Maytag model mfd2561hes French door stainless steel purchased in June 2005 has been the worst appliance purchase ever. After 1 year warranty expired, icemaker and water dispenser stopped working. Was told by repairman to thaw the tube for water dispensing with a hair dryer. Are you kidding me? Why should I have to pull a huge refrigerator out from wall and put the hair dryer to it to thaw out the water line when I need water? What is the convenience to that? Cant buy fresh vegetables as it will freeze before I can use it. This is the worst appliance ever. Dont buy Maytag products. Maytag doesnt back products like the old days when they would last 20 + years. Cant last even a year anymore. Sad!

I bought a new Maytag stove and it is less than two years old and the oven has already quit working. It only has a one year warranty and will cost about $200 to fix. I am very dissatisfied with what I thought was a good product.

I am grateful I dont have to beat my clothes on a rock. Absolutely the worst dryer Ive ever had!!! Previous Kenmore washer was my favorite! This Maytag does not allow me options to stop, soak & freely open & close as I choose. Even my adult children who occasionally use it say its the worst!

We purchased our Maytag through Sears. We wanted a very basic machine, and thats what we found at Sears, yay! Fast forward eight years and it suddenly quit agitating. We tried fixing it ourselves by replacing a plastic gear part, which, later on our appliance technician said was totally logical, but it still wouldnt work. We got our appliance repairman out here and he took it into the shop and fixed the problem, which turned out to be part of the motor or something like that. The thing that bothers me the most is that he asked if we had bought a refurbished washer, but we hadnt, it was brand new. He gave us a part that was swapped out that wasnt made for the machine and also said the safety guard for the cord was missing. This keeps it from pulling out of the machine in case it gets jerked. I feel deceived and just wanted to vent because there really isnt anything I can do about it now. Buyer beware, yes, but I know we have to be our own technician sleuths to be sure were getting what we paid for?

Im so mad over my new purchase on the XL Bravo washer and dryer and Home Depot will not return. I have 3 kids and a hard working husband. My clothes do not come out clean no matter what cycle I use. It takes forever just to wash one load. If you spill something on your clothes and it dries crusty it will come out of the washer crusty. I want to cry. So much money wasted and cant get our money back. Would never recommend a washer without an agitator. Towels come out soaking wet, and dont spin dry if heavy...forget washing a blanket. 4th day using the dryer and now there is no heat. What was I thinking!! So mad and sad too!

Washer does not clean very well, clothes are left with spots. The water level is never comparable to the clothes thats in the machine, it causes me to lose a lot of water as well as detergent. This machine is the worst washer we have owned. Its also very noisy.

I didnt want something from Sears due to horrible experiences with them. Maytag is very reliable and the cost was reasonable. They fit in the small space available for washer and dryer. They have all the features I need. The only complaint I have about the dryer is that for some reason if the load is small, it takes longer to dry than with a full load. I have had them for about 5 years now. I expect a washer and dryer to work correctly every time. If its poor construction I would not buy it. I also expect an appliance to last many years with proper maintenance.

Replaced my leaking Samsung washer with a Maytag and I really regret the switch. What a piece of garbage. It has been service twice (thankfully within the first warranty year) due to Main control board failure. Seriously, these washers are good for nothing. Also, the Sanitize cycle doesnt do a good job from day one. Save your hard earned money and buy something else.

I had one set of Maytag washer and dryer and I loved it. I bought another set and hate it. The washer smells and has been fixed a couple of times and the dryer is bad. I had to have a drum replaced because of one of the bars inside. I paid for the insurance but the bar was considered cosmetic. It has fallen off again after about 2 years and Im sick of it. I will never buy another Maytag again. Repairman, of course, had to order the drum and then I had to take another day off work to be here when it was delivered and one more to wait for him to come. I am so unhappy with this brand - never again.

Purchased Maytag dishwasher Model Number MDB7749AWM1 in June 2011. With a two person household, we need a new control panel in Sept 2014. Total cost of service call, repair and part is $325. This unit was a poor value for us. I see the trend is to discontinue a model after a short period of time, making it impossible for anyone to get a review of other peoples experiences. I went with Maytag because of this. It was a company with a strong reputation for quality equipment. Not so anymore. I would not purchase another product made by Maytag.

I have had 2 Maytag washers in 37 yrs and loved their products, however I purchased a Maytag quiet 300 in 2/09 and it is the worse Maytag product on the market. The frame around the bleach dispenser has rusted out and I have called for the 3rd time in 5 years to have it repaired. To my dismay it will cost 300.00 to fix because the bearings have to be replaced. I will now have to purchase a new washer. The days of the Maytag man are long gone. By the way the Maytag dryer has been serviced twice. I thank God everyday for that extended warranty I bought, but now it has now expired.

My daughter purchased this washer and matching dryer as a set from Lowes about 4 years ago. It was one of the few with an agitator and that is what she wanted. After using the washer for the first time she was very disappointed to find that the shortest cycle took over an hour and that the locking lid feature couldnt be bypassed. A few weeks ago the washer began gushing water onto the floor which flooded the basement below. She had purchased an extended warranty which was due to expire the following week.She called Lowes and scheduled a repairman. He finally came 2 weeks later and used the Internet to help him diagnose the problem!!! We could have done that. He decided that the control panel was only allowing the agitator to turn in one direction during the wash cycle. So essentially it was spinning a tub full of clothes and water causing lots of water to overflow the tub onto the floor. Needless-to-say he had to order a part and cant return for over 2 weeks to install it. IF this is even the problem! He also said he couldnt disable the locking lid feature! If my daughter had been able to open the lid when the problem started she would have known more about it.We are thankful her machine was under warranty but she will have been without a machine for almost 2 months when and if it is fixed. This is completely unsatisfactory for a gently used 4 year old washer. The dryer takes forever to dry also. If you are buying Maytag based on how long your grandmothers machine lasted, you will be disappointed! This washer caused so much damage we had to file a homeowners insurance claim!

This is about my model MFI2569VEB2 refrigerator. It has French doors with bottom pull-out freezer, refrigerator door ice and filtered water dispenser. The delivery person installed the fridge and took off outside plastic and left inside plastic in. It froze everything until I took out the inside plastic. Within the first year, water started shooting out of the top of the fridge. A rubber connector for the icemaker, which was on top of the fridge, had broken. Within 18 months, it freezes everything in the refrigerator, even on the warmest setting. I have to leave it unplugged each night. The icemaker gets big chunks of ice stuck to it and wont let ice out. On top of all of that, the water from the fridge door pours out extremely slowly, this just how they are built.I will have to fix the thing myself and eat the expenses, so to speak. I bought the Maytag because Samsung had poor reviews. No matter how fancy you want your refrigerator to be, and how nice you want it to look in your kitchen, stick to the basics. The fewer bells and whistles, the more reliable.

I am writing to tell you the dishwasher sold to my family malfunctioned as a result of an apparent design flaw. I also ended up wasting an entire day for a service person who never arrived. On October 14, 2009, my family bought a Maytag Dishwasher (model #MDBH979AWW) from Home Depot. It had run beautifully until last week, when the left-hand side of the control panel went dead. I then called the Maytag service number (800-688-9900) listed in the instruction manual and scheduled an appointment with the A&E Factory Service vendor for the following Friday (July 6th, 2012) between 8:00AM and 12:00PM. Around 12:30PM, no one had arrived, so I called again. I was told by the agent that the technician was en route and would arrive at my home in forty five minutes. At 2PM, still nobody arrived. I rang again when I was then informed that my name had been strangely kicked out of the system and made available for a reschedule. Wanting to stick with a Maytag-approved business, I went ahead and scheduled the next earliest appointment available, Monday, July 9, 2012. The technician from A&E Factory Service that actually did show up reported that the entire control panel had to be replaced at a cost of $281.48. Interestingly, he added that he had seen other Maytag dishwashers with this exact same problem and recommended that I wait until the water settled before adding extra dishes during a cycle since water apparently leaks into the electronics via a small gap on the top of the inside of the door. Of course, there is nothing in the instructions warning against such.I chose to fix the machine since I didnt have the money to purchase a new one. Are your dishwashers designed to last only a few years? I truly believe that I have been duped by Maytag since this problem resulted from a design flaw. I am asking you to please look into these matters and correct any wrongdoing that you see fit. Copies of receipts for the dishwasher purchase and service repair are enclosed.

I purchased the Maytag MDB7749SBM dishwasher just over 2 years ago. After owning for 1.5 years, the control board malfunctioned. After discussions with Maytag customer service that began in late December 2014, it was finally repaired in February 2015, with the control board being completely replaced. Within just a few months the dishwasher again fails. The first time, it would not stop running. This time, it will not run at all. I called customer service today (August 1, 2015) and they expect me to pay for the repair.It is easy to Google and find multiple review sites that indicate hundreds of consumers have similar problems, but Maytag will not acknowledge any issue, as the customer service rep indicated today (she said her information showed no recalls). Within two years I am now faced with paying $600+ for a dishwasher for a second time. This is terrible customer service on Maytags part. They have lost my business and I am warning consumers on every platform I have.

The washing machine is rusting and Maytag refuses to take care of their inferior product and obvious inferior materials used, and also inferior workmanship.

Maytag is no longer a brand well designed for longevity. Dishwasher, 3 years old. Wash sequence lights start acting up and cannot select the normal sequence. Called to schedule a service call. Maytag service person unaware of any issue. Was informed a service call will cost $99 minimum and provide 15 minutes of diagnostics, $29 for each subsequent 15 minutes. $299.00 max. (All CND $). Those rates added to new parts and it would not be cost effective to repair a $600 washer. If this washer gets replaced, it will not be with a Maytag.

Purchased this Maytag dishwasher from a local Home Depot in Feb. 2014, no problems until now in late July 2015 (about 18 months). The control panel is not responding. Start/Resume light is off, pressing it doesnt seem to do anything. Cancel light is off, pressing it does trigger the cancel drain process. Wash Cycle choices either dont respond, or for 2 of the choices engage an incorrect cycle. Option choices dont respond.Delay light comes on when an incorrect cycle choice displays but stays at 2 hours, can not be toggled off or to a different delay length. Holding Control Lock or Delay for 3 seconds doesnt seem to clear the circuit board logic. Problem began with the Cycle choice buttons defaulting to Rinse Only about three days ago. I assumed user error so let that cycle run, then was able to choose a different cycle (cant remember which one) which also completed. But since then the control panel behaves not at all or incorrectly as described above. Seems to be a common Maytag control board/panel problem, so will probably replace (with something other than Maytag) rather than repair.

The dishwasher would not start July 30 2015. Tried to get service around here and no shops could respond. Called Midsouth Distributors for circuit board. They did not have one but would order and gave me the part # W10595570 based on the Model # MDB7749SBW3. Hoping could find one quicker somewhere else. Ordered one overnight from Sears and planned to replace the board by myself. However, I noticed the flat wire with 14 wires in the ribbon cable had brown spots. From my experience in the electrical systems, I realized this must be shorting out the start signal to the dishwasher logic controller. Sure enough, after scraping this off with a sharp knife, I was able to start my dish washer.My previous MAYTAG lasted 20 years. I bought this one in February 2014 at Home Depot. The design for the electrical controls is obviously very poor as testified by so many angry owners. MAYTAG should be required to replace all these control panels with a improved design at their cost. I hope this obvious poor design of a part gets attention in the United States and ConsumerAffairs will help us. I have called 1-800-688-9900 and registered with MAYTAG a complaint about this poor design.

We had an old Maytag that we loved but Judy wore it out. Bought the new Maytag & dont like it at all. Takes forever to wash 1 load & never enough water in tub to clean anything. Cant regulate water level, time or cycles. Hate it but what can you do?

A pure piece of junk this wash machine is. It is more of a merry go round than a wash machine. I do not understand how it can be called energy efficient. All it does is spin and spin and clothes come out as beautifully dirty as they were loaded. If you make the mistake of putting a few extra clothes (machine calls itself a large capacity), clothes bunch up and one has to pull them apart. The bleach dispenser was used as one would use a bleach dispenser. However it is all rusted. I had bought extended warranty from Lowes but Lowes did not honor the warranty saying rust was a cosmetic issue. Yet when Lowes sold the extended warranty, they did not specify cosmetics were not covered. It is not even cosmetic. It simply is cheap enamel paint.I have used 200 dollar wash machines but never have I experienced such a horrible and annoying product. I will try one more time to see if Maytag will help out with the rust issue. If not, I will simply cut my losses and buy a regular cheap machine. Maytag should be ashamed of itself. I bought a Maytag because I thought they made the best machines!!! Oh! Well, maybe they did at one time.

Bought a refrigerator from Home Depot in November 2012 for a cost of $1,647.48. In August 2013 it stops making ice day 1, stops cooling & it is running nonstop, all lights on display go out day 2. Called Home Depot & was given another number to call, called that number was told someone would be out next day to look at it. Also told my warranty would expire in November & I needed to buy another warranty. Maytag customer service was very rude. If their product was any good why do I have to pay extra for another warranty. A $1,647.48 refrigerator that only lasts 9 months, REALLY!!! Do not purchase Maytag appliances if you dont want to lose your money. Shame on Home Depot for not standing behind their merchandise. If you have a problem while warranty is in effect, Home Depot should replace product.

Maytag Bravos XL HE MVWB725BW. Washer was fantastic at first. Then about at 14 months old, the spin cycle starting making loud noises. Called Maytag, they promptly dispatched a repair service. The estimate to fix the washer was $531. The repair man stated Maytag does NOT seal the bearings from the factory. They only rely on a rubber washer, poor design. Maytag was unwilling to help with a washer with their name on it that failed at 14 months in any shape or fashion. She mentioned that Maytag has a 2-10 warranty on the motor only (which is non-existent, its electromagnetic). This will be the last Maytag that I ever intend to purchase.

I have a dishwasher that would randomly leave chunks of food on dishes, above and beyond not working and would take entirely too long to clean the dishes. This silly thing would run for hours but still produce dishes that were clumped with food. The local Maytag could have cared less. They said that it was the wrong detergent or hard water or we have not pre-cleaned enough. I am taking the old dishwasher to the range for proper disposal as a backstop, and buying something not made by imbeciles.

I have had Maytags for 20 years and never have been disappointed before I bought the Centennial and it is junk. It doesnt even put enough water in to wash the clothes. After it breaks, I will never buy Maytag again. When did you guys start going down the drain literally? My clothes do not get cleaned. I live in the country and we all get dirty. I, like SO many other people, am experiencing problems with a relatively new Maytag dishwasher. Mine is Model MDBH979SAB1. I have owned the dishwasher for 4 years but use it 6 months of the year and, because I live alone, maybe twice a week. In effect, it has the equivalent of less than a year of normal use. My problem is the same as countless other people. I can tell from how it behaves that it needs a new control board. I find little comfort in the fact that I one of several thousand people experiencing a problem with a newer Maytag appliance. What concerns me, after reading many negative reviews and seeing Maytags response, is that Maytag does not seem to care. We need to get the word out. We need a massive boycott of Maytag. We need to hit them where it hurts: in their bottom line. Since they seem to be content to continue to put out defective products, the only way to protect consumers is to put Maytag out of business.

I wish that I had looked up reviews before purchasing my washer 6 months ago! No matter which setting I use, the washer never fills up with enough water!! I have pulled clothes out that havent even gotten wet, due to not enough water in machine! All due to the government regulated water levels on the sensors!!!! So, I had my plumber put in hot and cold water faucets, then he put a short Y hose on, so this way I can add water to the machine.... The only thing is, you have to wait for the machine to fill with what it thinks is enough water to get your load clean.... stop the washer, then add the water you need. But if it reaches a certain point, it will automatically start draining. So you have to watch and make sure you stop adding the water, before reaching that point!

I bought this washer on 6-29-14, should have returned it within my 30 days but kept thinking it will get better, NO. I actually like to use water to wash my clothes!! It doesnt even get all the clothes wet when using on the bulky/or any other setting. Very disappointed in Maytag!!! Washer for sale, very cheap even though I paid $500 with warranty.

Maytag Model #MBR2258XES refrigerator purchased May 2014 from Home Depot. Problem #1: Freezing in refrigerator compartment (frozen vegetables). Problem #2: Water leakage on floor from defrost. Wood floor is/has expanded and may now be ruined. This model is now discontinued. Looking into contacting an attorney.

We purchased a washing machine, top loading washer model MVWC415EW1 on 9/2/2015 and the machine did not work right. 11/2/2015 is stopped working all together. It will not wash the clothes. The repair man says we need a new cold water valve. Maytag says it does not have the part to fix the machine. Period. Now we have a new machine with a 10 year warranty which does us no good as Maytag does not have the parts to fix. So it is back to a laundry mat until we can save enough to buy a new machine from anyone but Maytag .

We currently have had our Maytag washing machine for approximately 15 years. The first thing we noticed was how user friendly it was. Also, the options that came with our washing machine met all of our needs. The second thing that we were excited about was how quiet it was. Our previous washing machine could be heard at the back of the house and was constantly out of balance. The third thing we noticed was how much cleaner our clothes were. Our clothes smelled better and had less wear thus saving us money. Speaking of which, the machine is an energy saver. One of the most significant attributes I can attest to is how reliable it is. There has never been an issue that required repair services. I am sure our Maytag will be in service for years to come. c

Run away from this piece of junk machine AND company as fast as you can! I bought this set Oct 12 and by March 14 it was grinding/whining during the agitation cycle. I have been in contact through various forms with Maytag and they do not care! They first contacted me to review them and when I reviewed them very unfavorably they emailed me and this is what they said: Our staff has read your review and values your contribution even though it did not meet all our website guidelines. Thanks for sharing, and we hope to publish next time! All I did was say exactly what happened.After that I went to their website to see what kind of reviews they were getting and lo and behold their rating is 4.4 out of 5. Of course it is when you simply cherry pick the best and plant a few lesser rated ones. I simply do not have the funds to replace what I thought was a quality product, nor am I sure I want to repair it as it doesnt clean clothes. I hate having been placed in this predicament by a greedy, slimy corporation whose only interest in me is profits.

Purchased the Maytag Aqualift self-cleaning oven and this feature doesnt work at all. I would have never have made this purchase if I knew the oven would not self clean. This technology with the water in the bottom to self clean is pathetic! I thought maybe it wasnt working and called for a repair since it was under warranty. The service man told me not to expect it to clean like a regular self-cleaning oven. But I complained that it did nothing at all! So now I have a self-cleaning oven that I have to clean myself!

My dishes come out super clean and I love it, even when there is calcium build-up around the filter. Thanks to Maytag and their great technology. You cant beat Maytag.

Great dishwasher. The dishwasher heat cycle doesnt dry the dishes but I havent read the instructions yet. This is a large dishwasher holding lots of dishes. Dishes are clean after the cycle. Washes lots of dishes at the same time. Has handy utensil pull out to put away your utensils after dry.

The washer does not get the laundry clean. It never has. I use only HE soap. I have changed soaps several times and still no change. I have been very disappointed with it. Maytag has been advertised as a good washer but the Bravos is not.

I purchased a Maytag refrigerator from a local business (Decker and Sons in Grand Rapids, Michigan). The fridge is a French door style with the freezer on the bottom and a water dispenser/ice maker in the left door. In the 19 months weve owned the unit weve had to have service three times. One time for the freezer door not shutting correctly, and two times because the refrigerator portion quit cooling (freezer was fine). Both times it was due to something breaking that defrosts the area behind the vegetable drawers.Both times all of our food went bad. Second time it took almost two weeks to fix (Diamond was the repair service). Now, after the service, the left door doesnt shut correctly. The quality of the unit is so questionable that I hesitate to fill it back up with food. Its just plain old junk. Luckily, we purchased a five year warranty when we purchased it...but we thought the service would be performed by the shop where we bought it, but its farmed out to other repair providers.

Neptune washer and dryer, an all around good buy. Low water use and large capacity for the pair. Bought the pair in May of 2001 and have only had one, very minor, service call. Buying online usually proves to be the easiest and cheapest way to go. Economical delivery costs. Noise and vibration and overall solid construction. Dancing washers can be a real cause for being a deal breaker. Auto shut off for balance is a must. Cleanliness of wash and wear caused by washing and drying. Large capacity and multiple cycle selections for both the washer and the dryer are necessary.

SO SO disappointed. I thought by purchasing a Maytag washer and dryer that I was purchasing quality products. Not so. After only 3 yrs, the dryer is broken. It needs a new heating element assembly at $139 plus a visit from the technician and installation. In total, it will cost about $300 to repair. The washer is slowly going also. It takes about 2 minutes before it starts. Never used to do that. The technician told me that these do not last and that the computer is likely to go in another couple of years which will cost $400 to repair. I called Maytag to see what they could do for me. They offered the part at 1/2 price but insisted on another diagnosis even though Ive already had one. That along with their labor cost was going to cost more than anyone else. So no more Maytag products for me.

We bought the Maytag Washer and Dryer set about two years ago from Home Depot. We have had to have the washer repaired several times in that two years, most recently for a cracked mother board controller unit. The same day we had to have the washer repaired, we also had to have the dryer repaired. Lint and dust is not properly filtered out by the filter and accumulates inside the dryer where it should not be, up against the gas heating unit. The repairman indicated that it was badly scorched and that we were lucky it had not caught on fire. Another customer of his had the same unit, which burst into flames one day when she had left the house with the dryer going, causing a house fire. The quality of these items is highly questionable. Having to spend nearly $600 to replace a cracked mother board only two years after purchase simply is unacceptable.

I purchased the Maytag dishwasher a little over two years ago (MDB6759AWQ0). This was the first Maytag product I bought and it is definitely the last one! It was more expensive, but because of Maytags commercials on what good products they had, I thought it would last longer and work better. Boy, was I wrong. When it was installed, it was loud. I brought this to the attention of Maytag. I was told there was nothing that they could do. Repair people were sent to my home several times to see if the noise could be fixed and unfortunately, it could not. This is the loudest dishwasher that I have ever had. I should have stayed with the same brand that was over 10 years old that died! Now the control panel blew out and will cost over $300 to have it fixed. After reviewing the numerous complaints that you have on your dishwasher with the control panels not working, I would think Maytag would be more financially responsible in helping the people that have your products that no longer work after being less than three years old. Just a heads up, Maytag, I will be replacing instead of fixing and not with another Maytag product!

I am also frustrated with Maytag for the same exact problem... The control panel and the dishwasher not working just after our year warranty went out. I purchased this product because we had a good experience with a Maytag Dishwasher lasting about 20 years, only to get fooled that the quality is not there any longer. This seems like BAD business on Maytag, Whirlpool, and Home Depot! How can we get an official complaint to someone who can fix this? Another example of big businesses that do not care to take care of customers! Why would a company like Home Depot continue to support this business!!

I inherited this Maytag washer, so it has been around a very long time (I have had it for 18 years). It still runs quite well, has 3 levels of wash/rinse, 3 cycles to wash in. Both of us...me and the washer are still kickin together. Highly recommend Maytag.

After having a Maytag washer/dryer set that lasted 20 years, I decided to go with Maytag again. Big mistake! Centennial Dryer has already broke down and the parts, before the overcharged shipping, was over $100. I wish I had done some research. Maytag is no longer Maytag, it was purchased by Whirlpool. Hence the lack of quality. Not only that, I dislike doing business with heartless companies that just close shop & let loyal employees go while paying upper management fat severance pay. Then Whirlpool changed the vested lifetime benefits of the Maytag retirees. Will not buy another Maytag appliance and will never purchase a Whirlpool product.

Maytags reputation for quality is gone. Our Neptune washer has had mold, door lock seized up and wouldnt open, and now our dryer drum is cracked. Exaggerating your products reliability is one thing - this borders on corporate fraud.

I purchased 4 new Maytag appliances as part of a kitchen update. The dishwasher was the first to fail, less than a year after being installed. The control panel stopped working (random lights would come on, always different from the one being pressed, and frequently incompatible selections such as Rinse Only and Sanitize. PC Richards sent a repairman with a new part, no charge. A few weeks ago, it happened again. PC Richards says that replacement parts are only under warranty for 90 days, so now the repair is on me. I could pay or repair it myself or pay PC Richards to do it. Thank goodness I am handy, but I still have to pay for the part. Now I am reading that the MDB7749 series has a history of this problem. When is Maytag going to own up and issue free repairs? I certainly will never buy Maytag again, as both the range and the refrigerator also have common problems. Luckily, I paid for the 10-year service agreement on those appliances.

Maytag washer, model# mvwp575gw0, which is under warranty. This washer is less than one year old. Within the first couple months the transmission leaked oil and service tech had to replace the transmission. A few months later – another problem, clothes wet after spin cycle - tech told me the agitator base and/or couple parts need replaced. Quality control appears to have been lacking at the factory when this washer was made. This house has only one person presently. The washer was not abused.

My Maytag top loading washer, 4 years old, stopped working in the middle of a wash cycle. Registered Maytag repairman did a diagnosis and finally identified the problem with the control board. The cost of the control board would have cost almost as much as the original wash machine especially since I had to pay for the current service call and labor (to diagnose the problem). After having read a number of other reviews from dissatisfied customers, I will not buy another Maytag product. I was under the impression that Maytag produced a superior appliance but was disappointed by this experience.

Purchased a Maytag dishwasher (Model #MDB7749SAW1) in January of 2013, installed in February. A little over a year later the control panel went out. I called Maytag and they were kind enough to pay for the part and I had to pay for the service. Now it is July of 2015 and the control panel is going out again. I called Maytag directly and talked with a service representative and the best they could do for me was for $269.95 they would have it fixed and I would have a one year warranty as well. Based on the pattern the warranty is not going to help as it goes out just after a year. For only having it 2 1/2 years it is becoming a very expensive dishwasher. There should be a recall on this control panel. Very disappointed.

I purchased a Maytag Neptune 24” front load washer (MAH2400a) and 24” electric dryer (MDE2400AYW) on October 26, 2005 from Sears in Chesterfield, MO. In April 2011, the drum in the washer began to slush and grind. Water also began pooling around the machine. I called Sears and arranged for service repairman. Before he even looked inside the washer, the repairman wanted to give me a coupon for $50.00 off a new washing machine from Sears. After my insistence, he finally opened the washer and told me I needed a new drum. Because of the Sears repairman’s reluctance to look at the machine, I had another appliance repairman review it and was told that the water pumps for this model were defective. Any loose items the size of coins collected inside the pump and damaged it. I paid $340.00 to get the pump replaced. Ten months later, the dryer started smoking. After scheduling a service call, I was told the heating element burnt out and it would cost $360.00 to replace. It was then I noticed that the washer was leaking again. I took the front base cover off and saw mold growing under the machine. A little research uncovered that this set of machines has had many dangerous problems, from mold to catching on fire. There was a class action lawsuit filed and won by consumers in April 2005, yet I was sold this model in October 2005. I feel both Maytag and Sears knowingly sold me a defective and dangerous product. I would like to be refunded for this set.

Purchased a Maytag Bravos top loading washing machine in Sept. 2015. First time we used it the machine vibrated enough to shake the walls. We thought the balance was off. Called Lowes (installers) and they came out and said it was level. There was something fishy about the grinding type noise it made. Also noticed that in spite of all the noise that the clothes essentially stayed in the same spot while the basket moved. Sometimes the clothes on top never got completely wet or rotated through the wash water. Called Lowes again and they looked at the machine and said it needed replaced. But the 90 time period for replacement had passed. Lowes said it would be repaired. A technician came and replaced the basket, saying it might have been out of round. He left, we used the washing machine and it was worse. He came back an hour later and talked with Whirlpool and they said there might be something wrong with a gear. Hes going to replace the gearbox sometime. Meanwhile we are stuck with a washer that makes a lot of noise, vibrates terribly and doesnt appear to do much washing. If noise equated to cleanliness then it would be fantastic. But had we known about the noise or the many complaints we would never have made this purchase. Whatever happened to Maytag quality? Bet that Maytag repairman isnt lonely anymore.

I bought a Maytag dishwasher less than two years ago. The Maytag repairman just informed me that the control panel, the control board and the harness were burnt and needed to be replaced with parts costing over $300. I said, No, thanks. I paid him the $99 service call fee and called Maytag to see if they would help. Nope, they pretty much said, tough luck.

Fridge leaked all over our floor and ruined it! Very unhappy! When we open the freezer we find a sheet of ice on the bottom. We have to keep a towel on the floor so we dont slip and get hurt. I finally get a new kitchen and the fridge is ruining it! Yuck.

We purchased a new Maytag dishwasher last year when we purchased our new home. All the other appliances were Whirlpool. This dishwasher runs forever. We have huge electric bills and I am sure this is a contributing factor. We purchased it from Lowes. They have sent out two technicians who say there is nothing wrong with it. One said it was because it was in an island. The other that our water is not hot enough. He turned the water heat up and now you have to warn people using it to be careful or they will get burned. No wonder the Maytag repairman is so bored. He knows the appliances he services are junk and doesnt bother. Take my advice. Buy ANYTHING BUT Maytag!

We purchased our Maytag Neptune washer and dryer in 2006. Months after our purchase, we tried every HE detergent we could find to see if our towels would smell fresh. Nothing we have tried has worked. I just went to Maytags web site. I found out there was a recall on this washing machine due to the mold on the door gasket. Why didnt they send me a recall notice so this could be corrected with a refund or something?

We purchased the Maytag dishwasher model # MDB4949SDZ almost one year ago. Since the beginning there has been a smell to our drinking glasses when we put drink in them...smells like boiled eggs. We have always used Cascade dishwasher pods, but suddenly our dishes were being left with a gritty feeling film on them and I had to run them under water to rinse them after taking them out of the dishwasher. This model showed on Lowes website that it has a food grinder, but it cannot even get rid of a single kernel of corn that might get left on a plate. After a load is completely washed and you open the door, there is a strong smell of detergent. If you run an EMPTY dishwasher with NO soap it creates an abundance of suds like there is still soap all in the tub!!The repairman came out and called Maytag and they ran a diagnostic check on it and it said everything was okay. He said to run a cup of white vinegar through it and I did. It didnt help. Still lots of suds being produced when I run a cycle with NO dishes and NO soap!!! He said the food grinder doesnt actually grind or dispose of small particles of food, just grease!! What?!!!! We had to PAY $92 for the service call even though it is still under warranty just because the repairman and the Maytag guy on the phone couldnt figure out why this dishwasher is a hunk of junk!!!! Also, the top rack has clips on the side to lower and raise the rack. The outer sides of the top rack will only hold smaller glasses because these clips get in the way. I hate this dishwasher so much!!! My 18 year old Kenmore ran like a charm until Hurricane Harvey flooded our house. I will never buy a Maytag appliance again!!!

I wrote the below to Maytag on their FaceBook page, of course havent heard anything back from them. Adding this on since I forgot about it, I have dogs and wash their blankets often, not that theyre dirty just for the dog smell. I have to wash them on the sanitize cycle which is an 1.5 hours long because if I use the normal cycle which is only 43 minutes they come out smelling exactly the same way they went in. I saw someone else post that their mothers front loader doesnt put in enough water so Im wondering if thats what happens to mine. So wish I would have checked the reviews before buying, thought I was getting a great washer buying Maytag.This is what I wrote on their FB page: I bought a Maytag front loading washer on 5/10/16 which was delivered and set up on 5/13/16. On Wednesday 10/19/16 it stopped working, so just over 5 months from the day it was installed. I called your company on 10/20/16 for repairs, they couldnt get here until today, 10/24, so 5 days with no washer. The customer service rep had all the details on what happened and Im sure passed them along to the repair company. He ran diagnostics, said it was the drain pump which was obvious even to me, but claimed to not have one with him even though they were in stock. Cant make it back until Wednesday, so two more days with no washer. He then proceeded to tell me that the dryer had to come off (stacked on top since the washer is a front loader) before he got back, that the warranty wouldnt cover two people coming out. So Im supposed to spend more money to hire someone to come out, take off the dryer and then pay them again to come back and put it back on. I called the customer service department again and was told they dont cover installation which stacking is. She said the warranty doesnt cover stacked units, as far as I can find that isnt stated in the warranty so please let me know where that is stated in writing. So I have a just over 5-month-old washer that needs repair already (bodes well for the future doesnt it??), will be without a washer for almost a week because the repairman didnt bring the most obvious part with him (maybe wanted to be paid for two calls?) and have to pay someone else for installation so it can be fixed. So wheres the Maytag man? I am not a happy customer and will be letting as many people know as possible. Ill be in the market for other new appliances soon, will sure as hell make sure theyre not made by Maytag, Whirlpool et all.

Had this model MDB7749SBM1 for almost 3 years and paid over $700 for it. Thought I was purchasing a good machines. The last few months the control panel pops out and away from the front door panel. Do get it back. You have to unscrew the panel from the door. Inside is all plastic and broken. How can it be broken when it is an area never touched. Every time you open the door after a wash it pops out again. To get it repaired will cost too much. It is a badly designed unit which should have a latch instead of just pulling out.I am so disappointed and will think twice before buying Maytag. I have never had luck with any Maytag dishwasher lasting. At this point I dont know whether to just buy another brand or glue it. We are not keeping our home so I dont want to invest money. Awful machine and I see it is discontinued so there are a lot of complaints. Thanks for sticking us Maytag.

I purchased a Maytag Centennial washer and dryer on February 4th. It was delivered on the 11th. I am dissatisfied with the performance of the washer. I use the same amount of detergent and fabric softener as I did for my 15-year old Maytag washer, but the wash is not as soft as with the old machine. Also, the wash when finished appears to be a lot wetter. What is wrong? What else can I do?

I bought a Maytag side by side fridge freezer in 2010 at a cost of £2000. Having come back from a week away it had entirely defrosted spoiling all the contents. An engineer came to look at it but said the fault was unrepairable so he wrote it off. Maytag (Whirlpool) think that it is perfectly ok for a 5 year old fridge freezer costing two grand should now pack up. I, on the other hand, do not... They offered me £700 of the cost of a new Maytag. Joy! I thought. However, this one does not make ice or have chilled water (the principal reason for buying Maytag in the first place). I was then told that this was the ONLY fridge freezer in the entire Maytag or Whirlpool range. Is there nothing else you can do to help? I pleaded. No was the reply. The moral of this story is going posh on an American Fridge freezer is not guarantee that you will get the after sales service that the price would suggest.

I am so fed up with my Bravos XL washing machine, that I felt compelled to vent and see if others have the same issue. The first two reviews I read complain of the same thing as I am finding. Some kind of scummy residue on my dark clothes, need to rinse, sometimes soak again to get the residue off. Have tried many different detergents. The guy at the store said try cold water! Yeah right. I use half the amount recommended. We have two boys who play baseball. The seller said this would be a great machine. Id almost consider trying to sell it on Craigslist and buy a good used one with an agitator. Spent a lot of money on a fancy looking machine. Definitely overpriced and overrated. Do not buy this machine!

Have 2 fridges (one regular and the other is a side-by-side, both were bought in 2006 at Future Shop. The small one is not freezing and the side-by-side ($2,200) is busted too (compressor wont start....). How can Maytag say that their product are reliable on TV??? A Fridges compressor should last at least 15 years !! Maytag, you should at least have the decency to pay for the compressor!

I have owned two Maytag washers. Top load and front load. They have been the biggest piece of garbage I have ever purchased. My current front loader eats and destroys clothing. I have had to throw out numerous clothes as the machine simply destroys them. I have also had numerous problems with Maytag washers. The wiring is garbage. Couple yrs after purchase the washer shorted out. Im handy so I took it apart. Discovered a broken wire. I had to rewire a new connection with as. The wire used in manufacturing is so thin its line a strand of hair. Now it leaks under the drum. I had to place a container under the drum to collect the water. My other purchase was a top load. The lint was just a nightmare. Maytag sent me some contraption after numerous complaints that was suppose to assist in the collection of lint. Again, a piece of garbage. DONT BUY. Save your MONEY.

I bought a Maytag MDB8959SBS2 December 2013 with several major appliances for our new home while they were all deeply discounted and bundled with cabinets etc from Lowes. Moved in June 2014. Said dishwasher crapped out last month (May 2015). Buttons all fouled up, push normal and 6 other lights come on. Tried different resets, reboots, power down all no good. I ordered parts to repair, control board, control box, no luck. No warranty because purchase date was December 2013. This thing didnt last 11 months of use, and its just my wife and I running maybe 2 loads per week. I will certainly do more research and buy a foreign make/model or at least one not made by Maytag or affiliated brand. Unfortunately this supposed Made in the USA sticker sure doesnt stand for quality with this company.

Very disappointed with my 2014 purchase of model MDB8959SBS3 dishwasher. In fact it is no longer in service. We used the dishwasher approximately twice a day. The wheels on the pull out racks starting falling apart in the first 6 months. Then the soap dispenser failed. It would not shut. We replaced both the wheels and the dispenser only to find ourselves with the exact same problems in a matter of months. My hubby got really good at fixing both of these items. The final straw was earlier this year as when we turned it on the motor/water pump started making a screeching sound. Never had to replace an appliance that was only four years old in my lifetime. Just very disappointed with the quality of Maytags dishwasher.

We purchased a Maytag Bravos Quiet Series 300 in June 09. The dryer timer has malfunctioned since shortly after purchase, it will add time near the end of the cycle, sometimes as much as an hour or more. We have had factory authorized repair firms (tried several) attempt to fix the problem both during the original warranty and extended warranty periods. They replaced the mother board twice and the moisture sensor on another occasion. All to no avail. Maytag has been worse than useless in the whole situation, and now will do nothing. It seems our only choice is to live with it, keep replacing parts, hasnt helped yet, or buy a new dryer. You can bet it will not be a Maytag!This situation is dangerous, if left unattended when the malfunction occurs the clothes and interior of the dryer get extremely hot. It is a potential fire hazard.

Purchased a Maytag Dryer, Washer and Oven Range in December 2011. Both washer and oven were serviced within 1 year under warranty. The dryer stopped working in August 2013, not under warranty. Total cost to repair is $450. Called Maytag to see if they could reduce the repair cost, answer... NO. Maytag spends millions of dollars in advertising... Built Strong to Last Long but they cant spend several hundreds to keep customers. Will never buy a Maytag, Whirlpool, KitchenAid or any other related company product ever. Their motto should be Built Weak to Last Weeks.

The washer 4 years ago we had the control panel replaced at our expense. Now, control panel is going out again. Also this summer I took the dryer apart to snug up some screws that had come lose, that were scraping the inside as the dry ran. I own a range and a dishwasher Maytag brand but will not buy another Maytag unit, even if they are built by my union brothers and sisters.

March 7th. My refrigerator ice door started flapping and the lights flickering. The next day it quit working. I called Maytag. They said they would have someone come fix it the next week. The repair service people called me back the same day to tell me that the part I needed has been on back order for 2 months. I called Maytag back. They told me to wait a week they put out an all alert for the part. I called back in a week. Now they tell me its 2 months. This is ridiculous and a huge inconvenience. I will not buy anything again from Maytag. $2,800.00 refrigerator should last a minimum of 20 years. This should be a recall. Thousands of people are having this problem.

Bravos XL Like so many others Ive read, this is a terrible product. Washer constantly goes off on unbalanced load. After 14 months, the plastic tub disintegrated. Maytag tried to sell me the service and extend a warranty for $300 also. Just like all the other reviews. Wow, has Maytag gone downhill.

Purchased MBF1958 model refrigerator July 2012. Has had 3 major problems. 2nd time the compressor has failed. For over 1 month have been playing phone tag and given the runaround by Maytag. Never return calls when promised and get a different story with each person I speak with. After 2 service calls to diagnose a bad compressor, $69 service fee, two weeks for the replacement to come in, the third serviceman decides this is not the problem and the refrigerator cannot be fixed. Maytag has once again offered to SELL me a replacement at a discounted price. Do I really want to subject myself to the HORRENDOUS MAYTAG EXPERIENCE again?

My disappointment with this washer (Bravos xl) is that it smells moldy and musty no matter what I do. I clean with affresh when light comes on, leave the top open, etc. I have tried cleaning it with baking soda and vinegar poured down the detergent opening. Water does not drain from the bleach or softener openings. I have resorted to using baking soda in every single wash and adding an extra rinse to keep my clothes from smelling. The laundry room always smells. I would go back to an agitator in a heart beat if this hadnt been so expensive. DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE.

We purchased our Maytag Bravos Top Load washer 3 years ago from Home Depot. I have to admit this is the worst washer ever. The clothes does not appear to get clean enough for the amount of time it takes for the clothes to wash. The white clothes look dingy after a wash that I have gotten to the point of pouring an additional amount of bleach in the wash tub. The amount of water that is in the tub is next to nothing, I have to either add additional water or place no more than 20 pieces of clothing in the wash. This is sad and I regret that I wasted my money on this product and I do not recommend it. As soon as I get some extra money to throw away, this washer is going out with the bulk trash.

In 2011 we purchased a complete appliance grouping at Home Depot by Maytag to include the dishwasher. For some reason we neglected to purchase an extended warranty on the dishwasher. Lo and behold in 2013 our control panel went bad and the cost to repair it was almost as much as purchasing a new dishwasher. Thinking this was a fluke we were dumb enough to purchase another Maytag from Home Depot due to the loyalty made in the USA. Well here we are 2015 not even a full two years later the control panel started acting funny a few days ago and yesterday just plain old QUIT. Fortunately we were wise enough to purchase an extended warranty plan on this dishwasher so tomorrow we will be calling the repairman. Unfortunately Maytag has never solved the problem that has been occurring for at least 5 years and continues to sell this product to unsuspecting schmucks like us who try to be true to the made in the USA slogan. Bought a Maytag Bravo washer, suppose to be the best of its kind from Home Depot. Should of known I was in trouble when it took them over four months to deliver it. It lasted two years before the bearing went on the machine. Whirlpool/Maytag was of no help. Ironically, the machine Im using today is my old Maytag I bought 17 years ago. The repair cost for the new machine was about 50% of the cost of the machine purchase.

Maytag Bravo was making loud noise in the Spin cycle. Ordered new bearing, shaft and parts from Amazon. Also had to order the Bearing tool, cost more than the bearing parts. Total cost $145. Watch a youtube video on replacement, took about 3.5 hrs by myself. Biggest problem I had was lifting the washer up over the drain pan it is in. Washer is on the 2nd floor.

We bought a new dishwasher 2 years ago. Top of the line Maytag Model #MDB8959SBW3 $749 plus tax. We bought this one because they told us what a great 10 year warranty it had. Found out that is a lie. The only thing the 10 year warranty covers is the stainless steel tub, the racks and chopper blade. The stop button on the control panel (circuit board) quit working and the dishwasher wouldnt start. When I called Maytag they said So sorry. It broke so soon, but that is not covered.We were told by a repair shop that Maytag has had nothing but problems with their control panel and the control panel part alone is $150 plus tax plus installation. Our old Maytag lasted 13 years and was still running great, but needed to be replaced because the racks were rusting out. I wish I would have kept the old one. I will never buy Maytag again since it is now made by Whirlpool. If Maytag is having so many problems with their control panel, they should be recalling them.

I would say you have plenty of options when choosing a color for your dishwasher. You can choose black or stainless. Try one today you wont be disappointed. I load plenty of dishes into the space. It has extra pockets for little things and it has plenty of hooks and hangers to use for bigger cycles. Kenmore Dishwasher runs great. Very efficient and cleans the tough stains better than any dishwasher Ive ever used. I would recommend this to anyone looking to buy a dishwasher. Of all the dishwashers I researched at Lowes and Home Depot and Sears and Ace and other local stores, the Maytag was the lowest price with all the features I wanted.

Leaking water and puddles in front (each side) of refrigerator. Purchased from Home Depot on 12-20-2011... After doing a search on the internet I found that this is a common problem with the Maytag refrigerator. This model is a two door with ice maker on left door and freezer on bottom of unit. My washing machine was noisy from the start. We had recently purchased a new fridge and were told when we questioned its noise thats just the way they are. So we didnt question the noisy washer as we should have. The noise got louder as time went on and at the 18 month mark, it was so bad, we had someone look at it. The washer had never cleaned as well as expected, but again, we were too busy to follow up. The repairman advised that the bearing and tub needed to be replaced! Augh! $450 for parts $300 for labour! I contacted Maytag/Whirlpool and was advised they would go good for the parts, I would have to pay labour. Not being terribly impressed, did a bit of research and was told it was worth fixing. As it was technically out of warranty, I was lucky to have them pay for parts. Took 6 weeks to get part. In that time, had questions about delay, etc... at one point was yelled at on the phone by Melissa from Whirlpool as I asked to speak to a supervisor. So fun :( First part comes and it is defective, luckily there was another one in Vancouver, so only an additional 4 day wait. My machine is now fixed. It is extremely quiet and cleans very well. Suffice to say, it was defective from the start. So, Ive gotten to pay an extra $300 over retail to have a working machine! Lucky me! Repairman also advised that he recommends everyone to purchase the additional 5 year warranty as the manufacturers are now only making machines with a 7 year life expectancy and I was VERY lucky in the beginning to get someone to even talk to me after the 1 year mark.

We purchased a refrigerator in December 2013. It quit working less than 8 months later. The company contracted to repair it made us wait 4 days for service; they did not repair the unit. We are now expected to wait another 4 days for them to return. STAY AWAY from Maytag!!!

I’m 41 years old and finally had my first new washing machine. Four days later, while my 11 year old had the stomach flu, it died. Not impressed. Apparently the delivery guys left a note on our file saying there was a defect on our washer and that we needed to contact Maytag. This was news to us when we called The Brick today. I hope they didn’t knowingly sell us a defective washer. Alas, we have to wait until Monday with pukey sheets in the washer.

I had to replace a washer & dryer which was destroyed in a fire. We lost everything. I was hoping a new set would last me many years. Boy, I was wrong. Maytag Bravo washer is the worst by far. I havent even had it 4 years. I had a plumber in 4 times already. The pump keeps breaking; it doesnt drain properly. It appears that dirt is entering the clean laundry and the laundry has to be washed again. It looks like I have to research for a new washer. It wont be a Maytag. They are thieves!

We purchased a Maytag French Door Refrigerator with a bottom freezer in 2010. About 6 months ago, we noticed water leaking out the front of the refrigerator. We recently called Maytag service and were told that the refrigerator pan was too small and they would order it and have the independent contractor replace it. The woman I spoke with said that Maytag has been having a lot of complaints about this as the pan put in the refrigerator was too small. In my opinion - an obvious design flaw. The service tech came to our house today with a larger drain...not a pan as I had been told by Maytag (Maytag is the one who ordered the drain to be put in). We ended up paying an unexpected $209 (Pan vs. drainage replacement is a lot more expensive). Needless to say, we are upset for having to pay $209 for a Maytag design flaw as well as not being told upfront what the correct part was that was being ordered. We called Maytag and were told there was nothing they could do because its not on the recall list (yet) and because we didnt buy the extended warranty. We are feeling like suckers and will never buy another Maytag.

We bought a Maytag refrigerator bottom freezer at Home Depot in 2012/10/15. A few months ago, a sheet of ice formed on the bottom of the freezer. Since the warranty expired, I decided to look at the problem. Now, I am a mechanical person who usually can fix just about anything mechanical. I used a hair dryer to defrost the freezer and saw that the drainage hole was frozen over. I took the entire freezer apart, cleaned the drainage channel, the drainage hole and reassembled the freezer. No more than 24 hours later, the drainage hole was covered with 1/4-1/3 thick ice, the drainage hose and the tray were dry, and the bottom of the freezer was coated with ice. This one problem that I could not solve. The design is so poor, the draining water freezes over the hole before it drains. I read some of the consumers complaints and I just want to add that do NOT waste your money on repairmen, or parts from Maytag, the refrigerator is NOT repairable. I will write off my loss of $900 and look for a new refrigerator, but Maytag will never see my money again.

We bought a washer & dryer from Home Depot 2 1/2 years ago. The control board went out on my washer. I called Maytag and they wanted $109 for a diagnostic fee and wouldnt tell me how much the labor would be. A control board costs $350. So by the time all is said and done... the money would be better spent buying a new one. Maytags slogan of dependability lasts is a bunch of hooey. Washers should last more than 2 1/2 years and Maytag should back up their appliances. They just lost a customer.

Maytag Washer and Dryer XL Bravos - The worst machines ever. I have had many washers and dryers and every one of them were good enough to get my clothes clean and dry without wrinkles. This washer Maytag Bravos Washer and Dryerdoes not clean clothes no matter which setting it is on. The dryer does not dry the clothes without wrinkles if it dries them at all. They are only about 6 months old, I have followed the book on usage and it still doesnt help. If I could pick these up and put them at the curb I would. If Maytag would take them back I would return them. I did check online for Lemon laws for appliances and there are laws for the consumers to fight the companies. If and when they contact me I will be sure to mention this to them for what its worth. I think a class action suit might be the answer for all of us consumers. If banding together would help count me in!!!

Purchased a Maytag based on previous models that worked. Now when I do a load of wash, no matter how large or small, the clothes are still wet after the full spin cycle is finished. This has been going on for a few months. There are only two adults so the machine is not in constant use. We have had the machine 9 years and frankly would never buy Maytag again.

We purchased a Maytag front load washing machine and dryer about 5 years ago. The front load washer is completely full of mold even though I have always followed the directions of wiping it out after each wash, leaving the door cracked, washing the machine with Affresh and even trying bleach and vinegar rinses. When I called customer service they refused to do anything about it. Then the dryer stopped working after 5 years and we had to get it serviced. Now, the door has completely come apart, as in every little piece has come off the handle and surrounding door frame. I have never seen anything like this on the oldest of machines and I have taken care of these appliances. I will never buy another Maytag...

I own a Maytag dishwasher - it is a few years old now. I first filed a complaint in 2011. We have had it repaired several times - the control panel keeps breaking. Why is it that my grandmothers old dishwasher worked for 30-40 years and now you are lucky if you can get an appliance that works for a year without breaking? This planned obsolescence is ridiculous. Do not buy Maytag products - hit them where it hurts - in the wallet. They used to build quality products, but not anymore. I contacted the law firm in California that another person had listed as they have started a class action lawsuit. Eppsteiner & Fiorica Attorneys, LLP, at 866-548-8857 - if you are having atrocious problems with your Maytag dishwasher (they mentioned Fridgidaire, too) - because of the control panel, please call. The company wont fix the issue unless they are forced to.

In 2009, we purchased $5,041 worth of Maytag appliances. Three years later, we have had issues with every appliance except the dryer. The washer needed a new motor and circuit board in February 2011. The oven light came on and stayed on because the switch malfunctioned in June 2011. The ice maker in the bottom drawer sprung a leak in February of 2012 and today, the over-the-range microwave stopped working without any sputters or warnings. While I was investigating the possible reasons for my microwaves demise (Im concluding that it is poor craftsmanship!), I found that my dishwasher is on recall. I did not have any problems with that and it is the one appliance that could have started a fire! Maytag appliances will not be bought again by me or anyone I know. They are a huge disappointment and waste of my money!

All I can say is what a mistake. Had a front loader that always smelled and had mold around rubber gasket in door. So, wanted a top loader this time after old GE died. Unbelievable, not enough water to clean clothing. Clothing comes out with some dry spots. And the worse thing is washing black items, tiny particles on black pants, shirts, etc. Think is lint not soap but not sure. You have to rub all over the clothing to try and remove. This washer is 8 months old and I have cleaned it with baking soda and vinegar mixture thinking this would help, it doesnt. The spin cycle sounds like a rocket ship taking off. Lots of banging noises during operation also. I have invested a lot of money thinking Maytag is rated high. It is a pretty grey color with glass top. Well I was fooled, not only the saying looks arent everything for people but its true for washing machines. I have gotten multiple mail from co. wanting me to get extended warranty. Think I will, usually dont, cause I think it wont be reliable. Wish I had my washer from the 70s and 80s. Plain old wringer that got things clean. Just put black pants in dryer on very low heat taken out damp cause I dont dry a lot of my clothing. This seems to have helped to remove stains (soap)/ lint. but, talk about wrinkles, oh boy, this machine has that spin cycle going 100 miles a minute. And if you pick a lower spin speed things come out wet. I actually can say I hate this Maytag Bravo. Things dont come out clean, wrinkles beyond control, very loud. Please folks check out your sites on the internet before buying Maytag.

I purchased this $900 Maytag washer from Home Depot in Oct. 2010. Now, after Ive just paid $129 for a service call through their designated repair service, I was informed it will cost $700 to fix this washer. I use the washer on average of three times a week. Its unbelievable that this type of crap is sold by Home Depot and that Maytag warranties will not cover repair as one year has passed.

Maytag Dishwasher Model # MDB7809AWB2. Part = Console Keypad. We have lived in this home for approximately 4 1/2 years. We purchased a Maytag Dishwasher and had to replace the motherboard in it about 2 months after the warranty ran out. We paid 1/4 of the cost of the dishwasher to get it fixed and I am having the same problem again. I am very dissatisfied with the appliance and I will not pay another $200 to get it fixed. I will never buy another Maytag appliance. Dont buy Maytag!!!

I purchased this washer in April 2017 from H/D. The machine started making funny grinding noise over this weekend. Had a tech come to house to repair. Tech said the insides are stripped, 300 plus in parts to repair and would be weeks to get parts. I called Maytag and they offered to send their own tech to see which parts and if any of them would be under warranty at a price of 109. I explained that I had an expectation that a washer would last longer than 31 months and spending another 109 dollars would be bad money after good with the 80 dollars for my tech. Maytag said take it or leave it. I am going to Lowes for a GE machine. DO NOT BUY THIS. IT WONT LAST. I will admit, Tina from Tennesse, the Maytag customer complaint person was nice and professional but not actually empowered to do anything to help. I will recommend to my 5 kids never buy Maytag.

We purchased this Maytag about ten years ago. We had an old brown one that had to be 25 yrs old and still going. This piece of junk has had two compressors; the ice machine hasnt worked in a year, and now it just went out again (third time weve lost hundreds in food)!!!! About the same time we bought a Woods freezer on the cheap, this freezer sits in the laundry room crap piled on it and around it and never have had a problem. Maytag = $2500.00 boat anchor.

Its a water saver model, so to really rinse the clothes of soap from the wash cycle you have to give it an extra rinse, which the machine has made available. So I do not know how much water it really saves.

After only 4 years, the door handle of my $1200 range simply fell off. This seems to be a common problem with this range (Maytag Gemini Electric Double Oven), but what is inexplicable is why a part that perhaps is exposed to the most amount of pressure on a daily basis (opening and closing the oven door) would be held on with a plastic fitting! It seems like planned obsolescence to me. Apparently, the part is $100 (once shipping is included) from Maytag and for that I get the pleasure of taking the entire door apart to install it! Garbage.

Refrigerator 1F122269VEM7 not making ice, shelves broke, freezer drawers stuck, and motor running like an automobile. Refrigerator only 2 years old. Paid 4000 dollars and this is not acceptable. Reviews online very disappointing. Other reviews on this product not good. People having all kinds of products with not resolve.

I recently purchased a Maytag French door, bottom freezer. It was delivered and set up by delivery men and when they pulled out the bottom freezer the bin and tray were missing. This refrig should have never been shipped (per Home Depot) and also delivery men. They called Maytag and ordered the missing part. 5 days later it arrives and is not the right bin. I purchased the 5 year warranty contract and after calling 3 numbers and getting shuffled around, they told me it should also have a slide out. They set up appt. for this Thurs. I wanted to file a claim for loss freezer meat and was told Miss, your 5 year warranty does not start until the 1 year manufacturer warranty is up. She also proceeded to tell me that no refund will be issued and they are NOT responsible when their product leaves their plant and gets to me. REALLY... The refrigerator was not properly inspected and still shipped. Not covered under warranty and fridge is 5 days old and have had issues from date of delivery. I will never make another purchase of a MAYTAG and their customer service could use more training and a course is representing their company in a much better way.
