In order for the machine not to break you have to disassemble the drum agitator during normal use... Very poor design. Mine lasted just over two years. My initial cost was $570... Dont waste your money.

We bought a Maytag refrigerator serial # K11101146 and model # MBL2258XES1 on 5/7/2011. We started seeing puddles on the floor about a month ago coming from the bottom freezer. The warranty on the refrigerator was only good for a year. We investigated it further online and saw that a lot of other people were having the same problem. We found a video on Youtube on the solution, which was to tear the bottom frig apart (which is a pain and takes about 3 hours to complete) and to thaw out all the ice accumulated on the coils and run hot water down the drain until that thaws out. It makes a real mess. Now we see that this will probably have to be done again and again from others online who are having the same problem. We never had this problem with any of our refrigerators or any problem with them for that matter. Our last one was a 15-year old Amana and we wanted a more energy efficient refrigerator. We bought this one at Home Depot thinking that this one would last us for the rest of our lives. We are in our mid 60s now. This should not be happening at all especially as much as we paid for the refrigerator. I contacted Maytag and they more or less said, “Sorry about your luck.” I hope something can be done about this, especially for the amount of complaints filed. Unfortunately I did not take pictures but if it happens again, which I understand from other complaints that it will. Thank you.

We have had our washing machine for about 6 months, we got the F3 E6 error code. After doing some research, we found out that the control module was what we needed to replace. My husband and I called both Maytag and Lowe’s, (the store we purchased the washer from). We have been given the runaround. After talking with several managers in the Lowe’s warranty department, we were told that we had to contact Maytag directly about that particular problem. Okay, no big deal. We called and every single time we were put on hold for at least 30 minutes before we were hung up on. Not once did we even get to speak to a person. If we don’t get a response and our problem doesn’t get fixed, I will be going to the Better Business Bureau.

We updated our 25 years old dishwasher, which ironically still worked, to a Maytag we bought at a BrandsMart in GA in November 2010. Sixteen months later, the unit just died. The panel would light up, but would not run. We contacted Maytag and were assigned a repairman (The Appliance Guy) who could not come to fix the dishwasher until 5 days later. Once he finally showed up, I was informed by him that the control panel for the dishwasher had two shorts in it and it would be cheaper for me to just buy a new dishwasher because the repair to this one would be $344.44. When I contacted the customer service for Maytag, they offered to let me pay for the repairs and then they would give me a six month service warranty for free. Does that make sense to anyone? I could buy a totally different brand, brand-spanking-new and have a twelve month warranty with a better product. I asked to speak with Cheris boss and got to speak with Aaron, who offered me the same spiel. Heavily scripted, I apologize that you are dissatisfied, but all we can do is give you the service warranty for six months after you pay for the repair. I asked him if he was reading a script and he replied no. Now I know that he had probably repeated these same words twenty times a day. Heres a thought, Maytag claims to be a green company, using less electricity and water, and saving the customers money and yet they are filling up all the landfills with these appliances that are not even five years old. How is that being a green company?You know how when you buy a nice new button-up shirt? The makers of that good quality shirt go ahead and sew an extra button on the inside bottom part of the shirt because they know that theres a chance youll lose a button. Well, Im thinking that Maytag should just start shipping a couple extra control panels in every box of Maytag dishwashers. Crazy idea, right? Okay, so an easier and cheaper way for Maytag to correct the problem is to stop making dishwashers. Go back to the drawing board, make the engineer who designed the control panel wash everyones dishes (as punishment and he can get help from the customer service people because theyre really doing nothing), start building the old design dishwasher that has the old switch and dial, and start respecting their customers. There, problems solved!

After 9 months, the $850 Maytag Bravos started making extremely loud grinding noises during agitation cycle. We had 5 repair tech visits from A&E Repair, Maytags national repair vendor (and several cancellations + unscheduled visits by same). Each tech said a different part needed to be replaced requiring weeks of waiting for parts deliveries and getting huge boxes delivered to our office and dragging them home since my husband and I work for a living and are not home to accept large parcel deliveries. We had to unpack the washer basket in order to get it into our car and saw it was completely damaged. After 4 months of tech repair visits, using my home as a repair shop, forcing me to take days off from work and still no resolution to the problem, I was finally able to get Maytag to replace the machine. Our previous washer was original to our 25 year old house before it died. Unbelievably, the new Maytag has the very same problems and we are back on the same merry-go-round. This has become a part time job and super headache. I have never had such a horrible experience with a purchase or company. This is not a case of heavy usage either. We are ready to dump this machine! Do not buy a Maytag or affiliate product - Maytag is the worst!

Built a new house, bought new appliances for the kitchen. Like others, did all the research, wanted to buy American made. Wow, did we ever make a mistake. Refrigerator is just over 2 years old. It is worthless. Repairman, Maytag Certified, says that it appears to be internal problems and probably come from the factory that way. He suggested I contact Maytag directly and they should be able to make things right for me and my family.So, I called, sat on hold for 10-15 minutes, and was finally connected to a customer service employee. I explained all that I knew about the problem, she pulled the repairmans notes and the notes of the technician that had spoken with the repairman. After reviewing the file, she informed me that my 2-year-old refrigerator was out of warranty and there was nothing that could be done.What ever happened to American Made companies standing behind their product? I didnt spend $2000 on a refrigerator that would last me 2 years. I expected 7-10 years, AT LEAST! I expected a company with the name MAYTAG to show some shame for creating a piece of junk and charging a customer this much money for something they know is obviously flawed from the factory. Shame? No. Guilt? None whatsoever.Caution to those considering a Maytag product. Run away! Go find a more reputable company. Go find a company who views customer service and quality products as a priority. I didnt purchase the cheapest refrigerator on purpose. I paid extra for American made and what I thought was a quality product sold by a quality company. Reality has now set in.

My Maytag microwave MMV4205BAB gave out this a.m...again. I bought it in 2008. The repairman has become a close personal friend because he visits so often. In Jan. 2012, I bought an extended warranty, which expired in Jan 2013. This is the best example of planned obsolescence Ive ever seen. We wish we had kept our GE with the broken handle, which we had for 20 years with no other problems than that. If you are wise, do not buy Maytag.

My Maytag washing machine is nothing like the ones that my mom used to have. This thing is loud as it click, click clicks through cycles. Being a mechanical engineer, I assume that parts are taking a beating inside that machine to make all that noise. Then comes the wash time on this thing. With water level on auto sensing and one rinse, this machine takes over an hour to do a batch of wash. It literally stops dead for at least a full minute between each cycle then click, click, clicks its way to the next. It does not rinse very well as more often then not there is soap scum on the clothes when the washer finally stops. SPEND A FEW DOLLARS MORE AND BUY A DIFFERENT BRAND! Maytag is garbage!

We purchased a $700 Maytag range 2 years ago and recently the oven did not work. After a Maytag authorized tech came out and checked the unit, he proclaimed the circuit board was bad and needed to be replaced. Since these ovens only have a 1-year warranty - regardless of the price you pay - he said it would be over $450 to repair it. When I asked why so expensive, he stated that they dont price the parts - Maytag does. I decided I could buy a new range for that price and get one with a warranty so I passed. I then decided to contact Maytag because I was very disappointed that such a reputable brand would prove so faulty. After writing a very polite letter and emailing customer service, they replied with a pack of lies. They stated that they have no control in what the service company charges for parts and failed to offer any assistance. They did not offer any solution except to say, Sorry. Well, you can bet that I have already spread the word to all my friends and associates about this experience and my Facebook page lit up with comments after I posted it. I will never buy another Maytag product and will make it my mission to spread the word. I had a similar issue with my brand new HP laptop but after contacting them, they immediately reached out to me and offered to pay for part of the repair!! Thats how you take care of your customers.

Received this Maytag dishwasher model MDW7749SBW1 as a gift from my son in June 2013 when my old dishwasher finally quit. January 2014, the soap/rinse aid dispenser did not work. Called Maytag and they sent repairman who replaced the part. Still did not work so repairman said another part was not communicating with the dispenser so he replaced that part. Worked fine. No charge since it was under warranty. Now its July 2014 and the touch panel doesnt work. Called for repair and was told since it is out of warranty, it will cost about $350 to repair. I called Maytag about this and said that I had a defective appliance. I was told that since I didnt buy the extended warranty, there was nothing they could do. I mentioned my last Maytag lasted 25 years and had only two minor repairs so I didnt see any reason to buy an extended warranty. I thought I was buying a good product. I was told shed register my complaint. Waiting for my repairman to come out tomorrow and see what he can do. I also have a Maytag stove. Wonder how long that will last?

Purchased Maytag washer/dryer in November 2016. Have been dissatisfied ever since. Dryer doesnt dry clothes completely after 90 minutes on high setting. Washer leaves white residue on clothes. Noticeable on dark items. Hardly any water on deep water wash cycle. Bedding just makes a big rolled ball. White powdery residue doesnt come off easily. Rewash, dryer, brushing. Ruining my clothes. Service has been out and they dont appear to know how to correct problem. Maytag doesnt know what problem is and their engineering staff hasnt provided any information on how to fix. Maytag seems very disinterested in helping. They just thank you for being a loyal customer. Not anymore. The attached pictures were taken March 11, 2018.

I purchased a Maytag Neptune Washer and Dryer at Home Depot for over $900. Within months, the board went out. The repairman said that they didnt even know how to fix it yet - no training. The board was out again. This time, it was not under warranty. The repair costs $779 including part and labor. There were numerous other little problems along the way that we did repair, but now, forget it.

Washer leaves spots on clothes and massive knots in clothes. The serviceman has been here twice since we bought it and was told to use extra wash option and heavy load wash with fabric softener option as well, and to only use about one tablespoon of detergent. So much for the green option! Results, still washing clothes 2 or 3 times per load then into the dryer. Tried an experiment - washed a pair of my daughters white capris and then washed them at a friends house while water was saved in a separate tub. Holy crap, the dirt in the water. Do not buy this machine. Not even if it is offered to you for free.

Maytag Bravos washer and dryer both need replaced in 3.5 years! Control board had to be replaced on washer in under 2 years and now the replacement went bad in about 15 months. Maytag can’t help! Hundreds of dollars wasted. Dryer is not much better as the control board is now malfunctioning! DO NOT PURCHASE MAYTAG!

In March 2014 I purchased all my kitchen appliances from Home Depot. Everything was Whirlpool except the dishwasher, a Maytag. The floor in my kitchen is wood, and I noticed that the finish was coming up in the area around the dishwasher. I called an accredited service company and the technician said the appliance was not level and proceeded to do that. Next, tech #2 - dishwasher not level, fixed it - different company. Tech #3 - dishwasher not level, fixed it, said perhaps I did not load the appliance properly and water splashed out! Dishwasher continued to leak, floor continued to warp. Came back as #4 and decided it was the control in door. Ordered new one, installed it - dishwasher leaked. Called Maytag at that point. They refuse to accept that it is defective merchandise, will not replace it on my word. They need a tech to certify that it is unfixable. Tune in tomorrow. This will be #5. My husband and I purchased a brand new Maytag dryer in January 2012. Our first issue came when the sensors went out in March; then the belt slipped off the drum in June; then the thermistor was defective in July; and now, the same thermistor code has popped up twice since replacing it. I purchased a new Maytag washer (Model# MVWC565FWO) from LOWES 18 months ago and the paint is bubbling on the inside of the door. Neither Lowes nor Maytag would do a thing. We have spend many $1000s at Lowes and considering the replacement cost is only $126 for a new door I can see Lowes following Sears for their lack of customer service and diplomacy in matters like these.

Overall- I think washers aren’t made to last like they once were. Growing up- we had the same washing machine while living at home. It seems now- they only last 10 years if you are lucky. They should make more longer lasting machines.

After 2 LG refs and 2 Maytag ref. fridge, I would not recommend either one. My Maytag need a new compressor. My Maytag ref only lasted for 6 years! The main circuit board failed. I decided to get a new fridge from Sears rather than going back to Home Depot. I decided to get a new fridge in Sears rather than going back to Home Depot. The extended maintenance is more expensive at at Sears. In summary, I have only been using the Sears for 3 days now. It is too early to write a review on the Sears fridge.

I purchased Maytag fridge a year ago and it has been a nightmare. The freezer doesnt freeze items. the drawers were all damaged upon receiving. I have contacted Maytag for more than 10 times and 5 techs came that I paid 125 each visit to fix the fridge because I didnt purchase the warranty thinking it was a good product . It is not! They dont stand behind their word. They lie and they send unqualified techs the misdiagnose issue to collect service calls. Please avoid this brand by all cost. My experience is terrible and I never want to wish it on anyone.

It is nice to know that there are other people out there that have the same problem with the Maytag washers cabinet inside and outside rusting. Our rusting is around the bleach area rim and on the outer seam of the washer. Our washer is now 4 years old. We started having the rusting problems in 2011. We called Maytag and of course. They are sorry for our problem but cant do anything about it. They made it sound like we were the only ones having this problem. We need to stand strong and continue to complain about this problem until Maytag takes responsibility for their poor quality washers. Anyone out there looking to purchase a washer. Do your homework. I love it. It has a big tub. It has no agitator. It uses a lot less water. Many cycles.perfect machine. I would recommend this to everyone. Also top loading. Would never get another front loader. They arent worth it.

Maytag water efficient, no central spindle top load. Clothes come out with scum on them. Really a problem on the solid darks. I have to scrub with terry cloth to remove. Maytag insists this is normal. Refused to honor warranty. Usually check Consumer Reports for quality and best buy. Energy/water efficiency is important. I like to have some control over the machine so that I can use it the best way for me. Such as soak. This machine cannot be manually controlled at all. Also it doesnt have a lint catcher, doesnt filter the wash or rinse water at all. All the lint and pet hair remains on the clothes or even gets worse.The clothes are not clean. I have no way to control the machine for my use. It may be water efficient but seems to use too little water to clean the clothes. Maytag wants to blame the EPA - This is irresponsible on their part. Its an awful washing machine and they made it. Maytag continued to insist that scum on the clothes was working normally. This scum was added by the machine. I used very little detergent; the clothes were relatively clean - just lightly wore a few days. They come out of the machine with streaks of white scum that I have to scrub off. The clean the machine cycle uses a huge amount of water. This is really DUMB: washing the machine instead of cleaning the clothes! Terrible! And Terrible customer service at Maytag. DO NOT BUY MAYTAG.

I had no issues with my washer. The best thing I ever did was stop using Sabrina softener in it and made the switch to vinegar. The worst thing I ever did was think that paying $900+ for a nice washer would get me more than a year! What a joke! I started noticing small leaks when my hardwood floors started lifting and once my husband looked into this, we realized there is no seal around the top of the drum. So there is no barrier between the drum and your floors basically. Then one day we had a flood. As we watched the cycle run, we noticed that when the water was filling into the bleach and fabric softener compartments it was coming in at such a high rate, it was spilling over the sides down to the floor. So we went to the internet and found a few complaints about this, but no answers. Thankfully we found one guy who had the exact same problem and even had pictures that matched ours. Luckily a real appliance tech answered him and he couldnt even figure it out but took a guess at what I might be: the water inlet valve. But that was just a guess. So we called around to find the part and talked with a few sales persons. One was so nice to even ask a technician standing in line. And he said that there was no way this could be it. But then we decided to take a gamble. We also noticed that both compartments were filling up at the same time, but the bleach should fill during the wash cycle and the fabric softener during the rinse cycle. So it was either the $104 water inlet valve. Or the $200+ circuit board. These are my options after already spending $900+.. So we went with the valve and thank goodness it worked!!!! It is so disappointing that after a short time, this washer broke and cause more damage to my floors. It is an awful design. I bought myself the nicest front loaders for my first house. When that broke 7 years later, I bought this washer because I liked the no agitator design without the smell of a front loader. Now when this one breaks again, Im not buying another HE machine. The majority of people I talked with today said that these HE machines are breaking down faster and faster as the get better and better. I am so beyond disappointed, angry and in shock that this washer failed in less than a year and a half time. My hope is that this review will give the answers we couldnt find without paying an arm and a leg. Is this what passes for quality these days???

Just like all the other reviews, 14 months after purchase and 2 months out of warranty the control panel on our Maytag Dishwasher stopped functioning. The “10 year warranty” is a joke a covers 3 things. We had model MDB4949SHX, $550 new.

The fridge has a grinding noise that is getting worse, by the day. I cannot seem to define the exact location of problem, whether the freezer or the fridge. Maytag you stink, and your web site stinks, too.

I purchased a Maytag dishwasher 15 months ago and was told the control panel is bad. It would cost me $120 to have someone look at it. I might as well buy a new one by the time the parts are added. I called Maytag and they said that there was nothing they could do for me since I was three months past my warranty. Meanwhile, I see all of these complaints about the same problem and Im wondering why there has not been a recall on this. What does it take for that to happen? I will never purchase a Maytag again! Their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. All they do is apologize like its programmed in their heads. This feels like a fraud!

I have had a Maytag smoothtop stove for over 20 years. The only drawback has been when someone left an empty pan on a hot burner. Some of the pan melted to the top which could not be removed. I have to get special pans to conduct the heat, too. Overall, I love it. It has a self-cleaning oven, too, which is a bonus.

After using my GE Profile to death we replaced it with a Maytag; mostly for the cost. Although I hate to admit this, remember the old saying you get what you paid for - Well its true at least in the case of this Maytag oven. I am a constant cook and own a bakery, I often bake many of my products at home. Since getting this oven I have had nothing but failures. The cakes are over done, underdone, cookies burnt, not cooked enough; my time frame for recipes is so off! I wrote a cook book and have baked for years so I know for a fact its not some miraculous mishap that all of a sudden I cant bake. Ive had them come calibrate the oven but still no success.Im going to call them again but I felt compelled to let people know this is the worst oven in history and avoid purchasing it at all cost. I have a Maytag washing machine (MDBTT53AWW1). The total cost is $524 for machine plus installation. And the cost of yearly repair on this machine is $300.I purchased this machine a year and 10 months ago in January 2010. A few months ago, the control panel started to only light up partially but the washing machine continued to run. A few days ago, when i tried to turn on the machine, it would not work--the control panel was no longer lighting up. I called a repair man recommended by Lowes, and after explaining the problem over the phone, we scheduled a time for him to come (ten days later was his first available opening!).Ten days later with a broken washing machine and doing all the washing by hand, the repair man came late. When I made the appointment, I was told he would come anytime from 8 to 11 a.m., and of course, he did not show up until almost 1:00 pm. When he finally arrived, all he did was look at the model and determined instantly that the reason our control panel was no longer working was due to a faulty design. This dishwasher allows the steam to escape through a small vent placed to the left of the control panel. The steam inevitably causes a short circuit, meaning that this will be a reoccurring problem every year.He did not dismantle anything and was in my home for no more than 5 minutes. I was told the cost of a new control panel would be $141 plus his labor fee of $137. So all in all, if you purchase a Maytag appliance, the initial cost is irrelevant. If you purchase a Maytag appliance, you will spend almost $300 yearly to maintain it--basically the cost of a brand-new washing machine.Something needs to be done; this is unacceptable. The least Maytag could do is provide all of us, fools who believed in their product and thought that they were of quality, with a free10-year warranty for this faulty machine which is pre-determined to break down every year as a result of their poor design planning.Cost aside, what kind of world are we living in that major appliances are made to last just one year and then are to be thrown in the dump? There is no way I will pay $300 for the next ten years to maintain a product that is made to break. That is wasteful and disastrous for the environment. Shame on you, Maytag. You will be filling landfills around the country with your terrible products, and the world will be a worse place for it.

I purchased the Centennial Commercial Technology washer in June of 2013. In the last 2 1/2 years it has been repaired 3 times. The transmission had to be replaced twice. My household consist of two adults and definitely it is not overused or overloaded. The washer currently is not working. Consumer service cannot schedule an appointment for repair for 2 weeks. Previous repairs took approximately 2 weeks to schedule a service appointment and it took another week to two weeks to get the part in and washer repaired. I have decided to consider this an expensive learning experience and will not purchase Maytag products in the future!

Perfect for me. It would be better if I had a space to put it without adjacent walls. Mine sits with the refrigerator door against a wall and I have to pull it out to the door space to open it wide enough to pull out the drawers to take them out for cleaning. Otherwise, it has worked very well for me by myself, for me and my husband when he was alive and for my son and his family and myself, and he has 5 children.

Maytag Range Precision Touch Control 800 Electric Smoothtop - The racks in the oven fall down. I have replaced them with new ones but am having the same problem. I emailed my concerns to Maytag a few months ago but didnt get any response (so perhaps I didnt go to the right site). The oven was purchased in early 2008 and this is the only problem I have had with it. If I am extremely careful, I can bake cookies but if I try baking or roasting anything heavy, the racks fall. It is very frustrating but I was pleased, for lack of a better word, to see that someone else was having the same problem - at least I know it isnt just me. I will try contacting Maytag again.

Bought a Maytag bottom door refrigerator/freezer about 3 years ago and within 6 months had the bottom drawer ice freeze issue that is so common all over the internet. Today is the THIRD ** time Ive had to take this piece of crap product apart and clear the ice. For all of you who have contacted Maytag in the past... Ill bet you got the same response I did when the fridge was new. They claim there are NO KNOWN ISSUES. They actually told me they had NO RECORD of previous complaints with this issue. MAYTAG SUCKS! I wouldnt take a free appliance from them. Worst customer service possible and they take no responsibility for their ** design and problems. There should be a class action suit for this issue. IF ANYONE IS EVEN CONSIDERING A MAYTAG APPLIANCE... Do yourself a favor and think twice.

Dont buy their washers. Plain and simple. Will never ever buy Maytag again. This washing machine is garbage and I paid a lot of money for it. 3 months out and it had to have the entire circuit board replaced. I was assured that this was the issue. It has never cleaned our clothing, in fact, they come out twice as dirty and with soap. Weve used the Affresh, weve put as little as 1 tablespoon of detergent, weve triple washed several loads and still ended up having to wash them by hand in the tub. Changing the circuit board did nothing. Weve tried setting it to max fill (which it does) and everything still comes out the same. Its not the water, its not the water hook ups (previous washer worked great but was old, should have kept it). This is the worse product that Ive spent almost a thousand dollars on. Its a paperweight. On top of this, it twists your clothes into a mass. I expect companies to be honest about their products and provide what I paid for. How many times does this washer have to be fixed before you will call it a bad design? Im having to literally do all my laundry by hand for the last 8 months. I want my money back so I can buy a good quality product that works. I could have bought a $300.00 washer that would have done better then this. You want more proof, go read their Facebook replies to all their posts. Its all complaints about their washing machines. It would be nice for once to see a company fess up and say they made a design error. But that wont happen. Their money is more important.

I purchased my 10kg commercial Maytag dryer in March 2015 and started using it in May 2015. Within two months the heater had broken. I contacted the people I bought it off and it turned out I had to contact Whirlpool. It took them 8 weeks to get my dryer going again. The dryer broke down again in November. This time it was a sensor. Again I had to contact Whirlpool, it took them three weeks to get it going again. Being a care home the dryer is essential to our business. We were led to believe when we took out the extended warranty that the dryer would be fixed within a week. I will never purchase a Maytag again or anything to do with Whirlpool.

Bought our washer dryer set from Sears in the fall of 2010. I had reservations from the start as the machines were new and the salesman was really pushing this set (on sale), with all the customers, even offering extra discounts on these models only, if customers bought that day. Apparently, they had overstock and were trying to sell them all ASAP. That was a warning to me but my husband convinced me that I was being overly suspicious. We had previously owned Maytag machines for 20 years and loved them. So I agreed. Well, I have been cursing that decision ever since. You have to hand wash/prescrub any stain on clothing, even a little make-up like blush or a little mud. Then you have to put up with an inflexible system that wont allow you manual options regarding spins and temperature or times, etc. Its all programmed. Then you put up with clanging spin cycle as it bangs against the wall. Then you pull out very wrinkled and not always cleaned clothes only to begin the most frustrating dryer experience ever. It has a mind of its own. It can actually keep spinning as it keeps adding dry time and the clothes never dry! God help you if you have a regular load. All your clothes will get stuck on the little ledge. They stay there in a heap as the machine spins and spins.The solution? You have to add a bunch of dry towels to create a lot of mass so that it keeps your laundry from getting stuck on the side. Then you have to repeat this several times cause it doesnt dry well. I will never ever shop at Sears and I will never buy Whirlpool or Maytag again. I am now saving to buy another set.

Bought a refrigerator from Home Depot in November 2012 for a cost of $1,647.48. In August 2013 it stops making ice day 1, stops cooling & it is running nonstop, all lights on display go out day 2. Called Home Depot & was given another number to call, called that number was told someone would be out next day to look at it. Also told my warranty would expire in November & I needed to buy another warranty. Maytag customer service was very rude. If their product was any good why do I have to pay extra for another warranty. A $1,647.48 refrigerator that only lasts 9 months, REALLY!!! Do not purchase Maytag appliances if you dont want to lose your money. Shame on Home Depot for not standing behind their merchandise. If you have a problem while warranty is in effect, Home Depot should replace product.

I spent extra money on a commercial grade Maytag dryer $1300 before taxes because it had a 10 year warranty. The motor and drum quit - and Maytag refuses to honour the warranty. I am appalled by their dishonesty and lack of integrity. I do not recommend them to anyone.

I had a stove my mom bought for me 26 years ago. Still worked perfect. Used constantly. In 2018 my husband had to have this stove. Said no my stove my mom bought and still works perfect sentimental plus three children using it. Not one problem. So he buys this Maytag stove I didn’t like but don’t cook much warming things up or frozen pizza. Go to our sons for holidays. Always next day cook a turkey for sandwiches. Open the door which is too heavy. Wouldn’t close and called my husband. Got it semi closed. Said we’re not eating it. He proceeds to cook. Door opened. More turkey is in garbage. My husband started reading. I also did. Looks like these Maytag stoves are garbage. Make a lot of money for repairs. Now this goes to dump. No one stands behind their products. Is it worth paying to repair no.

My husband and I purchased this Maytag bravo washer in May 2014. It is not even three years old and the bearings went out. Call the repair man and it would cost over $300 to have it fixed. I paid a lot of money for this washer, expected it to last more than less than a little than three years and I think its terrible. Bravo Large Capacity Washer with Optimal Dispensers - 4.3 Cu. Ft. - The washers shortest cycles take at least an hour (not including having to do another spin/drain) and uses such little water that I have to use the extra rinse cycle on most loads. The washing machine is VERY hard on the clothes; towels (which I feel are pretty hardy) have been destroyed. Today the machine stopped draining/spinning completely and smelled like it was burning. I called the warranty number and was told it would be a week until someone could come out. When I tried to escalate a sooner repair date the manager Jessie refused to assist in any way insisting there was nothing he could do. I spent the morning calling my local repair shops and was able to find a Maytag warranty repair person to come out the same day, but had to call the warranty number again and have Maytag place the request. Sorry for the long post, but this washer is the WORST purchase I have made. The warranty experience was very unimpressive. I will not be purchasing anything from Maytag/Whirlpool/Jennair ever again.

My Bravos Washer and Gas dryer are only a few years old, and they have both been problematic to say the least! Neither Home Depot nor Maytag have been helpful. My washer has had the shocks replaced already, because it would constantly go off balance and shut down and they cant grease the bearings because they are sealed. So, now it sounds like an airport is in my laundry room! The gas dryer takes an entire day to half dry a load and its burnt on the inside!

3 year old Maytag Washer model MVWX600XW broke. Paid $345.55 for extended warranty. I had to wait 10 days for Appliances Unlimited to fix the washer in Sept. then the washer broke again in November needing 3 more parts including a motor. It took almost 2 weeks for Appliances Unlimited to come to the house, then I have to wait 5 weeks for a new motor to be in stock.

It is impossible to dry clothes in the dryer without the worst wrinkles you can imagine. I have 2 of them and they are both horrible machines!! The drum spins too fast which causes the clothes to get stuck against the tumbler fins. The centrifugal force holds them there and they just ride around without tumbling in the drum. When the cycle is finished the clothes have been dryer while jammed up against the fins and they are so wrinkled you have to wash them again. The ONLY way to get them through a drying cycle without a tremendous amount of wrinkles is to stop the machine every 5-8 minutes and fluff the clothes around inside the drum by hand. DO NOT BUY!!

Maytag Washer was bought on May 2010 for $746.29 and it broke down. It was used only twice a week. It now requires repairs worth $991.36. All Maytag reps say is I am sorry, there is nothing we can do. Isnt there a lemon law for major appliances?

Always have bought Maytag. 16 years on both washer and dryer. The newer models, which I dont have, locks the top of the washer after it starts. I would hate that. I dont care if they are stackable but I would want full size. I dont think I would pay extra for a front loader, but the only front loading washer I have ever owned is small and at our camp.

Maytag Bravos electric steam dryer purchased 2009 - I have had to replace the door hinges within one year of usage at my expense. The blower belt and pulley had come off twice, the last time about a half hour after the repairman (again at my expense) left. I put it back on myself and if it comes off again, I will use Locktite to glue it on the blower shaft. I figure I will be lucky if this crap lasts a couple more years anyway. No more Maytag for us! What does it take for the consumer to get some representation with regard to lemon laws here? I will take my wrath out on Home Depot here since I have no recourse. If enough people complain, maybe they will stop selling that junk. I also will disregard Consumer Reports in the future.

Replacing a working but noisy 14 year old Sears dishwasher for the newer Maytag was my bone head move for 2011. It died the first year control panel shot, no warranty. Paid for repair. This month dead again; same problem. Recall this stainless steel garbage. Maytag model MDBH949. Maytag, never again. Bought twice and last time.

Had to buy a motor for Washer but lasted 12 years before giving problems again; then couldnt find anyone that would service for cheaper than $100 for just coming to your house plus $75 an hour for labor. Thats HIGHER than my billable rate! Rip-off Service & parts charges. Found out it was easier & cheaper to troubleshoot ONLINE myself using FIXYA site and others. Expense for an appliance above what most run ~ 1500 for both units. Plus if it doesnt have or offer a 5-year warranty then something is wrong with the quality! Maytag Neptune Series MLE2000AYW 27 Inch Electric Laundry Center with 3.34 Cu. Ft. Washer Capacity, 4 Wash Cycles and 6.0 Cu. Ft. Dryer Capacity, 3 Dry Cycles: White. Worst part on this model was a WAX MOTOR that they used for the Washer to control the door being closed or open. Next worst DESIGN error was they didnt put a drain hole in the plastic rim seal for the Washer door, that area would build up mold & mildew if you didnt learn to keep Washer door open at all times AFTER a wash. We learned by removing the light bulb! Therefore it was easy for my crew to learn to leave the door open after washing. This model was Energy star certified and had a long life here 12 years. Unfortunately I think they build these things to only last 10 years; then you have to replace them. In years gone by... the 1970s Washing machines and dryers would last 20 years!!

My husband and I purchase both Maytag Washer and Dryer 7 month ago 2017, because we have purchase Maytag washer before and were very happy with it. But this new Washer does not clean clothes at all, it is worthless. We will not purchase another Maytag Washer again.

I have a new HE (high efficiency) washer. It takes getting used to as its a definite change from the old agitating system but I think I like it. It doesnt make much in the way of suds but everything still comes out really clean. The wash cycle is much longer than my old washer but it uses a lot less water.

Things that I have read that are true: Rips clothes/towels/sheets. No real problems with motherboard like some have stated. Bought Maytag Bravos Washer/Dryer in 2009. No real problems with the dryer, HOWEVER, may with the Washer. Had the pump go out in 2/2010 to the tune of $199.20 due to a small object in the pump. The repairman said it would just take a very inexpensive part from Maytag to prevent this. In 6/2012 washer not draining, clogged pump. All right, new to HE Washers, so told to use less detergent than detergent manufacturer recommends. $79.13 to fix clogged drain. Even though being careful with items in pockets, loose buttons, etc. AGAIN had pump go in 1/13, $214.22 (same problem cheaper in 2010, repair inflation). Wed noticed it was loud on the spin cycle (like a rocket going off) and were told at that visit the bearings would need to be replaced, and quoted approximately $280 to repair those. Havent fixed, waiting for something else to go wrong and then decide what to do with it. So in 4 years paying almost the purchase price of the unit (if I fixed bearings also). Crazy. If you bought a house and had to pay 4/5 of the house to repair it in that short of a time, no one would own a house!!!

Oven racks falling down and theres appears to be no solution because the interior liner of the oven has warped. The 3rd party repair guys tell me the interior liner needs to be replaced, its not worth the repair cost, Im better off shopping for a new set. Its so unfortunately that this happened (we moved into this house with existing appliances that we cannot use...) and it seems to be a common problem, yet Maytag claims they have NOT received any complaints about this.

Maytag MFD2561 - The metal piece between our French doors is also rusting. It is a design flaw. We also have a GE French door refrigerator and that piece on it is not metal!

I purchased a washer on 8/13/12. I had it installed on 8/20/12. It did not clean clothes properly. I went to Two Guys and they said they dont take returns and told me to call Maytag. I called Maytag and they sent a a service agent to check the machine on 9/10/12. They said the machine codes were imbalanced and over stud. They need to recalibrate the machine. I did laundry the same day and still find clothes do not come clean. I need to return the machine. I called Maytag and was told they dont take returns. This machine is not cleaning clothes as it should be and I want a refund!

Maytag Neptune was purchased over 15 years ago to replace GE, which we purchased when children were little. I wanted a step up in quality. I remember paying around $499 for this unit. This is an analog unit. The intellidry feature has been a real asset, protecting our clothes from over drying. We have had this machine for nearly 20 years. It has been real reliable, sometimes drying 20 loads a week. Large capacity, but has to fit down a narrow and twisting stairway. Must be energy efficient, have good reviews and decent price. We always look for sales or buying incentives. Brand is secondary to quality. Knowledge of an appliances historical reputation is important. I would look at reviews, especially concerning cost of repair. I would attempt to get a hands-on view, before purchase from a reputable supplier at the best price. My dryer has only required one major repair in the time Ive had it. A few years ago we replaced the motor and blower, and I have personally replaced the drum support rollers twice. I hesitate to replace this machine, because the analog controls have proved very reliable.

Code F51 showed up and my appliance repair man immediately said, I see this problem with the Maytag Bravos all the time. Its a control board and motor problem. He gave me a number to call to see if I could receive help through Maytag (Whirlpool), because its a major fix. He also thought that there might be a recall by now since there have been so many problems, but no. The Maytag customer rep was of no help. So disappointed in Maytag and the Bravos Washer. I will never buy another Maytag again!

13 months after purchasing my Maytag dishwasher, it started operating by itself. I woke up one morning around 2:00 to it working, and I know I didnt put it on! I only use the auto clean cycle (that decides how dirty the dishes are, and is the cycle you use to conserve water). I dont use heat dry at all. Anyway, now I go to use the dishwasher and even though I press the auto clean button, the normal/heat dry/delay start buttons flash on. I try canceling this cycle out; sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt. I dont see Maytag as reliable anymore.

Washer purchased in May 2013 last month it stopped completing the drain and spin cycle and cloth stayed wet. To have the machine repaired, we would have to replace the control panel. The cost of replacing the control panel plus the service call was 76% of the cost of buying a brand new machine. As such we are disposing of the machine and will be purchasing a competitive product.

I have done absolutely nothing to this dryer except keep the lint screen clean. Have had it for 15 years. Keeps on tickin. It is used daily. Sometimes 3-4 times a day. The outside looks rough. But who cares. I bought a new lg washer with great looks and had it just a year and 2 weeks. Had to spend another $200 on it. Still doesnt work right. Im Maytag all the way!!! It is a simple dryer. But it is a workhorse. It was a gift from my mother and have so much appreciated it. It has been an amazing piece of equipment. From now on I will only look for the maytag brand for whatever appliance I purchase.

Run away from this piece of junk machine AND company as fast as you can! I bought this set Oct 12 and by March 14 it was grinding/whining during the agitation cycle. I have been in contact through various forms with Maytag and they do not care! They first contacted me to review them and when I reviewed them very unfavorably they emailed me and this is what they said: Our staff has read your review and values your contribution even though it did not meet all our website guidelines. All I did was say exactly what happened.After that I went to their website to see what kind of reviews they were getting and lo and behold their rating is 4.4 out of 5. Of course it is when you simply cherry pick the best and plant a few lesser rated ones. I simply do not have the funds to replace what I thought was a quality product, nor am I sure I want to repair it as it doesnt clean clothes. I hate having been placed in this predicament by a greedy, slimy corporation whose only interest in me is profits.

I purchased the Maytag Bravos series washer and dryer recently. I love the dryer but the washer does not clean the clothes. I have to wash twice if I want it clean. It does not get the stains out and does not use enough water to rinse the clothes. It also does not use enough water to wash/clean the clothes. I ended up washing all the loads on bulky which fills the washer with water. It still doesnt agitate enough to get things clean. I am extremely disappointed in the Maytag product which I always thought was top of the line.

This Maytag washer and dryer are far more superior than the units I had before. It is also made in USA which makes me feel like it will not fail me as soon as the others. The agitation when washing anything is something else I love. I will buy more Maytag in the future.

The washer does not get the laundry clean. It never has. I use only HE soap. I have changed soaps several times and still no change. I have been very disappointed with it. Maytag has been advertised as a good washer but the Bravos is not.

I purchased my Maytag Refrigerator in Feb 2013. It is model MFF2558VEW7. It has the French doors w/ freezer at the bottom. This past week, I lost everything in the freezer. I call the Home Depot where I purchased it and they said that I have to call Maytag. I did and they sent a repairman out. It needed a compressor. After only 8 months, the compressor goes out? Why should this fridge be repaired and I not be given a new one? With all the problems with the Maytag, there needs to be one big class action filed. I asked for a loaner because it would take up to five work days for them to order the part. The answer was, We do not provide loaners.

DO NOT BUY MAYTAG REFRIGERATOR. I purchased a Maytag refrigerator 3 years ago, now it started to leak water on the floor. Repairman said this happens after about 3 years to all Maytag refrigerators because the water hose is too small and gets plugged which causes water to flow into bottom of freezer; 2 inches of ice on bottom of freezer. Now we have to remove everything from freezer and refrigerator, unplug for 2 days to melt ice so we lose all of our food in freezer and refrigerator.

We purchased a Maytag dryer in Dec 2012 and several days ago the heating unit failed (mid April 2014). I did a quick search on this site and a few others where I saw numerous such issues with Maytag dryers. I realized that I was 4 months beyond the warranty period but took a shot at calling their customer service line to voice my displeasure only to get the company line that they could do nothing. My wife and I have been married 27 years this year and this was the 4th dryer we have purchased (1st and last Maytag) which obviously did not last like the other brands or like we expected. I definitely do not recommend this brand!

I am about to replace the control panel on my Maytag dishwasher (MDB7749SAM1) for the second time since purchasing it in 2012. Additionally, I have replaced the door gasket twice, as it becomes loose and does not properly seal, causing water to leak from the door during the wash cycle. There are many documented complaints of corrosion on the control panel ribbon cable necessitating replacement of the entire unit. If there were a way to replace the ribbon cable instead of the entire panel, it might be a bit easier to swallow the repair expense. Either way, it is ridiculous to have to spend almost 1/3 the original cost of the dishwasher to make it usable again, and twice in only 5 years time! My previous dishwasher was 30 years old and still functioning (though noisily) when I replaced it with this expensive lemon. I have not contacted Maytag, as it is not in warranty, however, it seems that a major appliance should last longer than a couple of years without issues.

I purchased a Maytag dishwasher with a control panel in September of 2013. In August of 2014, the control panel died and did not allow me to run the washer. In March of 2015, the piece which was replaced died. When contacting Maytag, even when they did the repair the first time, said they were unable to cover the cost because it was now out of warranty. Ive seen several class action lawsuits around the product with Maytag. Do not buy a Maytag. It used to be a quality brand, but is now terrible.

WOW! I cant believe I bought a Maytag MDB7749AWM1 Dishwasher without reading any reviews. Paid $650 for it a couple of years ago and the control panel is bad. $390 to repair it, unbelievable! Sounds like Maytag has a major customer service problem because I will NEVER BUY A MAYTAG DISHWASHER again! Spent $5000 grand on new Maytag appliances thinking they were the best to replace the outdated ones. Not the same, not sure what youre doing Maytag but youre losing a lot of loyal customers. Purchased a refrigerator freezer in 2012. It freezes the refrigerator contents, ruins vegetables....freezer doesnt freeze the contents....stopped making ice. Clicks on and off every two seconds sometimes for twenty minutes......

At first you think wow Maytag. Have heard was the best washer. WRONG. Clothes come out dry in spots. Not washing like it should. Whoever came up with this water saver and no agitator was crazy. Clothes dont get washed properly. Give me an old school washer to where my clothes get clean. When you have to wash clothes twice makes your power bill soar through the roof. NOT GOOD MAYTAG. NOT GOOD AT ALL.

I wish I had read these reviews before purchasing my dishwasher. I have used it 40 times max. The control board went out. They want 307.00 to fix it. Really? Why would I fix this piece of crap when I can buy a cheap one for that price that would work better. Ridiculous! I paid good money for this dishwasher and the warranty that comes with this is a joke. Save your money and brand from a company that stands behind their product.

I purchased a Maytag dishwasher (Model MDB7809AWWI) in Sept. of 2009. In 2010 and 2011, it had dead control panels. The first time, it was under warranty. The second time, it was not, and I purchased a costly service plan to have it repaired. Now, 2012, its dead a third time. Maytag tried to tell me that I could purchase another plan for $289. I informed them that for that cost, I can replace it with a dishwasher that doesnt require costly service plans and yearly repairs. They informed me that their parts only have a 30-day warranty. If theyre not willing to stand behind their products enough to admit that one is faulty, then Im not willing to stand behind them as a company.

Purchased washing machine, with insurance that was offered to me 9/17/10. May 2013, control panel went. June 2013, dial switch went. July 2014 washer motor drive & belt drive had to be replaced. August 2015 is broke again. Will never buy Maytag again.

I bought a Maytag washer January 2016. We recently had a issue with it so I logged onto the Maytag website and found a service provider to come see what was wrong. I had to pay a $100 fee for them to come out and look at it. I was told that the transition went bad. The parts were under warranty however I would have to pay for labor, which would be $325. Called Maytag and was told because I did not purchase an extended warranty there was nothing they could do about the labor. I can buy a new washer for $500 why would I spend $325 to fix? Already lost a $100 for them to come out to tell me what was wrong. Completely not right. A washer should last more then 4 years! Do not buy any Maytag produces. Will not last!

Purchase washer and dryer January 26th, had delivered said February 2nd. Had a horrible delivery service, delivery men were very rude and scratched the dryer. Washer never worked correctly, called and had exchange set up for February 9. Washer was delivered on February 9 and again we had a horrible experience with the delivery drivers. They scratched the washer. The owner of the delivery company came to our home making sure everything was correct. Washer worked well for two and a half weeks. Then I noticed the water was slowing down when it was filling. Then this morning the washer completely stopped filling. We called Maytag and they told us we could not get anybody here until next Saturday. They were rude on the phone. We then called Home Depot where we purchased it and said we want to return the washer and dryer. They said we cannot return it. We are stuck with it. Now weve been arguing with Home Depot and Maytag all morning trying to get someone to my home to get the washer fixed. This set cost $1,400 and Maytag is not supporting us on selling us 2 lemon washing machines. We are stuck because we cant return them or exchange them. Home Depot gave us an option to exchange for a lesser model that they have in stock. When you read the reviews for that model the reviews are terrible. I would highly recommend that you do not purchase a Maytag or Whirlpool product. Their company does not stand behind their products or their workmanship. If I had the opportunity I would return these to the store. But it has been over 30 days and I believe that is not an option. Stuck with a lemon. Very sad that customer service is so crappy on an American-made product.

The mid level dishwasher is excellent, easy to install. Very quiet. The dishwasher cleans well and does a great job. I wish the default would go to the last setting instead of auto. Highly recommend.

I also purchased a Maytag dishwasher a few years ago. It has never worked that well. We had a repairman come out once to replace the control board but the problem soon returned. Interestingly, we found that if we wait long enough until the control panel is in the mood, the dishwasher works again and the control panel responds to button pushes, until the problem returns.I dont recall what model I purchased but it seems to be irrelevant. From reading the other customer complaints, its quite obvious that all Maytag dishwashers inherently have problems with their control panels and Maytag intends on doing nothing about it. I guess the extra repair costs that their customers have to pay for their defective products brings in some additional revenue to Maytag, so theres no real motivation for them to fix their ** products.

I bought the Maytag MVWX700XL1 (Bravos X) model in 2012 from Home Depot. I paid over $800 for this washer. I knew I was in trouble when I found dry spots on clothes after the washing completed. I started using the Bulky cycle. So much for saving water. It has not been overused, its only two of us. Today the spin cycle sounds like a train. The washing cycle has stopped working completely. Im very dissatisfied with this washer.

We bought the Maytag Washer and Dryer set about two years ago from Home Depot. We have had to have the washer repaired several times in that two years, most recently for a cracked mother board controller unit. The same day we had to have the washer repaired, we also had to have the dryer repaired. Lint and dust is not properly filtered out by the filter and accumulates inside the dryer where it should not be, up against the gas heating unit. The repairman indicated that it was badly scorched and that we were lucky it had not caught on fire. Another customer of his had the same unit, which burst into flames one day when she had left the house with the dryer going, causing a house fire. The quality of these items is highly questionable. Having to spend nearly $600 to replace a cracked mother board only two years after purchase simply is unacceptable.

We purchased this Maytag Centennial washer in 2009 (model # mvwc6esw/Wd; type 849-05; ser # cy1741855) and I have hated it ever since. I had an old 406 Maytag washer that was worth its weight in gold - repaired it as long as possible. I bought this new one because it was a Maytag and that was a mistake. The way it agitates my clothes get tangled and they never did that in the other original Maytag. We had to have it fixed not long after we got it and now every time I turn it on, it immediately starts to agitate on every cycle except hand wash, which it never did before. If I knew it agitated the way it did, I never would have got it. Good thing we bought an extended warranty for this machine. We have used it once already and it looks like we may have to use it again. I am very disappointed in this machine and your workmanship. The old machines were much better and more dependable.

I bought a front loading Maytag Cloths washer model# MHW3505FW1, SER# C71451407 new in April 2017, from Home Depot, since then it has broken down three times, with a water pump, a master board, and now another master board, we were told by the appliance repair service that is used by Home Depot extended warranty service, that it will take a month to receive the master board. Thats it... Never again will we buy another Maytag or Whirlpool product. This is unacceptable. Gone are the years when Whirlpool and Maytag made quality products!

Problems with Maytag dishwasher, purchased at Sears Canada Model MDB7749S is only a couple of years old, and as such is no longer under warranty. This Dishwasher is less than 3 years old! Both the interior and exterior is stainless steel and looks virtually new. Cost of parts and labour to repair amount to more than a new dishwasher--this is unacceptable. Poor design. Little value compared to cost. First issue: bottom rack wheels fall off because the plastic pin holding the plastic wheels on the rack become fall out, leaving no way to hold the wheels onto the rack. Second issue: faulty design of the integrated door handle and control panel on the exterior door face. The control panel pops out of the front cover panel when door is pulled open. With some struggle it can be popped back in.I agree with another reviewer who wrote: The design of the faceplate is defective in that too much force is applied to the faceplate when opening the unit. The handle is integrated in to the faceplate. The plastic used becomes brittle over time and breaks. The panel unit (W10811169) must be replaced in entirety rather than just its housing increasing the cost of repair. To have this failure occur within the first 3 years of use is very premature. I can only assume if I repair the dishwasher I will have the same problem again. I am considering buying a new model that is designed better and comes with a longer warranty on such parts.

Delivered 10-4-19. 12-9-19 - Not Cooling, Called Whirlpool on hold for exactly 1 hour. 12-11-19 - Repair service here - ordered new Control Panel. 12-17-19 - New Control Panel Replaced. 1-6-20 - Freezer is not freezing. Control Panel going up and down and blinking constantly. Called Whirlpool - on hold for exactly 1 hour. They called service repair. 1-8-20 - Service Repair here and ordered 2 thermostats: 1 for freezer and 1 for refrigerator. 1-15-20 - Service Repair here to install 2 thermostats - At this time I purchased the extended warranty for $119.30 for 3 years.3-1-21 - Control Panel completely went out again. I called Whirlpool - on hold exactly 1 hour before they answer phone. I am so pissed. They call Service Repair. 3-3-21 - Service Repair here. They order new Control Panel. States these panels are continuously going out and they are having to replace them everywhere. 3-12-21 - I called Service Repair since we havent heard anything. ETA on control panel from Whirlpool is not scheduled until 3-19. I am really pissed by now.In the meantime I have been on hold with Whirlpool for 47 minutes. At exactly 1 hour being on hold, they answer my call. Im told I have to wait. There is nothing they can do. I told her we were buying ice every other day at $10.07 for 2 20# bags and they wont replace money. Told me to throw my items away and they would replace all the food for $250.00 one time during the 3 year contract period. The service is Customer service on their contract is terrible. Waiting for parts is even worse. This is a piece of crap appliance and we will never buy another Maytag.

WORST MACHINE EVER! Besides the soap scum Maytag Bravos XL Washer leaves on all of our jeans and my husbands work pants, the machine decides when it wants to work and when it does not want to work. Weve had repairmen over, we have called the 800 numbers, just like all of the other reviews on here. Ive readjusted clothes in that thing more than Ive done laundry in my life!!! I HATE this machine. Ive memorized the manual from reading it so many times, have the correct detergents, tried washing large loads, small loads, lined up the clothes around the outside so the middle thingie is not covered, thrown clothes loosely in there. Every way possible. The machine senses, starts filling, then just stops. Today, no matter what I do with the load in there, it will NOT run, it keeps shutting itself down and I do not even know what else to do. NEVER EVER EVER buy this machine! We will never own another Maytag EVER.

Last week I noticed that my freezer motor had a build up of frost. I melted it with a hair dryer. 2 days later there was a layer of frozen water on the bottom of my freezer as well as a layer of water on the first shelf in the fridge area. There is no way to access the drainage tube. I thought that the coils needed to be cleaned. That was not successful either since the coils run horizontal and only the front section can be vacuumed. Today, again the freezer motor area is frosted and layer of ice on bottom and the motor is making a terrible noise. How disappointing for a less than 2 year old fridge.

I bought my microwave in Nov of 2015. We began having problems in April 2017. When you cook or warm something up it gets hot. The light wont come on and the display continues to say open/close door. After about 4 hours of cool down time it may or may not restart. After contacting Maytag I was told I should have purchased the warranty. They also informed me that they do not have repairman in my area. We have just replaced all appliances with Maytag so now I am concerned they are all junk. We did buy warranties on the major appliances, but how will they repair with no repairman in my area. Maytag used to be the best appliances but after this experience and now I have a broken microwave after only a year and a half that they dont stand behind, I will never purchase any Maytag again. It also seems that this is not the only issue they are having with their microwaves. I have contacted my Lowes where we purchased and they even made a Maytag call with no results. Maybe the suppliers should stop promoting and selling their items. We replaced a 22 yr old Kenmore microwave that was still working thats why this is so heart breaking. Stand behind your products. No wonder you dont have repairman. They would never get a day off from repairing your junk.

Same problem as all the others, the dishwasher stopped working. The dishwasher is less than three years old; for a two-adult household. The control panel just stopped getting power. After multiple calls to Whirlpool/Maytag, all they will do for me is document my complaint. Im now out $167 to get this thing running with no guarantee that it wont happen again, as well as the fact that this should not have happened in the first place. I didnt misuse my dishwasher. It just stopped! I think there needs to be a class action lawsuit since the manufacturer will not stand behind this obvious defect.

We purchased a Maytag dishwasher MBD7749AWM on 03/15/12 from Home Depot. The control panel went out on 01/24/12 under warranty. The unit was down approximately 2 weeks waiting for parts and a second service call. Just six months later (approximately 08/05/12), the control panel failed again. Thinking that a trusted American, iconic industry leader such as Maytag would stand behind their product, I called for what I thought would be a covered repair. I explained to a supervisor that their panels have not made it 1 year in service. She assured me there were no out of the ordinary problems with the panels for my model dishwasher in one breath, then stated they were out of parts and on backorder for three weeks. Now the truth comes out, further telling me that the unit is out of warranty and nothing can be done short of sending out a repairman, that I would be responsible for parts and service. After further discussion, she reluctantly agreed to send me the part for free if I arrange the installation and told me that it was very simple to install. When the part finally showed up on my doorstep with no paperwork, it was wrong. When I called and complained for waiting 3 weeks for the wrong part because there was no quality control in their parts and shipping department, all they could do was say sorry. They told me just to keep the part they sent and they would send the correct part. I begged that they ship the correct part overnight and they adamantly stated that was not an option. Maytag stipulates their process only allows ground shipping from FedEx per their contract. Knowing I had no other option, I agreed and waited for 5-day ground. The part showed up 13 days later and delivered by USPS. Apparently, I was lied to again and the left hand has no idea what the right hand is doing. Apparently, Maytag/Whirlpool have an inadequate and poorly trained quality control system in place and their manufacturing and electronic divisions are surly lacking a strong management team needed to go in and clean house. Instead, the whole mess they have contributed to continues to haunt Maytag has continued to be made to believe its okay to produce subpar products while continuing the complete demises of a once trusted American, iconic industry leader all while living on the Lorals of twenty years past.Whirlpool would do itself and this country a huge service by just letting this brand die and thrown on the heaps of scrap steel headed for China where maybe they can copy and fix what they were not capable of.

This review is for a Maytag Gemini MGT8775XW 30 Freestanding Double-Oven Gas Range w/ 5 Burners. I cannot believe the amount of problems I have had from this $2000+ range. Within just a few weeks of getting it, the paint started scratching off the surfaces nearest the heat. Then, the plastic cover over the digital display and controls bubbled up due to the heat of the broiler being in use. They designed it so that the heat escapes from the oven right in front of the control panel, so when you want to adjust temperatures on the control panel, you chance getting burnt from the hot air every time.The very worst design are the manual knobs for the burners on the front. They are at an angle, and if you look at the oven straight on, you see they are higher than the burner surface. A hot pan that overhangs the burner cooks the knobs. The plastic interior of the knob lacks any kind of heat resistance and actually starts to turn soft, keeping you from being able to turn off the burner at all!Most dangerous of all, the knobs are frighteningly easy to bump, pouring gas into your house. We have had this problem multiple times. Today, my dog must have wanted to investigate the top of the stove, because when I came home, the burner was on, had burnt through a pot on the stove, and was just at the ignition point for an item sitting next to the stove. If I had come home 15 minutes later, my house would be in flames right now. I am having to air out my home as I type this. I am DONE with this dangerous oven and will be shopping for a new one, and it certainly wont be Maytag.

I bought the Maytag stainless steel refrigerator with the top double doors and bottom freezer. I paid $3000 for this thing and the ice maker has broken twice, an ice sheet forms on the bottom of the freezer and the drawers broke due to being cheaply made with plastic. I had the old style refrigerator for 15 years with not one problem. I think these newly made appliances are made crappy! Will never buy a Maytag again!!!!

Had the washer for less than 3 months just a week before the 90 warranty was up and it stopped spinning. Called service dept. What a joke for this company that keep yessing you. Took a week before someone came out. Said washer needed a new motherboard and they would only cover it once but there seems to be a ongoing issue with their motherboard. Had to wait over 2 1/2 weeks before they would have one in stock. The tech installed it however now when it spins seems she left the top loose.

I bought a Maytag dishwasher, stove and refrigerator and the dishwasher was a problem from the beginning. Repaired out twice and replaced the control panel. Seasonal residence, so the start of year 2 (this week) the control panel goes a third time. Its going to cost $387 to repair (told my elderly mother) and it turns out it was a warranty program that she purchased, not a repair estimate. She was misled as she called Maytag and they transferred her to a warranty company, and once again Maytag says theres nothing they will do. Now, Im hassled with cancelling that as well. I called Maytag and they dont stand behind their lemon of a product and said there is nothing they can do because its out of warranty (even though theyve been out twice to fix it). Do not buy a Maytag product. This is the first complaint Ive every written and I am just shocked that Maytag doesnt stand behind their product. Im informing 100s of people to not purchase Maytag and they will pass along my negative experience as well, for that, I am sure.

Faulty Maytag MDB8969 Dishwasher - BEWARE! Whirlpool, Jenn-Air, Amana, Maytag, KitchenAid... Are all brands that fall under Whirlpool. According to Better Business Bureau statistics there is less than 1 chance in 10 that you will get the Whirlpool product you are expecting! We purchased a new Maytag dishwasher at the end of 2016. Within a couple of weeks the dishwasher began failing: discharge pumps, heating elements, soap dispensers, door leaks, faulty racks, rinsing problems... Since purchasing the machine we have had to make 7 different service calls, all under warranty. The warranty service providers have been good but the machine has been a catastrophe, having been out of commission for several of the 18 months since being installed, and causing serious water damage to our kitchen floor (based on several other negative reviews this leaking is not an uncommon occurrence).A few months into owning the machine, after our 3rd service call, we contacted Whirlpool, Customer Service and asked for the machine to be replaced. They refused to replace the machine but extended our warranty free of charge- better than nothing but not a cure to the problem and the only remedial action that Whirlpool was willing to offer. We didnt understand at that point that the problem of faulty and defective Whirlpool products was probably so huge that Whirlpool could not afford to provide a reasonable solution to their customers; leaving many, as witnessed on various product review sites, to bear the extreme frustration and associated expenses borne from the incurred failures. Unfortunately, here we are once again, requesting our 7th service call in less than 18 months, and asking once again for a replacement.The Whirlpool response this time (CSR was not allowed to let us speak to her Supervisor in spite of trying to negotiate that for several minutes) was that they would not replace the defective machine but would sell us a new $850 machine for $250 and would dispose of the faulty machine for an additional $25. Whirlpool would not however pay for the uninstall of the faulty unit nor the install of the new unit (about $350) which would have to come out of our pocket. We won’t be spending the additional $600 to fix this problem as proposed by Whirlpool; we won’t be installing another Maytag product in our home. We were advised that we could fill out a form if we wanted, to try and claim for the damages which the dishwasher caused to our kitchen floor. The form was never emailed as agreed and now we are just really tired of the whole experience so will simply put this all behind us.Our Whirlpool experience has been extremely stressful and quite expensive. It is clear to us that if an appliance which is averaging a serious failure every 3 months since the first day of installation, does not in the opinion of Whirlpool warrant a full and prompt replacement, or even the direct telephone attention of a Customer Service Supervisor, that the Whirlpool quality standard must be so low, the failure frequencies so high, that the number of similar failures prohibits any commercial viability to manage the problems in a reputable manner. Whirlpool clearly has some very large problems. It would not have been easy to destroy the once highly respected Maytag name. Such degradation could only take place as a result of continuous and ongoing Whirlpool quality degradation. We will no longer be their ‘crash test dummies’ but I do hope for the sake of Whirlpool (apparently North American made) that they take ownership of their poor quality condition, realign and spend the next few years becoming the company that we all once knew and respected.

The washer drum fills up with very little water, very little. I can do an entire load of laundry and the stuff on top doesnt ever get wet. Went on Spring Break in Florida and a month later our clothes still smell like the beach. Grill out, and I smell steaks the next time I put on the shirt. Stain your clothes in any way, its there forever unless you hand wash it first.To get it to work at all, each time I have to start the wash cycle (I leave the soap out just to save it for the next start), let the drum fill with water, pause it, get all the clothes wet, then cancel the cycle. After it drains and the machine is off and full of wet clothes, then start it all over again adding soap this time. On the second try, set at deep cycle, it will add enough water to cover the clothes - Im guessing because it senses more clothes because the clothes are now wet from the first, cancelled cycle. During the wash cycle, Ill open the lid and robustly move everything around, almost hand washing. #Handy. The dryer is fine, Im keeping it. The washer, cant return it - been three months of this frustration (kept believing it was me, reset it multiple times, change the settings, tried everything). Im buying a new one and throwing this junk out. $700 lesson.

We paid over $800 (more with installation) for this quality dishwasher. Within one year we began to experience problems with this unit. The top control panel easily becomes water logged causing the device to fail.

I just purchased a Maytag Washer and Dryer. I am very pleased with the cleaning ability of this washer. It has set pre-timed washing and drying times. I would like to have availability of setting the times for a load to run. Same with the dryer. The book says you can do this but I have not figured out how. I have been very pleased with their abilities to do what they are supposed to do. Cleaning and Drying.
