I have always hated soft touch control panels so I purchased a Maytag Dishwasher with old style push buttons. IT DID NOT CLEAN THE DISHES, so Lowes took it back and I was convinced to UPGRADE to an MDB7749SBB0 and was told this machine was top of the line, although it was VERY temperamental from the start. I guess I should have done my homework. I see now several complaints about the control panels not working. I was told that MAYTAG was a very reputable company and that they stand behind their product. WRONG!. The company KNOWS these panels have problems and should replace them free of charge as it is obviously a defect. Nope, first they offer to send someone out (In a week) to repair it at $80 just to look at it and the panel is over $100 to replace, and when I complained they tried to sell me extra coverage for $250. REALLY? What is the purpose of purchasing a QUALITY dishwasher? I might as well purchase a cheap dishwasher and replace it when it breaks. I think you should be responsible for your product when you have several complaints on a specific part.

I loved my refrigerator because it was plenty of space, energy efficient and ran like a top even after 20 years when we sold the house. I look forward to buying another one when I buy my new home.

What a disappointment. I guess this is why we no longer see that commercial about the Maytag repairman being bored. Because now, he is out fixing these pieces of shirt. Im trying to fix my washer (Model: MAH8700AWW), what a sweet pain in the **. Dont do it. Throw it away if it starts making noise like an aircraft landing.

Maytag #mbl2258es1 - started leaking in the freezer two years after I bought it. Two service men who did not know how to fix it. Now the refrigerator is not cooling. No more Maytags. Horrible refrigerator.

The bottom oven of my Maytag double oven range (serial #MER6765BAS18) caught fire while I was baking there. The coil burnt out and separated. This did not occur due to food spill or other means. The coil was charred. The stove top does not perform adequately and the coils do not heat uniformly.

Maytag Bravo X-We bought this washing machine not even 4 years (February 2013) ago from Lowes. We had this issue before the warranty went up a couple of times and then it stopped and started working fine. We contacted Maytag before... But of course beings the issue resolved there was no way to send someone out here to troubleshoot the problem. Now it is doing it all the time. A few months ago it went out of warranty. We are having issues with it going into the spin cycle and it will stop there and it will not spin out my clothes and finish draining. Contacted them and they want to charge money for a service tech to come out just to look at it. Lord only knows how much it would cost to fix.

The dishwasher turns on of its own accord. Sometimes when you get too close to it, once in a while in the middle of the night, and most of the time when you latch the door. It does a great job cleaning the dishes, but to no avail because its always in the middle of a cycle when you need them.

I love the fact that there is no agitator in this machine. It give lots of room when washing bulky comforters. I also love the vast amount of settings for load size and the soil settings. The con of this washer is that it has broken down on us twice in the 2 years since we purchased it. The pump has gone out both times. Unfortunately it looks like we will be making a purchase of a new washer in the near future because another mechanical issue has arose.

Our Maytag Bravos is 4 years old. Settings are preset at the factory. Besides the glitches others have written, the hot water sensor INSIDE the machine has gone out. This means - no clothes can be washed on the hot setting, and the warm setting gives only lukewarm water. I have had more than one plumber look at the machine, and the consensus is...the internal sensor needs replacement. However, this machine being only 48 months old, I am debating whether or not just to buy a new machine. This is a HE washer, and I am very disappointed in its performance. This is the worst Maytag machine I have ever owned.

Purchased a new Maytag dishwasher just under 1 year ago. After a 5 months it started not working. We called the dealer - who gave us a number to call because it was under warranty. We called the number and it took days to get someone to look at it and not fix it. It needed a new part. Its been over a week now and we havent heard anything, and still no working dishwasher. Our last two dishwashers lasted over 18 years. Kenmore and Whirlpool, never had any issues. This is our first Maytag. Service has been snail pace slow. Dont buy a Maytag dishwasher unless you want to spend your life washing dishes.

Purchased a Maytag refrigerator on 08/15/13 model #M1TXEGMYQ01. Started having cold problems 06/15/15, called company. 1 yr warranty expired 08/15/14,had to replace a 22-month ref on 07/15/15. Prior I owned a Hotpoint that lasted for 17 yrs and the last one was a GE that lasted for 18 years.

At two different times today I was left on hold for thirty minutes each. I was told the compressor only had a year warranty on it, cant do anything about it. I then went online to Maytag web page and it read only on compressor the warranty had ten years. I called them after a very long wait and was told that was just started with the ten year warranty. I have owned many different refrigerators never heard of compressor only lasting 5 years. The serviceman who came out to tell me compressor was bad said the name Maytag used to stand for something but now stands for junk. Worse customer service, worse product.

Our washer ran great until last week. Had repairman in. User interface died after 18 months use. $250 for the part plus labor. This is a $1000 washer. Buyer beware. Maytag is just another name for any washer in the Whirlpool lineup. Uses the same parts. Has the same issues. Should have bought a Speed Queen.

I bought a Maytag dishwasher (MDB7749SBW1) about 4 years ago. Ive had to replace the wiring on the control panel each year. This is clearly a design defect, and Maytag will not take any responsibility for it. Ive called each year, and am told each time that theyve never received a complaint about this issue. This year Im replacing the dishwasher. Ill never buy a Maytag product again.

I purchased a Maytag refrigerator from Home Depot 2 years ago and the first year I already had problems. The second year there was ice on the bottom freezer I called Maytag. They claim a technician needs to come out but cant tell me how much it is to come out for an estimate. After they come out they tell me how much it was. Everyday I have ice or water from the freezer. I had also purchased my stove which very easily has been all scratched and considering that I hardly ever cook, I figured it would look new for years. I will never buy another Maytag appliance!!!

Not only does the water not drain properly causing an insane amount of stench of moldy water being trapped, but this washer has had nothing but problems since we got it. Error code after error code, problem after problem. So disappointed. My husband wanted an LG and I said it had to be Maytag because Maytag was the best. Thanks for making me a liar Maytag!

I am sorry I purchased this machine. It was meant to replace a 17-year-old Maytag dishwasher that was not repairable. I figured they were good machines. Wrong. Perhaps I have a lemon, I do not know. I bought the machine on the 23rd of November and it was installed on the 29th of November. Here it is December 12th and I am sick to my stomach. I have already had to contact Maytag customer support and have a repairman coming. This machine does not clean worth a damn! My glasses look worse coming out of the machine than when they went in. I have run two loads with the machine so far. The auto-sense cycle is a joke. It took over four hours to complete and things did not come out clean. Last night I tried the normal cycle. It came up with a run time of 2:36. The first rinse was cold water. The detergent cup was open and empty at 20 minutes in. So what does the machine do for the next two hours??? When the cycle was finished I looked at the glasses and they were spotted and streaked with remnants of fingerprints and lips. So I ran it again trying the quick cycle. Not one bit of difference, still nasty looking glasses. If this machine cannot get the upper rack clean, how can I be sure the lower rack is getting sufficient cleaning? One would think that for $600 it could at least do the job it was meant to do.

Machine is very loud. Clothes do not feel completely clean when wash cycle has finished. I have a sense that not all soap has been removed. Dark clothes have streaks of white residue. Must turn clothes inside out before washing. Very disappointed.

I have Maytag Model MGT8885XS03 Gas Range. I bought it in 2014. The surface burner valves, which regulate the gas flow, are a bad design. One valve got stuck and needed replacement within warranty. Then another valve got stuck about a year ago and the third one got stuck about a month ago. I am going to replace these two valves now. My friend, who is helping me replace, has similar gas range. He also needs to replace a valve. His range is about a year old.

I bought the Centennial top load washer and the dryer in May 2016 at Lowes. They are junk. I had a secondhand Craigslist Maytag washer that lasted 7 yrs and it was still running just fine when I got rid of it after purchasing this HE junk. The flimsy plastic door handle on the dryer fell off about 6 months ago. The clerk at Lowes assured me that the washer was high capacity & could handle heavy loads. Now I cant wash heavy loads because the agitator is already loose and getting ready to break. I have to wash smaller loads on the hand wash cycle. I cant wash my comforter or my rugs. The real kicker is I cant reach Maytag! I have tried calling to sit on hold for 30 mins to an hour. I tried the live chat during their regular business hours and it was not open. I am so disappointed in these machines. This is the first time I have ever purchased a new washer and dryer and this is what I get. I might as well have set $850 on fire. DO NOT BUY NEW MAYTAG MACHINES. THEY ARE JUNK.

My husband and I purchased the Bravos XL washer and dryer set about a year ago as our first big washer/dryer purchase for our new home. We spent about $1200 on the set from Home Depot. I very much regret this purchase as the washer never gets our clothing clean! The washer never puts enough water in the basin and the clothing comes out with strange white smudges EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.I have tried changing detergent, I have tried skipping fabric softener, Ive tried rinsing out the dispenser thinking it was residue from old soap. I dont know what it is, but what I DO know is that the clothes go in without the white smudges and come back out with them for every load. I have to run a second rinse cycle just to get it off, which means Im washing for at least an hour and a half. I DESPISE this machine and its costing me more on my water bill.Additionally, the dryer isnt much better. It constantly shuts itself off even when its not on energy saver mode, with the little red light going on for air flow. Ive checked the connection and dont see what the issue is. If I have a big load such as blankets in there, I have to dry them all individually for almost an hour just to dry my bedding! It simply wont stay on to dry a full load. I very much regret my purchase and wish Id gone with something simpler and cheaper as it would have done a much better job with my laundry. Lesson learned. Dont waste your money on Maytag.

I purchased two Maytag appliances; PC-touch control 500 Electric Smoothtop and a dishwasher. In less than two years, I have spent over $1,000.00 repairing these two appliances. With my stove, I have replaced the PC control board and the oven light kit. Less than a year and a half, I now need to replace the PC control board again. I have been a Maytag customer since 1976. The dishwasher had a recall for the heat element and I replaced the control panel control board and door lock switch and the main control board. I will never buy Maytag again.

I bought a Maytag Bravos top loader in Oct 2011. About a yr after having it, it started having problems. At the end of the cycle, theres still water in the tub and clothes are soaked. A couple of months after that, it started completely skipping the wash cycle, so the clothes would just sit in dirty water and do nothing. I called the small appliance co. I bought it from and by the time I get done paying a house call and parts, I might as well buy another one. I called Maytag because it seems theyre all having the same problem and at some point youd think they would be responsible for their product. They couldnt care less and the options they offered me were a joke!! Please, whatever you do, DO NOT BUY A MAYTAG because you will be on your own if anything goes wrong (unless you want to pay them the price of a new washer!!).

I bought a Maytag washing machine, model number MHW6630HW2 in January 2021. It works fine on ordinary loads, but it cannot spin the water out of bulky items, not on any setting. I put my machine-washable winter coat in the washer and it left it full of water. I re-tried on 4 different settings, and though the washer spins, it cant spin out the water. I went to the Maytag support site. The sites said my model doesnt exist. The phone number for support does not allow you to get any support other than a service call. The Chat option doesnt give a lot of support either. They said that if I call for a service appointment and the service technician finds that the machine does do a spin cycle, then the appointment is not covered under warranty.

The mid level dishwasher is excellent, easy to install. Very quiet. The dishwasher cleans well and does a great job. I wish the default would go to the last setting instead of auto. Highly recommend.

I bought this stove thinking of the Maytag repair man commercial that was advertised on TV for washing machines. Apparently Maytag only knows how to make washing machines (I did not buy one of their washing machines after my experiments with their stove). From day one the oven door never closed right, the self cleaning oven device had to be replaced 3 times over the year after have a repairman tell me that they all fail. I stopped using the self cleaning feature. This stove has cost me so much in repairs. The cook top is very very hard to clean. It always looks dirty. All the plastic knobs have melted off because the oven door never closed right. And the knobs are crazy expensive to replace as is just about everything on this stove. The oven temperature can not be trusted never cooked at the temperature it was set at. I paid a lot of money for this stove 10 years ago. And I am finally able to replace it thanks to a Christmas present from my 3 children. I love to cook and this stove made it difficult. My advice is to look for a different company when buying a kitchen stove. This Maytag has been nothing but trouble for me.

I bought 4 appliances - stove, refrigerator, dishwasher and microwave. Just after 1 year, our dishwasher stopped working. Serviceman said it was the motherboard. I had to talk with a supervisor in customer service to get it covered and found that it was only a switch that was bad. Next, our ice maker overflowed with water, causing damage to our new hardwood floor. Again, I had to talk with a supervisor to get this covered and I did not file a claim for the floor. Then, our stove shut down. Repairman found that a wire was shoved into the top box, causing them to be exposed and shorting out the system. Now 2 years and 4 months, our microwave is not heating and I have to call for service. This was a brand-new kitchen that was remodeled and all appliances were new.I am very disgusted with Maytag products and their attitude of We are sorry, but there is nothing we can do as the warranty has expired. It used to be 3-year warranties for Maytag products until they were bought out. Never will I buy their products again. Have been married 40 years, and our other appliances for 38 years never failed and to find that these products are made in the USA.

I purchased an automatic dishwasher for $660.00 on or about Aug of 2007 (Mod #MDB6759AWS3 ser # NY3417703). It was a model about to be discontinued however still carried the full one year warranty. After install one year and 28 days it failed. The tech described a faulty computer board and a replacement cost of $885.00, a cost of $215.00 more than it originally cost!! They did offer a warranty of one year after we installed the new part but at a cost of $215.00 more than we originally paid! Maytag promotes their brand as reliable. However I dispute this claim.

Had a brand new Maytag MDB4949 dishwasher installed on 10/20/15. Noticed an acrid smell of burning plastic coming from the pull handle. After going to the reviews I see a pattern of shorting control panel boards melting the ribbon cable. Having repaired Xerox copy machines for 17 years, I recognized the smell of an electronics short and melting plastic. There are 600+ complaints for the same thing. Going to call the store we purchased it from and will escalate from there.

I am submitting this review today to express my disappointment with my Maytag washer. This is the Maytag MVWX655DW (Bravo), with Serial# C61842055. In August of 2016 I lost many treasured items due to a flood in Lafayette, Louisiana. My daughter and I were devastated and displaced because of this event. This is also in addition to completing Cancer treatment 2 days before the flood.I lost my GE washer which was a great product. It was a struggle for a long time, but we were finally get back on our feet. I was able to get another place to live, and it was time to purchase a washer. I was told that Maytag was one of the best products on the market, so I decided to purchase my first Maytag washer. This did not turn out well for me, and it was very disappointing. After 9 months of ownership of this product, it is broken! It is my belief that the product may have been defective.I put in a service call, and had a repairman come to my apartment on June 19th. I was told that my washer needs several parts to repair it, including a pump. I have never had this issue with prior washers. My previous washer before my GE purchase survived for over 10 years before it has had any issues. I called on June 26th to ask about Maytag issuing me a new washer or a full refund, instead of repairing this faulty product. I was told no, and was offered and extended warranty for 6 more months and $75.00. I expressed to her that I would rather have a new washer.The Bravo Washer is a very bad product. Instead of taking advantage of customers, Maytag needs to stand by that 10 year warranty sticker on the washer. Please understand this purchase is a LEMON. This washer did not last a year. After all I have been through, I did not need this financial hardship. In the long run, this product will die again. Unfortunately for me I may not be able to afford to purchase another washer. I am still getting follow-up treatment for my Cancer, and it is very expensive. Can someone please re-evaluate the need for a replacement washer or offer me a full refund? This product should not be broken after only 9 months of service.

I have had this refrigerator only 6 weeks. The freezer works but the refrigerator does not cool properly. I went back to Home Depot - Baltimore MD and told them I have lost 3-1 gallons of milk for it spoiled. I am right now putting a 4th gallon in and out of the freezer trying to keep it. A serviceman was to my house the other day and stated this brand new Maytag refrigerator only had in my home 6 weeks needs a new board and a flapper that opens up in freezer that sends cold air to refrigerator. Parts are on order. Home Depot would not trade a Maytag refrigerator that worked well and take this lemon back. I am stuck with a lemon I only bought 6 weeks ago.

We have had and used this washing machine for over 25 years and only had one small problem and that was to replace the lid switch and the machine is working today as good as the day we bought it, it has went through raising four kids and many grandkids.

I bought this Maytag French door model MFF2258VEW2 in 2010. Within the first year, it was freezing my vegetables. They sent someone out to fix it. Thank goodness it was under warranty. The man laid the bill down and it was over $800 to fix it. Six months later, it froze up. I called and they said they would send someone out, but I would have to pay for it. Im on disability and cant pay that kind of money. I got someone to come out and fix it. Well, guess what? It has started freezing my vegetables again. This is the third time this thing has gone bad. What do these people think they are doing putting things out like this? I had a Maytag for 30 years and never had any problem with it. So I saved and saved to get me a new one but I will never buy another Maytag. The company should have to replace all the refrigerators that are like this one.

Im extremely disappointed in this machine. I bought this machine after having my Kitchen Aid for 12 yrs. Just last month, the UL message came on. Had someone looked at it and noticed the bearing was loose. He fixed it, just today, it started doing the same thing again!!!!! Now it might be a suspension problem. I had to rate at least a one star because there isn’t a negative to rate. We bought the Maytag mvwb955fc1. First off it doesn’t clean our clothes. I can not get stains out or whites bright. I don’t feel it uses enough water. I put a full load in and it only fills up less than half with water. I try half loads and still not clean. It’s always shutting off when I wash sheets. Indicating it’s off balance. Today I started it before work and the lid exploded. I don’t think I want to even replace it at all. This could have seriously hurt someone. Do not buy this washing machine. The dryer is great so far. I wish I could post a photo to show you all.

WOW! I cant believe I bought a Maytag MDB7749AWM1 Dishwasher without reading any reviews. Paid $650 for it a couple of years ago and the control panel is bad. $390 to repair it, unbelievable! Sounds like Maytag has a major customer service problem because I will NEVER BUY A MAYTAG DISHWASHER again! Spent $5000 grand on new Maytag appliances thinking they were the best to replace the outdated ones. Not the same, not sure what youre doing Maytag but youre losing a lot of loyal customers. What a shame! My old dishwasher lasted over 18 years and I didnt have any problems. 2 years? Come on!!! Same problem as the other 5000 people, someone needs a career change!

I have a Maytag refrigerator that is 7 years old. It works fine except it needs a new freezer door gasket. In trying to get the part so it can be repaired I discovered that they had chosen to discontinue production of this part. I can no longer get it anywhere. They were the most unhelpful customer service I have ever worked with. They refused to try to find a part for another model that may work. They refused to offer a discount on a replacement product. They even refused to give me a phone number to talk to management. I had always been a loyal customer to their brand prior to this but I will never again purchase a Whirlpool or Maytag product. I dont expect not to have an issue but I do expect the ability to be supported in obtaining a commonly replaced part for a major appliance that is less than 10 years old.

My Maytag is 2 weeks old, and knew from the start I had a lemon. The compressor sounds like a giant freezer. I had the service man take a look at it, and while he was here the compressor did not come on. He pulled the plug from the fridge and turned it back on and still it did not turn on. I asked him to stay till it turned on and he said he could not stay any longer. I waited for him from 2 PM till 7:30 PM. He was to arrive between 3 and 6. Talk about frustration, and I only wish I had read all the reports before I bought this junker. I was so worried I decided to get the insurance for 4 years. The reason the ice forms is because you have no control over the ice. You cant see them and they get stuck. I had a side by side before this, and I can kick myself for not buying a side by side again. I was told to shut it it down when youve had enough ice cubes, to stop it from getting stuck. This ice maker is so big and so hard to pull out and the switch to turn it off is on the inside. So far my only complaint was the humming, but I can see a tough road ahead.

I bought my Maytag Centennial washer & dryer about 2 yrs ago. It wasnt long after I bought the set, that the washer started having problems. I noticed the button to turn it on wouldnt go off. Then it was a pain in the ** to not be able to open the lid while the water was filling up. Something I havent noticed until today, its suppose to fill up to the amount of clothes that is in the washing machine. Well when I opened the lid there wasnt enough water in there to even cover all the clothes. Now I know why my clothes are not coming out clean!!! I am so frustrated with this machine and the company!!! DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!!!

I purchased a new Maytag fridge apx 8 months ago (model# MFF2258VEW6). It has french doors and a bottom freezer and from day 1 it has constantly leaked water all over my kitchen floor. I started putting towels in front of it after my first slip and fall. I had the water line checked for the ice maker and it was fine. It continued leaking day after day. Then I started getting a lot of ice build up all over the drawers and on my frozen food, which became freezer burned and I only had the temp at 2. They have a warranty on it, so called the company and they brought me a loaner fridge of the same kind.. OMG this fridge is doing the same exact thing, even worse. I am disabled and fell last night again and my leg and foot is so swollen.. I really hurt myself and Im not going to let this company get away with this!! I called the company and told them and they are checking into what they can do with the refrigerator. After reading all the about the Maytag bottom fridge leaks and other problems, I refuse to get the same one again. If they do not do something, I promise I will before I get hurt again!

My clothes sometimes come with white spots on them. My clothes are very twisted. I would LOVE to have Maytag replace my washing machine so I could again sing their praises!!!

No problem with retailer. Problem is this top of the line Maytag dishwasher, Model# MD8895lAWW. Stinks all around. Takes long to wash and load, times are far apart and too few so holds few dishes. Dishes and glasses break because of the tine spaces. Horrible dishwasher for high price. I hate it so much it upsets me daily. All I get is a sorry from Maytag. Its not that old, only a year and a half. Why no satisfaction? I will avoid all Maytag products for life.

In reading the reviews of a Maytag Dishwasher, I am also frustrated in the dishwasher is only 3 years old and the start button does not work. It cost $75.00 for the repair person to come in to take a look at it which they deduct from the cost, total repair cost $300.00. Did not make sense at this time to have to pay the $75.00 repair person and then purchase another $500.00 dishwasher so paid the total $300.00 hoping to get a few more years out of Maytag dishwasher. By the other reviews, may not be possible. Just very frustrating.

Maytag MVWC300BW clothes washer makes holes in heavy duty T shirts & sheets. It stretches clothing. We are following directions in loading without success. We are washing everything on the gentle cycle twice to get the clothes clean without destroying them. Today we were stood up for our third service call.

I purchased this Maytag Bravos machine because I was told it can wash large loads and is one of the best washers out there... Both are so far from the truth, this is the worst machine I have ever owned. The water level is almost none. And my clothes come out dirty and I have to wash several times to even get them semi cleaned. I am not rich and trying to save enough. To buy this machine was not easy and I am now with no options. I called Lowes after a couple day after I got the machine and told them it is not working. They sent me another machine yet it still does not clean my clothes. I wanted to return it and get a better machine but they refuse to allow me to do so because now it is 2 months old and past the 30 day return. I purchased an extended warranty which is useless cause. The machine is junk even when working as it should... I will never buy from Maytag again because they refuse to back their crappy product and refund my money. I would tell anyone looking for a washer to not go with Maytag. They are terrible machines and a bad design... I even contacted Maytag and was pretty much told too bad and just rewash my clothes as many times I need but they will not do anything to resolve this issue. TOO bad is what I was told...

Maytag and Home Depot do not back their products or assist customers. While repair my fathers home in Grand Junction Colorado, Home Depot workman grabbed the 30 year old washer and dryer by the controls and promptly destroyed the machines. No - Home Depot didnt do anything despite complaints. I bought a brand new Maytag Washer and Dryer for the Grand Junction, Colorado home. The famous Maytags that are called dependable only lasted 3 months. When I went to complain at the Grand Junction Home Depot - the manager - Cheryl - called me a lair when I said I left phone messages for her. Cheryl seems to represent the best of Home Depot when she doesnt assist customers - is nasty and calls them liars when they say they left phone messages for her. No - Home Depot would not back their selling Maytag, and worse, they wont assist you in finding how to contact Maytag. Cheryls response was - Contact Maytag. Good bye. I was not given a contact or phone number - nothing. I spent over $32,000 at Home Depot fixing up my fathers home and rentals and this is how Home Depot treats customers. Worse I have a worthless Maytag that ceased working after just 3 months. I have purchased the Bravo washer less than 2 years ago. Within one year the mother board went. They replaced it because it was less than a year. Here I am not a year later and the mother board went again. It’s not under warranty so this time its on me. I call and all they say is “there is nothing saying they are having any problems with this.” Now I happen to know my own sister bought the same washer one month before I did. She was also told it was her mother board. It was almost as much to replace than to buy a new washer and by the way she is the who recommend the product to me, so I know she called Maytag and complained so if 2 of us in the same family had an issue I find it hard to believe no one else did. You call and they could care less. I would recommend never to purchase Maytag AGAIN!

First front loader washer and love it. Saving on water, less tangling of clothes. So far they are quieter than others that I have had. The dryer is almost 10 years old and the washer less than a year. The machine I had previous to this was top loader that had to be replaced, would no longer spin.

I purchased the Maytag MDB7749SBM dishwasher just over 2 years ago. After owning for 1.5 years, the control board malfunctioned. After discussions with Maytag customer service that began in late December 2014, it was finally repaired in February 2015, with the control board being completely replaced. Within just a few months the dishwasher again fails. The first time, it would not stop running. This time, it will not run at all. I called customer service today (August 1, 2015) and they expect me to pay for the repair.It is easy to Google and find multiple review sites that indicate hundreds of consumers have similar problems, but Maytag will not acknowledge any issue, as the customer service rep indicated today (she said her information showed no recalls). Within two years I am now faced with paying $600+ for a dishwasher for a second time. This is terrible customer service on Maytags part. They have lost my business and I am warning consumers on every platform I have.

Please let me know if there is a class action suit. This refrigerator leaks water all my floor every three days or so. I have to chip the ice off the bottom of freezer every three or four days. Storage is also a joke. Poor design.

I had no issues with my washer. The best thing I ever did was stop using Sabrina softener in it and made the switch to vinegar. The worst thing I ever did was think that paying $900+ for a nice washer would get me more than a year! What a joke! I started noticing small leaks when my hardwood floors started lifting and once my husband looked into this, we realized there is no seal around the top of the drum. So there is no barrier between the drum and your floors basically. Then one day we had a flood. As we watched the cycle run, we noticed that when the water was filling into the bleach and fabric softener compartments it was coming in at such a high rate, it was spilling over the sides down to the floor. So we went to the internet and found a few complaints about this, but no answers. Thankfully we found one guy who had the exact same problem and even had pictures that matched ours. Luckily a real appliance tech answered him and he couldnt even figure it out but took a guess at what I might be: the water inlet valve. But that was just a guess. So we called around to find the part and talked with a few sales persons. One was so nice to even ask a technician standing in line. And he said that there was no way this could be it. But then we decided to take a gamble. We also noticed that both compartments were filling up at the same time, but the bleach should fill during the wash cycle and the fabric softener during the rinse cycle. So it was either the $104 water inlet valve. Or the $200+ circuit board. These are my options after already spending $900+.. So we went with the valve and thank goodness it worked!!!! It is so disappointing that after a short time, this washer broke and cause more damage to my floors. It is an awful design. I bought myself the nicest front loaders for my first house. When that broke 7 years later, I bought this washer because I liked the no agitator design without the smell of a front loader. Now when this one breaks again, Im not buying another HE machine. The majority of people I talked with today said that these HE machines are breaking down faster and faster as the get better and better. I am so beyond disappointed, angry and in shock that this washer failed in less than a year and a half time. My hope is that this review will give the answers we couldnt find without paying an arm and a leg. Is this what passes for quality these days???

Our Maytag dishwasher was just past the 1-year mark when the control panel stopped working. A certified Maytag repair service came out to diagnose just that and charged us $89. Maytag sent the user interface out to us, and my husband noted that there was absolutely no way that the part could be installed wrong. The wires could only go one way. The repair service (DSM Appliance Service) wanted another $120 to install it. We installed it, and it still doesnt work. Maytag will no longer assist us in any way. I will never buy a Maytag or Whirlpool appliance again. After investigating, I see that this control panel issue has happened many, many times; and I wonder why there hasnt been something done about it.

French door refrigerator w/ freezer in bottom 2 years old. Purchased this model MFI2665XEM7 December 2012. June 2014 had repairs to freezer. Freezer froze up and bulb stopped working. Maytag covered repairs. September 2014 the ice maker stopped working and having it replaced as we speak. Total cost today for ice maker replacement $216.18. Am I POd, hell yes!!!!!!!!!!!!

Purchased this double oven back in 2012 and have had to have the control valves replaced twice because of them jamming and snapping. The burners are undersized for cooking and it takes forever to get water to a rolling boil. The broiler in the upper oven needs constant attention when using it because food cooks unevenly and burns quickly. The lower oven is great, convection is awesome. I have seen the Maytag repairman more from my stove than I have for any of the other appliances I owe combined. Maytag should stick to appliances that only use water.

Maytag Centennial Washer - Bought washer because of brand name and was that a mistake! This is the Loudest, noisiest, banging clanking washing machine I have ever heard. Every time I do a load of laundry the washer moves a foot from the wall and I have to continually move it back. Needless to say I hover over it all the time when I do laundry. It isnt even 2 years old and we are going to go buy a new machine, AFTER looking at reviews!!!

We purchased all Maytag home appliances when our home was remodeled about five years ago. After the first year, the microwave had to be replaced because it malfunctioned. Moisture had gotten into the compressor, and with the cost of repair or replacing the compressor, I would probably be better off buying a new refrigerator, preferably not a Maytag.

I bought a Maytag refrigerator model MBB1953XEW three weeks ago. According to its features on the Maytag website, its supposed to be quiet (QuietSeries 100 sound package). Ha ha, make me laugh. Prior to that, I had a good old Kenmore that was perfectly alright but that I had to give away for other reasons. I have had this range (Maytag MER8775AS electric range) for 36 days. The hot surface indicator light doesnt come on (bulb is fine) and the heat elements turn on and off on their own when I am cooking. 36 days! This thing is junk! I am going to see if I can return it, even though it is outside the 30-day window.

I have always used Maytag products at home and work. I have never had a problem like this one. The front load washers have a manufacture default with the boot that allows mold to grow even when it is wiped out as instructed. I have contacted other people and they have the same problem. I will not or ever buy a front load Maytag again and could never recommend this product to anyone. I feel that the Maytag company should replace the boot with a different design; at no cost to the consumer! This machine was only a year old. I have no problem with the company I bought it from. Purchased Maytag front load washer model MHW6630HW from Home Depot. Machine was installed 9/15/19. From inception we had issues that have escalated. Machine leaks and makes strange hissing sounds. Home Depot has no record of the purchase in their website now. We tried to return it within days. We contacted Home Depot executive offices and they keep sending Paradise Appliance repair. The repair people do nothing and keep saying we have to come back again for you to be considered for replacement. Home Depot is dragging their feet and we are concerned about the six month deadline. The Maytag does not do an effective job washing and clothes comes out wrinkled. Concerned about the sporadic leak getting worst and doing damage to floors.

I bought a Maytag washer and dryer in Cookeville TN. In 2018. After a year it quit. The service man from the authorized dealer in Cookeville could not repair it. Purchased Maytag 4000 series washer Feb. 26 2011 - within six months Maytag warranty replaced the drum and bearings, within another few months Maytag worked on the drum again. Year two started out with the warranty contract replace the drum and bearings again. Oct 1 2014 called for service again, the drum not moving and having to wait 2 weeks for Tech. to checkout the machine then order parts. I have 7 children at home and that didnt matter to anyone. After reading online the number of 4000 series Maytag machines with this problem somebody needs to make Maytag recall and replace them.

The refrigerator has been very dependable for over 14 years. The biggest problem we have had is failure of plastic tracks on drawers that break and had to replace drawers and other problems with plastic components like deli drawer coverlet, and door shelf door plastic. Recently we have problems with the touch control panel on front of door. Not working properly for ice dispensing and temp. control although temp is maintaining what we had set prior to failure of control panel.

After 3 years it started making rattling sounds so we had someone come out and fix it for around $275.00. 2 years later its still rattling, leaving black grease marks and putting holes in the clothes. Will not complete cycle unless it is unplugged, reset and plugged back in. I give up, I just bought an LG. I will never buy another Maytag washer again, still have the matching dryer though.

We bought a Maytag refrigerator bottom freezer at Home Depot in 2012/10/15. A few months ago, a sheet of ice formed on the bottom of the freezer. Since the warranty expired, I decided to look at the problem. Now, I am a mechanical person who usually can fix just about anything mechanical. I used a hair dryer to defrost the freezer and saw that the drainage hole was frozen over. I took the entire freezer apart, cleaned the drainage channel, the drainage hole and reassembled the freezer. No more than 24 hours later, the drainage hole was covered with 1/4-1/3 thick ice, the drainage hose and the tray were dry, and the bottom of the freezer was coated with ice. This one problem that I could not solve. The design is so poor, the draining water freezes over the hole before it drains. I read some of the consumers complaints and I just want to add that do NOT waste your money on repairmen, or parts from Maytag, the refrigerator is NOT repairable. I will write off my loss of $900 and look for a new refrigerator, but Maytag will never see my money again.

We purchased Maytag Dishwasher MDB5601AWW/46171101NP when we built our new home. In the last several months, water was leaking out onto the floor. We called Maytag and they told us there was a recall on the heater element and that they would send the part out. We made sure they knew the reason for our call--TO REPLACE THE GASKETS!. Maytag contacted a local authorized repair person. When they called to set up appointment, my husband reminded him about the gaskets. The guy showed up without gaskets, saying Maytag didnt put it on the order! We called Maytag to set up another service call. The guy showed up again today without the gaskets. We were told they had to be ordered and that he would have to come out again! Three service calls for one issue! Aside from this, the circuit board has never worked right. We push the correct buttons, but never know what kind of cycle we will get. We learned to live with it. Our bottom racks are melted as well as the sides of the dishwasher. Now that we know about the heater element being defective, this may be the cause of the bad gaskets and melted racks. It will cost almost $300 just to replace gaskets, and yes, we have to pay a service call for it when it could have been done in the first place. We called Maytag to complain and were told that replacing the gaskets always takes two service calls--one for diagnosis and the second to put in part. They said they dont take the customers word for it when we tell them whats wrong!

The service technician diagnosis was that it needs a new control panel at a cost of about $200.00. We chose not to do the repair since the technician recommended against it.

We purchased a Maytag MVWX655DW1 Bravos MCT washer in 2017 and I recall a sloshing sound during agitation. Its a high efficiency model and was okay for several months, I think. It began to make something of a clunking sound during agitation that was similar to the deceleration sounds when the spin cycle completes. It seems that is an indication that something is wrong. Clothes arent clean after washing - another reason to suspect a problem. I observed the wash cycles and noticed that some items dont even get wet during the wash cycle. The clunking is probably an indication of the type of failure but I couldnt find anything other than someone else asking the same question when I did an internet search. Expected performance is shown in a company video with water sloshing during agitation. Thats the key take-away. My basket moves back and forth an inch or two during agitation and makes a clunking sound at each direction change. Water isnt sloshing through clothing and some of the garage rags that were once my clothes probably just needed a good washing. I suppose that even cleaning the washer isnt accomplishing much. The spin cycle is actually impressive. I load the washer evenly and find the completed loads with a towel or shirt evenly covering the clothes pulled to the basket below. Unfortunately, thats probably the only part of the process cleaning anything.The enclosure says its designed and assembled in U.S.A. and, unfortunately, speaks to our manufacturing ability. Some of the engineers Ive worked with over the years suggested areas to inspect. I was able to use my phone camera to look under the unit and noted that it is controlled by a main drive motor and a little synchronous motor with a linkage that Im guessing changes agitation direction. Both are made in China. Ive considered repairing it and just pulled the wash plate for inspection and found nothing beyond the difficulty of pulling the wash plate. Probably an issue with the drive assembly and a few hundred dollars in parts to fix. Ive also had input from someone about the cost of replacing the control board. I grew up with TV commercials of the Maytag repairman with nothing to repair in the world of reliable, American products. Its disappointing to find that is no longer the case. The low tech GE washers weve used all our lives were old and ugly when they left our house. Not defective, a few drops of oil below or worn finish but still working. It really is a disappointment to look at where we are today. It didnt have to collect samples on Mars or deliver orders in a self-driving vehicle. A reliable washer to clean dirty clothes is all we hoped for.

After my divorce, I bought a new house for my youngest son and me. It came without a fridge, so I used some of my settlement money to buy one I had been dying to get - stainless, French door, with bottom drawer freezer! It worked fine for the first 9 months or so. Then it started making this god awful noise. It starts, rumbles for a while (long enough to wake everyone up or give the dog a coronary), then is quiet for a while. Next, I open the freezer to find a sheet of ice across the bottom of the drawer. I assumed I had done something, so I got rid of it and thought nothing else of it. Last night, I get ready to make dinner and there is this blizzard of frost all over the freezer. It looks like a winter wonderland. I am afraid to see what is there when I go home and even more fearful to attempt to use my warranty.

I told the customer service agent that Id be happy with an estimate of any parameter: the maximum water demand for any cycle, the minimum, the average any ballpark estimate would be great! My goal is to change in a meaningful way our weekly water use. How much does it matter if I do my familys laundry once vs. twice per week? Is it any more water-efficient to run one large load vs. two small ones? The Customer Service agents would offer only a scripted response to my query. Could they tell me the minimum or maximum amount of water used (on average) by any of the cycles? Any cycle any condition, just an estimate, please. A universal it depends was all I could extract.The scripted answer? The amount of water used depends on the sensor and the exact conditions. Well, yes, of course; I dont expect a specific amount. Just as the amount of gas used by a car depends on the length of a trip and the speed driven, the amount of water used per cycle will vary, but nevertheless we know, more or less, how much gas is used by a Toyota Camry on a trip between New York and the Maytag Customer Service office in Benton Harbor, Michigan. I noted that, if Maytag claims to build high efficiency (HE) machines, then they must be HE in comparison to something, right? -- otherwise how could they claim that these machines used less water? Less than... what?** insisted that no one at Maytag could tell me the answer. He asked, What reason could Maytag have not to disclose this information? I know this isnt the answer you want to hear, but its simply not available. Not even a range of water use per cycle required/solicited/demanded by the sensor? Can Maytags engineers be so indifferent that they never tested any cycle for its water use, but instead they just imagine that, by virtue of its mysterious sensor, it was lower than the use by their non-efficient machines? Your help in getting to the bottom of what felt like an act of stonewalling would be highly appreciated!

My washer has always had an odor, and I clean the gasket. It gets mold on the gasket and smells horrible! Now for my dryer, it has 3 baffles inside that helps turn and fluff the clothes, and 2 of mine have broke off. And that results in clothes that look like they have been in the dryer for weeks. And I take them out as soon as they are done drying.

I bought a Maytag Top Loader. I soon discovered that it is not possible to do a cold water wash. After much communication with Maytag Customer Service it was determined that there is no way to bypass it. And it uses a lot of hot water, even on a cold wash. Their explanation was that the water needed to be a certain temperature to make the detergent work effectively. The same detergent that I’ve been using for 40 years with cold water in my Speed Queen. When I need to do a cold water wash, I go to my parents home and use their washer. Disappointing purchase, my last Maytag, for sure.

Oven failed after 2.5 years of normal use (1-2x / week). Apparently a relay failed (and burned out bake element). Contacted service & parts dept and learned that repair would cost $100 for service visit and $413 to replace the control board. Only the $80 bake element is covered by the limited warranty. Wonderful oven if your hobby is appliance repair. After 2.5 years, it now functions better as a toilet than an oven.

I purchased this Maytag Dishwasher Model MDB8949SBM on November 23, 2013 and installed dishwasher in late January after new cabinets/countertops were installed. After four months the control board failed. I live out in the country and Maytag does not pay for a repairman to make a special trip for repairs, so we had to wait 2 weeks when the repairman was in the area. We purchased this dishwasher on reviews which seemed pretty good, but never bothered to check on complaints of Maytag dishwashers. I can see most all complaints are the control panels failing. Well it is November 19th and the control panel has failed again. My wife said the lights blink and when she presses a wash cycle, a different wash cycle will light and blink. She will press the start button and nothing happens. You can bet I will call first thing in the morning as the warranty will expire in a few days and I will write the persons name down and the time that I talked being that Maytag seems to lose conversations with customers. I hope Maytag doesnt give me the runaround like may others on this site. I dont understand why Maytag doesnt correct this problem that they have known about for years.

We bought this washer in 2009. It has only been 5 years and we had a problem with the lid, now it leaks on the floor and most of all it has been rusting on the lid, the sides and rusting around the bleach port. Rusting on the top edge of the outside metal skin. I am not happy with this product at all. The serial number CV0870202. Model number is MVWB800VQZ. It is a quiet series purchased on 2009. I am not happy with the quality of this washer and I will not buy another Maytag.

I made the mistake of buying a Maytag fridge and dishwasher when I moved into my home 16 years ago. Ive had nothing but trouble with these inferior appliances since almost day one. The seals on the freezer quickly started to separate, causing ice chunks and insufficient temperatures. We had an extended warranty, but they refused to replace it. Weve had that fixed approximately 10 times - never resolved it. The plastic covering on the dishwasher racks began to peel early on, which caused the metal underneath to rust, in turn causing the clean dishes to come out with little rust flakes all over them. This company obviously cares only about profits. Save yourself a ton of headache and DO NOT BUY MAYTAG.

It washes extremely well. Its reliable. The wifey loves it and thats enough for me!!! I have had no major mechanical issues. Since 2012 we use it heavily and every other day. I would purchase same brand if need be but Im confident that would probably be in 2024.

I have always bought Maytag and never had a problem except with this new washer. Our clothes smell like dirty laundry and when done washing there is lint in the creases or folds of the clothes. I am using a product for cleaning the washer each month, but our clothes still have an odor. I sold my 20 year old Maytag set and upgraded to this Maytag Bravos washer. This machine takes almost 1 hour to do a load and they come out dirty. Only way to get clean is to set on bulky sheet which uses twice as much water as old machine. This unit should have never been put on the market.

I remodeled my kitchen, put in all new Maytag Almond appliances washer, dryer, stove, refrigerator, dishwasher and microwave oven. I was pleased with everything but the stove. The stove was $800.00. The oven caught fire three times and smoked up my house. I replaced the stove with another brand, cheaper and safer. I moved to a new house, five years later, bought all Maytag appliances stainless steel. The hinge on the deli tray broke, the inside is thin plastic, not covered in extended warranty. The stove caught fire (I didnt learn the first time around)! The microwave has a thin, bendable, plastic rack, the handle snapped right off. I cant buy a handle separate from the door. Now the microwave wont heat! My dishwasher was recalled. The heating element could have caused a fire! Nothing that breaks or malfunctions is covered by warranty. Who needs to pay for a warranty too and get no parts or service rendered! I will buy all new appliances and when I do, it wont be anything Maytag makes and none of their other brands! This stuff is very expensive garbage! Somebody please initiate a class action suit!

We have had our Maytag dishwasher MDB9100AWQ only 5 years and now it keeps shutting off. I see there is plenty of this complaint. I will not purchase another Maytag product after reading all these reviews and experiencing it.

We purchased a Maytag Bravo in 2011. With only three adults in the house using it for regular clothes washing, we were surprised when we had to call a repairman and the charge was going to be over $500 to fix the transmission and clutch. We had the same problem as described in many of the other comments, i.e., door sensor would not work properly and machine would not spin. Not even worth it to fix. Word is that Maytag is made by Whirlpool and if this is true, it would explain the disappointment. We have replaced more Whirlpool appliances than I can count. Never again Maytag!

I bought a Maytag washer and dryer so many years ago that I have forgotten when it was. They have performed admirably under trying conditions. I have tried different amounts of HE detergent and clothes are twisted and wrinkled terribly and have remaining soap residue on them, even when I use less soap than recommended. I wish I would have returned this machine immediately after a few loads. It doesnt get better with time. It is very loud, but that is the least of its problems.

We purchased a front-load Maytag washing machine (Model MHW3505FW1) two years ago this month. When the machine is empty, we always leave to door open. We dont allow clothes to stay in it for long, never for more than a day (the load is usually changed as soon as the cycle is over). Right now, the rubber seal on the front has tons of black mold on it, and when I lift the seal to look underneath, its way worse. There have been many problems like this reported on front-loaders. Wish Id known! Maytag will not send a replacement seal.

MF12569YEM2 - Purchased refrigerator less than 2 1/2 years ago, also started having issues with ice forming in bottom freezer and leaking on to floor. I shut the water source off to the water/ice feature, but it didnt solve the problem. After getting on this site and seeing the issue is quite widespread it seems that it should be considered a manufacturing defect. This is the second (actually third) Maytag Refrigerator we have had, one had actually needed to be replaced about 13 years ago because of electrical problem which service man said could cause it to catch fire. The replacement (different model) worked fine for about 11 years... so we decided to try Maytag again... WHAT A MISTAKE! After reading about the multiple problems we can look forward to and endless service calls I too would never purchase any Maytag or Whirlpool appliances in the future...maybe the company should think about the impact on lost consumers!
