only) for a replacement motor and 10 weeks delivery. My wife never liked the machine as it was not able to clean clothes that well. We did not find much difference in any of the settings. We tended to put very few clothes in each load in order to get them clean. We were dissatisfied that it did not have a soak cycle and the lid lock was particularly annoying.

I purchased the Maytag Bravos washer and dryer in September 2010, before moving to Washington. After a few months, the washer broke and had to have a repairman out twice to fix. It never would wash a blanket without stopping with error messages. He told these were notorious for problems. Now our dryer is leaking and not drying. I checked the vent hose and water and some wet lent are inside. In moving the dryer, I can hear a piece rattling around inside. From research and other posts, it sounds like its a broken pulley system inside. Maytag is junk. Customer service is terrible! I bought this unit during a veterans day sale at Lowes, using my veteran discount. Obviously, Maytag has no problem ripping off veterans or anyone else based on their horrible customer service. I will be actively posting as many negative online posts and videos about my experience on every forum and veteran site I can. They are horrible! Stay away from Maytag!

I can see by the comments on this page that the letter I sent to Whirlpool was in vain. I purchased a Maytag double oven gas range (MGT8775XW00) from our local Lowes. We were remodeling a home we had purchased. Unfortunately (as anyone whos been involved in home remodeling/renovation knows well), it took much longer than I thought it would before range could be installed. It was several months later before it was installed. First time I tried to use the top oven, it would heat to set temp (I assume) and then shut down. The larger bottom oven had erratic heating. I tried adjusting oven temps but it was a guessing game. We had Fix-Rite Corp out twice and they were puzzled by the problem. Two times, they replaced the control panel. After the second repair, it was decided the only thing to fix the kitchen was a complete gutting, new cabinets and floor. The oven was pulled out before I had a chance to use it again. By the time we got the kitchen finished and range reinstalled, I discovered the oven still had the same problems and the broiler would ignite sometimes and when it did, the flame would go out after 30 to 60 seconds and would not come back on. By this time, we were past the one-year warranty. After the first repair did not work, I tried to get Lowes to take it back and assured them I would purchase another range from them. They said they could not do that. Now I can see Im going to end up buying another range. Be assured it wont be Maytag and it wont be Lowes. I also own and use Maytag washer and dryer.

In 2011 we purchased a complete appliance grouping at Home Depot by Maytag to include the dishwasher. For some reason we neglected to purchase an extended warranty on the dishwasher. Lo and behold in 2013 our control panel went bad and the cost to repair it was almost as much as purchasing a new dishwasher. Thinking this was a fluke we were dumb enough to purchase another Maytag from Home Depot due to the loyalty made in the USA. Well here we are 2015 not even a full two years later the control panel started acting funny a few days ago and yesterday just plain old QUIT. Fortunately we were wise enough to purchase an extended warranty plan on this dishwasher so tomorrow we will be calling the repairman. Unfortunately Maytag has never solved the problem that has been occurring for at least 5 years and continues to sell this product to unsuspecting schmucks like us who try to be true to the made in the USA slogan. Shame on Maytag!!! Our model number is MDB7749SBM. Buyers beware.

Besides the fact that it barely agitates or turns over the clothes even on deep fill (which we need every time otherwise a whole HE cycle goes and the top clothes remain DRY), the oh-so-fancy power button stopped working at less than 2 yo! This is the WORST washing machine I have ever had. You cannot control how much water goes into the machine and the clothes being washed are not even covered by water. They stick out above the water at least a few inches!!! How can anything get clean if no water is touching it! I even add water into the machine at the beginning with jugs of water just to cover the clothes... the machine automatically gets rid of that extra water and when the wash cycle comes on again the clothes are not submerged! I paid A LOT of money for this awful machine and Maytag needs to do something about it! And, yes there is a sticky gummy substance on all the dark clothes! I even put clothes in the washer with a dirt spot on it purposely and the spot is always there when the wash is done. Nothing gets clean! DO NOT BUY this machine... you will be very sorry!!!

My fiance bought this dishwasher 5 years ago but has never been able to use it due to the fact he is disabled and unable to open the door. When I moved in 4 months ago, I began using it regularly 2-3 times a week. Yesterday, I loaded it and when I hit the start button, it did nothing. The lights come on but the start button doesnt seem to be working. I have torn it apart twice and after looking all over the internet have determined that the control panel is bad. We live on a very fixed income and fixing something like this will take a large part of our budget. I am shocked that something so expensive can only last a few months then stop with no warning. We will be calling and adding our names to the list for the class action lawsuit here in California.

I have bought 2 high end top loader models (Maytag centennial commercial), brand new both from Home Depot. The problem is Maytag is making them cheaper! Suspension is coal springs that suspends the load so if you fill it up, it lowers the drum to the floor, instead of a bottom bracket that supports the weight from lowering the drum to the floor! Second is the pulley system with the belt drive that wears through the plastic casing. You know some people dont have $900 or $1,000 for a machines that says commercial or heavy duty that only last 4 years when you have a family of six! Very very sad, will never buy another Maytag.

In a way, l feel fortunate and you will read why in a minute. l have been reading Maytag complaints specifically looking to see if what happened to me has happened to others. Apparently, it has. We purchased our Maytag range, model MER57750AB, in 2005. We too have had some repairs done under warranty. Unfortunately, we live in a day and age where technology isnt always our friend. The old appliances that were not electronically driven lasted forever; todays appliances do not. However, when something with potentially serious consequences happens that is not technology related, it rates in the who is the idiot who designed that? category. I am talking about the exploding exterior glass oven doors. Two weeks ago, the oven door handle on our range came unscrewed on one side. I continued using the appliance, planning on repairing it myself when l found the time. (I used to tinker around the garage with my dad when I was little and therefore, I have great repair skills in several areas.) Last week, I was standing in front of the stove when all of a sudden, the glass panel dropped from the door! It landed straight up on the floor and fell forward so the top edge of the glass landed on my toes (the toes that I had surgery on for six hammertoes last November and are still sore!). Needless to say, l was shocked that this happened, and even more so, I was grateful that it did not break or either of my two grandbabies were around at the time. Then, I looked at the glass and saw that it was attached to the door using only eight small pieces of double sided sticky mounting foam. I mean small! As I said before, idiot! Did they not think that the heat from the oven would eventually wear out the ability of the tape to do its job? I gave up reading after I found enough complaints about the mishaps with the glass on the oven doors to realize that there is a definite problem here. I did not see where the glass fell intact, as mine did. Therefore, I am suggesting that the exploding glass panels more than likely gave way, as mine did, and shattered when they hit the floor. Should there be a product recall for this? Absolutely! The question is how does a recall get put in motion? As others have stated, this could have been a horrible disaster had little ones been around. I pray that doesnt happen to anyone.

Maytag model mfd2561hes French door stainless steel purchased in June 2005 has been the worst appliance purchase ever. After 1 year warranty expired, icemaker and water dispenser stopped working. Was told by repairman to thaw the tube for water dispensing with a hair dryer. Are you kidding me? Purchased MAYTAG DISHWASHER MDB7809awm in 2011 for $719. In 06/2013 the far right 3 buttons stopped working. The repairman said that he sees this a lot with Maytag control panel issues. On 08/02/14 the same exact issue occurred. I contacted Maytag online on 08/02/14 and didnt hear back until 8/13/14 to say that there was no known issue and all they could do was recommend a repairman. I also called before I heard back via email and they said the same exact thing, there is no known issue and we can do is recommend a repairman. I am not interested in repairing. Been there, done that. Not doing it again. I researched the issue of the 3 far right buttons not working and there are several forums and discussion topics out there. I find it hard to believe that MAYTAG is not aware of this issue. If you GOOGLE the model you will see the same issue. We renovated our kitchen in 2008 and installed all Maytag appliances. We had purchased a Maytag dishwasher 3 years prior to the renovation-- that we kept. Well, the dishwasher was the first Maytag appliance to go. After replacing several cheap plastic parts on the dish racks (I resorted to use twist ties at one point to hold the racks together) the racks started to chip and rust, leaving stains on our dishes. The cost to replace the racks was about $150 so we just replaced the dishwasher (with a Bosch - so far, no problems!)Then, a couple of the igniters on our gas cooktop stopped working. Since they were the back burners that we didnt use much, we just used a match to light them and let it go. Next, one of the hinges on the double wall oven door snapped. This is a little concerning because the doors are heavy and will need to be replaced. And the final straw concerns our French door refrigerator. The control panel started flashing wildly and the ice door was opening and closing with a loud clicking sound. Of course this happened on a weekend so I looked online and found hundreds, if not thousands, of similar complaints. So I called Maytag and spent nearly an hour on the phone only to be told that my model number was not one of the recalled ones. I explained that my problem was exactly like the others and was told that the best they could do was offer me 50% off any parts. The service call and shipping would not be covered either. The Maytag representative that I spoke to tried to cheer me up by telling me that at least they had the part I would need in stock, unlike the recalled models. Those parts are discontinued and have to be specially manufactured and have a two month waiting period. The part is about $250 and add to that the shipping and service call and I am sure this is going to cost me several hundred dollars even with the discount on the part. Very, very disappointed. Never again will I buy Maytag, never again!

My Maytag AquaLift Range MGR8880AS0 was given to me in September 2014. While the range top was excellent and gave me no problem, the so-called self-cleaning is a total joke. I do not do a lot of grease baking or broiling so I have not needed to clean the oven only twice. The first time was a total surprising astonishment. When I opened the oven immediately after the cycle was completed, the oven was not even 350 degrees, most of the water was still in the oven! This happened shortly after a family crisis (my husband became ill and died), so I did not do any inquiries regarding the cleaning failure. Today, January 24, 2018 I decided I would do my second cleaning. Wow, it was a total and complete failure. The oven was barely warm.I always had a Maytag washer, way back in the 1970/1980. My four children grew up with the Maytag, So, I think when one of my children decided to gift me with a new range after a change in location, the Maytag name was at the top of the list. Unfortunately, in 2014 Maytag was no longer what it had been way back in the olden days. The name Maytag does not stand for what it used to stand. End of my story. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to get this off my chest. Since this was a gift, I do not have a receipt. However, I have an insurance renewal due advice (coverage expires 05/24/2018).

Purchased new Maytag Refrigerator from Mannys in Western MA. Top freezer, over $900.00. Never has worked correctly. We need to turn the freezer way up to freeze the ice cream and it forms frost all around the freezer with mini icicles hanging! But even worse... no matter what setting you put the refrigerator on it ruins your food by freezing everything. The only safe spot is in the deli drawer. I have thrown away hundreds of dollars worth of food that is destroyed because it froze in the refrigerator.A service man from Mannys came and ordered parts. He came back and said they were the wrong parts. Now he says that the refrigerator has a problem and Maytag is trying to come out with a plan on how to fix it. I talked with Maytag (took 44 minutes to get someone on the phone). The manager in service was rude, said they dont replace food and they would work on fixing it. 2 weeks later... no calls from either place. I called Mannys and they said they should have some news by next week. In the meantime I dont have a refrigerator that works! NEVER BUY A MAYTAG REFRIGERATOR!!! I reviewed lots of reviews, and decided that the negative reviews ones were sour grapes or uninformed customers! WRONG! Do not buy this washer. I replaced a 16 year old Frontloader Bosch! Should have had the Bosch repaired, but wanted a topload for a change, new look etc. From day 2 the washer began to squeal during the early cycle and at the end as well. Maytag repair was out for an unrelated repair on another appliance. I told the tech about it and he suggested its brand new etc, give it time to settle in.Now 4 months in and another service call to tell me its nothing!! It squeals so loud I can not run it while in the next room. I have videoed it and sent it to the Maytag repair in Glenwood Springs, and he said I should load it only full enough to see the impeller at all times!!!! Forget a full load of work clothes or a pillow or blanket. Which is to be expected to be able to wash. He said I needed to spread the clothes out manually along the outer sides of the TUB only, prior to washing the clothes! not over the impeller. I am not kidding! This is a open tub, so the impeller is the little thing in the middle on the bottom. I advised him, I videoed the event and even with three socks in it for a test it still squeals like a (well you get the idea). Trying to get Maytag help, but nowhere. Have 2 fridges (one regular and the other is a side-by-side, both were bought in 2006 at Future Shop. The small one is not freezing and the side-by-side ($2,200) is busted too (compressor wont start....). How can Maytag say that their product are reliable on TV??? A Fridges compressor should last at least 15 years !! Maytag, you should at least have the decency to pay for the compressor!

Bought a Maytag MVWX655DW top loader clothes washer from Best Buy on 7-7-2020 it was delivered as promised on Friday 7-10-2020. The people who delivered it were very professional and nice. They did a great job installing it. My wife went to use it for the first time Saturday morning 7-11-2020. Luckily this washer had a see through door. We could not believe our eyes, it never put enough water in the tub to cover the clothes. So as we watched the clothes on top never participated in the wash, they just moved around. When it went to spin cycle it was making a loud clicking sound as it was shaking. So we tried different settings, after 3 loads I called BB and said I want to return it. This machine has been mislabeled, its not a clothes washer, its a noise maker at best. DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE. IT DOESNT WASH CLOTHES.

Its about Maytag MDE7600AYW Atlantis electric dryer issues, Nov 2005 model. There is an obvious design flaw. I have replaced the automatic dryer control board twice since 2005. The unit simply never shuts off, or cooks your clothes for 2 hours. Who will recall this unit and fix the circuit? They will not admit their error.

My four year old Maytag stove blew out the lower heating element in the oven. The model number is MER8880AW. I removed seven small screws to confirm what the problem was and remove the element. That is a short life span for a stove element. My wife checked our paperwork and thought it indicate the part was covered on the 10 year warranty. Called Maytag at 9 AM and went through the press numbers thing, being put on hold, call dropped, told they were not open twice, etc. Finally got a person to talk to at 2:45 pm. Yes the part is covered under warranty, but no they will not give me the part.A repairman must plug it in and put the seven screws back in. This will cost me a lot more than the $50 the part cost me at the local appliance store. 10 year warranty. Wow, WORTHLESS! There WILL NEVER BE another Maytag or Whirlpool in my house. Making a big deal out of their warranty when they are going to soak you bad for a simple install is just plain dishonest.

We bought this from our local big box retailer paying $433.87 after installation, the oven, haul away and home delivery. Two years and 3 months later its a boat anchor. Display is cold and dark after stating we needed to open and close the door before it would heat. We did but it kept displaying the same message. Unplugged it, turned circuit off per Maytag customer service line, still nothing. It is no longer made and you cant get parts. It is useless. The 10 year warranty just covers the magnet and the cavity.

I am extremely disappointed with Maytag and the representatives I spoke with this evening. One laughed after I told her I was 7 months pregnant and without a fridge for a week after owning it less than a year. I was repeatedly and curtly told, We dont cover that, when I asked only to replace the recent food I had purchased. After having to request a manager several times, I was put on the phone with Dana ID ** who said she would not be able to help with any food despite the delay of a week for repairs to our fridge. However, she could extend our warranty for 6 months. The only reason we were able to get someone out as early as we did was because we knew a licensed Maytag service repair company. Otherwise, we would still be waiting for someone to come out to tell us it would be another week before repairs. The originally assigned service repair company by Maytag did not return our call. There was no concern or empathy from the Maytag representatives that I was pregnant and could have eaten food that was not cooled to prevent bacteria growth that would harm me and my baby.Even their service repair technician recommended to contact them about the spoiled food since it was impossible for the repairs to be completed before the end of the week. We will never purchase Maytag again. The appliance failed with no warning in less than a year, and the representatives made no effort to resolve our issue of being without food for a week.

I went to Maytag Canada website and chose Live Agent. There is no Live Agent! You get a Virtual Assistant that does not work; bad software. Virtual Agent shows connected. I type in the details of my issue and the Virtual Agent responds with No Input Detected. I type in the details again and the Virtual Assistant responds with Connection Closed, try refreshing. Over and over again. Tried calling the Maytag Canada 1-800 number. I have now been in the queue for more than 40 minutes. Just stupid cycling for a recording for common problems dealing with products that are not a washing machine (about a 9 minute cycle). NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. Avoid Maytag, Whirlpool and Kitchen-Aid products. Buy from another manufacturer that has live people working at the company.

This Maytag Centennial with commercial technology washer has ruined a couple of thousand of dollars of clothing, maybe 10 to 12 of my favorite shirts (ripped holes around the top of the pockets), bath towels and sheets and comforters and hand knitted small blankets that can never be replaced. It tore holes in nearly everything that was made out of cotton, I was doing spring cleaning and I normally wash most of my summer clothing, but this time this washing machine destroyed nearly all my summer clothing. This washing machine came with the house I just purchased. (I gave my older Maytag washer and dryer to some needy folks which worked great when I moved here). Disappointed in MAYTAG. Will never buy another Maytag!

I think that I finally figured out a way around the piece of junk Maytag sold me. I bought a Maytag french door, stainless, yada, yada refrigerator in 2006. When it broke down, see later description, the first several times it was ok because of the warranty. This POS has failed 7 times requiring $300+ to fix every time. When contacted about the issue, the people at Maytag seem happy. The business model is working perfectly. There goes another sucker. The refrigerator begins its eventual breakdown with the door alarm light and sound beeping constantly. Beeping that continues for days and weeks. The next progression to failure continues with it not beeping anymore but now the interior lights do not light when the refrigerator is opened. Finally, the refrigerator stops cooling entirely and it is dead. Now, Maytag no longer wants anything to do with it so you need to call a repair man. When the repair man arrives, the entire time he talks about what a piece of junk Maytag is. They, every time, at first think it is the switches and replace them. This NEVER fixes the issue. Next, they have to replace the computer brain. $400 to fix. EVERY TIME. Now, at least every year. If you buy Maytag and have a similar experience, get your wallet out. Sell you junk then dont stand behind it.

We bought top load washer model # MVWC425BW1 at Lowes brand new 9/22/14 for $493.93. On 11/23/2017 it stopped working and would not even come on after lid locked. Found out it needed new parts that would cost us over $300 to fix and we could buy another new washer for $400. We are very disappointed that this washer with only two people only worked three years when we thought we had bought a reliable product that would last. Sent several messages in November but no response till today 12/13/17 after filing. BBB complaint filed and they decline to do anything. So this company just wants to sell products but has no customer service. They only give a year warranty. Of course if the product is not going to last they want you to buy more.

I bought the top of the line Maytag washer. I was told they have improved their washer so that it no longer requires an agitator. I was also told the new machine saves you money by using less water. It has a sensor so that it only puts the water needed to clean your clothes. Instead of filling up with water and having the agitator to stir the clothes around, this new and improved machine puts a small amount of water in the machine and vibrates. The end result? All of the dirt and debris gathers in small pockets and sticks to your clothes. In order to save water the sensor only allows a small amount of water to enter the machine to rinse your clothes. When you consider how many times you have to go back and rinse your clothes before you get the caked on dirt off of your clothes, its costing you more money, more time and more aggravation. Oh yea, the maintenance man was out three times before the machine was a year old. The last visit was to replace that fine Maytag motor that was less than a year old. I have pictures that show my clothes with caked on dirt and debris on them after they have completed their wash cycle. It is HORRIBLE!!!

Ive read a few reviews and would have to agree. This is the worse washer I have ever purchased. I agree clothes go in dirty and come out dirty. I have to hand wash clothes to get them clean and wont even mention how long it takes a white t shirt to start looking like it was placed in mud vs being placed in a washer. Called Maytag and they said I was loading it wrong even though I was loading it as suggested by the manual. Then they suggested it needed service. I think not after reading these reviews. The irony is that I had called for service on a front loader due to prolonged washing cycles, the repairman was as useful as this MayTag washer. Come to find out I replaced a perfectly functioning washer, intake screen on cold water needed to be cleaned, for this piece of useless metal. I guess since reading that Maytag doesnt value its customers by offering some type of consideration I will replace this piece of crap. Please dont buy the Bravo series. You will be sorry and you will never have whites white again.

I had a technician come out and it was the barriens that spun the drum so I had them fix it and it cost me $400. Then about a month later, it was flashing code F51 and not spinning. I had them come back out thinking it would be covered since it just got fixed but no, it cost me another $100. Now, 6 months later and here I am again unable to do laundry because its flashing F51 and wont drain or spin. We called Maytag and they tell us to call Home Depot and the only thing they are willing to do again is fix the door handle which will probably break off again while Im in the middle of laundry and cant retrieve clothes from the dryer because there isnt a handle to open it.Im convinced the dryer has a defective handle, and the dryer should be replaced considering what we paid for it. But Maytag or Home Depot doesnt want to do that. I will never buy Maytag products again and thinking of buying products at small appliance stores who stand behind their products, instead of Home Depot who could easily turn our dryer over to the insurance company as defective for the loss.

Maytag Washer 2016 HE top loader. This washer is horrible to use. I hate everything about it. After your clothes are put into the drum and you close lid to start here is what happens EVEN though I select deep water: it puts small amount of water in and then it agitates the whole big load. This is so stupid! Can you imagine a large load of your clothes agitating with a very small amount of water in the drum?So to get around that problem, you have to push pause button and shut the lid after your soap, softener and then listen until that first amount of water fills and agitates, then you have to push pause and quickly put in your clothes. Then you shut the lid and again push the start button so it will fill with more water. Then if youre lucky in at least an hour your load is finally finished. I hate this washer. My boyfriend bought it and I asked him several times to PLEASE return it. He didnt so now were stuck with it for God knows how long. The one good thing about this is I will know to never buy one of these for my house.

I purchased a Maytag French Door Refrigerator in July 2011 from Lowes online and had it delivered on August 16, 2011. In September 2011, I could not get the ice maker to work. So I called Lowes and they called in a repairman. He came and replaced a part to fix the problem. I dont have any complaint with his work but here it is, October, and the ice maker makes maybe four ice cubes at a time on a good day.I am really disappointed with this product and according to their commercials, I would like to know which of these techs are setting around doing nothing, maybe he could come and fix my fridge once and for all. I would sure find it difficult to recommend any Maytag appliance as a result of this mess. I could call a repairman myself, but I was under the impression thats what a warranty was for. According to Lowes we are required to call them and they will schedule a repairman or the warranty isnt any good. I replaced a GE French Door with this Maytag, I sure am sorry I chose this Maytag.I know an ice maker problem is minor compared to some of the complaints on this appliance, but when you pay good money for a product you have every right to expect everything about it to work. Im just wondering where these appliances are actually made?

I purchased an over the range microwave (OTR), boxing day 2018. It failed January 2021. It worked great before failing. The issue with Maytag/Whirlpool is their service. I told them before they came out that I was only interested in having it fixed if it could be done that day. They checked that they had the parts and said they could do it, so I moved forward with the appointment. Well they didnt fix it, and said that they need to order a part, which they said would take several weeks. They are trying to bill me the service fee $167, and expect me to wait a month or possibly more to get the part and fix the microwave. Now Im faced with having to pay a service fee for something not fixed and buying a new microwave. Lesson: Never try to repair, cheaper to buy a new product. Other lesson, never buy Maytag or Whirlpool product again. Despite what is on their website and advertising, they have terrible customer service.

I will never buy another Maytag product especially after reading all the complaints that people have had about this series. Why hasnt something been done to protect the consumer? I did not purchase the extended warranty as I thought Maytag sold a good product. I owned another set of Maytags that were almost 30 years old when we got rid of them and did minimal repairs over the years. We are only a household of 3. My Maytag refrigerator is less than 5 years old; the compressor went out (only warrantied for 1 year, 5 years used to be the minimum). I contacted the company who now owns Maytag, I believe Whirlpool. They told me they can fix it, no matter what the problem is, for $380.00. It turns out they sold me an extended warranty, but that was never explained in the conversation. Prior to contacting them, I had Sears out to fix it; they are the ones that told me it was the compressor. 1 week after buying the extended warranty, the repair company came out to fix it and found out the refrigerator was unplugged and informed me it needed to be plugged in for 24 hours in order for him to determine what was wrong with it. I scheduled an appointment 1 week later. When they came back, they said it was the compressor, and they needed to order the parts. 1 week later, they came back, and the compressor they came with did not work. 3 weeks now, no refrigerator. They said they would put a rush on the order, haha. Now, I have to wait another 8 days for them to come out to repair. 4 weeks without a refrigerator? I think there is some type of implied warranty when you purchase large appliances; these companies are getting away with murder. Are refrigerators now disposable commodities? Cheaper to buy new ones than repair the new ones? What will happen to our landfills?

I bought the newest most energy efficient Maytag model M9BXXGMYM00 (for about 1K) from a local appliance store and after 9 months it wouldnt freeze. The local store picked up and left a loner for the fridge and made repairs in shop returning it in a week - great - except that approx. 11 months later the fridge again wouldnt freeze. The store sent repairman who charged 125$ to tell me it had leaked its freon again and would need repairs which were no longer covered under 1 year Maytag warranty. I asked the store to back their work but was only given a refill of the freon and half off the service visit. 2 months later the fridge is not freezing. I know because the repairman and store owner Mike told me that it had freon leak and that Mike himself had made repairs to the leak that the unit wasnt repaired.I have read that freon is toxic and can be hazardous to people with heart conditions and a list of bad effects. Maytag will only send someone to repair unit for a service call charge plus the repair charges and will not replace a defective unit. I can take the appliance store to small claims court over faulty warranty repairs but probably not the health risks - which are disputed by the experts. Ive read reviews and have heard from people who have appliance issues that the companies basically use a defective unit as a cash cow sending repairmen back again and again and never fixing the problem making a lot of money off of frustrated people who have bought a lemon from a company who doesnt back their product or their work. I was only looking for a decent refrigerator and paid plenty for one. I now have to get rid of a nuisance or pay to fix it - probably more than once and spend lots of time getting through the court vs. store owner process for any of the 1000 bucks lost on the defective toxic junk I got from Maytag.

We bought the Bravo washer and dryer in 10/2009. Since then the dryer has never worked well. Weve had at least 8 service calls on same and the sensor doesnt work, i.e. says the clothes are dry when they arent and we always have to run them through at least two-timed cycles to make them completely dry. The washer is another nightmare. At least 8 service calls as well, and after one where the motor was replaced, it popped off and flooded my entire house. They laundry room is located on the second floor. I had to replace floors, walls, ceiling, light fixtures, etc. Insurance covered it but it never shouldve happened. Now the washer doesnt drain properly and the error code LD displays every load and we must manually drain it by either setting an extra drain cycle or take the entire machine apart and vacuum out the water. Each load takes twice the amount of time it should, if not more. But I guess its okay because the dryer takes just as long to dry a load of clothes. Something has to be done. Maytag is refusing to stand behind their products and it seems as though many of the complaints are for the same issues. Is there a lemon law for household appliances?

This washer was the biggest disappointment I have ever had. When I looked at it in the store I was excited that the tub was so big and the Maytag Label has always been trustworthy to me and my family. This machine certainly has disillusioned me against Maytag. I can only wash clothes on the bulky sheet cycle because even with deep water wash it only puts about 2 of water to wash clothes. Clothes on top dont even get wet! It doesnt take an engineer to figure out that you cant wash clothes without water. Big mistake! Would never recommend this washer to anyone! I complained directly to Maytag and never received a response. I have had to rewash clothes because they did not get clean. Even with an extra rinse the clothes still have enough soap in them to make my skin irritated. My whites are not white even though I use hot water and follow all of the directions provided with the machine. If there was any way I could afford it, I would throw this machine out to the garbage and get one that actually cleans the clothes. I will never buy another Maytag machine in my life.

MER8700DH - Within 6 months, left rear burner stopped working and Maytag repaired it under warranty. Within next 6 months, and just before end of warranty, right front burner stopped working and again Maytag covered it under warranty. Within the second year of ownership, the oven was not working correctly and Maytag refused to cover it because it was off warranty. So I called a local appliance repair company who gave me an estimate of over $300 to repair it and basically advised against repair stating that this stove was a piece of junk. So I replaced it with a GE and junked the old one before it was even two years old. I filed a complaint with Maytag. At first they said they would go half on the labor, but then they said I should have bought the extended warranty and refused all further help.

Maytag Bravo Quiet Series 300 MVB700VQ - My wife and I feel this is one of the worst machines sold. We purchased it from Costco 2 yrs ago and had several issues over the years. Pump, locking, water level, small clothing items like socks getting in behind the drum and clogging the pump, and yesterday a flooding issue. That is right, my Bravo 300 did not shut off and the water ran continually with an LD code displayed. The water overflowed into the kitchen & pantry. The wood floors are now warped. We were home so we were able to shut off the water as the washer controls (buttons) were locked and not responding. We spent the better part of 3 hours moving items and wet vacuuming the house. We now have a dehumidifier running in hopes we can salvage the wood floors and minimize mold growth.I will note that I have a home warranty (third party) that covers repairs on my appliances, this washer included. The repair man thought it may be the pump, a line, and/or the control panel/module that need replacing. The repairs would be covered by home warranty.... but not the floors. There is NO WAY I am fixing any washer that flooded my home.Yesterday, I took a 3 yr old washer with known issues back to Costco. I was not happy with the manufacturers suggestions that I buy parts as it was Out of warranty. Again, I had a third party warranty so the repairs would have been covered! It is clear that the manufacturer doesnt CARE about the quality or the performance of this machine. I have found a FIX for these issues. We are buying an LG Washer that is more $ and is highly rated by Consumer Reports. Stay AWAY from this model and current repackaged models of Bravo/Cabrio!

Two months after purchasing our Maytag refrigerator, the light/cooling unit went out. After speaking with Maytag’s customer service and scheduling a repair company to come fix it, it took 3 separate trips over a span of 2 or 3 weeks to finally find the correct replacement piece to get it to work again. It is now 10 months since buying and we, once again, are having issues with the lights going out and randomly coming back on, the water/ice machine not dispensing, and we’re just waiting to see if the cooling unit isn’t out as well.I called Maytag as soon as we noticed the issue, and after waiting 15 minutes on hold, they scheduled a repair service to come check it out... in 5 days. Having spent $2300 on a refrigerator for our family, we were hoping for a reliable product. I would NOT RECOMMEND this refrigerator and will never buy anything, or let any friends or family members purchase anything, Maytag manufactures ever again. As if the faulty product itself weren’t bad enough, I have had the absolute worst customer service experience. Who would have thought it could be so difficult to look up a customer account, even after having it registered with Maytag after purchasing.

We have had the same problem as everyone else. We have the freezer on the bottom model. It started when the fridge was less than a year old, with water on the floor and ice buildup on the bottom of the freezer. Since then we have needed to have same repairman come at least 4 times because the top part suddenly gets very warm, food spoils, and water accumulates under the produce drawers. Our repairman has told us that newer models have improved design, but that doesnt help us. This fridge is now about 3 years old, bought it at Home Depot. This is unacceptable.

Dishes and glasses break because of the tine spaces. Horrible dishwasher for high price. I hate it so much it upsets me daily. All I get is a sorry from Maytag. Its not that old, only a year and a half. Why no satisfaction? I will avoid all Maytag products for life.

We purchased a Maytag Bravos set in 2011. The dryer works great, but the washer not so much. Every load of darks comes out with soap scum all over. I use the HE detergent and most time use less than what the load should have. We have soft water and I also use softener. Ive also tried up to 3 extra rinse cycles and a smaller load size and still have soap scum all over. Im sure the light colored loads come out same, just cant see it. Needless to say, very, very upset with this washer. I, too, will never buy another Maytag product, nor will I recommend one. Had our yearly maintenance check the other day and the service man couldnt give me the reason its doing this. So, so disappointed in this product!!

This was my first Maytag, will definitely be my last. I purchased the combo washer and dryer from Home Depot in 2014. So far it has broken down 4 times needing major parts replaced. The first 2 times it broke within 3 months of owning the machine, so I called Maytag and made very irate complaints and was able to get the 1-year factory warranty extended by another 6 months. This month (May) marks the end of their extended warranty and lo and behold, the machine broke again! I called Maytag again, asking to speak with supervisors instead of customer service reps. They refused to put me on the phone with anyone higher up. I got as far as a customer service manager and she wouldnt budge. Her response was: If the machine breaks again, call us back and we will be happy to review your case at that time. I assured her that the machine would definitely break again, because it is a lemon and has broken 4 times already and wanted satisfaction NOW!! She refused to continue speaking with me and told me to call back if and when the machine breaks again. I am deeply disappointed in Maytag as a company. They had a wonderful reputation way back when, but their customer service department is sorely lacking along with selling a sub-standard product that they will not stand by. I plan on taking this matter further. I am a business owner as well as a single mom, and have no time for broken down machines and nonsense.

I purchased a Maytag Neptune 24” front load washer (MAH2400a) and 24” electric dryer (MDE2400AYW) on October 26, 2005 from Sears in Chesterfield, MO. In April 2011, the drum in the washer began to slush and grind. Water also began pooling around the machine. I called Sears and arranged for service repairman. Before he even looked inside the washer, the repairman wanted to give me a coupon for $50.00 off a new washing machine from Sears. After my insistence, he finally opened the washer and told me I needed a new drum. Because of the Sears repairman’s reluctance to look at the machine, I had another appliance repairman review it and was told that the water pumps for this model were defective. Any loose items the size of coins collected inside the pump and damaged it. I paid $340.00 to get the pump replaced. Ten months later, the dryer started smoking. After scheduling a service call, I was told the heating element burnt out and it would cost $360.00 to replace. It was then I noticed that the washer was leaking again. I took the front base cover off and saw mold growing under the machine. A little research uncovered that this set of machines has had many dangerous problems, from mold to catching on fire. There was a class action lawsuit filed and won by consumers in April 2005, yet I was sold this model in October 2005. I feel both Maytag and Sears knowingly sold me a defective and dangerous product. I would like to be refunded for this set.

Repairman said it needed a drum, seal and gasket. Would have cost 700-800 to fix. Needless to say we bought a new washer today, and it wasnt a Maytag!! We bought a new Maytag Bravo XL washer in 2015 under the understanding it has a 10 year warranty. Well it’s 2020 and it starting leaking. Called customer service and lost 3hours of my life waiting for a person. Keep in mind I’m pretty handy and work on spa, and pools. And can troubleshoot things like this. I found the problem on our washer looked up the part and number. When I finally got a person on the phone they wanted to send a technician out to verify what is wrong with it. I was all for that but then they said it would cost $100. I said no because I already know what’s wrong and just need the part so I could fix it. I knew the labor would not be covered under warranty so that’s why I didn’t really need the tech to come. After a few minutes Maytag finally says the unit is. It covered under warranty at all. I asked yes it is because it’s literally written all over the washer it has a 10year warranty. So then Maytag goes to say they only cover the drum and motor for 10 years. So now I’m stuck with a washer that leaks that was sold to us under the pretense of a 10year warranty for parts. And now having to buy $280 worth of parts and shipping to fix it. Maytag advertises that they have the best warranty and they never break as their commercials imply. So they represent themselves And their warranty falsely. Buyer beware. Maytag is shady. I’m guessing Whirlpool is part of them so please do your research before you buy. 1. Customer service doesn’t exist with them. (3hrs hold times.) 2. Misleading warranty coverage. 3. Will not call you back.4. Try to extort more money from you. ($100 to send a tech out to confirm what you already know.)DO NOT BUY!!! Learn from our mistake.

In October of 2011, I purchased a $1,199 Maytag Bravos Washing Machine. It recently started making a really loud noise during the spin cycle (REALLY loud). I had a local appliance repair guy come and he told me the main tub bearings are bad, sealer is defective and that it would not be cost effective to fix it.I called Maytag and they offered to sell me another one for $839. I am very dissatisfied that I only got 4 years out of a $1,199 machine!!! Ridiculous!! I wouldnt mind a minor repair that cost a few hundred to fix... I get that. But for it to be junk in 4 years... I have a hard time with that for the price. My appliance guy said it was junk when I bought it. Year ago, you got 15 to 20 years out of a good washing machine. Now... I buy a high end machine and it lasts 4 years. And why would I spend another $839 for the same piece of junk!!! That would be throwing good money after bad. It is not going to happen. I promised Maytag that I would post as many reviews about their product as possible... so everyone can know that they make a lousy, defective product and charge a very high price for something that will not last. Dont buy it!!

I bought the Maytag Bravo XL MVWB725W washing machine and dryer pair in August of 2015. 2 months after I bought the pair the thermostat went out on the dryer. It was under warranty so it was fixed and no problems after that. In July of 2016 I have my first stainless steel hose break at the fitting because of corrosion flooding my laundry room. I thought it was a fluke so I put another one. The next hose started to corrode in September 2016. We thought there was some weird chemical reaction going on between the hose and the filter on the back of the machine. So we changed to rubber hoses in September. Since then we have gone through 6 sets of rubber hoses. We have had the water company out, they say our water is fine. A plumber out, our new water heater is fine as is our plumbing. An electrician, who changed an outlet and put a grounding wire on our house water line. And an appliance repair man, he found the problem so he called Whirlpool who makes Maytag. There is corrosion on the water temp control. However nobody has EVER seen this problem and doesnt know how to fix it. Not even Whirlpool. And Whirlpool says its my house. Im at a dead end with a washer that is constantly going through hoses. It really doesnt wash clothes very well either unless you put a lot of stain remover on the clothing before and wash it in hot water. And yes it is noisy. Dont buy this product.

So far we have replaced the belt. Clothes have never come out clean. High Efficiency... Yeah, we have to put it on extra rinse to rinse all the soap out or wash twice because the clothes just do not get clean. Now it stops right before it drains after the wash. So I had to pull out clothes and use pitchers to get water out before we could tip forward and pull hoses to drain the rest. We checked hoses and connections. All lights work, it did a wash cycle, and again stopped before the drain. Really. All I got was “Didnt you take out the extended warranty?” Well, No I did not. Why would I consider the fact that MAYTAG would need repairs within the first 3 years. Its not like I do a lot of wash. Or have big bulky items. I have a laundry mat close by for that stuff, because it wouldnt get it clean anyway. Never again…

Bought the Model MZD2766GEW and the MSD2454GRW side by side models of the Maytag side by side and the wide side by side from Home Depot in the year 2002 replacement appliances after a fire. For both units I paid $2526.92 dollars plus tax to put one in my kitchen and one in my basement. I was told by a plumber Maytag was the best, buy Maytag. It seems like from day one things went wrong. The ice maker kept building ice in the bottom of both freezers. The ice maker never worked right and would build up so much ice in the dispensing area, you would open the door and ice would fall all over the floor and you would have to take a knife to the shoot of the ice maker to unclog it. The drawers would freeze, the vegetables and anything in them, you had to keep the refrigerator temp to Zero and things would still freeze. Water eventually would leak all over the floor and I couldnt figure out where it was coming from. The freezers on the left but then water seem to be running to the right and out the refrigerator part. I couldnt afford to call anybody and the warranty was running out. I had 2 year parts and one year labor but at the time couldnt afford the service call charge. Eventually I was sent a recall notice for a compressor or such. I thought, Hurray, It will be fixed. Not at all. He replaced both those parts on both refrigerators and after he left it started leaking again. I called Maytag and they said, did he replace the part that was recalled? I said yes and they said They were not obligated to pay for anything past the recall. I should call and have the units serviced by a technician at my cost. If he says its the recall piece again, to call them back. Again I had no money to call a technician right away but when I did, he came to the house, told me it wasnt the recall and claimed to fix some kind of defrost sensor which cost $180.00 for the parts plus labor, plus service call and this had been a different technician than the first. He left and the problem continued to leak, freeze etc. In fact it seemed worse. I gave up calling and decided to deal with it hoping one day to replace but money problems happen and it is now 2014 I never could afford new refrigerators and have had to put up with the leak for all these years and continue to pick up and replace soaked towels everyday. In 2005 I disabled the ice maker which helped when I opened the door since ice doesnt fall out but both Refrigerators continue to make thick sheets of ice on the bottom and food is frozen into it so I cant use the bottom and when the buildup gets so bad it takes 2 days to defrost by shutting the entire unit off. All I can do is put my food in one freezer and refrigerator while the other defrosts. I also have turned the downstairs one off completely. Now as a second refrigerator I just dont trust keeping it on leaking also. I bought these units after a whole house fire and the last thing I want is another fire because Maytag just doesnt care but I cant afford new Refrigerators because these repairman and Maytag cant figure out whats wrong and fix the problem with this dangerous feature and I call it that because it seems to come with most of their units from when I bought the unit till now.12 years later people are still having the same problem with the same and copy cat units. Maytag, a plea goes out to you to recall and repair these units. The original recall did not work and like me a lot of people need to be redeemed for what you left go on and a lot of repairmen are ripping off people calling this problem what its not and stealing our money when you know what the problem is and can fix it. My plea is recall this problem or be responsible before God or who you believe in for letting it go on so long and the damage it may cost people. Maytag, people use to love you but youve ripped our hearts out and it will cost you in the long run.

There is black mold growing and must be cleaned constantly. I am so sad that my favorite company has let us down. I cannot afford to buy another washer so I am stuck with this lemon!
