We bought a Maytag Bottom Freezer Model MBB1952HEW in 2006. We have already replaced the relay, two years ago, now the compressor is going. I have seen recalls of the top freezer on the internet but not on the bottom freezer. It is concerning when you pull your refrigerator out from the wall as to how warm/hot it is back there. We were told it would be cheaper to buy a new refrigerator versus replacing the compressor. We are so disappointed in how much money we have stuck into this refrigerator for how old it is. I would expect a refrigerator from a reputable company to last longer than 6 years.

I bought a Maytag Centennial Commercial washer, 3.8 cubic feet, Model # MVWC425BW on September 17, 2014. My clothes were never clean and barely wet. The machine took almost 2 hours to do a load of clothes and they werent even clean! I bought the 3-year extended warranty through Lowe’s. Three years and 8 days later the machine stopped working. Serviceman came out and told me the washer was fatally wounded. He said the transmission failed. He also told me the replacement part would be $400.00 and that it wasnt worth it. He said these machines are junk and Maytag has had all kinds of issues with them. So Maytag knows these machines fail and yet do nothing for their consumers. Maytag, you will only ride on your name for so long; consumers are catching on. Maybe back in my Moms day you were the go-to brand but Im afraid that ship has sailed. Ive always gone with Maytag but now I question that choice. I came on Consumer Affairs page to see what brand I could buy other than Maytag. Seems Kenmore gets high marks.

Please save your money and do not purchase a the Bravos XL MCT Washer and Dryer! I am sickened by the fact that I spent $1,800 on the biggest pieces of junk there ever was. Youd think a company like Maytag would be able to build a product that worked properly. We are getting ready for our FIFTH visit by a service repair company that will only plug in their computers and say nothing is wrong. Well here is what is wrong: Washer does not rinse all of the soap and I have many, MANY, pieces of dark clothing that are ruined because of the white streaks all over. I have done EVERYTHING the service guys have said to do; use less soap; use the deep water wash cycle, etc. etc. There are only two of us in the household so my average load size fills the EXTRA LARGE drum maybe half full so all their advice hasnt worked. It does not rinse the water out of a load of towels (remember there are only two us so not that many towels) and I have to run it through a rinse and spin cycle. Waste of time, energy, AND money. I washed a single coverlet and had to run it through a rinse and spin cycle twice to get the water out! If you use the bedding cycle, it runs for 90 minutes and still doesnt spin all the water out! The dryer is not better either. On average, it takes one hour and ten minutes to dry 3 bath towels, a couple of hand towels and a wash cloth. One of the service people that came out, checked our dryer vent and said everything was hooked up correctly. Talk about a waste of energy!! I would do anything to get rid of these pieces of junk but we spent so much money on them Im stuck until I win the lotto or something! I cannot stress enough that you will be wasting your money if you buy any washer and/or dryer product from Maytag! Believe me, I regret it every day!

My Maytag refrigerator was purchased from Home Depot less than 3 years ago.
My Maytag refrigerator was purchased from Home Depot less than 3 years ago. It is a French door, bottom freezer draw model #MFI2569VEA1. Every four days, there is a huge puddle of water at the base of the unit and it is starting to ruin my ceramic tiles. I tried the online video solutions to no avail. Home Depot wont repair it, they told me to contact Maytag. Maytag wants me to purchase a $375 warranty, which is 30% of what I paid for the refrigerator. I will never buy a Maytag refrigerator again, or any Maytag product for that matter. They once stood for solid reliability and peace of mind, now you get a piece of junk instead. I cant even sell it on Craigslist if I wanted to because who would want it? If a class action suit is ever initiated, Ill be on board. I hope Consumer Affairs contacts me.

Two years old, single person owned and will not operate - At 2:00 am, April 25th, 2012; I went to take a load of laundry out of the washer. It was still full of water and would not operate. I am a single person. I do not do load after load in two years. In fact, I was doing a weekly load of clothing, nothing large. I paid close to $1,000.00 for this unit. This sucks and why only one year warranty? Are you Maytag? A Youigo car would run better than this. And they are built cheap.

I bought a Maytag Bravos top loader washer and dryer less than 2 years ago.
I bought a Maytag Bravos top loader washer and dryer less than 2 years ago. I started having problems with my dryer 3 months ago and after several service calls (and a few hundred dollars), it still does not dry our clothes. I spent over $1500 for the pair and was excited to have a top end washer and dryer. My biggest complaint is with the manufacturer, Maytag - they just dont seem to care. I did not buy the extended warranty for two reasons. First, I bought a nice unit and expect it to work properly for a reasonable amount of time (at least 4-5 years without any problems). Second, they are just a bad purchase and they cost about half of the unit and if you buy a nice unit, you shouldnt need one. I could have bought a new dryer for what I spent to try and have this one work properly. My wife and I spent $600 for our last set which lasted 7 years without a problem; they were manufactured by GE, which I now wish I would have bought another GE. My wife talked me into buying a new pair to accommodate the needs of our growing family. I wished I would have kept the GE pair that was working.I would not recommend any Maytag appliance: they really just dont care to provide any reasonable service to stand behind their products. What a shame. This reminds me of why many foreign manufacturers are beating us at what we used to do best - make products that last and work! The washer and dryer look nice and have many great features, but these dont matter much if they dont work.

We purchased our Maytag fridge on May 13, 2013. On June 19, 2013, it stopped working. We called Home Depot where we bought the fridge and they told us that we would have to deal with Maytag. What a nightmare. The repair guy came out and ordered a compressor for the fridge. 2 days later, when the compressor came in, the repair guy told us that the fridge was unrepairable. Great, what was I supposed to do with this hunk of metal now? I called Home Depot back, and they ordered me a new fridge, added a five-year warranty for free, and the Store Manager even dropped off a small dorm size fridge for us till our new one came in. Yeah for Home Depot!!!! I would recommend no one ever buy a Maytag product again - what a piece of junk. Their customer service didnt even care; they had the same old story - We will get back with you in 72 hours. Maytag was good when it was built in the US; now its just more China Junk.

After buying this dishwasher model MDB6759WWW3 in Jan. 2010, I fully expected it to work longer than it did! So far, the control panel has been replaced 5 times. The last time was Sept. 17, 2012 and already it is out again. I talked with Customer Service, since Georgia has a lemon law. After 4 times it is to be replaced. They had no record of the part that was replaced, just that a technician had come and repaired (by ordering the same part they had no knowledge of). This time they will either replace or instead of me calling, my lawyer will call. I will never buy another Maytag product and will encourage anyone else not to buy either. My daughter had the same experience with a refrigerator, a piece of junk they did nothing about. By the way, I have an extended warranty plan, which should not even be necessary!

Just like most of the other consumers, the control panel on my three year old Maytag dishwasher (MDB 6701AWW3) has failed for the fourth time. The cost of repairs and extended warranties has now far surpassed the original cost of the machine, which was $400. Today when I called Maytags customer service, I was offered another extended warranty for $316.05 for one year. I suggested that there was a defect in design but was assured that this was probably due to use of the machine. I guess if I left it as an unused space filler, it would last forever. They commiserated with my frustration. Never again will I purchase this brand.

I bought my Maytag Bravos top load washer from Home Depot. In one year. I had the Maytag warranty people out three or four times. The warranty ran out and I purchased an extended warranty from A&E. I have had them out at least five times.I called Maytag and they told me since that I didn’t get the extended warranty from them, that there was nothing they could do for me. I explained to them that this washer cost me over $900 and that I have had numerous repairs on the washer, in which the warranties cost me over $400 so far.How much do I have to keep paying for this lemon? Maytag will not do anything about it! This goes to show you that paying top dollar for a washer does not guarantee you will have a good product. In this economy we can’t afford for this to happen. This is a very bad product and Maytag will not stand behind their own products, but they are willing to charge the consumer high dollar for them. This is a disgrace!

Our Maytag Dishwasher, Model MDB4949SDE2 was purchased May 14, 2016 at Home Depot for $470. It has performed perfectly until January 6, 2020, when a noise, loud enough to imitate grinding wheel, happened with every Start-Up attempt. An independent technician advised replacing the pump motor, thinking that perhaps some popcorn kernels had lodged in the system. (Kernels were cleaned out of the drain filter.)We operated the unit after he left, and the noise began to diminish, eventually disappearing altogether after several loads. Today, February 26, 2020, the same tech found that the large, upper impeller was clogged (not rinsing completely) with citrus seeds and VARIOUS METAL SHAVINGS & SMALL PIECES OF WHAT WOULD BE CHOPPER BLADES FROM THE INTERNAL GARBAGE DISPOSAL. After reading the Maytag Dishwasher problems experienced by others (with repeated control panel failure, burning wires, leaks, and house fires), I consider us lucky to have none of those. We will not run the unit at night, nor with an empty house. Next problem, we will buy a Chinese made dishwasher, like GE.

Shame on Maytag! Customer Service is appalling! Paid 2500 for one of their top of the line refrigerator/freezer and had the repair people 5 times in one year. It was determined that it is a bad model number that Maytag wont recall but knows it is faulty. Started with ice build up in freezer making it sound like a plane taking off. It kept running trying to defrost (energy efficient-right). The repairman put in a request to have the product replaced based on symptoms and freezer being at 26 degrees. We had to wait five business days for Maytag to review it. I have a family and was having guests. They told me to buy a dorm refrigerator and they would send me a small credit towards it in 4 to 6 weeks. They finally agreed to replace the known faulty model, but I have to wait for the exchange team to contact me (2 weeks later). I keep calling and leaving messages but cant get the exchange team to even return my calls. I have my sons graduation this weekend and I dont have a freezer and my refrigerator is faulty with all my vegetables rotting within two days. It also took two days to originally get someone in management to call me back (even though it did no good - she cant help me). You cannot talk to management if you call customer service. They downright refuse! What a company!

This machine was in best machines of 2019/2020. It has many features. Ive had one day and have multiple concerns, I will be returning the machine. The dryer isnt great either. Had multiple loads not dry. On the washer, there is no interior light so you cant actually see items in washer to judge soap etc. Has a soap disp that is supposed to hold multiple loads, says 8. Ive washed over 8 and the out of soap alert hasnt come on as youd expect, but when I check the dispenser is full of water so who knows! Cant see inside so I have so way of knowing if there is soap that is still going in, should I add more or what? The alert bell is too quiet, cant hear outside of the laundry room. Multiple loads have not spun out well, leaving standing water and clothes too wet for dryer. Ive had to run a drain/spin cycle to get clothes spun out. It is supposed to connect to wifi but that hasnt been successful, plus, not everyone keeps a phone on them 24/4! Need a louder alert. I washed a sm item that threw it off balance. My LG washed a small floor mat with no issues. I do a significant amt of research before a LG purchase and I feel I was lead astray. I am not happy with this washer or dryer. I wanted to buy American made but this is not up to the standard I expected from Maytag.

Pretty much the same complaint as Ive read about the Maytag dishwasher control panel issue. I purchased ours in Nov. 2009, issues began in April 2011, and service call for $129 where the technician said it needs a replacement control panel. I spent another $130 for the part and warranty on this specific part. In December 2011, issues occurred again. I ordered a new control panel in January and was told 3-5 days, called after 10 days and was told it was on backorder and should be shipped sometime in March. Youd think the Maytag President would be embarrassed for producing a product like this that in my eyes has tarnished what was a reputable household brand. Not that it will do any good but I will mail a letter to the President. One positive, our kids are learning to wash dishes the way I did as a kid, by hand. I sure hope the new control panel we hope arrives in March fixes this problem for good.

We purchased a Maytag Jetclean Plus Dishwasher in June 2013. It worked well enough initially. We bought it because it had a large capacity and built in disposal. By August 2014, just after the warranty expired, the front panel gave out. To have someone even look at it cost $150. By following instructions from internet discussion groups by other people facing similar issues, we were able to get it to run in random mode. Programs were no longer indicated or selectable but dishes generally still got cleaned. Two months later a wheel fell off the premium rack glides. Finally after about 2 years of use, the dishwasher finally gave up altogether. At this point the stainless steel tub is no longer stainless. The entire device has worn poorly and looks shoddily made. This is the worst use of $900 I have ever made, and what tweaks me the most is Maytags attitude and their ludicrous warranty that barely lasts out the weakest link in the device.

I bought this wash (XL HD) 1 1/2 years ago. From the time the people installed it it never worked correctly. I have never wanted to beat up an appliance before, but this washer makes me so mad that I am ready to just throw it out and buy a new one even though I paid 600.00 for it and it was more than I would ever pay for a washer. I bought this so I could wash my comforters mainly. Well I cannot wash comforters unless I wash them 5 times or at least try to wash them 5 times or more. They get unbalanced and then the machine shuts off. After doing everything from changing the hoses like somebody else suggested, it still didnt work. Along my troubles with trying to rinse and drain I did find something new that I didnt know I could do for all these months is when you put your machine on rinse, spin, dry and the extra rinse light pops on, click it and turn it off, then it reduces the spin time to 15 minutes instead of 26. Also now I have to just let my hose drain on the floor of my outside wash room because if I hook it up through the wall to drain outside it just stops with the LF code. So I have 2 inches of water on my washroom floor and it really sucks. This is the only way I can get the machine to work without turning itself off. Very disappointed with this machine that appears to be so large (looks can be deceiving). It cannot wash hardly anything and this machine should be taken off the market. It is garbage. I really wish this did work because I have spent too much time trying to rewash, respin, get all the water out of the clothes so I could dry them. This should be banned and not sold by any store.

I have a Maytag dishwasher model mdb6759aws3. The control touch pad broke after 1.5 years of light use. It costs $475 to fix (includes labor). Completely unacceptable service provided by Maytag over the phone. The only concession offered was a 25% discount if I bought the replacement part (control touch pad) from them. After some internet research, I learned Maytag marks up their parts prices over 25% so they are really not giving you a discount at all.I filed a complaint with Maytag but they were unable to provide me with any evidence of doing such except for an 11-digit code. Due to a major defect, Maytag should have sent me the replacement part for free. I told Maytag I thought this was fair and that I would pay for the labor. I will never buy another Maytag appliance again! They are junk and the company does not practice common sense customer service.

We 19 years and gently used. The door latch broke. We purchased a used quiet series Maytag dishwasher and found that the door latch failed on this. I recently found over 600 complaints for the same problem. If you are receiving this many complaints and its one of your most frequent complaint, do you think its time for a redesign of the door latch mechanic is??? Or are you relying on your reputation and dont care about quality anymore? This is it for Maytag. Im glad we didnt buy a new Maytag because we would be stuck again with a crappy door latch. If you cant be bothered with fixing your door latch issues and you know that you have a long term problem here, you at least can send a new door handle kit to those of us who are complaining. Of course you wont do that. And the only recourse I have as a consumer is to tell others about the ongoing problem with your front door latch on my social media. Sadly, you are now only another crappy dishwasher with no real quality control. I bought several appliances from you because of your reputation for appliances that last. Seems that is now a myth.

My home has all Maytag appliances, all just over 2.5 years and I have had no issues with any of the other equipment excepting the fridge. The fridge itself works very well when it does, but some things are just wrong/flawed with the French door fridge.1. The Evaporator mechanism is flawed and keeps accumulating frost over the Thermistor sensor, which in turn shuts off the fan and the fridge itself stops cooling rendering all the produce bad within hours of purchase. The freezer and icemaker works fine during this time. The first time a tech came in during Warranty period and put come Aluminum foil over the thermostat and zip tied it and told us that the issue is resolved. Fast forward 18 months or so, same issue. This time they want to replace all parts since the last time it did not fix it. How convenient isnt it? So now I have to shell 500 plus bucks to solve what was not fixed the last time. Flawed design is all it is; do not purchase any of the French door fridge from Maytag/Whirlpool or be prepared to buy an extended warranty and a down fridge every 12-15 months at the minimum. In my case shell out 500 bucks every 15 months I guess.2. Sloppy icemaker: Ever heard of an icemaker that thinks and drops 4-5 cubes when requested and thinks again before giving another 4-5 cubes? We see it all the time at Soda fountains. This is what to expect off a Maytag ice maker. And lord knows if you have guests, they will run through the batch of ice by the very first meal and then the princess ice maker needs 12 hours to make another batch of ice.3. Noisy fridge: Ever heard a noisy fridge in a very quiet home? This Fridge excels at that. Just about the time it shuts off the compressor, boom it goes on again.

I purchased a small (14.5 cubic feet) refrigerator for my basement from Home Depot on January 26, 2013. It was delivered on January 30, 2013. On February 14, 2013, we found that it was not cooling like it was supposed to. The soft drinks in it were not cold. I called Home Depot and was told I had to call Maytag for a repairman to come out. Since it was so new, I felt it should be replaced. They disagree. The warranty only calls for repair. So a repairman came out on Feb. 19th. He said that it has no freon. He doesnt know why. It could have a leak. It could have leaked out in the warehouse. There is no way to know this. He said another repairman would be out to fix it on the 20th. On the 20th, no one showed up or called. I called the repair company, S & S Appliance of Bessemer. I was told the repairman that I needed is in Montgomery today and the repairman yesterday was told to tell me he would call me. He was told to not tell me someone would be out today. So now, I have to wait until tomorrow for someone else to call me and see when he can fit me in his schedule. I think Maytag has a problem with their refrigerators. I think Home Depot has a problem not standing behind what they sell. I think S & S has a problem with their servicemen. I am not happy with any of these companies and will never buy another Maytag refrigerator or washer, but thats another story.

The other buttons did light up but that did me no good, I need the start button. A few days later, none of the buttons would light up. I found a repair person who said it would cost over $200.00 to make repairs. I refuse to put another penny with no guarantee that this new part would work. I will never ever buy another Maytag appliance. The last inexpensive, unknown manufacturers dishwasher lasted me 13 years. Do not waste your money on this thing.

I purchased the Maytag Neptune pair in 2002 and was never informed of the product recall/class action lawsuit for the washing machine which occurred sometime around 2004-2005. We have had many problems with our washing machine over the years and ruined many clothes with what appears to be bleach stains, even though no bleach was used in the cycle of wash. I had to replace the board which controls the latch on the door and the clothes that are washed are not clean and have an undesirable odor to them. I would have been part of this class action; however, I was never informed of the lawsuit. I called Maytag today and they advised I could set up an appointment with a service person; they did not want to honor my complaint as the class action lawsuit has been resolved and they are not handling these types of complaints anymore. My children have started a new school after semester break and their brand new uniforms are now becoming ruined due to this defective machine that Maytag will not take responsibility for. What type of recourse do I have? I will never purchase a Maytag anything if this is how they treat their customers. Problem will not go away by hiding their head in the sand. Now I have to go out and purchase a new washing machine because Maytag didnt inform their customers of the inherent defect in their product and take care of them accordingly.

We purchased this Maytag washer. My wife liked it at first, but after a few months she kept complaining the wash stinks, and I can also say that. I complained to my wife about the smell of our wash, especially the wash towels. The wash was turning colors and some we threw away. My wife has been complaining about all this for months and years and said she will never buy another washer like this. Then about two years ago, she was having trouble with codes coming up. We called service, but didnt get any help, so I looked on internet and found the problem with the code. I took the washer apart and cleaned the tube out and the washer worked, but every now and then my wife needs to climb over washer and unplug, let sit, then replug back in and start it to get rid of code. My wife and I are very upset with this washer!

I bought a Neptune Washer in 1999. 6 years later (2005), it started making the 747 landing noise. It was implied that somehow it was our fault, maybe, something from my contractor husbands pocket. After all, it was a Maytag, and surely there could be no design or engineering flaw! (My daughter still has 34-yr.old one.) We were told the repairs would be so expensive. It would be wiser to buy a new one. Foolish me, I bought another Neptune to match my dryer. Of course, now this one has the same bearing problem and again its cheaper to buy a new washer. I am angry and not sure how to proceed. Any washer, but especially a Maytag, should last more than 5 - 6 years. I should not have to buy my 3rd washer in 12 years. And if I do, it certainly wont be a Maytag!

I purchased my Maytag Bravos XL MCT because It could wash King size comforters/bed linen. I needed a machine that was large capacity. Also it was an HE washer that cut my water usage down quite a bit and reduced my water cost. Also this machine did a great job of cleaning my clothes and household items. The features were good. Variety of load type water temp if it was delicate, bedding, denim and more. I have had it for 5 years and so far no problems. It came with a 10 year warranty.

I have had to replace the control panel on my Maytag Dishwasher 2 times in the last 4 years I have owned it. I diagnosed the problem using the serviceman repair manual which is located on the kick plate or lower plate for panel of your dishwasher. This is not one of the dishwashers that is listed on the recall list, but it is on the dishwashers list that Maytag suggested that you buy to replace your dishwasher that is on the recall list. If I could give less than one star I would. I purchased a Maytag range in September 2021, 33 days later the oven went out!! I have been fighting trying to get it repaired for months!!! The parts are not in, the parts have been shipped, oops we forgot to ship the parts, the technician is on vacation. You name it, I have heard it. After the phone call today, it looks like I will still be without a range at Christmas!! This is totally unacceptable. I purchased a Maytag because I assumed it was a good brand! Similar to dozens of others, we purchased a Maytag dishwasher from Home Depot in March 2011. Recently, it stopped working, dead - no lights, no action. Called Maytag and they referred me to a Maytag Repairman: Coastline Appliance Service of Huntington Beach, CA. The serviceman came out and spent 20 minutes, checked the door switch for continuity, and declared the control panel bad. How do you know its the control panel, I asked. Its my gut feel, based on experience, he said! He charged me $129 for the visit and said a new control panel would cost $380! After reading other posts online, I can only conclude that a new control panel (if that is, indeed, the problem) will also go bad in the next year or two. So, like so many others, were off to buy a new dishwasher - and we will never buy a Maytag or Whirlpool appliance again.

On May 11, 2010, I purchased a Maytag washing machine from Lowes. On June 22, 2011, the machine wouldnt empty out on the rinse cycle. Lowes was called as the machine was only one month out of warranty. They dispatched Appliance Plus for a service call which would be $80.00 just to diagnose the problem. It turns out the machine needs three parts - a timer, an ATC switch, and a rinse switch. All totaled, this will add up to over $300.00, plus the $80.00 for the service call.Appliance Plus tried to contact Whirlpool to see if Whirlpool would at least pay for parts, being it was only one month out of warranty. The answer took 5 days and the request was denied. I was told I should contact Lowes Service Advantage and maybe they could contact Whirlpool for a special consideration, again, being it was only one month out of warranty. I made the call and they said to give them two business days turn-around for an answer. On June 30th, Lowes said Whirlpool was looking for the serial number and I provided it. They told me to give them another 2 business days turn-around. On July 3rd, I again called Lowes and they informed me that they still hadnt heard from Whirlpool. Finally, on July 7th, I received a call from Lowes saying Whirlpool denied the request.

We have a Maytag Dishwasher Model MDBTT60AWB purchased from Lowes about 8 or 9 years ago. This model was included in the huge 2010 recall of 1.7 million units due to the possibility of heater-unit fires. For the last couple of years, its had a problem staying on the selected cycle: After being started on normal wash, it reverted to rinse only after a few seconds, but eventually quit responded to the selection of other cycles altogether. Removing the back from the door to expose the innards revealed the ribbon cable that connects the circuit-board head to the control panel had worked loose. Reattaching it provides a temporary fix, but it eventually works loose again. We suppose the screw holding the back to the door will strip sooner or later, but by then well probably be so fed-up with fixing it that buying a new (non-Maytag) one wont seem like a bad option.

We purchased a Maytag washing machine top load (#MVWX550XW) on 12-20-2010. The switch on the machine that starts it running when you close the cover went out under warranty. They put a new switch in and it only lasted a while. I had to pay this time, $240.00 for repair. Now again, 1-2-2013, the switch is not working. I think that it is a lemon. I called the company and they will not cover the cost. Instead they want to sell a warranty for over $300.00 for one year and then if I purchased it, then they would fix it.If I did that, I would have more money into the repairs then what the machine cost ($583.44). Isnt there a lemon law? It looks like I will have to get rid of this machine and buy a different brand. Yes, Maytag has let me down. I cannot recommend their products because of the quality and answers that they give. I cannot afford an attorney, which leaves me upset when somebody wont cover the cost of the third repair.

Our Maytag refrigerator was about a year old when we noticed rust on the edge of the stainless steel doors. I called Maytag and they were nice enough to replace the doors even though the warranty had expired by their standards. Keep in mind, the warranty starts when you purchase the product, not when you install it. We ordered our appliances from Lowes well in advance of our kitchen remodel so we would have them when we needed them. The time our appliances sat in Lowes warehouse used up two months of our warranty. Now, the new stainless steel doors are rusting and they are refusing to do any thing about it. Should stainless steel rust? Maytag doesnt seem to care whether their product performs the way they should. Its all about the warranty. Once the warranty lapses, they could care less whether their product blows up. Thats the customers problem. Whatever happened to building a quality product that lasted and customers bought for generations? Obviously, thats a thing of the past.My goal in writing this is to make consumers aware of appliance warranties. When I spoke to Lucas, a Maytag customer service supervisor, he informed me their products offered no warranty on the finish of the product. So, according to Lucas, the finish on your brand new Maytag appliance could flake off like dandruff and its your problem regardless whether its a manufacturing defect or not. Remember, buyer beware!

Its a shame that I bought into the Maytag equals quality and customer service falsehood. Same problem as the others on this site and undoubtedly thousands of other consumers that bought a similar refrigerator freezer combo only to discover puddles in front of the unit and a 1 thick slab of ice under the freezer drawer. I contacted Maytag parts and when I described the issue he transferred me to warranty. The warranty department acknowledged this was a known problem and they would supply the part, no charge for the part but I would have to pay the serviceman to install it. They would not however, send the part to me to install. The unit is out of warranty, of course it develop the problem until right after the warranty expired. I plan to examine the drip pan and figure out how to improve on the design myself. I will not replace any appliances with Maytag, Whirlpool, Kenmore, or any other major appliances from this group of companies... Beware!

It does NOT use enough water to clean or rinse the clothes. My clothes are getting stretched and worn. I have to run extra rinse cycles to get the detergent out of my clothes. We purchased this oven (MGR5775QDS ) along with a Refrigerator/Freezer, Dishwasher and Microwave on 2007 when we remodeled our kitchen. Since then the Refrigerator had to be serviced twice, the Dishwasher had a recall for fire safety - repaired, but I still have a scorched bottom tray, and the oven after self cleaning once has warped and the racks will not hold anything with any weight without collapsing. Maytag sent me new racks about a year ago, but that didnt help. I grill most of my meals or cook on the stovetop but on the rare occasion we try and use the oven it’s a nightmare. We lost a Thanksgiving Turkey and Easter Ham and recently a lasagna and a glass pan. Every time we have one of these events I search the internet in hopes that there has been some kind of recall on this model. It’s not safe. When the 20 lb turkey came crashing down, my wife was nearly burned by the juices that splattered and the house filled up with smoke. Happy Thanksgiving from Maytag - everyone go stand outside in the cold for 1/2 an hour while we clear out the smoke in the house. Recently when the rack collapsed and hot lasagna came crashing down, the glass/pyrex tray broke and left a huge bubbly mess in the bottom of the oven. Yay Maytag, thanks again - ruined a dinner, broke a dish and since we can’t use the self clean option, spent the rest of the evening scrubbing out the oven... and eating takeout food on Valentine’s Day. Sounds like the perfect Romantic evening right? I am so sickened with this company. We purchased all Maytag appliances because of their reputation. But now they dont even stand behind their products. What a shame.

The Maytag range was purchased locally in 2012. The racks kept falling as the oven cavity warped in a convex making the rack supports too wide. The racks fell at the best position to cook a turkey. This could be dangerous when lifting something like a turkey or pie with filling! I was told that the oven cavity is NOT replaceable and I needed to purchase a new range! $1,600.00 plus taxes were spent just three years ago and now Im being told it cannot be repaired, no parts are available and needs to be replaced! Im sorry but I feel cheated and hurt because Maytag will not give any concession despite my pleading. What a dirty way to conduct business! No concession except an offer to cancel the service charges so far if I replaced it with another Maytag range from Delhi Radio Ltd. Are you serious? Why cant wider racks be provided for in these cases? Just what kind of engineer would compromise the thickness of a ranges oven cavity? Then build the range in such manner that the defective part is not available and cannot be replaced? Its a sad day for Maytag! Shame on you! Ive seen Maytag washers built in Newton last 35 years of hard family type washes! Whirlpool has purchased the name, stamped their own products with the Maytag name, and rested on the fine reputation of the name brand. Everything else is different! The Newton plant is in mothballs leaving hundreds of proud faithful employees stranded. Its a sad day for me and many others who were duped by a brand name and got something completely different.

Hello, I bought the above top load Maytag washer last summer and shortly after purchase the spin cycle was accompanied by a load grinding noise. This became progressively worse per use and I contacted Maytag Canada. The experience calling is a challenge with often busy, and at times long waits. When I did get through on the line they were very good customer-service-wise and arranged for a local accredited company to attend my home and assess the problem. Service visit number one resulted in the lack of parts to fix, so I waited two weeks for the next visit with appropriate parts. Washer began to grind again, I called Maytag, another appointment was set, service call #2 again resulted in the SAME parts being replaced as service #1, and upon departure the washer immediately resumed grinding. Call #3 to Maytag and a 4th visit was scheduled to my home. This time with a different service provider, parts changed washer not fixed. Maytag called and this time I asked for replacement. Three weeks later I received a new washer. The version was updated so the drain hose no longer reached my drain pipe. Once sorted out, my first wash today with the new unit and GGGRRRIIINNDDDING.. I would not recommend this product. Will be calling Maytag again Monday.

It has extra pockets for little things and it has plenty of hooks and hangers to use for bigger cycles. Kenmore Dishwasher runs great. Very efficient and cleans the tough stains better than any dishwasher Ive ever used. I would recommend this to anyone looking to buy a dishwasher. Bravos XL Washer and Dryer (Maytag) is the worst appliance set ever. Not enough water in the bin, residue despite using the correct detergent, and clothes which do not even get fully wet during the wash cycle. I am so sorry I purchased this pair - I do like the heavy duty spin, and the dryer does dry (but the door clasp has somehow come loose and stopped working - has to be wiggled into place every time I close the door). The really frustrating part is the low water levels (and even bulky is less than a half a bin of water. I am attaching a photo with two sets of sheets, a towel and three wash cloths). Most cycles only put about two inches of water in the bin - appalling. And the long long long cycles - what is energy-saving about having to do a load twice and using more than an hour for one cycle? I wish I could adjust the water levels. Seriously disappointed in this duo. Sorry I wasted my hard-earned money on it. I was seduced by a pretty exterior.

I reviewed lots of reviews, and decided that the negative reviews ones were sour grapes or uninformed customers! WRONG! Do not buy this washer. I replaced a 16 year old Frontloader Bosch! Should have had the Bosch repaired, but wanted a topload for a change, new look etc. From day 2 the washer began to squeal during the early cycle and at the end as well. Maytag repair was out for an unrelated repair on another appliance. I told the tech about it and he suggested its brand new etc, give it time to settle in.Now 4 months in and another service call to tell me its nothing!! It squeals so loud I can not run it while in the next room. I have videoed it and sent it to the Maytag repair in Glenwood Springs, and he said I should load it only full enough to see the impeller at all times!!!! Forget a full load of work clothes or a pillow or blanket. Which is to be expected to be able to wash. He said I needed to spread the clothes out manually along the outer sides of the TUB only, prior to washing the clothes! not over the impeller. I am not kidding! This is a open tub, so the impeller is the little thing in the middle on the bottom. I advised him, I videoed the event and even with three socks in it for a test it still squeals like a (well you get the idea). Trying to get Maytag help, but nowhere. Matching dryer door hinge broke first week, it has been repaired. Not good quality at all for the top of line Maytag. Then Maytag Man must be busier these days, than of old.

Easy to check for yourself... looks like brown crap on the cable...if you have a meter, you can easily check it. Tried to repair it, very difficult, but I tried. NEWS?...I wrote a complaint to the Better Business B... and mentioned that this is a safety issue, which it is.Believe it or not, just received a call from the corporate office (Whirlpool) and they were interested...I actually got their attention. They said they would have someone contact me... she did today... so this is encouraging. I dont know what they are offering, but this poor design is a serious problem, and if you want to get in Whirlpools face better go through the BBB. I already have purchased a new part and am adding silicone to the cable to protect it from the heat...but Im really seeking full reimbursement because this is not going to end well. Good luck...

I bought a Maytag MMV1153BAW Microwave. Within a year, the electronic key pad started cracking from normal use. After two years, the microwave intermittently starts then just stops, with the key pad showing 0000. We must unplug the device, or turn the breaker off and on. I called Maytag about the key pad and they said it wasnt covered, and a replacement key pad cost more than the microwave. After two and a half years, we purchased a new microwave, and have sworn never to buy Maytag again.

Maytag Bravos XL: I purchased mine Nov. 9 2017. I so wish I had never bought this machine! It leaves soap residue and dog hair on my clothes and bedding. I have to wash everything 2-4 times. It’s beyond disappointing. My husband and I agree our clothes looked better dirty, BEFORE we “washed” them in this machine.

I purchased a Maytag gas range about five years ago. After about two months, I noticed that the paint on the burner grates was flaking off. I called the company and they told me it was cosmetic. I have since bought two sets of replacement grates. I call the newest ones my dress grates, which I put on the stove when I am having company. I use the damaged ones for everyday cooking. Last year, the panel flashed. It locks constantly. And often, the door would not open, unless we pulled the stove away from the wall, unplugged it, and that cleared the computer. So, after months of unsuccessful door openings, the handle finally fell off completely. And the door locks whenever the oven is turned on. You have to finish your cooking, press cancel, and wait until the oven cools off, and then it will unlock. I have tried pushing aluminum foil into the latch hole on the door but have not been successful. Sometimes I just put a spoon in the door to keep it ajar while cooking. This cant be energy efficient. Of course, it is out of warranty. I saw a similar complaint about the burner grates. Also, the paint has chipped in several places on the cook top and the disks are all chipped. I am never ever going to buy a Maytag product. Oh, by the way, I called a repairman. I paid $65 for him to tell me that to replace the lock mechanism and the door handle, it would be $400. I can buy a new stove for that, but not a Maytag.

This is the worse washing machine ever. Wish Id never have bought it. Clothes come out unclean, washer cleaner cycle doesnt work, water level is almost none, etc etc. I could go on and on, you get the picture. Coming here and seeing 100s of negative reviews and complaints many of which I suffer from as well, just clarifies how bad this machine really is. There has got to be a way to bring a class action lawsuit or arbitrary suit against them. Im pretty confident that there are probably 100s more who are dealing with this shoddy washing machine as we all are.

Maytag Bravo model MVWB750WQO. Bought this washer in 2009 for 1300 thinking it would last at least 10 years! Wrong! I loved it until a few months ago when it started making VERY LOUD noises during final spins. Sounded like the house was going to take off. Then today it started leaking water. Repairman said it needed a drum, seal and gasket. Would have cost 700-800 to fix. Needless to say we bought a new washer today, and it wasnt a Maytag!! For that much money I was expecting the washer to last a long time!

I purchased a new Maytag from Home Depot. It was delivered and installed by them on 7/20/12. Today is 9/18/12. It is less than 2 months old and the tub is starting to shred around the upper rim. I called to get it repaired. What a nightmare. First I tried to understand a Filipino woman through a bad connection. She advised me to call a different customer service number, 1-800-688-9900. I talked to Crystal. She called up information on me using my phone number. She asked for the serial number as she had the model number available from the online registration I completed on 7/20/12. I told her I do not have that and asked where it was located. I also told her that I was unable to get it at this time as I am handicapped. She advised me that I had to show my repairman the receipt or I would have to pay a $60 service charge. I get nervous about throwing good money after bad. So I then asked why. If the serial number is so important, why is it not a required info when you register online? She had no answer. I asked to speak to her supervisor. I waited 4 minutes. Enna finally came on the line. She gave conflicting info about my online registration. She said I was not registered online (if not, how did Crystal have all my other info including my model number? Why did Crystal tell me I had registered without the serial number?). Enna told me that the repairman could key in the serial number when he gets to my house and if my washer was under warranty, I would not be charged. Again I asked why, if the serial number is so critical to the process and with all the info they seem to have on me (name, address, phone number, model number, place of purchase, date of delivery, etc.), why is the location of this very critical number is not in the owners manual? Why do they allow you to register without it online and why dont they track sales and delivery by serial number? She was unable to address these issues. I asked to speak to her supervisor. She told me she would give me her supervisors name and number (Kim, **) but she would not give me a last name or contact information. She told me that she was the highest level that I was allowed to speak with.Bottom line, my Maytag is falling apart, getting through the red tape to get it fixed under warranty is silly. Maytag ignores its own concept of tracking by serial number and does not support the use of serial number by telling you where it is located on an appliance or requiring it to register online. Calling customer service is a joke! I was mad when my new $800 washer started to fall apart. Now I am just sad with the way we allow manufacturers to treat us. Mad about the way we allow them to operate in the United States. They create junk or junk parts overseas, products fall apart over here, calls for repair get routed around the world, and then they create more red tape and call it customer service. I made one bad choice. Hopefully, you are reading this and can avoid your own.

I loved my first Maytag combo unit and when that quit I bought another Maytag. The Neptune is a front load washer. I immediately noticed the door gasket getting moldy. I contacted Maytag whose response was leave the door open. Well, I did that and not only did I still get mold, but the light burned out. I recently started having trouble - the water doesnt drain and the clothes are still wet. Rather than have it repaired, I elected to buy a new washer/dryer unit. I would NEVER again have a front load washer and certainly not Maytag.

I purchased a washer/dryer, Maytag from Home Depot Nashville. It was delivered and set up. 02/24/17 the date of purchase, delivered 03/07/17. I have tried in every way to get the washer to wash properly, but to no avail. The water level doesnt cover the clothes, it takes 10 to 15 minutes for the wash to begin its cycle. It doesnt spin the clothes dry enough to put into the dryer. The washer makes all kinds of sounds thats drives you nuts while setting up to not wash your clothes clean. I have contacted Maytag on several occasion about this problem, they sent out someone to service the washer. Now, why would a brand new washer need servicing. Somethings wrong. It isnt functioning up to standards and they should give me another washer. Now on 05/18/17 the washer was serviced, I have called them again to do something about this piece of **. I was told that the only thing they could do is come service it again. Why, must this brand new washer be serviced every week. It doesnt make sense... I dont want this machine, I want my money back so I can purchase a machine that will wash my clothes properly. I purchased a secondhand washer and dryer from a used appliance store, it lasted my family 10 complete year. The only reason I dont have it now is because I wanted to upgrade, since I have never had a brand new set. What a disappointment. Everything that looks good from Maytag isnt good. I dont understand why they wont stand behind their product.Somethings got to be done about this. Maytag will not take my money 1,200 and force me to keep this malfunctioning piece of nothing. Im going to Youtube this product so the consumer can see how this product doesnt work properly, therefore they wont waste their hard earned money. I will be contacting the BBB Nashville, and wherever I need to. I will let the consumer know the make and model of this product and where it was purchased from. Maytag I want every penny back. And, should hold you responsible for ever time I have had to go to the wash house because my brand new set wont work, and your company wants to service it every time I try to wash. I purchased this appliance on the strength of the well known name, that was the wrong thing to do.

I wrote earlier about my dishwasher needing to have an electronic board replaced again. So I called the helpful (I say that with sarcasm in my voice) 800 number. My dealer asked me to call for help with paying for the new part. After an hour and a half of being cut off and put on hold, I finally got through to a person that could take my request. The gentleman explained to me about why they would not stand behind their product which was only 3 1/2 years old, and a replacement part that lasted only 11 months. He expanded on his thought about how it was too old to fix and the part was more than 90 days old. I am out of my $1,100.00 with no help in sight. Totally upset with this company and how they will not stand behind a poorly made product!!!!

We purchased a new Maytag Bravos X washer and dryer from Lowes in June of 2013. After a year and a half of normal use (2 people in the household) the washer needs a new gearbox bearing at a repair cost of $529.00. I called Maytag and spoke to a customer service representative who informed me that there was nothing they could do about it because it was past the one year warranty. I asked to speak with a supervisor who told me they would offer me a 50% discount on the bearing but would not pay for the repair work (the cost of the bearing is approximately $25).Needless to say I will not be having the washer repaired. We will be purchasing a new washer and it WILL NOT be a Maytag, Whirlpool or any other brand made by that company. Its just appalling to think a company like Maytag can scam customers the way they do by producing appliances that are of such poor quality and then offer third rate customer service on top of it. Maytags answer to the whole issue is selling everyone an extended warranty which we all know is as bogus as the companys integrity!!!

I thought I was safe in buying Maytag for all of my appliances in my new kitchen. I bought a double wall oven Maytag MEW6630DDS. I bought it in late 2010 and have had no issues until August of 2018. I rarely use the bottom but used it in August of this year to cook cupcakes. After baking them and leaving the kitchen for a short while I heard a loud explosive, shattering sound. I walked to the kitchen to see that the bottom oven door had shattered into a million pieces. Thank the good Lord that I was not near it. I contacted Maytag to see if there was a reason it would have done this. They said that there had not been a recall. They sent a repairman at no cost to look at it. He came, took it apart and had no reason for why it would have done this. He left it in pieces and said that he was ordering the replacement door. Maytag advised us to turn off the breaker to the oven. After a month without ovens, the repairman called and said that the part had been discontinued. HA! You think?!? It has the potential to explode. It should have been recalled, not just discontinued. Maytag offered us 20% off a new set of $3000 wall ovens or $150 to pick ours up for disposal. Talk about saving the company money and screwing over the unlucky recipient of a defective product. They ought to be ashamed. I am going to have to replace the broken glass with aftermarket glass. What is going to happen when I use the self cleaning option? What happens when the top door explodes. I am scared to use my very expensive wall ovens that I thought would last at least 10 years. Shaneka at Whirlpool said that people have appliances fail all the time and just have to buy replacements. Do all of them have to replace ovens because doors explode for no reason? I am not the only one this has happened to. I have found several other complaints of this on the internet. Why did they discontinue these door? I wonder.

First of all, Whirlpool owns the Maytag brand. Ive seen a few reviewers on here say I will never buy Maytag! Im buying Whirlpool from now on! I picture the executives smiling and nodding, Good. Maytag used to be great - machines lasted 20 years or more. Now they last about three. After one year, the paint on the washer was bubbling and coming off, and now its starting to rust. The warranty doesnt cover cosmetic defects beyond 30 days, and the warranty for the rest of the machine is only one year. Theres a reason for that - the machine will undoubtedly have problems after that. Multiple calls to Maytag/Whirlpool and they do not care. Terrible product, terrible customer service. 2 major repairs in 8 years, ridiculous! I was told power surges could cause it, however I have a WHOLE HOUSE SURGE SUPPRESSOR ON THE INCOMING 200 AMP SERVICE AND KNOW THATS NOT THE PROBLEM!!! Had the same CPU go out again in Nov. 2020 so, rather than pay $370 for the part plus labor, we bought a top loading GE with an extended warranty and factory 10 years on the motor. We will never buy another Maytag product again. We were told that we shouldnt expect to get more than 6-7 years from a washer now, ridiculous. Manufacturers are outsourcing electronic boards overseas to maximize profit and could care less about quality control!!! Junk!!!

WARNING: Do not buy a Maytag washer, unless you get a very extended warranty. My wife and I had A GE, but it wore out after only a few years. So, we decided to go with a Maytag, since they always claimed that the Maytag repairman had nothing to do, which leads you to believe that they never need service. WELL, 3 years and 10 months and our Maytag blew its transmission. Oil is leaking from the seal, and its on borrowed time. So, off we go to get another washer. Just keep in mind that Maytag, and Whirlpool are one and the same company, so buyer beware. Oh, yeah, forgot to mention, there is a sticker on the washer stating that there is a 10 year warranty. That is only on the drum, which never goes bad, and the electric motor. NO OTHER PARTS are under warranty unless you participate in the extended warranty. My wife and I are going to go out and look at some used washers. There are places that refurbish them, and they have a better warranty, believe me. I am hoping that we can find one WITHOUT A FREAKING COMPUTER BOARD in it. Cost to fix my washer, according to the accredited Maytag repairman is $560.04. I think I can get a basic washer that wont stop working after a few years for less than that. Just in case you are wondering, its only my wife and I, we only do laundry a couple of times a week. Its not like we wore the machine out prematurely. Thanks for listening.

Do not buy this dishwasher unless you get the extended warranty. We purchased this dishwasher in Jan 2014. The first one delivered was completely busted up (which was probably the delivery companys fault for not handling it correctly). Then we had to wait for the replacement one to come in to get installed. In Sept 2014 the control panel stopped working. It was repaired under the warranty but it took several weeks for the authorized repair shop to be able to come out, diagnose, order part, and then come back to fix it. Now March 2015 (5 months later) we had the same exact problem with the control panel. The repair company was unwilling to order the part to bring with them even though they already had it in their records what we needed due to the previous repair. It was going to $300 to repair it since they only warranty the repair for 90 days. We decided to replace our 14-month old dishwasher rather than put any more money into it. Shame on you Maytag for putting out such a bad product - obviously this is a common problem. It is quiet and does a good job of washing but to have it take several weeks to get a repair done combined with having a problem that cost 50% of the purchase price to replace twice within a year of each other, absolutely not worth the money. Should have just spent the extra on a higher quality product. Will definitely get the extended warranty on whatever we replace it with.

We bought this Maytag Bravos XL machine in Sept 2016. It has never cleaned the clothes properly, you cant even tell they have been washed! It also shakes a lot. They said they dont have a repair person in our area. Home Depot wont take it back. We are stuck with no workable machine. We have to go to the laundromat and pay 70 a week for laundry, plus the time, and we are out all the money. We paid Home Depot (thousands) for a washer and matching dryer. Bravos XL Top loading High Efficiency Low Water Washer and Dryer - I gave this washing machine a 1 star but would give it a 0 star or less if the choice was available. I agree with everything others have voiced about this washer. I end up using the bulky cycle for everything because it is the only cycle I have found that will use enough water to get the clothes moving around. All the other cycles are a joke. First you must put everything around the wall of the tub away from the so called agitator. Then about 2 cups of water enters the machine. It then goes into this high speed spin. In my opinion it just pushes any soil deeper into the fibers. The drum will then spin slowly and water will spray on the clothes for several minutes but the washer never fills with enough water to cover the clothes. Watching it agitate through the glass top is almost hysterical. Laundry is barely moving. The high speed spin they push as a selling point puts deep wrinkles in everything and the wrinkle control setting on the dryer does nothing for them. It is absolutely the worst machine I have ever owned. My husband has repeatedly told me to sell these and buy another set. I will be ashamed to sell it to anyone. Im not sure how the makers of Maytag got away with selling these machines. I know there are different models but from what I have read they all work the same. I replaced a very low end GE Washer and Dryer with this pair and every time I do laundry I wish I had them back. The matching dryer is very costly to run as almost every load takes 2 cycles to get items dry. Nothing comes out completely dry even if you put it on the more dry setting.

We were replacing a 4 year old Whirlpool Duet washer (bought on recommendation from sister-in-law) that needed the third repair and was putting holes in our clothes. We had purchased the warranty (which we had never done before) so Lowes gave us the choice of machines and we decided to go with the Maytag Bravos. Lo and behold, were still getting holes in clothes. Several repairman told us the issue is common and is caused by the force of the water flowing into the machines plus the rapid spin cycle which pushes the clothes through the punched holes in the tub and the clothes catch on the metal on opposite side of the tub. Turns out sister-in-law had the same problem with her Duet and (not knowing I bought the Bravos and had the same issues) bought the Bravos and also is still getting holes. So I know its not just me.We also have problem with the machine not putting in enough water so clothes do not come out clean. In fact, a lot of stuff comes out with areas that havent even gotten wet during the wash cycle. I just want an old fashioned machine with an agitator that fills the machine fully, washes my clothes and doesnt put holes in them.
