My Maytag dishwasher is 1.5 years old and wont start. The Maytag call center said they couldnt help me except to sell me a service warranty for $269. Then she wanted to argue with me when I asked her to pass on my dissatisfaction with their products to her supervisor. I thought Maytag was a good product. For what I pay for parts and labor, I can get a new dishwasher. She said do I expect not to have any problems with that dishwasher. I will never buy anything Maytag again. They do not stand behind their products. Plus, it sounds like many people have had the same problem with their Maytag dishwasher. This part is defective. (I am assuming it is a control panel problem.) Since corporations are people now is there someone I push into my dishwasher so they will fix it. LOL.

Although this refrigerator is 10 yrs old it really performs well. I like the ice maker as it hardly ever hangs up, the freezer works great and the refrigerator part is really super in the veg drawer and the meat and cheese drawer. All in all this was a great buy.

Save money. I have always had Maytag & loved them until I bought the Bravos xl top load washer. The salesperson insisted it was a large capacity energy efficient w/ great maintenance record -- greatly misleading. The water level does not rise enough to effectively clean or rinse so clothes do not get cleaned or detergent doesnt rinse out thus allowing only 2 to 3 towels or jeans to wash per load. Such ineffective cleaning cycles create the ongoing need for loads to be rewashed and be extremely small, yielding credence to other consumers’ accusations of being mislead and false advertising of xl capacity. As such, it takes hours to wash a family of threes clothes. The machine shakes like crazy and clothes get ruined as they get twisted and tangled into each other ripping, tearing, misshaping and ruining them.

This washer is no better than a glorified garbage can. Maytag AKA Whirlpool should be ashamed to put their name on this product. Like others before me on this website my washing machine sounds like a jet is taking off in my basement. When I contacted a serviceman, he told me the drum seal is broken and the bearings are shot. I have the machine since April 11, 2011. Not even three years to date! I do not have an extended warranty so shame on me to believe that a 900.00 machine should last well beyond 3 years. Unfortunately, I am getting the run around from Whirlpool as all of you have experienced. This is criminal. Not only are we as consumers being defrauded by irresponsible manufacturing but these huge hunks of metal and plastic are polluting our environment. Our parents had washing machines and dryers for as long as 20 to 25 years and they actually cleaned clothes. We now have high efficiency machines that destroy our clothing and leave them dirty and wrinkled. They are now made to break in 5 years and from what I see on this website the average for breakdown is becoming 3 years. Do you think that this is not by design? The service call turns out to be more than the value of the machine, so the repairman doesnt even profit as consumers refrain from costly repair and repurchase. The only profitability is gained by the manufacturers that keep pushing out junk to the consumer. These manufacturers should be accountable like the American auto-manufacturers became accountable for the junk they manufactured at the expense of a whole city, Detroit.

Absolutely the worst washer I have ever had. I have read some of the other reviews, wish I was smarter and checked this out before spending my hard earned money to buy this washer. My washer also is rusting at the top where the bleach goes. I never close the lid when not in use my basement is dry AND I never use bleach??? My clothes come out they are a tangled up mess. When I go to hang them they are partly dry. It isnt as though I stuff the washer NEVER put more than 8 shirts in at a time yet they all come out with dry streaks like that part of the clothing never even got wet. We all know what happens when you leave a tissue in your pocket and it goes through the washer... Well not with this washer the tissue sometimes came out as dry as it went in. HORRIBLE product. I want the old agitator/I SET THE WATER LEVEL type back. It takes forever to get laundry done. They should take these OFF the market and give us poor consumers some cash back.

Paint bubbling & peeling off appliance: I purchased new double convection oven from Lows (Maytag). One month after delivery, paint began to bubble and peel off. Maytag takes the position that as long as the oven functions properly, the paint is simply cosmetic and the warranty does not cover cosmetic problems. Maytags position is that even if all the paint peels off but the appliance still functions properly, too bad for you!

Model# MVWC200BW1 bought in 2015 tangles/stretches clothing. This machine is/has been a true disappointment. The agitator wings are not attached at bottom allowing clothing to get caught and as the agitator turns, so does the clothing causing stretching and severe tangling. Poor design compared to the agitator that would rise and fall - those got clothing clean and did not ruin them. I cannot trust this machine to moderately cost clothing for fear of their demise. The lock-down mode is not convenient for those last minute added items. Will not be buying Maytag/Whirlpool ever again when another machine is purchased. This is a piece of rubbish!

We purchased a refrigerator in December 2010 with a 12-month warranty. Since the refrigerator was delivered, we have experienced nothing but problems. Most recently, there was a problem with the auto defrost causing us to lose all our food stored. It also caused water damage to our floor. We scheduled maintenance with a contracted company through MayTag. After three scheduled visits, which made me miss 3 and a half days of work resulting in an additional loss of over $300, our refrigerator is still broken and they just want us to schedule another maintenance visit. When calling Maytag customer service we are literally told, “your loss, there is nothing we can do to resolve your issue, we can only continue to send out maintenance.” I am so disappointed in this company, the product, the customer service, maintenance service etc.

Side by side refrigerator model #msd255oveu01. I bought this refrigerator Apr. 2011... The 1st year, the ice kept sticking in machine or freezing up. Now they have had to replace the modules 3 times. Once fall of 2012 and and again yesterday, 3/19/14 and they had to come back today to replace that one. I have called Maytag and they wont stand behind it since the warranty is over. I have told them that this is an ongoing thing with the ice maker and I have had to have it serviced ever since I have bought it. I told them from the git go that the ice maker needed replace. The ice dispenser also drops an ice cube on the floor on occasion and if I use crushed ice it jams up. This product is defective and is not a good product.

The Neptune Front Load Washing Machine I purchased in December of 2007 started sounding like a jet taking off, about three months ago. The noise has become unbearable. The repair person said that the whole drum needs to be replaced and it is not worth fixing. Are you kidding me? This was an expensive washing machine and now we have to get a new one? We cannot afford to get a new washing machine. We need an explanation of why this would happen and from the other complaints I have read on the Maytag website, we are not the only ones. This is the second time something has happened to this washer, the first time, it was under warranty (only a few months into the purchase and the pump was bad and was replaced). What is the company doing to help people with this faulty machine?

The oven works. However, there are two safety issues. First, the flat metal panel above the air vent and below the instrument panel gets extremely HOT. This is the location we can easily touch, especially when we operate the instrument panel. We almost burned our hands. Second, the edges of the unit are very SHARP. We almost cut our legs. These are serious safety issues. In addition, we/I tried to post a review at Maytag site pointing out these safety issues. The review was twice moderate (i.e., rejected). Even though I used to like Maytag, this experience changed my mind.

Does not rinse clothes or dispense adequate water. This is the worst washing machine I have ever owned. Dark clothes come out of washer with white dust/soap residue on them. Clothes often come out of washer dry - never touched by water in the wash cycle. The spin cycle knots the clothes into a heap. As for the dryer, pulling out the lint filter leaves lint particles all over the top of the dryer. Poor design.

My Maytag dishwasher (MDB7749AWM) stopped working at only 15 months. I had a technician check it and he said its the control panel not responding after he opened the door panel. Its when I searched online for replacement part I learned about the defective control panel. So I decided to forgo repair and bought a new dishwasher. I feel the manufacturer should be held responsible and called the number found on the internet, 858-646-8500, about a class action lawsuit filed in California federal court. The lawyer handling the case called me back that day explaining to me its a long road before the case qualifies for class lawsuit. Because I live in Texas, he will need someone to represent Texas plaintiffs in order to include Texas in the national settlement down the road. I said, I dont expect anything but would like to see a class action. Since I have no use of the defective dishwasher, he asked if I am willing to send the machine to him at his expense. I said yes. For all of you complaining about the defective dishwasher, I suggest you to call the number to join the lawsuit. Even though we may not see a penny for long, long time, its the only way to punish the deceptive business.

Very disappointed with my 2014 purchase of model MDB8959SBS3 dishwasher. In fact it is no longer in service. We used the dishwasher approximately twice a day. The wheels on the pull out racks starting falling apart in the first 6 months. Then the soap dispenser failed. It would not shut. We replaced both the wheels and the dispenser only to find ourselves with the exact same problems in a matter of months. My hubby got really good at fixing both of these items. The final straw was earlier this year as when we turned it on the motor/water pump started making a screeching sound. Never had to replace an appliance that was only four years old in my lifetime. Just very disappointed with the quality of Maytags dishwasher.

I had a Maytag dishwasher (made by Whirlpool) that after 4 months of ordering wrong parts, parts arriving damaged, and parts that were re-engineered and did not match up, the dishwasher could not be fixed. The extended warranty people (AIG) promised me twice on a recorded telephone call that they would exchange my dishwasher, and after many many heated telephone conversations was given a 20 minute lecture on how the word exchange does not mean they will replace it. The frustration ultimately overtook my misspent loyalty in anything made by Whirlpool and I decided to accept the buyout of my extended warranty contract, at a loss of hundreds of dollars to me - well worth getting rid of that dishwasher and any further affiliation with Whirlpool corporation. Absolutely horrible customer service. Unbelievably god awful treatment. I dont know what happened to customer service at Whirlpool, but my dealing with them has convinced me that the term is an oxymoron at Whirlpool. Horrible horrible customer service. I have never been treated so poorly in my life. I truly dont know how they can still be in business if they treat their customers like they did me.

In October 2016 I purchased a New Maytag washer (Model# MVWC565FWO) from LOWES. I bought an extended 5 year warranty with it as well. I have my invalid, totally incapacitated Sister living with me. The situation requires several loads of washing each day due to her conditions. TWO WEEKS after starting to use it we began having issues with the washer. It would stop in the cycle, lights flashing, only way to restart is to unplug it, move control from wash cycles setting to drain and spin... then within the next 3-4 loads it would do it again. Sometimes it sat for awhile I would smell like an electronics Odor getting hot... I called Lowes. They replaced it. Approximately 3 weeks later the NEW washer began doing the SAME THING...Lowes would not replace it with a different Model or brand... only send a repairman out. Long story short, he has been here 4 times, replaced the Computer Control with NO IMPROVEMENT!!! NOW Lowes is sending him out again and saying that if this doesnt fix the problem they will refund my money... My problem with it all is this... IF MAYTAG is having these type issues, WHY PRAY TELL, has a recall or solution been found and passed on to the repair folks??? I bought this Maytag due to #1 Reputation, #2 It was Assembled in the USA, NOT South Korea like the Samsung with recalls... Now all this is going on. I WANT A WASHING MACHINE THAT WORKS RIGHT!!! This is totally unacceptable and totally uncalled for. WHY could these Govt agencies and Manufacturers not LEAVE the washers alone? Computer technology... PLTTT. The old timers controls gave no problem in over 40 years of using them. Now this crap.

I purchased this set of Maytag Centennial Washer and Dryer from my local Home Depot in Dec. 2011. I havent had a repairman come out yet, but I am extremely dissatisfied with them. The washer is a problem because it doesnt seem to fill up with enough water to wash the clothes. Also if you want to add something to the washer that you forgot you stop it, and go to restart it again, and it starts removing all of your soap and water again. This is a waste of money, if you cannot stop it and start it again without it filling up again. I would not recommend anyone buying this HE washer & dryer. This is in reference to Maytag washer MVW7232HW0 that broke after 5 months. Maytag sent a technician out who claimed we needed to replace 3 parts. We waited almost a month for the parts to come in just to have the technician say that didnt fix the problem. We have been waiting a 1.5 months for a resolution with nothing in sight. Now we have to either way another TWO months for another part, buy a new washer and get refunded for the old one (but WE would be responsible for the almost $300 price difference it now is), or wait for a new washer to come in stock and Maytag will replace it. However according to them there are no washers in stock for the foreseeable future. This company has been a joke to deal with. I have everything recorded and will take this further.

We bought a new Maytag Bravo XL washer in 2015 under the understanding it has a 10 year warranty. Well it’s 2020 and it starting leaking. Called customer service and lost 3hours of my life waiting for a person. Keep in mind I’m pretty handy and work on spa, and pools. And can troubleshoot things like this. I found the problem on our washer looked up the part and number. When I finally got a person on the phone they wanted to send a technician out to verify what is wrong with it. I was all for that but then they said it would cost $100. I said no because I already know what’s wrong and just need the part so I could fix it. I knew the labor would not be covered under warranty so that’s why I didn’t really need the tech to come. After a few minutes Maytag finally says the unit is. It covered under warranty at all. I asked yes it is because it’s literally written all over the washer it has a 10year warranty. So then Maytag goes to say they only cover the drum and motor for 10 years. So now I’m stuck with a washer that leaks that was sold to us under the pretense of a 10year warranty for parts. And now having to buy $280 worth of parts and shipping to fix it. Maytag advertises that they have the best warranty and they never break as their commercials imply. So they represent themselves And their warranty falsely. Buyer beware. Maytag is shady. I’m guessing Whirlpool is part of them so please do your research before you buy. 1. Customer service doesn’t exist with them. (3hrs hold times.) 2. Misleading warranty coverage. 3. Will not call you back.4. Try to extort more money from you. ($100 to send a tech out to confirm what you already know.)DO NOT BUY!!! Learn from our mistake.

I had six service calls, one was a few months after purchase when under warranty for loud noise. I bought it in 08 and since then during the last 6 months, its freezing in the refrigerator. Service person is upset. I contacted corporate and they do not care and told me I should have bought their warranty. Yes, they had to be here when it was under warranty. Still freezing, they played with air hoses, replaced the temp panel and did everything they can, with no results. Theyre giving it one more try and it is going to be hooked up to the Silverado and put on I-75 with a sign on it. Do not buy from this company. Terrible service. I emailed CEO and no response. I just tossed a tomato and strawberry on the tile floor. Yes, buy American. They moved their plant from Indiana (union) to I think TN for non-union. You would be better off going to the river and washing your clothes with rocks. Piece of junk. Maytag will have you believe that the six inches of water this washer uses to clean a comforter is enough. I would like to know which individuals in the dept of energy thought this water saving feature was a novel idea. What use is a giant washer tub if it doesn’t have enough water. Sorry Maytag, my clothes used to come out clean with your old model, now I spend hours trying to figure out ways to get this washer to clean. They came and the order said nothing about a motherboard, which is what the tech person who came also said it needed. Now they will be here on the 7th of Oct - maybe. 12 days is highly unsatisfactory for refrigerator repair. They had 4 days to see that the provider had a motherboard before the serviceman wasted a trip. Ive spent $102 on dry ice and now Im going to lose the food anyhow. Add me to the long list of disgruntled buyers of a Maytag Dishwasher. Just like the other 488 people that similarly filed an unsatisfactory rating on this site I too am now on that list. And no surprise - the control panel ceased to function 13 months after I purchased the unit and one month after the manufacturers warranty expired. After brief inspection the problem was obviously a design error leading to premature wear of the electric ribbon in the handle. Phoned Maytag and they advised me it was the first theyd heard of this problem with the model. Only subsequently did I search to discover that the problem was so common it might be characterised as routine. Replace part was 8 weeks and Cdn $153, about 2x the US price. However they wouldnt ship it to me from the US. The repair isnt too difficult: 11 screws and a little patience if youre so inclined. Before installing take a few minutes to trim the plastic where the electronic ribbon strip passes from through the handle without clearance. Save yourself the same repair in another 13 months. Lesson learned - no more Maytag/Whirlpool dishwashers for us.

I have a Maytag front load washer, and it has been flashing codes since day
I have a Maytag front load washer, and it has been flashing codes since day one, smells like mold, does not spin water out, and at first, all Maytag could say is, Im using too much soap, the wrong soap, loading too full, and I have it on a stand that is sold with the washer that they dont recommend, after I paid $300.00 for it. Now, it is flashing an E3 code, and will not finish a cycle at all. Maytag wants money to fix the problem that thousands of consumers have, after paying over $1,000 for the machine. I will never purchase another Maytag product, for as long as I live.

We ordered a new Bravos washer and dryer at the end of November but due to delivery snafus, we did not have both until the second week of December. Just yesterday, both failed. Part of the drum on the washer ripped off, and the dryer just stopped running an hour later. I am used to getting a long life out of appliances. The old dryer was over 20 years old, and while the old washer was only 17 years old, I thought it would be nice to get a matched set.

We purchased a Maytag Centennial washing machine from a local business here
We purchased a Maytag Centennial washing machine from a local business here in Knoxville in 2013. My previous Maytag lasted seven+ years and I was very happy with it. It began to leak water and after two times of having water on the floor, we decided it had worn out and purchased another washer. We immediately wanted another Maytag since our previous one has lasted for quite a while. We bought the new Maytag Centennial washing machine in the Spring of 2011. This is May of 2013 and we have had to purchase another washing machine since the electrical board in ours went out. The replacement part is listed at $300+ and that is without labor to install. Needless to say, I am very unhappy that I have had to purchase another washer so soon... and did not buy a Maytag this time.

I just had an astonishing phone call with Maytag customer service (1-800-344-1274). My mind is boggled; my tongue is tied. Only Consumeraffairs.com can offer relief from the bleak, solitary misery engendered by this disorienting encounter. I called Maytag to seek information regarding the number of gallons used by any of the wash cycles of the Maytag BRAVOS series 300 (Model: MVWB450WQ2). I live in California, and like millions of others, Im curious as to what the maximum amount of water used per wash might be. I told the customer service agent that Id be happy with an estimate of any parameter: the maximum water demand for any cycle, the minimum, the average any ballpark estimate would be great! My goal is to change in a meaningful way our weekly water use. How much does it matter if I do my familys laundry once vs. twice per week? Is it any more water-efficient to run one large load vs. two small ones? The Customer Service agents would offer only a scripted response to my query. Could they tell me the minimum or maximum amount of water used (on average) by any of the cycles? Any cycle any condition, just an estimate, please. A universal it depends was all I could extract. The scripted answer? The amount of water used depends on the sensor and the exact conditions. Well, yes, of course; I dont expect a specific amount. Just as the amount of gas used by a car depends on the length of a trip and the speed driven, the amount of water used per cycle will vary, but nevertheless we know, more or less, how much gas is used by a Toyota Camry on a trip between New York and the Maytag Customer Service office in Benton Harbor, Michigan. I noted that, if Maytag claims to build high efficiency (HE) machines, then they must be HE in comparison to something, right? -- otherwise how could they claim that these machines used less water? Less than... what?** insisted that no one at Maytag could tell me the answer. He asked, What reason could Maytag have not to disclose this information? I know this isnt the answer you want to hear, but its simply not available. Not even a range of water use per cycle required/solicited/demanded by the sensor? Can Maytags engineers be so indifferent that they never tested any cycle for its water use, but instead they just imagine that, by virtue of its mysterious sensor, it was lower than the use by their non-efficient machines? Your help in getting to the bottom of what felt like an act of stonewalling would be highly appreciated!

Maytag is the worst washer company. I owned my washer for two years and I had two different problems with it and now I have a 3rd. The first was the same day they delivered the washer, I needed a wire harness. I should have returned it then but I didnt. The 2nd was six months after the first one. A wire came loose due to the washer shaking and the 3rd, Im not sure why it wont drain but the tub is full of water. I called Maytag and they really didnt care as long as they got their money. They referred me to three companies that fixes washer. Two of three was already out for this washer. If I didnt know any better I would think Maytag gets paid off for every customer they referred to these companies. I would never buy another Maytag Bravo or Whirlpool product. Im very dissatisfied with their Bravo washers. They lost a long time customer.

We have a purchased a Maytag two door refrigerator a few years ago despite my wifes repeated request not to buy any Maytag product. We had a bad experience with another Maytag product in the past. Now like many others we are experiencing the horrible nightmare of getting a water leakage from time to time that floods our tiled floor and it is getting worse and causing damage to floor and other kitchen cabinets that are anchored to the floor. We had a certified technician who suggested us to thaw the freeze and then reconnect it back. We did what we were told but that did not fix the problem. My wife found out that there had been 913 complaints from consumers on Maytag refrigerators. Why Consumer Affairs is doing nothing about it and why there is not a recall of Maytag refrigerators. We will never buy another Maytag product nor will we recommend others to buy. Enough is enough being discontent.

I purchased this dishwasher from Sears in July of 2013. Barely 3 years ago. The last few months the controls have been acting odd. The control lock would automatically just turn on at odd times. Yesterday when I hit normal cycle it went to a different cycle and had many other options lit. It would not start. Finally it went dark, no lights, no nothing. I see many people have had these types of issues with this type of Maytag dishwasher. Disappointing. A dishwasher should last longer than 3 years. Sears said they would send a repairman out but it would have been minimum $200 after it was all said and done. Id rather own a non-Maytag dishwasher so we went and bought a different brand.

We purchased our Maytag dishwasher less than a year ago and are very disappointed with the poorly designed quality of this product. We had a Maytag repairman look at our dishwasher and he told us that; the dishwasher cleans with enzymes in the dishwasher not water pressure, and we need to make sure the water in the kitchen faucet need to be hot before starting the dishwasher, we also need detergent, rinse aid, and citric acid added to each load. Adding all these products to the dishwasher does not fix a poorly designed product. This product does not clean the dishes, even with rinse aid the glasses come out cloudy. The dishwasher has a power blast button, it does not clean the dishes any better than the regular setting and it runs for four hours. We will never buy another Maytag product.

We purchased a front loading Maytag washer in January of 2011. We purchased an extended service plan in January of this year. I noticed a very loud noise and inappropriate operation during the spin cycle. I called the service plan, who contacted a repair service to come out and check my machine. I was told that there was a major problem that would be very expensive to fix and that the Assurant company would contact me in a few days. The company called and said that they would give me 75% of the value of the machine ($650) because fixing it was not economically feasible. I said that I did not want the money; I wanted the repair that I was guaranteed by my service contract. They referred me to the small print on the back of the sales letter. When I asked about any manufacturers warranty from Maytag (the washer was less than 2 years old), I was told that they had nothing to do with the manufacturer and I had to take that up with them. When I tried to call Maytag, they were decidedly unhelpful and referred me back to Assurant. There are several issues related to this event that I wish to complain about: 1) How dare a major company sell a thousand-dollar appliance that becomes unrepairable in less than 2 years and take no responsibility for the breakdown? There was obviously a defect in the machine that took over a year to show up (we are a household of 2 adults and did not overuse the machine). 2) How could a service contract issued under the Maytag name not be aware of parts covered by the manufacturer? 3) Should not the buyer of a service contract bearing the Maytag name be informed that it is not Maytag (the manufacturer) that is guaranteeing the product, but a third party?4) Should not the seller of a service contract be required to display the terms of the contract in a prominent place? The sales letter specifically states Repair or replace - If we cant repair your appliance due to a mechanical or or electrical breakdown, well replace it. The limits of coverage are in fact given in small print at the back of the letter and are on the contract, but this contradicts what is displayed prominently on the promotion letter. This is false advertising and should not be tolerated.

I purchased these appliances on 02-10-16 from Home Depot in Loganville Ga., for almost $2000.00. I filed the first repair call less than 3 weeks after delivery. The sensor panel was bad and had to be replaced. Now 8 months later the washer is not starting, AGAIN. The dryer will only dry one load a day or you get the AF code. This means that the dryer cannot push air over 5 or so and we need to have a vent booster fan (an additional $200.00) installed plus have an electrician run a new outlet. I returned to Home Depot with my complaint. Feeling that I have an inferior product, they tried to get Maytag to make it right. Maytag refused to offer any solutions whatsoever. Home Depot refunded a little over $300.00 for my inconvenience. The washer is an absolute ill-conceived piece of junk. It is ROUGH on clothing and does not remove soap. I started out with brand new (expensive) towels when I purchased this machine and 8 months later all of the hems have been snatched off and theyre unraveling and falling apart and are slowly becoming car wash towels. You cannot wash delicates in this machine and allow it to spin. Underwires in bras are badly misshaped or broken completely. You cannot wear them afterwards without being gouged by bent wires. The only way around this is to take away the spin cycle, but you better be ready with a clean garbage can to haul the dripping clothes elsewhere and hung up to drip dry. The washer has NEVER removed all of the soap from bed sheets. I have a dark gray set that show the soap best. Now I have to wash once with soap then wash again with no soap. This negates the machines being efficient.Unfortunately, I found the negative reviews AFTER buying the machine. My complaints are well known to Maytag, seeing has to how the same complaints are found online as far back as 8 years ago. I have been brand loyal for 30+ years to Whirlpool and thought that I was moving up with a Maytag, based on my parents 50 year experience... I was wrong! I will never purchase another Maytag product nor Whirlpool since Whirlpool now owns Maytag. I have researched and am of the opinion that Speed Queen is a far better product and plan to junk this set and replace them with Speed Queen.

I have purchased my top loader Bravos washing machine 3 1/2 years ago and I have had nothing but troubles with my machine. I have had to replace the motherboard twice and I constantly have that foul smell in all our clothes. I have to wash each load twice and still the smell doesnt come out. I have also complained numerous times about the water level not being correct, but they keep saying that is how the high efficiency machine is. I can watch my load washing because we have the clear lid which I like. But at the same time, it gets me really angry seeing how this doesnt clean clothes like it should. I dont believe that the water levels are right at all. I have clothes that dont even get turned over as they are washing and I have even smaller loads than before. I can only clean 4 adult pairs of jeans at one time and I still think that is too much. I clean my machine every time the red light turns on with the Affresh tablets and sometimes I run a clean cycle with just bleach. Maytag has done nothing to try and correct these problems. Its so sad that I have to take my clothes to the laundry mat to go wash them and there I have absolutely no problems. They have the HE front loaders and they have enough water to wash my clothes and I can actually see them being washed. I will never buy a Maytag washer or dryer again. How sad you have all these complaints and no one to help you fix or correct them the right way.

Please save your money and do not purchase a the Bravos XL MCT Washer and Dryer! I am sickened by the fact that I spent $1,800 on the biggest pieces of junk there ever was. Youd think a company like Maytag would be able to build a product that worked properly. We are getting ready for our FIFTH visit by a service repair company that will only plug in their computers and say nothing is wrong. Well here is what is wrong: Washer does not rinse all of the soap and I have many, MANY, pieces of dark clothing that are ruined because of the white streaks all over. I have done EVERYTHING the service guys have said to do; use less soap; use the deep water wash cycle, etc. etc. There are only two of us in the household so my average load size fills the EXTRA LARGE drum maybe half full so all their advice hasnt worked. It does not rinse the water out of a load of towels (remember there are only two us so not that many towels) and I have to run it through a rinse and spin cycle. Waste of time, energy, AND money. I washed a single coverlet and had to run it through a rinse and spin cycle twice to get the water out! If you use the bedding cycle, it runs for 90 minutes and still doesnt spin all the water out! The dryer is not better either. On average, it takes one hour and ten minutes to dry 3 bath towels, a couple of hand towels and a wash cloth. One of the service people that came out, checked our dryer vent and said everything was hooked up correctly. Talk about a waste of energy!! I would do anything to get rid of these pieces of junk but we spent so much money on them Im stuck until I win the lotto or something! I cannot stress enough that you will be wasting your money if you buy any washer and/or dryer product from Maytag! Believe me, I regret it every day!

Bought a Maytag French door refrigerator MFT2976AEM01 in August 2013. Started having problems before the refrigerator was a year old. I called to get it serviced and it took 4 months to get a repairman to check it out. He fixed one part and then ordered another part that he needed which took 3 months to get. After he replaced that part the refrigerator continued to have problems. The serviceman has been out to repair my unit 6 times so far. He has no confidence in the Service Engineers from Maytag. They recommended yet another part be replaced, however now Maytag will not cover the parts cost. They offered to let me buy a new fridge at a discount. After spending about $2700 in August 2013, I dont have the $ to spend again for a refrigerator. My refrigerator is so loud it has been waking me up for about a month now and I am sick and tired of it. Shame on Maytag for having such terrible customer service! We purchased an entire suite of Maytag kitchen appliances in September 2014
We purchased an entire suite of Maytag kitchen appliances in September 2014 at a cost of $4300. Have had problems with every single item. The MMV5219DH microwave was the first issue. After a year it began to give us erroneous display messages when we tried to use it. We would input the number of minutes we wanted the food to cook, and wed get a message saying CHK TIME/OPEN DOOR. Repeated door closings, resets of the time, etc. did nothing. Sometimes if we hit cancel it would work - other times not. Wed push every button on the keyboard and eventually wed get it to work - perhaps 10 minutes later. When I called the appliance store (Vics Appliances in Saco Maine) I was told to unplug it for an hour. Okay, that corrected the issue - for a few days. When the problem continued, sometimes unplugging it had no effect - other times it did. Eventually we figured out if we didnt reset the clock time it would work most of the time (not 100%). The Maytag refrigerator began to malfunction at the same time (not keeping temp, and the ice in the icemaker melting and refreezing in a big lump that blocked the door water/ice dispenser) so we called Vics again and set up a service call. Serviceman reset the microwave to factory specs and we will see what happens. He also reset the fridge to different temps, and 2 days after his visit it has again melted the ice in the icemaker and formed a blob at the bottom. DO NOT BUY MAYTAG!!!

We purchased this oven (MER8880AS) as part of a package during remodeling in 2012. I was particularly interested in the bridge element, and in fact, its about the only part of the range Im satisfied with. Our first problem arose when we began using the range in 2013, and I got cut on a sharp edge while opening the storage drawer under the range. We contacted customer service, got a prompt and concerned response, and shortly after, a visit from a technician. Heres where it started to go south: the technician insisted that design as fine and that we were reaching too far into the drawer to open it. He left, saying basically not a Maytag problem and the customer service agent, who had promised to call after the visit, never responded to our calls. Fortunately, we have a good hardware store nearby and my husband and their staff came up with a solution.Burners and oven work okay, though with slower response time than other electric ranges Ive used. Convection feature seems ineffective on this range - I hardly use it anymore, though do use it all the time on my other range. The absolutely worst feature of this range is the Aqua Lift Cleaning System. This is a hoax by Maytag, marketed under the guise of an environmentally friendly system. It does not work, and pre-cleaning doesnt improve the outcome as only portions of oven that are clean are the ones pre-cleaned! If you like to cook and bake, do not buy this range!! Based on this experience, I will never buy another Maytag product, and though Im of the school that expects major appliances to last a long time, I can hardly wait to replace this range!

I purchased a Maytag commercial residential washer in late 2018, supposed to have a warranty for at least 5 years. We are in California and I was told that there was only one facility that could come two weeks later. I removed the front panel to have it ready for service tech, who on the first visit kept saying he did not know what the problem was, and left telling me he would order parts. After Christmas, I could not get in touch with service so again called Maytag. Service was supposed to come out on the 30th.After waiting almost 3 hours, he called to tell me he did not have the parts. Also, this repair tech treated me very bad since I removed the front panel which I thought I was being nice. He called me back on the 30th, said someone gave him a part, and came. All he did was remove control panel, lost the start button and told me it worked without checking it at all. He was rushing to another appointment so I tried to start it and it still had the original issue, which was slow agitator and a rubbing/grinding sound. Now, after he did something with control panel it had a clicking sound. I immediately called corporate and was told when he came back, which has now been over a month with no washer, that he would be with a senior technician.January 5th I waited all afternoon and he called and said he was not coming and that my whole washer would have to be rebuilt. He never replaced the parts on previous invoices I received, and I filed a complaint with the BBB. Now they are completely lying. Technician trying to say I had the control panel apart which is not true, and does not match up with the invoices I received. They are telling me my warranty is voided! Its been a month and a half. I was treated rudely from the beginning and now I am obviously being retaliated against. I have 3 kids, two with severe medical problems and have put so many hours into calling with all these issues.I had another service place come out and he removed the agitator and the transmission shaft/drive motor is rusted out, as well as the parts he said he replaced are worn and definitely not new. For this company to come back after all this time and say I did this, when I have the original invoice that clearly states otherwise is absolutely the worst service ever.I bought this machine thinking it would last, and now have to deal with all this. I have nerve damage and it is very difficult to take all the laundry for a family of 5 to do at laundromat. They refused to send someone else out, where they could easily have seen this repair tech never did what he said, and was unable to diagnose and fix the issue. Its appalling to me that this is how they treat customers. Laura ** at corporate is the one saying warranty is voided. The machine looks brand new as it has always been taken care of. They should be ashamed of themselves. Apparently, this is the standard a lot of times with people trying to get things serviced under a Manufacturer warranty!

This Maytag dishwasher is beautiful inside and outside. I love that the controls are hidden. It cleans dishes very well. It has a large capacity for dishes, a rack for glasses/mugs, a small rack for cooking utensils, and a container for silverware. It is so quiet you hardly know it is working. I would highly recommend it.

I purchased a Maytag Gemini April 22 2017 and I am very unhappy with it. The ovens are not working properly. I have thrown away so much food because the ovens won’t hold temperature. The display says it’s the temp. I set it but the temp keeps dropping and rising causing the bottom and top to burn and inside not to cook. Both ovens are doing it. Had a repairman come day before Christmas. He said there is nothing wrong. He said set temp, when preheat beep goes off wait 15 minutes for it to cycle then insert food. I tried this Christmas Day. Oven is still not working and again I threw away more food. I am so disappointed in Maytag. Serviceman is set up again to come out next week. I think I got a lemon. Please. I think they should replace the whole range. It’s not fair. I paid so much for this range and can’t use it.

Purchased Maytag Jetclean Dishwasher Model # MDB7749SBM3 on March 19, 2014 and on June 10, 2017 the washer would not go through the cycles properly. So I got on the internet to check out the problem. Maytag has very flimsy wiring circuit on the back of the control panel that rusts out due to being close to high-temperature water. Obviously a design flaw. The only way to fix it is to replace the control panel for $150 dollars with another flawed part. Do not buy Maytag dishwasher.

My Maytag (MDBH955AWB) dishwasher (not even 6 years old) is losing its prongs that help the dishes to stand up. They are corroded at the bottom and snap right off, leaving the dishes without support and banging into each other. We are only a family of 3 so it gets moderate to minimal use. The bottom basket costs $200 to replace, a third of the cost of a brand new dishwasher. Everything else about it is fine but my dishes will be chipping away. I cant believe Maytag made the basket so poorly that it doesnt last the lifetime of the dishwasher.

I have the Maytag Direct Drive Motor washing & dryer set the is supposed to be “commercial technology.” The washer is supposed to keep wet clothes fresh if they don’t make it to the dryer right away. After 2 years, I disagree in that it offers no better outcome than the much older machine I replaced. Furthermore the dryer cuts off leaving my clothes damp every single time, which I cannot stand. It leaves my clothes to wrinkle terribly and damp to stink if I do not collect them fast. I honestly wish I still had my old set. All the new features simply fail to measure up not to mention over complicate and add expense to repairs.

I purchased the Maytag Bravos MCT HE washer in 2011. Its about 3 1/2 years old and there was a very loud noise when the washer went into the spin cycle. Called the repair man and they told me the bearing and spin basket needed replaced. I had always had Kenmores with very little issues and they lasted for 12 years plus each. I get the HE model from Maytag and cant even go 3 1/2 years without some major issue. I called Maytag (Whirlpool) to complain and they said there wasnt anything they could do. I reminded them that I had checked for recalls on this model and looked into some of the complaints about this washer and that there were many of the same issues that I had plus many others. I felt like there should have been a recall on the bearing since they are going out too soon for this kind of a washer. I guess the Maytag repair man is now busier than ever since I dont see them on any advertisements anymore. Well, I will never buy a Maytag or Whirlpool appliance again after this.

I purchased MVWB955FW (washer) and MEDB955FW (dryer) from AJ Madison and the units were delivered in December 2017. After using the washing machine 5 times the glass lid spontaneously shattered putting glass into the machine and all of the clothes. I called Maytag for a replacement/service and they had to reschedule as the lid wasnt in yet. A week later, I followed up with Customer Service only to find out that the replacement lid was also shattered. They didnt make a replacement lid without glass (not sure why you need to watch the clothes being washed). I was told that there were no replacement lids available anywhere. I asked about getting a replacement washer and was told couldnt do that.I asked them to pick up the units and refund my money, which they promised. It is now 2 months since the original call for service and I continue to have to follow-up with them (never get a call back) and STILL have the broken units in my house. I have since purchased a replacement set (LG) and waiting for my refund. I will NEVER do business with Maytag/Whirlpool again.

Bought a Maytag Washer, in 2010 the Bravo. Good looking washer and dryer. I bought a 4 yr warranty for both. My washer has needed service every yr of the warranty, leaks and has stopped running. Now it is out of warranty and it is leaking again. Was just fixed a little over a year ago. I am now seeing a lot of rust around the top of the washer. It has just about covered the one port where you put the bleach in. The seam around the top in the crease is full of rust. My dryer is fine, bought them both at the same time. I have never seen this on a washer before. My mom has had her Maytag for yrs no problem. I bought these thinking they would last, boy was I wrong.

I purchased my Maytag Bravos Washer/Dryer several years ago, and I have hated them ever since. The clothes smell and are wrinkled. The dryer never gets the clothes dry. It will run and run and run, and the clothes will still be wet. I previously owned a Maytag Washer/Dryer for nearly 20 years and never had a problem. This set is a piece of junk. When I go to Lowes or any store for that matter and see someone considering this product, I warn them as quickly as possible to stay away from this product. I will continue to do so. Shame on you, Maytag, for making such a horrible product and for being too weak to stand behind your product. I will never buy Maytag again and will do my best to make sure none else does either.

We had 10 year old Kenmore units in the past that were much better and worked faster at both cleaning and drying. We prefer a washer with a agitator and top load. The dryer is preferred to be gas. Both the Maytag washer and dryer we have need constant repairs. Washer for control panel repairs, and dryer for false heat sensing problems. Now they say not to use dryer anti-wrinkle sheets. The washer needs less sheets put in at a time to rinse better. It is a agitator less model.

I purchased this machine (Maytag washing machine model MVWB700VQ0) from Home Depot in December of 2008. When purchasing it I decided to spend a bit more money on the machine, thinking I would get a quality product. For the last two years and 5 months it has only been me and my wife in the house as the kids are in college. Hence, the washer has not been used as much as some would use it. Within the last two and one half weeks the machine started making a horrible growling noise (probably the tub bearing going bad) and then started to leak yesterday. I noticed this morning that there was a large puddle of bleach water coming from under the machine. I called Maytag, which is just a fancy name for Whirlpool, and they basically told me too bad. It is inconceivable that a machine that used to last 20-plus years barely lasted three with only two adults using it. When I owned my previous home in another town the house came with Whirlpool appliances which literally fell apart within 5 years. I wanted to stay away from Whirlpool; however, I did not know that Maytag was owned by Whirlpool. I have received no assistance from Maytag. I am absolutely disgusted with the fact that an American iconic company such as Maytag is producing such garbage. I am going to be forced to figure out and fix what is wrong with the machine myself. However, I do believe this subject should be looked into further and possibly a class action law suit against Maytag for bad customer service since there seems to be quite a few people with issues surrounding this machine.

I purchased a Maytag Bravo washing machine item # 26 23872 for $617.69 on 1
I purchased a Maytag Bravo washing machine item # 26 23872 for $617.69 on 11-23-11 and it was delivered and set up on 12-02-11. My problem is if you have dirty sweaty clothes, you cannot get them clean with such little water. I used the HE detergent as directed. I talked to a woman at the local Sears Appliance store this morning, 7-11-12, about it. She said I need to use Affresh. So I did clean my washer but with a similar brand and my clothes are still stinky. I have even washed an empty load or two with bleach and hot water. I make sure I wash with hot water and completely dry my clothes. When you take a bath and dry yourself off with a towel, it smells like a musty basement. I am allergic to mold. I cant even take a wash cloth, get it wet and wash my face without wanting to throw up from the smell. I have had guest comment on the towels as well. Its embarrassing. The problem is you cannot clean something with an inch of water in the machine. I am 58 years old and now have to do the wash. I went to the store and asked if we could return it for an exchange or anything like a discount on a new one and she would not budge. She said it had to be within 90 days but 90 days was in the middle of winter and I was not having dirty sweaty clothes from doing outdoor yard work. Now that summer is here, 7 months later, my clothes have been smelly for a few months. I cant take it anymore. I showed the woman that I had been to Lowes and had an estimate of 10% off with free delivery, set up and haul away. She said she could do 15% but when you add on the delivery fee, it was higher than Lowes. I purchased my whole upgraded kitchen stainless steel appliances for about $7,000 and this set of washer/dryer but Sears could not help me out? What a disappointment that a loyal customer such as me could not at least get free delivery on a new washer. I went right back to Lowes and ordered the same machine I wanted Sears to sell me matching Lowes price. So now, I am stuck with a 7- to 8-month-old machine still in the one year warranty that is like new but is a worthless piece of junk as my clothes all stink. Run, dont walk if someone tries to sell you a low water HE machine. I tried sending this letter to searsinfo.com corporate office and it is rejected even though the website gives you that address.

Well I have the washer and dryer. I love the dryer, it is excellent! Now on to the washer. It tries to save water so I guess people in California would love it. I have a laundry room in the basement and one up on the top floor with the Bravos in it. I only do the clothes that are not dirty but a little smelly in the Bravos. Any clothes that are dirty I do in my 20 year old machine in the basement. Do not purchase this machine if you are under 56 because you will need a step stool. Everything I wash I do on the longest cycle because the other cycles do not get all the clothes wet. Think about what I just said. The machine does not get all the clothes wet. Do not purchase this machine. I really cannot call it a washing machine, but they look real pretty in the laundry room.

French Door Maytag MFI2569VEW10 faulty in many ways. We bought our refrigerator 7 years ago. After 2 years the freezer door handle fell off; after 4 years the right front door gasket began to tear (normal usage); after 7 years, it no longer dispenses ice or water. We now have mildew/mold growing around the edges of the door because there is no longer a good seal. Constant cleaning. Additionally, we are spending more $ to keep the refrigerator at the proper temperature because the seal is broken. To repair these items is almost $700 including shipping and tax. This does not include the cost of labor. So after 7 short years, we have a hunk of junk that does not work properly. I am shocked that Maytag sells such an inferior product and we are left holding the bag. Do not buy Maytag. Additionally, our Maytag microwave broke after 5 years. DO NOT BUY!!! Buyer beware!

We bought the Maytag Aqualift cooktop about a year ago & are continuous
We bought the Maytag Aqualift cooktop about a year ago & are continuously dissatisfied with it, for several reasons: 1) the cooktop is a huge nuisance to cook on. The burners are either raging hot (causing boil-overs), or too cool to simmer. The boil-overs then require much cleaning with an expensive cleaning agent. 2) the oven, whether you use regular or convection, underheats - so you can’t tell how long the cooking or baking process will take, & you have to monitor the cooking process. 3) the so-called self-clean is a joke; the oven will not be clean unless you crawl inside & clean it manually. Overall, I’d prefer to toss this range in the trash. I’m a good cook, but I get angry every time I use this expensive, poorly- designed product.

I purchased a new Maytag dishwasher model MDB7609AWB1 approximately 2yrs ago from Sears. We purchased quite a few new appliances from them and they are always helpful. Within the first year, right after the warranty was up, it stopped working. No lights on the power panel. I called Sears, out of warranty, sorry. Said they would give me a deal on the repair. Sears came out, replaced the computer. $230.00. 6 months later, it stops working again. I go on line to look up these models and sure enough a lot of people are having the same issues. I did some of the checks that they said to do and found my plastic door latch was broken. A little plastic arm that actuates the switches broke. Should have been made of metal. I replace it myself, very easy, by the way. So I figure, in another 8 months it will prob break again. They run anywhere from $19.00-$30.00. 2 days ago power panel and light, not working again. I called Sears and asked them if they were having issues with the power panels that this was the second time in less than 2 years, and if there were any recalls, they said no. I guess they dont follow their reviews, but according to google reviews, its a major problem with most of them. Maytag, Whirlpool, and Amanda. Ordered a new panel today, again they are $141 from Sears but if you shop, you can get a new one for less than $85.00. If you have any kind of mechanical skills, you can replace it in less than 20 mins. It just seems to me that this big companies have let their quality control go and are more concerned about the profit. There should be a recall on these. Do Not buy a Maytag/Whirlpool dishwasher, they are total junk. Sorry Maytag, you lost another customer.

We purchased a Maytag MFI2670XEW6 french door/Bottom freezer refrigerator in July of 2012 through Home Depot and for the past 6 months have had to scrape ice off the bottom of freezer every 5 days or so to prevent water flowing on floor. I see so many exact complaints from people that I am just fuming! Cannot believe this company is not backing their products up with that issue. A recall should most definitely been done. I grew up believing Maytag was top of the line but I am wrong. I bought this to replace a 16 year old GE refrigerator (side by side) which I never had any problem with and now I regret not replacing it with another GE. I havent contacted the company yet as I thought I would check complaint reviews before I did that but it seems that the company is just treating their customers like dirt. To spend $2200 for a refrigerator and have problems within the first 3 years is unacceptable!!! They had better start going good on this problem or face the fact that they will no longer be in business a short time down the road. The best form of advertising is word of mouth and online reviews and it looks like they are going to lose a lot of customers with the direction they are taking.

I wished I researched more before I purchased, but like most people, I believed in the reputation of Maytag. Like many others - my control panel started to go out 19 months after install: Had my first event with the washer; it would not allow me to select normal wash. A high-end machine shouldnt have electrical connection problems within 19 months, just 7 months after the warranty expires. When the repairman pulled apart our machine, he found a similarly burned looking touchpad ribbon cable, that was burned in exactly the same position as the photos shown on Maytags website under the review referred to. Maytag/Whirlpool has set up a special phone number to deal with this problem: I dialed 1-866-931-7384... Been on hold for over an hour Of course - NO answer! Ill try later but I am very angry that this has been a known issue BEFORE I purchased mine at Home Depot. What a piece of junk. This is the last Maytag Ill ever buy again.
