Friends, Romans, Countrymen, At first I was skeptical and I once thought that I was the only one whose wife complained about the terrible soap stains and un-rinsed clothes. And finally my rinse and spin cycle stopped spinning and rinsing! However, after reading several reviews and complaints about the famous Bravo X He washer by Maytag and taking into consideration that there are over 650 complaints, making mine # 651. I now find I have lost all skeptical-ability and feel that we all may be comrades in this venture of purchasing the new trademark of the trade-mark Maytag. As almost all of us say our previous experience with Maytag was great. My parents had a Maytag since I was knee-high to a grasshopper and we were a family of eight. First we had the one with the rubber rollers, that was a work of mechanical genius. I even remember getting my arm caught in the rollers. Then my dad bought the spin dry model and that lasted a good 20 years. When I say the Bravo X at Sears it looked like the state of the art washer. However, and unfortunately I will have to agree with all of you. It is a piece of scrap metal and Maytag will not recall or recognize their mistake and make good on a recall or something. The least they should do is give us an old machine that does wash and spin to replace the new one that is less than 2 years old and does not work. I sure hope this letter does not fall on blind eyes. I think we may even have a collective lawsuit.Sincerely Yours;Mr. Lost All Skeptability!

I purchased a Maytag commercial residential washer in late 2018, supposed to have a warranty for at least 5 years. We are in California and I was told that there was only one facility that could come two weeks later. I removed the front panel to have it ready for service tech, who on the first visit kept saying he did not know what the problem was, and left telling me he would order parts. After Christmas, I could not get in touch with service so again called Maytag. Service was supposed to come out on the 30th.After waiting almost 3 hours, he called to tell me he did not have the parts. Also, this repair tech treated me very bad since I removed the front panel which I thought I was being nice. He called me back on the 30th, said someone gave him a part, and came. All he did was remove control panel, lost the start button and told me it worked without checking it at all. He was rushing to another appointment so I tried to start it and it still had the original issue, which was slow agitator and a rubbing/grinding sound. Now, after he did something with control panel it had a clicking sound. I immediately called corporate and was told when he came back, which has now been over a month with no washer, that he would be with a senior technician.January 5th I waited all afternoon and he called and said he was not coming and that my whole washer would have to be rebuilt. He never replaced the parts on previous invoices I received, and I filed a complaint with the BBB. Now they are completely lying. Technician trying to say I had the control panel apart which is not true, and does not match up with the invoices I received. They are telling me my warranty is voided! Its been a month and a half. I was treated rudely from the beginning and now I am obviously being retaliated against. I have 3 kids, two with severe medical problems and have put so many hours into calling with all these issues.I had another service place come out and he removed the agitator and the transmission shaft/drive motor is rusted out, as well as the parts he said he replaced are worn and definitely not new. For this company to come back after all this time and say I did this, when I have the original invoice that clearly states otherwise is absolutely the worst service ever.I bought this machine thinking it would last, and now have to deal with all this. I have nerve damage and it is very difficult to take all the laundry for a family of 5 to do at laundromat. They refused to send someone else out, where they could easily have seen this repair tech never did what he said, and was unable to diagnose and fix the issue. Its appalling to me that this is how they treat customers. Laura ** at corporate is the one saying warranty is voided. The machine looks brand new as it has always been taken care of. They should be ashamed of themselves. Apparently, this is the standard a lot of times with people trying to get things serviced under a Manufacturer warranty!

We purchased a washer and dryer, spent in the neighborhood of 1000.00 hard earned $$... extended warranty, the whole enchilada. Maytag. dependable, lonely repair man, ha.. that is just so much stuff. Well anyway it was a Centennial set. What junk. Never really worked that well to begin with. I trashed them both after exhausting all avenues to make it right. Well I got the hair to report the mess to consumer affairs and see if they are what they claim to be. This is more of a warning to all consumers. The stuff you consume today isnt worth the money you pay for it. The money isnt worth the time you spent to earn it. I am gonna try to find a old washer and rebuild it, and a dryer as well. Or just use solar. Best to keep the old stuff repaired and running. I dont know how many people I have spoken to about this problem. Our infrastructure is crumbling. A consumer based economy. Only there is not anyone to service the products we consume... pitiful. I guess my wife will be out back with a tub and washboard before it is all said and done... she will not like it, I guarantee that. I could not even begin to repair the washer. It was a computer operated board that did not work correctly from the beginning. The dude came out from the repair shop and fixed it while still under warranty. It died a slow painful death shortly after that. I disassembled it with a screwdriver and now have potatoes growing in the tub.The dryer has not met the same fate yet. It just sits there, anticipating the moment when I remove it and dissect it with a Sawzall. And I guarantee that day is coming. Do not buy anything from Maytag or its subsidiaries, think long term. We have become a bic lighter economy. I have been on the forefront of that movement. I did not realize it at the time. I do now. and for that I am sorry. I always expect something to work when I need it and if it doesnt, I try to repair it. Cannot fix this stuff now. The support we used to take for granted has been outsourced as well as the production of the product. Bob Dylan said it best in the song union sundown... Thank you and e pluribus unum.

I have a Maytag dishwasher and the bottom rack has rusted out so that it cant hold dishes. The dividers break at the bottom. I was told by Maytag parts that this is a common problem and theyre hearing from a lot of consumers about this, but it will cost $196 to replace.I spoke with customer service who told me that dishwashers only last 8 to 10 years” and since mine is 8 years old, I should expect that it would rust. Thats unbelievable. They wont replace the rack, nor offer it at a discount.

I am extremely unhappy. This is a terrible washer (Maytag washer MVWC565FW). I am so sorry I didnt buy a GE. Terrible loud noises, shakes and vibrates like a plane taking off. Funny smells as if something is burning. Repairman came 1 week after purchased and stated nothing was wrong. A huge waste of money, I HATE, HATE this horrible machine!!! Totally unsatisfied, I would never purchase anything with the Maytag name again!! Wish I could get my money back!

We had Maytag brand washer and dryers in the past. They worked for years and I was able to repair or replace switches and some parts on my own. The new Bravos XL is a very inferior machine, nothing but problems. The clothes have to be washed two or more times to make them clean. There is no agitator, so your clothes have only other clothes to scrub up against, and the spin cycle is just thumping and banging and thrashing around until you’re able to get in and rescue it from itself. Our older machines had tiny steel shot in the rim of the machine to keep it balanced. Don’t buy this machine ever!!!

After less than two years the commercial washer we purchased from Lowe’s died. A repairman came out after a week and said it potentially needs a new control unit or computer. The control unit is on back order and we’ve been without a washer for a total of three weeks. The situation still remains unresolved and I’m regretting not going back to Samsung. After 9 years with a Samsung washer, it died and Samsung refunded the full price of the washer. It was a poor choice to choose American. :(

Hello, I bought the above top load Maytag washer last summer and shortly after purchase the spin cycle was accompanied by a load grinding noise. This became progressively worse per use and I contacted Maytag Canada. The experience calling is a challenge with often busy, and at times long waits. When I did get through on the line they were very good customer-service-wise and arranged for a local accredited company to attend my home and assess the problem. Service visit number one resulted in the lack of parts to fix, so I waited two weeks for the next visit with appropriate parts. Washer began to grind again, I called Maytag, another appointment was set, service call #2 again resulted in the SAME parts being replaced as service #1, and upon departure the washer immediately resumed grinding. Call #3 to Maytag and a 4th visit was scheduled to my home. This time with a different service provider, parts changed washer not fixed. Maytag called and this time I asked for replacement. Three weeks later I received a new washer. The version was updated so the drain hose no longer reached my drain pipe. Once sorted out, my first wash today with the new unit and GGGRRRIIINNDDDING.. I would not recommend this product. Will be calling Maytag again Monday.

I am sorry I purchased this machine. It was meant to replace a 17-year-old Maytag dishwasher that was not repairable. I figured they were good machines. Wrong. Perhaps I have a lemon, I do not know. I bought the machine on the 23rd of November and it was installed on the 29th of November. Here it is December 12th and I am sick to my stomach. I have already had to contact Maytag customer support and have a repairman coming. This machine does not clean worth a damn! My glasses look worse coming out of the machine than when they went in. I have run two loads with the machine so far. The auto-sense cycle is a joke. It took over four hours to complete and things did not come out clean. Last night I tried the normal cycle. It came up with a run time of 2:36. The first rinse was cold water. The detergent cup was open and empty at 20 minutes in. So what does the machine do for the next two hours??? When the cycle was finished I looked at the glasses and they were spotted and streaked with remnants of fingerprints and lips. So I ran it again trying the quick cycle. Not one bit of difference, still nasty looking glasses. If this machine cannot get the upper rack clean, how can I be sure the lower rack is getting sufficient cleaning? One would think that for $600 it could at least do the job it was meant to do.

I bought my Maytag dishwasher MDB7749SBM0 three years ago. After it was in one month it already needed a service call. It needed a control panel. Out of the dishwasher 4 weeks because this happened over Thanksgiving. Two months later it stopped working and needed another service call. Technician was inexperienced and another one had to be called. Out of the dishwasher 3 weeks. At this time, and because of the expense of the machine, I purchased an extended warranty. This was control panel number two. Not long after, the heating element had to be replaced. Two weeks without the dishwasher. Now, my dishwasher stopped working again and it needs a new control panel. The technician is rude but did offer the information that the moisture ruins the control panels. IT IS A DISHWASHER!!! IT USES WATER!!! I only run the dishwasher twice per week so I cant imagine how poorly it would hold up if it was run more often. I am on my third week without the dishwasher because the part is on back-order! No one can tell us when it will be in. I bought a Maytag because I thought they had the appliance market under control. MY MISTAKE! I am very angry.

The washer does not clean clothes. Thank goodness I bought a 4-year warranty because they have been out 4 or 5 times on washer alone. The dryer is now squealing and shuts off (a safety feature I am sure). The repair person replaced the pulley system and one belt, it still squeals and shuts off. I called the Maytag CEOs office and talked to a machine. Some really nice lady called me back and said she cannot do anything to help me. They have no consumer person to help you and troubleshoot with you. The washer is rusting, it is an inside washer. I live in SE, Texas and they told me it was due to living close to the coast. Well, Ive had GEs that never rusted and in fact, the problem is really with all the HE washers. I hate them. They do not clean clothes. I will never buy another Maytag or Whirlpool product again.

This Maytag bravo washing machine is the worst ever machine I have owned. I bought it new, and shortly after the 1 year warranty expired, I started having problems with it. I had a repairman come out. All he did was take out the trouble shooting guide, press a code, and wait. The machine told him that each function worked. Even though it did not work properly. He hid the trouble shooting guide inside the machine, so I cannot get to it. Now I have so many problems with this machine, that it takes me all day to do 1 load. This thing makes noises that I have never heard from a washing machine in my life. I would never buy another Maytag product, nor do I recommend anyone else to buy one.

My husband and I bought this refrigerator on 11/24/17 at Lowes for $2969.00 (excluding tax and white glove delivery). Never thought that not even after less than 2 years we would be having so many issues with this unit. The fridge part stopped cooling a couple of months ago and we were told by a technician that it was due to some coolant issue which of course our home warranty (Choice Home Warranty) wouldnt cover the repair. Well my husband fought them and we were able to have a second technician come and told us it was a sensor issue which he replaced. In the meantime I called Maytag to complain and they wouldnt even send someone to take a look. Anyway, the fridge worked after they replaced the sensor but unfortunately last week we started having the same issue. You would think for such a price you would get a decent unit, but big mistake there...now we have to find a way to replace it and we have little kids in the house. I also find out that Lowes doesnt even carry that brand anymore, perhaps because its defective. Maytag doesnt want to help us and Lowes cant do anything about it. So please STAY AWAY!!!! Should we be compensated, yes I believe so and so does anyone going through the same issue. Money doesnt grow on trees, stop deceiving your consumers Maytag!

I bought a Maytag MGR5605WW range on July 3, 2011 and it took till mid August before I received it. Right away I noticed when I put a pan on the grates, I had to be careful so they did not slip off. Dangerous! Then I made a pizza, and when I pulled the rack out of the oven, the rack tipped down and the pizza slid down on the oven. Danger again! I went over to Menards and they gave me the number of A&E (1-800-771-3029). I called them when I got home and an A&E person said they would call me back. After a few more calls, no one ever called me back. I went back to Menards. They said I need to deal with Maytag. I am very concerned with the racks, and so is everyone else. They are cheaply made. Tonight I had a family member place the frozen turkey on the rack and it bowed down! Danger again. The grates have a few chips. This is a nightmare. What a piece of trash. I’m trying to get someone to respond. This stove is dangerous to my well-being, and I have no other choice but to use it.

White clothes come out with some sort of grease stains on them and darks come out with a detergent white scum on them. I have to put them through twice to get the scum off and I have to scrub my whites by hand. So much for your new type washers. If I could find a washer with an agitator and water saver on it, I would buy it in a flash and get rid of this so called newest thing on the market. I have to put a cleaner through it every 2-3 weeks that costs me $10.00 for 3 pucks and having to rewash my clothes does not save water or time. There is a lot to be said for the washers that had water saver on them. First of all, I could open the lid during the wash cycle and add another item. (2) I could use the last of the 2 rinse cycles from my white clothes to start a load of dark clothes, that was truly a water saver and both loads were sparkling clean. Every women that I have discussed these new machines with (both front loaders and top loaders) say that you and other companies that think you have improved wash day for women have definitely not improved it but rather made it a nightmare. Absolutely hate this product. I hasnt given me a moments satisfaction since we spent the $1,000.00.

Just a plain white front, which is fine, but it did not get 5 stars because the white plastic control panel seems to catch and show dirt easily compared to the white painted metal door. My washing machine was noisy from the start. We had recently purchased a new fridge and were told when we questioned its noise thats just the way they are. So we didnt question the noisy washer as we should have. The noise got louder as time went on and at the 18 month mark, it was so bad, we had someone look at it. The washer had never cleaned as well as expected, but again, we were too busy to follow up. The repairman advised that the bearing and tub needed to be replaced! Augh! $450 for parts $300 for labour! I contacted Maytag/Whirlpool and was advised they would go good for the parts, I would have to pay labour. Not being terribly impressed, did a bit of research and was told it was worth fixing. As it was technically out of warranty, I was lucky to have them pay for parts. Took 6 weeks to get part. In that time, had questions about delay, etc... at one point was yelled at on the phone by Melissa from Whirlpool as I asked to speak to a supervisor. So fun :( First part comes and it is defective, luckily there was another one in Vancouver, so only an additional 4 day wait. My machine is now fixed. It is extremely quiet and cleans very well. Suffice to say, it was defective from the start. So, Ive gotten to pay an extra $300 over retail to have a working machine! Lucky me! Repairman also advised that he recommends everyone to purchase the additional 5 year warranty as the manufacturers are now only making machines with a 7 year life expectancy and I was VERY lucky in the beginning to get someone to even talk to me after the 1 year mark.

I am a regular customer of Leons and used to buy all my home appliances from them, because I trusted their quality and service of their products. However, last time I bought French Door Maytag refrigerator from them, about two years ago, we suffered from defects in this type of fridge. The problem started before one year when my wife saw some leakage of water on floor in the front side under the fridge freezer door. In the beginning, this was occurring once a month or every two weeks, so she didnt think it would be a problem or it might happen occasionally. However, the water leakage now became worse and almost every day. We had to put a towel permanently under the freezer door to dry the water which appeared ugly. Also, I had couple of accidents that my child slide over because of that water leakage. I spoke to one technician, he told me resolving this type of problems is not guaranteed because the problem will appear again or after while. He said this could be a manufacturing defects in this type of Maytag fridge models!!! Another problem appeared also one year ago, that one of the door handle started to shake very little, but now it looks like moving from its position and there is no way to fix it!!!Therefore, when I requested the help from Leons they told me that, You didnt buy the extended warranty and we cant do anything for you!!! You can talk directly to Maytag. Then, I send email to Maytag explaining the problem. They even didnt bother to reply or call me. Now, I feel that I was bluffed by these companies. I didnt think that I was buying a $2,000 refrigerator to scrap it after two years. That is ridiculous when you buy defected product from them, but they dont care to resolve the issue.

Area tech came out within a week as promise and ran the diagnostics and found no faults. Problem has continued. We do a load a week. Looking for better answers or a new washer.

I bought a new Maytag Quiet Series 300 in 2005 and have had nothing but problems with it. The internal plastic pieces that hold dishes in place have broken off regularly. The door handle also broke. The dishwasher does not drain all the way every time. Now, the dishwasher will quit randomly before finishing its cycle. Our model (MDB7600 AWB) was not part of the recall, but is a lemon nonetheless. Of course, all of this occurred after our one year warranty had expired. This dishwasher is a lemon and a waste of $400. Well never buy another Maytag product.

I bought our Maytag HE washer model #MVWC565FW back in July 2019 after having owned a Kenmore scratch and dent washer from Sears for approx 25 years, and in just one month of using it I knew it was a mistake. There are only 2 water levels - deep water (full tub) or practically no water (though there are a number of settings, there is no difference in water level, its just full drum or very very little water). The auto-sensor water level option is a joke - there is barely enough water to wash anything - its like going back hundreds of years to washing and beating your clothes on rocks. Items in the washer become so tangled it sometimes takes a while to detangle before placing in the dryer. Water stops filling the tub when lid is open - I can no longer wash and rinse delicates while the drum is filling. It took 3 calls w/ Customer Service to get an ADDITIONAL lid latch that I can use to trick the machine to thinking the lid is closed - I keep the actual lid open, then stick in the lid latch I bought - take it out when Im done hand rinsing. This also enabled to to view the washing in action - IT DOES NOTHING! Clothes stay in the same place as you placed them in the tub - they dont move, they dont wash - and I bought a washer with an agitator - that is in quotes because it is a misnomer with this brand! The wash cycles ARE SO LONG it takes all day to wash a few loads of laundry. Once you select a setting YOU CANNOT CHANGE IT - the washer empties and stops, then you have to start all over again - ENERGY AND WATER EFFICIENT...REALLY???? What a bunch of you know what! This is the most inflexible piece of junk I have ever had the displeasure of owning. I have to keep jugs of water on hand that I keep filling up to at least have a bit of water. When I called Cust. Svc. at the beginning telling them my experience - the person on the phone had nothing to contribute - they couldnt even tell me what cycles might fit my needs - they told me to go back to Home Depot and ask someone there! WORST APPLIANCE WORST COMPANY.

I purchased a Maytag Bravos washer and dryer pair in 2009. Over those 5 years I have had at least 8 shirts come out of the washer with tears in the armpits. First I thought it was my armpits destroying the cloth. Then I thought it was cheap cotton (all my shirts are 100% cotton) from foreign manufacturers. Ive had two shirts destroyed this week, this mornings was really thick material. Usually when I remove clothes from the washer, they are entwined and twisted. Consistently when I wash any load including a towel or two, the washer becomes unbalanced. My clothes often have a foul odor after washing. My theory is that the lack of a center agitating spindle is allowing the clothes to tangle, and not really cleaning them. I have to use the extra rinse setting or the clothes come out covered with soap suds. In summary, Im not happy with this washer and will never buy another Maytag appliance. Im also not sure the high-efficiency technology has had all the kinks ironed out.

I purchased a Bravos washing machine 3 years, 9 months ago. It has stopped working, bad bearings. How can a major appliance fail after three years for bad bearings unless the bearing were bad to begin with??? The repair man knew by the sound the problem was bad bearings. The washing machine sounded the same as it always had, which means the bearing were bad from the start. My first washing machine, a Kenmore, lasted 21 years and a few months. How can you produce such a terrible product and expect I as a consumer would buy another Maytag product or recommend a Maytag product? Not to mention what will now enter a landfill someplace, terrible!

148013 Stan & Pauls Dartmouth MA - 3 yrs ago we remodeled the kitchen... I went with Maytag appliances because I was always told they were good. I should have stayed with GE. Dishwasher touch pad is gone again... 2nd time in 3 yrs. Last one cost us 265.00. We are senior and thought these appliances would outlast us. We only use it about twice a week. Our freezer door tracks and door needed to be replace 6 mo after purchase. WE lost all the food that had defrosted. Our oven coil burned out already also... that was expensive to replace. Only thing that we have not had to repair (knocking on wood) is the microwave. STAY AWAY FROM MAYTAG, FOLKS!!

We bought a Bravos model in May 2010. Two years later, the machine started making noise during the final spin cycle. We finally called a repairman who came today and informed us it was a bearing in the outer drum. The cost for the part (the drum assembly) was $290, not to mention the cost for labor. Since we only got the original warranty, the service center at Maytag refused to help with the repair. We, as others who have had problems with Maytag, bought the washer because of Maytags reputation. This is why we have to buy extended service warranties. Companies make trash! What happened to the days when an appliance lasted longer than 10 years? Why cant we buy a good sturdy appliance without superficial bells and whistles? We have no idea if any other brand is better, but we will not buy another Maytag.

Maytag Glass top model #MER8600DHO. I bought it because it got good consumer reviews. This is supposed to be a self clean oven but the steam system in this model is not very effective. It doesnt clean the oven. Would never buy a range again with this oven cleaning system. I wanted to try a glass top stove but wish I hadnt. It is harder to clean and the glass scratches. I really dont like the self clean oven system in this stove - it flat out doesnt work and it takes a lot of elbow grease to clean the oven. The oven however seems true to temperature and does a good job. Overall I am Ok with this stove but wouldnt purchase a glass top again.

It was given to me at 1 yr. old by my sister-in-law when she decided to splurge and create her dream kitchen and went with stainless. The door handle broke in the first year. We glued it. It just recently completely fell off completely-snapping at both ends. I am calling Maytag and attempting to have it repaired. I am otherwise very pleased with this appliance. I have had other microwaves for many years without this happening. Im hoping they will agree to repair.

In 2011 we purchased a complete appliance grouping at Home Depot by Maytag to include the dishwasher. For some reason we neglected to purchase an extended warranty on the dishwasher. Lo and behold in 2013 our control panel went bad and the cost to repair it was almost as much as purchasing a new dishwasher. Thinking this was a fluke we were dumb enough to purchase another Maytag from Home Depot due to the loyalty made in the USA. Well here we are 2015 not even a full two years later the control panel started acting funny a few days ago and yesterday just plain old QUIT. Fortunately we were wise enough to purchase an extended warranty plan on this dishwasher so tomorrow we will be calling the repairman. Unfortunately Maytag has never solved the problem that has been occurring for at least 5 years and continues to sell this product to unsuspecting schmucks like us who try to be true to the made in the USA slogan. Shame on Maytag!!! Our model number is MDB7749SBM. Buyers beware.

I wash two loads a week so has not been used that much and now it will not drain. I tried everything, canceled the cycle out, checked the circuit breaker, unplugged it, removed the clothing, bucketed out the excess water, tried the drain and spin cycle, etc. Just will not drain or spin. Repairman is coming next week... Still under first year warranty but if it is not the “fault” of Maytag I was told there will be a $90+ minimum service charge.

I purchased the subject Maytag washer (MHWE201YW-3.5 CU FT WHT FRNT LD WSHR) from Home Depot in December of 2012. I got exactly 1 year of use and then the washer stopped working. I called the Home Depot repair person who came and repaired the unit. The repair lasted two weeks and the washer stopped working again. Because the unit was no longer under its 1-yr warranty the Home Depot repair person was not available for repair. Another independent Maytag repair person came and evaluated to problem. He said the computer which is located on the motor was no good and to the tune of over $400.00 (parts and labor) a new motor was purchased and installed. It lasted two months and it quit working again. After several months I was finally able to contact the original Home Depot repair person for one visit. He said he would check the code message and get back to me. I never heard from him again. I have been taking my laundry to the laundromat ever since and it is getting expensive. I dont want to spend another $400 on this machine as it will only break again. What do you recommend?

I purchased a Maytag Bravos XL Top Loading Washer and matching dryer in 2013. I had a repairman out to install a new screen on the dryer because the lint was spilling over into the surrounding area. The new screen has been catching most of the lint, but I still have to vacuum the surrounding area after a few loads. Also, I have to turn the dryer on two (2) cycles in order to dry most of the clothes, and the machine makes a lot of noise. Those are minor problems compared to the washer. It constantly tears holes in my towels and wash clothes. I NEVER put in a full load because the water level is so low, and it does not clean the clothes. It takes a long time to go through cycles and it is EXTREMELY noisy.I called Maytag and they said that they never heard of the problem of creating holes in towels and wash clothes, and wanted to charge me over $100 to have a repairman come out. They also said that the repairman might not find anything wrong. I feel that the washing machine is very hard on the clothes - like the salesman at Lowes said It’s like beating the clothes against a rock. The washer and dryer are JUNK, and I would not recommend these to anyone! I would trash them, but they were very expensive and we cannot afford to buy new at this time.

I purchased a new Maytag from Home Depot. It was delivered and installed by them on 7/20/12. Today is 9/18/12. It is less than 2 months old and the tub is starting to shred around the upper rim. I called to get it repaired. What a nightmare. First I tried to understand a Filipino woman through a bad connection. She advised me to call a different customer service number, 1-800-688-9900. I talked to Crystal. She called up information on me using my phone number. She asked for the serial number as she had the model number available from the online registration I completed on 7/20/12. I told her I do not have that and asked where it was located. I also told her that I was unable to get it at this time as I am handicapped. She advised me that I had to show my repairman the receipt or I would have to pay a $60 service charge. I get nervous about throwing good money after bad. So I then asked why. If the serial number is so important, why is it not a required info when you register online? She had no answer. I asked to speak to her supervisor. I waited 4 minutes. Enna finally came on the line. She gave conflicting info about my online registration. She said I was not registered online (if not, how did Crystal have all my other info including my model number? Why did Crystal tell me I had registered without the serial number?). Enna told me that the repairman could key in the serial number when he gets to my house and if my washer was under warranty, I would not be charged. Again I asked why, if the serial number is so critical to the process and with all the info they seem to have on me (name, address, phone number, model number, place of purchase, date of delivery, etc.), why is the location of this very critical number is not in the owners manual? Why do they allow you to register without it online and why dont they track sales and delivery by serial number? She was unable to address these issues. I asked to speak to her supervisor. She told me she would give me her supervisors name and number (Kim, **) but she would not give me a last name or contact information. She told me that she was the highest level that I was allowed to speak with.Bottom line, my Maytag is falling apart, getting through the red tape to get it fixed under warranty is silly. Maytag ignores its own concept of tracking by serial number and does not support the use of serial number by telling you where it is located on an appliance or requiring it to register online. Calling customer service is a joke! I was mad when my new $800 washer started to fall apart. Now I am just sad with the way we allow manufacturers to treat us. Mad about the way we allow them to operate in the United States. They create junk or junk parts overseas, products fall apart over here, calls for repair get routed around the world, and then they create more red tape and call it customer service. I made one bad choice. Hopefully, you are reading this and can avoid your own.

I have owned this Maytag washer model # MVWC360AW0 since Dec/2013. I do not have a single complaint about this machine. It has worked flawlessly for 5 years and am very happy with it. I just follow common sense maintenance like cleaning it once every month (do a full cycle with just borax & baking soda 1/2 cup each) no clothes of course. Another thing I do is to leave it open after I am done washing so it dries completely before I close the lid. The washer looks and works like new, cant be happier...

We purchased a Maytag from Lowes about 3 years ago. The spin function quit working properly last Feb 19. We paid $350 to have parts replaced thinking it was a fluke and we would be set for a long time to come. Well, last week the same thing happened... not even a year later. Lowes doesnt care and Maytag doesnt care. They want you to spend more to get a warranty to get you to 5 years... well as far as I am concerned that is not good enough. An appliance should last 10-15 years. This Maytag was to replace a Whirlpool that caught all of our clothes in the agitator fins, so after a short period of dealing with that we paid out for a Maytag without an agitator. So in the span of 6 years... we had about $1,500 of dissatisfaction. I believe our repair guy said they the companies are one and the same. Selling junk ought to be illegal.

I have two major issues with my stove. First is that you have to press enter after setting an oven temperature and it doesn’t even beep to remind you before just cutting off. Older, forgetful people like me have probably prepared countless dishes for the oven only to find that it is not preheated. The second is that if you turn on the timer, it cuts off the oven. You only make that mistake once before writing the timer off as useless. I have a hard time believing that they ran either of these by anyone who cooks! One other mixed feature, the heating element for the oven is below the floor of the oven. This causes it to preheat slower - which compounds problem #1 - but makes cleaning a breeze.

I bought the Maytag Bravo XL washer and dryer several years ago after reading many reviews. I like the glass top of the washing machine and the front door glass on the dryer. The dryer is fine its the washing machine that does not perform like the old machines. Whoever came up with the bright idea of saving water by cutting down the volume in your machine to about 6 inches for a good size load probably have never used a washing machine in their life. It does not get your clothes clean and does not get the soap out of a clothing to my satisfaction. Who made this suggestion? My husband and I bought a Maytag dishwasher, Stove and Fridge. We were very reluctant because at our prior home we had Maytag appliances and they kept going out. Against our better judgement when we moved into our new home we decided to go with Maytag once again. First the dishwasher front panel stopped working. We had it replaced and it cost over 250.00 with replacement part and labor. Not a week later went by when our Fridge went out, that cost us another 300.00 plus to fix. Keep in mind we had only had these appliances for about 14 months. Less than a year of replacing the dishwasher panel it has gone out again. This is very frustrating and expensive. I dont usually write comments, but felt the public needed to know that Maytag has poorly made appliances. I recommend you spend the extra couple of hundred bucks and buy the better brands and warranties. Thank you.

I did my homework and shopped around and chose another Maytag. First, the ignitor clicks and clicks but doesnt ignite. After 4-5 times I have to shut the oven off and restart it. But worse than that is the enamel on top. The quality is HORRIBLE. You cannot use anything but a soapy sponge to clean the top. With my last oven I was able to use anything (softscrub, ajax, the scrubber side of a sponge) and the top was shiny clean. My stove top is covered with scratches and is not even thoroughly clean. I should have gone with my original choice but my husband was concerned with the durability and warranty hence why we purchased this washer. It’s just the 2 of us and I frequently use the delicate cycle. Unknown to me at the time you can not adjust your water level so if you’re washing delicates plan on wasting a lot of water unless you only wash your delicates once a month. In my opinion delicates are undergarments, blouses, etc. delicate cycle in “deep water wash” only. As far as we can tell the wash cycle at its longest is 8 minutes which I guess for commercial grade is probably correct. However there is a presoak option that I don’t the believe does the work of a longer wash cycle. If you have to do a quick scrub on a piece of clothing as the washer is filling up you can not do this as everything stops once the lid is up.Last but not least the washer is loud it sounds like it’s going to break down at any minute. I’m sure many of the issues people have with products today are due to government regulations. I’ve tried contacting Maytag customer service on numerous occasions to see if I’ve been doing something wrong even though I’ve read through the operating manual several times, I’m currently on hold for 20 minutes. Doing the laundry has never been the highlight of my day but I never minded it until now. I absolutely dread it now. My suggestion would be if you like the features on your current washer, spend what you need to to get it working properly which is what I wish I had done with my 23 yr old washer. Worst purchase I’ve ever made!

Maytag Centennial - It came with the house. I think its a line made special for rent-to-own kind of places. I cannot stand the washer. It will not take fabric softener unless its in the ball and if you use extra rinse you dont get to use fab softener at all. (I like liquid fab softener on some things). Why it doesnt have a dispenser is beyond me. And the bleach dispenser is poorly designed, too close to the tub and splashes every time. Ive had this six months and would get rid of it in a heartbeat if I could afford to. Plus it snags towels. The washer is crap. And its a Maytag. I wish it would break so I could justify buying one that has some decent features like fab soft dispenser, bleach dispenser that doesnt splash, drum that doesnt snag.

I have had this washer for a few years now and it is the WORST machine ever. It never gets clothes fully clean as air gets trapped in some items so they stick out above the water. The drum only fills about 1/4 of the way no matter what you are washing. It is always unleveling and you have to constantly re-arrange bed sheets and larger items. I have to first soak larger items before the wash cycle. Nice HE machine. When I purchased this machine the sales person said you can wash 10 bath towels. I read the directions which said make small piles of clothes and I called and told her that after I had purchased the machine. Her reply was oh, I didnt know that. Obviously. This top loader without the agitator cleans great if you only throw in about 10 thong underwear at a time or two pair of jeans.

Do not buy this refrigerator!! It’s small on the inside but to top it off the vent is on the left side, not in the back, so everything freezes on the left side of the refrigerator. Plus they positioned the light right in the front at the top so you cannot put a gallon of milk or anything tall. Not orange juice, apple juice, nothing!! Horrible design. I’ve had the repairman out, he said he couldn’t do anything about the freezing on the left side unless he turned the temperature up on the fridge and on the freezer. We tried that & The ice cream was so soft, almost melted. The problem then was the temperature was too warm for milk and other items. Not a recommended temperature to keep cold items. He said I would have to keep everything away from the back & the left side to use it without freezing my items. I’ve lost a lot of food because of this. Very unhappy with this refrigerator!!

Maytag washer has increased my water bill; it was supposed to be energy efficient! Also, the washer will not wash a blanket. Sensors will move a large item to one side causing an uneven load which then causes numerous extra fills until stopped manually. I was told to add more items! A blanket barely fits in the tub. I had to invest in lint rollers since the rinse cycle is inefficient. This washing machine is useless. I should have stuck with Kenmore.

I purchased a new Maytag range (gas) in June of 2012 - 6 months ago. I have had the same problem many others have had (as Ive just read) with the toxic smell every time I used the oven. I was told it was just the chemical burning off from being new. I have never owned a new oven so I took their word for it. On Christmas day, my kids and I were going to bake cookies and set the oven to preheat. Flames and black smoke were shooting out of the range, and the fire department was called. Even after the fire department put out the fire and removed the stove from my kitchen to my front porch, they spent more time investigating the situation to make sure my home was safe than the certified Maytag repair person that was dispatched out by Maytag to service the range. This stove is only 6 months old and still under warranty with Maytag. The service person they sent out did not take the stove apart and spent less than 5 minutes looking it over; then he determined that it was a grease fire caused by owner’s negligence. I disagreed with him and told him I have been cooking for many years and thought he did not do a thorough job to determine the problem with the range. He got very upset with me, took his bag and left without leaving me a service slip. I asked Maytag to send someone else out and explained to them that this service person did not do a sufficient job in examining the range, nor did he perform any kind of service to get the range back in working condition. Maytag claims they will not send anyone else out, and there is nothing more they will do for me. They say it is my fault it caught fire; and if I want it fixed, I have to pay for it myself even though it is still under warranty with them. My stove is still on my porch where it has been since Christmas day. I then visited Maytags Facebook page and corresponded with others whom have had similar issues with their products and the lack of customer service from this company. Maytag has now blocked me from commenting on their Facebook page. The customer service rep on that site asked me to email her all my information about the range and my issues with it, and she assured me she would respond to the matter. As of yet, I have heard nothing back. I am terribly dismayed by the way I have been treated by this company, their so-called certified service technician, and that they do not honor their warranties or stand by their products. I am cooking for a family of 5 in a 12-year-old microwave (which is not a Maytag by the way) after spending over $600.00 on a brand new range.

Why would I fix this piece of crap when I can buy a cheap one for that price that would work better. Ridiculous! I paid good money for this dishwasher and the warranty that comes with this is a joke. I purchased my Maytag Centennial Commercial Technology MVWC200XW in May 2012. This is the second time in almost 3 years that it breaks down. The basket decided to drop today and by the time I realized that it did, my whole bathroom had flooded, the water spread down the hall into my spare bedroom and soaked through the floor, also flooding my basement. I called customer service. They are sending a repair man next week, but as for all my ceramic tiles that are now cracked in my bathroom and my hardwood in the hall and bedroom that is full of water and are lifting off the ground. Its my responsibility to call my insurances to fix it. Yet it was their washing machine that caused the damage in the first place. When I purchased the washer I didnt expect to have to repair it every year. Not impressed! I do not recommend this washer.

Our experience with our Maytag refrigerator has been anything but good! It has the model # and serial # of the ones that have been recalled, only we have just found out about this. We bought this new at Sears. Soon after, it started having troubles with the freezer, would freeze up and the whole thing would stop working. Over the years, we have had repair after repair, money after money. Just for the record, my husband and I about every two weeks spend about one hour defrosting this monster! It looks nice on the outside.

Washer would stop right after it started. I googled the problem and found out it was a bad lock. These Bravo XL units were purchased in 2015. Called an appliance repair and they charged me $250 to replace the lock (service call was $98.00 and labor was $90). The repairman left and I started the washer. There was a loud sound coming from it. I called the repairman back and he said it was the gear case and basket. He said the basket was covered under the warranty but the gear case wasnt. Would be about $750 to fix....no way was I paying the cost of a new washer to fix this less than 4 yr old one. I called Maytag. They couldnt help me. We have had the oven, a Maytag Gemini Double Oven model mgt8775xs02, for 3 weeks now and I am so upset. First off, I became violently sick from the oven when we first used it. I had a horrible headache and then nauseousness and then the worst stomach problems I have ever had. The toxic smells coming from the oven were too much for me. We had every window open. I looked online and found other people who reacted the same way to their new oven smell. But now we are on the 4th time using the oven. We did a self-clean and I thought that would help but no, it smells like someone is pouring gasoline into my home. I smelled it in pockets throughout my house. I have had the gas company out twice and a repairman. They all cannot figure out the problem. I looked online to see if other people were having a gas problem from this model and I am not finding it. It is horrible. I feel like I am being poisoned. I have not had a working oven in 2 and half years and I was so excited to get this oven and now my new oven is making me so sick. I am not sure what to do from here.

I bought a Maytag dishwasher, when I bought my house (7/2010). I live alone and I use my dishwasher only once a week or once every two weeks. After 3 years of working perfect, it stopped working. I had someone come look at it. After troubleshooting with the basic steps, making sure the water was correctly hooked up, a fuse was not the problem. The dishwasher door was shut completely. He took the racks and all movable parts, & thought something, a piece of glass, etc, was stuck in the drain. Nope. After reading these reviews I realize it is got to be the control panel because the start button will not come on and all these people have the similar problem. It just stopped. Period. The panel lights come on, but not the stop button. I am a single person as stated and on disability and on a very tight budget. I bought a Maytag because of the name and reputation. How long would it have lasted under normal use, say a family of 4, using it nightly? Certainly less than a year. I have no idea what to do now. I cannot afford a repairman, & I am certain it is the control panel on the dishwasher. I do of course have all the model numbers, etc & papers, when I bought it. I can provide proper paperwork, when contacted.

Ive had my Maytag oven for about 5 years and the oven and burners are still working perfectly. The problem is the light bulbs. One of the light bulbs has a rickety connection because I have to keep twisting the bulb every time I turn it on to keep the light on. My other light bulb burned out and Im not replacing it because Im concerned the problem is in the electrical part where I screw it in, not the bulb itself, so Im leaving it off and am using the other annoying bulb and I installed a lamp under the counter to compensate for the missing light from the other stove bulb. The most important part of the oven are the cooking features so even though the bulb situation is annoying, it cooking features perform well.

If the control panel light on your Ice2O refrigerator starts flashing you will learn about the Non-Customer Service of Maytag. The problem is the High Voltage Control Board. Maytag has been aware of this defective part since 2007. At one time Maytag was fixing these at no cost to the customer via a recall. Then conveniently in 2011 the Japanese tsunami wiped out the only plant in the universe that manufactures the part. Now out of the goodness of Maytag’s corporate heart they offer the customer $300 off of a $2300 replacement (Oh, I am so grateful). It is time for Maytag (Whirlpool) to accept responsibility for a defective product and recall this refrigerator with a replacement. In the meantime if you have this problem, my advice is to go out a buy a non-Maytag/Whirlpool product since Maytag/Whirlpool cannot be trusted to stand behind their products. Please share this post with family and friends to prevent others from experiencing Non-Customer Service.

Diagnosis after this appointment for the pump replacement is clutch, rotor & stator are fried.Nov 18th, new rotor came in and Technician says although brand new in box, it is defective from factory. New one ordered. In meantime I have called maytag every week with no results, they tried to get me to accept 100.00 gift card, I laughed, as we are a family of 6 and generally have 6-8 loads a week. And have spent on average 70.00 a week for the last 14 weeks, we could have bought another washer by now. Last maytag lasted 16 years! This one 3 months...They finally decided to replace it, but we wont recieved it for another 4-5 weeks. So, 20 - 22 weeks of no brand new washer bought in good faith, brand rep, and paid for based on prior experience. So far, No customer service, No brand reputation, No product longevity. Maytag dishwasher mdb7749sbm2. Purchased the above Maytag dishwasher model in July 2013. Eight months later the control panel ribbon strip burnt out. The first of many times to come. I had the panel replaced three times during the first year (warrantied by Maytag, now Whirlpool). All I can say is thank goodness, I paid $30.00 for the extended 3-year warranty. It has been the best $30.00 I have ever spent. Unfortunately it doesnt count for all the frustration this appliance has caused me. Ever since the first repairman walked through the door, all he could say is that the control panel was poorly made, electricity and water does not mix and never will. When you use the steam option all you are doing is adding to the problem. (The steam option is the sole reason why I bought the model in the first place!)Anyhow, this model has broken down three more times and it is currently down again as I am writing this, awaiting for a service person to hopefully come out as promised next week. I purchased this appliance two years ago and still have one more year of warranty left. Once it is done, I will be shopping for another dishwasher. If I didnt have it covered with a warranty, I would be paying the service fees of about $251.00 each time they came to change the panel. Shame on Maytag/Whirlpool for not recalling this model.

This model MGR5875QDW range is very difficult to use. When you press broil for instance, the display says set. There is absolutely no indication of how to set. Therefore, no broil. The same thing happens when you try to use the clean function. It is virtually impossible to use the control panel; it is just too difficult. Therefore, most of the functions are not usable. The kicker though is that the handle comes off. During the extended warranty period, a technician came out and fixed it. The toughest part of this job is to get the oven door back on. I tried for 2 hours everything I could think of. Then, I got an idea to use Maytags live chat. They told me that I would have to call for service and pay for a service call to get the door back on. I told them that their clean cycle is too painful to use, so I am assuming I am not the only one who has removed the door to clean the oven. Pay for a service call every time I want to clean my oven or fix their defective handle design because the handle falls off every 2 years? That is not acceptable.
