Echoing the sentiments of others on this site, I am deeply disappointed in Maytag brand appliances manufactured by the Whirlpool Corp. When, for the first time in my life, I was able to buy all brand new kitchen appliances, I didnt even consider any other brand but Maytag. This was based on many decades of using Maytag products and watching my mother use them. I come from a big family so our appliances got used hard, and the Maytag brand ones worked year after year, decade after decade with little or no maintenance. To put it quite frankly, my new Maytag products are junk. I could supply a whole laundry list of problems but, in the interest of space, will just tell about the latest. A couple of weeks ago the fake tin foil paint on my oven and burner knobs just started falling off, revealing cheap plastic underneath. When I called Maytag to complain, I was asked how I clean the knobs. I told them that when I clean the stove front I remove the knobs and drop them in warm water with a couple drops of Dawn dishwashing liquid for the few minutes it takes to clean and polish the stove front, and that I had been using this same procedure for 2 years. The rep. hemmed and hawed awhile and then went away to consult her database. When she returned she told me that one is not allowed to soak the knobs per the manual, and therefore she could not offer any help. She then generously offered to transfer me to the parts department, where the rep. informed me that replacements would cost $70 EACH, thats a total of $350 plus shipping for 5 cheap plastic knobs. WOW! What a deal! I tell everyone I meet NOT to buy any Maytag branded product, and to apply extreme skepticism before considering any Whirlpool product. (BTW - the last certified Maytag appliance repairman to come & fix one of the appliances essentially admitted they are junk.) Model #: MGR8775AS SN: R32810432.

I purchased my Maytag gas range (model number mGR7665WB) on Thanksgiving 2011! It worked fine until May 2012. Then the bake function just stopped working. If I select bake, the temperature fails to rise above 100F and a sickening gas smell fills the kitchen! PC Richards, where I purchased the product from, sent a repairman who took two weeks and two visits to fix the part! Everything was working fine until six months later during cooking for a full house on the day of my daughters birthday party. Same problem, bake function failed again along with gas smell! I was pregnant at the time and very worried about the gas smell! We had to leave the house a few days after that due to the hurricane and when I returned, everything worked great for a few weeks only to fail on Christmas Eve leaving me to cook the meat for our Christmas Day dinner in a neighbors house, highly embarrassing and inconvenient! Now Maytag and PC Richards are only able to repair at a high cost to me which I cant afford and feel I shouldnt be responsible for as this product has been consistently unreliable and possibly dangerous. I am especially concerned about the gas smell as I have a newborn and a 3-year old in our small apartment!

Maytag Oven MGR8670WS1 - Purchased in the Fall of 2011 (along with a fridge... also faulty the freezer stopped working within a year). Ive had the oven stop working twice (in 2012). This week (spring 2014) would be the third time. It seems to be a faulty ignitor already replaced having to be replaced yet again. I have never used such faulty appliances EVER and never AGAIN. This is absolutely ridiculous.

I live in Southern Indiana and bought my appliance from Charlie Wilsons for 25 years. 3 years ago my Whirlpool washer quit filling up to full level. I decided to move it over and use for my car and pet towels. When I bought my hose in March 1999 every appliance was Whirlpool washer, dryer, refrigerator, stove, dishwasher. GE is made in Louisville, KY but I dislike the union.Anyway I bought a Maytag model MVWC415EW1 June 2017. Recently it started making a grinding noise when going in spin cycle, wadding cloths up and leaking black water on basement floor. Called repair shop out. I just do not have the time to repair stuff anymore. They came out $80.00 service call and tell me at least $300.00 to repair. Wait a minute. $500.00 to buy a new one over $300.00 to repair. Guess what I did? I called Maytag and complained. CASE NUMBER **. They reviewed and denied. Not a problem. I said, I guess you do not need me as a customer anymore.I have twenty year old Whirlpool washer and dryer still running, I have replaced my refrigerator (Old one in garage still running a colder than new fridge and day of the week). Bought Amana=Whirlpool and it has quit and replaced with a Whirlpool July 2019. Nothing is built like it used to be BUT we still pay as much if not more. Off I go to Charlie Wilsons to buy a $1000.00 Speed Queen washer with 7 years parts and labor warranty. Had to order it but old washer still running just not going to full mark.

The ceramic coating on the interior of the oven cavity in the top oven, which I use the most (may actually happen to the lower oven in time) has cracked in the exact pattern of the hidden element. When I spoke to the salesperson at the store, he wasnt surprised and said that it will eventually bubble and rust!!! Called customer service and was informed they consider this an aesthetic issue with no fix!!! They will not offer any remedy or compensation. Are you kidding me!!!

The bottom oven of my Maytag double oven range (serial #MER6765BAS18) caught fire while I was baking there. The coil burnt out and separated. This did not occur due to food spill or other means. The coil was charred. The stove top does not perform adequately and the coils do not heat uniformly.

Purchased our side-by-side stainless steel refrigerator. After about three months, we too have a constant puddle of water outside the bottom freezer door. Maytag came out for the first year it was under warranty, each time saying it was fixed. Its still not fixed and its been three years. We have to keep a towel next to the fridge constantly and have experienced floor damage. Class action suit? Sign me up!! My Maytag double oven has stopped working, and my Maytag dishwasher does not clean my dishes at all. I will NEVER buy Maytag again.

Maytag in general has gone from being reputable in the early 70s to being the epitome of a rip-off company that sells junk, then refuses to stand behind it. I have a Maytag Washer and dryer. The washer continually goes out of balance and spins across the floor. Repair people tell us that our floor is not strong enough - funny, our new Samsung washer has no apparent issues with the floor or anything else. Our Maytag Gemini is a piece of crap. The ovens do not work or heat up most days. Maytag pushes replacing an EOC board at $800.00, but then the part is not available. Stove is not even six years old. Maytag is a synonym for junk.

I have never had washing machine that caused this many headaches. The point of a machine is to save you time and energy washing by hand. When the cycle is over, the clothes are tightly spun together that we spend half an hour attempting to untie all the clothes that are woven together. The clothes come back to us in knots, or torn because of the rough nature this machine has created. I have never seen anything like this before and would gladly throw this piece of junk out. We are moving and it would create more headaches to deal with this at the moment. I read that the company had severe money problems and it was due to this very issue. I cant believe a company this well known would allow this to ever hit the market! To openly LIE to people and make money off a product that is faulty deserves the karma they get. Please stay away from this company and their rubbish machines they make and then sell. BUYER BEWARE!

I did not purchase it. This range came with my home. The electric range works great. It is thorough and I dont have to worry about the gas being on and filling the house up. Electric may not be for everyone, but it is the way to go for me. I will look for similar if not the exact same make/model if a replacement is necessary. I dont mind spending a little extra to ensure the product will last. So many products dont last nowadays and it is sad. I am not an avid cooker, actually I tend to mess up a lot of food recipes but the electric range helps me to reduce the number of problems I run across with the durability and accountability of the product. It cooks throughout the entire dish/pan and I have never had a problem with the unit working properly, just the user not working properly. Haha.

Our circuit board has went out twice. The stove is not designed well. The oven vent sends hot air over the plastic panel / circuit board. It melts... The first one was under warranty and the second, only three years later, was not. This is a very expensive part and Maytag will not even talk about giving me a discount.

In July 2001 my husband and I purchased a 6-year old home. We are still here. We have replaced the refrigerator, oven and microwave - all in stainless steel. I am still waiting for the Maytag dishwasher to wear out. It has never been repaired because it has never broken down. Cleans dishes and silverware great.

I bought my Maytag Bravos washer and dryer set about 4 years ago when I moved into my home. The performance of the washer has always seemed mediocre. Despite using the correct HE products, clothes dont get as clean as with other washers I owned. Many times the washer becomes unbalanced, gets the UL code and I need to move my clothes around to get it running again. A few months ago, the washer started a new behavior: stopping during the initial fill cycle and displaying an F1 error. I soon figured out if I hit cancel and then start again several times, it would resume filling and proceed with the cycle. Over time, I had to repeat it more and more. I read about other complaints and suggestions on the internet and tried pulling the plug for a few minutes to reset the control panel as well as turning off the breaker to reset the machine.After troubleshooting the problem for 15 minutes or longer, the machine eventually runs. Then I can run subsequent loads with no problem. After a week or longer of doing no laundry, when I try to start the machine, I need to go through the entire process of canceling the wash load and terminating electric power to reset the machine. I have called Maytag/Whirlpool and got unsatisfactory answers. I only wash two to three loads of wash about every ten days and sometimes even less. The 800 number for Maytag was automated and would only schedule a repair without asking about the specific problem or being able to talk with a person. There was no way to cancel the service call scheduled and I had to call another 800 number to finally speak with a Whirlpool representative who tried to help me. She connected me with A&E Factory Service to cancel the service call.Both representatives stated that most likely the control board is the problem and the cost for diagnosis would be $130 plus the cost of parts, which could run from $200 to $400 since Im no longer under warranty. I canceled the service call as the cost of repair would be easily be almost half or more of the cost of purchasing a new (and different) machine. This is the electronics module, something that shouldnt be worn down or broken by use or even user error. This is an integral part of the machine and if it has a fault (which it clearly does), the manufacturer needs to stand behind it and help the consumer. The customer service manager even admitted that models with other model numbers had had similar problems and a free control board was sent to those customers. But my model was not in that range.”I had purchased a Maytag Bravos dryer at the same time as I purchased the washing machine and the dryer had a problem within a week of the warranty expiring. A service repair person came to my home to repair the dryer as it was barely a year old and I did not use it for several months that year (due to other reasons). From the volume of complaints Ive seen online, the Maytag Bravos washing machines should have been recalled and repaired or replaced free of charge.

When my husband surprised me with a double oven stove I was leery. First Thanksgiving my thoughts were concurred as the 20lb turkey fell from the chinsey rack.....even a cookie tray with almonds fell down.... Unfortunately the lower oven is off by 1/2, no racks work in there. My biggest gripe is that the seller did not exchange it, just tried more racks. Now Maytag will not do anything but allow me to order more racks. This item is a huge piece of junk.

We purchased the MMV4205DS over the range microwave in June of 2015 & installed it in July the same year. We purchased the matching range & a dishwasher at the same time as they were running a promo of $150 rebate if all 3 were purchased. They denied us of $50 of the rebate & stated that all of the paperwork was not submitted on time. We received rebates on 2 of the appliances & paperwork for all. 3 were in the same mailing. Hmmm. We were told a 3rd party handles their rebate program. So much for taking ownership. Yesterday the door open message appeared on the control panel of the microwave & now there is nothing; no light, no fan--completely dead. So much for buying American. Maytag does not see that this is a problem? Do NOT buy Maytag!!!

I bought this over the range Maytag microwave model MMV4205DH-1 5 months ago and today a hairline crack appeared alongside the door handle. I called Maytag to find out how I can get this repaired since, as time progresses, it will become worse due to using the handle to open and close the microwave. I was told this was a cosmetic warranty which expired after 30 days. They would fix it only if the microwave couldnt be opened. Apparently, the handle can become loose but as long as the door opens, they wont do anything.I bought Maytag because of their supposed reputation. Im so glad this happened with my $300 microwave as we were getting ready to replace our washer and dryer and were looking at Maytags. Good to know they dont back their products before I spend several thousand dollars on a washer and dryer. I will NEVER purchase another Maytag. My $120 generic microwave lasted 10 years and I gave it to my son and it is still going strong.

This review is for a Maytag Gemini MGT8775XW 30 Freestanding Double-Oven Gas Range w/ 5 Burners. I cannot believe the amount of problems I have had from this $2000+ range. Within just a few weeks of getting it, the paint started scratching off the surfaces nearest the heat. Then, the plastic cover over the digital display and controls bubbled up due to the heat of the broiler being in use. They designed it so that the heat escapes from the oven right in front of the control panel, so when you want to adjust temperatures on the control panel, you chance getting burnt from the hot air every time.The very worst design are the manual knobs for the burners on the front. They are at an angle, and if you look at the oven straight on, you see they are higher than the burner surface. A hot pan that overhangs the burner cooks the knobs. The plastic interior of the knob lacks any kind of heat resistance and actually starts to turn soft, keeping you from being able to turn off the burner at all!Most dangerous of all, the knobs are frighteningly easy to bump, pouring gas into your house. We have had this problem multiple times. Today, my dog must have wanted to investigate the top of the stove, because when I came home, the burner was on, had burnt through a pot on the stove, and was just at the ignition point for an item sitting next to the stove. If I had come home 15 minutes later, my house would be in flames right now. I am having to air out my home as I type this. I am DONE with this dangerous oven and will be shopping for a new one, and it certainly wont be Maytag.

Purchased this maytag oven from home depot November 2011. Oven has been working properly since install. The top burner controls do operate too easy and you can just brush up against the stove and turn the gas on which I seen here was mentioned. My major issue is the stainless steel finish that was applied. It appears that this metal was not properly prepared prior to applying the finish. The oven door is with rust blisters. The metal under the coating is causing this problem. The finish in the other areas is with no problems... No chemicals have been used to clean this oven.Customer service of maytag stated that this stove only has a one year warranty... so if you buy any maytag just remember one year and when it breaks down the cost to fix will be more than a new defective maytag stove. I will not purchase another maytag product and I do not recommend that this manufacturer be considered when purchasing any appliance.

I purchased this at Home Depot October 2013. The oven heats well. I like the upper and lower oven feature. The broiler works fine. I rarely cook using convection. The self-cleaning feature, to this date works fine. Dislikes - the stainless is cheesy and scratches easily. The knobs on the front are of poor quality and the cook top stains easily and does not come clean. Disturbing - the gas cook top has come on twice with simple bumps and gone unnoticed for a period of time. Usually, you hear the clicking with the gas turning on, but not always. MOST DISTURBING - last night, 1:30 in the morning, I wake up to the heavy smell of gas. Neither my husband, nor I cooked that day, at all. I walked out to the kitchen (opening windows along the way) and the right front burner knob was turned just enough to expel gas, no clicking noise, no flame. This being the third incident (that I can recall), I think this appliance should be recalled. The knobs are not secure/safe enough to be on a gas appliance. Aside from the hazard described above, I too am dismayed at the fact that drips go between the glass and there is no way to clean it. Another poor design flaw.

I purchased a Maytag built-in microwave and oven combo in 2005 for my newly built home, but I did not move into the house until 2008. So the appliance has only been used for 3 years. The microwave stopped heating after only 3 years of use, which was for microwave popcorn mostly. I also purchased, at the same time, a Maytag cooktop. The knobs had to be replaced, a dishwasher, a rack and utensil holder had to be replaced and a washer dryer that doesnt work properly. I also purchased a side-by-side refrigerator which is okay so far. Im very disappointed in their appliances and they were expensive.

My stove is approximately nine years old. During the past year both my husband and I enjoy cooking from recipes 3-4 times a week thus the stove has become essential. Functionality and size is important when trying to cook meals with two or three components. One of the oven racks was missing from the oven when we moved into the house. Even though it is self cleaning, spills pile up between cleanings so it is great that it has a really cool steam cleaning option. Just wish it were 5-6 years newer.

We purchased all new Maytag appliances when we built our house. So far, the stove/oven has quit working and been repaired 3 times; its always the ignitor. The dishwasher has been fixed twice. The washer no longer spins out as it should. The refrigerator and dryer so far have run okay. I am definitely going to change brands with my new appliances. I will not purchase Maytag again. Its not what it used to be. I will do without oven this time, until I can buy a new one. Also, the dishwasher door has had problems from day 1, and now, it will not close at all. It seems like its off the hinge. Definitely, its not the Maytag of years ago.

Thank you all for taking the time to write these reviews. My only regret is that I am reading it now, I wish I would have read it before purchasing my own Maytag washer and dryer... I bought a Maytag MVC565FWI / YMEDC555DW1 washer and dryer duo in December 2018. I had some holes in my sons clothing, but thought maybe they were due to him being a boy of 17 year old in college, sitting all day... Also my dryer was barely drying.Called and had a 1st technician for the dryer issue. He said no wrong code and to try and clean the evacuation vent. As I am a renter, I contacted my owner to do so and he did. But I did not get to try the machine unfortunately since 5 days after the technicians visit, I was deploying to Africa. I am military and was deployed for 8 months. Upon me return, dryer still barely dries and HOLES in every load of laundry that I do. My sons and also my own clothing. This time, there is no mistaking articles that I put in came out with huge circular holes.A second visit with a technician is arranged, last Tuesday October 8th 2019. Still no codes are found. And technician suggests cleaning the conduct better. Again my owner does so. Again, up to 4 cycles of 60 min on High heat to dry articles. No economy on energy on these models! I have called Maytag today since no one has contacted me in a week for my wrecked clothing. To my request of having my appliances either replace or refunded, they say no. Policy is to send a technician. Again. After 2 visits of technical support, Maytag is sending me for a 3rd time a technician (at my cost if nothing is found again) to test the appliances. Since the technicians can not find a code on his machine, Maytag is telling me they will do nothing.I have a washer dryer that wrecks my clothing and does not dry them. (Also I feel like my clothing are never fresh scenting, I wonder how efficient they are with even the basic cleaning part..) I will have to put them in the garbage, because how can I sell them?! Talking to Maytag, is being treated like an infant that does not understand THEM, when in reality, they do not back their products at all. I feel left alone with brand new machines that have been used around 30 times in under 1 year, that I will have to through away in the dump and never ever buy from this company again. M.

We bought the Maytag Aqualift cooktop about a year ago & are continuously dissatisfied with it, for several reasons: 1) the cooktop is a huge nuisance to cook on. The burners are either raging hot (causing boil-overs), or too cool to simmer. The boil-overs then require much cleaning with an expensive cleaning agent. 2) the oven, whether you use regular or convection, underheats - so you can’t tell how long the cooking or baking process will take, & you have to monitor the cooking process. 3) the so-called self-clean is a joke; the oven will not be clean unless you crawl inside & clean it manually. Overall, I’d prefer to toss this range in the trash. I’m a good cook, but I get angry every time I use this expensive, poorly- designed product.

Purchased a Maytag Electric range Model MER8800FZ2 in 2019. The surface Scratched the first week of purchase and the stains will not come off. When I called customer service they claim they are not responsible for cosmetics. In my opinion, This model was put together with the cheapest material they could find. Maytag is not what it used to be. The Elements take a long time to heat up. Inside the oven, the Glazed Paint is cheap product also where once it stains with food it never comes off.

CWG3600AAS13 - I purchased this advertised as Double Oven. It is NOT - its an oven w/ broiler. The oven shuts off completely during cooking time and comes back on approx. 2-3 mins. This takes place often and loses heat. I have to adjust cooking times and oven temp to make up for the loss. This also happens when broiling. Needless to say it takes MUCH longer to broil anything. When I notified Maytag of this, they responded with it is an open door broiler. Are they serious? I have 2 dogs and 11 grandchildren - burn factor anyone? (P.S. It did not change anything.)

I purchased two Maytag appliances; PC-touch control 500 Electric Smoothtop and a dishwasher. In less than two years, I have spent over $1,000.00 repairing these two appliances. With my stove, I have replaced the PC control board and the oven light kit. Less than a year and a half, I now need to replace the PC control board again. I have been a Maytag customer since 1976. The dishwasher had a recall for the heat element and I replaced the control panel control board and door lock switch and the main control board. I will never buy Maytag again.

This has the aqua cleaning technology, sounds real good. DOES NOT WORK! The cleaning is done by you as you nearly climb into the oven with a plastic scraper which they supply to scrape prior to the cleaning cycle. Then after you have used the distilled water in the bottom of the oven during the cleaning cycle (steam), you climb back in to wipe out the water and use something similar to a magic eraser to SCRUB the oven.Here is the real kicker....during the cleaning process, in between the glass (in the door) you develop water spots that cannot be cleaned unless you pay to have a service technician come out and tear it a part to clean it. According to Maytag THIS IS NORMAL and is proven (by their engineers without any documentation for the customers to be able to see) to be normal?? The consequence is a brand new stove will never be clean and it is the first thing you see when you come into my house. I AM EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED!!!!

On June 17, 2013, we purchased this over the stove microwave for my elderly parents. They use it daily to heat their lunches. In December 2014, it would stop turning and finally in January 2015 it completely died... no heating and no turning. The technician quoted a repair at $200 when we only paid a little more to purchase it. I emailed Maytag to tell them that it was manufactured and purchased in 2013 with light use and that it should never have died in such a short period of time. An e-Solutions Specialist contacted me to tell me that they certainly understand my frustration, but that occasionally failures occur and that there was nothing they could do. I replied back that they could DO something because they were customer service and that was there job. No reply back yet, but after seeing so many of the same issues here, Im not holding my breath and I would never buy or recommend a Maytag product of any kind to anyone. I dont expect 15 years from an appliance, but I certainly think 18 months is just wrong.

Updated on 02/13/2021: Maytag stove purchased 15 years ago for about $500. Replaced mother board about 5 years ago which wasnt cheap, but otherwise, stove has performed with no problems and still looks and behaves like a new stove.Original review: Our 6-7 year old well cared for Maytag range oven recently stopped working. After a service call for diagnostics, it was determined the electronic module controlling the clock and all oven functions was dead. We were told by the Maytag service tech the module cost was 300$. That cost plus labor for less than an hour, plus the 60$ diagnostic visit came to almost 500$ which is close to cost of a new stove. The technician answered yes to my question, Do you replace a lot of these? He also said the cause may be power fluctuations making me think that surely there is a way to prevent this kind of failure. So, since the price seemed exorbitant, I wrote Maytag to inquire about causation/prevention, etc. I received a fairly prompt and polite reply with totally no explanation. I wrote another email with relatively the same results. I dont recommend buying an electronically controlled Maytag stove.

We purchased a $945 Maytag 6.4 Cu. ft. self-cleaning freestanding electric convection range which was part of the stainless-steel package for $3600 + a $600-dollar 5 warranty. I did the research and found a solid 4.0 rating, so I went for it. Now I wish I never wasted my money and time. My 5-year warranty for all 4 appliances expired on 8/17 and now everything starts failing, how convenient. The oven will not heat past 340-350 degrees which won’t work with 90% of the stuff I bake. I called Maytag to see if it can be fixed and was quoted $400 for the issue but nothing else. I can pick up a new stainless-steel oven with the save features on a holiday sale for $500. Don’t waste your money on warranties!

My Daughter got me a Maytag oven with the AquaLift technology and is a piece of Junk. Half the time the Water is still there when the cycle is over. The water has made it between the front glass pieces and the finish on the top of the stove looks horrible, it just looks dirty. The knobs are cheap and the fake chrome finish is flaking off. Unfortunately Im stuck with it because I cant afford a new one... this was a gift to me because Im disabled and it was to make my life easier.

Purchased an expensive brand new home which had Maytag appliances in it. After about 1 1/2 years the freezer bottom began to constantly freeze and drip onto my floor. I researched the issue and found it was common, simply thaw the area where it freezes. Did it multiple times, we do not overfill our freezer etc. We must take the ice out of the bottom every 4-5 days. My hardwood floors are destroyed now. We purchased a Samsung fridge freezer bottom when they first came out years ago, had it for 7 years, 0 issues, but it went with the house. Now my Maytag oven door is locked shut, also it takes a very long time to boil water. Maytag junk. I am going to buy another Samsung fridge tomorrow.

After the waranty ran out, oven failed to ignite. Called repairman who couldnt diagnose problem. Broiler works. Replaced some kind of wire & part for $350. Good for 6 months. Happening again. Paid a lot for this oven.

I read some of the reviews on the Maytag ovens. I too have the same problems! Have had control panel replaced and still have to set at 400 if I need to bake at 350. It also takes forever to preheat. Trust this review because I am one very unhappy consumer!! DO NOT buy Maytag!!

I PURCHASED A WALL OVEN ABOUT 4 months ago. Used the self cleaning, oven blew fuse and some other part, had to wait for almost 2 weeks for repair because of self cleaning liner is now peeling and leaving fine particles. Maytag said it was ok, they would not replace, the liner doesnt have a replacement part so Im going to have to buy a new oven to feel safe for my family meal.

Like many people here, I have a Maytag Dishwasher Model # MDB7749SBW3 Serial # F40107007. We have had this dishwasher for about 12 months to 18 months. The first indication that there was a problem was some of the lights were acting strange. Then the dishwasher starting going nuts. I removed power from the unit thinking that maybe the controller became confused. The problem persisted. I would hit buttons and either nothing would happen or something completely different would happen.I take the dishwasher door apart and remove the touch pad. I notice some discoloration on the ribbon cable. I remove the glued on front panel to look at the electronics behind it (see pictures) and I see some discoloration there as well. So using my multimeter, I find that there is a direct short between pins 4 and 5. I vigorously flex the cable at the point of discoloration and the short goes away. So at this point, I doubt that I can get just the flexible circuit strip so Im going to have to pop for a new touch pad assembly. I didnt go further in the measurements as there was no point since I already detected one failure. Furthermore, I inspected the computer control unit and I did not see any obvious signs of corrosion or discoloration anywhere on the processor board. So it appears that there is no problem with it.Conclusion: Many people are at a disadvantage when it comes to electronic devices. In my professional opinion, this is clearly a failure of the insulating material of the ribbon cable due to environmental contamination. Visual inspection shows that corrosion of the conductors is clearly evident. About Me: I have been an electronics technician on and off for over 20 years now. We have reported the first time use of New Gas Range using the oven and range top at the same time is impossible because of BURN HAZARD AND the response was soft with no explanations. The range arrived March 26, 2015. We were impressed with first baking only. Family arrived at our vacation home for Easter celebration. Our first meal on Good Friday using both oven and range top was a disaster and the cook was burned on the stainless steel knobs. The oven vents below the knobs were about the temperature of the 380 degree setting of the oven!We rendered the unit unusable and called Maytag customer care department during the late table dinner. I explained on the 45 min call we were having this event and would be all leaving Thursday and their solution was 8 to 10 day shipping of Fake composite stainless looking knobs. These knobs will have to be sent to our Ohio home 500 miles west of the Range location?? If they could ship that day why not overnight??THE SOLUTION OF WEARING OVEN MITTS FOR STOVETOP COOKING IS NOTHING SHORT of silly to conduct meals for our guest. And other members of our family that we permit occasional use of the home open to burns using this Range until we drive 1000 miles round trip to drive the knobs back to NJ from Ohio??? Customer Care fails to listen. We will not be returning until May. To illustrate my concerns about the logistical issues I asked if Maytag would pay for the mileage and tolls for me to replace BURN proof knobs. Oh and will it work or melt? Furthermore who will pay for the takeout needed to feed our family? He did not get it and consulted with supervisors for most of the call therefore 45 min of wasted call. No solution, self installation on an $800 Range. Dissatisfied CUSTOMER with an unusable Gas Range Burn HAZARD!! Poor Design oven vents less than 2 inches below stove knobs! See Photos.

I bought this range Nov 2019, beautiful range that’s it. Stove top scratches very easily and hard to clean. Oven racks rust, got them replaced on the guaranty they still rust. Oven dirty never gets clean, If I could afford it I would on the curbside. I wouldn’t even give it away. 3 oven in 48 years of marriage, worst oven ever.... Sure would like a full refund, I mean 1500. What a ripoff.

I purchased a Maytag Neptune 24” front load washer (MAH2400a) and 24” electric dryer (MDE2400AYW) on October 26, 2005 from Sears in Chesterfield, MO. In April 2011, the drum in the washer began to slush and grind. Water also began pooling around the machine. I called Sears and arranged for service repairman. Before he even looked inside the washer, the repairman wanted to give me a coupon for $50.00 off a new washing machine from Sears. After my insistence, he finally opened the washer and told me I needed a new drum. Because of the Sears repairman’s reluctance to look at the machine, I had another appliance repairman review it and was told that the water pumps for this model were defective. Any loose items the size of coins collected inside the pump and damaged it. I paid $340.00 to get the pump replaced. Ten months later, the dryer started smoking. After scheduling a service call, I was told the heating element burnt out and it would cost $360.00 to replace. It was then I noticed that the washer was leaking again. I took the front base cover off and saw mold growing under the machine. A little research uncovered that this set of machines has had many dangerous problems, from mold to catching on fire. There was a class action lawsuit filed and won by consumers in April 2005, yet I was sold this model in October 2005. I feel both Maytag and Sears knowingly sold me a defective and dangerous product. I would like to be refunded for this set.

I purchased a white Maytag gas stove over 12 years ago. It has been great and never caused any problems. I live alone and rarely use the oven. However, I use the stovetop daily for cooking. With continual use, it has a lot of nicks and scratches. It also has stains inside the glass oven panel that I cant clean. The glass would have to be removed in order to clean inside. This is why I give a rating of 4 stars. If I used the oven more frequently, I would notice if it had any problems with the temperature, proper cooking, etc. and could give a more accurate rating. I have small toaster oven and therefore, I cook practically all of my meals in the toaster oven.

I’ve had my electric glass top range for four years. Normal use. I set the temperature to 425 degrees to bake a potato. At the 225 degree mark, the oven bursts into flames. The fire burned itself out in about a minute. I turned the oven off and immediately went to google to see happened. I’m pissed! This stove is only four years old!

Maytag Range Precision Touch Control 800 Electric Smoothtop - The racks in the oven fall down. I have replaced them with new ones but am having the same problem. I emailed my concerns to Maytag a few months ago but didnt get any response (so perhaps I didnt go to the right site). The oven was purchased in early 2008 and this is the only problem I have had with it. If I am extremely careful, I can bake cookies but if I try baking or roasting anything heavy, the racks fall. It is very frustrating but I was pleased, for lack of a better word, to see that someone else was having the same problem - at least I know it isnt just me. I will try contacting Maytag again.

CHRISTMAS morning Set oven to 325 for ham. Control board caught fire and burnt wires and burnt inside of rear cover. It got hot enough to char the wood wall behind stove. This could have killed my family on CHRISTMAS.

The middle piece of glass on my four-year-old gas oven shattered. It was not being used, but when I called Maytag, they told me that that was not covered because I did not have an extended warranty, and that I can purchase a new oven door and would have to pay the service person. I hope they go out of business. Maytag stinks, and everyone should know this.

This Maytag oven has lasted my mom for over twenty years. Now after her passing the oven is now serving me and my family. Have had it soon to be three years. Just now having to replace one of the eyes.

We bought a new home with all new Maytag appliances. Our Maytag dishwasher has had 3 new handles, 1 inside tub and now needs a new touch panel. Our Maytag oven/stove has needed three ignitors and the oven door has never been right! The microwave is the only appliance that we have not had a service call. Appliances are expensive along with parts and labor for service calls. I will not be purchasing any more Maytag appliances. The standard comment by repairman: They dont make them like they used to. How sad is that!!

We bought this range (model MER8700DS 1) March 25, 2015. Manual states when you use the oven first few times odor or smoke may happen and is normal. It also tells you this is not harmful but remove birds to another room because the fumes can kill them. Noxious fumes? Forget about the birds! Had to open up the whole house and go outside. Burned my eyes, throat and lungs. Day after day, repeatedly turned temp up to 400 trying to burn off what we thought might be a coating. No luck.Maytag got very concerned when I explained about the noxious fumes and had someone come out right away. Tech took it apart. He removed bottom (screwed in) plate that covers the bottom heating element. That plate gives the added ability to have 3 racks and make full use of the 6.3 cubic ft. capacity. Under the plate we found bits of insulation. We think that is what we smelt as it burnt up. He couldnt smell anything when he had it up to 400. So off he went thinking problem solved. Well, it still stinks. We will have Home Depot take it back. Oven takes forever to come to temp which we read in many complaints but thought thats minor. Dont know what oven to get instead since Whirlpool makes so many brand names. And other brands all seem to have their own problems.

Maytag Glass top model #MER8600DHO. I bought it because it got good consumer reviews. This is supposed to be a self clean oven but the steam system in this model is not very effective. It doesnt clean the oven. Would never buy a range again with this oven cleaning system. I wanted to try a glass top stove but wish I hadnt. It is harder to clean and the glass scratches. I really dont like the self clean oven system in this stove - it flat out doesnt work and it takes a lot of elbow grease to clean the oven. The oven however seems true to temperature and does a good job. Overall I am Ok with this stove but wouldnt purchase a glass top again.

I dont even bother repairing those things. Customer calls and I say, Sorry, those are worthless. I did try but gave up. Buy Speed Queen. Traditional, heavy duty, with three-year warranty. Whirlpool who owns Maytag doesnt give a crap. They want their warranty repairmen to pass drug tests but no longer give appliance training. Speed Queen is built in Wisconsin. Who knows who is building the Maytag crap. Another customer had a similar problem with Maytag stove, 1 year old. Whirlpool and Menards said, Sorry, you didnt buy the extended warranty. I have conversations with just about every customer about junk appliances these days. Try to find used 20-year old Maytag for quality. Good luck.

Does not wash. Only very small loads get washed even though it claims to wash bedding. Some clothes NEVER get wet. Many times the clothes have to be rearranged and re-washed AND extra rinse. Cycles are over an hour each (then multiply x2!!). Maytag service has been called MULTIPLE times. They replaced the touch pad then the computer board. Both times saying the machine works “according to design/specs”. This is a Very poor design. Maytag should recall this inferior machine as it does not perform the job it is being sold for.

Purchased a Maytag range with Aqualift technology in 2013 thinking it was a good brand and *happy* to find a new way to self-clean my oven. This turns out to be nothing but a joke and I am not *happy* with it. After following directions to the letter, there is some loosening of anything on the floor of the oven, but the sides and top are slowly being coated with more and more grease. Ive spent way too much time with my head in the oven trying to scrub stuff without using a heavy duty cleaner but feel I now need to resort to Easy Off as there is no other way to get it clean. I also dont understand why they tell you to remove the racks since there obviously isnt enough going on to even clean the oven... How would the racks be damaged? And now I believe there is a problem with the Dual Choice element where Im not able to turn the temperature down. Even turned back to the low setting, the pan cooks away like its on high. I have to keep turning it off and then back on in an attempt to find something similar to medium or low heat. Im so very disappointed in Maytag and feel this method of oven cleaning should never have been put on the market. Its a scam!

We purchased the Maytag double oven 30 inch 5 burner, stainless steel, model MGT8885XS. Oven worked good for six weeks. The igniter broke in the bottom oven and when the third party non-Maytag repairman came out to fix it, he was unable to remove the bottom oven door. It is not flush and heat escapes when the bottom oven is on and it causes the top oven to get condensation. The repair man was directed from a technician from Whirlpool that he had to order a new seal and hinges. I dont want it fixed. I want a new one. I have called Customer Service for Whirlpool and the third party and the store in which I bought it from and everyone is pushing it off onto someone else. Customer service is poor and stated they will only fix the oven and will not send us a new oven. We sent our rebate in the mail which was to arrive within 8 weeks and we have yet to receive it. Very poor customer service. Glad I purchased the 4 year warranty. I will never buy Maytag again.

According to Maytags manual Odors and smoke are normal when the oven is used the first few times... Exposure to the fumes may result in death of certain birds. What about humans? I had serious respiratory problems and the industrial-level fumes lingered after dozens of uses. Neither the upper nor the lower ovens are calibrated. Upper oven baked at 325 when digital readout said 350. Lower oven had to be set to 365 to cook at 350. (After several puzzling baking disasters I bought an oven thermometer.) YOU are supposed to calibrate it yourself with cryptic instructions and a lot of trial and error.

I had a problem with my 1 year old oven. I scheduled an appointment and no one showed up. So I fixed it myself. A week later they called to schedule an appointment and I told them that they were scheduled for last week. So their response was OK, I dont need them anymore - goodbye. The parts are under warranty so I send them the part I replaced myself and the invoice for the cost. I didnt get a response. So 3 months later I send a second letter. Three more months and still no response. I can remember when Maytag had commercials showing their repair sleeping because they had no work to do. Now, their products are failing and their entire service depart is asleep.

I called Maytags customer service about an over the range microwave that was bought 2 years ago and barely used. The mechanism in the microwave on the latch for the door, clicked into the body of the unit and therefore the door does not register closed which doesnt allow it to come on. After explaining this issue to the customer service rep, she insisted that the only thing that Maytag would stand behind was the part if needed. A service call would be between $100 - $150. The microwave isnt even that old and why would Maytag not stand behind a like new unit? I bought 3 Maytag products and I am now regretting it. I had asked to speak to a supervisor and she just proceeded to repeat the same thing the sales rep did. They will only cover the cheap part if needed.What happened to Maytag being top of the line? Apparently they dont care about standing behind their products and would rather you buy an expensive extended warranty to cover their cheaply made appliance. I think they should be under review as a company. I would somewhat understand paying if my appliance was 5 to 10 years old. But its basically new. How is there no protection for customers when it comes to purchasing lemons from an appliance dealer? I will NEVER buy Maytag again and plan on selling my 2 other newly purchased appliances before they have issues. Maytags reviews on social media are terrible. All they offer are the words Im sorry and I understand your frustration. I assume thats just what they have written down in front of them to tell everyone who calls with issues. My Maytag (MER7662XQ) oven has stopped working after barely 6 months of use. I filed a warranty-repair complaint and reported the error codes shown: F1 (faulty touchpad) and F3 (faulty temp sensor). Although Maytag promptly sent a repairman, he arrived without parts and left within 5 minutes without fixing anything. He said he would order parts. Whenever they were delivered to us, by mail, we should call again to schedule another repair. But he warned he was prohibited from coming out for another 7 days. So far, Ive been without an oven for almost 3 weeks and there has been no action or information. My calls to Maytag produced nothing, except confirmation they show the repair as open since they do not actually distribute parts, and the repairman is with an outside company. A terrible product and a worse service! I would not ever buy another Maytag product and recommend that no one else does either.

Do not buy this refrigerator!! It’s small on the inside but to top it off the vent is on the left side, not in the back, so everything freezes on the left side of the refrigerator. Plus they positioned the light right in the front at the top so you cannot put a gallon of milk or anything tall. Not orange juice, apple juice, nothing!! Horrible design. I’ve had the repairman out, he said he couldn’t do anything about the freezing on the left side unless he turned the temperature up on the fridge and on the freezer. We tried that & The ice cream was so soft, almost melted. The problem then was the temperature was too warm for milk and other items. Not a recommended temperature to keep cold items. He said I would have to keep everything away from the back & the left side to use it without freezing my items. I’ve lost a lot of food because of this. Very unhappy with this refrigerator!!

Bought a stove in May of 2014. In July of 2014 we noticed a 1x6 stain inside the glass of the oven door. I called Maytag and they stated only 30 day warranty on cosmetic flaws. I said this was not there when we bought it. They asked if anything had boiled over because if liquids get in the vents on the oven door it can get in between the glass. I stated no, only cleaned with Stainless steel clear. They stated most likely when I sprayed the door it ran down in between the glass. I said that is a flaw. They said, no the vents are there to allow heat out. I asked if they also were designed to let liquids inside the glass, they said no, I said design flaw. They will do nothing. I also pointed out that nowhere in the owners manual is there a reference to this possibly happening. Our sons in laws have a 3 year old LG stainless steel with vents and have never had this problem. Maytag will not stand behind their products even when they are the ones at fault. Buy a different brand.

Purchased my microwave in 2005 and seldom used it. However in the last few months, the halogen light which lights up the range surface has been flickering. When I asked an electrician doing other work around my house to repair it, he discovered that the halogen light is attached with a dual pin socket which is plastic. When the halogen light gets overheated (and halogen produces alight of heat) it melts the plastic. It has already melted some of the plastic socket. When it fails to operate, I will have to repair the light socket which will be very expensive or buy a new microwave. This microwave cost $800 or more because it offered convection cooking which I have seldom used.This is what is presumed quality appliance? Plus I added the cost of an extended warranty.

We just purchased a house with new appliances. They are Maytag. When I use my stove the oven heats. I have no idea why. I wondered if anyone else has had this problem. When I turn it off it turned off but it turns back on when the oven is on.

CONSUMER BEWARE: Maytag is the WORST corporation to deal with. We have purchased a Maytag range from them recently. Unfortunately we have had 4 appliances delivered to us damaged from Maytag. The fourth time around we finally got a supervisor on the line. In order to expedite the situation. And the supervisor (Frank) refused to expedite or even call to try and move up the 5th delivery date. All he talked about was Maytag company policies to us. To make a long story short and I do mean long. Buyers beware. Maytag DOES NOT HOLD THEMSELVES ACCOUNTABLE FOR ANYTHING. Once the appliance leaves their facility they are not responsible for it. I CANT SAY THIS ENOUGH. DONT PURCHASE MAYTAG PRODUCTS.

I have an MFD2560HEB refrigerator that I purchased 6 years ago. I paid a premium price for what I thought was a quality product. It has had issues with the ice maker from the beginning, yet I was always able to get it fixed with unplugging the unit for a while. The fan inside the unit stopped working last year. I took apart the entire inside to replace it, and now, 4 months later, the water is completely frozen. Unfortunately, I purchased a Maytag induction stove in May and less than a month later, it is not working either. Maytag quality is not! I asked if I could return the stove, but was told I had to let them fix it. Im still waiting to use my $2,000 stove!

The range I have works awesome, which is surprising for an electric stove. For being 11 years old I am happy with how it is still holding up. The only thing I would improve is if it was a double oven instead of a single!

After writing a polite but stern complaint to several of the executives at Maytag and Whirlpool we got a call from their executive assistant. She arranged to have a technician come out to our house and assess the installation. He found nothing wrong and Maytag replaced the control panel for free. The technician has seen numerous faulty electronic control panels, and not just with Maytag. He would not recommend a preferred make or model. He longed for the old mechanical timer switches, which we could no longer find in the newer models. With enough customer complaints maybe they will do something about the electronic control panel in the future.

Range is at least 20 years old and everything still works w/o issues. Our model has an upper level and a larger lower level that is a convection oven also. The top one heats up real fast which is great for quickly cooking and reheating. The lower one is large enough for everything else.

I take pride in my cooking and love my kitchen. As you know this is where everyone gathers when you are entertaining. The Aqualift system does not work. I have run the process 3 to 4 times consecutively in row and the inside oven the oven is never clean. I wipe out the sides over and over. So disappointed. The only saving feature is that you can not see into the horrible look of the inside the oven when it is closed. Was this feature really tested before it went to market????

The microwave is 5 years 6 months since purchase model MMV4203DS. Fire started at rack clip left front rack, was cooking bacon. Called Maytag and according to them and manual on page 3 is only for 2-level cooking to avoid damage to microwave oven. DOES NOT SAY WILL CATCH FIRE OR THE RACK CAUSES SPARKS AND BACON SHOULD NOT BE COOKED IN A MAYTAG MICROWAVE. But according to Representatives of MAYTAG ** its my fault for not reading my manual. YES AND NOT HAVING THE SERIAL NUMBER THAT IS ON A PAPER TAG IN THE WHIP ZONE. The was gone from keeping it clean faded out. So I cannot be helped without the model and serial number.

My Maytag refrigerator, model number mff2557heb, serial number 10375839gv, was purchased in 5/2005. Two weeks ago, this refrigerator stopped working. I called the Maytag technician and then right away came to my house and find out it is the compressor that needs to be replaced. He told me to search if it is under warranty. I searched in the internet Maytag compressor warranty and I found it and then called the Maytag representative. I told them I have found in their website that compressor of this Maytag is covered for 10 years but labor is not included. Then they asked me to fax it. I faxed the copy on 6/20 and they responded on 6/22. He said they received the copy and he said, Yes, it is covered for 10 years but you will shoulder the labor. So to make the story short, this Maytag representative scheduled Friday, 6/29 for the Maytag technician to fix my refrigerator. My husband did not go to work yesterday, 6/29, Friday, so he will be home for this Maytag tech. Maytag tech came at about 2pm yesterday and when he confirmed that it is the compressor that is the problem, he asked for the warranty paper. And when my husband present the proof, the copy of their warranty coverage that came from the Maytag website, he refused to work with my refrigerator because he said the one in the internet is not valid. It is really upsetting because I faxed the copy of it to them on 6/20/12 and they honored it. Thats why they arranged the technician to come to my house and then my husband did not work for them to work with our refrigerator and then asking me $79 for just saying that it is not covered by the warranty. I even gave them the model number and the serial number of the refrigerator so they can verify if it is covered. He said yes 10 years warranty on the compressor. In fact, two employees that I have spoken to both agreed that it is 10 years coverage except for the supervisor named Rachel. Her employees agreed to 10 years based on the paper that I have faxed them and it came from their website and they dont want to honor it after they sent the technician to my house. Ive had my Maytag (above range model) for about 4 months. The same as everyone else with open/close door error. Faulty door switch. When the interior light doesnt come on, I know I will get the error. You would think Maytag would have already repaired or replaced this door switch part.

Wish I had reviewed Consumer Affairs reports. When our old Maytag stove required repairs we decided to upgrade old stove instead of putting money into old unit. Looks like a huge mistake. Not only was there a delay in receiving unit after placing order but oven will not preheat. Two weeks before Thanksgiving we were promised a working unit. Now we are only 2 days from Thanksgiving, 2 repair companies have been at home to repair. Requires new circuit board and a new regulator to repair and no promise we can obtain parts. Now I have to figure out how to feed my family for holiday. I am pretty well done and after reading other reports that they are better in junkyard I think I will try to make them take back this defective Model 8800 product. Sitting in our kitchen unusable for the holidays. Dont buy Maytag as customer service does not exist.

We bought Maytag Gas Double Oven MGT8800FZ only just two years ago and the top part of the range oven has already stopped working. It has not been overused as there are only two of us in the family and we use Crockpot regularly which do not require the range. It was fine for about 23months, but now it will not heat up at all We have been unable to get much help from Maytag so are not at all happy with this product. We chose Maytag as it is a replacement for an older Maytag oven and we have a Maytag fridge which will shortly have to be replaced. Not sure at all if we will replace it with Maytag going on our experience with our double oven.

We bought Maytag dishwasher and Fridge and Whirlpool stove, the dishwasher, front panel came apart, the seal leak, the motor make a serious grinding noise, wheel on the interior racks were broken off easily. All of these parts will not be changed under the extended warranty by King & State, Whirlpool do not want to respond to our request for follow up. Neither is Leons Store where we bought these appliances. Only after 4 years of normal use.... Think about it! Kitchen Aid, Amana, Maytag, Whirlpool, latest Kenmore same products. BBB is not helping resolving these issues, their method is wait and see. Stay away from those companies. As Info: if you need to rinse by hand the dishes before setting them in the dishwasher...wash them much faster and better done.

Never had a Maytag before I bought my house. So far the only complaint is there’s a broken piece that prevents the drawer from functioning. Otherwise, pretty good stove/range for the price. Do wish it was easier to clean without scraping anything up.

I purchased high end Maytag washer, dryer, dishwasher and microwave in May 2010. On Saturday 4/25/14, the Maytag Microwave stopped heating. The fan runs, the panel, display, lights, clock, and tray all work. It just doesnt cook. The Microwave was installed in June of 2010. Not even 4 years old. I have tried to troubleshoot via the instructions that came with the microwave, i.e. Check the demo mode is not on. Dont know why after 3 yrs it would be, but checked it. No help. Pulled the plug out and replaced; turned breaker on and off; checked to see if its was locked. Nothing. I then checked the door and I found that the plastic inside panel on the latching side of the door is pulling away from the door itself, which is part of the locking system. The magnetron shouldnt work if the door system isnt closing properly. The latch system is what is causing the door to pull apart. I am wondering now how much microwave exposure my family has been getting from a malfunctioning door? I have had a Microwave, dishwasher and refrigerator made by Maytag in the past. The refrigerator is 14 yrs old and still works fine. The microwave and dishwasher were at least 10 yrs old when I replaced them with the new Maytags I have now. Here is the problem. Maytag is not Maytag Corp. anymore. Whirlpool Corp now owns the Maytag brand. Prior to the old Maytags I had, I had GE fridge which was junk, and Whirlpool, dishwasher, stove and microwave. They were also junk. I swore I would never buy Whirlpool products again. Surprise.

We bought this from our local big box retailer paying $433.87 after installation, the oven, haul away and home delivery. Two years and 3 months later its a boat anchor. Display is cold and dark after stating we needed to open and close the door before it would heat. We did but it kept displaying the same message. Unplugged it, turned circuit off per Maytag customer service line, still nothing. It is no longer made and you cant get parts. It is useless. The 10 year warranty just covers the magnet and the cavity.

Bought a new maytag gas range march 2013 model #mgr8674ab. The oven would not light at all. Would just click. Still under warranty. Called the service. They came and had to replace the controls in back. 2 months later the same thing, only this time it comes on and goes right back off. Then a week ago got it to light, used the oven and tried to turn it off and it would go off but immediately light up again. Scary to say the least. Another call to service. They are coming tomorrow. This is November 12 2013. I would not buy another maytag gas stove. There is something terribly wrong with this model.

I have a self cleaning Maytag electric stove. I discovered the self cleaning starts after so many times of using the oven. But the stove didnt give me warning of this when I put my Thanksgiving turkey in the oven. Halfway through cooking, the oven door locked and went into cleaning mode which scorched my turkey and could have possibly caused a house fire. Also, my top burners have a mind of their own, while cooking they turn up on their own. This stove is very dangerous.

We purchased the Maytag over the range microwave December 2014. Three months after installing it the door cracked. Maytag did replace the door and the repairman thought it might be due to the heat from the stove (huh, it was designed to go over the stove, where there will be heat). Now, six months after that, the layers of plastic on the door are separating and the piece around the control panel is cracked. Maytag agreed to replace the control panel but refuse to replace the door as it is only cosmetic (their words). So much for paying a little extra for what we thought would be a quality product. It seems to me that if something was made to go over the stove, it should be made to withstand the heat.

Was assured the washer could do comforters, etc. Well, I took a video of the washer doing 5 t-shirt, 1 pair of pants, and 3 pairs of socks on the power wash cycle. Nothing tumbled. All the plate did was swish some water around on the bottom. Clothes werent clean at all. Check my Youtube video, and you can watch the leg of the pair of pants sticking up out of the water and never getting back down in to get wet. Horrible horrible machine. With that said, called the company I bought it from, and they arranged for a front loader since Id only had the machine for a couple hours. Stuck me for a second delivery fee though, which I wasnt happy about. Well see when the new one gets here Tuesday.

Shortly after having this appliance custom wired and installed into the kitchen cabinets above our gas range, we found that the microwave no longer worked. The window where the digital clock shows the time instead Showed SE. I hit the clear button and the microwave once again worked. This happened again on many occasions and the clear button corrected this malfunction. Now this has happened once again but nothing Ive attempted clears the System Error or reboots the microwaves brain. Ive contacted many appliance repairmen but as soon as I mention Maytag they inform me not to repair the microwave as it costs more to repair than to replace. Ive attempted to purchase a new circuit board and repair it myself but no one has the part available. This appliance was purchased in April, 2009. Can anyone recommend a Microwave Brand as a replacement for this disappointment?

The Maytag MGR5875QDW oven does not come up to temperature. It might start, but then it will give 2 dings and show a failure. I have called the 800 number in the manual. There’s no good help. Electric stove range is great. It was very affordable, this stove is very easy to clean and wipe down on the outside. I had it for 4 years and had no problem with it. Would definitely recommend it to anyone on a budget. It also has a warranty which is also a plus.

If I can rate the AquaLift Technology oven cleaning system that my Maytag oven has as a “Zero”, I would. This technology only removes some of the spills on the bottom of the oven. It does not clean the sides or top of the oven. I’m back to the olden days of using a lot of elbow grease to remove splatters and spills. They say you cannot use any cleaners in the oven either. At least with the old ovens you can spray an oven cleaner and wipe it clean. This product has taken us back before there were spray oven cleaners!

I bought 4 appliances - stove, refrigerator, dishwasher and microwave. Just after 1 year, our dishwasher stopped working. Serviceman said it was the motherboard. I had to talk with a supervisor in customer service to get it covered and found that it was only a switch that was bad. Next, our ice maker overflowed with water, causing damage to our new hardwood floor. Again, I had to talk with a supervisor to get this covered and I did not file a claim for the floor. Then, our stove shut down. Repairman found that a wire was shoved into the top box, causing them to be exposed and shorting out the system. Now 2 years and 4 months, our microwave is not heating and I have to call for service. This was a brand-new kitchen that was remodeled and all appliances were new.I am very disgusted with Maytag products and their attitude of We are sorry, but there is nothing we can do as the warranty has expired. It used to be 3-year warranties for Maytag products until they were bought out. Never will I buy their products again. Have been married 40 years, and our other appliances for 38 years never failed and to find that these products are made in the USA.

I bought a Maytag Range with the Aqualift feature 3 years ago. Worse purchase every, the oven clean option (Aqualift) is useless. It do not work at all, be prepared to spend hours cleaning. I followed manufacturers instructions and its useless, after running the cleaning cycle three times I gave up and starting cleaning for hours.

Three years ago, we purchased a gas Maytag double oven, it worked fine for three years, then it blew the breaker. When we turned the power back on, we could not turn the oven off. The control panel had to be replaced, dinner too. We had bought the extended warranty, so that was covered. Last week, after four months, it happened again. We placed an oven thermometer inside the oven and it is was higher than the maximum temperature of 600 which the thermometer could measure. We are currently awaiting a new control panel. Maytag used to be a good name, but recommend you to buy something else.

My double oven was purchased over 6 years ago. They have been served yearly and work fine. The only thing is the cleaning cycle which if used at the high temperature to clean can affect the oven temperature control. I don’t use this function anymore.

We purchased a Maytag Gemini gas range last year in April and the extended warranty. The ovens have not worked correctly since we bought it. I never do this type of thing, however, I am just disgusted! I am going to exercise my right as a consumer to express my customer dissatisfaction and share using the social network. I dislike Maytag and even dislike A&E factory service more! I have never experienced such bad service on a new appliance. What is even more concerning and the reason I am posting this warning is there appears to be no recourse! I googled search both companies and the first things that came up were complaint pages. How sad! Buyer beware! If you buy a new appliance, research the warranty provider. It appears that Maytag has laid off the Maytag repairman and went to a lost cost unskilled service provider! A&E repairman has no idea how to fix the oven. He replaced the part. 4 weeks later, came out and walked in the house and did not even look at anything and ordered the same part again. He told us he would be back the following Friday. He did not schedule an appointment. I called on Thursday before he was due to show on Friday and A&E told me I had no appointment scheduled. They told me to inspect the parts that were shipped. I told them I would not even know what I was looking at! They told me the repairman would be back out between 1-5PM on Friday. No one showed. At 2PM, I called and A&E said the repairman must be on his way because he did not call and say he wasnt coming. But again, he did not show! I made no less than 6 calls to A&E and Maytag after that! A&E would not escalate the situation to a supervisor and on call number 6, when I finally got to an advocate, they told me to call Maytag! I have taken 4 days off as vacation to be home for the repairs and this last day was the final straw. When I researched escalating paths for both companies on Google, the first thing that came up was whole pages dedicated to complaints for both companies!

I purchased a Maytag Electric Range (Model: MER7662WS1) at Lowes in February 2011. After few months, we found many rusty areas on the stainless oven door and on the stainless drawer.On 9/8, I called Maytag at 1-800-688-9900 to complain that stainless steel is not supposed to rust. A representative took the initiative to schedule A&E Factory Service to come to my house for a warranty repair, and assigned me an order # 40629499. I did not request for this service call and naturally, I regard this as a warranty service or a service of quality check of a product.On 9/19, a technician came to check the rusty area and confirmed that the stainless steel have rusted and the rust will eat through the panel. The technician called Maytag, and got the answer that Maytag will not pay for his visit because its not under warranty. The technician then checked the warranty manual, but could find not any statement that neither rust is cosmetic nor rust is not covered. The technician asked me to pay $132 for his five-minute checking service. I was so upset and called Denice at A&E Factory Service at 1-800-905-9505 to bill Maytag directly. She ignored my request and said that I should take it to Maytag.After a couple of hours waiting, holding and transferring, I explained to two Maytag customer service representatives my problem, only to get a Sorry, its not covered, its cosmetic, reply. I insisted talking to a manager and finally got Melinda at Care Solution Team. She, too, refused to waive the charge for me and claimed herself as a supervisor and decision maker and theres no one above her who could resolve this issue.I emphasized that A&E service call was authorized by Maytag, I did not order the service. Who would have thought that a service authorized by manufacturer is not covered under warranty? Besides, this representative failed to inform me that rust would not be covered, she should have known better. Therefore, I believe that the person who initiated the service call to A&E should be held accountable. But Melinda never wanted to agree with this logic and kept saying, We dont force customer to have home service. You are liable for the bill.She refused to pay for the service and forced me to pay the bill from the mistake they made. She even refused to give out the persons ID # and name of the person who called A&E. She only documented my complaint--whats the point of their documentation? If this is the tactic that Maytag is using to categorize rust as cosmetic (if rust can damage material, then you should not call it cosmetic), and ban customers from claiming the rust damage so they can use poor quality of stainless steel on their appliances to save the cost, then, it is dishonest to advertise that this oven is stainless.A representative even said that Maytag should have emailed me with the confirmation of service call and noted that its a non-warranty service. Also, A&E should have informed me before arrival that the service is not covered. All these were not true. First, I did not receive such email from Maytag or Whirlpool. If Maytag would have warned me with non-covered policy such as this, they should have the courtesy to call me in case the email was unreliably routed to spam box. A&E only informed me that they are coming the next day, but no such thing as telling me that the service will not be covered. Even their technician did not know about the non-covered issue, and had to call Maytag today to find out.Had the person who scheduled the service told me that the rust on the stainless panels is not covered under warranty, will I still allow the service call and agree to pay $132 for a five-minute checkup and watch the technician leave without performing any repair? I asked Melinda to let me talk to her supervisor but she said that theres no one who can talk to me, and the only way to appeal is to write to the companys executives. I bought a Maytag Gas Range in January 2010. In January 2012, the wiring caught fire, and now, the oven is unusable. Maytag was not very helpful in our loss of money and product.

I purchased the Maytag oven in January and have had the service technician out 5 times to try to repair the oven because it doesnt heat properly. Theyve told me that because I live in a condominium that it is normal for the oven to take an hour to preheat, then another hour for the second oven to preheat. When I am baking the oven does not hold the temperature and anything I bake takes much longer than it should. They refuse to get me a new oven.

I purchased Maytag Washer and Dryer 3-4 years ago, upgraded to the premium washer and dryer, SS drums and have been dissatisfied from the start. The washer was extremely noisy; we were told this was normal. The dryer began making strange noises just outside the warranty period, and the belt and pulley had to be replaced. I was shocked at the cheapness of the pulley design, but the replacement part was of better quality. The washer began making a horrendous squeak shortly afterwards, again, outside the warranty period. The repairman said that they were all like that, Maytag used inferior transmissions and that it would be cheaper to replace the washer than repairing it. My mother had the same experience with a similar model. Needless to say, I will never purchase another Maytag product. FYI, there are only three people in our household, all adults, light duty use.

We purchased our range in May of 2012. It is now November 2014 and the stove has had three brains, three ignitors in the oven and one ignitor in the back of the stove. When I set it to bake at 350 degrees, the oven heats up and I put the food in the oven. When I go to check the food, I find the oven stone cold and the brain is still displaying 350 degrees. According to Home Depot Warranty department, if the oven has been fixed three times for the same problem, then the unit is considered a LEMON. Ok, what about the three brains? What about the three ignitors? The ignitor in the back of the stove controls the oven as well. SEVEN times for a technician to come out and fix my LEMON stove is ridiculous. California has lemon laws. I will file suit against Home Depot, Whirlpool, A&E and Quality Appliance if this stove is not replaced within the next seven days. IT IS A LEMON! I have lost way too much food in this oven because I dont know when it shuts off.

Maytag AquaLift Oven #YMER8880BW - The aqualift technology does not clean the oven. It is sorely inadequate. I bought Maytag because of its reputation. This range should be recalled as should all their ranges with this useless technology. Buyers BEWARE! Do not purchase any range from Maytag which advertises Aqua Lift technology. This purchase has soured your reputation Maytag. I also purchased a fridge with the stove. I will NEVER buy a Maytag product again. Purchased this double oven back in 2012 and have had to have the control valves replaced twice because of them jamming and snapping. The burners are undersized for cooking and it takes forever to get water to a rolling boil. The broiler in the upper oven needs constant attention when using it because food cooks unevenly and burns quickly. The lower oven is great, convection is awesome. I have seen the Maytag repairman more from my stove than I have for any of the other appliances I owe combined. Maytag should stick to appliances that only use water.

I have always stored clean dishtowels and oven mitts in the storage drawer of my ovens (for over 50 years). I bought a new Maytag (2 days old) and was cooking in the oven tonight. I opened the drawer to get a mitt and it was on fire!! I am shocked. How dangerous is that! I looked over the manual and there is nothing that says towels cannot be stored in the drawer. It was literally on fire. I emptied the contents of the drawer into the sink. Has anyone else had this problem?

Oven door glass shatters after 6 years of having this oven and the company refuses to cover it. According to them it is not a safety concern. It is actually designed to shatter this way. Wow, thats comforting. Should be 0 stars not 1 star.

I purchased a Maytag electric slide in stove, in stainless steel. The aqua clean is a joke, ran it for three cycles after cooking one roast and it does not work. Then to add insult to injury I had to get on my knees using a turkey baster to remove what was left of the two cups of water. The finish on the front is coming off. Not at all what I expected from a 1500.00 range. Poor quality. Now there is the sound of a fan running and I am not using convection.

I purchased 4 new Maytag appliances as part of a kitchen update. The dishwasher was the first to fail, less than a year after being installed. The control panel stopped working (random lights would come on, always different from the one being pressed, and frequently incompatible selections such as Rinse Only and Sanitize. PC Richards sent a repairman with a new part, no charge. A few weeks ago, it happened again. PC Richards says that replacement parts are only under warranty for 90 days, so now the repair is on me. I could pay or repair it myself or pay PC Richards to do it. Thank goodness I am handy, but I still have to pay for the part. Now I am reading that the MDB7749 series has a history of this problem. When is Maytag going to own up and issue free repairs? I certainly will never buy Maytag again, as both the range and the refrigerator also have common problems. Luckily, I paid for the 10-year service agreement on those appliances.
