We purchased our Maytag Bravos XL last month and within two weeks, we were noticing a BAD odor every time we used the machine. In fact, I just walked back into our house from outside and the entire house smells like old dirty dishwater and the smell is coming from the laundry room! This is a very expensive washing machine and we bought it because we thought that a Maytag would be better than the Whirlpool that just died after many years of repairs and aggravation. After reading these reviews, I wish I had bought a Speed Queen.

Bad decision, Purchased in 2013 a Bravos by Maytag. After 3 years, it sounds like a jet engine taking off. The bearing is failing, sad as Maytag advertises to be the best. In 35 years, this is our 4th washer, actually the 1st was a hand-me-down that lasted longer. Unfortunately, we thought spending more and believing that Maytag would last longer was a mistake. Cost to repair is over half of the cost, so we have elected to run to fail. Then replace the Maytag that should have lasted at least 10 years. Warning. Purchase at your own risk. DO NOT buy this machine or any by Maytag, could be the same results. Or it could be that they are manufactured under Lowes specifications. From all the complaints the Maytag repair technicians are working, not setting around as they advertise. Only blaming myself for the purchase.

Ive had the dishwasher model MDBH979SAB0 for about 3 years now. A few months ago I noticed the faceplate would pop out when you opened the dishwasher. I would have to pop it back in. The dishwasher was out of warranty so I decided to attempt to fix it. I took the faceplate off to realize all of the plastic tabs that screws go in to were snapped off. The only fix for this is a complete new panel from Whirlpool Parts Online to the tune of $194.17 (W10811169).The wheels also fall off the bottom rack. The push pin plastic becomes brittle over time and does not stay in the assembly. To replace the wheel assembly (there are 4 in total) is $38.18 each (W10195416V). The wheels or push pins cant be purchased separately. Both of these items are not covered under warranty past 1 year. Maytags 10 year warranty only covers the upper and Lower Racks (excludes cup shelf and silverware basket), chopper blade and stainless steel tub and inner door liner. So only a small percentage of the parts. The design of the faceplate is defective in that too much force is applied to the faceplate when opening the unit. The handle is integrated in to the faceplate. The plastic used becomes brittle over time and breaks. The panel unit (W10811169) must be replaced in entirety rather than just its housing increasing the cost of repair. To have this failure occur within the first 3 years of use is very premature. I can only assume if I repair the dishwasher I will have the same problem again. I am considering buying a new model that is designed better and comes with a longer warranty on such parts.

We purchased a front loading Maytag washer in January of 2011. We purchased an extended service plan in January of this year. I noticed a very loud noise and inappropriate operation during the spin cycle. I called the service plan, who contacted a repair service to come out and check my machine. I was told that there was a major problem that would be very expensive to fix and that the Assurant company would contact me in a few days. The company called and said that they would give me 75% of the value of the machine ($650) because fixing it was not economically feasible. I said that I did not want the money; I wanted the repair that I was guaranteed by my service contract. They referred me to the small print on the back of the sales letter. When I asked about any manufacturers warranty from Maytag (the washer was less than 2 years old), I was told that they had nothing to do with the manufacturer and I had to take that up with them. When I tried to call Maytag, they were decidedly unhelpful and referred me back to Assurant. There are several issues related to this event that I wish to complain about: 1) How dare a major company sell a thousand-dollar appliance that becomes unrepairable in less than 2 years and take no responsibility for the breakdown? There was obviously a defect in the machine that took over a year to show up (we are a household of 2 adults and did not overuse the machine). 2) How could a service contract issued under the Maytag name not be aware of parts covered by the manufacturer? 3) Should not the buyer of a service contract bearing the Maytag name be informed that it is not Maytag (the manufacturer) that is guaranteeing the product, but a third party?4) Should not the seller of a service contract be required to display the terms of the contract in a prominent place? The sales letter specifically states Repair or replace - If we cant repair your appliance due to a mechanical or or electrical breakdown, well replace it. The limits of coverage are in fact given in small print at the back of the letter and are on the contract, but this contradicts what is displayed prominently on the promotion letter. This is false advertising and should not be tolerated.

Fridge Model MFF2258VEB6 - Our refrigerator is less that 2 years old and it wont make ice! The bottom of freezer is filled with water that froze. Everyday there is water on the floor. We asked at Home Depot where we purchased it and they said we need to change the filter. What filter? The owners manual is a joke. We cant figure out where the filter is located so it looks like we have to pay money to have someone come look at this. Hey, this is ridiculous. I thought Maytag had a good reputation and thats why we bought ALL Maytag appliances two years ago! Never again!

I purchased this gas range from Home Depot in 2011. From the beginning I had problems with the cooking racks slipping off the oven wall. In some instances hot liquids poured on the oven floor. I had bought a service contract on this product and when I asked that this be repaired I was told that it was not covered as it was a design flaw. The condition has slowly worsened and now I cannot cook anything in the oven for fear of the racks falling down. This is a safety feature and the oven should be replaced my Maytag.

I purchased a Maytag (as Maytag was always rated the Best) and from the start was not happy with the product. I contacted Maytag (Whirlpool, the makers of Maytag) and was told to get stains out, you had to pre-soak and scrub the area... really? Then I might as well just hand wash all of my clothes and hang to dry. I would not need a washer. My clothes do not come clean at all. DO NOT PURCHASE A MAYTAG (or I think any washer Whirlpool makes as they do not back their products).Prior to this, I had a Whirlpool washer with agitator and loved the washer. Clothes were always clean, and I did not have to pre-soak stains for them to come clean. Go Figure! I have never been so disappointed in a washer or company. I am now looking to purchase a new washer as I have had it with this one... and it wont be a product made by Whirlpool.

My Maytag MDB7749SAW0 Dishwasher starting acting up after around the first year. The lights on the Control Panel began to flash uncontrollably and it will run all day while I am at work. I called Maytag and they were nice but did not repair it because the warranty just ran out. The person on the phone said that it is a common problem with knob-less dishwashers, the humidity causes problems with the control panel. The cost to repair was over $300 to replace the control panel.

The refrigerator is not keeping cold. The freezer is full of frost/ice. I had this fridge looked at twice in the past. Its about 6-7 years old.In the past, Maytag was considered a high end product. I wonder where the manufacturing is taking place for most of the parts. Could be it was cheaper to go overseas and now we are all paying for unacceptable products.I will never purchase Maytag. I purchased a Maytag refrigerator, stove, dishwasher and microwave in 2006.
I purchased a Maytag refrigerator, stove, dishwasher and microwave in 2006. Like another commenter, I also insisted on all Maytag appliances. What a huge disappointment. About four months into owning the microwave, a computer module had to be replaced. The microwave stopped working about six weeks out of warranty. It just stopped working, period. I was told by Maytag that they consider microwave a disposable product and they would not cover the repairs. It was cheaper to buy a new one than repair the old one so I replaced it with another brand. The dishwasher failed after 4.5 years (would not drain) and again it was cheaper to replace it than fix it. The oven range handle broke off (normal use) in August 2011 and that cost me approximately $200 for the part and the service call. The refrigerator has had two service calls for the ice maker to replace the motor. The first was covered by Maytag, the second by me. This occurred when the unit was approximately three years old. In August 2011, I had another $90 repair because the ice maker drain (?) was plugged and had to be cleared fixed. I have never been able to pay what I paid for these appliances. Prior to this, we always purchased a middle-range appliance and we never had problems like this.I will never purchase another Maytag product again. This is so disappointing. I live in MI and I wanted to support a MI business. Unfortunately, I wont be able to help out this particular company any longer. Dont buy Maytag appliances. It is a waste of money.

We purchased our Maytag Refrigerator brand new, about 18 months ago. It always ran loud so the repairman came out during the 12 month warranty period. He told us to unplug and reset it, but that never did the trick. Eight months later, the fridge stopped cooling. We called our local repairman and he told us ($97 later) that the compressor was out. He said we should contact Maytag because the compressor should be under a 5-year warranty. Then the nightmare began. I spoke to four different reps with a total hold time of about 2 hours. Two of the reps put me on hold to get a supervisor and/or consult another rep and I was mysteriously cut off each time. One rep told me my compressor wasnt covered under warranty. The last rep I spoke to told me it was covered and he scheduled a Maytag repairman to come and replace the compressor. I was thrilled. The repairman came out and informed me that the compressor was indeed out and handed me a bill for $137. I asked why I was being billed and he said because that was the way that Maytag had ordered the service call. I told him that the Maytag rep had assured me that Maytag was covering the repair. He apologized and said that not only was I obliged to pay for the diagnosis (which I didnt need because I had already paid my local guy for the same information), but that it would cost $900 to replace the compressor. I was flabbergasted. I called Maytag and they denied all responsibility. They said that even though the rep had assured me of Maytags commitment to replace the compressor under the 5-year warranty, he had made a mistake and I wasnt actually covered. So I paid our local repairman to replace the compressor, because by that time, we had been living out of ice chests for 2 weeks. That was 3 weeks ago. Now the unit is freezing water on the bottom of the freezer and then leaking water on the floor. It is unconscionable that this company be allowed to defraud people to this extent. I will never buy a Maytag again and I would like to be informed of any class action suit. This company should be deeply, deeply ashamed of itself.

I bought a Maytag dishwasher, stove and refrigerator and the dishwasher was a problem from the beginning. Repaired out twice and replaced the control panel. Seasonal residence, so the start of year 2 (this week) the control panel goes a third time. Its going to cost $387 to repair (told my elderly mother) and it turns out it was a warranty program that she purchased, not a repair estimate. She was misled as she called Maytag and they transferred her to a warranty company, and once again Maytag says theres nothing they will do. Now, Im hassled with cancelling that as well. I called Maytag and they dont stand behind their lemon of a product and said there is nothing they can do because its out of warranty (even though theyve been out twice to fix it). Do not buy a Maytag product. This is the first complaint Ive every written and I am just shocked that Maytag doesnt stand behind their product. I purchased my 10kg commercial Maytag dryer in March 2015 and started using it in May 2015. Within two months the heater had broken. I contacted the people I bought it off and it turned out I had to contact Whirlpool. It took them 8 weeks to get my dryer going again. The dryer broke down again in November. This time it was a sensor. Again I had to contact Whirlpool, it took them three weeks to get it going again. Being a care home the dryer is essential to our business. We were led to believe when we took out the extended warranty that the dryer would be fixed within a week. I will never purchase a Maytag again or anything to do with Whirlpool.

I was repairing this Maytag Maxima washer and was almost electrocuted. I simply grabbed the wrong screws which were too long for the door switch, one screw went through into the open/close switch and contacted voltage, thus causing a direct short to the chassis and me. It also damaged my control board (the most expensive one in the industry), now Im out an extra $220 because Whirlpool made an engineering error. A screw should not be located so close (millimeters) to a voltage source where a simple mindless mistake could cause electrocution and possibly death. As for the washers operation, the drain pump failed after just two years, it sometimes leaks water out the front because debris gets into the boot drain back holes. It smells like mildew even though we leave the door open, my clothes stink, Affresh is costly and really doesnt help much. It does a decent job of cleaning, not as good as the old top loaders but it saves water. I think next tax return time this machine goes up for sale and we get a better machine.

I bought a Maytag dishwasher from Home Depot in February 2012, $700. After a few months, the buttons stopped working and the machine was unresponsive. I called Home Depot and they fixed it under the warranty. This continued to happen every 2-3 months. After a year of dealing with this, the warranty expired and I had to purchase the manufacturer extended warranty with Maytag, $240 for 5-years of coverage. The problem continued, and every few months, the thing would stop working and I would have to call for service - 2 to 4 weeks without a dishwasher waiting for service appointment then parts and another appointment for the repair.Perhaps my machine was just a lemon. I dont think they make that model anymore. Heres the number so that you can avoid a three year headache of a machine, MD87749 AWM2. I will say that after MANY agonizing phone calls with warranty company, after 2 years of ongoing service calls, they eventually issued me a check to replace my lemon.

This machine was in best machines of 2019/2020. It has many features. Ive had one day and have multiple concerns, I will be returning the machine. The dryer isnt great either. Had multiple loads not dry. On the washer, there is no interior light so you cant actually see items in washer to judge soap etc. Has a soap disp that is supposed to hold multiple loads, says 8. Ive washed over 8 and the out of soap alert hasnt come on as youd expect, but when I check the dispenser is full of water so who knows! Cant see inside so I have so way of knowing if there is soap that is still going in, should I add more or what? The alert bell is too quiet, cant hear outside of the laundry room. Multiple loads have not spun out well, leaving standing water and clothes too wet for dryer. Ive had to run a drain/spin cycle to get clothes spun out. It is supposed to connect to wifi but that hasnt been successful, plus, not everyone keeps a phone on them 24/4! Need a louder alert. I washed a sm item that threw it off balance. My LG washed a small floor mat with no issues. I do a significant amt of research before a LG purchase and I feel I was lead astray. I am not happy with this washer or dryer. I wanted to buy American made but this is not up to the standard I expected from Maytag.

My husband and I bought a Maytag 3000 series front-loading washer in 2009. In either December of 2014 or January of 2015 it broke down. We had a repairman come out. The inner and outer tubs and a bearing needed replacing. He said it would be expensive and some of the parts were no longer available. In his opinion he hated these new machines as they were nothing but problems. Next we contacted our dealer whom we bought it from. He contacted Maytag himself, then he gave us telephone number to speak with. He no longer carries this brand because of problems and said our washer was no longer made because of problems. So we call, spoke with several supervisors in customer experience. They offered half off another washer of similar value on Maytag or whirlpool brand. Maybe Im being difficult but I didnt plan on buying a new washer after 5 1/2 years. When I and my husband ask to speak to next person in chain of command we were told there wasnt one. Really!!! I liked that they were for extra large loads however now that Ive had them for 12 years I know the large loads are no more than my old Kenmore washer and dryer. I have to pour a bit of water on the clothes so the sensor thinks it’s a heavy load and do an extra rinse. And I saw that on a video regarding this washer trick. But I’m wasting more water cause I have to rearrange the clothes when done. I put the top ones on the bottom and start over. To me it’s a waste of effort sometimes I just go to the laundromat. We waited almost a month for the parts to come in just to have the technician say that didnt fix the problem. We have been waiting a 1.5 months for a resolution with nothing in sight. Now we have to either way another TWO months for another part, buy a new washer and get refunded for the old one (but WE would be responsible for the almost $300 price difference it now is), or wait for a new washer to come in stock and Maytag will replace it. The Maytag Bravos washing machine (Model No. MVWB75OWQ1 Type 580) is the worst Ive ever owned. The low water level obviously is not sufficient to clean the clothes as the clothes come out still dirty. I pre-treat stains carefully and follow all of the directions and 9 times out of 10, my clothes come out with the stain still there. The clothes never smell clean. In fact, they have an odor. My t-shirts still have a smell of BO under the arms and some of my clothes still smell like my perfume. They just arent clean. I feel like we put our dirty clothes in this machine and they agitate around in a little pool of water for an hour and they come out still dirty. The machine frequently gets off balance and shuts down too. If I had the money to trash this one and go buy another one - Id do it in a heartbeat. We had Maytag brand washer and dryers in the past. They worked for years and I was able to repair or replace switches and some parts on my own. The new Bravos XL is a very inferior machine, nothing but problems. The clothes have to be washed two or more times to make them clean. There is no agitator, so your clothes have only other clothes to scrub up against, and the spin cycle is just thumping and banging and thrashing around until you’re able to get in and rescue it from itself. Our older machines had tiny steel shot in the rim of the machine to keep it balanced. Don’t buy this machine ever!!!

When purchasing a microwave for our kitchen the Maytag MMV4203DB00 had all the functions I wanted. Just after a year its quite cooking. The fan would still run but not heat anything. I called Maytag and was told basically, tough luck. I said something about Maytag, that it was supposed to be a great brand and should last longer than 1 year. The part to fix it plus labor was going to cost nearly as much as a new microwave to replace it. Now, the microwave has started to turn on by itself. Customer service was very rude and came off with a we dont really care attitude. I will never buy Maytag again.

I am at my wits end, as I try to get some satisfaction for the fact that this stoves cleaning system does not work! We purchased this stove at Home Depot in Hadley Massachusetts on February 2, 2014, and it was installed in a seasonal cottage that we were having renovated. When we arrived at our cottage in May, I was delighted with the stove. The cook top performed well and the oven size was great. During the summer, we tend to grill outside so the oven didn’t get much use, but it perform perfectly every time I used it. I always remove any debris that may have spilled immediately, and didn’t see any need to user the AQUA Clean feature until we were getting ready to leave in October. When I ran the cleaning system as recommended in the manual, there was a stain on the bottom of the oven. I then ran it eight (8) more times with the same result.I called the service number and they scheduled a service technician to come for a visit. He said that the stove was working the way it was designed to and unfortunately since it really didn’t get hot enough to do the job, the stain (and with more use, more stains) would remain. He also noted that should I try oven cleaning products, my warranty would be voided. This was not the answer I was hoping for, but since his visit was on the day before we were heading South for the winter there was not much I could do.Have called the service number several time since then, asking what could be done to rectify this problem with no positive responses. One did say that they could send the service tech again and went so far as to schedule an appointment for January, which she suggested I postpone with the technician until we return in May. The reasoning being is that since the warranty is only for a year, and the cottage won’t be opened until May, the fact that the original appointment was within the warranty period would cover the cost of the visit. When the technician called a few days later, the scheduler said that it made no since to go again, unless Maytag came out with a fix for the cleaning system. Since it’s not broken, but just does not work. I again spoke with a service rep and asked if anything could be done or if I could speak to a supervisor, she said that one would call.. That was weeks ago and still no call.We purchased this stove with the hope that it would last for many years, especially since it is only used for five months of the year. Ease of cleaning the oven is important. Home Depot no longer sells this model, and after some searching the internet I have found that I am not alone with this issue. Apparently it is quite common. We will not be able to access the cabin until May 2015, but would appreciate anything you can do to expedite a replacement of this stove, with one that actually self-cleans or a refund.

Maytag Bravo Washer and Dryer - We are usually review writers. I just felt it was our duty to help others save their hard-earned dollars and not purchase this product. We have owned this expensive and highly researched set for a bit over 2 years. We have had to have repairmen out a half dozen times for dryer repairs. The washer was purchased with the largest tub because I wanted to be able to wash a full load of sheets or a blanket. NOT!!! It gets off balanced, twists every single item (as in blue jeans, towels, soft t-shirts, etc...any weight or size) into a huge mess and has actually ruined some of my clothing. The dryer gives me error messages all the time. I am beyond words with my disappointment. We saved a long time for this set and now are absolutely stuck for a long time before we can replace. You know Maytag my message to you is that hard-working people used to trust your company name. I have been married 43 years and we keep our purchases for many years. I have never in all these years been so disappointed in the huge purchase we made thinking it was a lifetime investment. Now I am doing everything I can to save this year so maybe can replace it down the road as soon as we can. I am telling you people reading this... DO NOT BUY THIS SET. IT IS A TOTAL WASTE OF YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY.

Just replaced a washer that lasted over 7 years thru 3 renters with the Bravos top loading washer. There is nothing efficient about a cycle to take 73 mins to wash 20 articles of clothing (t-shirts, socks and underwear). The machine dont wash the top of the load. Also the deep clean feature isnt deep cleaning. I recorded a video of 20 mins of the machine not washing properly before going into rinse cycle. If this item dont produce refunds of the amount of water wasted RE-WASHING and electricity because it doesnt clean on first wash, then its time for Maytag to pay my utilities. For the money spent on the machine, going to the laundromat every other week with 1 roll of quarters each trip comes to be I can wash for 4 years and will outlast the longevity of the machine before it breaks! Also bulky mode is how you get more water in the machine but will take 63 mins to wash.

I bought a Maytag dishwasher MDB7749AWM1 in May of 2011. Yesterday, the on button would not work, so I called a serviceman out from Maytag. He said the whole panel needs to be replaced, parts and service will cost me $240.00. What a shame. 2 months out of warranty. I had two previous Maytag dishwashers, lasted for years with no problem. The newer models are junk, do not buy them! I can see by the other complaints that they had the same problem. They do not stand behind their product. I wonder how long the new panel will last? Im done with Maytag products!

We have had the same problem as everyone else. We have the freezer on the bottom model. It started when the fridge was less than a year old, with water on the floor and ice buildup on the bottom of the freezer. Since then we have needed to have same repairman come at least 4 times because the top part suddenly gets very warm, food spoils, and water accumulates under the produce drawers. Our repairman has told us that newer models have improved design, but that doesnt help us. This fridge is now about 3 years old, bought it at Home Depot. This is unacceptable.

I thought I was nuts - only 2 of water in a full machine of bedding or clothes. I agree with all the other one star remarks - clothes still dirty, still dry, hardly any water and if you use the bedding selection, it takes nearly 2 hours to wash a load and then it doesnt spin dry so you have to rinse and spin again. Very disappointed with the machine. Yes - class action lawsuit? How do we do this.

Purchased my microwave in 2005 and seldom used it. However in the last few months, the halogen light which lights up the range surface has been flickering. When I asked an electrician doing other work around my house to repair it, he discovered that the halogen light is attached with a dual pin socket which is plastic. When the halogen light gets overheated (and halogen produces alight of heat) it melts the plastic. It has already melted some of the plastic socket. When it fails to operate, I will have to repair the light socket which will be very expensive or buy a new microwave. This microwave cost $800 or more because it offered convection cooking which I have seldom used. This is what is presumed quality appliance? Plus I added the cost of an extended warranty.

I bought a Maytag Bravos XL washer in 2017 for around $800 which suddenly stopped working about 1.5 weeks ago. The console wont turn on. I filed a service request on Maytags website which results in Maytag subcontracting the job to a local appliance servicing company. About 10 days later the appliance tech shows up to my house. I had to pay $125 to the service company for the technician just to show up. After, he tinkers with the machine and 5 minutes later gives me a quote totaling $789.07. Of that amount the parts component was $482.09. He told me that the computer was bad. I was appalled. This was a 2.5 year old well kept washer. I called Maytag company next day to see if they could at least cover the parts cost. Especially as I have a large family with 3 kids plus elderly family members. After waiting 33 minutes on the phone, the CSR took all the appliance info and tried to see if she could get Maytag to cover the parts cost, given my situation. After about 5 minutes, she told me that Maytag declined my request- quoting that my appliance did not have any warranty and that the notes on the computer regarding my appliance indicated that it was field scrap. Field scrap?? Really? This was an appliance that was bought at Home Depot. This is the lowest of lows that this company (Maytag/Whirpool) can stoop. For a billion dollar company, that are advertising their products as Made in America, they have no heart and no empathy for their customers. They build sub-standard products comprising of cheap parts so that their products only last a few months, then they try to sell you their sub-prime warranty services that are full of holes. And for those poor souls that dont sign up for their warranty services, God help them if their appliance breaks down. They are then left to deal with Maytag/Whirpools appliance service vulture contractors which in tandem with Maytag conspire to squeeze every last cent out of hard working Americans (Especially during these trying times).Just to compare my situation. My parents bought LG washers and dryers in 2008 which remain in full working operation to this day (12 years in operation). The Maytag Bravos broke down in 2.5 years. Use my experience as a lesson. Do yourself a favor and save yourself the headache and heartache. DO NOT, I mean DO NOT purchase or support Maytag/Whirpool appliances. You are better off spending your money with LG or Samsung.

I purchased the subject Maytag washer (MHWE201YW-3.5 CU FT WHT FRNT LD WSHR) from Home Depot in December of 2012. I got exactly 1 year of use and then the washer stopped working. I called the Home Depot repair person who came and repaired the unit. The repair lasted two weeks and the washer stopped working again. Because the unit was no longer under its 1-yr warranty the Home Depot repair person was not available for repair. Another independent Maytag repair person came and evaluated to problem. He said the computer which is located on the motor was no good and to the tune of over $400.00 (parts and labor) a new motor was purchased and installed. It lasted two months and it quit working again. After several months I was finally able to contact the original Home Depot repair person for one visit. He said he would check the code message and get back to me. I never heard from him again. I have been taking my laundry to the laundromat ever since and it is getting expensive. I dont want to spend another $400 on this machine as it will only break again. What do you recommend?

Maytag centennial washing machine - I am pretty good as a mechanic or this machine would sit unused. Purchased in 2/15 at lowes. Poor installation. Then the machine... I hooked it up properly and ran it with extra load setting to see the machine develop a life all its own. The sheet metal breathed in and out like the chest of an old man running uphill. Lower exit hose not properly installed leaked on floor so I put on a new adjustable clip. Machine can only handle small loads. While it does wash clothes (it is a washing machine!) it requires close supervision in size of load. The machine needs a plumbing bang pressure gauge or you are likely to blow out your water pipes. It sounds like there are a bunch of people walking the machine with ball peen hammers. Who cares, but they were made in America and moved to Mexico. They should need visas to get back in. Absolute junk.

My Maytag (MER7662XQ) oven has stopped working after barely 6 months of use. I filed a warranty-repair complaint and reported the error codes shown: F1 (faulty touchpad) and F3 (faulty temp sensor). Although Maytag promptly sent a repairman, he arrived without parts and left within 5 minutes without fixing anything. He said he would order parts. Whenever they were delivered to us, by mail, we should call again to schedule another repair. But he warned he was prohibited from coming out for another 7 days. So far, Ive been without an oven for almost 3 weeks and there has been no action or information. My calls to Maytag produced nothing, except confirmation they show the repair as open since they do not actually distribute parts, and the repairman is with an outside company. A terrible product and a worse service! I would not ever buy another Maytag product and recommend that no one else does either.

I purchased this oven in April 2015. I have had nothing but problems with the unit. The temperature is off. I have had the probe replaced in July and will be done again next week (January 26, 2016). The AquaLift self-cleaning feature does not work. I ran the self-cleaning feature about 8 times and back to back on several occasions. The service providers stated that it really doesnt work and there is nothing they can do about it. The front of my oven, above the vent, is stained from the oven exhaust. They said there is nothing they can do about that either. The last service company that came out for a service call to check the oven temperature came without the proper tool to check the temperature and ended up snapping the propane line. I was given 6 month of a free extended warranty for my inconvenience and told that the company does not replace models. They will continue to come out and repair them. I will never buy another Maytag appliance again.

I purchased a Maytag Top Loader Washer MVWX500XL last May 2011 from Home Depot to replaced our 15-year old GE washing machine. Two weeks ago, it started making horrible noise like a jet engine taking off during spin cycle. I called in the Maytag repairman and was told that the bearing is gone and it will cost $ 493.00 to repair it. He claims that the damage is caused by not using HE detergent exclusively and he refused to leave us a written estimate. We are only three adults in our household and we do our laundry once or twice a week. For this machine to be repaired only after 2 1/2 years of light service and for almost the same cost as a new one, I will never buy another Maytag/Whirlpool products ever again and I will encourage everyone the same.

Washer would stop right after it started. I googled the problem and found out it was a bad lock. These Bravo XL units were purchased in 2015. Called an appliance repair and they charged me $250 to replace the lock (service call was $98.00 and labor was $90). The repairman left and I started the washer. There was a loud sound coming from it. I called the repairman back and he said it was the gear case and basket. He said the basket was covered under the warranty but the gear case wasnt. Would be about $750 to fix....no way was I paying the cost of a new washer to fix this less than 4 yr old one. I called Maytag. They couldnt help me. Model MDB7749SBM1, Complete FALSE ADVERTISEMENT and GARBAGE. Let me explain. Maytag clearly claims this dishwasher is stainless steel on the inside and out... FALSE, BOGUS CLAIM. Please check for yourself, tried a magnet to it everywhere and the magnet stuck everywhere. I have had this dishwasher for 15 months. The keypad frequently stuck. When I called Maytag, they told me if its usable, there is no defect. 15 months after purchase and 3 months after WARRANTY ran OUT on Thanksgiving Day with 25 guest. The keypad finally quit for good. I called the Friday afterward and was told no service for a week. I called and received local service but they told me it would need a keypad, which I waited to call on Monday since Maytag is closed on weekends how ironic. I was told they wont cover anything since a certified person didnt come out even though nothing was ever fixed and they blatantly lied to the consumer. Tried to sell me an extended service plan. I bought this machine because it has a (deep water wash), which means there is a lot of water, enough to cover the clothes, at least I thought so, the salesman seemed to think so as well! But no, it does not come close to covering the clothes, false advertising! I must put my clothes in a large bucket, soak the clothes with water, then bring the bucket to the washer and empty it into it, because of the weight of the water, the machine adds almost enough water to cover the clothes.Another big problem with this washer is the fact that if I lift the top in mid-wash, while I do something, not wanting to listen to the irritating sound it makes in my apartment, after 10 minutes it starts to drain and there is no way to stop it, I must wait until it completely drains and restart the machine. This machine has the stench of government on it!!! My advice, keep your old machine.

At 36 months old, my Maytag refrigerator has already suffered from a Freon leak. After repair, the leak continued causing the fridge not to produce ice. After another Freon charge 7 days later, the fridge will freeze ice only in a manual ice tray. The water in the ice maker for whatever reason will not freeze? To make matters even worse, the freezer fan has been noisy for the last year. Maytags solution is to purchase extended warranty for $300 plus or hire repair person at $100 for first hour. A 36 month old refrigerator is in essence a disposable item. Basically for a $700 fridge… that breaks down to about $20.00 per month service charge and then it’s time to replace!

Purchased this Whirlpool made Maytag Stainless Steel dishwasher Feb 2013. By Jan 2017 the washer was no longer operational. Due to poor factory design the touch pad wiring harness was crushed during the initial assembly. The harness is routed behind the touch pad/pull handle faceplate in the door. The factory design provided no clearance for the harness. Obviously after little use (opening and closing of the door) the pinched portion of the harness behind the pull handle becomes compromised causing the ELECTRICAL SHORT.I phoned Whirlpool the maker of the Maytag Stainless Steel Dishwasher for assistance, all they offered was a repair plan in excess of $300.00. I purchased this supposedly quality American Made Whirlpool product as well as a range, microwave, washer and dryer in the spirit of supporting US labor. Now Im stuck with a dishwasher that has an ELECTRICAL SHORT, possibly a FIRE HAZARD and Whirlpool trying to milk me for more money. Having had a household for over 40 years we have had a few washers come and go. I hate to say it but this line of washers should go. Worst pile of junk parts I have seen. Bought it from Costco a few years ago based on past histories of Maytags. Was I ever so wrong. It has never worked well. I chalked it up to being Water Efficient but after reading over 8 pages of scornful reviews, I was mistaken. Water level is always too low to do anything so clothes are needing rewashed. Have reverted to using the Bulky setting to do general washing as that fills the tub about 1/4 of the way. Then the spin cycles stops due to unbalanced load and loud banging of the wash drum, EVERY LOAD!!! And now for the past month Code DL pops up saying it is taking too long to drain. I have checked all hoses for blockages, none seen. And with the glass top, you can SEE the washer NOT WORKING right. We have a door on the laundry room and even with it closed the volume is over 70 dB and can overpower most conversations in our family room 20 feet away. I have been told that Costco may take it back but why punish Costco members for a design failure of Maytag??? Has anyone thought about a Class Action Lawsuit? The Bravos Quiet Series 400 dryer match to this washer has so far been flawless. I may have to dig the 20 year old Whirlpool washer out of the storage shed to replace this Maytag. Sad. I want to state my true feelings but I will not use profanity here.

Save yourself time and money!

Maytag, you are still trading on your good name but that will not last! I owned a Maytag, agitator style, for 20 years and it was still running just fine when we built a new house. I thought it would be wise to buy new appliances for my new laundry room so I chose the beautiful and expensive Maytag Bravos XL. I regret that decision. The washer lasted 4 years and began to have problems draining last week. The liquid that stayed in the washtub until the repairman could get here was so foul smelling! He came back today to replace the drain pump and now the washer is showing that the interface and CCU are not communicating. So now we are ordering another CCU and I hope this fixes the problem. I agree with all of you who say you will NEVER buy another Maytag again. Maytag, are you listening?

Was very happy with choice when it arrived. Bought October of 2010. Now, this summer, nothing but problems. Honestly weekly cleaning of vents underneath, sheets of ice in freezer, refrigerator not staying cool, constant frost plugging areas, and no more ideas of how to make it work. I already quit with Kenmore after terrible problems with their appliances and now when Maytag doesnt stand up for years what are we supposed to buy? I purchased a Maytag Bravos 500 Series HE washer. 3/2013. The machine sensor started giving problems less than 2 years after purchase. The sensor is not working. The wash lights stays on, and the clothes are not cleaned. I have to manually turn the dial to put in on the rinse cycle and then turn the dial to the spin cycle. Its a piece of junk. I called Maytag twice and the only thing the representatives on the phone say: I will send a certified technician to see whats the problem. Price: $129.00 service call and additional costs for labor, parts, etc. Maytag had a very good reputation for its products. Will never buy anything Maytag or any products that fall under that brand.

I purchased my Maytag MDB7749AWM2 dishwasher approximately 3 years ago. Since it was stainless inside and out I felt that I was making a long-lasting purchase. The handle on this particular model doesnt have a latch release button. You are actually just pulling the door open. That would be fine if they had used something besides plastic on the control panel cover where the handle is built into. The control panel is only held together with plastic pieces that the screws go into. After only a couple of years of pulling on this the plastic parts holding the screws have all broken causing my control panel to just flash. My husband is a maintenance engineer and upon taking the screws out couldnt believe with such a high quality machine that they had used plastic in the main place where they needed strength. The wiring was cut so short to the control panel that one of the plugs had come undone when the cover began separating. I only need the plastic cover because my control panel is working fine but of course you have to buy the entire control unit which is $150.I purchased Maytag because I thought they represented a reputable American company but I was very wrong. When I contacted Maytag about the problem they were very unconcerned and just gave me a link where I could purchase the part. When I told them it would be my last Maytag product they didnt even have a comment. Giving Made in America a bad name.

Had a recommended repair person come out and he said it was unfixable. The bearings were shot. This is crazy. There are only two of us using this machine how could it be totally unfixable 6 after only 6 years. The average washing machine life is supposed to be 14 years. No more Maytag for us.

We bought ALL new Maytag appliances for our home when we rebuilt after it was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina in 2005. We got the top of the line of every appliance. Our Maytag dryer model MDE2706AYW has broke for the 2nd time and cost to repair this time forces me to replace it. The dryer felts, idler pulley and belt went out several weeks ago. Used it about a week and the drum quit turning. The repair tech said the aluminum pulley for the belt on the motor is broke. The pulley is not serviced/available and you have to buy a new motor assembly. This puts repair price on up there where replacing the dryer is the only option. We are going shopping for a new dryer today. It wont be a Maytag.2 years ago, our Maytag washer broke. The repair tech said the transmission went out and it would cost less to replace the washer than to try and repair the Maytag washer. We bought a new washer, different brand. About 3 years ago, we had to have our Maytag dishwasher control panel replaced and 2 months later the pump housing broke. Repair tech said cost more to repair than new. Replaced with different brand.Shortly out of warranty, our Maytag Microwave broke. Everything worked except it would not heat anything. The repair tech said cost more to fix than new. Replaced with different brand. All we have left is the refrigerator which has had 2 expensive repairs done on it and the stove which has had the control board and several heating elements changed. I will never buy another Maytag product.

We have been without our washer for almost a month now and will have to wait another couple weeks for the part to come in on top of probably another week for a maintenance person to come out and repair. I asked to expedite the part but that went absolutely nowhere. It actually added time to get the part because it was suppose to be here on the 13th but now its up to 9 business days for that to happen. I bought this stove thinking of the Maytag repair man commercial that was advertised on TV for washing machines. Apparently Maytag only knows how to make washing machines (I did not buy one of their washing machines after my experiments with their stove). From day one the oven door never closed right, the self cleaning oven device had to be replaced 3 times over the year after have a repairman tell me that they all fail. I stopped using the self cleaning feature. This stove has cost me so much in repairs. The cook top is very very hard to clean. It always looks dirty. All the plastic knobs have melted off because the oven door never closed right. And the knobs are crazy expensive to replace as is just about everything on this stove. The oven temperature can not be trusted never cooked at the temperature it was set at. I paid a lot of money for this stove 10 years ago. And I am finally able to replace it thanks to a Christmas present from my 3 children. I love to cook and this stove made it difficult. My advice is to look for a different company when buying a kitchen stove. This Maytag has been nothing but trouble for me.

I am unsure exactly the age, but given the number of complaints Ive read, with the same problem, it seems as though, there was a flaw many years ago in design and regardless of issues hasnt been resolved with the newer models either. We purchased the Maytag Neptune washer and dryer on May 2005. We purchased it for $2,000. We have had so many problems as we have replaced the drain pump 2 times because of objects getting stuck in it. We have also replaced the door switch, as well as flooding my laundry room floor several times. In 2006, we received a notice of recall. We responded to the recall and were supplied with a GFCI plug for our washer, as this was to prevent the control board from catching on fire. In September 2011, the control panel on the Neptune washer failed. I now have to purchase a new washer, as this is an expensive fix. With this poor workmanship and problems that we have encountered, I am very disappointed. This was a lot of money to spend on a washer, only to last 6 years.

Bought a stove in May of 2014. In July of 2014 we noticed a 1x6 stain inside the glass of the oven door. I called Maytag and they stated only 30 day warranty on cosmetic flaws. I said this was not there when we bought it. They asked if anything had boiled over because if liquids get in the vents on the oven door it can get in between the glass. I stated no, only cleaned with Stainless steel clear. They stated most likely when I sprayed the door it ran down in between the glass. I said that is a flaw. They said, no the vents are there to allow heat out. I asked if they also were designed to let liquids inside the glass, they said no, I said design flaw. They will do nothing. I also pointed out that nowhere in the owners manual is there a reference to this possibly happening. Our sons in laws have a 3 year old LG stainless steel with vents and have never had this problem. Maytag will not stand behind their products even when they are the ones at fault. Buy a different brand.

Every appliance in my kitchen is Maytag. I went with Maytag because its made in America and now Im annoyed. The microwave died after about 5 years and since I had a spare, I have yet to repair it. I am just now removing the panel to see whats going on in the inside so I can replace whatever broken part is broken. The double oven I have Ive had to repair twice. Once I had to replace a capacitor on the board because it blew. It cost me zero to replace it as I have an old home theater system I part out. The next item was the control pad itself which I tried to repair but had to replace for $200. The dishwasher died after 6 years of use and after replacing the control pad (couldnt be repaired), it still didnt work. And I got a replacement from my wifes dad who was moving and had to get rid of his. Ultimate timing. I purchased a Maytag refrigerator instead of a Samsung like an idiot (which I suppose I am at this point). The fridge leaks water because the drain plug is jammed and it will take a lot of work to get back there to unjam it. I think Maytag wants to sell you expensive parts that are doomed to break after a couple years of normal use. They want to send repair guys out to your house to charge you to fix their junk. I cant wait to move and buy all Samsung products and do away with this Maytag relationship once and for all.

I absolutely love this Maytag Bravos XL washing machine... I bought this machine before doing any research because of a sale and then after reading multitudes of reviews... positive and negative... I thought I had made a mistake. The absolutely most important thing with this machine is to load it properly and select the proper wash cycles. You must stack your clothes around the outside of the drum leaving the center open. You must use HE detergent. This is a Commercial grade washer and is meant to be loaded. The twisting and wringing of clothes is because of the high speed nature of the spin cycle (commercial). If you have never been to a public laundromat then you should try it and see what those machines do to your clothes. I too was apprehensive about the water levels at first... So I stood there for an entire cycle multiple time and on diff settings. The machine is constantly adding water as needed and each time after about 10 min... no matter the size load I put in. The clothes eventually were covered by water. Have had no issues with clothes that come out dry in spots. I suspect this is due to improper loading. Again my info on using this machine... loading techniques etc.. all came from positive reviewers stressing the importance of these key factors. This machine was not designed or intended for light or delicate use. So if you do a lot of those type loads perhaps this machine is not for you. As for the loudness and banging I have read about I have not experienced that. I have read reviews that the problem in some case ended up being metal or plastic drip pans used under the machine. Mine sits on concrete. Anyway hope this helps someone out.

Last August I bought the Maytag Bravos XL. I have had 3 repairmen try to fix my problems with it and they cannot. The problem is, they cant fix an appliance that isnt designed correctly! Without water, one cannot wash. Dont be mislead that the huge area inside can be used for large objects like sheets and comforters. This machine is MUCH harder on my sheets and comforters than my old machine with a center agitator. I have had my washer and dryer for more than 5 years. As normal, over time, stuff wears out and parts need to be replaced. The manual doesnt list part numbers that are needed. The website doesnt pull up part numbers when you type in the model number. After paying for overnight shipping that isnt guaranteed (and was more than the part itself), it didnt show up until a couple of days later and it was the wrong part. I would have to pay for shipping costs of the return, now tripling the cost of the actual part. I bought this washer from Home Depot and was told I could load large comforters and even sleeping bags in it because there was no center agitator. There NEVER seems to be enough water to wash and rinse clothes completely. The water saver feature cannot be used as I have to use extra rinse cycle EVERY load to rinse soap out of clothes or I get white residue spots. I have MANY MANY shirts that have small tears in them I believe caused by this washer. I have monitored shirts I put in the washer and again today lost another high quality fabric T shirt. I bought the machine at Lowes. It was cheaper than the regular old agitator washers which should have been a clue. I like the old agitator washers that fill as you put in the clothes. Lowes installed it, turned it on and did not seem to care that although water should have been entering washer, none did. They rushed out. Ok, my water to the washer was bad so it was a simple plumbing fix. Less than 1 year the machine was full of water and would not agitate, spin, drain or anything. It sat full of water. My brother looked at it, fixed the hose that was no longer attached and it worked! Yeah for 1 year almost when again the belt came off, fixed again. I purchased an Atlantis washer in 2005 and assumed that Maytag was still one of the better manufacturers. How naive of me! What genius at Maytag thought it was a good idea to place the water filter inside the washer? Not only can you not keep the filter clean so that cold water will flow properly, even worse, if the filter completely clogs, the water will not stop filling into the tub which could, of course cause an overfill and flood. I narrowly escaped this scenario once. No one should have to stand and watch their machine fill with water to insure it stops. Now the machine is causing a grinding noise when agitating. I expect it to stop working any day. I will not buy another Maytag or Whirlpool, who of course now owns Maytag. And I will not pay another repair bill for the filter or any other part. The brand was once considered the best in America, now its just another brand thats a piece of junk produced in another country.

This review is for a Maytag Gemini MGT8775XW 30 Freestanding Double-Oven Gas Range w/ 5 Burners. I cannot believe the amount of problems I have had from this $2000+ range. Within just a few weeks of getting it, the paint started scratching off the surfaces nearest the heat. Then, the plastic cover over the digital display and controls bubbled up due to the heat of the broiler being in use. They designed it so that the heat escapes from the oven right in front of the control panel, so when you want to adjust temperatures on the control panel, you chance getting burnt from the hot air every time. The very worst design are the manual knobs for the burners on the front. They are at an angle, and if you look at the oven straight on, you see they are higher than the burner surface. A hot pan that overhangs the burner cooks the knobs. The plastic interior of the knob lacks any kind of heat resistance and actually starts to turn soft, keeping you from being able to turn off the burner at all! Most dangerous of all, the knobs are frighteningly easy to bump, pouring gas into your house. We have had this problem multiple times. Today, my dog must have wanted to investigate the top of the stove, because when I came home, the burner was on, had burnt through a pot on the stove, and was just at the ignition point for an item sitting next to the stove. If I had come home 15 minutes later, my house would be in flames right now. I am having to air out my home as I type this. I am DONE with this dangerous oven and will be shopping for a new one, and it certainly wont be Maytag.
