I purchased a Maytag MDB7749AWW dishwasher in March of 2012. The electronic control on this unit failed in June of 2013 (3 months out of warranty). I have been trying to get a replacement part for over a month; the part is on backorder and unavailable. Whirlpool is unable to tell me when the part will be available. So, I have had no dishwasher for over a month and have no idea when, or if it will be repairable. Additionally this part is $150.00 and another $75.00 to have it changed. So it is going to cost me $225.00 to repair a 15 month old dishwasher that I paid $450.00 for. I have received ZERO support from Whirlpool. They told me today, 7-31-13, that the part is still unavailable and they will notify me in 3-6 business days as to if they can find a part. After seeing all the issues other people have had with this part, Whirlpools total lack of concern or support for the consumer and the cost issue it makes no sense to repair this unit only to see it fail again in a year or so. Basically I have a $450.00 boat anchor. The retailer purchased it from feels bad and is offering me another manufactures machine at a reduced price. Maytag has refused to do anything for me. I will never buy another Whirlpool / Maytag item again and I do intend to add my name to the pending class action suit.

OK, Im at wits end. I bought a very expensive Maytag Gemini range four years ago. Since then, I have replaced 10 burner valves. There are only five of them. They have each been replaced twice, and tonight yet another has broken. This time it is broken in the ON position, which means I cant have the range on without that burner on. It means unplugging it when not in use and lighting the burner with a match when I re-plug the stove, until I get it fixed. I had just replaced valve number 10 on Tuesday, and had a fully working range for only 5 days. These valves are under warranty but the labor is not, and it is always close to $200 to have someone come out to replace them. I cant afford a new stove and I cant afford to keep having these defective valves replace.

My Bravo washer will not wash a set of sheets without dancing across the floor. So irritating to have to run in and separate the sheets that have ended up in a ball. The dryer is ok. Except my old Maytag had a loud buzzer that went off when the cycle was done. My new dryer has a dainty little chime that cant be heard if the washer is going. Wish I had my old set back!

I wrote the below to Maytag on their FaceBook page, of course havent heard anything back from them. Adding this on since I forgot about it, I have dogs and wash their blankets often, not that theyre dirty just for the dog smell. I have to wash them on the sanitize cycle which is an 1.5 hours long because if I use the normal cycle which is only 43 minutes they come out smelling exactly the same way they went in. I saw someone else post that their mothers front loader doesnt put in enough water so Im wondering if thats what happens to mine. So wish I would have checked the reviews before buying, thought I was getting a great washer buying Maytag.This is what I wrote on their FB page: I bought a Maytag front loading washer on 5/10/16 which was delivered and set up on 5/13/16. On Wednesday 10/19/16 it stopped working, so just over 5 months from the day it was installed. I called your company on 10/20/16 for repairs, they couldnt get here until today, 10/24, so 5 days with no washer. The customer service rep had all the details on what happened and Im sure passed them along to the repair company. He ran diagnostics, said it was the drain pump which was obvious even to me, but claimed to not have one with him even though they were in stock. Cant make it back until Wednesday, so two more days with no washer. He then proceeded to tell me that the dryer had to come off (stacked on top since the washer is a front loader) before he got back, that the warranty wouldnt cover two people coming out. So Im supposed to spend more money to hire someone to come out, take off the dryer and then pay them again to come back and put it back on. I called the customer service department again and was told they dont cover installation which stacking is. She said the warranty doesnt cover stacked units, as far as I can find that isnt stated in the warranty so please let me know where that is stated in writing. So I have a just over 5-month-old washer that needs repair already (bodes well for the future doesnt it??), will be without a washer for almost a week because the repairman didnt bring the most obvious part with him (maybe wanted to be paid for two calls?) and have to pay someone else for installation so it can be fixed. So wheres the Maytag man? I am not a happy customer and will be letting as many people know as possible. Ill be in the market for other new appliances soon, will sure as hell make sure theyre not made by Maytag, Whirlpool et all.

Topload Maytag Bravos washer sounds like a jet on spin cycle. Called Maytag, no recalls or service issues. Just wanted to sell me a service contract for over 300.00 dollars that would fix it and be covered under warranty for a year on anything that went wrong. Could set me up with a service call, but it was six days from now - no thanks. The washer this replaced was a Sears which was 26 years old. It still worked and I sold it for 75.00 dollars. Guess I will stick with Sears!

This top load machine replaced a top of the line Maytag Neptune. It has five water levels. It has three temperature settings and four wash selections. It also has a selection for an extra rinse that I use for white loads. The washer is very reliable. Clothes come out clean with an average amount of detergent. Although this washer is more than fourteen years old, it has never needed service or repairs. By running a cleaning cycle every six months, it drains like brand new. The stainless steel drum is still as polished as it was when it was new. Even the hoses have lasted with a need for replacement.

I purchased my home in 2008 at which time I bought all brand new Maytag appliances, well the above the stove microwave Ive had to replace the door handle because it broke off and the oven I can only use the very top or bottom to cook on and I cant move them, otherwise the racks will fall through. I have burned myself numerous times as I cant pull the racks in or out and I found that out cooking dinner and when I pulled it out the rack fell through and my dinner went crashing down and splashed everywhere. Due to this fact I hardly ever use it. I contacted Maytag with no help, told me to buy new racks and those did the same thing so it was a $100. It seems as though the liner cant handle the self clean heat and if you look at my oven, the left side is pushed in. If anyone gets help with this issue please let me know. My model number is MERH865RAS serial # 14348133LX. Oh and my refrigerator is a side by side and I have had to have it repaired twice because my food kept thawing out. That model number is MSD2651KES serial 60869476LV all of these are Maytag products and were purchased brand new from Home Depot.

We purchased a $700 Maytag range 2 years ago and recently the oven did not work. After a Maytag authorized tech came out and checked the unit, he proclaimed the circuit board was bad and needed to be replaced. Since these ovens only have a 1-year warranty - regardless of the price you pay - he said it would be over $450 to repair it. When I asked why so expensive, he stated that they dont price the parts - Maytag does. I decided I could buy a new range for that price and get one with a warranty so I passed. I then decided to contact Maytag because I was very disappointed that such a reputable brand would prove so faulty. After writing a very polite letter and emailing customer service, they replied with a pack of lies. They stated that they have no control in what the service company charges for parts and failed to offer any assistance. They did not offer any solution except to say, Sorry. Well, you can bet that I have already spread the word to all my friends and associates about this experience and my Facebook page lit up with comments after I posted it. I will never buy another Maytag product and will make it my mission to spread the word. I had a similar issue with my brand new HP laptop but after contacting them, they immediately reached out to me and offered to pay for part of the repair!! Thats how you take care of your customers.

We purchased the washing machine (MVWB400VQO) on July 9, 2009. Now we must buy a new washing machine as this one is apparently beyond repair, or else the repair costs will far exceed what it would cost to purchase a new machine. We are completely disgusted with its failure, as we paid $822.36, with the delivery fee and the tax. We expected that this machine would last for years, but here we are, 42 months later, having to again invest in a washer. Now that we have a computer and are able to browse your performance reports, we wish we had been able to read them before, in which case we never ever would have bought it at all.Yesterday it spewed water all over our basement, flooding things that should not get wet, providing an atmosphere for encouragement of mold and rust. The motor is gone as the housing is cracked, which was caused by debris getting into it, something that we could not have known or prevented. This is very poor design by your company, in our opinion. We called some repairmen, all useless as apparently the whole machine would have had to be completely dismantled at a rate of $84.00 per hour, and he could not tell us how many hours that would take, to say nothing of finding a new motor for the thing.We will never again buy a Maytag product as they are expensive with a too-short shelf life and there’s nobody who cares when you need help for something that should not have happened at all. I understand Maytag is really not the good old dependable Maytag we used to know and love at all, but rather is now owned by the Whirlpool Corporation, whose products we will never purchase either.I know why that lovable old Maytag repairman we used to see on TV is retired. Its because he could no longer stand the quality (or lack thereof) of the appliances that you are now producing. He is probably home, hiding his head somewhere and hoping nobody will recognize him. And what, kind sirs, do you have to say about this? Thank you in advance for your prompt reply.

Had a Maytag washer, 3.5 tub, stopped working. The motor upper bearing lost it press, drive shaft dropped 3/4 inch and locked against lower housing, stripped out pump spline. No f/u by Maytag after many attempts. This is a design flaw, the upper housing is so thin, if it had .001 press on it I would be surprised. This flaw resulted in a cascade failure of motor and pump.

I absolutely do not like the fact that you can’t choose what size load you have. The washer wants to do it for you but it is not very good at it. You have to fool the washer to get any kind of water level or just use the deep fill every time which is what I do in order to get the clothes clean! This defeats the whole purpose of trying to save water. Also there are too many settings. I mean we’re just washing clothes here not flying a jet. I personally would prefer dials instead of the digital instrument panel. So much easier.

Have a Bravo Quiet Series 300, does not clean clothes because on not enough water to wash with. Have to set it on Bulk to have it clean good enough. The way it agitate and rotate the clothes turns the wash into knotted pretzels (this also makes it harder to clean the clothes) which in turn makes the spin cycle vibrate badly. Cannot put wash in and leave because of this.

Our Maytag Dishwasher, Model MDB4949SDE2 was purchased May 14, 2016 at Home Depot for $470. It has performed perfectly until January 6, 2020, when a noise, loud enough to imitate grinding wheel, happened with every Start-Up attempt. An independent technician advised replacing the pump motor, thinking that perhaps some popcorn kernels had lodged in the system. (Kernels were cleaned out of the drain filter.)We operated the unit after he left, and the noise began to diminish, eventually disappearing altogether after several loads. Today, February 26, 2020, the same tech found that the large, upper impeller was clogged (not rinsing completely) with citrus seeds and VARIOUS METAL SHAVINGS & SMALL PIECES OF WHAT WOULD BE CHOPPER BLADES FROM THE INTERNAL GARBAGE DISPOSAL. After reading the Maytag Dishwasher problems experienced by others (with repeated control panel failure, burning wires, leaks, and house fires), I consider us lucky to have none of those. We will not run the unit at night, nor with an empty house. Next problem, we will buy a Chinese made dishwasher, like GE.

Well I like all the other people have the very same problem. Ruined floor from sheet of ice that forms on the bottom tray daily. I was told I need a new main board which I understand is about $500.00. I am 55 years old and this was my first brand new fridge. I am so so upset. I grew up with the whole Maytag repairman commercials where he was so lonely cause he never had any repairs to do. All my life I grew up with these commercials. I thought I was buying the best. What a disappointment. It has been in my living room for 2 years. I keep thinking something wonderful is going to happen. Now I have to pay someone to haul it off. Great.

I purchased a Maytag Bravos XL washing machine in December 2019. The machine started badly malfunctioning in November 2020. By the time I called for service, they told me the 12-month warranty had expired and I needed a new control board put in for $529! I called Maytag and they agreed to replace the board free of charge, but I had to pay $120 for the service call. They replaced the board, and the new board is faulty. The machine will not fill with water, it wont lock, and now it wont even start. This machine is a LEMON!Now they are saying the soonest they can get a tech out is 1/29/21. Meanwhile, I have a mountain of laundry piling up in my laundry room because I havent had a working washing machine for almost a month. I called to complain and demanded either a refund or a new machine--they will do neither. I used to buy Maytag because of the name, dependability, and customer service. No wonder they were bought by Whirlpool. I WILL NEVER BUY MAYTAG OR WHIRLPOOL AGAIN. I should have looked at all the 1-star ratings online. BUYER BEWARE!

I purchased an automatic dishwasher for $660.00 on or about Aug of 2007 (Mod #MDB6759AWS3 ser # NY3417703). It was a model about to be discontinued however still carried the full one year warranty. After install one year and 28 days it failed. The tech described a faulty computer board and a replacement cost of $885.00, a cost of $215.00 more than it originally cost!! They did offer a warranty of one year after we installed the new part but at a cost of $215.00 more than we originally paid! Maytag promotes their brand as reliable. However I dispute this claim.

All I can say is, Wow. My Maytag washer and dryer have never needed anything in 21 years of service. Purchased in 1997 at Lowes in Chambersburg, PA. Both work and look like new! Both are top of the line units. Would buy again!

I purchased a Maytag made by Whirlpool in China about two years ago. The timer went out about nine months later. It went out again about 3 months after that and I paid to replace two sensors in addition. The washer still stops during a cycle at various times; it might be pausing or spinning or filling. When it finishes washing, sometimes it refills and leaves everything wet. I purchased from Deweys in San Clemente and they have tried to service but this is a real lemon. I will never buy anything again made by Whirlpool. I will research and find out what companies have been bought by them so as to avoid this. I note online that there are several hundred complaint problems about Whirlpool so they had to buy a company with a good reputation and ruin their product.

I have always loved Maytag but this top load washer is a bust. I purchased this higher dollar energy efficient washing machine to hopefully get the value out of it for years to come. Model MVWC565F. 4.2 Cu Ft. I use good quality liquid laundry detergent. I launder adult clothing (including business casual wear), sheets, towels and pet blankets. Occasionally the 20+ something children do their laundry while home. I often have dry spots on my clothes where they never got actually wet. I switched to only using the deep water cycle; however, this does not immerse the load in water. The smaller my load the less likely to get clean. Ive adapted to only have large loads but I still do not feel my clothes are getting clean. I often have to run the load a second time to not only remove ordinary day-of-wearing smells (very noticeable in socks for example) but to get them all wet and free of soapy/linty-like spots left on the clothes from the washer (most notable on black leggings, dress pants, etc). I always do my towels and bedding separate from daily clothing, so this is not coming from having a mixed load. I have also noticed that the load takes much longer (up to 2 hours) for my washing cycle. How is this energy efficient? It uses less water but more electricity? I miss my old fully-immerse-in-water washing machine that washed in under an hour! Love the dry that I bought with this but not the washing machine!! I do not recommend this washing machine!!

Purchased a Bravo set 5 years ago. Paid $730. For the washer. 4 repairs in 5 years. It is now has a bearing out and that will cost $450. MAYTAG used to be the best... buyer beware!

I bought this Maytag MCT washer and dryer set brand new from Lowes October 31st, 2016. When I washed the first load it made so much noise I thought it was broken. Called Lowes and they said it is just noisier than the older ones. This is the water/load sensing model, supposed to be great. I am usually here by myself, so at most I wash one load of clothes a week. I have a queen size mattress pad in there washing right now. This pad fills up the drum pretty much, I have it on deep water but that only gives me maybe 1/4 of the drum that has water in it. The pad is wet from wicking, NOT from the water covering it. How is this supposed to clean anything when the water is not covering the items?When it spins out, it gets off balance easily. The manual says to not worry about balancing load as you put it in there, but doesnt make any sense to just cram on one side as the water isnt going to float the cloth around to balance. The settings for Bulky does nothing more than the setting for Deep Water, you still do not get enough water to wash your clothes.It also does not do any good to add fabric softener to the machine, as it seems to just take it all out, you cannot smell any fabric softener on your laundry when you are transferring it to the dryer. And the laundry when dry isnt soft like it was with the old machines. I will be 62 in December 2017. My parents always had Maytags, never a problem. This is the 4th set of Maytags I have had. And bought a set for my daughter in 2013 also. And this by far is the worst. Their quality is completely gone now. Nothing but cheap made products that are predestined to fail. Friend across the street said she had looked at this set when she was in market to get a new set. She has an friend who works on appliances and who works for stores selling these models and he told her, they were not worth buying. Wish I had known that. Do not waste your money.

Apparently the Maytag Bravos HE top loading washer is poorly designed. We have sparingly used this washer for approx 3 years and it began to make a horrible noise in the spin cycle and then to give us UL error codes. After searching on the internet we discovered that the seal around the main spin shaft and the bearings were bad. Inspection under the machine revealed a terrible rust and grease spot and splatters of rust and grease on underside of unit. This is a typical problem and this machine should have been recalled or at the very least repaired by Maytag for little if any cost. They now make a kit to fix this problem, but this should not happen after only 2-4 years of use on a $700+ machine. Very, very disappointed with Maytag! Customer service, of course, offered us nothing as pathetic 1 year warranty was expired. Ten year on the tub, like anything will go wrong with that.

Have 2 fridges (one regular and the other is a side-by-side, both were bought in 2006 at Future Shop. The small one is not freezing and the side-by-side ($2,200) is busted too (compressor wont start....). How can Maytag say that their product are reliable on TV??? A Fridges compressor should last at least 15 years !! Maytag, you should at least have the decency to pay for the compressor!

I bought a Maytag dishwasher just 15 months ago. Worked fine for the first 12 months. Then literally, a few short weeks after the warranty expired, the buttons on the control panel started acting up. The normal button, when pushed, would light up the delay hours. The light cycle would make the rinse only come to life. It was beyond frustrating. My husband would unplug it to reset it and that worked for two weeks but now, nothing. It wont work at all. Im FURIOUS, considering we spent $450 on this thing and now its useless. I had a Kitchen-Aid that I loved but due to cost, decided to get this hunk of junk. I learned my lesson..Maytag, you should be ashamed you make such horrible products.

We finished a kitchen tear out and full remodeling. From top to bottom adding the Maytag double oven insert into our cabinets. We checked out reviews and MANY stated that the oven's fans were LOUD! But we've had them now for 4 months and the reviews do NOT give an accurate account in my opinion. My wife loves using the ovens for all sorts of cooking and baking projects and the units are NOT LOUD at all. You'd have thought from what we read about the ovens that we were making a bad purchase but that's not the case. Quiet, even cooking and a GREAT PURCHASE. If your ovens are loud when cooling something must be wrong! Or maybe we got LUCKY!? I don't think that's the case at all but then I haven't used other's ovens only ours and we are pleased!!! 5 STAR for sure.

I purchased my Maytag gas range (model number mGR7665WB) on Thanksgiving 2011! It worked fine until May 2012. Then the bake function just stopped working. If I select bake, the temperature fails to rise above 100F and a sickening gas smell fills the kitchen! PC Richards, where I purchased the product from, sent a repairman who took two weeks and two visits to fix the part! Everything was working fine until six months later during cooking for a full house on the day of my daughters birthday party. Same problem, bake function failed again along with gas smell! I was pregnant at the time and very worried about the gas smell! We had to leave the house a few days after that due to the hurricane and when I returned, everything worked great for a few weeks only to fail on Christmas Eve leaving me to cook the meat for our Christmas Day dinner in a neighbors house, highly embarrassing and inconvenient! Now Maytag and PC Richards are only able to repair at a high cost to me which I cant afford and feel I shouldnt be responsible for as this product has been consistently unreliable and possibly dangerous. I am especially concerned about the gas smell as I have a newborn and a 3-year old in our small apartment!

The freezer will frost up and the shelves will not move. Repairman has been out three times, once to clean the drain. The second time he installed new tracks for 250.00. Two hours later they still wont move. The third time out he said it was repaired, but two hours later they didnt move again. We are very disappointed with Maytag.

I purchased MVWB955FW (washer) and MEDB955FW (dryer) from AJ Madison and the units were delivered in December 2017. After using the washing machine 5 times the glass lid spontaneously shattered putting glass into the machine and all of the clothes. I called Maytag for a replacement/service and they had to reschedule as the lid wasnt in yet. A week later, I followed up with Customer Service only to find out that the replacement lid was also shattered. They didnt make a replacement lid without glass (not sure why you need to watch the clothes being washed). I was told that there were no replacement lids available anywhere. I asked about getting a replacement washer and was told couldnt do that.I asked them to pick up the units and refund my money, which they promised. It is now 2 months since the original call for service and I continue to have to follow-up with them (never get a call back) and STILL have the broken units in my house. I have since purchased a replacement set (LG) and waiting for my refund. I will NEVER do business with Maytag/Whirlpool again.

We purchased a $945 Maytag 6.4 Cu. ft. self-cleaning freestanding electric convection range which was part of the stainless-steel package for $3600 + a $600-dollar 5 warranty. I did the research and found a solid 4.0 rating, so I went for it. Now I wish I never wasted my money and time. My 5-year warranty for all 4 appliances expired on 8/17 and now everything starts failing, how convenient. The oven will not heat past 340-350 degrees which won’t work with 90% of the stuff I bake. I called Maytag to see if it can be fixed and was quoted $400 for the issue but nothing else. I can pick up a new stainless-steel oven with the save features on a holiday sale for $500. Don’t waste your money on warranties!

This is just a heads up to anyone thinking about purchasing the front loading Maytag Neptune washer and dryer. We spent $1900.00 on these machines and have had nothing but trouble from them. I will never purchase a Maytag or now, Whirlpool appliance again. As to the rating above, if I could post negative 150 stars I would. I have spent as much in repairs as the new dryer cost.

In the winter of 2007, we remodeled our kitchen and bought all new Maytag appliances. They cost a little more but we felt that we were getting a good quality product. Within months, the handle on the freezer became loose and I had to call for a repairman to tighten it. He told me we should buy the extended warranty because only a trained repairman could fix the handle. That turned out to be untrue thankfully because if it was true, I would have to call for repair at least once a month. The handle is constantly coming loose. A few months later, the microwave would turn on when the door was closed. I called repair as it was still under warranty. After he removed and replaced the door, I was told that we have to be careful when we close the microwave. There was nothing he could do to stop the problem. Approximately three years after we purchased the appliances, we had a problem with the dishwasher. We could only use one function; the others would not work. We were told by the technician that we got water into the door where the controls are and ruined the motherboard. I never heard anything so absurd. I have had a dishwasher in the same place for 25 years with no mishap. The cost of repair was $800. A few months later, we had a problem with the large burner on our cooktop. The outer coils heat up but the inner coils do not. I have yet to call for repair because I do not trust Maytag. Now, our microwave does not work. My husband used it to make popcorn with no problem. A little while later, I tried to heat a cup of coffee and it would not heat. The keypad works, the light comes on in the microwave but the motor does not run. Needless to say, we are very unhappy and will never buy another Maytag appliance. I wish I would have read the reviews before we purchased the appliances. Two of our friends had their kitchens remodeled at the same time we did and they have not had any problems with their appliances. But they didnt buy Maytag. I guess thats why.

This a 28-month-old bottom freezer fridge purchased from Home Depot. At about 26 months, the freezer started to leak water as ice was completely covering the bottom of the freezer floor and the excess water would then run out once the door was opened. I managed to get the ice out with slim bladed putty knife and did this about every 10 days. Contact with Maytag affirmed that I had no warranty available as it only comes with a 1-year, except for the compressor. Every effort was made to sell me an extended 1-year warranty for $330, and then a technician would be sent to fix the problem. I asked if the compressor had failed, would I be discounted as it is warranted and the answer was no, the fee was still $330. I had great difficulty in explaining why I would purchase a warranty for an item that is already warranted to no avail.I decided to go with their 2nd option of having a local appliance tech to solve the problem at my expense which I did for a final cost of $130. Technician came and immediately knew the problem and removed a little black rubber stopper valve that is supposed to let water pass but gets clogged and the water backs up into the freezer. It took him all of a half hour to fix everything, $85 for the visit and $45 for time in place, $0 for parts. He stated that this is a continuing problem that he has seen many times. Moral: Dont buy any Maytag products as the Maytag repairman who had nothing to do has died.

13 months after installing the dishwasher, the touch pad no longer functioned. Called Maytag 800 number and they said out of warranty. I sent out repair man and he gave me a price for repair totaling approx. $300. Called back to Maytag and asked for a supervisor, she agreed to send the parts for free and I had the repair man install. Out the $120 for the repair and wonder how long it will last this time! I will consider a buying an extended warranty? Next time I will buy a lesser priced dishwasher with a dial, no more touch pads.

We received a MayTag Microwave on Saturday May 10, 2014. There was a minor ding in its case, but it did not show any other damage. After installation I tried to use the microwave. It did not work. So on Monday the 12th I called 800-688-9900 for service. A service appointment was scheduled for Wed May 14th. The service man told us the microwave could not be fixed and had to be replaced. I asked who should replace it. He told me to take it back to the place of purchase.I took it back to the dealer and after a lot of discussion it turned out that MayTag had to replace it. I was given a case number. I called Maytag and was told replacement could take 4 -3 weeks. I could purchase a new microwave and have it by Friday may 16th much sooner than Maytag could do.

Maytag Bravos Top Loader Model #MVWB400V90 washing machine went out and was showing code F1 code. I looked in the book and it said call service. So, I called Maytag who provided a repair number for the local authorized dealer appliance doctor. I called them 2 weeks later and the tech said, Before I do anything, you have a common problem I’ve been seeing with the motherboard in these machines. You should contact Maytag, and charged me a $100.00 service call fee. Then when I called the Maytag line, 1-800 253-1301, the first lady says I have 2 options: purchasing a $315.00 program plus which would send a tech, cover the part and 1 year warranty or get the number for an authorized repair place. But after hearing the first option, I didnt like either. She proceeded to tell me I could no longer have option 1 because I called a tech out. What?! Where do you think I got the number from, hello?! Then after I asked for a supervisor or manager, they put someone on the line who claimed to be the last and final authority (Robin) that I could speak to. When I asked does she have a boss, she said doesnt everybody? I said after several condescending comments by her. I am being treated like I am not the person who just spent 700 plus dollars and after only 3 years, my washing machine is out and you are treating me like I am the bad guy. I asked for a complaint line or email address to voice my concern but again Robin stated the buck stopped with her; what?! Is this the Maytag my family would own 20 plus years later going strong or a new version who doesnt care after you purchase their washer if it lasts or not? To ask me to spend 600 plus in repairs after you tried to offer me 300 plus in a program is ridiculous and I will never ever buy a Maytag because of this response plus treatment. I will have to buy a whole new washer after only 3 years but I am going to tell the entire world to avoid Maytag if they want a washer to last without any type of resolution beyond doing it yourself.

I can see by the comments on this page that the letter I sent to Whirlpool was in vain. I purchased a Maytag double oven gas range (MGT8775XW00) from our local Lowes. We were remodeling a home we had purchased. Unfortunately (as anyone whos been involved in home remodeling/renovation knows well), it took much longer than I thought it would before range could be installed. It was several months later before it was installed. First time I tried to use the top oven, it would heat to set temp (I assume) and then shut down. The larger bottom oven had erratic heating. I tried adjusting oven temps but it was a guessing game. We had Fix-Rite Corp out twice and they were puzzled by the problem. Two times, they replaced the control panel. After the second repair, it was decided the only thing to fix the kitchen was a complete gutting, new cabinets and floor. The oven was pulled out before I had a chance to use it again. By the time we got the kitchen finished and range reinstalled, I discovered the oven still had the same problems and the broiler would ignite sometimes and when it did, the flame would go out after 30 to 60 seconds and would not come back on. By this time, we were past the one-year warranty. After the first repair did not work, I tried to get Lowes to take it back and assured them I would purchase another range from them. They said they could not do that. Now I can see Im going to end up buying another range. Be assured it wont be Maytag and it wont be Lowes. I also own and use Maytag washer and dryer.

They are the new HE top loaders with locking lids. Since I purchased them I have had nothing but trouble. Customers have complained about them on a regular basis; there are days when we have had as many as five complaints.First of all, the locking lids proved to be a much bigger problem than we anticipated. People want to open top loaders to add fabric softeners and when we have opened them so that they can add the fabric softener they are often disappointed with the level of water in the washer. Those people consequently refused to use those particular washers. People have pressed the buttons on the control boards and sent the machines into a loop; different readings have appeared on the screen. Some of them say out of order, sync and several other error codes. Eventually the machines reset themselves or I have had to reset the programming. In the meantime the people pass the word and those machines are not used by those who hear. The controls are too sensitive and are not suited to a commercial coin laundry.Whenever any buttons on the control board are pressed the time of the wash appears on the board. Because of this some people who are busy and are using and loading several washers claim that they have already put their money into the machines; they argue with the attendant or with us. Many times they actually believe that they have placed money in the machine and many times they try to get a free wash from us. Either way they are unhappy and they, and those who hear them argue, will not use those washers again. In most cases we lose them as customers and once customers are lost they never return.I placed them in a location where the previous Maytags had been heavily used, expecting them to replace the old machine. I was wrong. They are used very little and the long and short of it is that we are losing money and since our busy season is coming up, will be losing even more customers and therefore more money. I spent close to $12,000 on the machines, including delivery and installation and right now they are quickly becoming heavy paper weights. I have contacted the salesman who sold them to us, but he has given us the runaround and done nothing about the situation.

I purchased a Maytag Microwave Oven MMV5208 WS 1 from Home Depot less than two years ago. Mine was actually manufactured in April 2013 according to the ID tag. A couple of months ago it started acting up because a switch when the door closes began to malfunction and you had to open and close the door several times to get the microwave started. Then all of a sudden when you set the timer and pushed the start button it would flash on and immediately shut off. This is extremely frustrating because I paid more than $400.00 and purchased it less than two years ago. I am disappointed because Maytag advertises its reliability and this microwave is anything but reliable.

My daughter purchased this washer and matching dryer as a set from Lowes about 4 years ago. It was one of the few with an agitator and that is what she wanted. After using the washer for the first time she was very disappointed to find that the shortest cycle took over an hour and that the locking lid feature couldnt be bypassed. A few weeks ago the washer began gushing water onto the floor which flooded the basement below. She had purchased an extended warranty which was due to expire the following week.She called Lowes and scheduled a repairman. He finally came 2 weeks later and used the Internet to help him diagnose the problem!!! We could have done that. He decided that the control panel was only allowing the agitator to turn in one direction during the wash cycle. So essentially it was spinning a tub full of clothes and water causing lots of water to overflow the tub onto the floor. Needless-to-say he had to order a part and cant return for over 2 weeks to install it. IF this is even the problem! He also said he couldnt disable the locking lid feature! If my daughter had been able to open the lid when the problem started she would have known more about it.We are thankful her machine was under warranty but she will have been without a machine for almost 2 months when and if it is fixed. This is completely unsatisfactory for a gently used 4 year old washer. The dryer takes forever to dry also. If you are buying Maytag based on how long your grandmothers machine lasted, you will be disappointed! This washer caused so much damage we had to file a homeowners insurance claim!

My washer (Performance Series 4000) needed new bearings about 6 months after purchase. By the time the parts came in and after the A&E repairman rescheduled because he didnt know how to replace them, another two months had passed. Now, a year later and with no more warranty, the bearing needs replacing again! This washer is only 1 year 8 months old! The first repair cost well over $1,500 but was covered under warranty. There are hundreds of other people with Maytag washers having the same issues! Maytag is well aware of the defect and refuses to take responsibility. This is a continuing aggravation! On July 27, I discovered the dishwasher (MDB7600AWW) tub had developed a crack in the bottom right rear and had warped my countertop and the floor under it was full of water! I called the appliance store where it was purchased and was told to call Maytag. I have a 20-year warranty on the tub with free replacement of the unit if it fails. I called Maytag and was told we needed a service call to verify. I scheduled it for July 30, and 3 minutes and $75 later, yup, tub is cracked. Its a known problem, and the dealer has already replaced some for customers. I called Maytag to get the ball rolling for replacement. I spoke with Jennifer and was told shed get back to me.Meanwhile, we went to several stores, checking out other Maytag models. So, Id have some idea of what was available as a replacement. I called Jennifer on July 31 with a suggested model Id find as a suitable replacement. She said shed check and get back to me. On August 13, I called Jennifer for some answers, got the voicemail, and left a message. On August 14, I went online to chat. Finally, I was told Id have a replacement in 10-12 days. Id be contacted to schedule installation. On August 16, I called a local dealer again. He cant understand the problem. Hed replaced two others in a few days. He made some calls for us and gave us the name and phone for the company replacing the dishwasher as well as the work order. Installation was tentative for August 23. (Hed been cut out completely!)I called Optimus Solutions, and theyre awaiting shipment. Tentative installation was on August 23. On August 22, theres still no word. I called Maytag customer service. Sorry, it was shipped to the wrong address, so it was shipped back! Its now in transit and supposed to be delivered to Optimus Solutions today but not being scheduled for installation until August 31!This has become one nightmare after another with everyone pointing the finger at the next guy. Phone calls get only the same runaround. No, speaking to a supervisor wont help - theyll tell me the same thing. Isnt that convenient! Meanwhile, Im still washing dishes by hand and having psoriasis on my hands, which are like two pieces of raw meat right now. It is beyond aggravation; its bordering on torture! I purchased my first Maytag dishwasher and it was recalled as being a fire hazard. I was offered to have it repaired or pay for an upgrade (approximately $200). I chose to pay and upgrade because I dont want a fire hazard in my home. After my paid replacement, I received a recall on the new dishwasher regarding the same issue (different model) and I chose once again to pay and upgrade (thinking that if I spent $700, I wouldnt have a problem). In less than two months of installation, the dishwasher died in the middle of a cycle. Filled with water, I bailed it out and called Maytag. I told them that I wanted a new one and they told me that I was past the replacement period. They sent a service man out and he stated that it was a problem with model # MDB7709AWB2 and serial # F03002958. He said that it was easy to fix and said he had done it several times. So now, within less than 1 month before my warranty is expired, the dishwasher did the same thing--it died in the middle of the cycle and wont turn on. I called Maytag and they told me that they would send out a third party repair company (JD Appliance) but I would have to wait for four days. I contacted Maytag and said that I was concerned about the dishwasher breaking down again for the same problem (bi metal unit blew). This is the second time it happened. Jeremy, the repair man, said that the first replacement was not installed properly and they should have replaced the entire unit. He stated that it was a common problem with that model, as did the first repairman in Dec 2010. When I spoke to a supervisor named Kia at 800-344-1274, she stated that they had no known issues with this model. I said that it was not what the repairman told me as well as the Maytag dispatcher. They both said that the heat sensor (Bi Metal Thermal Unit Part No. W10258275) goes up and has to be replaced because it is overly sensitive. If you are out of warranty, it costs around $200 to have it fixed. I told Kia and she said that it was not documented in her file, therefore, it never happened. I want to know my consumer rights to address this issue. I have paid for (on 3 occasions) a new dishwasher and have continuous issues that cost me money. I want an assurance like an extended warranty, free of charge, for the dishwasher that has already been repaired twice for the same exact problem. I have the original part that was improperly replaced to prove that it wasnt replaced to specifications, therefore, blowing it again. I was told by Kia that Maytag does not compensate or replace their products unless deemed not repairable by the technician. It doesnt matter how many time the same problem occurs. I would appreciate your attention to this matter.

We purchased the washer and dryer combo brand new from Lowe’s, had them delivered and hooked up together when we first purchased our house in the summer of 2016. 3 years later, both (expensive!!!) machines are having problems. Peeling of paint off the oven finish, inconsistent heating, fan goes on and cant shut off until the oven cools, have to leave door open in order to shut fan off. The paint peeling is really bad. It is right where the heat escapes from the oven, have to touch up paint every so often so it doesnt look so bad and the discoloration is covered besides the peeling.

We’ve had our Maytag washing machine for 29 years, and it’s still going strong! We’ve only had it repaired once in all those years. It’s a top loading washing machine. It has a suds saver, and a gentle cycle, too.The agitator’s in the middle of the barrel. Although it’s an old machine & not as energy efficient as the new ones are, we’re planning to keep this one for a while. Too bad newer machines are expensive and aren’t built to last!

In 2009, we purchased $5,041 worth of Maytag appliances. Three years later, we have had issues with every appliance except the dryer. The washer needed a new motor and circuit board in February 2011. The oven light came on and stayed on because the switch malfunctioned in June 2011. The ice maker in the bottom drawer sprung a leak in February of 2012 and today, the over-the-range microwave stopped working without any sputters or warnings. While I was investigating the possible reasons for my microwaves demise (Im concluding that it is poor craftsmanship!), I found that my dishwasher is on recall. I did not have any problems with that and it is the one appliance that could have started a fire! Maytag appliances will not be bought again by me or anyone I know. They are a huge disappointment and waste of my money!

The washer worked great for the first 6 months, then it didnt dissolve the soap, it wouldnt complete the cycle, and there is a loose bolt like sound when you spin the drum. The load level is not an issue. We have had the serviceman out four times, he has called the tech support each time and they cannot resolve the issue. Maytag said sorry! Unless it does it constantly then they cant help. The control panel has been replaced and the drum has been replaced. So we keep paying the water and sewer bill to rerun the load 1/2/3 times to get it to complete the cycle. This washer was purchased last May, 2011 and they say were stuck with it.

My washer is new, out of warranty, and about 2 and a half years old. All of a sudden, with no warning or previous issues, the computer board in the washing machine malfunctioned which caused a humming noise, it would not cycle into the next wash phase, the time would go up instead of down, I could not change cycles, and when I would push the power button there would be a delay of power coming on. I unplugged and called my local appliance repair and he said he sees problems with this model regularly, although not always the same issues.Before purchasing I scoured the internet for reviews on different units to make sure I didnt get a lemon. I think Maytag saw the error of their ways quickly and stopped making these before people caught on. This model is no longer being made. I like matching units, so it meant either shell out $500 for replacing the board, or replacing both the washer and the dryer that still works, which would be about $1200 or more for a new set. I chose the least expensive route for now. Not that it matters where I bought mine, but Home Depot and it was on clearance so it was a good price. I have now made up for that difference in repairs.

In October 2017, I purchased a Maytag MVWB765FW0, thinking that it would live up to the Maytag reputation but I will NEVER buy Maytag again. This machine is more suitable to wash industrial canvas rather than clothing and bedding. All the laundry is twisted and mangled and ends up in a large tangled ball at the bottom of the tub. My clothing is being destroyed faster than I can replace it.

We purchased this double-oven range (model: MGT8775XW01) about 5-6 years ago. It came with some slight bubbling on the plate that the control knobs go through/are mounted onto. A few years later, the bubbling paint began to chip/peel off - revealing rust (its a white range). I bought some touch-up paint, but that didnt look very good. Now that entire plate is bubbling and peeling and makes the whole range look like crap. My wife swears well never buy another Maytag product...EVER! Shes ripped! I cant seem to find the replacement part to purchase. Lousy products!

I bought a fridge, model number MBF1958, its a top fridge-bottom freezer. The freezer part leaked and spilled water that then froze onto the bottom of the freezer, which of course froze. I discovered this 1 month after the 1 year warranty ended. Maytag gave me a courtesy repair service guaranteed for 90 days. Of course, 2 weeks after the 90-day period ended, I have the same problem again.

Maytag Bravos XL HE MVWB725BW. Washer was fantastic at first. Then about at 14 months old, the spin cycle starting making loud noises. Called Maytag, they promptly dispatched a repair service. The estimate to fix the washer was $531. The repair man stated Maytag does NOT seal the bearings from the factory. They only rely on a rubber washer, poor design. Maytag was unwilling to help with a washer with their name on it that failed at 14 months in any shape or fashion. She mentioned that Maytag has a 2-10 warranty on the motor only (which is non-existent, its electromagnetic). This will be the last Maytag that I ever intend to purchase.

I purchased this washer three years ago. It worked fine, but all of a sudden the washer stopped spinning and was not following any of the cycles. Of course it was out of warranty. The repairman states the computer board on the washer is fried and will cost $400 to replace. Several stores have stopped selling Maytag because of quality issues. No more Maytag for me.

I purchased a french door Maytag refrigerator in Dec. 2009. We have never had decent ice. Icemaker is in the door and the seal does not keep the ice cavity cold enough. After many, many service calls and a replacement refrigerator, I was told to dump the ice twice a week and get ice out of the dispenser all day long. Really? All day long? It is model #bmft2771web1. They will not take care of this problem. It is a defect but they will not take responsibility for it. I now have a problem with my Maytag double oven! The temp on the bottom oven is 25 to 50 degrees off. I am waiting for my dishwasher and microwave to be next. I will never buy another Maytag. Buyer beware. I have to buy my ice from 7-Eleven. Thats why I bought a $ 2,100 refrigerator, so I can get my ice elsewhere!

Good deal, recommended by dealer friend. Front loaders, high efficiency, 12 years or so. Finally needs new bearings on the washer. Replaced electronic board 5 years ago. High repair costs would be the worst which is related to low-quality construction. I expect my next pair to last as long as the last 1. Full size, not stackable but oversized drums. Relatively low water usage, lots of different settings for different loads for washing and drying, automatic water level and wrinkle guard.

Like everyone else got that French door fridge and was also duped on that 1 yr warranty - a 95 dollar repair visit for a 485 repair job on a 1200 dollar purchase. Shame on them. Im gonna fix my new floor and replace that frozen bottom, leaking on the left, non-working ice maker 2 yr old refrigerator. Very disappointed with the whole thing and sorry for all of our losses.

I wish I had found this website before I bought my new Maytag washer and dryer from Home Depot on March 7, 2018. I replaced a 30 year old Maytag washer that I should have kept. I wash two loads a week so has not been used that much and now it will not drain. I tried everything, canceled the cycle out, checked the circuit breaker, unplugged it, removed the clothing, bucketed out the excess water, tried the drain and spin cycle, etc. Just will not drain or spin. Repairman is coming next week... Still under first year warranty but if it is not the “fault” of Maytag I was told there will be a $90+ minimum service charge.

I also purchased a Maytag refrigerator model #MBR1953YES3 at Home Depot less than 2 yrs. ago. A year had not passed and I noticed the freezer starting to freeze up. Water started to leak from the bottom freezer. My husband had to break chunks of ice that clogged the drain but still, it continues to freeze. We hired a certified technician to clean the drain but a few days later, a puddle of water appeared all over our kitchen. Now we have a towel to stop the water from coming under the refrigerator. I thought when I was buying a Maytag, I was buying the best. I now know that, it was the biggest mistake. I will think twice before ever considering buying a Maytag again.

Maytag washer Purchased December 2016. Washer is very slow: runs 1 hour plus. Wash takes a VERY long time. Small load only. Heavy loads go to Laundromat. Maytag does not clean clothes, always MUSTY smelling. Cycle OFTEN does not drain tub And forced to use Drain, Spin cycle to drain tub. Wrinkle cycle ties clothes in knots. Using AFRESH to clean tub makes no difference in foul odor. One service call, error codes found, computer reset. Repairman said that the MACHINE WORKS AS DESIGNED. Repairman said that any tiny bit of debris can cause washer to clog and fail to drain. At best clothes always wet, slow to dry. My old Whirlpool washed any sized load. Clothes always clean and fresh. I used laundry only when we had power outage. LIKELY WILL PUT THIS ON THE CURB. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS MACHINE.

The only complaint is the lights on the bottom quit working about a month after we purchased. It was nice to light up the stovetop when cooking. Now it’s slightly dark. I have gotten used to this. We spent about $8000 on all the matching Maytag appliances we purchased. I would love to replace all but not in the budget. I am a dissatisfied Maytag customer.

I told the customer service agent that Id be happy with an estimate of any parameter: the maximum water demand for any cycle, the minimum, the average any ballpark estimate would be great! My goal is to change in a meaningful way our weekly water use. How much does it matter if I do my familys laundry once vs. twice per week? Is it any more water-efficient to run one large load vs. two small ones? The Customer Service agents would offer only a scripted response to my query. Could they tell me the minimum or maximum amount of water used (on average) by any of the cycles? Any cycle any condition, just an estimate, please. A universal it depends was all I could extract.The scripted answer? The amount of water used depends on the sensor and the exact conditions. Well, yes, of course; I dont expect a specific amount. Just as the amount of gas used by a car depends on the length of a trip and the speed driven, the amount of water used per cycle will vary, but nevertheless we know, more or less, how much gas is used by a Toyota Camry on a trip between New York and the Maytag Customer Service office in Benton Harbor, Michigan. I noted that, if Maytag claims to build high efficiency (HE) machines, then they must be HE in comparison to something, right? -- otherwise how could they claim that these machines used less water? Less than... what?** insisted that no one at Maytag could tell me the answer. He asked, What reason could Maytag have not to disclose this information? I know this isnt the answer you want to hear, but its simply not available. Not even a range of water use per cycle required/solicited/demanded by the sensor? Can Maytags engineers be so indifferent that they never tested any cycle for its water use, but instead they just imagine that, by virtue of its mysterious sensor, it was lower than the use by their non-efficient machines? Your help in getting to the bottom of what felt like an act of stonewalling would be highly appreciated!

I’ve had this new stove just over a week. Used 3 times (I just moved). I have cooked on staying already on the ceramic top. I’ve had a ceramic top stove for over 20 years with barely a mark in it. Terrible. I’ve left a message with the store with no reply.

This is the most horrible washer ever. Within 3 months it would not go beyond sensing mode and never fill or wash. Tech came and fixed it... 3 times. It still happens and I have to jiggle it all around to activate it. Clothes are never clean, dog hair is never washed out... My broken old agitator machine was taken to the dump & I wish I had it back! How do the stores give this machine a good rating?? I cant do light quick washes, I have to wait forever... Our water bill is 2x higher than ever because if I dont fill the tub with deep water, the clothes dont even all get wet. Hate, hate, hate this thing.

I own a Maytag MDB9150AWB dishwasher which isnt covered under current recalls. Yesterday, I heard a loud pop sound, and it stopped working (also popped the circuit breaker). After taking the door apart, we found burnt wires at the bottom of the door close to where they bend to go under the dishwasher.I called Maytag to find out if they would do anything, since this seemed like a defect in the materials used. They wont offer anything!

Purchased washer in Jan 2013. Average usage is 1 load per week. Last week the washer started leaking from the rear left side. A service call discovered that the bleach dispenser was filling up with water and overflowing. Bleach dispenser?? I never use it! Seems that the new bleach dispenser hose line has a relief valve whereas the original part did not. Internet research has confirmed that this problem is very common with this make and model. However, a call to Maytag requesting what compensation, if any, would be available resulted in a response that basically was too bad... so sad... cant do anything for you! Seriously? An apparent common, known problem and all they can say is we understand your problem. Needless to say that will definitely be the last lonely repairman Maytag that this household will purchase.

On my 3rd circuit board for a MDB7749SBMO MODEL dish washer. The people at Maytag are people that wont even talk to you about it. How many people have to complain before theres a recall on a faulty ribbon cable.

We have a Maytag Gemini Double Oven Range Model MGR6775ADW. This is a gas range and it was purchased in 2006. This past Saturday afternoon after cleaning the dishes, the igniters on the range starting ticking on their own. I checked to make sure the knobs were not on and they werent. The ticking finally stopped after about 2 minutes. After the ticking stopped, we planned on going out for a walk. Fortunately we didnt. In about 10 minutes after the igniters quit ticking, the range burst into flames. Flames were in the top oven and shooting out the vent holes and the holes where the knobs are located. Coal black smoke was also pouring out of the vents. I quickly pulled the stove away from the wall to prevent the cabinets from starting on fire and I pulled the plug to shut off electricity from the stove. The flames subsided shortly after pulling the plug. The kitchen and house smelled of burning wire insulation and plastic. After doing some research on the internet, I found out that many other people have had the same problem. I reported this to Maytag Customer Service and they wanted to send a repair technician to fix it. I told them I didnt want it fixed but wanted it out of my house. I told them I didnt trust the range since some people reported they had it fixed and the fire occurred again. I wouldnt be able to sleep or go out anywhere knowing that the kitchen range could erupt into flames at any time. The factory authorized repair technician, from A&E, did come to inspect the damage and to report back to Maytag on his findings. He admitted that he wouldnt even trust the range in his house. After paying $1300 for this range and only getting 6 yrs. of use, I feel that we deserve some restitution from Maytag on this badly designed and dangerous piece of equipment they have been selling. Do not buy the Maytag Gemini range. This is a bad and dangerous product.

I love the functionality of this Maytag refrigerator. The inside is so nice and big, I can almost fit anything into it. When I need to make a lot of food for a lot of people, this refrigerator really foots the bill.

Purchase of what we thought was high quality Maytag dishwasher. Paid $600 and $250 to get it installed, which was really just to take out the old dishwasher we wish now we had kept, and plug in the new one. After 2 years, repairs needed to replace the control panel and key pad must be replaced, cost $340 plus labor. We will never buy Maytag again. Called their hotline, 800-877-6777. They cannot offer any help. Called the co. we bought it from, a Maytag dealer, Haleys Maytag of Antigonish, Nova Scotia. They too offered nothing except to sell us parts... control panel and key pad. Called lawyer who has class action suit now against Maytag, Eppsteiner & Florica. They are not representing customers who live in Canada, only U.S.My recommendation to Maytag dealer who only sells Maytags, Haleys Maytag of Antigonish, Nova Scotia, find another company to represent. Maytag is a real loser. Never again purchase a Maytag, and I told 10 people who will tell 10 people... who will tell 10 people. Our model number... same as all of yours... the loser MDB6709AWW1. Dont waste your money buying this overpriced dishwasher that will then require you to spend more money every 2 years on a Control panel and Key pad that are defective from the factory.

Bought a Maytag French door refrigerator MFT2976AEM01 in August 2013. Started having problems before the refrigerator was a year old. I called to get it serviced and it took 4 months to get a repairman to check it out. He fixed one part and then ordered another part that he needed which took 3 months to get. After he replaced that part the refrigerator continued to have problems. The serviceman has been out to repair my unit 6 times so far. He has no confidence in the Service Engineers from Maytag. They recommended yet another part be replaced, however now Maytag will not cover the parts cost.They offered to let me buy a new fridge at a discount. After spending about $2700 in August 2013, I dont have the $ to spend again for a refrigerator. My refrigerator is so loud it has been waking me up for about a month now and I am sick and tired of it. Shame on Maytag for having such terrible customer service! I will never ever ever recommend a Maytag because this has been a nightmare!

I purchased this new a year and 4 months ago and have had nothing but issues. We thought it cooked slow or cooked high/low but couldnt be sure if we were just imagining it until we had family come down at Christmas and complain about how slow the top burners are and why is it taking so long to boil water. Then again family for Easter where they cooked three days in a row and they complained that our top oven either burns or under-cooks the food which we had noticed but presumed we just mistimed a lot of food. Just recently the bottom oven wont heat past 350 and just constantly says preheating. The top oven followed suit shortly after. Nothing past 350.

Fridge model # MSF25D2EAB00. I have had the fridge 3 years and 2/3 shelves have crumbled to pieces, the compressor has gone, the ice bucket crumbled, the ice maker stopped working, once ice maker was fixed it got stuck on crush, and now I am trying to order another shelf because it has also crumbled like the rest and this is in a household of 1 person! I am just getting the run around... I have been redirected to 3 different numbers now (800-344-1274, 866-368-6478, and 877-468-2371) and now I had a rude customer service rep so I asked if I could speak with someone else and I am now on eternal rot on hold. Pretty sure he didnt even transfer me and Im just sitting on hold on his line while he is laughing. Time to hang up and try again another day. #un**believableI was also told that if I purchased the extended warranty plan that it would cover the crappy shelves in the future so I did and now they are telling me it doesnt cover them and it only gives me a discount on them. Purchased washer in Nov. 2014. Remodeled house. Moved in on May 2 2015. This washer failed in just 3 washes. Pump froze up. Now it is august 5 2015 washer did it again. Model MVWC200BW. It appears this will be the 3rd pump. There seems to be something here. If it stays together in order to keep this washer I have to buy extended warranty. THESE PUMPS COST 100.00 PLUS INSTALLATION. MAYTAG dont seem to see this as a problem but as a consumer it is very well a problem. I am a electrician by trade and deal with pumps and motors ac/dc. This is a problem.

Fire Danger. We had a power outage and my Maytag gas range/double oven (Model: MGR6875ADS) was dead after the power came back on. We figured it was the control board and braced for the expense to replace it. A few days later, I plugged the oven back in just to see if it would work and it did! The control panel came back on and we were up and running. The good news end there. On Christmas Eve, we came home to a house full of smoke with fire alarms buzzing. A butcher block style cutting board that was on top of the range with Santas cookies on it was on fire. Twenty more minutes and the house would have been gone.

Maytag Centurian is a terrible product. I dont think the designers of this model have ever washed and dried a load of clothes. Washer problems: The lid (top loading) locks so user unable to determine if the correct amount of detergent is being used. There is an unlock button, but it takes quite a long time to unlock (maybe 15 seconds), then an even longer time (seems like a minute or 2 to restart). The machine is LOUD and at one point in the cycle BANGS. I actually returned the first as defective, but when the 2nd machine made the same noise, I was told, no, thats the way it is. It seems to take much longer to wash a load than my previous machine. The Power Wash tears my clothes. Even the regular wash puts holes in my thin tee shirts after a few washes. Really had to get spots out. I almost have to hand wash to get the spots out BEFORE putting in the machine. Dryer Problems: Takes 70 minutes or more to dry a normal load with a couple of towels. The cover to the lint catcher doesnt seem to be properly sealed. Lint particles get all over the top of my dryer. I bought this Washer/Dryer combo last year. Im annoyed every time I do laundry.

Front load washer. When load is done. Removing is one long string of clothes... Is a large load washer which I like. But you cannot add any items after you close the door. And you always forget something that needs washing.

I paid top dollar, $1229.00 to be exact and the parts and labor are $659.00 with no guarantee that there wont be further problems. Technician told me that this is typical of Maytag products. Contacted Maytag and they told me to take a hike and have a nice day. I will attempt to get some help from the place of purchase, Hamai Appliance, Maui, Hawaii.

I have the model with a smaller oven on top. I use it about 98% of the time so Im not wasting energy having to heat a larger oven space. I also like the fact that I can clean one oven. The larger oven is used when I cook turkeys. I can cook many dishes at a time, by using the smaller oven for dressing or cakes.

Purchased my Maytag Bravo MVWX500XWO 4 years ago. While still under warranty I had to call for service once. I felt based on the Maytag reputation I didnt need to extend the warranty. WRONG!! My Maytag first started with the loud and fast spinning. Like it was about to explode! Then my washer started leaking. I thought I was having plumbing problems, so I called a plumber... wasnt the plumbing. My washer wasnt draining out completely so I finally called an appliance repairmen who immediately knew what the problem was ($109.90) for a 15 minute review. The leak was from the bottom of the washer... the seal around the transmission cracked, broke or whatever causing water to drain out in my garage. Also the main control board wasnt working. Repairman said it would cost me $700 to repair!! Really?!! My machine was practically new! Without hesitation the repairman said for me to call the Whirlpool/Maytag 800 number and they would offer me another washer for 50% off at their online outlet. Repairman said this always happens... Why would I want another Maytag or Whirlpool!! Please do not buy the Maytag Bravo... Can you imagine if this happened with a car purchased... 4 years and then having to buy another car??!! Not reliable or worth your money!!

We bought this Maytag Bravos top loading washer 2 years ago after having bad luck with a front loading Maytag. Maytag was always the top brand to buy so I thought it was the style washer but now I believe Maytag has failed to keep their standard of quality high. My clothes come out of the washer almost dry and full of lint. Even though I use the HE wash soap, it does rinse out of the clothes. Dark clothes come out with a noticeable scum so I suppose the lighter clothes do, as well, I just cant see it. I sometimes have to wet the clothes down to get them clean and I always have to double rinse them which defeats the whole economy issue. Im not happy with this washer and would not recommend anyone to buy a Maytag brand washer.

Built a new house, bought new appliances for the kitchen. Like others, did all the research, wanted to buy American made. Wow, did we ever make a mistake. Refrigerator is just over 2 years old. It is worthless. Repairman, Maytag Certified, says that it appears to be internal problems and probably come from the factory that way. He suggested I contact Maytag directly and they should be able to make things right for me and my family.So, I called, sat on hold for 10-15 minutes, and was finally connected to a customer service employee. I explained all that I knew about the problem, she pulled the repairmans notes and the notes of the technician that had spoken with the repairman. After reviewing the file, she informed me that my 2-year-old refrigerator was out of warranty and there was nothing that could be done.What ever happened to American Made companies standing behind their product? I didnt spend $2000 on a refrigerator that would last me 2 years. I expected 7-10 years, AT LEAST! I expected a company with the name MAYTAG to show some shame for creating a piece of junk and charging a customer this much money for something they know is obviously flawed from the factory. Shame? No. Guilt? None whatsoever.Caution to those considering a Maytag product. Run away! Go find a more reputable company. Go find a company who views customer service and quality products as a priority. I didnt purchase the cheapest refrigerator on purpose. I paid extra for American made and what I thought was a quality product sold by a quality company. Reality has now set in.

We are on our 2nd Maytag refrigerator in 6 years and both units have failed. Maytag will not stand behind their product and the service company declined to come out to look at the unit because we were upset and contacting the BBB. So we have spent thousands on 2 refrigerator units that have lasted 2.5 to 3 years a piece. If I could give no stars I would and I would advise to look at other companies and models.

Both Sears and Maytag have lost my business FOR GOOD! We purchased a Maytag Bravo XL # MGDB980W0 2 years ago. We called within the 1 year warranty period via Sears, they sent a tech out then charged us. The dryer kept shutting off before clothes were dry. We thought the problem resolved, then reoccurred after the 1 yr period. Neither Sears or Maytag would stand behind the product citing it has been discontinued due to problems. Well... yeah, no kidding. We paid BGE energy efficiency company to come out and evaluate it. They tweaked the exhaust vent and cleaned out the duct, however, they said we needed a new sensor. My wife bought a new sensor, installed it, and the dryer still wont work right! (Shutting off prior to clothes being dry). BOTTOM LINE UP FRONT: I researched and bought a new gas LG dryer on sale at Home Depot and shelled out $849 unnecessarily thanks to shoddy product and lack of company integrity. DO NOT BUY SEARS OR MAYTAG!!!

Weve had our Maytag dishwasher for less than 4 years when the control panel quit. The repairman came today. He was here 10 minutes and it cost us half as much as a new dishwasher. Its just the two of us and we use the dishwasher once every 4-5 days. Almost laughed when the repairman said the part and labor was under warranty for 90 days! There is no quality control anymore. Side by side refrigerator model #msd255oveu01. I bought this refrigerator Apr. 2011... The 1st year, the ice kept sticking in machine or freezing up. Now they have had to replace the modules 3 times. Once fall of 2012 and and again yesterday, 3/19/14 and they had to come back today to replace that one. I have called Maytag and they wont stand behind it since the warranty is over. I have told them that this is an ongoing thing with the ice maker and I have had to have it serviced ever since I have bought it. I told them from the git go that the ice maker needed replace. The ice dispenser also drops an ice cube on the floor on occasion and if I use crushed ice it jams up. This product is defective and is not a good product.

What a disappointment. I guess this is why we no longer see that commercial about the Maytag repairman being bored. Because now, he is out fixing these pieces of shirt. I had a stroke last year in August and my children got together and bought me a washer. And after the third use this thing started messing up and I had to call in someone. Now the warranty is up and I am sitting here with a new broken down machine.

I purchase the Maytag dishwasher Model: MDB7749SBM from Home Depot in Plano Tx around June of 2013. The start/resume and cancel/drain button lights either flash or wont turn off and keeps trying to restart the wash cycle. I have only had this DW for 1 1/2 years. That’s pathetic! I went through the manual and tried everything it recommended but it didnt work. So far the unit still cleans dishes. Based on all the reviews I have seen on these Maytag dishwashers with the same issue, you would think there would be a recall. All the appliances in my home are Maytags and Whirlpools. Maytag and Whirlpool are now the same company. Depending on how they handle this issue will determine which appliances I buy in the future.

Maytag 765 Washer - What a disappointment after having a Maytag set for 2 decades only to get a new one that isnt worth much quality wise. 2 new washers in 2 weeks due to a ratcheting noise that they both have. The solution??? Have a third service call only to hear, replace it (which we did) or replace the transmission. The 3rd call coming up will be the same. What good is a new transmission going to fix it when the last 2 machines had New transmissions. Quality??? I dont think so. Oh, I had to buy the second replacement in order to get credit for the first one. This was at Lowes. Is there even a quality washer out there anymore?

Bought a new Maxima washer in January. Worked for one week. Got error codes and electronics board shut down. Contract serviceman says board should have reset after turning off. Ordered new board and it is missing one of the electrical wire connector plugins. Maytag/Whirlpool is having a problem with these boards.Three weeks without a washer. Two days off work. When it goes out again, days off work will be close to what I paid for it. Thinking I may cut my future losses and buy another brand when in-transit board goes out.

We purchased the Bravos XL in May 2017.. It quit working on April 30, 2019. Maytag sent me a form letter that basically said I was out of luck.. that sometimes things go wrong with a product or manufacturing. The fact that it wasnt 2 years old yet meant nothing to them. I would like to join or start a class action. This washer should not be sold.

We bought the Maytag Washer and Dryer set about two years ago from Home Depot. We have had to have the washer repaired several times in that two years, most recently for a cracked mother board controller unit. The same day we had to have the washer repaired, we also had to have the dryer repaired. Lint and dust is not properly filtered out by the filter and accumulates inside the dryer where it should not be, up against the gas heating unit. The repairman indicated that it was badly scorched and that we were lucky it had not caught on fire. Another customer of his had the same unit, which burst into flames one day when she had left the house with the dryer going, causing a house fire. The quality of these items is highly questionable. Having to spend nearly $600 to replace a cracked mother board only two years after purchase simply is unacceptable.

Maytag dishwasher #MDB 9750AWQ - I am now on the fourth control panel and in less than one year, the present one is starting to fail. The third one failed in less than a year also! I have read the reports of others and apparently, this is not just my dishwasher. Maytag owes its customers a recall of this inferior machine.

Our washing machine is 3 years old. About a year ago we started to see hairline cracks on the plastic lid in the bottom corners by the hinges. These have now become huge and pieces of plastic are breaking off every time we do a load of laundry. Maytag (under the Whirlpool brand) will not replace the lid for us. We paid $130 for a tech to come out and confirm what we already knew - that we need a new lid. And now the parts and labor will cost over $550. We have called customer service several times and spoken to a supervisor and the best they can offer us is to pay for the part which still leaves us to pay over $400 out of pocket to repair a $600 washing machine. This seems to be a common problem and is all over Google, yet Maytag is not willing to help their customers.

We purchased a Model MDB8949SAWO Maytag dishwasher in September 2012. The control panel failed in November 2015. We wrote a letter to Maytag (Whirlpool) expressing our disappointment and received a call from Maytag customer service. The Customer Service representative informed us because we contacted our local repair facility directly, no reimbursements would be provided. During a subsequent follow-up call, I was informed by the Customer Service representative that Maytag manufactures quality products and that no premature failures were occurring with Maytag dishwashers. The Customer Service Representative stated that we should have purchased an extended warranty which lends some support to the fact that Maytag dishwashers are essentially junk. Never again will we purchase any Whirlpool products.

I purchased a Maytag dishwasher Model # MDB4949SDE1 from Home Depot April 30th 2015. This dishwasher does not clean the dishes no matter what cycle you use. After 4 hours and 29 minutes I open the dishwasher to find residue on my so-called clean dishes. Every time I use it I have to re-wash or rinse the dishes by hand before I can put them away.I have spoken with Maytag on several occasions concerning this matter. I have used every detergent on the market. Maytag says you have to use jetdry, and liquid detergent which I did and it made no difference. The latest suggestion was that the water from my water heater was not hot enough which is set on 140 degrees. The customer service rep. ask me how far the water heater is from the dishwasher and I replied approximately 14 foot. She suggested I turn the faucet to my sink on before I turn the dishwasher on so that the hot water is present as soon as I turn it on. This also did not work. They sent a kid out today that turn the dishwasher on for five minutes empty and said well everything seems to be working properly. I dont know what to tell you, yet there is soap residue in the bottom of the dishwasher right now. Do not purchase this dishwasher. It does not clean the dishes. It just uses power and water.
