I purchased Maytag washer, as it was rated the best of the best at the store. First of all, Delicates cycle washes exactly like Normal. All my sweaters got ruined as the agitation is VERY HARD. I dont think the manufacture even knows what that cycle means! Absolutely awful! Theres no difference between Delicates and any other cycle!Second, Deep fill cycle. If you select off on that cycle the clothes get hardly damp. HOW can you wash hardly damp clothes???? If you go with Deep fill, the washer is supposed to weigh your laundry 1st and ONLY pour the water according to the weight. Well.... you can put only 5 small items and the washer fills all the way to the top! What the hell is this???? How can few items fill such a ginormous washer???? It doesnt work! Im so pissed and want this washer out of my laundry room!

Im very pleased with both the washer and the dryer. The front-load washer is very efficient with many washing options dependent on items being washed. Spin cycle spins very well which lessens the dry time of the washer.

In May 2007, I bought a matching Maytag Neptune washer Model MAH5500 and dryer. I also bought the 3-year extended warranty. Approximately 4 years later, actually 1 month after the warranty had expired, the washer started to get very loud and sounded like a jet engine taking off. I called Brennen Repair Service in Midland, Michigan. The repair man came out and said he did not even have to look at the washer. He knew what was wrong. The bearings were going in the machine. He said I could fix it for approximately $600 or just run it till it quits. I was furious. I called Maytag and explained my issue and was told that there was not a recall and they could do nothing to help me. They even told me that they had not had any complaints of this nature regarding this model. I told them they were full of it. I know of at least 4 people in my family and workplace that have had to replace the Maytag front loader piece of ** washing machine. I think Maytag should stick behind their product with all the complaints out there. I would like to shove my washer through their front window. I previously owned a Maytag washer for 25 years and had not one issue. It ran perfectly. I will never buy another Maytag product nor will anyone in my family. Maytag, you suck. Your service and reputation is appalling.

From day one I didnt like how this machine restricted how I can wash my clothing. There is no water volume controller. It is all automatic, which sounded fine in the store, but once I used it I quickly realized it is horrible. I can not add extra laundry or detergent in at the last minute because it says not to open the lid at all once you start the load. The settings are very glitchy. They do not seem consistent. There is a knob for level of soil on the clothing which doesnt seem to do anything at all. Ive had it now for four years and it has only gotten worse. Now I can only use one setting Hand Wash. Try doing a teenage boys clothes in Hand Wash and youll find out quickly that nothing gets clean that way. Oh, and all of the sudden the spin cycles are not working, they spin when they want to but they rarely get rid of the dirty water. Spinning in dirty water does not get clothes clean either. This machine is horrible, hands down, the worst washing machine I have ever owned.

I purchased a Maytag Dishwasher April 6th, 2011. Its only 3 years old and now the control panel isnt working properly. Specifically, the start button. Contacted Maytag Customer Care service and they could not help me other than charging $80.00 for the Maytag Man.. which by the way, we arent suppose to see because of their superb quality in appliances. So I have a repairman scheduled for next week. I am an highly dissatisfied customer because the dishwasher is used once a week for the 3 years Ive owned it. They pinpointed issue to the washer. On February 23, 2012, I spoke with Brenda from the Safety Department. She prioritized a diagnosis from a local certified technician. Never dies, never have had to have it serviced. House burned down is reason why it died. So I rebuilt, bought another one, then moved took it with me, then left it with my daughter and moved to Mexico. The dryer is still working to date and this all happened over 10 years ago. I sooo want another one. Best brand period. I only buy Maytag as they last. Unfortunately I do not have one now as they were unavailable in this country so bought something different. I was told the machine I have currently was as good as a maytag - they lied. I recently found out they have them now, so when I can afford one again, I will purchase one.

Faulty control board. Have owned a Maytag dishwasher model MDB6769PASI for 2.5 years. The unit started beeping at random times for about a week - then went dead! Sounds like other reported failures and it is unlikely repairs will be permanent! Never again Maytag.

Maytag washer has increased my water bill; it was supposed to be energy efficient! Also, the washer will not wash a blanket. Sensors will move a large item to one side causing an uneven load which then causes numerous extra fills until stopped manually. I was told to add more items! A blanket barely fits in the tub. I had to invest in lint rollers since the rinse cycle is inefficient. This washing machine is useless. I should have stuck with Kenmore.

The HE version of Maytag washer leaves the clothes smelling bad. There are suggestions to remedy this, but why do these type washers cause this? The suggestions dont work. No more HE washers of any brand.

Have had this side by side for a long time and it is great. Have not had any problems with it. Also have had an Amana which we love as well. These are side by side and are frost free and never have to clean.

Im told even though my fridge is leaking water and making sizzling sound nothing can be done and my model number and serial number match the recall for this product and I was told that if my fridge catches fire then, Call us but to me thats ridiculous.

Four years ago we upgraded our 20+ year old Maytag washer and dryer to go with a more water efficient model. The old units were working like champs so we upgraded with Maytag assuming it to be equal quality. From the beginning we were not pleased with the washers cleaning ability and now we have electrical problems and a leaking transmission. Our serviceman estimated repairs to be the cost of a new washer. (Im not talking about a Maytag for replacement.) I e-mailed the Maytag company and they basically said Too Bad. Totally disappointed!! Wish we had our old units back.

Purchased the Maytag Aqualift self-cleaning oven and this feature doesnt work at all. I would have never have made this purchase if I knew the oven would not self clean. This technology with the water in the bottom to self clean is pathetic! I thought maybe it wasnt working and called for a repair since it was under warranty. The service man told me not to expect it to clean like a regular self-cleaning oven. But I complained that it did nothing at all! So now I have a self-cleaning oven that I have to clean myself!

Purchased the Maytag Bravos washer and dryer at Home Depot. Previously had a Maytag set that was 25 plus years old that still ran well but was rusting out due flooding. Figured Maytag had great products. Have had mine for 4 years now and had nothing but trouble. Paid countless service calls, mainly on washer, will work for a short while and then stop again. Cant put more than 4 towels, or 3 pairs of pants or basically anything or the codes start popping up. I am so angry that a product I paid a lot of money for is such a piece of crap. I had a Kenmore that lasted 20 years. This didnt last 5. Paid a lot of money for a disposable washer. Red in color on top of that. When I bought I did my research and had good reviews. Dont buy any new technology -- not enough data. This a POS. No more Maytag for me. Spoke to a repairman -- water leaking from the bottom and bearings are out -- was told it was a bad design. 951.00 -- energy guide said the annual cost to operate was 30.00 a year -- my calculation is 30.00 + 190.00 = 220.00. What a ripoff. Never a Maytag for me again. I only really needed a dryer but thought that I would update and just get a matching set for my women. Now we will be going back to an unmatched set. What a terrible purchase. Review says 5 star -- that is for the Consumer Affairs -- not the washer.

I bought a Maytag washer and dryer, the Neptune series and thought I was getting a top of the line, but now the dryer has quit working and the repairman said it is not worth fixing and it is only about 5 years old. So that is what I am so angry about.

Love my Maytag washer! It is great to have a clear lid so I can see the clothes being washed. Not only the features, it really cleans my clothes. I was surprised at the stains that are removed just from washing them!

Maytag washing machine is the loudest machine Ive ever heard. It doesnt wash the clothes well leaves spots. We had a new barrel put in and it still walks across the floor. The water level doesnt come up high enough, makes grinding noises and it takes forever for the wash to be done. How can you say its an energy saver if it goes on for an hour or so. Very dissatisfied and pissed off.

Bravos XL was costly. Mistake! I owned my first Maytag for 20 plus years. The sticker shock of buying a new Maytag 4 years ago was pushed aside knowing how long my previous model lasted. The salesperson at Lowes closed the deal with his explanation of an improved gear driven system vs the old belt and pulley version. Oh how wrong! I too have the jet plane from hell landing in my home for over 2 years now everytime the spin cycle engages. This is a two person family and it failed at 2 years?!?!?As for water conservation... if I dont include the additional rinse cycle, my clothes dont get clean. Watched the YouTube on how to repair this unit... but what guarantee do I have that it wont go back to the same problem in another year? Cant afford another big investment like this now that I am retired, so I will run this baby until it seizes up. Dont wash clothes if company is coming or if you want to enjoy evening TV programs. Received this Maytag dishwasher model MDW7749SBW1 as a gift from my son in June 2013 when my old dishwasher finally quit. January 2014, the soap/rinse aid dispenser did not work. Called Maytag and they sent repairman who replaced the part. Still did not work so repairman said another part was not communicating with the dispenser so he replaced that part. Worked fine. No charge since it was under warranty. Now its July 2014 and the touch panel doesnt work. Called for repair and was told since it is out of warranty, it will cost about $350 to repair. I called Maytag about this and said that I had a defective appliance. I was told that since I didnt buy the extended warranty, there was nothing they could do. I mentioned my last Maytag lasted 25 years and had only two minor repairs so I didnt see any reason to buy an extended warranty. I thought I was buying a good product. I was told shed register my complaint. Waiting for my repairman to come out tomorrow and see what he can do. I also have a Maytag stove. Wonder how long that will last?

Bought this Range in March of 2019. I really liked the large oven in it. Right away I noticed that the oven didnt back things very uniformed and very quickly, so a lot of burnt cookies. But I adjusted to that, not super happy about it but it was fine. Tuesday while cooking the cooktop suddenly went out. I had been smelling something strange the last couple of times I had cooked with the oven and cooktop on so I just assumed it was the oven, it did need to be cleaned. Well I ended up pulling the range out from the wall and taking the back metal piece off...the wire running to the cooktop was burned, like 3 inches up the wire and also the wire coming into that wire on the range cord. Just destroyed. I was shaking. My house could have burnt down.I just attempted to call Maytag, knowing my warranty is up (1 year) but thinking they should know about this issue. I was told that they would need to send out a certified tech would need to come out to access the situation...ok...when are they available and she said the 29th of December, really? How many people can go 3 weeks with no oven? I take care of my 93 year old neighbor and make dinner every night. So obviously I cannot wait. I have a tech coming today to fix this fire hazard. I was told there was nothing that can be done as it was not under warranty anyway. What so your certified tech was going to come out for free and then charge me what I probably paid for the range to fix it.

My husband and I purchased our Bravo washer and dryer from Home Depot about 5 years ago. They have been the worst ever. Clothes always tear and we continue to receive an F1 error every time we try to wash something. I dont have the money to buy a new one, but I sure wish I did. I will never buy a Maytag anything ever!

I had two Maytag washers in my lifetime: one lasted 15 years and the other 20 years. Neither one had any service calls, just a sudden death. My newest Maytag is 1 year and 2 months old and Ive had two service calls so far due to the sensor unlocking the door. One time there were some socks caught “somewhere” and today the serviceman just reset the machine and it worked. He didnt know why it wouldnt work. It seems to me there needs to be some more detailed trials on these computer-operated machines. If I need another washer, it will most likely not be a Maytag.

I purchased a Maytag Washer Bravos Quiet series 300 & a Dryer Bravos Quiet series 400 w/ steam in June 2009 from Lowes. I cant express my dissatisfaction in strong enough language with these products. From the time they were installed there were problems.The Bravos series 300 washer: Quiet? Never. The thing sounds like a huge motor whirring around my laundry room. Several times, a coin got stuck in the motor and created a clanking sound that had to be fixed. Ive never had a washer that allowed coins to enter the motor. I cant close the lid on the washer until the whole unit is dry because of the mold problem. I dont feel the washer really gets clothes clean. When we purchased the unit, the Lowes salesman stressed that we could fit a large bedspread into the oversized tub and get it clean. This didnt turn out to be true. The clothes tangle terribly and the unit is off-balance with any kind of a larger load. Ive been forced to purchase the extended warranty because of the complete & total lack of confidence I have in this awful washer (same goes with the dryer).The Bravos series 400 Dryer: This unit never dries. All the setting that should be used with the sensor never work which causes a huge problem. I start out on a particular setting with a stated time limit say, for instance 45 minutes. 45 minutes later, I look at the dryer and theres 1 hr of time still left to go! The dryer just runs on and on. Ive taken to using only the timed dry and I start out at 1 hr, then check it every 10 minutes or so. This is very hard on the fabrics and has caused the useful life of my clothes to be greatly diminished. Also, the stupid thing will start to beep and I cant figure out why. Using this dryer has increased the electricity costs to us.I cant stress enough to STAY away from these products. I purchased Maytag because of their prior good reputation. That reputation is in tatters now. They should recall this product and replace it with products that actually do what they advertise!

My husband and I purchased a brand new Maytag dryer in January 2012. The Maytag Refrigerator Model #MFF2558VEW2 I purchased from Sears is a lemon. Ive had problems with the freezer getting a sheet of ice, under the storage basket. The ice starts melting, and pours out on the floor. I have to remove everything from the freezer basket, remove the sheet of ice, and mop the floor. Ive had problems with a great deal of noise coming from the unit as well. The unit has now stopped working completely. I called Maytag at 1-800-253-1301, and spoke with customer service. I was informed of a faulty part, in the freezer. I received the part in the mail, and a phone number of their contracted repair company. The repair man charged me $166.00 to install the part, and informed me the digital control board needed to be replaced as well, for an additional $170.00. I called Maytag again...they said nothing could be done about it. Ive had the refrigerator for 3 1/2 years, and had all these problems for over a year. Im not going to invest over $300.00 to repair a faulty product. Maytag should stand behind their products, and at least furnish the parts, or replace the unit, with something that actually works.

Had a Maytag washer, 3.5 tub, stopped working. The motor upper bearing lost it press, drive shaft dropped 3/4 inch and locked against lower housing, stripped out pump spline. No f/u by Maytag after many attempts. This is a design flaw, the upper housing is so thin, if it had .001 press on it I would be surprised. This flaw resulted in a cascade failure of motor and pump.

I didnt want something from Sears due to horrible experiences with them. Maytag is very reliable and the cost was reasonable. They fit in the small space available for washer and dryer. They have all the features I need. The only complaint I have about the dryer is that for some reason if the load is small, it takes longer to dry than with a full load. I have had them for about 5 years now. I expect a washer and dryer to work correctly every time. If its poor construction I would not buy it. I also expect an appliance to last many years with proper maintenance.

I purchased this washer on 5-25-15. It was delivered on 6-2-15. It worked for 11 days. On the 13th, I called Maytag and made an appointment for it to be fixed. They said a technician would be out on the 16th to fix it. I got a call on the 15th saying the part they needed was not released yet so they would be out on the 23rd. The guy comes on the 23rd and diagnoses the problem. He says the machine has a bad motor and shock of all shocks. He doesnt have the part to repair it. They originally assumed it was something else and were wrong. Fantastic. He said he would be back on the 30th. I got a call on the 29th saying that, once again, the part needed to fix it was not released and that they would call me to make another appointment when it was available. I had enough. I originally purchased with Home Depot and called my original salesman. He told me he would replace the washer with any brand I wanted (I paid the difference in cost of course) but I was still relieved that he was willing to work with me. I ended up going with an LG. Lets hope that one works. I have 2 kids and have been having to go to the laundromat. I have to say that I loved the machine for the 11 days it worked! I would probably still have it if they had better customer service but Im not going to continue to put up with them not having whats needed to fix this thing.

We purchased Maytag Dishwasher MDB5601AWW/46171101NP when we built our new home. In the last several months, water was leaking out onto the floor. We called Maytag and they told us there was a recall on the heater element and that they would send the part out. We made sure they knew the reason for our call--TO REPLACE THE GASKETS!. Maytag contacted a local authorized repair person. When they called to set up appointment, my husband reminded him about the gaskets. The guy showed up without gaskets, saying Maytag didnt put it on the order! We called Maytag to set up another service call. The guy showed up again today without the gaskets. We were told they had to be ordered and that he would have to come out again! Three service calls for one issue! Aside from this, the circuit board has never worked right. We push the correct buttons, but never know what kind of cycle we will get. We learned to live with it. Our bottom racks are melted as well as the sides of the dishwasher. Now that we know about the heater element being defective, this may be the cause of the bad gaskets and melted racks. It will cost almost $300 just to replace gaskets, and yes, we have to pay a service call for it when it could have been done in the first place. We called Maytag to complain and were told that replacing the gaskets always takes two service calls--one for diagnosis and the second to put in part. They said they dont take the customers word for it when we tell them whats wrong!

Maytag msd2650kes refrigerator - I replaced compressor switch three times then compressor went out after only almost four years. We bought all new Maytag when remodeling. Never again will we ever be that stupid again.

I was always impressed with the front loading spin washers commonly found in laundromats. The top loading Maytag Bravos does a great job of cleaning clothes and does not stick another door in your way when loading or unloading it.

Bought va washer. Trying to upgrade. Water fills about 1/3 of way even on bulky setting. Supposed to be high efficiency. Detergent does not get all the way out because there is no enough water. Have to put it through 2 rinse cycles. Worst machine. Design is flawed. Clothes all wrinkled. I cant afford to buy clothes and have them ruined. Man must have designed. Hate the washer. Im poor and they want take it back... want my money back. I cant buy washer every day. I will keep on complaining. No customer service. People just put you off. It is a Centennial high efficiency. A piece of junk.

This has been the worst washing machine I have ever owned!!! Purchased 3 years ago and this is the 3rd time the bearings dont work again. It make loud clanking noises. Then fails to spin at all. The first time it broke was the 1st year we owned it. It is sitting in our hallway and I can hardly wait for it to leave my house. Talked to the local appliance dealer and they never recommends these washers. I told dealer I must have gotten a lemon. He replied that it wasnt a lemon, that the machine tubs have gotten so much bigger and they have needed to upgrade the bearing system and are unwilling to do it. Dealer has highly recommended the Speed Queen. Based on the stellar reviews that is what will be coming to our house today. I can hardly wait. I know, its just a washing machine but frustration has overcome me. The Speed Queen has no plastic parts. We went with the knob style as opposed to the electronic push buttons. Less to go wrong. The warranty on the Speed Queen is top of the line, 5-year parts and labor. The salesperson didnt even try to sell me a warranty. No need to. Speed Queen stands by their product. I only recommend the Maytag Bravo XL if you dont have enough stress in your life.

I would like to say that I am highly dissatisfied with paying $1200 for a refrigerator that only can produce ice once every 12 hours and 90% of the time the over fill lever gets stuck so it will not make more. I would recommend anyone to not buy anything Maytag ever.

I would not recommend the Maytag washer with the large tub. It does not clean your clothes. I called Maytag and they do not care as long as it uses as little water as possible! Not a good value for the money!! That was the first time and last time I buy a Maytag... Thats the last $5000 they will get from us!

My wife was in the kitchen and started yelling for me to get in there fast. I could smell smoke and then could see the smoke in the kitchen and sparks coming out of the front top right side of the dishwasher. I shut off the power to the dishwasher at the breaker panel. I then removed the contents and then the dishwasher itself. I threw it outside and then the next day I took apart the door and found that the control board was melted and fried. The model # is MDBH949PAM1. We are trying to locate the receipt for date of purchase. Pictures are attached. This is not safe and my wife is very upset as our 4 year old daughter had been leaning on the door not just 15 or so seconds before this happened.

Maytag, you left me disillusioned and disappointed. I used to believe you, trust you. How am I going to feed my kids without a fridge? I bought our side-by-side French door refrigerator a few years ago and even bought the extended warranty (which no longer is in effect, unfortunately). Yesterday, the refrigerator failed, We called a small local repair person who could be at my home in a couple of hours. He listened and said my compressor was out, a leak was probably in there too, and that it would cost about 900 dollars or more to repair. When I called Maytag to see what they thought, they said that because I called a non-Maytag assigned repair person (even though this small-business repair guy didnt even take apart the refrigerator), I could no longer get their repair plus one year warranty offer which runs 400 dollars. But there is nothing I see on their warranty page that says this. Here I was trying to help our local economy by calling a small mom-and-pop repair person who is known in our town and has a good reputation, but I guess that by doing that minor well-intentioned act, it goes against Maytag corporate policy. Wow, how foolish do I feel now? I feel ashamed to admit this, but I actually started crying when I was on the phone with their customer help rep and asked, Isnt there something that can be done? I was thinking to myself that two months after Christmas with three kids is a tough time to replace a 1300-dollar refrigerator. I offered to pay the 400 dollars to get the refrigerator fixed by a sanctioned Maytag official with their warranty, but that I didnt know that I wasnt supposed to call anyone else besides Maytag if my appliances broke down. I would have never called our small local guy if I had known that Maytag corporate had such a policy. She said that no, there was nothing that she could do, and that is what happens to customers who call a non-Maytag assigned repair person. I guess when this happens to your fridge, you ask your neighbors if they can keep some milk, lunch meat and cheese for you, at least until you can save up for another fridge. Thank goodness that dried pasta and Ragu sauce dont have to be refrigerated. There are also cans of peas and corn and dry cereal, so it should be okay.I cant express how absolutely disappointed I am with myself and with my purchase, and how this has soured me on everything Maytag. I feel like an idiot. Can you believe that I had actually scrimped and saved up for months to buy this Maytag refrigerator and the extended warranty (hah, just to be safe)? I had bought it because I thought Maytag was a reputable company and because it was supposed to help the environment with its energy saving technology. But dont you think that a $1300 refrigerator should last more than 7 years (Believe it or not, this newer Maytag fridge was replacing a 20-year-old fridge that I gave to my cousins and which is still running to this day!)? And to add insult to injury, I already had a major repair done 4 years ago on this same French door Maytag fridge when it was only 3 years old. Maytag should offer to come out and fix their mess, but all I received when I called Robin, the supervisor, at their Tennessee call center was a, Sorry, there is nothing that I can do and there is no one else that you can speak to, and Nope, there is no one at corporate that you can call for help either and I have no advice to offer you. I can give you a mailing address though, if you like. I think I did hear pity in her voice, so that was some comfort. Pity from a call center supervisor, think about that! How awful it must be for her if that is all that she can offer to the desperate people who look to her for guidance! I actually felt sorry for her after I hung up the phone. It must be terrible to know that the company that you work for is probably mistreating its customers and all that you can offer is an Im sorry. I wonder how often someone says a rosary for her and her workers taking on those endless calls for help. How often does she cry herself to sleep after a day of that?I really dont like complaining online and I rarely do it, but this experience was just so awful and hopeless that I feel I had to say something to save other people pain and money. I hope that everyone learns from my miserable Maytag mistakes and please pass on my experiences to all of your friends and family. Those big tax refund checks will be coming soon, and I know that a lot of people upgrade their appliances with that money. Please, please think twice before you buy anything Maytag. I had to rate at least a one star because there isn’t a negative to rate. We bought the Maytag mvwb955fc1. First off it doesn’t clean our clothes. I can not get stains out or whites bright. I don’t feel it uses enough water. I put a full load in and it only fills up less than half with water. I try half loads and still not clean. It’s always shutting off when I wash sheets. Indicating it’s off balance. Today I started it before work and the lid exploded. I don’t think I want to even replace it at all. This could have seriously hurt someone. Do not buy this washing machine. The dryer is great so far. I wish I could post a photo to show you all.

We bought the washer less than a year ago. The washer became off balance with an average load of jeans. The washer shook so violently that it cut our floor, busted our wall, and broke itself. Water covered our floor! We have now been over a month with no washing machine (still paying on it, by the way). We have had to pay to get our clothes washed in the last month = EXPENSIVE! The repair company has been out to our home twice, broken high-quality tools trying to repair the machine, and told by their higher-ups that the washer can still be repaired. Customer service only tells us that we have a repair warranty and the first repair has no time limit.

I have a Maytag Performa washing machine (model no. PAVT234AWW) and called the Maytag parts department to order a plastic pulley for the main drive motor. I was told I would have to purchase the 189 dollar motor just to get the plastic pulley. After two days web searching and calling local appliance stores I found that Whirlpool who uses the same drive motor sells the pulley (part no. 21001108) for 9 dollars. The Whirlpool pulley is even made out of stronger plastic. I just wonder how many Maytag customers have had to purchase a drive motor like I was told I had to by Maytag just to fix a 9 dollar pulley. I got lucky and my problem was solved, but only because a local store happened to have this particular problem so frequently that they were able to help me out when Maytag should be the ones helping out their customers better. Very easy to use- just dial the button to the load of your choice! The only problem I have is it becomes unbalanced sometimes on a heavy load. :( And it is also energy efficient and lets you know when it needs cleaning.

Bought in July 2015, brand new from Lowe’s or Sears. When working to its full potential it never cleaned clothing very well, had no designated spot for detergent or softener, just bleach. Just last 3 years and it’s a piece of crap that has to be replaced. Going to argue with the company to tomorrow to get them to replace the broken transmission which may or may not be considered part of the drive motor - all **. This is a very expensive machine that didn’t last a month beyond 3 years! The 10 year warranty covers the 2 most rugged parts of any washer... the agitator never truly cleaned my clothes and now it is fused to the wash basket and cannot even be replaced without being chiseled off. Worst machine, purchase, and brand ever???

I bought a full kitchen of Maytag appliances when I bought a new house in 2009. I thought it was a reliable company. Id always gone with GE before. I couldnt get the packing sticker off the oven after trying everything to remove it, so the oven bottom is virtually ruined. The timer on the oven dings once and stops; dinner burns if Im not right there to hear it. I was told by customer service thats the way it works, so I had to buy a separate timer. I am now replacing my 2 ½-year-old dishwasher because the control panel has once again stopped working. It cost me $275 to fix the first time and it lasted less than 3 months. I will never buy Maytag again! I got over 20 years of service from my GE appliances.

Purchased dishwasher from Highway Appliance in Dunlevy, PA on August 21, 2013. In August, 2015 control panel apparently went bad. When pushing normal, other buttons light up, but not the one you select. Tried throwing the breaker to reset, to no avail. Based on reviews, seems like many others have the same problem. Step up and do the right thing Maytag - recall & replace these machines!!!

Bought a new Maxima washer in January. Worked for one week. Got error codes and electronics board shut down. Contract serviceman says board should have reset after turning off. Ordered new board and it is missing one of the electrical wire connector plugins. Maytag/Whirlpool is having a problem with these boards.Three weeks without a washer. Two days off work. When it goes out again, days off work will be close to what I paid for it. Thinking I may cut my future losses and buy another brand when in-transit board goes out.

Replaced a Maytag Bravos xl washer and dryer in 2015. First year was fine but almost right after the warranty period, the spinning cycle was loud. You cant even have a conversation near the washer. I put up with it after calling the repair department. Because I was told that it will cost as much to repair than buy a new washer. Now the washer does not drain when a small amount of cloth are in the washer. Dont buy this washer and dryer. Maytag is not as good as it once claim.

The washer gets mildew all the time no matter how much I use the tablets and yes keep door open. It still has so much. I scrub it and it keeps growing. Sometimes my clothes come out ripped also which is another frustration. Please help these two issues.

To begin with, the Bravos 300 washer was bought because we owned a Maytag previously and it was with us for 25 years. It was still running when we gave it away and the only problem was a small oil leak starting at the drive. The new washer has no agitator, just the new style flat thing at the bottom of the tub. You cannot wash a set of fitted sheets without it turning into a tangled mess. The washer quit working after about 5 years and all indications pointed to the control. The control would reset after unplugging, but would freeze immediately when you tried to enter a command. We live in an isolated place and it is not feasible to fly in a service person. I ordered a new control, but there was no change in function. After several hours of detective work, it turns out that the mickey mouse plug for the electrical connection at the pump had broken inside. Because the pump would not work, the whole control would freeze. We will never buy another Maytag.

I purchased a gas range from Lowes - Maytag- Model #MGR8880AS in 2012. The range has been repaired on multiple occasions 11/2016; 3/2017; 5/2017. All three times they replaced the igniter and burner. On one occasion they replaced the computer board as well. (Each time they have informed me that this part was a recalled problem and under warranty). The stove is now out of warranty and having same issue. The stove fills with gas and the igniter does not ignite and does so intermittently. Maytag only wants to send repair company out at my expense. They need to replace the stove, because someone somewhere will die because of their product. I will purchase a new stove and not from Maytag. (All my appliances are Maytag). I also have a copy of my receipt and will provide if needed; I used my extended warranty through Lowes each time. I urge everyone not to purchase Maytag appliances.

WARNING FIRE/HEALTH HAZARD - BRAVOS MVWX500XW1. Purchased it new 2011. Never cleaned well. Some clothes came out with dry spots, darks had soap scum/lint spots over them. On several occasions, clothes were not wrung out properly. BUT when I went to do a load of laundry recently, I heard a loud POP and almost instantly my entire basement filled with an acrid, dense grey smoke coming from under the machine. I am concerned toxic chemicals were released. People still smell the odor in the house. Need to get in touch with company again after the weekend to see what they will suggest.

Less than 1 year ago, my washing machine that my husband bought me was a Maytag Mod #MVWC200XW0. It went. The repairman came and had to put in a brand new capacitor and less than 3 months later, there are two things that are wrong with the washer and I cant use it again. I have to go to the laundromat and take clothes elsewhere to get them done. I took out an extended service agreement in January. Maytag deducted $21.18 from my checking account and they never sent me an invoice for the balance of $42.36. I kept calling and trying to get an invoice. Then on June 25th, I received a letter in the mail that they cancelled my service agreement. I guess this was cancelled in May and they sent me a letter a month later. Now, the repairman was there last night and they could not fix it without us paying upfront and the extended service plan said they didnt even know if we would get reimbursed for any of the parts. This is very poor for a washer that is just a little over a year old. As far as I am concerned, this washer is junk and needs to be junked. My husband got a lemon. I am not putting this amount of money in something that every 3 months has something going wrong with it. I would appreciate a phone call back or something that could be done. Thank you.

This Bravo Top Loading Washer does not thoroughly clean my clothes. It doesn’t fill properly with water, and it leaves soap residue on my clothes, because it’s not using enough water. I’m using the 2 rinse cycle trying to prevent this, and it’s still not enough. It has actually ruined a few of my items. It is the WORST washing machine I’ve ever purchased. I’m disappointed in Maytag for producing such an awful machine and Sears for selling such a sub par product.

I purchased a Maytag Bravo Washer and Dryer about 2 years ago; dissatisfied with the products. Washer continues to smell. I clean it all the time with the Affresh tablets. Usually, I have to use 2 bags just to get it not to smell for at least 2 weeks. Now, the glass front dryer is rusting out around the window.

Im writing in reference to Model # MF12569YEM2. Bought this 3 years ago for close to 3k. Since then it forms a sheet of ice under the bottom freezer and leaks water onto the floor. It has ruined my hardwood floor and leaked through the floor to my basement and now need to re-sheetrock the ceiling. Its a bad design and should have been recalled because I see everyone else with this model is having the same issue.

Maytag dishwasher mdbh979sam1 - Every single one of the Maytag/whirlpool dishwashers with soft pushbuttons and LEDs will fail--check it on YouTube. They have a very thin printed circuit strip from the door controller to the brains, and this rusts through in a few years. You must buy the whole controller for $150, you cant replace just the ribbon. And youll be doing this every few years. Maytag disavows this if you call them. The design runs the steam past this ribbon, so it corrodes really fast. Get a real pushbutton or a real dial knob model instead. With this model, the issue shows up when the LED pushbuttons stop responding or randomly light.

Front load washer unit does not respond to control inputs. I have called Maytag service and support. One can find a repair or maintenance manual. Im in a smaller market so there is limited service. Maytag service and online support is terrible. Maytag stores are fronts for independent service companies. Its probably okay, but misleading. Everyone wants to order the main controller board. It would be good to have a maintenance manual.

My new fridge iced over top to bottom. It started making horrible noise then ice maker stopped working. Called MY repairman. Thats when I found out about all the ice. He told me to thaw out and hed be back. It thawed out and then freezer went out. ALL my freaking meats and frozen food had to be thrown out. Now water keeps Flowing out on my NEW tile! Called my repairman back. He came back then informed me it was junk! He said several other customers having same issue. My daughter has the same refrigerator and it broke down just like mine! My repairman also said a big issue with your junk was you used parts from other brands to fix!After reading all these complaints I can see no sense in calling to get it repaired. Its obvious we are all having the same issue. Maybe someone from your ** company could check them out. I dont have the money to buy another fridge! My 85 year old uncle with Alzheimers lives with me and I dont want him to slip on that water and hurt himself! I think all of these complaints need to go to BBB. Thats my next step. I believe you need to recall this junk or give us our money back! I need you to respond or Im going on blast to let everyone know how you treat your customers.

Bought this machine last spring with high hopes. When I noticed issues, I looked up other reviews and saw so many having the same experiences. It does NOT use enough water to clean or rinse the clothes. My clothes are getting stretched and worn. I have to run extra rinse cycles to get the detergent out of my clothes. For the cost of this machine, it should be working much more efficiently than it does. Not seeing any savings in electricity or water bill due to extra cycles needed. Waste of time and money. Would love to join a class action suit against them for the piece of junk!

I bought the Maytag Bravos XL 5.3 washer because it was advertised to conserve water and it was a good brand, but it was a horrible mistake to buy this washer. The washer barely uses any water to clean properly and it hardly moves any of the clothing. The only thing that does move is the clothes at the bottom while the clothes on the top stays still. After using it for a day, I decided to return it back to Home Depot where I bought it, but they did not accept it and told me to call Maytag to return it. I called and the person who answered gave me different numbers to call. After going through ten different numbers, I finally received someone that could help me and they told me that I could not return the washer. They told me that the only way to return it was if there was a mechanical problem with the washer. It is extremely frustrating because I paid over $800 on this washer and now Im stuck with this garbage because I cant return it. I recommend everyone to not buy this washer otherwise youll get the same problems I am getting. I have to manually stop the washer and move the clothes by hand.

First off. Maytag customer service is horrible. I purchased a Maytag washer & used it 8 time. It now doesnt rinse the soap out of my clothing or even clean anything. The washer isnt broken because thousands of other people with the same exact washer have written negative reviews everywhere online. The washer needs to be recalled & never sold again. Maytag is making people SICK and they dont care. My whole family had skin irritation because we didnt realize our new washer wasnt rinsing.

Purchased this Whirlpool made Maytag Stainless Steel dishwasher Feb 2013. By Jan 2017 the washer was no longer operational. Due to poor factory design the touch pad wiring harness was crushed during the initial assembly. The harness is routed behind the touch pad/pull handle faceplate in the door. The factory design provided no clearance for the harness. Obviously after little use (opening and closing of the door) the pinched portion of the harness behind the pull handle becomes compromised causing the ELECTRICAL SHORT.I phoned Whirlpool the maker of the Maytag Stainless Steel Dishwasher for assistance, all they offered was a repair plan in excess of $300.00. I purchased this supposedly quality American Made Whirlpool product as well as a range, microwave, washer and dryer in the spirit of supporting US labor. Now Im stuck with a dishwasher that has an ELECTRICAL SHORT, possibly a FIRE HAZARD and Whirlpool trying to milk me for more money. Please think twice before purchasing anything from this Michigan based company.

This is the second Maytag appliance in less than 5 years to stop working. The first was a dishwasher. I got 14 months use out of before the control panel burned out. Fixed it for $125 only to have it happen again in 6 months and repair company said parts are only 3 months warranty. Cost me $5 to bring to landfill. Now the matching Refrigerator is making a loud humming noise and Ive been told its the compressor.

Its an old story with Maytag. We purchased a refrigerator in Nov 2012. Three days ago we noticed the refrigerator was making a constant buzzing sound and that the freezer was not cold. A repairman confirmed our suspicions. Bad compressor! Cost to repair, $729. And, the warranty on the new compressor was only 90 days. Cost for a new one $1700. Contacted Maytag. We do offer extended warranties (up to 10 years on compressors) on some models, but not yours. So, we will get a new one but with the extended warranty. It wont be a Maytag.

Discovered that thousands of others are having problems with the control panel on their dishwasher. Mine is Model # MDB7749SBM2. Looks as if I should just junk this horrible product and buy a new one (another brand, of course). My biggest concern is that I purchased other Maytag products along with this dishwasher, ie, a refrigerator-freezer, a built-in stove top/oven and a microwave. I have had a service call on the fridge (water line), the oven (gas) will indicate a set temperature (400 degrees for example) sometimes it will only be abt 200 degrees via a portable thermometer... Sometimes it doesnt ignite at all (have to reset it 3 or 4 times, the microwave has issues with the digital readouts, and on and on and on.I have only had these appliances about two years (after warranty expired) when each unit started exhibiting problems. I paid $175 for the fridge repair and am now considering biting the bullet & replacing everything as MAYTAG/WHIRLPOOL apparently isnt going to take responsibility for any defect on ANY OF THEIR PRODUCTS! Im 75 years of age, retired and cannot afford the replacement route but it looks like I dont have a choice unless someone has a better suggestion. I dont have the skills or energy to attempt the repairs myself.

My husband bought a washing machine for me, February 2019, based on my request for a top load and a quick cycle time. The first issue was that the washer and dryer was the wrong color. I didn’t realize that he had ordered a stainless steel set before I accepted it. When he got home and discovered it, he called and tried to get the correct color, and Maytag refused to correct the mistake. When the technician starts the washer and dryer before they leave to make sure it’s working, it immediately becomes a used item that they can’t sell is what they explained to my husband! The technician also didn’t remove a plastic bag from the dryer vent that I asked him to check on before he attached the hose to the wall! Took me 2 days to figure out why the machine wasn’t drying the clothes properly!This Maytag washer has the longest quick washing time ever! 40 minutes! I have had trouble from day one with getting laundry clean with this brand new machine! And I’ve been washing clothes for almost 30 yrs! I discovered today that this washer only washes for 10 minutes in the soapy water and then begins draining! Unbelievable! This washing machine that takes 40+ minutes to complete a load of laundry! This is the worst experience I’ve ever had with a washer in 30 years of doing laundry! Don’t waste your money or your time even to look at this machine! It’s a poor buy!

Our dishwasher developed a smell. We do regular maintenance and care of this dishwasher. Come to discover the entire thing is full of mold. Customer service is rude and expects us to wait two weeks for a service person to come out. Will not use the dishwasher because it is probably making our family sick. I have never experienced customer service like this. DO NOT BUY DISHWASHERS FROM THEM. They don’t care the product is defective and they don’t care about their customers or their safety.

We bought Maytag Gas Double Oven MGT8800FZ only just two years ago and the top part of the range oven has already stopped working. It has not been overused as there are only two of us in the family and we use Crockpot regularly which do not require the range. It was fine for about 23months, but now it will not heat up at all We have been unable to get much help from Maytag so are not at all happy with this product. We chose Maytag as it is a replacement for an older Maytag oven and we have a Maytag fridge which will shortly have to be replaced. Not sure at all if we will replace it with Maytag going on our experience with our double oven.

I have had my washer and dryer for more than 5 years. As normal, over time, stuff wears out and parts need to be replaced. The manual doesnt list part numbers that are needed. The website doesnt pull up part numbers when you type in the model number. After paying for overnight shipping that isnt guaranteed (and was more than the part itself), it didnt show up until a couple of days later and it was the wrong part. I would have to pay for shipping costs of the return, now tripling the cost of the actual part. Calls to customer service were not at all helpful as all they could say was that I would have to pay for the return shipping and they were sorry there was nothing they could do. I wont be purchasing anything from Maytag ever again.

Maytag Dryer MED6000XR2 - Purchased in Sept. 2012 - first service call 1/13/14; 2nd service call 2/20/2015 and less than one month on 3/14/15 it goes out again. It takes one week to get service company out and then another week for the part to be ordered and put in. This means I am without a dryer for over 2 weeks. An $1,100 dryer goes out every year and sometimes within one month?! According to the service company, it just is the way this dryer works. Really? If Maytag ever wants my business again, I better get a more justified reason and better than 2 weeks service call. This is absolutely ridiculous.

We purchased this washer 3/25/15 for $873.77, we also got the matching dryer, for the same amount. This washer, never washed good, it is simply a bad design, I dont know, what type of mind altering products the designer was on at the time, but it must of been some good stuff, since all brands jumped on the wagon. This is a POS, I have contacted Maytag, and they just ignore me. We need a class action lawsuit against them, they think they can take our money, and laugh at us.

I purchased a Maytag Centennial washer a few years ago. In my opinion it hasnt worked properly from the start. We went on the low end of price, because we spent a small fortune for GE products that broke after a year and a half. This Maytag hasnt been a much better experience. First it didnt drain and spin clothes, and I was told I was using too much soap. Cut back on the soap and it started working better and going through the full cycle but the clothes never felt or smelled fresh and clean. Now 2 1/2 years in, it doesnt complete the full cycle on its own, AND there is dirt in my washer after every load. My clothes come out with streaks of dirt on them. The picture below is of a pillow case I just took out of the wash! Ive cleaned the washer multiple times, but it doesnt drain properly so it doesnt help. Maytag charges a service fee just to come out and troubleshoot and charges you again to come and do the repair. Im running out of reputable companies these days with washers.

A week after warranty expired, our 1 year old Maytag gas range (model# MGR7662WS 4) required new Direct Spark Ignitor (DSI) board. Knowing it was just beyond warranty, I inspected wiring first and found that the Bake connector on the DSI was loose, flopping around from a bad solder point on the board. Called Maytag and informed them of this manufacturers defect and all they offered was a $20 discount on a replacement part ($220 instead of $240). It worked with new part for 4 days, then something else went bad causing oven to spark, light, heat to less than 100 degrees, then shut down, then restart, then shut down, then restart, then stop doing anything. It has never worked correctly since then. How can a manufacturer of almost all domestic brands get away with such shoddy workmanship.. Taking advantage of defective or poor quality parts to sell more of the same when they fail and for an enormous markup? Where are the regulators who oversee monopolies and blatant scamming of American consumers?

My dryer is 3 years old and I have had a technician work on it 3 times in 2 weeks, replacing parts as well as screws that were not installed. The dryer is not drying clothes and resets. Yes, I clean the filter.

Stove does not heat evenly in oven. Electric burner cannot be turned down to low or simmer, then it will not cook at all. Other burner turned down to low does not stop bubbling and stays at a high temp. There is no consistency. I am extremely disappointed and curse at this stove every day. Model #MER7664XB. Serial #R13316302.

This will be the third repair of this refrigerator in one year, the same issue of the refrigerator warming up. Water all over the floor due to ice thaw. Also food spoilage. I want another refrigerator at this point. The Maytag repairman is definitely not lonely. He has more business than he can handle with this defective refrigerator. Terrible. Do Not Buy!!

We are extremely frustrated with this machine. It takes an extremely long time to go through the cycle, compared to past washing machines, even when it is working. It rarely completes the cycle and often goes back to wash and stops. We have no way of knowing if it washed or rinsed or what. To get it to finish, we have to turn the dial to drain and spin. The clothes always come out tightly twisted and tangled up and have to be untwisted and items pulled from each other....so they are extremely wrinkled! This is the first and last Maytag product we will ever buy. We HATE it!!! I would say it has been a lemon from day one but Home Hardware was no help when we complained. We tell everyone to stay away from this product.

I purchased a refrigerator in Aug. 2012 from Home Depot. In June 2013, it broke. I contacted Maytag/Whirlpool and they had three companies come out to try and fix it over a four-week period when finally it was determined that it was unrepairable. Now I was told that we can get an exchange but now they have the incorrect delivery address and the person supposed to be handling my case has been on vacation and I left several messages. I contacted Maytag for someone else to help and cant seem to get anyone for the past 2 weeks. This has cost me money for food lost, time from work and time making calls.

I had a brand new Maytag refrigerator freezer delivered to my home. Not three days later, the freezer compartment is frosting over on the back wall, while the refrigerator fails to keep my drinks cooler cold like I demand. Ive heard of planned obsolescence, but this is ridiculous!

No problem with retailer. Problem is this top of the line Maytag dishwasher, Model# MD8895lAWW. Stinks all around. Takes long to wash and load, times are far apart and too few so holds few dishes. Dishes and glasses break because of the tine spaces. Horrible dishwasher for high price. I hate it so much it upsets me daily. All I get is a sorry from Maytag. Its not that old, only a year and a half. Why no satisfaction? I will avoid all Maytag products for life.

The control (computer) stopped working. The Maytag Centennial washer would not turn off. I had to unplug it from the electrical outlet to get it to stop. The repairman had to replace the computer panel. He said it had burned up. I bought this machine from Lowes on January 11, 2011. It lasted 15 months and cost me $265 to get it repaired. I called Lowes and because I did not buy the extended warranty, they would not even talk to me. When I pay about $500 for a washing machine, I expect it to last longer than 15 months! I will never buy another Maytag appliance! Customers beware: these products are a bunch of junk. Even the repairman told me so.

I bought a new smart washer and dryer from Maytag in mid-2019. Beginning in the first few weeks the machine did not perform as expected--cut off in middle of cycle, door failed to unlock at end of a cycle, constant error messages that made no sense (power failure when power didnt fail, codes that arent defined in the owners manual). To make a long story short, the company that does their warranty repair, which has worked on the machine approximately 8 times, tells me there is nothing else they can do, the machine is a lemon. But their customer service department refuses to replace it. They say it must be repaired, yet again. But the parts are out of stock (which should be a pretty good indication that theres a problem with product quality). So I am to wait. How long? They dont know. Call again tomorrow.Do NOT buy a Maytag appliance. Customer service does not stand behind their products and the products are no longer up to the quality I had previously expected from Maytag. Additionally, telephone wait times on the customer experience line can exceed an hour and are customarily over 30 minutes. Never had an experience like this with any other major appliance customer service department.

I bought a Maytag dishwasher Model MDB7749SBW3 from Home Depot 6/2014 and by December 2015, the touch panel was going crazy! Ive read a lot of reviews and this seems to be common for Maytags. It would cost me almost as much to have this machine repaired, with a service call and the cost of a new panel, as it did when I bought it. When talking to an appliance repairman, he informed me that Maytag and most all the major brands are now owned by Whirlpool and that they are basically junk--not meant to last more then 1-3 years! Where are the recalls and how do we get a recall started?

I recently purchased a new Maytag Commercial top loading Bravos from Lowes. It looked like a sturdy model and has a 10-year parts warranty and to cover this washer even more... I purchased the additional warranty from the factory. The washer is delivered, set up... First batch of laundry the washer is making all kinds of noise, the clothes are wet..water didnt dissolve soap packet... Repairman comes out..washer out of balance, cold water not at full pressure... Computer failure noted. Now still making a lot of noise, my clothes are twisted and intertwined and still dirty. My dryer isnt even taking the wrinkles out and even after I iron on hi steam the clothes are still wrinkled beyond belief... Im so dissatisfied with the washer... I want to return it... I cant believe Maytag would manufacture a washer that is ruining my clothes...

I would have given this washer/dryer a 0 star, but wasnt able to. Bought the pair and first thing, couldnt get enough water in the tub, clothes wallowing around for an hour in the few cups of dirty water that it allows. Cant even believe how terrible this combo washer and dryer is! Now I get to wash everything in this piece of ____ twice, thank you Maytag! Just took out a load and it is dingy and stinks, so now its wet, on the floor waiting its turn to go back for another wash (possibly even a third).If you want clean clothes, do NOT get this washer. Dryer has issues also. For whatever reason, the AF signal has been on for a couple of months. Turn it off and back on and its okay for a bit, then back on. Its the Air Filter. Its not plugged, so I dont know, I just keep using it with intervals of resetting it altogether. What a total waste of money. Am going to give it away for free as soon as I find a replacement! Save yourself a huge headache and look elsewhere than Maytag. Oh, and if Maytag happens to read my review, you can contact me for a refund any time, just respond to this post, you can even come pick it up and get it out of my home. Thanks a bunch!

According to repairman this washer had a very common problem with what mine was doing. Water was gushing up out of the detergent, bleach, and softener dispensers and running out onto my floor. It was going to cost an arm and a leg to repair it. Mind you this washer isnt even 3 yrs old yet. Called the manufacturer and they basically told us that we should have purchased the extended warranty. We said if so many washers of that model had that problem they should have had a recall and fixed it for the customer. They said it wasnt a safety issue. I asked if falling on a floor covered with washer water and breaking a hip isnt considered a safety issue? No more Maytags for me.

Maytag Bravos top load washing machine - This is the worst washing machine I have ever used. Like some of the other complaints it leaves lint on your clothing. It does not put enough water in the machine. The so called smart technology that senses your load does a terrible job. Your clothing is halfway out of the water, with dry spots, even after 10 minutes of agitation. I am constantly adding 3 to 5 gallons of water to my loads to get things in the water. And if I want to let thing soak for a while you have to unplug the machine, because after 10 minutes it will automatically drain the water out. 2 years of dissatisfaction. I cant wait for it to die. I should have come to this site first. Never buy a machine without an agitator!

I purchased this $900 Maytag washer from Home Depot in Oct. 2010. Now, after Ive just paid $129 for a service call through their designated repair service, I was informed it will cost $700 to fix this washer. I use the washer on average of three times a week. Its unbelievable that this type of crap is sold by Home Depot and that Maytag warranties will not cover repair as one year has passed.

Can not wash 4 pairs of pants or 2 sheets because they get out of balance when the spin cycle begins. I had to take the clothes out and move them around to keep the balance. Very unhappy. Would not recommend this washer.

Very dissatisfied with Maytag Washer Mod MVWB835DW0. This Large Capacity machine does not adequately clean a large capacity of clothes. In order to get a half decent wash performance from this machine, fill the machine only 1/4 full. Even using the recommended manual, I was very dissatisfied with the way my clothes looked after washing them with this machine. While I have been unhappy with the performance of this machine since purchasing it. What motivated me to leave this review is when my pants had the same sand debris on them after the wash as they had before the wash. I will be looking for a new machine this weekend. IT WILL HAVE AN AGITATOR TOWER!

After one year, this famous Neptune washing machine began to sound so noisy during the spin cycle that neighbors must have thought a 747 was taking off from our house. After researching the web, I found that the main bearing always fails in this machine and there is a new one-man repair industry started up across the US to just replace these bearings. In fact, someone invented a bearing puller just for this problem. I am deeply disappointed that a once fine company would knowingly put out such trash. I am replacing ours with another brand, even though we have used Maytag for 30 years. Customers always determine who wins and who loses in the long run. Bye, Maytag!

I bought a Maytag Dishwasher. The control panel has been replaced 7 times! About the protection plan that I renewed every year, the representative said that in order to replace a lemon, it had to break down 3 times in one protection plan year/12 months.

We can do nothing at the control panel even though the drum light will come on when the door is opened, we cannot turn it from the control panel. After a varying length of time, a fault code of F70 is displayed (which is not covered in the owners manual), the dryer can then be started by depressing the power button and all functions seem to be restored.

Maytag Bravos electric steam dryer purchased 2009 - I have had to replace the door hinges within one year of usage at my expense. The blower belt and pulley had come off twice, the last time about a half hour after the repairman (again at my expense) left. I put it back on myself and if it comes off again, I will use Locktite to glue it on the blower shaft. I figure I will be lucky if this crap lasts a couple more years anyway. No more Maytag for us! What does it take for the consumer to get some representation with regard to lemon laws here? I will take my wrath out on Home Depot here since I have no recourse. If enough people complain, maybe they will stop selling that junk. I also will disregard Consumer Reports in the future.

In April 2010, I replaced my washing machine (still functioning after 12 yrs) to upgrade to what I believed to be the top of the line Maytag Bravo 5.2 HE washing machine. Module # MVWB850WL0 type: 580-02. This machine of 3.5 yrs leaks underneath and after having the service tech come to look he advised me it will cost over $800 to fix (I paid over $900 for this unit). He says its the bearings and went on to ask me if Id been using the HE laundry soap (as if Im an idiot) and went on to ask whether Id been washing bedding. SERIOUSLY?!? !... After much research on this issue, I discover that there are similar complaints all over North America. Very disappointed and I want this lemon replaced by Maytag.

My washing machine was noisy from the start. We had recently purchased a new fridge and were told when we questioned its noise thats just the way they are. So we didnt question the noisy washer as we should have. The noise got louder as time went on and at the 18 month mark, it was so bad, we had someone look at it. The washer had never cleaned as well as expected, but again, we were too busy to follow up. The repairman advised that the bearing and tub needed to be replaced! Augh! $450 for parts $300 for labour! I contacted Maytag/Whirlpool and was advised they would go good for the parts, I would have to pay labour. Not being terribly impressed, did a bit of research and was told it was worth fixing. As it was technically out of warranty, I was lucky to have them pay for parts. Took 6 weeks to get part. In that time, had questions about delay, etc... at one point was yelled at on the phone by Melissa from Whirlpool as I asked to speak to a supervisor. So fun :( First part comes and it is defective, luckily there was another one in Vancouver, so only an additional 4 day wait. My machine is now fixed. It is extremely quiet and cleans very well. Suffice to say, it was defective from the start. So, Ive gotten to pay an extra $300 over retail to have a working machine! Lucky me! Repairman also advised that he recommends everyone to purchase the additional 5 year warranty as the manufacturers are now only making machines with a 7 year life expectancy and I was VERY lucky in the beginning to get someone to even talk to me after the 1 year mark.

On 8/26/16, we purchased a top-of-the-line Maytag dishwasher from Lowes of Palm Bay, Fl. It began leaking water out one side shortly after installation. Because of a hospitalization, we were not able to report the problem to Lowes until the first part of December. A repairman from Brandts in Sebastian, Fl. came out on 12/6/16 and said it might be the door gasket, but he did not have a new one with him and if it continued, to call back. I called again and another repairman from Brandts came out on 1/3/17. He said it was out of square and he took out 2 screws and said to cut back on detergent because too many suds could cause it to leak (which we find ludicrous). Now it leaks on both sides. This is not a small leak; it soaks the bath towel we put under the door. On 1/11/17 Brandts sent 2 repairmen out and they claimed we needed to cut way back on detergent and put in a capful of salad oil because our water softener is causing the suds which causes the leak. We now use 1/2 teaspoon of detergent and the capful of salad oil. It is still leaking. Our previous Kitchen Aid dishwasher never leaked and we used the recommended amount of detergent in it. We are apparently stuck with a brand-new dishwasher that cannot be fixed. We will NEVER buy another Maytag appliance.
