This Maytag bravo washing machine is the worst ever machine I have owned. I bought it new, and shortly after the 1 year warranty expired, I started having problems with it. I had a repairman come out. All he did was take out the trouble shooting guide, press a code, and wait. The machine told him that each function worked. Even though it did not work properly. He hid the trouble shooting guide inside the machine, so I cannot get to it. Now I have so many problems with this machine, that it takes me all day to do 1 load. This thing makes noises that I have never heard from a washing machine in my life. I would never buy another Maytag product, nor do I recommend anyone else to buy one.

We purchased a 3K Maytag refrigerator/freezer and purchased an extended warranty as well. 5 months later the ice machine stopped working. We called Maytag to get it repaired since its under the 1 yr factory warranty and they sent an appliance service company they contract with to repair it. 6 service calls and two months later its still not repaired. I called Maytag back to say if you cant fix it please replace it. They say it needs to be deemed not repairable to even consider replacement and that they would send out a different repair company. As of yesterday (9/(9/14) another month and a half and 5 trips from the second repair company and it still does not work, so I call Maytag again to complain and they give me the same line ....needs to be deemed unrepairable... How long and how many service calls does it take to fix a ice maker? How much work and how many hours do I need to miss to get what I paid for? I went to their website and it talks about how their mission statement is customer service etc, etc, etc..... Thats just a bunch of lip service and judging by the HUNDREDS of complaints I have read this is their standard method of operation.... I for one will not let this go and will be filing a claim in small claims court to get what I paid for..... BE WARNED if you are looking to purchase a appliance.

We paid over $800 (more with installation) for this quality dishwasher. Within one year we began to experience problems with this unit. The top control panel easily becomes water logged causing the device to fail.

I called Sears to have a simple repair done to my Neptune washer and received a quote for $800.00++. They gave us a coupon to get a new washer at Sears and we did. Last week my dryer broke and I looked the repair up on Youtube. It looked real simple. A quote for $270 was given to us. Again a coupon if we wanted to buy new. It seems to me Sears jacks the price up on its parts and labor in order to push the customer to buy new. So far its worked for them and Im sure everyone else as well. Its not going to work out for Sears this time. Im no longer doing business with them and I will do the repair myself. I still got stuck with the service call but that will end as well going forward because I know now what the game is. Shame on you Sears. Double thumbs down for my Maytag Neptune washer and dryers.

We purchased a Maytag Bravos Quiet Series 300 in June 09. The dryer timer has malfunctioned since shortly after purchase, it will add time near the end of the cycle, sometimes as much as an hour or more. We have had factory authorized repair firms (tried several) attempt to fix the problem both during the original warranty and extended warranty periods. They replaced the mother board twice and the moisture sensor on another occasion. All to no avail. Maytag has been worse than useless in the whole situation, and now will do nothing. It seems our only choice is to live with it, keep replacing parts, hasnt helped yet, or buy a new dryer. You can bet it will not be a Maytag!This situation is dangerous, if left unattended when the malfunction occurs the clothes and interior of the dryer get extremely hot. It is a potential fire hazard.

I purchased a Maytag electric slide in stove, in stainless steel. The aqua clean is a joke, ran it for three cycles after cooking one roast and it does not work. Then to add insult to injury I had to get on my knees using a turkey baster to remove what was left of the two cups of water. The finish on the front is coming off. Not at all what I expected from a 1500.00 range. Poor quality. Now there is the sound of a fan running and I am not using convection.

I use a late model Maytag front loader. It does a great job cleaning and uses very little soap and water. To date I have NOT had to call the repairman to work on it. All in all I am VERY satisfied.

I have had a Maytag smoothtop stove for over 20 years. The only drawback has been when someone left an empty pan on a hot burner. Some of the pan melted to the top which could not be removed. I have to get special pans to conduct the heat, too. Overall, I love it. It has a self-cleaning oven, too, which is a bonus.

I had a GE washer and dryer when I first moved to my new home - lasted 15 years. Then... bought a set of Maytag and they have both been the biggest pain in the world. Spent 3000 and Im ready to toss them after 3 years. Dont buy Maytag!!!

Fire Danger. We had a power outage and my Maytag gas range/double oven (Model: MGR6875ADS) was dead after the power came back on. We figured it was the control board and braced for the expense to replace it. A few days later, I plugged the oven back in just to see if it would work and it did! The control panel came back on and we were up and running. The good news end there. On Christmas Eve, we came home to a house full of smoke with fire alarms buzzing. A butcher block style cutting board that was on top of the range with Santas cookies on it was on fire. Twenty more minutes and the house would have been gone.

Bravos MCT - I researched online and bought the highest rated machine that had the features I wanted. I like the top loading and the less water used. It cleans well but I would like more control like water temperature for example. I have had this washer about a year. I also want quiet but did not get it in this washer. That is tough cause you dont know until you have it! I think that it is hard to buy big appliances and be happy with them at my age because at 70 years old you remember when a washing machine was built to last a lifetime! Now they last maybe five years and they cost as much or more! I am not interested in lots of the bells and whistles. I just want a washer that will last and does its job. Mine has a glass door in the top so you can watch your wash (I guess..). Well, who wants to stand around and watch your wash...get a life!!! Also, it fogs up right away so you couldnt see it if you wanted to. It all seems pretty silly to me but I guess that is the way the world works today. So I go with it and I watch my wash.

Maytag 2000 series front load washer - f you are looking for a front load washer DO NOT buy a Maytag! I purchased a new front load washer dryer set late 2013 and have regretted to washer ever since. Continual electrical problems, door gasket needed replaced almost immediately AND the worst part is that it has ruined over $1000 worth of clothing due to it trapping cloth between the drum and door and wearing holes in them. No matter how I load the clothes or sort them it continues. I have contacted Maytag and was told I have no recourse as the warranty is over. I was very disappointed because I have had Maytag products in the past and had no problems. Please, think twice before buying this washer! It will cost much more than just the ticket price!!!

I have NEVER written a review however I am compelled to write up and if I can save at least 1 family from making the mistake I did then my review will be worth it so just before Christmas last year I treated myself to a new washer. I looked at so many. Only 2 things on my wish list were 1) American Made and 2) have a large capacity for blankets and bedding. Well, I was so excited about my Maytag Bravos XL Washer but my excitement didnt last long. 4. There is a major design flaw in this machine. I have given it plenty of time and have tried to talk myself to liking it but when you have to wash the white loads at least 3 times to get them clean and still not getting the results expected then its time to admit to yourself that I made a mistake.The large capacity drum is an irrelevant because once the clothes are wet they become too heavy for the drum base to actually agitate the clothes. What ends up actually happening is your wet clothes sit in a pile. The user tends to scale the loads back to help the machine. The above problem is partly due to the fact that the machine NEVER fills up the drum with enough water to submerge the clothes where perhaps they would be able to move freely with the base agitator and the drum rotating. This model was marketed as water conserving however we find ourselves washing loads 2-4 times to achieve the desired outcome. Conserving water at this point is a joke... we end up using more water and energy to get a load of clothes clean.Bleach dispenser does not empty completely during the white cycle even when less than recommended measurements are used. If a load of whites needs to be washed we have to wash with bleach on the 1st go, and then 2 more cycles without bleach. Otherwise anything washed after the whites gets spots of bleach on them. For these and many more reasons this machine should NOT be on the market and especially not for over $800 USD! And I would not want this product to represent US production. It does not deliver on any of its selling points and is overpriced.

No matter what we we do we still have soap residue left on clothes, even when we do the 2nd rinse cycle (what a waste of water). We use the correct amount of HE detergent and we use the detergent dispenser but it doesnt helps. The machine just doesnt use enough water. We have removed items that still have DRY SPOTS on them when the cycle is done. Areas that have never gotten wet after a 45 minute cycle. Never once had this happen with an agitator machine. I have Maytag Neptune washer and dryer that was purchased in 2002. Theyre still going strong. Its a great size for empty nesters like us, but if you have a big family, you might want to consider a larger capacity.

Do NOT purchase a Maytag dishwasher. What happened to the Maytag repairman being so lonely. Now he has lots of company in the way of angry consumers. Purchased a Maytag dishwasher and less than a year later the control panel failed. It was still under warranty but the service person just tweaked it instead of replacing it. Now, less than a year later it has failed and will cost over $200 to replace and repair. This is disgusting.

We purchased our Maytag Bravos washer/dryer in January of 2012. In October of 2013, I noticed that the lid would not close properly. In examining the lid, we discovered that the screws were in tact but the information panel on the inside of the lid had come unglued causing the lid to be obstructed from closing properly. After calling Maytag we were told that they make a quality product and, in what I consider to be a condescending reply, could not help us. Replacement of the lid with the service call would cost almost the cost of this expensive washer. So disappointed in what we thought was a wise purchase!

Brand new washing machine model MHW8200FW purchased at Karls, a Ferguson subsidiary, in Madison, NJ end of June, 2017. I wanted to buy a top of the line machine and this is what the sales person recommended to me. Problems started soon after purchase. Initially I contacted Maytag because the machine wouldnt spin dry a cotton bath mat weighing 4.5lbs soaking wet. I was told I should put more items in the machine to help balance it. Well there WERE more items and the machine wouldnt spin dry them either. I tried every trouble shooting Maytag suggested. Having exhausted my nerves, I called for service. The technician came and said these machines are extremely sensitive and that sometimes they wont even run an empty cycle. He said this is a common complaint with these units. One of his suggestions was to take bath mats, duvets, comforters... articles like that to a laundromat.I did less than 10 wash cycles after his visit when the washer started having more issues and finally broke down completely. The technician who came this time wrote a repair order indicating a mechanical (Stator) AND electrical (Control Panel) breakdown ($500+ for the parts alone if the unit wasnt under warranty). He also stated that he had never seen such problems in a brand new machine.I contacted Maytag for an exchange. Maytag customer service wrote to me that the breakdowns are ... normal, with all the units we sell some may have a defect in the first couple of months... and refused to exchange my defective unit. I can accept that there may be a defect that will warrant a repair, but in this case there are multiple defects in separate systems - mechanical and electrical - within the first month of service. This shouldnt warrant any further discussion, only a quick replacement and an apology.

Maytag used to make a great laundry machine. The barrel of the Bravos XL machine is very deep, and it is difficult to reach the bottom of the machine to get clothes out. My biggest complaint is that the clothes dont get clean; there is not enough water filling the machine to clean the clothes. The clothes get wet, but there is no agitator, and the water isnt deep enough to suspend the dirt and wash it away, even on the deep wash setting. There is also a lot of lint left on the clothes that cant rinse off. Why is the barrel of the machine so deep if it only fills up 1/6 of the height? I had great hopes, but I really regret buying it.

I purchased a new Maytag fridge apx 8 months ago (model# MFF2258VEW6). It has french doors and a bottom freezer and from day 1 it has constantly leaked water all over my kitchen floor. I started putting towels in front of it after my first slip and fall. I had the water line checked for the ice maker and it was fine. It continued leaking day after day. Then I started getting a lot of ice build up all over the drawers and on my frozen food, which became freezer burned and I only had the temp at 2. They have a warranty on it, so called the company and they brought me a loaner fridge of the same kind.. OMG this fridge is doing the same exact thing, even worse. I am disabled and fell last night again and my leg and foot is so swollen.. I really hurt myself and Im not going to let this company get away with this!! I called the company and told them and they are checking into what they can do with the refrigerator. After reading all the about the Maytag bottom fridge leaks and other problems, I refuse to get the same one again. If they do not do something, I promise I will before I get hurt again!

The 2013 Maytag dishwasher panel broke 13 months after the purchase. After several phone calls and complaints they agreed to replace the panel at no charge. Since yesterday I have the same problem and need them to replace this washer. I am on a limited SS income and I am not in a position to purchase another washer after 3 yrs. My previous one lasted almost 15 yrs. This is totally unfair and I hope that Maytag replaces this entire machine, not just another repair. It will cost them a lot less to do that by either sending or having LOWES to replace this one. Thank you so much.Updated on 09/16/2016: Maytag is asking $300 to fix it and they will not replace it. So, by coincidence a friend of mine had the same problem and she did the following and I repeated these steps and now dishwasher is working. Turn off the switch or unplug, or turn off from the circuit box, your dishwasher. This cuts off electricity to the washer totally. Wait 30 seconds. Push the cancel button and hold on pressing it for 30 seconds (precisely, not less). Push then, the start button and hold on for 30 seconds again. Turn on the power and the cancel light will come on and let the cycle finish do not touch anything, until it is turned off and the light goes off by itself. Then, choose your selection for washing push start and see if it works. It did with mine and hers. Good luck and LADIES- YOU CAN DO IT, if this little old woman did it by herself.

Brand new Maytag dishwasher, model #MDB6709AWBO, installed after one year warranty because of extended time needed to complete kitchen. It just never worked. Repairman says control panel faulty. Sears wont help or replace. Sears’ service is extremely poor, over one hour on phone transferred over and over and then told too bad by a Supervisor. After checking this site, I realized Maytag suck. And what to do now that I paid $700++ for fancy dishwasher that doesnt work. By looking at other peoples complaint, it will break down over and over.

Bought Maytag Bravos from Home Depot in Dec 2010. Wife didnt like the way it cleaned clothes right from the start. It wouldnt get clothes as clean as her 20+ year old washer. 2 1/2 years later and her $900 washing machine needs $600 in repairs. My wife will finally be happy with the way her washing machine cleans again because we are purchasing a new one this week, and it wont be a Maytag.

I have always loved Maytag but this top load washer is a bust. I purchased this higher dollar energy efficient washing machine to hopefully get the value out of it for years to come. Model MVWC565F. 4.2 Cu Ft. I use good quality liquid laundry detergent. I launder adult clothing (including business casual wear), sheets, towels and pet blankets. Occasionally the 20+ something children do their laundry while home. I often have dry spots on my clothes where they never got actually wet. I switched to only using the deep water cycle; however, this does not immerse the load in water. The smaller my load the less likely to get clean. Ive adapted to only have large loads but I still do not feel my clothes are getting clean. I often have to run the load a second time to not only remove ordinary day-of-wearing smells (very noticeable in socks for example) but to get them all wet and free of soapy/linty-like spots left on the clothes from the washer (most notable on black leggings, dress pants, etc). I always do my towels and bedding separate from daily clothing, so this is not coming from having a mixed load. I have also noticed that the load takes much longer (up to 2 hours) for my washing cycle. How is this energy efficient? It uses less water but more electricity? I miss my old fully-immerse-in-water washing machine that washed in under an hour! Love the dry that I bought with this but not the washing machine!! I do not recommend this washing machine!!

I bought the dryer (Maytag Gas Bravo Dryer) from Home depot in December of 2010. The thermostat went out in July of 2011 and has replaced the same part 5 times up until August of 2011. Then they put a new burner with a thermostat and it lasted till June 1 of 2012. Now the warranty is out, they want me to repair this piece of **. I will never buy a Maytag product again.

We have a similar problem to the others who gave reviews on their still NEW Maytag refrigerators. Ours isnt even four years old and several weeks ago we started smelling a chemical odor which then permeated all of our food in the refrigerator and freezer. We didnt buy the extended warranty because we have owned a few refrigerators and all have lasted just fine for 15+ years with no problems. So I called Maytag. They said for a charge of $369.95 they would schedule a repair and would cover the service call, parts and repair and provide an 12 month warranty. If the service call results in an inability to repair the refrigerator, they will refund the full amount of $369.95. So I asked if Maytag would then replace the refrigerator, and the rep said we have to start with the service call before they would discuss any type of refund or replacement. Im angry and disappointed in Maytag. Its a good thing we have a spare refrigerator in our basement. What a hassle! Weve already had to throw away over $100 in food that picked up that horrible odor. Shame on Maytag!

I purchased a Maytag Bravo Washer in October of 2011, I had a repair man come to check it since the spin cycle sounds like a jet is revving its engines in the laundry room. He told me that the repair cost is $493.50 to replace the transmission. The machine also has problems with the circuit board. The lid lock goes on and off and on and off so you cannot run the machine. Speaking to Maytag they just kept saying your warranty is over and we dont offer any assistance on the repairs. The machine cost $530.00 in 2011 and they think its reasonable to have repairs more than the cost of a new washer. They said they had no complaints on the model. My repairman advised not to buy Bravo, Cabrio or Calypso models since they all have the same problem with the transmission and electronics. I think they should at least pay for the parts, the transmission is $300. And we didnt even price the electronic part of repair.

Do not buy this dishwasher unless you get the extended warranty. We purchased this dishwasher in Jan 2014. The first one delivered was completely busted up (which was probably the delivery companys fault for not handling it correctly). Then we had to wait for the replacement one to come in to get installed. In Sept 2014 the control panel stopped working. It was repaired under the warranty but it took several weeks for the authorized repair shop to be able to come out, diagnose, order part, and then come back to fix it. Now March 2015 (5 months later) we had the same exact problem with the control panel. The repair company was unwilling to order the part to bring with them even though they already had it in their records what we needed due to the previous repair. It was going to $300 to repair it since they only warranty the repair for 90 days. We decided to replace our 14-month old dishwasher rather than put any more money into it. Shame on you Maytag for putting out such a bad product - obviously this is a common problem. It is quiet and does a good job of washing but to have it take several weeks to get a repair done combined with having a problem that cost 50% of the purchase price to replace twice within a year of each other, absolutely not worth the money. Should have just spent the extra on a higher quality product. Will definitely get the extended warranty on whatever we replace it with.

I am a regular customer of Leons and used to buy all my home appliances from them, because I trusted their quality and service of their products. However, last time I bought French Door Maytag refrigerator from them, about two years ago, we suffered from defects in this type of fridge. The problem started before one year when my wife saw some leakage of water on floor in the front side under the fridge freezer door. In the beginning, this was occurring once a month or every two weeks, so she didnt think it would be a problem or it might happen occasionally. However, the water leakage now became worse and almost every day. We had to put a towel permanently under the freezer door to dry the water which appeared ugly. Also, I had couple of accidents that my child slide over because of that water leakage. I spoke to one technician, he told me resolving this type of problems is not guaranteed because the problem will appear again or after while. He said this could be a manufacturing defects in this type of Maytag fridge models!!! Another problem appeared also one year ago, that one of the door handle started to shake very little, but now it looks like moving from its position and there is no way to fix it!!!Therefore, when I requested the help from Leons they told me that, You didnt buy the extended warranty and we cant do anything for you!!! You can talk directly to Maytag. Then, I send email to Maytag explaining the problem. They even didnt bother to reply or call me. Now, I feel that I was bluffed by these companies. I didnt think that I was buying a $2,000 refrigerator to scrap it after two years. That is ridiculous when you buy defected product from them, but they dont care to resolve the issue.

MDB7749SBW - Purchased a new dishwasher from Home Depot & had them install it. It worked for 6 1/2 months & the control panel blinked & went dead. I did some research & found there were a lot of problems with the control panels & even a class action lawsuit. I went to Home Depot & they said contact Maytag & brushed me off. I set up a repair per warranty & all was fine for 10 months & same problem has happened again. I told them at Home Depot to replace the unit since nearly every repair job on the control panels prematurely fail again every time. I am going back to the Home Depot again. I do have older Maytag appliances that perform as required & I do know Lowes would have replaced the defective dishwasher.

Maytag may have pay to replace defective controls. 1-866-931-7384 is the number to call. I have owned my maytag dishwasher for about 18 months. Its control panel was never great, but now my dishwasher wont work at all. Apparently, the tiny inside the control panel rust away because they arent sealed.

At first my dishwasher worked great and I have always been really good about rinsing my dishes before I put them in. Starting a few months back I noticed my dishes were coming out gritty then all of a sudden it started backing up into our sink.

Model# MVWC200BW1 bought in 2015 tangles/stretches clothing. This machine is/has been a true disappointment. The agitator wings are not attached at bottom allowing clothing to get caught and as the agitator turns, so does the clothing causing stretching and severe tangling. Poor design compared to the agitator that would rise and fall - those got clothing clean and did not ruin them. I cannot trust this machine to moderately cost clothing for fear of their demise. The lock-down mode is not convenient for those last minute added items. Will not be buying Maytag/Whirlpool ever again when another machine is purchased. This is a piece of rubbish!

I purchased a stainless steel (freezer bottom) Maytag refrigerator Model # MFI2670XEM0 in Oct 2012. Since then its been a nightmare. The repairman has been out four times, once being a week after I purchased it. It leaked and ruined my kitchen floor. Call Maytag, they didnt want to hear about it. As of this moment, I have three more things broken on the unit. My ice maker literally takes 3 days to make ice, the alarm on the door is broken, and the plastic crisper cracked and now will not stay in. Called Maytag again and they stated that they will not replace the item with one of equal value. They just keep repairing it. I will NEVER EVER buy another Maytag product again. I spent $1700 on this product and had faith in the Maytag product. That will never happen again. Shame on Maytag for not standing behind their products.

Dishes did not get clean. Bowls would stand up when you placed them in the dishwasher, then fall over when the door closed and came out dirty. The rims of glasses were not clean. I had several 3 service calls and changed dishwasher soap several times per their suggestions. I contacted Maytag and was told that the only warranty was for mechanical problems and since the problem was not mechanical there was no warranty. I then went through the Better Business Bureau. The ultimate decision from Whirlpool was It has been determined there are no defects with the dishwasher and the issue is use and care. Mrs. **s request for a refund is respectfully denied. I have purchased a new dishwasher which does clean the dishes and the Maytag is sitting in my garage gathering dust.

I was sooo excited to get this very very very expensive washer and dryer only to have the worst disappointment and let down...the washer in particular is horrible!!! It doesn’t wash!!! I thought I was crazy until I started reading all of these other reviews and found that many more people have had the same experience as I have... The tub never fills with water and the clothing never gets clean. I would love to start a class action against Maytag and get my money back or get a replacement.

Maytag is a reputable brand name for a washer & dryer. However, they have done very well in the oven/range industry as well! I own a oven/range for over 4 years now and it works great???! Food is cooked to perfection and cleaning???? And self-cleaning is a snap!

I was pleasantly surprised that this basic model would work so great! It really gets the dishes clean. It came with the house so I did not choose it and probably would not have bought it if I had to shop for it.

I have a fairly new washer Maytag model #MHWE500VW serial #CSY0303991. I need Part # W10415587 doesnt excist for my washing machine anymore. Its been on backorder since Apr-May 2011. Maytag/GE insists that they are not responsible. As long as they can say backorder technically they are not liable for anything and dont really care that me the customer is having a problem and they Blatantly refuse to even investigate. I spoke with a GE supervisor just today and she basically told me wont help you because my appliance is out of warrenty. And she explained to my that my complaint will go into a file that no one will ever see. I searched the internet only to find hundred of other consumers are waiting for this same part. Ive called distributors & manufactuers. Same answer, backorder. My warrenty people are trying very hard to help me but again Maytag/GE refuse to help. Very dissappointed with this company. Wont be purchasing Maytag/GE products again. Wheres that guy in the commercial with nothing to do when you need him??

Our home has seven Maytag appliances: an upstairs kitchen, downstairs suite and laundry room. All were brand new six years ago and what we thought to be good quality by the price we paid for them. We have lived to regret ever dropping a cent into Maytags business account, as we have had nothing but trouble with them. We dont have small kids or teenagers abusing them. Its just us and a very responsible single adult downstairs. And every time we turn around, one of them is costing us nothing but money and grief. Our first problems began with our upstairs fridge when it was only two years old. At that time, it cost us $400 and since then, it just goes on and on. Last week, our downstairs fridge quit, and today, our upstairs one quit. We have had work done on our range, as well as our washing machine and dishwasher. If you are thinking of buying a Maytag appliance, dont, unless you like to throw away your money. I couldnt believe when I looked up Consumer Reviews on Maytag appliances tonight that I would find only 1 out of 5 stars, and read all the terrible reviews written by angry consumers. Well, add me to the list because I will never buy another appliance from Maytag again, and am beginning to think its time to sell this house to get rid of these stupid, useless, pieces of ** Maytag appliances! Sorry, people, but I cant afford to keep replacing them!

Like everyone else Im calling corporate. Mr Fettig he should be in hall of shame after these complaints with their defective product. My fridge leaking, ice maker broken, water everywhere and eight inches of ice. I wonder if he owns a Maytag himself? Oh well after a while he might have a flood on his floor. This should be recalled just like my first model in 2001 that was a fire hazard. I had to go to the top then and I will now also. We should be protected from buying garbage while he makes 4 million a year.

In April 2010, I replaced my washing machine (still functioning after 12 yrs) to upgrade to what I believed to be the top of the line Maytag Bravo 5.2 HE washing machine. Module # MVWB850WL0 type: 580-02. This machine of 3.5 yrs leaks underneath and after having the service tech come to look he advised me it will cost over $800 to fix (I paid over $900 for this unit). He says its the bearings and went on to ask me if Id been using the HE laundry soap (as if Im an idiot) and went on to ask whether Id been washing bedding. SERIOUSLY?!? !... After much research on this issue, I discover that there are similar complaints all over North America. Very disappointed and I want this lemon replaced by Maytag.

We bought a new Maytag Bravo series thinking we were buying the best product... not! The washer has been running great. But when it came time to clean the washer on the Affresh cycle, the washer overflowed. It turns out the washer fills up higher on the Affresh cycle than it does on the regular wash cycles. Well, that’s why it overflowed; the plastic tub that hold the water had a freaking crack in it near the top! This washer isnt even 3 months old. I had to get a repairman in here once to check it out, then again to come back and fix it. At least it was under warranty. Im afraid what else will happen. Piece of crap Maytag, great quality checks! Maybe hire some real people that can see what the hell they are doing in quality. I told them about the damages to my basement. They sent me paperwork to fill out. Forget it, the paperwork gives you the runaround!

I cannot even begin to describe my disappointment in these overpriced machines! Bought a 4-year extended warranty when I purchased and two weeks after warranty expired, my heating element went out on the dryer. This repair cost over 300 bucks. Six months later the washer was making some crazy noise and service guy could not find the cause...another $120 bucks. A few months later the same noise...this time a coin had slid under the bottom plate and caused damage to the machine...another service charge of over $200 bucks plus I purchased an extended one year warranty at $189 bucks. Thank goodness, because now it is throwing an LD code and will not drain. Oh and I forgot about the service call for the latch breaking on the dryer door...another $119 bucks. The repair guy felt sorry for me and didnt charge me for the part. Tangled clothes when washed and forever to dry. Next time I will buy an inexpensive set like I had before that lasted 16 years with no problems! This stuff is junk!

We bought 10 18-lb washers about a year ago. They are a maintenance nightmare. For example on June 5 7 out of 10 machine were out of service. One has been down since Jan 20 and the others for various lengths of time. The guarantee for these machines has been misleading since the parts for repair are never available. We are losing business and money because of the Maytag failure to provide equipment that operates as advertised. We need help now.

I cant warn you enough NOT to buy this design flawed machine. Ive only owned mine two months from Home Depot, the install was a nightmare and now due to a poor design flaw, if you miss loose coins or anything in pockets it will get trapped between the drum and the tub causing rattling and noise during spin cycle. Guess what? Service calls EACH time this happens. This is nothing more than a $750 piece of junk. I feel like its marring the whole feel of my new house. I hate hate hate this washer and am trying to get Home Depot to take it back, Maytag to refund me or sell it at a huge loss. This is NOT getting anything you pay for and I vow to NEVER EVER buy Maytag again.

This washer has no agitator post and doesnt seem to clean as well as ones with agitator posts. I have heard that they are easier on your clothes though. The dryer works well enough, but I believe the control panel/motherboard needs replacing. The signal sounds even with the dryer turned off, which is startling to my dog and me. I reset it by flipping off the 220 breaker in the garage and leaving it off until the next time I do laundry!

First we bought the washer and not even a month after it was ruined. In the span of the year that weve had it, it has broken down about three times. Then we bought the matching dryer in August and by the beginning of December it has broken down. Called customer service and they are not coming until January 18. Have me waiting over a month to fix it. Worst brand ever and even worse customer service. Never again will I buy anything from this brand.

Bought this Maytag XL washer and dryer in September 2012. In January 2014, the washer stopped working. Service guy came out and said the electronics went out. Then in May 2014, the dryer died. The dryer door latch broke. Would not stay shut. 2 days later, the heating element went out. Again, the service man came out. This service man said that this model is subject to break downs. This Maytag is a piece of junk. I went out and bought a Whirlpool, which I had before. I would never buy a Maytag again. I paid over 2000.00 for this Maytag and it is the worst washer and dryer I have ever had. Apparently, the Maytag repairman needs to get his butt busy. I have the Maytag now on my sunporch, waiting for the junk man to come and get it.

This is the WORST washing machine I have ever had. You cannot control how much water goes into the machine and the clothes being washed are not even covered by water. They stick out above the water at least a few inches!!! How can anything get clean if no water is touching it! I even add water into the machine at the beginning with jugs of water just to cover the clothes... the machine automatically gets rid of that extra water and when the wash cycle comes on again the clothes are not submerged! I paid A LOT of money for this awful machine and Maytag needs to do something about it! And, yes there is a sticky gummy substance on all the dark clothes! I even put clothes in the washer with a dirt spot on it purposely and the spot is always there when the wash is done. Nothing gets clean! DO NOT BUY this machine... you will be very sorry!!!

Purchased a new Maytag washer top load/Dryer set on April 1, 2016. Having trouble uploading receipt but I paid 1,145.83 for set. It took 2 weeks to get it delivered on April 15. 1st use it shook and wobbled even though the load was balanced but Ive read that is a problem with these machines. 1st load of clothes, washer didnt fill with enough water to wash properly - 3-4 inches of water for a full load of jeans. Top 2/3 of clothes hardly got wet! Changed the setting, same problem. Changed the setting again, same problem. I had to stand at washing machine and keep lifting the lid to get more water in the machine. Clothes didnt rotate in machine so all the clothes on top half didnt get cleaned. The spin cycle is scary! You could hear clunking noises and it had nothing to do with load being balanced. Did a small load and same thing with water level and spin cycle. Called Home Depot to pick up both machines on next business day. The dryer lint trap is so long, it made a mess trying to remove the lint even after only 1 load. NEVER AGAIN MAYTAG! Ive never regretted an appliance purchase like I do now. Maytag and April Fools day are a perfect match. Only its for real and not a joke.

Bought in July 2015, brand new from Lowe’s or Sears. When working to its full potential it never cleaned clothing very well, had no designated spot for detergent or softener, just bleach. Just last 3 years and it’s a piece of crap that has to be replaced. Going to argue with the company to tomorrow to get them to replace the broken transmission which may or may not be considered part of the drive motor - all **. This is a very expensive machine that didn’t last a month beyond 3 years! The 10 year warranty covers the 2 most rugged parts of any washer... the agitator never truly cleaned my clothes and now it is fused to the wash basket and cannot even be replaced without being chiseled off. Worst machine, purchase, and brand ever???

Purchased refrigerator with freezer on bottom. Purchased because made in America and husband raised in IA. Have had water leakage on floor every other day. Disconnected ice maker thinking that would help. NOT. Poor workmanship. You were good, WHAT happened?

This is the most horrible washer ever. Within 3 months it would not go beyond sensing mode and never fill or wash. Tech came and fixed it... 3 times. It still happens and I have to jiggle it all around to activate it. Clothes are never clean, dog hair is never washed out... My broken old agitator machine was taken to the dump & I wish I had it back! How do the stores give this machine a good rating?? I cant do light quick washes, I have to wait forever... Our water bill is 2x higher than ever because if I dont fill the tub with deep water, the clothes dont even all get wet. Hate, hate, hate this thing.

Purchased a Maytag dishwasher (Model #MDB7749SAW1) in January of 2013, installed in February. A little over a year later the control panel went out. I called Maytag and they were kind enough to pay for the part and I had to pay for the service. Now it is July of 2015 and the control panel is going out again. I called Maytag directly and talked with a service representative and the best they could do for me was for $269.95 they would have it fixed and I would have a one year warranty as well. Based on the pattern the warranty is not going to help as it goes out just after a year. For only having it 2 1/2 years it is becoming a very expensive dishwasher. There should be a recall on this control panel. Very disappointed.

Bought a Maytag Model #MDB8949SAMO dishwasher. After LESS THAN 2 years the motherboard stopped working. Called Maytag to complain, but was told they couldnt do anything. I would give the dishwasher less than a star but the rating system wont allow it.

Side by side refrigerator model #msd255oveu01. I bought this refrigerator Apr. 2011... The 1st year, the ice kept sticking in machine or freezing up. Now they have had to replace the modules 3 times. Once fall of 2012 and and again yesterday, 3/19/14 and they had to come back today to replace that one. I have called Maytag and they wont stand behind it since the warranty is over. I have told them that this is an ongoing thing with the ice maker and I have had to have it serviced ever since I have bought it. I told them from the git go that the ice maker needed replace. The ice dispenser also drops an ice cube on the floor on occasion and if I use crushed ice it jams up. This product is defective and is not a good product.

I have a similar story to Patricia. Been without a fridge for over a month. Refrigerator is almost brand new (bought last year) and a service-person has been out three times (going on 4) to fix it. The fixes NEVER work and then they have to order ANOTHER part and I have to wait for the part AND THEN the service person. I should not have to wait once the part comes in. People who have been waiting should be at the TOP of the list. Then again, this is Maytag...probably EVERYONE has been waiting for a fix.Ill never buy a Maytag appliance again unless they give me a new appliance, pay for the apartment sized refrigerator I was forced to buy while I waited--I have 3 children who need fresh food--and replace the $300 worth of groceries that went bad when I was assured the second fix would work (they wont replace my refrigerator--if they do, Ill be satisfied--unless it breaks in less than a year, too).

My wife and I bought the Maytag Bravos XL Washer and Dryer Set from Lowes in August of 2015. It came with a stated 10 year warranty, but started having problems early in the 4th year. The washing machine direct drive motor has become very noisy which is a preliminary sign of direct drive motor failure. The dryer now heading into its 5th year has a a burnt smell, and we do not use it due to it being a fire hazard. Our previous washer and dryer set had lasted from 1998 until 2014 when we purchased this set. We paid over $1100.00 for this set. There is no way that we WILL EVER PURCHASE OR RECOMMEND a Maytag washing machine or dryer. They used to be excellent to good appliances the lasted a long time; however, that is not the case at the present. This is absolute the worst washer and dryer set I have ever owned. The quality of build and longevity is suspect. It is obvious that it is engineered to be a constant replacement item instead of one of quality and longevity. We will more and likely purchase a GE washer and dryer set. The Maytag Bravos XL Washing Machine balled up my dress shirts and left wrinkles that the dryer was incapable of removing. I am aware of the issues with Samsung and LG washing machine and dryers when a problem arises. Whirlpool and Maytag are the same company. Maytag used to be synonymous with quality. That is not the case. Buyer beware. Do your research and do no rely solely on the salesperson at the store that you are seeking inquiry before purchasing. We went The Home Depot and received honest customer reviews about serious issues with the Maytag Bravos XL Washing machine and dryer sets. This set was highly recommended when we purchased them new at Lowes in 2015. I am also considering the Speed Queen Commercial Washer and Dryer sets that are available for consumers. This set makes the laundromat owners happy. Never again will we purchase a Maytag Bravos XL Washing Machine and Dryer set!! We learned a very expensive lesson!!

I purchased a Maytag refrigerator back in 2005; right around the time Whirlpool was making a play for Maytag. What a mistake! I had previously owned a GE that lasted 19 years! I even selected a model that did not have any ice in door or water in door that are prone to problems. In the 8 years I owned it, I had a serviceman to my place at least 4 times and dumped around $600 into it! Today the final straw... the compressor went! I will NEVER buy a Maytag again!

I have a Maytag Bravos washer and on almost every other load, the dark clothes (mainly slacks) come out with white splotches on them and then I have to re-wash the pants and the splotches go away. Ive had this Maytag microwave for about 4 years and the magnetron had to be replaced. The keypad was replaced three times due to SE code shutting down unit which happened again. When I explained this to Maytag, they said it is out of warranty. I explained to them that the last keypad which was replaced was only 6 months old. They replied but the unit is out of warranty! I would never recommend Maytag or any affiliated companies to anyone.

Purchased new Neptune stacks in 2002 and had several service calls on our expense and we noticed the hinges on the washer door were rusting! Ordered new ones from dealer but rust continues and has spread to top of machine over the bleach dispenser. The metal is falling off! Bad rust on the inside lip under door also. I contacted Maytag when I first noticed rust and they blew me off so I contacted the local dealer we bought from and they did nothing to help. My Maytag Series 300 Dishwasher would not start. I read the reviews and took the door off (easy if you have the right tool), removed the control panel box (one screw), and cleaned the ribbon with electronic cleaner as per someones suggestion. It started right up. This is a bad design. Would I buy another Maytag? - No way! We will see how long this lasts. There is no seal on the door to keep out humidity. Do we really need a new control panel? When this is done...I am done with Maytag!

Maytag Centennial washer - Bought this washer brand new and after the first 2 months started having issues. The washer took FOREVER to fill and to complete a basic load took literally an hour or more. Then within the next 7 months it stopped spinning out the final spin cycle. Spin light would flash as would lid lock but wouldn’t spin the water so I had to manually unplug the machine then plug in out cycle on drain and spin and that worked 50 percent of the time. Repairman came out and said could be a number of issues but he said honestly it would cost me a lot less to just go buy a new washer! This is INSANE! I grew up with the Maytag repairman commercials and thought Maytag was still top of the line but LEMME TELL YA, IT AINT! The Centennial is a total piece of crap so PLEASE don’t purchase this machine as I can promise you will NOT be satisfied! MAYTAG, STEP UP YOUR GAME BECAUSE YOU SUCK.

I find this Maytag dishwasher just ok, nothing special. It doesnt seem to clean any better or worse than other dishwashers I have had or used in the past. It also seems to get really slimy under the inside of the door.

This is probably the worst place ever to buy any appliances. They are extremely unreliable and the technology on them sucks. If you wanna buy new appliances I highly recommend you spend your money elsewhere. The customer service is extremely horrible and is a disgrace. Shame on this company. I am a WWII vet. I bought a Maytag dishwasher 4 years ago from Home Depot... Cost me $600 in total repairs. Maytag would not help. My son just brought it to the dump! At that same time I bought a Maytag bottom freezer from Home Depot... It has never worked right. Ice dispenser broken after 1 year, food freezing in fridge at any temperature... It just died! This is a review of a washer that is no longer sold. I bought a top of the line Maytag washer 45 years ago. After around 25 years the control (all mechanical) started sticking during the cycle. I opened it up, sprayed it with TV Tuner cleaner, worked it a few times, and it has worked perfectly ever since. That is the only problem or repair on that machine since it was purchased!

I really liked my Maytag Bravo X washer. Until, at less than 2 years old, it started having issues. It all of a sudden starting sticking in the spin mode, then it wouldnt turn off even though the cycle was complete. I have to pull the plug out of the machine it to stop from continuously running. I was charged $104 to have a certified tech come out for 15 minutes and recalibrate it and it worked for another month. It started having that same problem again and now, I have learned I need a new control board, which costs over $200, plus labor, over $60. The Maytag service rep I spoke with was very pleasant when she told me she spoke with her supervisor and told me there was nothing they can. So now I dont like my pretty new machine at all, and have to decide if I should stick almost $300 into getting it fixed again, or buy a new washer, NOT A MAYTAG! As I voiced my complaint on the Maytag website I saw that there were many of the same complaints about the faulty control board and am wondering what does it take to get a recall?

Purchase a top loader washer machine in Nov 2014, it is now Jan 2015. It is not completing drain cycle, leaving wet cloth. I am Not happy with the service. I had the tech people come out 3 time and saying to call customer service, and they keep sending out people. They do not want to give me back my money. Unhappy, waste of money, will not get another Maytag appliance again.

Please do not buy a Maytag washer top loader. It does not get enough water and it does not clean your clothes. It is the noisiest cheapest made machine out there. Maytag Centennial eco conserve clothes washer - I purchased a Maytag (non-agitating) washer, (model MVWC400XW) just about a year ago and I cant tell you how dissatisfied I am with this product. It does not clean the simplest of soil from garments. I have actually had clothes come out of the washer after a complete wash cycle, with dry clothes. They recommend putting soap in first, at the bottom of the washer and then load clothes; I have had clothes come out stained as a result the clothes sitting on top of the soap. I am requesting that I be able to return (have this washer picked up) from my home and replaced with a washer with an agitator or a compatible washer that actually washes clothes. I believe that this may qualify as a lemon with regards to California lemon laws.

I am 86 years old and have happily owned Maytag washers for many years. I just recently purchased the front loading model for ease of access. After using it for sometime, I could not be more disappointed. The clothes come out smelly, stained and gray. I tried using affresh washer cleaner on hot setting and the tablet did not even dissolve. There is black mold growing and must be cleaned constantly. I am so sad that my favorite company has let us down. I cannot afford to buy another washer so I am stuck with this lemon!

I spent over 2000 on a Maytag refrigerator. In less than 5 years, the coolant system has gone out twice! The only response I get is, “We are sorry, but it is 5 years old.” Are you kidding me? My husband and I purchased the Maytag dishwasher model #MDB7609AWW2 in December 2010. July 2012, the control panel would not operate. I called Sears to schedule a repair appointment. (I did not have an extended warranty.) After reading review after review of complaints about Maytag and control panel issues and learning it is a very costly repair, I called Whirlpool which now owns Maytag. (Be advised, Maytag is not the quality product it once was). Reviews also indicate that the replaced control panels are failing within 6 months to a year and a half. After talking to a person in the Maytag/Whirlpool service department, he suggested some things to do: unplug power, unlock control panel, etc. He determined it was most likely the control panel that needed to be replaced. I asked how long a new panel would last informing him of the complaints Id read. All he would tell me was that I had the option to buy an extended warranty. We have decided not repair the dishwasher and will replace it with a non-Maytag and non-Whirlpool brand. I will never buy Maytag or any products made by Whirlpool again. For a major component of the dishwasher to last only a year and a half is unconscionable.

We bought this washer in 2009. It has only been 5 years and we had a problem with the lid, now it leaks on the floor and most of all it has been rusting on the lid, the sides and rusting around the bleach port. Rusting on the top edge of the outside metal skin. I am not happy with this product at all. The serial number CV0870202. Model number is MVWB800VQZ. It is a quiet series purchased on 2009. I am not happy with the quality of this washer and I will not buy another Maytag.

I purchased my Maytag Bravos washing machine set in July 2007. In May 2011, I had to have the shocks and another part relating to running a balanced load replaced. I spent about $500 on those repairs. The parts to replace the shocks took more than 6 weeks to arrive! Roughly one year later, the plastic water pump has broken and needs replacing - another $100 part plus labor. I always believed Maytag was a reputable company, but I am very sad at the quality of the product I purchased based on their reputation. They should be ashamed! To date, the dryer has been good - knock on wood!

Okay, on March 2009, we bought this brand new microwave due to our major remodeling. We didnt move into the unit until February 2010, so the microwave was in its box for 11 months. After we moved in our condo, my husband and I had to travel for work for almost a year so our brand new microwave is very slightly, gently and barely used. Well, for the past 2 months, it had been acting up. Sometimes it heats, sometime it doesnt. For a 2 year old microwave, which we paid over $400, I would assume that it would last. It no longer heats up, so I called Maytag customer service to hear her tell me its not covered under the warranty and would cost $269 for repairs and there was nothing she can do for me unless I pay for a technician to come and repair it! No way, I swear it probably got used 5-10 times a month to heat up coffee for about a year. I am sure there are some major quality issues on this model because when I googled Maytag microwave, all I see is the same magnetic problems. I spoke to a group of my lawyers friends. If youre interested in joining a class act law suit, please e-mail me. I hate that people are being taken advantage of by these terrible companies. I cant believe how low quality their customer service and products are. Believe it or not, my $30, old microwave lasted me 14 years throughout my college years until we decided to replace it with the modern stainless steel one. It got noisier in time but not broken and still heats up just fine. This $400+ one lasted me only for several uses. Shame on Maytag, when I have time, I will be sure to write a complaint to the consumer department as well. I will dedicate my life in spreading the word out about their low quality product. Don’t buy Maytag unless you only plan to use it for a year or 2.

We owned Whirlpool front load prior to the Maytag set we now own. Our Whirlpool was the better one. Shorter wash cycle, better cleaning & never had a problem with the seal. Maytag dryer doesnt signal properly when laundry is dry. You have to go multiple times. I wont purchase another Maytag set. We owned a Maytag top loader set and they worked like they should have.

We bought the combo Maytag Bravo 300. The issues with the dryer are that it doesnt heat right, have to run the thing twice, after the first 50 minutes the clothes are still damp and it sounds like its going to take off. We had a service man tell us that it was the fan blower rubbing. Now for the washer. It sounds like a b-52 taking off in spin cycle. I know that its the bearings, bearing kit 80 some dollars plus the bearing tool another 80 some bucks. Dont think Im going to invest in Maytags game. If there is ever a class action lawsuit please put me down or notify me.

We purchased a Maytag Bravos washer & dryer in September 2012 and 2 1/2 years later March 2015, no heat. We called a repairman and he said heat element went out. When researching this problem online I was shocked how many people had the same problem as we have. It cost over $300 to fix and I am concerned that it will just break again and again after reading these reviews. I think that a class action lawsuit may be needed so that this unfortunate situation does not continue to happen to other consumers.

I bought a Maytag Bravos washer and dryer two years ago. A week after the one year warranty was up, my dryer broke. That was in October. It took me until February to get it fixed, but within two months it broke again. It has taken me until now to get it fixed again and they found the same problem; the thermal fuse blew. Both times it has cost me over $100 to get fixed, but I still cant use every part of the top panel; I can only use timed dry cycle. I’m expecting the dryer to go again. The repair man had to re-glue the seal that went around the drum. The vents were all clean and were blowing fine, so we’re not sure why this keeps happening. Our family have always owned Maytags and they have always lasted for 20+ years. I am so disappointed with Maytag at this point and will never buy another again. Go back to the old days, Maytag! By the way, has anyone noticed they dont run the Maytag commercials anymore, because I have!

Bought va washer. Trying to upgrade. Water fills about 1/3 of way even on bulky setting. Supposed to be high efficiency. Detergent does not get all the way out because there is no enough water. Have to put it through 2 rinse cycles. Worst machine. Design is flawed. Clothes all wrinkled. I cant afford to buy clothes and have them ruined. Man must have designed. Hate the washer. Im poor and they want take it back... want my money back. I cant buy washer every day. I will keep on complaining. No customer service. People just put you off. It is a Centennial high efficiency. I had my Maytag washer and dryer just barely over 30 days. My washer sounded awful and I had to get a new motor. Then my clothes would come out with dry spots. Not enough water. The computer was replaced and within a few months of purchase, all the major parts of my washer were replaced. I hate it! My clothes still come out with dry spots and it is loud. Worst major purchase I made. Dryer so far has been ok.

My experience is very similar to Richards below. I have an MDBH979AWS3 that was purchased new in April of 2010. Just over one month after my warranty expired, the touch panel ceased to work. Since it was no longer in warranty, I had to replace it out of pocket. The wiring harness to the old panel looked heat damaged. Last winter, the central computer died. The machine was useless. I called Maytag customer service and actually seemed to find a sympathetic ear. They agreed to a new part if I paid $129 for one of the two companies doing certified repair to install it. During the summer, it blew several fuses. Then in late November of this year, the touch panel went again. I hesitated on how to respond and waited until after the holidays to call them. I got the most rude customer service rep that Ive dealt with in a long time. Somehow, I was blamed for a misdiagnosis on the computer panel (duh, no, that was a different issue and it was indeed broken), accused of misuse of the dishwasher, and flatly told that they werent going to do anything more on a machine. So far, out of warranty. Im sorry, but I cant accept that a machine under 3 years old should have 3 major failures. Maytag has to step up and at least look at this problem. From what Ive read, this is a common problem that has resulted in several fires. Maytag has to know about this and continues to do nothing, not even issue a recall on the current touch panel used. I am now faced with putting another $100 in (which puts me at about $350 total on a machine I paid almost $500 for) or just buy a new product. Rest assured I will never buy another Maytag-Whirlpool appliance.

I purchased this dishwasher about eight years ago, and I love the performance and the stainless steel interior. I never have a problem getting my dishes clean. This product definitely lives up to its reputation. Going forward, I would definitely buy the same brand if it became necessary.

Maytag Neptune MAH8700AWW and MDE9700AYH Washer and Dryer - Electrical overload to house circuit, multiple water pump replacements (Maytag would not sell rebuild kit with impeller and gasket or seal causing us to have to buy complete water pumps with mounts and motor.), electronic error readouts, odor and mold washing machine. The welds breaking on the drum causing possible fire hazard by filling case up with dryer lint fibers, around the electrical components, and air intake heater and also allowing metal fragments to get imbedded in the familys clothes. Also, Maytag Oversize Capacity Plus Quiet Pack Heavy Duty with Lifetime Tub.

It's mounted above the stove, ten years old and still looks & operates like brand new. Have never had a problem with it and it's used almost daily. From heating up food to making dinner & popcorn. This is the longest lasting microwave I've ever purchased. Maytag made a great product.

Do not buy a Maytag dishwasher with model # MDBH969AWB1. I bought this dishwasher last Dec. 2010. I could not use it for 2 weeks, because the door would not shut. The repair man came & fixed the door. Then when I actually got to use it and after it finished running the cycle, the tub was dripping with water all over--top, sides, door, bottom. I had to dry the dishes on the top rack, and I had to leave the door open for days in order for the inside to eventually get dry. The first thing I noticed about this dishwasher when it was installed was that it was smaller than my other dishwasher. I hate the design because of the way they have made the racks plus because it is smaller--it holds less dishes than my old one did. I could actually get almost twice as many dishes in my old one than I can with this one. Do they not think of asking the consumer about what they want in a dishwasher instead of going ahead and making something that is not functional?I am so frustrated with this thing; it has brought me to tears. I just today went to Sears and looked at their Kenmore dishwasher. It is designed more like my old one than any of the other makes out today. I wish I had checked this out, before I bought this Maytag. Weve always heard how Maytag is at the top of the line with no problems, right? Dont believe it. I will never buy another one. Whoever is designing these dishwashers need to go back to 1990 and take a look at how it was designed and then go back to making them like that. I loved my older dishwasher, and I wish I had never let them take it away. I wish I had taken the money I spent on this ridiculous Maytag and had my old one fixed no matter what the cost. I made a terrible mistake.If you have an older dishwasher and it has given you good service for years, I suggest you have it fixed and keep it, because you will not like the performance of what they are selling today. It does not matter what brand you buy, they are all designed the same. Just take a look and compare them. But if you buy, please check out the Kenmore. I dont know if the performance is better, but the racks are better designed. My old dishwasher was a Hotpoint. It was the cheapest one on the market, and it gave me the most wonderful service ever. The dishes were always very clean, the heating element was fantastic, and it always dried the dishes completely. I cant believe they would make a product like they do today and sell them for what they do. The heating element in them today is not as good or strong as what they used to make. That is why the dishes wont dry properly. You get way less than what you pay for. Thinking a new dishwasher is the way to go, think again. Please, if at all possible, keep your old one and have it fixed over & over again. I hate this dishwasher. What a joke on the unsuspecting buyer.

Model # MF12269VEQ1 French doors with bottom freezer - This refrigerator was purchased March 2011 and it is forming a sheet of ice on the bottom of the freezer. We tried unplugging it overnight to see if it would correct itself and it hadnt. I googled this complaint and called the manufacturer to see if there was a recall. It seems a lot of people are having this problem. Several comments are to pour hot water in the drain plug or use a blow dryer to to the plug; however, you have to disassemble the whole bottom freezer, then unscrew the back to get to the drain plug. I feel this is a defect in this refrigerator.This unit was approx. $1600.00 and should not be having this type of problem. Who knows if I could actually get to it to try these things, that it could keep recurring. Im very upset as my husband and I are seniors on a fixed budget. We bought the name Maytag because we thought they built good products.

Like many of the other complaints, control panel lights up but dishwasher will not start. It has had minimal use and is less than two years old. For a product purchased for around $800, it should have lasted far longer. Repairs will cost close to the cost of replacing entire unit. Do not buy Maytag. Their reputation is ruined in my eyes.

We spent $600 on a Maytag Jet Steam Plus dishwasher and its junk. We bought it in May of 2013 and the top panel is burnt out and the ribbon or control wires is corroded. Maytag wont pay for replacement parts and I wouldnt recommend anyone buy Maytag again. I thought it was supposedly a good brand but its nothing but garbage.

I am grateful I dont have to beat my clothes on a rock. Absolutely the worst dryer Ive ever had!!! Previous Kenmore washer was my favorite! This Maytag does not allow me options to stop, soak & freely open & close as I choose. Even my adult children who occasionally use it say its the worst!

I purchased the subject Maytag washer (MHWE201YW-3.5 CU FT WHT FRNT LD WSHR) from Home Depot in December of 2012. I got exactly 1 year of use and then the washer stopped working. I called the Home Depot repair person who came and repaired the unit. The repair lasted two weeks and the washer stopped working again. Because the unit was no longer under its 1-yr warranty the Home Depot repair person was not available for repair. Another independent Maytag repair person came and evaluated to problem. He said the computer which is located on the motor was no good and to the tune of over $400.00 (parts and labor) a new motor was purchased and installed. It lasted two months and it quit working again. After several months I was finally able to contact the original Home Depot repair person for one visit. He said he would check the code message and get back to me. I never heard from him again. I have been taking my laundry to the laundromat ever since and it is getting expensive. I dont want to spend another $400 on this machine as it will only break again. What do you recommend?

How many times do we have to go without a washer? We have to wait on service to check/see how many times it has to be fixed. This is since we bought it.

We are in the process of replacing the 2nd control board in the past 2 years (have has this dishwasher for 3 yrs) on our Maytag dishwasher model MD87749AWW1. The lights on the panel completely quit working mid cycle. At $175 per replacement, we are into repairs for half of what we paid for the dishwasher. Bought Maytag because it is made in the USA but found out that a majority of the parts are imported from China? Very disappointing.

My Maytag refrigerator has driven us up the hill and back and has taken us several months in order for us to get the issue solved. This is quite an expensive fridge freezer and the after service has been diabolical to say the least. All their service calls in the UK were handled by a third party and it seems that there is some sort of change of ownership between Whirlpool and Hotpoint so after all the previous visits by different companies the problem of water leaking unto our floor is still going on and now all their call are being routed through a major insurance and a utility company who are more interested in trying to signing you up on one of their insurance policies than fixing it.To make matters worse the contractors they use are absolutely useless when it comes to fixing american style refrigerators. I was told I needed various parts which would have cost hundreds of pounds or that the appliance was uneconomical to repair. All of which was untrue. This I later found out when after emails after emails Whirlpool passed on the contact details of a service agent ags refrigeration who came out and found that there was a fault with the water in line connector at the bottom of the refrigerator which they replaced.

Got the dryer free when we moved into our townhouse. We had been doing 2-3 loads a day for almost 8 years. The dryer was old when we got it. No complaints. Just wish there was some way to fix it. But mechanic said, No way. Almost a valued member of the family. Say 2 loads a day, 7 days a week, 52 days a year. This is a lot of loads. Remarkable. New machines cant do that today says our mechanic, they are not built to be fixed. Now, when broke, replace, don t fix.
