Ice maker stopped making ice within first month. Repair man came out next day. Said ice maker only makes 7 cubes at a time 8 times a day. REALLY? A $2000 refrigerator only makes 50 ice cubes a day??? Why would I need a refrigerator that size if there was only one of me? Obviously, Ill be keeping a bag of ice nearby.

I have a Maytag washer that I bought new in 1995! It is still washing my clothes like a champ. It must be true - the Maytag repairman is a lonely soul, in all these years I have never had to call him!

I had a warranty that I bought over a year ago. The dishwasher since then has been a monster beyond control. I called Maytag and the woman asked how long it has been acting up. I said about a year, but I was not sure. They refused to honor my warranty because they said it would only go into effect 60 days after I purchased it. They are translating about a year as an absolute and refused to honor the warranty. I would never ever buy a Maytag product again. Never. I will contact every person I know not to buy such a faulty product.

I have had my washer and dryer for more than 5 years. As normal, over time, stuff wears out and parts need to be replaced. The manual doesnt list part numbers that are needed. The website doesnt pull up part numbers when you type in the model number. After paying for overnight shipping that isnt guaranteed (and was more than the part itself), it didnt show up until a couple of days later and it was the wrong part. I would have to pay for shipping costs of the return, now tripling the cost of the actual part. Calls to customer service were not at all helpful as all they could say was that I would have to pay for the return shipping and they were sorry there was nothing they could do. I wont be purchasing anything from Maytag ever again.

I can see by the comments on this page that the letter I sent to Whirlpool was in vain. I purchased a Maytag double oven gas range (MGT8775XW00) from our local Lowes. We were remodeling a home we had purchased. Unfortunately (as anyone whos been involved in home remodeling/renovation knows well), it took much longer than I thought it would before range could be installed. It was several months later before it was installed. First time I tried to use the top oven, it would heat to set temp (I assume) and then shut down. The larger bottom oven had erratic heating. I tried adjusting oven temps but it was a guessing game. We had Fix-Rite Corp out twice and they were puzzled by the problem. Two times, they replaced the control panel. After the second repair, it was decided the only thing to fix the kitchen was a complete gutting, new cabinets and floor. The oven was pulled out before I had a chance to use it again. By the time we got the kitchen finished and range reinstalled, I discovered the oven still had the same problems and the broiler would ignite sometimes and when it did, the flame would go out after 30 to 60 seconds and would not come back on. By this time, we were past the one-year warranty. After the first repair did not work, I tried to get Lowes to take it back and assured them I would purchase another range from them. They said they could not do that. Now I can see Im going to end up buying another range. Be assured it wont be Maytag and it wont be Lowes. I also own and use Maytag washer and dryer.

I bought a refrigerator from Home Depot in July 2013. In late November 2014, I noticed water on the floor in front of the fridge. I called the Maytag customer service and reported the problem.. The customer service rep explained to me that Maytag discovered a design flaw in the part that allows the water to drain when going through the defrost cycle. I also called Home Depot. Their response was it was my problem because the fridge was out of warranty and I did not buy an extended warranty plan. After two more calls to Maytag, they scheduled a service appointment. The service repairman told me the same thing about the design flaw. I have the old part and the package the new part was in. The two parts are completely different. I requested that Maytag or Home Depot replace the fridge or give me credit for the amount I spent. Maytag is now saying there was not a design flaw and because of that, Home Depot refuses to replace the appliance. I will never buy another Maytag product or shop at Home Depot. The extended warranty is a way to place the responsibility directly on the consumer and eliminating the responsibility of the manufacturer and the store.

After only 4 years, this washer stopped spinning. Called Maytag support (Ha! the ads show the Maytag repairman sitting by a non-ringing phone) I had to wait 20 mins to get through. Only after paying for a service call would they be able to determine if this problem was motor-related. In reading reviews (which in hindsight I wish I would have done prior to purchasing) this is a common problem and is related to bearings going bad. Pay for service call vs buying a non-Maytag product -- will set this out by the curb and buy a different brand.

Faulty control board. Have owned a Maytag dishwasher model MDB6769PASI for 2.5 years. The unit started beeping at random times for about a week - then went dead! Sounds like other reported failures and it is unlikely repairs will be permanent! Never again Maytag.

I owned an front loading Maytag Neptune Front Load Washer MAH5500 for more than 10 years and first 5 yrs doing 2-3 loads a day for a family of 12 so this machine held up well, and only issue we had with the machine was the rubber around outside needed to be replaced after about 9 yrs.

We purchased all Maytag home appliances when our home was remodeled about five years ago. After the first year, the microwave had to be replaced because it malfunctioned. The dishwasher stopped working in the third year, and now, my refrigerator (model# mf12568AEB) wont cool. The technician told me that all of the Freon had leaked out because of a design flaw. Moisture had gotten into the compressor, and with the cost of repair or replacing the compressor, I would probably be better off buying a new refrigerator, preferably not a Maytag.

The control panel went bad on our Maytag dishwasher of only 4 years that is only run about once a week, A replacement part would cost more than half of what the dishwasher originally cost, so we have decided to go with a KitchenAid. Not pleased at all with the longevity of the Maytag.

I bought a Maytag washer about 4 months ago and the dryer the washing machine has went down a couple of times but I managed to get it to start again. This time it will not start back up. It just as a little water and stuff and will not lock and wash. It never gets the clothes clean and you have to wash them twice or at least a residue on the clothing. I hate this washer and Im very saddened that Maytag will not come out - told me that they had to find someone. There was no one in the area that could fix my washer. It has been nearly a week now and no response from them. Im going to have to buy another washer. I am so upset to spend nearly 800 some dollars on a brand new washing machine and it does not work. I think that was all the complaints that I have seen on this page so somebody needs to put them on the news and also someone needs to start a lawsuit against this company. Shame on you Maytag. Very unhappy with your product and you.

Fifteen months after purchase of the top load washer, we have had to call in repair. The lid lock and sensor have went out on the machine and the repair costs are equal to the purchase of the machine. Whether the consumer has an extended warranty or not, this is unreasonable. So hear this Maytag, the CONSUMERS will invest elsewhere when delivered cheap merchandise like this even if it is Made in the USA as you wish to tout in order to bait the consumer for their money instead of providing superior quality American products. This consumer is sending this machine out the door.

I bought my Maytag dishwasher MDB7749SBM0 three years ago. After it was in one month it already needed a service call. It needed a control panel. Out of the dishwasher 4 weeks because this happened over Thanksgiving. Two months later it stopped working and needed another service call. Technician was inexperienced and another one had to be called. Out of the dishwasher 3 weeks. At this time, and because of the expense of the machine, I purchased an extended warranty. This was control panel number two. Not long after, the heating element had to be replaced. Two weeks without the dishwasher. Now, my dishwasher stopped working again and it needs a new control panel. The technician is rude but did offer the information that the moisture ruins the control panels. IT IS A DISHWASHER!!! IT USES WATER!!! I only run the dishwasher twice per week so I cant imagine how poorly it would hold up if it was run more often. I am on my third week without the dishwasher because the part is on back-order! No one can tell us when it will be in. I bought a Maytag because I thought they had the appliance market under control. MY MISTAKE! I am very angry.

Purchased this Maytag microwave brand new on April 2017. In January 2019 began to have issues with the display reading open/close door. Maytag would send a repairman for $160 to take a look at the problem. Parts of course are extra. I will never buy a Maytag product again.

Have used for several years, no problems. Not even with ice maker. The black color is good and matches other appliances. I like the pull out drawer for freezer items. However, the filter is very hard to change but other than that everything ok.

I bought a Maytag dishwasher (model #MDBH979AWS3) from Home Depot on July 2010 and had it installed. After 2 weeks, I found water leaking into the basement. The installer said rubber gasket in water line de-laminated and caused leak under the dishwasher and flooded the floor to basement. Product defect and water damage covered by Maytag insurance. Now Feb 2012, about 1 1/2 years after buying, the touch panel controls dont work. I called Maytag regarding any control panel recall and they said no and its out of warranty. The advice given was that they can send out a serviceman for $269 to fix with parts, labor and one year warranty. It seems like planned obsolescence. Dont buy a Maytag.

This is a top load washer, commercial series, high efficiency without any agitator. It doesnt use enough water to break down the soap, no matter what soap or amount is used. Clothes come out of the machine with soap patches. It is also virtually impossible to balance the load so when it spins, it bangs and thumps and walks across the room until it shuts itself down. Stirring and re-distributing the load, changing the size of the load, small or large (should you actually fill the tub to a full load per instructions) it simply doesnt distribute or balance itself at all. At the end of the day, clothes need more water for extra rinse and then doesnt seem to work with soap removal all of the time. You cant put a load in and walk away and do something else or it will bang around and turn off. A waste of money and time. Save yourself, buy something else.

The stovetop is very hard to clean and gets stained easily. The heat works wonderfully and the burners are great sizes. The left side with the adjoining burners is great. The double oven is fantastic. Heats relatively fast. Another negative is the button controls. You have to push so hard for it to register. Its painful. Not the best way to do it. Just setting oven temperature is difficult. Wish that was different.

First I do like the fact that it spins at such a high speed that the water is mostly gone, and that is the good news. I do like that it uses less water but when washing any dark colored clothes there are dirt or scum like marks where the clothes may have been folded or twisted in knots which I also do not like. I have cleaned machine but this started when new. Drying doesnt get rid of those scum marks either. I never had this problem with my old full fill machine. I have used more detergent and less HE of course in both liquid and powder. Any suggestions?

We bought a top load washer and the matching dryer. A thermal switch (I think it’s called) blew in the dryer at about two years. Luckily my husband is an electrician, so he took care of that. WASHER-A little after 2 years the plastic “driver hub” stripped And the agitator has stopped working, the door is having trouble locking and it won’t spin fast enough to get the water out of the clothes. I’ve ordered a new “driver hub” for $53! It is a cheap plastic part. Probably 1 cent to make in China. Robbery. This will hopefully resolve all 3 issues I’m having with the washer. They even charged me 9.99 shipping. $2000 later Maytag/Whirlpool should treat their customers like royalty. I will never ever buy another Maytag or other brands associated with Whirlpool ever again.

My refrigerator temperature control panel started flashing lights and the ice maker flap started opening and closing over and over. I checked online and there are numerous model #s doing the same thing, most all contacted Maytag, some were fixed for no charge. Some were not even though they admitted there was a defect in the electronic control panel. I was one of the ones they refused to fix because they said it was an older model but they fixed a 2006 model, a defective part is a defective part no matter the age especially if they know and admit there is a problem with the control panel.I cant understand why they wont take care of their problem, so now I have to spend over $300.00 to fix a problem that they made in manufacturing, that is not an outrageous amount, thank goodness, but I just dont understand why they wont stand behind their product when they can fix out for probably half that cost to take care of their problem. I didnt make the refrigerator, they did.

wW have had this Maytag gas range for twenty years. It has performed well for that length of time (maybe longer). During that period I replaced one burner. Only complaint is that the oven does not heat as quickly as I believe it should.

Maytag MBD7749SB - We purchased this dishwasher for close to $800 at Home Depot. After close to 1 year we had to replace control panel. After another 5 months we have to replace control panel again, but product warranty is only 1 year. Now we have to either buy new warranty for ~$250 or replace control panel for same amount. Customer service: terrible. We will not buy product from Maytag again.

Purchased a new stainless Maytag dishwasher model # MDB4949SDMO ser # F54240259 on 10-20-2015. Installed about three weeks after purchase. This unit is terrible -- has not properly operated or cleaned our dishes since installed. First service came shortly after install. Complaint was unit leaves white film on all dishes. (Soap used is cascade which was recommended by Maytag in owners manual.) Technician installed a new water fill valve because unit wasnt getting enough water. After that unit still no good as unit became noisier and noisier and still leaving white film on all dishes. Second service call: the technician indicated entire noisy pump assembly would have to be replaced and would need to order it. Third service call: the technician arrived and replaced entire pump assembly, taking the old one away with him. The technician said it will be good now. It wasnt, but at least it was quiet. That was in January 2016. This unit still does not clean dishes properly -- continues to leave a white film on everything requiring hand scrubbing to remove. All dishes are hand rinsed with hot water before loading them in dishwasher, but actually dishes are more dirty three hours later after the cleaning cycle has finished than before they were put in. After having to buy new glasses and plastic ware because stubborn white film will not come off and looks disgusting. Tried various different soaps and rinsing products to no avail.Finally contacted service department for the fourth time and today technician arrived and found the unit to be mechanically functioning as it should and can do no more to help. Said to try a product called lemi-shine. Maybe my water is too hard also he said, even though we are on city water! This is our third dishwasher at this home and have never had hard water associated issues. All I want is my full refund for this defective product and I only get the run around from Maytag. Stay away from this machine.

I bought a Maytag washer, dryer, and a dishwasher from Home Depot. It has only been a year and 1/2 and the washer has already broken down. Maytag wont help and neither will Home Depot. We are two elderly ladies (sisters) that used it once or twice a week. I feel we got ripped off. We cannot afford parts, labor, or a new washer. This product needs to be pulled. We bought a Maytag dishwasher in May of last year. The control panel went out about 3 months after we got it. It just started doing its own thing Like not running the wash cycle or a different cycle than we pushed. We called for a repair and were told by the repair man that the control panel was on the fritz. He ordered a new one and told us it would be a month before he could come back and install it. When the control panel showed up at our house, we installed it ourselves because we did not want to have a faulty dishwasher running in the house.Just yesterday we noticed a huge rusty area on the bottom rack. We called and were hold for 20 minutes if not more, before we were even able to talk to a rep. She then came up with every excuse as to why our rack was rusty (hard water, water changing??). We asked for a new rack but she wanted to send a repair kit. We were on the phone with her for half an hour, if not more, and she just refused to send a new rack. When we finally asked to speak to the manager we were told the wait time was 32 minutes and hung up! Do not buy crappy Maytag appliances with even crappier customer service reps! (see our review about our Maytag fridge!).

Almost two years after purchasing the Maytag Bravo XL, I am fed up. I have the exact same problems as everyone else in these reviews. Soap scum left on dark clothes since day 1. I thought maybe I was doing something wrong. I have read and re-read the manual especially the troubleshooting guide and still have the same thing happen. Its very frustrating. I constantly have to re-rinse clothes because of soap, lint, dirt, etc left on clothes. I wouldnt give away this washer to anyone, I would rather burn it. I am currently looking for a new washer, the last one I had for 11 years was a front loading Whirlpool. I should have stuck with a Whirlpool, I still have the matching dryer no problems at all.

It looks big, but is small inside. Its hard to put in several large items. The water filter broke and too expensive to fix. I like the double doors and ice maker. I dont like the freezer drawer. It wont stay open to clean.

I purchased this washer three years ago. It worked fine, but all of a sudden the washer stopped spinning and was not following any of the cycles. Of course it was out of warranty. The repairman states the computer board on the washer is fried and will cost $400 to replace. Several stores have stopped selling Maytag because of quality issues. No more Maytag for me.

Maytag microwave MMV4205BAB - I purchased this microwave in 2007. By 2009, the whole inside was peeling down to the metal. Under the glass plate, the bottom is all rusted. Ive called customer service every year since 2009 and they say the same thing. No extended warranty, nothing they can do. They acknowledged that this was not normal, but they did nothing! Do not buy anything from Maytag. If you do, buy all of the expensive warranties or you will be sorry like I am.

I purchased the microwave less than two years ago. I noticed the display panel would not always work a few months ago. This is part of the control panel that shows time, etc. Called Maytag just now & they told me that the control panel is starting to fail. I just finished paying off my Maytag Bravos series washer and dryer, and now they are failing! The washer isnt getting dirt out and the dryer power button broke. And its not like I can use some pliers to get the switch to work, its like the part that controls the power just dropped out of existence, leaving me with a knob in my hand that connects to nothing! Of course, the limited warranty only covers the drums, not the little dinky parts that break more easily. I had inherited a set of Maytags and they were well over 20 years old (possibly 30) and they both were powerhouses. But this is terrible! I feel super disappointed that Im going to have to buy a new set after only owning these for 18 months. I know I WONT be buying Maytag ever again, though!

I have purchased my top loader Bravos washing machine 3 1/2 years ago and I have had nothing but troubles with my machine. I have had to replace the motherboard twice and I constantly have that foul smell in all our clothes. I have to wash each load twice and still the smell doesnt come out. I have also complained numerous times about the water level not being correct, but they keep saying that is how the high efficiency machine is. I can watch my load washing because we have the clear lid which I like. But at the same time, it gets me really angry seeing how this doesnt clean clothes like it should. I dont believe that the water levels are right at all. I have clothes that dont even get turned over as they are washing and I have even smaller loads than before. I can only clean 4 adult pairs of jeans at one time and I still think that is too much. I clean my machine every time the red light turns on with the Affresh tablets and sometimes I run a clean cycle with just bleach. Maytag has done nothing to try and correct these problems. Its so sad that I have to take my clothes to the laundry mat to go wash them and there I have absolutely no problems. They have the HE front loaders and they have enough water to wash my clothes and I can actually see them being washed. I will never buy a Maytag washer or dryer again. How sad you have all these complaints and no one to help you fix or correct them the right way.

I purchased this Range about a month ago and would return it to the store if it wasnt such a hassle. The set of grates that came with had 1/4 drop from the center to front of stove. Whirlpool sent a new set; they were no better. Then customer service wanted to send a Tech out to see if the grates were out of spec. If they are out of spec they will replace. If not I will be charged $89 for a service call. Whirlpool customer service assured me their service rep would have new grates on his truck. So I drove to their service provider, he laughed and said imagine they want me to send a service Tech out to look at cooking grates and NO they don’t stock them. If you want a cooking surface that is level and does not SCRATCH BOTTOMS all your cookware. The convection oven is also a joke. In order to bake something in the specified recipe time, I have to set bake temp 25 degrees higher to compensate for convection ovens automatic temp set back feature. When I turn on LF burner flames engulf 10” pan, a truly fire hazard. I have a Maytag dishwasher and dryer, love them both. Maytag should stick with dishwashers and laundry. I never have been more dissatisfied with a major appliance. I would NOT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT.

I purchased my new refrigerator in 2005. Within 3 months, the bottom freezer went out. I had purchased warranty and it was fixed. Again, the fan went out 1 year later with the same exact problem. Now, it went out again 2 years later with the same exact problem. I called Maytag and they do not care. They are rude and simply will not fix this refrigerator. The warranty is gone and again, I have to pay for this constant problem. Why doesnt Maytag own up and service this problem. Didnt we pay for this? It wasnt given to us free. Someone needs to step up and gets it resolved for consumers. If legal action needs to bring this to their ignorance, so be it. We all have spent a great deal of money on a refrigerator and all they do is say, is “Too bad. How can any company continue to be in business and operate this way?

I bought a Maytag Top Loader March 2021, this washer machine is the worst ever. It doesnt clean your clothes, & your clothes stink horribly. BBB and an Attorney needs to compensate for our all buyers.

The refrigerator is barely over two years old and the bottom pan fills with water, freezes and leaks out onto floor. Is a very common problem with these refrigerators and Maytag is happy to pay for the new part to fix it, but will not pay for any person to fix it. They have known this is a problem for a while, but will do nothing to fix it. They clearly do not stand behind their product with a known ongoing problem. The Maytag repairman is no longer not busy. Will never buy a Maytag appliance again! Will take the new part and fix it ourselves.

The Maytag dishwasher works really well. Not the quietest, but cleans thoroughly. I dont use heated drying though, to save energy. Stainless steel interior retains enough heat to mostly dry. However, unit died after only 7 years. Expected longer life.

He suggested I contact Maytag directly and they should be able to make things right for me and my family.So, I called, sat on hold for 10-15 minutes, and was finally connected to a customer service employee. I explained all that I knew about the problem, she pulled the repairmans notes and the notes of the technician that had spoken with the repairman. After reviewing the file, she informed me that my 2-year-old refrigerator was out of warranty and there was nothing that could be done.What ever happened to American Made companies standing behind their product? I didnt spend $2000 on a refrigerator that would last me 2 years. I expected 7-10 years, AT LEAST! I expected a company with the name MAYTAG to show some shame for creating a piece of junk and charging a customer this much money for something they know is obviously flawed from the factory. Shame? No. Guilt? None whatsoever.Caution to those considering a Maytag product. Run away! Go find a more reputable company. Go find a company who views customer service and quality products as a priority. We were sold a Maytag Neptune washer mah550bbw in 2004 when it was already on recall by Maytag and a class action lawsuit was filed against Maytag. We also bought an extended warranty. Now we have the same problems as the lawsuit. We own dry cleaners so we do laundry once a month for small articles. For the last few months the clothes have an odor and they come out looking not clean. We were sold a defective and recalled product and are not happy right now. We would like a fast resolution to this problem; otherwise, we seek legal actions.

It had always been my wish to own a Maytag washer and dryer as they were considered THE BEST! Well was I wrong!! I am on the third stainless steel drum, this one has a hole in it, need 4 wheels and pulleys, with service $542.61!!! On the average, I am having a service call every 6 months - last year we were gone for 6 months so no laundry was done, one drum was delivered and was egg-shaped. Maytag has been NO HELP! I am very disappointed with Maytag, their service and product. They HAD an excellent reputation, to me that is everything. Quality, customer service, and their word means nothing to me anymore.

Have read others reviews and experiences and wish I had visited here first. Our first Maytag washer and dryer set lasted over 25 years with only minor repairs until the transmission started to leak grease and was uneconomical to repair. Our second set only lasted nearly 10 years and were obviously lesser quality. The wife decided that she wanted the best and high tech version. She really liked the features of the Bravos 300. What a mistake! Not even three years old and she has been dealing with the noise and the problem with constant unbalanced loads, intermittent error codes, odors and the forever cleaning requirement. The whites were intermittently getting rust stains until I determined that the underneath side of the top cover around the bleach reservoir had rusted out big time. I replaced the top cover for over $125 plus an afternoon that I will never get back. (Out of warranty, of course). Today the wife called me to say that the washer would not complete the rinse cycle and she could not reset it. We had to pump out the water and pick the wet clothes out. A grinding sound is coming from near the bottom of the machine and sounds expensive. The service man is scheduled to be here day after tomorrow to give me the bad news. My next washer purchase will NOT be a Maytag or any other high tech piece of crap. Simple is better.......

Worst washing machine!!! I purchased the top loader Maytag Bravos washer HE in 2011 and they are the worst!!! It has been repaired three times already and now is making such a loud noise and I have been told it is the bearings. I did purchase the extended warranty and it expired. The reason I did not get a renewal is Maytag & Home Depot do not allow the the extended warranty company to let you know the warranty is ending. So now I have a 3 1/2 year old washer that needs bearings and will cost $500 + for repairs. Will not be spending anymore money on this absolute piece of junk. I had a Maytag that was 22 years old that I replaced and thought I was buying the same quality but never again another Maytag. This company may want to employ only repairmen because you will need only them because no one should buy a new one going forward.

In addition when the service guy was underneath the machine to change the module he noticed the stator housing to the motor was falling off. He said he never saw anything like it. After reading about all the problems people have with these machines I have talked friends and relatives out of making the same mistake of buying an old and trusted brand like Maytag. .

Bought top of line Maytag dryer and washer in 2011. Immediately had problems with dryer. Dryer resets timer itself to outrageous times. Clothes so dry they could have been parchment. This has continued with multiple service calls and electronics replaced. Still continuing but they will not act lemon law. I have extended warranties but get runaround everyone including Sears where I bought it pointing to each other. Tech came out today and said problem was the way the dryer is. No way to change it. I guess that is nature of the beast. I will never buy Maytag or from Sears again.

Maytag is a product that I would buy any time. Even uses it well last for a long time. If you want to spend money this is a good investment for your kitchen and as for your laundry get the washer and dryer. You do get your moneys worth with Maytag.

We purchased a washer and dryer two years ago. The washer got louder and louder until we realized something was wrong and we called to get it fixed. Luckily, that was within the time of the warranty. The noise, however, began getting louder and louder within a very short time. Maytag refused to fix it again. Now, the washer sounds like a jet engine and wont drain the water at all.

Recently purchased a washer from Home Depot. Machine is now on its 3rd repair. The wiring harness is fired. Could have caused a fire. Now they still will not replace and part is on order which will take 4 weeks to be in stock. I called Maytag and expressed my concerns to which they could not help me as every washer is theirs can be repaired. I really don’t understand what happened to making things right. Very frustrated that they will not repair or reimburse for that matter. Please refund my mom and pick it up.

Purchased Maytag Bravo High Capacity Top Loader Washer in 2011. Purchased at Lowes. They were great. I did not get the product warranty. Wish I did. At first seemed great. Washed comforters and clothes come clean. It does always get off balance and takes a while to wash the clothes. Well I am on my 4th time having it repaired. Put over 400 into it. Now it is leaking. Going to cost another 300 to fix. Only going on 6 yrs old so done. Just ordered a new washer LG Top Loader with warranty praying I have better luck with this washer. Just wanted let you know I had no luck really. Thought Maytag was a better product. Sad to say not for me???

Oven does not have consistent temp, cant change temp without preheating ruining whatever is cooking. 5 visits from Maytag during added warranty and never any satisfaction. Tough Microwave minutes and the oven goes off. Told it was a Govt requirement. Very noisy even after its off. Maytag wouldnt help or Home Depot either who warranty was through.

I bought my washer just over 3 years ago and it started making loud clicking noises and it seems like the agitator function is not working at all. I have a repairman coming over in a few days. I knew I should have gotten the extended warranty!

I bought this washer three years ago. It is the worst washer I have ever owned. Washing a load of clothes, it goes off balance constantly, large load, small load...it doesnt matter. The smell because of low water usage is awful, and the clothes dont come out clean. I have to buy a new one and that really stinks. Maytag youre off my list for purchases. These days its quality that will keep you in business. We are too smart for this garbage.

I didnt want something from Sears due to horrible experiences with them. Maytag is very reliable and the cost was reasonable. They fit in the small space available for washer and dryer. They have all the features I need. The only complaint I have about the dryer is that for some reason if the load is small, it takes longer to dry than with a full load. I have had them for about 5 years now. I expect a washer and dryer to work correctly every time. If its poor construction I would not buy it. I also expect an appliance to last many years with proper maintenance.

Eighteen months after purchasing the Maytag Bravos, I had to have the motherboard replaced. Maytag offered nothing except a list of names for repairmen in my area. Now another 18 months later, the washer gets out of balance (this is a self-balancing machine, supposedly) at least three or four times for every load. Since it is all electronic, you cant select a spin cycle without the machine adding more water into the tub. Again, this does not self-correct the out of balance problem. Trying to balance the cloths several times during a wash cycle extends the length of time it takes to wash one load on average two hours. Maytag offers no customer service or customer support. Im sure their call center is not located in any part of the United States. I will never purchase another Maytag appliance.

Maytag French Door Refrigerator (Counter depth) #MFC2061KES14 which cost over $2,500 dollars is a DUD and the company is EVIL. The freezer leaks all over the floor and the company will not stand by their product. When I called the company they said they have had to upgrade a part called the drain tube kit because of this problem but did not put a recall. They know that this problem will occur just about the time the warranty runs out. I bet the wife of the CEO of this company has a very expensive good brand of refrigerator. Stand by your product and pay for the repairs and labor to get it fixed and put out a recall. LIFE IN AMERICA!!!

Bravo Large Capacity Washer with Optimal Dispensers - 4.3 Cu. Ft. - The washers shortest cycles take at least an hour (not including having to do another spin/drain) and uses such little water that I have to use the extra rinse cycle on most loads. The washing machine is VERY hard on the clothes; towels (which I feel are pretty hardy) have been destroyed. Today the machine stopped draining/spinning completely and smelled like it was burning. I called the warranty number and was told it would be a week until someone could come out. When I tried to escalate a sooner repair date the manager Jessie refused to assist in any way insisting there was nothing he could do. I spent the morning calling my local repair shops and was able to find a Maytag warranty repair person to come out the same day, but had to call the warranty number again and have Maytag place the request. Sorry for the long post, but this washer is the WORST purchase I have made. The warranty experience was very unimpressive. I will not be purchasing anything from Maytag/Whirlpool/Jennair ever again.

A little over two years and my Maytag dishwasher needs 300 to $450 in repair for circuit board or boards. The repairman said that they got cheap and left out a seal which allows moisture to get into the electronics, duh. They have a known problem but will not stand behind their screw-ups. Never again will I purchase Maytag, Whirlpool or any other product made by the bumbs.

Why is it when you wash dark clothes they come out with white spots which looks like soap. I have put very little soap and it still appears. I usually wash in cold water so I tried warm water - same result. I have had a Maytag for a least 40 years never had this problem - what is it I am doing wrong? I have to wash and rinse at least 2 more times. I would appreciate a answer so I can fix this.

My refrigerator is several years old, and I would buy the same brand when I need a new one, although I would hopefully buy a counter depth one because my kitchen is so small, and the one I have now is kind of big for the space.

I purchased a Maytag refrigerator in November 2016. It is now the first week of June 2017 and the ice dispenser no longer works and the door alarm goes off incessantly and intermittently all day and all night. I am so sick of being woken up by the alarm in the middle of the night. I reread the manual and ran through the limited troubleshooting to no avail. I called customer service, sat on hold for a half hour, and scheduled a service call. As an interim stopgap for the pull-my-hair-out alarm issue, the operator suggested I disconnect some wires, as there is no off button for the door alarm. I wasnt dumb enough to do that and void my warranty. Best part of the call was when the operator offered to sell me an extended warranty. Well see how the service appointment goes, but I have a feeling this is the last Maytag product I will ever get. I am very curious about the lack of product recall as my research unveiled hundreds of complaints about the exact same issues I am having. Why does it seem to take a class action lawsuit before a company fulfills the promises in their advertising? Model number: MFI2570FEZ01 Purchased from Home Depot in Nov 2016 for $1,230.

We bought this he Maytag washing machine about 3 years ago. I have hated it from the start and should have put a review right away because it is a piece of cr#&. It does not save any energy because I have had to rewash loads because clothes come out still dirty, lint still on them, sometimes even dry spots on clothes. I did a wash today and chunks of HE detergent still in the clothes. I am rewashing a load right now. I now have to do a presoak hoping that will help the load come out cleaner. So dont waste any money on Maytags HE machines as I will never buy another one.Being an environmentally conscious person, I thought HE was the way to go but it doesnt save any energy when you have constantly run a laundry twice to get clothes clean. It also does not do a good job spinning as clothes are still very wet. I hate this machine and I am thinking about junking it even though it still runs. Very bad purchase.

We had a house built in 2007 and bought all new Maytag appliances - washer, dryer, oven/range, dishwasher, refrigerator and microwave. Consequently, we spent many thousands of $ and Maytag made much money from our purchases. In the 7.5 years since we have been using these appliances, the dishwasher already had to be replaced, as fixing it would have cost just as much as buying a new one. But its the range that I am so angry about. I have replaced the igniter 3 times since 2007, and last night, it went out again. I have spent $494 so far to keep replacing the igniter and once I make the service call to replace it AGAIN, it means I will have spent approx. $700 to keep fixing an appliance that is only 7.5 years old. Maytag says the warranty on the appliance is only for 1 year and will not budge on giving me a break on cost of parts and/or service. I will NEVER AGAIN purchase anything Maytag or recommend Maytag to anyone.

THIS PRODUCT IS CRAP!!!! I spend $699.00 at Home Depot, after 1/12 years the console stopped working. Maytags engineering staff should be fired!!! You stole my hard earned money. I bought a Maytag refrigerator over the summer - the French door and drawer freezer. Expensive but crappy. After about a month motor starting making noise then is shut down. Called the store. They came and swapped it out and not even two weeks later same thing. Looked up product and all awful reviews. Never thought to look up reviews before purchasing. Could of save myself the headache. Not to mention my daughter was like, Mom stop buying that brand. It sucks. Did you not realize our washing machine is the same brand and after almost two years it started acting up and your last washing machine you had for 10 years before it even gave you any problems.

I would like to start with, my Mother had always used Maytag washer and dryers. Her machines would last 20 years or more. I bought a Maytag front loader washer and dryer in 2006, since owning these machines have spent in upwards of $1400 in repairs. Some being flood out of tub, mother board blow out a couple of times as well as various other issues. The biggest problem is the awful smell of our clothes, I must wash clothes multiple times to try and remove these smells. I tried contacting Maytag and they dont want to hear my complaints and push me off to purchasing another washer and dryer. Oh, I will be buying a new washer and dryer it just will not be Maytag. Do yourselves a favor and DO NOT buy another Maytag. This is not the same company my Mother knew and trusted.

It is nice to know that there are other people out there that have the same problem with the Maytag washers cabinet inside and outside rusting. Our rusting is around the bleach area rim and on the outer seam of the washer. Our washer is now 4 years old. We started having the rusting problems in 2011. We called Maytag and of course. They are sorry for our problem but cant do anything about it. They made it sound like we were the only ones having this problem. We need to stand strong and continue to complain about this problem until Maytag takes responsibility for their poor quality washers. Anyone out there looking to purchase a washer. Do your homework. My grandmother got a Maytag Bravos XL MVWB755 washer and from day 1 she had to call Maytag with issues due to residue left on the clothes. They told her to not use this setting... buy this detergent... only use cold water etc. Never did they offer a repair guy to come out. A year passes still having issues shes out of warranty. They now offer a repair guy but claim theyre going to charge her $90. Once she explains to them that she was never offered a repair guy & they shouldve done this before. They decided to waive this fee and send a repair guy. Once the technician comes out to the house they do absolutely nothing and they fill it up with water say we need to clean it and Ill come back out and do another diagnostic. When they come back all they do is fill it up with water get a glass check the water and say, Nope, no floating residue. Everythings fine. They then tell her she needs to get a water softener which is going to be hundreds of dollars.The technician also says do not use any other settings except for these two. Can someone please explain to me why they have all these dang buttons and settings if were not supposed to be using any of them and why all of the clothes come out with soap residue scummy residue all over them? The old washer never did this. It was a Kenmore and its the same water same everything but this Maytag washer is been nothing but problems. It leaves the residue which is stripped all over dark and white clothes, it is extremely loud, not all the clothes even get wet! Maytag is been extremely uncooperative with assisting my Nana. They tell her no one else not one other person is having this problem but when I look up this issue I find that about 2500 people on this forum are having very similar problems. Something has to be done. Maytag should have to take responsibility for this washer. The bottom line is it supposed to be an XL. When my grandparents are washing its only for two people. Theyre not even filling that washer up of all of the clothes are not even getting wet. It just goes to show you that the energy-efficiency that they claim is not working. The washers not getting enough water inside of it. Its not fully rinsing the clothes and no one should have to put the clothes in wash them then do a whole another rinse cycle just to get the dang soap off. So basically at this point she stuck having to do multiple washes using way more utilities than she should have to and Maytag is basically going to do nothing. It wont help her over the phone the technician is a joke and it looks like so many of you people are having the same issues.

Purchased a Maytag side by side MSB27C2XAM00 in June 2014 to replace a 20 year old Kenmore. After 14 months the fridge stopped keeping things cold in the food compartment and in the freezer. And, the water and ice dispensers stopped working. Called Maytag and they confirmed the fridge was 2 months past the warranty and the best they could do was offer an extended one-year warranty for $325 and set up an appointment. I declined and called a local repair company. They responded promptly and discovered the problem was a bad board. Had to replace the board at a cost of $475 (parts and labor). It was $150 more than the extended warranty but I was already in the hole for $100 service call and I was able to get the fridge repaired on the spot. I had the Kenmore for 20+ years without one repair. Maytag was good for one year and 2 months. Dont know how this company will last with a $2000 product that lasts a year. I can not recommend this product and advise anyone in the market for any appliance to avoid Maytag products.Updated on 11/20/2015: After the board was replaced, the fridge worked but was not keeping either of the side by side compartments cold. They were cool but not cold. Repairman returned. Said it was the compressor which needed to be repaired/replaced. Maytag said the compressor was under a 10 year warranty unlike the other parts of the fridge. Good news, Maytag covered the cost of the part / but bad news that it broke after 14 months of use. However, the service people told me the cost of the compressor was the smallest part of the repair. Labor and service would be costly and Id be better off getting a new fridge with a 5 year warranty contact. After I got over the initial shock of having to toss a 14 month old fridge that cost $1500 and complaining to Maytag, I went to Lowes and found a replacement fridge. This time it was not a Maytag. Moral of the story stay away from Maytag. Dont be fooled by the brand. Avoid them at all costs. And purchase a fridge with a 5yr+ warranty contact!

I would like others to know that Maytag does not stand behind this product at all. I am not sure about other products, but after talking to Maytags customer service team I would guess you would get the same runaround with other products. We have had our washers for about eight years now and have had many things go wrong with it. The one that gets me the most is the one that my appliance repair service does not cover and that is the main bearing. I have done some research to why this is and most of them do not cover this, because they should last for the life of the washer. Most washers last for more than ten years. However this washer has only lasted a few years on each bearing. I have now put in my third bearing into this washer. The last bearing only lasted two years. If I had to pay for labor on replacing this part I would have not replaced it. I had been given a quote for replacing it and it was over $350. Some places wanted more than $400 to do it. To me the washer is not worth this. Yes we paid like $900 for the washer, but it is not worth putting that much money into this washer. If you cannot replace this part on your own then just walk away from it. Buy a Speed Queen. I know Maytag has sent parts to other people free of charge, but I have not been so lucky. When you send others part to fix the same problem, to me that is admitting that there is a flaw in this washer. With that said my wife and I already filed a BBB complaint against Maytag and will be sending a letter to the Minnesota Attorney General. I have proof they have sent replacement parts to others and dont see why they cannot do the same for me. Maytag is own by Whirlpool, you think it would be cheaper and easier to make customers happy than just brushing them off. I would say that customer service in many of these large companies and even small companies is gone. I remember when you would call a company and make a complaint and they would go out of their way to try to make you happy. Now they come up with reasons why it is all the customers fault that their products are bad. Maytag is just another example of a greedy business that does not care about their customers. So please do your research before you buy this product and good luck to those who have that are stuck with the junk that Maytag sells customers.

Maytag Bravos XL - I purchased my maytag washer & gas dryer on 5/12/12. In Dec 2012 the heating element went out. I had to wait a week for a repairman to come out on Dec. 20 to fix it. Now for the second time on Dec. 30th, 2014 the heating element has gone out. I called for a repairman to come out. I have to wait until Jan. 12th 2015 for service. I have 8 people in my home including 3 grandchildren. This length of waiting is ridiculous and very inconvenient.

This washing machine has been very reliable.No repairs needed yet. This machine has stood the test of time. We use it at least.. four times a week. Light and heavy loads. It fits in our washroom and budget. Just perfect. I would recommend this brand to everyone.

We purchased a Maytag Washer and Dryer from The Home Depot in September of 2017. We did not purchase the extended warranty because of our confidence in the brand. Within less than a year, both appliances started making noises. By September of 2018, the washer sounded like it had a bag of mice squeaking inside every time we ran a load and had stopped spinning entirely. I called and spoke to a very kind lady who assured me that even if we were outside the one year manufacturers warranty, they would offer us the extended warranty without question because it was so close to the one year purchase. She took my credit card, we were charged for a five year plan and service was scheduled. After service, both units were still louder than I would prefer but the technician said it was common. Over the last few months, both have become louder and louder. Now the dryer shuts off and wont stay on. When I called back to schedule service again, the date of our purchase was all of a sudden in question. (I applied for the contract over the phone so THEIR rep entered the purchase date.) They are now telling us they will only honor the cost of parts and we are subject to pay for diagnostics and labor (which is the largest cost of repair). They are telling us our contract has to be cancelled and AFTER we receive and PAY FOR all but the parts, we can call and pay for a NEW contract. This has been the WORST appliance purchase we have EVER made and we have lost all confidence in the quality of Maytag/Whirlpool appliances. Both units have been VERY disappointing and we spent over $700 on each unit. NEVER AGAIN.

I purchased Maytag dishwasher Model #MDB7749SBW in November of 2013. The front touch panel no longer works. Everytime I push the selection for wash it automatically jumps to Cancel. This dishwasher is less than 2 years old. I didnt purchase the extended warranty simply because I thought I was purchasing a very reliable product. Lonely Maytag Repairman of old. Ha Ha. I am very disappointed and am telling friends about this and all of the reviews Ive read that are similar complaints. I would never purchase a Maytag product again.

Maytag french door fridge model MFF2558VEW7. I bought this fridge about 3 years ago. Have had nothing but problems. First I had problems with the freezer frosting up, then I had the same problem of ice buildup in bottom of freezer. Now the freezer only gets cold enough to cool drinks and the fridge only gets to about 60 degrees. This is not the only Maytag appliance I have had problems with. I bought a dishwasher a few years ago that quit working just after the warranty ran out. Both bought from Home Depot. After reading other reviews, it seems that appliances bought from Home Depot have had problems too.

We have had washer/dryer Bravo Series and been nothing but horror stories. Washer bounces all over room to point hoses come out and flooded my laundry room and foyer and garage. It takes over 1hour 45 minutes to do loads sheets which is 2 sheets 2 pillowcases. The repair man told me that takes that long due to MY sheets are dirty. I have been married 46 years and never heard that ever!!! The dryer is just as bad, takes over hour and half to dry sheets and towels almost 2 hours to dry. DO NOT BUY MAYTAG ANYTHING. The person who said needed hurricane straps to hold washer is something I agree with. Just a horror.

Purchased our Maytag Bravo Quiet Series 300 about 5 years ago and came to this site to read about other washing machine complaints because I am looking for a new washer. Was SHOCKED to hear so many similar complaints to mine (our local appliance store who sold us this unit, as well as services it, said this was unusual). Tiny holes in all our clothes! Black marks on clothes! Dirty clothes! LOUD & BUMPY washing - will sometimes walk itself around the laundry room, slamming into wash sink & dryer (there are dents to prove the violence). UL light that stops the machine & cant be resolved even after I untangle & lift water-soaked items. Finally started seeing black marks splattering out from under machine & was told the bearing is bad and the case (?) is leaking? ... Anyway, result to repair is MORE THAN ITS WORTH.Also have a 3 year old Maytag Quiet Series 300 DISHWASHER, that does not clean well, sometimes leaves half the dishes untouched (dry & dirty), grinds food waste & redistributes onto dishes before baking it on tight (requires soaking to loosen, then wash by hand) ... Oh, and is NOT quiet! I was told I probably use TOO MUCH SOAP. Seriously?!? My complaint is NOT soap residue ... It is D.I.R.T. How can you run a load and still have sauce & ketchup that dripped onto the inside of the door when loading the dishwasher STILL on the inside of the door??? Darn thing cant even clean itself!

My stove has been reliable and efficient. I bought it about 11 years ago and it looks nearly new. I have a gas range with 2 ovens. The top looks scratched a bit from just cleaning. The only negative is the top which has some scratches if you look closely and when I first got it, I had to have an oven gasket replace. Still I feel it was a good purchase.

About 6 years ago we purchased a new french door style refrigerator. It lasted one year and one month then needed over $700 in repairs. First you need to know I am into electronics, DeVry graduate with 30+ years experience in repairing electronic devices. The Maytag basically frosted over in the freezer and was warm in the upper part of the fridge. I called a friend who had experience fixing fridges and lo and behold we found something really unusual.The way this machine operates is by blowing the cold air from the freezer up into the fridge. There is a fan located in the back of the freezer wall that does this. We found the fan, which was mounted in a grey box, spinning at about 2 revolutions a minute. My friend took me to the wholesale parts distributor he uses and we gave them the brand (Maytag) model (MFD2561HES) and they gave us a fan... just a fan with two wires. No grey box with fan inside... At this point I got curious, I mean WTF?!?The grey box was made not to be opened and I had to get clever so as to not damage whatever was inside it. After getting it open I discovered the fan inside was wired to a circuit board which upon inspection was a timing circuit. This is why the fan still turned only too slow to function. The new fan was installed and my only problem with the fridge now is the ice maker, which I disconnected.Conclusion: Maytag actually designed this fridge to break down and require hundreds of dollars of repairs AFTER the warranty expired by installing a timing circuit that disables the fan that drives the cool air to the upper part of the fridge to keep your food cold and your freezer frost free. Replace the grey box with a normal fan and youll get years of good use out of your French Door Maytag! As long as you clean the seals regularly and dont mind buying ice to fill the tray with... The repair cost me $39 and a six pack of beer for my friend.

We purchased the Bravos X set (Model Number: MEDX700XW0 and Model Number: MVWX700XW2) form Lowes in October 2012. When the items arrived and we used the dryer for the first time in the delicate setting, the machine kept cutting off! So, Lowes brought us a new one. At first it worked but then the delicate cycle on that machine ended up not working as well a few months later. I ignored it and used the other settings. Yesterday, the washer broke. The entire basket detached! We were washing a small blanket and sheet set and kept hearing a loud banging sound. I went to check and the clothes were soaked and the entire drum was detached. I am so friggin angry! We spent over 1200 for this set and less than 3 years later, the set is ruined. I am on the phone with Maytag now b/c they need to replace this set or give us an upgraded set. They know that this set had issues yet they decided to still market and sell it. I want to sue!

I hate my $500 Maytag washer that looks like a regular agitator washer but isnt & doesnt even fill up halfway with water. It definitely doesnt clean my clothes well enough either!

I had my Maytag washer and dryer just barely over 30 days. My washer sounded awful and I had to get a new motor. Then my clothes would come out with dry spots. Not enough water. The computer was replaced and within a few months of purchase, all the major parts of my washer were replaced. I hate it! My clothes still come out with dry spots and it is loud. Worst major purchase I made. Dryer so far has been ok.

After a year or so my Maytag fridge is leaking, I followed instructions on how to remove ice clogging the drain pipe and fixed the problem. I see that this problem is going to repeat over and over again for the life of this unit, because of a poor design.The design fix will be to add a small heater (at the location where the ice creates the clog) actuated periodically by the control board, or at least with a manual push button for the user can easily remove press the button to melt the ice clogging the pipe. This is a cheap design which did not go through design validation and qualification.

On May 23, 2009, I purchased a Maytag bottom mount refrigerator even though I knew that Maytag had many problems with this product and others. I innocently thought that by the year 2009, all their problems would have been taken care of - I was wrong. On April 2, 2011, the freezer part of the refrigerator was not defrosting. I had to make a service call to replace the control board. On March 3, 2013, the regular part of the refrigerator was not cooling. I had to make a service call to replace the control board.Complaining to Whirlpool is a waste of time. The best answer I have received is, I am sorry. There is no end to the garbage Whirlpool is manufacturing and by my experience they dont care. Why dont we, the consumers, hire a lawyer and start a class action suit to let Whirlpool know we are fed up with being ripped off?

We bought the combo Maytag Bravo 300. The issues with the dryer are that it doesnt heat right, have to run the thing twice, after the first 50 minutes the clothes are still damp and it sounds like its going to take off. We had a service man tell us that it was the fan blower rubbing. Now for the washer. It sounds like a b-52 taking off in spin cycle. I know that its the bearings, bearing kit 80 some dollars plus the bearing tool another 80 some bucks. Dont think Im going to invest in Maytags game. If there is ever a class action lawsuit please put me down or notify me.

It has all the features we like and use every day. Timer, lights, fan, built-in Above stove, use minutes or preprogrammed Turntable, quiet, white in color, easy cleaning. Easy to replace filter and light.

Please Do NOT purchase the Maytag Aqua Lift Gas Range. It does not clean anything, you will pay more money for a cleaning oven that does not clean any grease or droppings if you cook. This is not an Oven for any one, or family that cooks large meals or has gatherings. I had the technicians at my house over 4 times and they confirmed that this oven is not a self cleaning oven. It doesnt get hot enough as your self cleaning ovens. And MAYTAG did not want to hear anything, basically not clean much, but advertised as a self cleaning oven. Having been a Maytag customer for years I will never buy a Maytag product again. And we need to support American made, but not when the consumer is misled.

Have a Maytag refrigerator, less than 2 years old. Water is leaking from top of the inside of the refrigerator, presumably related to water dispenser, unrelated to filter, and dispenser still functions. In shock, Ill have to pay an additional $347.00 to Maytag for an additional warranty if I want them to remedy this!!! Model # MFT2672AEM10. Buyer beware! Upset that such a new refrigerator would have problems - more upset that the company is making no efforts to make it right without charging more. The refrigerator was not cheap in first place. Also the time spent to have someone come out... Maytag advertises repairman boredom.... Never had another problem with other appliances unless they were much older!!!

I purchased a Maytag Gemini gas range in July 2006. Rust has appeared on the bottom of both oven doors. I called Maytag customer service, realizing that my range was no longer covered by warranty. However, I feel the paint on a range, costing over $1,000, should last longer than 5 years. Customer service told me to call a repair technician. When I asked who would pay for this service call, they didnt even bother to respond to me. As I have read other reviews of dissatisfied Maytag Range owners, Im glad I didnt waste money calling a repair tech who would do nothing to help, but charge a $100 plus fee. The paint on a car, which is subjected to all kinds of weather, lasts much longer than 5 years. You would think the paint on an appliance inside a home should last much longer. This rust is becoming very unsightly. I will certainly not purchase a Maytag product again, as the company has proved they do not stand behind their product line.

We used to own a Neptune Model. After always leaving the door opened and following the recommended monthly cleaning and many extra cleanings with diluted bleach and water, we could not get the smell out. We paid for a new seal, Advice from Washing Machine Repair service even though we paid a lot for an extended warranty. We had to pay for this ourselves. We also had our year to year maintenance. Because we could not fix the issue, nor would MAYTAG, we donated the set to donated it to Salvation Army.We decided to give MAYTAG another chance, so we purchased a brand new FRONT-LOAD WASHER and DRYER in 2014. As I would repeat the same regiment, I would notice little black specks, so I would clean it an extra time with Afresh. I have continued to this date, repeating the same regiment of keeping my washer clean and serviced as we should, I now have the whole tray dispenser spotted with LARGE black goo that smells. So I have continued to clean my Washer.After returning home from the Cleveland Clinic, I was ready to do our laundry from the trip, more black goo and smell coming from my Maytag front-load washer. My sister had stayed with my 86 year old mother and had wash a load of towels while we were gone. She left the door opened also as she was instructed many times, and that is how we found it. So I took the dispenser tray out as usual and bleached it and scrubbed it. As I did this I noticed bigger areas of goo. I looked in the dispenser housing and OMG it was covered with black mold. I am appalled that our $900.00 Washing Machine is like this. This IS BLACK MOLD, There is no way to remove this mold. I have the sides and bottom cleaned with bleach, BUT I cannot get into the multiple crevices.I called Maytag and I was initially told by a Maytag Customer Service Person said that it sounds like BLACK MOLD and MAYTAG COULD DO NOTHING! I asked to speak with a supervisor. At first she seemed a little put off, but as we talked she became more pleasant, I offered to send pictures or a video of the WASHER WITH THE BLACK MOLD and she said no. She told me to pour bleach into each dispensing compartment and the drum. Then run a wash with no clothes on all HOT WATER 2 times, then rinse 2 times and this should get rid of it and to also leave the dispenser drawer open a crack as well as the door after each wash.The Supervisor said ok and thanked her for her help. Then she said good luck and thanks for calling MAYTAG. Ive did and already do everything our Washer manual says to do on cleaning and maintenance of my expensive Maytag Washer and dryer. The manual says nothing about leaving the dispenser drawer open a little so it dries. The bottom of the housing looks great from doing this, along with me scrubbing it until 5:00 am with diluted bleach water. However, in the MANY SEAMS, CREVICES, THE SCHUTE AND POSSIBLY THROUGHOUT THE WASHING MACHINE IS BLACK MOLD that we cannot access without disassembling the machine and voiding our extended warranty.MOLD GROWS RAPIDLY and causes many illness. I already have an ongoing illness since childhood, I take care of my 86 year old mother, my husband just finished cancer treatment in January. We certainly do not need any other health issues. I called my local Appliance repair company and they said that they normally do not handle anything like this, but if my husband couldnt take the outside of the machine off then the top I could pay for a repair person to come out to take it apart then call and have them come back to put it back, pay them again to reassemble our Washer.I believe Whirlpool in its purchase of Maytag has taken a Monkey on its back. Maytag will do nothing, why should they? They already have their money from when we purchased our machines along with money from many other consumers who also have ongoing issues with their WHIRLPOOL/MAYTAG Front-Load washing machines. It is undignified and deceitful how they treat their consumers with such disregard when we have filled their pockets by being loyal customers.Word of mouth is good or bad advertisement for any company. Everyone who has unresolved issues of any kind can write a formal complaint to the CEO and President of Whirlpool/Maytag. The address is on the internet. Shame on Whirlpool/Maytag for taking many consumers hard earned money, when apparently some of Whirlpool/Maytags money is ill gained by developing and manufacturing a consumer product that causes black mold and marketing it to sell to us, the consumer. THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE WHIRLPOOL/MAYTAG. OWN UP!!! My advertisement begins today!!!

I bought a Maytag MEDB835DW0 s/n M51202974 just about 2 months ago brand new. After less than 2 months it malfunctioned that it would not start. I called the customer service center on Sept 11, 2015 to report my problem. The rep I got was polite and caring and said she would keep on top of this. On Monday I called the customer service again to get an update. They could not locate one of the authorized repair people. The one they found did call me back but I was out of their service area and would not service my dryer. I was told that my problem was turned over to their Maytag/Whirlpool research or resource to find a repair and I would be advised within 7 days. They did give me options, I could take my clothes to a laundromat, which is 17 miles away where I love and they wont pay for my gas. Or I could get my own repair center but they would only cover up to $150 of the repair in labor cost and the part would have to come from Maytag/Whirlpool center. Then I would have to send my invoice to Maytag/Whirlpool for reimbursement. Now a company that cant get me a company to fix my dryer is going to send me my money back to me in a timely manner? I dont think so... Now on Monday after talking to the customer service I got a request to fill out a survey of my experience. I filled it in with details and today they called me from the corporate off in Benton Harbor regarding my survey. Well I finally thought I would have some action on this... Oh no was I wrong, they wanted to know why I filled it that way. I told them that this is a warranty issue. They did not offer me anything new but the same crap that the customer service offered. I now have a dryer less than 2 months old that I paid cash for. I am also 70 years old and on a fixed income as I explained to the Benton Harbor. It is quite evident that they could care less about customer service and their warranty. They do advertise on TV the Maytag repairman. Trust me this person does not exist and now I have $700+ item that I should put out on my lawn, take off the door and use it as a planter... and have a sign on THIS IS MAYTAG. DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THEM. I am so frustrated with this issue I want to scream.

The AquaLift Self-Cleaning is a very poor substitute for a normal high temperature Oven-Range. It gives as much work as an oven without any self-cleaning, as it does nothing to the sidewalls or the door. The minimum temperature is 170 Fahrenheit, too high to rise a dough.

On 7/8/11, the non-freezer part of the refrigerator failed to cool to needed temperature. This fridge is model MI TXEMMWWOO, with serial no EY4705715, purchased on 7/13/10 at Home Depot.We contacted Maytag and were told to wait until Monday. On Monday, we were told that a serviceman would be out on Thursday, the 14th. On Wednesday, the 13th, the serviceman called to inform us that he would come the next day and that he would have to collect for the call. Since the fridge was still under warranty, we demurred.We went to Home Depot for advice. They called Maytag, and after an hour of getting the runaround, we were told that the serviceman would come on the 19th and that the call would be covered by the warranty.On the 18th, the serviceman called with the same message as before: he would have to collect the charges for the service call. Another trip to Home Depot led to the advice to activate the extended warranty at this point.Under the extended warranty, the serviceman came on the 21st, had to order a new part, and finally installed the new part on the 29th, three weeks after the misery began, and after spoiled foods, many bags of ice, and great inconvenience.We have other Maytag appliances, but this purchase has been a cruel lesson in Maytags lack of product quality, deceptive warranty practice, and indifference to consumer satisfaction.

My Maytag dishwasher Model No. MDB7759AWS1 caught on fire last night, inside the control panel on the top of the door. This was very alarming as it filled the house with smoke and caused some fire damage on the bottom of the countertop also. This could have easily caused a house fire and is very disturbing. When I called Maytag, they say this model is not recalled. In my opinion it needs to be. This is a huge accident waiting to happen in other peoples homes. Please beware. If the countertop would have caught on fire entirely, the house would have gone up in flames.

We purchased our Maytag Bravos washer/dryer in January of 2012. In October of 2013, I noticed that the lid would not close properly. In examining the lid, we discovered that the screws were in tact but the information panel on the inside of the lid had come unglued causing the lid to be obstructed from closing properly. After calling Maytag we were told that they make a quality product and, in what I consider to be a condescending reply, could not help us. Replacement of the lid with the service call would cost almost the cost of this expensive washer. So disappointed in what we thought was a wise purchase!

This washer is no better than a glorified garbage can. Maytag AKA Whirlpool should be ashamed to put their name on this product. Like others before me on this website my washing machine sounds like a jet is taking off in my basement. When I contacted a serviceman, he told me the drum seal is broken and the bearings are shot. I have the machine since April 11, 2011. Not even three years to date! I do not have an extended warranty so shame on me to believe that a 900.00 machine should last well beyond 3 years. Unfortunately, I am getting the run around from Whirlpool as all of you have experienced. This is criminal. Not only are we as consumers being defrauded by irresponsible manufacturing but these huge hunks of metal and plastic are polluting our environment. Our parents had washing machines and dryers for as long as 20 to 25 years and they actually cleaned clothes. We now have high efficiency machines that destroy our clothing and leave them dirty and wrinkled. They are now made to break in 5 years and from what I see on this website the average for breakdown is becoming 3 years. Do you think that this is not by design? The service call turns out to be more than the value of the machine, so the repairman doesnt even profit as consumers refrain from costly repair and repurchase. The only profitability is gained by the manufacturers that keep pushing out junk to the consumer. These manufacturers should be accountable like the American auto-manufacturers became accountable for the junk they manufactured at the expense of a whole city, Detroit.

Bravos XL washing machine is the worst washer I have ever used. IT DOESNT GET THE CLOTHES CLEAN! There is not enough water when filling up, and you cant control it. I put a load of dog blankets in the washer and at the end, they were in the same order as I put them in; they hadnt moved! All the stains were still there and there was soap scum everywhere. Also, while I appreciate a large drum, it is so large that I cant even reach down to get the clothes on the bottom, I have to use a stick to get them up. I am so irritated that I spent $1636 for the washer and dryer (dryer works fine but same trouble with the huge drum). I got mine from Sears online after checking the Consumer Reports which put it in the top 5 washers!!! Dont buy this washer. Waste of money. Will probably just have to throw it out and its brand new.
