I read the reviews before I bought this washer, went to a major department store to buy it. This way I knew that I could get good support if something happened to it. Its been 3 months, I use the washer everyday. There are 4 adults in my building, they use it daily. I have never had a problem yet, the clothes come out cleaner than the front loader I have. It seems Maytag still makes a good product. I am the first to admit, when you make large number of products you will have some with a defect. But this washer the Centennial by Maytag works great.. Plenty of water in the tub, the clothes come out clean.. Maybe those people having problems need to stop buy at big box home centers. Theyre known for lumber not washers.

I bought a Maytag washing machine, model number MHW6630HW2 in January 2021. It works fine on ordinary loads, but it cannot spin the water out of bulky items, not on any setting. I put my machine-washable winter coat in the washer and it left it full of water. I re-tried on 4 different settings, and though the washer spins, it cant spin out the water. I went to the Maytag support site. The sites said my model doesnt exist. The phone number for support does not allow you to get any support other than a service call. The Chat option doesnt give a lot of support either. They said that if I call for a service appointment and the service technician finds that the machine does do a spin cycle, then the appointment is not covered under warranty.

Clothes are never submerged in water. Clothes come out worse than when they went in. Every review and complaint mentioned is dead on! This Bravos XL is a piece of crap. Stay away from lying salesmen from HH Gregg. And stay away from Maytag. Perhaps we should all get together and file a class action lawsuit! And donate all monies, washing machines and dingy clothes to charity!

I purchased a washer/dryer, Maytag from Home Depot Nashville. It was delivered and set up. 02/24/17 the date of purchase, delivered 03/07/17. I have tried in every way to get the washer to wash properly, but to no avail. The water level doesnt cover the clothes, it takes 10 to 15 minutes for the wash to begin its cycle. It doesnt spin the clothes dry enough to put into the dryer. The washer makes all kinds of sounds thats drives you nuts while setting up to not wash your clothes clean. I have contacted Maytag on several occasion about this problem, they sent out someone to service the washer. Now, why would a brand new washer need servicing. Somethings wrong. It isnt functioning up to standards and they should give me another washer. Now on 05/18/17 the washer was serviced, I have called them again to do something about this piece of **. I was told that the only thing they could do is come service it again. Why, must this brand new washer be serviced every week. It doesnt make sense... I dont want this machine, I want my money back so I can purchase a machine that will wash my clothes properly. I purchased a secondhand washer and dryer from a used appliance store, it lasted my family 10 complete year. The only reason I dont have it now is because I wanted to upgrade, since I have never had a brand new set. What a disappointment. Everything that looks good from Maytag isnt good. I dont understand why they wont stand behind their product.Somethings got to be done about this. Maytag will not take my money 1,200 and force me to keep this malfunctioning piece of nothing. Im going to Youtube this product so the consumer can see how this product doesnt work properly, therefore they wont waste their hard earned money. I will be contacting the BBB Nashville, and wherever I need to. I will let the consumer know the make and model of this product and where it was purchased from. Maytag I want every penny back. And, should hold you responsible for ever time I have had to go to the wash house because my brand new set wont work, and your company wants to service it every time I try to wash. I purchased this appliance on the strength of the well known name, that was the wrong thing to do.

Purchase washer and dryer January 26th, had delivered said February 2nd. Had a horrible delivery service, delivery men were very rude and scratched the dryer. Washer never worked correctly, called and had exchange set up for February 9. Washer was delivered on February 9 and again we had a horrible experience with the delivery drivers. They scratched the washer. The owner of the delivery company came to our home making sure everything was correct. Washer worked well for two and a half weeks. Then I noticed the water was slowing down when it was filling. Then this morning the washer completely stopped filling. We called Maytag and they told us we could not get anybody here until next Saturday. They were rude on the phone. We then called Home Depot where we purchased it and said we want to return the washer and dryer. They said we cannot return it. We are stuck with it. Now weve been arguing with Home Depot and Maytag all morning trying to get someone to my home to get the washer fixed. This set cost $1,400 and Maytag is not supporting us on selling us 2 lemon washing machines. We are stuck because we cant return them or exchange them. Home Depot gave us an option to exchange for a lesser model that they have in stock. When you read the reviews for that model the reviews are terrible. I would highly recommend that you do not purchase a Maytag or Whirlpool product. Their company does not stand behind their products or their workmanship. If I had the opportunity I would return these to the store. But it has been over 30 days and I believe that is not an option. Stuck with a lemon. Very sad that customer service is so crappy on an American-made product.

I have a Maytag refrigerator - the kind with the French doors with the freezer in the bottom and then the middle drawer is now leaking water all over my hardwood floors. This is ridiculous. Maytag better get off their butt. They need to send people out or send letters to people that have these freezers to fix them. When you pay a lot for something they should get a good product. If there a recall they should of send out letters or something.

Just had the repairman here. This machine is computerized so it won’t last. It does not have a setting that lets me do any load of laundry the way I need to do it. I have to use heavy duty to do a load and then it takes 2 hours. When I want to do a load of sweaters on delicate it will not put near enough water in the machine to wash them. The normal cycle does not add enough water to wash, let alone rinse the clothes. I can’t choose the size of the load based on how much I need to wash so I have to do more loads at 2 hours each or do everything on bulky. Whoever came up with all this needs to be fired. I am extremely unhappy with this machine and I have loved Maytag for years. No more.

This is about my model MFI2569VEB2 refrigerator. It has French doors with bottom pull-out freezer, refrigerator door ice and filtered water dispenser. The delivery person installed the fridge and took off outside plastic and left inside plastic in. It froze everything until I took out the inside plastic. Within the first year, water started shooting out of the top of the fridge. A rubber connector for the icemaker, which was on top of the fridge, had broken. Within 18 months, it freezes everything in the refrigerator, even on the warmest setting. I have to leave it unplugged each night. The icemaker gets big chunks of ice stuck to it and wont let ice out. On top of all of that, the water from the fridge door pours out extremely slowly, this just how they are built.I will have to fix the thing myself and eat the expenses, so to speak. I bought the Maytag because Samsung had poor reviews. No matter how fancy you want your refrigerator to be, and how nice you want it to look in your kitchen, stick to the basics. The fewer bells and whistles, the more reliable.

I purchased Model #MGR7661XB (Gas Cooktop and Oven) in November 2009. From the very beginning, we realized it was a mistake and looking back, we should have sent it back. The finish, both on the stove as well as the burner racks (the removable grate that the pan sits on when cooking) has some sort of coating that instead of repelling grease and food seems instead to actually attract it. Any hot liquid or grease actually seems to melt into the finish and becomes impossible to remove. Essentially, our stove was ruined within the first week. We have even tried putting a scouring pad on a wooden spoon and scrub with as much force as we can muster - to no effect. Short of using a putty knife, and completely destroying the finish, I cant think of any way to resolve it.As for Self-Cleaning ... yeah, right. Use for entertainment purposes only. It doesnt clean at all.The latest issue is now the oven lights about 20% of the time. The broiler still works and we have discovered that we can trick the stove by allowing the broiler to heat up the stove to about 200 degrees first - then, when the oven is already hot, the oven part will ignite.Speaking of igniting ... from the beginning, this stove has the loudest ignition system I have ever heard. You can hear it ignite click/pop from two rooms away and the oven cycles on/off every 10 min. or so. It is very annoying. All I can say is, never again will I buy another Maytag. This was supposed to be the upgraded sealed burner model (which also is impossible to clean). This stove is only 4 years old but it was a mistake from the beginning. Like I said, I should have returned it after the first week.

Maytag Bravos 300 Electric Dryer - Purchased dryer 2011 and a computer part went out and Maytag wants $418.66 for a computer part. This dryer was used only 6 months a year. Poor attitude about repairing from Maytag and they would not do anything to make us happy with product. A dryer that goes out in 3 years is robbery. Maytag should repair and make customers happy but they just dont care. Anyone who buys a Maytag or Whirlpool product should have their heads examined. I tried to talk sense to Maytag representative but to no avail. I am now going to make sure all of southern Indiana knows of my problem with this product. Seven years ago when we bought a new house, we bought all new appliances, Maytag Washer and Dryer, because they were suppose to be extra good and sturdy, what a joke. For the past four or five years, I have had to replace the lock on the door of the washer, which means Im without a washer for a week. Since no one stocks the parts because it is such a joke, some repair places wont even consider repairing a Neptune. Seems like since the company stopped making them because of the problems they have, as a minimum they should replace all Neptune washers that have been sold with a reliable washer, front loading in the same price range. I will never buy another Maytag product and will be sure to tell everyone I know not to buy them either.

It sounds like an old threshing machine... I have to close the laundry door it is so loud. People cant believe its a new machine. So saving water is the big deal we hear so much about...but water is the main cleaning agent and it hardly covers the clothes even on a full load coverage. Do not use bleach in the machine unless the load contains ONLY WHITES. It just destroyed a new pink top as it spurts out the bleach without any controls. It does not get whites or clothes clean and just twists the clothes to the point everything you wear has to be ironed. There is not one good thing I can say about this pair of appliances except BUYER BEWARE~ I wish I had read the reviews... Buy the old...tried and true.

I related my problems with a Maytag Bravos Washer a few days ago. A year and a half after I purchased the washer, it would no longer spin, among other problems. I was persuaded to call a repairman who diagnosed faulty electronic components which would cost me nearly $400 to repair. He confirmed that the washer was poorly built and strongly advised that I replace it. So, after paying him only $25 for a service call (he felt sorry for me), I did some research and bought a top-load agitator washer because the old-fashioned machines actually do their job - they wash clothes! I was duped by the high-efficiency claims, low-water-usage of the Maytag which didnt wash that well when it did work.

We purchased a Maytag Bravos Quiet 300 about 8 months ago and it will not clean anything. Not one setting will make this machine clean. You have to wash everything 2 to 3 times. There is no savings of any kind with this machine and I dont know anyone who has the time to wash everything multiple times. Its all about the water; its about as much as you can spit. I ran a hose from the faucet and added 8 gallons about 10 minutes into the wash cycle and was able to clean (float) a set of sheets. I find this energy star machine to be worthless and I would have been better buying an old machine at a garage sale than this Bravos machine. Junk. If you cant float your cloths folks, you might as well be rubbing them on a rock.

We bought this washer in February of 2010. We had the pump replaced under warranty in January of 2011, and the pump appeared to have a hole in it from some type of hard object that had gotten inside the pump and damaged it. We then replaced the L-shaped hose between the tank and the pump because it had a small hole in it - very thin rubber. Last week, the washer was leaking again and the service technician said that the pump housing was cracked due to a penny rattling around inside the pump. This washer performs very well when it is working but it seems to be too fragile to handle on normal usage. The Whirlpool washer we replaced with this one ran for 23 years with no problems before it finally went out. From all appearances, it seems that every failure we have had with this washer has been due to damage from foreign objects getting trapped in the pump. Is there no screening mechanism to prevent hard objects from entering the pump? This seems to be a design flaw more than anything.

My Maytag washing machine is rusting out at less than three years! [Photos included]. I have called customer service twice, spoken to two different women and have been told that it is a cosmetic issue [Model MTW2541240; Serial CW2541240 ]. The last e-mail with photos was sent to Gwendolyn **. I indicated that the rust has ruined very expensive sheets, other clothing, towels. It took me a long time to figure out what was causing the spots on the clothes. There is rust on the outside of the machine, the lid and inside the actual drum which holds the water. The machine is a lemon. You have me registered in your system with the date of purchase. My question to you, since when is rust in the inside of a washing machine a cosmetic issue? Are you aware of this issue? Do you as the CEO believe this is what is acceptable for a Maytag washing machine? I firmly suspect this issue is beyond my washer based on my research with various stores and sales people. They are telling me I am not the first with this issue, non-Lowes stores. I purchased the machine at Lowes and because no one at Whirlpool was responsive to him or to Lowes, he is offering to apply the refund to a new Lowes washing machine. I am now in the process of searching my credit card records from Sept-Oct 2008 which is when I bought the machine.I would like not to be restricted to Lowes for another washing machine. I will notify Rick ** (at the Lowes Turtle Creek, Coconut Creek store in Florida, telephone 954 346-3993) of this letter to you so that you and Rick dont think I am trying to obtain a double refund. I just want the full value of the washer back so that I will have a choice in the replacement. The selection at Lowes is limiting. I will upgrade to more of a commercial washer and pay the difference. I wanted you to be made aware of this issue.

Im currently standing in front of my washing machine waiting for the 13-minute drain and spin cycle to finish because once again my load didnt drain and finish right. Except it has already been 40 minutes and it claims there is still 9 more left as it continues to sit there doing nothing while it hasnt even started spinning yet. It Sat on 13 minutes while sensing for over 5 minutes, then 12 for 10 minutes while doing nothing, then it changed to 11 minutes and made some weird noises but didnt actually do anything for 15 minutes, and now the timer randomly changed from 11 to 9 without any noises or movement happening and now continues to sit here.I stupidly thought I could spin my clothes real quick to throw them in the dryer before bed and now I stand here extremely tired and very irritated. I also have no doubt some of the clothes will have holes in them when theyre done because they always do, my family looks like were homeless and ratty half the time we get dressed now. Also it never deep cleans thoroughly even on the toughest settings, I swear our socks can be washed 3 times in a row after being soaked all day and still come out crusty or a lot of times the armpits of shirts will still smell or be ultra stained with deodorant marks still. This technology is almost too advanced and everything is decided by sensor, regardless of the registered functions on the buttons it will still do what it wants as the sensors see fit and run when they decide everything is perfect and ready, including taking 10 minutes just to unlock the lid when you pause a load cuase a small child may drown in the foot of water or a person may have their life completely altered by getting a little bit wet if the machine isnt completely drained and in pristine condition before you open the door. This machine is terrible. This company is terrible. And worst of all they drain your wallet for these horrible contraptions. I wish I could rate this 0 stars.

I called Maytag about the lid and they said there was nothing they can do and that we could buy a new lid replacement. Really??? My parents had only Maytag in their home for over 50 years with little to no repairs needed ever! We were a family of five back then. Because my parents always bought Maytag products so did we. I bought a Maytag Bravo washer with the new stainless tub and the bottom agitator. It also has a clear glass lid. Mistake. I can see the action of the washer thru the glass lid and it definitely doesnt wash the clothes very well. They just stay in the same position and the bottom clothes get agitation but the tops ones just sit there. The towels especially smell musty after they have been washed. Probably because they dont get agitation. The water level is so low that the clothes barely get wet. It was a good idea of the company to save water and electricity. But they must not have thought about getting the clothes clean. If I could I would get rid of this machine but I wouldnt want to subject anyone else to this type of washing machine. I would feel badly selling it knowing that it doesnt get the clothes clean. So I would never suggest getting a Maytag washer with a glass lid because you dont want to see what it is not doing.

I purchased a Maytag dishwasher May 2019 Model# MDB4949SDE3 Serial# F80446835. It has to be one of the worst purchases I have made in a long time. In fact, I wish I could return it and start over with another brand. My glasses come out of the cycle with film and silverware is spotted. I have tried everything from scrubbing and rinsing before I put into the dishwasher, every product on the market, making sure my hot water heater is on high to settings for the longest most powerful cycle and it still continues to disappoint. My warning is DO NOT buy this dishwasher.

We purchased this washer 8 months ago, and still do not have a working unit. From the very beginning of installing the new washer we had repeated F4 and E1 error codes. A technician was sent out three separate times and they replaced the ACU each time only to have the same error codes recur. This unfortunately took 5 months as each time the ACU part was on backorder. After 3 failed attempts they agreed to replace the washer with a new one. We were dumbfounded when the new unit arrived and we had the same F4 and E1 error codes! They have again replaced the ACU and still we have the same error codes! They are sending yet another ACU but we have little confidence this will work and we are at a painful 8 months with no washer.

The Maytag Bravo is a big waste of money. Get a less expensive machine. You will have no problems and save money. This is my experience: SETTINGSYou cannot control the settings completely. Every setting is preset. For example, if you choose the Bulky setting, you cannot choose the water save spray rinse. Those two cannot be selected together. Certain settings can only be selected with certain temperatures. This will however be the least of your problems. WASHINGIt does not get clothes clean. I have had instances of items coming out with still stuff stuck to them, not just stains, but actual solid material stuck to it. My cat threw up in his bed and when I got it out, it still had small pieces of vomit stuck to it. I have always only used the Bulky setting which fills up the whole drum, so there is sufficient water to wash. I cannot imagine what it would be like if I used the Normal setting. Many times I had to wash thing twice. If you use the normal setting, you will get hardly any water. It will be a moist bundle of clothes moving like a big lump. You need water and some degree of friction to eliminate the dirt. SPINNINGIt is constantly stopping, beeping and showing me the UL sign (uneven load). You have to unravel the items and reposition them Around the drum. If you are an old lady like me, this is a real chore because the items are now soaking wet and very heavy. Also, because there is no agitator, the items come out in knots (tied to one another) and you have to separate them. DURABILITYThe lid is loose. It looks like it may be missing a screw on one side. It still locks, but it moves sideways when you close it and open it. BOTTOM LINEThe whole thing is a disaster. Get an old fashion type. It will work better and you can save your money. I honestly think there should be a class action suit against Maytag.

I purchased my oven in May of 2012. Ive tried numerous times to use the clean cycle. There is absolutely no way it works. I contacted Maytag on 1/13/14 and their response was to explain the concept of AquaLift Technology as if I didnt already know that. They said I should use the plastic spatula (as if I had not already done that). They urged me to email whenever the need arises (as if that will do any good, they obviously acted like there was nothing wrong with their AquaLift technology). Someone should hold them accountable for their faulty product. Maytag is now a dirty word in this consumers vocabulary, and no amount of scraping ...with a plastic spatula will clean up the mess they sold me. I hope it breaks so I can go buy a product from a company where self-clean does not mean I am scrubbing (with no success) and running a clean cycle numerous times in an afternoon to try and get a spillover cleaned up.

Do not buy a Maytag Washer. I had a Maytag for 25 yrs with only 1 repair in its 23rd yr. When it finally retired at age 25, we replaced it with another Maytag assuming it would also last long. No chance. We had only 2 good yrs. Now, at 2 yrs old, it is so so loud during the spin cycle that it sounds like an airplane (757) is flying overhead at 50 ft above the roof... No way can we possibly use the washer if anyone in the house is sleeping. Repairs cost more than the initial price of the washer. Please do yourself a huge favor and buy another brand. There are too many complaints about Maytag to even consider purchasing one. Not worth the aggravation!!

I purchased all new appliances and decided to go with Maytag. My Maytag Refrigerator model MFI2569VEM after 12 months, just after the warranty expired, started leaking all over my kitchen floor. I called Maytag and all they told me was there is no recall on this model and there was nothing they could tell me over the phone. I purchased an extended warranty and that is a whole other problem to get someone out. They said to check the freezer problem I need to call when the leak was occurring, so they could see what is happening. So basically, I need to leave water on my kitchen floor so they could see what is happening. Who hires these people?

We purchased a Maytag dryer in Dec 2012 and several days ago the heating unit failed (mid April 2014). I did a quick search on this site and a few others where I saw numerous such issues with Maytag dryers. I realized that I was 4 months beyond the warranty period but took a shot at calling their customer service line to voice my displeasure only to get the company line that they could do nothing. My wife and I have been married 27 years this year and this was the 4th dryer we have purchased (1st and last Maytag) which obviously did not last like the other brands or like we expected. I definitely do not recommend this brand!

I bought this Maytag French door model MFF2258VEW2 in 2010. Within the first year, it was freezing my vegetables. They sent someone out to fix it. Thank goodness it was under warranty. The man laid the bill down and it was over $800 to fix it. Six months later, it froze up. I called and they said they would send someone out, but I would have to pay for it. Im on disability and cant pay that kind of money. I got someone to come out and fix it. Well, guess what? It has started freezing my vegetables again. This is the third time this thing has gone bad. What do these people think they are doing putting things out like this? I had a Maytag for 30 years and never had any problem with it. So I saved and saved to get me a new one but I will never buy another Maytag. The company should have to replace all the refrigerators that are like this one.

Its an old story with Maytag. We purchased a refrigerator in Nov 2012. Three days ago we noticed the refrigerator was making a constant buzzing sound and that the freezer was not cold. A repairman confirmed our suspicions. Bad compressor! Cost to repair, $729. And, the warranty on the new compressor was only 90 days. Cost for a new one $1700. Contacted Maytag. We do offer extended warranties (up to 10 years on compressors) on some models, but not yours. So, we will get a new one but with the extended warranty. It wont be a Maytag.

I didnt want something from Sears due to horrible experiences with them. Maytag is very reliable and the cost was reasonable. They fit in the small space available for washer and dryer. They have all the features I need. The only complaint I have about the dryer is that for some reason if the load is small, it takes longer to dry than with a full load. I have had them for about 5 years now. I expect a washer and dryer to work correctly every time. If its poor construction I would not buy it. I also expect an appliance to last many years with proper maintenance.

We had a house built in 2007 and bought all new Maytag appliances - washer, dryer, oven/range, dishwasher, refrigerator and microwave. Consequently, we spent many thousands of $ and Maytag made much money from our purchases. In the 7.5 years since we have been using these appliances, the dishwasher already had to be replaced, as fixing it would have cost just as much as buying a new one. But its the range that I am so angry about. I have replaced the igniter 3 times since 2007, and last night, it went out again. I have spent $494 so far to keep replacing the igniter and once I make the service call to replace it AGAIN, it means I will have spent approx. $700 to keep fixing an appliance that is only 7.5 years old. Maytag says the warranty on the appliance is only for 1 year and will not budge on giving me a break on cost of parts and/or service. I will NEVER AGAIN purchase anything Maytag or recommend Maytag to anyone.

Purchased Maytag washer Centennial Econoserve washer. It was 2 years old Aug 2013. Washer stopped working Sept 16, 2013. Of course since it had Maytag name brand, I did not purchase extended warranty due to thinking it would at least last more than several years. I called Maytag/Whirlpool. They gave me name of authorized repair in our area. So far they have come out 2 times. $560.00 later, it is still not working and they have no answer as to how or what to do. We are now into $1300.00 between purchase and repairs and still no washer. We are retired hard working people and this is really a bad way to treat consumers. Maytag customer service could care less about the situation. They just say we should have purchased extended warranty.

I purchased a Maytag dishwasher on Nov. 5, 2013 from Freds Appliance. I had to have the control panel fixed twice and it failed again in June 1916. My stemware had a film on it and I either had to wash it by hand or rinse it in hot water and dry by hand. Thus I felt like how could my other dishes not have this film on them even though I faithfully used Finish. I have 2 daughters who live within a half mile of me and they did not have this trouble with their dishwashers. I always felt Maytag was a top brand, but I replaced my 3 year old Maytag with a Whirlpool that my daughter and her family of 4 used for 19 years. Guess what... my glasses come out sparkling without using Finish and they wash in half the time and are dry!

The machine has left pin-sized holes in finer clothing since we first used it. I had purchased the extended warranty so they were called out to repair the issue four times during the warranty. They replaced the drum, but I still get holes. I think it is because there isnt enough water to rotate the clothing and it rubs repeatedly against the same spot on the other clothing. I have a see-through lid and you can see that the clothing just moves very slightly in the same position. I separate all clothing that has a zipper or any trim that may rub against the finer fabrics, but I am still getting pin-sized holes. We requested compensation or a new machine. They extended the warranty. We have replaced enough clothing that we are now buying a new machine. It will NOT be a Maytag.

This washer is the worst piece of junk I have ever purchased. From day 1 it never cleaned my clothing. It was too much money to call a repairman so I have lived with it since October 13, 2013 and I have finally been able to buy a new washer this week. My husband would come home from work and ask me why I put dirty clothing in his drawers, he said his clothes stunk and were stained. This washer just did not clean the clothing. It didnt use water. I cannot say how many times I would open it after washing a load and the clothes were dry. It saved water alright, it didnt use any and it was installed properly. If you are going to purchase a Maytag Centennial, run. Dont walk. Run, fly, look the other way, just dont buy this HUNK OF JUNK! I cant even sell it, so we will sell it on eBay for parts just to recoup some of our hard earned money! MAYTAG YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF!

Thinking that the Neptune fiasco was over, I happily bought into the sick company and got burnt 3 times for all 3 purchases. The Gemini range with dual ovens: the controller clock with all relays and electronic package is dying, leaving me with no ovens, or slow heating and an alarm in the middle of the night. Now, even the burners are not working properly. Junk at any price, and I paid $2,400. Not 5 years old and repaired several times under warranty; all were electrical failures. The fridge is another failure. Apparently the Freon is leaking out. It is unrepairable and it was typical of these from what the service guy said, not 5 years old. It was repaired once, leaking on floor. Apparently, it was a kinked drain hose. The dishwasher was one year old and it caught fire when the dial was turned while the machine was running. The 4th machine, an over the range microwave, is still running… although from day one it sucks so much power on the dedicated line that it dims the lights in the microwave as it starts up and each time, the magnetron energizes. I am just waiting for it to fail too. Can you say never and mean it? There was no goodwill offered. “So sad” and “too bad” is the common line. Nothing will last more than 5 years if you listen to sales people at Maytag - junk. There was no help from the corporate office. Nothing I can do for you. Junk, junk, junk.

My husband purchased the Bravos XL washing machine less than a year ago at Bensons Maytag in Peoria, Illinois. Within months of purchase we noticed our clothing coming out with stains they didnt have prior to washing. After hundreds of $$s of clothing ruined we realized it was due to the fabric softener dispenser. We cleaned the machine multiple times & ceased using fabric softener. No luck.Today I finally had enough & called Bensons service department. The fellow I spoke with told me, You are not supposed to use fabric softener with the Bravos XL. I asked why a $1000 washing machine would have a dispenser you were supposed to use. He told me it was because people like to use it BUT you werent supposed to use it. I asked, Why would there be a dispenser if you werent supposed to use it. He told me the salesperson should have explained it during the transaction or I should have read the owners manual more thoroughly. I asked how I needed to go about correcting the problem & he told me to clean out the machine with really, really hot water. I explained we had multiple times. He didnt have any other suggestions so I asked about setting up a service call & requested he access my information so we could verify the warranty. He confirmed the unit was under warranty. I asked to schedule service & was told there would be a $50 service call fee. I told him, I would figure that would be under warranty to which he explained it would only be under warranty if it was the machine ruining my clothes. I asked, What other reason would there be for my ruined clothes and he told me if the laundry was being ruined because I used fabric softener it would not be under warranty. So I repeated that saying So you are telling me if the machine is ruining my clothing because I used fabric softener it will not be under warranty? and he got flustered and basically said he didnt exactly say that and they couldnt confirm anything until a tech took a look at the machine. I told him I would have to speak to my husband. So this is my question... why on Earth do we have a company building $1000 washing machines WITH A FABRIC SOFTENER DISPENSER if you are not supposed to use it? I have never, ever, EVER had a washing machine do such a lousy job. I have never, ever, EVER been afraid to put clothing in a washing machine... not even in a cheap, crappy laundromat. Shame on you, Maytag!

I HATE this washer. It had such good reviews before I bought it, but I have never been so disappointed. Doesnt use NEARLY enough water to get anything clean, even when I try deep water wash, bedding, or power wash. You cant switch modes in the middle of a load, and if you leave it paused too long, it drains on you. Ive tried balling everything up as the manufacturer advised. Purchased refrigerator model # MFT2976AEMOO September 2013. First repair was 1 month after purchase. From compressor to moisture build up inside fridge. 7 repairs in the first year. Customer service disgusting. They simply dont care, and do not back their products. Work time lost waiting at home for repairs. Service men come and always have to order parts, which means 2 service calls for each problem. Our service man broke one of the drawers when removing it to do a repair which meant another visit for that replacement part. Continued to have more problems when warranty was done. Purchased a Maytag MSD2553WEW00 refrigerator on 2/27/2011 from Home Depot. Began using it in July 2012 upon completion of home construction. In February 2014, after less than two years of service, the refrigerator was running but no longer cooling. After the expense of several part replacements and a service call, it was determined that the compressor had failed. Unlike most manufacturers, Maytag did not warrant the compressor and closed system beyond 12 months. After everything posted here why would anyone take a chance buying any Whirlpool product including all subsidiaries. I made the mistake of buying a Maytag washer and dryer less than 3 yrs ago. There are only 2 people in the household and we only wash linens, towels and undergarments- the rest goes for dry cleaning. The washer stopped filling with water, similar to what was posted by another customer. Maytag customer service was 2 weeks out. When the service tech arrived he diagnosed the problem as a faulty water value but didn’t have the part- another week. I asked the tech why it takes 2 weeks to get someone out for a service call- he told me that there were 4 techs working the area but 2 quit and they were never replaced. The tech went on to say that he was leaving because of the misdirected grief he gets from customers because “the Whirlpool brand is crap”, it takes to long to get service and usually the cost is more than the appliance is worth- and they take it out on him. That is not hard to understand.Bottom line- IF THE SERVICE TECH IS TELLING YOU THE BRAND IS “CRAP” what else do you need to know. FYI- Maytag repairman quoted a new water valve at $70, labor $150 for a total of $230. I paid $600 for the machine- is this a joke? The exact same part was available on Amazon for $43 and was delivered in a day. With the help of a YouTube video I replaced the part in 10mins. On top of the fact that the appliance is crap, it would have taken 3 weeks to get fixed- Maytag is also screwing customers with overpriced parts that shouldn’t have to be replaced in the first place- fair warning, STAY AWAY.

Thanks for the other reviews about the control panel problems... I too have the same issue with the short circuit. My Maytag dishwasher mdb7749sam1 was installed in January 2013. I spent an hour on the phone and the chat... HERES THE SOLUTION: When I told them the machine started in the middle of the night on its own, it became a safety issue. I have all the same problems as everyone else, flashing lights, the washer does not properly respond to the input from the control panel... I was told that even though it was out of warranty, as a gesture of goodwill Maytag is sending out an authorized repair service to fix whatever is wrong at no cost to me at all... Tells me that there really is an underlying issue. Anyway best of luck to anyone else in the same boat. I rated them as a 3 - not happy that this machine failed and I wont buy another, but they seemed to jump on fixing it...

The Maytag Bravos washing machine (Model No. MVWB75OWQ1 Type 580) is the worst Ive ever owned. The low water level obviously is not sufficient to clean the clothes as the clothes come out still dirty. I pre-treat stains carefully and follow all of the directions and 9 times out of 10, my clothes come out with the stain still there. The clothes never smell clean. In fact, they have an odor. My t-shirts still have a smell of BO under the arms and some of my clothes still smell like my perfume. They just arent clean. I feel like we put our dirty clothes in this machine and they agitate around in a little pool of water for an hour and they come out still dirty. The machine frequently gets off balance and shuts down too. If I had the money to trash this one and go buy another one - Id do it in a heartbeat. Unfortunately - Im stuck with this piece of junk until I can afford to buy a new one. This was a total waste of money and Maytag should be ashamed that they have not recalled it and given its customers a replacement option.

And then in May of 2012, it failed with error code F51, catastrophic failure. The machine was not even four years old. I called a certified Maytag repairman. In less than 5 minutes, he told me the cost to repair would be about $900, and then he charged $115 for the service call! A call to Maytag resulted in Im sorry, there is nothing we can do.

At first the Maytag Bravos XL top load washing machine met all me expectations. After 3 yrs. the top where you load bleach and fabric softener began to rust. This is not covered under warranty. My last washer was a Whirlpool and had it 15 year and never had that issue. So it cant be from the water, just poor workmanship. Very disappointed. Now my lid came loose and is ready to fall off. Would not recommend.

I purchased a Neptune front-load washer in November 2005. Now that its out of warranty, theres nothing that Whirlpool can do for me. The front panel of the washer that surrounds the door has been rattling for a few weeks, so my husband took it off and found a crack on the top right section of the panel where its bolted to the frame. There is a rust bubble where the crack started. We couldnt see any of this until he took it apart. The cost of a new front panel is $185 and the response from Whirlpool? They are “very sorry” that this has happened, but there is nothing that they can do. Oh, really? Well, I come from a long line of Maytag owners and there is something I can do: spread the word about the disgusting piece of junk I paid $1,100 for! This washer wasnt even made here - it was made in Korea and its not worth $100! Note to Whirlpool: your customer service sucks!

I purchased a Maytag Bravos XL at the end of June 2013 because my washer of 14 years finally quit. On the 2nd load of laundry I ran, the machine began making a terrible grinding noise. It sounds as if I am washing a load of rocks while its on the wash cycle. I immediately called the local store I purchased it from and they sent a technician out to look at the machine. He couldnt figure out why it was making this noise, so he called Maytags techs for assistance. They had him run a battery of tests and they finally determined they needed to replace the motor. Are you kidding me? On a brand new machine?! Now Im thinking I have a lemon for sure. They replaced the motor and the machine continues to make the same noise. Ive called Maytags Customer Service to let them know about the garbage theyre producing and all I got was attitude. The warranty only covers parts and does not replace machines, so Im stuck in the song and dance of lets try to figure this out and see how they can make this piece of junk work. I then asked to speak to a manager. She offered me a 6 month extended warranty for free. I guess thats a big sign that Im going to need it since what they are producing is garbage. Whatever happened to customer satisfaction? Its now just the too bad attitude. Now, I feel like Im being held hostage by my machine because I have to take time off of work for appointments with service technicians. Wheres Maytags compensation for my time and the hassle of having to deal with this? I paid $1000 for something and I guess its too much to ask for it to actually work. I am all for buying American (the machine had a sticker, proudly made in Ohio) but if this is the quality of work that they are producing they should be embarrassed to work for this company. I will never buy a Maytag again and am making it my mission to warn others of my expensive mistake!

I have not found one feature that impresses me. Clothes do not always get clean (folds of debris). They do not spin dry enough. The cycle choices are ridiculously complicated. You cant add any clothes once the load has started. You have to wash the machine on a regular basis at about $3 per month. To get more water in the machine, you have to elect the Bulky cycle. Small amounts of bleach is so concentrated that clothing elastic is deteriorating and small holes may appear. The clothing most often comes out of the machine like twisted up tangled donuts. The cycles take about an hour and no longer match up to the dryer time - more trips up and down per load. The cycle guide is way too complicated - Normal Heavy, Heavy Duty Regular - whats the difference? Two service calls tell me there is nothing wrong with the machine - get used to it. I would much prefer the old agitator machine.

I purchased a Maytag refrigerator from a local business (Decker and Sons in Grand Rapids, Michigan). The fridge is a French door style with the freezer on the bottom and a water dispenser/ice maker in the left door. In the 19 months weve owned the unit weve had to have service three times. One time for the freezer door not shutting correctly, and two times because the refrigerator portion quit cooling (freezer was fine). Both times it was due to something breaking that defrosts the area behind the vegetable drawers. Both times all of our food went bad. Second time it took almost two weeks to fix (Diamond was the repair service). Now, after the service, the left door doesnt shut correctly. The quality of the unit is so questionable that I hesitate to fill it back up with food. Its just plain old junk. Luckily, we purchased a five year warranty when we purchased it...but we thought the service would be performed by the shop where we bought it, but its farmed out to other repair providers.

I purchased this machine 6 months ago - have called 2 repair people. Thank God I purchased at Sears with extended warranty, was just replaced. I would tell you if you are looking for a machine run away from this one. It tears clothes, have to wash everything on bulk wash or I would not get enough water to say how bad this washer is. If someone called me and said I won this washer, I would say no thank you. And if I had to say Maytag repair called them, said she not getting enough water. Now this is what they told him: thats how we designed it. Forget about big drum, you cant put blankets or any larger items, goes off balance. And I have to say, if I had the money, I would put to the road and go back to wringer type. So again, do not make my mistake. Do not buy this washer and let me say the second day I made a complaint, was told it take time to get adjusted...NOT. I give this washer a 0.

Repairman out twice... replaced computer board and still have problems. The machine was made in Canada according to the label. Hey Canada, what is going on making junk? Too bad that we did not know beforehand what junk the Maytag brand has become. Lowes should not sell this junk to help its reputation and valued customers.

Maytag washer Purchased December 2016. Washer is very slow: runs 1 hour plus. Wash takes a VERY long time. Small load only. Heavy loads go to Laundromat. Maytag does not clean clothes, always MUSTY smelling. Cycle OFTEN does not drain tub And forced to use Drain, Spin cycle to drain tub. Wrinkle cycle ties clothes in knots. Using AFRESH to clean tub makes no difference in foul odor. One service call, error codes found, computer reset. Repairman said that the MACHINE WORKS AS DESIGNED. Repairman said that any tiny bit of debris can cause washer to clog and fail to drain. At best clothes always wet, slow to dry. My old Whirlpool washed any sized load. Clothes always clean and fresh. I used laundry only when we had power outage. LIKELY WILL PUT THIS ON THE CURB. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS MACHINE.

Maytag washer manufacture changes are not worth a dime. I suspect EPA made the changes, and engineering was made by someone that has never washed a load of clothes in the entire life. There is no agitator and/or supposedly made to conserve water. Well, it saves water alright with each load. There will be a 2 foot circle in the middle of a bed sheet that doesnt get wet; the same with a sweaters. I have checked with different stores and all made the same. And heaven forbid if you dropped a sock and wanted to add it to the load with the mate. The lid locks. I am both angry and dissatisfied and will tell this same story to anyone wanting to purchase a washing machine.

We purchased a Maytag Bravo Washer and Dryer in late 2007. We had a one-year warranty on the set. At just over 2 years, we started having problems with the washer. It started making a loud noise when spinning and started beeping all the time during the cycles. We contacted Maytag and they said the only thing they could do for us was to sell us an extended/repair warranty for $320.00. If the cost of fixing the machine was too much, they had the option to replace it with another machine equal to the value of the machine in todays market, or cash, or a gift card equal to that.We were angry about the cost of the warranty and we were unemployed at the time and couldnt afford that so we just had to let it go. The machine progressively got worse where only two of the cycles would work, but not without beeping several times where you had to fix the load, and the sound got so loud it sounded like you had a jet plane just overhead. Just the other day it completely quit working. We have been in contact with Maytag several times but their only answer is their repair warranty. Weve talked to numerous appliance repairman, who all knew exactly what was wrong because they have seen it so many times, and they told us that we have several things going wrong with the machine we would probably need a new drum, a new drain pump and a new control board. We were told that it would cost more to just buy the parts than it would be to buy a new machine. In the course of our phone calls to Maytag, they have continually told us that they are sorry but there is nothing they can do, in fact they only have record of two of our calls (how convenient!). Since experiencing the issues with the machine, we have researched it online and found that scores of consumers are dealing with the exact same problems we are having which shows that there are defects in the manufacturing of these machines. Maytag should be forced to fix these problems. They are well aware of them and they should have to back up their products. There should be a class action lawsuit out against them. We were told by an appliance repairman that Whirlpool (who bought out Maytag) has a washer called Cabrio that is the exact same model as the Bravo and that they do have a class action lawsuit out against this model. Consumers that purchased the Bravo should be included in that lawsuit. I am stuck with a broken down washer, mildewing clothes and dont know where to turn outside of paying out the money for the extended warranty with no guarantee of what we would get out of it, purchasing a used set with no guarantee, or putting out the expense for a new set. This set was an expense set and we went with Maytag because they used to have a good reputation, but we feel like we have been totally cheated. If the appliance companies were forced to offer a longer warranty on their products, they would have to manufacture them at a higher standard. For the cost of these new machines this is exactly what we as consumers should expect. Please help us to know which direction to go. Even with purchasing a new machine we are apprehensive!

We purchased the Bravos X set (Model Number: MEDX700XW0 and Model Number: MVWX700XW2) form Lowes in October 2012. When the items arrived and we used the dryer for the first time in the delicate setting, the machine kept cutting off! So, Lowes brought us a new one. At first it worked but then the delicate cycle on that machine ended up not working as well a few months later. I ignored it and used the other settings. Yesterday, the washer broke. The entire basket detached! We were washing a small blanket and sheet set and kept hearing a loud banging sound. I went to check and the clothes were soaked and the entire drum was detached. I am so friggin angry! We spent over 1200 for this set and less than 3 years later, the set is ruined. I am on the phone with Maytag now b/c they need to replace this set or give us an upgraded set. They know that this set had issues yet they decided to still market and sell it. I want to sue!

I bought a every expensive Maytag Neptune (washer and dryer one unit) and it is now sitting in the carport. The washer broke and I had to have service people come to my house continuously. Over a period of 6 months I had to pay for 3 motor control boards plus service calls. Thats when I had I moved to the carport. In 2012 I bought a Whirlpool Duet washer and dryer so I would be able to stack them. I had to put them at Sears because I had to use layaway. I paid for them over 12 weeks and had to use a laundromat during that time. Last week I got a F01 E02 error code which means replace motor control board. These boards cost over $300 each not counting the cost to install it.I did talk to Sears since the washer was only bought 4 years ago. They were nice to me but could do anything for me. We had a $1700 French Door refrigerator delivered in January, the ice maker worked for 4 days. 4 service calls by 2 different companies and still not making ice. After fighting tooth and nail, we finally got a new fridge.. upon installation the water in the door spewed everywhere and would not shut off, so yet another new fridge was ordered and delivered last Friday. So, after countless hours, missed worked wages and having strangers in and out of our home 7 times, they offered us a lousy $50 prepaid gift card for our trouble. After a little long drawn out fight, they increased it to $130 and said that was their maximum compensation: Shame on you Maytag, that values our time and hourly wage at about $1.00 an hour. I have a Maytag washing machine (MDBTT53AWW1). The total cost is $524 for machine plus installation. And the cost of yearly repair on this machine is $300.I purchased this machine a year and 10 months ago in January 2010. A few months ago, the control panel started to only light up partially but the washing machine continued to run. A few days ago, when i tried to turn on the machine, it would not work--the control panel was no longer lighting up. I called a repair man recommended by Lowes, and after explaining the problem over the phone, we scheduled a time for him to come (ten days later was his first available opening!).Ten days later with a broken washing machine and doing all the washing by hand, the repair man came late. When I made the appointment, I was told he would come anytime from 8 to 11 a.m., and of course, he did not show up until almost 1:00 pm. When he finally arrived, all he did was look at the model and determined instantly that the reason our control panel was no longer working was due to a faulty design. This dishwasher allows the steam to escape through a small vent placed to the left of the control panel. The steam inevitably causes a short circuit, meaning that this will be a reoccurring problem every year.He did not dismantle anything and was in my home for no more than 5 minutes. I was told the cost of a new control panel would be $141 plus his labor fee of $137. So all in all, if you purchase a Maytag appliance, the initial cost is irrelevant. If you purchase a Maytag appliance, you will spend almost $300 yearly to maintain it--basically the cost of a brand-new washing machine.Something needs to be done; this is unacceptable. The least Maytag could do is provide all of us, fools who believed in their product and thought that they were of quality, with a free10-year warranty for this faulty machine which is pre-determined to break down every year as a result of their poor design planning.Cost aside, what kind of world are we living in that major appliances are made to last just one year and then are to be thrown in the dump? There is no way I will pay $300 for the next ten years to maintain a product that is made to break. That is wasteful and disastrous for the environment. Shame on you, Maytag. You will be filling landfills around the country with your terrible products, and the world will be a worse place for it.

I purchased the gas stove in June of 2012 from Home Depot, along with a Maytag microwave (Model MGR7662WB4). Home Depot installed both items. After trying to reach into the microwave about the stove, the knob would turn itself on with me brushing up against it. This happened several times, and one time the flame shot up and I almost got burned. The last time it happened, I did not realize that the knob was turned very slightly and gas was coming out of the burner for several hours. If it were not for a friend stopping over, I would not have considered the odor being from the stove. I assumed that the drains were probably backed up and started to add cleaners to the toilet bowls. I had to open the windows for several hours to get the smell out. So I called customer service 2 times. The first person said I would have to pay for the call if the problem was not Maytag and I said, “Forget it.” Then I went into Home Depot and the salesperson in there gave me another number to call for service. They came last Friday and said that he had seen at least 10-15 calls about this and since the unit was working as designed and no recalls, there was nothing they could do. “Just wait and see if a recall would be put into place and I would be on the list to fix it. In the meantime just keep the knobs off (which I was doing already out of fear).” My sister just bought a Whirlpool gas range this summer as well and asked if I could try her knob and it worked perfectly. Again I called CS and was told they could not send me those at no charge and that it would cancel out the warranty. So I asked her what I have to do before I or someone else gets injured and she said that until there was a recall, there was nothing they could do. I told her I was going to contact Consumer Report as well as Pam Zekman on Channel 2 news in Chicago. End of story; I still have the problem and no knobs on the new stove. Anything you can do to help please contact me, and thank you in advance.

I purchased my Bravos washer and dryer in about July of 2012. So far I have no complaints about the dryer but I hate the washing machine as do two friends of mine. My husband specifically wanted something energy efficient which is why we didnt purchase the basic traditional style washer weve always used. From the first time I used the washer, I was amazed and disappointed at the noise level. Because the lid is glass, I could observe the water level during each part of the laundry cycle. The water did not cover the laundry in the washer. When I mentioned this to one of my friends, she said that she has to wash some of her clothes twice. How is this energy efficient? I finally figured out that using the heavy duty wash cycle and heavy soil setting usually results in more water but requires an hour to wash and rinse the clothes. The downside is that the heavy duty cycle is too hard on some of my more delicate items so I have to hand wash many more clothes than I did with my old style washer that allowed me to select the water level I wanted. Most recently, when I washed a bulky mattress pad with a few other items, the water level never covered the pad because the load of laundry was so lightweight. At the end of the cycle, parts of the mattress pad were bone dry so I will have to take it to the laundromat if I cannot make the washing machine fill up with water high enough to cover the mattress pad. I dont want to spend the amount of time hand washing so much of my clothing, monitoring the water level in the washing machine and rewashing loads of laundry. After reading many of these comments, it appears that I have many more issues to look forward to. When this washer starts to break down, I will go back to an old style machine and a different brand.

Now, we refused to have a repairman come and charge us lots of money to fix a washer that should not be broken.
