Purchased a Maytag dishwasher (Model #MDB7749SAW1) in January of 2013, installed in February. A little over a year later the control panel went out. I called Maytag and they were kind enough to pay for the part and I had to pay for the service. Now it is July of 2015 and the control panel is going out again. I called Maytag directly and talked with a service representative and the best they could do for me was for $269.95 they would have it fixed and I would have a one year warranty as well. Based on the pattern the warranty is not going to help as it goes out just after a year. For only having it 2 1/2 years it is becoming a very expensive dishwasher. There should be a recall on this control panel. Very disappointed.

The only complaint is the lights on the bottom quit working about a month after we purchased. It was nice to light up the stovetop when cooking. Now it’s slightly dark. I have gotten used to this. We spent about $8000 on all the matching Maytag appliances we purchased. I would love to replace all but not in the budget. I am a dissatisfied Maytag customer.

I have a Maytag dishwasher and the rollers for the racks are failing due to heat: plastic wheels breaking up. $35 each to buy and replace. There are eight total. So $280 because of poor testing and quality of materials. Manufacturers should test to ensure the parts last a reasonable period of time and are designed for the environment in which they are being used.

Maytag Centennial Model MVWC400XW4 - Washer is leaking from the bottom and making loud noises when spinning. Called the Maytag repairman and right away said that the bearings were bad. He said it was a 800 dollar repair for this 500 dollar machine. The service call cost me $97. I immediately went out and bought a GE machine. I wont buy another Maytag.

Hello, My recently purchased dishwasher has leaked water within less than half an hour of the fifth time to be used and showed error: F8E4, dishwasher model and SN are: Model: MDB4949SKZ. Serial # : FA3003347. Registered: 09/11/2021, Ive been calling Home Depot who in turn asked the installer to check the connection, and the latter advised and reported its a manufacturer issue. And calling Maytag for several times but no response or action. On-line service scheduling of Maytag is not working!!! And the live chat is not helping, as well. Now my dishwasher is not working since more than two weeks, knowing that it has been installed only a month ago.

I purchase my Maytag Side by Side Refrigerator back in 2006 New. I purchase a Maytag based on the supposedly quality of their Products. And I have stove, and dishwasher as well. A week ago, after purchasing groceries, and made it home. The Refrigerator had gone out. I tried calling Maytag without success and broke down and called sears repair to come out. Well they made it today, and I was informed the Compressor had gone out, and would cost me $998.00 to repair. Of course I told him to get out of my home, because at that price I could purchase a new one. And you can bet it want be a Maytag ever again. I am so disappointed in their claims of being the best. Hype!!!

I had to rate at least a one star because there isn’t a negative to rate. We bought the Maytag mvwb955fc1. First off it doesn’t clean our clothes. I can not get stains out or whites bright. I don’t feel it uses enough water. I put a full load in and it only fills up less than half with water. I try half loads and still not clean. It’s always shutting off when I wash sheets. Indicating it’s off balance. Today I started it before work and the lid exploded. I don’t think I want to even replace it at all. This could have seriously hurt someone. Do not buy this washing machine. The dryer is great so far. I wish I could post a photo to show you all.

First I would like to thank the salesman who has worked diligently to solve the problem I am having. The first load of dark clothes I washed came out with what looked like lint on them. It has to be scraped off. Yes I am using HE detergent. Yes I am using the minimum amount recommended by the manufacturer. & yes to all the other questions I have asked. The solution was to wash the dark clothes on power wash with an extra rinse. Very energy efficient! This was NOT the answer so I was given a 1-800 # to call. After giving all the necessary information & answering all of the questions about detergent etc. the conversation became a little more in depth. Does it happen with dark clothes? Do you dry your clothes outside or in a drier? It was becoming obvious to me that Maytag is aware of this problem. By this point I was even unhappier as no solutions were being offered. Finally after several would you mind holding the line again for just a minute he said he couldnt tell me to do this but some of his friends add a cup of vinegar to their wash. At this point I told him I was sorry I had ever bought this machine. He then said he would have a technician arrange an appointment. He arrived & declared I was using too much detergent even though by then I was using half on the manufacturers recommended amount. Buying an energy efficient washer where I have to use POWER WASH, EXTRA RINSE, VINEGAR & DRIER is not a good answer for a problem Maytag must be aware of as I read the reviews today. I have just done 2 loads of dark laundry with no detergent & the pants are marked so I WANT AN ANSWER.

Maytag dishwasher model MDB4949SDE3: This dishwasher is the biggest POS that I have ever owned in 40 years. The first one would never turn on and fill with water and after it finally did it leaked on my new floor. Waited 10 days to have it replaced. The dishwasher cycle is 2.5 - 3.5 hours and the dishes come out dirty. The top rack is not adjustable to wash odd things. I feel that these dishwashers need to be replaced.

I grew up trusting and believing in the name brand Maytag. Unfortunately, I wont anymore. I purchased a Maytag MDB7749AWM1 dishwasher from Lowes thinking that I would not need the extended warranty because well it was a Maytag and they just keep working and working for years to come. Not true anymore. 1.5 years after the purchase the control board has gone out. I come to find that hundreds upon hundreds of people have all experienced the same thing. Shortly after the manufacturer warranty expires, the panel dies. By all accounts it is an issue of POOR engineering and Maytag now being produced by Whirlpool. The replacement part is between $150 and $200. Thats about half the purchase price. It is a racket. Companies like this probably think, well if we build something that is going to last and last we cant make money on that. So lets rig it so our stuff breaks right after the warranty and charge half the price of the unit to fix it so we continue to make money either by people buying the part or just going and getting a new dishwasher. Well I can tell you I will be getting a new dishwasher and it certainly wont be a Maytag OR a Whirlpool.

We purchased our Neptune washer and dryer combo MLG2000AWW from Circuit City in 1999 for $1900 also purchased the extended warranty. Here we are 15 years later and time to replace with new Samsung units. Besides having the main bearing replaced after 6 years in service, and having a sensor and a switch replaced on two separate occasions all covered by the warranty, our Neptune provided exceptional service throughout the 15 years. My understanding was that Maytag was bought out and run very poorly in the early 2000s as our unit was produced prior to that time... when Maytag was Maytag.

Dryer doesn’t wash all the clothes and the dryer doesn’t dry anything correctly. All, regardless of materials or size of load, comes out damp. Repairman’s excuse was that it’s a learning curve(?) and our dryer vent was the cause (which it wasn’t as we had it checked out and there was nothing in it) and that was it. Very disappointed in the washer and dryer and now the company where we bought them as it seems that we’re stuck with over $2K worth of equipment that doesn’t wash or dry well. We’re awaiting to speak with manager for a replacement of anything not Maytag. Not holding our breath and definitely not a happy customer.

We purchased a bottom freezer refrigerator from the Home Depot in 2013 and I am sorry to say this refrigerator does not deserve any stars. Immediately after the warranty was up our refrigerator started leaking all over the floor. The drain clogged and freezes up on the bottom under the freezer. When it becomes full, it leaks all over my hardwood floor. I have now become a slave to this refrigerator. Each week I have to open the freezer and get down on my hands and knees to break up the ice, scoop it out, toss it in the sink. I have spread the word and I hope anyone who reads this does as well. Never buy a Maytag product because not only do they make defective products, they wont own up to it and recall it.

Maytag Bravos Automatic Washer 300 - I purchased this washer on July 29, 2010 from HH Gregg. It is less than 3 years old. The washer stopped mid-cycle, did not drain, and displayed the code Ld. The service company recommended by Maytag said that the control panel is defective, and the cost to repair/replace it is over $550 and isnt worth fixing since, he says, these washers are notorious for having problems. Maytag is unwilling to recall this washer despite all of the problems that have been reported. They are unwilling to even admit there is a problem.

Washer is Broken After 1-1/2 Years: Yes, the code F51 has come on quite often. Now, my washer does not work at all! Does not spin out, makes thumping noises even though I have taken good care of this machine. It cost me quite a lot of money and thought that this was a wise decision. It’s broken after a year, unbelievable! Also, clothes don’t get clean. I had to wash 2 - 3 times. The clothes wrap around each other and the machine does not clean them well. It’s a horrible machine. I have not called Maytag (Whirlpool) yet as I see from the comments that they will not stand behind their machine. I dont know what to do!

We went to Lowe’s to buy a new washer when our old front loader would’ve cost more to repair than was worth it. This Bravo XL washer is the biggest rip off EVER!! I, like others, have watched with a flashlight & see that most clothes are nowhere NEAR being wet AT ALL!! Let me tell you... I am BEYOND LIVID!! I bought this washer thinking we could wash our comforter at home instead of a laundromat and WHAT A JOKE!! It would never even wet a FOURTH of a queen comforter, let alone the whole thing!! My husband had to actually LEAVE HIS JOB to go home and change because his shirts smelled like a wet animal! People actually were commenting on the smell!!Believe me, we tell EVERYONE how ridiculous this whole energy saving scam is!! AND... I am having to wash clothes TWO and THREE times to get them NEAR smelling normal!! My electric bill and water bill have gone up substantially and again, I AM LIVID BEYOND WORDS!! We spent over $900 for this washer with the extended warranty!!! NEVER EVER AGAIN WOULD I BUY MAYTAG!!! And I have tried EVERYTHING to try to rectify this; I added less detergent, I’ve used the deep water wash, extra rinses. I’ve had the Maytag technician here replacing the circuit board thinking perhaps THAT would give me more water. I sure wish we could all do something for SO MANY of us being taken advantage of!!! Did I mention I’m FUMING?!!?

I bought a new Maytag Quiet Series 300 in 2005 and have had nothing but problems with it. The internal plastic pieces that hold dishes in place have broken off regularly. The door handle also broke. The dishwasher does not drain all the way every time. Now, the dishwasher will quit randomly before finishing its cycle. Our model (MDB7600 AWB) was not part of the recall, but is a lemon nonetheless. Of course, all of this occurred after our one year warranty had expired. This dishwasher is a lemon and a waste of $400. Well never buy another Maytag product.

Purchased our Maytag Bravo Quiet Series 300 about 5 years ago and came to this site to read about other washing machine complaints because I am looking for a new washer. Was SHOCKED to hear so many similar complaints to mine (our local appliance store who sold us this unit, as well as services it, said this was unusual). Tiny holes in all our clothes! Black marks on clothes! Dirty clothes! LOUD & BUMPY washing - will sometimes walk itself around the laundry room, slamming into wash sink & dryer (there are dents to prove the violence). UL light that stops the machine & cant be resolved even after I untangle & lift water-soaked items. Finally started seeing black marks splattering out from under machine & was told the bearing is bad and the case (?) is leaking? ... Anyway, result to repair is MORE THAN ITS WORTH.Also have a 3 year old Maytag Quiet Series 300 DISHWASHER, that does not clean well, sometimes leaves half the dishes untouched (dry & dirty), grinds food waste & redistributes onto dishes before baking it on tight (requires soaking to loosen, then wash by hand) ... Oh, and is NOT quiet! I was told I probably use TOO MUCH SOAP. Seriously?!? My complaint is NOT soap residue ... It is D.I.R.T. How can you run a load and still have sauce & ketchup that dripped onto the inside of the door when loading the dishwasher STILL on the inside of the door??? Darn thing cant even clean itself!

Almost one year to the date of purchase, my Maytag glass top range stopped working. The oven is still operational, but the range top does not work. The knobs turn and the surface lights go on but the elements no longer heat up. Trying to get a response from a real person at Maytag was impossible. I was put through a myriad of prompts that led me to scheduling a service appointment. I called AppliancesMart and got a wonderful sales person who said a service call would cost me 60 to 80 dollars and that he had not heard of repairs below $300 for this type of problem. Needless to say I am very angry and disappointed that I had not done more research before I purchased this item. If I can prevent one more person from making this same mistake, I will get some modicum of satisfaction out of this horrible experience.

We purchased a Maytag Dishwasher (model number mdb6759aws3) about 3 years ago. After about 1 year, the control panel started to go. Certain options would not light up. If I used the options that did light and shut the door, the dishwasher would work. I had called Maytag, and they were charging almost $200.00 to come out to repair. Now after 3 years, the entire panel is out. We had someone come out. We ordered a new touch pad for $265, and it still did not work. It is the control panel that is dead. White clothes come out with some sort of grease stains on them and darks come out with a detergent white scum on them. I have to put them through twice to get the scum off and I have to scrub my whites by hand. So much for your new type washers. If I could find a washer with an agitator and water saver on it, I would buy it in a flash and get rid of this so called newest thing on the market. I have to put a cleaner through it every 2-3 weeks that costs me $10.00 for 3 pucks and having to rewash my clothes does not save water or time. There is a lot to be said for the washers that had water saver on them. First of all, I could open the lid during the wash cycle and add another item. (2) I could use the last of the 2 rinse cycles from my white clothes to start a load of dark clothes, that was truly a water saver and both loads were sparkling clean. Every women that I have discussed these new machines with (both front loaders and top loaders) say that you and other companies that think you have improved wash day for women have definitely not improved it but rather made it a nightmare. Absolutely hate this product. I hasnt given me a moments satisfaction since we spent the $1,000.00.

Not only is the dryer junk, so is Maytag support and service. I have owned this dryer for 2 years; my previous dryers lasted about 20 years each. This one is on its 4th service call, none of which are apparently under warranty (well, except the first one). From what the techs who come out here tell me, the design and build are both poor. I will never own another one of these; if I can stretch it out one more year, then well replace it.For now, the drum wont turn. There is a nylon support bushing (and possibly more) that degrades immediately upon use. There are only two of us, with about 3-4 loads per week. This was supposed to be Commercial Technology. The only thing commercial about it is that you have to rely on commercial laundries to get the drying done. It is good that the drum has a 10 year warranty - it will make a nice planter out by the front gate.

We upgraded and purchased a new Maytag Dishwasher Quiet Series 300 MDBH955A
We upgraded and purchased a new Maytag Dishwasher Quiet Series 300 MDBH955AWQ to benefit our new kitchen remodel. Initially, the dishwasher worked great. I routinely insist on keeping the filters and interior clean as I was raised up believing that if you take care of your equipment, it will take care of you. Very shortly after purchase, there was a fire recall which was taken care of by Maytag and a third party contractor. Then as time went on, it continuously rendered out dishes with debris and food on them. Then it stopped working. It turned out the latch or door handle broke on the pivot point on the interior of the door. I got that replaced and everything was good again. Then about three months later, of course after warranty, it would not start or anything. I verified power and connections and nothing. I spent about $60 on JustAnswer for further advice and the answer was to replace the control board. After about $250 for a service call and $130 additional, it turned out the control board went out. I observed how it appeared to be a poor design due to the control board being exposed to all of the humidity and other moisture from within the dishwasher door. Then after that being fixed, about six months later, the door latch broke again. Its minor enough that you may not realize its broken until you open the door panel back up again. The plastic is breaking Im sure due to the heat and moisture, but its just minor enough that it will not make contact to indicate the door is closed. I got that replaced again for another $140. Four months of that getting fixed and Im getting the same result, no functionality at all from the control panel. In other words, the control board is out again!Ive spent almost as much in repairs that I have for the dishwasher in the first place. As many have stated before, why are we not getting quality products anymore? I went to the Maytag website to see if there were any other additional recalls for this dishwasher, and the recall site was down, so I called. The lady on the phone, as pleasant as she was, indicated that the recall for the heater coil was already performed, which I already knew. I asked, due to the other problems Ive had and money Ive spent, if there were any additional recalls, and of course the reply was no. Im used to staying with a reputable company and providing loyalty to that company for quality products and service, even if I have to spend more initially in order to spend less overall. Obviously, Maytag is now out of the question for future business or referrals. This dishwasher is getting replaced before I put one more dime into it.

We purchased a Maytag Dishwasher Model #MDBTT60AWW3. Shortly after manufacturer warranty ran out, the control panel went out. Luckily we had purchased the extended warranty. The repair company came out and put a new control panel in it. Two months later, the control panel goes out again. The warranty firm sends out a different repair company. They replace the control panel again. This time it doesnt work. They replace some of the buttons as according to the repair person they arent registering the correct OHM reading. It works again. Yay!. A week later, its not working again. The repair company is coming back. This is really starting to get old. Between the multiple times it has broken down, waiting for the repair company to come out, diagnose the problem and order parts, we have been without a dishwasher for approx. 2 months the multiple times it has broken down. Im so fed up with this thing. I also will never ever buy another Maytag again. They need to have a major recall on these because of the terrible, terrible control panel. We went to Home Depot and bought a Maytag front load dishwasher and dryer and microwave 3-1/2 years ago. The washer and dryer were put in right away. The dishwasher and microwave stayed in their box for another year due to us remodelling the house room by room and the kitchen wasn’t done for a year. We put the appliances in and the dishwasher panel went out in October 2011. The washer in April 2012 started having a failure 8 when it gets to the last spin and rinse in which takes a lot of shuffling clothes to get it to finish its cycle. Then last night, May 14th, 2012, the microwave caught fire and all I was doing was brew tea in a glass Pyrex measuring cup not to mention the fan didnt work from day one. The whole house was full of smoke and it melted the plastic. So the most I got out of 3 of these products is 3 years at the most. This is very sad that we spent this much money and it lasted less than 5 years. I am writing this to warn consumers not to buy Maytag appliances. They should last longer than 3 years and are not cheap to buy. This makes me very angry and I hope someone takes this seriously and work on the problems before someone burns up due to these appliances catching fire. Our dishwasher had a recall shortly after we installed it due to the element catching fire and we had your repair man replace it.

I bought the matching Bravos washer and dryer 4 years ago. I always bought Kenmore appliances but decided, based on the then reviews, that I would upgrade to Maytag. Biggest mistake I have made! I am a very tolerant person always looking for the best in anything. But I have to say, I hate both the washer and dryer. My clothes are faded, they shrink in the dryer even on delicate. I really cant say anything good about them. Today I washed 2 twin sheets, one king top sheet, and one very thin blanket. When I opened the washer, one twin sheet was on top and not even wet. So now I get to run another load and have to wait to remake my bed. When I have washed rugs on bulky, they are filled with soap when finished. Half the time, it doesnt spin out the water and I run a second and third spin cycle on a variety of items. I avoid doing laundry because it is so frustrating. I am retired so I cant afford to replace them. I just dont want anyone else to suffer the same frustrations!

We purchased this machine (Bravos XL top load washer) in August and its been nothing short of a disaster. It doesnt clean anything. Within two washes my cloth diapers were unusable, loaded with ammonia and stains. Our camping clothes wreaked of smoke. I tried multiple cycles, more detergent, less detergent, larger loads, smaller loads. Doesnt matter. It doesnt clean. I called customer service within a week and waited 6 weeks for a service call. Into third trimester of pregnancy and recovering from an MVA, I was washing soiled clothing by hand in bathtub desperate for help. I only wish Id known about their 30 day money back guarantee. After many calls, no shows and cancelled appointments, the first tech comes. He tells me the machine is fine. They just dont clean well. Hes not surprised. I call the appliance shop, they said the same thing. That they wouldnt have sold me the machine if they knew I had dirty laundry to wash. (Who washes clean laundry?). They wont help us. We call Maytag back. They send another tech. He says the same thing. Tells us to keep complaining to Maytag. I call again and they tell me that if I want a service tech, I have to pay. Theyve deleted all my feedback from their social media site and refuse to provide any assistance. The machine is nice looking and makes big promises but thats where it ends. Save your money. Youll get better results with your grandmas washboard.

Purchased a Maytag Dishwasher (Model MDB7749SBBO), total with tax $590.34 on 3/31/13. It wasnt a cheaper model, had stainless interior. Owning it after a 1-1/2 year, the Control Panel went bad. Maytag offered me for $267 for repairs and 1 yr warranty. Why thats about half the price I paid. My personal repairman told me the cost would be around $200 to replace the control panel. Why I could get a more inexpensive model for $300 and still get a year warranty. Very disappointed in Maytag quality of their product.

I mistakenly purchased the Bravo XL top load washer. I only wish I could give it a zero rating. I have only tried to wash 3 loads of clothes. It is almost beyond belief that anyone could possibly think this could clean anything. My husband actually watched it “work”, and insists I call Maytag because they must have forgot a part! It does nothing but crumple/wad the middle items together and rub them...and only them...together. There is no movement of the outer items until it spins. Maybe Maytag should enlist people who actually do laundry to “test” the items they put their brand on. I know the government and the energy rules have added to the complex problem of buying something as simple as a washing machine...but this piece of junk is almost laughable to watch as it destroys your laundry. I’m almost embarrassed to let anyone know I bought it. Thankfully, I have 30 days in which to return it.

I bought a Maytag washer and dryer at Lowe's when I bought my home-the price was great and I have not been disappointed in them-have had them over 3 years now. My washer has a stainless steel tup and is a top loader. The combo of the two was less than $1,000. The washing machine has deep clean, heavy load or light load, hot, warm or cool water settings, a hand wash setting and many other features that I think most consumers can appreciate.

Control panel broken for a second time in 23 months: I purchased a Maytag dishwasher less than 2 years ago at Home Depot. 11 months later, the control panel went out. Specifically, the start/cancel buttons stopped working. A service tech called me under warranty; the control panel was shipped to me, and the tech fixed it. He also told me that they had had numerous problems with the control panels.13 months later, the control panel went out; specifically, the start/cancel buttons stopped working (sounds familiar). I can get nothing from Maytag, except a demand for service fees or sales pitches for extended warranties (at a price that was half of what the dishwasher cost new). They also offered me the free part as long as I pay the service call fees. I told them to just to ship me the part and that Id do it myself. Nope. I must pay the repairman. Now, theyll ship me the part if I pay for it, but they wont ship me the free part. It only comes with a service call.Maytag also told me that there were no reports of problems with the start/cancel button, an obvious lie with a quick internet search. The customer service rep sounded like she knew I was getting treated badly and kept using the word policy. Her supervisor was much more cocky and made sure I knew that I wasnt getting anything from her company. They make horrible products, attach what once was a good name, provide zero customer service, and lie to your customers. Great business practices. I will never purchase a Maytag product again.

I have had my Maytag Bravo for 5 years now. I originally paid 1800.00 for the set. And yes that is without the tax. Well I also got a warranty. Three years after I purchased my set my dryer stopped drying my clothes. I called the warranty company for a repair man and lo and behold my warranty is over. The repairman came and said that my lint was backed up. He stated that it was a good thing that I called when I did because they have been known to catch on fire. I asked him how is this possible? I check my lint screen and clean it after every load. He stated that the lint falls off the screen and just settles at the bottom of the dryer. And sometimes the dryer will get so hot that it will actually set the lint on fire. He fixed it but now it is back to doing the same thing two short years later. Im thinking that Maytag must know about this now and I am wondering why they havent did a recall on these before someone gets hurt or even worse by trying to do laundry.

On March 2011, I purchased a Maytag dishwasher model #MDB7749AWB1. The dishwasher worked excellent for 16 months. One morning, with dishes loaded and ready to go, the start button would not light up. The other buttons did light up but that did me no good, I need the start button. A few days later, none of the buttons would light up. I found a repair person who said it would cost over $200.00 to make repairs. I refuse to put another penny with no guarantee that this new part would work. I wash two loads a week so has not been used that much and now it will not drain. I tried everything, canceled the cycle out, checked the circuit breaker, unplugged it, removed the clothing, bucketed out the excess water, tried the drain and spin cycle, etc. Just will not drain or spin. Repairman is coming next week... Still under first year warranty but if it is not the “fault” of Maytag I was told there will be a $90+ minimum service charge.

I will never buy another Maytag appliance. We built our home in 2005 and bought brand new Maytag kitchen appliances (refrigerator, gas oven/stovetop, dishwasher, and hood microwave). In seven years, we have had problem after problem with all four appliances. We had to replace the compressor in the refrigerator in the first 18 months and then the fan in the refrigerator about a year ago. We have had to replace the heating unit in the oven twice and the handle has broken off of the oven door twice. We have had to replace the handle latch on the dishwasher once and today, the microwave stopped working. We are not rough on our appliances (especially the microwave as we rarely use it), so I think the fact that every single Maytag appliance has broken down one to three times in different capacities in the last seven years says it all. We have had a very poor experience with this brand and will definitely never buy another Maytag appliance.

I purchased this washer in January 2017 at our local Home Depot here in Mexico. It was a washer/dryer combo. Now, in July, a mere 6 months and only a few wash loads later, it has gone from the worst machine I have ever owned to what I consider to be garbage material. First of all, it boasts about not using much water. This is true... Only 1/4 of your load is in the 3 inches of water at the bottom of the machine and the top 3/4 never even gets wet. I couldnt believe it. Now, I put 2 sheets in this morning and it fills almost to the point of spilling out, though I have to give it credit for shutting off the water before it actually did so. This is a NEW washing machine!!! I, along with a lot of other folks from what I am now discovering, are all in the same boat. I remember Maytag being a mark of excellence way back in the day... This is no longer the case. Stay away from this company... I know I will.

I purchased a Maytag washer-dryer combo in late July 2014. It wasnt until early August that we actually used the washer. It worked fine the first day, but the next day it would no longer fill. After following all of the troubleshooting instructions, I called Maytag to schedule a repair. They said they would locate an authorized tech to make the repair. I called back the next day and was informed that there was no repairman in my area and they would contact a service that contacts local repair techs. A few days later I called back to learn that they still could not locate a repair tech. I live near the New Mexico/Arizona border, and asked if a service tech could travel from Tucson, Arizona and was told that they could not cross state lines and, at that point there was nothing else they could do. They claim that I live in a remote area, but I reside near a major US Interstate (I-10). I will be filing a complaint with the BBB and my states Attorney General. It is now late October and all of my efforts have been ignored. I am totally disgusted with Maytags customer service.

Just got off the phone with Whirlpool Customer Care after getting the run around between parts and customer service for most of the morning. My issue is with the shelving on my MSF25D2EAS01 Maytag side-by-side refrigerator. The plastic surrounding the glass shelving is disintegrating and they are not admitting to a defective design only that the original part has been obsoleted and a new one is available for purchase (an over $300 expense to replace three shelves) on a unit that is just over 2 years old. I am willing to bet the old part has been replaced with a different design after they realized a substantial number of customer complaints. As an engineer, it is obvious to me that these shelves are poorly designed for their intended purpose, furthermore my work allows me to recommend appliance brands for large projects so I see no reason to recommend Whirlpool or any of its subsidiary brands (Kitchen Aid, Maytag, Amana, Jenn-Air) to any of our clients. Whirlpool quality and customer service is substandard and no better than any imported brand of appliances.

Come on people are you serious! Im talking about all those people who give this washer great reviews or even mediocre reviews. This washing machine sucks! Thank God for the glass lid so you can see how terrible it washes. No water in this thing. Clothes that sit on the edge of the bowl do not agitate enough to be washed if there was water in the wash cycle. Bleach that you use in your white wash cycle is left over and gets onto your colored cycle if you wash it the color cycle next. I ** you not, mark my words that stains are left on clothes even in a cycle that has lots of water in it. If you think Im high or crazy take a look at your local Home Depot or Lowes store. Check the area for washing machines that are for sale that have been used. You will find this Maytag Bravos XL machine there. They look good and are practically brand new and they will be there for weeks on and because people return them if they get lucky to return them. I called my store and they refuse to take it back and told me to call the manufacturer. I did just that... I called the manufacturer and they told me they can send out a serviceman to check the washing machine. Butt...and a big butt, if they find nothing wrong with the washing machine that I will be charged a service fee. Bunch of **! For all of us that get stuck with this pile of garbage we can thank the tree huggers for trying to save the world with low water consumption water washing machines.

We had a wonderful Bisque Maytag double oven in 2002. We bought new stainless appliances this year, and have been very disappointed with the range. Why do you have to hold the temp and timer settings one increment at a time to set it, and why do you have to push Start after that? Frequently we set the temp or timer and walk away, only to find that the oven or timer did not begin because we forgot the new step. When the timer goes off, you have to push it twice to get it to reset. The burners themselves have too many confusing pictures for the settings. What happened to low heat, medium and high and hash marks in between? The stove top itself is a nightmare to keep clean. Give me back my coil stove any day!!!

Wish there was some way to secure all dishwasher under the cabinets better. It tips forward slightly, but gets caught on counter top, so it won’t fall over. The dishwasher itself is truly amazing. I love the stainless steel inside. I ensure I use the dishwasher cleaner on hottest cycle once a month. I have no odors. Both racks hold up well and the silverware tray has never given me any problems. I even like the thin little third top rack, which is where I lay my larger flat knives or spatula. As long as I use the finish dishwasher cleaner, the dishes come out sparkling. And a few times I have forgotten to fill the finish container, the dishes still sparkle. My teenagers do the dishes a few times a week. They don’t wash them off ahead of time. On occasion I have to pick a few pieces of corn or food out of the bottom, but the dishes still sparkle and the leftover food caught on the drain, well it looks clean enough to eat. I would definitely buy it again.

This Maytag (1979 model) is about as good as other dishwashers (I always rinse before placing in machine). It does have a lot more buttons that are not used than the last one I used (installed in the 1950s). Delayed start, choice of preheating water or not, choice of drying. Not big enough to do everything when have company and too big to use when no visitors present. When I am alone it takes 3 months to get enough to fill the machine and by that time they are getting moldy so most of the time I wash by hand. Black glass front with imposing row of controls across the top. I normally do not generate enough dirty dishes to warrant having a dishwasher. I have always hated soft touch control panels so I purchased a Maytag Dishwasher with old style push buttons. IT DID NOT CLEAN THE DISHES, so Lowes took it back and I was convinced to UPGRADE to an MDB7749SBB0 and was told this machine was top of the line, although it was VERY temperamental from the start. I guess I should have done my homework. I see now several complaints about the control panels not working. I was told that MAYTAG was a very reputable company and that they stand behind their product. WRONG!. The company KNOWS these panels have problems and should replace them free of charge as it is obviously a defect. Nope, first they offer to send someone out (In a week) to repair it at $80 just to look at it and the panel is over $100 to replace, and when I complained they tried to sell me extra coverage for $250. REALLY? What is the purpose of purchasing a QUALITY dishwasher? I might as well purchase a cheap dishwasher and replace it when it breaks. I think you should be responsible for your product when you have several complaints on a specific part.

Home Depot said all appliances are special orders and can not be returned. I could contact Maytag and have someone come out and look at it for no charge. I contacted Maytag and they told me that they could have someone come out but if they decided it was just cosmetic, there would be nothing that could be done and I would be charged. Duck bill valve for defrost water from freezer malfunctions, water flows into freezer freezes, then eventually overflows onto floor. Huge problem for folks with wood floors. Also a slip/fall danger especially for the elderly. When the repair line is contacted, they deny the problem and say you are the only one. But if you do your research, you find there are hundreds of complaints and in November 2013 they issue a service bulletin, but its internal, not meant for consumers to find out. So if you have this problem, go to the Consumer Product Safety Commission and fill out a complaint. Maybe then something may come of it.

I purchased Maytag gas range in March 2011 at Home Depot, Model No. MGR5605WWO. I received the product in May 2011. The porcelain on the grates chips away leaving large grooves in grate, which affects cooking efficiency, (the fire burns erratically). First, I called 1-800-688-9900. The grates were replaced. And then same problem, it was replaced again, and again the same problem. The warranty to cover stove was extended by 6 months. The enamel on the round magnetic cover for the burner is also chipping away. I was told that this chipping of the enamel is a cosmetic problem and does not affect the functionality of the stove problem.A repair technician was sent out at my request to see firsthand the problem grates. I was told by him that if it occurred again, the manufacturer needs to be made aware of the defective grates. He noted that the enamel covering on the grates was not uniform. I have been told by Maytag supervisor today that she will get back to me within 3-5 days and let me know what is going to be done. I have had gas ranges before, but this is the first time this problem has occurred and its continuation is unacceptable. Is there anything further I can do to ensure I have stove grates that do not chip continuously?

We bought our Maytag Neptune washer in 2005. We chose Maytag because of their reputation, their headquarters in Michigan, and because looking at the machines in the store, they seemed to be well built. Were we ever wrong! You would think paying $1000 for a machine would get you a product that lasts longer than 8 years! Our other washer (a Whirlpool) lasted 20 years and was still working. Im now consistently getting a 3e error code. In searching online, I found that this is a pretty universal problem and thought maybe Maytag had a recall on it. What a waste of valuable time. I did find out the machine was actually a Samsung. This seems like fraud. If I wanted a Samsung, thats what I would have purchased! Contacting Maytag Customer Service was like Land of the Stupid. After getting the runaround and being sent to a phone number and website that only covered Samsung I called Maytag again. I was put in contact with another person who could supposedly help me with the recall. Even though I told him what the problem was, he gave me the robot response about sending the GFCI plugin and told me, That should make your washer safe to operate. Seriously??? I replied, This wont fix the problem because THE WASHER DOESNT WORK and we got the recall part long ago. He then wanted to schedule a repair appointment. Not doing that, considering how stupid the Maytag reps I had talked to so far had been. Putting the hubby on the case, luckily hes pretty handy. On the upside, it was fun responding to the Maytag customer service survey that night, LOL. All of our other appliances are Maytag and they have all been great, but this washer is an unreliable piece of junk.

I too am a victim of the faulty Control Panel that Maytag put on these dishwashers - Model # MDB7749SBM2. $149 for the part and another $149 for service call and labor - almost half the price of what I paid 2 years ago! Should have stuck with the 10 year old builder grade GE I had with the latch door and turn knob! I am in the market for a new stove and microwave - I will never buy another Maytag or Whirlpool product! When is Maytag going to make good to all the customers out there that have experienced the same issue? If yours breaks it is a very easy fix now that I know. You can order the part and it simply unplugs and plugs in the new one. All you have to do is take the door off and it is right there!

I have been reading the recent comments about the Maytag Bravo I purchased in 2011, and is sitting in my laundry room broken down. The timer wont advance past 18 minutes. I have reset it to factory default a number of times to no avail. I am very frustrated that the customer service offered an extended warranty for $319 to cover the service repair and another 1 years warranty. My washer is three years old! The warranty they offer is half the cost of the purchase price! The quality of this machine is very poor. I am truly disappointed with Maytag, who used to be a company you could trust. They have lost my trust along with my business.

I bought this stove thinking of the Maytag repair man commercial that was advertised on TV for washing machines. Apparently Maytag only knows how to make washing machines (I did not buy one of their washing machines after my experiments with their stove). From day one the oven door never closed right, the self cleaning oven device had to be replaced 3 times over the year after have a repairman tell me that they all fail. I stopped using the self cleaning feature. This stove has cost me so much in repairs. The cook top is very very hard to clean. It always looks dirty. All the plastic knobs have melted off because the oven door never closed right. And the knobs are crazy expensive to replace as is just about everything on this stove. The oven temperature can not be trusted never cooked at the temperature it was set at. I paid a lot of money for this stove 10 years ago. And I am finally able to replace it thanks to a Christmas present from my 3 children. I love to cook and this stove made it difficult. My advice is to look for a different company when buying a kitchen stove. This Maytag has been nothing but trouble for me.

MFI2568AES - Last night we woke up because of a noise coming due to continuous snapping of the waterline against the walls of the refrigerator as well as a wall of the house structure itself. Very loud noise. I pulled the refrigerator, went behind it, and shut off the waterline. That stopped the noise and allowed me to go back to sleep. However, need your help to resolve this issue. I will appreciate if you can offer me pointers and guidance.

Freezer leaks water all over the kitchen floor in front of this $1900 piece of garbage. My husband disconnected the water line (for in-door water and ice cube dispenser) and it STILL leaks water. I can vaguely remember a time when the purchase of a refrigerator (manufactured in the USA) wasnt necessary more than once or twice in the average persons lifetime. This Maytag refrigerator is our second french door fridge in 5 years. The last one was an LG that had a shoddily designed and manufactured compressor that sounded like a diesel engine idling in our kitchen. Of the two, this one is equally defective but doesnt wake the dead when the compressor starts. It has become glaringly apparent the Chinese practice something I refer to as Cargo Cult manufacturing. Google Cargo Cult and youll understand what I mean. Briefly, they manufacture products that APPEAR to be refrigerators, washing machines, ranges, etc. However, lack of quality control and zero competition from companies that provide a well-made, quality product that lasts more than a year or two allows and encourages these slobs to continue pumping out what appear to be appliances until the consumer plugs them in. Thats when the fun begins.

I positively HATE the new BravosXL Maytag washer, which has no decent agitator. It is ruining my clothes, as it spins with little water and leaves soap residue all over the clothes. Additionally it puts large, long wrinkles in my knits, especially disfiguring slacks. Maytag must have known how rough and ruinous this washer was on knits BEFORE selling it to an unsuspecting public! I want my money back in order to purchase an old-style, well-functioning agitator washing machine.A class-action suit should be brought against Maytag. There was no way to know before buying and using that this machine is horrible!!!

After 2 years and 1 month, the machine stopped spinning the clothes on any of the cycles. After attempting to use the spin cycle manually that stopped working. I called Maytag, my washer is out of warranty. After discussing the situation with knowledgeable appliance people, they said it is probably the motherboard. I know how expensive that is to repair and pay for a repairman to diagnosis the problem. I decided to purchase a new washer. Of course, it was not a Maytag. I read online all the people with same or similar problems left out of luck. This is an outrage and Maytag should not be allowed to get away with producing, selling and not standing behind the products. For families where people work in gardens, work on vehicles and get just plain dirty doing things anywhere outdoors these agitator-less machines are not for you or me. Ive had mine for two years and I truly dislike it (Model MVWC425BW1). With different products I scrub dirt and grease stains on pants before they are put into the washer, scrub again when they come out of the wash and then scrub and wash again a few more times but I cannot get all the dirt out. I now work more on laundry and harder since I got this machine. This agitator-less machine is designed for people who dont get really dirty - just remove everyday perspiration and household grime. I think this machine was designed by engineers who have never done daily laundry for any length of time and theoretically thought it would clean really dirty clothes. They were really wrong! Having done laundry for 50 years, I now know that an agitator cleans better. It would be nice if other women and I, who have done laundry for years, could be on focus groups about developing new washing machines.

I am fairly happy with this ranges performance. I do have a couple of issue
I am fairly happy with this ranges performance. I do have a couple of issues on the design. I would like to be able to simmer at a lower temp on a front burner, as I use a large stock pot and a pressure canner occasionally. The smaller BTU burners are on the back and the large pots do not fit over them. I havent noticed any problems with the upper ovens performance...seems to do what I ask it to, including the broiler. I have not tried the lower oven or the convection feature at all yet. Nor have I had to use the self-cleaning feature, yet...almost afraid to after reading other peoples nightmares, though. My biggest concern is the lack of safety with the knobs on the front of the stove top. Several times, the gas has been turned on by my cat simply walking across the front of the stove and stepping on a knob. This allows gas to leak until I notice. It happened again early this morning just before 4:00 am. I was awakened by a smell, which I thought was a dead mouse somewhere (we live in the country in a 100 year old house - mice do get in, thus the cats). I searched the whole house, looking for a dead mouse, until I finally walked into the kitchen and heard the hissing from the stove. Im glad I didnt try to light a candle while I was still thinking dead mouse! After turning off the gas and removing all of the knobs, I opened all the windows to let the house air out. I SHOULD NOT have to remove the knobs every time my stove is not being used! You do have to depress the knobs slightly to ignite the burners, but its too easy. Obviously, the simple act of a little cat putting its paw on the knob is enough to open the gas. This is a serious flaw that could kill someone! Something needs to be done to correct this before someone is killed or a house full of propane or natural gas is ignited and explodes!!! I will be reporting this to Maytag and hope that they will voluntarily issue a recall to have this problem fixed...Wish me luck.

Bought all stainless steel Maytag appliances when we remodeled our kitchen
Bought all stainless steel Maytag appliances when we remodeled our kitchen in 2010. French door fridge freezer broke down three times. First the fridge lost its temp and we lost our food. The freezer went into overdrive and froze the vodka solid. Second time massive ice build up in bottom of freezer so we had to constantly chip it away to keep door closed. Third time was a repeat of the fridge not working at all and the freezer going insanely cold. Sad to say, we have given up and bought another fridge freezer for $1,500, not a Maytag! On to the washing machine: a super duper top of the line expensive Maytag. At the end of last year it started to make disturbing jet engine noises in spin mode. It for worse and worse so I had a repair man come and take a look at it. He said it would cost over $700 to fix. Once again, we decided to cut our loses and buy another washing machine. I have saved all the paperwork including the repair bills for both appliances so Im good to go on the class action lawsuit.

My dishwasher like many others have mentioned is experiencing the same control panel issues. When I set it to Wash, it spontaneously goes to Rinse Only. I am unsure exactly the age, but given the number of complaints Ive read, with the same problem, it seems as though, there was a flaw many years ago in design and regardless of issues hasnt been resolved with the newer models either. I purchased my Maytag washing machine in June 2011 and within the first couple of uses, noticed that my clothes did not appear clean. I went back to Home Depot and complained and was told I had to use HE laundry detergent and I was. I gave it a while longer and still, nothing I washed ever seemed to come out clean. Sometimes, the fabric softener dispenser fills with water; other times the fabric softener remains in the dispenser. The machine makes very loud clunking noises during the wash cycle. I purchased the Maytag MDB7749SBM dishwasher just over 2 years ago. After owning for 1.5 years, the control board malfunctioned. After discussions with Maytag customer service that began in late December 2014, it was finally repaired in February 2015, with the control board being completely replaced. Within just a few months the dishwasher again fails. The first time, it would not stop running. This time, it will not run at all. I called customer service today (August 1, 2015) and they expect me to pay for the repair. It is easy to Google and find multiple review sites that indicate hundreds of consumers have similar problems, but Maytag will not acknowledge any issue, as the customer service rep indicated today (she said her information showed no recalls). Within two years I am now faced with paying $600+ for a dishwasher for a second time. This is terrible customer service on Maytags part. They have lost my business and I am warning consumers on every platform I have.
