Maytag Washer was bought on May 2010 for $746.29 and it broke down. It was used only twice a week. It now requires repairs worth $991.36. All Maytag reps say is I am sorry, there is nothing we can do. Isnt there a lemon law for major appliances?

I sold my 20 year old Maytag set and upgraded to this Maytag Bravos washer. This machine takes almost 1 hour to do a load and they come out dirty. Only way to get clean is to set on bulky sheet which uses twice as much water as old machine. This unit should have never been put on the market.

On June 5th, my husband turn off the water to the house since we were going to be away for 4 days. Unfortunately, it was not completely turned off. When we left, the washing machine was OFF, with the door slightly cracked open (to allow for circulation). When we returned, there was water all over in our upstairs, plus water had gone down the walls to the lower level. We could not figure out how the water got into the washer since it was turned off. The insurance company asked that we call a repairman to find out what was wrong. Fortunately for the repairman and us, the machine continued to go on and on after the Curtis had checked it out (it pumped out for him but not for us) and turned it OFF. It jumped from cycle to cycle after he had turned it off. Obviously the control board did its own thing. Be aware-- it can happen!!

After only about a year or so - and it is out of warranty - the clothes are not clean - there are white type of scum marks left on clothes and especially dark clothes. This is even after I use the recommended detergent and less than normal and do a double rinse. Have to wash clothes again with no detergent with a double rinse again. Just so annoying. Would never buy Maytag again.

Purchased a Maytag Bravos washer in 2009. Was told it was water efficient and electric efficient also. Spin cycle twisted my clothes in a knot and left white blotchy doors on my dark clothes, had to rewash my clothes again!!! Then started making a horrendous noise that could be heard from one end of the house to the other, like it was going to explode at any given time. Called technician, paid $75 and said it was bearings and that it would probably did the same noise again even with fixing it, that Id be wasting my money!! Worth getting rid of it!! I just hate it!! I will never buy another Maytag again.

We have a Maytag Dishwasher Model MDBTT60AWB purchased from Lowes about 8 or 9 years ago. This model was included in the huge 2010 recall of 1.7 million units due to the possibility of heater-unit fires. For the last couple of years, its had a problem staying on the selected cycle: After being started on normal wash, it reverted to rinse only after a few seconds, but eventually quit responded to the selection of other cycles altogether. Removing the back from the door to expose the innards revealed the ribbon cable that connects the circuit-board head to the control panel had worked loose. Reattaching it provides a temporary fix, but it eventually works loose again. We suppose the screw holding the back to the door will strip sooner or later, but by then well probably be so fed-up with fixing it that buying a new (non-Maytag) one wont seem like a bad option.

Maytag Dishwasher model #MDB7759SAW3 continues the Whirlpool company legacy
Maytag Dishwasher model #MDB7759SAW3 continues the Whirlpool company legacy of subpar control panels in all of their dishwashers. It is telling that they have been allowed to market the exact same failing parts for well over a decade without any accountability. They had one recall circa 2007-2010 and pushed customers into purchasing the model I have which suffers from the exact same control panel design. To further frustrate the consumer experience, Maytag customer service reps and supervisors allege that they have never heard of a customer having issues with their dishwasher control panel before. The panel beeps endlessly and refuses user input regardless of whether the door is opened or closed. After a power disconnect it will reset and sometimes allow one load to be washed before resuming the non stop beeping. If opened and closed during the beeping it will cycle through a completely new wash cycle on its own and resume beeping. Maytag customer service response this morning was, “thank you for being a Maytag customer”.We will my be purchasing their replacement control panels as they are of poor quality and it is well documented that the new ones fail annually as well. These are “high end” appliances and are not inexpensive. We will simply cease to use whirlpool, Maytag, Kenmore, Kitchenaid, etc. brands in our home and will advise everyone we know to protect themselves the same way.

Purchased my appliance at Lowes in 2012. I have had at least 8 service calls, the unit has NEVER worked as designed. Water leaks inside and out. The ice maker door heater had to be replaced. Fan Motors have gone out on it, broken water tubes. The temperature wont stay consistent, it freezes my refrigerator items, ruptures beverage bottles and cans. This once quiet unit is 3 times as loud than when I bought it. I am so frustrated!!!What a value $2,000 for the appliance, $700 out of pocket for repairs to date, $$ in lost food items, $$ in my time to clean the mildew, water, exploded beverages, cant put a $$ on the embarrassment when family/friends use. What is the potential danger to myself and family when the mildew is in the unit and water leaks into open refrigerator items? Next scheduled repair from my factory authorized repair technician? 10/29/2013.

My husband and I bought a Maytag dishwasher, Stove and Fridge. We were very reluctant because at our prior home we had Maytag appliances and they kept going out. Against our better judgement when we moved into our new home we decided to go with Maytag once again. First the dishwasher front panel stopped working. We had it replaced and it cost over 250.00 with replacement part and labor. Not a week later went by when our Fridge went out, that cost us another 300.00 plus to fix. Keep in mind we had only had these appliances for about 14 months. Less than a year of replacing the dishwasher panel it has gone out again. This is very frustrating and expensive. I dont usually write comments, but felt the public needed to know that Maytag has poorly made appliances. I recommend you spend the extra couple of hundred bucks and buy the better brands and warranties. Thank you.

Purchased a new Maytag washer (MAH5500BWW) and matching dryer along with the pedestal that they sit on in late November of 2003. Spent well over $1900.00 for everything including the delivery charge. I noticed the build up of mold/mildew inside the washer starting in early 2005 but cleaned it every week or so and it seemed to go away. As time went along the mold/mildew smell got stronger even after each cleaning that I did with bleach. Nothing seemed to help.It wasnt until 3 days ago when I had my dryer vent cleaned by a professional company that the technician looked over at the washer and said You know that washer was recalled and that there was a class action lawsuit against Maytag about mold/mildew issues involving that model. He opened up the washer door and looked and was shocked. He told me that he himself had the same Maytag model washer and was notified by Maytag years ago about the class action lawsuit. He told me that he had received what he called a buy back check from Maytag. I wondered why I had not been notified since I had purchased both units new and registered both with Maytag after my purchase.I decided to do a search for my washer model number and looked for mold/mildew issues and was shocked to find thousands of complaints involving this issue with this model of washer. I then called Maytag/Whirlpool and this is where the fun begins. I called and explained to the customer service rep at Maytag/Whirlpool what the problem was with my washer and asked her why I was never notified of any recall or class action lawsuit involving my washer. After thinking for a minute or two she says that she is unaware of any problems with my model of washer and asked me to recheck my model number. I do this and again she says that she is unaware of any problems associated with my washer. I explain to her about the thousands of complaints on the internet about this mold/mildew problem and she then says I shouldnt believe everything I read on the internet. At this point I ask to speak to her supervisor which she says she transfers me to and the fun continues. The supervisor then tells me that the customer service rep whom I was speaking with is new and doesnt remember the issues with my model of Maytag washer but she herself does remember the issue of mold/mildew build up inside the washer. I ask her why wouldnt this issue of mold/mildew in this washer be in your system for this rep to be able to refer to? She then says that since this issue was so long ago its not in their system anymore. Huh???She asks me if I was part of the class action lawsuit involving this washer and I explain to her that I was never notified of any such lawsuit so I couldnt have been part of it. She then says that Maytag has since settled this issue long ago and since I missed signing up for the class action lawsuit I was just out of luck. Somehow its now my fault for them not notifying me about the class action lawsuit years ago!She then offers to send out a repair person to look at my washer and to look at the mold/mildew problem. I ask her if the service call was free and she snickered and said no, why would it be free? I tell her I thought it should be free because I paid nearly $2000.00 for these machines because I was looking to get the top of the line machines. Now I have a mold/mildew infested Maytag washer that smells and looks so bad its a assumed health risk. She again tells me that the service call will not be free and asks if I want her to schedule it now. I quickly decline! She then tries explain to me in some odd fashion that I should be happy that I got 10 years of service from my washer/dryer and hoped that I would continue to purchase Maytag. What??? Are you crazy woman!? Now its me who is laughing at this point. I almost say some very bad things to her but better judgment takes hold and I just hang up. Now you have heard my story and Im now looking for another washer/dryer so I can remove this health hazard from my home. I will never ever buy anything that has a Maytag/Whirlpool named attached to it.

Internet stated refrigerators should last a minimum of 13 yrs and up. Mine is less than 5 yrs. old, a Maytag 25 cu. ft. French Door Bottom Mount Ref. with freezer on the bottom (MFF2558VEW). Had to replace upper gasket in less than 1 yr. of purchase and needs another now (not affecting the sealing aspect on doors, more aesthetic on upper door thin flap that tears easily).Drain plug & configuration for drain was a known manufacturers defect, but cost me money to replace as 3 yr. extended warranty expired. Lower gasket had to be replaced in yr. 4 of ownership, bottom of freezer was producing a sheet of ice that needed removal every week. Normal settings is #3 for both top and bottom, worked fine for 4 yrs at this setting.Last month irregular cooling started to occur- top down to 52 degrees and bottom freezer below -20 degrees - ice cream hard as rock, have to defrost each time in microwave. Maytag repairman said could find nothing wrong, but try emptying entire contents and unplug for 24 hrs. I could hear pieces of ice melting and dropping throughout the evening. Next morning towels I had put around frig were saturated with water. Restarted frig after 24 hrs. and was working fine for 5 wks. This week same exact problem returned so I did the same thing only this time I had to go out and buy a small chest freezer as I had a full one in my Maytag and no place to put frozen food. It is nearing 24 hrs. and no water has appeared on the floor nor did I hear any ice melting and dropping - so dont know what to do. Will call repair man again and see what he suggests. As soon as I can afford another $1400 frig (this was on sale for $1,002 after discounts, but I will buy a less expensive one this time) I will purchase another brand with NO French doors and no bottom freezer. I loved my frig the first 3 yrs. under warranty, but now causing me too much physical problems having to empty and restock frig for repairs. I have a Tappan Frigidaire in the garage that is from 1998 - I bought from a neighbor who was moving and it has been working fine for 16 yrs. with no repairs. They dont make them like they used to!

We bought new appliances when we moved to our new house last June (2016). Sears recommended the Maytag 600S pair (HE washer and dryer). We have contacted Sears numerous time to have service people out because many times (75%) the washer does not fill with enough water to wet all the clothes and there is a layer of dry clothes at the top when the wash cycle ends.I do not believe that dry clothes get clean because they are near wet clothes in the washer. But Sears insists this is by design. Some service people tell us that the top loading HE washer will be gone soon because of the complaints but we have to struggle on. Sears seems to hope we just get tired and stop calling as their Customer Service policy. I have to dump 1-2 buckets of water into almost every wash that we do. As a side note, the 600S series has a slanted top rather than the traditional flat top. It looks cute but things fall/roll off of it. It would be nice to put things on top of the washer or dryer while doing the laundry but they roll/slide/fall off. The design is not so cute anymore. Actually, really a stupid idea.

My complaint is not against Home Depot but Maytag Products. They are inferior products. Stay away from Maytag! Note: We are in our mid-to late 60s, no kids using these products and they do not get a lot of wear and tear. Maytag Microwave: MMV 4205DS-0, May 29, 2014 we purchased Maytag appliances for our kitchen (stove and microwave from Home Depot). I liked the 10 year metal warranty plate attached to the front limited warranty of the microwave. This means nothing! They cover the stainless cavity of the microwave (a part that will never go bad). June 3, 2014 this microwave was delivered. Thanksgiving, the microwave went out November 30, 2015 this was replaced with GE Profile Model JVM3160RFSS for $178. November 30, 2015, Diamond Factory Service was here for the Microwave. We paid $90 for the service call. They wanted $228.09 to repair (1-8206419 Switch $15.22; 1 W10269460 Switch $27.03; 1 W10727360 Microswitch $27.03 and Labor $155.00). Maytag Dishwasher MDB7749AWM. Purchased from Al race Appliance for $599.95 total with tag etc was $920.27 on 5/16/12. So thankful was purchased the additional warranty for five years. We have had 2 service calls so far for the same issue, which is W10356494 Console CMFF0312434. This is a known problem (it will not start). I wish I would have googled the model before purchase was made. When the warranty expires, this will go to the curb too. Also, purchased Maytag Neptune Washer and Dryer from Best Maytag, Rockford. The dryer had problems with the circuit board after a short time. Too expensive to replace. Our family and friends ALWAYS purchased Maytag only. No more! Stay away! We are waiting for the oven to go next. Oh and check out the bottom drawer. There use to be room for pots and pans. No more. Lucky to get your pot holders in there.

I bought the Maytag Bravos because I was told it was top of the line and expected that Maytags reputation for quality would provide me with many years of dependable service without problem. Boy, was I taken for a ride! Unless you have a lot of money to spend, DO NOT buy a Maytag Bravos washing machine. After only 3.5 years of normal use (3-4 standard loads per week) and doing everything as suggested by the owners manual, my machine has developed a bad drum bearing. The cost to repair this bearing is $400 for parts and $200 for labor. In other words, I am forced to buy a new machine after ONLY 3.5 years of use. When I called Maytag customer service department to question them about my problem, their response was there are no recalls on your machine, so we cannot do anything for you. When I further questioned them about the lack of quality/dependability my machine provided, they again said, Sorry, the machine is out of the warranty period. Thank you for buying Maytag. If you buy one of these washing machines, you better have the extra money to buy an extended warranty.

I purchased the Maytag dishwasher a little over two years ago (MDB6759AWQ0). This was the first Maytag product I bought and it is definitely the last one! It was more expensive, but because of Maytags commercials on what good products they had, I thought it would last longer and work better. Boy, was I wrong. When it was installed, it was loud. I brought this to the attention of Maytag. I was told there was nothing that they could do. Repair people were sent to my home several times to see if the noise could be fixed and unfortunately, it could not. This is the loudest dishwasher that I have ever had. I should have stayed with the same brand that was over 10 years old that died! Now the control panel blew out and will cost over $300 to have it fixed. After reviewing the numerous complaints that you have on your dishwasher with the control panels not working, I would think Maytag would be more financially responsible in helping the people that have your products that no longer work after being less than three years old. Just a heads up, Maytag, I will be replacing instead of fixing and not with another Maytag product!

March 31, 2013 a Maytag front loader washer series 2000 was purchased. In January an error code E4 and F3 kept stopping the washer. Service replaced some minor part, worked for a week. Then service replaced a circuit board - worked fine for a few months. About June of 2014 the codes came up again. This time Service wants 430.00 for a 700.00 dollar washer to fix a continuing issue. So I decided not to spend the money. I could buy another washer, different brand of course, and try and fix it myself. I removed the top and the bottom front covers. The 3 wires going into the circuit board that was replaced were loose, barely plugged in. The catch all at the very bottom right had derbies and coin in it, cleaned that out. Looked at the motherboard with a magnifying glass. It had no bad solders, cracks or burn marks, so I proceeded to run my hands around the entire drum inside... and in the back side where you can’t really see were some more loose wires.... tightened them. Now with the spin rpms you can understand how things shake loose, I always look for the common sense issues.... I am currently on my third wash load. It runs smoother and quieter than it did when it was first installed. Point is the Maytag service sucks and with only a year warranty from the manufacturer. What did I have to lose to try and fix it myself. I am sure this is happening with a lot of other people. The odds of a motherboard or a circuit board going bad in such a short time made no sense. So check all the wiring FIRST. Make sure everything is securely plugged in. I would not recommend anyone buy a Maytag or Whirlpool (owns Maytag) for their reliability or service.

This is a dishwasher purchased at Home Depot on March 25, 2012 for a rental unit... call from tenant said the dishwasher did not work. Repair person from Appliance Hospital went out today and said the control panel is out and the touch pad. Cost is over $500 to replace. I will have to replace this dishwasher BUT NOT WITH ANOTHER MAYTAG.

It does roll the clothes to point they are wrapped around and among each other and must be pulled apart before placing in dryer. I will never buy another Maytag product, and moreover, will tell everyone I possibly can, not to do so either. Like many others, I have a two-year-old dishwasher that needs a control board already, and from what Ive read this wont be the first time. It would cost $150 for the part, plus the service calls make it around a $350 experience. The only choice is to pull the machine out, or buy a 5-year warranty for another $318.56. Grand total for your marvelous high quality Maytag that lasts only 7 years? Around $1,000. I am so sad, the company used to symbolize quality but now when I see the logo, I think of landfills.

We had a Neptune Maytag for over 12 years, best machine ever but this one (Bravos XL) is complete junk. We have been very disappointed in its ability to clean clothes with the length of time to complete its cycles is ridiculous. Its always out of balance with just a few pieces and lack of water twisting everything in knots. Well 16 months after purchase here we are with a broken machine, we have a fried circuit board. Purchased Maytag Bravos Washer in 2013. Used a little over a year and had to put it in storage for 2 years. Biggest piece of junk Ive ever had. Ive had cheap washers that lasted more than 20 years! Repairman said all diagnostics read normal. I put a very small load in to show him the water was not even wetting the clothes and only swishing them around a little. The shirt on top never got wet and was still in its same position when it went into the final spin. He said this is normal. He recommended I dump the machine and find an old NON Maytag model with the tall agitator!!! Ive tried using all the settings combinations; and the water level never gets all the clothes wet and clothes do not get clean. Will NEVER buy a Maytag product again.

I have had this washer for a few years now and it is the WORST machine ever. It never gets clothes fully clean as air gets trapped in some items so they stick out above the water. The drum only fills about 1/4 of the way no matter what you are washing. It is always unleveling and you have to constantly re-arrange bed sheets and larger items. I have to first soak larger items before the wash cycle. Nice HE machine. When I purchased this machine the sales person said you can wash 10 bath towels. I read the directions which said make small piles of clothes and I called and told her that after I had purchased the machine. Her reply was oh, I didnt know that. Obviously. This top loader without the agitator cleans great if you only throw in about 10 thong underwear at a time or two pair of jeans.

I have the Maytag Direct Drive Motor washing & dryer set the is supposed to be “commercial technology.” The washer is supposed to keep wet clothes fresh if they don’t make it to the dryer right away. After 2 years, I disagree in that it offers no better outcome than the much older machine I replaced. Furthermore the dryer cuts off leaving my clothes damp every single time, which I cannot stand. It leaves my clothes to wrinkle terribly and damp to stink if I do not collect them fast. I honestly wish I still had my old set. All the new features simply fail to measure up not to mention over complicate and add expense to repairs.

I bought my Maytag Bravos washer and dryer set about 3.5 years ago when I moved into my home. There was a 20-year old set here that did work, but I wanted something newer and more efficient, so I donated the old set and bought these. Performance of the washer has always seemed mediocre, clothes dont get as clean as I think they should, whites are dingy, despite using hard-water additives and the correct HE products.A few months ago, the washer started a new behavior: stopping during the initial fill cycle and displaying an F1 error. I soon figured out if I hit cancel then start again, it would resume filling and proceed with the cycle. Over time, I had to repeat it more and more. Its now up to ten F1 errors both at the beginning and end of the cycle. I dont have that kind of time to babysit my washer. I already have a full-time job.I have called Maytag/Whirlpool twice now, both times getting unsatisfactory answers. Even after escalating to the customer service supervisor, I was basically told that it is most likely the control board that is the problem and since Im no longer under warranty (that washer ‘is’ almost 4 years old, maam), Id either have to order the part myself from their supplier (total cost $250 + the risk of DIY), or buy their service package for about $350 which included fixing that problem plus one additional years warranty.I pointed out that for a major household appliance that I (over) paid for, I expect a life of more than 4 years, especially since I had a working 20-year old washer when I moved in here. Since when is this acceptable? I could understand if it were a wear-and-tear part, like a rubber seal or something that moved constantly and would eventually need replaced. But this is the electronics module, something that cant (or at least, shouldnt) be worn down or broken by use or even user error. This is an integral part of the machine, and if it has a fault (which it clearly does), the manufacturer needs to stand behind it and help the consumer. What angered me even further is that the customer service manager even admitted that models similar to mine had had similar problems, and a free control board was sent to those customers. But my model was not in that range of production, so clearly they have no fault, in their eyes. Apparently, its not even remotely possible that maybe when they determined the range of models they believed to be faulty, mine hadnt been in use long enough to display the same behavior? Maybe the range they selected is too restrictive and they missed some. From the volume of complaints Ive seen online, Id bet that to be the case.I asked to be transferred to their legal department, and was refused because we just dont transfer customers to the legal department. Well, I just dont buy Maytag or Whirlpool anymore, and Im going to do my best to make sure nobody else does either. Im replacing this ** with a different brand, one Ill be sure has tremendous reviews and a manufacturer that will stand behind it.

Do not purchase this microwave! I checked the reviews and thought they couldnt all have the same problem. THEY DO! This Maytag Microwave MMV4205DS1 has some faulty switch in the door latch mechanism. The warranty repair company came and adjusted the switches... and then fully replaced the switches. Each time it worked for about 30-60 days and then the same error would repeat itself. Never resolved... buying a different microwave. Be sure to check all reviews for repetitive complaints. This microwave will NOT function AT ALL with the door open/close message. Here are the details of our microwave. Purchased from Home Depot December 2015. First experienced the open/close door message around June 2016 (6 months after purchase). With the open/close door message, the interior light will not come on, the keypad will accept entries but will give the open/close door message as soon as start is pressed. Repaired under warranty August 2016. Repairman tightened and replaced one of the two fuses behind the metal plate. Also moved the door connectors as far as they would go to help with the door sensor issue. Worked until mid-December. Same message reappeared. Called repair company. Still under warranty. He order new switch parts and installed in January 2017. Microwave worked for 2 months. Then same exact door/open close message. Called repair company. Since we do not have an extended warranty, the parts would be covered but not the labor. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS MICROWAVE or any other microwave that has reviews listing a door open/close issue. It will not go away! ...and you will be very frustrated.

We had purchased a Maytag refrigerator from a local appliance store in May 2012. The fridge was delivered in June and come August 5, 2013, it does not work. First, the temperature of the refrigerator declined drastically causing us to lose over $500 worth of food. Items that were even unopened had to be thrown down the drain. The first call was made to Maytag customer service. They decided to send a technician. Great. The technician came and informed us that it was the refrigerant. WRONG. The second technician comes and states that the compressor is shot and that is why it is not staying cold. Time to order the compressor that is on back order. Shocking. Another week goes by without a fridge. Cut to the third technician who comes and installs the new compressor. Fridge is cool and at about 32 degrees for probably 4 hours. The food goes back in the fridge and the temperature climbs to 70 within minutes. Strike two. Contact Customer Service and demand answers on what can be done. Speak with the first representative named Melinda. If you get her good luck. She states she doesnt care and hangs up. Call back to speak with another representative who is very sweet and compassionate and tries her best to help. Unfortunately, she was unable to do so. Asked to speak with a supervisor and had the displeasure of speaking with Scott. For all the trouble that we have been going through, time wasted, food thrown away, Scott can offer $100. Yeah, okay, nice try. The more we speak with Scott, he ups the ante to $150 and the final offer of $200. I advised Scott that there is someone higher than him that needs to be involved after he told me that he was the highest I could go. Wrong again. Time goes by and nothing happens. We receive a call from Yvette ** that was missed and call her back in the corporate executive office. We have contacted her and left her 4 voice mails and the response has been nothing. Actually, calling her you get her message that she is not available. This is over the span of a week. Nothing. ANOTHER technician is sent to look at the fridge and what was supposed to be a brand new compressor that was installed and states that the fridge is condemned. Well isnt that lovely?! Of course because the parts are made in Brazil and Maytag is charged $15 for them and they charge the consumer $200. There is no reason why they should work. We got in touch with the appliance store who told us that we need to speak with Maytag to ask for our money back because we are NOT taking the same fridge as a replacement. Now, we are plagued with the appliance store not taking our calls, the corporate executives not taking our calls, and a $1300 stainless steel french door paperweight. With a call in to our attorney and the phone poised to be dialing our local news stations, I am not sure of what the next move for Maytag will be. Im sitting here after 21 days of not having a refrigerator hoping that a call and resolution comes soon. My family will NEVER EVER purchase a Maytag appliance again. I wouldnt even purchase Maytag brand toilet paper because Im sure that it would need to have one function and even that function as easy as it is would not work. People, please save yourself the headache and the money and the time of dealing with Maytag, Whirlpool, and Amana. Their customer service does not care about you, their products are crap, and they will swindle you and leave you high and dry. I hope to have some good news about this issue but I can guarantee that nothing good is going to come of this, well, at least for Maytag. Get on your social media and let people know how TERRIBLE this company is. STOP BUYING THEIR PRODUCTS. Sorry Maytag, the buck stops here.

Our Maytag Bravos Top loader with no agitator is headed to the junk pile after 1.5 years of BAD service. I honestly believe that whoever writes a good review on this machine is NOT an actual owner. Lets start with how it NEVER cleaned our clothes... The washer uses barely enough water to get the clothes wet. Soap remains in the clothes so the family is constantly itchy! If you add 3 additional rinse cycles, its still not nearly enough to get out the detergent and youre left asking yourself, What about the HIGH EFFICIENCY???? Next theres the issue of the water never being hot ENOUGH to kill bacteria (were back to the itchy thing). Its suppose to be an energy saver, but at what expense? Its not QUIET like promised (well maybe for the first few months). But upon opening the lid, you realize it was quiet because not a lot was happening to get the clothes clean. Now lets talk about the horrible smell... I dont know where its coming from... It occurs during the wash cycle and smells almost like a natural gas type odor. This is NOT because the washer wasnt cleaned once per month! Maybe its the bright orange RUST near the bleach dispenser or all along the inside rim of the lid... Remember its ONLY 1 and 1/2 years old. Before I get to the ISSUE that finally did this machine in... I have to mention the machines UNEVEN load response.. Brace yourself, it sounds like 1000 tribal drums... and if you dont readjust the 200 lb water logged load, it will just keep on filling up with water and draining indefinitely (so dont leave the house if youre washing jeans, blankets or sheets!). The FINALE of our machine is what I kind of always suspected it would be... the lid lock!!!! One day it stopped in the middle of a cycle and the door remained locked... After unplugging and retrying, the door unlocked, the buttons all worked, but the machine will not fill up with water or start a cycle. To be honest... I am so GRATEFUL! I get to buy a new machine and although Im pretty pissed that the machine died after just 1.5 years, we can finally have CLEAN clothes again, peaceful laundry days and get rid of the ITCHIES!!!! Bye bye FOREVER Maytag!!!!!!

Very Poor Quality from Maytag Although (Dishwasher, model MDB8959AWS) - I knew Maytag always had a reputation of selling quality products I have never purchased a Maytag appliance because they usually cost more than other brands, so this is my 1st Maytag product. After ~25 months (after all warranties have expired), the unit stops working. The lights seem to have a mind of their own. I removed power from the unit for 1/2 hour attempting to re-boot the computer but the condition did not change. After researching the issue online, I found that Maytag has a two big problems: 1) Defective dishwashers, 2) Bad or no customer service.I am an engineer and this type of a problem (it happens from time to time) MUST be acknowledged and the customer made whole or the reputation of the company is destroyed and future sales will (and should) diminish to the point that the company may(?) go away for ever. I know products are not designed to last a lifetime like they were in the 60s & 70s but 3.3 years for a $650.00 appliance is way out of line. The dishwasher we replaced was ~18 years old, and we only replaced it because my wife wanted a more modern look.

I have never been so disappointed in purchasing an appliance for my home. The Maytag Bravo XL large capacity top loader, has never worked properly, and I have many ruined pieces of clothing. Although it has a very large capacity, the water barely fills to a 1/4, and clothes are sticking out of the water, while they are supposed to be submerged/being washed IN the water. Clothes come out of the washer smelling foul. WORST WASHING MACHINE EVER.

I just purchased this Maytag Commercial Technology Washer and Dryer on August 31st, 2018 and We hooked it up today Sept 4th 2018. I put a small load of towels in this machine and it said it would take an hour and thirty seven minutes to wash. I added my detergent and pressed all of the necessary buttons and started the load. the machine started spinning and testing and adjusting. I waited to hear the water start to come into the washer but nothing. I then checked my water lines thinking they are not on but they were. Through the smokey glass on the washing machine, I could see water dripping as if it is hooked up to a slow drip IV Machine.I am taking this thing back ASAP!!! First thing in the morning on Sept 5th 2018 I do not need to call Maytag Customer Service because they know it is a piece of junk, so I do not need to waste a moment with this crap on my property. I see Maytag does not believe in a QUALITY ASSURANCE DEPARTMENT because that department would put a stamp of approval on this Junk for distribution. No Washing machine should take more than 30 minutes (40 mins max) to wash no clothes. I will have to invest in an old school scrub board and rocks, then I can understand an hour and thirty minutes worth of wash time. I have set the timer on my phone when I started this load and My towels have been in the washer for an hour so far and I can still hear the slow IV DRIP OF WATER going. I just checked the machine and the digital reading is saying it has an hour and thirty three minutes to go. there is no water in the tub of this washing machine. The towels are wet from the IV drip and the machine is now pretending to agitate the dirty towels but it is only going in one direction. It is truly a sad state of affairs, your hard earned money gets you nothing but junk and a runaround.

I bought my Maytag Neptune washer and dryer in 08 or 09, and it has smelled like mold and mildew for years but I still have to use it because I cant afford to get a new one. I cant get the smell out. Also, I have to take the pump apart at least once a year due to the fact that sometimes, no matter how you check your pockets, change still gets left behind and they dont make a screen or filter that will keep the change out of the pump. It is not hard to do, but the first year I had it, it were in the service center as much as it was home. I was glad when someone told me what was happening because I fix it myself in like 15 minutes and move on. But it should come with a self service manual showing how to do this procedure to save people money.

I purchased a Maytag Bravo Washer in October of 2011, I had a repair man come to check it since the spin cycle sounds like a jet is revving its engines in the laundry room. He told me that the repair cost is $493.50 to replace the transmission. The machine also has problems with the circuit board. The lid lock goes on and off and on and off so you cannot run the machine. Speaking to Maytag they just kept saying your warranty is over and we dont offer any assistance on the repairs. The machine cost $530.00 in 2011 and they think its reasonable to have repairs more than the cost of a new washer. They said they had no complaints on the model. My repairman advised not to buy Bravo, Cabrio or Calypso models since they all have the same problem with the transmission and electronics. I think they should at least pay for the parts, the transmission is $300. And we didnt even price the electronic part of repair.

My water bill has gone up a lot because I have to rewash the load so thats twice... I cant even use the XL tub because it wont fill up with water. Horrible product. Cant believe Maytag is still in business. They dont stand behind product. Called. Complained. They gave me nothing except for some free pods to clean a washer thats only 6 months old. Ive tried every cycle to see which one will wash the best. Still Horrible Horrible. Doesnt get anything cleaned. Here I thought nothing could get worse than a front loader? Well the Maytag is worse Horrible product. Dont buy. Dont waste your money. Try another brand!!!

We bought a Maytag Gemini double oven in June 2007. It has been a problem from day one. It arrived with a damaged door. They reordered and replaced it. Through the next few months, I became very discouraged with the oven. I bake a good bit and was always used to an oven with fairly accurate temperature. This oven will not reach or sometimes just wont maintain a steady temperature. After a couple of service calls, I gave up. I now raise the temperature setting about 50-75 degrees higher that the recipe requires. Naturally, I dont always get the best results. However, that isnt the thing that really bothers me. These ovens have three ignitors. About every six months, one breaks. The cost is over $200.00 each time. The ovens/broiler are highly unreliable. After mixing up something or on an important holiday, one may find that the oven wont light. Theres no warning! It is simply gone. I will never again buy a Maytag! I called Maytag and questioned them about the lemon law. I was told that the same piece had to break three times in one year. That is crazy, when the entire thing doesnt and has never worked well.

I bought a Maytag Bravos top loader washer and dryer less than 2 years ago.
I bought a Maytag Bravos top loader washer and dryer less than 2 years ago. I started having problems with my dryer 3 months ago and after several service calls (and a few hundred dollars), it still does not dry our clothes. I spent over $1500 for the pair and was excited to have a top end washer and dryer. My biggest complaint is with the manufacturer, Maytag - they just dont seem to care. I did not buy the extended warranty for two reasons. First, I bought a nice unit and expect it to work properly for a reasonable amount of time (at least 4-5 years without any problems). Second, they are just a bad purchase and they cost about half of the unit and if you buy a nice unit, you shouldnt need one. I could have bought a new dryer for what I spent to try and have this one work properly. My wife and I spent $600 for our last set which lasted 7 years without a problem; they were manufactured by GE, which I now wish I would have bought another GE. My wife talked me into buying a new pair to accommodate the needs of our growing family. I wished I would have kept the GE pair that was working.I would not recommend any Maytag appliance: they really just dont care to provide any reasonable service to stand behind their products. What a shame. This reminds me of why many foreign manufacturers are beating us at what we used to do best - make products that last and work! The washer and dryer look nice and have many great features, but these dont matter much if they dont work.

We are two elderly ladies (sisters) that used it once or twice a week. I feel we got ripped off. We cannot afford parts, labor, or a new washer. This product needs to be pulled. And Home Depot should not sell anything that is not a better quality. I trusted both companies and am sorry I did. Thanks.

Our Maytag microwave MMV4205FZ-0 has the same ubiquitous problem as so many reviewers have mentioned. The microwave refuses to turn on (always at the most inopportune moments--like when the entire family is over for dinner. It doesnt matter how many times you open and close the door, it will often refuse to start. I think the worst part about this situation is that there are so many reviewers experiencing the exact same problem. Imagine how many havent posted a review. Doesnt it seem as though a rethinking of the door switch would have been in order long ago along with a recall? The fact that hasnt happened after so long and so many customers who are disappointed in their purchase is a sad commentary.

Purchased a new Maytag washer from a local Hardware store chain. Waited 3 days for delivery. Old washer was hauled away. Started using new Maytag Centurion the same night it was received. There was a funny odor coming from the washer that was discounted as new equipment smell. Saturday the Maytag Centurion washer was leaking some odd lubricant that had the same odor as the mentioned new equipment smell. Since this lube had been leaking out in close proximity as the liquid detergent my wife used a towel to clean it up. This towel went into the laundry with other clothes. Now Im concerned that whatever this oily stuff is, it’s in all of the clothing that was washed with the towel. Since I live on the West Coast and Maytag only answers the phone during the week Eastern Daylight Time I will call (2 days) after the fact. You might do well by finding out what this lube stuff is before you take it home and how youll have to deal with it once it leaks.

This machine was in best machines of 2019/2020. It has many features. Ive had one day and have multiple concerns, I will be returning the machine. The dryer isnt great either. Had multiple loads not dry. On the washer, there is no interior light so you cant actually see items in washer to judge soap etc. Has a soap disp that is supposed to hold multiple loads, says 8. Ive washed over 8 and the out of soap alert hasnt come on as youd expect, but when I check the dispenser is full of water so who knows! Cant see inside so I have so way of knowing if there is soap that is still going in, should I add more or what? The alert bell is too quiet, cant hear outside of the laundry room. Multiple loads have not spun out well, leaving standing water and clothes too wet for dryer. Ive had to run a drain/spin cycle to get clothes spun out. It is supposed to connect to wifi but that hasnt been successful, plus, not everyone keeps a phone on them 24/4! Need a louder alert. I washed a sm item that threw it off balance. My LG washed a small floor mat with no issues. I do a significant amt of research before a LG purchase and I feel I was lead astray. I am not happy with this washer or dryer. I wanted to buy American made but this is not up to the standard I expected from Maytag.

I purchased this five-burner gas stove two years ago. I have this stove repaired three times. The first and second problem with the stove is when I turned on the oven, it would never click on. This was a month after I purchased the stove. They sent someone over to correct the problem and that did not work. The third time someone came. He changed something in the oven and it started to work. After that, I continue to have trouble with the oven. When I have the top eyes on, the oven will not work. When I only turn on the oven, it will go to 350 only. It will cook for an half hour and then cut off. I smell gas in my house and my food is smelling like gas. I have stop using the oven. I did not purchase a stove to not use the oven. This is totally ridiculous!!! I am tired of this situation. Maytag needs to recall these ovens, so I can purchase an oven that works. I have thrown food away because it smells like gas - because the oven will cut off in the middle of cooking. I am very tired of this situation and when you call Maytag, their customer service is terrible. I will never buy Maytags products again. Please help.

I bought my Maytag Quiet Series 300 about 6 or 7 years ago. About January this year the clean light quit working but the dishwasher was still doing its job. Every once in a while the clean light would come on again and then go away. I did not worry about this as the dishwasher was still working despite the absent clean light. I did call Maytag and told them about this. I believe I even asked if they (customer service rep.) had heard about this and was told no. Last Friday the start button no longer works which means the dishwasher will not function. Some of the other lights/buttons work but not start or clean. I have dealt with Maytag repair service/customer service before about my Maytag washer. I know they are not much help and I always end up paying a lot of money. I am not interested in calling a Maytag repair person in and paying from what 300.00 to 400.00 dollars to get it fixed. Past experience of others seem to prove that it will break down again. Last Maytag appliance that I will ever buy. I used to be a loyal customer. I want to join the class action suit. Please tell me how I can join.

I bought a refrigerator from Home Depot in July 2013. In late November 2014, I noticed water on the floor in front of the fridge. I called the Maytag customer service and reported the problem.. The customer service rep explained to me that Maytag discovered a design flaw in the part that allows the water to drain when going through the defrost cycle. I also called Home Depot. Their response was it was my problem because the fridge was out of warranty and I did not buy an extended warranty plan. After two more calls to Maytag, they scheduled a service appointment. The service repairman told me the same thing about the design flaw. I have the old part and the package the new part was in. The two parts are completely different. I requested that Maytag or Home Depot replace the fridge or give me credit for the amount I spent. Maytag is now saying there was not a design flaw and because of that, Home Depot refuses to replace the appliance. I will never buy another Maytag product or shop at Home Depot. The extended warranty is a way to place the responsibility directly on the consumer and eliminating the responsibility of the manufacturer and the store.

We purchased a Maytag French Door Refrigerator with a bottom freezer in 2010. About 6 months ago, we noticed water leaking out the front of the refrigerator. We recently called Maytag service and were told that the refrigerator pan was too small and they would order it and have the independent contractor replace it. The woman I spoke with said that Maytag has been having a lot of complaints about this as the pan put in the refrigerator was too small. In my opinion - an obvious design flaw. The service tech came to our house today with a larger drain...not a pan as I had been told by Maytag (Maytag is the one who ordered the drain to be put in). We ended up paying an unexpected $209 (Pan vs. drainage replacement is a lot more expensive). Needless to say, we are upset for having to pay $209 for a Maytag design flaw as well as not being told upfront what the correct part was that was being ordered. We called Maytag and were told there was nothing they could do because its not on the recall list (yet) and because we didnt buy the extended warranty. We are feeling like suckers and will never buy another Maytag.
